This restaurant is absolutely stunning!✨✨✨✨✨ The service was truly exceptional, and the food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The bathrooms were impeccably clean, and the spacious layout provided a peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal spot for large groups and events. The drinks menu is impressive, and the soup of the day was incredible and very filling. The halibut is a must-try if you get the chance. While the menu is geared towards high-end adult tastes, they also offer a children's menu, making it a great option for family outings or date nights. Although the prices are a bit on the higher side, it's understandable given the upscale quality. One thing to note is that parking is limited and not free, so it's best to arrive early to secure a spot and avoid a long walk, especially in heels.👠🥰

It’s a beautiful space, but the service was distracted, and the food was mixed. I was careful to order only a couple of items given the poor reviews, especially on how meat was cooked. We had the pounded cheddar, the hummus, the meatballs, and the hamburger with truffle fries. We had a flight of local beers as well and a couple of Stella Artois. All of these dishes were good. The pounded cheddar is such an appealing item, but the vinegar is really offputting. Quite frankly, I’m surprised it’s on the menu. It would take nothing to remove the vinegar from the recipe. The hummus was excellent. The meatballs were even better and the hamburger was really good.

Went to SMITH while in Winnipeg last week and enjoyed the experience. The food is excellent and the gnocchi was some of the best I've had. It was light and fluffy with a well balanced sauce and oyster mushrooms. The creme brulee was also excellent, not too sweet and with a good crust on top. Overall they have a good wine and cocktail list with decent selection. Our table was a large group and it was odd to have only one server bringing food out, eventually they had a second server help but it was after most meals had been sitting waiting a bit too long. Otherwise our server Jenna was excellent, very personable and did a good job managing a large group on her own. The space is cute with a bit of a mid-century hipster vibe. The downside is that it is very loud and the acoustics in the space are tough with high reverberation levels. Which makes speaking to or hearing those at your table very difficult. Some sound buffering materials on the ceiling would help immensely. The restaurant does close early some nights and was closing by 10pm our first night which meant we had to go elsewhere for supper due to a late flight.

The Smith is one of the only restaurants at the Forks that I would bring business clients to. Overall did not disappoint. The tuna appetizer was flavourful but very tiny, I would not order again. I had the Salmon special which was tasty, Brussels sprouts bang on and my guest said the risotto was cooked perfect. Service was great and only complaint was the martini I had. I asked for it dirty but they went overboard with the olive juice. I should have sent it back. If in the forks area and looking for a higher end restaurant, the Smith won’t disappoint.

Wonderful food and service. Tried breakfast here and the pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommended as the location is prime, atmosphere is excellent and you get one of the best restaurant experiences here in all of Winnipeg.

Always a great breakfast. Chia seed pudding is amazing and a nice big bowl of fruit. Service was fantastic as Liberty is a gem of a human.

We had a babysitter to go out for a nice dinner, and although the restaurant was almost completely empty, we were sat immediately next to the one family with a screaming baby. The food was really pretty good, however we ordered an appetizer that just didn’t ever show up. The service was extremely slow (for example, we ordered a beer before we got food and it didn’t arrive until we were finished our dinner). Essentially although food was good, it just wasn’t a professionally done restaurant experience.

What a great surprise this place was! Enjoyed their breakfast selection! Looking forward to try other food in the menu!

I used to frequent this place when I lived in Winnipeg. Now under new ownership it has lost some its charm, the Latkes have definitely changed and not for the better. The Latkes used to be cooked more and had some crispness to it. This time they felt undercooked and what happened to the original ingredients. The rest of the breakfast was okay. How can anyone really mess up eggs and toast. The service is still excellent as is the ambience. Sadly, I probably won’t visit this place the next time o come to Winnipeg.

Some of the best falafel in the city! Tastes great and is affordable and fast. The only thing is that it can get very loud when it is a packed house and hard on my elderly dad's hearing. But service is attentive and food is beyond yummy. BONUS: the VEGAN options are appreciated!

The food was great here. Everything we ordered was great. The grapefruit and orange juices are freshly squeezed to order. The only reason they are getting 4 stars in atmosphere is it was extremely hot inside. The kitchen is open to the dinning room and the stoves where extremely hot and all the fans in the restaurant for air circulation where turned off. It was like eating in the literal oven. Otherwise a good experience.

We went out for lunch one day, and said, lets go to Falafel place! Its so good! We got there akwardly waited at the entrance blocking other people from getting in, until 5 minutes later we got seated. Almost instantly we placed our orders of 3 soups and 2 Falafel Ball platters. We then proceeded to wait 30 minutes for Falafel balls, which were good, but drenched in so much sauce that you could not even taste the flavor. Then finally after 35 minutes, our SOUP came. Now, usually soup comes first at a restaurant, but who am I to judge? It was mozza ball soup and the mozza balls were raw and tasted like complete garbage. It felt like I just spent 12 dollars on hot water. Will not be coming back.

I haven’t been here in probably close to 20 years. Will not be waiting that long to go again, it’s fantastic!! The food is delicious. Prices are very reasonable with large portions. Our food came out very fast and it was hot and fresh upon arrival. Friendly staff and busy right up to closing. Go early, they close at 2 pm. I can’t wait to go back again. The yam hash mix with the Vegan Heaven Breakfast is to die for!!

This little gem is located in Fort Garry Place right beside the grocery store. I love the breakfast but everything is so yummy. The atmosphere is awesome and you will enjoy yourself!

If you want to go to some modern breakfast joint where the servers don’t care for 20% tip, you leave a bit hungry wondering if you got your value, and a side of avocado is 3$, then enjoy that. This isn’t the place for you. I wanted a real good breakfast while visiting Winnipeg for 1 day, something hearty and of value. I came here to Kelly’s and was wholly satisfied. The decor is what you’d expect from a brunch spot thats been around a while. Tried, tested and true homey. It feels like you’re in someone’s home diner and I’m here for it. Good coffee too. Kelly is a delightful host, and will no doubt tell you a story before whipping up something from her straight forward no puff brunch menu. Come for a real breakfast or brunch by someone who’s business you felt happy to support, even thought she’ll make you feel like she was happier making it than you eating it.

Great little hole-in-the wall lunch spot. The food is delicious (my go-to is the honey dill chicken wrap), kelly is so friendly and welcoming, definitely recommend you check it out!

Wish I came earlier on my trip. Great atmosphere! Delicious food! So close to the Fort Garry Hotel! Coffee is too notch. Great pricing and portion sizes. Best styled hashbrowns (grated, not diced) Kelly is friendly and caring and shows great enthusiasm for her place the food she serves. Don't skip this place! Don't forget to the daily vote! When I visit Winnipeg this isy new staple.

2 x Kelly's is a local gem. Service is great with good banter, all the locals & customers are welcomed. A lovely genuine atmosphere. And 1 x Kelly (f) cooks one of the best breakfasts this side of the pond 🤩

Kelly’s restaurant is a little paradise out of your mama’s kitchen. Amazing food hot off the grill & stovetop, absolutely delicious, served fresh with flavour for days. 🚫microwave beeping inside. Everything was well cooked. Now let’s talk about Kelly’s personality!!!! She’s sugar and spice, warm and lovely, kind and sweet. If you are a picky eater like myself, she will make your meal custom to make sure you are happy and satisfied. Oh and Denny her husband is just absolutely amazing. I will definitely keep this restaurant on my top 3 to go whenever I visit Winnipeg again.

Had a great brunch at Stella’s. Always such a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with great food and portions. Shannon was our server and she is absolutely amazing! The people here make this location a true gem!

On Sunday we had enjoyed the delightful musical ‘Afterlight’. When it was over we decided to have dinner at Stella’s, very conveniently located!! We were all familiar with the restaurant but never at this location. We experienced a great surprise. Our waitress, Patience, was very attentive & friendly. Our food was delicious & then the manager came to our table, introduced himself & made sure the service was up to our expectations. We chatted about various things as if we were friends. He was so genuinely concerned about our visit. It was the icing on the cake on a very special occasion.

This restaurant is amazing: the dishes are delicious, their ingredients highly fresh and their plates are huge!! Their choices of food and drinks are plenty and they have many possibilities of vegan meals. Cherry on the top: service is great and their terrace is a little green heaven!

I loved visiting Stella’s CCFM. The service was friendly and engaging. The ethically sourced breakfast (simply scrambled with cheddar and house made rye toast. with their homemade berry jam) was delicious and set me up for a good day. The ambience was relaxed and there was lovely sound mix playing (French - jazzy and upbeat). I want to thank my servers Shannon and Constance who made me feel welcome. Excellent parking. A quick shout-out to Andrew, the new supervisor I believe. On a packed night, his efficiency was definitely evident. He was efficient, supportive of his staff we even saw him doing some dishes at some moment, this young fellow had been everywhere at the same time and personally checked in with all the tables to ensure a perfect experience. He perfectly represents the warm and welcoming hospitality Thank you Andrew! you made our evening special. We’ll definitely come back!

Great food and wonderful people. Tyesha was our server. She was positive & upbeat and gave great service checking in on us and never letting my coffee run out. They have a great team that helps each other as we did have 2 other people check if there was anything we needed just because they were walking past us. I had the same thing I get about 75% of the time. The Pepper Jelly Chicken & Brie but I always get it with Swiss cheese. Soooo yummy. I go there often but the service was so good we asked for a manager. We spoke with Kelly. It was obvious she is proud of her team and supports them. As always, we will be back. We love Stella’s and always get good service & food. This time was just exceptional and warranted making a review.

We usually stick to our spot at the Stella's on Grant, but we had tickets for a show at the CCFM so we popped in there for a bite on Sunday. Gotta say, we were seriously impressed by the new supervisor, Andrew. What an awesome young gentleman - he stopped by every single table and didn’t miss us. Checked in on us a few times to make sure our server, the food, the whole experience was great. He’s a real gem. Went to OEB for brunch on a Friday morning. Found paid street parking just right across on Pioneer Ave. I was kinda worried about parking and lineup as the last time I was here was 3 years ago when they first opened and it was for Sunday brunch. I still reserved a table just in case. Parking was easy and no lineup. Our server was friendly and greeted us right away and seated us in a booth beside the kitchen. We have a view of Main St and we could also see the action in the kitchen which was fun to watch. I got the matcha latte and it has a strong matcha flavour and the right amount of sweetness. Then we ordered the Get Shorty Rib Poutine and the Croque Madame Crostini. Both of which were delicious but the standout is the Croque Madame. So so good! OEB is on the pricier end among other brunch spots in the city. (Our bill for 2 mains + 2 drinks is about $60.) But they have a good menu and the ones we’ve tried were quite tasty. I would love to come back and try other items on the menu. Worth a visit!

I had the best breakfast experience at this restaurant! The Get Shorty Rib Poutine was simply outstanding—tender, flavourful, and incredibly satisfying. And the Breakfast Taco? A unique twist on morning flavors that left me wanting more. Beyond the food, the ambience was refreshing and inviting, making it the perfect spot to start the day. If you're looking for a breakfast that stands out, this place is a must-visit!

Various vegetarian options! I’ve been a few times, but today I had the Shakshuka and it was DELICIOUS! I had medium poached eggs and it was absolutely perfect! The dish came with 4 pieces of toast (triangles, so really 2 large toasts) and it was quite filling! I also had coffee, which was hot and strong, which is how it should be! I highly recommend this restaurant, it’s always a great experience! A very clean and comfortable environment and great service.

Went today and got the Korean Bulgogi Benny and the Threesome! breakfast, food was fantastic. Our server Cole was extremely attentive and spent time explaining the menu to us. Overall a great experience and will definitely return

My experience was great the food was super good and all of the staff were very nice! Ezekiel taught me a game him and his friends made up which was very interesting. Olivia and Chelsea were very attentive and made sure I was taken care of. I was eating at the bar so I got to interact with the awesome people. I highly recommend this pace for a delicious breakfast and friendly environment :)

Food was great. Bring your appetite! Spectacular marble rye and herbed fingerling potatoes. Great eggs and lovely sausages. The chai latte was exactly what I needed this morning. What really made the experience special was Maddie's service. She is an absolute ray of sunshine on a cloudy day!

We tried the nutcracker themed high tea. There was a nice setup with cute little touches for the theme. There was a good tea selection. The scones were very good with a nice compote selection. The desserts were all very good tasting as well. Some of the savory items, such as the turkey sandwich, had a nice kick of flavor, while others were a little bland. I would say the high tea is definitely worth giving it a try.

A Truly Elegant Afternoon Tea Experience at Velvet Glove, Fairmont Winnipeg I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Afternoon Tea at the Velvet Glove restaurant in the Fairmont Winnipeg, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The atmosphere is elegant and contemporary, providing a perfect setting to relax and indulge. The tiered presentation of tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delectable sweets was beautifully crafted and seasonally inspired, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as accommodating dietary restrictions and the inviting ambiance that made it a memorable occasion. I look forward to returning soon to try their next themed offering!

Went to le petit chef for anniversary date night and absolutely loved it! The meal was wonderful and excellent attentive and friendly service. Would absolutely return and recommend. Fun experience. The spin on a caprese salad was probably my favourite dish surprisingly, it was amazing! It should be returning next year and we are absolutely planning on going again

Have been multiple times and always had an excellent experience at the Velvet Glove Lounge at the Fairmont. Exceptional service and wide selection of cocktails and fine eats. We had cauliflower wings that might be the best I've had. Nice atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating - serving us breakfast outside of the usual hours. Really enjoyed our visit to both the hotel and the restaurant.

Updated review: I have in the past given the Velvet Glove (Though renamed VG Restaurant) 5 stars. It continues to hold it. I went twice in a relatively short time frame. On my previous visit we were allowed to order from the new fall menu. We did Milk buns, pickerel fritters, tomato salad , Bison Tartare, Strip loin, Porchetta, Peanut butter dessert and Cake for two. The milk buns were a great highlight. They no longer serve a bread basket however. On this visit I tried the vegan menu and had the cauliflower fritters, gnocchi, boudha bowl and the cake. The cauliflower fritters and the gnocchi were outstanding. I do not believe they are on the regular menu, but I don't see why not. I am not a vegan (as you can tell from my first visit), but I think these two items would do well on their regular menu. Regardless of vegan fritter or pickerel fritter, you can't go wrong with either. I personally wasn't as much a fan of the tomato salad that night, but I think that was just personal taste. I think I have to be in a certain mood for it, as it is pickled. The bison tartare was a solid choice. I enjoyed the porchetta, but I feel it is more a sharing dish unless you have someone who very much likes to eat a lot of pork. It is a VERY large piece of meat and as much as I love meat, for myself it was too heavy. I liked the variety and the sides we received with the strip loin. Out of the desserts I was a fan of the peanut butter one, but that is personal preference. My friend ate the cake for two by herself, which I think says how good that was. Previous review ----------------------------------------- My meal tonight was outstanding. It was part of a special menu (the local authentic experience). Aside from the service going above and beyond, the food plating, presentation and flavors were all fantastic. Its been a long time since I've had a meal this good in Winnipeg (my other recollection would be Segovia which is in the Canada's 100 best list) Their price point is also friendlier than some other high end restaurants with comparable level of quality. Dinner includes parking but you do need to get it validated before you leave (Valet as well as self park). Lunch does not. Dinner is only open Friday and Saturday.

My friends and I went to the Velvet Glove for their Autumn High Tea experience. It was the first time for all of us when doing high tea and I could not have had a better time! It was so fun to be with my friends and our waiter, Rod was excellent! He was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we were taken care of. The table was set with the tea cups and saucers decorated with flowers - the kind you would expect for the occassion. Two different menus were set on the table for everyone. One for the variety of teas that they had on one side and drinks with alcohol on the other - I had the chai tea and it was delicious as well as a mimosa. The tea comes out in various sizes of teapots all unique in design as well. It's also accompanied by milk and individual mini pots of honey. The second menu showed the sandwiches and dainties that you would be served on a tower. There was six of us and each tower had pieces ready for each person to take. The food was quite yummy! The menu is set and it's $59 per person not including taxes and gratuity. Although, the gratuity is automatically added on to the bill as well, which our server told us about. A couple of us were skeptical if the food would be enough and leave us hungry, but that was not the case at all! We had leftovers and all of us were full! The Sunday that we went (their high teas are only on Sundays) it was not very busy - which was great for us! Aside from going to experience the high tea life, we were also sending off a friend who was moving and they were very accommodating and made that occassion very special. I would definitely go back to do it again! The hotel does have street parking, but they also have a parkade (Richardson Centre Parkade - googleable to map to). I used the parkade and paid about $12 for ~2.5 hrs. I believe it's $2 for every 30 mins and $14 for daily? They do not validate parking, although it would be nice if they did!

MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH This by far is the best place for Mothers Day. Yes, it is pricey but... I did not feel rushed at all. They set up the seating so that you are not crowded. They are always quick to bring you more coffee. clear your plate or bring you more mimosas... (which are included) Keep in mind this is a buffet and you need to go into the lobby to get your food but it was ALL good! The eggs benny was fantastic. So, I have not eaten here for dinner or lunch but I really felt special and comfortable for a Mothers day brunch. The ONLY DOWNFALL is the bathrooms. The toilets are way too low for anyone with need problems...

Came in with my daughter and the cafe was very busy. We asked the person at the til if we should order at the til and she said no they do table service and then pointed at a table and said you can sit. We sat down and saw another server bring waters to and take orders from 2 other tables that were seated after us. I asked that server if we could atleast have some water and she said sure but your not my table. Then she asked the person who sat us take us and she came over with attitude exclaiming how busy they were. Regardless we chose to stay and we ordered the Benedict and a French toast both of which tasted very good. Definitely some training opportunities for management to work on with the staff.

Went here with some friends, it’s a very nice cafe with a homey atmosphere. The wait staff were very polite and accommodating to all needs. I was underwhelmed by the price to value for the food. Though the food was worth while the $21 price tag for a simple black coffee and 2 slices of topped French toast makes me weary to come back.

Amazing breakfast place. We were eating at another favorite restaurant here for breakfast and we asked the server what restaurants were similar and she turned us to the French way. She suggested that the butter croissants are not to be missed. We loved the salmon, eggs, Benedict and the pecan pear, blue cheese salad, and the yogurt bowl with granola and fruit compote on top. The hashbrowns were delicious. The pumpkin slice from the bakery case was incredible. We really liked the blueberry carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Not too sweet. The blueberries were so fresh and yummy contrast. Their cinnamon rolls and garlic toast and sourdough are yummy. Highly recommend. Yum!!!

delicious breakfast!! 🫶🫶 their classic was very yummy and affordable, and their egg benedicts are perfectly cooked (not too dry, not too runny)! coffee was just ok tho lol service was great as well! the staff are all very attentive and regularly checked up on how we were doing. only complaint is that our table was lowkey sticky and could have been cleaned a bit better 😅

My husband and I went in for a quick lunch… WOW!!! So delish. I had the Dillionaire sandwich and it may have been one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had!!! Perfectly cooked chicken breast, dill potatoe chips, pickles on a tastiest freshest croissant! My husband had the Turkey Brie Crepes… extraordinary! We’ll be back!

My daughter and I had a lovely lunch at the French Way Cafe. It was my first time and won't be the last despite the fact that I live in Florida, U.S. I had pear and brie... OMG it was delicious. My daughter had an eggs benedict dish and of course we traded bites so I know hers was too. Easy parking. Short wait of about 20 minutes. Wasn't keen that the couple that came in after us got seated first - but it was less than a minute's wait. ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY!

I absolutely enjoy going to this cafe. They have vegetarian and vegan options which makes my life easy. Their food is generous and delicious. I love their coffee and desserts as well. Very good service and definitely a place to hangout with friends or just a casual catchup with family. Not good. Paid $17 to get a small cup of soup, a tiny Greek salad soaked in about 3 tablespoons of oil and a single piece of “garlic” bread. The lettuce they used had browned and the toast wasn’t even buttered. Will be going to Robins to get a sandwich as this was really bad.

An absolute gem in downtown Winnipeg. One of those "hole in the wall" places that you may never had considered had you not stumbled on it. Great service, very large portions, good price. I went with the Day Breaker for $16.99: eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon. sausage, fresh fruit and toast. Add in a coffee, taxes and tip and you're out the door for 25 bucks. Everything delicious!

Not a single other person in the restaurant and it still took over 40 mins to get our food, water glasses were plastic and old. Not the worst place I’ve ever been too but very close to it. The food itself wasn’t horrible but I wouldn’t return unless I lived in the apartment above it. I typically don’t rate 1 star unless it’s warranted.

I’ve found my new “cheat day” breakfast place when I’m visiting Winnipeg. I get the Day Breaker. The potatoes are cooked perfectly. Eggs are cooked soft, medium or hard according to your preference. Bacon is thin-sliced crispy but not over-cooked. Sausages and ham are similarly cooked to perfection. The fruit bowl is fresh. I’ve had the dine-in, the take out and delivery (Door Dash). Cannot recommend enough. I

Had breakfast at The Don Restaurant in downtown Winnipeg and it was exactly what I needed. Super cozy spot and felt really welcoming the second I walked in. The food was classic and comforting, a good home-style breakfast. My server was super attentive, and even the chef came out to check in. Just a really solid, feel-good place!

A little bit of a hidden gem in downtown Winnipeg. Great coffee and breakfast. From classic breakfast to Corned beef hash. I’ve never had lunch here but they have pirogies, and soups, burgers snd more. Highly recommend for breakfast!

I had heard good things about the restaurant but sadly I was disappointed. Possibly they were having a rough day or their regular cook wasn't working when I went: the food was just okay. I was happy to see shredded potatoes on the menu as part of the breakfast combos but some of mine arrived burnt. I tried to order eggs poached medium as part of a benedict but they only seemed to offer VERY soft or completely hard and nothing in between- I left half of it. No one came to check on the meal after it was served, coffee refills were not offered. I had to go searching for the server to pay the bill even when there was only one other table in the restaurant. Service was not rude but it was certainly inattentive. I might try it again, possibly for lunch instead, and will try to order something where others have written positive reviews about their orders. Overall, really disappointed by both the food and the service.

During my visit to Winnipeg, I walked 30 minutes to try Bronuts, which I’d been eagerly saving on my bucket list of must-try spots. The donuts are HUGE, and the dough itself is really really good—light, fluffy, and flavorful. However, I was a bit disappointed by the filling, which seemed like just whipped cream and didn’t quite match the wow factor I was expecting, given how impressive the outside of the donuts looked. There’s a huge variety of flavors to choose from, so there’s something for every taste, but I was hoping for a bit more from the fillings. The staff wasn’t particularly warm or engaging, so it wasn’t the most welcoming experience. That said, it's still a nice little café and worth checking out. Overall, it was a mix of emotions for me—I didn’t even finish my donuts, which is pretty rare for me! hahah But hey, everyone has different tastes, so I’d recommend giving it a try and forming your own opinion.

An amazing cafe, filled with magnificent donuts that made my heart pump. i thought i was going to have a clogged artery since i ate 6 donuts in one sitting, but it turns out that they were low calorie too! The workers and staff were fantastic and the donuts were magnificent. truly works of art. you may be thinking, “if they look amazing and are healthy, they must not taste good.” well, you would be mistaken. these were the best tasting donuts i have ever had. i recommend these for anyone in the area

consistently good donuts and mochi donuts. i really enjoyed the strawberry shortcake donut, not too sweet. mochi donuts were also delicious.

While I was running away from homeless aliens, I've fortunately stumbled across this specific store on purpose by accident. When I got inside, I was immediately welcomed by such pleasing aroma that turned the aliens that were chasing me (totally not because I was evadading taxes from gummy bears🤫) into these tiktok emoji ahh cute little donuts! I was then emotionally touched by thre donuts that were in my hands. Before I bit into the donut, one of them, "Cookies & Cream", told me he detected cancer in my eyelash and would like to sacrifice himself as an antidote to heal me. But in order to do that, I have to consume him as a part of the twist. So, without hesitation, I stuffed him into my mouth. I can feel the icing melting on my tounge, and the dough was just at perfect viscosity, making it the most perfect donut I've ever eaten in my sixty-seven years of living! Lasty, I want to say that I am certainly more than grateful, speaking from the bottom of my arteries, that I have got myself into this hidden gem of Winnipeg. It is truly life changing❤️‍🩹.

I ordered the Croque Madame and just look at it! Taste as good as it looks! Paired it with the mimosa flight to get my brunch started. Friendly service and wonderful establishment. It's great to see a restaurant packed with happy customers!

Had brunch with a group of girls and no one had anything bad to say. The food was delicious, the drinks were well designed and balanced and the overall service and environment was very inviting and friendly. I would definitely come back to try their lunch menu!

Cute place! Unfortunately the service and the quality have substantially deteriorated over time and the food is typically cold (3 consecutive visits in a row) and the lattes which used to be fabulous are now just steamed milk with a tea bag thrown in - no foam on top. The first time my food came ice cold the server told me they have no heat lamps to keep the food warm after it’s prepared for you - if they had, perhaps the experience would be better for guests! I am impressed that the restaurant can burn toast and still have it come out real cold!

Went for High Tea after they revamped the menu, it was really good. The manager Nicole and her staff were extremely attentive and very pleasant, would definitely recommend!

Environment and Service are nice. French toast was great, liked the combination of cinnamon bun with strawberry compote. However the egg benny was too mediocre, very bland, something you can slap together at home, don’t worth $20+ for it. One egg was cooked perfectly, the other one was cooked medium with some egg shell in it, love the extra calcium. Hash brown is the most flavoured thing on the whole plate, would not recommend this dish.

The service was amazing eventho they were super busy. We ordered food and they came quickly. However, my friend ordered something with avocado but there was no avocado 🤣 I was glad she is a chef so she knows her dishes. The server was really fast bringing the missing item so not a big deal at all lol. I didnt like the bacon so my friend finished and said it was delicious Overall, food was amazing and I will definitely come back next time when I am in town

This place, hands down, has to be my new favorite brunch spot! Located in the heart of the city of downtown with a beautiful ambiance. Servers are amazing, friendly, and helpful. Their food is top-notch they have a variety of food. Their menu seems to have travelled all over the world. Most importantly they have a Palestinian breakfast. Start of the show.🙌❤️

I'm basing my rating according to price. Food: 3/5 Kobocha Pie Latte (2/5) - it was their seasonal latte. Ordered an iced one but was very watery. Maybe they poured it hot on the ice since the ice was small when I got it and it that made it watery Sumac Chicken Fatteh (3/5) - the idea behind it as the initial flavor works well combined. The sauce was light, well seasoned chicken, decently fresh ingredients. I didn't like the execution though. Mouthfeel was not enjoyable. Thin slice of hazelnut would have been better, the chips was hard and could have chosen an aery one to turn into chips. It was very fatty too with the confit, yogurt, olive oil and chicken that made the experience worse after eating it in a while. There's also a bone left on my chicken Food was decent but not for the price. Service was just okay too. The atmosphere looks great though.

This place is a gem! You can find it in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Quaint front of the store, but the ambience was cool, vibe was easy, their service was quick and friendly, and of course, the food was phenomenal . The selections are plentiful. Their traditional delectable egg Benny, or the classic protein loaded breakfast sandwich, to their mouth watering avocado toasts, which is my personal favorite, are always the go-to choices for my family and each never fail to ensure gustatory satisfaction. Baby potatoes was a yummy side to our brunch. Pancakes are a sweet treat to cap any meal. Coffee variations are available like espresso, lattes, or teas, though my husband and I would stick to their house brew most times. Come early as sometimes the place fills up so quickly, even on weekdays, as it's a favorite lunch place of people working around the area. Nonetheless, we will keep coming back to this place.

I decided to choose a different place that they recommended it was right by the coffee bar, and was warned it was a tad windy at that spot before I sat down. A very well oiled machine!! Even gave me a sample of what was on drip!

Oval Room Brasserie We went to Oval Room Brasserie and were truly impressed. We tried the roasted beef sandwich with fries and the smoked salmon eggs benedict – both were absolutely delicious! The beef was tender and flavorful, and the eggs benedict was rich and perfectly balanced with the smoked salmon. A special thanks to Sara, the F&B Manager, who recommended the dishes — she was spot on! The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend for a relaxed and tasty meal. We'll definitely be back!

Oval Brasserie offers a beautiful dining experience within an iconic hotel setting. The ambiance is elegant, and the service was attentive. Portions were generous, making it a great spot for those who appreciate hearty servings. The food quality was good overall, though not particularly outstanding. The French onion soup, while flavorful, leaned too heavily on the salt. On the other hand, the mussels were impressive—the meat was notably large and satisfying.

Oval Brasserie is a beautiful restaurant set in an elegant hotel - the space feels refined yet welcoming. The food was excellent, from a fresh Caesar salad to perfectly cooked Arctic char and a rich, tender short rib. Service was outstanding — Sarah at the podium and Paul and Roan on the floor made me feel genuinely cared for and respected. A perfect mix of atmosphere, cuisine, and hospitality. Wonderful old school charm dining experience in Downtown Winnipeg’s Hotel Fort Garry. Seperate review for that. This restaurant was recently refurbished and renovated to bring it back to its original appearance and feel from when it opened in 1913. Great turn of the century big railroad charm and looks. The menu was excellent with a continental menu u with a bit of Italian flavors to it. Note there is a fabulous Italian restaurant called Vida in the hotel too. I had the 24 hour braised Chuck Flat. It was a generous portion and delicious. Barely had to use my knife - fall apart. Excellent potato puree and vegetables. Had an espresso martini which was very good. As well as two cocktails and both great. Also had salmon Benny for breakfast and it was excellent. I loved the crusted bread instead of English muffin. Much better. The serving staff was excellent. Had four different servers during our stay. All four were excellent. Very classy and delicious experience.

I visited Oval Brassiere for lunch and dinner on different days. The food was okay and the drinks were really good and refreshing. The prices are on the higher side, but the elegant look and grand interior definitely make it feel like a special spot. One thing to note is that the tables are quite close to other tables /chairs can hear conversations from other diners.

First time here. Its very expensive but very nice and beautiful. Ordered chicken ceasar salad. Was so delicious. Chicken was a bit hard on outside but so flavourful. Daughter ordered braised chuck flat beef steak. She loved it! Our waiter Justin was amazing. Very friendly. 5/5

The only reason why it's not five star is because of the atmosphere, it's definitely that hole in the wall restaurant but could use some up keep or new lighting fixtures. Definitely older building and you can tell. But the taste of the food makes up for it! Definitely recommend.

Update: the food is delicious but this time we ate inside and though the waitress was attentive she seemed very annoyed, not very friendly so that put a damper on our visit. My husband and I got there about 6:15ish on a Friday. The table had not been cleaned, and waitress took our order. 45 minutes later, I had to ask where our food was. Tried to order a second drink... they ran out. One of the owners just made excuses about the bad service. My husband has never left food on his plate. Burger patty falling apart, I guess they hoped the cheese would hold it together. My Greek Salad was awful, the dressing reminded me of another restaurant's Italian. Won't eat there again!

Food was delicious and hot. Server wasn't that friendly but did a decent job at making sure drinks were filled and messes were cleaned up. No kids menu and for my child wasn't much on the menu they would eat. The guy who took my payment I enjoyed his presence, he was really friendly.

Amazing breakfast!!! Crazy Hashbrowns are delicious with the portobello mushrooms and onion. Will definitely make the trek over there again!!! Affordable prices! Johnny’s on Marion is one of those places that never disappoints. Known for their hearty portions and no nonsense diner style menu, this spot is perfect when you’re craving comfort food done right. The fatboy here is legendary juicy, loaded with chili, and stacked with fresh toppings. It’s one of those burgers that’s a little messy, but worth every bite. Their fries and onion rings are always crisp, and the milkshakes taste like the ones you remember from childhood. The atmosphere is simple and old school, but that’s exactly what makes Johnny’s great. You go for the food, the quick service, and that feeling of stepping into a local favorite that’s been serving Winnipeggers for years. If you’re looking for a classic Winnipeg fatboy experience, Johnny’s on Marion is definitely one of the top spots in the city 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend!

We came to visit for dinner on a hot night soon after the restaurant’s opening for the evening service. We were seated at a two top bar table right away. Being somewhat excited to taste the food we order off the rotating menu board and the standard menu to get an idea of what this restaurant is like. Tasty. We didn’t mind but were out of water with no refills before our main course came. We had to have the previous plates cleared when food came out due to the very small size of the table. We would have stayed for dessert except the sound level was greatly increasing as diners trickled in for dinner and lack of something to drink. Great art and every possibility of a great experience. Too hot and thirsty to really enjoy.

We had a nice meal at Feast, our waitress was very friendly and helped make it a nice relaxed experience.. maybe too relaxed, as things moved very slowly. I think they run a tight ship, she seemed to be the only waitress running the dinner service, which meant there was long periods between food, drink refills and the bill. The food was solid with decent portions. I wish there was more interesting apps, many seemed similar to the mains so we didn’t really try many. We left happy and very full.

I was visiting Winnipeg and took some local friends with me who had not been before. We all LOVED it. (Images are the Saskatoon Berry Smoothie, Lemon Pepper Manitoba Pickerel and Sweetgrass Creme Brulée) Service: EXCELLENT, they greeted us as we walked in, took our order quite quickly and even let us know what was not available and that the one desert was limited so we ask for it to be put aside for us, which they happily did. Food: absolutely delicious, it felt very homey but with a fancy twist. Everything felt fresh and it was hot! Not to mention our our cups never ran dry. Always filled up with water. Vibe: Nurturing - you could tell they took pride in their food and restaurant. It was small but cosy. The servers we happy to engage in conversation with us as well. Highly recommend.

We were excited to visit Feast Café Bistro in Winnipeg and try their bison dishes — and the food truly impressed us. Everything was full of flavour and clearly prepared with care and cultural pride. However, our experience was dampened by the service. The waitress didn’t seem welcoming or friendly, which made us feel a bit out of place as guests. With such excellent food, we hope the warmth of the service can match the quality coming from the kitchen.

The staff here are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere has such a great vibe. I had the Bison Reuben and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted—flavourful, fresh, and clearly made with care. You can really see the effort that goes into every dish. Highly recommend stopping by!

Hey guys it’s Mori again but this time I came across The Nook while job hunting and let me tell you it’s a “feel good taste good” type of restaurant with speedy service and kind employees. I ordered a clubhouse and the sandwich came out in the shape of a heart (so adorable). Definitely a cute little place to take your family!!

I've been planning to visit this spot for over six months on my Google map, and yesterday I finally got to have breakfast there. I think it's worth it, because I feel like it gives you a good vibe. Their breakfast might not be the best, but I'd definitely recommend this place for a good time with your friends or family.

I visited the Nook and it has quite the history behind it. The shingled roof over the oven brought back the era of when the restaurant was an original Salisbury House restaurant and that is going back a ways. The staff were excellent and I could tell they all enjoyed their work. Home cooked meals are worth the pleasure to visit this unique neighbourhood restaurant . Enjoy!

Easily one of the best breakfast places in Winnipeg. You come here and you leave with a smile. The breakfast menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Food was fresh and greasy and tasty! The eggs were done just right. Only wish there was more scrambled egg! The staff are always smiling and super friendly. And the price is just right. If you’re coming during peak breakfast hours on a weekend then be prepared to wait in line. We waited close to half an hour but it was definitely worth it. Parking can be difficult as there are no dedicated lots. Street parking is available if you’re lucky.

We have eaten here many times! Everything we’ve ordered has been delicious and well made. The service is wonderful and fast! Today we brought home the best cinnamon buns! Support local and give this place try. You won’t be disappointed!

First time there yesterday, and can’t wait to get back. So much choice and I settled on the hearty meat skillet. Perfect eggs and cubed potatoes with bacon and ham and the turkey sausage was so good. The fresh baked dill and potato bread wrapped it all up perfect! Took home a cinnamon bun for supper desert and one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Worth the drive to Trascona but just know they close at 2pm.

Cute space. The mocha was good. The croissant was okay (not good or fresh enough for a French cafe). Ordered 1 sweet and 1 savory crepe dish. The savory smoked tuna was ok - it is exactly what it is called..a smoked tune on a crepe. The sweet crepe I ordered was the citrus one.. it was very disappointing. Ended up sending it back because the crepe was very soggy and the whole thing tasted very eggy.

We had a fantastic experience at La Crêperie Ker Breizh! The European-style atmosphere was charming, and the service was excellent. I tried a crêpe with leek curry and goat cheese—an unexpectedly delicious combination! The coffee was great too. Highly recommend!

The crepe was incredible, not a fan of the croque madam as we find the bread too big but it came with an incredible soup. The drinks we ordered was very good as well(i love the beans they have here). awesome spot in a historical building and a cool part of town. the server was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. a little on the expensive side but worth it for a good meal. bill came to 114$ without tip for lunch for 3 people + one dessert and coffees. worth taking a walk around the neighborhood afterwords. parking is not great in the area with mostly paid options only.

My sister took me here lunch for my birthday. I loved that they have dedicated vegan menu, very rare to see that!l. I had the mushroom pizza that was so flavourful ! You can tell by the food how much passion the chef has for thier food. My sister had the chicken sandwich who commented it was the best sandwich she has ever had. The atmosphere was cool with the brick, black exposed cieling, etc. I loved the paint can artwork for the space! The waitress was so helpful and friendly made you feel so welcomed. Despite the fact that the cafe is inconspicuous from the outside, there is a nice atmosphere inside, lots of space, clean, high-quality, well-kept furniture, and pleasant music in the background. The only thing I miss there is the smell of croissants baking. Overall, I'm glad to have this cafe near my house. I will definitely visit here again!

Dropped in on a Sunday evening and were the only ones in the store. We stood and waited to be greeted and served for awhile. Once we were served and paid it took about 10 minutes of waiting for our 3 bakery items to be packaged, meanwhile we are the only ones in the store… It would’ve been okay if the food was good, but the chocolate cake was very dry, sadly wasn’t great. Wouldn’t recommend coming here for good service or bakery items. However, the atmosphere was nice.

When I visit family in Winnipeg, a coffee and “dainty”meet up is a must. When this gem opened up in the neighbourhood, we had to pop in. Glad we did…it was coooool like the sea breeze! Our Barista Hailey had the best vibes. She was welcoming, suggested some fan faves and the hot drinks gave us the warm fuzzies. She also has some hot tips on music to boot! What a nice treat. Add some live music or coffee bingo nights, and I’ll be extending my visits!

Called over the phone September 3rd for a simple order. Just a a pie for September 21 for a friend’s birthday who loves Stella’s key lime pie. When I called morning of September 21 they had no orders for pie and no pie to sell. It was like pulling teeth to get the woman to at least use my phone number to search me up so I could inquire about the error. Maybe a different day or something. She just kept saying we have nothing for today and I had to get a bit firm with her to look up my number. She said there’s no order using my name or number to place this order in their records for any day at all ….. not only was this situation upsetting because my order was not placed, it was rather irritating dealing with someone who seemed unwilling to help me figure out what the issue was.

I would like to leave a sincere thank you to our waitress Jane for the excellent service! She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. Jane helped us choose our meals, always had a warm smile, and created a welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to her, our evening was truly enjoyable. Employees like Jane are a real asset to any restaurant!

Great food for a decent price. Very popular. There's a reason why they've been around for so long. Service was meh. Server food their job but seem disinterested to be there. I keep coming back for the food.

We visited from out of province and were really looking forward to a Big Boy type of burger. We had tried Nick's and Super Boys and they were closed for the Easter holiday. I hadn't been at The Red Top for over 25 years so thought I would give it a try. Service was great and the restaurant hasn't changed a bit over the years - it reeks of nostalgia which is awesome. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was good but the chili didn't have the bite that I am used to from the other two restaurants. The fries were good but the portion was much smaller than either of the other two restaurants. Happy to get my Greek burger fix but will go back to my favourites on my next time in Winnipeg.

Food was good, and portion sizes were decent. I ordered the Chicken Gyro, and I really appreciated that they offer 1/2 fries and 1/2 Greek salad as an option for a side dish! Service was fantastic. Our server was polite, friendly, and attentive. Food arrived quickly and our server checked back in a timely manner. Atmosphere is okay. If you are looking for a quick bite at an affordable price, then I recommend you check out the Red Top!

Finally got a chance to try this place out after hearing only good things! I got the ‘Mayor’ burger but substituted the ranch for tzatziki sauce which I recommend as it suited the gyro in the burger better. I also added pickles. It was delicious with fresh ingredients and crisp bacon. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; just how I like my fries. I had a bite of the fried chicken as well. It had a nice crunch to the skin with a very moist centre. I’d for sure come back and try more of the menu!

The best strawberry milkshake I've had in a long time! Lot-O-Burger was great too. Classic burger with cheese. Parking lot can really fill up during popular meal times!

Lived in St. Vital for years and never tried Red Top. I was really missing out. Took the family there during summer break, and it was fantastic. We all had burgers and they were really tasty. I specifically had 'The Mayor' which comes loaded and with bacon and donair meat. The server was super pleasant and attentive to all of our needs. Big props to the serving staff and the cooks. I will certainly be going back again! I now understand why the place is so popular.

Breaks my heart to leave a review like this but alas honesty is the best policy. We came on Easter Sunday & didn’t have to wait to be seated. I ordered a coffee and asked for creamer as the table only has milk packets- the server never brought the creamer. My partner had the smoothie, and it was tasty. I ordered the bacon gourmandise which was supposed to be one eggs Benedict with a half waffle, fruit and potatoes. I asked to sub bagel instead of English muffin and said I would take the remainder of the bagel on the side. They brought me a full breakfast plate - sausage, bacon, eggs x2, a bagel side, half a waffle. I had to ask for Benny sauce and make them myself. The bagel was not worth the sub- it was dry and flavourless. It didn’t come with fruit. I realized later she ordered me the wrong meal which of course had a higher price than the Benny version. My partner ordered a breakfast poutine with a side of fruit. He never got his fruit. So I’m not sure if maybe they just didn’t have fruit that day…? His breakfast poutine came with fries instead of breakfast potatoes and he was disappointed there. Not sure if that’s how it’s listed, it just seemed odd for a breakfast. The server was friendly enough, despite forgetting items and then charging for them. They did remove the charge for the items not received, but it really put a damper on the breakfast experience. I’d shared with my partner it was one of the best places in town for breakfast and I left feeling like I let him down. Also let myself down and will think twice before returning to B&F for a breakfast or brunch when visiting. Clean restaurant and it has a lot of natural light. Has French cafe vibes. The coffee is decent.

On my way to a corporate event, I decided to stop by this spot for brunch with a colleague and my boss. I went with my family this morning to celebrate a performance I had the night before. We weren’t sure about the place at first since we had never been before, but my mum said it was good to try something different. The food was amazing—I especially loved the potatoes and the maple butter; both were perfect. The French toast was nice as well, with decently filling portions. I got the French Toast Combo Meal, which I would definitely recommend, as I’m definitely full to the brim. The wait time wasn’t too long, and the space had a cute vibe, though it was a bit small. Overall, I’d definitely come back!

Went on a Sunday with some family and found the service to be very friendly. The place definitely has a cool vibe. I was able to catch some of the baseball game on the tv. The food was good and I thought the breakfast potatoes really stood apart from other breakfast places. The portions were generous, especially the ham on my eggs Benedict! Everyone at the table loved their food. Great selection of menu items as well.

I had a great time with my daughter. Bit noisy but you can talk. Food was amazing. Quantity is greater than appears on menu. I am very happy for that! lol.

It's a bit on the pricier side, but it's worth it, in my opinion! I had a super tasty ham and cheese curd skillet. They had a few different hot sauces on the table to try too. Everything came out quickly and was hot and fresh tasting.Our server checked in with us just the right amount of times and was there whenever we needed anything. It is sort of a boutique breakfast/lunch place with a ton of variety and lots of interesting items to try.

Such a wonderful hidden gem! We had the loveliest brunch—the food was WONDERFUL and the service was AMAZING! We will ABSOLUTELY be back!

Pretty good food and OK prices, but they do offer senior (over age 50!) dishes with lower prices, which is a bonus. The burger we got was amazing! Thick and obviously homemade, tasty fries as well. I wasn't happy with the coffee, though, much too weak for my preference, but admittedly, I like mine very strong. The staff was very friendly ❤️. There's not much ambience, and it got a little crowded but was acceptable. Would recommend.

This is one of those places you drive by and think...I've gotta try there next time! You absolutely have to stop there because you'll be really glad to find an unassuming family type place where the food is so good and the specials are really special! My breakfast order was exactly as I requested and not skimpy or burnt or dried out or soft and mushy, only delicious food not thrown on the plate. Choices, well there were about 8 different breakfast choices written out on the chalk placard when you enter! You can either get a seat and then go back and study the board to pick what you want (if it's a special) or you can have the welcoming staff tell you the specials when you get your liquid refreshment of choice! It's truly a gem tucked away behind a Shell station on Provencher off Des Meurons in a little retail mall. It's a stop you'll be happy you made, for sure!

I'm the target demographic here. Love hole in the wall, feels like I'm in a town small restaurants. Great generous sized breakfast at a reasonable price. Would recommend. Don't expect fancy or high end. It's good though and generally full.

I've tried hitting this place up for breakfast a few times now with no luck, it's been packed solid every time I've gone, so I figured it must be something special. I finally managed to get there for supper and I'm happy to report I wasn't disappointed. The place is small, but cozy. Menu is pretty standard fare, with an all day breakfast option. The entrees were large and arrived quickly. Wait staff were helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained, which for me is the true calling card of an eating establishment.

Had the beef liver and onions. The liver was still bloody. Service wasnt great. The waitress didn't care to ask to refill our drinks and just seemed annoyed at her job. I was disappointed in this visit and probably wont be back.

Edit: back and still the best for my kids. Son got the kids blueberry pancakes. They were fine. Just 5 blueberries in each. The same family that ran it before the pandemic. The prices are high and I guess it’s the forks. They make a solid breakfast

All day breakfast spot with great choices for breakfast meals. They have classic egg breakfasts and pancakes. The service was very nice, she offered up utensils and condiments. Great spot!

Danny's is my favourite place to get breakfast for a number of reasons. I love that they are locally owned, and support local farmers. The food is absolutely delicious. The pancakes are as big as your head, and incredibly fluffy. you can't go wrong! I have dined in-person and ordered through a delivery app, and each time the quality of the food has been consistent. I would highly recommend taking the time to sit and enjoy your meal there, as it may take some time for the food to be ready. The Forks is a very busy place and because there are many people that love eating at Danny's I would say this isn't necessarily a quick "take-it-to-go" style of restaurant. The food is definitely worth the wait and far better than any other competing breakfast restaurants. There are some fantastic sandwiches on the menu, so if you're not into breakfast there are some lunch type options.

I got the classic breakfast with sausages, scrambled eggs and brown bread for the toast. Seriously so good. The service was great and my food was served with a smile. No complaints about the food, the eggs were some of the best I’ve had in a while and I loved how they cooked the sausages. My friends were jealous and wished they’d also gotten their breakfasts here. Also great portion size and prices!!! I will definitely be back

This place is awesome for breakfast. It isn’t expensive at all, you get a big portion, and the food is delicious. Was greeted with a friendly smile and the food didn’t take long at all. They have a large selection of breakfast and non breakfast items that will be sure to have something for everyone

I had the pancakes and they were awful. They tasted like they were made from a cheap premade mix. In fact I've had better pancakes made from a cheap mix. How does a breakfast food place mess up pancakes that badly? A low sugar syrup option would be nice as well. I couldn't even finish my food it was just bad and disappointing.

This complex is very nice on the inside. When I visited you could hear a child running back and forth upstairs. You can hear so much in that building on the inside. I don't know what kind of building materials they used but it certainly is far from being soundproof. The visitors parking spots are so narrow you can barely get into them, which bothers me a lot. There are several times recently when I came and the snow was not cleared out and the stuff all around the garbage cans is such a mess. You would think they'd have someone come in and tidy it up once in awhile.

Maxime's is a Winnipeg staple in the restaurant industry. You have free parking. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Andrew was our server, and he did an excellent job. We never had to ask for a water or coffee refill. The food menu has something for everyone. We ordered 6 different dishes, and they all looked and tasted great. When we went to order the dessert, Andrew brought put the sample dish to show us all the options. The restaurant inside is beautifully decorated. The portions were large with an affordable price point.

Atmosphere is very good. Waiters were great. I had the prime rib, was good. Not great horseradish was non existing in flavor layered it in. I might as well used butter. Zero spice. Fries were soggy. Ate two. Waiter asked i wanted any thing else to replace them. Was so turned off. Drank coffee instead.

I got food poisoning from the lobster. It had so much of a topping I feel as though they might have been hiding something since why would a lobster tail that you dip into butter have a lot of toppings on it … anyway I was violently ill with stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea for 2 days. When I called to express my concerns the manager completely disregarded what I was telling her. She told me absolutely it wasn’t the lobster I would have known when I ate it. That is not always the case and with that much topping how would a person know if it was bad or not… the manager was very unprofessional and it was unacceptable how she handled my concern. We will never go back there and will let all our friends and family know about what happened at Maximes

We are so sad that MAXIMES is closing. My husband and I have been dining there since it originally opened as newlyweds. We have celebrated many milestones of memories as well as many other “just because we love the place dinners.” We always had amazing food and service at a great price. So sad we won’t be able to dine there one last time before they close due to high demand. There is no other restaurant in Winnipeg that comes close to Maxime’s who offers a friendly family environment and amazing food at a price anyone can afford. Wishing you a happy retirement. You will be missed.

A great experience. Our party chose this restaurant for a birthday dinner. Our server was kind, attentive, and explained the specials of the day. The menu was large and had many options. My prime rib was cooked perfectly. The toppings for the baked potato were brought to the table separately and served. It was a nice added touch. Big portions were a bonus! We will definitely return for a special occasion.

My first time here in this restaurant. I was really put off by my server and if I asked her a question then she kept snapping at me. I was very uncomfortable with her behavior. I ordered casear salad which had no cheese on it just few Romain lettuce with few croutons and lemon on the side. They taxed us on the tip part as well. Tip was added before taxes were calculated. I questioned her on it then she snapped I can remove the tip instead of answering my question. I am kind of glad they are closing down because if this is how they serve. The restaurant itself looks nice. The service was horrible.

We don’t usually go out as a family but when we do we expect high quality food and service. Our server was helpful but was constantly trying to upsell us with extras….the two pasta dishes and yam fries were underwhelming. My son’s burger was average at best. I mentioned that I didn’t enjoy my Alfredo dish and to my servers credit he took the my order of the bill. I’d give the food quality and dining experience 3/10. Didn’t get our monies worth and won’t be going back

Our server Levi was wonderful; he was really attentive and made our night special his wine recommendation was perfect and his approach to our service was just what we wanted. We were both celebrating our birthdays & the restaurant went out of their way to hand write us birthday cards, and provide complimentary Champaign. The wood was amazing . Yes ; it’s a bit pricey but you get what you pay for . Highly recommend for special occasions .

There really aren't enough words to describe how incredible my experience at this establishment was. Everyone, from the hostess staff to our incredible waiter Chris, along with the wine connoisseur Michael, were absolutely lovely and very comfortable to interact with. Sitting inside and interacting with everyone made me feel at home. The food - some of which were my first experiences of such unique dishes - was immaculate and very well portioned for how it was priced. I'm still at awe of how amazing my evening was and how it shattered all my expectations. It's an experience that anyone - local or tourist - should experience atleast once.

I was so excited to visit 529 as I had heard raving reviews about this elevated fine dining destination. I was invited and what a treat. The mansion is absolutely stunning. I learned of the heritage of the building and business and the stories made me love it even more. I had the salmon and it was gorgeous. Crispy skin, and delightfully cooked to perfection. Such a unique dining experience in a beautiful Victorian home. Service was fantastic, food was delicious and so were the cocktails! We ended up staying about 3 hours and devoured our meals only to go and explore the beautiful property afterwards. A MUST when visiting Winnipeg!

nice clean facility. our waitress Marci, was excellent. food was tasty and good size portions. gluten free bread and combining the fruit with the oatmeal was a meal in itself.

We were promptly seated upon arrival. Service was good and friendly. Food and portion size were good. We did wonder if the fruit would arrive like it was shown in the menu pictures and it did! The fresh variety of fruit is what really separates the brunch meals here from other breakfast places. Will be returning 😊

The Eggs Benedict is my regular choice here, and it is consistently delicious. The hollandaise sauce is rich and well-balanced. My only minor critique is that the eggs are often cooked a bit firmer than requested, though this does not significantly affect the overall enjoyment. Service is consistently excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is always busy, reflecting its popularity. Generous portions of fresh fruit are a nice touch, and the iced coffee is exceptional.

We’ve never been disappointed at Cora’s. Service is welcoming and quick. Food never fails. Good portions and plenty to choose from. I’ve tried the Joe, Gargantuan, Bennies, and most recently, the Brunch Burger. All great tasting. Only downfall we think is the coffee, it’s a little weak for out liking, but always refillable. Reasonably priced

Exceptional service even when very busy, super friendly staff. Marci, our server was so kind and helpful. The restaurant is very nice and clean, you can see the kitchen and the cooks working which is immaculately clean, everything and everyone is well organized. Atmosphere is great. Food was fantastic, I love that there is so many dishes with hollandaise sauce. Also a lot of unique breakfast dishes. Highly recommend. Will be coming back for sure.

Very disappointed! My love and I tried to have breakfast here on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Despite the restaurant being more than half empty, we were made to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The staff seemed overwhelmed for no apparent reason, just walking back and forth between the counter and reception. Once seated, we waited another 20 minutes, and no one even came by to take our order or check on us. We finally decided to leave to avoid further frustration and went elsewhere, where we had no issues at all. It was also noticeable that the manager—who usually keeps things running smoothly—was nowhere to be seen. Overall, a disappointing experience from a place we normally enjoy.

We went on Sunday with our family and friends for brunch. Ashley was our waitress, she was awesome. She accommodated our big group's request to a quieter tables near the staircase and frequently checked to make sure we were doing well. We stayed for a decent amount of time as it's been awhile since we caught up with our friends. Ashley was kind and let us have a great time. Other servers were also very friendly and frequently refilled our glasses. Service was awesome. There is also plenty of spaces 1st and 2nd floor to sit. We ordered breakfast and lunch menu. We enjoyed buttermilk pancakes and their beef sausages. The food is pricey for the amount you get. Also, the Stella's club came with decent amount of meat, but the sandwich was a bit dry and the portion was small. The fries that came with French omelette was not good, it also had different spice mixture causing unique smell which we didn't like. Overall, all servers were very friendly and hardworking, restaurant is big and comfortable. The food was OK, but on the pricey side.

Atmosphere is delightful, Jazz playing lightly in the background. Large windows to giving you a beautiful, enjoyable view. Service was gentle, nice. Food did not live up to my expectations. Food had gotten cool half way through my meal and cold before I finished.

It all tasted consistent compared to the other Stella's. Dragon bowl was overly sweet with the beets. I recommend getting a protein with it. Seasonal pumpkin cheesecake, decadent. Service pretty good. Nice vibe. Summer offers an outdoor, rooftop patio for seating.

Love the cozy lounge type atmosphere in the evening. Great service and the manager I believe his name was Toby, came to check up on us as well. He was very welcoming and assured a great evening for us. We will definitely come back because of the service we had.

Coulld have been better. Was in close proximity to our hotel. We asked for crispy hashbrowns, so thats on us. My eggs and yoast were cold, i mean like really cold. The toast had no butter and none served or on tavbe. We were tucked back in a corner by the stairs and the wait for our waitress to come back to take our order was around 10 minutes. She was a little nore attentive after soneone else ended up taking our order. Food prep time was slow too, probably sat in window, therefore my cold food. Had it been brought right away, probably would have been good.

Got a cinnamon bun and it went hard as a rock in 20 minutes. Not to mention there is barely any sugar/glaze on them at all. They should call them bread cinnamon flavored rolls.

Bakery had a very nice vibe to it inside! Seating outdoors is available, which makes it a nice day visit! The atmosphere and staff are great however wasnt a big fan of the high prices and quality wasnt the best on what we had ordered. Wouldnt return again as the cookies are bland and dry, kind of a let down.

Located in a hipster and area of character. Mainly street parking, which generally isn't too difficult in the residential mix area. Service is the only hindrance. I'd still return.

Now my third time shopping at this location. Always trying different items and never disappointed with the choices. Made fresh with local ingredients. It is one of the best bakeries in Saint Boniface. Follow the signs on the right as you drive past the gas station. Tall grass prairie bakery is located at the far end of the stores.

Nicely tucked away in the neighbourhood, we picked up. Loaf of sourdough, chocolate chip cookies and. Cinnamon bun that my son just inhaled.

Went today to grab a Salmon Benedict to go, plus a couple of other food to go. Spent 89$, I finally open the take out box to enjoy my meal, to my surprise I find this sloppy soggy thing that resembles a breakfast but really far from it. It is supposed to be sitting on 2 baguette slices, I will post pictures of what I actually got (I added one with my fingers to show the actual size of them). The look of it and the sound when I move the food around reminds me of wet dog food. What a disappointment when only this dish, after tax, is almost 30$. Never coming here again. Not to mention that it almost took longer to get my cappuccino than for the food to be cooked. PS: I did taste it, and it tasted just the same way it looked, literally dog food.

Disappointing Experience at Stella’s (Grant Ave Location) We walked into this Stella’s and stood right in front of the “Please Wait to Be Seated” sign. Several staff members saw us, made eye contact, but not a single one acknowledged us—not even a simple “hi.” The restaurant was not busy at all, with plenty of empty tables and booths, so there was no reason for the delay. It wasn’t until we kept staring at one of the servers that she finally approached and asked if we wanted a table. We ordered cheese toast as a starter—one of the few options available—but it was dry, hard, and barely had any cheese on it. I ordered a coffee that didn’t get refilled until I had to repeatedly flag someone down. We both ordered the Chicken Brie sandwich. We’ve had it before at their Provencher location, where it’s done really well with flavorful sauce. But here? Completely bland. The potatoes burned and the sauce was barely there, and when we asked for hot sauce to add some taste, they brought us a container so small it wouldn’t even cover two bites. To make matters worse, we were served by at least four different people. No one seemed to know what we ordered or what was going on—no communication, no consistency. No one checked in to see how things were going either. And at the end, we got the payment machine with the tip screen—how do you expect a tip when your service is this poor? Not even a “thank you” or “have a good day.” I don’t recommend this location. From reading other reviews, it seems like these issues have been around for a while and nothing’s been done to fix them. Unless they make serious improvements, I won’t be coming back.

We were celebrating our anniversary at Stella’s and I had the Mexican Breakfast and Stella’s smoothie, and my wife had an omelette and café latte. Ana was our server and she was wonderful and attentive. I highly recommend Stella’s, especially the one on Grant. Wonderful service and inviting atmosphere!

First time here and so disappointed. The servers might be having a bad day. We waited for 10 mins for a table, it’s all good, but the thing is they pass us by multiple times without saying anything. No ‘we’ll be with you’ no ‘good morning’ just blank stares. The Jambalaya I ordered is not the same anymore, we used to get this at Sherbrooke and the Main Street location. It was soupy and the rice was soggy. When we left, the servers were at the entrance and said nothing, no ‘thank yous’ or ‘ty for coming’. What happened? Disappointing. Do better.

We ordered the carbonara and key lime pie. The pasta had mushy noodles, not very flavourful either. The key lime pie was topped with a lemon… lol. It was also topped with what appears to be aerosol whipping cream you can get at any grocery store…which is fine I guess. But the flavours and the texture were just not good, I actually couldn’t finish it. Atmosphere is decent, service was good, it’s a shame but I won’t come back.

We had a lovely lunch at Stella‘s yesterday. My sister-in-law ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp and she was over the moon. It was delicious. I could tell she was so happy. My husband had the chicken sandwich. I forgot what it was but it was so delicious he loved it. His plate was basically empty. He had a spinach salad with it. It was divine. He loved it. I ordered the BLT and a Caesar salad. Caesar salad was delicious not too garlicky… Most importantly, The lettuce was crisp and fresh… I do, however, have a critique about the sandwich. If I was making it, I would cut the chicken thinner. It’s good Chicken. It was delicious, but I brought half of my sandwich home and i easily cut the chicken into thinner slices. The multigrain bread was toasted perfectly, and that was great. The lettuce in the sandwich was not too wilted It was good .. I would use arugula. the piece of cheddar It was good no complaints. The bacon was not cooked properly. That half a sandwich I brought home. I cooked the bacon a bit more in my microwave because there was fatty parts on the bacon that we’re just not cooked properly and in my opinion when you build BLT bacon needs to be perfect crispy and the chicken needs to be cut thin distributed evenly in the sandwich so every bite has everything.. we love Stella we generally go to the one on Henderson highway, but this time we went on grant so we could meet my husband sister because it was closer to where she lives .. overall, we really do love Stella‘s and we will keep coming back. I just wanted to let you know about how to build a perfect BLT sandwich. I never have tomato on a BLT. I know it’s in the name but tomatoes most of the year are horrible and tasteless and just sog out a sandwich. Here’s an idea …twist it up a bit. Call it a Stella’s stellar twisted up BLT. Add a few basil leaves. No tomato.. arugula. Perfect bacon. The same chicken but sliced thinner.

Well what a disappointment. We used to go here all the time. Gone down hill big time. Service was terrible. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. It took a good 10 minutes before anyone actually acknowledged us. The pancakes that used to be delish I’m sure are bisquick pancakes and everying was cold our soup our food and when a fly helped himself to a taste of my London fog. I just wanted to get up and leave. The lady who came in long after us got served so quickly and I’m sure she got a facial from the steam coming off her soup. This was a terrible experience! Don’t go

Tasty was great, not soggy, and not too crusty. It's not too pricey. Price to quantity and quantity. The ambiance is nice. It's definitely worth a try. Too sweet first bite will make you feel heaven. The next one can take you there, haha, overall 9.5/10. 0.5 deducted if they had a cinnamon powder option.

The pretzel are amazing as well as everything else. The cakes are flavourful but not too sweet. And the sandwiches are simple and delicious on there crusty buns!

For the german breakfast: dry outside of ham and cheese. The "german" bakery and no german bread quality. Too soft I will not recommend it

First time here. Tried the turkey sandwich on the roasted pumpkin seed bun. It was fresh, tasted good, and had a nice crunch. I highly recommend giving it a try. I also tried some sweets (black & white cookie, jam buster donut, train track etc.) and pretzels which were also very good with homemade ingredients. This location is neat as you can see the bakers as they work through a window. I would go to this bakery again.

A great local bakery and it’s a GEM. They have a good selection of baked goodies which are all baked in house. They also offer a variety of fresh made soups and sandwiches. The unique flavour and texture hits all the high notes and much more.Their staffs are friendly and their passion for baked goods shows in the quality and taste.Support this local business and treat your tastebuds at the same time.

The food at this restaurant was great, and so was the quality. But unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. I felt like I didn’t belong there—as if this place wasn’t meant for brown people. What made it worse was that the server, who was also brown and Indian, came across as racist in her behavior. Her attitude was rude and dismissive. I was exhausted after a long day, and instead of feeling welcomed, I was made to feel like I came from a different universe. I later noticed that a table behind me received excellent service from the same server, which made the experience even more upsetting. I chose this restaurant because of all the positive reviews. But if there’s any kind of bias or issue with certain customers, it should be clearly stated at the entrance. At the very least, no one should be made to feel uncomfortable or looked down on. If staff members have trouble treating all customers with respect, then proper training is absolutely necessary. Please take this seriously, because no one deserves to be treated this way.

Out of town friend met up for a bite here. Staff were friendly and attentive to our needs, and did not try to rush our meal ordering or the meal. I had the pot roast melt sandwich and fries, fully intending to bring 1/2 home as leftovers. It was delicious and I ate the whole thing! My friend equally enjoyed her omelet meal. Staff were attentive to beverage refills and allowed us the time to enjoy our visit. I'd like to thank them all for this pleasant meal there. I will be back again!

Waited over 20 mins just to get our order than another 40 mins to receive our COLD food. Hopefully they can do better for others.

I have dined at The Original Pancake House 3 times in the last 2 months, and highly recommend it if you are looking for a satisfying breakfast. My favourite is the French Toast Benny. The eggs were cooked to perfection and I really appreciated the pan fried potato accompaniment. The server was polite, friendly, and attentive. It was extremely busy and yet he provided excellent service. The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing and energetic. A great place to go with a larger group.

I got the Country Breakfast and my partner & his friend got the Super Deluxe. Eggs were an additional $0.50 which is pretty cheap. The vanilla oat milk latte was pretty good. My partner said the pancakes were really good. The bacon and sausage were good but cut really big it was hard to eat in the bowl. One guy’s ham was cold and one was not, kinda strange. Hollandaise sauce was fine, nothing special. I thought the potatoes were horrible. Completely undercooked like actually the worst hash browns I’ve ever had. Coffee was refilled quickly and service was quick. Amount of food to price was good and the price made up for the 3/5 food. I would steer clear of the savoury breakfasts to avoid the hash browns and stick to the sweet ones!

Sweet comfort spot. I had the pancake flight, it was really good, but I really wish they had a combo option for this dish (add eggs:hash:meat)… when I asked to upgrade for the extra $5.99 they said it wasn’t allowed… but every other section of the menu advertised it. Oh well I guess. Like I said the pancakes were still amazing.

I had the signature giant apple pancake today which is always outstanding, but what stood out today was the excellent service by my server Rachel. She was polite, engaging and very attentive, always with a smile. She seemed like she really enjoyed her work and making sure her customers were well looked after. She’s been there as I found out for 15 years and still doing “service with a smile”. That means so much and goes a long way to customer satisfaction. Keep up the great work Rachel, you are awesome!! I complemented her manager about her pleasant personality and service.

Buffalo chicken pizza was apparently really good, as well as the cheese pizza. My meatless lovers , a bit dry, while not at the same time, not anything I’ll order again personally. Honestly probably won’t come back as this is a ridiculous price to pay IMO. Service was basic for counter ordering, tables were visibly dirty.

Just 2 hours back; Via doordash, I ordered two medium pizzas and a dip with the pepsi……and all they sent me the stuffed bread with the meat ( Imagine being a vegetarian and receiving the non veg food) and on top of that ……they didn’t even give the receipt to the dasher even when he asked for that still they said its not allowed…..then the poor dasher took the pic of the food and sent it to me right away so as to confirm if its the food i ordered because he did check the order that its 2 medium pizzas which wasn’t there …..the staff handed over him something else without the receipt. The staff didn’t even bother to call the customer that whatever you order we can’t make it or process it so would you like anything in the replacement?? NOOOOOO they didn’t do that…….if there would be any option to give the score in negative I would do that …..don’t even deserve a single star…………SCAMMERS

Tried this location for the first time to try their pizza. We had the halal deluxe (garlic crust) and barbecue pizzas. The crusts were thin, had a nice crunch, and I especially like the added kick from the garlic crust. Loved the halal deluxe. It had fresh ingredients and good flavor/sauce. The barbecue pizza was okay but I prefer other types more. I would definitely have pizza here again.

I have to say this is very good food. The calzones are good and the pizza is good. The price is worth it, the only thing is I wish the calzones were bigger and wider. I found my new favourite place. It is heaven.

My mom and I dropped in for lunch to try Luda's reuben sandwich after reading so many good reviews. Unfortunately, we were both a tad disappointed. As huge reuben lovers, we found this one tasted a bit weird and "off." I can't pinpoint what might have been wrong, but we won't be back for this specific sandwich. I will definitely be back to try other breakfast menu items, though. Customer service was great and we both loved the vibe. I'd highly suggest a much bigger sign that you're CASH ONLY. With everything else going on, it was not apparent at all that this establishment does not accept cards... and the employees don't mention it while taking your order. I can see this being a really embarrassing situation for non-regulars.

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!! Grabbed a clubhouse sandwich for lunch. Didn't eat in just ordered ahead for pick-up. It's a very cute little place. The staff and service were amazing! There were quite a few people enjoying lunch. Next time, I will definitely sit-down and look over the menu. My sandwich was fantastic though!

Wow wow wow!! The Reuben is as good as everyone has told me. (I ate the other 1/2 before I could stop for a picture ) Homemade mushroom soup was divine. Ludas is a quaint little spot. The food coming out of there is incredible. Must try, if you haven’t been there.

First time ever being at the restaurant and it was a great experience the food was so delicious I ordered the Ronnie omelet

We had heard many times about Luda’s but had never gone there. It’s a cozy place, with many ‘regulars’ popping in and out. The menu has lots of choices to choose from. Something for everyone. We both had a monte cristo sandwich and shared a mountain of fries. All of it very good. It’s a tiny kitchen but it’s a well oiled machine. Our server was very attentive and friendly. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

My goodness this place is a treasure. Where else are you going to find such friendly service, pushing tables together to accommodate our bigger party of 9, having breakfast specials for under $9 with the amount of food that’ll leave you feeling full for the day! Everything fresh and full of flavour. We will be returning in the future because YUM!!

I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. This place is AMAZING! Busy from open to close, don’t be surprised if you have to wait…but I promise you it’s worth it! Everyone there, including the customers, were so friendly and kind. A true family feel. We both had the Ronnie Omelette, the ham was PILED in the centre. Cant wait to go back and try more things. Amazing place with delicious food! This is now my favourite bakery in Winnipeg! Desserts are really tasty and without a lot of sugar (unlike in many bakeries in Winnipeg). The assortment is huge. But I came 2 hours before closure, so better to visit it earlier.)

I was visiting Winnipeg from out of town and I happened to come across this bakery on Google. I ended up going for breakfast. Overall, service was great, baked goods were fresh and delicious, and it was a great way to spend a calm morning reading a book and drinking their iced latte. I highly recommend it!

Biking thru this coffee shop many times so I decided to try them out. The line was crazy lol but staff was super nice and patient. I grabbed a matcha latte and a small bakery. It was super tasty and I will definitely come back next time. Keep in mind, there are not many seats tho

Small but mighty is the best way to describe this unique little bakery in the heart of St. Boniface. I have been a regular at La Belle Baguette for 3 years now ever since i moved into the neighbourhood. Every single time I come, I am met with exceptional customer service without fail. The girls are always smiling and getting to know everyone and making a personable lasting impression. The pastries speak for themselves but they are marvellous, every. single. time. With new feature items every month they keep you on your toes. They switched ownership to Empty Cup about two years ago and initially i was worried they’d clean house and switch the recipes, but to my excitement they kept a great thing great. Looking forward to many more visits to get my daily dose of La Belle Baguette.

This is my favorite place for baked sweets in Winnipeg. They have an amazing selection and are reasonably priced. Only thing to take note of is if you want to take advantage of their selection, show up early! La Belle Baguette is well loved and will occasionally run out of select items quickly, though if you ask them if they'll be making more of a specific item they will let you know and you can put an order to pick up at a later time.

Great bread and pastries. It reminds me of my time in Paris. It’s funny because this bakery is very similar to the good boulangerie in Paris in terms of space and how busy it is.

The food here is undeniably excellent. However, the customer service is severely lacking. Staff appear disengaged and unwelcoming—basic courtesies like eye contact or a simple greeting are ignored. One of the counter attendants was particularly unpleasant, showing no effort to acknowledge customers or create a positive atmosphere. Regardless of how good the food is, such poor service makes the overall experience disappointing. In contrast, Le Croissant offers not only great food but also genuinely warm and attentive service. The difference is night and day. Wont be coming back here anymore. Their service adds stress to my already stressful day. IF YOURE LOOKING TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY WITH A SIP OF COFFEE AND NICE CROISSANTS, DONT COME HERE.

We wanted to try this historic restaurant while we were in Winnipeg. I had the chili Nips and my husband had the BBQ Nips. We shared the wafer pie. Everything was just ok, nothing spectacular. The restaurant looked dusty and not cleaned in a while. Service took forever, even though they didn't seem busy on a Wednesday afternoon.

A cozy place to enjoy a hearty meal without breaking the bank. Coffee kept coming, and the atmosphere was warm with lots friendly chatting around.

It's been well over 10 years since I have eaten from Sals. I ordered for pickup and was suddenly unable to do so. I called the restaurant and they brought it to me. So kind of them. It really helped me out. The food was great. The wafer pie was exactly how I remember it, delicious! This is the BBQ Bacon cheese burger.

It was really busy with a waitlist, but my order came out exactly as requested and the service was great. The taste was just okay.

Here a year later and just as lovely!!! Darlene and Ken are enough to draw you here often. Highly recommend this location in particular! Incredible experience! Darlene was my server this morning and I will go out of my way to visit this location just for her. Every one there seemed very friendly. Many regulars, which says a lot about a place.

Edit That sals is well run! The waitresses can bring food and refill entire sections with coffees and cream. We think the food is fine but love the service. We usually bring board games and stay for an hour since we get our food in under 10 mins Went two days in a row. They remodeled for COVID, but didn’t feel invasive. This place is great the manager runs it so well and knows every customer. Feels like the local dinner it is. We know all the waitress’s and they are really great. They are super busy but never let a table feel neglected. All around good spot. Our kids love the pancakes and potatoes. We just enjoy the great service and classic eats.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this coffee shop and can't recommend it highly enough. The food was phenomenal. Went back for the first time in four years (because I don't live here and hadn't visited in that time), and this place is still solidly great. I always used to take my Grandma here before she passed away. We could both find food and drinks we each loved, despite having very different dietary preferences. Lots of good memories here for me. It's reassuring when a place keeps up their quality and menu. If it's not broke, don't fix it! Anyway, all the food and drinks I've ever had here were great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it's a nice atmosphere. Definitely the place to go for breakfast, lunch, coffee/tea in this area!

One of the best coffee shops in Winnipeg. The coffee is always amazing and they have an delicious house roasted chicken sandwich which I highly recommend. The staff are consistently polite and efficient, especially Hunter who gives excellent service. Highly recommend for students who are looking for a place away from home to study or for anyone looking to grab a coffee to catch up with friends and family.

I have visited this café several times before. The coffee was always average but not bad. However, when I came a few days ago, I was really disappointed. The coffee tasted terrible, and the plant-based milk completely ruined the flavor. I told the barista that I didn’t like the coffee and asked if there was anything we could do about it. He said no and turned his back on me. I waited politely until other customers placed their orders and then explained again that the drink tasted bad. He asked if I had tried their coffee before, and I said yes, I had visited the café a few times. Then he asked what I wanted, so I said either a refund or a replacement of the same value. He clearly seemed annoyed, and after a long wait, I finally received a new drink — but it was a small one instead of the large one I had paid for. I didn’t say anything further because my Sunday morning was already spoiled, even though I had hoped to spend it in a cozy atmosphere. Also, I personally don’t like it when desserts are served wrapped in plastic film — it feels cheap, and I could have had the same experience at home. P.S. I understand students might be working here, but please train them to prepare coffee properly rather than just pouring milk into coffee, adding foam with a spoon, and calling it a cappuccino. And please consider changing the almond milk brand because it really affects the taste. On the positive side, the atmosphere itself is lovely and cozy.

The food and drinks are great! Everything seems very fresh and I've never had a bad experience with the food. I'm only giving three stars due to the cleanliness of the coffeeshop. Every single table was dirty, had leftover crumbs, or had a plethora of fingerprints all over it. This was visible across the restaurant from where I was sitting. For the entire duration I was there which was about 2 hours, not one staff member came out to wipe tables down. I found this very odd as it was not busy when I attended, and the person who took my order at the front had 3 other staff members standing behind them waiting to see what I had ordered. There is a notice in each booth that states that during peak hours you have to make a minimum purchase to sit there and that there must be more than 2 people to sit in the booth. I would hope that since they're asking customers to be respectful of their notices, that they also keep the tables clean!

$15 buffet. 11-2pm Tue-Fri. Roast beef, potatoes, cabbage rolls, meatballs, veggies. Salad, fruit and veggies bar. Great service and friendly staff. Will go again for sure!

We had the buffet and that was a joke. The supposedly hot food line was at room temperature if that, I'm sure that the proper temperature is not maintained. Also the food was low quality and flavorless with not much appeal. The salads were ok . Some desserts were ok but some were recycled and had refrigerator taste which is gross. Overall would not recommend.

Nice place for small banquets and conferences. Good breakfast goodies and coffee. Hard to drive to, and even harder to find parking spaces - but if you do, it's great!

My family of five stopped by this hidden gem on our quest to find the best matcha in Winnipeg — and we’ve officially found it! 🍵 They use sweetened matcha powder (the norm around here), but thankfully don’t add any syrups — which we can’t stand. The barista whisked it properly with water at just the right temperature — not too hot, not too cold, just perfect. We went with soy milk, and the head barista pulled off some kind of magic trick — one smooth pour and boom, latte art appeared out of nowhere. Absolute wizardry. They also had a tempting selection of fresh pastries — especially the chocolate and almond croissants, which were heavenly and disappeared way too fast. Cool vibes, friendly staff, and easily the best matcha latte in the city. Definitely a must-stop for all matcha lovers!
