Visited The Village, a café conveniently located on Voorstraat in Utrecht. The atmosphere is a unique blend of rock and tribal vibes, mixed with an industrial aesthetic, creating a distinctive and inviting space. I tried their Iced Latte, which was good, quite refreshing and balanced. I also sampled their Hazelnut Cookie, which was a pleasant surprise—deliciously flavorful without being overly sweet, making it a perfect companion to the coffee. The café itself is cozy, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options, depending on your preference. Whether you’re into café hopping or just looking for a cool spot to relax, The Village is definitely worth a visit.

Ol’ faithful. Faultless coffee shop, music as good as the coffee. Decor and ambience are sick. Would definitely recommend. Cakes and pastries are fantastic and sell out quick! No matter how many they have. So don’t leave it late. And lastly, free stickers!!!

the coffee is really great, smooth but bold flavours with distinct notes. don’t miss out on the pastries either, i had the gluten free cookie and i just had to get another one. the atmosphere is very pleasant and the really good music definitely made me stay for a few hours to study! definitely come check it out when in utrecht :))

This is my favorite place to have coffee in Utrecht! Good coffee beans and good music. The banana bread is delicious and the peanut butter cookie is not far behind. Highly recommended!

This cafe is a rare find, especially in the Netherlands - it opens as early as 8 am., even on Sundays, making it perfect for morning people like me. I personally love sitting outside on the street in the mid-morning sun (when we’re lucky enough to have it). It does get busy at times, but in my experience, the service is always quick. They serve an excellent cappuccino, along with tasty granola with yogurt, sandwiches, and some of the best cakes in the area. My personal favorite is definitely the banana bread! It’s not the kind of place where you’d linger for hours, but it’s just right for soaking up some sun and enjoying a lovely breakfast or coffee break. Inside, I’ve noticed there’s a fee for laptops, which might not appeal to everyone. But overall, the atmosphere is pleasant, and if you’re from the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by.

Products are good but service is beyond terrible. 3 or 4 people working there and even when there is almost no customers they will take 20 minutes to come to your table if they ever come, and if you go to ask for service they get annoyed that you disturb their chatting and phone scrolling so you are tell to sit and wait…we live few blocks away so we have had this repeatedly and it’s not improving since the last 2 years

Good coffee but extremely slow service even with 3 employees and only a few costumers. I have left more than once and I am not going again because they were going first to tables that arrived after mine and were just generally very slow and not experienced enough to know how read the room.

This was my first stop in Utrecht. I had a flat white and it was lovely. The service is AMAZING. The lady taking and serving my order was super nice and friendly. They have quite sufficient seatings outside to enjoy the sun and relax in a Saturday morning. But also a lovely place to set inside and watch from aback. Love the interior. They seem to also serve lunch but I haven't tried any. They have a free WiFi as well. My choice of this coffee spot was a bit random but it was definitely a great decision. Llkeepcit up guys.

One of my favourite coffee places in Utrecht! Freshly baked cakes, organic products, friendly staff and cosy interior - you forget that you are not in the city centre of Utrecht. The benefit of its location is that it is not overly crowded (although busy) - making it the perfect place to work or study (the downside: you must pay hourly if you use your laptop)… or just meet with friends for a cup of coffee or brunch! I hope that we will start seeing more places like that in the area.

Nice place, not too busy, coffee is quite good and nice lunch options. If you’re coming with laptop be prepared to be seated at dedicated tables and pay 2.5 euros per hour (this kinda discouraged me), but otherwise pleasant and friendly cafe.

Nice experience. Friendly staffs and nice atmosphere. There’re some benches outside, not with canal view but on lovely peaceful street. We ordered matcha latte and chai latte. Matcha was ok but must try chai latte. The cinnamon taste got me. Apple pie is a bit hard. Its not too sweet tho

Sometimes a bit slow service (especially in evenings there is definitely under staffing), but they do have the best fries – it has special masala spicing – and Hoegaarden on tap. Perfect combo

Every time we come here for the past years, the service is terrible and sooo slow. There are always so many staff just standing inside and chit chatting, it takes soo long for them to come out and take your order and when you want to order inside they say someone will go and take your order. Well hello ive been waiting already for 20 minutes for someone and thats why i had to come jnside to order. In the past Ive never left a review giving them multiple chances, but today it wasn’t even busy and thats just unacceptable. We are never coming back, its a shame cus this place is nice near the canal but i guess thats the only appealing thing and bad service just ruins your mood and experience.

Came for a quick snack and some drinks before a concert. The nachos was not constructed well, uneven toppings. Borrel snacks were standard. Nothing amazing. Location is nice and the high ceilings are nice. However they also seemed a bit short on staff/staff were un-attentive so it was hard to get their attention to order, so much so we decided to skip the last round.

The food wasn’t the best and wasn’t the worst. The location is great, super central and beautiful. I would go again as a nice place to catch up with a friend.

For some reason the shift manager was on a power trip and had the urge to make passive aggressive comments about our reservation. Weird.

So its the first time trying all vegetables based dishes for dinner and i have to say i was surprised. The food tasted good and it was pleasant. Only 3 stars for service because it took me 3 hours to dine (5 dishes) and i had to push to bring me plates. Overall ok

Very good plant-based restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy, the staff was welcoming. The food was nice- apparently the menu is seasonal and they change it often. I had the 5 course dinner. I loved 3 dishes, 2 were ok. Overall the experience was good.

Incredibly bland food with no taste whatsoever. I was told the vegetable bowl would be warm, it was served on a pumpkin puree base that was straight from the fridge. Unfortunately, the dish I ordered has never seen seasoning in its life. The bread I asked for on the side was also chewy sourdough. It’s a decent place to work out of, but I’m disappointed with the food as I had been really excited to try it. It perhaps also has to do with my palate, I’m not used to bland unseasoned food.

Went here alone and was only planning to drink some chai latte and have some snack while (finally) continuing to read my novel, but ended up with a 3-course dinner, and I'm glad I did!! My first time trying Aardperen, I love how they combine it with a savoury chips. Another memorable one for me is how they cook the mushrooms, echt lekker!. Dessert was bread pudding i think? With ice cream and mousse. A refreshing palate cleanser. I got seated at a very comfy couch, quite secluded. 2 hours just flew by. I was quite lucky to get a seat despite not having a reservation. And the staff are lovely! Top notch service.

What a wonderful restaurant! The food, the location (you can sit outside next to the beautiful canal), and the staff—everything was perfect. The menu is varied, with a quick and easy choice between four or five courses. Very tasty and inventive food; the chefs were all fantastic. Compliments to everyone working here. Wow wow wow! This place was full of colour, life, good energy and very tasty food at a very reasonable price. Each plate was more and more enjoyable and tasty with a wide range of flavours, from very noticeable to much more subtle that’s only a finely tuned tongue would appreciate. This is my number one place to eat in all of Utrecht and I can’t wait to come back. Thanks for being so kind and lovely to two tourists.

Cute little place to have a quick coffee (: Love that they offer organic brews! Had their cappuccino which was good; although I prefer it a tad stronger, I don't blame them because I know that one shot of espresso is quite common, just keep that in mind!

The vintage decor gives the place a really unique charm, with old bikes and retro furniture all around. It’s small inside, but the vibe is cozy and welcoming. The outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day. Friendly staff too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Utrecht and love good coffee with a bit of character!

Small coffee shop just few of chairs take one and seat next of river, all the baked goods are homemade. I had a filter coffee and a Dutch sweet. I enjoyed the experience and recommend stopping by this place.

This is the best flat white I had in all of Utrecht. Found this small coffee shop at a corner by chance. Although they don’t have sitting space, the coffee was of high quality. Can highly recommend them

Lovely staff. Nice coffee and plenty of workspace seating if you want to do some work or study. They don't serve substantial food options but there are some great looking pastries and nibbles to choose from. It's close to some great shops in the area as well so come to relax a bit before you continue your journey.

A roastery that serves coffee on the weekends (Fr-Su). Don’t expect a café that serves you quickly, the owner likes to have a chat about the coffee with the customers. It’s a great experience if you really like coffee. No light roasts served there, but that’s ok.

What a great place. The atmosphere is cozy and frantic at the same time. It was a great pleasure to watch the barista perform his art while controlling the line and trying to talk to everyone. Great locally roasted coffee as well. Well be back soon!

Very nice coffee in a lovely place and the owner was really friendly. Recently there was an update in the service. You can have latte, cappuccino, etc. only in the weekends. During the week he only serves black coffee (you can ask for milk in it).

Decent selection of classic good Belgian beers. Some waiters were really friendly and professionals, others I think they were looking for shortcuts, but overall nice experience nothing too bad. I loved the place inside, drinking a beer there was really good. I loved that each beer had his own correct paired glass. One of the nice waiter also stated that they didn't have any Guinness anymore, so suggested to have another stout; then corrected himself saying that they didn't have any glasses for it, so this is definitely a positive point for their honesty and professionalism. Food wise I think they can improve, my salad was everything but a salad. Overall would be a 4/5, but I didn't like the approach towards some people. Place inside was almost empty, we were there for lunch, most tables were reserved for the evening. Those entering were first suggested to sit outside or in a not reserved table, even if more than 6 hours were between current time and the one marked on the table. I also saw one poor guy that just wanted to see the tap beers at the counter, friendly being sent back outside with the reason that tap beers were marked on the menu. He just wanted to have a look 😅 Then when a tourist group came in with their guide, they could just roam around taking pictures and videos while talking, like it's not a restaurant. It's fine and understandable, the place is very beautiful and probably with rich history, but it was funny to see the difference.

Incredible place. I was surprised the moment I got inside. It’s a huge and nice place. I never imagined to see a Bar/Restaurante in a church. Despite being a bit noise when it is crowded, it’s outstanding! Service incredible and friendly. Carpaccio one of the best I ever had!

This Belgian beer café is a hidden gem with a remarkable setting. It appears to be housed in a former church, which gives the entire space welcoming feel. The location alone makes it worth a visit! I had a few bitterballen with my drink, which were crispy, hot, and just what you’d hope for. The staff was super friendly and impressively quick, even though the place was quite busy. The beer selection is massive, one of the most extensive I’ve seen. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just curious to try something new, you’ll definitely find something here.

While it's a unique setting with great beer and good food, I found the natural acoustics of the church amplified the sound of everyone too much during rush hour. At some point I had to shout for my friend to hear what I was saying. If I went at a quieter time I would probably have had a much better experience. Recommended: If you're looking for a unique or new experience. Not Recommended: Big groups, business meetings, during busiest hours (unless you don't mind the noise)

Cool place to go and have a beer - they have a huge selection, so you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly and quite helpful. Reservations recommended, since this place gets very busy (and noisy). They don't do take-aways, but the food is delicious so you probably won't need to take any home :)

Great experience at the Streetfood Club! The food was delicious, with a variety of dishes inspired by different cuisines. The prices were quite reasonable considering the quality and creativity of the menu in my opinion. The ambiance was super nice since the decoration of the place is stylish and i loved the retro aesthetic. It gives the place a unique vibe. It’s the kind of setting that works for anything really, whether it’s a casual lunch, a dinner with friends, or a date night. Service was friendly and efficient. The only minor issue was the kimchi, which was way too salty, perhaps just a one-off with that batch. Aside from that, everything else was spot on. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back myself.

I had the High Par-Tea, which turned out to be a really fun and tasty experience. A playful mix of savory street-food bites and sweet treats, with plenty of variety to keep things interesting. Good food overall, had some really salty bites from the tuna unfortunately. Most food was sadly also barely warm or had too much stuff going on. We could see the kitchen from our view and it appears that food was staying at the counter for abit. Pretty interior however the decor and colours can be overwhelming. Also ALOT of chatter, - lots of girls. Outdoor seating looks way more pleasant.

A Wonderful Surprise! I didn’t quite know what to expect — it had been a while since I made the reservation, and I had forgotten what the photos looked like. What I did remember was that the menu featured exotic dishes, and we were really looking forward to our lunch. And yes, it definitely exceeded our expectations! My Croque Madame was delicious, as were the shrimp dumplings. The passionfruit mojito mocktail was absolutely amazing — fresh and perfectly balanced. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The interior is beautifully styled, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. In short: highly recommended. We will definitely be coming back! 15/07/2025 Just like the first time, we had another wonderful dining experience. This time we tried different dishes, and they were all delicious. The cocktails were fantastic — my favorites are the Bubblicious Daiquiri, the Pornstar Martini Slush, and of course the Passionfruit Mojito. The service was excellent as well. I had booked for 1:00 PM, but due to public transport issues we arrived 30 minutes late. I had informed them by email, and it was no problem at all upon arrival. We’re definitely not done dining here 🤭 and will be back again soon! 25/10/2025 It was my third time here and my girlfriend’s second, and once again we had a delicious meal! The dishes are super tasty and prepared with great care. We’ll definitely be coming back, because we haven’t tried everything yet. Highly recommended!

The welcome upon arrival is very friendly, and you step into a beautiful and welcoming setting that exudes tranquility. The food and drinks were delicious, and the guests didn't overpower you, so it wasn't noisy. The beautiful, clean, and well-maintained restrooms are also a huge plus. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. Definitely recommended.

Last night, I went out for dinner with four girlfriends at The Street Food Club in Utrecht, and wow – what an incredible experience it was! From the food to the interior and the overall vibe: everything was spot on. We chose the shared dining menu for €35 per person, which I highly recommend if you’re going with a group. For that price, you get a wide variety of small, surprising dishes, each with its own character and often served with a delicious matching sauce. The food is truly special and unique, the kind of dishes you won’t easily find anywhere else. Think creative combinations, bold flavors, and presentation that turns your table into a colorful celebration. What made the dinner even more memorable is that at the end of the menu, you get to pick one dish to have again, a fun and generous touch that really makes the experience stand out. The service was also excellent. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they came to our table quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The interior is absolutely stunning. Every room is decorated differently, each with its own unique, eclectic style. The design is playful, bold, and full of personality. The music matched the atmosphere perfectly, fun, upbeat, and trendy without being too loud. The location is also great, right on the corner across from the church, making it easy to find and adding to the charm of the place. The only thing for us as long dutch people, was the space for our legs. The table was quite small, which caused that we didn’t have enough space for our legs. In short: great atmosphere, delicious food, beautiful decor, and top-notch service. The Street Food Club is a place I’ll definitely come back to, and one I’ll be recommending to others for sure.

Very small portion for a bowl that have basically only some leafs and courgette. Paid almost 14Euro. That’s definitely a scamm. I would absolutely bot recommand this place.

I had breakfast there because I found out it was so highly rated. Indeed the coffee was excellent the view was unmatched and I had a great experience with a pistachio croissant which I've never tried before! Was delicious! I was sorely disappointed about the açai bowl which was the main reason I came there. It seem to have been made from some kind of powder or something because it was warm and bitter and it was nothing like fruits to give it zest and flavor. Açai bowls are one of my favorite things to have anywhere in the world, and when they are excellent they are really remarkable Unfortunately in this case I had at Max and Anne was very poor, and tasted quite terrible!

Quite a disappointing experience. Since this place focuses a lot on breakfast, I expected the scrambled eggs to be tasty, but unfortunately they weren’t. The texture was strange, with an overcooked or reheated taste, and there were even some green parts in the eggs. When I asked, the staff explained it was from the rucola on the side, but my husband’s bacon and eggs had the same issue. At 13 euros per bowl, it really didn’t feel worth it, and sadly we couldn’t finish our meals. After this visit, I don’t think I’d return to this or their other locations

The system of online ordering is glitch while you use it, but at the end doesn't works. We ordered same thing , but one of them was presented differently. Waitress also look unprofessional, have messy hair style, too big and many accessories and also not matching uniform, and they put the dessert on the plate with hand, though I haven't seem that they wash them. Although food is tasty it's not the same as on the menu

We had the breakfast plate for two and it was enough for the three of us. Very nice sitting outside and watch the people go by.

Even I would say 1 is too much for this cafe, at first the coffee was too cold , the cake came 15 minutes and wrong! And even when we said it is wrong order , it took then 10 minutes to bring is right order ! It was disappointing and we wouldn’t recommend them meanwhile I was sitting in fort of the kitchen and it was really disgusting seeing that chief picking up the things without using the gloves or a fork !

A lively traditional belgium beer bar with an incredible Selection of beers, over 80 in bottle and 20 on draught, mainly belgium but a few dutch beers as well - ij wit beer from Amsterdam at 6.5% is my favourite wheat beer!.all beers on a large board and a handheld menu. Bustling atmosphere, bitterballen were tasty too. If you love beer you must go here.

It's a decent bar, but the same as all bars in the Netherlands, they are very expensive. 7.15euro for a single Guinness is a little too much. The bar was cozy, quiet, and not crowded at all (positive or negative up to you). The bartender was friendly and would help you with charging your phone, and they have multiple plugs available. Guinness was too bitter for my taste, but that's on Guinness :))

Good selection of beers, especially Belgian ones. No service, you have to order at the bar. No actual food, only snacks available. Good place for a couple of special beers but not for eating. Can get very busy with all the Dutch people speaking at the same time 😉

Had an awesome breakfast here! Luckily I got a table very quickly as they were VERY busy. And I can see why. The food was absolutely delicious and so was the coffee. I had the Norwegian breakfast and a cortado. Sadly my coffee only arrived as I finished my meal, but the service was super kind and I really enjoyed my time here.

Went here for my first breakfast in Utrecht. Just a minutes walk from Bunk so great location. Lovely coffee, food and atmosphere. I was served by Gucci who was super friendly and gave me some great tips about places to go and see in Utrecht. Was lucky to have a sunny breakfast in the outside seating area while enjoying my coffee and my book. Would highly recommend for any coffee enthusiast who likes to start your day with a great cup of coffee.

We had breakfast at Café 30ml Vredenburg and really enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly. We ordered pancakes and the hummus toast—both were absolutely delicious! The prices were also totally reasonable. A lovely spot to start the day in Utrecht. Highly recommended!

30ml is easily one of the best cafés I’ve been to I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it was absolutely perfect. The matcha croissant was fresh, flaky, and full of flavour. Every bite felt carefully made and beautifully balanced. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. They were super friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcome. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great food, and feel taken care of. Can’t wait to go back for another slow morning here.

On google maps it claims to be a specialty coffee but they only serve medium roast. They lack any other options andvthe staff is really unfriendly. But at least, what they do, the do it really slowly.

Hi, fellow traveler! I've visited this place to chat with a close friend. All in all, I liked it. Here're the pros and cons. Pros; - Interior design is sweet and cozy. (Especially windowside places are nice in rainy days. You will have a nice view.) - Their coffee and desserts are not perfect, but good enough. - Staff is very friendly. - It's very close to the center of Utrecht. (You can just continue your trip without walking too much.) - Prices are affordable. Cons; - Mostly, it's a little bit crowded. - Sometimes, it's noisy and hard to have a quiet conversation.

They used to have the most velvety chai latte, sadly not the case anymore. I’m also not a fan of the new interior design, it’s so dark and full of plastic. It used to be so much brighter, happier and cuter. I also miss the cinnamon sugar. I don’t know what happened that triggered these changes, but I don’t think it’s one of my favorite cafes anymore.

They started to shout at her while I was on the call. Expect to have me in in, in the near future. I don't speak Dutch, and responding in a language I don't understand is itself disrespectful. Second, update your contact information or actually answer your published phone number. I called three times between 9:30 AM and 1 PM specifically to avoid a public dispute and resolve this matter privately in a civilized manner. I only mentioned coming in person because you failed to answer your business line during operating hours. It's unprofessional to publish contact details and then ignore calls. Simply answer your phone. Third, if you interpret my message as threatening, that confirms to me that you acted in bad faith when you publicly harassed Kateryna while she was on a call with me from thousands of kilometers away. Your reaction to this review demonstrates malicious behavior. I need to know which authority in the Netherlands has jurisdiction over customer service standards and harassment complaints. We ordered the huevos rancheros and peachy pancakes. Both were outstanding. So many flavours and every bite was delicious. Would recommend both highly. The juices and unsweetened ice tea were also very good. Nice atmosphere as well. Great way to finish our visit in Ultrecht. ☺️

Really nice brunch spot tucked away in Griftpark- perfect to sit outside on a sunny day. The Turkish eggs were particularly delicious with some of their focaccia. Highly recommend for a sunny weekend brunch

I ordered turkish eggs, they arrived with such an unpleasant presentation. The other dishes of the table were looking fine. Mine was served in a dessert plate (much smaller than the other servings) with just some bread on top of 2 spinach leafes, and of course the eggs. The dish size were vere very little, we were all still hungry after brunch. I now realized they even charged me more for the drinks we ordered (9 instead of 7,50 as menu). Sorry, I will not come back!

The restaurant has a good environment and atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly. But the food is mediocre overpriced. The eggs in the brunch plate are overcooked, and my friends don't like pancakes very much; two of my friends ordered salmon waffles, one likes it and the other thinks it's not amazing.

Karibus menu changes regularly but there are always vegan savory and sweet options available! I’ve had several pancake variations through the years and always loved them. Service is quick and friendly on weekdays and food comes out quick!

Came here for a quick bite and a drink. The homemade iced tea is really yummy. I also ordered a toastie—it was good, but the prep time took 20 minutes. Not the fastest, but overall, a nice environment.

Great little find on our quick trip to Utrecht. Smoothie bowl was super fresh & filling (although I could have eaten ladles of that peanut butter!) and the cheesy eggs on the breakfast were 💯

Had cake and a single espresso. The cake was absolutely terrific. The espresso was lovely also, but there was only one type of beans to choose from. Roasted by local roaster Keen. As a coffee shop that doesn’t roast its own beans, Cupp does a very good job. There were a few bean references from Keen roaster available for sale along with funky beans from a roaster in Amsterdam. If you want a friendly coffee shop and good coffee, this is a perfect spot. If you are a coffee snob and seek more bean choices, maybe aim for roaster Keen’s coffee shops instead.

The most lace is ok. The food was mid. I got a breakfast and the cheese on my egg was plastic American kind (no offence USA but the cheese is terrible). The service lady was smilie at least. Especially when she informed me that in order to keep the place cosy they put people with laptops at the front window(with only one plug at the corner). I was not aware that my laptop broke feng shui rules but their cafe their choice I guess. Until you realise: They CHARGE for using your laptop. 2.5€ without informing you prior. Tldr: don’t bother there is another caffe at the next corner.

The coffee is excellent. As soon as you sit down, even before placing your order, they bring you a glass of water. They have their own pastries, and much of what they serve is freshly prepared on the spot once you order. Because of this, the waiting time can be a bit longer, but never too long. On one occasion, after a slightly longer wait, I was even given a free cinnamon roll. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially if you manage to get a table with a bench in the corner.

Caffee location is really nice and near by city center. The service was relly good there, we were in this coffee first time. My first impression was very possitive. 🤩 I love flatwhite - really good taste of coffee. And they have also a lots of coffee types. Som you have a rich selection. And what about food? Very lovely and deliciius combination for this sendwitch. 😋 Bread was aspecially fluffy and fresh. They have also a big sellection af home made cakes and sweets - good combo with great coffee. Inside it was little bit small and crowded, but it is cosy place there.

Had a great coffee and tasty avo-toast to start the day. Would recommend. Added bonus of the children's play area for any young families.

A nice vintage cafe in mid Utrecht with delicious coffee. Calm, freindly staff and the food is good. Kid-friendly as they have a spacious playroom full of toys in the back of the cafe. Improvement points: service a bit slow , Plants need more care. I would come back here💗

This is one of my favorite cafés in Utrecht! Perfect atmosphere for reading, catching up with friends or showing people around. It’s not far from the center but coffee, food and staff are amazing! I’ve since moved away but I catch myself from time to time missing this great place :)

We came for gathering but receive a very bad service from waitress. I ask for the beer on the menu but the waitress does not know it and ask me to check with the bar instead, what a service!! We order catch of the day and the waitress brings the food and spill the oil on my friend’s iPhone…seriously unacceptable. No urgently or action to take necessary action just ask after served the plate whether my friend phone is ok or not…. In term of the food, we order variety of food to share and most of the food is very salty. The fried ideas over cooked, rib is mostly burnt so do the chicken. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for dining dinking at the bar is ok.

Great place just the service was to me kind of strange we ordered two ice coffee and a tea but when the waiter came she accidentally spilled some coffee on the table…. Now you would think she gets something would comeback to clean it real quick but no we had to do it ourselves. Was good we had baby whipes with us but otherwise was a bit disappointed….. the food itself was OK would rather advice to go here for drinks rather than to eat.

They repeatedly got the products and quantities we ordered wrong and served incorrect items. The service is extremely slow. If you don’t want to wait 1.5 hours after ordering your food, do not come here. We also ordered duck, and it was undercooked inside. The oysters came gritty and uncleaned. I absolutely do not recommend this place—don’t come. We were very dissatisfied.

Wanted a quick bite and popped inside as it was reasonably busy. Food / drinks were OK. Service was mediocre, slow, not attentive, forgot my order (twice), wrong table.....

I've been coming here every now and then through the years but recently their portions have become really small. If you order a broodje kroket it's not a regular size one but a small one, on a small bun, with nothing on the side. No salad, no sauce, no fries... the drinks are also quite expensive it ended up being more expensive than the food (2 drinks per person). We went to get some extra food somewhere else afterwards.

Great restaurant with a good, well rounded meals that are tasty and of good quality. They have a variety of banquet rooms, I ate at the top floor which is great, good lighting, high ceiling and spacious for a couple dozen people. They offered a three course menu which was great, a salad, main and dessert. Nice brewery at the lower level.

Delicious food at a gorgeous location near the canals of Utrecht. Very easy to reach by foot from the train station. The interior and atmosphere is fun and modern with a wink to the old days. There is also a friendly house cat.

Was going to stop for food, but we were ignored by the serving staff. We ordered via the online system and our drinks were thrown at us. Comfortably the worst service we have had in our trip to the Netherlands. It’s a beautiful spot, they obviously don’t need to try very hard

They changed menu one day before, so it was a bit confusing to order. The place is lovely and I recommend sitting outside, too bad the canal tables were closed on a wednesday. Had the satay and their own witbier, strong taste and go very well together, the satay is not spicy at all, which I like.

Nice place but the salad was a bit below standard. A bit boring and mainly salad and carrots to go with the goat cheese. Wouldn’t order that again. Fish was good according to my fiends. They have their own beers, that made up for it.

It’s an alright place that’s a bit less crowded, however, we were there on a busy day and literally wouldn’t be seated. They said lunch would take half an hour but eating from a sofa isn’t ideal. The apple crumble clearly came out of the freezer, warm but hard apples. They have a good selection of beers though.

Went there with a bigger group and everything went really well! The communication before the reservation went very smooth and we had a nice dinner there! We had some really nice appetizers to share, and I had the vegetarian burger which was quite nice! They have quite a variety of drinks as well, including beers. The staff was very nice and helpful. Overall it was a very nice experience!

Great Dutch food in Utrecht! We needed a place to eat at noon, after walking around Utrecht in the morning. I saw this place near us recommended on here so we gave it a spin and it sure surpassed our expectations. The food was really cozy and heartwarming, accompanied by great, friendly service. The place is situated in a nice, quiet tree-born square. They were also hosting a delightful jazz band accompanying our eating, part of their culture-agenda. Would definitely recommend!!!

I find it very weird that the staff, not all of course, but mostly treat the international customers very badly! I observed it very closely and the staff are very friendly and nice towards Dutch people, and very rude and sometimes aggressive towards non-Dutch speakers! Is this place non-Dutch unfriendly kind of a place? if so please let us know so we don't come here and spend our money and nice time!!!!!!

Cool spot with live jazz playing — gives off a great vibe, especially on a late summer or autumn afternoon. Only downside: the service. They’re quick to seat you, but after that it feels like you’re invisible while they do their own thing.

On planning my trip to the Netherlands - a country I was about to visit for the first time - I decided to stay in Utrecht instead of Amsterdam despite the fact that Amsterdam is one of Europe's most iconic cities. I felt that Amsterdam could do with one less Brit falling into a canal and on seeing that Utrecht is actually called 'Little Amsterdam' then that would be an excellent alternative choice of experiencing Dutch culture for a few days. When I got there. I was happy but I was also hungry too so near my hotel was Hofman's and it turned out to be a perfect choice as I went in there daily when I was in Utrecht. I had the same thing daily which was beef rendang and it tasted lovely - well, so much so I had it again and again because when I returned to England the chances of myself eating beef rendang is next to zero. Add to the delicious food, it had a great atmosphere and great service. However, despite all these great things about it, the best thing about my experience there was I got talking to some of the guys there and we would talk about travel (and the delights of Manchester) football (the fleeting fortunes of the mighty reds as well as the unfortunate business of Ajax losing to Alkmaar) and I don't know if they did this on both nights because they thought I might be lonely and might have wanted some company. Being a worldwide traveller like I am then you get accustomed to dining alone and have done so from Osaka to Iquique - being a solo traveller means it is a solitary endeavour both mentally and physically. If they did think this then it shows their wonderful empathy and kindness that I might have wanted company. I was happy to talk to them because they were interesting and pleasant and an absolute credit to their families as well as their workplace. A review can talk about the food and the prices (both were excellent by the way) but sometimes the humanity of such places need to be highlighted and I am happy to do this with Hofman in this review so it gets a full five stars from me.

One of the best venues in the Netherlands! No doubt, friendly staff, spotless clean. Easy access, no long queues wonderful place for a night out. Only the bar staff should be a lot quicker serving customers. Other than that 10/10!!

Caught Billy Strings for 2 consecutive shows in the Rhonda theater at the Tivoli. Great place. Design keeps everyone close to the performers. Sound was off the charts. Looking forward to my next gig there!

Honestly this place is very nice and well designed. Went to see foster the people and while there are like 2.000 people the place feel intimate. Staff very friendly, smoking balcony, affordable drinks, great location! But why on earth do you serve Bud and Pepsi?? Both the worst brands on the planet!

First time in the Tivoli. I had the pleasure of attending Ensemble Hemiolia's "Concerti Grossi XXL – Corelli and Melani" concert. The venue's seating is steeply raked, which guarantees a fantastic line of sight from every seat. The acoustics were equally impressive. I especially enjoyed the atmosphere; it's wonderful to see how much passion the Dutch public has for early music—a level of enthusiasm that is quite distinct compared to audiences in Germany.

Really great venue with multiple entrances and a few stages from what I heard. We had an incredible time here and would return!

As a venue it brings a lot of great bands, but it get really crowded and it gets really uncomfortable.

I am quite conflicted here. From my perspective the food was overall (very) nice. However... - My girlfriend had a Cesar salad with dressing, bread crumbs and literally only (mostly unchopped) romaine lettuce. Nothing else (in the salad). - On a Saturday early evening (not even 6 pm) the restaurant ran out of crunchy tofu and the kitchen didn't communicate that to the waiters. - We had to wait for the dessert for almost 40 minutes(which then was more sorbet with fudge than fudge with sorbet). - If you aren't completely full after a 3 course meal (120€ for 2 people) then there is conceptually something off. You want to orientate as a restaurant at higher cuisine? Fair enough, but even at a 5 course meal bread for instance, or generally some carbohydrates, are simply included. A pity, it could have been easily a much better experience. Thank you to the waiter though.

The food was absolutely amazing! We had both main courses and dessert, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. I came with two meat eaters and even they said it was delicious, always a good sign. The location is lovely, with a cozy outdoor terrace. Definitely recommend!

1. This place is centrally located. Very close to the Centraal Station. The locality is also very Dutch (which is amazing). 2. The staff is very friendly and patient. Fast service too. 3. They make their drinks from premade syrup. So it's not cold pressed or anything. For the price I expected cold pressed. 4. We ordered their Shakshuka and sandwich. 5. It was definitely filling. And the taste was good too. Nothing great. But pretty good. Overall a good place. I would recommend a visit here if you're around.

Wauw! This was delicious! I am gluten and lactose free so to have a menu where I can eat ALL of the menu is a dream. The only downside is that I definitely over ate because each dish was a flavor bomb!

I like that this restaurant is now fully gluten-free because I'm celiac and have IBS. However, I feel the quality of the food and service got worse over the years. On my last visit, I had the 8 small dishes menu. Shared them with a friend. The cauliflower dish had weird crips that tasted like cardboard, the salad was watery and flavorless, the waiters forgot to bring the mushrooms, and the remaining dishes were only impressive in appearance but not in taste or texture. An hour later my friend got diarrhea and I struggled a lot to diggest the food. Honestly, I wish they had some non vegan options because of IBS I sometimes struggle digesting vegan food and I think this was one of those cases. Based on this experience, I recommend sticking to one big dish. And to the restaurant I suggest at least to guarantee the quality of the food because cardboard and watery are not good characteristics of food 😅

We waited over 45 mins for a couple of toasts. They said there's a problem in the kitchen and we apologize but that was after the wait. Just a simple "sorry" is what we got after wasting almost an hour waiting for our food. Decoration is fantastic tho.

Very great place. Food is very delicious to us as we love to hv boil eggs add up with salmons, and nachos also very lovely. Service is very good too as her smile is really charming. We definitely will come back.

The food was tasty but we waited 40 minutes to get eggs on toast when we were starving. We were eventually informed that there was a problem in the kitchen, which was causing the delay, but that was after a whole 40 minutes had passed. We would have appreciated if that were communicated to us earlier so we could maybe change our order or go somewhere else. No effort to rectify the situation was done either. It ruined the experience for us.

Food here was simply not worth the price and a complete mismatch to the quality of the interior and location. Inside the restaurant is nice and in a great area but sadly all 4 dishes we tried were mediocre to bad. Watermelon Feta... Grilled watermelon just isn't a thing because the mouth-feel is disgusting. Crisp, fresh watermelon would have been so much better. Asparagus was badly overcooked. Too much lemon. Was the best dish of the 4. The risotto was watery and bland. With lots of salt and pepper was edible but not at all worth the price. Steak was gray, clearly right out of the freezer. Medium rare is hard to accomplish when you are starting from such a low quality product and it was rubbery and unpleasant. Potatoes were greasy and poorly put together. Salad was weird and difficult to eat. Maybe a bad night for the chef but it really gave me kitchen nightmares vibes. Worst meal in NL and for over €100 a horrible experience. Avoid for dinner. At least the drinks were good.

The interior is stunning, filled with beautiful shades of blue and plenty of lush plants, creating a cozy atmosphere. I visited with a friend and we indulged in a delightful meal - brioche bread topped with crayfish, avocado toast paired with salmon, and a side of Risotto Bitterballen. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the freshness of each ingredient truly stood out. The dishes lived up to the hype and were definitely worth the price. Plus, the presentation was impeccable, adding to the overall dining experience. The prices were well worth for what you get and I definitely recommend this place.

Luc is a 10/10 for us! Have been here several times and always love to come back! The first floor is beautiful, full of plants, with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. And the staff is always smiley and welcoming. Best dishes so far are the turkish eggs and the chicken n waffle. Highly recommended!

Nice, cozy restaurant. We went with a group of 16 and had booked the private room. Really good food, and the presentation was one of the best I have seen. However, we had to wait around 30-45 minutes between courses (which is explainable for such a big group, but still something to consider) I had the ribeye steak, which was amazingly flavorful. The vegetables on the side were also a great addition. I would recommend picking the 'wentelteefjes' as dessert, as they were impeccable.

The weather was nice, so I had breakfast here. The food was good. I had the Good Morning toastie and fresh mint tea. The service was good as well. It took a little longer than expected, as it was still quite early and the kitchen was just getting started. However, this was communicated clearly. On top of that, you have a beautiful view over the Neude and the library. All in all, definitely recommended!

There are alot of pros to this place : 40 years in existence, friendly staff and service, the music playing was awesome and tasteful. The decor is sharp, the seating is comfortable and the restrooms very clean. Cocktail was good but the food I ordered, the chicken Satay, was served nearly cold and the sauce was thick (and cold). Served with bread and rice chips which I dont eat. So all I got from my meal order was coleslaw and seriously below expectation chicken. I wish I could give 5 star on this one everything was beautiful and good service but I would never order food here again.

Will not return, was very disappointed. We had mediocre food: the avocado on toast (bland), the club sandwich (way too much cheese) and the burrata sandwich (basically just bread with tomato and burrata). The actual food menus were scarce, so we had to share 1 tiny (and dirty) menu. Not too many veg/vegan options to choose from. The place was understaffed when we were there, so we had to wait a long time and actually just got up to order ourselves (which was first met with resistance, but luckily the bartender realised we would have left otherwise). Staff was friendly but just not enough of them around. Lastly, I would advise not to go to the restroom - they are disgusting!

One of the best cafés I’ve ever tried! The espresso and cappuccino were absolutely delicious – truly top-notch quality. The prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Special thanks to Felice, one of the staff members, who was incredibly kind and polite. Her calm and friendly attitude really made our visit even more enjoyable. This definitely won’t be my last visit here!

Lovely brunch spot in Utrecht central. The only downfall is there is limited indoor seating for winter but their patio is heated and the provide blankets. The breakfast for two was the best! Their banana bread is off the charts delicious.

There were multiple people working a half full restaurant and terrace, yet it took almost twenty minutes to get our drinks. We then weren’t asked about food (during lunch time) nor did we get enough menu’s for us all. When your prices are as high as Broodnodig you can’t have people waiting this long for their orders and have the service being that lackluster. A bummer for a place I used to love.

I don't visit Utrecht often but last sunday I did. We sat outside and though this was the only table available, showing how busy it was with the sunshine out and about, Nils or Niels came over quickly and treated us in a delightfully hospitable manner. The homemade ice tea with hibiscus is delicious and very refreshing when it is warm, would definitely recommend!

A place owned by a Swedish family and offering nice set of Swedish dishes and deserts. I visited this place for breakfast and was gladly surprised. Normally, I do not expect anything special from a breakfast place in Utrecht as most such places offer generic dishes of average quality and soul-less coffee. This place was completely opposite, I tried a nice Swedish bun with cinamon and a toast with ham and cheese. Fresh and original. Moreover, the coffee was excellent. It's quality was far above the average Utrecht level. I would not agree with 4.2/5 rating, this place deserves much higher rating. Broodnodig is a small lunchroom located on the edge of the center and within walking distance of the Dom-Tower. Unfortunately, the interior is not inviting and definitely needs a refresh. Menu/Lunch is neat, but price quality is just right. It's in this sense, especially because of the somewhat boring setting, not to price your own out of the market. More than fine for a quick breakfast or lunch, but we won't be back after 1x. Unfortunately just not special enough.

There is nothing to dislike about this cozy place! Nice sandwich, homemade cookies and snack options, great coffee and lovely personnel. They have alternative options if you have any dietary restrictions.

Arrived at the bar (Sunday evening) after reading reviews about service being poor and drinks being amazing. I don’t think the service is anything to write home about, but that’s not why I came. If you came to be amazed, let it be because of the libations. I had the espresso martini which was fantastic, and then followed that by the Old Fashioned which took some time but was PERFECT. If you enjoy an old fashioned, this is the place to get one. I also tried the Yellow Bird which was really fruit (sweet) forward, but flavor fantastic. As the rest of the reviews state, if you come for drinks you won’t be disappointed. Bravo. Did have some good conversation with the bartender as well once he was done doing his work on the computer. I did hear him engaging in educating other customers on different drinks and whiskeys as well, so nice to hear that passion. Definitely recommend.

The cocktails were great, but the service was disappointing. We were a small group of three, and the bar wasn’t busy, yet we felt overlooked. It was hard not to wonder if our experience was affected by the fact that we were the only non-white, non-Dutch speakers, as the other customers seemed to receive better service.

This is a beautiful cocktail bar. The atmosphere is lovely, the owner/bartender is incredibly knowledgeable. The drinks are top tier, the selection is fantastic. It gets busy, like busy busy, on the weekends. Don’t be a jerk - wait or go somewhere else. This is a small bar for people who really enjoy cocktails. One of my favorites in the world.

Small cocktail bar where the love for cocktails and Japanese Whisky is celebrated. Since it's currently closed due to it-which-must-not-be-named, they offer a delivery service, which is also highly recommendable! Of course the social component is missing, but if you are a cocktail fan, do try it :)

Very nice cocktailbar. The cocktailmaker didn't speak any Dutch but that didn't bother us. He was very informative and clearly knew his stuff. Our favorite cocktail was the lion's tail. We also ordered some Parma meat. This was a big quantity but I feel the quality could be better. Maybe give less meat but higher quality.

While the matcha was a bit underwhelming and lacked the bold flavor you were hoping for, the shortcake was outstanding—perfectly made and truly delicious. The standout was the service: friendly, helpful, and respectful of dietary concerns. The staff went the extra mile to check ingredients, which is always appreciated. The interior was also lovely and inviting. Overall, a very good spot with room for improvement in the drinks.

Great place for working or studying. Most coffee shops are small/cozy with limited seating, but this is somewhere you can easily find space to work. Four different seating areas on the first floor alone, plus seating upstairs and outside. There are also outlets at the long table downstairs, which is a huge plus. Coffee is great (can’t speak for the food; didn’t order any—but they have a cheap breakfast + coffee option on the menu👍👍), and baristas are nice. Good music playing, and it’s not too loud. Also, no speakers in the area where I’m sitting (long table downstairs), which I love because it’s not distracting or too loud to take calls. WiFi is free/unsecured and seems to have a strong signal. No issues so far.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the cake, which clearly came from pre-made molds and was served frozen, even after being placed on the plate. For a café, we expected more freshness and quality. However, the coffee was very good and nicely prepared.

Great location and ambiance. Excellent for that small town, no laptop vibe, with hipster music. Unfortunately baked goods and teas are not to my liking. Croissants are perfect crunch outside but inside is thick like a brick. Ginger teas are very weak/warm water with ginger in them/very clear liquid (even after letting it soak for 15 minutes). Personal preferences though so others may enjoy the food and drinks.

Popped in for a quick lunch white in Utrecht centrum. The kimchi salad was HUGE, very filling, and very tasty. They also had a nice range of coffees. I got a carrot cake to-go which was perfectly moist, but was lacking a bit in flavour.

Starting with such friendly staff and ending with a delicious apple tart. Highly recommend, small indoor but has some nice outdoor seating (benches for people watching). They are very attentive and the girl who took our order went through the effort to double-check the ingredients of the tart in their book for allergy issues. Big portions. The apple tart was very light, just right apple filling, not too sweet and crunchy base and top. The scones they have look promising too. We'll need to go back to try their coffee:)

KEEK on the Oudegracht is a cozy little spot to get a coffee and indulge in something sweet, such as scones with jam or a piece of cake. I had the carrot cake and their home made ginger lemonade, and I was happy with both. You can sit outside or inside or grab something to go.

I have always liked their focaccia and get them every time I go there. It's also nice that they sell stuff that isn't fresh like other stuff at a lower price. That said, the not-so fresh items are not bad or something you can't eat. It is a small and cosy place at a nice location and the staff is always friendly and sweet :)

Koffie leute has it all, coffee, food, work space, chill space, LPs, cassettes, tees —- it’s like the ideal place to hang and get all your assorted needs sorted! So hip, so fresh and everyone somehow feels like they’re responsible for upkeep of the place. I saw numerous people help each other out — it feels like a community rather than a coffee shop

Very cool and creative atmosphere. No service though, have to go and order yourself. Luckily they do bring the order to you. Croissant was hard and as tasty as layered baking paper. Yoghurt bowl is 1 cm yoghurt, 3 cm granola and still half empty bowl. Coffee was good, not great.

Coffee was really good. But first the filter was warm, not hot — it was quickly replaced by fresh & hot 💕 I liked peanut butter sandwich a lot, a “no avocado” sandwich was strange and kinda empty, too light, and the egg was cold, we’d like it to be warm.. Overall I loved the place and the guys are really nice! Can’t wait to come there again🙂 Also we enjoyed a few board games, I almost started learning how to play chess..

I liked all my food except the curry dish. Everywhere I travel, I end up eating Indian food for the spices, remind me of Mexico/ home. I had the curry dish and it was flat, very lack luster, tasted like tomato soup. Don’t get me wrong all the rest of the dishes were great and the pastries were to die for. The view of the canal is one of a kind and I enjoyed my experience at Tim… just avoid the curry dish if you like spices.

100% recommend this place. Cozy atmosphere where you can sit by the canal, tasty food and coffee. Loads of variety on the menu so you’ll definitely find something that you like. The Lebanese salad was delicious, fresh and filling. The Turkish eggs was a perfect delicate savoury breakfast option (I just wish the portion was a bit bigger or if they complemented the dish with something more).

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was really busy. I ordered a flat white which was great. Got the Bánh mì Beef which was also good, but really messy to eat. I loved the overall ambience. We got a table with a view overlooking the canal. Highly recommend.

The service here was wonderful—all staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with finding us seats on a crowded Saturday morning. The food was lovely and there was a diverse menu, so everyone in my party was able to find something that looked appetizing. Was excited about having breakfast here based on the great reviews. I was in there shortly after it opened and was the only customer at the time. Unfortunately, I found a long and very obvious strand of hair on the food as soon as it was brought out. Let them know and they apologised and said they'll get me a new one which they did. Halfway through, I found another piece of hair which made me question whether it was the original plate they just brought out again. Was horrified. I paid and left quietly. The rest of my day was kind of ruined as I thought about the bit of the pancakes I had eaten before finding the hair the second time. Wish I hadn't stayed to be served the same thing for the second time.

Discovered this place by accident, but it’s definitely a good surprise! The food taste really good! Coffee also! Would recommend the pan cake, yogurt, bagel, and sandwich, basically everything we tried I can recommend! Wonderful place for brunch! The place is not so busy and has full day brunch! Started well enough, had a pleasant IPA and first barman was nice and well informed. However, unfortunately whole experience was soured by the second barman being incredibly nasty to my infant son. Rarely come across such horrible people in the wild. My rage says that 0 stars would be fair. But perhaps if you also hate quiet, well-behaved children (but not enough to go somewhere that they are actually not allowed to be present) then maybe this is the place for you?

They have a language cafe (taalcafe) every Wednesday where you can chat with different people to practice the language you desire to learn (french, dutch, Spanish, Mandarin etc). It's a normal bar, with normal selection of alcohol. It was crowded during my time there.

Lovely spot, delicious pastries including many vegan options, and a very fine coffee. Also a great selection of beans for sale. I had a double espresso and a raspberry cake and it was marvelous. I suppose a slightly wider selection of beans available for sale would make it the perfect coffee shop, but I know I am just being picky. This is one of my favourite cafes in Utrecht and I've been here frequently since discovering it. The coffee is great, the baristas are always very friendly, the atmosphere and design are pleasant and welcoming and the unique vintage teaspoons are cool. I can also recommend their fresh cinnamon rolls and they even have quality espresso martinis for special occasions ;)

We had some nice coffee and brunch with a friend. The place is colourful and pleasantly decorated. The waiters are very kind and offer a glass of water as soon as you sit down. The room was a little small, and because of the doors being open, it was at times drafty. However, it is a nice little cafe!

The cheese scones are very tasty and flaky on the inside but have a nice crunch on the outside. Would come again and eat them. You could add some jam or a little butter and make them extra special. Nice spot to visit.

An incredibly cozy and pleasant bakery in the center of Utrecht. We stopped for breakfast, where we tried everything from scones to cinnamon rolls, banana bread, or carrot cake. Everything was wonderful. The banana and carrot delicacies were really moist, and the scone had a truly cheesy flavor. The service was also incredibly friendly and warm. And of course, I can't miss mentioning what is maybe the biggest highlight, which is the coffee, perfectly sour, yet very smooth and rich in flavor. For us, it was a perfect morning, and we're grateful for it!

KEEK is a must when in Utrecht! Try their two most popular baked goods - cinnamon roll and the KEEK scone. The scone is worthy of praise - moist, not too sweet and delightfully filling without being too dense. The cinnamon roll was similarly pleasant though the scone was more memorable for this reviewer. I’d return in a heartbeat to have both again and to try even more.

We had a great experience at Beers & Barrels in Utrecht, right next to the canals. The interior design really nice, creating a very enjoyable atmosphere. We tried the brisket burger and the brisket steak — both were delicious! The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. While the price/quality could be slightly improved, the overall experience was good. A great spot for a tasty meal in a beautiful setting!

The appetizer took a while too be brought (was Wednesday evening, so a little unexpected), but other dishes were at acceptable speed later on. Probably we just got a bit unlucky as we are with 6, and all dishes are brought all at once for each course. But the food was really really good. I had a vegetarian appetizer and vegetarian burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the two homemade lemonage and it was great too! My friend who had a regular meat burger said that it was easily the second, if not the best burger he's ever had. Another order ribs, was quite a big portion but still tastes amazing. Just can't fault anything in terms of food really! The beer at the tap on the table was okay, but quite on the expensive side. It's expected I suppose for the experience of pouring your own drinks. Really wish the appetizers were a bit faster, that would really make the whole experience perfect.

Visited Beers & Barrels in Utrecht and had a good experience overall. The service was generally good, and we appreciated having proper seating available. The atmosphere was lovely — cozy, vibrant, and perfect for an evening out. They offer a great variety of beers, which made it easy to find something for everyone’s taste. One small note: the girl behind the bar seemed a bit tired and wasn’t the most service-minded, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall positive experience. Would definitely visit again!

We got the ribeye steak which was only ok, rather under seasoned and very thin. We've definitely done better at home on the grill. The salad we ordered was delicious but very different ingredients to what was on the menu so double check if you have allergies. The view of the canal was incredible though, right next to the water and very cool interior, being built into a cellar like space under the main buildings/street. The service was incredibly slow, even though we were there around 5, well before the main dinner crowd. Not sure if it's just the normal European pacing or if we were supposed to go inside to pay or what? It was a long time between them clearing all of our dishes and drinks away and being able to flag someone down to get the bill. You're mostly paying for the atmosphere and the view at this restaurant, the food is ok, not terrible but not amazing. Service very slow.

Excellent meal in Utrecht; food was very good, service was friendly. Only complaint would be the terrace was not really a terrace - just tables set out on the cobblestones, so we asked to sit inside. But the environment indoors was nice. Will definitely visit again!

We popped into De Rechtbank for lunch on a super hot day and couldn't have been happier. The terrace was a great spot to cool down, the dishes were delicious, and the staff was absolutely amazing!

The food and service is great! For starters we had a salad and the tatami, both of which were delicious. For mains we had two types of meat (which was SO delicious) and the risotto (which was ok). And we finished with the Eton mess and the trio of chocolate for dessert. Both the desserts were SO GOOD! Will definitely go back.

Good food, with proper dressing and flavors selected with care. Outside area was nice and smartly arranged. Sadly, the service was laughable, performed by a handful of inattentive students who didn't bat an eye about missing our order or focusing on anything except their own banter. Sad but true.

Visited this gem for the second time. The food here is absolutely amazing. The presentation and the clash of different flavors are truly outstanding. Lightly spicy, sweet, sour, crunchy – everything is perfectly balanced. The food is served quite quickly and the service is also very good. I’ve sat both inside and outside, but I must say the atmosphere inside is much better. The vibe, the music, and the overall ambiance are excellent. I will definitely be coming back more often.

A Pleasant Surprise! We originally came just for drinks, and I have to say—the frozen Porn Star Martini was the best I’ve ever had! It was so good, we decided to stay for food, and I’m so glad we did. Everything was absolutely delicious—we even ended up repeating a few dishes! The entire experience was lovely. I only wish we had a place like this where I live. Compliments to the entire team! :)

Went there for a few drinks and snacks. Chickenwings took over half an hr and when we asked about it, it came out immediately. It's a bit of a cramped seat outside but it's cute by the water. Cocktails are done well with matching containers to the drinks.

We visited the Rum Club for a few afternoon cocktails and it did not disappoint. We arrived without a reservation and even though it wasn't very busy, one of the ladies arranged a seat for us at the bar. The cocktails are expertly crafted and are very delicious.

My son's regular spot in Utrecht, so it was time to experience this for myself. Wasn't disappointed, great tasting food and attentive service. Nice ambience, since this is situated in 2 old wharf or cellars. Limited space, however they have done a superb job of using every inch of these. I came here to eat lunch today and despite my gibberish English pronunciation, the service was great, the food delicious (a toasted sandwich with bell pepper, onions, ham and cheese plus a salad on the side). The setting was very nice, a little terrace on the street and the possibility to sit inside, next to the windows and watch the boats go by... I would recommend to anyone who wants a drink or a nice bite for lunch (didn't test the fancier dinner dishes but I'm sure it's also great).

Both bartenders are awesome - communicative, kind-hearted and accomodating. Atmosphere was perfect too. Good music, nice canal view, good beer on tap, not too expensive. Accessing the bathroom is a bit challenging because of the steep staircase, hardly accesible for disabled.

Good option for some local beers on tap. They have some windows with canal view. We just had some beers here, didn't taste any food.

Very cosy bar with decent choice of beers in a cool unique location ‘in’ the canal, in the centre of Utrecht. Sometimes bands play there, which I can definitely recommend. Young and friendly staff. Despite the hard work of the staff, it took quite a long time before you could order anything, perhaps it could be a bit better staffed on busy evenings.

Stopped here for a drink. They place has a nicely terrace just next to the canal so that you could enjoy your drink by the water. The menu is creatively published on vinyls which I found a pretty interesting idea. Drink menu is good, but I couldn’t find much interesting food. Overall I can recommend the place. What I didn’t like is people smoking all around, I felt like in other places it was not the case. But if you are a smoker you would enjoy it I guess?

This place is awesome! When we were visiting this bar, there was a theatrical show... they said it’s a punk rock theatrical but it wasn’t that loud. Food were 👍🏻 beer 🍺 yumm. Nothing to complain. The location is quite unique but probably it’s normal. We have to go down through stairs so it was in basement.

Went there daily while staying in Utrecht. In July, they're not super crowded and I always found a table, by the water. Excellent salad, excellent soup (cauliflower bisque.) Good service - I did not experience long waits as others have reported. The serving staff was friendly. Beer was great. Prices very reasonable.

Nice food and great place by the canal! We chose the two vegan meals, they were both tasty (especially the tempeh) and large meals. Perfect after a long day :)

The atmosphere was good, the band was amazing but the bartender woman was rude and the place was a little bit crowded..
