1Mother Goose Hotel

Hotel
Nestled in the heart of Utrecht, Mother Goose Hotel is a boutique hotel housed in a 14th-century building with charming period features. This eco-certified hotel offers 23 luxury bedrooms adorned with exposed stone walls, showcasing its rich history. Guests can enjoy amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, tour assistance, and bicycle rentals. The on-site restaurant and cafe provide dining options while room service is available during limited hours. With its central location near attractions like Oudegracht and St.
We stayed at Mother Goose Hotel from July 19–22, 2025, in one of their Suites, and had a fantastic experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless—perfect for two adults and a toddler. We especially loved the view overlooking the square, and the large windows let in a lovely breeze while keeping any street noise out thanks to excellent insulation. The hotel provided a pack and play for our toddler, and the bathtub was a huge plus for bath time. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, which made arrival and departure hassle-free. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Utrecht, with everything within easy walking distance and a quick, simple trip to the central train station. While we didn’t use the hotel amenities, the staff stood out for their friendly, easy-going attitude and for being genuinely helpful with restaurant recommendations. Overall, we found the Mother Goose Hotel to be a great value for the money. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Utrecht, especially families looking for a spacious and comfortable place to stay.

My favourite hotel in Utrecht. Small but lovely rooms, well set up with good coffee and toiletries. In a great spot close to everything and very comfortable large beds.

I could not have been happier with our stay at the Mother Goose Hotel in Utrecht. A small, cozy boutique hotel located in the heart of the city. I loved the location - a ten minute walk to Centraal, beautiful canals are just a minute away, six minutes to Dom Tower, seventeen minutes to the museums - you can get anywhere from here on foot or bike. The hotel itself is small, but charming. It really gave the feel of having a small place of our own in Utrecht as opposed to staying at a hotel. The lobby is small, but quaint, and our room was simply beautiful. We had a medium-sized room on the Grey Goose Floor, and I couldn't have been happier. The bed was super comfortable, and noise was not an issue for us during our stay (on a weekend). The bathroom situation was a little different - the sink and shower stall were in a little alcove in the room, and the toilet was in a VERY small closet-like room. I was worried that the room would be steamy/humid when the shower was in use, but I was pleased to see that it did not occur. The A/C (always pleasant to find in this type of hotel in Europe) and TV worked perfectly. There is no dresser, and the wardrobe was very small, but it worked for our 2-night stay. There's no fridge in the room, but you can use one in the lobby. The elevator is small, but efficient and VERY appreciated. It wouldn't have been fun to lug luggage up those charming Dutch steps! I wish I had gotten the name of the staff who worked (August 23 & 24) - because they couldn't have been more professional, helpful, or polite, and really enhanced our stay. The place was spotless, not only would I go back, I plan to.

Great location with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I arrived early so left my luggage and wandered around until my room was ready . Had a great breakfast at Vegitalian , would not hesitate to add on the breakfast package . Well-detailed rooms in a great area. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t be disappointed.

First time visiting Utrecht, to drop daughter off for a semester of university here. The kindness and professionalism of the hotel staff was amazing. Their attention to details that make your stay convenient and comfortable are impressive. Great central location, lots of dining and shopping and historic sites. I would stay again, absolutely!

Mother Goose is the cozy hideaway you need during your stay in Utrecht! The room is comfortably decorated and well insulated from the sounds of the city. We enjoyed the space and the rooftop views. You can choose your own adventure and take the stairs or the elevator depending on the floor you are staying on!
Kaitlin R — Google review
Loved our time here! We arrived early and they stored our bags for us while we went and explored. When we returned, not only did we find that we had been given a free upgrade, but they had brought our bags up for us! Super nice staff and lovely rooms. The bed was comfy, the view and location were amazing.
Karen L — Google review
The room was very hot and noisy, struggled to sleep. Breakfast was expensive, but we bought some food at the supermarket and had it at the table in the lobby which was a nice space. Staff were very helpful. Everything was fine except that it was hard to sleep with the noise from the street below and various generators going on all night. If you're sensitive to notice avoid this place!

Eye Hotel is a trendy boutique hotel located in a 17th-century former eye hospital in Utrecht. The 36 vintage-style rooms are adorned with artwork and objects related to eye care, paying homage to the building's history. Each room features comfortable beds, desks, and ensuite facilities. The hotel offers wonderful views of the city and is centrally located, making it an ideal base for exploring Utrecht.
We had a wonderful room with big windows overlooking the front. There was a fabric market there on Sunday morning. It’s a little bit of a walk to center of town but worth it for high quality of the hotel. We were pretty close to a popular bus stop too, and the amazing old post office. We didn’t eat breakfast there but it looked good from what we saw. We were given free access to the coffee machine all day, which was great. Bed was very comfortable. Only wish there had been a piece of furniture in the room to put my suitcase. There was enough space for something of this sort. I told the hotel clerk the problem and she was great - she brought me a crate up from the basement to use and it worked fine. A suggestion to management would be to have a collapsible luggage rack in the room.
Laurie I — Google review
It's a good hotel just out of the centre in a quiet part of Utrecht. I booked a twin bedded room for my friend and I. Upon arrival we were informed we'd been given an upgrade. When we entered the room I was a bit dismayed that there was a king sized bed that could've been split in to 2 singles but hadn't been, and a single pull out sofa bed. I should have gone down immediately to complain but I didn't and I regret this as the bed was uncomfortable and my back suffered more with each passing day. The glass vase on the floor was really dusty. During cleaning a wet towel was left on my bed, this was obviously an oversight. It was difficult to get into the shower and close the door as the door opened inwards and there wasn't much room to manoeuvre past the soap holder... Otherwise the room was quiet and spacious. Lovely to have a separate loo and the sinks set away from the shower allowed more privacy. Staff were polite and there's free water, tea and coffee in the breakfast area which was a lovely touch. If we'd had the twin beds it would've been a bit more positive but it's a good hotel nonetheless and I'd still recommend it.
Gaynor B — Google review
Unique, hotel in Utrecht with well appointed spacious rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. It’s an old building so expect some creaking floorboards etc and some steep stairs (very typical in The Netherlands). Quirky layout with separate shower and toilet cubicles. Little details like removing small areas of mould in grouting of shower and scuffs on stairwell walls could raise rating. Excellent location for restaurants and markets etc. would consider staying again if ever back in Utrecht.
Michael M — Google review
Probably our favorite hotel on the whole trip! The hotel was a great combination of charming, quaint, and completely modern. Things like separate rooms for showers and toilets were a welcome addition, and everything like room service, wifi, enormous breakfast, and helpful staff were there in spades. One of the few locations that not only has free coffee, but free sodas daily as well. Cannot recommend this place enough, it has everything you'd want in a lovely visit. Only complaint was that I'd rented what I thought to be e-bikes but were regular 3-speed bikes, so less relaxing than I'd originally hoped.
Lynnea G — Google review
Excellent location. The reception staff was very helpful with opening the gate for parking our rented bicycles. We enjoyed the coffee maker which was always available. Our room was a very nice size with a small couch, coffee maker and wardrobe closet.
D P — Google review
Nice boutique hotel located few minutes away from the center of the town. Public parking is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Calm and nice area. Family room was with a king bed and double bed which kids obviously loved it.
ZinBok Y — Google review
Small but personal hotel with great staff and service. A nice lounge to hang out in with free coffee. The hotel is perfectly located in city centre, 12 min walk to train station and restaurants, bars and shopping just outside the door.
Robert H — Google review
Perfectly situated in the heart of the city, providing easy access to attractions.Proximity to local landmarks made our stay unforgettable. Room was spotless, and the facilities were well-maintained.The hotel's cleanliness surpassed my expectations. Bed was very comfortable.Room was spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with all necessary amenities. Really recommended place to stay, if you want to explore beautiful Utrecht. Thank you!

Grand Hotel Karel V is a luxurious hotel located in a historic 14th-century monastery just outside the bustling center of Utrecht. The hotel offers 121 stately rooms and suites furnished with luxury amenities. Guests can enjoy two restaurants with charming waterside terraces, as well as a wellness center for relaxation. The former military hospital has been transformed into an upscale accommodation, offering large guest rooms with elegant furnishings.
We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for our wedding in Utrecht. The service that we received was exceptional. The team is beyond helpful and kind, they were willing to go above and beyond to make the experience smooth for us and all of our guests. We strongly recommend this hotel for anybody that wants the convenience of walkability into the lovely city while still feeling like there is peace and quiet in their gorgeous gardens. A true sanctuary from the stresses of the outside world.

Dated, tired and 5 star in name only. Broken glass, dirty trays, tired decor, clueless staff. I booked here to have access to the restaurants in the complex. Unfortunately they do not keep any space aside for hotel guests. I asked to reserve a table on check-in and was told no availability. After 4 phone calls and 2 members of staff I was told I could sit at the bar. Wow. 5 star apparently. When I turned up to the brassiere I was turned away again. Then they had to call the restaurant manager, who made a point of telling me how lucky I am to be able to eat at the hotel, and how the hotel terms and conditions guarantee nothing. All I can see here is a tired property being run into the ground. I felt embarrassed at the situations I encountered. Avoid this place. ***Update: on check out I found that the hotel tried to overcharge me. I stayed alone yet I saw 2 breakfasts billed both days. After an hours argument the breakfasts were removed and I was expected to be grateful. Joke of a hotel***
Benjamin S — Google review
Wonderful hotel! We stayed here as a family for two nights and three days. The hotel, converted from a former monastery, has a rich sense of history while still feeling very clean and comfortable, with a wonderful atmosphere overall. The hotel itself is great, but what truly stood out was the breakfast buffet—it was the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever had in my life. Although it’s a bit pricey, it’s absolutely worth trying at least once. I especially loved the wide variety of cheeses and the made-to-order options like freshly prepared Eggs Benedict and hot chocolate brought right to your table. The only small issue we noticed was that after housekeeping came in, the cups—though washed—still had faint coffee ring stains inside. That said, overall it was an outstanding hotel, and we would definitely love to stay here again.
Akane S — Google review
This hotel is historic and lovely. Located on a small river along a wooded walking path. We were only there for one night so we really didn’t get the full experience ie breakfast tour etc. The grounds are beautiful and I bet it would be wonderful to stay there for a few days to fully experience it. A wedding or holiday there would be fabulous. Also a very short walk to town. The service was also extremely professional. So why the 4 stars? For $300 we were not staying in the main hotel but what seems to be an annex which was only accessible by walking outside even in the rain. They clearly were not full but chose to put the Americans in a ground floor room with a view on the parking lot. When someone backed their car up towards my room door I thought they were backing straight into the room. Therefore our blinds were shut the whole time. Why not give us a nicer room in a better location? It would have been costless for them. Anyway would I stay there again? I think it’s a definite maybe. Should you stay there? A definite maybe.
David V — Google review
Slow service, but nice, polite and friendly. Wonderful location with excellent rooms and atmosphere. Highly recommend it, but beware of slow and rigid dining services though the food is good . In the end you may find it charming (once you get over your jetlag) 😁
Knut V — Google review
To the esteemed Hotel Management, I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the service I received during my checkout on September 13, 2025. I would like to begin by mentioning that my initial experience at your hotel was quite positive. The two receptionists who assisted me upon check-in were exceptionally polite. I had informed them about my flight departure time, which was around 8 PM, and they graciously acknowledged the possibility of a one or two-hour extension for my checkout. Regrettably, the experience on the day of my departure was markedly different. While I fully understand and respect the check-in and check-out times as outlined on your website—3 PM check-in and 11 AM check-out—I politely requested a one-hour extension on the morning of my departure. However, the receptionist on duty, whom I had not previously encountered, responded with a lack of courtesy. He abruptly informed me that I needed to leave immediately, without any polite language or understanding. Upon returning from breakfast shortly after 11 AM, I discovered that my room key had been deactivated. I was required to wait approximately 20 minutes downstairs to have it reactivated. Upon returning upstairs, the key still did not function. This occurred repeatedly, necessitating multiple trips up and down and causing a significant inconvenience. Ultimately, not only was my request for a brief extension denied, but I was also subjected to further discourtesy. Two staff members even came to the room and requested that I vacate the premises, repeatedly emphasizing this point. Subsequently, the same receptionist contacted the room, reiterating the demand to leave immediately and threatening a late checkout charge, which I had neither requested nor utilized. Furthermore, I was charged an additional 25 euros for a late checkout that I did not experience. Adding to the situation, I observed that the receptionist treated other guests with politeness while exhibiting a distinctly rude demeanor towards me. This disparity led me to feel as though I was being unfairly treated, which is, of course, unacceptable. In summary, the behavior of this particular staff member significantly detracted from an otherwise pleasant stay at your hotel. I kindly request a refund of the 25 euros charged for the late checkout fee and respectfully urge you to address this matter to prevent similar experiences for future guests. Considering the limited time I have available, I may consider pursuing legal action against the hotel, potentially online, as this experience has been quite distressing.
Mohammed A — Google review
Although the stay and location were excellent, I am forced to leave a negative review because of a serious and ongoing issue. For more than a year since my booking, I have continuously received invoices containing other guests’ personal details in my email inbox. This is a clear breach of privacy and GDPR regulations. Despite contacting the hotel multiple times, the problem has not been resolved. I still receive invoices meant for other clients, most recently this week. This is not only careless but also dangerous for every guest whose private information may be shared without consent. Until this issue is properly fixed, I strongly advise caution when booking here.

This is the 7th time we stayed at Karel V on our vacations to The Netherlands. Karel V is the best luxery hotel in the Netherlands. Gorgeous spacious charming rooms. I recommended the old building Napoleontic rooms. The building and courtyard are magnificent. Originating from the 13 hundreds and more recently a veterans hospital in the Napoleontic era. The hotel is right in the center of the old town of Utrecht. It is also very well located as a hub to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Did I mention the breakfast!

BUNK Hotel Utrecht is a laid-back hostel located in a converted 1893 church, offering a unique and airy restaurant/bar and complimentary Wi-Fi. Situated in the Utrecht Province region, this hotel is just 300 meters from TivoliVredenburg and Conference Center Vredenburg. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, shared lounge, and an on-site restaurant.
My partner and I came to spend a night in this unusual and tastefully decorated hotel. We slept in the epic room and we were not disappointed. Functional room, very clean and comfortable, possibility of obtaining information via television, provision of everything necessary for a shower... In addition, the hotel staff is very pleasant and the breakfast was a delight. We will return on our next trip to Utrecht. Thanks !

My husband and I stayed 1 night in Bunk in the most epic room, it was wonderful, the bed was huge and so comfortable, the bath was an absolute joy. We had come over the night before on the ferry and I hadn't slept, so the luxury of this room was the restoration I absolutely needed. The hotel itself is amazing, we were astounded by the building and it's obviously a popular choice in the area given how busy it was. I'd recommend this to anyone staying in the area
Liv G — Google review
Amazing hotel that lingers with youth, full of polite staff, would say on the pricier side, but is worth it. Stayed for two nights, wonderful location nearby the canal and a beautiful park, with typical Dutch streets at the other side of the building. Very close to the center as well (shopping, train station..). Stayed in a room for two on the first floor, I don’t know if it was because it was friday, but you could hear the music and people’s conversations from the downstair bar pretty clearly, not that it’s necessarily distracting, but if you want total silence, I recommend booking a room on the second floor. I also loved the cat

A brief walk from the train, and five minutes from downtown. Staff were supportive when I checked in and struggled with the locker system. Interesting space in an old church, made for a funky vibe. The private pod room I rented was mostly a bed, and I felt cozy in it. A small bathroom/toilette space, with good hot water and pressure. I loved this place for one night, and felt safe staying there while travelling alone.

I just adore those hostel/hotel for so many reasons. Location, space and the lovely staff. Nice vibe all over the hotel. Great beer and clean. I booked a bunk in shared dorm. Nice size space. Clean and fresh. Showers and toilets all great (many of them too) . Nice pillow and comforter. Only thing I wish for is some kind tape/stop for the little ladder to the upper bunks. A little slippery. I can HIGHLY recommend this location in Utrecht. I will be back for sure:

Amazing stay! The atmosphere was unique, modern, and cozy at the same time. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Utrecht. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Definitely coming back!

WALKING THROUGH A MUSEUM The design and style of the Bunk hotel is very special to me. Walking through the building with all the stylish and funny details, made me feel thrilled; nearly as walking through a museum! Only the corridors and lockers at the pods downstairs, were too small to handle for me. Luckely I had the opportunaty to change to another pod first floor and floorlevel as well. Sleeping at the pods was perfect: quiet, not to warm and with good privacy. A pity was for me that Bunk doesn't offer a little help yourself kitchen. But overall I enjoyed my stay and the extremely friendly hosts and waitresses. The vibe was always positive! The reason for my stay was to have a break from serious troubles with my neighbors at home. After telling this, Sophie, the host was compassionate and very sympathic. Thanks a lot for this understanding.
David V — Google review
Stayed here a night because of a concert. I was really surprised on how well everything was for the money I paid. Absolutely no complaints! The location is also great, next to Tivoli, next to Hoog Catherijne and close to the central station. And walking into the old church really has something! Will stay again!

The Nox Hotel Utrecht is a sophisticated boutique hotel located in the heart of the city, housed in a beautifully transformed 17th-century building. The hotel offers 23 rooms that are elegantly decorated with calming colors and lunar-themed accents, providing a luxurious and comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy modern amenities such as Chromecast and Bluetooth speakers. Sustainability is a key focus for the hotel, evident through features like the vertical garden at the rear of the building.
A lovely boutique hotel, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was well equipped with a lovely coffee machine, speciality tea and filtered water. The bathroom was clean and also well equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, which is not always provided. We had breakfast on one day, because it was quite expensive, but it was excellent quality, beautifully presented and served with a smile. Our room was small, which is the only reason I gave 4 stars for that. All in all, it was excellent value and I would highly recommend.
Chloe G — Google review
So the bedroom that I stayed in was the sort of flagship bedroom, I suppose, of the hotel. It features the main page on the website and had a bath sort of on a balcony above the bed, which was beautiful. And it had its own balcony. It had lovely windows with beautiful views of the Utrecht city, I suppose, the main attractions like the clock tower and stuff like that. So beautiful, amazing views. Bathtub was really good, balcony private, nice big spacious room, but overall it needed some work. So here's some of the criticisms. Paintwork was a bit shabby, very, very dusty all over the room. The towels were of a cheaper nature and not what you'd expect in a luxury hotel. There wasn't many PowerPoints in the room. Had a USB by the bed, but no mini-USC, which I think needs to be updated in a hotel that are charging so much for such a room. You should have the latest sort of PowerPoints and stuff. The water that they give you, most hotels give you a nice bottle of water. This hotel was like a bottle of tap water, which you just filled up. It tasted a bit funny. It wasn't like a quality brand of water that you would expect. Overall though, pretty good. The food in the restaurant was superb. Really enjoyed that. And yeah, the service and the staff that I did meet were all wonderfully friendly and helpful. There was no iron in the room, but they bought me one straight away when I asked. And that was good. I think that's about sums up my review.

A very warm welcome at the reception desk when checking in. Great the have car parked just behind the hotel. Access card for hotel en rooms works perfectly, that's not always the case at other hotels. Room (101) was great! Felt like a mini-apartment with bath on balcony above bed, and spacious bathroom downstairs. Takes a bit to find out how the beautiful retro coffee machine works, and maybe one thing to improve; I really mist a small refrigerator in the room. Breakfist could be a little bit earlier than 8 o''clock, i.e. 7:30 hrs. Anyways.., I love to come back!

This hotel is in an ideal location to walking to the central sites of Utrecht. We had the family sleeper room and the room was very good. The bathroom set up was slightly odd, but worked well enough. We booked online and were greeted with a free glass of champagne on arrival.

Yesterday, me and my girlfriend immersed ourselves under the stars in The NOX hotel in Utrecht City Centre. We had an absolute blast of a time and enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer: a welcome drink at the bar, an incredible dinner experience at Hemel & Aarde (totally recommend to go there when you stay at The Nox) with passionate waiters like Jimmy and Daan and a night under the stars! Our room was very clean and spacious with a view on the famous Dom Tower. Totally recommend staying here and experiencing the hotel for yourself!

I had a very pleasant stay at the Nox hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the service was great. One of the most notable features is its central location in the heart of Utrecht's old town, surrounded by numerous restaurants and bars.

Exceptional stay in Utrecht! The front desk team is very helpful. We planned our trip last minute and they were able to help us find accommodations at their sister hotel, Mother Goose, when they didn't have availability for the full stay. The room had lovely personal touches and the church bells could not be heard throughout the night.

A beautiful boutique hotel in the center of Utrecht. The location is wonderful and the building has been beautifully renovated. Easy walking distance from restaurants and sites. Lovely morning run along the canal. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel is very relaxed. I would stay again if in the city.

Court Hotel City Center Utrecht is a charming and centrally located hotel situated between Utrecht's famous landmarks, the Dom Tower and Museum Catharijne Convent. The hotel offers 27 individually designed rooms for solo travelers or couples, as well as spacious suites in cellars along Utrecht's canals for families or groups. Guests can enjoy a European restaurant/bar with a terrace.
This is my third stay, and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful, and the rooms are both cosy and stylish. I especially love the beds - super comfy. The only minor drawback is the heating system; finding the perfect temperature can be challenging as it tends to swing between too warm and too cold. Additionally, on rainy days at the top floor, the ventilation sometimes creates a slight odor. Despite these small issues, it remains a truly wonderful hotel.

The location was incredible. Five stars for location! The staff was very kind and attentive. Two big cons to consider. The first is the climate control within the rooms. Very difficult to control, and the rooms were consistently hot and stuffy, which made it hard to sleep. Second, the breakfast is a joke. Avoid at all costs. The selection is incredibly minimal and Not worth it.

Absolutely loved it, from the very friendly greeting at reception, to the beautiful room, the overall hotel it very well kept and very clean and tidy, the staff are so lovely and a credit to the hotel, they made us feel so welcome, nothing was any trouble, the evening meal we had was also very nice and at a reasonable price. We will be more than happy to stay again. Thank you 😊

Like other reviews, location is great, very central so you have lots of attractions within reach. Personally I found lots of cons. The males staffs are really nice to me. I talked to two and found they were helpful and attentive. The female one gave me rather curt answers and I had to press more to get help and Info. One of them asked the male receptionist “will you really do that” when he said he would take the luggages to my room which is detached from main building where they the reception is. She asked this in front of me. In english. Disbelieve what she heard, I guess. So did I, when she asked. The hotel is catered more to business functions. Probably small local books. I assume this because the reception counter is direct in the foyer, right in front of their main door under their staircase and 2 meter wide. There wasn’t a lobby. I didn’t see any sofa to sit on. I guess guests should wait at one of their restaurant tables or bar tables which seem to have couches resembling “reception” a little more. I stayed in the underground room right next to one of Utrecht’s small canals. Room door opened inward and halfway. Because there is this drain pipe blocking it. At night I could hear each car drove by. Because the alley is right above me. Shower was moldy and shower soap was almost empty. Its bottle looked neglected. Wifi didn’t work. Signal was weak. I couldn’t use from my bed. TV also had weak signal. It froze constantly. But the room is premium. You pay extra from these. So, yep I am afraid to see their normal rooms. Two stars I gave, i gave for the men who manned the desk. Poor them

Lovely staff. Large clean rooms with blasting air conditioning (surprising around Europe). The beds are amazing. One of the, possibly the, best bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. If you like a soft pillow-y bed this hotel is for you. Nice bathrooms with a large shower. The location is great, convenient from the train station and all the sights. Very quiet as well.

It is a good hotel, but I am writing this review because one of the people at the front desk was extremely kind. I had missed the included breakfast service due to jet lag, and I had already thought that I would just grab a cup of coffee and something there anyways because I didn't have time to look anywhere else. One girl at the front desk suggested I try to see anyways because they had a lot left over. I looked but they were packing up so I went to the cafe side, and ordered a coffee. A couple minutes later the front desk girl searched me out and said that she could bring me a plate of stuff that was left over from breakfast, and that she could get the cook to make some kind of egg if I wanted. I accepted and she said it was no charge. I really appreciate her unexpected kindness. Highly recommend.

Great location, alright. However... the TV in my room didn't work and I got a free breakfast on my 2nd day. Thank you. The stench from the bathroom (not used) stank up my room for 2 days & 2 nights straight!! And ... this is the only hotel in the world where the sun symbol on the AC means "cooling"? The heating thermostat is one dysfunctionimg box with the same steady temperature... Really, Utrecht? This is a fail, unfortunately 😕

The Rietveld Schröder House, a UNESCO-listed architectural gem, was designed by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld in the 1920s. This innovative residence showcases multifunctional spaces and forward-thinking design elements. It features retracting walls that transform the lower living area into private rooms at night and a communal space during the day. The house reflects the influential De Stijl design movement with its distinctive form, use of color, and pioneering abstraction.
How a furniture maker becomes an architect. How 2 people inspire eachother and are way ahead of time and space. If you are in Utrecht, this is an absolute must. Attention: reserve a spot online and weeks before your visit!.

Wonderful experience and a fascinating house. It’s worth a side trip from Amsterdam if you’re interested in 20th century architecture. It is mostly a self-guided tour with an audio player. Make sure you know how it operates before you leave the office to begin the tour. Guides there were very helpful with equipment. It’s worth reading/listening to all the extra bits at each stop. Afterwards we went to the tiny Japanese coffee cafe in back (built in the former garden shed for the house) and it was very good.
Laurie I — Google review
I love modernist architecture and this house was a fascinating example. While we were there, one of the guides moved all of the walls so we could see how the open plan looked. It’s a short tram ride and then a 10 minute walk from the Utrecht central station. If you love architecture and design, it’s worth the visit, even on a day trip from Amsterdam.
Mahinder K — Google review
I find this house a timeless exploration of form, function, and color. What impresses me most is the seamless integration of movable walls and sliding panels, allowing the interior to transform dynamically according to the needs of its inhabitants. This level of spatial adaptability was revolutionary for its time (1924) and remains inspiring today. The house is not only an architectural icon but also a profound statement about how design can influence daily life — balancing simplicity, geometric clarity, and a playful use of space. It’s a must-visit for anyone passionate about modernism and architectural history.
Ilaria G — Google review
I was there 25 years ago and was now able to bring my kids there. Its now a self guided tour but someone was present to demonstrate the moving walls and answer questions. Any architecture fan owed it to themselves to see this masterpiece.

Amazing! It looks like a normal, modern house built yesterday but this one was designed 100 years ago! It definately deserves a WHS designation. Entry at 19 Euro is rather exagurated...

One of the greatest architectural attractions to see in Netherlands. It really impressive to see something so progressive in the pretty conservative neighborhood. You should pay attention to working hours and book tickets in advance because they have a tight schedule with groups and short working hours. Tickets can also be bought next door. People working there are kind are ready to explain everything. There is a nice coffee shop on the right and paid street parking is in front of the property. Definitely worth a visit.
Jovan R — Google review
If you are an architecture buff, this is a must see. It's a gorgeous 30 minute walk along safe streets and through parks from the train station. I *knew* that the appeal of the design was the movable walls. I didn't *understand* until I was standing in the space. Incredible, special, and peaceful. Staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful. Get your tickets ahead of time (it says so clearly on the website)-the house is too small to accommodate walk ins.

Guests can choose from three categories of luxurious suites, each featuring king-size beds and exquisite ensuite facilities to ensure a comfortable stay.
Clean and beautiful room with high ceiling. Staff was super nice. Gets a bit loud because it’s in a busy street but they provide you with earplugs. Would definitely stay here again.
Simon — Google review
Location of the hotel is perfect for a city tour. Hotel room is large. Bathroom right next to the bed takes some getting used to. Room was not clean. The windows have not been cleaned for a very long time and the elevator moves in slow motion. Absolutely unacceptable: Suddenly the door was opened and someone looked into the room. No knocking, no apology (not even after complaining to reception). Food is ordinary, unseasoned and only average quality. The hotel breakfast offers no choice and was not to our taste. As was the music, which was far too loud. The staff consists of nice, hard-working but unprofessional young ladies. Everything seems deliberate and not skillful. The double room cost around €200 for one night. Not worth it by far. All in all, not recommendable.

the rooms are very clean and have a lot of space. the old fashioned style is very charmy and I liked it. we had some small problems but the service was good so they helped us really fast. the breakfast was quite good. in the night it can get loud, we were unfortunate the first night because the other guests were really loud but after that it was quite okay. i still recommend earplugs because you hear the dome and cars if they drive trough the alleyand sometimes people laughing/shouting etc. In general it was a pleasure and I'd recommend it.

Great tourist hotel, not such a great fit for a business traveler. The location of this place is great, just off the central part of the old canal area of Utrecht, right next to the Dom tower (more about that later), and walking distance to everywhere (20 minute saunter to train station). The room was comfortably appointed, though the room that I stayed in has no semblance of privacy for bathing, so if you're into bathing in private then it might not be for you because the tub and the shower open right into the room. The toilet at least has it's own door. However, it's obvious upon first contact that this is a cafe that's trying to run a hotel and not the other way around. While not unique, the Dutch insistence on punctuality working bilaterally is on full display here. Arriving here after a 18 hour flight and train ride, I had the misfortune of getting here too early for check-in (15:00). They were kind enough to hold my bags while I wandered around Utrecht in a sleep deprived stupor for a few hours but really couldn't (wouldn't) budge on accommodating an early check-in. Come 15:00, no problem but at 14:45, no-go. A couple days later, getting ready for a day of work, at 7:30 the cafe was deserted and once again that bilateral punctuality came into play. Having places to get to early in the work day, an earlier start to the day would have been helpful, but 8:00 is the time and 8:00 it will be. The offerings for breakfast are fairly standard, nothing remarkable and somewhat limited in scope. You can get a great cup of coffee or tea and a decent pastry but beyond that, not a lot of variety or scope. It's a cafe where you hang out and drink coffee, not really a typical hotel restaurant. You may find yourself seeking out other options, though in Utrecht, once again, that bilateral punctuality expectation comes into play and not every place that you think should be open for breakfast is necessarily going to be open when you expect it to be. This is a nice place to stay for a tourist with time to sleep in, but not a great place for a business traveler. If you've got time to hang around it's a great base for exploring the city, which has a lot of things to offer. That's probably the niche that they are looking to serve, so no hard feelings, but as a traveler just be sure to set your expectations accordingly. Now as to the Dom tower...it's RIGHT THERE, which on the one hand is an amazing cultural aspect of the location. A major feature of the tower is the 60 bell carillon, which chimes on a frequent basis, day and night on a somewhat unpredictable schedule. If you are a light sleeper, you will absolutely hate this aspect of the location. If you can accommodate a random element in your life, it has a touch of whimsy, I suppose. The folks who play the bells seem to have a good sense of humor about their selections of tunes to play.

For the cafe -> The service and the staff are great and lovely. There's a small corner for kids with toys, although they could use some more books. The food is just bad. The bacon and the salmon that came with the brekafast looked really bad and weren't tasty at all. The scrambled egg is overcooked and looked old as well. Croissant and coffee were okay. The yoghurt moesli was way too sweet with all that jam. They just need to change the menu or how they prepare these dishes. There are way too many other places to have a tasty breakfast. I hope they can improve things. Finally, my latte was delicious.

I spontaneously booked a room for a night from booking.com and it was the best decision i’ve made! The room was very clean, the layout is very beautiful and feels luxurious. There really is no negative aspect from my side, just a small note that you have to ask for the wifi password at the reception (which i totally forgot to do, so i used my own internet but that was my fault for not asking, as i thought the wifi password would be on a note somewhere in the room) but besides this, a definite 10/10 experience! The staff at the reception is also extremely friendly and welcoming! Would definitely stay here again! 🤩

I was forced to cancel our stay here due to a death in the family and tried to contact management to discuss options. Unfortunately two messages through the booking app, an e-mail and a phone call asking for contact were completely ignored. Not a peep. Unbelievably unprofessional and inconsiderate.

A beautifully recently refurbished hotel. Amazing staff were very welcoming and helpful. Coffee/tea on offer 24/7 in the lounge is great. Just a few opening snags with the bedrooms. The glass doors into the bathroom create a lot of draught and privacy is very difficult. Pillows/duvets and very thick and when I asked they seemed to only stock one of each per person, so no alternatives. Each window in the bedroom has a built in vent which majorly effects the temperature and the one in the bathroom is difficult/dangerous to reach if you are wet. Overall I had a great stay and would definitely come again. The quality of the hotel and the atmosphere are definitely the worth the short walk out of the city centre which is a joy in itself.

Newly refurbished hotel in Utrecht. Close to city centre (walking distance 15 min). Parking on street available through the hotel for €15 per day. It is a stylish and 'gezellig' hotel with a cosy lobby / breakfast restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It seems that the hotel as kept the mattrasses and towels from before the refurbishment as they are very old and thin. The bed was very soft and rather uncomfortable. It is a shame as it does detract from the enjoyable experience of staying at Malie Huis. We stayed in a room with a small courtyard which was nice.

The Dom Tower, also known as Domtoren in Dutch, is a Gothic church tower standing at 95 meters high with a 17th-century carillon and offers panoramic views. It is the tallest church tower in the Netherlands at 112.32 meters high and was originally part of the city's cathedral, which was never completed. Visitors can take guided tours to climb its 465 steps, explore giant bells, and learn about its history.
Great guide tour, consider 1h in total to climb up and go down, eat and or drink before the tour starts as no belongings are allowed in (can be left in a locker for free). Not made for light hearted people, first floor is ok to access but after that, very narrow turning stairs. Up to 465 stairs to climb and incredible views on last floor.
Loic B — Google review
It’s a well organized tour. The steps could be a bit slippery. The last steps are a bit challenging as there are many to climb in a single go. They also get very narrow at the end. The views, to be frank, are nothing to brag about- so don’t go just for the view and since the barricades are metallic and not of glass or clear plastic, you cannot get good pictures. Anyway it was exhilarating because of the cool breeze at the top.
Priyanka G — Google review
Definitely worth the effort climbing up to the top of the tower. Guide is in both Dutch and English. Almost 500 steps single trip and the staircase is getting narrower and narrower as moving towards the top. Be prepared for shaky legs after coming down ...
Cathy L — Google review
Had a great tour here. We bought tickets in advance and everything was very smooth. There are a lot of stairs and many spiral which does get a bit warm, but is a cool experience and learned some interesting history. Great views and very good tour guides who are able to provide the tour and answer questions in Dutch and English.
Jaime G — Google review
This is one of the recommended activities to do in Utrecht. It is exhilarating when you get to the top but you need to climb 463 steps with 4 stops to get there. The last stretch was most difficult because it was 150 steps at once and towards the top it got much narrower so for the claustrophobic folks, take note. Otherwise its a nice feeling to get to the top and get some photos though the barb wire can pose a challenge to getting wonderful photos.

This is a place you should visit in Utrecht provided you can take the significant climb up the stairs. The view is certainty worth it. You have to book a tour, which does add to the experience and our guide was friendly and informative. The tour was presented in Dutch and English. The start point is in a shop nearby so make sure you read the information carefully.

Castle De Haar, located about 15 km from the center of Utrecht, is a 19th-century medieval-style palace with landscaped gardens that host regular fairs and events. It is the largest castle in the Netherlands and is sumptuously furnished.
Buy your tickets in advance. Really cool place to visit, but don't go expecting an authentic medieval castle, there's has ga lot of renovation and modernization that take away from that aspect, but overall this is still a really great exhibit. Still plenty of history within the walls, I just question the walls themselves. Great displays, lots of artifacts, plenty of rooms, the gardens are wonderful, even the restaurant is solid for a quick bite. Highly recommend bringing the family, plenty of nice places to take family photos in the gardens.

Omg amazing Beautiful This place is like a fairytale You have to walk 20 mins from the bus or there’s a car park or you can ride a bike There are lockers in the castle. You can’t bring in a bag or jacket. It’s very warm inside anyway. There’s not really any vegan food options Only like a juice But the gardens would be a cute location for a picnic There’s deer So cute

Great castle with loads of artifact to be seen, you can get a real feel for how the people were living at the time. Beautiful art and luxurious ceilings, windows and loving quarters. Also has a outside maze, deerpen and parc like surroundings to roam through.

To visit the Kasteel de Haar it’s an unique experience. It’s very well preserved and organised, with explanations of the rooms and spaces in multiple languages. My only critic concerns the amount of people that was inside at the same time. It was extremely crowded what made hard to properly appreciate the place. The gardens are also very well taken care of and the flowers are beautiful. Thank you for the experience!

The largest castle in the Netherlands, a really cool place to visit by bike or car, since is a bit outside of the city. Castle De Haar is absolutely stunning — a truly magnificent and beautifully preserved castle. The interiors are richly decorated with exquisite furniture, artwork, and tapestries that give a real sense of how the nobility once lived. The castle grounds are just as impressive, with manicured gardens, old trees, and romantic walking paths. It's the largest castle in the Netherlands and definitely worth a visit. A perfect mix of history, architecture, and elegance. Highly recommended!

Stayokay Utrecht Center is a trendy property located in the heart of Utrecht's historic city center. Situated on the lively Neude square, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and cafes, it offers simple dorms and private rooms accommodating two to nine guests. The hostel provides easy access to Utrecht's popular historic sights such as the Dom Tower and Oudegracht canal. With its prime location, it is an ideal choice for city trips or family getaways.
I had a great 5 night stay at this hostel. The room was clean, spacious, and colourful. The receptionists were all lovely and very helpful. The restaurant on the ground floor was also very handy for dinner. Would stay again if I came back to Utrecht! Only thing to note is that there are no kitchen facilities so no kettle to make coffee/tea which is why I rated the rooms 4/5 instead of 5/5.

It was nice, staff were really nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The shower was hard to manage- there's no room to dry comfortably before re-entering the dorm and little space to put your things needed for bathing. The room of the washing machine lockers had a really bad smell. Overall, very nice place.

Fabulous stay in Utrecht. Super clean rooms, luggage area if you arrive early or depart late, nice staff, and an amazing cafe/restaurant attached, so great for remote work. This is the first time I've ever stayed in a blended hostel/hotel that mixes the 2 so smoothly. A super great blend of family space for those with kiddos, and a chill bar for remote workers hanging out.

Nice comfortable place to stay, in very central location easy to walk everywhere. Friendly staff, and reasonable luggage storage/laundry available. Only downside for me was there was no kitchen facilities or even just a kitchenette available. Breakfast was available but seemed quite expensive for what was on offer.

Prime location. Just down the street from Utrecht Centraal. And close to tons of restaurants and shops. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff is friendly. Each bed has its own socket and light. Shower heads are detachable which is always a plus in my book. Good luck parking your bike out front though. But luckily there is a garage for that across the square from the hostel. I'll definitely stay at this hostel again the next time I'm in Utrecht.

Very good location and clean rooms. It can get noisy at times as you can hear what people are talking in the hallways or nearby rooms.

Nice minimal rooms, but not much storage for clothes etc. great location. Only issues is there’s 3 bars beside you, which open to 4am so getting to sleep is impossible. They provide ear plugs but not really helpful when people are drunk and shouting outside your window at 1am. If you’re wanting a hotel that’s quiet this is not the place
Chloe W — Google review
Our stay at Hotel Brass was very charming, we loved the room and its location. However, we didn't enjoy the fact that doors only opened after using your smartphone and there was no physical key. The rooms' door also couldn't be locked from the inside which made us feel a bit unsafe.

We had a bad experience during our stay. It was impossible to sleep because of the noise from downstairs (the hotel restaurant). We found the earplugs in the room (provided by the hotel), but we were not advised beforehand that we would need them due to the noise. As a result, we couldn’t sleep and rest until very late at night. The room is nice but starting to show its age. For the price we paid, it was definitely not worth it. The communication with the hotel wasn’t very pleasant. First, I received an email saying they couldn’t contact me because I didn’t provide my contact details through Booking.com. However, I booked directly with the hotel and provided all my contact details from the beginning. Later, we asked if we could leave our luggage until 12, and they agreed, but when we arrived back earlier, there was no one available, so we had to wait until 12. The person who came to assist us repeatedly mentioned the favor they were doing by coming specifically for us. It doesn’t justify paying this amount of money for bad service and an unpleasant stay.
Arina R — Google review
The place is globally nice, rooms are absolutely clean and tidy. If you have any issues with steep and dangerous stairs to reach your room, don't go there. If i can suggest some simple improvements: 1) not having a basic storage room is a problem expecially for one-night clients; 2) a curtain in the bathroom would be great; 3) in our experience, digital keys are not working or the door remains open, only lockable with hard locker. But Utrecht is such a beautiful city that everything is cured ..

A sweet inn in a great location. We stayed in the family suite which had a small room with two single beds accessed from the main bedroom via the shower room! Very comfortable but this hotel had no services when we were there - the restaurant was closed and there is no lobby. Nice and private so more like an Airbnb, just without a kitchen.
Amy S — Google review
Little gem hidden in the city Nice place to have a drink after work or gathering with friends I went to the restaurant in 2018, and in 2022 summer again. The quality and atmosphere is just good as usual, even level up. Will be there again for Christmas dinner soon.

We had an excellent experience during our stay. Our room’s space and organization is excellent and one of the best I’ve seen in Europe. The 18th century hotel is very well kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. The location is ideal. Check-in was easy. Our room was very quiet. It might be difficult for some people to access the rooms since there’s no elevator.

The Anthony Hotel Utrecht, located in the vibrant Lombok area on Kanaalstraat, is a converted monastery turned designer hotel. The rooms and apartments are individually furnished with original features like beams or brick arches, offering a blend of history and modern comfort. The hotel's lofts are ideal for longer stays, featuring sitting rooms, kitchens, and private penthouse terraces. While not in the city center, it's within walking distance to Utrecht's main attractions.
My stay at the Anthony Hotel, Utrecht was overall a very positive experience. The location was ideal, being close to the train station and within walking distance of the city centre. I walked everywhere during my stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The map with the directions and recommendations including restaurants was super helpful. I travelled solo and booked a single occupancy room. This was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at The Anthony Hotel in Utrecht. The internal courtyard is a nice feature that adds a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, though the family room layout felt a little odd. Bathroom would benefit from a few more hooks or hangers near the shower. Breakfast was great with a decent variety. We had a room facing the street, and the view of the church from the window was a nice touch. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the old town, which is a pretty good. Overall, a well-located and pleasant place to stay

Charming historic hotel in a good location for city centre. Breakfast great. We had a family room which had two bedrooms and a living area, can recommend. Comfy beds. Note with small children not really walkable to city but buses go regularly from a stop about 5 mins away and take 5-10 mins. Parking at hotel was easy to book and reasonably priced.

The Anthony Hotel offers a truly distinctive and wonderful experience in Utrecht. From the moment you step through the doors, you realize this isn't just a hotel; it's a beautifully preserved piece of history. Housed in a former Franciscan monastery dating back to 1908, the hotel expertly blends historic charm with modern, boutique luxury. The architecture alone is worth the visit, with tranquil cloistered hallways and a gorgeous courtyard that provides a peaceful sanctuary away from the city bustle. My room—a spacious loft suite—was exceptionally clean, quiet, and comfortable. The high ceilings and thoughtful design made it feel less like a temporary stay and more like a high-end apartment. I especially appreciated the premium, comfortable bedding and the soundproofing, which ensured a perfect night’s sleep. The addition of a small kitchen setup in the loft rooms is a brilliant touch for those on a longer trip. The location is excellent. Situated in the charming West district (Lombok area), it’s just a lovely, easy 15-minute walk to Utrecht Centraal Station and the vibrant city center, meaning you get the convenience without the central city noise. For a unique blend of heritage, space, and superior service, The Anthony Hotel is simply unbeatable. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Anthony Hotel in Utrecht. The internal courtyard is a beautiful and peaceful feature that creates a relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Our room was clean and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to unwind after a day of exploring. Adding a desk would be a great improvement, offering guests a perfect spot to relax and get some work done if needed. Breakfast offered a nice variety of fresh options, and while our room faced the parking lot with no particular view, the overall experience was still very enjoyable. One of the highlights is the location — just a 25-minute walk to the city center, which we found to be both manageable and a lovely way to discover the city. Overall, The Anthony is a well-located and welcoming place to stay. We’d be happy to return on a future visit to Utrecht.

Very nice and comfortable hotel, out of the centre but not unreachable, even by feet. It looks like an ancient monastery, reconverted in a lodging house. Rooms are a bit tight, (maybe they are constrained by the ancient structure), but nice and clean. Well equipped, perhaps the tv is a bit small to be watched from the bed. But there are two comfortable couches. Ironing and espresso coffee machine, but I haven't found a safe. Breakfast good and with enough variety. I did not appreciate one single taste for jam, as sometimes an alternative is necessary for specific allergy reasons. But the rest of the things compensated this small fault. Coffee machine sometimes not working for milk-based preparations. Personnel absolutely nice and responsive.

We stayed in a quad loft, two adults and two teenagers. Lots of space for all of us, the kitchenette seemed pretty well equipped. Location was a bit out of the city center but a nice walk and interesting to see a less tourist-y neighborhood. We stayed 2 nights but wish we had planned a longer stay,l!

We got a suite in room 221 . When we came around 13 hrs the room was not ready and that’s okay because check in time is 15 hrs . This hotel is not cheap . Expectations could have been very high because when we came later in the evening to go to our room , the threshold was very dirty with dust and filth everywhere and just before you enter the room were dirty cups and plates from the people before us . That situation remained unchanged until we checked out . Dirty dishes and dirty threshold. The shower pipe was broken just touching it . Reception did not answer and we had to do the plumbing ourselves. The amenities are minimal… like zero . Zero stuff in the minibar , zero things like good douche gel, toothpaste , slippers or gowns . Small little TV that was installed in an unprofessional untidy way . Disappointing. Beautiful hotel . Unique , breakfast was incredibly delicious and perfect ! The boarding was a nightmare. The hotel because of this gets a 5 . Not value for money with deposit. No . The 5 is for the breakfast and beautiful ambiance downstairs.

Canal
Utrecht, a charming city in the Netherlands, is renowned for its picturesque canals, with the Oudegracht (Old Canal) being the most famous. This historic waterway stretches nearly two kilometers through the city center and is lined with former warehouses that have been transformed into vibrant bars, restaurants, and shops.
Lovely walk along the main canal in Utrecht, lots of shops, especially local, and more restaurants closer to the Dome Church.
S D — Google review
Had a walk along the canals, very pittoresk with many beautiful buildings and the church. Many cafe and restaurants along the canals.
Per G — Google review
The Oudegracht, or 'old canal', runs through the center of Utrecht in the Netherlands. It begins in the southeast of the city. Here, the Kromme Rijn (the original main bed of the Rhine) and the Vaartse Rijn (a medieval canal reconnecting Utrecht to the newer main stream of the Rhine, the Lek) meet the original moat of the fortified city, and the Oudegracht leads from there into the city center. The water level of the Rhine in Utrecht fell because of the new dam at Wijk bij Duurstede. Soil was excavated and used to raise the sides of the canal, reducing the risk of flooding. By the time the city's lock system was completed in 1275, the water level was constant, allowing the construction of permanently dry cellars and new quays at water level, hence the typical wharves below street level. Warehouses used to line the canal, but today many of these warehouses have been converted into restaurants and cafes.
Matt E — Google review
A bit crowded, but generally a pleasant experience. The area boasts numerous pubs, pastry shops, and bars with prices for all budgets. For those interested in a water excursion, there are various options available, from tours on one of the many cruises to renting a smaller boat for a more intimate experience. While the area is dotted with historical buildings, it's unfortunate that some of them are inaccessible to visitors. Additionally, popular attractions like the Dom Tower of Utrecht tend to be heavily crowded and, if you don't purchase your tickets at least a day in advance, you have no chance of gaining entry.

Nestled in a 17th-century building in Utrecht's city center, Hostel Strowis offers simple private rooms and dorms. The historic building has been renovated to meet modern needs while retaining its charming historical elements like stone chimney breasts and exposed wooden beams. The hostel provides a warm and cozy atmosphere that complements the general vibe of Utrecht. Accommodation options range from private rooms ideal for couples or friends to large mixed dormitories accommodating up to 16 people.
Just sitting in the hostel's absolutely cozy lobby while I am writing this review. The rooms, toilets and showers were clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even have a cute cat which loves to cuddle with guests. The garden with a pond provides a calming atmosphere especially during the evening. One night I even heard some frogs giving a concert. Would definitely come again.

Stayed for a couple of nights. What I liked: • Location: very close to tourist attractions, the Dom, library, restaurants, cafés, and canals. • Cleanliness. • Security system: you can enter the hostel using a daily updated code. • Reception staff: Dick was an absolute sweetheart. When I told him I couldn’t sleep on the top bunk because of my fear of heights (which was not his problem at all), he solved my issue with a smile. I even wanted to tip him but didn’t manage to catch him the next day since there’s a different receptionist each day. Huge applause to this man! Another receptionist also made a great recommendation for a canal trip company with covered boats on a windy and rainy day. • Beautiful garden. • Free towel. • Coffee and tea available in the cozy bar area. • Fast WiFi. • Lots of tables for studying. Many student guests stay here, but they’re respectful and keep quiet. • The room (female 4-bed dorm) had its own sink, table, and a large window with wooden shutters that made the room perfectly dark. • Soap on every sink + towels provided. What I didn’t like: • Noise at night: there’s a student club right next door. I was unlucky - my window faced that way. From about 23:00 to ~02:00 it gets loud, so bring earplugs. I had wax earplugs, and they saved my nights. • The room can get pretty hot, they don’t have AC. Consider this, because you really have to close the window (noise) • Beds are shaky: if someone climbs up to the top bunk or turns at night, you’ll definitely feel it. • I didn’t see a hairdryer. Maybe you can ask for one, but I brought my own so it wasn’t an issue. • Shower turns off every 10 seconds • Poor ventilation Overall: It’s not a luxurious place, but the reception people really add character and value.

The hostel itself is fine, basic but clean. But this is the loudest hostel I’ve ever slept in. It’s located on an extremely busy corner so if you’re here on the weekend, good luck sleeping. My experience was in the female dorm so I can’t speak to the rest, but even with ear plugs it was insanely loud.

Amazing hostel I stayed in a few months ago (April) Absolutely loved it, the girl hosting us was great, warm atmosphere, you can meet great people too. The style of the hostel is something I personally really love, quite hippy, free, old school, and chill. A little punk as we love too! Great tips from the staff and alternative events going on around the hostel and Utrecht. Great location too, and the garden feels like an oasis to chill out of the busy town. A few months passed, and still think a lot to this great hostel that definitely left a mark on my heart. I hope i’lll be back there. Note that it’s probably not fit for physically disabled please (steep Dutch stairs)
Sol S — Google review
Very cute hostel with friendly staff. Beautiful garden and common areas. Everything was very clean and quiet. Towels and bedding included. Only thing that could be improved is offering female-only dorms as an option.
Mia Z — Google review
This hostel has a wonderful team of staff. We were heartily welcomed by Dick on our first night and were taken great care of by the younger female staff during the duration of our stay. However, having stayed for a few days I was able to notice some bullying of the younger female staff by the older male staff who (one or two of them) appear to live in the hostel. These men bring a negative vibe and are rude; one of seems only to glares at guests and cut off a conversation I was having with one of the younger staff members. This is unfortunate because this hostel is a charming building with a great atmosphere! Could easily be a five star hostel if not for the lurking live-in staff members.
Helen R — Google review
Lovely hostel in the perfect location for exploring Utrecht. We stayed in a private room, which was basic but had a sink in the room and everything you'd need. We loved the pretty garden with the pond, the tea on arrival, and the super friendly staff!! The only downside is the showers aren't the best... They're like swimming pool showers in little enclosed rooms, but it's not enough to put me off. I'd definitely come back here if I was visiting Utrecht again because it feels so cosy and homely. Thank you ❤️

We had a nice stay in a twin room. Staff was lovely, free beverage upon arrival, well equipped kitchen, a bit of a walk from the train station over bricked sidewalks which are not easy on the suitcase wheels so we took a bus back, enough bathroom and showers, nice common room. We booked directly through their website to save a few euros from booking.com.

The Hunfeld is a trendy boutique hotel located in the heart of Utrecht, blending seamlessly with the 19th-century architecture of the city center. Originally a men's fashion store, it now offers upmarket rooms and apartments, some featuring balconies or views of Dom Tower. The hotel boasts mid-century modern furniture and friendly staff, providing a hip and welcoming atmosphere.
We stayed here for a work trip. Our company has booked rooms for our entire team and I had a suite which I shared with another colleague. The suite was nice and spacious with a living room with kitchen and washing machine overlooking the square. The suite has 2 separate rooms. One with a king size bed and a room with 2 single beds. I slept in a single bed and enjoyed a good nights sleep. The suite also has a separate toilet and a bathroom with a large shower. The breakfast was really nice and the location of hotel is perfect for a visit to Utrecht. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. Our room had a nice view on the Domtoren while the windows did a good job of keeping the room quiet. The Shower is very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We were also happy about the delicious vegan an vegetarian breakfast option and the very friendly and helpful staff. The location of the hotel makes discovering Utrecht so easy as everything is close by so that it is no problem to use the hotel as a base camp. Will definitely come back if we revisit Utrecht. And then we wilm try to get room 402 😁

The Hunfeld is in the centre of the lovely Dutch town of Utrecht. The square it’s sited in is on the way from the station to the heart of the medieval canal system. It’s a pretty square but it can be noisy at night from a late night bar while there’s a corner opposite the hotel which seems to be a focus of weed smoking. The staff are very friendly sitting at the reception desk right opposite the entrance. There seemed to be a funny smell, possibly drains, as you came in and went up to the first floor although it wasn’t in the bedroom or the breakfast room. Our room (No 110) was actually an apartment with a living & kitchen area. Despite the fact that it was quite large, the bed seemed to be squeezed into a narrow room with no space to exit the far side of the bed and nowhere at all to store clothes in drawers or hanging space. The bathroom was spacious but the paint was peeling off the window woodwork and the shower, although it had lots of hot water, was a bit clunky and leaked on for a few minutes after it had been switched off and leaked out onto the tiled floor. The living & kitchen area were well fitted out and we got it to be quite cosy, as when we arrived no one had put the heating on despite it being quite chilly. Breakfast was partly buffet & partly table service and was fresh, hot with lovely bread & croissants. We paid €482.50 for our two-night stay, €74 for four breakfasts and €37.63 city tax. I would say the hotel is in need of a refurbishment or certainly our room was, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Utrecht.

All around great spot, centrally located on a small square close to Dom but easy enough to get out when the crowds surge. Great little lounge or have coffee in your room with the krups and Marshall Bluetooth speaker or in the square benches outside the Hotel door. Easy to get everywhere in Utrecht.

The hotel was very very nice giving a really cool ambiance and vibe. The rooms were pristine and clean and service was great. I stayed one night and they recommended places to eat for the evening and places to visit in the town and it was perfect. The town is beautiful and to explore would be optimal. Breakfast was very good and came in a very elegant form as well as the breakfast room being really nice with grand windows looking out over the square. Great experience for a one night stay and would have been nice to stay for more!

I don't normally post reviews but this hotel was absolutely amazing-i wanted to make sure I tell as many people as possible. The rooms are all different and very nicely decorated, clean with very comfortable beds. The service is excellent- personal and friendly. Breakfast is homemade and generally good-not a buffet but good portions and very tasty. The location is perfect and overall this was probably the best hotel experience I ever had!!! Congrats to the owner and the staff!

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The rooms are great and have been designed really nicely. They're clean and spacious - you might even get a cracking view of the canal outside. The location is a solid 10/10; close enough to the action for it to be convenient but not too close that it's loud. Staff were incredibly nice.

Fantastic central location in Utrecht - walking distance to everything with beautiful views of the Oudegracht. We stayed in The Study, a large 'medium' room with excellent facilities. Hotel was very family friendly, (we travelled with a 2 year old) - a family suite is available but it was fully booked when we were there. A dutch/continental style breakfast was served in the bright reception/dining area and we loved the cosy touches such as being able to choose your own mug to have your coffee in at breakfast. Very friendly staff who were exceptionally helpful. We had a lovely stay and would not hesitate to visit here again.

This has to be the best hotel i have been to! It is not far from local amenities, bang in the city centre, staff were friendly and the place looks & feels immaculate and bright. Cleanliness is a 5/5 and so are the facilities. Just a shame about the steep stairs to the 1st and 2nd floor, and it isn't cheap either staying here but for what it is, it's worth the price! You even got a blank canvas and some pencils for you to draw on, the decorated canvas then gets furbished with the room design. Can't fault this place and I would definitely return!

We stayed here as a couple for one night. At arrival we were very nicely welcomed. The room was cosy, with a very nice view to the canal and other buildings. I did not enjoy the floor in the bathroom though, and the mattress and the pillows were very soft. Overall I do recommend this hotel.

Small boutique hotel, situated next to one of the canals in the old town with easy access to restaurants, Tivoli theatre hall, historic centre and train station (10 minutes walk). Room on the first floor very spacious and minimalist, large balcony with views towards the Dom Tower. Very quiet in the room apart from the pealing of the Dom Tower clock for light sleepers. Good selection of local beers, wines in the mini bar. Stairs to first floor a bit steep and narrow so might be a factor for some. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, helpful in pointing out the things we wanted to see. Received an unexpected gift as our visit coincided with the start of Christmas. Would recommend the hotel to anyone and would happily stay there again.

I so wanted to love everything about this place, but sadly I would personally not stay or recommend. Quite poor booking system. The confirmation mentioned one property and gave the address of the wrong property (they have two some distance from each other, about an hour by boat). Was slightly unfortunate as I had tried to confirm this with the hotel beforehand but received nothing. Our room layout was interesting. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was great and breakfast service friendly. Generally Room 4 was comfortable, but noisy (you are literally at the kitchen). Unfortunately, and the largest disappointment was that the bathroom had an any infestation. The sink and surface was full of ants, and the person showing us around just said sorry we have a problem and I hope your don’t mind!!!

Great "authentic" bed and breakfast. Unique location and interior design. You won't find a super modern facilities here, but that's not to be expected from a place like this. DOMunder is an underground attraction located beneath Domplein, the main square in Utrecht, Netherlands. It offers a unique way to explore the city's history by delving into archaeological ruins dating back to 45 CE. The experience combines elements of a museum, archaeological site, and interactive tour, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of Utrecht's rich heritage. Equipped with torches and guided by knowledgeable volunteers, guests can navigate dimly lit rooms filled with ancient relics and artifacts.
Great family tour to find out about Utrecht’s history! We loved chasing the microchips with the special lamps to hear the explanations.
Leonardo M — Google review
It's a really good experience if you want to learn about the history of Utrecht from the very begging and you truely get to the bottom of the city. The guided tour was amazing and later the interactive experience with the flashlight and the beautiful graphics on the walls were a unique experience that I would recommend for all ages.
Anthi Π — Google review
This was one of the most interesting and creative tours I’ve done! Getting to uncover artifacts and learn about them myself was very cool. My tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the city.
Amy H — Google review
Really disappointed with this tour after reading all the positive reviews. The whole thing starts with a 30 minute talk about the entire history of the dom that could be done in 10 minutes, by a guide with mediocre English and speaking skills. The actual "experience" is even more disappointing, not much more than a few piles of rubble. The area is really dark, for whatever reason, and visitors are supposed to navigate through on their own with flashlights and audio guides that don't always work properly.
Nadia S — Google review
our tourguide was really nice but its honestly not that worth it, you find out quite a bit about the history of the city but nothing too into detail. the excavation site is disappointing and not that big, though i found finding the little audio cues in the dark to be a very fun game. overall not really worth your money or time
Sigmawolf69 — Google review
Not really much here. They take 30 minutes to tell you about 5 minutes of information before you enter the site, then it’s pretty kitschy and touristy with the lanterns and a fake storm. I would skip this, not worth the time/money.
Katie M — Google review
Utrecht is a city full of life and history. It's wonderful to walk through its streets and visit its monuments. But don't waste your time on the DOMUnder tour. When you see it advertised, it seems like something fun and interesting, but nothing could be further from the truth. A real bore, with the same things repeated over and over again, and at the end, you see a small area of ruins below ground level that aren't very interesting. Furthermore, the explanations are only offered in English, Dutch, and German.
Felipe S — Google review
Knowledgeable tour guides and interactive exploration of the archeological site immediately in DOMplein. Felt like using laser tag. An innovative way of getting people to pay closer attention to the exhibit.

Located in the heart of Utrecht, Hampton by Hilton Utrecht Central Station is a laid-back hotel situated within a shopping mall. The 3-star hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, complimentary breakfast, and free Wi-Fi. Guests can also enjoy access to amenities such as a fitness center, bar, and shared lounge. Conveniently positioned near Utrecht Central Station, the hotel provides easy access to nearby attractions like the Spoorwegmuseum and Hoog Catharijne.
Great location convenient to the train station, mall, and downtown. Many food options nearby. Small but efficient rooms. Breakfast staff was wonderful. I was expecting much less, but the breakfast buffet was ample. They even had gluten-free bread for me (upon request). They thanked me for being a diamond member and allowed me to check in early, as well as allowed me to leave luggage for a few hours after checkout.
Christina P — Google review
Right next to Utrecht Central train station, the entrance is through a nice shopping mall. The room was an adequate size, with deep, comfortable beds, air conditioning, and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with ‘hot’ and cold options. The best bit for me was where you make your own waffles! The location is very convenient for getting into the centre of Utrecht, as well as for walking on the other side of the railway line, where there is a windmill and some quieter streets. It is also convenient for using other public transport such as buses and trams. We only used the tram, which was very efficient.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. Its location is great. 10 min to the downtown of Utrecht and close to the train station. Its entrance is inside the Hoog Catharijne Mall so shopping is easy. Also great breakfast. The only subtle problem was that I was hearing the flushing of another room when I was relaxing in my room.
Hamed J — Google review
This hotel was amazing! Our flights got canceled and we had to find a last minute place to stay overnight. This hotel was so accommodating and the staff were so friendly and helpful! The rooms and breakfast were also amazing! You can easily ride the train from the airport which is about 40 minutes away and walk right across from the station to the mall where the hotel is located. I would totally recommend staying here!

Had a very bad nights rest. Started with loud waterflowing sounds inside the room in the evening and in the morning (waking us up). As the sound continues for over 15 min, called reception and they send staff up to room 601. The sound stopped when she arrived but were able to make a recording. Sound was 55dB. She promised to follow up, but that did not happen. Also probably due to wrong engineering there was a continious high pitch sound in the bathroom, hearable in the room itself. Upon check out no action or follow up was taken and pointed out their 100% satisfaction guarantee to no success. Asking for the manager (took 10 min) the receptionist came back that the manager is in a meeting. Promised a pro-active response. Waiting for it now. (Also alignment housekeeping -reception was absent). Am a loyal Hilton Honors member, but this is not the service i have come to expect!
Lin Y — Google review
Not only is this hotel difficult to find with no guide on where or how to enter it besides just so happening to pick the correct entrance to a shopping mall and following signs within the mall, but the staff is literally lying in order to farm more Hilton honors sign ups. They somehow made everyone in front of me in line sign up by either bold faced lying to them saying early check in is reserved for Hilton honors guests, or how they lied to me. I was listed as an additional guest on our booking since I booked the room back in August. At every single Hilton I’ve ever been to, this means I can check in to the hotel no problem. I’ve been doing this since 2021 across multiple countries now. Not once have I ever been told I can’t check in without the primary guest present. They used this to lie to my face and essentially force me to sign up for a Hilton honors program and then “put the room in my name” (which I don’t believe they actually did for a single second) if I wanted to get into my room. The lobby was a mess, the floor my room is on has boxes stacked in front of the door as soon as you get off the elevator for some reason… I stayed in Hiltons in Amsterdam, den Hague, Rotterdam and now Utrecht this month. None of the other previous hotels even suggested the possibility of a complication with me checking in to my room without the honors member present. Just this one. Scummy and predatory service.
Stephen R — Google review
Hello everyone, My wife and I have been traveling around the world for years, and we’ve stayed countless times in different countries through Booking and Hilton. About a month ago, after finishing work late one night, I booked a non-refundable room at this hotel for November 20. Just minutes later, I realized I had accidentally chosen the wrong date. I immediately contacted both Booking and the hotel. Booking informed me that such honest mistakes, while rare, are usually resolved by the hotel’s discretion—most hotels (around 90%) show understanding and help their guests in these situations. That gave me some relief, as I was genuinely planning to come — I wasn’t lying, manipulating, or trying to deceive anyone. This was simply the first booking mistake I’ve ever made after traveling to hundreds of places. I told both Booking and the hotel that I was willing to pay the price difference between the two nights and asked to move my stay one day later. However, the hotel management refused, claiming there was no availability. The strange part is that there were actually dozens of available rooms for the next day, with only about a $30 difference in price. Even the Booking support team said they had never encountered such an uncooperative situation and felt helpless because of the hotel manager’s decision. As a result, I had to buy a new flight ticket for $400 and move to a different hotel in Utrecht. Perhaps you assumed that, as a tourist, I wouldn’t come or wouldn’t stand up for my rights. But not everyone is as powerless as you might think. I sincerely wish the hotel manager meets people like himself in life. I will never forget this incident, and I will be sharing this experience with all my Dutch friends.

Rooms need more electrical outlets to plug chargers in and the doors made a lot of noise opening and closing (quick fix with some WD40, maybe?) They were clean and big enough! Service was great, very friendly workers. I also left too early for the breakfast buffet but they were nice enough to make me a "to go package" so I could eat on the road. The area around the hotel is like a fairy tale. Very nice.

great friendly place, out the way with a nice bar. rooms are clean and utilitarian - charging sockets lockers and individual lights. bathrooms and showers are spotless. there is also secure bike storage. breakfast is a superb buffet. the staff are approachable and amenable, helpful and nice. only small issue is that the dormatory rooms, reception/bar, and canteen are all separate buildings, and the former is a few minutes walk from the latter two: i spend a noticeable amount of time just traipsing back and forth. inconvenient unavoidable i guess.

Bunnik is a beautiful countryside setting. The rooms are not brand-new, but everything else is perfect. We tried out the restaurant, enjoyed the breakfast, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Would come again!

First of the staff was very friendly. So now that we have that out of the way the shitshow begins, we booked two beds, they checked 11 people in an 8 bed room, so we went back to the reception, she simply told us to look again, afterwards we were put in a different room, the room was quite lovely i leave them that, they told us that they aint sure if we can stay in this room but they would check on us tho, so we woke up ate breakfast and went in to the city, after coming back late we couldn't get in the room, because it turned into an all female dorm, note our stuff was still inside, after checking out with the very friendly receptionist we couls get our stuff and got new rooms. funny enough those rooms are litteral prisoncells, basically no natural lighting and the lamp isn't strong enough to light the whole room, the only thing they could offer us was to take candles to our room.
DiesDasAnanas — Google review
I cant even grade the quality of the rooms because the keycard they gave me did not work. I slept on the streets instead of the room I booked because these people gave me a broken keycard. Avoid.

Excellent sleep over in a bunk-bed private room. The bed felt ekstra long, and spacious - and the room feeling was better then expected. The lady serving breakfast was an absolutely lovely experience. It felt like she could have been a family member serving me coffee and smiling. Price/quality - this is a highly recommended place.

Unhygienic hotel and refusal to refund. Very poor experience. Would not recommend unfortunately. We found blood stain on the bed sheet, the night guard handed us a new bed sheet to fit ourselves because his excuse not to do it was 'he is as unexperienced as we are'. This was our 1 year anniversairy together and we paid a little extra for an enjoyable one night stay but it did not live up to its expectations. The hotel were contacted about the blood but they dismissed this as make up, only until i showed them the picture of the physical blood stain, they then agreed it was blood. They were unable to offer a refund due to 'limitations in the system' which is a very poor excuse from a hotel to not refund someone. A customer has a legal requirement and legally they cannot have limitations in the system. From the unhygienic stay and how It was poorly handled means I cannot visit this location again. Attached a photo of the blood stain which they tried to disregard as makeup.

Hotel Beijers is an elegant boutique hotel housed in a 17th-century building, offering warm and antique-filled accommodations. Located in the City Centre district of Utrecht, it's conveniently situated near attractions such as Museum Speelklok and TivoliVredenburg. The property exudes traditional character and style, although some guests have noted occasional lapses in customer service.
It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in Holland. The reception is small and but the rooms are big and cozy. We had a room facing the street but no noise problems. It is very central and easy to access from the train station, about 10 min. Walk.
אדי ל — Google review
The location is great and staff is nice, but the hotel is crazy noisy. Not only from street noise which isn’t too bad, but within the hotel itself you can hear your neighbor even sneeze. Don’t know what they were doing, but horrible thumping starting at 7am… I tried to tell someone but of course - reception was empty 75% of the time I was there. I was on the ground floor and the rooms have no curtains, only shutters so the whole street can see into the room unless you want to be in the darkness. If you go, try getting a higher floor.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, offering a quiet retreat despite its central location right next to the iconic Dom Tower. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful — communication via WhatsApp made our early arrival and luggage drop-off seamless, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed city tour before check-in. Although the reception isn’t open 24/7, everything was perfectly arranged in advance. One of the highlights was the access to a lovely garden, which was especially appreciated as we were traveling with our dog. It truly enhanced our stay. Highly recommended for both location and hospitality!

Lovely accommodation and friendly staff. The worst night's sleep I've ever experienced in a hotel. Cathedral bells mark every 15 minutes with an extended ring every 60 minutes. I wear a garmin watch. It tells me I managed 3 and a half hours sleep but I think it was far less.

Incredible boutique hotel! Great service, and fantastic experience! The room is elegantly designed, each room is unique and tasteful. There were bottled water, tea and coffee. Comfy for a short business trip. I will definitely not recommend this hotel for parents with small children or pregnant ladies, the staircase is véry steep and curves uneasily, hazardous for some. The link to opening the doors work well and the location is splendid 👌🏻
Tarien H — Google review
Great location , but not a hotel . More of a B&B / Airbnb type thing . Some issues with the room (room 2 first floor) - an ironing board but no iron . As I travel for work having an iron should be a staple for any 4* hotel . I get one even in 3* hotels . Tv remote was nowhere to be found ! Searched the room high and low , so no TV as controls on the TV were inaccessible. Weird underwhelming back door type view with other properties looking in. Steep stairs , with a suitcase could be a real pain for those with disabilities I even struggled and I’m a fit and healthy 34 year old. Bedside bulb gone in one lamp . Random electrical in cupboards … dusty cupboards, some nuts left on the side from last customer. It was a very average stay to put it lightly . As mentioned good location though and soft drinks were a nice touch . No water though although they stipulate on the welcome card that there is still water .

The hotel is nice, clean and in a great location close to the Central station. Comfy bed and pillows. Digital check in and out. But the hotel is also located close to the Church, the Dom Bell works overnight too. We couldn't sleep the first night in the rooftop room because of the bell ringing and street noises, since the room is without noise cancellation. The stairs are steep, and we could also hear noises from our neighbors. If someone is a light sleeper, this is not the right place.
Munisa B — Google review
Nice enough rooms, but this place is really more air BnB rather than hotel. Check in is in shop below, where staff are very friendly and helpful, but after check-in that's all you'll see of anyone unless you pop into the shop. Breakfast if you choose it is 3 mins walk away in Anna and Max (we preferred the place opposite). Finally, beware of very steep stairs to rooms - probably best to ask for room on lower floors if you choose to stay here. Utrecht is a beautiful city and worth a visit.

A lovely designhotel that's true to Utrecht. We've lived on the Steenweg for a few years and it's location is just perfect. Right in the city center, but rather quiet at night because of the perfect 300m distance from most bars/restaurants. The hotel offers privacy, clean and well designed rooms, and the kind of atmosphere you feel at a wellness resort. It also just feels perfect to pick up the keys in the store below. The staff and owner were kind, warm people that gave us a real welcoming feeling. We weren't in need of it, but I'm sure any tips from them are personal, not commercially (think big hotel) driven. All in all, we would highly recommend booking your stay here, especially if you're looking for the more personal approach!

This boutique hotel is in a fantastic location! Perfect walking distance to all shops and restaurants and tourist stops - and great walk along the canals. The staff and all communication were excellent - seamless - and so friendly. They even decorated a room for one of our birthday guests! Very clean and comfortable and safe entry. *Be forewarned if you have a car - you cannot drive to the location. Recommend parking at the shopping mall and walking the short distance to the hotel. Very steep stairs - careful for older guests.

Terrible experience. I booked an appointment to visit their office, but when I got there, the place was completely empty. No reception, no staff, nothing. Just their name on a buzzer. I tried calling, waited forever on hold, and finally spoke to someone who told me to meet them outside. Outside? That’s beyond ridiculous. Why even bother scheduling appointments if you’re not even at your own listed address? This is either a scam or a very poorly run operation. Either way, it’s not worth your time or money.

Absolutely unprofessional and borderline scammy experience. I booked an appointment through a platform that listed their location as available for virtual office services. I showed up at the exact time and address, only to find NOTHING—no office, no staff, no sign of any actual business presence. Just their name on a doorbell. I rang multiple times, no answer. I called their main number, and after being put on hold for nearly 15 minutes, I got transferred to someone from the Utrecht branch. What did she say? That I should meet her outside the building and just do the whole thing online instead. Excuse me? Why the hell would you list an address, confirm an appointment, and then ask someone to meet outside like it’s some shady back-alley deal? I’m not here to play games. This was a complete waste of my time and extremely sketchy behavior. Avoid this company unless you enjoy being jerked around and lied to.

One Big Scam! We have a contract of a year but everything they have promised is NOT delivered so far. We are three months already in the office and there is NO cleaning, no reception, the internet that is promised is not there, the office that was promised was delivered 1.5 months later, we have only one key of the office, the floor is not cleaned (it was promised to be cleaned). We can't reach anyone, no one is helping with our problems, calls don't get answered. This is just pure trash for the highest price. Please do not pay for this.

Belgisch Biercafé Olivier Utrecht is housed in a 19th-century townhouse that conceals a secret - a clandestine church dating back to the 1640s. This former Maria Minor church has been transformed into a cafe specializing in Belgian and Dutch beers, maintaining its historic charm with restored ecclesiastical elements and an updated interior. The restaurant offers traditional Belgian cuisine, complemented by an extensive beer selection.
A very unique an grandeur setting! It’s a beerplace in an old church ⛪️ the experience and atmosphere inside is immaculate <3 i also love the snacks (cheese spring roll??) hahahaha my dad also loves the beer he said it’s a very nice taste with only small bitterness
Mahira P — Google review
Decent selection of classic good Belgian beers. Some waiters were really friendly and professionals, others I think they were looking for shortcuts, but overall nice experience nothing too bad. I loved the place inside, drinking a beer there was really good. I loved that each beer had his own correct paired glass. One of the nice waiter also stated that they didn't have any Guinness anymore, so suggested to have another stout; then corrected himself saying that they didn't have any glasses for it, so this is definitely a positive point for their honesty and professionalism. Food wise I think they can improve, my salad was everything but a salad. Overall would be a 4/5, but I didn't like the approach towards some people. Place inside was almost empty, we were there for lunch, most tables were reserved for the evening. Those entering were first suggested to sit outside or in a not reserved table, even if more than 6 hours were between current time and the one marked on the table. I also saw one poor guy that just wanted to see the tap beers at the counter, friendly being sent back outside with the reason that tap beers were marked on the menu. He just wanted to have a look 😅 Then when a tourist group came in with their guide, they could just roam around taking pictures and videos while talking, like it's not a restaurant. It's fine and understandable, the place is very beautiful and probably with rich history, but it was funny to see the difference.

Incredible place. I was surprised the moment I got inside. It’s a huge and nice place. I never imagined to see a Bar/Restaurante in a church. Despite being a bit noise when it is crowded, it’s outstanding! Service incredible and friendly. Carpaccio one of the best I ever had!
Matheus G — Google review
This Belgian beer café is a hidden gem with a remarkable setting. It appears to be housed in a former church, which gives the entire space welcoming feel. The location alone makes it worth a visit! I had a few bitterballen with my drink, which were crispy, hot, and just what you’d hope for. The staff was super friendly and impressively quick, even though the place was quite busy. The beer selection is massive, one of the most extensive I’ve seen. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just curious to try something new, you’ll definitely find something here.
Laura — Google review
While it's a unique setting with great beer and good food, I found the natural acoustics of the church amplified the sound of everyone too much during rush hour. At some point I had to shout for my friend to hear what I was saying. If I went at a quieter time I would probably have had a much better experience. Recommended: If you're looking for a unique or new experience. Not Recommended: Big groups, business meetings, during busiest hours (unless you don't mind the noise)
Louis G — Google review
Favorite place in Utrecht! Very huge selection of beers(4 pages menu), tasty food and unusual ambience since it was a church before. Book in advance strongly recommended

Cool place to go and have a beer - they have a huge selection, so you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly and quite helpful. Reservations recommended, since this place gets very busy (and noisy). They don't do take-aways, but the food is delicious so you probably won't need to take any home :)

Step into the past at The Railway Museum in Utrecht, a captivating interactive museum located in a beautifully restored 19th-century train station. This national railway museum offers an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, showcasing the rich history of rail travel in the Netherlands. From historical trains and tram systems to operational workshops and theatrical presentations, the museum provides a comprehensive look at the evolution of transportation throughout the years.
🚂 The Railway Museum in the Netherlands turned out to be much more impressive than I expected. Walking among the historic trains and steam locomotives felt like traveling back in time. Thanks to the interactive areas, you’re not just looking, you’re actually experiencing. For photography lovers, there are countless amazing shots to capture! It’s also perfect for families; children especially enjoy the train simulators and the little train ride. Since it’s close to Utrecht city center, getting there is very easy. In short, it’s both fun and educational. I definitely recommend it
Ugurcan A — Google review
Very nice museum, for both railway passionate and casual visitors. Very good for kids and families as well, however not very accessible for wheelchairs and strollers (for babies, consider a carrier). We loved everything about it, but would have appreciated some English descriptions, that were unfortunately missing. Will go back!

Such a cool place to visit with children of any age and even without. 🤓 Outside there’s a playground and you can also grab something to eat&drink. You can spend a full day here and not get bored.

Fantastic museum, and I’m an adult and not even a train fanatic. I can imagine bringing your kids here, they will have a blast. Very big museum in an old, fully restored to its old 1872 glory train station and yard, with many historic trains and carriages on tracks. Also various halls with train related themes, like model trains, engineering, virtual reality train ride, etc. For kids also a big playground outside. Cafe restaurant on its premise.

My new favourite place. It's unfair to compare railway museums but this is the best one I have found so far. Gives the complete history of the railways in the Netherlands. Examples of old and new rolling stock. RECOMMEND ARRIVING BY RAIL - take a train to Utrecht Maliebaan station to avoid the expensive car parks (both on site and on street).
Max E — Google review
It's a great museum, interesting for adults and children alike, where everyone can have a lot of fun. There are many train carriages in perfect condition, and at Christmas they set up an ice rink. Highly recommended.
Erika C — Google review
This museum is a veritable wonderland of railway history filled with old steam (and newish) diesel and electric locomotives, carriages, wagons, model trains, memorabilia, posters, etc that is worthy of at least a half day visit. And you don't have to be a passionate railway buff (like me) to enjoy the exhibits as families can entertain their children with lots of interactive gizmos and quizzes that are educational too! I simply cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this place and falling in love with trains! As well there are a cafe and museum shop and many external railway exhibits where, on a sunny day, the charming old signal box and water tower are a fitting backdrop to the locomotives.

Museum Speelklok, also known as the Musical Clock Museum, is a unique and popular tourist attraction in Utrecht. Established in 1956, the museum houses a fascinating collection of self-playing musical instruments ranging from music boxes to barrel organs and pianolas. Visitors can explore hands-on and interactive displays showcasing mechanical musical instruments from the 18th century to the present day. The museum also features domestic instruments such as tiny music boxes and massive fair organs that are still functional.
Fantastic museum! Do take the tour as you get to see many more of the music boxes in action this way. After or before the tour you can wander around on your own. Most tours are in Dutch and English as are most signs. They also have a nice cafe next to the gift shop.

Amazing museum. Not very big but worth visiting. Specially the tour is highly recommend. They give it in both languages, English and Dutch. The museum staffs are very friendly. There are a lot of collection on musical items, so if you are interested it can take you half a day easily to have all reasonably covered. I specially liked the exposition part. Lot to see and learn.

Wonderful collection of autoplaying music equipments including huge ones like organs, small ones like music boxes, classical ones like piano and even an equipment with three violins. There are also rooms showing the mechanical mechanism on how the autoplaying works. Very interesting museum, I will visit again and take my family too.
Chen L — Google review
A truly charming and unique museum! 🎶 The highlight was definitely the guided tour. Our guide was fantastic: knowledgeable, funny, and clearly passionate about the instruments. Hearing the clocks, organs, and music boxes come to life was magical! The museum is beautifully set in an old church, and there are plenty of interactive exhibits for both kids and adults. Everything is well organized, and the staff are super friendly. It’s right in the city center, easy to reach, and there’s a cozy café for a break after exploring. Highly recommend spending at least a couple of hours here. It’s joyful experience full of music and history!
Kampa G — Google review
This was such a cool museum, especially for music lovers who enjoy the more unique aspects of musical instruments / machines! It definitely stands out since it is such a specific, quirky type of subject, and this was a perfect way to end my stay in the Netherlands after frequenting more traditional museums. It definitely shows that craving to have music in every shape, way, and form. The guided tour was fabulous. I thank my tour guide at noon on August 10, 2025, who translated to English only for me at first!). He also had a great dry sense of humor. After the tour, I walked around more and read many of the placards. It's amazing to see what people could do technologically speaking...all for the benefit of bringing great spirit and music into this world. It's beautiful to think that even though the creators of these mechanisms are long gone, they seem to come back to life every time a tune from their design is played.
Ilana M — Google review
Beautiful museum that has several objects on display that concern "street music". Various sizes for different types, with even automatic devices that make the visit fun!
Ma. F — Google review
Amazing museum filled with playing instruments sized from very small and beautiful to absolutely enormous ballroom machines. We had a guided tour which I recommend to get to know history behind the machines and how they were used. There’s a little suprise for Johnny Cash fans. You can spend there half an hour or two hours if you want to explore other exibitions.
Marta ( — Google review
They give a guided tour in both Dutch and English together. It’s a short guided tour of about 30 mins, where the various organs are played after which you are free to visit rest of the museum. The collection of organs is large varying from the tiny to the mightiest sizes. You can also get an understanding of how these work through some practical demonstrations. There is also a 10 minute movie which is in Dutch with English subtitles which gives a good overview.

It’s a busy train station especially on the weekends. Has shops. It’s right next to the Hoog Catharijne shopping Center. Also in this square between the train station and shopping center is restaurants and takeaway stores. Also near to some hotels. You take this train station to go to Castle de Haar.
Naomi H — Google review
A very large, modern, and well-organised station, it almost has the atmosphere of an airport. Access to the station is controlled right at the entrance, so you already need a valid ticket before entering, which contributes to a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Everything is clearly signposted, the facilities are clean, and all systems worked flawlessly during my visits. Despite the high number of travellers, the flow is well managed and the station never felt chaotic. Security staff are present, and there are many shops, cafés, and food options throughout the building. With the direct connection to the Hoog Catharijne shopping mall, there is always something going on. If I had to complain on a very high level, I would only wish for a few more seating areas inside the station. Apart from that, Utrecht Centraal is truly a top-class railway station and an example of how modern train infrastructure should look and function.

Stadskasteel Oudaen is a historic events venue in Utrecht, dating back to the middle ages. It sits along one of the most beautiful canals and houses a restaurant, modern theater, and a local brewery with tours available. Originally built as a medieval defense tower in 1276, it has since been transformed into a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The castle offers an authentic dining experience with local beers to sample and enjoy.
We booked a reservation here despite never having been, and we’re so happy we did. We had the MOST incredible time, the servers were all incredible, thoughtful, and efficient. We had the falafel salad and the warm brie & pear salad to start, then green curry and the chicken satay for our mains. The beers are to die for - especially the dubbel and Sagittarius A! If it wasn’t full, we would’ve come back the next evening to try even more things from the menu.

Nestled along the picturesque Oudegracht in Utrecht, Oudaen presents itself as a charming blend of a cafe, restaurant, brewery, and meeting place. Its exterior resembles a small castle, making it a delightful sight that sets the tone for the experience inside. Upon entering, I was immediately captivated by the decor. The interior features large, striking paintings that add character to the space, creating an inviting atmosphere. The combination of historic charm and contemporary art makes it a unique setting to enjoy a meal. For lunch, I opted for their toasties, which were nothing short of delicious. Perfectly toasted with a satisfying crunch, they came with an array of fillings that balanced flavor and freshness. Each bite was a treat, showcasing quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The service at Oudaen was commendable—attentive without being intrusive. The staff was friendly and eager to ensure that our dining experience was enjoyable, providing recommendations and promptly addressing our needs. In summary, Oudaen is a delightful spot in Utrecht that beautifully combines its historic charm with modern amenities. Whether you’re looking for a cozy lunch, an inviting atmosphere, or a spot to enjoy a crafted brew, Oudaen delivers a memorable experience. Don't miss it if you get a chance to visit!

Centraal Museum, located in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a 19th-century museum that showcases art, applied art, fashion, and the history of Utrecht. The museum's exhibits include provincial archaeological collections and works by Utrecht-based painters from the 15th century onwards. Visitors can explore the rich collection of Dutch history and local culture through ancient artifacts and modern installations.
A unique, eerie, and thought-provoking museum. Some areas creeped me out a little, but in a good way. The deep red room reminded me of a crime scene and Twin Peaks. After all that surreal, unsettling experience, stepping into Dick Bruna’s atelier felt unexpectedly wholesome. I also really enjoyed the quirky living room installation, with its fish bone wallpaper and all the unusual things inside the birdcages. Overall, it was a truly memorable visit.

Not my type of thing art-wise, but I enjoyed seeing the old ship and a handful of pieces. Staff are very helpful!

Nice place and kind staff. The doll house is my favorite, there are some creepy and eerie spot too (forgot the name but talks about disability). Its a nice place to see a combination historical and modern art in utrecht. There was “bad mother good mother” exhibition when i visited the place. A nice exhibition which connects us a lot with “mothering” phase
Dhara K — Google review
As others have noted the museum can be a bit confusing to find your way around but - just roll with it. The Utrecht Boat is directly downstairs, there is a special exhibition building attached through the old chapel and the 'main' building is two floors of somewhat meandering corridors. But you can't get lost, unless you want to. Finding the cafe is a bit trickier... Turn right out of the foyer, weave your way through to the end, go out the door and you're there. When you come back, don't go back through the door, turn right, go up the stairs and enjoy the exhibits on the first floor. Easy...
Brett P — Google review
We have Museumkaart so free to get in. No line , don't need to book in advance. Downstairs are toilets and free locker to use. In the back is cafe and terrace area. Art museum, many nice pieces and interesting concept. A bit confused route but it's ok, not too big place. Top floor has Dick Bruna Part for Miffy/NIJNTJE FANS 🐰and also gift shop there.

The staff were polite and helpful. The layout of the museum was confusing, even with the help of a map. The art is very contemporary and abstract. There was a section about motherhood which didn't appeal to me at all. The boat on the basement floor is interesting but it's hidden away when it's probably the best thing about the museum.
Holly B — Google review
There was an exhibition about mothers, which was very touching and impressive, and the old Utrecht School paintings were truly amaizng. At first, I was a bit disappointed when I went upstairs to see the collection, but the mother exhibition and the historical works turned out to be amazing overall.

Nestled just a few blocks south of the iconic Dom, Museum Catharijneconvent is a treasure trove for those intrigued by the Dutch Christian experience. Housed in a beautifully preserved former convent dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, this museum showcases an impressive array of sacred art and artifacts that span from the Middle Ages to contemporary times. Visitors can marvel at exquisite altarpieces, intricately designed ecclesiastical vestments, and stunning illustrated manuscripts.
Amazing museum. The staff is very helpful and kind. The only downside is that nothing is translate : you have the audio-guide, but it only translate some part of it. However, the art pieces are amazing, the history behind them incredible, and it's very nicely presented. Definitely a place to check out if around and if you have an interest in Christianity (not in a religious way, more in a cultural one).
Jo M — Google review
The building was very beautiful from the outside, because it was located in a medieval monastery. You could look into the small garden for free. The holiday exhibit was engaging and inclusive, comparing Christian, Jewish, and Muslim traditions with fun interactive elements. The treasury room was stunning, though the audio tour was a bit loud even on the lowest setting. I appreciated the museum’s effort to address historical controversies, such as depictions of Jesus and diverse interpretations of religious stories. However, navigation was tricky, and aside from the holiday exhibit, there wasn’t much for kids or teens. Overall, a solid visit for those interested in Christianity or history.

First, the permanent exhibition does not have any written explanation in English, only Dutch. If you understand Dutch, the museum is very insightful. Alternatively ask for an audio guide. The very large collection is of outstanding religious art and artifacts with good explanations. The treasure room and medieval art hall have many wonderful religious objects and art. The department where the history of Christianity in the Netherlands is showed and explained from the arrival of Saint Willibrordus in the Netherlands in 690 AD till today is very interesting.
Pedro P — Google review
The convent has a two courtyards where you can sit and enjoy a peaceful moment. There is a chapel and church. The museum has three floors and there is an auditorium for lectures. The cafe serves brunch and sweets. You can purchase books and other items at the museum store. The museum has changing exhibitions and a permanent collection. This latter includes relics from the church.
Tamilew329 — Google review
We grossly underestimated the size of the exhibitions. If you are planning on visiting, make sure you allow yourself a few hours to go through it. Although the pieces in their collection are exceptional this museum is definitely aimed at a specific audience.

Very nice museum with some sections having an audio guided tour. I saw some Rembrandt in there which was nice. I like the elevator feature (takes you to 3 floors of the museum) though I noticed most people still chose to go by the stairs. The gold and silverware (chalices, altar decorations, and candle holders, etc.) were amazing. I’m glad I stumbled upon the museum first before attending the [English] mass at 12:30 at the Catharijne Cathedral.

From a rock garden to bird-filled woods and a tropical greenhouse showcasing vibrant butterflies, there's something for every nature enthusiast.

A very peaceful and well-kept garden in Utrecht. I enjoyed walking through the different sections, especially the tropical greenhouse. What I liked the most was the large number of butterflies—really beautiful to watch and very calming. Perfect place to relax, slow down, and enjoy nature

These gardens are amazing, brought my partner here whilst visiting Utrecht as she is a keen gardener, and she loved it. The site is huge, you can easily spend a few hours just wandering around outside looking at the collection. There are areas that hold similar types of plants, but they are laid out in such a way you can easily see them all. The tropical greenhouse was fascinating, and the butterfly house contains some really beautiful specimens. Entry was 10 euros each, this was an absolute bargain, worth every penny. If gardening and botany is your thing, you will definitely enjoy a visit here.
Daniel M — Google review
We visited the Botanical Gardens on a Sunday and had such a lovely time. There weren’t many people, so it felt calm and peaceful as we walked around exploring the different areas. Even though it’s autumn and there aren’t many flowers in bloom, the autumn colors of the trees and plants were absolutely beautiful. The indoor gardens are really nice and full of interesting tropical and desert plants and the butterfly garden was a real highlight, with butterflies flying freely all around us. After exploring, we had lunch at the café and enjoyed a delicious apple pie while sitting outside overlooking the gardens, a perfect way to end our visit! The gardens are part of Utrecht University, located on the historic Fort Hoofddijk, which adds a unique atmosphere to the place. It’s very well maintained, educational, and relaxing perfect for a weekend outing, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a quiet escape in Utrecht.
Duangrat W — Google review
Great place to spend some time to wind down from studies and work. The gardens are well maintained and provide some interesting insights into anything flora related. When visiting Utrecht Science Park you should definitely visit this place as well. Such a shame it is closed during the colder months :(
Koen T — Google review
A small but beautifully maintained garden. Perfect for a quiet stroll and a moment of rest away from the city. A lovely gem in Utrecht!
Jairo H — Google review
It exceeded my expectations. Rock formats, plenty of beautiful thematical part, informative labels, amusing and beautiful at the same time. The subtropical and the tropical greenhouses were my favourite. If you want a romantic date, bring your partner to the butterfly house!
Annie S — Google review
Amazing experience, it’s lovely to walk around the gardens and look at everything. There’s an inside area with more plants to look at, as well as a butterfly enclosure with some lovely butterflies :)

TivoliVredenburg is a game-changer in the Dutch music scene, offering five venues within one compact building. Situated in the charming city of Utrecht, known for its canals and vibrant arts scene, this modern music complex has become a focal point for both local and international visitors. It hosts a diverse range of events, from live concerts to themed parties featuring music from different eras.
One of the best venues in the Netherlands! No doubt, friendly staff, spotless clean. Easy access, no long queues wonderful place for a night out. Only the bar staff should be a lot quicker serving customers. Other than that 10/10!!

Caught Billy Strings for 2 consecutive shows in the Rhonda theater at the Tivoli. Great place. Design keeps everyone close to the performers. Sound was off the charts. Looking forward to my next gig there!
Timothy M — Google review
Honestly this place is very nice and well designed. Went to see foster the people and while there are like 2.000 people the place feel intimate. Staff very friendly, smoking balcony, affordable drinks, great location! But why on earth do you serve Bud and Pepsi?? Both the worst brands on the planet!
Niels D — Google review
First time in the Tivoli. I had the pleasure of attending Ensemble Hemiolia's "Concerti Grossi XXL – Corelli and Melani" concert. The venue's seating is steeply raked, which guarantees a fantastic line of sight from every seat. The acoustics were equally impressive. I especially enjoyed the atmosphere; it's wonderful to see how much passion the Dutch public has for early music—a level of enthusiasm that is quite distinct compared to audiences in Germany.
Matthias O — Google review
Really great venue with multiple entrances and a few stages from what I heard. We had an incredible time here and would return!

Fun concert hall! Saw BANKS and Men I trust live at the Ronda. Multi-level, multi-room

Probably my favourite music venue in the NL. Large variety of concerts on offer pretty much every day of the week, friendly and helpful staff and only a few minutes walking distance from Utrecht Central Station
Dirk H — Google review
Beautiful venue eith a good acoustic for a concert. The architectural design is quite original and the building is very close to Utrecht main station, 5 minutes walk top. Just come when the doors open if you want to sit down in the Groet Zal and preferably, in a convenient spot.

Restaurant
Restaurant Concours, situated on Biltstraat, is a top culinary destination in the city. Chef Alex Zeelenberg's creations are inspired by nature and locally sourced ingredients with a focus on sustainability. The menu changes regularly and features inventive dishes like red mullet with blueberry vinegar and entrecote with salsify. The surprise menu offers delightful surprises such as pickled fish and soy-infused jus. The restaurant also has a nearby city garden that supplies fresh ingredients for their seasonal dishes.
We enjoyed our dinner at Concours. We loved the variety and each one of us had their favourite(s). The 7 courses with half glass wine pairing were beautifully presented and balanced. It's of course pricey but definitely worth it I am looking forward to my next visit!
G C — Google review
Had a great diner with friends. Decided to have our annual diener at Concours. A great choice. Fantastic ambiance. Tables not too close and too far away from each other. Given privacy, while maintaining cosiness. Music and acoustics were well balanced, supporting a good conversation. We had a table near the kitchen. Great to see the chef and his team at work. We enjoyed a five-course dinner. Well balanced, not too big, not too small. The dishes were good, but not at the level yet that would Concours to be rewarded a Michelin start. A little bit excitement / surprises would be needed for that. Service was good. Wines were great, good selection. We enjoyed various pairing wines. All in all, a great evening. Well recommended.
Wim R — Google review
The chef's menu provided a real treat, featuring a variety of truly delicious dishes. The wine selection accompanying the meal was equally excellent. In particular, I particularly enjoyed the crayfish taco with veal raviolo, and the diverse selection of cheese offered as a finale.
Pavol C — Google review
Excellent. Genuine fine dining in Utrecht. Creative, beautifully prepared and presented dishes with delightful wine pairings. Well paced meal. Top notch service. They tick all the boxes. Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience, Concours team.
Tarek H — Google review
We have visited Restaurant Concours several times now, and it’s always on point. It’s truly one of our favorite fine dining restaurants in Utrecht. During our recent visit, we enjoyed a 7-course dinner with each course complemented by a paired wine. The food composition and quality are consistently superb, with well-balanced flavors and delightful surprises in each course. The service is always warm, attentive and pays attention to details. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
Jurian R — Google review
Super last minute booking for 6 people, coming from 4 different countries for a 60th birthday. All foodies, all great friends and all wanting something special. Concours was one of the only places in Utrecht that had a table and what an amazing night. Food was exceptional, and they handled the 'preferences' with speed, professionalism and grace. Our waitress was fantastic and we were shocked to discover at the end of dinner, it was her first evening! We had 5 courses and wine pairings, each course and wine being far better than expected. We sat near the kitchen and the chef was personable and friendly throughout. If you're passing through Utrecht and love great food, support local supplier thinking and want a meal punching well above its weight in inventiveness, service, design and friendliness, then grab a table. Yes portions were small, but each was well crafted with interesting flavour profiles and we didn't leave hungry. Only bad comment is, please create an english language web instance and update the images on the site. they don't do it justice. A great evening and we'd be happy to return.
Martin L — Google review
I've had a few fine dining experiences in Utrecht, but this - so far - has been the best. It was the right balance of actual delicious food and impressive presentation (I feel that sometimes one is sacrificed for the other). The service was professional and the atmosphere was relaxed, and not pretentious. Every course was enjoyable, and I would definitely go back. It's on the expensive side, so worth it for a special occasion :)
Clara B — Google review
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. It can be hard to find a high-end restaurant that also offers great and special vegetarian food, but these dishes really blew me away! The service and wine pairing were excellent and the prices were more than reasonable for the experience that you get.

Beautiful old town hall building
Jordan Z — Google review
(Translated by Google) Utrecht's town hall is more than a special and old town hall. The oldest parts come from 806. The town hall even had to be raised because it was flooded around 900 as the Oudegracht did not yet exist. It existed over the centuries as a merger of the houses of Lichtenberg and Hasenberg. In 1830, after many renovations and conversions, a completely new town hall was built that was inspired by Greek architecture. In 1930 it was expanded again with additions and in 1940 a new separate building was added for civil affairs. In 2000, architect Enric Miralles made many changes to the appearance of the building. The town hall was completely renovated in 2018 and 2019. Only after 5 centuries will the town hall look as all Utrecht residents know it today. On the facade you will find a plaque in honor of Quint Ondaatje (Colombo 1758 - Batavia 1818) a Dutch Patriot.

(Translated by Google) During the open day for the opening of the renovated town hall, we took the opportunity to take a look. The building has been thoroughly renovated - although you cannot see it from the outside - and has been adapted as much as possible (in compliance with the monument law) to the requirements of our time - especially with regard to the sustainability aspect. The council chamber looks beautiful. The enormous wooden beam construction above your head is impressive. The building is wheelchair accessible up to the council chamber.

Oude Hortus, also known as the old university garden, is a historical botanical garden located in the heart of Utrecht. Established in 1723 as a learning resource for university students, it features medicinal plants, an ancient Ginkgo tree, and century-old greenhouses. The garden offers a serene retreat from the bustling city streets and is complemented by a charming museum cafe serving delicious food.
A fairly small but lovely botanical garden, located in the city. The cafe is also excellent. €5 euro for the garden, cafe is open to everyone.

Nice green place in the middle of the fancy Museum district. It’s not big, more like a big garden with very nice trees, pond and especially glass houses with spectacular floating plants/flowers.

Small gardens accessed in a quiet area of Utrecht. It was very pleasant to stroll, sit, delight in the plants, trees and flowers, as well as the history of the place. There is also a museum which we did not go into. Only €5. Card payment only.

Lovely gardens. Great to combine with a visit to the university museum
Helmer K — Google review
I am a BIG fan of this place! The gardens are beautiful, there is great food at the (slightly expensive) restaurant and the museum is fun (especially for kids). My absolute favourite bit are the greenhouses though - stunning colours, great light, tiny cute plants and nicely warm. In short: this is a really good venue for wedding photos in winter! Give the museum a call in advance and they are happy to receive you any time for photos with no extra fee but the entrance costs. Definite rainy weather wedding photos in Utrecht favourite ;)

Nice, clean and cozy little B&B! After being warmly welcomed our host shown us our room. The room was well equipped and clean. It hat some towels, a bathing robe, some stuff to make tea and much more. We slept pretty good in the warm and cozy bed. In the next morning we were offered a rich and tasty breakfast that left no which open. I also liked the free parking and the possibility to take the bus, which starts just around the corner and needs about 20 minutes to the center. All in all a great experience, for a total reasonable price!
