This place never fails. We usually go to the one at Tianmu but just realized there is the original shop near our hotel. What a treat! We came here for breakfast to try their special breakfast set. I love their hot tea. Simply smooth and warms you up instantly. How I wish I can have the same back home. We ordered our usual, the collage noodles, Dan Dan noodles, shrimp siumai, stir fry sweet potato leaves and tofu skin with enoki. Overall was good. But somehow I prefer ten ren’s dishes. Maybe my taste bud affected due to my flu. It was still a good experience. Am glad we managed to make it here for a nice treat.

Nice decor and plenty of seating when we visited. Would be great if the menu had pictures for non-native speakers. Food came out fast and looked good. Side dishes were tasty, noodles were just okay, but the bubble tea and drinks were really good.

I was very excited to try Bubble Tea at the origin place of its creation and when I arrived to Taichung, it was one of the only places open until later in the evening to visit. I ordered the small classic Bubble Tea, Chili Sesame DanDan Noodles, and the fried Radish Cakes (I was so hungry, I ate them before I could take a picture). The standout dishes were the sesame DanDan noodles and radish cakes. I actually felt quite disappointed in the bubble tea - it is expensive and contains more ice than tea which does not match the price point. I also felt that it had less flavor than the tea I have bought at 50 lab or in the night markets which was only 55NT compared to 120NT. I would recommend clarifying how much ice or sugar you want in advance to ensure that the quality is to your liking. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really peaceful and lively. There were posters depicting the history of the creative tea-making process and guided courses on how to make Bubble Tea at home. I recommend going for the aesthetic and historical experience - do not get your hopes too high for the best boba of your life. Night stalls are the best for this!

Their milk tea is served in pint glasses, as if they are selling beer. As a result, my insulin level had a wild day. They also offer small hot dishes/ snacks that honestly taste better than their milk tea. Minus point for the long queuing time even on a weekday.

We had original milk tea with pearls and brown sugar milk tea, the pearls are soft and chewy. The butter toast and the other snacks taste great. We like the ambience at the basement.

Came here around 6pm and had a queue of around 15 minutes wait time. The restaurant itself is quite tidy and if you happen to sit next to the right side of the restaurant. There is some bubble tea trivia which is quite fun to read. As for food, we ordered various dish, all came out quite good. I really like the sesame dandan noodles. Veges and the fried chicken also pretty good. The main star of course is the bubble tea and it has really good flavour and the boba is small size which apparently they kept to the original recipe. It doesnt get stuck in the straw at all. Overall experience very good, we will definitely be back if not this branch, then some other branch.

Personally I like this market. It’s always been a thing for me to visit the local market to have a good feel of their lifestyle. I find the market a unique experience for me. You can find what you would normally find it a market. There’s also plenty of food options available. I’ve tried braised pork rice and sashimi. I think it really got a good CP value. Should I return to Taichung again, I would probably visit this again as well as giving myself more time to explore surrounding neighbourhood.

This market is as traditional and authentic as it gets. 😍 This is definitely a one-stop shop for tourists as well as locals to come and get everything they need, from produce and vegetables all the way to good food. The establishments that receive good reviews for their amazing dishes will not disappoint. I think coming here is definitely a pit stop for those who are in Taichung for a short period to indulge in a foodie haven. Explore every nook and cranny you can, and the ones that garner a long queue will not disappoint.

For a rainy a Sunday, it was just ok. Many vendors were closed. The busiest stalls were the food vendors. There is definitely a lot of variety. One area had the heavy smell of urine right by a number of the eateries. It didn’t seem very touristy as the prices were reasonable. Compared to the Sixth Market, this is not a fancy place. Set your expectations as low as possible.

Not your typical night market. More like a traditional market. Can be wet and slippery. It’s a round in case you get lost. There is a beverage stall there that sells red tea and all. The tea may be too sweet for us, non-locals. 😆 can try their kind of breakfast, yam cake with egg. I feel can give it a miss and try other breakfast spots.

One of the better markets with food and retail shops. We love the list of must try food next to the toilet. Lots of things to see and eat. Much better place than Third Market.

Everything from house slippers and clothing, to fresh meats and a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits from various vendors. Quite a good market to visit for practical necessities, and prices are competitive. Cash only at most places vendor stands. There are also a lot of food stalls where you can order food to eat there, of course, and a public restroom.

Giving it 4 stars because I ordered more 蛋饼 than the 吐司。 The 吐司 is definitely a 5! Just go for the toast and don’t bother about the rest. The magic is in the bread they use. A simply magical combination of soft texture on a sweet note 😋

Amazing toast! Pork chop was seasoned nicely and they were very generous with the meat. I added cheese and it was perfect. Super value for money. We had takeaway since we werent sure there were seats for us. There were a long line of orders but they were executed super quickly and it wasnt a long wait.

One of the best egg pancake roll & toast in Taiwan. Had their signature meat & egg toast, signature meat patty toast, bacon egg pancake, ham egg pancake. Their signature milk tea & signature soy milk is good too! It’s so crowded even thought we visited at 6am, however, the wait wasn’t too bad since the staffs serve everything quickly.

However, the wait wasn't too bad since the staff serves everything quickly. We brought my husband to try and got their signature Pork & Egg Toast and Kimchi Omelette for his first visit. The food was as delicious as what i remembered, especially the toast. The texture of the toast was soft & puffy and the way they braised the pork was flavorful & tender.

Famous breakfast spot, we rushed down from our hotel to make it before they closed at 12pm. We got the top favourite - meat and egg toast, so yummy with their sauce and definitely hit the spot.

Such a fantastic breakfast place! Obsessed and wish they had a branch in Taipei but probably good thing for my health that they don't 🤣 really fantastic toast sandwiches, really affordable and satisfying and simple, and remind me so much of my childhood breakfasts in Taiwan ~ the classic pork slice and egg is very good but my ultimate favorite is the tuna salad and egg. The tuna salad is a good blend of sweet and savory with corn kernels mixed in ♡ the bread isn't toasted but in traditional super soft crustless white bread style. Their danbing is super good too, we tried kimchi and it has a lot of kimchi filling, super strong flavor! Only wish they had hot sauce or chilli sauce for condiments ~ Their iced Americano is really good too, strong and refreshing!! Next time I'm in Taichung I'll for sure come back and try the corn soup, pan fried dumplings, radish cakes and milk tea~~~ and of course get another tuna egg toast 😋💕 P.s. also got the ham and egg toast (good!) And strawberry jam toast (solid but personally wasn't a fan of the thick slimy jam texture) ~ service is super efficient and quick which is great seeing as it's so busy and popular ~

This coffee spot is all about the pancakes, and they definitely live up to the hype! Fluffy, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. While the coffee and service are fairly standard and the prices are a bit on the higher side, the pancakes alone make it worth the visit! 👍

Soufflé pancakes were very eggy and on the bouncier side. Slightly heavier than what I prefer but still tasty. Ordered the award winning peach coffee that looks cute but the taste was just diabetic. Will avoid.

They have a wife selection of pour over coffees. I thought it was a bit expensive at about $7.00 USD for a pour over coffee. My coffee was decent but not remarkable in any way for me personally. There are some nice sitting areas.

I came here with my friend, so we are 2 ppl. The staff told me if want to dine in, u have to order 2 drinks/menu. So I tried 2 different coffees. Taste good but the price is little bit expensive hahahaha

Very fluffy sofflee pancakes! the salads were also very tasty! good place to drop by for Tea time or a heavy brunch. They also have specialty coffee and tea for those caffine enthusiasts.

Amazing coffee and dessert cafe! Tried the award winning innovative coffee collection, it was really great. The green tea soufflé with red bean was also superb too. However, there is a long wait for the dessert to be baked. Went on a weekday afternoon, still seats available. Accept credit card.

Honestly, this is not my cup of coffee. The soybean taste is so so. Char Kuey is not really what i expected. Other dishes are also so so. The best is the place is big and comfortable. Overall, foods not really recommended.

Recommended by a local guide as the go to place to experience traditional breakfast and snacks. Really wasn't disappointed. Long queue that was fast moving. The signature soy bean milk with the distinctive burnt taste is to die for. Lots of signature dishes that really deliver.

20 years of operation! Most of service crew are senior citizens. Good and friendly service. This is authentic local soya bean drinks. With a bit of over burn taste, which is their signature. There are many variety of fried “dim sum” and Xiao long bao. 10 of us visited on a working Monday 11am. Not pack and fast service. We finished all dishes we ordered which were almost all the dishes.

Being a big fan of scallion cakes, I've high expectations of this place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the smell of fried eggs and onions and fresh flour, causing us to hasten our pace to find a seat. We ordered most of the available items and loved every single one. However, our personal favourite was the egg and scallion folded pancake.

We tried the mixed sausages breakfast, hazelnut coffee, macchiato coffee, French toast breakfast, mango smoothie, and panna cotta. What else? This is a Western-inspired Taiwanese brunch cafe with outside seating and a comfortable setting. My test breakfast is always a Benedict as it gives me the parameters I'm looking for. I like my muffin and bacon to be crispy which they weren't, the salad lightly dressed which it wasn't, the potatoes crsipy which they weren't, and my eggs to be free-range or organic which they weren't. Also, the prices are between NT250 and 350 which is not cheap. That said, the eggs were delighfully runny, the Hollandaise had a nice flavor and texture, and I was definitely full and feeling quite satisfied. My suggestion to the owner would be if you are doing well and your customers are happy and come back, don't change anything except try to get better quality eggs which is easy these dasy. If business is not that great then try to improve on some of the things I mentioned. I will check back in a few weeks.

I ordered Egg Benedict dish. Poached egg is too hard, not tender. Hollandaise sauce is not authentic, Canadian bacon is ok. Overall it is very different then what I normally had in New York.

Olimoto is a Taiwanese take on American food. Everything comes with a bottomless drink, so my wife had Sprite and I had lemon ice tea. The ice tea was pre-sweetened. You also get a fresh fruit shake, which was good. My wife had the Australian Farm Breakfast, which came with a chicken breast and ham. She liked it a lot and was very full when she finished it. I had the Mixed Sausages Breakfast, which came with four kinds of German Sausage. Some of the sausages did not differ that much from each other, but there were four distinct flavors. I was also happy and quite full. We would eat here again and might before we head back to the USA.

Food is good and particularly I like their corn soup; however, I regret trying their espresso and send smile special blend coffee... If you are a coffee lover, avoid drinking in this cafe and try the coffee shop next door.

The food not bad but the staff is non professional and the 3 of them plus the manager refused to change black bread which i don’t like with any other bread!! Even i ask can i remove it.. (No can not be).. ok can i order any other bread and i pay extra.. (no can not be).. is there any way i don’t get the black bread on my dish and only the egg.. no can not be.. they have 0 customer service level.. i am the one who will eat why would you force me on a bread I don’t like

I like the vibe of this place, easy and great music. Good food, plenty of space and a small Alfresco area. The drink isn’t that impressive tho, was expecting more of it. ( Hot chocolate )

Had the $150 Cuban sandwich+ black coffee Coffee was bland and had absolutely no flavour. The sandwich is a disaster, it should not be called a Cuban sandwich. It's a mockery of the real thing. Service was brisk and unattentive. Nothing Australian or London about this place. Would not visit again.

I’ve visited several times and had many of the sandwiches and coffee. It’s a place I come if I’m craving some good sourdough bread. But I recommend the grilled sandwich only. All the other open faced sandwiches are cold and lacks flavor. Even the bread just tastes bad when it’s not toasted on a skillet. It’s a nice little coffee shop, cozy atmosphere. The coffee is not bad but not particularly great. They roast their own beans but the taste isn’t that unique nor is the aroma. So probably wouldn’t consider buying the beans here to make my own coffee. The desserts attract me, they all look delicious and hand made and fresh. I would say the overall price is quite high, probably $400 a person if you want to eat a light meal. If it was priced more reasonably, I would probably make it my regular brunch spot.

I was looking forward to a meal at this place, I've eaten here before and it was pretty good, but was very disappointed when I realized that they have a one meal and one drink minimum order per person, which in my opinion, is just not justifiable. If I want a juice or a coffee later, I will order that after the meal, but to be forced to have to order ahead of time as a minimum requirement, doesn't work for me, so I left.

I have avoided this Starbucks for a long time because it's always a frustrating experience Always understaffed: you can't just come get a coffee, you have to make a big time commitment even for one drink. After waiting at least ten minutes in line for one group of four women to order drinks, finally a third barista showed up to take my order. I tried to buy a cup to replace a cup I liked, and I couldn't even pay money for it, it could only be bought with points, even though I have this silly points card already. The staff are lovely but there are never enough people working to handle all these orders. Poor management: only two employees available to serve customers during the lunch rush. There are 20 people in the restaurant, a Foodpanda driver waiting for an order, and cars in the drive through. Apparently at least one other employee was in the back eating lunch. More workers need to be scheduled to help during busy times. I wasted 30 minutes of my own time to walk there and back and only had time to buy a bottle of water as there was obviously going to be a long wait.

The location is good and the space is cozy, however the staffs are mechanical robots which makes a difference in each starbucks. The service of the staffs in this starbucks location should go thru a training.

It’s a nice cafe with good atmosphere. It’s not too busy or loud so you can study or work. But also nice enough for you to have a small gathering with friends. Service was good too. All the croissants pastries are delicious. The only thing is that wait is quite long for coffee… but it was delicious coffee. I do look forward to coming back to try some more of the desserts and entries on the menu.

This is one of the best location for Caffaina chains in Taichung. The café has one of the best patisseries in town at reasonable price. They have so many bakery options and many of which were really good. However, the staffs sometimes didn’t follow our request correctly, for example, we told the staff to dine in but they put the party in the bag and hand over to us which is not common from where we’re from

A very cozy cafe with lots of different dessert and drink options. They have lots of seating. The staff is friendly. They have an open kitchen allowing everyone to see what they are doing and how clean and organized they are. Their souffle is delicious. I know a lot of resemblance between them and Starbucks. Definitely worth going!

This place is great. Good coffee and was able to get a pour over too. Cakes and pastries look as good as they taste. The big windows and decor is awesome too. My only feedback is to eliminate the audio tone from the beepers to pick up your food/drinks. Annoying beepers going off every minute can get annoying.

Iconic coffee and bakery in Taichung. Comfortable decorations and seating area across two floors. Baked goods and desserts available in wide variety and reasonable pricing. Drinks are made to order and tastes better than most chain coffee house. The only downside would be parking space and crowded over weekends.

Everything is handmade here. I am for sure coming back next time. The taste is fantastic!

I am not posting for this stall, because I did not eat there. I was at a Vietnam Cafe opposite. The Vietnam Cafe is very good, authentic Vietnamese food, cooked by Vietnamese.

I’m not a huge Starbucks fan, but I found the Starbucks at this location comfortable. They have a large seating area upstairs away from the noise of the counter. I’m one of those weird people who enjoy sugar and creamer with my coffee. When I asked, the attendant provided both. However, nothing was provided with which to stir. I improvised.

Too busy. Upstairs a bit too crowded. A good shop anyway. Staff fast working. Service comfortably friendly. Staff real good at making drinks.

The second visiting and was quite disappointed with my experience.Their hash brown had a strong, unpleasant odor, almost like they were sprouting, and the taste was stale.We complained about it and we thought they were going to compensate us with a serving of potatoes popcorns for the issue, but to our surprise, the potatoes popcorns ended up being charged to our bill. On top of that, the service was lacking. The staff were constantly cleaning up the table before we were finished, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. I hope the restaurant improves both the food quality and customer service in the future. But the pancake was nice, 👌🏻 but not the tacos🌮……

An American style bar and restaurant that has American portions! The food is pretty typical of a diner (which is great when you are hankering for it). It's a little too much cheese for my taste (I will ask for a third of the cheese next time. 😂) The Bloody Mary was absolutely delightful with all the garnishes. We sat at the bar and it was warm that day. But we still had fun. It's also a dog friendly space.

great restaurant, staff was very friendly. we sat outside, wish we had sat inside.. there was a bit of smell from somewhere and other patrons would just walk off deck and smoke right next to us. A Prayer Temple is right across the street.

We ordered the set, just a little upset the waitress never reminded us of the big portion. The harsh brown is not the typical one we have in SIN. It is Rosti, not to my liking as there is a milky smell and not crispy enough. The rest were good, the sandwiches were great 👍. Pancakes were huge, and tasted good. Suggest to order one set to share with add-on.

Restaurant: Uptowner Taichung FOOD: My friend and I came for dinner yesterday and we had some finger foods, drinks and other things. 1) Quesadilla: It was the best dish of the night. We ordered the beef one. This is something I might order again. 2) Cheese Stick: For me it was average. Nothing special. And I didn’t like the portion. Just few ones. It can be more and with better presentation. It seems they just trow the sticks in the plate. 3) Pancake: Tasteless. And the size too big. It can be smaller and focus on giving flavour to this dish. 4) Tender Chicken: Ridiculous 🤢🤮 It was overtired and the French fries not crunch and hot at all, they came cold and soft. I guess it was made one week before. 5) Milkshake: it was really good. If I return, I’ll have this again for sure. 6) Beer: Beer is beer. No comments. When you order those finger foods, you can order 4 sauces. I like the Honey Mustard and also the Blue Cheese One. MENU: They have pictures and English Version. They also have some burgers and Breakfast/Brunch options. My friend loves their Chicken Wings. But I would rather go again for a brunch and not for a dinner. SERVICE: They do their job. Ordered a BLT and a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. The BLT is good, the bacon is crispy and the vegetables are fresh. Minor complains for I did request the waiter to put the spicy mayo on the side, and was not delivered. The pulled pork on the other hand, was not good. Though the texture of the pork is nice and tender, the sandwich was too salty. And lastly, the fries…,oh my god, it was one of the saddest fries I’ve ever tested, ever. It was saggy and fully soaked with cooking oil. Having bad fries at an American dinner, maybe a bit harsh to say, is not acceptable. I will recommend to switch the fries to hash-browns or bruit bows. I’m sure the other menu items must be better, for we saw a lot of the customers ordering Benedict eggs or pancakes. But I will not recommend the pulled pork and fries combo.

A disappointing experience for a flagship of this scale. Oscar failed to deliver the Starbucks standard at the till. Despite an empty queue upon entry, we were left waiting at the counter while the partners wondered on their tasks at hand until the Barista at the bar made a greeting. Oscar either had a bad day or isn't a good fit for the job at the till. The first customer touch point at the till is crucial to setting the tone for the experience of the visit. Perhaps, the store manager needs to provide more motivation for the partners or find better options to cultivate a proper Starbucks experience at this store.

It’s not just coffee, it’s an experience and a nice one. Various products and coffee for you to try, and the decor is amazing as well. Love that!

A good place to take a break or study. There are not many sockets than other branches. So it’s better to just chat with friends here or have a meeting with business partners.

Best starbucks in the city IMO. The staff is friendly, the daily coffee is kept fresh and ready even in off peak hours, and they have nitro coffee year-round unlike many other branches I've been to in the city. This location is also not overwhelming crowded compared to other locations on the weekends and it is quiet enough to have a conversation heard across the table. Well run.

"Travel portal" to Europe from Taiwan!? - Here I am in a remote (but not countryside) northern part of #Taiwan's big central city of #Taichung. (I'm here to help a local buddy expand his local business to a more international sphere.) The coffee latte was fantastic! And the freshly made fruit juice was a super treat! Just had a really yummy simple breakfast. But it seems the owner lady Liz has traveled to Europe, as she has adorned the interior with comfortable psuedo-retro European 1960s furniture, sells some Euro products like wine, Italian olive oil, and and muesli cereal. By coincidence, down the street I saw a European-style turret of the same genre seen perhaps in Austria or Germany. Being here makes me feel like I had stepped through a "travel portal" to Europe! Wow! Bravo! Taiwan is awesome!

SUPER nice place having meal with friends. The environment is really warming and comfortable for you sitting inside. I want to mention about the Corn Soup which is the best of the best corn soup I have ever tasted before. My main dish is green curry but this one tasted too light that didn’t match the original green curry taste.

Today I went to Starbucks and bought a cup of Ruby Grapefruit Alisha’s oolong tea. It tasted like water because it had too much ice. It cost 145 dollars so it wasn’t worth the money. However, the service was very good and it had good hygiene, too. If you like to drink flavored water, I definitely recommend it.

Good place to get out of the heat or rainy weather. However this a very noisy Starbucks so it’s not that great for relaxing conversations.

They do not make reservations and require long queuing if you have more than two people. I advice going to the restaurant at their opening time if you do not want to wait. However, food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Food were offered with a relatively low price. They were all delicious and tasty. They have some different animal toys on each table. It was a good idea which have made the whole environment friendly. Staff were nice and smart. Another concern would be stairs in the restaurant, we need to take the stairs in order to get to the tables. There is no lift so it might be inconvenient for some customers.

Their brunch was great, the meal size is perfect for me, the only thing can be improved is their tea, i asked for Earl Grey milk tea but they only can give me milk and tea separate :( Otherwise their services were great. And I like their place.

Very wasteful of plastic! The food is amazing but everything else is frustrating. Make sure to call first or the wait is long, and everyone in to reservation needs to be there, they wouldn't let me sit even though my friend was just parking the scooter. The menu is so hard to read, even for a Taiwanese person, we had to point to the picture on google to ask which one it is. I also noticed every single person had drinks with plastic cups, lids, and straws. I asked if we could have ours in a reusable cup and they said "no because of covid", meanwhile all the plates and silverware is reusable and to get the silverware you need to reach into a big bucket that everyone else there has also reached into, it doesn't make any sense. Finally, I said, can we at least have a paper cup and then said "no, that's only for hot drinks", as if something would explode if they poured a cold drink into a hot drink cup, so since I'd already paid I guilty just requested to please not have the lid or straw, but the drink was 50% ice so it wasn't so pleasant to drink anyway. I never would have thought I would need to bring my own dishes to a dine in restaurant but moral of the story is, if you care about the environment, make sure you bring your own cups.

This cafe was recommended by friend, and have a nice view on second floor. Have a lot variety cakes, pastries and bread, so much varieties that don't know which to choose. Overall mango thousand layer cake taste good and not too sweet, same go with the drink. Really a good place to chill and price wise is reasonable

The food was pretty good but not anything beyond what you can expect from other bakeries. The atmosphere however is well worth it if you manage to find a seat. It's a decent place to get some work done but it can be very busy. The drinks weren't all that good. Slightly on the bitter end. Prices were on the moderate end. Not expensive but not exactly cheap.

This store used to be good but it's an unorganized mess now. Today I waited 14 minutes for a regular black coffee. When I finally got it it had been sitting in front of me for 5 minutes but they wouldn't call out my number or hand it over to me. Does coffee need marinating like a steak or something? There were 5 staff behind a small counter who were constantly bumping into each other, spilling drinks and generally making a mess. I saw people who came later than I did get served before myself, who arrived early. It was like the animals were running the zoo. The male Barista with an English name Mark looked absolutely overwhelmed, spilled my coffee twice, and then a clueless female clerk grabbed it off him and put it sideways into the bag. So of course it spilled. So I waited 15 minutes for a regular hot coffee, then when I get it, it as cold as ice and then you spill it? You dare to charge me 100+ ntd for such a rubbish service? If I'm the manager I would fire all of you. I recommend everyone avoids this overpriced junk and go to a 7/11 and grab a coffee there instead! At least there you can guarantee it will be served hot, fast and packaged correctly.

Everything is great! Very clean and fast service. The only thing is that staffs are chatting very loudly, like you are shouting to the person next to you at the concert.

The perfect place to chill and get work done, there are two floors if you are unable to find a seat downstairs, just be careful on those stairs going up.

One of my favorite brunch place in Taichung. Kind of Japanese touch to its cuisine, salad is always refreshing. Baked French bread with spicy fish eggs tasted really unique. Coffee and juices come with decent portion. More seats at the upper floor. You could enjoy a cozy sunny afternoon here.

I was told Taichung has the highest coffee shop density. I don't know for use, but I did run into many coffee shops during my stay. Mezamashi is a neighborhood cafe. They sell light lunch and beverages. I order a medium roster Amaericano and try to get some relaxing time. The environment is quite bright and clean. I did enjoy the time sitting here, but the coffee is to be desired. For less than half of the price you can enjoy a nicer one at any 7-11 or Family Marts. Despite my disappointment, it is a nice afternoon hangout. If you are not picky about your coffee.

I was not a fan of this restaurant. I got the toastie lunch. The chicken was kind of undercooked, the eggs were cold, and the fruit juice tasted like a lot of broccoli.

A decent place for lunch and work. Ordered panini with a salad on the side and hot soy milk. Panini was great, fresh and hot. However the salad was quite bland... And sausage was a bit sad. Overall solid 4 stars.

Best brunch place in Taichung for sure!! I’ll definitely come back! Avocado toast I ordered tastes just like the ones I had in California. Vegetables are very fresh. St Honore is a combination of crunch, flakey, and soft texture. A little on the sweet side. Oat Milk Latte tastes mildly sweet with aromatic coffee. Bread tastes very authentic, fresh, and well made. I can taste the quality ingredients.

Food Great quality of ingredients which can be seen through the high demand of customers. Great and wide selection of desserts! However, I found a hair in the bread of my toast????? It took a while to bring the food, I get it. It's made fresh. But by judging the amount of customers and the tables already serviced it took too long for us to get the order to actually eat together and enjoy a meal with friends which was our plan. Service & Service Fee of 10% I am not sure why the second floor was not available and reservations aren't possible because literally, they can manage the amount of people waiting for a table, and arrange a timing or the lay out of the tables for everyone to have the right sitting. We were offered to sit on a shared big table after 30 minutes of wait. The table was free since we signed up on the waiting list. There were tables outside, available No one asked us if we wanted to sit outside or inside. We could've skipped the 30 min. Wait. Payment They give only one QR code per tablet but I think they should ask if we want the tab to be paid separately. I almost get charged my friend's food. Service We weren't offered enough napkins for the amount of people there or were asked, at least once, if everything was okay with our order. Which annoys me because the restaurant charges a 10% service fee for this? I am not sure if this is even legal. Because I don think it's fair.

Unfortunately their French toast has been downgraded from the amazing photos of 3+ years ago as can easily be seen. Still it’s a tasty custard French toast, just not as good with toppings as in the past. Enjoyed the sourdough and fig salad as well. Also, be prepared to wait a long time in line just for takeout even if you just want one or two things, if customers in front happen to have a monster order. I would have left my table sooner (I wanted more to-go near the end of our meal) so those waiting could sit if they would’ve let me pay; little did I know two people in front could waste 5-10 min. 🤦🏻‍♂️They need another checkout machine! Revisit: sandwich is really good; don’t bother with the egg on croissant though since it will make the croissant soggy over time. Appreciate that they can still slice a half loaf of bread for you if requested. You can buy various cured meats to go as well!

Chill atmosphere, very good service, free parking, and great food. The St. Honore' cake was super good. The service has some issues. We were on the waiting list with two small groups ahead of us. They were seated, and then we had to wait quite a while to get seated. Usually, this isn't an issue, but there were open seats at a large shared table and one of the 4 tops. It's annoying, and it detracts from the overall experience.

Update: The food is still amazing! Quality is impeccable. We enjoyed our brunch here. It’s EXPENSIVE! 3 slices of baguette is $103, 2 slices of nut bread is $154. It’s delicious and beautiful though. Best baguette I had in Taichung. I am shock that this price is more than in taipei. Avocado and salad is so fresh and yummy. French toast is bake just right, crispy outside and soft inside with perfect balance of the flavors. No need to add any maple syrup. Banana on top is icing on the cake.

Good brunch spot for bread, pastries and breakfast food, but coffee was on the expensive side and is not good. Bread orders can be reheated and sliced for customers. They have free parking in their space which is a major bonus!

Great place for brunch! It’s quite a popular place the locals go, coffee is decent and the food is good. All the baked goodies are done well :) It gets busy on the weekends, best to go on week days :)

The coffee was weak and on the sour side, but my fancy avocado on toast with eggs hit the spot. The interior was spacious and comfortable. We had a party of four and everyone's food came around the same time (a rarity in Taiwan), which was fantastic because we were famished after running a half marathon. The sour dough bread was nice though not as sour as I would have liked. It was overall an enjoyable experience.

A bit pricey to be honest. They serve something you don’t usually see in Taichung. If you like avocado then this is the place. Coffe is pretty good, I had a flat white and it’s quite balanced with a hint of acidity.
