Restaurant
Magic Bird Fried Chicken is a must-visit spot in Winnipeg's West Broadway area, offering a unique and innovative take on classic fried chicken. The homemade recipe twists result in flavorful and tasty chicken from the crispy coating down to the bone. The menu boasts a variety of options, including fried chicken, chicken strips, and sandwiches, all served with generous portions and amazing flavors. Customers rave about the large portions of curly fries and unique honey dill sauce that accompany the dishes.
Finally got to try the chicken here. Amazing !!! My brother got the fried chicken and the chicken strips and he loved both and he's fussy. Me and my boyfriend got the chicken wizard sandwich. The pickled jalapenos were amazing. We got the got nuve heat but next time I'm going for the hottest they have. I also picked up a bottle of their scotch bonnet and Carolina reaper sauce. Great heat and kick with a touch of sweet. Goes amazing on chicken wings. 10/10
Loner M — Google review
My daughter ordered chicken fingers and was given a very large portion of curly fries and a unique honey dill sauce. I ordered the classic chicken burger which was good. We ordered medium spice fried chicken and it too was very unique tasting and the chicken is all very good. A side of cheesy fries but I thought the cheese sauce was just a bit bland. Its too bad dine in had not been available. (I think due to space and Covid they couldn’t have that option.) by the time we could eat it at home -the steam had made everything a tad soggy. No fault of the owners, we will give it a try again when we can eat in, or when we can grab a picnic table and enjoy it right away. Will definitely support this local guy again!
Turbo C — Google review
Hard to find as there is no large sign, just a menu in the window (thanks for helping us find our way Google!). Was one other patron when we got there. It is very dim, so bring a flashlight! Ordered two chicken sandwhiched and wings. Food was not good overall. We asked for spicy and we got it (good job to this!) Cold Mike's hot sauce was killer hot but had no flavor. Seems the chicken breading is bland. terrible. Same with the chicken sandwiches. Husband ordered the Reuben but was disappointed, as the sauerkraut was served cold on the burger. Also, both burgers had fridge cold buns, which were firm and not enjoyable. Fries were enjoyable as well as the macaroni salad. Service was great (however i asked for pickles on the side and this did not happen), server was very friendly and food took an average amount of time. Bathroom was super disgusting and smelled terrible. Free refils on soda, so that was nice! Wont go back but if you like spicy wings, id say to give it a shot for that only.
Jason S — Google review
Delicious! Total hole in the wall but great wings, tasty sandwiches, and interesting combinations. The Cold Mike’s hot sauce is killer. Spicy and flavourful!
Carolyn — Google review
Went for wing night. Great wings for decent price. The 'Scorcher' is doable but super hot. Chili heads can probably handle it no problem. Cold Mike's hot sauce is even hotter but I didn't try. Will return.
Justin M — Google review
Juicy chicken but not a real fan of the breading. The green stuff is their honey dill sauce. (Couldn't figure out what the extra flavor besides honey & dill was) Prices are good. $33 for 2 chicken finger dinners, a draft beer and a pop. On our way out I could see ppl had their chikfingers with the sauce all over them. Perhaps we should have tried it.
Melissa S — Google review
Was really excited about trying this place after seeing all the reviews. We ordered two different chicken dishes. Not sure if this was a one time thing or people just prefer chicken like this but the breading was the thickest and hardest breaded chicken I ever had, not crispy but rock hard. It was so hard that chewing the skin made this nails on chalkboard feeling against my teeth. The meat was not as tender as it could be. The spicy powder they use is pretty interesting, doesnt kick in till a bit after but bearable. Favourite part was the honey dill sauce, tastes like they grind the dill and mix it with the sauce, very refreshing. But overall probably will not go back for their food again.
Itme L — Google review
A friendly eating experience with a unique and tasty chicken menu. Good selection of IPA's and other beers to complement the meal. Will definitely be going back to try other chicken delights.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Winnipeg, The Tallest Poppy is a delightful eatery that offers a creative twist on classic comfort food paired with expertly crafted cocktails. This colorful, artsy space invites diners to indulge in hearty meals that are both satisfying and innovative. Although it has transitioned from its original two-room setup focused on lunch and brunch, The Tallest Poppy has found new life in a better location, allowing it to flourish.
Small, hipster spot. Not too hipster but more of a calm and collective atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive. However, they seem short staffed. The food is amazing. Not pictured in the review was their burger, which the waitress stated would change our day/life. This it did! It was, with all other dishes just a great culinary experience. I will definitely come back here, and recommend anyone in the area or visiting,to stop by, you will not be disappointed.
JOHANNA A — Google review
The environment is pretty nice, I like the paintings and other decorations, staff are friendly and helpful. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles and I was a little disappointed with how crispy the chicken was but all in all it was still good. The mac and cheese though, that was one of the best I've tasted from a restaurant!
Finn J — Google review
This place is great. Hands down, the chicken and waffles (with two eggs on the side) was the best meal I've had at a restaurant in a long time. I'm not great with names, so I can't remember our server's name, but she was great. She offered drink suggestions since they were out of what we wanted, and they were really good. I feel that she was perfectly attentive, sometimes you get servers that come by too often, or not enough. But that wasn't the case. Both her and the girl who cleaned our table and seated us were very friendly. To say the least, our experience here was deserving of a good tip. This is one of those restaurants I'm going to have to keep note of, I'd like to come back and try some more of the menu very soon.
Ethan M — Google review
I'm surprised that I haven't tried this place yet as I always passed by this area. It's a nice place to have brunch with friends. Though the service might be a little slow as most of the time they are busy. But thumbs up for the servers!
Chi — Google review
If you're craving fried chicken, this is the place to go! I had the Chicken and waffles and let me tell you, it was the best fried chicken I've ever had! So crispy and yet so flavourful, my mouth just drooling. And who would have guess it'd go so well on a fluffy Belgian waffle with Blueberry syrup?! The tallest poppy knew! Now add little hot sauce and you've got yourself a delectable orgasm for your tastebuds!
Shay — Google review
Get the fried chicken! I had the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw—dang delicious. The fresh cheese bread and super crispy chicken make it next level. A creamy peppery coleslaw cut it perfectly. My wife enjoyed the motza soup with mashed potatoes, which she reported was really good, but she kept picking off my meal ;) Atmosphere is very funky and a bit bohemian with great wall art around. Friendly casual servers, limited beer selection but full bar. Eclectic music playing. Great spot!
M P — Google review
First I must say I love the huge selection of hot sauces on the table. Also love the random eclectic mix of chairs and tables. Nothing matches and it’s done intentionally. Makes it a great hole-in-the-Wall breakfast joint. Would definitely come back. The menu is also hilarious with some not-so-common options like “Breakfast Of Champions.”
Jonathan K — Google review
Came here twice on my visit to Winnipeg. The first night we came with a large group and the restaurant was more than accommodating. I got the fried chicken dinner and it was pretty amazing. (no pics) The second time we came for brunch but with a smaller group. It was Sunday, we knew it was going to be busy so called ahead to make a reservation because we had a baby. They don't normally do reservations but made the exception cause we had a small child, so that was a bonus. I had the kale fry with a side of sausage and it was really decent (the cheese bread was so so good) . Coffee there is also pretty good. Thank you Tallest Poppy for making my trip to Winnipeg even more enjoyable :)

Cibo Waterfront Cafe is a trendy bar and eatery located in a historic pump house along the Red River, offering stunning water views. The restaurant features a Mediterranean-inspired menu with must-try items such as truffle fries, wood-fired pizza, and grilled ribeye steak. Its unique setting within the restored heritage building creates a cozy and rustic atmosphere with exposed brick walls.
The food was fantastic, we had drunken mushroom pizza, beef steak, lemon alfredo, and deep fried calamari dish for sharing. We sat in the upper deck by the windows with a nice scenery out there. The service was excellent as well.
Leanne Z — Google review
awesome spot in a historical building and a cool part of town. the server was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. a little on the expensive side but worth it for a good meal. bill came to 114$ without tip for lunch for 3 people + one dessert and coffees. worth taking a walk around the neighborhood afterwords. parking is not great in the area with mostly paid options only.
Riel — Google review
Had a wonderful supper here for a date night. Great service, attentive and helpful and our order was amazing! All very delicious! It's in a lovely location right next to the red river and has a very lively atmosphere which can get very loud. We shared the bruschetta and calamari, both were excellent! Definitely recommend visiting here!
Cortney J — Google review
My sister took me here lunch for my birthday. I loved that they have dedicated vegan menu, very rare to see that!l. I had the mushroom pizza that was so flavourful ! You can tell by the food how much passion the chef has for thier food. My sister had the chicken sandwich who commented it was the best sandwich she has ever had. The atmosphere was cool with the brick, black exposed cieling, etc. I loved the paint can artwork for the space! The waitress was so helpful and friendly made you feel so welcomed. All in all it was a great experience and super impressed with everything this restaurant has to offer.

I dream about these mussels daily. The sauce is absolutely delicious, we nearly fought over them at our table. The arancini balls are a great portion size and very comforting as well. Great atmosphere, excellent service. Appetizer options are great. Try a bruschetta flight!

Have been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time and I understand the popularity of it now! The pasta was great and they have a patio outside. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time because the restaurant gets really full

Had a little birthday dinner here with my friends. Everything was lovely! The food, the ambiance, our server. I’m mostly obsessed with the ceasar salad that comes as a side with the burger. It was so so so good! And the hazelnut latte was the best! Will definitely be back. Take my money lol

JOEY Polo Park offers delicious food and a luxurious atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean and safe. The price for food can be a bit expensive, but it is worth it for the deliciousness of the dishes.
I had an excellent dining experience here. They have a full bar, and the drinks were great! The menu is awesome, and literally, you can't go wrong here. The food is delicious, the servers are top notch, the establishment is extremely clean, and they have an outdoor patio that is 2nd to none - complete with its own bar and a clear roof that opens and closes depending on the weather! The friendliness we encountered made the dining experience that much better! Thank you for doing a great job! I will make this a destination for me each time I'm in the Peg moving forward!

On a roadtrip from Ontario to Alberta and decided to stop by for lunch here. Service is excellent, hostess is super nice! I ordered the Chili Chicken as an appetizer and it is one of the best dishes I have eaten recently which is why its photo is the star of this review. Another dish I ordered is the Classic Steak, they got the temperature perfect and it had a crispy mashed potato side which was both interesting and delicious! This place is definitely a spot to go back and try other offerings and the interior is very classy and superb.

We tried Joey and it is always good. I have tried this restaurant in other cities as well they have good food. Server was very friendly and she let us have Guacamole before happy hours. Food was very good. One of my favourite restaurant. We had steak and it was delicious and fresh . Drinks were good as well. Thanks
Harpreet S — Google review
Fantastic experience. We visited JOEY after walking out of a restaurant across the street for lack of service. To us, this was a very good move. JOEY was full that night but staff were quite accommodating while waiting for a seat. Our server visited the table almost immediately from sitting to take our order and the food was fresh and tasty. Our server was on her game with food and drink recommendations, topping off this great visit. The Steak w/ Lobster Spaghetti. Perfectly rare steak, cream sauce was full of flavour and lobster chunks. Highly recommended. Ahi Tuna Club. Grilled rare Ahi Tuna with bacon,, sweet pepper relish and onion rings. Server recommended. This sandwich had SO much flavour and not at all what we expected, we almost ordered a second to go. And the dish that brought us to JOEY, Crème Brûlée cheesecake. Light, fluffy and delicious. We will be back.

My husband and I came here on a busy Saturday evening and were both amazed at the service! We got our drinks and food much faster than expected. I think we had 4 different employees bring us stuff. It's nice to see teamwork! The food was incredible. I highly recommend. We will be back.

Excellent beer selection and tasty shrimp appetizer. The Peach Tea Blonde was outstanding. The Boss Burger was massive, definitely not for the faint of heart. Great service and a welcoming atmosphere. You can also grab some of their select beers to-go along with a decent range of merchandise.
Hee S — Google review
I tried two of their burgers — the Classy Viking and the Brazen Butter Burger. Both were flavorful and satisfying. The quality was good though I found the prices a bit on the higher side for what you get. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly. A special shout-out to our waitress, who was very attentive and helpful, though I regret not catching her name. The only downside was the mojito I initially received. The mint leaves were not fresh — they looked wilted and lacked flavor, as shown in the photos. I asked for a replacement, and thankfully, the second one came with fresh mint and tasted much better.

Julia our bartender was amazing. She was attentive and very knowledgeable on the products!!! Thank you Julia Oh the food…. We got the pork belly tacos and a side salad… so delicious!! Recommend getting ranch on the side because the ranch at Brazen is off the charts. 🤤 We were still hungry so got the happy hour pretzel for desert and finished every bite! Must visit!

Stopped for supper in the way to a concert. The parking was a bit difficult as most spots were full but found the last one. We were sat right away without a reservation. Our waitress came right away and even went out of her way to check and see if the chicken could be without the Cajun spice. Service was awesome and food was so good! Very friendly and relaxing environment. 100 percent recommend!!

Alright if you are into spicy and savoury food then this is the place for you ! My god was the food amazing and the service was really great ! Our server Madalynn was very sweet and friendly so kudos to her ! My mom got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and I got the Blackened Maple Chicken and both the dishes tasted amazing ! The blackened chicken was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet with veggies and sauces and the Nashville Sandwich was another level of deliciousness ! This is a great place to come with a group of friends who are foodies because there are tons of different options for everyone’s preferences. Don’t worry we will be back for more !!

Nice atmosphere and clean restaurant. Food is mediocre and very pricy for what you get. $46 for three strips of brisket and 4 bones of ribs. Beer is good and I’d go back for drinks, maybe apps, but not dinner.
Andrew S — Google review
beer: amazing service: amazing atmosphere: amazing food: hit or miss got the ASADO STEAK SANDWICH for $29 it was a piece of bread with a well done piece of steak on it. this is a picture of THE MIDDLE of the steak. the taste of burnt stuck around in my mouth for hours and I had to chew for days. never have I ever had a drier piece of meat. A redeemer is my partner got a burger and it was pretty good. I would say the menu leans on the pricier side with smaller portions. It feels like they are aiming for high end but don't have the quality to back it up. The beer on the other hand is fantastic. good range and flavors. And finally the staff were very attentive, and nice.

Asian fusion restaurant
The Merchant Kitchen is a vibrant and innovative restaurant that offers a unique blend of Asian and Latin American cuisines in a contemporary setting. With its globally inspired menu and lively bar scene, it provides a memorable dining and nightlife experience for food enthusiasts and night owls. The restaurant's commitment to delivering an enjoyable experience is evident in its creative culinary offerings, which include street food from 14 different countries across Asia and Latin America.
I would come back here again and again. In a relatively central location, this is really a gem. Great fusion type cuisine and excellent cocktails. I was sure both for lunch as well as for dinner and loved everything they served.

While being rerouted, we had to stay in Winnipeg. After checking in the hotel, we went to the restaurant to dine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and both the hostesses Nicole and Ally were superb. Very pleasant and friendly and accommodating for us. Being a vegetarian can be a problem but not with these two ladies. They took our dining experience to another level. I thank them from the bottom of my heart and wish all the good luck. Keep up the great work ladies. Thank you on e more.
Horseman P — Google review
It was our party's first time at The Merchant Kitchen. The service was attentive and our server was very genuine. The menu was a little on the smaller side but presented some interesting options. Our server explained the menu and mentioned that the food was served family style. Our party decided on purchasing individual appetizers and we decided on the Grilled Corn. The corn was seasoned well, however, the tortilla chips lacked flavour, almost as if they were store-bought. The menu was priced on the higher side, although justifiable, as it was a more classier atmosphere.
Nicole S — Google review
Merchant Kitchen describes the food as Asian Fusion but to me it’s more in line with Latin/South American along with Asian dishes. Best of both worlds yet oddly confusing 😆. Love the vibe of the place and the bar. Love me some good cocktails. Limited cocktail menu but will make whatever your heart desires. Aston Margarita is a solid classic margarita. A polarizing cocktail is the Cafe Lima. If you like it and finish it, you need your picture posted at the bar 😂. Your palate is unique. Service was fantastic and attentive for a busy night. Recommend as a great place pre-event downtown.
Jen E — Google review
The food was good, we had wings which were delicious. We also tried the fried rice, the noodles and the tacos. Everything was good, the tacos are a bit expensive for the quantity but it was good. We also tried chocolat tart and lime tart, both were delicious. The wine is super expensive , good cocktails a bit expensive too. Overall a good experience. But the place is very noisy which makes it hard to have a discussion with everyone at the table. 100 bucks for 1 cocktail, 1 beer, 1 glass 6oz wine, noodles, tacos and 1 dessert, is a bir pricey ( price for 2 ). I'd still recommand, not sure I would go back because of the noise.
Amina A — Google review
We went with a big group of friends and got the buffet menu for $35. Food was okay and the portion size was fair too. After finishing our food I did a little calculation and the buffet menu we tried - if we were to order them individually would have been cheaper than the buffet? Not sure if it was a good deal since the buffet is not unlimited amount of food. Drink menu is good and they have quite a lot of tequila and mezcal shots/sips. Good place to go with friends but price wasn't really reasonable. The Korean chicken is nothing close to a korean chicken at all. Sauces were not close to Korean style either.
Luna K — Google review
Heard great things about this restaurant but found it to be somewhat average. Corn with nachos tasted like canned corn with some cheese on top. Korean chicken was basic fried chicken and nothing more. Dandan noodles were good again but nothing special except sauce was tasty. After hearing good reviews I was disappointed and found it pricey for what you received. Pleasant service

Great drinks! The Non alcoholic margaritas are very good and the regular ones are a refreshing treat! Dan dan noodles were very tasty not too spicy. Tacos were good as well, mild but good. Really great place to grab a bite before the concert or game

Irish pub
Restaurant
Fionn MacCool's Crossroads is a traditional Irish pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and interesting menu. The chicken curry was amazing, and the fish and chips was another great option. They often have live music, which makes it worth a visit for all ages. Plus, there's plenty of parking.
The service was top-notch and the food was absolutely amazing. The management and staff really went above and beyond, and it made the whole experience unforgettable! I can’t express how grateful I am with making my simple vision to throw my husband a surprise birthday. Thank you again

Good service. Good atmosphere. Horrible portions. Expensive prices. The photos below are of my wife's $28 serving of wings and my $35 three meat dinner. I thought that I was ordering more food than I could handle but the wing portion was 3 wings and the chicken tender portion was 3 tiny chicken tenders. How pathetic. My wife's wings should not have come to more than $18 -- not $28! Obviously, we will never be back with food portions that insulting! No wonder there were a total of only 3 tables occupied at 5:30pm.

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. Place was quiet which is concerning for the viability of the new ownership. Service was great, food was tasty and very affordable. We will be back. The Yorkshire pudding appetizer is highly recommended.

The staff here is unbelievably friendly, kind and knowledgeable and deserve to be praised for their hard work and continuous effort in making sure their customers are content. As well as their knowledge with a celiac such as myself who is also allergic to nuts and fish, they made sure to keep my safety as a top priority and the food was beyond great and well presented!

A perfect place for a group of 10 to get together. The food was pretty good. I was surprised it wasnt busier. Maybe Tuesday night is the night to meet up at Fionn McCools with friends and have a good time. This is my surprise pick of the month. Good times.

Nice enough pub food. Chicken fingers in the Jameson honey garlic sauce were a tad soft if that makes sense. Fries were good. Partner had the cheesy burger i believe and enjoyed it, was very happy with the fried pickle garnish.

Great news- Crossroads location is reopen! We had a good time here last Friday. It was busy and waiting time a little longer but it is not a problem since we were visiting with friends. In the end of all it is not a fast food place. The food was tasty and portions are good. Great choice of beer as well. Live music is nice to have. Friendly and attentive stuff made a difference for sure. Thank you Fionn MacCool's Crossroads! We will be back.

We celebrated our wedding at this restaurant, and it was truly the best choice we could have made. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed it! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel so cared for throughout the evening. We are so grateful for the wonderful memories created here, and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable celebration.

One Great City Brewing Company is a stylish and contemporary bar that offers a fusion of Asian and American flavors in its delightful array of food and beverages. The brewpub provides a spacious interior suitable for both intimate gatherings and large parties, with an unwavering commitment to catering to those with gluten sensitivities. Additionally, the establishment hosts regular events such as 'Puppies on the Patio,' making it a pet-friendly destination.
Great atmosphere, don't let the entrance mislead you, the restaurant/pub/bistro area is further back. Beers are excellent, the NEIPA is very tasty, the IPA nicely balanced and the local beer, easy drinking. The Mac and Cheese us quite tasty, the hot wings delicious and the lamb sandwich is succulent!

Great venue for a hangout pub atmosphere. High ceilings, spacious, and really nice brewery tankards in the backdrop. Plenty of TVs to watch games (the projector lens needs cleaning though) Food so far has been good, better than franchise joints, but bordering around mid. I’ve eaten here a few times and nothing has really jumped out yet. So far the dessert has been the best. There are lots of diverse food options on the menu so I’ll be back to try different dishes - maybe one will be a banger. First few times here service was good. I’m usually pretty chill and shrug things off but on a recent visit, the service was a bit weak and negligent. Could have been an off night. Can’t fault a place too much for that and it is a pub/brewery after all. Noteworthy - groups larger than 8+ will get a mandatory 18% tip applied to the after-tax bill total. Overall though, good venue. Will be back to try more menu items in the future.

We had so much fun here. The food was great. Amazing Korean wings! And the drinks were so good. I had a raspberry basil cocktail. But our server Ashley was the best part of the night. She was so friendly and attentive. Ashley you are the best! Love, your friends from Shelbyville 😉

Five star experience all around! I was blown away by the fantastic service and delicious food. I had the lamb sandwich and I would recommend it. The house salad paired with it nicely. I had a flight and the milk stout was one of the best I've ever had, it had a nice creaminess to it. I had such a great time here and I would come back another time.

A very good restaurant. Beers are really great tasting. Food is delicious as well. Very nice environment, i went here to celebrate a birthday with my family. Customer service was very good, the server was very friendly and nice. They just charge 1$ per person for cake plating. The wings are delicious and were everyone’s favourite. The beer tastes very fresh since it’s brewed right there. I would definitely go here again 😃

Rae's Bistro is a popular spot with a diverse menu and daily specials. The drink selection includes beer, wine, and scotch flights for those who want to sample different options. Visitors praise the generous portions and delicious flavors of dishes like Beet chips, Italian Chibatta sandwich, braised Lamb Shank, shrimp tacos, Atlantic Salmon, Jalapeno Burger, and Chicken Club. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff make for an enjoyable dining experience.
Danny is a wonderful server! He made us feel welcome and explained everything very well. The food was delicious, the timing was perfect and everyone was very kind. It was my birthday celebration. My friend mentioned this, and they added to the lovely piece of cake that she ordered. I can't wait to return! 🫶

First time here, and the food was absolutely amazing—no doubt about it. The portions are generous for the price, easily enough for two people to share. Service was impressively fast, maybe a little too fast—our main dishes arrived less than 10 minutes after we started our appetizer. Since we were seated at a small table for two, things got a bit cramped with all the plates (not complaining about the portion sizes, though—they’re fantastic!). The vibe is chill and laid-back, which added to the experience. The highlight for me was the Tuna Nachos—absolutely delicious and a must-try!

I had dinner here for the first time on August 25th, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Abby was my server, and she was incredibly prompt, friendly, and helpful. Being new to the restaurant, I wasn’t sure what to order, but Abby took the time to walk me through the menu and explain both food and drink options in detail. The food arrived quickly and exceeded my expectations. I ordered the chicken fingers and the bruschetta chicken — both dishes were absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. A big congratulations to Danny and Jill for creating such an amazing restaurant. From the great service to the outstanding food, it’s clear that a lot of care and passion goes into every part of the dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Me and my girlfriend came here in a whim since it was the only restaurant with tables available over the long weekend. We were delighted by the food and service, the lamb shank I had was particularly good as well as the cheesecakes we both got. Service was spectacular even though they were quite busy we never had to wait too long for our server to come check on us, the restaurant was beautiful and cleanly. All around a great experience and we will be coming again
Conner L — Google review
Great variety of menu items & unique feature menu option. Service was great for lunch on a weekday, didn't have to wait long for food or refills. Only took off a star because we were all disappointed in the beet chips appetizer. The goat cheese dip was basically just solid cold crumbly goat cheese. Not a soft smooth whipped dip like it used to be which just made the appetizer dry. (Photo after we ate some)

My husband and I were there yesterday October 10/25. This was our second time there and it did not disappoint!! The food was incredible and we are foodies so we are not easy to please. The portion sizes were very generous, and the service was out of this world. We have stopped going out to restaurants because Lately we honestly have not seen the value for our money however this is worth every penny!! It has been a while since we were at a restaurant where the service was as good as this one…. actually I can’t say I remember a restaurant that compares. This is definitely going to be my go to!!! Well done !!

Fionns Grant Park is a dog-friendly restaurant with a fantastic service and adherence to safety guidelines. The menu offers a variety of options, including the double stacked fried chicken burger, Reuben sandwich, and deep-fried pickles. The atmosphere is described as pub-like with an Irish flair, offering ample seating both inside and outside. While some patrons had issues with the availability of certain drinks, others enjoyed their meals and found the staff to be pleasant.
I had a delicious dinner with friends, I loved what we ordered a delicious and fresh tuna and steak salad. The friendly and attentive service. My strawberry mojito so good🤩 I really liked the food and the attention. I felt that there was a lot of noise because of a table full of children but I think it was because of a birthday celebration. I will try the hamburger again since my friends loved it.

If you need vegan options, Fionns has a large vegan only menu, which I really appreciate. Most of the staff are very nice and the food is generally consistent though a bit unhealthy but hey, it's pub food and is still good quality. If you do decide to check them out, I'd dine in the restaurant, to go orders seem to always have mistakes.

Party of 5, supper-hour. Service was good, the apps came out quickly, considering the restaurant/lounge were full-ish. I knew it would be tricky for me because the restaurant is as loud as any I've been in. The food did NOT disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their meal, we really didn't need the Apps there was plenty of food. Fish tacos, hamburger and a salad with salmon. Now to find a quiet place to rebound.

We had the fish n’ chips, substituted the fries for mashed. I had 2 pieces and hubby had 3. Hubby had a Caesar. Annie was wonderful. She really made our visit enjoyable.

Had lunch at Fionns Grant Park, ordered the plant-based phish tacos…this is a very easy dish to make visually appealing and tasting but this version was blah…smothered in way too many pickled onions that were spicy hot…almost uneatable, I did remove them…along with diced red onions and mushy tomatoes supposed to be pico de gallo…saw no offer of avocado which might have helped..?? The fries were room temperature…definitely not fresh. Others ordered dishes described as “ok” and “not bad”…one comment to the price not matching the dish received (ie overpriced). The service was great, Becca was prompt and attentive. I had been to Fionns one time before and was impressed with the plant-based options and taste, not sure what’s changed? Disappointing for sure.

We’ve been to Fionn’s about a half dozen times . Each time we’ve gone, the food has been top notch. The portions are decent and reasonably priced. We’ve done 2 person and groups of 6 visits with the servers doing a good job. The Cobb salad was one of my favourites. Pictured was the Rodeo burger. Delicious! It’s been removed from the menu but they changed it up to the Pubs bacon cheese that is a great substitute. It can be a bit louder on game nights, but we enjoyed the vibe. Would recommend to give Fionn’s a try.

I was there on Friday night, stopped to gamble and have some food. I was super impressed with our server who was not only on the casino floor slinging drinks, she also provided table service. Restaurant
Little Goat Food & Drink is a French-Canadian restaurant located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The chef, Alex Svenne, presents an innovative menu featuring dishes like devilled egg with fried chicken and sambal honey. Customers have praised the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff at this local eatery. The food has received positive feedback, with highlights including the juicy French onion burger and flavorful moules frites of the day. Additionally, patrons appreciate the quick service and the option to enjoy local kombucha.
Food: French onion burger was very juicy and delicious. Homemade buns were little too thick but dipping in French onion soup made is extra juicy. Thin cut fries were perfectly crunchy and thousand island dressing was a good addition to it. They serve local kombucha which is a must! Atmosphere: very cute local restaurant with cozy and cute decorations. Casual place to go with friends. Service: staff was very friendly. Place was full of people but food came out very fast.

A very nice little place. We went on a Sunday for brunch, with reservations (always a good idea, the place is not large) when the menu is a bit reduced. I haven't seen the regular menu, although I noticed a sign for wine specials on Tuesdays, but the brunch menu was more than sufficient and everything we tried was tasty. The only complaint I have is that it was a bit crowded and noisy. My hearing aids were not up to the challenge and at first it was hard to hear anyone. After a bit the noise level dropped (a particularly rowdy table got their food and stopped talking so they could eat) and became much more enjoyable. The service was fast, the coffee good and they served an appetizer salad of cucumbers and watermelon that was very refreshing. The menu is heavy on the vegetarian dishes with a few for the carnivores. We tried 3 of the main dishes and everyone was happy. The breakfast burrito was so generous that I took half of it home for lunch. The accompanying coleslaw was a vinegar based one, normally something I would avoid, but it was very good, a bit sweet but refreshing and matched the burrito just perfectly. I was a passenger and failed to note the parking situation, we lucked out and got a spot on Portage right in front of the door, but there is only space for 2 cars there so I wouldn't count on that. All in all, it was nice, apart from the noise, which I am a bit sensitive to, there is a nice sunroom with seating for a couple of big parties and I would cheerfully return on a weeknight to try out their full menu

Good restaurant with solid service. We did the French onion soup, full Mac and cheese, fried chicken and the gnocchi. For dessert the orange hazelnut cheesecake. Presentation is beautiful with all the food. I liked everything, but found issues with each item. The French onion soup flavor was fantastic but I found it had too much bread. It soaked up too much of the broth. The mac and cheese on the other hand was a bit soupy. The top layer is great with lots of flavor, but underneath it becomes much more bland. The fried chicken spices were delicious, but it wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. The gnocchis addition of arugula was the perfect flavor enhancer, but I wasn't a personal fan of the gnocchi. My friend found the yams distracting and would have liked if it was all gnocchi. The Dessert was unique and quite good. I'm not sure if it was just our visit. With this chefs reputation I had high hopes and they did fall a bit short on this visit. Ambiance was nice and service was excellent.

What a great little place that I finally got to try. I've been twice and the service is always great, you get greeted as soon as you enter. Never kept waiting long for drinks or food. The fried chicken bennies tasted amazing. The reuben sandwich was probably the best I have ever had... and the fries! Oh the fries! We also tried one of each of this weeks morning buns and they were just as stunning as they were tasty. Last but not least, they have THE BEST coffee. I will definitely be back to try more of their rotating menu but I would absolutely make the trip just for a bun and coffee, too.

Tommy's Pizzeria, located in Corydon Village, Winnipeg, has quickly become a local favorite. Owner Tommy Schneider, named Canada's Best Pizza Maker at the Pizza World Championships in Parma, Italy, offers inventive flavor combinations with options like Detroit-style pizza or classic crust. The pizzeria is known for its fresh personal pizzas and more. With excellent service and quick food delivery, it also offers appetizers like burrata, mozzarella sticks, garlic knots and truffle fries.
Absolutely love Tommy’s Pizza! The crust is perfectly crisp, the toppings are fresh, and the flavor combinations are on point. You can tell they take real pride in what they make. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and upbeat. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or sitting down with friends, Tommy’s never disappoints. Easily one of the best pizza spots in Winnipeg!

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great, no complaints there. But the service left a lot to be desired. Several menu items were unavailable, and we weren’t told until we tried to order them. That’s something that should’ve been communicated upfront, either when we were seated or before ordering appetizers. It also took over 20 minutes to get our drinks, and we had to track down our server just to order more. Disappointing experience on the service front.
Claire D — Google review
What a fantastic joint! Our server was super kind and helpful. The ambiance was fantastic, clean, and inviting. The food? *Chefs kiss* We got: Tommy's cheese stick - a yule log sized cheese stick that was absolute perfection. The sauce wasn't my favorite, but it really didn't even need the dipping sauce. Pure cheesy delight. Truffle Fries - Pretty darn good!! The sauce for these was very light and yummy. Fries were perfectly cooked. Gemignani - spicy meat, pretty good, but quite greasy so it lost me on that one. Had a lot of crust, great crunch! Prosciutto Fig - Holy hell, Batman!! This is my new favorite pizza in the world. What an absolute delight. The Tommy Special - Very well made and yummy. It was a very unexpected combination that worked beautifully! Double Decker - You can't go wrong with this pizza. A very good taste combination, not too greasy!

Definitely worth checking out!!! Just needed to add the Bruschetta is AMAZING!

Went there with a lot of expectations, but it didn’t meet them. Tried the Ray Lorne (chicken bacon ranch) without bacon, but there was only one small piece of chicken per slice, even though the menu says “strips.” Chicken parm pasta was fine, and drinks were good. Service was good, but even with reservations, it still takes time to get seated. Happened to me 2-3 times.
Manvinder S — Google review
Came here for a second visit and was very let down by service. The restaurant was not very busy and we made a reservation for our party ahead of time. Half our party had to order our drinks multiple times as they never showed up, one of our original drinks took so long it came while we were waiting to ask for the bill. We were never offered water refills and the first staff to ask us how the food was came after we were finished our meals, and this was when we had to ask for water for the table. We also once again had to flag down a waiter and ask for our bills as our table was neglected all night. The bathroom was nearly inaccessible as the hallway was piled with extra chairs and cushions to the point I had to squeeze in sideways and shuffle to get there and I'm not a large person. Can't imagine how anyone with a mobility device is expected to dine here. I've never left such a low rating based on service alone and I don't think I will dine in again. I would rather get takeout or delivery than deal with the disappointment that was our service last night again.

Went specifically for the Detroit-style red top. Did not disappoint. We’ll be back for the perogy pizza next time which looked amazing. They win awards for good reason.

I visited Tommy’s Pizza in Winnipeg after hearing a lot of buzz, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. While the pizza was decent, it didn’t stand out in terms of flavor or quality, especially when compared to other local spots. What stood out more was the price—definitely on the higher side for what you get. For the cost, I expected a more memorable dining experience, but the overall quality left something to be desired. That said, the atmosphere and service were good, so it might appeal to those looking for a trendy spot. However, if you’re seeking top-notch pizza that justifies its price, there are better options in Winnipeg.

Fast food restaurant
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is a fast-food chain that offers Louisiana-inspired spicy fried chicken, biscuits, and sides. While some customers have experienced dry chicken and poor texture recently, others have praised the friendly staff, clean environment, and delicious food like Cajun chicken sandwiches and unique gravies. The accommodating staff has also been commended for efficiently handling large takeout orders.
Been going here since it opened...when the lines were hours long...yes!! Anyways, I've had the opportunity to taste Popeyes in different locations around Canada and I will say THIS IS beyond the BEST location ever. Their food is fresh and tasty. It makes a difference. I urge you to give this location a try, if you haven't. Don't let the sour experience at another location let you miss out on this locations service, food, and freshness!! Thank you! I'll have to dig up some photos but we love the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich and the tenders. The fries are tasty too!!

Popeyes chicken is the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had consistently from a fast food style restaurant. My wife Trisha, her Mom Donna and I went here again. We stop in from time to time when we’re in Winnipeg because the chicken is so good. She likes the regular chicken, I like the chicken tenders here. Mmmmmmm The restaurant is clean, interior is designed well. I like that they had TV’s. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat.

Over the time Popeyes taste is not same. Recently experienced more than couple times from this location their oil smells weird. Not sure if recipes are changed or standards are not maintained but it needs to be addressed. Tried blackened chicken burgers and chicken tenders.
Areez V — Google review
Overall food taste was decent. But to get obviously old gross lettuce on my deluxe chicken burger was disappointing, and the amount of fries was sad for $16. Luckily since I live outside of the city I disassemble things to reheat and noticed the lettuce before actually eating it.

I placed my order online to collect the digital reward points but picked it up in the restaurant for dine in. My order was very fresh, prepared in a timely fashion and delicious. The staff were all friendly, professional and hard working. The restaurant was spotless and had a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this location as a good dine in spot. Their whole team should be commended for doing a great job!

Their chicken is good nice and crispy. Also the hand dryers they have are mint. Blow all the water right off there. However the onion rings are to be avoided. Yikes

I showed up with a field trip of 40 people mid afternoon. The staff were super accommodating, gave us a good deal, and quickly fried up a fresh batch of 100 pieces of chicken. We took over the entire (empty) restaurant and had a wonderful time. Students loved the food. Excellent service. Popeyes is always the best place to go with large groups.
Byron D — Google review
I was disappointed with my recent visit. The tables were visibly dirty and hadn’t been wiped down, even though the place wasn’t particularly busy. I noticed staff members standing around talking rather than taking action to clean or maintain the dining area. Cleanliness should be a basic standard, especially when the restaurant isn’t crowded. I hope management addresses this, as it really impacts the overall experience.

Restaurant
Underdogs is a contemporary game-day spot that offers creative pub grub and an extensive selection of over 30 beers on tap. The lively sports bar in St. James serves amazing burgers, chicken fingers, and honey dill, along with local draft beers and nightly specials until late hours. The place also features various entertainment options such as pinball machines, ping pong, skee-ball, foosball, pop-a-shot basketball, and classic arcade games to keep patrons entertained during game breaks or celebrations.
Have not been to Underdogs for a couple of years so headed there for lunch today. Really enjoyed the Zion burger with their house special sauce with lots of onions and pickles. Topped with cheese and bacon on a good solid bun. My side was the Mac and cheese that was super tasty with a bit of spicy zip. Won’t be staying away so long in the future. 5 🍔 out of 5!!

Service was okay but food and prices could have been way better… I got a bowl of Cesar salad the size of a tea cup that came soaked in dressing and a lovely $9 charge. The side order of animal fries is a $5 up charge and comes with 18 fries and very salty. Oh and my group a party of 2 with a reservation was moved after we were already sat at a decent table to an itty bitty table shoved in between big groups of people so they could sit another table of 2 where we originally were. I have been here before and usually it is great but today I was very disappointed not sure if I will be returning.

I’ve been coming here every week on Tuesdays or Thursdays for the past four years to enjoy the half-off wings. Today, I came in with my family, and our server—who claimed to be the manager—told us we had to purchase drinks in order to get the wing deal. This requirement is not mentioned anywhere on the website or the menu. When I asked to speak to a manager, she raised her voice and said she was the manager, then continued to yell at me for the rest of our time there. This behavior was completely inappropriate, especially in a family-friendly restaurant with minors sitting at our table. This experience was very disappointing, and I hope it’s addressed. I will not be going back!

The food is super good based on the fact that this is a sports bar too, I was impressed. Ladies they also have healthier options if you don’t want a burger. I’m from the US too so comparing to sports bars this was great! Staff was friendly, fun environment and good vibes! Highly recommend it!

Group of 8, four adults and some kids. 18% auto gratuity and they told me it’s required for groups that size. Restaurant was empty besides us. Could’ve sat at separate tables. Actually didn’t sit at the tables much as the kids were playing games giving them money the whole time. Gross. Absolutely gross. They looked at us like we owed them this 18% extra for nothing. Receipt even asked for more of a tip on top!?!?

My friend and I went tonight for supper and had a great experience. She tried the Poutine Wich and I had the Spinach Dip and wings. We shared the Mini donuts for dessert and loved them. Our server was friendly, the food was great, and we will definitely be back!!

9$ for a small ceaser salad was a bit crazy, got moved tables for a bigger group then they sat the same number of people at our table when we had a reservation, burger was good animal fries tasted like pure salt. Over all not a great experience

Have been here tons of times, must be new management, food was awful, beer (and pop) were flat, co2 probably was out all night. Service was more or less fine but they also spent 5 to 10 minutes rearranging tables and chairs dragging them making it unable to speak. Far fall from what I usually expect here, won’t be back.

St. James Burger & Chip Co. offers an exceptional dining experience with its amazing service and delicious food. The burgers are described as over-the-top and worth indulging in, while the fries are surprisingly addictive. The restaurant's unique partnership with the airbase adds to its appeal, and customers appreciate the generous portions and great taste of the meals. Some recommended menu items include the pineapple bacon burger and the intriguing cinnamon fries, making it a must-visit spot for burger enthusiasts looking for a memorable meal.
So glad I finally got to try this place. I got the chick Norris which is their version of KFC's double down. The chicken is crispy and flavorful. The bacon is on point and so much yummy cheese. I added a bacon infused beef patty which was so delicious. They give a ton of yummy homemade fries cooked to perfection with a very tasty gravy. The portions are huge and the food is amazing. I can't wait to try this place again 10/10

We stopped in between events in the area starving. They have a large menu but we decided on the regular cheese burger which came with fries. The prices are amazing considering the amount of food we received. The burgers were so juicy and rates very high in our books. I love the way they come boxed up - easy for taking home the food we couldn’t finish. Would highly recommend stopping in!! We will be next time we are in the area.

Very disappointed in what St James Burger turned into.I used to love ordering from here, I was wanting to give the benefit of the doubt but I'm not going to waste my money on it anymore. I treat myself & family to SJB about once a month, for the last 6ish months, the fries have been extremely dark & can taste the old oil :/. I understand gravy is dark (I've worked in kitchens before), but the fries haven't been tasting the best at all. The dark spots in the poutine are burnt pieces from the fryer - photos for reference.
Amber Q — Google review
I hidden Gem in St James area. Might be a tad more expensive compared to McDonalds or Wendy’s but I feel it’s worth it. Place might appear to be a tad sketchy but don’t let that scare you off.;This is Winnipeg after all. Parking in the area is limited but most of the parking is behind the building. Service has always been good. Staff are friendly. The menu is pretty big but if you’re craving burgers, fries, poutine, hot dogs or a thick milkshake this is the place to go. Portions are quite large so for most humans getting the burger and fries will fill you up. This place has a lot of local Manitoba flair, using things like dill sauces on your burger. They have a wide range of beef or chicken burgers. The burgers are pretty messy so don’t go wearing your favourite light shirts. Be prepared to get some sort of sauce all over you. The fries are awesome! They give you the option to put normal salt, Cajun salt or cinnamon salt which is pretty cool. They have some seating but it’s quite limited. Would be best to grab it to go and take it home or to a nearby park. I’ve been here multiple times and have never had issues. Will be continue to go in the future! If you’re military or a first responder you get 10%. Food 5 Service 4.5 Atmosphere 3

You’d never catch me writing a review but I quite literally had to share this masterpiece of a burger. Always a 10/10 when I come here. Never disappointed. Fav burger place in Winnipeg by far.

I really wanted to love this place... I decided to order a marvellous mushroom burger from Door Dash. It had a ridiculous amount of sauce on it. Extremely disappointing for a burger that costs over $20. I could hardly eat it. Within 30 seconds, the bun basically turned to complete mush. I couldn’t even enjoy the flavours because all I could taste was sauce.

Tbh.. I’m the biggest hater on homemade fries….. But I DREAMMM about this poutine daily 🤤 Smash burger and poutine are a must try! It’s a large enough portion for two to Share. It’s my go to every time I order. Definitely my new fave poutine spot!
Keneshia R — Google review
I had ordered once before a long time ago and had a poor experience, but decided to give them another try after some friends said they enjoyed their burgers. I ordered the Golden Fat Boy Burger and it was delicious! The burger patty was fresh and had good flavour. The chili that goes on the burger is different from that of other burger joints. It is very good, and a nice change. It's got more of a tomato-pepper flavour, and is just a touch spicier. Be careful, it is very red, so don't get it on your clothes! The only recommendation for the restaurant would be to ensure that if there are some burnt fries that can be removed before putting toppings on and serving to a customer please remove them. There were a few fries that were unpleasant to eat, and I couldn't tell they were burnt because they covered in chili. It is more expensive to eat here than at other burger joints, and I'm still torn on whether it is worth the price but I would order again. I would recommend going in person rather than ordering through whichever mobile ordering app they're on.

Chicken wings restaurant
Fried chicken takeaway
Little Bones Wings is a cozy gem of a restaurant with friendly staff and easy street parking. The menu offers an extensive selection of flavorful chicken wings, with options like Death Drop and Mistress that deliver on taste. The wings are described as huge, juicy, and delicious, making it a must-visit for wing enthusiasts. Despite the small space, the variety of flavors and the quality of the wings make it worth a visit.
Delicious wings. Impressive list of flavours. Staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable. I had one issue. I can't stand breading on my wings and forgot to specify naked. I would recommend for staff to ask guests how they like their wings instead of assuming everyone wants breaded so degenerates like me don't make this mistake. Fortunately staff were very accommodating with this and saved my meal! Thank you.

Amazing wings, great breading without being too much, perfect amount of sauce. Seating is limited, might want to opt for take out, but if willing to wait it’s usually not too long. Recommend a blueberry Ale with your wings!

Delicious wings. Decent sized too with lots of meat on the bones. An overwhelming variety of flavours. The creamy garlic flavour was soooo good. The fries are seasoned with more than just salt and come with a good dip. Our server was so kind and upbeat. Very happy with the food and service

Tried out this little hole in the wall last night. The reviews are right because it’s in the basement it’s hard to find but there was a gentlemen smoking outside and he says “ chicken is that door and hotel is that door” was a good laugh lol. Wings were top notch, we don’t like drums and they were able to give us all flats, you can’t find that anywhere so that was amazing. Crispy, well cooked and saucy, get ready to be messy. We had the cauliflower bites, they were good but the breading needs seasoning, and the Mac and cheese bites they were also tasty. I agree with the rest of the reviews, the price is a bit insane for 8 wings, with the app and the wings our bills came to $30. What I want to touch base on is the service. We didn’t catch his name but he’s got lip piercings and tattoos, let me tell you this man was genuinely the nicest server I have ever had in my life. He knew the answer to every question, he helped us with the menus because it’s a bit overwhelming, he kept coming back and asking us if we liked food, his heart was in it and we would come back just for him honestly. Never had greater service anywhere else. I hope he sees this because in a time where everyone is miserable he was a breath of fresh air. Food came out hot and in a good amount of time. Overall was a great experience but like everything else prices need a little work.

Epic spot! This place is the plug! Delicious wing options, local beers on tap, sports games on all tv’s, small spot but it’s intimate! Such a vibe, loved the Caribbean sauce wings!

Great spot if you’re looking for wings! If you’re looking for thin cheap wings this ain’t the place. This place serves thick and flavourful wings. They have a massive menu for dry wings and wet wings. So whether you like to go all in and get your face all saucy or you’re a cleaner wing eater this is the place for you. Parking is out on the road. The restaurant is kinda of hidden. It’s not part of the hotel but to the right down a flight of stairs. The restaurant atmosphere is pretty good. Remember you’re going there for wings cuz you ain’t getting no river sites or anything. Service was alright, they took a while to take our orders and were very relaxed and not checking on customers and were watching tv. Food came out pretty quick so that was nice. Price is high but these wings are worth it. Won’t give you gut rot 👍. Would recommend you try this place is you love wings!

In the area for hockey and found this place. Don’t let the size fool you and it’s worth the wait if all 6 tables are full. We hit the fries and Mac and cheese bites. Fries were on point. The cheese bites were for the kid and good enough. Then the wings came. My wife is gluten free so both her and I ordered the gf friendly wings. Damn! Crispy, crunchy, so much flavor! I opted for the Bayou with a Bite and Spicy Caribbean. Both were awesome in different ways. Bayou wings were smoky, sweet, and creamy deliciousness. The Caribbean were a dry rub with a zing. The wife and kids loved theirs: Buffalo, Backyard BBQ, and Coney Island Coaster (mustard based BBQ) I’m not from the area but this will be a mandatory stop anytime we are back in the Winnipeg area.
Jayson C — Google review
Great little gem of a restaurant. Street parking was easy to find on a Saturday night in early March. The restaurant is located in the basement and has just a few tables. Staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a super selection of wings, we haven't had a bad choice yet. I think there is 100 different flavours. So far our favorites are the pesto and the nacho. The restaurant was a bit on the cooler side tonight I was glad I had a more than just a tshirt. The drinks are in cans. The food was prepared and brought out quickly. I would recommend ordering ahead on holidays or special nights like Grey Cup or New Years Eve. It doesn't hurt to look at the menu ahead of time with that many flavours to choose from. The wings are large and have a lot of meat on them. They pack the wings well when we have ordered them for take out. We will go again.

If you're exploring Winnipeg and craving a vibrant cocktail scene, Block & Blade Restaurant and Bar is the place to be. This stylish venue offers an impressive selection of unique drinks, with highlights like The Blocks Old Fashioned and The Blocks Long Island Iced Tea that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The culinary offerings are equally enticing; their crispy chicken served on Belgian waffles topped with beet compote and mascarpone has even earned accolades at local food festivals.
This is my sons’ favourite restaurant now. The burgers are not dry. I had the mushroom burger and it tasted gourmet. The only thing I think they should improve is the calamari. We find it not seasoned. But it was ok. Brownie dessert was good as well. Service was good too. I just wish they will have more steak options. But I understand it will be too expensive to maintain steak menu. Definitely, we will support this restaurant in our neighbourhood.

That first bite into their Block Burger and my instant subconscious reaction knew this was a good burger. The beef was moist and packed with rich well-seasoned burger goodness. No dryness. This was a good burger, which seems like rare find for me lately. The crispy Caesar chicken wrap was good too. It had nothing on the burger but compared to other similar wraps I’ve had elsewhere - definitely better than the norm. I distinctly recall their use and quality of parm really elevated it. The venue itself has that sleek upscale modern glam you see at a lot of other similar restaurants. I saw a lot of Bar top / bar rail seating space - which I am a big fan of. We sat patio though and I liked its outdoor setting. I’d come back again to spend an afternoon sitting patio or hanging bar top. Service felt timely and friendly, albeit a bit generic and formulaic. All good though. Prices felt slightly on the higher than average for similar portion/value, but nothing extreme. And maybe even appropriately so as I’d say the food quality, from what has been tried so far, is a cut above the norm. So that could indicate superior sourced ingredients? Merely speculation though. I’d come back to try more

Nestled in the heart of the charming Sage Creek community, Block and Blade offers a dining experience that effortlessly blends sophistication with comfort. During our recent lunchtime visit, we were graciously hosted by Sydney, whose warm demeanor, attentiveness, and professionalism elevated our meal from pleasant to truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, Sydney made us feel exceptionally welcome. She guided us through the menu with thoughtful suggestions, displaying both knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the offerings. Throughout our time there, she struck the perfect balance—present and attentive without ever being intrusive. Her brief and personable exchanges added a lovely human touch to the service, enhancing the overall atmosphere. The restaurant's interior is thoughtfully designed, with semi-private, cubicle-style seating that comfortably accommodates four guests. The plush sofas offered generous legroom and provided a level of comfort rarely found in similar establishments. The layout is intelligently conceived—uncluttered and airy—with décor that is simple yet quietly elegant. As for the cuisine, it was nothing short of excellent. We enjoyed a well-paced and beautifully presented meal, including soup, a shared appetizer, two mains, and a pot of tea to conclude. Each dish arrived at the perfect interval, maintaining a rhythm that allowed us to savor each course without feeling rushed or delayed. The flavors were superb—thoughtfully balanced and prepared with care. The service, ambiance, and culinary execution were all of the highest calibre. We left thoroughly satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit. Block and Blade is a standout gem in Sage Creek, and we recommend it most highly to anyone seeking an elevated yet approachable dining experience.

Overall good experience. Service was a bit slow. Food was great. I recommend the blackened fish tacos. The mushroom alfredo could use more flavour. The fried cheese curds appetizer was good. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Bathrooms were clean.

I don’t understand how the calamari looks so good but tastes like nothing. We really were not impressed that we got so many peppers in this dish. Wouldn’t ever bother with this again. It’s just simply not worth $21. The Apple and Brie Chicken Sandwich was really good. I would come back and have that again. Wait staff were stand-offish. Not overly welcoming. Service was kinda slow for the lack of people in the restaurant. My drink was supposed to have fresh lemon and strawberries and it had almost none of either. It tasted good but I was kinda disappointed. I was hoping for a fresh summer drink. I wouldn’t avoid coming back but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go either.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasantly quiet, allowing me to enjoy some peaceful time. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive, which I greatly appreciated. I ordered the Shio ramen, which was as delicious as ever. I got the spicy fried chicken and noodles meal their portions are massive and really filling but the food was a little oily making u feel a lil sick of it after eating a bunch, although they had good authentic flavours and a clean atmosphere but I did feel the service was lacking a little since they basically only had two people in the place serving a whole lot of customers. I would still recommend this restaurant to any Asian cuisine fans.

Stopped by Kyu Bistro for Le Burger Week, and it was such a great experience from start to finish! The staff here are some of the friendliest I’ve met. Warm greetings, quick service, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. The Kyoto Fried Chicken burger was the real star. Crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken with a Japanese twist, paired with fresh toppings and a sauce that added just the right amount of tang and heat. It had that perfect crunch on the outside while staying juicy inside, honestly, one of the most flavorful chicken burgers I’ve had in a long time. The cozy atmosphere, combined with amazing food and such kind people, makes Kyu Bistro a place I’d happily return to, not just for Le Burger Week but anytime I’m craving great food and good vibes.

This Ramen place has always been my family's go to Ramen resto. The ramen is flavourful, reasonably priced, and packed with ingredients. It is very filling. I loved their takoyaki and the kyu tofu. Whenever I am craving for Ramen, we go to this place. I've tried so many Ramen places, and this right here belongs to my top 5 Ramen places, it being top 1 in Winnipeg for me.

Everything about this place is sooooo good. Fair price, huge servings, and a wide array of choices. The staff is very kind and ensures to know any allergies or anything else so that they know if they have to adapt. The food is absolutely delightful, fresh and vibrant, the flavor is impeccable. And the actual restaurant is cozy and fun, don't be turned away by the facade, the interior is much better! Overall a fantastic experience, easily recommendable.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time tonight. I had the curry ramen and she had the shoyu ramen and we also had an order of the karaage chicken. Everything was excellent. The flavors were on point and the spices were not overpowering. This will become our regular ramen place from now on. Highly recommended.

Kyu has been a staple in Asian food for a while in Winnipeg and I love this place for its consistency. We shared some Karaage to start and it really made the taste buds water. We followed that up with Spicy Miso Ramen, Kyu Fire Ramen and Mango Chicken (not in photo). The ramen had plenty of delicious noodles and if you’re a fiend for heat, get the Kyu Fire! Spicy and delicious. The Mango chicken had a refreshing mango sauce that makes you feel like you always have room for more. Overall, the portions and taste were well worth the money. Very “bang for you buck” in my opinion. Service was friendly and fast, space is fair but can get a little full at time. The area surrounding the resto can be a bit “sketchy” at times so come during the day or a Wednesday for their wing night. Otherwise enjoy their food through your favourite food apps. Come here for great value and great food!

Update from 2 star to 5 star: Less than 1 year later. Finally got to try dining in with some friends. Very good. Just copy and paste gushing from previous 5 star reviews lol 😆. Ordered and tried the following: Takoyaki (Classic!); Corn (so good!); Fried Tofu (So soft and flavourful sauce); Spicy Peanut Chicken Noodles (Mouthwatering, a bit on the sweet spicy, than hot spicy); Mango Chicken Wings (the sauce was super good). My friends ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, Shoyu Ramen, Mango Chicken Rice..?, and they all said it was good! Le Burger Week. Busy times means some unexpected traffic, maybe, for Kyu Bistro. I'm fine with lining up, but as a restaurant, know your limits and capacity. Over 15 people stood lined up in front of the door for over 30 minutes, and were turned away because they ran out. They should have known at a certain point. We were lucky enough to pre-order, while we were in line, just in case. There is a difference in quality of dining in and taking out, and that is where I deduct most points. There should not be such a distinct difference in quality of service, just because we decided not to sit; we pay the same amount for the burger and yet get less than people eating in. I kept on thinking that "Wow, the photo for burger week looks awesome! First time coming here, looking forward to it, but remember that the promo photos are always outstanding, be prepared for a not so big one" But I didn't realize it was so unreal. Not even close, even putting sliced cheese would warrant more flavour and colour than the minimal amount of cheese ramen I had, which was the main point of the burger, that's the hook! Besides the hanging chopsticks, which is apparently doable for dine in, it was the copious amounts of cheese ramen that I was looking forward to. Really disappointed for the first experience with them, and I've been looking forward for so long. Burger description: Besides the disapponting lack of cheese ramen, the patty was juicy and great, but was not a fan of the pork belly, maybe the strong fatty flavour could have been complemented by the spicy cheese ramen (it was spicy level 1 on scale of 10), as I experienced for the minimal amount of ramen I had, which I finished in one bite with the pork belly to taste. I really dig the sauce that was on my fries though, and the fries were still crispy after 10 minutes of being in the box, so props! The two stars will be for the experience I had with the overall burger, and the three stars deducted, was for the lack of quality and quantity of the cheese ramen (main point of the awesomeness of the burger) with the two burgers we got, and the service where they turned away people who waited so long just because they didn't have enough--at some point, the people there knew when they were going to run out; and the service happening behind the counter, there was a server rude to the person at the cash register, and I get that it's busy, but hopefully not to paying, and possibly tipping customers, though hard to say. Hopefully I will be able to change the review once I come back and this time for dine in, just in case, because take out is not the way to go right now. I really want the 5 star review experience that others have had! I do love this style of cuisine! Try again!

LOCAL Public Eatery Garry Street is a popular choice among gluten-free diners, offering a diverse menu with clearly marked options. The restaurant prides itself on providing high-quality cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite among younger adults. The establishment's team of chefs and servers are known for their culinary expertise and friendly service. Additionally, the eatery has been praised for accommodating special occasions, such as hosting last-minute reservations and even surprising guests with thoughtful gestures like flowers.
We had a great late night meal here. The nachos were really good, and the beef tacos were absolutely killer as well. They offered a full menu, but both our selections happened to be on the Happy Hour menu as well, so our server saved us a few bucks by telling us about that. She was also really friendly and attentive. They've got a bunch of TVs all over too, so you can watch the game from pretty much anywhere you sit. Overall just a pleasant visit.

Charming spot in Winnipeg’s downtown with a decent sized patio to enjoy the sunny weather. Washrooms could use some TLC as there was no soap on my visit, nor did the hand dryer work at all. Staff were friendly and attentive. Drinks were cold and served with a smile. Food was OK. Nothing too fancy, but it was filling. Would’ve preferred homemade fries instead of frozen.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, this beautiful pub offers a truly welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, adding to the enjoyment of an already great meal. I was particularly impressed by their diverse range of microbrewery – a true treat for any beer enthusiast. The spicy chicken burger was a standout, packing a flavorful punch, and paired perfectly with their delightful local beer. While the onion rings were good, they didn't quite reach 'best-ever' status. Nevertheless, the fantastic service, excellent food, and superb beer selection mean I'll definitely be returning on my next visit to Winnipeg."

The food and service were on point! What a great atmosphere for a very special date night! The efforts made from the staff especially Kiera (Sorry if I am misspelling your name) Were appreciated as they were attentive and very professional! We will definitely be back! Thanks again. We dropped in here for some drinks and appetizers. We tried the fully-loaded crispy potatoes, beet-humus dip, and fries +dips. The fully-loaded potatoes were so incredibly good I ended up ordering two. The dish was cooked three ways, crisp, balanced flavor, and some added kick from the Jalapeno. The beet hummus was okay but could have used more seasoning. I tried the watermelon sling that tasted light, I would've maybe preferred it have more tangy/sour flavor, but it was still good. My friend loved her margaritas. Our waitress was quite pushy to make us leave when the restaurant was practically empty 🙃. However, another waitress made up for it when she brought us shots for a life event we were celebrating🎉. I'd definitely come here again and try more dishes. I'd highly recommend the fully-loaded potatoes. The menu surprisingly had many gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The pinche beef tacos and shrimp dumplings were fantastic!! I’d go again just for those! Enchiladas were ok but not my favourite. Service was incredible. Our server, Emily, was great but there was also excellent coordination between all of staff bringing out our food and drinks. The place was packed and they were still very impressively on the ball. Lots of craft beer selection and great atmosphere.

The food experience was perfect. I just wanted to write this review to say, I appreciate a restaurant that is NOT chintsy with the food. I ordered the fish & chips for $19.50 and paid and extra $6.50 for a second fish because I was starving. They offered be a side of salad or fries, and I picked the fries, but to my surprise they ALSO gave me a second side of coleslaw included without even mentioning it (maybe the menu did, I forget), +2 dipping sauces for the fishes. Like this was the PERFECT amount of food for me when I was starving! I really appreciate it guys, thanks!! The waitress was exceptionally friendly and the atmosphere was great to watch the Jays game and have a good time with my buddies

Michelle was our waitress and paid impeccable attention to every detail regarding food and beverage order. And THEN food came and we all licked our plates! From burgers to Steak/Dumplings, and Curry Chicken PLUS peanut butter ice cream dessert! OMG. HIGHLY Recommend! We will go back for lunch tomorrow!

Laid-back operation producing global-inspired vegan comfort eats, plus beer & wine.
Went here for the first time recently and had a great dinner - the honey spicy chickun burger and the onion soup were both great! Also had a great selection of local drinks, and we had great recommendations from our friendly server. We’ll be back again.

Fantastic food, great service and atmosphere. Very clean as well. There aren't many all vegan/veggie restaurants in the city, so it's great to have places like this around. Will definitely be coming back!

If you are vegan, this is the place to eat! (and if you're not, this place will show you how good vegan food can be!) All the dishes we tried were to die for. Not only is the food fantastic, the vibe of the place will keep you coming back. After eating here, we made plans to frequently visit Canada just so we can grab a bite to eat!

We are in Winnipeg for the weekend visiting family and were searching for a vegan restaurant to have lunch. We stopped by the Roughage Eatery and we are so glad we did! Everything is vegan and they make their seitan and vegan cheese in house. We had the Apple Brie sandwich and UnTurkey Pesto sandwich which were both absolutely delicious. We finished off with a coffee cake for dessert that was absolutely divine!! Our server Syd was SO NICE we love her so much and would come here to eat again just because of her!! Support them expanding their vegan cheese empire because we absolutely need them to come to Saskatoon! 🥰

Visiting from out of town and this was the BEST food I had during my week stay. Amazing vegan food that easily proves you don’t need meat or dairy to make a meal taste like perfection. The lady working there was lovely as well, great environment and staff. Best food in Winnipeg.
H — Google review
The best exclusively vegan restaurant in Winnipeg, Roughage serves up a small, but well executed, selection of comfort foods. I would not say it is budget-friendly, however it is worth noting that everything is made from scratch from the seitan "meats" to the sauces to the strawberry sauce in the milkshake, thus making it worth the extra dollars. Service has always been welcoming and friendly. Bonus that all takeaway comes in compostable containers!

There is not enough words to describe how amazing this place is! Food is delicious! The food took just 15 mins to make! The music is awesome . The servers are great! Trust me, eat here!!!! It needs more recognition

Just realized I've never left a review for this, one of my absolute favourite restaurants in the city!! Vegan comfort food is how most would describe it but I like to think of it as favourite foods that happen to be vegan. No raw fruit and nut balls, or smoothie bowls ... Just tasty, textured, seasoned perfection 😋🤩💕

Nestled in the heart of Winnipeg, Chicken Delight stands out as a beloved local chain with ten locations throughout the city. For decades, this eatery has been serving up crispy chicken and crinkle-cut fries that have become community favorites. Their bucket meals—available in 9, 15, or 24 pieces—are a must-try, especially when paired with their signature gravy.
I ordered the 14-piece chicken and pizza combo, and everything was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious! The chicken was fresh and juicy, and the pizza was packed with flavour. On top of that, the staff went above and beyond with their service—friendly, attentive, and truly made the experience even better. Highly recommend Chicken Delight for a great meal and excellent customer service.

My wife and I were regulars.Terrible experience, the French fries were dryer than a bag of potatoes chips. The pizza was soggy. On top of all that we waited 30mins and food was not fresh at all. All I was offered was a 20% discount on next order. I was expecting more.
Deep B — Google review
I never post reviews but the Henderson Hwy location in my opinion has been going down hill for awhile now. Ordered from there tonight and the fries were tasteless, like they were sitting around for awhile. The coleslaw is dry, never creamy like it used to be. The chicken is a hit and miss. Sometimes its so greasy the box falls apart, or it is tasteless. We always order the lucky 13 and seems like there is never the same amount of pieces in there. For example sometimes there could be 2 wings other times up to 4. And the same with other pieces, not consistant. And this one delivery driver, always takes the bags out of his delivery bag and places it on my steps before I get to the door. Like you cant leave it in your bag until i pay for it? If I am paying over $60, I dont want my food sitting on my steps until I get there and tasteless to boot! Really need to find a new chicken place!

!UPDATE! Spoke to a very nice employee who seemed to help get my message passed over, and who tried to help me the best he could but I cannot remember his name for the life of me! Assistant manager got ahold of me and apologized for everything that’s happened, offered money back or a free meal. It’s people like this who save the companies from losing business, after the conversation we had it seems like this problem won’t happen again . I appreciate the effort put in from these individuals! And if it weren’t for them I would no longer be buying from this location! Special thanks to Umar(hopefully I spelt that right) for all the help!!! ordered delivery friday and had to call to ask where the food was, was told my order was for pickup which was a lie, my confirmation email proved otherwise, then still proceeded to wait for the food to be delivered. In total waited 1hour and 54 mins to eat after ordering and food was stale/old/cold called back and asked for a manager and was told he wasn't in but would call me back Saturday, didn't call, i called back again asking when i should be expecting a call and got told Sunday, Sunday came around and i still didn't get a call. just called again and was told he still isn't in and i should get a call tonight. This is absolutely ridiculous being lied to and given the run around because they couldn't do their job correctly... I will keep calling till i get a manager, paying $80.00 for this is awful!!!!! Ive ordered from this location lots and this has never happened before. awfully disappointed in what they call their customer service

Chicken was RAW. Red and bloody. My husband became violently ill in the middle of the night after eating his dinner. He planted a chair in front of the toilet and proceeded to vomit for quite some time. You have no business serving food to the public if you have no idea how to safely prepare it.

Update: Replacement pizza del today hot and great taste, will order again.....Ordered pizza online for 530 del, finally arrived at 605, pizza was luke warm and went cold very quickly. Pick up burnt pizza gravy was lumpy didn't any of this terrible I'll never go back horrible..so I spoken to the manager on Sunday because he wasn't in on Saturday he tells me that because I didn't call the same day I pick this order up wich I explained to him I had a engagement to attend and couldn't phone them he says that there policy says that if you phone the same day he would give me my full refund but I did call them Saturday at 11 am he was not around now he says he would give me 20 percent off next order doesn't pay the tax I will definitely not be back at this place again!@@

Fried chicken takeaway
The Mary Brown's Chicken Takeaway in Halifax is a popular spot for fried chicken lovers. The restaurant has an excellent selection of chicken dishes, and the chicken is always cooked to perfection. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere relaxing and comfortable.
MB has the best spicy chicken sandwich, hands down. It's filling, actually has a bit of a kick and I love that you can request extra pickles or mayo without a surcharge. Add in the Big Mary Monday price deal and the sandwich blows the competition away. I won't go anywhere else for my fried chicken sandwich cravings. They also have fantastic taquitos (aka "chicken twists") which are very reasonably priced compared to what you get elsewhere. This location is clean, organized and has friendly employees! The parking lot is unfortunately tiny and often full later in the day.

Great Restaurant for fast food, great and cooperative staff. Their burgers are good especially the the spicy big mary sandwich. I usually go there on Mondays because there is special offer on burger. Their dips and fries are good too especially the spicy mayo and they are 100% HALAL

Fast service, tasty chicken. Ate here while my wife had a sleep break during labor across the street at Women's Health Centre. I didn't have alot of time to eat something and Mary Brown's was fast and hit the spot. Ordered the three piece tender combo and was very satisfied.

We’ve visited this place quite often and we are always satisfied with the food and the service. Chickens are crispy and are not really greasy, as well as my personal favourite tator tots. The team always maintains the place clean and organized, I’ve never seen a spill on the floor. They make this location truly the best MB location 10/10!
Seyoung Y — Google review
I’ve gone twice over the last 3 weeks for a “Big Mary” on Mondays. Both times the burger was anything but “Big”. Makes me think they’re cutting their chicken breasts in half or reserving the smallest pieces for Mondays since the burger is cheaper on Mondays. I remember getting the same burger at the McPhillips location a while back and it was significantly bigger.

So got food poisoning from this location end of March (along with being double charged). Reached out to the store, manager wasn't in so left a message. Everytime I call the store either the manager was out and it seems like my messages was never passed on to return my call or email. It's currently May and haven't heard a peep
Jordan B — Google review
Update:Got food poisoning next morning😖and yes I did follow up with an email to the bottom reply of Mary Browns but no response. My sandwich had to much sauce and when I was checking out was offered Mac and Cheese so I said sure but I didn’t know that it was actually Mac & Cheese Salad which I just didn’t really like the flavor at all but their tenders, chicken patty, taquitos and potato wedges were pretty good

I eat from mary browns every monday and I am a regular customer too I have visited different locations but for this one I found the portion side too small they should follow the franchise standards for portioning I guess.

Jollibee, the beloved Filipino fast-food chain, has made its mark globally with a menu that features mouthwatering fried chicken, sweet spaghetti, and delicious burgers. Originating in 1975 from an ice cream parlor in Quezon City, Jollibee quickly evolved to meet the demand for hearty meals. The Winnipeg location captures this essence perfectly, offering a vibrant atmosphere where locals and Filipinos alike can indulge in favorites like Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti.
We always want to eat in this branch as the employee are very polite and knew what they're doing, specially Meios who despite busy hours still showing smile and very energetic on greeting customer. I encourage you to be part of Jollibee Rewards as this gives discount and free food in the long run.

Good chicken 🐔. I like the spice mix on the batter. I had the chicken tenders and my partner had the Aloha burger with pineapple and bacon. For a side I had coleslaw, which was ok, and partner had fries. We both had the pies. The mango peach was nice but bit sweet and yam was interesting. Pineapple juice was a nuce treat. Good and popular chicken spot. Should try it.

One thing I can always count on is great food and service at a reasonable price when I go to any Smitty's. I took my partner out for brunch on this visit. Our wait staff was friendly, fast, attentive, and professional. Food was cooked very quickly to order. The only thing that detracted from the atmosphere was 2 loud speaking patrons keeping up a conversation with rough language. Overall great job to the Smitty's staff.

Olivia is fantastic. Her ability to work that entire restaurant is incredible. The food consistency is spot on, and they use high quality ingredients. Great selection of beer on tap, and still a good choice of spirits. I especially enjoy the antics of the regulars. Nothing too rowdy, unless a drunk outsider decides to cause problems.

Great experience, super baby friendly! My husband, my 11 month old baby and I came for breakfast last weekend after having to leave another restaurant due to them not having a high chair and had a great experience. Everything from the host to our server to the food exceeded our expectations. We were greeted with quick service and friendly staff who brought out a very nice high chair equipped with its own table and everything, not one of the wooden ones that has most babies almost falling out. They gave us a little toy for our daughter and just went above and beyond. Thank you for your considerate staff!

Being a local, I didn’t need a room so dod not go check them out. I went to 4Crowns for a memorial service on Oct 5,2025. It was a sad yet good occasion because the person had been a very nice human being with a kindness she shared with a lot of people. The restaurant served cheese and crackers, fruit plate, mini sausages, and dainties. It was all finger foods but very nice and I wanted a tea but the restaurant didn’t have the canister to hold hot water, so the waitress was so sweet and apologetic she let me have a Gingerale for free. It was a lovely service! I didn’t know anyone there except one person who knew the deceased very well!

Nothing like a Reuben for lunch especially when it's made properly. Lately I've had them just toasted and the corned beef is still cold. Nope! Nice grilled rye and meat just off the flat top, that's what 4 Crowns delivers. Along with crispy fries and thick gravy and a very attentive wait staff, if you have not tried them out, give it a go. And they have a large menu and breakie too!!

Did not like the roast beef dinner. Yuck. Salad was alright....it was just a ceasar salad. Homemade croutons were soggy. Atmosphere was ok. Didnt love it. And server seemed overwhelmed and quite loud. Held my food while taking an order at another table. Bizarre. I won't go back.

My sister and I went to Four Crowns Restaurant. Our server Connie was standoffish because my sister couldn’t decide what she wanted to drink. She left the menus and didn’t return. So I asked the Host if we could order after waiting for 10 minutes. We waited an additional 35 minutes for our food to arrive. I had the Perogies. Pretty expensive for what I had received.$18.50 a few green onions and a few real bacon bits $4.00 more if you added the sausage. I guess it was the bacon bits that cost a lot and sour cream. My sister had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. The bun was rock hard so she just ate the insides. We didn’t send it back cause it took over 35 minutes to get our meal. It wasn’t busy at all. Don’t think we will be returning to this Establishment.

The underground atmosphere was warm and inviting, with an old-time feel. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. I tried the braised onion soup with cheesy ciabata bread, for a starter. I had the ale cod and fries for the main dish. The soup wasn't overly seasoned and good. The cod was hot and the breading light. The waitress Maggie, was new, friendly and didn't have any recommendations. She was attentive and timely. A nice neighborhood crowd for a quiz night. I was visiting from the States. If recommend this place for good pub food.

I visited last night with my sister, her fiancé, and my cousin, who had just come from the Korn concert. We went to the bar to grab a drink before heading home, but we were completely ignored by the bartenders despite standing in a clear section for around twenty minutes. They repeatedly served others around us, even second rounds, while we were overlooked. My sister doesn’t drink.. we were not inebriated—we just wanted a beer and a mocktail. After waiting so long with no service, we left. Very disappointing and awkward as hell. I would not recommend that poor experience/service to anyone.

The ambiance is both lively and inviting, making it an ideal place for dinner or casual drinks with friends.
Had the perfect mid-week brunch with my boyfriend. We shared the So Lucky Platter—absolutely delicious! Highly recommend adding the chili oil on the side—it’s a bit spicy but full of flavor. Also had the Double Cheeseburger, and my boyfriend (a burger fanatic) loved it. Service was super friendly and everything came out fast. Honestly, everything felt like a 10/10. The vibe is what really stood out—fancy, but not too formal. There’s a see-through glass wall where you can see the old factory setup. It’s such a cool blend of history and modern style. Definitely worth checking out this summer!

I quite liked this place. It was unique in having the glass walled view of the old pumphouse inner- workings and over all it has a rugged yet trendy feel. Clearly a very popular place, especially on theater and concert hall nights. Our food was quite good, presented well and the staff was friendly (although a bit absent at times...but to be fair the place was very busy). Our wait was not long and all our dishes were flavourful (we were a party of 4). There was a small issue with one of the meals but the manager addressed it and corrected it to our satisfaction. This was our first visit and I would definitely go back. Our suggestions...try the California Clubhouse or the double double smashed burger.

Overall, the food was amazing, and vibe was amazing. Food - the tacos were amazing, it was flavourful, chewy, and melts on the mouth. The shrimps were also light, crunchy, and doesn’t feel oily. For the butter chicken, it was good. It was spicy, the rice wasn’t hard or to water, the naan bread was a bit too dry, but overall the food was amazing. Service - the staff there were very nice, polite, and fast. Atmosphere - they play good music, the vibe is really nice, and scenic.

This place is small inside. Love the view. Neat setting but the souvlaki platter was lost good except the chicken was all inedible. It was rubber like and when I asked the waiter they stated that’s thigh meat for you, well not true you trim those parks and the fat on the grill cooks . They did try to help by being some chicken breast and removing 50% off that platter. The smash burger was fine and the Asian salad was just okay. Love the view

My first visit, and easily could be my last. The food was pretty tasty, but the small portions with the high price tags don't make me eager to return. I ordered the California Club sandwich, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially appreciated the freshness of the ingredients they used. Disappointed to pay $19.00 for a sandwich though that didn't include any sides. Adding a handful of potato chips and a pickle would go a long way in adding value. This also holds true for the Braised Beef sandwich that my friend ordered for $20.00. Nobody wants to pay for a plate that is half empty! The Braised Beef Tacos were quite tasty but the dipping sauce was extremely salty. The salmon dish with orzo was also very tasty but there was an unusual amount of oil in the bottom of the dish. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter brownie which was over baked to the point of being crunchy. Again, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top would be a welcomed addition for the $12.50 price tag. This particular dessert was quite dry and underwhelming to say the least. If you are going to order dessert, I recommend the Ube Cheesecake. Also pricey, but uniquely moist and delicious! Their selection of G-Rated & Elevated beverages are fantastic! I ordered the Passionfruit Mule and definitely would have enjoyed another one had we lingered, but since it was extremely loud in there, lingering was not an option. If you are going out for an evening to catch up with friends, having a conversation will prove to be difficult. Tables are close together and the ceilings are high, which makes for a noisy dining environment. Hanging decorative sound absorbing panels might help. In spite of the noise level, the unique atmosphere is definitely worth the visit. The service was extremely slow, so be prepared for a leisurely stay. Overall, food was tasty and the atmosphere is unique. With a few minor adjustments, it could be a really enjoyable restaurant to frequent.

It’s a cool setting but it’s loud! It’s very hard to hold a conversation in this restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. Overcooked chicken schnitzel sandwich was pretty flavourless. Presentation was meh. Poutine wasn’t good. Nothing g special about the food. Not in a hurry to go back. It was very expensive for what it was.
Xox R — Google review
A festive option for 7 coworkers to have dinner. The setting is both edgy modern and historic (with the original pumping equipment in the factory still exhibited behind glass) and the food was really good. Our drinks were all delicious - pisco sours, mainly, but all the cocktails are good. I loved the XL pierogie and the salmon bowls were generous and varied in their flavors. The additional oil on the side has great flavor but tread carefully! Overall a lovely evening.

The Wood Tavern is a trendy new tavern with a very cool atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying drinks and eats. The ducks poutine was delicious, while the veggie burger was the best in town. The Gnocchi was dry and flavourless, but otherwise the meal was enjoyable.
I don’t know how this place isn’t absolutely packed every single night. The ambience is so earthy, cozy, and industrial. The drinks were delicious and the food? The food was incredible. Do yourself a favour and order the beef brisket (pic 1). Not your speed, the beef dip, also so good! I loved that it wasn’t just meat on bread! The fries were great and our server was amazing!

Food was excellent. Brisket was juicy and tender. Gnocchi was fresh and flavorful. Quite a variety of menu items that may change every six months. The hummus and cauliflower was not a hit for my group with the chili oil. I thought their Caesar salad was typical. Bruschetta is also nice. Very good drink menu to satisfy most. Attached to the Norwood Hotel. Service was actually pretty good. They were attentive and accommodating. Quick to respond and make recommendations. Ample seating. Can get busy. Rooms available for booking for private functions. Check it out!

We came here from outside the city, thought we would try something new. This place did not disappoint. The atmosphere is fantastic, beautiful lighting, very friendly service, and a very clean establishment. I highly recommend the brisket, and you can’t go wrong with any of their burgers. If you go there, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I’ve ventured into the Wood Tavern after attending a remembrance Day ceremony. I was hoping to find a place that I could have a decent breakfast. Thankfully, they were open, but we’re not serving alcohol until 1 PM. I sat down at the bar nonetheless because they had three big screen TVs right across from it. They do have an attached restaurant that has nice separated areas I imagine for group parties, etc. The dining room at the Norwood hotel was revamped a couple years ago, and I hadn’t been there since. I found the new look to be very inviting. And almost dare I say “ classy”. I ordered a regular two egg breakfast and a coffee. The server was very polite and efficient. The coffee was quite good. I would say somewhere between a Tim Hortons, coffee and a Starbucks coffee. (keeping in mind that this reviewer finds Starbucks coffee too strong). The breakfast portion was very generous. Four pieces of bacon (cooked as requested) two slices of well buttered toast(a pet peeve of mine is people that just smear the middle of the toast with butter. These were done as if the person making them was going to be eating them. It matters ). The eggs were cooked nicely. And the rather generous portion of hashbrowns were seasoned to perfection. All in, a very good breakfast . The server was right on top of things, but not overbearing. She refilled my coffee and brought extra cream without being asked. The only very slight issue I had was getting the bill. It was getting fairly busy by the time I was ready to go and she was occupied with other guests. I will definitely be back if for no other reason than to sample the beer they have on tap. 20 taps in all, and I was told that one of them has sangria and the rest are drafts. I could easily see watching a game here and sampling a lot of their offerings. The breakfast was expensive, but in my view well worth it.

We came here for the first time and loved it! Our waitress Lauren was very friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious — 5/5 to the chefs. You made my birthday special, thank you! We’ll definitely be back.

Food here is excellent! Had a large group and everyone's meal was exceptional. My only disappointment was the server. If you are going to be handling a large party with a 18% tip automatically included, there really shouldn't be as many slip ups as our server had. The table itself didn't have enough cutlery sets for people and when we asked for it, it took a while to come. We also asked for an extra glass as that was missing too but it never came the refill as well for another one in our party was forgot about until I brought it up again 15 min later.

The owner, Charlie Villapando, is a culinary arts program graduate and brings his expertise in Philippine fusion cuisine to the menu. The restaurant offers reinvented classics like Champs' interactive popcorn chicken and signature chicken wing sauces. Diners can enjoy dishes such as the OG tocino burger, kare kare poutine, and refreshing halo-halo drinks.
Great experience! A great mix of classic Canadian diner food along with Filipino specialties, it hits on all fronts. The "silog" meals are plentiful (my wife says the bangus is nice and crispy) and the portions are huge. Would definitely recommend.

We came to Charlee’s for dinner. The food was delicious, the soda too, and the service was great. We were served by Trevor and he was very attentive even though he was busy and running around. He made sure to check on us and compensated for stuff cause of wait time, etc. Prices are pretty good, affordable. We really enjoyed our time and it was a nice family outing overall! Highly recommend fries, burgers and wraps! Thank you Trevor and Charlee’s!

Went to meet up with friends for the new year to have dinner here. They have a kids meal menu, reasonably priced. The menu is of mixed Canadian and Filipino food. I ordered sweet chilli crispy chicken wrap and it was tasty. We also ordered Chicken Tender and Ribs Meal, Battered Fish and Chicken Tender kids meal. The food overall was good, the fries can use some seasoning, I enjoy the yam fries. The service was good, however, the kids did not get their ice cream dessert that should have came with the meal. We were there long enough to have it offered, we only learned about it later on when I looked at the kids menu that my son took home because he drew on the back of it. Since we are not regulars we didn't know. The place also has a lounge area VLT machine and karaoke event. Regardless of the kids missing their ice dessert we had a good visit.

Savory, had a great crutch, and the sweetness was just right. Chicken pot pie soup was a treat too. Good amount of crust and chicken and cream was spot on. Service was incredible. Very accommodating to my children and served them well. Great place to go again and again.

Bad experience with online/mobile order, they cancelled my order 2 Minutes before the pick-up time. I made an online order on April 30th and it was for pick-up at 5:00pm the following day. They charged my credit card right away and they sent a confirmation order right after. When I pulled in the drive-through, the crew told me the order was cancelled, i asked why they don’t know why it was cancelled just technical issues and that’s it! I’m so disappointed and chose not to re-order and argue, I just drove ahead. I was hoping to have a nice supper that day but this store is incompetent in many levels. 1. They could have informed me via e-mail(like what they did) earlier not 2 minutes before i arrived, so i could plan ahead and not waste my time. 2. they should call customers if the order was cancelled or anything have changed. 3. At least have decency to respect time and efforts of the customers! Don’t run mobile app or online ordering if it’s not fully functional.

We ordered from this Jollibee location for Father’s Day and unfortunately had the worst experience we’ve ever had. The food was incredibly bland… yes, even the Chickenjoy and Peach Mango Pie, which was surprising. We also ordered gravy, but only received half of a small container despite getting a bucket of chicken. Compared to the Ellice location, the taste and quality here consistently fall short. 🤷‍♀️

The Wienerpeg hot dog eatery is an outstanding establishment, offering heavenly and unique fare that is both fast and reasonably priced. The market-like ambiance adds to its charm, while the pickles are particularly memorable. Their Vanilla Cream Soda provides a nostalgic blast from the past, reminiscent of Hairy Putters butter beer. The generous portion sizes and good service further enhance the dining experience. However, seating availability at The Forks can be challenging.
Five stars, just for the name alone, haha! Saw the reviews that the dogs didn't hold up, but the pictures of the poutine had sold me, and they weren't wrong. The Pulled Pork Poutine was awesome. No shortage of pork, or gravy, or cheese. Enough to feed two normal sized people. To be honest, maybe they should just sell poutine and scrap the dogs.. but then the name wouldn't make sense.
C R — Google review
I was craving poutine, so I decided to give theirs a try—and I wasn’t disappointed! The portion was generous, easily enough for two people to share, and very reasonably priced. I loved how it had just the right amount of gravy and cheese—perfectly balanced. The service was fantastic, especially from Carl (I think that was his name). He was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. The ambiance was nice overall, but the music that night was a bit too loud in the main hall, making it hard to have a conversation. We ended up moving to a quieter spot, which worked out fine. All in all, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back!

Second time I ordered through Door Dash from here was nasty. I ordered the pulled pork poutine because it was good the first time. This second time the cheese curds were not melted and the pork was all mostly in one corner of the container. The pork had this dark skin with a bunch of pork just hanging off of it. The gravy was watery, when I tilted the box it pooled into one corner. Never ordering from here again. Does not at all look like the picture they have on Door Dash/their website of the pulled pork poutine. When I mixed everything together it looked even less appetizing, you can see in the pics.

Nice service ordering, cashier staff are super friendly and social, figured I’d try it out as it’s new. Got a bison dog and was pretty disappointed, huge half melted blob on cheese on it. Mustard wasn’t super enjoyable as there was to much and I wasn’t sure if it was a horseradish pesto combo but it was tough to get the first couple bites down. Didn’t finish. My partner got a corn dog and had about two bites and she loves corn dogs but this one didn’t do the trick. We tried the sodas as well but didn’t find them to be worth the second chance. Left them Fries were blanched but not really fried or crispy. Can’t say I’d recommend it. Not a great experience for $36.

This was the first stop I made after arriving in Winnipeg and I am so delighted to have had this welcome to the city. My family takes poutine very seriously (who doesn’t?) and I had seen Wienerpeg show up on a few Winnipeg poutine Reddit threads. We all picked the Wienerpeg special, and the fresh dill + cheese curd combo was perfection. We added on the classic poutine and it was the right choice. Squeaky curds, flavorful gravy, delicious fries. All this paired with the vibrant atmosphere of the market made for a great night. I am certain we will end up back here throughout our visit this week.

New York hotdog was awesome. The mustard and sauerkraut combo was so intense it cleared my sinuses in the best way possible. Corn dogs are excellent the batter to corn dog ratio is perfectly balanced. Great option at the forks whether you are picky and like a classic dog or if you like to spice it up ( seriously, that New York dog has a kick!) you will enjoy this option.
B K — Google review
This was a 1-star experience for several reasons: 1) Food quality was low and disappointing. The gravy had no flavour, the fries were smooshy, no crispness, the chicken strips were bland, and the "honey-mustard" dip was basically watery mustard, no honey at all. 2) The customer service was AWFUL! When I ordered, I requested 2 extra chicken strips. That was fine, but after I paid, I had a second look at the bill on the screen, and realized that the clerk charged me for FOUR extra strips, not two, like I requested. I pointed this out and both the clerk and her manager had a LOT of trouble wrapping their head around the mistake (ei: 2 strips at $3 each should = $6, NOT $12). The manager half apologized, and said they didn't have AI on their machine yet! AI? I told her that you need basic common sense and math skills to figure this out. Ohhh! She didn't like that! She told me I was being "RUDE" for mentioning common sense! And, she added that the screen was visible to me,and I should have said something in the first place! Essentially, she was blaming me for her staff's error! I really really wanted to be rude, to give this entitled snowflake a basis of comparison, but I just took my refund for the extra unwanted chicken strips and my buzzer and walked away. My review of the food itself is in part 1). In conclusion: I do not recommend the food or service. I do recommend that the staff and manager go back to school for some basic math, and customer service skills.

Probably the best burger I’ve ever had. The beef is something special and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Extremely tender and delicious. The ratio of chili and tomato jam on the Yard Boy is perfect. We try to come here every few weeks as it is quite far for us, but totally work the effort to get downtown.

Never written a review before, but I just couldn't shake off how my last visit made me feel. I'd give this restaurant 5 stars if it weren’t for the crazy price hike. I love the food, always have. And I recently came back after about 2 years, since I moved to a bigger city for school. Hoping to enjoy a nice wagyu burger, like ones I've had before, but the price left me shocked. I first visited in 2018 when Yard Burger was still "new", and while I understand prices have gone up everywhere, it’s still disappointing to see such a big increase, especially for a place I’ve always enjoyed. This is downtown Winnipeg, not Vancouver. I really wish I could continue enjoying the food and cozy vibe without worrying about how big the bill is gonna be for a small meal. It used to be a spot I’d visit regularly, prior to moving, but now, I don't want to :((

I don’t find the burgers overly small. If anything, I prefer these to the trend of burgers that are bigger than your head and leave you feeling full to bursting or else with soggy leftovers. These are perfectly sized for me, and it’s one of the only places I’ve found that does a smash burger my preferred way, with a proper crust on the patty and a soft potato bun. Price is pretty on par with other comparable options downtown these days. Fries are thick and crispy and come in a HUGE portion; dill slaw with feta was delicious.

Ordered the 342 Burger $10. It has a wagyu patty, cheddar, butter leaf, pickle and yard sauce. We did bacon +2.5. I'd recommend doubling it (extra $4) because the burger itself is pretty small. I felt like i was eating a mini burger. It tasted good. Solid Burger. The Poutine at $7 seemed like a good price if you want a lot of fries. The cheese was a bit lacking though. You CAN add $2 and add more cheese to it. It is located in hargrave market. Right now parking underground seemed reasonably cheap. I'd suggest parking there if there's space.

CRSPY BNCH is a popular spot known for its delicious fried chicken sandwiches and other tasty offerings. During the busy fried chicken week, many customers flocked to the restaurant, leading to some delays in orders. Despite this, the massive Cheat Day Sandwich impressed with its size and flavor. The place is run by passionate individuals who offer a variety of mouthwatering options that can make it challenging to decide what to order.
Fried chicken week review: Friday evening, ordered 1 of each of the fried chicken sandwiches in the afternoon. Order was about a half hour late but I could understand why, the place was slammed. Lots of people waiting outside, we were eventually told they would call us when our order was ready, which they did and everything was fine. The first sandwich we attempted was called the Cheat Day Sandwich. The name was perfectly suited. This thing was massive. The pieces of chicken were thick, juicy, and had a crunchy breading that held together nicely. The grilled cheese sandwich buns would likely have been delicious on their own, but they were a work of art in this format. The combination of the heavily buttered grilled cheese buns and the fried chicken made for a very greasy meal, but we didn't mind. The pickles really helped cut through the fat and were basically essential for this sandwich. The sweet slaw was great but the hot sauce was completely lost in the mix. Honestly, this was one of the best and surely the most memorable chicken sandwich I've had. The second sandwich was called the Juicy Side Chic'N. It was equally massive, if not more so, compared to the Cheat Day. This one felt a little batter heavy but the baguette bun was easier to manage than the grilled cheese. The egg salad spread was an interesting addition, and the cucumber shone through nicely. Definitely a winner in its own right, but a second place finish when compared to the Cheat Day.

Ordered Korean Flare - CCC and Garlic Parmesan - CCC for pickup through Uber. Also specified to have extra sauce for both. Both meats inside were flavorless. Korean Flare - CCC was soggy, the sauce barely had any flavor or spiciness to it. Not even sure why they call it "Korean". Garlic Parmesan - CCC was somewhat crispy, but very greasy, since it was drowning in oil. The sauce was not strong in flavor either. I was sharing it with another person and it was kinda challenging to share it equally because they tasted so bland that you cannot even tell which bucket's piece you just had if you didn't pay conscious attention to it. The only positive things are that one CCC is filling enough for one person (could be due to greasiness though) and that it was well-packaged and convenient to eat right away. Personally, I would not be coming back and won't recommend for others either. Look elsewhere unless you like greasy food and are allergic to flavor.

I am no chicken when I want to try a fried bird. I love to try frird chicken whenever and wherever I can. And I had their fried chicken once before but in the passing, and I didn't have much time to decide and got what i could and it was tasty as cluck. Run by young enterprising people and feel like they love what they are doing. It can get a bit confusing to order here as everything is freaking tasty and awesome. As a winner of the Fried Chicken Week 2021-22 I wanted to try theirs and their sister restaurant SEA LEVEL 1000(run from the same place.) This was a must try before the fried chicken week goes by. Their take is the Jamaican inspired sandwich. Begniets for bun, jerk marinated and seasoned double fried chicken(oh sooooo crispy) the chicken(mix of breast and thigh) was beaten flat and marinated so so well it was juicy and crispy. Creamy coleslaw and their jamican spice inspired mayo was really really amazing to taste. Their take and spin is really beautiful. If you are craving fried chicken eating here should be a no brainer.

Bad experience. The staff does not wash their hands after using the toilet and touches food with dirty hands after picking their nose—this is unacceptable and raises serious hygiene concerns.

Restaurant
Sea Level 100 offers a diverse menu featuring Japanese-style fried chicken with zesty ginger coleslaw, sushi rice, and Chef D's sweet sauce served in a nori taco shell. The restaurant is known for its variety of seafood boils and fries with Asian and Filipino-inspired flavors. Customers praise the crispy yet tender butterfly squid and commend the consistency of the dishes. The young entrepreneurs running the place are passionate about their offerings, evident in the quality of food and sauces.
Pro Tip: Yo Butterfly squid! Its Delicious. I'm very impressed with the consistency. We ordered the butterfly squid at different times and each time it came out crispy on the outside, but tender on the inside. I'm hesitant on squid sometimes due to rubberiness, but there was no issues here. The flavors are all very good. Their sauces are A+ The fried rice on its own was ok, but if you have the drippings from the seafood its fantastic. I forgot the name of the dish, and I forgot to take a picture of the menu... The seafood sisig was one of my favorites. I liked that its done with basa instead of pork. I heart the seafood kamayan! It was an amazing experience. Its nice to know you can go to a restaurant and order it. I was looking before but I wasn't sure where to find it. Pricing for our 6-8 was $99.99, but there is a smaller one for 3-5 people at $69.99. Very instagram worthy, beautiful presentation. There is some street parking (though not directly in front of the building, its on the side street), but there is ALSO a parking lot in the back. I know for sure there's room at night, though I haven't been there for lunch to know otherwise.

This restaurant has good food however their sauces and crisp in batter are lacking. Their bbq sauce is bullseye, their Korean flare sauce tastes like frank's hot sauce with a tiny bit of red pepper paste, their calamari dip tastes like mayo with siracha. Their sauces aren't special or fancy. Their fried chicken is soft and doesn't have a crunch. Their regular fries don't taste like fries, they gave little to no taste and are greasy. Their calamari is delicious, they have a perfect balance between batter and crispness. Their prices are fair. 25$ got us a game box with 14 pieces of chicken 2 flavours and A LOT of fries. Definitely worth trying at least once.

I ordered food for takeout (over 1 hour for rice and meet). When I opened the food, my jaw dropped. Leftover food would have more meat than this. I tried one piece. It was cold and very blend with unpleasant meat smell. I felt like I've been humiliated.

This place has such a variety of sea food boils and fries. Asian and heavily filipino inspired dishes and flavors you will be in fla fla flavourland. As a winner of the Fried Chicken Week 2021-22 I wanted to try theirs and their sister restaurant CRSPY BNCH(run from the same place.) This was a must try before the fried chicken week goes by. Their take on Asian flavor inspired Waffle and Chicken was amazing. Bubble waffle made with buttermilk and coconut flavors Topped with umami and crispy double fried chicken. accompanied by coconut cream butter, umami bases soy garlic sauce, hot sauce, and sweet salty waffle syrup. Garnished with seasame seeds and scallions. This fried chicken and waffle take should be a mainstay. If you are craving fried seafood and boils inspired by Asia, eating here should be a no brainer.

One of the worst places Ive ordered from. The potatoes were raw on the inside, not fried or seasoned just lazily half boiled, and DIRTY. Crunchy with dirt. I called and they said they would give a call back and never did. A place that wants you to eat dirt is not worth anything. I hope a health inspector visits. Jfc. Thats not even starting on the calamari, it had no seasoning whatsoever. Terrible.
Vero W — Google review
The food was amazing! Time estimates on when your food will be ready was way off. Usually half the time (If not earlier) they estimate. Which normally a good thing except for when you think you have enough time to run an errand in between only to now get soggy instead of crunchy.

We went here for the first time with Fried Chicken Fest. Absolutely delicious japanese style fried chicken taco. Great coleslaw and sauce in this dish. They used a nori taco shell that had a great tempura batter on it. Delicious. We are hoping this item becomes part of their normal menu - definitely worth going back there. Takeout only - no dine in at this time.

SMITH Restaurant, located at Inn at the Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba, offers a unique dining experience with its woods-chic ambiance and seasonal menu. The restaurant's decor seamlessly blends modern elegance with rustic charm, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere suitable for special occasions or casual gatherings. The menu features select, locally sourced fare including prairie proteins like Arctic char and rabbit, as well as Canadian beef prepared in various ways.
Had dinner here and it was amazing! The food was super delicious and full of flavor. The service was great — everyone was really friendly and made us feel welcome. Such a nice spot for a chill evening. Definitely coming back!

This restaurant is absolutely stunning!✨✨✨✨✨ The service was truly exceptional, and the food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The bathrooms were impeccably clean, and the spacious layout provided a peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal spot for large groups and events. The drinks menu is impressive, and the soup of the day was incredible and very filling. The halibut is a must-try if you get the chance. While the menu is geared towards high-end adult tastes, they also offer a children's menu, making it a great option for family outings or date nights. Although the prices are a bit on the higher side, it's understandable given the upscale quality. One thing to note is that parking is limited and not free, so it's best to arrive early to secure a spot and avoid a long walk, especially in heels.👠🥰

It’s a beautiful space, but the service was distracted, and the food was mixed. I was careful to order only a couple of items given the poor reviews, especially on how meat was cooked. We had the pounded cheddar, the hummus, the meatballs, and the hamburger with truffle fries. We had a flight of local beers as well and a couple of Stella Artois. All of these dishes were good. The pounded cheddar is such an appealing item, but the vinegar is really offputting. Quite frankly, I’m surprised it’s on the menu. It would take nothing to remove the vinegar from the recipe. The hummus was excellent. The meatballs were even better and the hamburger was really good.

Went to SMITH while in Winnipeg last week and enjoyed the experience. The food is excellent and the gnocchi was some of the best I've had. It was light and fluffy with a well balanced sauce and oyster mushrooms. The creme brulee was also excellent, not too sweet and with a good crust on top. Overall they have a good wine and cocktail list with decent selection. Our table was a large group and it was odd to have only one server bringing food out, eventually they had a second server help but it was after most meals had been sitting waiting a bit too long. Otherwise our server Jenna was excellent, very personable and did a good job managing a large group on her own. The space is cute with a bit of a mid-century hipster vibe. The downside is that it is very loud and the acoustics in the space are tough with high reverberation levels. Which makes speaking to or hearing those at your table very difficult. Some sound buffering materials on the ceiling would help immensely. The restaurant does close early some nights and was closing by 10pm our first night which meant we had to go elsewhere for supper due to a late flight.

The Smith is one of the only restaurants at the Forks that I would bring business clients to. Overall did not disappoint. The tuna appetizer was flavourful but very tiny, I would not order again. I had the Salmon special which was tasty, Brussels sprouts bang on and my guest said the risotto was cooked perfect. Service was great and only complaint was the martini I had. I asked for it dirty but they went overboard with the olive juice. I should have sent it back. If in the forks area and looking for a higher end restaurant, the Smith won’t disappoint.

Wonderful food and service. Tried breakfast here and the pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommended as the location is prime, atmosphere is excellent and you get one of the best restaurant experiences here in all of Winnipeg.

Always a great breakfast. Chia seed pudding is amazing and a nice big bowl of fruit. Service was fantastic as Liberty is a gem of a human.

We had a babysitter to go out for a nice dinner, and although the restaurant was almost completely empty, we were sat immediately next to the one family with a screaming baby. The food was really pretty good, however we ordered an appetizer that just didn’t ever show up. The service was extremely slow (for example, we ordered a beer before we got food and it didn’t arrive until we were finished our dinner). Essentially although food was good, it just wasn’t a professionally done restaurant experience.

We had a wonderful night !! We booked a table ahead and were taken care of by staff really quickly. The restaurant was cozy and the food was amazing too. Shareable dishes we had nacho and fries. Nacho was delicious! We all ordered different pizzas but we were pretty much full from the shared meals haha. Highly recommend for everyone.

Went to Confusion Corner last night and had the best time! The patio vibes are absolutely insane—such a perfect spot to hang out. Service was super friendly and prompt, and the food? Chef’s kiss. Everything was delicious, but the real star of the night was the lychee martini—do yourself a favor and try it!

Food was ok. They have gluten free and vegan options for extra. It's a very large space with good seating to hang out or check out the game. It's for a good vibe. The downside is that they can be poorly staffed. When we went, they only had one server when it was very busy. Our server was very nice and apologetic. However, I think I only saw them twice. First when they took our order and when we got the bill. The place has potential if they were properly staffed.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, Velvet Glove Restaurant, also known as VG Restaurant, is a sophisticated and upscale eatery located within the Fairmont Hotel. The restaurant offers a refined dining experience with an emphasis on local cuisine and wine pairings. We had a wonderful dining experience at Velvet Glove Restaurant, thanks to the outstanding service provided by Rod. From the moment we arrived, he was attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. He ensured our dinner was seamless, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was fantastic, but Rod’s hospitality truly made the evening special. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We tried the nutcracker themed high tea. There was a nice setup with cute little touches for the theme. There was a good tea selection. The scones were very good with a nice compote selection. The desserts were all very good tasting as well. Some of the savory items, such as the turkey sandwich, had a nice kick of flavor, while others were a little bland. I would say the high tea is definitely worth giving it a try.

A Truly Elegant Afternoon Tea Experience at Velvet Glove, Fairmont Winnipeg I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Afternoon Tea at the Velvet Glove restaurant in the Fairmont Winnipeg, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The atmosphere is elegant and contemporary, providing a perfect setting to relax and indulge. The tiered presentation of tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delectable sweets was beautifully crafted and seasonally inspired, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as accommodating dietary restrictions and the inviting ambiance that made it a memorable occasion. I look forward to returning soon to try their next themed offering!

Have been multiple times and always had an excellent experience at the Velvet Glove Lounge at the Fairmont. Exceptional service and wide selection of cocktails and fine eats. We had cauliflower wings that might be the best I've had. Nice atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating - serving us breakfast outside of the usual hours. Really enjoyed our visit to both the hotel and the restaurant.

Updated review: I have in the past given the Velvet Glove (Though renamed VG Restaurant) 5 stars. It continues to hold it. I went twice in a relatively short time frame. On my previous visit we were allowed to order from the new fall menu. We did Milk buns, pickerel fritters, tomato salad , Bison Tartare, Strip loin, Porchetta, Peanut butter dessert and Cake for two. The milk buns were a great highlight. They no longer serve a bread basket however. On this visit I tried the vegan menu and had the cauliflower fritters, gnocchi, boudha bowl and the cake. The cauliflower fritters and the gnocchi were outstanding. I do not believe they are on the regular menu, but I don't see why not. I am not a vegan (as you can tell from my first visit), but I think these two items would do well on their regular menu. Regardless of vegan fritter or pickerel fritter, you can't go wrong with either. I personally wasn't as much a fan of the tomato salad that night, but I think that was just personal taste. I think I have to be in a certain mood for it, as it is pickled. The bison tartare was a solid choice. I enjoyed the porchetta, but I feel it is more a sharing dish unless you have someone who very much likes to eat a lot of pork. It is a VERY large piece of meat and as much as I love meat, for myself it was too heavy. I liked the variety and the sides we received with the strip loin. Out of the desserts I was a fan of the peanut butter one, but that is personal preference. My friend ate the cake for two by herself, which I think says how good that was. Previous review ----------------------------------------- My meal tonight was outstanding. It was part of a special menu (the local authentic experience). Aside from the service going above and beyond, the food plating, presentation and flavors were all fantastic. Its been a long time since I've had a meal this good in Winnipeg (my other recollection would be Segovia which is in the Canada's 100 best list) Their price point is also friendlier than some other high end restaurants with comparable level of quality. Dinner includes parking but you do need to get it validated before you leave (Valet as well as self park). Lunch does not. Dinner is only open Friday and Saturday.

My friends and I went to the Velvet Glove for their Autumn High Tea experience. It was the first time for all of us when doing high tea and I could not have had a better time! It was so fun to be with my friends and our waiter, Rod was excellent! He was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure we were taken care of. The table was set with the tea cups and saucers decorated with flowers - the kind you would expect for the occassion. Two different menus were set on the table for everyone. One for the variety of teas that they had on one side and drinks with alcohol on the other - I had the chai tea and it was delicious as well as a mimosa. The tea comes out in various sizes of teapots all unique in design as well. It's also accompanied by milk and individual mini pots of honey. The second menu showed the sandwiches and dainties that you would be served on a tower. There was six of us and each tower had pieces ready for each person to take. The food was quite yummy! The menu is set and it's $59 per person not including taxes and gratuity. Although, the gratuity is automatically added on to the bill as well, which our server told us about. A couple of us were skeptical if the food would be enough and leave us hungry, but that was not the case at all! We had leftovers and all of us were full! The Sunday that we went (their high teas are only on Sundays) it was not very busy - which was great for us! Aside from going to experience the high tea life, we were also sending off a friend who was moving and they were very accommodating and made that occassion very special. I would definitely go back to do it again! The hotel does have street parking, but they also have a parkade (Richardson Centre Parkade - googleable to map to). I used the parkade and paid about $12 for ~2.5 hrs. I believe it's $2 for every 30 mins and $14 for daily? They do not validate parking, although it would be nice if they did!

MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH This by far is the best place for Mothers Day. Yes, it is pricey but... I did not feel rushed at all. They set up the seating so that you are not crowded. They are always quick to bring you more coffee. clear your plate or bring you more mimosas... (which are included) Keep in mind this is a buffet and you need to go into the lobby to get your food but it was ALL good! The eggs benny was fantastic. So, I have not eaten here for dinner or lunch but I really felt special and comfortable for a Mothers day brunch. The ONLY DOWNFALL is the bathrooms. The toilets are way too low for anyone with need problems...

We stopped at Rudy's for a meeting and work lunch while in Winnipeg for a conference. It is conveniently located in downtown Winnipeg, within close walking distance from the Convention Centre. There were lots of great seating options, and it had a very cozy vibe. We were seated right away at a high top table that was perfect for a meeting. While it was very busy, we were served our drinks right away, and the food came shortly after. I opted for the chicken cobb salad wrap - it was nothing short of DELICIOUS! The chicken was tender and juicy, it had creamy avocado, crispy bacon and hardboiled egg, with lettuce and tomato - the perfect cobb salad. I requested the house salad for my side, which had a lovely light and tangy dressing. Overall, great experience with delicious food and nice ambiance.

The waiter was kind and friendly. A waitress ending her shift was outgoing and bubbly. Came at about 1:50 pm. No other customers in the restaurant. Restaurant (furniture, bathroom, counter) was run down (dirty walls, sticky bar top, peeling furniture). Food was absolutely terrible. I had the Chicken Cobb Wrap, it tasted off so I did not finish it (lettuce was yellowing and limp, something tasted very weird). Partner had mussels and they weren’t properly prepared, very fishy, and he got a lot of shells in his mouth. His draught beer tasted off. We didn’t finish our food nor did he finish his beer. Didn’t want to make anyone feel bad so we paid and left (we will never go back). Upon leaving, my partner immediately puked everything up. I hope I don’t get food poisoning as I am pregnant. No need to respond restaurant, just letting the public know.

Fantastic downtown place to eat. Our waitress Jusstice was absolutely fantastic. Highlight of our visit(s). Highly professional with speech and body language, knows the menu inside & Out. Just watching her serve other parties was a treat seeing how she handle various clientele. She would check up on us regarding how our food is tasting and she would see that we just stuffed our faces full of food and she would ask a yes or no question (which could be answered with a simple nod) and leaves, which is absolutely appreciated by because you don't need to clear your face or look like that guy who's trying to talk with their mouth full. I ordered the BLT wrap both times I went, it came with their signature Russian dressing and it was the best wrap I've ever had. It was stuffed full of bacon the dressing with just enough on the outside it was crunchy was well put together, and a side of fries was very tasty as well. Excellent, although somewhat pricey, dining experience.

I keep going back here every time I am meeting someone I want to enjoy the food and be able to actually talk and have good time. Lots of free refills and the free chips and salsa are delicious. If you haven't been here please give it a go and let me know if you feel the same way I do. Everything on the menu is good. Try the grilled chicken blt for something delicious and new. Everything was lovely except for the noise level from the staff. We were sat in the larger tables behind the host stand and they chose to vacuum the entry way while we were eating/trying to chat with one another and the vacuum picking up the rocks/sand from outside was super unpleasant. It seemed like the manager was yapping on the phone in the waiting area and we could hear his conversation from where we were sitting. Our server was lovely and very attentive, not overbearing. I would say the staff waiting to seat people should be mindful that people can hear them and their personal conversations. Food was great. We shared various appetizers and I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich.

Went for dinner Thursday. Started with an excellent Granville IPA on tap. Although I heard some of the other dinner items were very good I ordered the Country Chicken once again and out of the 5 or so times I’ve had it, I think this was the best yet! Great crunch to the chicken, very well prepared, I ordered mashed potatoes again which were good but also went with the fries which I heard were terrific. The fries were fantastic. I really like the available selection of hot sauces displayed near the kitchen - there must be 40 different bottles - and all 4 bottles I took back to our table were superb. Service by Emma was outstanding. Already looking forward to my next visit…….

Cocoabeans Gluten Free is a charming cafe and bakery that specializes in gluten-free offerings, including artisanal desserts and locally sourced light fare with vegan options. Influenced by Eastern European flavors, the menu features popular items like kielbasa sausage and perogies, often dairy-free. The bakeshop offers Manitoba chicken fingers, burgers, soups, cake mixes, pies, breads, buttermilk chicken, and must-try onion rings.
I have been shopping around for gluten-free sweets and was happy to find this place. I tried a couple of their cupcakes. The chocolate strawberry was moist, not too dense for gluten-free, and had a nice light icing. The vanilla coconut cupcake was a little drier but still okay. I'd definitely come back to try some more sweets here. There was a good variety of breads and frozen foods here as well. Will definitely be back in the future.

A wonderful gluten free bakery with a variety of items. There were cookies, brownies in a cup mix, gingerbread house kits and plenty of savoury items including lasagna and pot pies. Small take out bakery and everything is Gluten Free! I got the sourdough baguette for my celiac friend's birthday party and it was great. Heated up in the oven for 10 mins and it was soft in the middle and crispy on the outside, but not too dense. Had a great sourdough flavour, perfect for the dip I made. No seating, just for take out.

Learned about Cocoabeans on a morning news TV show. Went there on a Saturday to buy GF bread: 1 sourdough and 1 prairie grain. I knew at $11.50 each these were far more than Costco or other retailers. But the quality / taste / texture was much less than I expected from a specialist in these items. They were quite hard, stiff and unpleasant taste. Also, by Tuesday the sourdough loaf was showing green mold so not sure how long they were on the shelf. Disappointing and expensive experience. Thanks for fast response. We were the only customers in the store at the time, I mentioned I was hoping for better than box store, and no comment or instructions were given regarding freezer, storage, shelf life or anything. That might have been helpful

The buns were very good, I have no problem with gluten but usually can tell the difference when I have gluten free foods. These buns were great. The breading on the chicken was delicious, crunchy and tasty. The cake was a bit heavy in texture, but still rich and chocolaty,. Saw a pizza on our way out and it looked pretty good too. On the whole, I found it a bit expensive since I don't need to avoid gluten, but for someone who needs to avoid it this is a great place. I would cheerfully go with someone who needs it and look forward to taking our visitors there.

I wanted to update my review as I have been to the new bakery. I purchased bread, brownies and muffins and they were all so very good. But my review on the cinnamon buns stands. Sorry, but they are terrible. A new recipe needs to be worked up for the cinnamon buns. But definitely try the muffins, they are so good! Edit: I wanted to comment back to the reply from the restaurant. I did follow all the directions exactly as written. They were pretty straight forward. I left the buns in the fridge overnight and then left them on the counter to get to room temperature. Let my oven get to temperature. I also completely forgot to add any oil on top of my buns before I baked them. So all the oil in this pan was from the prepared amount. My oven has no issue baking other recipes I make regularly and I ended up having to bake these for quite a bit longer than recommended because of the amount of oil in the pan. I am an experienced baker and these were just a take home fail for me, especially for the price. Ended up throwing them out. Original review: I bought the cinnamon buns frozen from vita health. Take and bake kind of deal. $16 + tax for 4 buns! These were a big miss for me. The amount of oil in the pan after baking was a bit excessive. The buns also had a very wet gummy chewy texture. The vegan aspect also is a big miss for me, they needed that gloppy thick butter cinnamon and the cinnamon layer was very basic and thin. They actually made me miss gluten buns even more. I was not at all satisfied with these. Maybe their baked fresh from the bakery ones are better, but who knows how fresh these were from the freezer. Unfortunately these were the first things I tried from this shop, but I think it if try anything else I will get something backed by them fresh to compare.

Great staff! Farm to table, creative menu with gluten-free, healthy theme. Excellent brunch with Choco chip pancakes and bananas, side of sausage. Also had the avocado toast with poached free run eggs. Nice Cap coffee.

Juneberry is a laid-back eatery with a terrace in Old St. Vital that offers light bites, salads, and sides along with coffee and cocktails. The interior is warm and inviting while the patio has stunning views of the river.
Had a great experience at Juneberry. We all tried as many different things as possible to get a good lay of the land. The braised beef hash was delicious, my wife's apricot parfait was also great. I usually don't bother with the coffee at these sorts of places, but the coconut shaken espresso was a winner. Would definitely go back.

The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the Short Rib Hash - it was mouthwatering! The beef was tender and juicy; the potatoes - very tender; The right amount of veggies, lots of sauteed mushrooms and the right amount of sauce. While the food is great - the service can be more attentive, kind and timely.

This place provides it all. Excellent service, 5 star food, and a lovely atmosphere to boot. Emma our server did an excellent job on explaining the meals. And helping us with the right cocktail for each of us. You have to come here if you never have before. Seriously, why aren’t you here yet? This place is definitely a bucket list location out of all the restaurants in Winnipeg. CHECK IT OUT. Also if your worried about waiting, sign up online before you go and they’ll let you know when you can come in so it’s easily to gauge rather than guessing or even calling to reserve your times. The whole team and vibe is through the roof thanks for having us.

Food is top-notch. Well prepared with quality ingredients. Unique tastes. Espresso is overall well prepared. Not the best but pretty good for a restaurant. Service is pretty good. Not super attentive but better than average. A little tighter seating inside. There is outdoor seating on a nicer day. Otherwise, you'll be waiting, especially on the weekend, as it can get quite busy. Another downside of the space is the single washroom that needs a key. However when open, you can sneak into the lounge across the way to use their washroom. At least 4.5. Very recommend.

Gave this spot a try on our way to the Mint. The patio has comfortable seating and heat lamps. We enjoyed our lattes, the Juneberry pancakes, and the Honduran baleadas. The pancake portions are very generous, I ordered two and wasn't able to finish them. 🥞

The space itself has a nice, cozy ambiance (bright and inviting), perfect for a morning catch-up or a relaxed breakfast. We ordered mushroom prosciutto and eggs benedict. Both were beautifully plated (see photos) and tasted just as good as they looked.

First off, the food was delicious! It was plated perfectly and showcased your order so that you wanted to dive right in to it! The coffee was fresh and very good without being too strong...and they are very attentive about refills. The restaurant itself is fairly loud when it's full, and there may be a fairly long wait time, but you can add your name to their online waitlist while on your way, which will shorten your wait time since you get a text telling you when you're next in line to be seated. The prices are what you would pay anywhere for great service and food. All being said, we totally enjoyed the food and the service so it's definitely a place we will visit again!

A Delightful Breakfast Experience My recent visit to Juneberry was nothing short of extraordinary. We decided to dine on their adorable patio, which offered a cozy and charming atmosphere perfect for a relaxed breakfast. The ambiance alone is worth the visit. Both the food and service exceeded our expectations. The menu boasts a fantastic variety of breakfast options, all of which are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Every dish we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that our experience was top-notch from start to finish. One thing to note is that Juneberry is quite popular, and it's not uncommon to see a long lineup. We made sure to get there early, which allowed us to enjoy our meal without any wait. Overall, if you're looking for a breakfast spot that combines excellent food, outstanding service, and a delightful patio setting, Juneberry is a must-visit. Just remember to arrive early to beat the crowds!

Pegs Bistro is an asian fusion restaurant in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Stir Fry House offers a variety of dishes made with fresh and healthy ingredients. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and willing to help diners choose the best dish for their taste. The restaurant has a clean facility and reasonable prices.
From the time we entered, to ordering, to enjoying our meal and till we left; we were met with 3 staff who were excellent with their communication, customer service and were friendly. They made recommendations to us when we were selecting our meals and repeated things to us if we had any questions. Our food was excellent, hot off the stove and the flavor was 10/10 (I have no idea which sauces I all got in the moment but the combination was amazing). The staff at this location clearly care about their work and it’s been a long time we’ve been somewhere that had this level of customer service and caring for the customer experience. Not to mention, we were the only customers and yet the staff looked busy cleaning, tending to their tasks and still checked in with us several times asking how we liked our food. They also were friendly when we were leaving the restaurant, we didn’t have to ask for a takeout bag and were offered one without prompts. If we have any critiques they are that the music was a bit loud right at the counter when ordering (the speaker seemed to be close to the counter) and that the theme of the restaurant is a little bit odd with the black light and dark paint/wall art but that’s personal preference more so. Overall, we’d give this restaurant a 10/10 for experience and the food was also excellent.

1st time at the Stir Fry House. I appreciated the time the counter person took to explain how the process works and the different sauces and how to customize your stir-fry so it's perfect for your individual taste. The ingredients were very fresh! We were able to watch the chef cook our stir-frys to perfection on a large circular grill. Service was excellent and quick. Serving size was huge and tasted great. My husband and I both ordered a regular size and couldn't eat even 1/2 of it but my husband had no problem finishing his and would have helped me with mine except it was too spicy for him. Will be back to try different variations! Recommended for quick, healthy, and tasty meal.

The service here was outstanding! the staff were so helpful, explained everything clearly, and even recommended the best dishes to try. There are many options on the menu, and everything we ordered was fresh, savory, and full of flavor. Every bite was rich in taste and so satisfying. Definitely one of the best noodle places I’ve been to. Highly recommended!

Had a superb experience at this stir fry noodle place. The service was exceptional, the staff member was very helpful with us being first time customers. We opted for a level 3 spice because he stated it might be too much if you have moderate tolerance and our noodles had a nice kick. The place was quite empty when we dropped in, but interior was very comfortable and clean. Would love to come back to try their other items!

My husband and I felt like stir-fry and Google introduced us to this place. The staff are so friendly and pleasant. The value is refreshing. We ate until we were stuffed and I don't even think I ate 1/3 of my stir-fry! One recommendation I would make is to add extra meat or vegetables- it's only $1.99 more, so why not?!

This is hands down one of the BEST hidden gems I've found in the city. It's a simple build your own stir fry place with tons of options. Everything is reasonably priced and the food is delicious. I ordered the half noodle half veg stir fry and the calamari. My boyfriend got the mixed meat with udon. The restaurant has this crazy beautiful mural and this spot where you can see your food being made. The calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. Absolutely a must try place.

SPICY GRILL EAST INDIAN AND HAKKA RESTAURANT is a welcoming place with a commitment to providing impeccable service, exquisite flavors, and beautiful presentation. The restaurant offers the option of home delivery and catering for various events. Visitors have praised the delicious food, particularly highlighting the buffet concept during COVID-19 restrictions as an innovative way to minimize waste while still enjoying a variety of dishes.

I ordered the lamb biryani through Uber Eats and was very disappointed. There was a super low amount of lamb—barely any meat at all. To compensate, they've clearly used an excessive amount of rice to fill the container. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Went here with a group of friends, and we all ended up with upset stomachs within an hour of leaving — says a lot about the food quality. Everything tasted stale and off, like it had been sitting out way too long. They call it a buffet, but what we got was basically four dishes you had to keep asking for every time you wanted more — a truly “unique” buffet experience, if by that they mean inconvenient and disappointing. The only redeeming part was the server — she was polite and clearly trying her best, but there’s only so much you can do when the food is this bad. Honestly, the issue seems to stem from the management or ownership. Save your money. Burn it. Eat ice cubes. Anything’s better than this.
Shorya A — Google review
First time going to this restaurant and was very excited to try it. Atmosphere was interesting, the women working was very nice as well. They got my order wrong and the man working was very rude and hung up on me twice while on the phone with him. When I went down there to talk to him he pretty much told me to get out and that I was trying to scam him. I was being very polite also so I was very weirded out by this response for a simple issue. After that was resolved, when I got home and tried the food, it was incredibly bad. I got the gulab, chicken masala and butter chicken. The chicken had the same consistency as a hotdog and the flavours were completely off.. my partner was very sick the next day after eating it (I did not eat any more after trying it). Needless to say, spend your money else where.

The meal was so good, my friends and I downed our buffet trays. The mango lassi is the best! It’s my second time here and the service is great as usual. I recommend 💯

If I could bottle the aftermath of this meal and sell it as a chemical weapon, I’d be rich. The food here was so bad it rearranged my internal organs. Within an hour of leaving, not only did my entire group get hit with the kind of stomach upset you only see in medical textbooks, I personally got hospitalized for what the ER doctor called “aggressive acid migration.” My body rejected the meal like it was a cursed artifact. They call it a buffet. I call it a psychological experiment in disappointment. You’re served like four dishes, all of which tasted like they were cooked during the Jurassic era and then left out under a heat lamp powered by sadness. Every time you want more, you have to go ask — like you’re begging for punishment. A “buffet” in the same way a puddle is a “spa.” The one and only bright spot? Our server. She was polite, helpful, and doing her best while the rest of the place collapsed around her like a culinary Titanic. Honestly, she deserves a raise, a hug, and maybe a new job at literally any other establishment. Management though? Wow. It's like they looked at Gordon Ramsay and decided to do exactly the opposite of whatever he would recommend. The real villain here isn’t the food — it’s whoever signed off on it.
Xyz — Google review
Oh, where do I even begin? If you’re looking for a masterclass in how to ruin Indian food, Spicy Grill is the place to be. Our group of seven went in hungry and excited—big mistake. Two of us made the unfortunate choice of ordering their so-called “buffet.” Now, when you hear “buffet,” you imagine a spread of delicious dishes you can actually serve yourself, right? Not here. At Spicy Grill, the “buffet” means you get a regular plate of mediocre food, and if you dare ask for more, the waitress acts like you just insulted her entire family. Speaking of the waitress—every time we ordered something, she looked at us like we had asked her to climb Mount Everest barefoot. Nothing says “welcome” like an eye-roll every time you want to try another dish, right? And the food… oh, the food. Bland, greasy, and somehow still managed to upset everyone’s stomach. Impressive, really—takes talent to make food both tasteless and hazardous. The grand finale? Dessert. If you enjoy being treated like a child begging for extra candy, you’ll love this part. We each got a tiny bowl with one sad piece of dessert—apparently rationed as if sugar was running out worldwide. We politely asked for more, and the waitress’s face screamed, “How dare you?” Overall, Spicy Grill gave us an unforgettable experience… because we’ll never stop warning people not to go there. If you’re craving Indian food, do yourself a favor—eat literally anywhere else.

The Fairmont Winnipeg is a sleek and polished property located in downtown Winnipeg. It offers refined dining, a bar, and an indoor saltwater pool with city views. The hotel is pet-friendly and collaborates with the Winnipeg Humane Society to host events like the Bow Wow Ball and sponsor walks and runs in Assiniboine Park. The century-old Fort Garry Hotel, designated as a National Historic Site of Canada, boasts old-world appeal, high-end amenities, and hospitality.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Fairmont Winnipeg. From arrival to checkout, it was an elevated experience. We booked one night on the Gold Floor for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival to our room, we found not one, but three hand-written cards from the hotel staff congratulating us on our anniversary and thanking us for celebrating it with them. I must have mentioned it when I called to book the room, but honestly I couldn't remember if I had. There was also a piece of cheesecake with Happy Anniversary hand-written in chocolate on the plate. I had never experienced that before! The concierge was great to chat with, the dinner and breakfast served on the Gold Floor was excellent, and every staff member we met were very friendly. Two minor issues which could easily be fixed: the hotel pool was quite cold and the Sauna wouldn't heat up past 40*C. Perhaps because it is summer, the temperatures are intentionally kept cooler? It did nothing to take away from our wonderful experience. Overall, we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others.
Andrew L — Google review
First off, the staff are incredible and are an absolute credit to the Fairmont Winnipeg. Ralph on the front desk was great, as were all of the staff in the lounge on the evening of September 19th, the accommodation staff, and doormen throughout my stay. The room service food was great and delivered quickly. The location is perfect, connected all across downtown Winnipeg via the Skywalk. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, but they are in desperate need of a refresh. The TV in the room was extremely dated and the menu/guide software was slow and imprecise. The desk is not great for getting any actual work done (an oval is not a good shape for a work desk). The internet was super fast when it worked but went down a couple of times before completely giving up on my last night. The blinds and blackout curtains did a great job but, as with the carpets, are starting to look well worn. The bathroom seems partially updated with the sink area looking new, but the mirrors and shower/bath are certainly due an upgrade. The gym and pool area require a major face lift. These are good facilities but are well worn and take away from what are valuable amenities. The humidity in the pool area especially made everything wet and uncomfortable to sit and enjoy. The dry sauna, however, works very well. Overall, my stay was enjoyable, but definitely falls short of other Fairmont properties. While the price is admittedly very good, the gulf in quality is especially highlighted by the fantastic images of said elite-level properties displayed across the public areas of the hotel. I couldn't help feel that I would rather be staying at one of those locations instead.
William C — Google review
I checked in after a long day of travel and was immediately let down by the condition of the room. There was hair left in the shower and on the shaving mirror. Both obvious signs the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned. The room also had a noticeable musty smell, which made it feel damp and unkept. For a Fairmont property, this was surprising and well below the level of cleanliness and care I’ve come to expect. When I called the front desk, I explained the issue and asked if a Fairmont Gold upgrade could be provided as a goodwill gesture. It was a Sunday night and the hotel was clearly not busy, so the request seemed reasonable. Instead, I was offered to move to another standard room and given a $50 restaurant credit. Unfortunately, I was not dining on-site, so the credit went unused. While the staff were polite, the resolution felt transactional rather than focused on guest recovery. A Fairmont stay is supposed to feel effortless and refined. This experience felt more like any mid-range hotel. Cleanliness, air quality, and responsiveness to guest concerns are basic expectations, not luxuries. If it weren’t for the convenient downtown location, I’d likely consider a different property next time. I hope management reviews this feedback seriously, because the Fairmont brand is capable of much better.
James R — Google review
Room was clean and beds were comfortable, but carpets were stained, ceilings and walls had visible cracks and drains in tubs were slow. We were told that the hotel will be undergoing an extensive renovation next year. I'd suggest also putting in hot tub to compliment pool and sauna. My wife has dietary restrictions and lounge and breakfast restaurant went out of their way to ensure her meals respected her diet and were delicious. Once rooms get updated, experience will be 10/10.
Thom G — Google review
My partner and I recently stayed at the Fairmont Winnipeg and, unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. We received no amenities in our room — the bar fridge was empty and not functioning, there was no complimentary water provided, and only one robe available. For a Fairmont property, we were anticipating a higher level of comfort and attention to detail. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed as it did not reflect the quality or experience typically associated with the Fairmont brand.
Melanie G — Google review
This property doesn't meet the Fairmont level of quality and service experience. Booked a king room for our family of three, advertised on the Fairmont website as 'sleeps 3'. Called the property to ensure the rollaway be for our son would be in the room upon arrival and was told that a King Room can't accommodate a rollaway bed because it's a "fire hazard." Further, there is no pullout couch in the room. When asked where the third person (our nine year old son) can sleep, where we were told that he could share our king bed. No solution was provided by the hotel... no alternative room made available, no referral to another property with suitable accommodations, refund request so we could book elsewhere was denied, and no ownership of advertising the room as 'sleeps 3'. If you are coming to Winnipeg as a family, best to consider a more suitable hotel. Staff training in problem solving would also be a benefit to guest experience.
M K — Google review
Fancy but kind of outdated hotel. Very good location, needs a little update but it’s definitely a comfy stay. The AC was making some weird noise I couldn’t figure out what it was but I ultimately decided to leave it off instead of fighting it. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t judge that. Made use of pretty much all conference rooms and they’re all good. The pool at the top is very nice and so is the dry sauna. Gym is small so it might get busy/unconvenient but it’s a nice gym with a great view.
Jacopo B — Google review
This hotel desperately needs a renovation. The bed was comfortable but that’s pretty much it. Rooms are dated and carpets look dirty. Cracks in the walls. Room had such a weird musty smell that I had to request a relocation. Would not recommend staying here until they have renovated.

One of the disgusting pizza I have ever had in my life! Just look at the toppings barely you can see any meat. I should not have been there in the first place as I saw the reviews are bad but still thought to give it try as it was past 11 pm. Pizza sauce taste nothing more than chemical even stored canned pizza sauce taste better. I asked for halal beef as they charge extra for chicken for some weird reason. But there is barely any beef on the pizza. Not sure if why they lower their food quality so low! The girls are barely interested to open their mouth as zero interest in customer service as If they are doing charity to customer service. I am not sure why owner doesn’t take these things seriously after repeated these complaint! One advice for the customer please don’t spend a single penny on this store. It is not even worth of trying.

Swiss Chalet is a Canadian restaurant chain that originated in Toronto, Ontario in 1954. It's known for its four-core menu items: Rotisserie Chicken, slow-roasted for 90 minutes; fresh-cut fries made daily; signature Chalet sauce, and smoky BBQ ribs. While some locations may not measure up to others due to supply chain differences, the food and value are consistently praised. Many patrons enjoy the friendly service and recommend visiting during quieter times like lunch.
Ok. So, having grown up in Ontario, I love Swiss Chalet. And, the Kenaston location is the closest thing to the ones I recall back home. That being said, the Swiss Chalet(s) in Manitoba don’t measure up with the ones that I am used to. It’s not their fault – it’s not a popular restaurant in Manitoba, there’s not a huge franchise supply chain coming through here on a regular basis, etc. No fireplaces when you walk in, no huge glass rotisserie in view either, but that’s ok, I can still go here to satisfy my Swiss Chalet cravings. I know people have different opinions about the chalet sauce but, since I grew up with it, I absolutely love it :)

the service was really slow. which would be understandable it if it was busy but there were about 5 other tables. the decor is nice and plenty of parking outside. however the food wasn't good. and it was hard to get any service. we did have a big table, roughly 8 people but like i said it didn't seem very busy in there. i dont think I'll be back. if you never tried the swiss chalet sauce and want to give it a try go ahead. i didn't really like it though. maybe it's a love it or hate it kind of thing.

Great food and the value is absolute. Whenever I want great comfort food and I'm starving i head to Swiss Chalet. The whole family loves it and we have never been disappointed. The service has always been consistent. My daughter and I just went for Thanksgiving dinner because we were missing two family members this year and it was excellent. We go as a family at least 3 or 4 times a year.

The service was good, and the place, an OK family restaurant. That's about it. I ordered a chicken wings and ribs platter, for 24 dollars. Chicken wings: bland. Better almost everywhere around. Ribs: not tender at all. Tried better ribs in a lot of other places. We ordered a kids menu, the dessert never arrived. We had to leave because my kids were tired. Not coming back

Capital Grill & Bar, with locations at 275 Broadway St and 3116 Roblin Blvd, offers a delightful dining experience. Chef Wayne Martin's menu features delectable starters like airy popcorn shrimp and perfectly cooked West Coast fish. The Roblin location boasts a west-facing patio near Assiniboine Park Zoo, while the Broadway location offers a spacious patio on the bustling street. Both spots provide stunning views of downtown Winnipeg and Union Station or an intimate outdoor experience.
After two weeks on the road, we were staying in downtown Winnipeg on a Saturday evening looking for something a bit different, that would interest us after lots of eating out. I did a Google search, the menu seemed promising, and I called to see if we needed a reservation. From that call all through the end of our meal, the service was terrific. We got useful information on local craft beers, received a great recommendation on the rigatoni with braised short rib (outstanding), and my wife said her Capital Market salad was one of the best she'd ever had. We got there just over an hour before closing, but did not feel rushed. They were nicely busy; if full, I suspect the indoors seating might be a bit loud, but the patio is a nice option this time of year. Try it!

Had a gift certificate gifted to me by a friend and I had never heard of this place prior. So I help off going until I had a reason. I am happy I did. Everything about this place was awesome. It wasn't super busy when we went. It was just after lunch on a Wednesday. Our servers name was Stephanie. She was delightful. We wanted to try the apps like we din most places and they were spectacular. I've attached some photos to see. This is a must visit spot. I will return the favor and buy a gift card for a friend who has never been until everyone's heard of this Jazzy spot.

Capital Bar and Grill is an excellent spot that strikes a perfect balance between casual and classy. From the moment you pull in, the experience feels inviting. To start, the parking lot is well lit and has large spots, which already sets a good tone for the night. Inside, the atmosphere is vibrant with a modern vibe, and the spacious booths make it comfortable whether you’re out for dinner with friends or on a date. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the service felt smooth even though the place was packed. The drink menu was impressive, especially the local beers on tap, a nice touch that gives it a local flair. The food was really good, with a wide range of choices that made it hard to pick just one dish. Everything we ordered came out well-prepared and flavorful, leaning toward fine dining quality but without the stuffy formality. If there was one small downside, it’s that it got a little noisy during the peak dinner rush, but honestly that just shows how popular the place is. The energy in the room made it feel lively rather than overwhelming. Overall, Capital Bar and Grill is a great place to relax, enjoy a fantastic meal, and sip some quality drinks in a fun, upscale atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful little place to grab a drink and bite after a long day. I found the food was scrumptious and arrived in a timely manner. The hot sauce was splendid which wasn't overtly hot but had range of delicious flavor.

The service was friendly but it was the pits, we were forgotten about often... we made reservations since they have a good reputation and downtown had a few events going on this evening, we were looking forward to going. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't busy and waited while the hostess seated other guests. Another party arrived shortly after us, and was attended to as we stood there being ignored while these folks were sat right away. We were sat, given menus and we awhile until a server came to get our drink order and tell us the specials..., we waited again another ~10 minutes for our order to be taken and our drinks to arrive. Meanwhile, tables who arrived after us already received their appetizers... the server did not remember she was told two people would be ordered soup & pizza, she placed a pizza on our table, assuming it was everyone's pizza to share, it wasn't, and it was not the pizza ordered. They asked my friends if they could just keep this pizza and it would be taken off the bill, staff said it would take too long to make the pizza originally ordered. So that pizza stays, we wait 10-15 minutes (plenty of time to make the correct pizza) for the rest of our food while we watched those sat before us start their dessert - they already received their appetizers, dinner and were starting dessert, we at that point were just served a menu item not ordered by anyone. Half of our party ordered soup and pizza, the other half burger+fries. The burger was good and fries were homemade. Soup was mediocre - needed seasoning, pizza was OK 🤷🏻‍♀️ the restaurant wasn't full and three servers were working. Disappointing, we agreed a 6/10, we're looking forward to our next dining experience elsewhere

Greg, Wayne and the Capital Team catered appetizers for our family wedding. We were regulars at Capital Charleswood and love the food and service at the restaurant. The catering team was as excellent. The flavors were so tasty and the team was well organized and very clean in the home where the event was as held. thank you so much , Craig Downs

Roasted Cauliflower Soup - 5/5 - Creamy and great flavor, food start to the meal Salmon with veggies - 4/5 The salmon by itself was alright but the tomato puree was a nice addition to the dish. The sauce really tied everything together. The carrots were also really nice and sweet. Pesto bacon and corn pizza - 3.5/5 Toppings were alright, dough was flat and a bit fluffy. Pesto was good, but overall, this was nothing special. Steak salad - 5/5 Vinagraitte dressing. Steak was cooked perfectly (medium), and the asparagus added a nice roasted flavor to the salad. Sticky toffee pudding (forgot to take a picture) - 5/5 Delicious. The ambience was nice in the restaurant, string lights turned on across the ceiling. The staff was very pleasant and quick to serve us. Great service.

Japanese restaurant
Kyu Grill is a popular food spot known for its tasty grilled-skewer sandwiches, also called heroshima. These gourmet hot dog alternatives are made with Japanese sauces and toppings that explode with flavor in every bite. The restaurant has a stylish ambiance and is highly recommended to try out if you're ever in the area.
Definitely a must try. We ordered Beef teriyaki, Chicken Satay and their Fried Crispy Chicken. All three were delicious. The Fried Crispy Chicken is my favourite among all three. I tried it with just regular mayo and teriyaki but you can substitute it for spicy mayo... I for sure would get the spicy mayo next time. It will add yet another level of deliciousness to the dish. The staff were friendly. We will be back!

We ordered the spicy mayo Hiroshima and added fries. I thought the fries were ok, my friend liked them though. My friend also liked the Hiroshima but I don't know if I preferred the ground chicken skewer. I liked all the toppings and the bread was fantastic. Service was friendly and helpful though curt as it's a fast food stand during lunch.

Always a great food. People kept stopping me to ask what I was eating and where it was from. True story. Kyu grill never lets me down. Highly recommended Today I had the Spicy Chicken Hero and Spicy Mayo Frites

Visited the food truck in Vancouver. An explosion of flavour in every bite. Highly recommended you track down where they are and try it out. I had the crispy chicken hero. You won't be let down.

Great food anf friendly staff. Ideal place for people who are fan of fried food and Japanese food. Service may become slow if there are too many customers
Chris D — Google review
I have ordered the teriyaki chicken and the curry chicken and both dishes have tasted just awesome. The portion is good, the teriyaki is a good flavor. Would come back again and try some of the other dishes that look good

Asian fusion food. I had a pork belly heroshima, great flavour and portion. Nice chunk of pork belly. The meat, the sauce, the slaw on a nicely toasted bun made me craving for more. I would have been ok with 1/2 but it waa so good that I ate it all. I also tried the mac and cheese bite. Deep fried bite size mac and cheese bite cover in combination of sauce (I believe it was eel sauce and mayo) topped with bonito flakes. IMO the combination made it too sweet, too salty and fishy at the same time.

Ordered a lettuce wrap. Very flavourful and delicious. However, very tiny portion for the price.
