The Manitoba Museum is a large museum featuring exhibits on planetary and human history, including bones, dioramas, and a planetarium. The museum's galleries highlight the connection between people and the natural environment in Manitoba through artifacts, written and audio information, interactive displays, and dioramas. Visitors can explore Manitoba's distinct ecosystems such as Arctic/Sub-Arctic, Boreal Forest, Parklands, and Grasslands.
Loved the museum!! The science gallery was fun and did lots of activities. The museum was pretty big you can see so many history sculptures if you wanna post story's on insta the photos here came out boom! We spend around more than 4 hours here and didn't even feel that time went so fast. If u wanna spend time with your loved ones this is the best place really loved.

This is a wonderful place to learn about Canada history and nature. Although the museum is under construction, it’s still open. The museum is huge, took us almost 2 hours to complete the tour, there is a short animated show for your kids to learn about the ocean and solar system.
Nam T — Google review
Had the opportunity to explore Winnipeg and the Manitoba Museum came highly recommended so I checked it out. I do think I may have come on a bad day because there was a wedding of some sort and people everywhere, which made it a little difficult to navigate. There also seemed to be a bit of renovations happening so I got a little lost. But once I found my way to the exhibits, I had a lot of fun. There was a lot to look at and some really incredible displays. Despite it being a weekend, it was pretty quiet, which was probably a lucky break. It made the experience a lot more relaxing. I was a tad disappointed with the planetarium show. I’m not sure if they do a kids and adult version, but the show I saw was definitely catered to children and was actually more about the ocean than space. As an astronomy enthusiast I was hoping to see stars. Overall, I’m very glad I went, and can see why it was recommended by so many people. I would love to go back once the renovations are done and there isn’t such chaos with the very large wedding party.
Jenna J — Google review
It was under renovation when we got there. The planetarium show just started so we missed the one for the planets and stars. The overall experience was great. Clean interactive. Just not very appealing going through the front entrance. We got to see Nonsuch during this visit, the kids enjoyed it. We definitely need more time as we didn't get to roam the Winnipeg section. The scavenger hunt made it interesting for the kids. We just didn't know where to drop off the completed form since it was closing time and they closed the customer service area to prepare for a wedding event. Will visit again, hope to see the outcome of the renovation.

The Manitoba Museum is located at 190 Rupert Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0N2. It's the largest not-for-profit heritage and science centre in Manitoba. The museum features nine award-winning galleries, a planetarium, and a science gallery, showcasing both human and natural history. This is worth a visit. Lot's of history!!!
Coucai — Google review
This place is amazingly interactive for people of all ages. Never seen a museum put so much effort to tell the history like this. Then comes the science building filled with so many interesting inventions and concepts. A young person will be amazed and intrigued by them while an adult person will relive new dreams and possibilities in this life. Planetarium is a cool addition too. It tells how our solar system functions in an amazing environment. This is by far the best place to go in Winnipeg. Hope you guys enjoy it as well.
M P — Google review
Seeing the Nonsuch was the highlight! Even under renovation (think the fees are reduced as it was very inexpensive) this museum is a good stop. Great Indigenous art collection as well!
Dana O — Google review
Great place to see the history of Manitoba, Winnipeg and earth. Easy to follow the paths of galleries. With all the exhibits available you will at least need more than half a day to spend. The ship "Nonsuch" is the main attraction. And they built a museum after the ship was placed. Easy access by public transport. Open 7 days

The Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre is a beautiful hotel with an excellent spa. The hotel has stunning architecture and elegant interiors. It also offers free Wi-Fi and morning newspapers. The Chateau-style Fort Garry Hotel was originally built to house the staff of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. It's a great place for history buffs as both the naval museum and railway museum are only a few minutes away.
A beautiful historical location. The front desk personal are helpful and informative. The rooms all have their own character and are lovely. The dinning rooms atmosphere reflects historical aspects and the food is good. The service is amazing! The ballrooms are perfect for events and the staff is excellent. The spa is first class and worth the price for the services offered. You must try it. The hotel is in walking distance from the Forks.

My friend and I stayed in a suite for three nights.. today was the last.. I have never had better service in my life.. the servers and bartenders in the restaurants are the best loveliest most professional I have ever encountered .. the spa was so relaxing top notch and well run I can't believe it.. the hotel staff from the front desk to the cleaners to the random people in the office could not be lovelier.. a true destination hotel with the most brilliant view of Winnipeg.. the history and beauty of the hotel cannot be overstated! A true experience. The food rivals and likely exceeds the best I've ever had.. we will be making a yearly visit. 💕💕 the seafood platter.... ack and WOW!!

The staff and accommodations were just amazing. The Ten Spa was outstanding. I had the full Hamam and the experience was out of this world. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you have never had it done. The Italian restaurant had incredible food and service. It was a great stay. The hotel is in a great location near the Forks Market, Via train station, downtown area and the Human Rights Museum.

I have stayed here quite a few times over the years. I love a historic hotel. Plus, the bed linens are like falling onto a cloud. I stayed in bed an extra hour because it was so comfy. However, I am not a fan of the 4 pm check-in. The desk clerk suggested we might be able to chek in early, which is why I wa enjoying this delicious Empress gin and tonic. Unfortunately, we waited an hour and the could not get us into our room. Fair. It's a 4 pm checkin, but we were going to a 4pm matinee, and it would have been nice to check in before going to the theater. Other than that, terrific service in the bar and at breakfast. Parking is tight, but it's convenient if you can find a space. We will be back, but heed my advice and only book on their official site. I wasn't paying attention when I clicked and paid too much for the room. Caveat emptor, right?
Kat K — Google review
Nice hotel!! Very elegant looking. Nice rooms (each is a little different it seems), with very comfortable beds (memory foam mattresses!), but the bathrooms are quite old and the cable TV is underwhelming. (They could use some specialty channels.) I had requested a kettle when booking a few months in advance, yet did not receive one despite following up several times after check-in and was eventually told they had distributed them all and had none left at that point. That part was disappointing (given how much in advance I had made the request). Overall, good experience though.
Emilia N — Google review
I went to bed late 2am and my bed was wet. They changed rooms for us. And changed my pillows from feathers. The pictures are creepy in the rooms but I found out it was a haunted hotel so people like that. We went to the pool next door a lot. It was lovely. Front desk Night staff was amazing and friendly compared to day staff.
J W — Google review
Fabulous find! We were treated like kings and queens even though we were travel weary drivers. The hotel is historical and gorgeous. The lobby is amazing. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating from the front door to the front desk to the Oval Room. The rooms are comfortable and the location is perfect! Great stay, splurge if you can!
William C — Google review
We have done a few events at the Fort Garry Hotel over the last few years. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff just as friendly and accommodating. We do find that because the hotel was built so long ago it is a bit more difficult for us to unload our equipment, maneuver everything to the location we are setting up and setting up but each time it seems to get easier. The banquet staff are very helpful and understand the challenges, giving options. The venue is so romantic with a cozy feel!

The Fairmont Winnipeg is a sleek and polished property located in downtown Winnipeg. It offers refined dining, a bar, and an indoor saltwater pool with city views. The hotel is pet-friendly and collaborates with the Winnipeg Humane Society to host events like the Bow Wow Ball and sponsor walks and runs in Assiniboine Park. The century-old Fort Garry Hotel, designated as a National Historic Site of Canada, boasts old-world appeal, high-end amenities, and hospitality.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Fairmont Winnipeg. From arrival to checkout, it was an elevated experience. We booked one night on the Gold Floor for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival to our room, we found not one, but three hand-written cards from the hotel staff congratulating us on our anniversary and thanking us for celebrating it with them. I must have mentioned it when I called to book the room, but honestly I couldn't remember if I had. There was also a piece of cheesecake with Happy Anniversary hand-written in chocolate on the plate. I had never experienced that before! The concierge was great to chat with, the dinner and breakfast served on the Gold Floor was excellent, and every staff member we met were very friendly. Two minor issues which could easily be fixed: the hotel pool was quite cold and the Sauna wouldn't heat up past 40*C. Perhaps because it is summer, the temperatures are intentionally kept cooler? It did nothing to take away from our wonderful experience. Overall, we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others.
Andrew L — Google review
First off, the staff are incredible and are an absolute credit to the Fairmont Winnipeg. Ralph on the front desk was great, as were all of the staff in the lounge on the evening of September 19th, the accommodation staff, and doormen throughout my stay. The room service food was great and delivered quickly. The location is perfect, connected all across downtown Winnipeg via the Skywalk. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, but they are in desperate need of a refresh. The TV in the room was extremely dated and the menu/guide software was slow and imprecise. The desk is not great for getting any actual work done (an oval is not a good shape for a work desk). The internet was super fast when it worked but went down a couple of times before completely giving up on my last night. The blinds and blackout curtains did a great job but, as with the carpets, are starting to look well worn. The bathroom seems partially updated with the sink area looking new, but the mirrors and shower/bath are certainly due an upgrade. The gym and pool area require a major face lift. These are good facilities but are well worn and take away from what are valuable amenities. The humidity in the pool area especially made everything wet and uncomfortable to sit and enjoy. The dry sauna, however, works very well. Overall, my stay was enjoyable, but definitely falls short of other Fairmont properties. While the price is admittedly very good, the gulf in quality is especially highlighted by the fantastic images of said elite-level properties displayed across the public areas of the hotel. I couldn't help feel that I would rather be staying at one of those locations instead.
William C — Google review
I checked in after a long day of travel and was immediately let down by the condition of the room. There was hair left in the shower and on the shaving mirror. Both obvious signs the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned. The room also had a noticeable musty smell, which made it feel damp and unkept. For a Fairmont property, this was surprising and well below the level of cleanliness and care I’ve come to expect. When I called the front desk, I explained the issue and asked if a Fairmont Gold upgrade could be provided as a goodwill gesture. It was a Sunday night and the hotel was clearly not busy, so the request seemed reasonable. Instead, I was offered to move to another standard room and given a $50 restaurant credit. Unfortunately, I was not dining on-site, so the credit went unused. While the staff were polite, the resolution felt transactional rather than focused on guest recovery. A Fairmont stay is supposed to feel effortless and refined. This experience felt more like any mid-range hotel. Cleanliness, air quality, and responsiveness to guest concerns are basic expectations, not luxuries. If it weren’t for the convenient downtown location, I’d likely consider a different property next time. I hope management reviews this feedback seriously, because the Fairmont brand is capable of much better.
James R — Google review
Room was clean and beds were comfortable, but carpets were stained, ceilings and walls had visible cracks and drains in tubs were slow. We were told that the hotel will be undergoing an extensive renovation next year. I'd suggest also putting in hot tub to compliment pool and sauna. My wife has dietary restrictions and lounge and breakfast restaurant went out of their way to ensure her meals respected her diet and were delicious. Once rooms get updated, experience will be 10/10.
Thom G — Google review
My partner and I recently stayed at the Fairmont Winnipeg and, unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. We received no amenities in our room — the bar fridge was empty and not functioning, there was no complimentary water provided, and only one robe available. For a Fairmont property, we were anticipating a higher level of comfort and attention to detail. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed as it did not reflect the quality or experience typically associated with the Fairmont brand.
Melanie G — Google review
This property doesn't meet the Fairmont level of quality and service experience. Booked a king room for our family of three, advertised on the Fairmont website as 'sleeps 3'. Called the property to ensure the rollaway be for our son would be in the room upon arrival and was told that a King Room can't accommodate a rollaway bed because it's a "fire hazard." Further, there is no pullout couch in the room. When asked where the third person (our nine year old son) can sleep, where we were told that he could share our king bed. No solution was provided by the hotel... no alternative room made available, no referral to another property with suitable accommodations, refund request so we could book elsewhere was denied, and no ownership of advertising the room as 'sleeps 3'. If you are coming to Winnipeg as a family, best to consider a more suitable hotel. Staff training in problem solving would also be a benefit to guest experience.
M K — Google review
Fancy but kind of outdated hotel. Very good location, needs a little update but it’s definitely a comfy stay. The AC was making some weird noise I couldn’t figure out what it was but I ultimately decided to leave it off instead of fighting it. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t judge that. Made use of pretty much all conference rooms and they’re all good. The pool at the top is very nice and so is the dry sauna. Gym is small so it might get busy/unconvenient but it’s a nice gym with a great view.
Jacopo B — Google review
This hotel desperately needs a renovation. The bed was comfortable but that’s pretty much it. Rooms are dated and carpets look dirty. Cracks in the walls. Room had such a weird musty smell that I had to request a relocation. Would not recommend staying here until they have renovated.

Specialty Museums
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a modern museum that focuses on both Canadian and international human rights issues. Located in Winnipeg, it is one of the city's many attractions, offering visitors a unique experience with its striking architecture. The building features a glass cloud facade, a Tower of Hope spire, and massive limestone roots that symbolize the journey towards universal human rights.
It's important that Canada has a Museum for Human Rights given its international reputation and values of respecting human rights and advocating for peace and non-violence. The museum itself is very modern, well-sectioned, adequately staffed and has all the amenities you'd expect of such a world class facility. The exhibits are also very well organized, and impactful in making you stop, observe, think, feel, absorb and reflect on what you've just experienced. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the hands down the museum where I stayed the most and stopped the longest in front of a display. Visiting this museum should be on everyone list.
Sam J — Google review
Human Rights museums are always a heavy experience, but also incredibly important to visit. This museum did a good job covering a variety of historical events and cultures, but I also thought there was maybe a bit too much open space on each floor. Maybe it would have felt less empty if it had been a busier day, but I left feeling like they could have added a lot more considering the available space. Still well worth the visit, but probably a museum I wouldn’t go back to.
Jenna J — Google review
This museum should always be a must visit if you are in Canada. It contains so much relevant information about the current situation and recent history of humanity, that it takes a good 3-4 hours to explore properly. The building itself is worth the ticket. The views of the city from the Tower of Hope and the walk down along the different levels are fantastic. I just wished they included the option of paying for parking with the visit.
Pablo ( — Google review
A very informative and interesting museum. The whole layout was exceptionally good. The timeline in the first exhibit is spectacular. So much thought has been put into the architecture, film footage, information and moving from one section to another. There are gradual slopes up to each level lit by alabaster walls which allows one to reflect as they get to the next level. Highly recommend.
Victoria — Google review
One of the best museums I’ve ever been to… Incredibly engaging, profound and architecturally amazing. Bravo to the curator and to Canada for knocking out of the park. We were only there 2 1/2 hours, but we easily could’ve spent all day.
David L — Google review
Worth a visit. Make sure to plan to spend a good enough time here, there's much to see and learn. Every floor is sure to offer a learning experience. If you get hungry, there is a coffee shop at the top floor or the cafe down in the first level that was really good!

Holiday Inn Winnipeg - Airport West, an IHG Hotel, offers modern accommodations with a restaurant, indoor pool, and fitness center. Its central location is convenient for business travelers with easy access to Murray Industrial Park and the airport. Families will enjoy the family-friendly pool featuring a twisting tunnel water slide and colorful water features. Guests have praised the hotel's excellent customer service, particularly highlighting the friendly and knowledgeable staff members like Ragdeep Singh.
Had a great stay and this will be our go-to hotel for ~annual family trips to Winnipeg for sporting tournaments going forward and we’ll recommend it to other families, even though it’s about a 20min drive from the Canada Games Venue. The rooms are straightforward - modern and in good condition. Could use some USB outlets, but otherwise run of the mill/typical 2x Queen. BUT, the staff were FANTASTIC! So friendly, eager to help, checking to make sure everything was in tip-top shape. The maintenance and custodial crew takes evident great care and pride in maintaining the facilities. There’s ample staff for prompt service with a smile. The pool and play structure/recreation area made our stay, including the family seating areas for meals and visiting. One of the best hotel fitness facilities I’ve seen in a while, neat layout and 24hr access eagerly granted upon request (it’s within the pool/recreation area on 2nd floor). Excellent on-site laundry (bring your own detergent to save the $2.25/load from the vending machines tho! But since we forgot, we were glad if the option!! 🤑) Special shout-outs to the especially friendly Yvonne and the night custodian in fitness area (I saw you most nights when you let me into the gym after the kids were tucked in, but I didn’t catch your name! 🫣). Both of you particularly seemed to care above and beyond about guest comfort - ready with advice on how to make the best use of the space, actively asking if anything that could be better (and in Yvonne’s case, ensuring a maintenance person came up immediately to address service issues with 2/3 of the treadmills 👌). Employees like you make all the difference! 🤩 We’ll be back!!

I just checked in and Mim at the front desk was phenomenal! I was in and out of the counter in no time at all as everything was ready for me when before I got in. She acknowledged my membership and was given an upgrade to a junior suite. As part of my status, she gave me an option for extra points or breakfast and I chose the later as always. I’ve stayed in this hotel a couple of times before and it is showing its age but the rooms are always clean. The real treasure of this property is always the incredible service and the staff members.

We recently hosted our corporate holiday party at the Holiday Inn Airport West, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! The team made the entire planning process seamless, accommodating all of our needs and ensuring every detail was perfect. The highlight of the evening was the gourmet buffet dinner—an absolute feast! Our employees couldn’t stop raving about the quality and selection, from the carved prime rib with Yorkshire pudding to the decadent desserts. The event space was elegant and festive, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional, making sure everything ran smoothly. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellent service truly elevated the evening. It's not easy to impress our field staff, but the Holiday Inn Airport West exceeded all expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our holiday party, and we’ll definitely be returning for future events.

: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not Return I had one of the worst check-in experiences I’ve ever encountered at the Holiday Inn Airport located at 2520 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. From the moment I arrived, the staff were unprofessional, rude, and clearly lacked the training necessary to handle even basic guest requests. Despite asking multiple times, I couldn’t get a simple cancellation confirmation. The front desk staff seemed confused and unprepared, which made the entire process frustrating and time-consuming. It was evident that customer service is not a priority at this location. Given the poor service and lack of competence from the staff, I will not be returning to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. Holiday Inn should seriously reevaluate the training and management at this property.

Holiday Inn Airport West is a great hotel to stay @ in Winnipeg. It’s my go to hotel. I highly recommend it. Angela the guest manager is awesome, she is kind and quick to help make your stay comfortable. The service desk staff, waiting staff, maintenance team and housekeepers are all kind, hard working people. Holiday Inn Airport West Team go above and beyond for their guests, thank you for all being caring and accommodating! Great value hotel. Clean, modern comfy rooms, good smelling hallways and elevators. Great food in the lounge and breakfast restaurant, lobby, gym and playland/pool area for the kids is always clean and well maintained. Great for families, couples and business or vacation travels. Thank you Angela, and Holiday Inn AirPort West Team for making my 2025 stay awesome.

Overall, the stay was good. No complaints about the service. The play place was super fun for my small kids. The pool was great, not cold like other hotel pools I’ve been to. It even had a warmer kiddie pool that was great for my 8 month old. One of my only complaints was the room is a little run down. The bathroom was very nice, but as you can see from the photos, there were scratches on the wall and closet door. The blankets on the bed were thin and had holes in them. We did not have a window to the outside. Our window faced the pool and play place. This was bad because we couldn’t get any natural light without people seeing inside our room… it wasn’t very private. The room looked bigger in the photos they have on their website, but the beds were comfortable. My other complaint is no free breakfast. I probably could’ve looked past the other shortcomings of this place if they offered a free continental breakfast. However, overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Assiniboine Park is one of Winnipeg's largest parks, offering a variety of attractions such as a zoo, conservatory, outdoor theatre, and play equipment. It's an ideal spot for picnics with its wide-open fields and wooded areas. The park hosts free concerts in the summer at the Lyric Theatre and features beautiful gardens. Visitors can also enjoy dining at the Qualico Family Centre's Park Cafe or explore art galleries and event spaces at the Tudor-style Pavilion.
Assiniboine Park is one of my absolute favorite spots for photos! The Pavilion is such an iconic backdrop, and the grounds are always beautifully maintained, no matter the season. Whether it’s golden hour by the gardens or a dreamy winter scene, there’s no shortage of stunning locations. It’s the perfect blend of nature and architecture, making it a go-to for portraits, engagements, and weddings. Always a must-visit!

Beautiful park with lots of attractions. Free and paid. Several sights for parking. Many different parks And many trails. Beautiful river lookouts and bridge. Pavilion is one place you can visit free of charge that includes information and free Winnie the Pooh museum and Art gallery Kids park nearby. I like the side gate. That's unique. The English theme park is beautiful with all the art works. Zoo and leaf are paid attractions.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Assiniboine Park on multiple occasions, and it’s become one of my favourite spots. The park’s size and variety of attractions mean there’s always something new to discover each time I visit. One of my first stops was The Leaf. Although it does have an entrance fee, the experience is well worth it. The vibrant plant displays and thoughtfully designed gardens create a stunning environment that’s both relaxing and invigorating. I spent hours enjoying the lush greenery and colourful blooms. On other visits, I explored areas of the park that are free to access. The English Garden and leo mol museum was particularly delightful, with its beautifully arranged flowers and serene atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for a leisurely walk or simply to sit and enjoy nature. The open grounds and picnic areas are great for a casual day out, offering plenty of space to relax, have a picnic, or play. While the Park Café and restaurant areas do have their own costs, they’re convenient for grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying the park’s lovely scenery. The Pavilion is where I enjoyed wandering around. Its charming architecture and peaceful surroundings added to the park’s overall appeal. Whether you’re exploring the paid attractions or enjoying the free areas, there’s something special to discover every time.

A local resident couldn't wait to take us here and I understand why she loves this park so much. The park is well maintained and the variety of plants is well planned for the most striking arrangements. All those who are considering a visit to Winnipeg should plan on visiting Assiniboine Park.

Established in 1904, Assiniboine Park Zoo is a prominent attraction located in Winnipeg, near the southern border of Manitoba. The zoo spans 80 acres and houses over 200 animal species from around the world. One of its main highlights is the award-winning Journey to Churchill exhibit, which opened in 2014.
I recently visited Assiniboine Park Zoo, and overall it was a good experience, especially if you go with friends or family. The zoo itself is nice, but I’d say it’s more enjoyable when you have good company to share it with. The highlight for me was seeing a polar bear relaxing and it was amazing to be able to watch such a majestic animal up close. The indoor aquarium was also fun. It mainly had seals swimming around, which was still entertaining, though I had hoped to see more polar bears there. We also got to see a horse up close, a beautiful tiger, kangaroos, and quite a few peacocks roaming around, which added some charm. Some animals, like the pandas and foxes, weren’t visible that day, which was a little disappointing, but I know that can happen with any zoo visit. Overall, it’s a nice place to spend a few hours and enjoy some unique animal encounters. Just go in with the mindset that you might not see every animal, and you’ll still have a pleasant time.

I had a wonderful experience visiting the Assiniboine Park Zoo! The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of green spaces and walking paths that make the visit enjoyable and relaxing. The animal habitats are spacious and thoughtfully designed, which really shows the zoo's commitment to animal care and conservation. The highlight for me was seeing the polar bears swimming and playing, it was truly unforgettable! I also loved the diversity of animals, from majestic tigers to playful monkeys, each encounter was special. The staff were warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The educational exhibits are engaging and perfect for visitors of all ages, making it a fantastic place for families, couples or anyone who enjoys connecting with nature and wildlife. Overall, the zoo offers a unique and memorable experience in Winnipeg and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

It is certainly a priviledge to observe the polar bears diving from the underwater tunnel. Just for this unique experience is worth paying the ticket. It is an easy to move around zoo with a few cafes. We stopped for lunch at the restaurant in the Visit to Churchill area, from which the polar bears can be seeing roaming their enclosure. Lots of information displays and friendly volunteers along the different routes. The shop is also very good with fair prices. For some reason buying the tickets online is cheaper than at the entrance kiosks, so I recommend to do so.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is a wondrous location for both tourists and locals alike; there are so many beautiful creatures for every visitor to observe. I’d recommend visiting in the summer as it can get cold up in Manitoba. The zoo has great service and is easy to access, and there are wheelchairs available for visitors. There are many exhibits, and while I wasn’t able to see them all, one of my favorites was the seal exhibit. There was a concerned gopher that I met while walking there, which contributed to the overall experience. There is a bird exhibit with many pulchritudinous species, and a goat area where the employee who works there is very kind and is happy to share information about the goats. While I wasn’t able to see the journey to Churchill exhibit, I heard from other visitors that it was a magical experience. There is also a cafe with options for dietary restrictions and drinks. Assiniboine was a wonderful time.

the zoo is a super awesome place to spend your time in the summer, they have lots of exhibits with cool animals and they do lots of different events with the animals as well. They have cool indoor exhibits as well such as the tropical one which has huge tropical trees and animals such as snakes and cool birds. They also have another indoor exhibit with smaller animals such as turtles and sloths (which is a newer animal added to the zoo). There is lots of food options available like snack shacks, food trucks, and an actual restaurant located in the zoo park. They also have a great gift shop that sells lots of winnipeg themed items which is very nice for travellers. I would recommend buying tickets online in advance because you save 10% on your tickets! overall the zoo is a ton of fun and is a great way to spend any day!
Kailey F — Google review
This is a nice zoo. It has a fantastic exhibit on animals from Northern Manitoba, and the polar bear exhibit in specific is a highlight with the underwater tunnels allowing visitors to see the bears swimming around them. Toucan Ridge has some animas from warmer climates, and there is a large grasslands section as well. The zoo does not have animals such as elephants, giraffes, or lions, but this is understandable given the smaller size of the zoo and the harsh climate. If you visit on a weekday in fall, winter, or spring, you will almost have the zoo to yourself. It does get very busy in the summer, especially on weekends and holidays.
Brian H — Google review
Such a good zoo and attraction in the city I love seeing the bears and the animals, I didn’t have the chance to see them swimming but the experience was great. I’d recommend to Buy the tickets online as they are like $2 cheaper but if you rather to get them in person there is a kiosk and screens. I visited on Thanksgiving Day and there was no crowds so it was nice to walk around the zoo.
Juan G — Google review
Fantastic place, the polar bear enclosure is very roomy and has multiple areas and biomes for the bears too so whatever they like in. I hope more exhibits follow suit but most are at LEAST "pretty good". Good place, helps with research, lots to see. Highly recommended.

The Royal Canadian Mint, located in Winnipeg near the southern border of the province, is one of two national mints in Canada. Visitors can take tours and explore exhibits to learn about the coin manufacturing process. Winnipeg itself offers a variety of attractions including the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The city also hosts annual festivals such as Festival du Voyageur in February and the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba in summer.
We toured the mint for my Birthday. I’m so glad I finally got to see inside. Everyone needs to go atleast once in their life. Tour tickets are affordable, our guide was funny and very informative. They have activities for kids on the main floor so plan for spending extra time just browsing the gift shop and exploring.

I'm not sure what was the holdup situation for me, I never visited this place before living all these years in Winnipeg. Went for the first time on my b'day to buy some commemorative coins for myself and maybe a tour even if possible. Had to be the best thing I did for myself all day. This place is so peaceful yet cool to explore if you share the curiosity. Employees here are jolly and helpful. Especially Alex and Cade made the experience even more charming. Will definitely visit soon, even to thank the employee behind desk whom I was unable to catch a name of but guided me towards the coin I came there for.

I think everyone should visit the Royal Canadian Mint to explore the rich history of coin-making in Canada. The guided tour is well-organized, and the guide explained everything clearly and with enthusiasm. The entry fee is just $12 CAD per person, and it’s definitely worth it!. There’s also a gift store inside with unique coins and collectibles. If you’re planning to visit, weekdays are much more peaceful and perfect for a relaxed tour.

A great visit if you want to know about the production of coins they mint coins for many nations. Resto Gare And Train Bar Bistro is a charming family-owned bistro located in the historic Saint Boniface Train Station, dating back to 1913. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its old-school French ambiance, including an adjacent train dining cart and a courtyard-style patio featuring live music. The menu features classic French dishes such as escargot, foie gras, crepes, poulet cordon bleu, and cotes dagneau en persillade.
We celebrated an anniversary here and it did not disappoint! The ambience and decor was full of character. The service was attentive, and our server showed an enthusiasm for and knowledge of the menu that helped us narrow down our choices from so many yummy options. The food was outstanding. Full of unique, layered flavours. We ordered Foies Gras as an appetizer, Duck Confit and a seafood linguinni for mains, and the lemon tart for dessert. Drinks were great. Definitely a very special restaurant that is hard to compare to most other restaurants in the city. Wednesday nights they have live jazz music. It would be a great place for even a couple of drinks and an appetizer, let alone full course meal :) We will be back!

My wife and I came up to visit Winnipeg from the US state of Iowa about a month ago to support our kind Canadian neighbours. Everything about this restaurant was lovely. The service was friendly and thoughtful and the atmosphere was unique, romantic, and quirky. The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. We started with complimentary bread with oil and vinegar. Next, we had the escargot with buttery, toasted bread. After that we ordered the TRÉSOR DE LA MER dinner for two, which included a soup or salad (we got corn chowder) followed by a delicious seafood pasta with lemon, crab, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and fried fish mini fillets. I would strongly recommend making a reservation at this amazing place for a special night out!

We went to La Gare restaurant for a dinner to celebrate our anniversary, and we both were greatly impressed by authentic atmosphere, interior of renovated train car, great service and delicious French cuisine. It's not cheap, for a dinner for two we paid around 160 + tips, but it was well worth it, and we enjoyed every meal we had. Waiting time was moderate, around 20-25 minutes, music was nice and not too loud. Parking is a little tight, it takes some skill to get parked there or leave when parking lot is full, but the restaurant itself is just great)

We recently visited Resto Gare Bistro & Bar for our anniversary, and it was such a wonderful experience!. We ordered the mushroom appetizer, onion soup, soup of the day, pate marine, and chicken with mashed potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, including their complimentary bread with olive oil dip. The portions were generous, and I was pleasantly full by the end🙂. I loved their warm & cozy atmosphere. Not only that, their service was welcoming and attentive too. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion or a cozy dinner out❤️

I had a wonderful dinner at Resto Gare. The French onion soup was simply outstanding, and the lamb dish was cooked to perfection — absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was elegant, the service excellent, and I look forward to returning on a Saturday evening to enjoy their events.
Megan D — Google review
We came here for our anniversary and the atmosphere was very warm and the live piano music was very nice, but there were a couple issues. We were disturbed a couple times, once by a staff member eating at the table across from us with her hood up, eating with her mouth open and smacking her lips so loud it was interrupting our conversation. The second time was when staff were fighting and yelling at each other in the middle of the dining room behind us. Not very professional. We ordered the Brie Fondue appetizer and it was really good. For entrees I had the Bourguignon while my partner ordered the Saumon de Maison. The Bourguignon was cooked perfectly and fell apart with a fork, however the sauce was watery and really didn’t have a lot of flavour. Her salmon was quite delicious though. The duck fat roasted baby potatoes that came on the side had no seasoning and tasted like a plain boiled potato Overall a nice evening but we were a bit disappointed with our meal, especially when paying such high prices
Quinton A — Google review
Surprisingly bad, to be honest. We had a reservation for 6:30 and didnt get our entrees until 8:30. When we got there, there seemed to be a large gathering that took up most of the main dining room. We ordered our drinks which took quite a while to get there. Then we ordered our appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came pretty quickly. We ordered the baked brie and the French onion soup. The soup was the highlight of the meal and the baked brie was okay. After we ate our appetizers, it took an hour and a half to get our food. We had bought a bottle of wine for the table and had finished it before the food even got there. Once the food did arrive, it came out sporadically and not all of us got our food at the same time. I got the beef bourguignon and it was terrible. The broth was very watery and the beef was so tough that I didnt even finish it. It was dry and overcooked. Two of my family members had the chateaubriand which they found was okay, but we found the Gates did it better. My husband did like the lamb however. Our waiter was very apologetic about the wait. However, I think the restaurant should have been more diligent when booking such a large group, as it impacts their other guests. Our bill was around $500 and we definitely didnt find it was worth the price. We would not go here again. If you're looking for a nice French restaurant, you're better going to the Peasant Cookery. The food, service and atmosphere was just all in all better.
Brittany M — Google review
We ate in the train car. Lovely patio for the summer and another dining room. Dinner was tasty, definitely French influence (I had the beef Bourgogne, shared some escargot and a creme brule for dessert). Staff were kind, friendly and very helpful. It's out of the way but worth finding. I'd definitely go again.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a significant museum housing an extensive collection of European paintings, contemporary artwork, and Inuit sculptures. The space showcases modern-day and historic carvings in a captivating circular, multi-layered glass display. Visitors can freely explore the installation in the WAG's lobby and engage with an interactive display providing detailed information about the art pieces.
Had an amazing experience here. The diversity between the different exhibits and the friendliness of the staff will have us back next time we’re in town. There’s a lot of amazing things to see and buy in the gift shop as well as a fantastic collection of prints and originals available for purchase. The carvings in the main foyer could keep you occupied for hours alone

We attended the Candlelight concert in Winnipeg twice, and both experiences were absolutely wonderful. The music was performed with so much passion and elegance that it created a truly magical and romantic atmosphere. The candlelit setting made everything feel warm and unforgettable. It's definitely an event we would love to experience again.

The Winnipeg Art gallery is well worth the hour or two visit needed to check out its collection. The indigenous collection is just fantastic and I love the works that they presented. The permanent collection is small but very very interesting. Parking is limited but you can find some spots on the street. Dropping by on a Thursday afternoon felt like a private visit. I don't think you'll find a better variety and number of soapstone carvings anywhere else in the world.

I was there for an unveiling of a Red Dress tribute to the MMIWG2S movement. The location of rhe event and the space were more than sufficient for what it was needed for. Washroom was clean and easily accessible. The only reason I gave it this low of a rating is because they had a wedding event going on as well, and we were asked to leave by the side or back entrance. 😳 Seriously!?! So when you walk in the front entrance, you end up walking through the back of the seating area designated for the wedding guests and party. I felt like I was crashing a wedding. Not how I would want my wedding day to be remembered by. As a bride, I would have been upset and embarrassed to have to share my wedding space with another event being held in the same building like that. Surely there has to be a better way so that both events are able to be kept separate from each other, as to avoid disruption of a speech or special dance, which both events had. The sound could be heard on both sides. Unacceptable.

And also have a nice little Cafe. Staff is super friendly and kids does enjoy their painting lessons as well.

Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum, also known as the St. Boniface Museum, is located in the oldest building in Winnipeg, which was once a convent for the Grey Nuns. The museum showcases an extensive collection of artifacts that offer insights into the lives and culture of early Francophone and Métis communities in Manitoba. Visitors can explore exhibits dedicated to Louis Riel, a prominent Métis leader considered the father of Manitoba.
WOW! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and lovely to visit with! The Museum did an amazing job showing the work of the Grey Nuns and the biography of Louis Riel. Definitely take time to watch the videos. Great gift shop too!.

Nice museum on French-Canadian history and the oldest wooden building in Western Canada, as far as I know. 1844 or so, I believe. Many artifacts from different periods including a lot on Louis Riel who is buried nearby at the Cathedral, along with many of his family members. Staff is always helpful and there's a small store with books, souvenirs, etc.

I'm a Métis visitor from Calgary and this is my first time in Winnipeg. We came for a conference, not for sight seeing, but this museum was on my list of must see things. We only had time to come today, which was our last day in Winnipeg, but by the time we arrived the exhibit was closed. We were so lucky to have found Chloe, as she agreed to let us in to see the artifacts and then browse her gift shop, even though she had other places to be. She went above and beyond to make sure we were able to see the important pieces of our culture, and it meant a lot to us that she was willing to dedicate her own time. She did not even try to rush us, but gave us ample time with the Louis Riel collection and the gift shop. While the collection may be smaller than the original museum, we must preserve our artifacts as much as we can, and sometimes that means they will not be available for public viewing. It just means that we will have to book another trip to Winnipeg, particularly to Saint Boniface, to do further sight seeing of Métis culture. I cannot thank Chloe and the Saint Boniface Museum team enough for what they did for us today. Ps. The shop cat was a bonus, I am missing my cat at home and Dory (spelling?) provided me with a great joy that I've been missing for a few days.

Wow. I went here with no expectations at all and it ended up being a highlight of my trip to Winnipeg! Madelaine was our tour guide and we learned so much from her dynamic and casual tour! Highly recommend!
Antera N — Google review
I went to the St Boniface museum on a Thursday when the entrance and tours were free. When I got there and asked about the free tour, I was told that there wasn’t going to be one because there wasn’t enough people. Literally only me. It made sense at the time because, of course, I didn’t want to put them to any trouble. So I wandered around with one of the fellows, just pointing out the different rooms and what were in there but no detailed information. I went away underwhelmed and later decided that I would contact the museum and ask why they wouldn’t give a tour even if it was just for one person because one person or 10 people what’s the difference? I received an immediate response, and was told that I should have been given a tour and that,” anytime I would like”, I would get free entry and a tour. Thank you Loik ! Well, I’ve had a tour of both the graveyard and the museum and I can tell you it was incredibly informative and very satisfying. The information imparted I had no clue about. Yes, there’s a lot about Louis Riel, because he is buried there, but there’s also a lot about the history of St Boniface and Winnipeg in general. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone who might go, but a couple nuggets of information that I learned kind of blew me away. First of all, I found out that a cross is only a crucifix if it has Jesus on it. Otherwise, it’s just a cross. And on the cemetery grounds a life sized crucifix just outside of the old cathedral faces the cathedral, when normally, it should be facing out from the graveyard. Apparently, this is to protect the cathedral, which has burned down three or four times now. It was totally fascinating to hear about the original inhabitants of this area and the Europeans effect on them and how the newly formed Manitoba government try to negotiate with the Canadian government to become Manitoba. And lots and lots and lots of details in between. If you are at all into museums, and how the local history formed what is now the modern era, this is a must visit museum and the tour makes all the difference! I highly recommend attending the St Boniface museum.

Great little place. The Louis Riel room is excellent. Not an overly big place but just right for a two hour outing.

Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, also known as Oseredok, is a unique museum and library located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Established in 1944 by the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, it is dedicated to showcasing the art, history, and culture of Ukrainian Canadians. The centre features a diverse range of collections including museum artifacts, fine arts, archives, and a library.
I had a lovely afternoon checking out the museum. I originally ordered a cookbook I've been wanting to get my hands on, but they were so kind and informative that I stayed a bit longer for a nice visit. Ring the doorbell to get in, I thought it was closed, but I didn't see a sign to ring the bell to enter. Lol. I highly recommend checking out the exhibits on 2nd and 5th floor, they have elevator 😉

The museum was very impressive. During our visit, we explored exhibits on the 2nd and 5th floors. The staff was accommodating and friendly, which enhanced our experience.

A beautiful place that keeps Ukrainian culture alive in the heart of Winnipeg. Friendly staff, amazing exhibitions, and a cozy gift shop full of treasures. A must-visit for anyone interested in heritage, art, or just a warm welcome.

I love this place and its friendly staff. They have a unique library with rare finds, language learning courses, a gift shop with tons of great Ukrainian things (books, clothing, jewelry, etc), and many more. The curated exhibitions here are outstanding.

Very impressive museum. Exhibits frequently change over time. Also has a nice gift shop.

Our experience was amazing. I took a pysanka class with my 6 year old son. It was he's first time and he really enjoyed it. We even picked up extra supplies to add to my collection at the gift shop and a ukrainian flag for our car.

I took a detour while driving across the country to check out Oseredok, but unfortunately it was closed during work hours without any notice, as well as no one answered the phone. The unresponsiveness is quite frustrating.
Dmytro S — Google review
Amazing experience, there was a multimedia blended projector presentation that I'll never forget. Ukrainian history at its finest, on a selfish note: I'd like to see less Canadians trying to impose their political/civil positions within a museum that's intended to preserve the beauty and history of Ukrainians. Regardless, an amazing experience that all should partake in.

We were here as a huge group over 50 people for an educational experience. We were served wonderful buffet food three times. The service was exceptional.I would like to mention. Errol was a wonderful customer service representative with us! The front desk staff were extremely friendly and great to deal with easy to check in! The cleaning staff went over and above For us and our rooms were lovely! We had to change our venue at the last minute and this hotel was very accommodating within walking distance of the forks is wonderful and close to many great restaurants and great architecture!

I had to chance to access the fitness facility of this venue as compliments from Holiday Inn that was under renovation. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful. The fitness facility is good enough. Some older machines and I would have preferred a more robust cable machine to complete a good workout, but this was adequate enough for a few days stays in the city.

Terrible experience — would never stay here again! I usually don’t write reviews, but this place deserves one. The hotel is absolutely disgusting. The room was dirty, there were cockroaches crawling on the floor, and the bed sheets looked and smelled like they hadn’t been changed in weeks. The air was stuffy, and the bathroom was full of mold. The staff were rude and unprofessional — no smiles, no respect, no help at all. When I tried to explain a problem, they just rolled their eyes and walked away. It felt like they didn’t care about guests at all. Honestly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even for one night. Save your money, your nerves, and go somewhere — anywhere — else.

very clean up to date hotel. staff is great. my housekeeper rajwinder was amazing: very friendly, and she kept the room looking pristine. never suspected that the room was dirty or that shortcuts were taken. only downside is they dont have cash in the restaurant register, so u cant really pay cash.

Overall nice hotel and very helpful staff. The room was spacious and comfortable. Water was hot and the HVAC worked well. Starbucks located on the property as well. Only downside around the hotel is security concern from people on the street hanging around the building entrance. Security is on property and seemed actively patrolling.
M R — Google review
Have always wanted to stay at the Radisson. But was so disappointed paying over $200 for one night, plus parking(what the helll are you supposed to do with your car) and breakfast. I really wanted to love the place, but it was noisy, and not very clean, the glasses in the washroom still had leftover toothpaste from a previous guest in them. Was told they upgraded us to a newly renovated room, it was nice. As much as I love the idea of not having carpets in hotel rooms, they then need to renovated to add sound barriers. Even way up high the traffic noise was awful, and we could hear all of the rooms around us, flush or shower. The shower was really nice. The staff were all very nice, breakfast was good, and the location was great for us. But I do not plan on ever staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone. Look elsewhere!
Shera S — Google review
I have had a great experience at this hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful for my entire stay. I was in one of the king suite rooms on floor 22. I am definitely the type to inspect a hotel room before I settle in and found the bedding, bathroom, and furniture to be clean and in new condition. I also used the fitness facility, which is certainly a bit outdated, but I don't find that to be a deterrent - it was clean and everything worked! As other reviewers mention, this part of Winnipeg is a bit on the rougher side. I am a female solo traveller so I tend to be extra aware of that sort of thing, but to be honest I didn't find it to be any worse than any of the downtown cores of other major North American cities I've visited. The hotel has security on site as well. The hotel's relative location to other attractions is great. Basically, if you want to stay in downtown Winnipeg, this problem is most likely unavoidable and that's not this particular hotel's fault. Would recommend staying here!

Well, I paid through a third-party my mistake so I didn’t even get the chance to see a room. The young girls hands were tied she could not help me at all. She couldn’t even give me a paper with the label because it was all locked in the office a little more trust in your poor employees would benefit your company. Because I didn’t have a credit card to secure the room I could not get it, but I had the cash in my bank.

Best hotel I’ve stayed in with kids for hockey tournament. Hotel staff was so polite, they opened a hallway for the kids to play mini sticks, had access to the lounge for parents and kids to hang out in; Was all around best experience I’ve ever had; kudos to the staff. Hope to stay again

I recently stayed at the Hilton Winnipeg Airport after winning a giveaway, and it was an amazing experience! At the front desk, I was warmly greeted by Veronika — she was very professional, friendly, and helpful. The whole staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. Everything was handled with great professionalism, and I left with a very positive impression. Highly recommend this hotel!

Other than the bathtub being a bit slippery (I nearly wiped out, but I am clumsy and should have thought to bring my own tub-mat!), the service was second to none! Always playful and serious, and willing to provide coffee for the in-room coffee makers, and privacy when needed, my friend and I truly appreciate the work they did!
Marjorie R — Google review
Stayed one night around August 4th. Unfortunately, first impression of the hotel may have created a negative bias moving forward. Front staff had a mix of very friendly or sour service reps. Elevator was dirty with visible dust and hairballs at one point. Hallway to room was hot and not air conditioned. Felt very dated with an odour of ancient cigarette smo ke. The room was a suite which was promising but finding a thick, curly, dark hair in my face towel was a bummer. Mattresses were tired and needing replacement. The general area didn't seem appealing but it is conveniently close to the airport (although I wasn't flying).
Alexandre B — Google review
My partner and I stayed at the Hilton Winnipeg for a weekend and it was ok overall, but it left us with very mixed impressions. The property is clearly tired. Some elements have been updated, but that only creates a strange mish-mash of old and new. For example, the in-room TVs are the same modern ones used in newer Hiltons and can be controlled from your phone. However, the hotel hasn’t integrated room controls into the system, so basic things like adjusting the A/C or turning off lights still have to be done manually. The TV guide was also completely broken as it showed completely inaccurate show and programming information. The Executive Lounge, on the other hand, has been nicely renovated and offered decent amenities. In contrast, the elevators felt sketchy and the hallways were dim and stuffy. We came here for a special and significant occasion, and I reached out in advance to arrange a surprise. Unfortunately, nothing was prepared at check-in. The next day, however, I spoke with Nav, the Guest Services Manager, who was incredibly apologetic and ensured the surprise was delivered to our suite while we were at dinner. That level of service recovery really stood out and was a highlight of the stay. The rest of the experience, however, was inconsistent. Breakfast was particularly disappointing—borderline inedible. The Eggs Benedict was the worst I’ve had at any restaurant, let alone a Hilton: more like a cup of mayo with paprika than hollandaise. For Gold and Diamond members, breakfast is handled in the “U.S. Hilton style,” with a daily credit instead of a proper complimentary breakfast. Many menu items exceed the credit, including the underwhelming buffet. After that experience, we avoided the restaurant and stuck to breakfast pastries in the Executive Lounge, which were at least reliable. Overall, the service here is excellent. But the property itself is in need of a major update.

I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn on Pembina Highway. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The location is very convenient, close to restaurants, shopping, and easy access to downtown. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and nicely updated with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beds are comfortable, and I really appreciated how well-kept everything was. The pool and hot tub were great for relaxing, and the fitness area was clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices, and the service was excellent. I also loved that the hotel is family-friendly and even pet-friendly, which makes it a great option for different types of travelers. Overall, I would definitely recommend Holiday Inn Pembina to anyone visiting Winnipeg—great value, excellent service, and a very comfortable place to stay.

If possible this hotel and staff gets a negative rating. We checked in at 7:48pm on September 19. The parking lot smelt like an outdoor latrine. The moment we stepped off the elevator on the 5th floor, there was a strong stench of stale cigarette smoke and some other sour smell. Got into room 502 - the room had a strong odor of smoke and some other stale musty smell. Tired and not inclined to go out to find another hotel - our first time in Manitoba - and it was raining - we decided to get a Lysol spray and do what we can to make the room bearable. Got up next morning at 2 and became aware of a strong urine smell which we figured came from the carpet at the side of the bed. The stench was unbearable - we got up and tried to shower but no luck here again. The tub was not draining. We then examined the bathroom closely and saw urine stains on the outside of the toilet bowl. It just got worse the closer we looked. Called the front desk - someone came up but no satisfaction - they could not find us a room. We hurried to check out. The Manager Daniel came out while I was relating what happened to the front desk clerk- he was very aggressive and accused me of being aggressive when I was calmly but firmly reporting what happened. He was very rude, aggressive and offered me $40 off. I declined and asked for his card but he instead scribbled his name on a piece of paper. That's it. I will be escalating this to upper management. This place does not even rank as a truck stop motel and should be shut down. You're better off sleeping in your car.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean, making it a relaxing experience. The hotel staff overall were warm, professional, and always ready to help, which really made us feel welcome. The dinner at the restaurant was another highlight—great food with attentive service. I also want to give a special mention to Mr. Vivek, the Security Supervisor, who kindly assisted us with parking and our luggage. His helpfulness stood out and added to an already wonderful stay. I’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

Unfortunately pretty disappointing, especially for the money spent to stay here. The rooms need an update as you can see the wear and tear on the furniture, and the carpets were all stained and tore up. Bed was comfortable to me though. People were running, yelling and playing music in the hallway up until 1:30am. Front desk staff was quick and polite but not overtly friendly. Breakfast buffet was alright. Fabric on the seats peeling up at the restaurant. Elevators dirty.

The staff has been very helpful. I have no issues with the rooms and cleaniness of the rooms. The lounge staff is great, very helpful and can have a sense of humor. Understandably can be busy and a little slower but they still can do a great job

Staff at this location are absolutely wonderful. They are kind and very helpful. The location is close to transit and food which were things we needed for our stay. We booked two adjoining rooms for our sports team for the weekend and did find immediately we could not use one of the bathrooms. It was left in an unusable state after some renovations had taken place (sticky floors with boot marks, messy countertops, and dirty shower). We were offered another room, but it only had one bed and could not accommodate those staying, so we opted not to move. Staff did come in quickly to clean the bathroom for us. After the cleaning, we found a bedbug on the shower curtain of one bathroom. We let the front desk staff know immediately and sent an email notification to cleaning staff about it. We received no follow up, so I am unsure of what the facility did to ensure this was a one-off incident. We checked our mattresses, box springs, and along the baseboards of both rooms where bedbugs like to hide and found none. None of the occupants of the two rooms were bitten, so we believe it to have been a one-off, but cannot be sure. I contacted the hotel after our stay to discuss the issues we had, and I heard back from them within 48 hours. The Travelodge was willing to work with us offering either a complimentary stay in the future or a partial refund through the third party booking agent. I contact the third party agent who also contacted the Travelodge, and the Travelodge was no longer willing to provide a partial refund. They claimed to try and offer us accommodation, but we had not received any offers to change rooms after the first night. One cleaning staff member simply asked if we were going to continue our stay at the hotel, and we confirmed we were.

Friendly service. Some workers are great, some are average. One of our rooms smelled like pee, but they gave us another room, so that was good. It might have been nice to get help moving our stuff considering the move was not our fault. The pool area is awesome! The price was great.

So here we go my honest review. We could hear the neighbours way to much so not good. The air conditioning had no chance cooling the room till morning so very hard falling asleep. The shower was great good size as well the pool was also very good. Breakfast was bad don't need breakfast like that just cereal, fruits, toast, jams but NO warm eggs or bacon or sausage or anything so very dissapointed in breakfast.

Great hotel and staff, hotel feels a little dated but they are working on upgrading. Absolutely no complaints, good breakfast, pool, hot tub and sauna all very good and clean, has an area with lots of tvs, good menu items, some pool tables, food and some slot machines. We used Uber daily and was not an issue getting a ride. Enjoy your stay 😊

The building is pretty much what I expected after seeing the outside. There’s an old fashioned vibe for sure. The rooms were slightly rough around the edges to be completely transparent, but you get what you pay for. That being said, they were in fact kept tidy. I immediately appreciated the water pressure in the shower, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. overall cool spot!

Great basic hotel to stay at. If it is a stop off as you drive through, this fits the bill perfectly! The staff were lovely, room clean and comfortable beds. One thing to be warned about, your carrying your luggage up the stairs, so if you have a ot of luggage and other stuff, you have been warned. I was there on a motorcycle and they let me park right in front , next to the front doors. So give them points for being accommodating for the bike.. Staff was overall great..!!

I stopped at the Holiday Inn Express on Ellice Ave in Winnipeg for a quick overnight on my Toronto-to-Calgary road trip—and it was exactly what I needed. The staff were friendly and check-in was quick and easy, even late in the evening. The room was clean, quiet, and super comfy—perfect for recharging after a long day of driving. I really appreciated the blackout curtains and the cozy bed. Slept like a rock. The free breakfast in the morning was a great bonus. Good coffee, hot food, and an easy start to the next leg of my trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone passing through Winnipeg—great service, reliable comfort, and exactly the kind of pit stop every road-tripper needs.

The Holiday Inn Express Winnipeg Airport offers excellent parking availability, which was a major benefit during my stay. The hotel maintained its cleanliness, and the staff were consistently polite and helpful. It's worth mentioning that both nights saw a high level of activity and noise from other guests, this may or may not be a normal occurrence for this hotel, it did end up leading to several interventions by the Winnipeg Police Service. However, this was absolutely not on the hotel; the employees were highly effective and proactive in addressing these issues, demonstrating great professionalism. While these incidents occurred, the hotel staff managed them commendably.

Service can't be beat! Super friendly staff and amazing breakfast and pool. Location was amazing. Plenty of parking and stuff nearby. Had two rooms during my stay. One was perfect while the second needed some upkeep.

Had to be moved twice after check in, because the rooms had broken appliances (Fridge in the first room was broken, and heater/air-conditioner was not working in the second room). Moving once is disappointing but understandable. Having to move a second time for something broken that can be easily checked, is absolutely pitiful for the price of a basic room here. The employees attending and "policing" the breakfast buffet need to be more considerate and less accusatory when asking for breakfast vouchers. I asked to speak with the manager after check out to have the "moving rooms" situation addressed and was told I'd get a call back, but heard nothing in two days. I tried to call them yesterday, but got hung up on when I was transferred to the front desk. Terrible experience for paying a premium price of $1100+ for four days in a BASIC room. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Probably the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed at in Canada. The carpet clearly hadn’t seen a vacuum in ages, and there was hair all over the bathroom. I just wanted to check out as soon as possible. Check-in was painfully slow — over 20 minutes. Breakfast was decent for a chain hotel, and the breakfast staff were very friendly, which was the one bright spot.

It's my first time staying here and the service was superb and top-tier. The staff and front desk receptionist is also very attentive with my needs. The room is clean also and I got a nice room during my overnight stay. I will def go back. Thanks!

Hotel is decent - clean and good-sized rooms for what you're paying. They do have some gluten-free options in the breakfast buffet - they brought me GF bread and a plate of bacon when I couldn't eat the eggs.

We had a wedding social at the venue attached to the hotel and everything was perfect. The staff was amazing, friendly, and helpful. They took care of everything for us including: food, security, DJ, bartenders. They also allowed us to book rooms at a group rate and accommodated many of our guests. They even made sure we had reservations for supper and breakfast around our schedule! Tracy and her team are amazing! She was super helpful and accommodating and I would highly recommend to book events through them! Also the pricing was crazy good!

Staff is very friendly pool waterside and hot tub were great. Room was only cleaned once durning our 4 day stay last day they knocked but it was late in the day so we just declined. There was lots of dust in the room that we didn't really noticed. Other than that it was fine

We had our annual company safety meeting and it was a great experience. Mariia was an amazing hostess and took exceptional care of our group. The seafood buffet was large and satisfying. Everything I had was great. We will definitely be back. Thanks

The room smelled like stale popcorn, toilet paper was like tissue paper, shower curtain kept falling open in both sides, water leaked into the carpet outside the bathroom. The service was great, very helpful and friendly staff. The location was right in the middle of everything. Would go again if another room was better.

This is my new favorite Canad Inn! Our suite was just perfect, and exactly what we had requested on our reservation. Everything was clean and quiet, and the housekeeping staff were very mindful of the DND we put out. They check on you after 5 days to see if you need anything. I would say the beds are a bit creaky and hard-ish. The sofa bed was very creaky indeed but reasonably comfy. The kitchenette had everything we needed, although the microwave was a bit of an annoyance in the mornings when trying to heat something up and you can't silence the beeps. It was nice to be able to use the back stairs to come and go, however there are some drawbacks. The outside of the hotel has an interesting ambiance, we saw more than a few seedy people and deals happening in the back parking lot day and night, but it was never noisy and we never felt unsafe. We were asked for money and cigarettes more than once. Be mindful nobody comes in with you when you scan your card. It was great to have Giant Tiger and a pharmacy right there! Also a 7-11 right across the street. The Aaltos here is pretty darn good, and Marita was a wonderful server with a delightful sense of humor.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I spent a whole month at Canad Inns Transcona and had a great experience! The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located. A special shout-out to Ameen at the front desk — always welcoming, friendly, and professional. He truly made a difference from day one with his warm attitude and helpfulness. Thank you for the excellent service — highly recommended!

The bathroom haven't to me was working properly and when I switched rooms I forgot a speaker. Which in one day went missing. And the staff tried but who knows. Aren't they suppose to check the rooms after check out. The receptionist was cryptic as I asked did anyone else stay in the room since me and she wouldn't give me a proper answer. Which leads me to believe they know where my device is.

We had a great experience at this hotel overall. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms felt fresh and modern, and the AC worked perfectly. We also enjoyed the breakfast in the morning—it was a nice way to start the day. We brought our dog along and felt very well accommodated. Would definitely stay here again!

Cleaner missed a couple areas and the chair was stained but everything else was great. Gym was still a bit neglected cleaning wise but it was free/empty pretty much all the time. Super happy with our stay as always, friendly and accommodating staff except one girl who didn't seem to speak/understand English and kept trying to come in and clean our room while i was trying to work, and had to argue her out of the room. Thankfully when her supervisor came to our room shortly after and we explained to her also that we didn't need housekeeping, she quickly understood we were fine. Clearly juat a language and cultural barrier with the other girl. Must have been her first day or something. No worries. :)

tars I had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I walked in, the experience was top-notch. Blaine at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, professional, and helpful—he really set the tone for the whole visit. The check-in process was smooth, and he went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was spotless, the amenities were great, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional service!

I can’t say enough good things about the staff at this hotel! All of them are so attentive, kind, and understanding! The breakfast always had fresh fruits, which was nice. There’s also plenty of parking, so there’s enough space for your car even when the hotel is packed. The pool is extremely clean. The area itself is a bit questionable, but the hotel feels safe. Also the patio outside is the cutest.

Gives more a 3-star vibe than the 2-star Google listing so I was impressed. Staff was friendly, good spot for dogs and I didn't hear the trains from my room which was as close as you could get to the tracks. Gluten free bread and almond milk available for breakfast so I was happy! The little social media rubber ducky was a nice touch!

Winnipeg – Vibes, Martinis & Fried Chicken! I drank espresso martinis all night (and yes, they’re the best I’ve ever had — absolutely to die for!). Pair that with the crispiest, juiciest fried chicken dinner, and you’ve got the perfect night in. The hotel itself was lovely, hospitable, and super welcoming, especially with me being from Australia — they made me feel right at home. 🛎️ Great service, amazing cocktails, and comfort food done right. 🌃 Just a heads-up: I wouldn’t wander outside alone at night — the area can get a little rowdy. But once you’re inside, it’s all warmth, good vibes, and indulgence. Highly recommend if you’re after a cozy stay with top-tier cocktails and comfort food.

Nice and open, big seating area for breakfast. Photo op in lobby with props. Lovely front desk staff. Clean. Got a cute Super 8 rubber duck! Only con was fan not working in bathroom. Other guests said the squeaking of the trains were loud in their room, I didn’t have that issue.

This was by far the best hotel we have stayed at, super clean, modern Rooms with good beds and at a great price. Excellent location with lots of parking. But where this hotel really was the best was the Amazing staff everyone from corporate manager, the general manager tight down to the house keepers where super friendly and did their best to make my stay and the stay of of crew a truly great experience. After staying here it makes me want to change some my other 5 star hotel down to four.

Located in the heart of Winnipeg's downtown SHED district, Alt Hotel Winnipeg offers modern and stylish accommodations for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel features contemporary rooms with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffeemakers, and rainfall showers. Guests can enjoy the convenience of being next door to Bell MTS Place for entertainment options. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance to various dining, nightlife, and entertainment venues.
It’s a perfect place to stay if you need to be in the downtown area for a few days. All the information you need for your stay is available on their website (like parking for example which you need to pay for). I like that you could check in online (like you would do for a flight) and let them know what time you are arriving. The service is exceptional. We also were very pleased that they were able to accommodate our late check out.
Dionisia R — Google review
The Alt has really nice rooms and has previously been my go-to spot to stay and give my business. I have never encountered any serious problems until my last stay here. I originally booked this room with a government rate, as previously, they have always accepted it. I arrived at the hotel and checked in with no issues. We got settled in, just for me to get a call around 6pm, that they would not be giving me the same rate and I would have to pay $350 plus tax for a room, that I already checked in to. I protested this rate and the individual on the phone said that the best he could do was $269 plus tax. Keep in mind that I booked this hotel room 9 months in advance, and rates have always stayed at $199 plus tax, even when booking previously. Obviously, I was not very happy. I explained how I had already checked in and had no time to look for anything cheaper. After which he responded with (rudely I might add), “well I can go ahead and cancel your reservation then”. Of course, at this point all hotels in the area were fully booked, and I had no option but to pay this amount and stay here. And it is clear that this man was aware of this. I have always heard of some hotel businesses to be shady, in ways that make them more money. But to treat a regular customer like this, knowing they have no options, is taking advantage of us. I will note my friend also booked a hotel here the same night and her price was changed to $350 plus tax. So, it was not just me who got screwed. I used to praise this hotel and recommended it to everyone I could. I will now shout to the rooftops to avoid this place, as I will never stay here again with such awful treatment of me and numerous people this weekend.

I had a wonderful stay at Alt Hotel Winnipeg. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable, creating a relaxing environment throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is welcoming and stylish, making it a great place to unwind. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful, which made my experience even more enjoyable. I truly appreciated their warm hospitality. I would definitely recommend Alt Hotel Winnipeg to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and friendly place to stay in the city.

The hotel itself is nice. The service was okay. Parking was unclear. When I called a lady told me to register the ticket at the front desk and pay $21. But upon arrival nobody seemed to know and just told us to pay at the parking exit, which was $28. Other than that, we had a great view of Canada Life Center. The room was quite unique in a good way, unlike any other room we had. With Browns Social House being right below the hotel, we didn’t have to worry about driving or cabbing anywhere, before our after the Jets game. Huge plus.

It is truly a 3 star hotel without porter or valet parking services. The check in and checkout process were quick. It is an industrial minimalist hotel. The bathroom and mattress are ok! However the police sirens in the middle of nights made it unbearable to sleep! You can hear everything on the street, unfortunately! The nightly room rate is quite high for the type of room! Sorry I do NOT recommend this hotel!

Awesome location. Right in the heart of downtown. There is also a Tim Hortons beside the Hotel. Incase of the car parking. You can park it in the indigo parking and you can directly enter the hotel from the Skywalk. Check with the hotel for the Car parking address. It is behind the hotel in Indigo parking lot. Plenty of car parking available. For 24 hours Car parking it costs about 21$ to be paid at the ALT hotel reception. I loved my luxurious stay.

Came to Winnipeg for business our company uses and professional booking company for our travels. When I asked at the desk about a late checkout I was told to talk to the desk in the morning as it would be taken care of then. Went to the desk in the morning and told they couldn't give me a later check out because they were too busy. Every other hotel that I have ever stayed in could always give you a later check out. How can you come to a city and have to bring you suitcase to your jobsite . When I come back to Winnipeg I will not be staying here and be letting our booking company know not to use this place again.

The Marlborough Hotel, situated in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, offers a blend of classic charm and modern amenities. The historic hotel features elegant rooms with contemporary touches and serves breakfast to start the day right. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's pub and restaurant for delicious meals and drinks. The Joannas cafe within the hotel provides a serene setting with its 24-foot high space illuminated by natural light through west-facing windows.
I'm sure it was elegant at one point in time, maybe a hundred years ago. Now it's decrepit and running down. I ended up there overnight when my travel plans got sidetracked. The walls are literally falling apart in places, the carpet is filthy, there's a stench in the air, and it's just all around disgusting. My room was so gross. My bed was not something I would ever sleep in again. The shower head sprayed water and the toilet didn't really flush well. The window had no screen on it and it looked out onto another building and was frankly kind of scary. The pool was not accessible and the hallway leading to the pool was showing signs of a flood at one point. The air conditioner in my room did not work, it just kind of pushed air around. I would not recommend this for somebody who has reservations about staying in gross settings or really anyone lol. I honestly felt unsafe there. Check out was noon but I was gone way earlier.
Cheyenne K — Google review
Well it definitely wasn't what we expected. The pictures online must be quite dated, because the rooms were nothing to write home about... rooms were kinda dingy & dark, sheets didn't have a full coat of hair, but there were definitely a few stray ones. Bathtub had a couple extra holes, but the water stayed in most of the time. Bed was actually quite comfy, considering. It felt very eerie in the hotel, almost like as if someone would sneak around a corner and try & mug you. But thankfully Someone else was watching over us🙏 the night previously to when we got there, a customer had his vehicle broken into, so that caused some concern, but the security guard was very understanding & kind and said that we could park our vehicle where he could watch it during his work shift, which very was much appreciated. The hotel staff were very accommodating and we had no issues with checking in/ checking out etc. Definitely not a family getaway hotel, but if you get your thrills by living on the edge, then this place would definitely rate right up there🤔
Sam B — Google review
Definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here. There was brown stains on the mattress cover. Still a really long black hair in the shower bugs in the corners of the room in the cracks of the floor not to mention my friends AirPods were stolen out of the room because our door didn’t completely latch and the key card meant nothing to the door and to top it all off we had some drunk guy walk into our room while we were sleeping thinking it was his room. If I could give this hotel, zero stars I would.
Becca H — Google review
If I could give this hotel zero stars that is what’s I’d do. When we pulled up police were in the lobby. Apparently dealing with a situation which is a common occurrence. I thought perhaps we had the address wrong because this place looked more like a halfway house then a hotel. This is not the place I get out of my car. This is where I roll up my windows and lock the doors. We checked in and couldn’t get our room doors open. We had to go back to the front desk and they sent security up to open the doors which are apparently tricky. The hotel is dingy, stale and was nothing like what is advertised. We left immediately and are being denied a refund. A $200 damage deposit was placed on my cc. I had it retuned before we left 8 minutes later. The hotel then charged me the $200 again the next day without my consent or knowledge. We didn’t even enter our room. This hotel is unsafe and not clean. The staff are rude and not helpful. There is no parking. The entire experience was scary especially for 2 females travelling alone. Do not stay here.
Lyndsie — Google review
Wow. This place has really gone down hill. I mean.. It was always kind of a crash place to stay at when you were in town for a concert. But I would not recommend even doing that. The air conditioning sytem didn't work and had not been working for weeks (even though they fed me a line that it was being worked on that day and will be back on soon, I found out from other staff it's been broken for ages and will not be fixed...) the floor in the room was sticky. There was mice traps under the bed! Pretty well disgusting. ... The staff were nice enough and the lobby is nice. That's all I can say good about this place. Price was ridiculous considering the room....
Dustin B — Google review
Awful place to stay. Security was rude to my partner when he tried to go up to our room without me. No complimentary breakfast even though the site said it did. When asking the front desk they said they stopped doing it months before, so maybe they should take it off their site. Asked if the pool was open, was told it was out of service. Asked if their lounge was open, they said it was closed indefinitely. So basically everything they said they had was NOT available. The hotel smelled like old cigarette butts, stains on the carpets and walls. Ice machine was broken, 1 elevator was broken. Housekeeping came once, didn't leave any fresh towels just made 1 bed in a 2 bed room. Asked the front desk for fresh towels and was given 1 towel for my partner and I. No A/C, very hot in the room. When we looked out the window, our view was brick walls and old clothes and garbage outside. Honestly don't waste your money here, nothing good about this steaming dump hotel.
Ashley J — Google review
THIS IS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES.This place is horrible. We had to switch rooms because it was too hot and we couldn’t breath. They said it’s been broken for years. On the door it had marks near the key hole as if people tried to break in. No windows and the elevator is very sketchy, the rooms have holes, burns, and even stains everywhere. Rust in the bathroom. The pool water was green and the slide was not working. The place had potential if they renovated everything and got a house cleaning that actually cleaned the rooms. Plus the wifi is so horrible. You might as well just stay at Canada Inn it is much better.
Prosper K — Google review
Let me start my saying that I have travelled to 31 different countries and stayed in countless hotels, motels, hostels, hell, even hammocks! This place was the worst place I have ever seen. When you are booking a room here, you may as well be reserving a $100+ room at the mission! My wife booked a room here for us, our 2 young children (1 and 4) and our dog. The first room we were given was 506, the deadbolt was broken, the AC and TV did not work, there was a cigarette burn on the toilet seat, the tub had no drain, just a hole and the sheets were stained. I went back down and asked for another room with no hassle at all. We were given 505, this was marginally better, however there were carvings on the dresser, yellowing sheets, vomit and blood stains on the bed dress and the bathroom ceiling looked like it was caving in. We decided to check out and asked for a refund. I let the manager know of our experience, he apologized and refunded our room with no hassle. The service here was very good. The front deck man was very friendly and accommodating of our request. I actually feel sorry for the employees who work here, I could just imagine what they have to deal with when less than understanding guests complain. Or even with the vagrants who appear to somehow get rooms here.

Mere Hotel is a stylish and contemporary waterfront hotel located in the Exchange District of Winnipeg. The modern rooms offer stunning views of the Red River, with some featuring bedside USB ports and luxurious bathrooms. This pet-friendly hotel is perfect for early-morning walks along the waterfront at Stephen Juba Park. Guests can also enjoy complimentary amenities such as juices and Clif energy bars in their rooms.
Everything was good, clean, and comfortable. The glass bathroom walls were a surprise - there are shades to pull down for privacy, but they are kind of transparent in the right lighting. The rooms are comfortable. There is a paid parking lot with very limited parking. Our second time staying here, the front desk staff was very helpful with parking as we had to park on the street and she made sure we were parked in place where we wouldn't get a ticket or towed. She also let us take the luggage cart to our car to bring our luggage inside. Overall I recommend staying here. It's a great location and very comfortable.
Carolyn R — Google review
My partner and I decided on this unique hotel for my birthday celebration this year. The rooms here are unique and spacious! However their hidden fees and poor hospitality make the price inflation quite concerning. Their deposit request is nearly 115% of the room charge if not paying their preferred method. The average deposit is $50-200 dollars. I’ve worked for two five star hotels that knew it was poor practice to request more of a deposit than a fee for accommodation and I was “assured” that this is standard by the gentlemen I spoke with here. I don’t want others believing that’s the case. The overnight outdoor parking prices are far above the provincial average and the location leaves so much more to be desired then the photos and paid reviews dictate. The heaters/air conditioning buzzes throughout the night and the glassware, amenities and complimentary items were dirty and some had been opened by previous guests. Staff can be seen rolling their eyes and conversations reflecting guests in a bad light can be heard behind hollow doors. PSA to anyone who does chance this hotel; there is $8.00 overnight parking on James St, across from the hotel with some lovely people. I would highly recommend accessing this before being persuaded to purchase a pass by The Mere Hotel Staff. Take care everyone!

Location was great and same with the rooms. Everything was beautiful. I love that they are dog friendly. However, my only issue was the service. Cleaning staff were amazing! My issue was the front desk staff. They were rude, inconsiderate and just took away from such a great hotel. If they got rid of the man who works during the day, my rating would have been a 5. It felt like I was inconveniencing him by checking in. Don’t tell me I have parking spot and then sell too many. That’s just rude. No solutions either. Just oh a refund. Downtown Winnipeg is not the safest but yes let me park my car blocks away after paying for a parking spot. They did refund my money but still. Just keep that in mind if you want to park there, don’t leave once you park.
Morgana W — Google review
They don't really offer amenities that usually would come with other hotels. Like a bathrobe or slippers. I will commend their coffee maker (Nespresso) and the coffee they provide. Really good. Cleanliness of the room was good. Service was okay, although most part the people at front were kind and courteous. They charged deposits and the amount of the stay at the beginning. Also the deposit charge was higher than it should be, so keep an eye that they do return it after.

Stayed one night and was very pleased overall. This boutique hotel offers a uniquely urban Winnipeg experience. If convenient parking is your top priority, you're better off at a generic chain hotel located in a sea of surface parking or with a garage to serve its 1,000 rooms. But if you're after something with character, this contemporary hotel in one of Canada’s best-preserved historic districts is a great choice. While not a luxury hotel, the rooms are spotless, comfortable, and well-designed — and the rates are very reasonable. I agree with others: the glass bathroom wall with semi-private blinds is a strange design choice, and the lobby could use some more personality given the hotel’s otherwise thoughtful design. That said, the rooms, location, and landscape design truly shine. The setting is both distinctly urban and remarkably peaceful, with scenic views of the post-industrial riverfront. As for parking? It was no problem — and honestly, even a five-minute walk wouldn't have been a big deal. But if that's a dealbreaker for you, the Canad Inns might be more your speed. Also: extra brownie points for the geothermal heating and cooling. That was a cool surprise,
Anthony G — Google review
The unfortunate aspect about this hotel is that it has nice rooms, a good river view option and the service is wonderful. BUT be prepared for a parking lot suited for 1/8 the hotel guests. Everytime we go there, there are no spots. They tell you to park on the street or in the loading area at the front of the hotel (if there’s room). Our last experience involved driving around for 20 minutes to find a spot on a sketchy side street over a block away. I refused. We drove around again and eventually got a spot in the loading area but I almost boxed someone in to get there. The front desk was amazing and waived our parking fees - if he hadn’t that would have solidified our decision to never return. So if you’re up for a gamble and prepared for the possibility of no parking, great hotel. If it’s your anniversary, like it was ours, go the Hyatt House South on Sterling Lyon (right next to the Rec Room). Oh and for breakfast we actually walked over to the Inn At The Forks hotel! Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed to have to pay $23 for parking and not be guaranteed a spot. 2 unidentified bugs in our room but they were not bed bugs. A lot of wasps outside at the restaurant while trying to enjoy dinner and a drink. The hotel was fairly clean but starting to get run down in areas. The best part of my stay was the shower and the toiletries.
Rhonda S — Google review
Overall cute hotel, located near the water but also a bar. You can hear all of the outside fun at this location. Beds were hard, but clean. The hotel was experiencing system problems so I had to be escorted to my room and let in every time I wanted in, and there were two instances where my door was opened while I was in bed. I was not compt for any inconvenience or refunded for leaving early. Overall not the best hotel experience but again cleanliness counts!

During my stay, I witnessed Pauline go above and beyond to help a guest who had lost his phone. She was incredibly patient, even using her own phone to assist, and made sure he got it back. The man was stressed at first but left very happy thanks to her. That’s true customer service — Pauline is the reason I’d recommend this hotel. She’s the best!

This hotel is very well located near the Forks, the Canadian Museum For Human Rights and the train station. It’s also probably the cheapest hotel in the area. The rooms were a good size but very shabby and dirty. There was filth worked into our carpets, some black tar-like substance on a lampshade and the inside of the microwave was black. Breakfast was mediocre at best, with limited options and no hot vegetarian options on some days. The “hot water” for the 24 hour tea station was usually lukewarm and in one case I had to ask twice over an hour apart to get someone to fill it. The gym consisted of 4 cardio machines. Two were treadmills and neither of them worked. The water cooler was empty. The pool is permanently closed. The area the hotel is in feels a bit rough and the back door which was supposed to require 24 hour card access never actually did. I did not report most of this to the hotel because 1) nobody asked and 2) we were travelling with kids and lots of baggage, so it was easier to avoid the filth and work around the problems than switch rooms or hotels. If proximity to certain attractions Or budget is important to you, then this is fine. Otherwise, I’m sure you can do better.

Room was cleaned and organized. Had a good stay. Although, Should have some water bottles in the room. The core part what made disappointed about this stay was a parking charges. As a part of customer service, parking should be free for customers. This was my first time ever when I paid for parking at the hotel. Management needs to look into that for better customer experience and more crowd towards your door.

The reviews for this hotel are up and down. I found it to be a great place to stay. Is it 5 star? No but it’s comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly. It’s located close by to downtown, the Forks and the train station. The one thing is the breakfast isn’t anything to write home about but there are restaurants close by.

I had an issue with my booking due to a problem on the online website, but Jyoti at the front desk and her coworker were absolutely amazing! They were patient, friendly, and went out of their way to help me sort everything out quickly. Excellent customer service and a really positive experience — thank you both for making a stressful situation so easy to handle! Highly recommend the staff at Humphry Inn.

I’m currently staying at this hotel and I had mistakenly made an extra booking for the same night in addition to my original reservation. The lady at the reception kindly called me to inform me that there were two bookings under my name. She helped me contact Hotels.com to cancel the extra one. Even though the Hotels.com agent on the phone was a bit rude to her because she was busy assisting other guests and couldn’t respond right away, she was still extremely cooperative and professional. Thanks to her support, I received a full refund even though the booking was technically non-refundable. I truly appreciate her help and professionalism. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone — great service and very respectful staff!

RYAN! and crew were simply amazing. Smiles from one end of the cheek to the other. Also very, very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Highly suggest this hotel if you are travelling & staying in Winnipeg. Only thing would say is : Ryan and team -- please .. please .. PLEASE re-open the pool. It is so hot in Canada during the summers & a pool is key. Otherwise, everything else was 10/10. Until next time!

Let's be real, if you're booking the Humphry, you're probably on a budget. It's not deluxe. But the rooms are simple, the parking is cheap, the AC blows cold, and the breakfast is completely passable. If you plan to drive the city, book farther out. But if you're in a smaller group, and wanting to explore Winnipeg on foot, you can't beat the Humphry for the price. Great access to the downtown, and it made for a great weekend in Winnipeg. Would recommend.

The Norwood Hotel, located in St. Boniface, offers low-key rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi and parking. The hotel features a relaxed restaurant and bar, as well as a business center. Guests can take advantage of laundry facilities, concierge service, and access to a nearby golf course. The pet-friendly hotel is praised for its serene surroundings and beautiful interior design. Visitors appreciate the spacious, clean, and quiet rooms while noting the convenient location near popular attractions like the Forks and downtown Winnipeg.
The Norwood has always been a great hotel with an amazing restaurant serving the best quality food. Visited this restaurant many times and had their great buffets over the many years. Also attended a lot of banquets where they served great food and desserts. The Norwood is just a great local hotel that continues to be the hallmark hotel in Norwood.

We booked the hotel a week in advance as we are prepping to move. The receptionist is friendly and knowledgeable about our travels. They even upgraded our suite to a deluxe as a complimentary due to renovation on other rooms. The service is adequate, the cleaners are quick and thorough when asking for certain items, the receptionist respond to our requests efficient downstairs, and the security may need some training if sitting in the lounge to relax. The location of the hotel is feels safe and has amenities around the 10min block. The restaurant is next to the lobby of the hotel if feeling hungry. The wood tavern is only for lunch and dinner. Overall, the experience is cozy and reliable when going in and out of the hotel to explore.

This place is terrible. The cleaning person came in my daughter’s room while she was asleep and scared the crap outta her . Also! Watch your credit card statements after you leave. These people like to charge your card thousands of dollars long after you’re gone. I am not the only one this happened too. My travel companions card was also heavily over charged. Thousands of dollars. Do not use this hotel. The restaurant is pricey and they offer no breakfast for over $150 a room. Lots of drunk people milling about outside also. Do not use this hotel.

We stayed there for a night with pet. Building looks old but inside is renovated and clean. Room was clean carpet was little dusty. Washroom was very clean. Ac was working and room was not noisy at all. Customer service was good. They do have sign about parking that remove all the belongings I was scared about the the car. There is a liquor store at front and saw few shady people. Other than that it was nice stay.

Overpriced. Very small rooms. Beds are uncomfortable. No microwave. $5 for a bottle of water. $12 for parking. FOR PARKING!!!! On top of $180 for the room. Their website says discount rates for hospital visits....FALSE!!! Front desk says no deals. I gave 2 stars as they have good-sized windows with a nice view of the city.

I stayed one night in this hotel. Room was comfortable and the hotel was quiet. However, I walked in at 7pm and paid much more than I wanted to, but it was the only alternative to sleeping in the car on a cold night. I felt I was taken advantage of being in that situation. Book in advance and it can be a good experience.

I see why this is a three star hotel. Our room was full of fruit flies, missing the shower curtain, the toilet ran for 10 mins after flushing, and the floor was bumpy. You didn't feel like you could walk on it without socks. Would stay elsewhere next time. Positive was: Price was reasonable.

The hotel boasts an attached dining area and bar where visitors can enjoy delicious meals in a friendly environment. While some guests have noted minor cleanliness issues, overall feedback highlights the warm service provided by staff and fellow patrons alike.
This was a great place to stop on our cross country road trip. ALL of the staff provided friendly and helpful service and above and beyond to ensure our stay was restful and comfortable. The attached sports bar had good food and the extra amenities such as, free HOT breakfast ( very good), attached vendor for cold beverages and a small snack shop; served to enhance our overall experience. We would definitely stay here again, on our next road trip!!

We were traveling with our beloved dog & it is important that we have easy access to the outside. We could drive up to our door & unload with ease. They first wanted to put us on the second floor but were quick to meet our needs. The room was clean, spacious & beds comfortable. The neighborhood around the hotel had great green space to walk the dog. The breakfast was outstanding with eggs made to order. Will definitely be back.

Room was decent at first site and most wouldn't notice but being a professional cleaner for 18 years it was hard for me not to notice the little effort they put in for cleaning couldn't believe the amount of dander left over from past customers they don't use vaccums and the bathroom mirror still had stains on it and you'd think that be a given due to it being the first thing most people look at and from what I seen while leaving my suite the cleaner only had a broom and dust pan with them so highly doubt the floors are even washed and or sanitized after each client and honestly that's disgusting. I'm not one to complain over the little things and honestly had a pleasant night overall. I like to pay my dues and will always go out of my way to clean up after myself so I don't make anyones job harder then it should be..believe me I know from experience..overall I did have a peaceful experience and enjoyed the breakfast they included with my stay. It was nice having something to keep you occupied while they check your room for damages for the return of your deposit. Which wasn't at all something I was worried about losing given mentioned above. Then as they slapped with me with a 20 doller charge cause of 4 stained towels. The stains you ask were from the foundation I took off my face the night before and the other 3 were from me wiping down the room when I first arrived believe it or not. I was dumbfoubed and honestly felt alittle pissed off cause knowing bleach and hot water will work in order to clean the "stains" off the towels. It really just goes to show how greedy and ugly the world has become. Even being a respectful paying customer gets you shit on. SmH

The beds and room were super comfy and the breakfast was a sit down service so unexpected and a pleasure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was the location not the nicest spot but it was ok.

⸻ The room lighting is very poor — it feels quite dark inside. There’s no closet available, and the setup feels unsafe since the rooms are located outside the main hotel building. We even saw people roaming around using drugs, which was concerning. On the bright side, breakfast was very good

We had our 14 day trip/drive from Alberta to Nova scotia and vice versa. This by far was one of the best hotels we've been to. Reasonable price, plus they offer free hot breakfast for registered guests. We requested ours for to go and they packed it well with complete condiments. Will surely add this to our destination hotels.

Very nice room. Bar and restaurant onsite. Dog friendly in a good, safe, residential location. Kind front desk staff. No complaints. We loved our stay in Winnipeg and did not want to leave.
Blair E — Google review
I’ve never left a negative review before, but my experience at the Quality Inn in Winnipeg was truly disappointing. From the moment I checked in, things went downhill. The front desk staff seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged my questions. The room I was given felt outdated and wasn’t very clean – stains on the carpet, a musty smell, and hair in the bathroom. Noise was also a major issue. The walls are paper-thin; I could hear everything from the neighboring rooms and the hallway, which made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and barely worked. Breakfast was another letdown – very limited options, and the food that was available didn’t seem fresh. I ended up going elsewhere just to have a decent meal. Overall, this place didn’t meet basic expectations for comfort, cleanliness, or hospitality. There are definitely better options in Winnipeg for the same price or even less. I won’t be staying here again

If I Could leave a 0 star I would. Back in June I wanted to book a block in for my wedding that is happening in the city. They explained that they don’t offer a “soft block” where you can just reserve rooms without a credit card on file. You have to reserve a “hard block” where you put a card on file and have until a month before to cancel any remaining rooms that weren’t blocked so you don’t get charged. I asked to book 10 rooms and asked if for example if I only book 5 will they still get the group rate when I cancel the others, they said yes. Ok no problem I booked it and put my card on file. My mistake was having that conversation over the phone and not by email. Now that it’s a month out I called to cancel the remainder of un booked rooms. They’re now telling me that they have to cancel all the rooms and re book them but not under the group rate that was originally agreed upon. It’s ridiculous that they have these rules but don’t explain them, they even sent me an email after I first booked the hard block and in the email it just explained again to cancel a month out and nothing about if you don’t use all the rooms that and have to cancel than all will be voided and loose the group rate. If I knew that I would never had booked this hotel. It’s completely un fair that they didn’t do their jobs and explain it. I find it ridiculous they couldn’t just accept their mistake in not explaining or sending a proper email with the information and honouring the group rate. But instead it was do I want to keep the rooms or cancel them? It was very unprofessional and a complete waste of my time.

I was very disappointed by the level of customer service at the Quality Inn & Suites Winnipeg. From check-in to check-out, the staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful. When I raised concerns about the cleanliness and noise disturbances, I was met with dismissive attitudes and no real effort to address the problems. The front desk did not provide any solutions or compensation despite multiple complaints. It felt like customer satisfaction was not a priority. Communication was poor, and requests were often ignored or forgotten. Good customer service is essential, especially when issues arise during a stay. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far short of that standard. I would not recommend this location to anyone who values respectful and responsive staff.

If you're looking for a hotel that really lowers your expectations, look no further than this Quality Inn. Quality must be a joke—or maybe it’s short for “questionable quality,” because this place delivered like a soggy pizza on a rainy day. Let’s start with the room: a true time capsule from 1987, complete with faded curtains, a carpet that has clearly survived multiple plagues, and a mysterious smell I still can't identify (earthy? industrial? haunted?). The bed was so lumpy I considered checking under it for leftover laundry—or a small mammal. The walls are basically suggestions, not barriers. I now know more about the couple in the room next door than I do about some of my relatives. Thanks for the free audio drama, I guess? Breakfast was… creative. I’m still unsure what that “scrambled egg” was made of, but I admire the confidence it took to serve it. Coffee tasted like burnt regret, but it did wake me up—probably out of sheer confusion. In summary: if you’re into ironic travel experiences, this place is a must. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and sleep in your car. It might actually be cleaner.
Camille C — Google review
Welcome to the Quality Inn… where the only thing “quality” is the name. Where do I begin? Checked in expecting a decent stay — instead, I got an unintentional horror movie experience. The room: Think “vintage,” but not in a cool retro way — more like the sheets haven’t been changed since Y2K. The bathroom looked like it lost a fight with a mop… and the mop never showed up. The bugs: Oh, they were thriving. I didn’t realize this was an all-inclusive stay for bedbugs. One even waved at me from the ceiling. Pretty sure I’m on a first-name basis with a few of them now. The ambiance: Around 2 AM, we were treated to a live-action episode of Cops in the lobby. Police, shouting, chaos. Honestly, the most exciting part of the trip — 5 stars for the drama, 0 stars for the sleep. Staff: Friendly in the way a vending machine is. You can press all the buttons you want — nothing helpful is coming out. Final verdict? Unless you’re studying insects, auditioning for Fear Factor, or enjoy the smell of mystery stains, run — don’t walk — to literally any other hotel.

Booked in but then changed plans. Hotel still charged my card for full stay. And no response from management at all. Don't book unless you are 100% sure of your plans. These guys will charge you even though you cancelled legitimately.
Salik R — Google review
Our experience at this property was highly unsatisfactory. We were charged a $700 damage deposit for what appeared to be routine cleaning, and were subsequently accused of causing damage, despite no evidence of any such issues. The manager, Siamack, seemed displeased when we decided to check out and relocate to another hotel, as we did not agree to pay double the rate for the same accommodations in the following weeks. I would advise prospective guests to exercise caution when considering this location.

The Best Western Premier Winnipeg East is a comfortable and relaxed hotel near some of Winnipeg's most popular attractions. The indoor pool and fitness centre are great additions, while the 24/7 gym makes it perfect for fitness buffs. There's also a restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property. The dogs policy is one of the hotel's standout features, as owners can bring their furry friends along for free.
This is the third Best Western we’ve stayed at with our dogs and I’m beyond impressed with the pet policy and setup. I really appreciate the reasonable rules, access to outdoor spaces, and extras like having a sign for your door to let housekeeping know there’s a pet in the room. The rooms are always clean and spacious, breakfast is great (and free!), and the pool and hot tub is a bonus. I can’t recommend Best Western enough if you’re travelling with dogs.

We stayed at the BW Premier Winnipeg East last Tuesday and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable right away. Our room was spotless, well-kept, and very cozy. The pool area was clean and enjoyable, which our family really appreciated. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety to choose from, and it was a great way to start the day. Overall, everything was perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Keep up the great work — we’ll definitely be back!

This facility is amazing, what isn't is being told that I have to pay $14/person for an omelet breakfast because I booked through Expedia! So I will be either staying elsewhere or never book with Expedia again! No guest should feel like they're 2nd class after paying +$200. for a night's stay! So shame on Best Western and Expedia and guess what, I'm telling everyone who will listen. I guess your penny pinching will bite you hard this time. I know everyone!

Hotel was very modern and hip, i traveled with a pet and got the king suite on 2nd floor. Room was huge and really nice street graffiti art work which I loved so much I actually tried to take it off the wall, but it was mounted well and I failed. Free breakfast came with my room, and at night there was drinks and music near the lobby, great atmosphere 100% would recommend and stay here again!

Nice hotel with breakfast ($$$), and a swimming pool. Comfortable beds. Although I had asked to have the room cleaned, no one ever came to clean the room for 3 days, also asked for a house coat (unfortunately, they only have house coats for the 6th floor guests). I would recommend this hotel. Just keep your expectations low, that way you won't get disappointed.

My aunt discovered this hotel and had been returning for 3 years now and each time brings more family with her. This time she rented a block of rooms for our family for several days. The rooms were very spacious and modern. All raved about the breakfast. Delicious and extensive. Omelette station, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage etc. Enjoyed by all. The gym was one of the best we've seen in a hotel. The pool wasn't too busy on the one day we used it. The kids LOVED the slide and just have went down 50 times. There were loads of towels. Pool is large with a hot tub at one corner. Lots of loungers but they fill up quickly when busy. There is a pet floor. Rooms have no carpet to accommodate this. I felt the rooms packed storage compared to other hotels we've been in but it wasn't terrible. When we stay somewhere for several days we like to unpack and that takes more than 3 drawers. The artwork in the rooms was interesting. In most hotels it is calming and often a little boring. This was not boring nor calming 😂 I would recommend this hotel.

It's a pretty nice hotel, with a pool, breakfast, waterslide and a lot of rooms. Looks good in the rooms and on the outside. Was a pretty nice experience and had comfortable couches and chairs to sit on while you wait to be checked in. The beds and other stuff was comfortable. My only problem was how busy the pool + hot tub is. Recommend for other people.

Nice hotel, but the customer service is terrible. No one can give you a strait answer on anything. And the restaurant staff prefer to sit, talk, and eat with each other than actually serve you. I had much higher expectations.

Enjoyed our stay...would have given 5 star but they gave us accessibility room which we did not booked. Staff told me that I did and had to argue and show my reservation confirmation. Then they told me excuses that my profile had accessibility room as my preference which I did not understand. Told them I want different room, then they told me that they are fully booked. Only room available is two queen beds but had to change room following day....I was displeased with their answers and would like to cancel our reservation if they cannot provide our request. Then, they said they have a room with what we requested and don't have to change room at all. Room was good and we enjoyed our stay but why they didn't do it in the first place...why giving excuses that they are fully booked. So unprofessional...trying to give out unpopular rooms first. They should honor our original reservation in the first place. Free coffee and tea in the morning was very helpful.

THIS AREA IS INSECURE! Stay with precaution. (Notice, location has "0" stars) We had a bad experience at this hotel, we stayed there because people told us this area was new and it was safe, however, this couldn't be more far from reality, most because of our car windows being smashed overnight, but the worst, as it seems to be everywhere is the insecurity in this area, and the poor response from the hotel management or authorities. We weren't told the area behind the hotel is considered as "low income," which from the people at the lobby seems to be synomin of crime. They failed to tell us not to park in the back of the hotel or not to leave anything at sight inside the automobile. 3 other trucks were left with the windows smashed in one week, not just us. Also, another time, se were about to leave early morning 6am, but we couldn't exit the hotel by the doors on the side or back of the building because "someone" blocked the exit doors of the hotel with heavy wood beams and wooden pallets. And, another strange thing that happened to us, someone left a bag in between the door and the doorframe, one of the side exit doors, to keep it open. So anyone could get inside the building, again, this around 6am. So, there are many things here that make us feel this place is insecure, so we decided to leave and stay in another hotel farther to the north. The food from the restaurant is good, we had breakfast and room service one day. Rooms are clean with an estrange smell, but nothing that could potentially make us feel uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Four Points. Clean rooms. Comfortable. They accomodated us with parking that allowed for our 16’ cargo trailer. We ate in the lounge. The food was good. The service in the lounge was excellent.

I am very disappointed with the hotel front staff/reservations some how a staff member canceled my accessibility accommodations for my room reservation. Now the desk staff got me some aids to help me but they still made everything very difficult and more effort was needed to do daily things like shower and using toilet. The washroom was not accessible and made manoeuvring very difficult.

Holiday Inn & Suites Winnipeg-Downtown is an IHG Hotel, which means its guest rooms offer a modern design with features like 37-inch flat-panel satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi. It's located near cultural attractions, including the Winnipeg Convention Center, and it also has an indoor pool and fitness center. The Peppermill Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, room service is also available, and guests can enjoy a city view from most of the rooms.
For an area that is supposed to be terrible within Winnipeg, this hotel has been amazing! Staff are incredible and kind, always accommodating every request without question. Me and my mother got up at 12:30pm, long after they stopped serving breakfast, and they still reopened the kitchen to make us food before we left for the day. On top of that, the rooms are gorgeous and well taken care of. Even with all the construction going on they have maintained amazing service and comfortability. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on my trip.

I stayed here with my 10-year-old son for a playoff watch party, picking this location because it was close to the Canada Life Centre and had a pool and breakfast included. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. No Pool Access, No Heads-Up: The pool was closed and no one mentioned it beforehand — not during booking, not at check-in. That was a big reason we chose this hotel, and we felt misled. Breakfast Confusion: I prepaid for breakfast through Expedia, but at check-in I was handed a menu with prices. Staff were confused I had even booked it. The food was poor quality and definitely not worth the price. Unsafe Atmosphere: There were people loitering and smoking weed and cigarettes right at the entrance. Security was on-site but did nothing except stop them from entering. My son felt unsafe, and so did I. Not a family-friendly environment. Poor Communication & Slow Elevators: The second set of entrance doors requires a room key 24/7, but no one told us. There’s a small sign tucked to the side, but it was easy to miss. Only two elevators, both extremely slow and often shared with housekeeping carts full of dirty linens. Parking Felt Risky: The parking lot is exposed and barely monitored. While my car was fine, broken glass showed someone else wasn’t so lucky. Room Was Decent, But Not Perfect: The room was bright and mostly clean, but the floor had long hairs from a previous guest. The beds were comfortable, and maintenance was quick to fix our TV. Bottom Line: Between the lack of transparency, unsafe surroundings, and poor communication, I wouldn’t recommend this place for families. Once renovations are done and management tightens things up, maybe it’ll improve — but right now, I wouldn’t return.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my recent stay at Holiday Inn Downtown Winnipeg was so awful that I feel like I have to warn others. From the moment I walked in, I knew something was off. The front desk staff looked like they’d rather be anywhere else. No smile, no greeting, no information — just handed me the room key like I was an inconvenience. I asked a simple question about parking, and the response was short and borderline rude. When I got to the room, it honestly looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was a strong musty odor that hit me immediately. The carpet was dirty and stained, and the bedding looked wrinkled and suspicious — not something you want to sleep on. The bathroom was the worst part: mold in the shower, hair on the sink, and a toilet that barely flushed. I was disgusted. Trying to sleep was impossible. The walls are paper thin — I could hear full conversations from the room next door and loud hallway noise all night. There was also a lot of noise from the street outside, and the windows did nothing to block it out. The area around the hotel didn’t feel safe either, especially after dark. I was nervous even going out to grab food. I brought up my concerns to the front desk the next morning, and they couldn’t have cared less. No apology, no offer to switch rooms, no compensation. Just blank stares and a half-hearted “we’ll let housekeeping know.” What kind of service is that? This stay felt like a complete waste of money. It’s shocking that this place carries the Holiday Inn name. I’ve stayed in budget motels that were cleaner, friendlier, and safer than this. Do yourself a huge favor — don’t stay here. There are better hotels in Winnipeg, even nearby, that will treat you with respect and provide a basic standard of cleanliness.

I was here for a conference. When I checked in, I did not realize that the hotel was under renovation. None of the amenities were available. However, the staff was extremely accommodating and was able to get me access to the nearby Radisson Hotel to use their fitness facility. Breakfast at this time was a la carte and you can order it front desk in the morning. The quality of the breakfast was good. I was given a room on the top floor of the hotel which was a one bedroom suite. I really liked that decor. It was fresh, new, and most importantly functional. One potential improvement in the future is perhaps the windows. They do not shield you from the street noise and it is quite noisy in the evenings and early hours of the morning. A set of ear plugs would be advised. I was able to communicate with the manager and she was extremely helpful and attentive. I get the feeling that this hotel is well managed. I look forward to coming back when it is fully renovated.

My stay was a letdown. Issues with room cleanliness, maintenance, and limited pool hours. Friendly staff, but communication breakdowns on room assignments and parking. Not worth the price.also abusive language in hotel lobby with evacuees

AVOID THIS HOTEL!! Reserved a Standard King room for the night. Called the hotel that morning to let them know that I wouldn't be checking in until late due to flight times. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was notified that the room I reserved was given away and all that they had was a queen. No apology and no reimbursement made as I had booked through a third party site and the customer service was terrible. I was offered free parking but did not have a vehicle. In addition, there were kids running through the halls until 2am making it impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. I called the front desk to complain just after midnight and then security was pounding on my door at 1am to ask what was wrong. Terrible experience overall!

Lovely modern room with plenty of space and a great view. Reception and restaurant staff were all really friendly and helpful. A real family atmosphere.
Gary L — Google review
It's not a good hotel to stay and definitely not safe. The security guards don't do anything and are on their phones, also i don't think the cameras are working. If youb report something o need help with they won't help you. We take the elevator and its soo scary, but also it smells really bad. I will never come and stay here again, also won't recommend to to my family and friends.

I am blown away by my experience with this hotel. The staff are so incredibly kind and helpful. Even with the smallest details. Room service is very fast and the food is delicious. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. But hands down, the shining star here is the incredible staff!!

I have been coming here very often and this is my 6th time here. I have never faced this issue before but here I am booking my room online through the Wyndham app where I am asked to add for any special requests. I added my request. Called in 3 days prior to confirm that it has been seen and it’s all good. Skip to day of check-in. The clerk blatantly lied to my face and said she doesn’t see any requests and she can’t help me. I asked her to downgrade me to fit my request but she wouldn’t budge. She also told me that I haven’t paid when I told her I did and it was a reservation made using the reward points. I work for a Wyndham Hotel too and I know how it works.

Comfortable, good-sized room. There is some aircraft noise. I had a bit of difficulty getting the front desk to answer the phone on a couple of separate occasions. One of those times, I went down to the reception. When I got there, two clerks were chatting among themselves, and there were no guests. They also provided incorrect information regarding shopping.
Michael R — Google review
We have stayed here many times however until some upgrades are made we won’t be back. We like the location even if we’re not flying as it is in the part of the city we like. We stayed earlier this spring and the toilet wasn’t working properly which we didn’t discover until after we were settled in for the night. Maintenance guy came up and the only thing needed to repair it was a new ballcock. There must be 200 toilets in that place you’d think having a few spare parts on hand would make sense. I have two toilets in my house and keep spare ballcocks on hand. They gave us a different room which was fine but annoying at bedtime. Our recent stay on May 26 the room we had was clean and beds were comfortable although no fitted sheets meant by morning they were almost on the floor. The electronics in the room were a joke I will include a pic of the alarm clock which had a charge port for the first iPhones made. Not many of them still in use. There was about twenty extra feet of wire for the phone on the desk just in a big ball. The finish on the desktop was worn down to the bare wood. The chair at the desk was so worn out it didn’t feel safe to sit on and was very uncomfortable. There were very few electrical outlets and the ones by the beds were behind the night tables that were attached to the wall. I had to lay on the floor and squeeze my hand behind it to get a spot to plug in my CPAP machine. Overall the best things are the location and breakfast in the restaurant was very good.
Popbil — Google review
Great location. Right by airport if you are flying in or like we have used it to stay when we go fishing in Canada. Drive up one day, spend the night at hotel, then drive to lodge or place we are being picked up and flown out from the next.
Sten O — Google review
For the price you pay for this hotel they should keep them clean, dust at the head of the bed, open chocolate inside the minibar, hair in the shower, lack of maintenance, the elevator out of service. It's a robbery.Just because is close to the airport.

Clean, well-maintained rooms with classic carpeted décor. The air quality is excellent, and the HVAC keeps the temperature comfortable while staying impressively quiet.

Winnipeg Holiday offers a great experience with incredible service and a warm, hospitable host. The area is still developing, so amenities like convenient stores and grocery stores are currently limited. However, as the community grows, this is expected to change. The rooms are clean, pleasant, and affordably priced. The location is central, making it a great choice for an Airbnb stay in Winnipeg.
Was different then an actual hotel. I enjoyed it. The loud ruckus from neighbors who may have been intoxicated was abit frustrating but overall it's ok
Tony M — Google review
Worst place ever I’ve seen in my life, I please request everyone to see the reviews first and than book, the moment we enter the place it was horrifying and dirty , no facilities were provided and it was a total scam 😡
Khushali T — Google review
Everything is clean especially room with Cozy mattress and clean sheets
Ndayiramya T — Google review
This is not a hotel, it is more like a cross between an airbnb and a hostel. That being said: The owner is friendly the room was nice and clean, the location is decent. There's one shared bathroom between the three rooms on the upper floor and they do not provide towels, so keep that in mind.
MrDanMan30 — Google review
This Place doesn’t even provide clean towels, second night they locked the door on us as creating a big inconvenience to get into the place, the washroom was pretty dirty. Wouldn’t recommend! I’d pay the extra few bucks and stay somewhere better next time.
Hina N — Google review
This house is a multi level dwelling that the host has set up as an airbandb. There’s several separate rooms that he may give you for the cost. They are nice, but may not be air conditioned (fortunately he was able to turn it on to cool the room off) there’s one shared bathroom between the three or four rooms/units. This isn’t a hotel, so don’t be misguided by the photos or description. This was a surprise to me when I arrived as it’s a residential area and not a hotel. Paul is nice and accommodating and I recommend the reasonable rate and neighborhood to anyone. The breweries, dining, and parks are great! Paul was responsive and helpful with the air conditioning situation. Would come back for sure!
Jack L — Google review
Only stayed here for a night. Arrived late due to travel delays, was able to contact the staff throughout the day to check in. Made me feel like an inconvenience for arriving late. The room was clean and neat but had a urine smell which was quite unpleasant.
Sidney T — Google review
The place is amazing, the service was incredible a very nice hostess and the area is still under development. The only issue is there isn't any convenient stores or grocery stores close by. But that will change as the area grows as a community so it won't be an issue much longer I'm sure. Well done

La Cabane Guesthouse is a popular backpackers hostel located in the old French Quarter of Winnipeg. It offers budget dorm rooms, shared lounges, and a kitchen, creating a laid-back atmosphere where travelers can relax and connect with others. The neighborhood is rich in history, coffee shops, and museums. The guesthouse provides clean accommodations with privacy cubicles featuring curtains and sockets at the head of each bed.
This is the BEST house rental in the city. Located in St. Boniface you are close to so many great restaurants and bars. Lots of space for private parking and additional street parking if needed. The house has tons of space and is so cutely decorated. We rented it for my friend's bachelorette, and it was perfect. Oh and the beds are so comfortable, I slept so well!!
Katie D — Google review
A beautiful, warm, welcoming little Hostel in great location. The hostel really does feel like a home, it was always impeccably clean and great breakfast is served every morning. Dominique, the owner, went out of her way to make my stay more enjoyable and helped me out wherever she could. I have been travelling for a long time and this is easily one of the best places I ever encountered - I ended up staying three weeks. Would definitely recommend to every traveller coming through Winnipeg.
Lukas R — Google review
Stayed in 4 months worth of hostels and this by far my favourite. The owner is an absolute legend, she is the sweetest chick ever and coolest host. She recently renovated the place perfectly and has a chill vibe. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area again.
Lachlan J — Google review
Ok so, this is a converted home into a hostel, it has a private bathroom, and the the bedrooms are privacy cubicles, with a privacy curtain and sockets at the head of the bed, it also has lockers as well. The staff were unbelievably accommodating and friendly! They even invited me to have dinner and wine before I left. I think the warm welcome of the staff and owner were by far the best part of this experience. It features a full kitchen and a full sitting room which is being used as a common room, it has a range of books, a guitar and a tv. The WiFi is free and fast and has a free breakfast every morning which is usually pancakes or granola yoghurt with coffee and tea. It’s rare to find a hostel like this, I’ve travelled extensively and never had such a warm welcome! I will certainly be back here. ☺️🤘🏽💜

Awesome little hostal just in the right location, what's great about how small it is, is that you talk more often with people, warm vibe to the place, nice and relaxing, it's got all the essentials that you need to survive and is what I would say an awesome place to stay. Would highly reccomend to others thinking about staying.

Absolutely amazing hostel with an even better host. Dominique deserves the 9.9 (!!!) she gets on hostelworld. Goes above and beyond to make sure you've got everything you need and makes a killer breakfast in the morning too!

The Columns Bed & Breakfast is a charming 1906 mansion located in Wolseley, offering elegant rooms with historic features and complimentary WiFi. Situated within walking distance of trendy bars, restaurants, and shops, this B&B provides a cozy stay with four bedrooms, laundry facilities, a sun deck, and a garden. Guests praise the friendly hosts who serve delicious breakfasts and maintain a beautiful old house.
Very beautiful heritage home. Feels extremely fancy. Big common areas with lots of stuff to do (board games, karaoke etc). The bathroom was really luxurious too. New owners seemed to have a good vision for the place. Super friendly and caring and hospitable. Really, the level of hospitality here was EXTRA. Heads up that there are some renos underway. My only issue was that the stairs were in need of repair and thus too loud to use at night without waking other guests up. However, it appeared to be in the middle of getting fixed, so will likely be a non-issue by the time this is read.
Arian S — Google review
Great place, the owners were super accommodating every time we came or went they checked in to make sure we had what we needed and were having a pleasant stay. The room was cozy and well stocked. The place was being renovated when we were there but the rec/games room was mostly done.
Travis F — Google review
We had a wonderful stay. Josh was a friendly host who can make some tasty breakfasts. The house is very beautiful and in a nice, old neighbourhood. The location is close to downtown so most places in the city are an easy drive away. The room we had (Henry Moore) had its own small balcony where we could relax. The price is similar to a downtown hotel but the atmosphere is much more relaxing. Our room did not ventilate well so it was stuffy in the heat. The only thing stopping it from a full 5 stars. I highly recommend The Columns whenever you are in Winnipeg.
Ehbuller — Google review
We have stayed at The Columns multiple times over the last few years. Every stay has been absolutely wonderful. The rooms are always clean and well maintained despite the age of the house, the amenities are excellent, and the overall ambiance of the old house is rich and inviting. The breakfasts are top-notch quality every time - my wife works for a gourmet food store so our standards are pretty high, and we have never been disappointed. Visiting with the owners is always enjoyable as well. Every stay has been memorable, and we can't wait to come again.

Wonderful bed and breakfast with even lovelier hosts! Great place to feel welcome, feel cozy, as if you're at home away from home. The estate is beautiful with a big backyard facing the river. Morning breakfast is delicious and very filling too! Within walking distance to many restaurants too. If you like morning hikes, there's a trail by the backyard. Would definitely come back!
