Specialty Museums
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is a modern museum that focuses on both Canadian and international human rights issues. Located in Winnipeg, it is one of the city's many attractions, offering visitors a unique experience with its striking architecture. The building features a glass cloud facade, a Tower of Hope spire, and massive limestone roots that symbolize the journey towards universal human rights.
It's important that Canada has a Museum for Human Rights given its international reputation and values of respecting human rights and advocating for peace and non-violence. The museum itself is very modern, well-sectioned, adequately staffed and has all the amenities you'd expect of such a world class facility. The exhibits are also very well organized, and impactful in making you stop, observe, think, feel, absorb and reflect on what you've just experienced. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the hands down the museum where I stayed the most and stopped the longest in front of a display. Visiting this museum should be on everyone list.
Sam J — Google review
Human Rights museums are always a heavy experience, but also incredibly important to visit. This museum did a good job covering a variety of historical events and cultures, but I also thought there was maybe a bit too much open space on each floor. Maybe it would have felt less empty if it had been a busier day, but I left feeling like they could have added a lot more considering the available space. Still well worth the visit, but probably a museum I wouldn’t go back to.
Jenna J — Google review
This museum should always be a must visit if you are in Canada. It contains so much relevant information about the current situation and recent history of humanity, that it takes a good 3-4 hours to explore properly. The building itself is worth the ticket. The views of the city from the Tower of Hope and the walk down along the different levels are fantastic. I just wished they included the option of paying for parking with the visit.
Pablo ( — Google review
A very informative and interesting museum. The whole layout was exceptionally good. The timeline in the first exhibit is spectacular. So much thought has been put into the architecture, film footage, information and moving from one section to another. There are gradual slopes up to each level lit by alabaster walls which allows one to reflect as they get to the next level. Highly recommend.
Victoria — Google review
One of the best museums I’ve ever been to… Incredibly engaging, profound and architecturally amazing. Bravo to the curator and to Canada for knocking out of the park. We were only there 2 1/2 hours, but we easily could’ve spent all day.
David L — Google review
Worth a visit. Make sure to plan to spend a good enough time here, there's much to see and learn. Every floor is sure to offer a learning experience. If you get hungry, there is a coffee shop at the top floor or the cafe down in the first level that was really good!
Meri J — Google review
Very educational with beautiful displays of historical precedents to help understand our difficult path to todays society. The museum is also an architectural marvel in many ways. A must visit in Winnipeg

The Manitoba Museum is a large museum featuring exhibits on planetary and human history, including bones, dioramas, and a planetarium. The museum's galleries highlight the connection between people and the natural environment in Manitoba through artifacts, written and audio information, interactive displays, and dioramas. Visitors can explore Manitoba's distinct ecosystems such as Arctic/Sub-Arctic, Boreal Forest, Parklands, and Grasslands.
Loved the museum!! The science gallery was fun and did lots of activities. The museum was pretty big you can see so many history sculptures if you wanna post story's on insta the photos here came out boom! We spend around more than 4 hours here and didn't even feel that time went so fast. If u wanna spend time with your loved ones this is the best place really loved.
TV A — Google review
This is a wonderful place to learn about Canada history and nature. Although the museum is under construction, it’s still open. The museum is huge, took us almost 2 hours to complete the tour, there is a short animated show for your kids to learn about the ocean and solar system.
Nam T — Google review
Had the opportunity to explore Winnipeg and the Manitoba Museum came highly recommended so I checked it out. I do think I may have come on a bad day because there was a wedding of some sort and people everywhere, which made it a little difficult to navigate. There also seemed to be a bit of renovations happening so I got a little lost. But once I found my way to the exhibits, I had a lot of fun. There was a lot to look at and some really incredible displays. Despite it being a weekend, it was pretty quiet, which was probably a lucky break. It made the experience a lot more relaxing. I was a tad disappointed with the planetarium show. I’m not sure if they do a kids and adult version, but the show I saw was definitely catered to children and was actually more about the ocean than space. As an astronomy enthusiast I was hoping to see stars. Overall, I’m very glad I went, and can see why it was recommended by so many people. I would love to go back once the renovations are done and there isn’t such chaos with the very large wedding party.
Jenna J — Google review
It was under renovation when we got there. The planetarium show just started so we missed the one for the planets and stars. The overall experience was great. Clean interactive. Just not very appealing going through the front entrance. We got to see Nonsuch during this visit, the kids enjoyed it. We definitely need more time as we didn't get to roam the Winnipeg section. The scavenger hunt made it interesting for the kids. We just didn't know where to drop off the completed form since it was closing time and they closed the customer service area to prepare for a wedding event. Will visit again, hope to see the outcome of the renovation.

The Manitoba Museum is located at 190 Rupert Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0N2. It's the largest not-for-profit heritage and science centre in Manitoba. The museum features nine award-winning galleries, a planetarium, and a science gallery, showcasing both human and natural history. This is worth a visit. Lot's of history!!!
Coucai — Google review
This place is amazingly interactive for people of all ages. Never seen a museum put so much effort to tell the history like this. Then comes the science building filled with so many interesting inventions and concepts. A young person will be amazed and intrigued by them while an adult person will relive new dreams and possibilities in this life. Planetarium is a cool addition too. It tells how our solar system functions in an amazing environment. This is by far the best place to go in Winnipeg. Hope you guys enjoy it as well.
M P — Google review
Seeing the Nonsuch was the highlight! Even under renovation (think the fees are reduced as it was very inexpensive) this museum is a good stop. Great Indigenous art collection as well!
Dana O — Google review
Great place to see the history of Manitoba, Winnipeg and earth. Easy to follow the paths of galleries. With all the exhibits available you will at least need more than half a day to spend. The ship "Nonsuch" is the main attraction. And they built a museum after the ship was placed. Easy access by public transport. Open 7 days

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a significant museum housing an extensive collection of European paintings, contemporary artwork, and Inuit sculptures. One of its highlights is Qaumajuq, an extension featuring the largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art globally. The space showcases modern-day and historic carvings in a captivating circular, multi-layered glass display. Visitors can freely explore the installation in the WAG's lobby and engage with an interactive display providing detailed information about the art pieces.
Had an amazing experience here. The diversity between the different exhibits and the friendliness of the staff will have us back next time we’re in town. There’s a lot of amazing things to see and buy in the gift shop as well as a fantastic collection of prints and originals available for purchase. The carvings in the main foyer could keep you occupied for hours alone
Cory K — Google review
Fantastic gallery! The architecture is enriching and there is ABSOLUTE JOY in surrounding oneself in Inuit art. It is a creative gallery and you will want to stop at the outstanding boutique that promotes national artists. The staff is very welcoming too.

We attended the Candlelight concert in Winnipeg twice, and both experiences were absolutely wonderful. The music was performed with so much passion and elegance that it created a truly magical and romantic atmosphere. The candlelit setting made everything feel warm and unforgettable. It's definitely an event we would love to experience again.
Bohdan S — Google review
The Winnipeg Art gallery is well worth the hour or two visit needed to check out its collection. The indigenous collection is just fantastic and I love the works that they presented. The permanent collection is small but very very interesting. Parking is limited but you can find some spots on the street. Dropping by on a Thursday afternoon felt like a private visit. I don't think you'll find a better variety and number of soapstone carvings anywhere else in the world.
Richard W — Google review
I was there for an unveiling of a Red Dress tribute to the MMIWG2S movement. The location of rhe event and the space were more than sufficient for what it was needed for. Washroom was clean and easily accessible. The only reason I gave it this low of a rating is because they had a wedding event going on as well, and we were asked to leave by the side or back entrance. 😳 Seriously!?! So when you walk in the front entrance, you end up walking through the back of the seating area designated for the wedding guests and party. I felt like I was crashing a wedding. Not how I would want my wedding day to be remembered by. As a bride, I would have been upset and embarrassed to have to share my wedding space with another event being held in the same building like that. Surely there has to be a better way so that both events are able to be kept separate from each other, as to avoid disruption of a speech or special dance, which both events had. The sound could be heard on both sides. Unacceptable.
Elsie C — Google review
Beautiful space. Great collection. Interestingly curated special exhibits (Spilling the Tea was great!). Could be made easier to navigate - better map and/or signage. But well worth visiting.
Dee M — Google review
small painting collection with some gems. superlative indiginous Canadian sculptures and a fantastic gift shop. The small cafe has excellent food and super-friendly staff!!!
J L — Google review
This place just felt like a dream. I would recommend going along with the person who is interested in art as well. Because it does take time to enjoy the carvings and description without any hassle of running here and there This place has 4 floors, each filled with unique elements. And also have a nice little Cafe. Staff is super friendly and kids does enjoy their painting lessons as well.

Established in 1904, Assiniboine Park Zoo is a prominent attraction located in Winnipeg, near the southern border of Manitoba. The zoo spans 80 acres and houses over 200 animal species from around the world. One of its main highlights is the award-winning Journey to Churchill exhibit, which opened in 2014.
I recently visited Assiniboine Park Zoo, and overall it was a good experience, especially if you go with friends or family. The zoo itself is nice, but I’d say it’s more enjoyable when you have good company to share it with. The highlight for me was seeing a polar bear relaxing and it was amazing to be able to watch such a majestic animal up close. The indoor aquarium was also fun. It mainly had seals swimming around, which was still entertaining, though I had hoped to see more polar bears there. We also got to see a horse up close, a beautiful tiger, kangaroos, and quite a few peacocks roaming around, which added some charm. Some animals, like the pandas and foxes, weren’t visible that day, which was a little disappointing, but I know that can happen with any zoo visit. Overall, it’s a nice place to spend a few hours and enjoy some unique animal encounters. Just go in with the mindset that you might not see every animal, and you’ll still have a pleasant time.
Jasleen K — Google review
I had a wonderful experience visiting the Assiniboine Park Zoo! The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of green spaces and walking paths that make the visit enjoyable and relaxing. The animal habitats are spacious and thoughtfully designed, which really shows the zoo's commitment to animal care and conservation. The highlight for me was seeing the polar bears swimming and playing, it was truly unforgettable! I also loved the diversity of animals, from majestic tigers to playful monkeys, each encounter was special. The staff were warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The educational exhibits are engaging and perfect for visitors of all ages, making it a fantastic place for families, couples or anyone who enjoys connecting with nature and wildlife. Overall, the zoo offers a unique and memorable experience in Winnipeg and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
Marie — Google review
It is certainly a priviledge to observe the polar bears diving from the underwater tunnel. Just for this unique experience is worth paying the ticket. It is an easy to move around zoo with a few cafes. We stopped for lunch at the restaurant in the Visit to Churchill area, from which the polar bears can be seeing roaming their enclosure. Lots of information displays and friendly volunteers along the different routes. The shop is also very good with fair prices. For some reason buying the tickets online is cheaper than at the entrance kiosks, so I recommend to do so.
Pablo ( — Google review
The Assiniboine Park Zoo is a wondrous location for both tourists and locals alike; there are so many beautiful creatures for every visitor to observe. I’d recommend visiting in the summer as it can get cold up in Manitoba. The zoo has great service and is easy to access, and there are wheelchairs available for visitors. There are many exhibits, and while I wasn’t able to see them all, one of my favorites was the seal exhibit. There was a concerned gopher that I met while walking there, which contributed to the overall experience. There is a bird exhibit with many pulchritudinous species, and a goat area where the employee who works there is very kind and is happy to share information about the goats. While I wasn’t able to see the journey to Churchill exhibit, I heard from other visitors that it was a magical experience. There is also a cafe with options for dietary restrictions and drinks. Assiniboine was a wonderful time.
Google G — Google review
the zoo is a super awesome place to spend your time in the summer, they have lots of exhibits with cool animals and they do lots of different events with the animals as well. They have cool indoor exhibits as well such as the tropical one which has huge tropical trees and animals such as snakes and cool birds. They also have another indoor exhibit with smaller animals such as turtles and sloths (which is a newer animal added to the zoo). There is lots of food options available like snack shacks, food trucks, and an actual restaurant located in the zoo park. They also have a great gift shop that sells lots of winnipeg themed items which is very nice for travellers. I would recommend buying tickets online in advance because you save 10% on your tickets! overall the zoo is a ton of fun and is a great way to spend any day!
Kailey F — Google review
This is a nice zoo. It has a fantastic exhibit on animals from Northern Manitoba, and the polar bear exhibit in specific is a highlight with the underwater tunnels allowing visitors to see the bears swimming around them. Toucan Ridge has some animas from warmer climates, and there is a large grasslands section as well. The zoo does not have animals such as elephants, giraffes, or lions, but this is understandable given the smaller size of the zoo and the harsh climate. If you visit on a weekday in fall, winter, or spring, you will almost have the zoo to yourself. It does get very busy in the summer, especially on weekends and holidays.
Brian H — Google review
Such a good zoo and attraction in the city I love seeing the bears and the animals, I didn’t have the chance to see them swimming but the experience was great. I’d recommend to Buy the tickets online as they are like $2 cheaper but if you rather to get them in person there is a kiosk and screens. I visited on Thanksgiving Day and there was no crowds so it was nice to walk around the zoo.
Juan G — Google review
Fantastic place, the polar bear enclosure is very roomy and has multiple areas and biomes for the bears too so whatever they like in. I hope more exhibits follow suit but most are at LEAST "pretty good". Good place, helps with research, lots to see. Highly recommended.

FortWhyte Alive, a 640-acre urban wilderness oasis in Manitoba's capital city, offers a plethora of outdoor activities such as fishing, paddling, snowshoeing, ice skating, skiing, and tobogganing. Visitors can explore the diverse wildlife including bison, whitetail deer, reptiles, muskrats and over 160 bird species. The park also features cultural and historical exhibits along with a farm and restaurant.
I highly recommend this place! My husband and I have visited four times, three of which were to enjoy the stunning sunsets and watch the geese. The park is beautifully organized and impeccably clean, making it a wonderful spot to connect with nature. The volunteers are amazing! Now that we have a membership, we plan to spend our Saturdays there. The only downside is the early closing time during the week, which makes it difficult for us to visit after work. Nonetheless, we’re excited to enjoy our Saturdays there!

I went to the sunset goose flight at Fort Whyte Alive. There was an indoor presentation that was very informative about geese migration. Beautiful trails throughout the marshland also!! Plus a restaurant and very nice gift shop inside. Worth a visit!👏🏻👏🏻

Wonderful wild space for plants and animals! There are bison bison bison. There are many birds. There are even more mosquitoes. You can rent bicycles and binoculars. It's a good time!

One of the best things Winnipeg has to offer! From the birds and bison, to the gift shop, cafe, interpretive center and all it’s amazing programs, workers and volunteers; it’s nirvana. Cheap too for a day of outdoor education and serenity! Or free if your like me and walk/bike in!! I could go on for pages about how special this place is. If I could give more than 5 ⭐️, it would be infinitely (and still not enough). This is literally my happiest place on earth. ☀️🌲

Awesome trails and lots of greenery. Good place for watching goose, ducks and other animals and a lot of history. Bison viewing is available. Great place to spend weekends and watch sunset. the museum has a lot of taxidermy stuff of owls, bears, bison, deer, cougar, foxes and so on. Entry tickets for two is about $21 dollars if you are not a member. It is worth it.

Amazing place to go. Need a break to have a mental reset, go on the water in a kayak? Look no further. My favourite nature place in Winnipeg, a must to go to when visiting Winnipeg in any season!
Amanda S — Google review
Visited here in the winter to try out snowshoeing. We rented from them and also brought our own snowshoes. It was fun going on their trails and on the frozen-over ponds and lakes. We even encountered a couple of deer in their forest trail. After snowshoeing we spent time on theit toboggan run. They have large toboggans on-site and these are free to use once you are already in the park. Of course, it's always nice seeing the bison enclosure. They also have a shop, cafe and a small museum.

The Manitoba Legislative Building, constructed in 1920, is a neoclassical government building that serves as the home of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Designed by Frank Worthington Simon, it features impressive architecture including massive columns, intricate carvings, and a majestic dome. The exterior is adorned with various works of art representing wisdom, justice, and courage. The building also houses the Manitoba Legislative Museum and is recognized for the Golden Boy statue atop its dome symbolizing progress.
Awesome positive vibes, from the rally that happened yesterday, from the singers to the dancers, to the speeches all the way around positive vibes can’t get any better than that.

Great heritage building. I enjoy a guided tour inside which is free. Lots of information. A must to go to know more about Manitoba. Great park around. Friendly staff.
WK — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of visiting on a Saturday afternoon in mid-July and was pleasantly surprised to find that we lucked into a tour. The grounds were pretty deserted of any humanity, yet the foyer of building was buzzing with, like, 3 security guards per tourist. Anyway, despite it being a weekend, grateful the building was open, allowing us to explore this architectural gem. The 45-minute tour was incredibly thorough, providing a deep dive into the building's fascinating history. We learned about the intriguing scandal associated with its construction, the origins of the stone and marble, and the rich symbolism behind the numerous sculptures and reliefs. This building truly stands as a temple to Parliamentary democracy, and the attention to detail in its design is captivating. Overall, the experience was enlightening and memorable, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history, architecture, or politics. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this tour is a must-see for a deeper understanding of Manitoba's heritage and governance.
Graeme M — Google review
My friend and I visited the Manitoba Legislative Building, but unfortunately, due to a system error, his Ontario driver’s license was flagged as invalid. He didn’t have another piece of ID with him, and at first they treated it like a possible scam. Because of this, we weren’t able to join the tour right away, even though he’s an Ontario citizen and I’m from British Columbia. Later, when I called him back to join, the staff admitted the issue was in their system. While I appreciate the eventual apology, the situation spoiled part of our visit. It’s a government building, and citizens should be able to enjoy it without unnecessary stress. Disappointing at first, but I’m glad they made it right in the end.

Please note that this building is not always open to the public to walk around without being a part of a guided tour during open hours. A man entered who was very upset at the lack of public washrooms for those not on a tour.

Amily is hands down the best guide we’ve had—she turned our visit to the Winnipeg Legislative Building into the brightest highlight of our Winnipeg trip, and we’re thrilled to give her 5 stars! We visited here today 11:00, 8/22/2025. As Chinese travelers with only basic English, we were a little nervous about following a tour. But Amily immediately put us at ease: she slowed down her speech so we could keep up, and used simple, fun language to share detailed, interesting stories about every corner of the building—from its architecture to its history, nothing felt confusing or rushed. What made it even more special? She took the time to lead us to all the key, photo-worthy spots and offered to take pictures for us, making sure we had beautiful memories to take home. Her patience, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm for sharing the building’s charm were incredible. This tour wasn’t just informative—it was warm and unforgettable, all thanks to Emily. We can’t thank Miss Emily enough for making our day so wonderful. If you’re visiting the Winnipeg Legislative Building, don’t miss a tour with her—she’s a gem! 10/10, 100% recommended!

A beautiful spot in the heart of Winnipeg where one can roam the grounds. Accessible by Broadway St and the River Walk. The architecture is neo classical topped off with the famous Golden Boy statue. Great to go check out anytime of year.

The Royal Canadian Mint, located in Winnipeg near the southern border of the province, is one of two national mints in Canada. Visitors can take tours and explore exhibits to learn about the coin manufacturing process. Winnipeg itself offers a variety of attractions including the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The city also hosts annual festivals such as Festival du Voyageur in February and the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba in summer.
We toured the mint for my Birthday. I’m so glad I finally got to see inside. Everyone needs to go atleast once in their life. Tour tickets are affordable, our guide was funny and very informative. They have activities for kids on the main floor so plan for spending extra time just browsing the gift shop and exploring.

Cade was a great tour guide who was super well informed!! Great facility! Highly recommend bringing extra loonies to get a silver coined stamped with the Mint on it. No photos allowed once on tour but so much information to take in.

I'm not sure what was the holdup situation for me, I never visited this place before living all these years in Winnipeg. Went for the first time on my b'day to buy some commemorative coins for myself and maybe a tour even if possible. Had to be the best thing I did for myself all day. This place is so peaceful yet cool to explore if you share the curiosity. Employees here are jolly and helpful. Especially Alex and Cade made the experience even more charming. Will definitely visit soon, even to thank the employee behind desk whom I was unable to catch a name of but guided me towards the coin I came there for.

I think everyone should visit the Royal Canadian Mint to explore the rich history of coin-making in Canada. The guided tour is well-organized, and the guide explained everything clearly and with enthusiasm. The entry fee is just $12 CAD per person, and it’s definitely worth it!. There’s also a gift store inside with unique coins and collectibles. If you’re planning to visit, weekdays are much more peaceful and perfect for a relaxed tour.

A great visit if you want to know about the production of coins they mint coins for many nations. We were lucky to go on a quiet day with only one other couple so we were able to ask lots of questions of our guide. He was knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend buying tickets beforehand as it can get very busy there in the hight of the season.

Cade was an absolutely wonderful guide. We learned so much from him about the mint. I have been back a couple times and intend to return again. I know have a huge interest in coins once again. Thank you Cade.

Assiniboine Park is one of Winnipeg's largest parks, offering a variety of attractions such as a zoo, conservatory, outdoor theatre, and play equipment. It's an ideal spot for picnics with its wide-open fields and wooded areas. The park hosts free concerts in the summer at the Lyric Theatre and features beautiful gardens. Visitors can also enjoy dining at the Qualico Family Centre's Park Cafe or explore art galleries and event spaces at the Tudor-style Pavilion.
Assiniboine Park is one of my absolute favorite spots for photos! The Pavilion is such an iconic backdrop, and the grounds are always beautifully maintained, no matter the season. Whether it’s golden hour by the gardens or a dreamy winter scene, there’s no shortage of stunning locations. It’s the perfect blend of nature and architecture, making it a go-to for portraits, engagements, and weddings. Always a must-visit!

Beautiful park with lots of attractions. Free and paid. Several sights for parking. Many different parks And many trails. Beautiful river lookouts and bridge. Pavilion is one place you can visit free of charge that includes information and free Winnie the Pooh museum and Art gallery Kids park nearby. I like the side gate. That's unique. The English theme park is beautiful with all the art works. Zoo and leaf are paid attractions.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Assiniboine Park on multiple occasions, and it’s become one of my favourite spots. The park’s size and variety of attractions mean there’s always something new to discover each time I visit. One of my first stops was The Leaf. Although it does have an entrance fee, the experience is well worth it. The vibrant plant displays and thoughtfully designed gardens create a stunning environment that’s both relaxing and invigorating. I spent hours enjoying the lush greenery and colourful blooms. On other visits, I explored areas of the park that are free to access. The English Garden and leo mol museum was particularly delightful, with its beautifully arranged flowers and serene atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for a leisurely walk or simply to sit and enjoy nature. The open grounds and picnic areas are great for a casual day out, offering plenty of space to relax, have a picnic, or play. While the Park Café and restaurant areas do have their own costs, they’re convenient for grabbing a bite to eat and enjoying the park’s lovely scenery. The Pavilion is where I enjoyed wandering around. Its charming architecture and peaceful surroundings added to the park’s overall appeal. Whether you’re exploring the paid attractions or enjoying the free areas, there’s something special to discover every time.

A local resident couldn't wait to take us here and I understand why she loves this park so much. The park is well maintained and the variety of plants is well planned for the most striking arrangements. All those who are considering a visit to Winnipeg should plan on visiting Assiniboine Park.

The park is home to aboriginal people for thousands of years and it's now a popular tourist destination. Throughout the year there are many events happening at the site that families can enjoy.
I’ve been riding the river trails for the past week. It sure beats going through downtown and the rough conditions of our roads and sidewalks. I have a bad habit of taking photos constantly as I already envision it before I capture it. It sure has changed drastically. I can’t believe how much homeless shelters are by the path heading West towards The Golden Boy. There’s even more after Osborne as well. It’s getting wild out there. Stay safe and keep on rolling through.

Absolutely beautiful place to enjoy the summers. The calmness of the Red river with the greeneries around is a cherry on cake. It's pretty close to the Forks Market and you can enjoy walking along the banks of the river or bir along the banks of the river. It's popularly called the heart of Winnipeg Downtown and it literally lives up to its popularity.
Kanchan K — Google review
Hands down, the Forks is the best place to visit in Winnipeg! Very romantic park setting and scenic along the Red River. In the summer, we took the guided boat tour which is inexpensive and about 90 minutes long. You'll see numerous musical shows on weekends. Temperatures that summer in July were about 82 degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter in November and March when it was 14 degrees (which is considered balmy here), the area which usually has events becomes an ice-skating rink and there's a small makeshift hockey rink across from it. The Forks Market was a pleasant surprise. Every lunch and dinner location we tried was delicious and fairly priced. The BEST croissants I've ever tasted are at the Tall Grass Prairie Bakery. Don't let the long line scare you as you'll be served within minutes. In my most recent stay, I was at the Inn at the Forks. It's very pricey, but worth it to get a great scenic view in the morning and is in the heart of the park. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Winnipeg. On a negative note, on my last night in 2020, I took some souvenir photos at midnight along the scenic river and was followed all the way back to the hotel by a meth addict who thought I was taking photos of him and yelling at me. I had to kick the guy out of the hotel as no one from the front desk wanted to get involved or call police. Sadly, there were some high profile events in 2022 of folks being beaten, stabbed and robbed in the Forks...and this occurred in daylight. I hope they will add cameras in the park that were lacking when I was last there. Because of the growing drug and crime issue in the area, I was going to give it a 4 star review instead of a 5. Hopefully, law enforcement will beef up their presence here because it really is a BEAUTIFUL place to be, regarding of the season. I hope the Forks will give you the same enjoyment and positive memories that it gave me and will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!

Upper Fort Garry Provincial Park, located in Winnipeg, is a unique combination of park, sculpture, and technology that showcases the history of a significant fur trading post. The park features the original fort gate dating back to the 1850s and offers green space for visitors to enjoy. Through strategically placed garden beds and an engraved wall of weathering steel, the park tells the story of its strategic importance in Manitoba's history.
Upper Fort Garry Park located just outside of the entrance of VIA Rail Station, Fort Garry Place Apartment Complex & The Grand Fort Garry Hotel maybe the most important landmark in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada... Certainly this location marks the first modern structures of European civilization to enter the area of the Red River and Assinaboian River valley in over three hundred years... Upper Fort Garry Park is a beautiful & well cared for landmark able to host entertainment on a stage platform for many people...

As a landscaping enthusiastic, I absolutely love this park. I love how it's a provincial park in an urban downtown setting. I love the fusion of the steel and the concrete and the planting and the trees. I love the light wall and how it plays music. A real gem by the river. Beautiful design, lots of little shops and restaurants. Every city should have a spot like this one. Steps away from city center, and feel like a total different universe. Specialty Museums
The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a top-notch facility housed in a 1930s hangar. With 22 aircraft and 14 immersive galleries, the museum showcases Canada's remarkable contributions to aviation. It serves as an ideal location due to Winnipeg's historical significance as a hub for trade and commerce. The museum also hosts special exhibitions such as 'Snoopy and the Red Baron,' celebrating the beloved Peanuts character's World War Flying Ace persona.
Heavens on Earth 🌎 for those who loves study Aerodynamics Engineering and little bit of History of WW I - II . The marvelous design of this museum gives you ample space for a two storey building and a large hanger in front to explore the aircraft variety of early 70 - '80s time models. The fascinating journey of aircraft evolution is very much in detail to learn from their documentary room on the ground floor. 1. Online advance booking should be your preference to avoid long wait time. 2. If carrying luggage cause obviously it's located just in front of the airport access so check in with the front desk to acquire a key-coin lock for your luggage to place. (I personally love 💕 their unique locking system). 3. If visiting with kids, don't forget to check their Snoopy special room. Your kids will love it and also the game zone next to the cafeteria. 4. Toddlers are allowed to sit in model helicopters and private seaplanes with guided instructors on the 2nd floor. 5. Adults can visit their ground model of Air Canada planes from the early era which definitely feels like time travel in the past to me. 6. Hands on experience at the wall of engineering to touch and feel the buttons, rims and lots more. 7. Cute little souvenir shop on your way to exit. 8. Entry and Exit gates are mobility accessible as well as fully functioned rest rooms to accommodate every needs. So book your tickets and have a journey to infinity and beyond ❤️

Small but interesting museum adjacent to the Winnipeg airport. Covers the history of aviation in that part of Canada. Quite a few interesting aircraft on display. Museum staff, who seem to be mainly volunteers, we're all extremely helpful and friendly. Worth arriving a couple of hours early for your flight. Public bus from downtown Winnipeg stops outside the door. Make sure you get off at the stop after the Airport terminal; i.e. as the bus is heading back into the city. It's a short walk from the museum to the airport terminal through the car park. Recommended.

The museum is pretty cool, there was more you that could interact with than I expected. They don’t sell/offer any food or beverage there at all, so make sure you have your own/won’t need. Brought my tween and teens, they all enjoyed it as well. There is a small playground area geared towards younger children. Worth the visit.

We were asked to set-up our Mirror Photo Booth for a two day event put on by Safeway, IGA and Sobeys- from the minute we arrived the event staff were amazing. They were incredibly organized, helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to make our set-up easy on both days. The venue is absolutely incredible- as a backdrop to any event I feel guests would be blown away! They even had extremely friendly volunteers who are not only super friendly but incredibly knowledgeable. If they saw a guest looking at a plane they would approach asking if they wanted more information often sharing some amazing stories. There are so many areas available to set-up different stations allowing for a super unique and almost romantic atmosphere. I can not recommend having your event here- big or small they know how to do it!!

For a plane buff it's a great place to visit. Some planes outside in the fresh air and jet exhaust! It's also a good place to spend an hour or two with kids. Several examples of interesting aircraft and artifacts. One of only two surviving examples of the experimental saucer-shaped Avrocar is in the museum hall. Visitors can climb in the cockpit simulator of a CF-1-1 Voodoo interceptor.

The Royal aviation Museum of Western Canada is located on 2088 Wellington Ave. and the grounds of the Richardson airport in Winnipeg. The museum is absolutely spectacular and features the history of aviation with a special focus on Western Canada. This museum, which opened in 1974, is situated on the grounds of the Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg. Previously known as the Western Canada Aviation Museum, in late 2014, Queen Elizabeth II granted permission for it to use the term “Royal” in its name. It opened at a new location in May 2022.

Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum, also known as the St. Boniface Museum, is located in the oldest building in Winnipeg, which was once a convent for the Grey Nuns. The museum showcases an extensive collection of artifacts that offer insights into the lives and culture of early Francophone and Métis communities in Manitoba. Visitors can explore exhibits dedicated to Louis Riel, a prominent Métis leader considered the father of Manitoba.
WOW! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, and lovely to visit with! The Museum did an amazing job showing the work of the Grey Nuns and the biography of Louis Riel. Definitely take time to watch the videos. Great gift shop too!.

Nice museum on French-Canadian history and the oldest wooden building in Western Canada, as far as I know. 1844 or so, I believe. Many artifacts from different periods including a lot on Louis Riel who is buried nearby at the Cathedral, along with many of his family members. Staff is always helpful and there's a small store with books, souvenirs, etc.
Albert R — Google review
I'm a Métis visitor from Calgary and this is my first time in Winnipeg. We came for a conference, not for sight seeing, but this museum was on my list of must see things. We only had time to come today, which was our last day in Winnipeg, but by the time we arrived the exhibit was closed. We were so lucky to have found Chloe, as she agreed to let us in to see the artifacts and then browse her gift shop, even though she had other places to be. She went above and beyond to make sure we were able to see the important pieces of our culture, and it meant a lot to us that she was willing to dedicate her own time. She did not even try to rush us, but gave us ample time with the Louis Riel collection and the gift shop. While the collection may be smaller than the original museum, we must preserve our artifacts as much as we can, and sometimes that means they will not be available for public viewing. It just means that we will have to book another trip to Winnipeg, particularly to Saint Boniface, to do further sight seeing of Métis culture. I cannot thank Chloe and the Saint Boniface Museum team enough for what they did for us today. Ps. The shop cat was a bonus, I am missing my cat at home and Dory (spelling?) provided me with a great joy that I've been missing for a few days.

Wow. I went here with no expectations at all and it ended up being a highlight of my trip to Winnipeg! Madelaine was our tour guide and we learned so much from her dynamic and casual tour! Highly recommend!
Antera N — Google review
I went to the St Boniface museum on a Thursday when the entrance and tours were free. When I got there and asked about the free tour, I was told that there wasn’t going to be one because there wasn’t enough people. Literally only me. It made sense at the time because, of course, I didn’t want to put them to any trouble. So I wandered around with one of the fellows, just pointing out the different rooms and what were in there but no detailed information. I went away underwhelmed and later decided that I would contact the museum and ask why they wouldn’t give a tour even if it was just for one person because one person or 10 people what’s the difference? I received an immediate response, and was told that I should have been given a tour and that,” anytime I would like”, I would get free entry and a tour. Thank you Loik ! Well, I’ve had a tour of both the graveyard and the museum and I can tell you it was incredibly informative and very satisfying. The information imparted I had no clue about. Yes, there’s a lot about Louis Riel, because he is buried there, but there’s also a lot about the history of St Boniface and Winnipeg in general. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone who might go, but a couple nuggets of information that I learned kind of blew me away. First of all, I found out that a cross is only a crucifix if it has Jesus on it. Otherwise, it’s just a cross. And on the cemetery grounds a life sized crucifix just outside of the old cathedral faces the cathedral, when normally, it should be facing out from the graveyard. Apparently, this is to protect the cathedral, which has burned down three or four times now. It was totally fascinating to hear about the original inhabitants of this area and the Europeans effect on them and how the newly formed Manitoba government try to negotiate with the Canadian government to become Manitoba. And lots and lots and lots of details in between. If you are at all into museums, and how the local history formed what is now the modern era, this is a must visit museum and the tour makes all the difference! I highly recommend attending the St Boniface museum.

Riel House National Historic Site is a museum located in a 19th-century house that once belonged to the family of Louis Riel, a prominent Métis activist and politician. The site holds great historical significance in Manitoba, as it commemorates Riel's life and showcases the daily life of a Métis family in the Red River Settlement.
Not being a resident of Manitoba, I enjoyed my visit here, as it allowed me to learn more about Louis Riel and his family home. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and answered our many questions. It's definitely worth the visit.

It was an absolute pleasure visiting the Riel national historic site in St Vital. The mid 19th century home is lovingly preserved to his original condition and a commemorates the life of Métis leader Louis Riel who lived in this house during his formative years. There is free parking, park benches as well as commemorative plaques on the property providing information about Louis Riel as well as Manitoba history. Adjacent to the home is a garden which the family used to grow their own food. Great place to visit in order to gain and end ups appreciation for the history of Manitoba

We had a great experience getting to know the family of Louis Riel who inhabited the house and the history that came with it. Our tour guide, Eric, who was garbed in clothes of the time of the Riel family gave us an informative tour about Louis Riel’s family and how they lived and survived in the house.

Very awesome, the staff are so kind. I left well informed after the tour. Now I can do a jig and play the spoons

Very special to have the Riel’s family farm house preserved in St. Vital. The tour guides are fantastic in traditional Métis uniforms and knowledgeable about the history of the family and the artifacts in the house. Recommended visit!

Visited the house and had a tour. Learned about Metis culture and Louis Reil. Such a quaint historical home in a suburban neighbourhood. Worth a visit. Free to visit and tour. Can donate to tour guide specifically or to the group. Tour guides in historical clothing, French or English. Lots of parking. Once a year corn roast is fun with free corn, jigging and fiddling. Many historical artifacts.

First time in years we visited the Riel house. Learn the funeral for Louis right where we stood in the front room. Great peice of history of manitoba. I recommend the visit.

The Exchange District BIZ, established in 1881, is a cultural hub spanning 20 city blocks in Winnipeg. It boasts historic buildings that have been repurposed into independent boutiques, restaurants, and cocktail bars. The area's charm lies in its turn-of-the-20th-century warehouse architecture and early skyscrapers influenced by Chicago style. Hollywood often chooses this district as a backdrop for 1920s gangster movies due to its authentic atmosphere.
Just finished an amazing walking tour in the Exchange District in Winnipeg. The historic architecture and vibrant culture were incredible to experience firsthand. Huge thank you to Lora, our tour guide, for sharing so many fascinating stories and insights.

As a newbie exploring the Exchange District, I enjoyed a nice, lengthy walk around the area. It was a wonderful experience to observe and appreciate the architectural details of the buildings, checking out restaurants and some shops. However, as someone new to this area, I did feel a bit uneasy at times because there were some individuals who appeared to be under the influence of substances. Despite this, the overall experience of exploring the district and taking in the unique architecture was quite enriching.

Two of our hotel staff went on a walking tour of the Exchange District with Sabrina as our guide, and she made it a SUPER great experience! She is friendly, outgoing, and very knowledgeable. We heard about secret underground tunnels, mischievous former mayors, and the general strike! We had no idea, but the Exchange District Biz offers all sorts of really cool tours, starting at a very reasonable $10 per person, or for tours that include food and alcohol, a bit more, but still quite affordable for what you get out of it. We LOVE being tourists in our own city, and will be telling all of our guests to check out the Exchange. Thank you Exchange District Biz and Sabrina! Kierin & Denise

The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, situated in Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Canada, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. This beautifully landscaped garden showcases over 300 breathtaking sculptures by the renowned artist Leo Mol. Visitors can admire bronze and ceramic sculptures, as well as paintings and drawings set amidst picturesque plant beds, paths, and ponds.
As a wedding photographer, I've had the opportunity to shoot at many beautiful locations, but Leo Mol Sculpture Garden is truly something special. From the moment I stepped into the garden, I was blown away by how serene and picturesque it is—it's like stepping into a hidden oasis right in the heart of Assiniboine Park. One of the things I love most about shooting here is the incredible variety of backdrops—from the beautifully sculpted pathways and lush greenery to the elegant water features and breathtaking sculptures. Whether it's capturing a couple's quiet moment by the pond or playful laughter among the vibrant flowers, every shot feels like a work of art. The lighting here, especially during golden hour, is just magical and adds an extra touch of romance to every photo. Beyond the beauty of the space, the team at Leo Mol Sculpture Garden is amazing to work with. They're always so helpful and accommodating, making it easy for me and my couples to focus on what really matters—creating beautiful memories. Every time I photograph a wedding here, I leave feeling inspired and grateful to have such a stunning place right here in Winnipeg. If you're a couple looking for a romantic, artistic, and peaceful setting, or a fellow photographer searching for a dream location, I can’t recommend this spot enough. It’s truly one of my favorites!

The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden in Assiniboine Park is a peaceful blend of art and nature. It's filled with beautiful sculptures by Leo Mol, surrounded by lush gardens and quiet paths. Walking through the garden is calming, and the sculptures are amazing to see—they're so detailed and diverse. It's a perfect place for a relaxing stroll, where you can enjoy art in a natural setting. The garden is well cared for, flowers were vibrant. A Must Visit and its free of charge 🙂
Honey L — Google review
This peaceful sculpture garden is beside the English garden in Assiniboine Park. It is a fall paradise in our Prairie capital. On a warm October Friday afternoon people were walking their dogs, taking photos and having a picnic. In the well kept English garden all that was left were the shrubs and fantastic wine or yellow orange chrysanthemum.
Anne D — Google review
Quite a variety of bronze sculptures with an emphasis on his nubile muse. Others include famous persons, bears, a wild sow with suckling young, deer, and a strange mythical bull. The reflecting pond seemed overgrown when we visited in late August. The lily pond was teeming with frogs and flowers.

It's one of my favorite places at the Assiniboine park and zoo! Spending some time appreciating colorful flowers and plants or enjoying some peaceful time reading! Highlights to the jazz shows on Sundays in the afternoon! The best part of all is that I use the free Trolley to get there! From the Forks downtown and back! But of course I'm talking about my frequently visits there during the Summer!
Bernardete S — Google review
My husband and I were married at the Leo Mol Garden in July many years ago and it's a beautiful memory. We love going back to see all the amazing flowers and sculptures.

Beautiful gardens and unique sculptures. There are a few buildings that have descriptions of the artist and more sculptures (air conditioned which was a nice break from the heat). I'm so happy this place is free to visit! Highly recommend.
Claire K — Google review
The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden (at the arbour) is an absolutely incredible spot for an outdoor wedding ceremony! We got married there in the beginning of June and the garden was so lush and green. The grounds are very well kept. Everyone walking through the garden is kind and has a smile on their face. It brings out the best in people! For weddings, the location includes set-up and tear down by Assiniboine Park staff and nice white chairs. I had to follow-up with Assiniboine Park staff frequently to get the information I needed and to get my questions answered leading up to the big day which was frustrating but no other location would have fit the vision we had. If you are looking for an outdoor ceremony space - this can't be beat!

Cathedral
Saint Boniface Cathedral, a Roman Catholic basilica, was constructed in 1972 behind the remaining facade of an earlier church. It is a popular spot for engagement photos due to its historic and grand atmosphere. The cathedral offers picturesque photo spaces such as the grounds, rose gardens, and views of the Red River. Visitors can explore the unique architecture of the present-day Cathedral built within the ruins of Western Canada's oldest basilica.
St. Boniface Cathedral is a truly stunning spot in Winnipeg, with the old stone facade standing tall as a reminder of the original church that burned down years ago. When I visited, the new church behind it was closed, but just seeing the facade and the cemetery in front gave the place a calm, reflective vibe. It’s a popular spot for pre-wedding photos, and I can see why—it’s perfect for capturing special moments. Getting there was easy, whether by bus or walking from The Forks. We found free parking on the side streets since it was a Sunday. The area around the cathedral is also really nice, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, plus a museum. It’s a great place to take photos, enjoy the history, and the peaceful surroundings.

As a person of Métis heritage, I definitely wanted to check out Saint Boniface Cathedral, and the resting place of Louis Riel. It did not disappoint. While I did not go inside the actual cathedral, the exterior was stunning. My partner and I were the only ones around, and walking through such a beautiful structure was incredibly peaceful. If you are out for a walk and enjoy beautiful architecture, I definitely recommend setting aside the time to stroll around Saint Boniface Cathedral.

⛪✨ Visiting the Saint Boniface Cathedral ruins was such a special experience. Standing among the historic walls, I could really feel the stories and spirit of the past. Just as I was leaving, the church bells began to ring — it was such a magical moment that made the visit even more memorable. Saint Boniface is truly one of Winnipeg’s most beautiful and meaningful sites. I’ve shared more photos from this visit on my Instagram @mina.vazan if you’d like to see the full view. 🌿

Beautiful basilica, gives Winnipeg that “old roman city look” despite it being a young city. The ruins speaks of Winnipeg’s rich history & the Catholic Church’s resilience. The Basilica should offer more open hours for silent prayer for Catholics

Museums
The Manitoba Children's Museum is a delightful haven for young explorers, nestled in the historic Kinsmen building, which once served as a train repair depot. Since its opening in 1983, this vibrant museum has captivated children with themed and interactive exhibits designed to ignite their imaginations. With twelve permanent galleries, kids can embark on exciting adventures like climbing the towering Lasagna Lookout or experimenting with water at the Splash Lab.
Took my 16 month old for the morning and they had SOOOO much fun. The exhibits were so engaging and developmentally appropriate. The only negative was a family of children who's parent was sitting working on their computer and not accompanying their children. So his children decided to follow us around all day with one of his boys pushing my daughter and taking her toys from her. I eventually told the staff and the family left thank goodness. The eldest daughter was watching the children and she was doing her best bust the brothers were not listening at all. I recommend taking your children here but please remember to accompany your children as an 8 year old should not be pushing babys and taking their toys.

We had a wonderful time at the Children’s Museum in Winnipeg! It’s a bright, creative, and hands-on space perfect for kids to explore, learn, and burn off energy. One of our daughter’s favorite areas was the food-themed tunnel and climbing zone — fun, colorful, and safe. The exhibits are engaging without being overwhelming, and there’s plenty of room for kids of different ages to play at their own pace. The staff were friendly, and the environment was clean and well-maintained. I also appreciated the thoughtful details like seating areas for parents and clear signage in English and French. It’s definitely a must-visit for families in Winnipeg or anyone visiting with young children. Plan to spend at least 1.5 to 2 hours — the kids won’t want to leave! Rating: 5/5

Very disappointing experience. We showed up after lunch and it was a disaster. The art area was an absolute nightmare and staff refusing to clean up the area, scissors and materials scattered all over the museum. Staff on the floor looked miserable and were not friendly. A lot of the exhibits were closed off or out of order, outside was “out of order” but staff couldn’t answer as to why. Not worth the 45$ for a family of three, take your money elsewhere. We were very disappointed with our visit…. It is time to switch it up especially if you continue to hike the price of admission. 4/10 recommend! The staff at the front desk were lovely though.

+ my son got free admission here because he is a member at Edmonton's Telus World of Science so that was a nice bonus - this place is much smaller than Edmonton's science center so we were a bit disappointed when my kid wanted to leave after an hour (was bored) - not alot of parking at the time -the 'craft' area was a bit of a hot mess, lots of old crafts left behind, barely any glue, whatever bits of paper or plastic to be used was bleh - there is an area to sit and eat but the concession wasn't open to buy snacks or drinks
Joseen F — Google review
I came here with my family and my son loved the water center area and the pedestrian/traffic light area. Very reasonable pricing and friendly staff. An awesome place to bring kids!

Haven’t been here since I was a kid in the 2000’s and wow have they ever ruined it. It’s incredibly underwhelming. All the fun things that used to be there that made it great are all gone. It’s just one big room full of boring games. The only fun thing about it for the kids was the lasagna play thing. The arts and crafts had nothing in it and was a complete mess. Congrats winnipeg, you’ve taken something great and ruined it, again.

This was a really fun, unplanned stop for us! My three year old just loved the facility, especially the real train which has been modified to be a child friendly play area! We ended up with a couple of hours to spare, and I'm so glad we ended up here. We could have spent more time there for sure. I really appreciated all of the reading nooks set around the play areas to encourage rest and reading.

Look no further for the ultimate wedding venue! Connie and her team are incredible and take care of everything for you (food, DJ, entertainment, table numbers, linens, etc). The tasting was delicious. Connie dealt with all the day of details so there was no stress involved - she even arranged the train of my dress before I walked down the aisle! Our guests were surprised by a musket salute and hatchet throwing/big games. No one will leave your wedding hungry, most people had no room for dessert. Everyone left happy.

Festival Voyager February 15 - 24, 2019 February 17, 2019 ~ Hé Ho 50 years anniversary of Festival Voyager I wanted to do something different by spending the day exploring the sites & history of the Voyagers came to Winnipeg to settle. In the past I have attended at night & enjoyed the entertainment with friends. We sang & danced in the warm shelter. Remember during the day bring the entire family enjoy entertainment & history of the past. Come hungry as there is a great selection of food to choose from. Each venue has food, drinks, adult drinks, entertainment & crafts for the children during the day for everyone to enjoy. Take a walk down the path to take part in dog sledding. It did look like a lot of fun. The sculptures are simply amazing to say the least! From a block of snow to beauty in front of you. The artists use different tools, shovels & ladders. Can you imagine playing in the snow when you were small child to become a creator of sculptures for everyone to enjoy today. I thank you for being the person you are today. The volunteers wore costumes of 1700’s, perform sewing to carving a paddle. The gentleman I spoke with has handcrafted wooden paddles for some of the Chemo Savy ladies for them to paint & use Dragon Boat Festivals. He showed me the different paddles, the purpose of the each paddles & who these paddles. There was a trading post, blacksmith, wood working and many more venues to enjoy. You must stop at the chocolatiers what looks like something craved out of wood or clay ended being chocolate!! It looked even more delightful with chocolate. Never ending talent. What goes with snow but snowshoes stop by to try out a pair & enjoy your walk in the snow. What caught my eye was ice climbing on the way to Fort Gibraltar. Last time I saw ice climbing was on my trip out west at Lake Louise. But these climbers were climbing a frozen water fall. What is that noise, was someone taking down a tree??? No, it was guys with chain saws craving a bear head, a eagle out of wood. They had quite a nice display of their creations. Never worry about running out cash there are interact stations throughout the Grounds. Please take a few hours out of your day or evening to enjoy the festival. Form of payment made easy cash, debit or credit card & tap.

Fascinating museum. Really large home with a lot of character and family history. I had a wonderful tour guide, not to mention a solo tour. A nice young man whose name I don't recall. He had a true passion for the history of the home and the family for whom it was built. He mentioned that he had worked at another museum previously so it was obvious his passion was genuine. I highly recommend the museum. It does require going up multiple flights of long stairs which may not be conducive for everyone.
Kelly C — Google review
We visited Dalnavert on its Open House day in September. We walked from our home in Osborne Village. There were artists selling their wares. We hadn't visited the house in over 20 years. We lived the interior, with its "day-in-the-lufe" approach. The museum is well laid out for traffic flow. Volunteers answered any questions we had. The grounds are beautiful, and the welcome center is tucked brilliantly behind the beautiful Queen Anne Style house. We had a wonderful time going back in time. It should be pointed out that Sir Hugh Jihm MacDonald was not a friend tothe Indigenous Peoples of Manitoba.

I haven't been back to this museum for a couple of decades. It is the home of Hugh MacDonald, son of Sir John A MacDonald, first prime Minister of Canada. He moved to Winnipeg to avoid his father, it is said, and set up home in this custom built mansion of the time. This is definitely an upper crust abode of its day with servant's quarters and like that, but was also the epitome of house building tech of its time. It has had a storied history and was at one point heavily modified to serve as a rooming house but was rescued from demolition and restored to its original beauty by a dedicated group of volunteers in the 80s and 90s. There are lots of good stories about that and some fun history, which my family became familiar with as my daughter and mother in law worked as guides and animators there for several years. This served me well and triggered the recent visit as I was trying to describe a problem I was working on with stretching an embroidery work piece I was working on and my daughter told me of an 19th century device at the museum that had been used to stretch the lace curtains back into shape after washing. They very kindly allowed me access to the basement storage area and the "curtain stretcher " device so I could measure it and photograph it for my 21st century art work. It is a neat place, I recommend visits at each season as they reconfigure the exhibits to give you a view into that time of Canada's youth. As an interesting side point. While working as a guide once, my daughter kept company with Hugh McDonald's son who regaled her with tales of visiting Ottawa and his grandfather. Not everyone can say they have heard first hand stories about one of their country's founders.

The Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park is a captivating destination located just south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. This year-round park showcases the fascinating ruins of the Lady of the Prairies Monastery, which reflect the architectural style of the early French-speaking Métis community. Visitors can explore these historic brick and stone remnants while learning about the Trappist monks who resided here until the late 1980s.

The Trappist monastery provincial heritage Park is an extremely beautiful provincial park located in St Norbert, a few kilometres south of Winnipeg. The monastery was initially constructed in 1903/1904 and was in use until 1978. In 1983 the monastery was sadly gutted by fire. It is now part of the provincial park and is being cared for by the province of Manitoba. The setting of this monastery is absolutely amazing as it is situated on the banks of the LaSalle river. The park is situated right next to Southwood golf course. There is plenty of green space in the park in addition to benches and a few picnic tables. It’s a very calm, peaceful and serene environment, which makes it the perfect place to spend time with family and friends or just spending time to respect. There is plenty of free parking, no admission ticket is required and it is located adjacent to the world peace pagoda as well as the St Norbert arts centre. The park is also dog friendly!

It's an amazing ruin that I'll definitely visit many times because it offers different views as the light changes, allowing us to capture varied scenes. I used to go to Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Ephesus in Turkey; however, both were too crowded. This outdoor garden complex features six distinct gardens, including the Indigenous Peoples Garden, Kitchen Garden, Sensory Garden, Performance Garden, Seasonal Garden, and the Grove. It is the first garden in North America to showcase Canadian cultural stories through plants.
This is the first time I've been here and wow it was very impressive! Especially the Mediterranean biome. I absolutely loved how the smell of the sage in there. I loved how you could see the names of all the different kinds of plants they had there. Definitely want to experience the leaf in winter time!

We purchased the package ticket for the zoo and The Leaf. We finished early at the zoo, and our scheduled time at The Leaf is 8:30pm. We went to the leaf to try if we can come in early before we go for dinner. The staff at the entrance were nice to accommodate us. My second time here, and everything still seems nice. Plants are still well taken care of. My mom and my grandma loves it as they really love plants and flowers!

This was a great way to spend a few hours with the family. Honestly The leaf exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back here at least once a year to enjoy the beautiful plants and trees that this place has to offer. My children ages 20 to 8 also really enjoyed the experience. The butterfly sanctuary is amazing as well!

A tropical botanical garden in the middle of the prairies. The building has very unique architecture that fits well for the purpose. Walk through the dense tropical biom with a waterfall from the top observation walkway. There is also a very cool butterfly chambers where you can walk amongst the flying butterflies. There's also a more relaxing Mediterranean biom room, a coffee bar and a restaurant that looks fancy. Worth a visit when in Winnipeg.

If you've ever wanted to feel like you're somewhere else or experience feeling really small on a grand adventure, this is the place to go. Green thumb heaven! The place where you can see how grand your beautiful house plants can be in all of the right conditions.

So amazing! A perfect escape to the tropical forest! So relaxing to understand the beautiful vegetation from around the world! The butterfly sanctuary is incredible! We loved it all! The staff are so welcoming and helpful with questions. A must visit destination!
Richie J — Google review
This is one of Winnipeg’s top attractions, and for good reason. The building is stunning, and it is such a unique experience to be able to experience tropical and mediterranean vegetation in the middle of a cold Winnipeg winter. There is also an upscale restaurant located on the property, as well as several rooms that can host events. There is also a butterfly garden on the upper level accessed by a catwalk that provides a view of the tropical biome from above. I highly recommend visiting The Leaf if you are visiting Winnipeg, or if you are a local.

First of all, the Gathering restaurant inside The Leaf was amazing! We had tuna carpaccio, prawn pasta, fresh foccaia with squash butter and bananas foster bread pudding. All very delicious! I also had a raspberry quench mocktail, which was the perfect amount of crisp and tart. The atmosphere of the restaurant is minimalist, with some plants and great staff that will offer suggestions. Thanks to Taylor, we added the delicious bread and butter (fun flavors made daily). We went into the biomes, where one is more of a rainforest vibe, which also has a waterfall and coy pond. The other biome is most like a cozy backyard, including a plant wall and seats to hang out and drink coffee. The butterfly garden was very peaceful and sunny. The butterflies love the sun, so try to go on a sunny day when they're more active.

Beautiful place in the fall. Endless trails and exploring. Lots of wildlife. Bring water, snacks and a camera this is one of if not my number 1 favorite place in the province. Its magical to say the least. Don't feed the animals and don't litter. Enjoy and preserve our shared backyard. :)

Really nice place to go for a walk or bike ride. There are a few trails that are nicely maintained by the Charleswood rotary club -- wood chips for most. It's nice to have an urban forest. You cant even see or hear the city in some parts.

The Living Prairie Museum in Winnipeg offers a unique experience to explore the remnants of the tall grass prairie ecosystem. Spanning 13 hectares, it is home to over 150 grass and wildflower species as well as various prairie wildlife. Visitors can witness the annual migration of Monarch butterflies, participate in seed collection activities, and embark on self-guided hikes to uncover the secrets of the tall grass prairie. We really enjoy volunteering here. The staff are very knowledgeable and the opportunity of helping them to preserve our beautiful prairies is very rewarding. The museum has a lot of information about biodiversity in the region. The indoor exhibits are worth a visit any time of the year. The outdoor area showcases several types of grass and other plants. Activities for kids and adults.

The Living Prairie Museum is such a special place. I love the peaceful little trail that winds through the tall grass. It is the perfect escape from the city without having to go far. The staff clearly care about preserving this land and they offer lovely community activities throughout the year. They have family days to seasonal event stuff. It’s educational, relaxing and beautiful all at once. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys nature and wants to support local conservation. Also become a friend of the museum, it’s affordable and helps them out!

This is one of the last remaining natural prairie landscapes in all of North America. You wouldn't expect it to be on Ness Ave next to the airport, but there it is. They have great walking trails which are filled with signage describing and identifying native prairie plant species. We were lucky enough to get a great presentation from the guides as we were here for an even with the U of M, and the guides were very passionate and happy to answer all of our questions. They practice controlled burns to help mimic natural cycles, and everything they do here is with maintaining and preserving the land. Definitely an underrated and underappreciated spot in Winnipeg.

Farmers' market
The St Norbert Farmers Market is a large, bi-weekly farmers' market in the heart of downtown St. Norbert. It is open from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays and from 3pm to 9pm on Wednesdays, with outdoor markets scheduled for May 16th and June 17th this year. The market's mandate is to provide local food items at affordable prices, and it has been successful in doing so over the years.
Love the vibe here, happy, knowledgeable, and warm merchants. We found their homemade delicacies delectable, fresh produce that include a whole array of vegetables and fruits; to organic sourced meats and dairies. Prices were fair since we would have the products freshly harvested from farms. There was an area for kid's activities, while the grown-ups were going around. Washrooms are clean and accessible. Operating hours vary seasonally, so check it out before you head out. Will be coming back again to try the other items there.
Ann G — Google review
I’ve loved this market since the first time I came by, back in 2017. Since then they’ve only expanded. They’re now open Saturday’s all year long until opening twice a week during the summer months. This place is a great spot to go for all your local needs. They sell local art/prints, crafts, all things handmade and food items. Specialty baked goods, plain old bakery delights and various assortments of edible goods from local farms (meats, veggies, jams/jellies, eggs, homemade pasta). Parking can be tricky especially in larger vehicles. We parked in a large lot nearby and walked. There’s lots of pedestrian crossings designed specially for easy access here. Great for pedestrians while potentially annoying for drivers. It’s free to enter. Most booths take credit or debit, cash always appreciated as well. It can get pretty cramped in there and when people don’t pay attention it can be hard to differentiate between a line to pay/order or people just milling about. I love it just the same and always leave with my arms full. I highly recommend it especially in the summer months with the food trucks & outdoor booths.
Vikki P — Google review
Wow I never realized how massive this place was until I explored the place and experienced it first hand, it’s sprawling with hundreds of vendors and is worth investing a considerable portion of your day to explore, go early though as it will aid in you finding parking which is ample although The on site parking is $2. Tons of fresh produce, fresh baking and food trucks representing a considerable portion of global country’s I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful this place truly is there is simply too much here to describe you need to experience the sights, the smells, the food and the people for yourself! Give it a whirl! You will not be disappointed!

A Must-Visit for Fresh, Local Goods! We absolutely love St. Norbert Farmers Market! It’s a family favorite, and my kids are always excited to visit. The fresh pretzels are a huge hit — warm, soft, and delicious every time! 🥨🍞 The jams are some of the best we’ve ever had, with so many flavors to choose from. 🍓🍑 We also never leave without grabbing eggs and tomatoes — they’re always fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. 🍳🍅 Whether you're shopping for everyday staples or treating yourself to something special, this market never disappoints. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for quality, local products!
Aparna K — Google review
A beautiful market with lots of variety. In the summer, all the food trucks are a highlight. There’s often live music too. You can get lots of fresh produce and other goods straight from farm to table. Fresh flowers are also available when in season. The market is well run! I also shopped here a lot during the pandemic and it was run so professionally and safely.
Kendra H — Google review
A wonderful farmers market full of local farm produce and an impressive and comprehensive range of makers and crafters

The market is a great market and is a very pleasant way to spend the day. The filipino food truck is my favourite place to eat here and is a great place for lunch. They have lots of options for fresh vegetables, fruit and honey which is awesome. I’m not so much a fan of the expensive local knickknacks inside the big tent but if you wanna blow your budget go ahead.

A great, popular market with a abundance of local flair. Gluten free baked goods, regular baked items, farm fresh eggs, local fish, arts, crafts, nicnacs of all shorts. The King's Head Pub is a popular spot in Winnipeg's Exchange District, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings. With a British and Indian menu, this relaxed watering hole also features regular live music and a large selection of draft beers. The spacious establishment has been open since 1987 and can accommodate up to 340 guests, offering traditional pub food, pool tables, and an upstairs area for live music and dancing.
EDITING THIS REVIEW TO ADD: Jared, our bartender for the night, was seriously the friendliest, funniest, and fasted server we’ve ever had. This dude was simply on top of it. He remembered everyone’s drink and just made the night so much better. Very friendly, chill staff and great atmosphere. Good drinks and great food. Definitely a spot to come back to.

I’ve been here a few times when they have live bands and the atmosphere is expectedly crowded and loud but has a fun vibe. Came here today for Burger Week and it wasn’t crowded at all (especially since it’s a Tuesday night). Tried the Caribbean Water and loved it! The burger was called Cheesus Take the Wheel. The burger was ok… wish it had more cheese (to match its name). We ordered it with curry chips (fries) and this one was really good! Certainly a unique offering. We also ordered chickpea curry (mild) and it was served with rice and naan. Unfortunately, not a fan of this. It didn’t have much of a curry flavour to it.

Didn't have food this time but had a pint. Service was attentive. It's a place with great memory for the city. Old school pub with funky decor. Can get busy and noisy on the main level. It's a classic in the Exchange District.

Firstly, The staff are INCREDIBLY friendly amazing people :) Secondly, worst nachos I've had in years. The chicken was WAY overcooked on our mid nacho, otherwise thy were on par. But the chicken was like chewing hockey pucks. I am so disappointed that i am writing this as my party and I eat them. To me the salsa was awful. My friend liked the salsa though. To me it just tasted like someone put a tomato in a juice and squeezed the juice out and then cut it VERY crudely because the chunks were HUGE and it was unacceptably watery, probably used high water tomatoes. Thirdly WAY too few alsohol-free beer options for how many drinks they have on tap. Heineken zero and Guiness Zero ONLY. Lastly...There were very few BIPOC folks here on the night we came so Kings head doesn't feel incredibly inclusive hence only 4 stars for atmosphere.

We hosted our company holiday party on the 2nd floor at The King’s Head Pub, and WOW — what a night! The space was perfect for our group of 45, and the food? Absolutely outstanding! The cheese log and chicken parmesan were huge hits, and they went above and beyond by making a vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie with Impossible Meat. Our veggie-loving guests were thrilled to have such a tasty main dish. Shoutout to Dale and Luke, who were rockstars all night! They were so attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed and that everyone was having a blast. If you’re looking for a fun, welcoming place to host your event, we can’t recommend The King’s Head Pub enough. It was an absolute win!

The venue is renowned for its lively atmosphere, with fans creating an electrifying experience during home games. Additionally, it has become a hub for various sporting events, including basketball games and championship weekends.

Always excited to attend my next event at the Canada Life Centre.

Husband and I went to see Bryan Adams here! Fantastic concert but I want to talk about the facilities and the people who work there. Haven't been to this venue in awhile and the last time was at a Jets game where we had free tickets to sit in a box area( lucky us)! So I haven't sat in the regular seats for some time. I bought our tickets quite awhile ago where we were beside the stage. Went to sit and being a large gal, these seats are made for not large people. Embarrassing. The usher, who heard my dilemma, said to go talk to Guest Service. I was greeted by Barb, a very kind person, who helped us out and made sure we could have seats that were more comfortable. Although I was further away from the stage, the seats were comfortable and this was a very kind gesture. The usher, Bess, who was near us, was amazing that night!! She was helpful and kind to everyone who needed her assistance. Your staff made my experience even better! The 4 stars is because of your seating. The bomber stadium is awesome because of their seats, room to sit. You need to do better for accessibility and inclusion for ALL. Yes, you offer areas for people who use wheelchairs and walkers, but a fold up chair is not always that comfortable for some either. (I didn't have that but I know others who have). Even to have better areas closer to the stage would be nice as well.
Angel P — Google review
I attended the Koяn and Gojira concert and it was the most disappointing concert setup ever. I purchased FLOOR tickets expecting the true rock/metal experience - standing, moving, and enjoying the show freely. Instead, the entire floor was filled with chairs, and security kept telling people to sit down like we’re listening to opera. This completely ruined the atmosphere. I couldn’t believe that someone could put chairs in this place, someone who doesn’t know what the format of the event maybe. A metal concert is not the place where fans should be forced into seats - that’s what the stands are for. When Koяn performed, everyone ended up standing anyway, which shows the chairs were pointless and only got in the way. If you want to control capacity, sell fewer tickets - but don’t ruin the floor experience with rows of chairs. Additionally, the security checks at the entrance seemed inconsistent and selective, which felt unfair. This venue is perfect for hockey, I’ve been here for a games, it was awesome. But if you’re going to host metal bands, at least respect the fans and the format of the event. It’s just pathetic to see metalheads sitting in chairs right in front of the stage.

Old Market Square in Winnipeg, Canada is a historic area surrounded by charming century-old buildings that have been repurposed into trendy restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and shops. The market's classic red-bricked architecture adds to its allure. It is a popular spot for shopping and hosts events like the Fringe festival and jazz performances during the summer. The vibrant atmosphere attracts people of all ages and cultures, making it a safe and enjoyable place to visit.
This place is amazing. I wish the Fringe festival was here for longer. Over the weeks, I saw so many good performances. A shout out to my personal favorites, "The Sun Runner!" They played a new song that I still can't get out of my head. And "Stellar," the all female band. The local musicians are very talented indeed.

Cool stage. I was there for the free shows of the jazz festival. The festival setup had a nice layout with the permanent stage, there was food trucks off to one side on the streets. The only slightly annoying thing is one side of the open green space has some sort of concrete edge you can sit on, but depending how crowded it gets, it's the only spot to go towards the street and it's a big step. There was water pooling on that concrete part despite no rain in the past day, but that seemed like a common occurrence in the city...

I recently visited Old Market Square in Winnipeg and I was really impressed. The square is located in the heart of the city's Exchange District, which is a historic area that is full of old brick buildings and cobblestone streets. Old Market Square is a great place to relax and people-watch, and there are also a number of restaurants and shops in the area. The centerpiece of Old Market Square is The Cube, a unique performance space that is made up of a concrete cube enclosed by a flexible metal membrane. The membrane can be opened or closed to create a variety of different spaces, and it is used for a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, and markets. In addition to The Cube, Old Market Square also has a number of other amenities, including a playground, a fountain, and a variety of benches and tables. There is also a large mural on one of the walls of the square that depicts the history of the Exchange District. Overall, I thought Old Market Square was a fantastic and cozy place to spend an afternoon. It is a great place to relax and people-watch, and there are also a number of restaurants and shops in the area. I would definitely recommend Old Market Square to anyone visiting Winnipeg.

Chocolatier Constance Popp is a renowned chocolate shop that offers more than just chocolates. In addition to their delectable chocolates, they also serve locally produced birch syrup ice cream in housemade waffle cones topped with chocolate butterflies. Their menu includes irresistible ice cream sandwiches and a variety of pops. Visitors can also indulge in the best hot chocolate, including the popular spicy hot chocolate, perfect for warming up on cold days.
We ordered 350 Winnipeg Skyline chocolate bars for a convention we were hosting in Winnipeg that brought delegates here from around the world. We gave each delegate a bar as they checked in to the convention registration desk. They were such a hit!! Our delegates loved the design of them and reported back that they tasted amazing! When I picked up the bars from their shop, they were so welcoming and helped me load up the boxes in my car. Highly recommend a visit!!

Very nice shop. Chocolate is expensive but tastes amazing! I’d highly recommend getting a truffle! I have never tasted such an amazing truffle in my life before!

If you haven’t purchased chocolate from Chocolatier Constance Popp yet you are missing out! I am always in there but recently I had them do a custom order of 500 chocolate gold coins for a promo of a TV show called Red River Gold and they did an amazing job and charged me a very reasonable (I would even say inexpensive) price. The chocolate is to die for but the reason I always go back is because of how professional, kind and generous the owner and staff are. ❤️

Constance popp is an amazing shop! There’s so much uniqueness and creativity in every piece of chocolate I have ever had at this place. Recently I tried the classic scones those were great..I also tried their valentines edition chocolates and it was delicious! The owner is super nice with so much passion into every chocolate product she makes!

Had the opportunity to try 18 chocolates for $18 on their anniversary. Each day my family tries a new chocolate and rates it. We are logging our favorites for Christmas shopping.

The visit here was by accident as I was unaware of this chocolate store. I was on my way elsewhere, and decided to go in Well, what a pleasant surprise. I love chocolate, but just realized that not all chocolate is the same. The selection and variety, and creativity of anything chocolate exists in this store. While walking around and trying to decide what to buy, my son bought their spicy hot chocolate. Dark chocolate, almond milk, and cayenne pepper. Rich, chocolately, and delicious. We bought truffles($2.25 or $2.30 per piece), chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered orange slices, and a chocolate caramel nougat bar. Most items were $8. The woman at the counter was friendly, and talkative, and chatted us up about chocolate and the history of this business. When we returned home after our Canadian vacation in Winnipeg, we hosted a Taste of Manitoba event and served these chocolates for dessert. Well, just a little bit of a hit, and everyone appreciated us sharing. Please try these chocolates, or even order them online, as you don't have to buy them in-store. I am not so sure that I will wait for my next trip there to buy more.

I absolutely love Chocolatier Constance Popp! I'm originally from Winnipeg and now live in England ... and every time I visit the prairies I make a point of popping (pun intended) by the shop. The staff are always super friendly and I always marvel at the array of products on offer. I'll be returning next month, and Constance is arranging for me to do a poetry reading in her shop (Thu 23 Oct). The shop is an absolute gem in Winnipeg!

Small but spacious store. Wasn't busy at all on a Tuesday afternoon. Was greeted soon after we arrived. Decided to try their chocolate shake for $7. The staff were friendly. I had to wait a while before a staff member in the kitchen noticed I was waiting. There was only one employee on the floor and he was busy with a customer. She came and took my order. I got my shake within 10 minutes. It was very rich and well worth the money. Will definitely come back to try the fudge ice cream sandwich!

Scenic Railroads
The Prairie Dog Central Railway is a restored steam-powered locomotive that offers visitors a 60 to 75 minute journey between Winnipeg and Grosse Isle. Various themed excursions are offered, including train robberies, Halloween events, and more. This is a great family-friendly excursion with views of the prairie landscape.
This is a total gem in Winnipeg! I brought my women’s group of 14 of us on a midweek excursion and we had a blast! We went on the diesel train, which is totally authentic looking. They had a fellow singing and playing for the trip up and back. When we arrived to Gross Isle, there were two lineups to grab your food. The lineups are long and take about 15 to 20 minutes, but in the end, you have enough time to mosey around the display buildings, etc.. The lunch is made by volunteers and was very good! Homemade sandwiches, chips, Caesar salad, drink, and a delicious ice cream bar. I thought it was very well done. And then you have about half an hour to 45 minutes to wander around and see everything, which is plenty of time. I recommend this to everybody and anybody. And they have some pretty interesting themed train rides in the summer from what I read.
Sherree V — Google review
Oh my goodness if you can make this a destination for your family this summer,do it! You won’t be disappointed! From our train robbery to the gross isle park experience it was a blast! Our kids were 2 to 6 and thoroughly loved every minute! Even the 56 and 35 year old loved it! Pack snacks and drinks and a picnic lunch or buy your lunch there, but be sure to get in line for the ice cream early!!! Thank you Prairie dog central!

Always a great time on the Prairie Dog Central Railway! Will return again next year! Great to see the steam engine back and in action! 🚂🚃🚃 Bring a lunch, have a picnic in Grosse Isle, grab a hot dog or sausage, baked treat or maybe some ice cream. A great day out for the family.

Visited the PDCR for the first time. Unfortunately the train wasn't running today. They have a steam locomotive and several diesels. They run a train up to Gross Isle on the weekends. The steam locomotive is in the maintenance building, so couldn't get a close look at it.

Went on the train where we were "robbed" by cowboys on horseback. Great time. Fantastic show put on and for a great cause. The stop in town was great, visiting all the old buildings and having a quick lunch/shopping at the little shops was nice. 10/10. Great family experience.

The Prairie Dog railway is a unique opportunity to enjoy a leisurely ride through the country from their station to Gross Isle and back. The stop today includes a 45 minute magic show and vendors selling their wares. This is a big hit with young people, and ‘kids’ of all ages, lol. **Warning** - beware of the map app directions. Often they will direct you to the gross Isle location!!

This way beyond fun , we did The Great Train Robbery and it was such a blast, kids had fun and we got to sit in a coach dating back to 1901 , everything about this experience with my family was amazing ❤️ if ever you get the chance to take this Train, please do so .

Grand Prix Amusements is a great amusement center with attractions like bumper cars, bumper boats, castle clash, water wars, jump shot trampoline, spaceball trampoline, and more. There are also go-karts to choose from with three different tracks and six different types of Go-Karts. The staff is patient with the little ones and the place is great for all ages.
My first time there. Me and my friends just spent a really good time together playing golf, it’s really interesting. And the karting was so fun. Activities for all ages and good prices.
L A — Google review
We went here with a group of 15 and everyone had a blast. Though it isn't cheap at about 4 tickets a pop for most things (at roughly $2 per ticket with savings the more you buy). For example, for our family of 6 to have one go-cart ride and one water bumper boats ride, we would need 48 tickets which is $89 (saving of $7 for buying 48)! That is a LOT of money for two things. Yikes. Now that isn't to say we didn't enjoy ourselves. We absolutely did. It was a blast. The 11 kids in our group did two go-karts each, 1 Water bumper boats, and mini-golf. The adults did one go-kart ride each and water bumper boats. I didn't pay the bill, but my best estimate would be we needed roughly 204 tickets if each thing was 4 tickets (though I know a few went on the 6-ticket go-kart ride) so our host would have had to buy 2 sets of 96 ($174+174) and another 12 ($24) thus equalling $372. A pricey evening but it was very fun with great memories made with cousins. It wasn't remotely busy (Wednesday night) which was great and everyone enjoyed it very much. It would be lovely if it was more affordable. It just isn't if you have more than a couple kids and they want to do multiple things. Who wants to go all that way to only do two things? That said there are some things that only take 1 and 2 tickets but our troop wasn't interested in those things (batting cages, hoops basketball, air canons, etc) A very fun night out for sure. The mini golf course was fantastic and the best bang for your buck as that is also 4 tickets and takes about 45 minutes. The course is super creative with its pirate theme. Very cool course. Worth going there just for this. I also like that there are different go-karts hour different ages. A tiny course for kids 4-6. Then for 7+ there is separate large race track with 2 types of carts. I thought my youngest would be too scared but she did great with her cousins. And on the bigger course (age 14+) there are 3 types of cars. One is a double cart in which you can take kids. Overall a great experience.
Tara M — Google review
The go karts are pretty slow but fun. Bumper boats were fun. Mini golf was fun. Loved the old school Nascar decor. The main building is a bit run down.
Brittany C — Google review
A really awesome place with go kart racing, bumper tubes, mini golf, and more for all ages. Perfect for the whole family! We went there with my wife and daughter for a friend’s birthday, and it was such a fun experience. Highly recommended for kids and families!
Roy S — Google review
Good times. Batting cages pitches were all over the place and not even close to the plate. That was a waste of money. Go carts were fun and the girls inside were friendly. The boys running the track looked like they would rather be anywhere else but at work. The kid running the bumper boats was nice. Pretty good time all In all.
Chris R — Google review
It’s fun, but maybe a bit too many cars on track at once, so lots of slow drivers. I’m sure the sprint carts would be more competitive. It’s great for a family, and all participants follow the rules ‘ no bumping’.
Shaneel S — Google review
Nice place to take kids 4+, adults also can have fun, cold treats available. Go carts = single, double, Sprint Go cart = 4+ slow for youngsters Mini golf, bumper boats, batter cages, trampoline, water balloons, ice creams, candy, pool table, washrooms. I would suggest some new additions to the park. Aka splash pad, carnival rides, etc. Needs something new to attract more customers to compete with tinkertown. Seems to be a fair amount of extra land so building something else new would be a good idea. Maybe even a kids park, slides, swings, play structure, with some nice e planted trees and a small splash pad would be ideal.
04srt4champ — Google review
Grand Prix Amusements offers a variety of attractions, including go-karts, mini-golf, bumper boats, and batting cages. While the activities are enjoyable, the pricing can add up quickly, especially for larger groups. For instance, a family of six might spend around $89 for just one go-kart ride and one bumper boat ride . Additionally, the location, situated in Navin, Manitoba, is a bit remote, which could be inconvenient for some visitors. Overall, it’s a fun spot for a day out, but the value may vary depending on your group size and expectations.

Red Ember Common is a stylish bar where you can savor mouthwatering pizzas straight from the stone oven. It's conveniently located near the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, known for its impressive glass, stone, concrete, and steel structure. The museum's 10 core galleries spread over five floors offer diverse stories from Canada and around the world to educate visitors about human rights issues. The pizzas at Red Ember Common are delicious with well-baked crispy dough and abundant toppings.
One of the best pizza spots in Winnipeg! Red Ember Common at The Forks never disappoints. Their wood-fired pizzas are absolutely delicious — perfectly crispy crust, fresh toppings, and amazing flavour combinations. The service is fast and friendly, and the quality is consistent every time. We tried the ‘Bacon & Mushroom’ and the ‘Margherita’ — both were fantastic! A must-try if you’re visiting The Forks Market.
Negaresh N — Google review
Their margarita pizza is seriously delicious and the strawberry lemonade is addicting! The pizza sauce was very rich and flavourful. The cheese melted in my mouth and the tomato’s were a delightful burst of flavour. The crust is very soft and on the thin side which I prefer but if you prefer pizza with a thicker crust this probably isn’t the right pizza place for you.
Ella M — Google review
I had the pizza here recently and was blown away by how good it was. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were super fresh. You can really tell they care about quality.

Azmayen K — Google review
Today I bought a pizza for my son, and saying that I’m shocked is an understatement. There was almost no cheese, just tomato sauce, and it tasted like something from a supermarket. I’m speechless. I was extremely disappointed — $22 for this? This pizza is worth at most $10. I’m very upset, it’s the worst pizza I’ve ever ordered. Don’t waste your time and money on this place.

Best Neapolitan style pizza I have found in city. Never disappoints. They use a pizza oven imported from Italy. Fresh and simple ingredients. It is unlike your chain pizza restaurants so may not be for everyone.
Joel H — Google review
The pizza is no different from any other. It is tasty, the dough is well-baked and crispy, and there are a lot of toppings. If you're in the forks and you're craving pizza, this is the only place you can go and you won't be disappointed. One of the few dishes that you can take away in a box and eat outside, e.g. on sunbeds. In my opinion prices are little bit too high..

The museum features a retrofitted hydroelectric plant where guests can learn about electricity and board a replica streetcar to experience life in the 1800s before electricity.
We had a great experience! $7 per adult, kids I believe 5 and under were free. It's a small museum but clean, lots to see, and interactive displays. Hot chocolate donated by the No Frills (Luis and Emma) down the road. Worth the $7 entry and we plan to be back!

This museum is so adorable. The staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful, they seem to really enjoy being there. I was expecting more of a reading tour with not many activities so I was unsure how a child would take it. To my surprise, there were things to interact with just when the reading got "boring" to her which made pacing nice. There was also a little scavenger hunt with a prize at the end which I thought was a nice touch. There were even more interactive displays and things to do downstairs. My only complaints would be that I think one of the displays might be broken? And that I would have liked the museum to be open longer, it's impossible to take someone after work/school.

Why @patent5distillery ? The amount of knowledge you gain from this tour is definitely worth the low $10 admission price that includes a drink (gin or tonic or non alcoholic option off the menu). It's in a slightly hard to find out of the way section of the exchange district. It's a gem of a find when you do get to it. It's for a distinct atmosphere that makes for a moody almost romantic feel. There were so many interesting facts, but you'll have to go see the tour. Here are a few tidbits: -5th patent was for column or patent still, it was a new technology that helped increase the efficiency of ethanol production. -The vodka is distilled through 16 plates for a clean taste. -They make 350 bottles per run, which isn't that high of an amount. -Everything on their menu includes one item that is made in house -my friend insisted this was one of the best gins she's had in awhile! Overall: 5 🌠 Atmosphere: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food/drinks: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (only drinks as we ordered no food) Price: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (I didn't get a clear look at the menu as we did the tour mainly) #patent5distillery #weekend #winnipegbar #drinklocal #wpgpub #exploremb #onlyinthepeg #winnipegdrinks #drinkstagram #distillery #pixel3

The Ross House Museum is an historic house in Winnipeg that tells the story of the city's early settlers. It features carefully restored log walls and furnishings, including a working post office from the early days of Manitoba.
My friend and I very much enjoyed our visit to this museum. The house has been meticulously maintained in its original, historical condition. We felt like we went back in time to the turn of the last century. The volunteers were fantastic and answered every question we had and gave us a personal tour of the house. It reminded me of Lower Fort Garry in that it really feels like stepping into the past. Really easy place to get to in the heart of Point Douglas in Winnipeg.

After months of Putin building up tens of thousands of troops near the Ukrainian border and a series of failed diplomatic talks, Russia is now waging a full-out war on Ukraine. Tensions escalated quickly when, on February 21, Putin delivered an hour-long combative speech that essentially denied Ukrainian statehood. He recognized the independence of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine where Moscow has backed a separatist rebellion since 2014 and sent so-called peacekeeping forces into the region. As experts said, that was likely just the beginning, setting the stage for a much larger conflict. Days later, that larger conflict materialized. On February 24, Putin announced he was launching an assault “to defend people who for eight years are suffering persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime,” a reference to a false claim about the government in Ukraine. Putin claimed that the Russian military seeks “demilitarization and denazification” but not occupation. He demanded Ukraine lay down its weapons or be “responsible for bloodshed.” Soon after Putin’s speech, reports emerged of explosions around cities, including Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine and the capital Kyiv. The Ukrainian foreign minister called it “a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.” By the afternoon in Ukraine, Russian troops and tanks had entered the country on three fronts: from Belarus in the north, from the east of Ukraine, and from the south.

Event venue
The Centennial Concert Hall, located at 555 Main St. in Winnipeg, has been a prominent venue for the performing arts since its establishment in 1968. It hosts a variety of local and international artists, showcasing music, dance performances, and theater productions. Home to esteemed organizations such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and the Manitoba Opera, this iconic hall is an integral part of Winnipeg's cultural scene.
I just saw Manitoba Opera's production of Puccini's La Boheme tonight...absolutely incredible! The principal cast was outstanding, as was the whole production, with awesome sets and four acts - wow! 👏 👏 I cannot wait to see The Marriage of Figaro next year, my favorite! 💕

My first experience at the Centennial Concert Hall was nothing short of magical. The venue's elegant atmosphere and the WSO's incredible performance created a truly unforgettable evening. While the acoustics could benefit from some enhancements, the overall experience was exceptional. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
Cassio R — Google review
I had such a nice experience exploring the concert hall — it’s big, lively, and full of energy! The atmosphere was truly enjoyable, and I loved being in the heart of downtown. Overall, a great experience that I’d definitely recommend!
Nusrat J — Google review
The only time you will catch me walking on Main St is heading into the concert hall. The Centennial Concert hall is such an important facility in Winnipeg. It hosts hundreds of shows, concerts/performances, shopping venues, comedians, holiday shopping adventures. I love how the last few years there’s been the holiday bazaar or an opportunity to indoor shop and see multiple vendors around Christmas time! Often we’re looking for fun things to do in this city, especially during the winter months and you can always find a great performance. I have yet to see the opera but it’s on my list.
Jennifer F — Google review
I went to watch the opera “La Boheme” I loved the room that I was just so chick and comfortable.

Beautiful venue, but parking is a major issue during events. Lots fill up fast, machines often don’t accept cards, and paying online doesn't always prevent tickets. It really takes away from the experience. Needs better parking management.
Prabhjot K — Google review
Best concert hall, saw Harbhajan Maan, punjabi singer, concert. It was literally awesome 🔥. Sound quality is very good in the hall
Dhanwant M — Google review
The Centennial Concert was a mesmerizing experience. The venue buzzed with energy as talented performers took the stage, delivering soulful ballads and high-energy dance numbers, we took the girls for the children’s season .The crowd's camaraderie, celebrating cultural diversity, was heartwarming. The grand finale was spectacular, uniting everyone in a shared sense of pride and joy. Leaving the concert, I felt grateful to be part of such a momentous event, cherishing the memories of music, unity, and celebration. Love it 😊

First time to visit. They have great building. Visits various locations inside the campus. You can see graduation photos for many years ago. Encourage graduates to go back and look for yourself. Back to your old time memories.

It’s a nice facility and usually the canteen is open, but as this was a scrambled schedule, it was closed. Plenty of parking and sadly, plenty of potholes.

Bridge
The Esplanade Riel Footbridge is a striking landmark that spans the Red River, connecting downtown Winnipeg with St. Boniface. This pedestrian bridge, also known as the people path, was constructed in 2003 and is named after Louis Riel, the founder of Manitoba. Designed by Colin Douglas Stewart and Etienne Gaboury, it features a cable-stayed structure with a transversely inclined pylon standing 57 meters above the river.
This footbridge looks gorgeous at night. It was great experience to walk from forks to the other side of the river over the bridge. It’s really safe and fun at the same time with family ❤️❤️
Kamal P — Google review
The Esplanade Riel Footbridge is awesome, especially at night or seen from a drone! I love visiting and walking around the area. It’s such an iconic and beautiful spot that really shows off the heart of Winnipeg.

Wow, what a beautiful find! The structure is very unique and it makes walking across the river very cool. You get fabulous views of the city too. Absolutely stunning spot! It's lit at night which is a better time to go.

Bakery
Tall Grass Prairie Bread Company is a renowned local bakery with two locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They take pride in using Manitoba-grown ingredients and supporting sustainable farming practices. Their menu features beloved items like the folk festival cookie and sticky sweet cinnamon buns made with freshly ground whole wheat. At their Forks Market location, visitors can indulge in popular treats like cinnamon croissants and wild rice bannock spread with butter and Manitoba Saskatoon berry jam.
Great atmosphere, great staff, and of course great food! I would highly recommend anyone visiting to come to the Forks Market and have any item offered under the menu, from desserts to sandwiches. They are all amazing. The staff is friendly, and although there was quite a long line as this place is clearly in demand (and great food), it went quick and efficient. Staff was happy and friendly easy to deal with. I am definitely coming back for the ciabatta sandwich as it looked delicious. There are also a variety of vegan options available. Thanks again, tall grass, prairie bread Company, you are a local treasure.

We tried one piece of lemon cake. Great! Soft, authentic lemon flavor but not creamy. There are many choices of breads and cakes, as well as soups and coffees. The cashier boy is nice!

I initially went to the Westminster store on the Thursday before Thanksgiving hoping to get two turkey dinners to go. While they didn't have any left, they were very helpful in locating a large turkey dinner. I went to The Forks and picked up a "large" which was huge and fantastic. It easily fed two. Every part of it was delicious, from the carrots, peas, and onions to the mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey and stuffing. All of it beautifully cooked. The turkey was moist and tender. We couldn't have asked for better. We heated the dinner in the oven as per instructions, with no fuss. I've always enjoyed their entrees and Thanksgiving surpassed all my previous experiences with Tall Grass Prairie!

One of the best bakeries in all of Winnipeg at the Forks Market in Winnipeg. The award winning cinnamons buns, to the many varieties of baked bread and the delicious pies - this bakery is amazing. This was always are favourite place when visiting the Forks with our family, friends and business partners. There are always people waiting in line or a steady flow of regular customers like us.

The Manitoba Centennial Centre stands as a testament to the urban renewal efforts of the late 20th century, marking a significant transformation in Winnipeg's landscape. Originally part of the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature, this modernist architectural gem was established to commemorate Canada's centennial in 1967 and Manitoba's centennial in 1970. Over time, it has evolved into a vital cultural institution that preserves and showcases the province’s rich heritage while embracing contemporary perspectives on history.
Boiler room is in tip top shape. Thanks for everything Mike.
