Asian restaurant
Restaurant
Bang Bang Byron Bay is a trendy and intimate restaurant with a garden vibe, offering an eclectic menu of Thai fusion dishes and inventive drinks. The menu features classics like pad thai, Bangkok fried rice, and massaman curry, as well as smaller tapas-style dishes for sharing. The restaurant also offers an inventive cocktail menu with Asian-inspired themes. The ambiance is described as a refreshing sanctuary with dim lighting, and the service is praised for being attentive without being overbearing.
We had such a great time at Bang Bang in Byron Bay! The atmosphere is super fun and energetic, with amazing vibes all around. The staff were so lovely and the service was on point the whole night. The food was SO delicious! Everything is designed to be shared. We were honestly surprised at how generous the portions were—everything just kept coming! We’re big eaters and even we couldn’t finish it all. Had to take a doggie bag home, which says a lot. Really great value for money, especially considering how tasty everything was. The wine list is solid, but the cocktails are where it’s at—so many fun and creative options. If you’re visiting Byron and looking for a great place to eat, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. Such a good time! Note: We dined here December 2024

Last night we went to Bang Bang for my friend’s birthday and it was fantastic. Our waiter Douglas made our night so special. He was the best! The food was delicious. We had popcorn chicken, the Roti and prawn toast for entree and it was to die for! Best I’ve ever eaten and really filling. For mains we shared Pad Thai and a chicken curry and they were both so good. I had the Kokomo cocktail which was yummy and my friend had a special cocktail which they bought out with a sparkler for her birthday. We sat in a booth and the ambience was brilliant. Can’t recommend highly enough. We did book months in advance as it’s hard to get in but if you are going to Bryon please check it out.
Katie J — Google review
I had dinner here during my holiday and truly enjoyed the fish. The flavor was fantastic, with a pleasant spiciness that came not only from mild chilies but also from ingredients like pepper, onion, garlic, and shallots. Even with only a small amount of chili, the balance of flavors was excellent. The chef prepared the fish perfectly—crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. Just 30–60 seconds longer and it would have been dry, but this was spot on. However, we did encounter an issue, as we found a very long hair in the sauce, which seemed to be an accidental oversight in the kitchen. Despite this, I still give a high rating because of the chef’s skill in creating such a beautiful dish. I hope the restaurant takes more care in the future, as I would love to return and enjoy the food again without this problem. The service was also outstanding—our waitress provided fine-dining level service, with excellent English, great knowledge, and a genuinely warm attitude.

absolutely delicious food. 😍 our lovely waitress sarah (from portugal 🇵🇹) recommended a few dishes and they were all top notch. we had the sashimi and roti as a starter and pad thai, beef massaman curry and the bbq trout - perfect to share for 3 people. the absolute highlight was the dessert - banana and chocolate spring rolls. would recommend to anyone visiting byron bay 🙃

Absolutely amazing food. We had the sashimi for starter and was blown away. The beef brisket was so tender and fell apart gracefully as soon as the fork touched. The curry had a very aromatic flavour. Highly recommend!

Sonjae looked after us and was warmingly attentive and accomodating to our table. Love his energy. Food was also next level, the most insane meal I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the $$$

Bang Bang Byron Bay brings a mouth watering punch of flavors. My wife and I had the dinner for 2 (small option) and it was almost too much for us. We are 5'1" and 5'6" so keep that in mind. Every plate was just right and outstanding. The king fish sashimi has a nice fresh flavor and reminded me of ceviche. The Korean Popcorn chicken was crunchy and flavorful. The sticky pork belly was soft and sweet. The smashed sesame cucumber was fresh and crispy. The braised beef massaman with Jasmine was remarkable with the chocolate smooth flavor and white rice to add a nice blend. This restaurant is a five star must for any local and any visitor. If you must wait in line please do have a drink elsewhere while you wait, it is worth the wait. 5 star quality service.

11/05/2025 Had a great meal here. Ordered the bug buns to start which were super tasty. For mains we had the beef rib, bbq barramundi and the mixed vegetables. All food was delicious but the beef came out first for the mains and it took a while for the fish to come which was disappointing.

Modern Australian restaurant

Lunch restaurant
Beach Byron Bay is a stylish beachfront cafe and restaurant that offers a modern Australian menu. It is known for its delicious seafood options and provides a memorable dining experience with stunning coastal panoramas across the bay. The open-air terrace above Clarkes Beach makes it one of the best restaurants in Byron Bay for ocean views, perfect for special occasions.
Don't question it, just make the reservation, you won't be disappointed! There maybe multiple restaurants in Byron Bay, but there is NO OTHER as fantastic as Beach. When you see the portion sizes you will not question the price. The dishes are generous in size and flavour and the presentation is stunning. I was spoilt for choice when perusing the menu. A good reason to come back soon! The service is impeccable. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. They invest a lot of consideration and care in ensuring you have a wonderful experience. The mussel dish I chose for my entree was probably one of the best I have had from any restaurant. The combination and flavours are unique and delicious. Local Mulloway was my main course of choice, perfectly cooked and served with a light beurre blanc, crispy pancetta and salmon caviar. Both courses were complimented by a beautiful Gros Nore' Rose from the Bandol region of France. I chose Ruby Chocolate mousse for dessert which was again unique and delicious. The chef uses native raspberries from the local market in Byron Bay to perfectly cut through the sweetness and richness of the ruby chocolate. My husband's Rhubarb Mille Feuille was and I quote 'faultless' There was no sunset that afternoon, but a dark, stormy and menacing sky was our vista, making the ocean look like an aquamarine jewel. It was nothing short of breathtaking. I nosily saw a couple nearby ordering from the 'Happy Hour' menu and I was keen to learn further details from our wonderful server Alan. So that is next on the list, Happy Hour, possibly staying for dinner to enjoy the rest of the menu. God I love this place.

We just had the most amazing lunch at Beach. The food was sublime. Oysters, octopus and fish both raw and cooked. Every bite made better by the amazing view of the bay from our table. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

My family stopped in at Beach while we were traveling through Byron Bay and were welcomed without a reservation. Everything that happened after that was a comedy of errors, but I can say with earnest that this restaurant was a highlight of our trip. Sa was our waitress and was incredibly kind to seat us and allow us to wait with some cocktails for an hour until the kitchen reopened after a private event. While we were there, we had a glitch with our night’s accommodations, and since we were traveling from abroad, we asked to use the restaurant’s phone, and when that had issues, Alan very generously let us use his personal mobile to call our villa. Most importantly, the food was delicious. We had the yellowfin tuna starter and can understand why it is a signature dish. The sirloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the asparagus was also perfect - well cooked and still had the perfect snap to it. Last, the roast potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist inside. Finally, we had an issue with the payment system which resulted in us paying another table’s bill, but Alan flagged us down in the parking lot so we could get it straightened out. Through all of this, Sa was incredibly kind, warm, and assuring, apologizing profusely for our misfortune. We left wishing we were staying longer so we could try the rest of the menu. If we make it back to Byron Bay, Beach will absolutely be at the top of our list. Cannot recommend stopping here enough for a quality meal and warm environment.

Thank you for letting me sit after the long coastal walk to the easternmost tip of Australia and the lighthouse. I enjoyed an affogato with a local liqueur MAC by Brookie's. Recommended by the lovely waitress who was so welcoming. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home to Melbourne

Where do we even begin. Planning a Byron wedding from Melbourne could’ve easily been stressful, but working with Belinda from day one made it an absolute breeze. She was so organised, helpful and just genuinely lovely to deal with. Nothing was ever too hard and she made the whole process feel seamless. Come wedding day, Sara took over and wow, she was incredible. Calm, collected and completely on top of everything. The day ran so smoothly and we honestly didn’t have to lift a finger. Now let’s talk about the food. The food and drinks were honestly deliciously good. From the canapés during cocktail hour right through to the mains, every single bite was a hit. So many of our guests came up to us saying it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and they weren’t wrong. The service staff on the day were amazing too. They were all friendly, professional and so switched on. And the venue itself... WOW. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Photos really don’t do it justice, you simply have to see it to believe it. It’s easily one of the most beautiful spots in Byron. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, the roof was open and we danced the night away under the stars. It was such a dream. We can’t thank the Beach Byron Bay team (especially Belinda and Sara) enough for helping us pull off the best day of our lives. It will always be forever in our core memories. If you’re thinking about getting married in Byron, this place is a no-brainer..!

Beach Café recently hosted our Zepto customer event, Beyond the Break. From the very beginning, Belinda was outstanding—her support, attention to detail, and dedication made the planning process seamless. On the night, the entire team was exceptionally professional, welcoming, and accommodating. And the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted. We couldn’t recommend Beach Café more highly for anyone looking to host an event or popping in for a meal. A heartfelt thank you to Belinda and the whole team for your wonderful hospitality. The Zepto Team - Byron Bay

We couldn’t have had a better wedding experience. From the outset, Belinda was exceptional to deal with and gave us so much practical advice. On the day, Sara handled coordination perfectly and the venue, food, drinks, attention to detail and overall vibe was superb. Couldn’t recommend more highly. It was the perfect wedding.

There we only 8 other people here. We stopped in for a drink and something to eat after doing the lighthouse walk, really disappointed in the attitude, felt like an imposition we purchased a $9 bottle of water as we wanted some cold no glasses/cups offered again given 2 when there were 3 of us. When we tried to clarify the order name so as not to take the wrong one, again rude. Not helpful at all, shame because perfect location

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, No Bones is a vibrant plant-based eatery that champions the idea that ethical food can be incredibly delicious. With a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients, this culinary gem serves up an array of mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes that cater to all palates, including those who typically enjoy meat. The menu features innovative creations like crispy fried "chicken" with kung-pow sauce and oyster-mushroom souvlaki paired with almond skordalia.
We had the best time at No Bones! A friend recommended the restaurant to us, and after reading the reviews, it was an easy decision to go. We're not vegan and we eat meat occasionally, but we're used to plant-based meals, so we weren't surprised by how good everything was (because YES, you can create wonders with vegan food!). The dishes were absolutely delicious, and we really loved the cocktails too. We tried the Margarita, the Paradise Pearl, the Outback Sour and the Heat Wave (the Heat Wave was surprising! 🌶️) We ended up ordering so much food that we couldn't finish it all, but luckily we were able to take the leftovers home. We tried the bao buns during happy hour, the mac 'n' cheese, the crispy chicken, the organic focaccia, and the eggplant parmi. Everything was amazing; it’s hard to choose a favourite! We were too full to try the chocolate tart, which we regret a little... Service was exceptional, Yasmina was truly amazing. It was a bit chilly inside (winter time...), but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic evening.

We had an incredible dining experience at No Bones! We shared a selection of starters and small plates—every single dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was fast, friendly, and super accommodating. We brought our infant along and felt totally welcomed. We’re not vegetarians, but you’d never guess it from how much we enjoyed the food—it’s just that tasty! Easily one of the best spots in Byron Bay. Highly recommend!
Danica P — Google review
Food is pure art here! Every dish is super creative and packed with flavor. Even my hard core meat- lover partner couldn’t believe it was all plant- based. We left totally impressed (and full! 😋). Staff were super friendly and took time to explain the inside of every dish. Only one request… please bring back the croutons in the Caesar salad!
Sofia B — Google review
I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be happier with my discovery! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with flexible seating that lets you choose your perfect spot whether you prefer the comfort of indoor dining or the fresh air of their outdoor area. Their menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering something for every taste. I decided to be adventurous and ordered two different main courses, and I'm so glad I did because both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were spot on and the quality was exceptional. What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service. The team was genuinely caring and made sure my dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Their attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. Being located in the town center makes this place incredibly convenient and accessible.
Shreshtha J — Google review
The most amazing vegetarian restaurant! The food was divine, the atmosphere great, the service impeccable! Will definitely return!!
Braydon H — Google review
Visited for dinner with my partner, we chose the gluten free tasting menu. The server asked about allergies and food restrictions before we ordered. The food is absolutely sensational. Neither of us have any dietary requirements, this is the second time we've eaten here. Brilliant flavours, thoughtful presentation and intentional combinations of textures. The Caeser salad was unexciting, the Beetroot ravioli were delicious. The chocolate tart was out of this world and who would know that wasn't actually fresh calamari? The drinks list is varied, with many beers, wines, cocktails, mocktails and spirits to choose from. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Rebecca W — Google review
We were there a couple of years ago and our re-visit certainly didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food full of flavours and well presented. If you enjoy vegetarian food I would highly recommend it.
Richard T — Google review
I had high hopes, but was severely disappointed. Service was slow, unfriendly, and drab. Food was uninspiring. I ordered the carbonara. Was lukewarm. Found a hair in my food & after confronting staff had to wait over 15 minutes for another plate, at which point I just wanted to pay my bill and leave. I’m sad to say that I don’t recommend this restaurant. There are many cheaper, much more inviting vegan restaurants to visit in Byron Bay.

Tokyo Doll is a vibrant and captivating restaurant located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, with neon lights adding to the overall ambiance. The menu features incredibly fresh and delicious Asian cuisine, including must-try Vietnamese oysters and maki rolls. Diners rave about the fried chicken, salmon, and tuna tacos as well.
A great sophisticated restaurant and bar at the Paris end of Jonson street. Byron bay has plenty of grungy eateries but not many with an ambience of casual sophistication which it what this place has in spades. The wine list was eclectic and the food as tasty as it was different. The service was friendly and our waiter paired the wine perfectly with the food. Really recommend this one.

Honestly, this was one of the best Japanese dining experiences I’ve had in Australia💜 The aging and flavor of the sashimi were just perfect — incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared😋 I also loved the vibe — the staff were relaxed and interacted casually with customers, which made the experience even better😍 If I have time, I’ll definitely visit again😉 Highly recommended💚

We just spent 5 nights in Byron and ended up coming back to this restaurant every single night because it was that good. The Tokyo Doll Fried chicken is hands down the best food I’ve ever had. My partner worked his way through the menu and loved every dish. The food and drinks were amazing, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. What really makes this place stand out is the staff, every night we were welcomed with such warmth and looked after so well it made dining here feel special each time. By far our favourite restaurant ever!

Absolutely amazing place. Our favourite restaurant when visiting Byron Bay. Chilled but cool atmosphere. Not pretentious in ambience and food quality is to die for. We were so impressed with this place. Kingfish sashimi was stunning as was the sechuyan squid and dumplings. Great cocktails as well. Wonderful friendly service.

I am a local fan! Tokyo Doll is not only the best Japanese restaurant in Byron Bay. It’s one of my top-3 among all eateries in NSW Northern Rivers region. Exquisite food, outstanding service (what I consider the most important factor), cool ambience. The staff always strive to accommodate walk-ins. The price is not in the “budget” bracket, but it is neither in the highest tags we see in the area. There, you get more than what you pay for.

Love the Smoking Camel! Scrumptious food created by amazing chefs and delivered with a smile by friendly and warm staff. Highly recommend anything that includes lamb. The staff go out of the way to cater to your individual preferences or needs. If you have any allergies or food intolerances, give them generous notice and they will do what they can to cater to your needs. I do wish they would bring back the BBQ prawns as they were the best I've ever eaten. Otherwise, the extensive and varied menu has something to offer anyone's tastebuds. The ambience is very cool enhanced by the fabulous disco vibe. It's a fun laid-back atmosphere that is perfect for a date night, group booking or any special occasion. Highly recommend!

We loved the food at The Smoking Camel. The steak tartare was absolutely amazing and rich in flavor. The smashed falafel was also sensational. Lamb skewers cooked perfect and the green sauce was delicious. Overall, a taste sensational experience that we’d gladly return for.

Such a great experience - the decor is great, the vibe is chill, the drinks are pretty and the food is defs worth coming back for. We ordered the banquet, and also booked for happy hour. The Turkish Delight cocktail was delicious. The food was excellent - O.M.G. those prawns... Each dish was tasty & flavourful, with each course spaced out nicely. If anything, the banquet was too much food. We weren't rushed to finish at all. The service was friendly but professional and was there when we needed it, not when we didn't. Sooo many dishes I want to come back for and more to try as well.

Edit: one of the owners, the lad who responded below, reached out and the concern and customer service after was excellent. They clearly care and were concerned about my experience. I feel perhaps they had a bad day, as we all do from time to time. I'll give it another go. This burger cost me $22 Quite possibly the driest I've ever had. Meant to have chipotle aioli, however you can see, or not see, how much they put on. Meat patties were like hockey pucks. Over cooked and definitely not made here. Service was average. I think they have a new lad on though. Didn't get asked if we wanted drinks so I sorted that out at the front, then at the bar, only to be told it's table service... I'm not sure what was going on there. The kids burgers, for $12 were the same. Dry and awful. Neither kid wanted to finish theirs. The kids said the chips were good. I don't review chips as it's like reviewing McCain frozen fries. In saying that, I feel like I've just reviewed a frozen meat patty Definitely will not be returning $95 for 1 adult and two kids

Unfortunately we thought the food was pretty average! Classic beef burger tasted very cheap, something you’d buy at a fairground. Halloumi burger was better, but wasn’t full of flavour. Burger buns were average. At least the chips were good! Spent $50+ and was unsatisfied. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is great.

Ordered the Nashville burger that would not stay in the bun. The maple wings were in a watery sauce. Kids meal. Wow, $13 for a small burger no fries. Add fries and comes to $19. Cold beer was the winner here. Must add - service was good.

Second time coming here was just as happy as the first time. Overall awesome experience with great drinks and sides. Burgers are huge and crafted really well. If you are into burgers you need to experience this for yourself.

Ember Byron Bay is a must-visit for those craving smoky, chargrilled steaks, fresh seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Despite its location in the Woolworths complex, this restaurant offers impeccable table service and an excellent wine list to complement its delectable menu. The star of the show is the Spanish Josper charcoal grill that infuses every dish with rich smoky flavors.
We came in for a late lunch today and had such a wonderful experience! The staff were absolutely lovely — warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was fantastic, full of flavour and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about quality and service. Highly recommend Ember Byron Bay if you’re after a relaxed spot with great vibes and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was really good. Two things that we did notice could be improved: 1- when you do table booking their ask if it’s for an special occasion. In this case was my partners birthday. I was expecting a dessert or something for her. 2- closing time is 23:00 at Friday. At 22pm they starting tidying up and turned off the heating and everything. We felt that we had to leave even though it was not even 22:30. It felt colder inside the restaurant than outside. Did they turn on the AC to make us leave (?) As expensive this restaurant is you would expect more of a quality service. This is the second time we go there but I don’t think we will come back.

The food was absolutely amazing. The service was top-notch, everyone was lovely, friendly, nice vibe and wine pairing! My partner couldn’t stop talking on how good the cocktails were

Amazing meal and service here on our weekend wedding anniversary getaway in Byron. Started with cocktails and oysters and then we shared two different steaks. My favourite was the Wagyu Rump 320g 6+ MBS / 560 days grain fed Shimo. We added some sides of Truffle shallot potato gratin & seasonal greens. Wine was great too!

Legitimately one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. If you’re ever in Byron Bay you must come and try this restaurant. Service was absolutely amazing.. Stuart literally went above and beyond to make our anniversary so so special. We felt so spoilt. I don’t usually review places but I honestly can’t recommend Ember enough! We eat a lot of steak... And their Ember Wagyu 8+ scotch fillet is genuinely the best steak we’ve EVER had.

I went to Ember for a my partners birthday dinner tonight and wow, the food was absolutely amazing, our sever Alex was polite, humorous, attentive and very good at his job. We had an amazing time and I am so very glad I picked to dine here for this special occasion. Thank you Alex and the ladies at Ember!!

My partner and I spent the weekend in Byron Bay and stumbled upon Ember for dinner — and wow, what a find! The photos online were stunning, but the real-life experience was even better. From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine warmth and hospitality. We didn’t have a booking, yet the lovely gentleman at the front worked his magic to secure us a cosy table for two. The atmosphere was electric yet relaxed — the kind of vibe that makes you want to settle in for the night. Soft lighting, beautiful décor, and the gentle hum of happy diners set the perfect scene. And then came the food… absolutely flawless. Every bite was bursting with flavour, clearly crafted with care and quality ingredients. Worth every single dollar and then some. What really made the night was how welcome we felt. Every member of the team seemed to truly enjoy what they do, and it shows. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Ember isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience we’ll be coming back for every holiday in Byron. My partner proposed to me before hand so the night was purely wonderful.
Donna B — Google review
We love food and know how to cook. We must say for the price they charge, the food is underwhelming. We had high expectations. The octopus was undercooked and was chewy like rubber. The clove on this dish was off and the flavor was confusing. The cheese pastabake was not cheesy and rather bland. This was a comment from my 8 years old daughter. The arancini ball was nothing special. They did nothing extraordinary than a packet arancini ball you can buy from supermarket. The dipping sauce for the chips was runny and watery. It taste bad. Perhaps they’re trying to cut cost. The crackling pork was burnt, dry and overcooked it tasted bitter (see picture). You can tell this has been cooked multiple times. And for the size they served it was overpriced. We won’t be back.

Moonlight Japanese is a trendy hibachi grill and wine bar located in Byron Bay. The restaurant features a stylish interior with a crescent-shaped neon moon at the bar, offering an intimate dining experience. Guests can enjoy a variety of delectable dishes such as oysters with tozasu jelly, watermelon sashimi, beef tataki, crab rolls, and caramelized miso eggplant.
My husband and I visited Moonlight in December 2024 and absolutely loved it. It’s a super cool, contemporary Japanese hibachi grill and wine bar with a real focus on sharing plates—which worked perfectly for us because we wanted to try everything! Every dish we had was super fresh, beautifully balanced, and incredibly moreish. The drinks menu is also fantastic, with some great sake and wine options that paired so well with the food. The ambiance is moody and stylish without feeling overdone, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and really on point the whole night. It’s definitely a popular spot, so I’d highly recommend booking ahead if you're planning to go. Such a great night out—we’ll definitely be back!

Had the most fabulous dining experience at Moonlight yesterday! We did the omakase and every dish that came out was a delight - special mention to the steak and onion rings, watermelon sashimi and basque cheesecake but tbh we loved EVERYTHING!! Cocktails were also amazing. The best part however were the awesome staff, we were sat at the bar (BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE) and felt like we were hanging out with friends while they fed and looked after us 😂💖 thank you to all the gems at Moonlight for making our anniversary dinner so special. We can't wait to come back!

What an incredible new addition to Byron! We dined at Moonlight on our most recent trip and it didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing - with the stand outs being the prawns, scallops and cheesecake. The service was also wonderful, especially the bar staff who made great recommendations and made sure our drinks were perfect. Highly recommend!

Seriously. I think this might be the best place I have ever eaten. Food? Perfect and delicious! Service? Fantastic! Vibes? OFF THE CHARTS!!! My husband and I were drooling over EVERYTHING! If you do go I would 100% recommend you get the Beef Tataki (the orange dish in the photos). I can't even describe with words how yummy and mouth watering it was. My husband and I were smiling and getting giddy with every bite! Thank you for the wonderful food xx

A Taste of Italy in Australia! 🇮🇹🇦🇺 Basiloco is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight to a traditional Italian trattoria. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do – you can feel the love in every detail. And the pizza? Simply outstanding! Authentic, wood-fired, with that perfect thin and crispy base, fresh ingredients, and rich flavors that bring back memories of Italy. It’s hard to believe you’re in Australia when you’re enjoying food this good. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Basiloco is a must-visit. Grazie mille to the team – we’ll definitely be back! 🍕❤️

Loved this place. Alessio and the team were great hosts and the food was by far the best we’ve experienced in Byron Bay. The menu is well thought out and if you cannot decide just take their recommendation. For diners that are into their wines, the list is outstanding. Highlights were the crudo starters, the carpaccio and the pastas we shared. Pasta is made in house by the way. Thank you team Basiloco and thank you to Marco for the recommendation.

Amazing pizza!!! For the backpackers who miss Vietnam’s Pizza 4P’s, this brings you right back! Team seems really close too which makes the experience even better.
Tristan B — Google review
If you’re planning to visit, definitely make a booking—but don’t expect it to save you from a lengthy wait. When we arrived, the place was understandably busy, but there were four clearly vacant tables in view. Despite this, we were asked to stand to the side while those with reservations were seated (fair enough, we could have booked). However, it took 30 minutes to seat those customers, and after 45 minutes, we were finally seated—at a table that had been empty and just a meter away from us the entire time. Halfway through our wait for food, it became apparent that regular customers receive noticeably better treatment, with staff being warm and friendly toward them. Unfortunately, everyone else seems to be treated as second-class. We ordered a couple pizza’s which were nice and doughy which I personally like. Overall average, if front of house service improved this place would definitely be five stars.
Alexander S — Google review
The food here is sensational! Everything is freshly made - the sauces, the pasta and the pizzas. I could not fault the quality. The only thing I would suggest is adding another person to the roster. Our poor waitress (who did a fantastic job!) was run ragged. It was a great night and thanks for having us. As a local we will see you again for sure!

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, Yulli's Byron Bay is a delightful haven for those seeking a relaxed dining experience. This charming spot offers an enticing blend of contemporary Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, all while focusing on plant-based dishes. With a menu that boasts vibrant flavors and creative options, diners can indulge in everything from ginger shiitake mushroom gyoza to turmeric cauliflower pad thai. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring sidewalk dining that enhances the laid-back vibe of this coastal town.
We spent a pleasant evening at Yulli's for dinner on a Saturday night. We had the $48 pp banquet menu which was good value. Great presentation, tasty dishes and excellent service. We had the paired drinks which included a cocktail, two wines and a sake, the standout of the four drinks being the sake. It's great to see that in these times, there is still quality food to be had at a good price.

I have been waiting an age to go here. It was so worth the wait, the food was amazing. Every dish absolutely delicious. The food ten star, the atmosphere was 3 only because the secret has not got out and there were not a lot of people dining. It was lunch on Saturday of the long weekend. What a hidden secret in Byron Bay. Can’t wait to go back to try different dishes.
Deb R — Google review
We ordered the Banquet Menu, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite suit my personal taste. I truly appreciate the restaurant’s fully vegan concept, which is commendable. However, I found many of the dishes to be overly sweet and heavily fried. My friend is a big fan and recommended the place based on her positive experiences. Given the many great reviews, it clearly resonates with a lot of people, it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

This is a lovely vegan restaurant hidden away in delightful Byron Bay. The banquet came in 5 courses of wee fancies that were tasty and quirky. The non alcoholic warm cider is die for.. . Great to have a fab vegan restaurant. Ppl need to use them, experience them and patronise regularly. Cheers team.. 🍻 👏

Couldn’t recommend enough!! We had the banquet for $45 each and it was a bargain for the amount of food we got. Every dish was delicious, and we had some leftover pad Thai to take home. A special mention has to go to the two desserts at the end. We were so full but nothing could have stopped us from demolishing them. Already planning to go back with family in the future!
Lucy B — Google review
An absolute gem in Byron Bay. Yulli’s delivers a fully vegan banquet experience that feels more like a global culinary journey than just a meal. Each course showcases techniques and flavours drawn not only from across Asia, but from all around the world – masterfully blended into a cohesive and elevated tasting menu. Coming from Hong Kong, I’ve grown up surrounded by complex and bold Asian flavours – so to find a restaurant in Australia that captures and reimagines those tastes with such skill honestly blew me away. My tastebuds were thrilled. The second course was a true standout: Sesame-crumbed shiitake mushrooms. The layers of flavour and texture were perfectly orchestrated – crunchy, savoury, bright, and deeply satisfying. And that final bite of pickled cucumber? An absolute stroke of brilliance – it tied everything together with a refreshing, zesty lift. (I sincerely hope this dish becomes a permanent fixture on the menu – it deserves to be.) The Korean fried broccolini was another highlight – bold, sticky, and tangy in the best possible way. It’s clear that this is not just about fusion for novelty’s sake, but a genuine, thoughtful celebration of culinary traditions, brought together with creativity and flair. If vegan food tasted like this every day, I’d go plant-based in a heartbeat. ♥️

Absolutely delicious food. We had the banquet (one with matching drinks) and it was all very tasty. Great way to try out a lot of the menu. We ordered a couple more things too just because it all sounded amazing (and was). Will definitely come back to try more of the menu when next down that way. Pet friendly which was great, and most importantly, 100% vegan, which is why we chose it.

Pub
The Beach Hotel in Byron Bay is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Situated across the road from Main Beach, it offers a prime location to enjoy cold drinks and delicious food in its beer garden with bay views. Owned by John Strop Cornell, this iconic Aussie watering hole serves up classic pub fare as well as more exotic dishes like poke bowls and harissa roasted cauliflower. On Sunday afternoons, visitors can enjoy live music and a roast dinner.
I came here on my first night, and it was the only lively bar/restaurant by the beach. It wasn’t peak season, so the area was fairly quiet. There was live music, and they were playing country — our favourite — so we absolutely loved it.
Kira — Google review
I highly recommend avoiding the calamari, you can’t even taste calamari. It’s just extremely thin batter deep-fried. The beer selection in the staff are extremely friendly and I do recommend visiting, the schnitzel is nice although it’s very high price, understandable though for his location. It’s right along the beach and a fantastic spot for groups to hang out for several hours for lunch, with Entertainment being played at night time. Although the food was bad, I would definitely come back

Great location and atmosphere. Menu was a little lacking when it came to share options, but the food we had was good. Staff were friendly, albeit a little forgetful, but still lovely. Overall we had a nice casual lunch here.

Great location and venue and they seem to always have a band on or setting up. The staff are super friendly, including the security. They don't take bookings, walk ins only. Food.... We ordered entres and mains, the entres came out after the main meals so it seemed like a waste of money. The flat bread entre was ok, I feel like it could be plated better to avoid soggy bread and may look more appealing. They have a yum gluten free pizza base option and they can cook a steak well. The burger was good, chips were super salty but I hid that with dipping into the yummy mushroom sauce. I guess, if I was to go back again, I would order the entres and do a separate order for mains. We paid $170 for 4 mains and 2 entres.

One of the young ladie staff was rude, not a friendly type at all when asked about the food I received but other than that was nice. Zattar flat bread with three dips and I got this and only two dips. Bread was nice but not what I expected

Cool place in Byron, right next to the beach and full of people always. I went there for the pokies which are surprisingly very small. The food was delicious tried their Za something Bread which was absolutely smashingly delicious. I’ve never seen it elsewhere. Good place to catch up with mates and family. They got live music and big screen in sports bar.

The place is beautiful with a sea view, plenty of tables and seating areas. It opens at 11 a.m. and on weekends it stays open until midnight. The best part is the vibe. The only odd thing is that you have to order at the counter with your table number. I ordered the chicken parmi—it wasn’t as tasty as I expected, a bit bland and lacking in salt. I’d rate it 7 out of 10. The price was also quite high.

Had a very ave meal here. Squid to start, over cooked, crunchy and tough. $30 for a burger with Bacon. It was dry and thin bit of meat. Bacon leathery and tough. One of the worst burgers I've had in a long time. Wife had a bloody Mary, had to take it back as it was brown with Worcestershire sauce and she couldn't drink it. It was swapped for a G&T, tonic was flat. Chips were nice and had a nice chardy. We were in the main bar. Should have gone to the shack, food looked better over there...!!

Nestled in Bay Lane, just behind the Beach Hotel, The Cyprus Tree is a long-standing culinary gem in Byron Bay. This classic restaurant offers a Mediterranean journey with its delectable specialties like moussaka, klefthico, and octopus. The diverse seafood menu is a standout feature, and the two-person mezzare platters provide an excellent overview of their offerings. Cannot recommend this place enough. Staff were very nice and friendly. Very knowledgeable of the dishes and talkative. Food itself was very tasty and came out quick. The pitta and dips were bursting with flavour and just as we finished the mains came out promptly. The Halloumi stack was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out very hot. Partner said it was just like being in Greece and offended the staff when she said she didn’t like Feta cheese haha.

Don't let the photos fool you the amount of food we got for what we paid was minimal but if youre willing to pay upwards of $160 for a minimal amount that's fine. Besides the small portions the taste was good. The best thing was the espresso martini tbh. Outstanding from Start to Finish This was hands down the most informative brewery tour I’ve ever experienced—and the generous beer tastings were a fantastic bonus. Our French host was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and eager to share insights. In fact, every staff member we encountered was exceptional—genuinely friendly and full of personality. The beer itself? Absolutely top-tier, with a diverse range to suit every palate. Great venue…for beer drinkers. $25 paddle with 5 beers good value. About a $15 Uber drive out of Byron. But Not a single wine option for those accompanying the beer drinkers. (Only non beer alcoholic option was ginger beer). Would have spent more time here-and eaten lunch here-if there had been wine as an option. Seems an odd choice not to cater to everyone, lost $ from us.

Pixie Food & Wine is a new Italian eatery in Byron Bay, created by renowned restaurateurs James Sutherland and Kim Stephen. It offers a blend of coastal Italian cuisine with a modern twist, combining the laid-back vibe of Byron Bay with the sophistication of city dining. The restaurant aims to fill the gap for a venue that embraces beach culture while maintaining an urban level of refinement.
We had a fabulous experience at Pixie! We had seen many people raving about this spot on Tiktok so thought we would give it a try. Very friendly staff, attentive to water refills and clearing the table. We had: Focaccia - I really enjoyed the balsamic vinegar Mozzarella di Bufala - this was delicious! Would definitely recommend ordering this. Casarecce, Vodka Sauce - vodka pasta is hard to get wrong but this one was very nice and we were surprised how much we enjoyed such a simple dish. Paccheri, Wagyu Bolognese - lovely flavours, the meat was high quality, no fatty or gristley bits. Fries, Rosemary Salt - well seasoned and the aoli was not too garlicky, nicely flavoured. We finished with the tiramisu - we have tiramisu everywhere we go when it’s on the menu and this one was up there with one of the best we have had. All our food came out in great time. Overall we had a fabulous experience and will definitely be back.

12/05/2025: Food: Fritto misto was an absolute waste of time and rip off. Do not order. Mezze maniche with pork was lacking in pork and tasted like the cheap Leggos Alfredo ready to heat pasta that you buy from the supermarket. Vegan eggplant was tasty but too much crumb. Broccolini came about 10 mins after the mains despite us asking for it. Seems it was forgotten. Tiramisu was very nice. Atmosphere: Very cold inside with a cool breeze, so it's not overly pleasant. Service: Greeting at beginning was friendly but it went downhill pretty quickly. Young Italian waiter from Verona lacked interest in patrons and I had to ask so many times for water refill which he clearly didn't want to do as they wanted us to buy alcohol which I didn't feel like. Hard to get the attention of staff and service of main was very slow and to forget the broccolini is unforgivable. This place is completely overrated. This was our last night in Byron Bay and it was a real disappointment 😞.

One of the best dining experiences we had in Byron. Food was incredible, staff were helpful and attentive & the wine list has some great offerings. Inside looked pretty busy so we sat outside & had the front all to ourselves which was nice. I’m pregnant and don’t usually bother with mocktails but the watermelon with coconut cream was incredible and scratched the cocktail itch. We shared the scallops & focaccia, my partner had oysters then for mains we had the crab pasta & pork cotoletta special. We will definitely be returning next time we’re up & recommending to friends visiting Byron Bay!

A bit disappointed. I am not so sure if I am Asian, the manager (the one who wearing white suit) doesnt feel like want to serve me but others. I would say the pasta is very good, while other food is overrated. No one to serve for water when your glass is empty, as well as your wine glass too. Anyway.... I feel its a so so resturant, not that high rate as google. Scallop: 6/10 taste good. But its not hot enough. Pasta: 9/10 very tasty. The best cuisine of tonight Slow cook beef: 7/10 Good. But not stunning. Thanks

A fabulous meal and great drinks. Every dish had something about it that gave it a special edge. Combined with sincere and attentive service, would definitely recommend.

The staff and service at Pixie are always welcoming and friendly; we have been to this Byron restaurant three times prior to last night as we like to support local, however every time we go we leave slightly disappointed. My husband ordered the slow cooked beef rib which tasted wonderful but it was a very small serving. This is the one thing we have noticed each time we eat there. For an Italian restaurant the meals are very small and as a result overpriced. So there wasn’t that satiation that you receive when you eat Italian. The acoustics really need to be improved inside. We had a table of four and we couldn’t hear conversations unless we leaned close to the person who was speaking. My steak was lovely….again, over $50 for just a steak on the plate and nothing else other than a dressing. So I ordered the cos salad which was lovely. We really didn’t feel we received value for money. The staff are so lovely though and the decor is warm and inviting. If meals were more in keeping with Italian traditions of generous servings then we would definitely return. Thank you.

Pixie Italian is an absolute gem for dining. The food was beyond anything I’ve ever had in my life, especially considering I’ve lived here my whole life. It’s a 10/10, and I’ll definitely be returning often.

Hutong Harry's is a delightful fusion of traditional Chinese cuisine and contemporary Australian flair, creating an exciting dining experience that’s perfect for sharing. The menu features a variety of bold dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, including favorites like Mongolian beef, crispy duck pancakes, Kung Pao chicken, and handmade dim sum. This vibrant eatery not only offers innovative cocktails but also boasts an inviting atmosphere that makes it ideal for unwinding after a long day.
Hutong Harry’s is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in we were blown away by the incredible atmosphere. It is vibrant, welcoming and the perfect place to unwind. The food is absolutely next level. Every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented and left us wanting more. The drinks were just as impressive with a fantastic selection that perfectly complemented the meal. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the service. Nikita was an absolute delight. She was attentive, friendly and an absolute credit to the restaurant. She went above and beyond to make our night special and we honestly can’t praise her enough. If I could give more than five stars I definitely would. Hutong Harry’s has set the bar sky high and we will be back for sure.

Next-level tasty fish 🤯 — fresh like a Cantonese dish! Scallops were amazing too, and they even had a heater 😍 such thoughtful detail! Btw The apple pie dessert has a bit special taste, feels like eating Chinese medicine 🤣 be careful
Cassie C — Google review
Initially the main selling point of this place was that it had a table when bang bang didn’t - HOWEVER it was really quite good! Not a huge menu, but everything was nice and the place has a nice ambience. It’s like a Chinese version of the bang bang fit out, but it’s a bit smaller and more intimate. The best dish of the night was the pork and ginger spring rolls - exceptional. But the duck pancakes were also particularly silky which my mouth appreciated. Mongolian beef a little unexciting - but that is probably because Mongolian beef is just not very exciting. Pricing - not cheap, but not extortionate. They were a little under-staffed, but who isn’t these days. Would return.

Stepping into @hutongharrys felt like wandering into a hidden back alley in Shanghai – moody lighting, funky house beats, and an aesthetic dripping with espionage intrigue. The bar whispered “secret agent” and every dish spoke volumes. ✨ The Feast: 🥢Steamed Scallops: A delicate balance of tender sweetness, bright lime, and a gentle chili kick. 🥢Shiitake & Water Chestnut Dumplings: Earthy, crunchy perfection floating in a ginger-kissed broth. 🥢Prawn & Ginger Dumplings: Juicy, fragrant parcels served with a golden broth that lingered long after the last sip. 🥢Crab Fried Rice: Smoky XO sauce, sweet crab, and crispy crumbs in every luxurious bite. 🥢Stir-Fried Mongolian Beef: Tender beef, smoky capsicum, and a vibrant zing of chili and ginger. Every dish was a thoughtful blend of texture, flavor, and artistry – a sensory journey in the heart of Byron. Bring friends, share everything, and taste it all. 📍 Dining here is more than a meal; it’s an experience #ByronBayEats #FoodieParadise #HutongHarrys #DumplingDreams

Delicious dishes with Chinese origin. They do feel adapted to match the western taste and it is wonderfully done so. 👍🏻 I do recommend the crab fried rice as well as the noodles for the main dish, they complement each other perfectly. The Service is really professional and nice as they immediately ask for any dietary restrictions and really consider and respect those when choosing dishes. Thats very attentive
MB M — Google review
We ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Stir-Fried Mongolian Beef, Steamed Rice, and Special Fried Rice. The portions were very small, and both main dishes had exactly the same vegetables, only the color of the capsicum was different. For the price, I expected more variety and refinement. The sauce in both dishes tasted quite basic and not homemade. The Mongolian beef was tough, and the chicken dish barely had any meat. In the end, I didn’t even have a big appetite and still, only the simple $6.50 rice managed to fill me up. I won’t be coming back. Honestly, I don’t understand all the 5-star reviews. Please be fair, people rely on honest feedback.

We always eat here when in Byron. Superb food and excellent service. The dumplings were divine and the crab fried rice was heavenly. Best to book ahead if you can.

The food was amazing. Pork and ginger springrolls and Crab fried rice was our choice and could not have wished more delicious food. Wish we lived in Byron just to continue to go to this restaurant. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Recommend this place very highly. Only reason for 4 stars on atmosphere was for the music, not our type of music at all, but would still go back again and again.

Located on Jonson Street in Byron Bay, Rails Kitchen has been a beloved establishment for over 40 years. It is renowned for its free live music and vibrant atmosphere, attracting both local and touring bands from various genres such as roots, reggae, blues, funk, folk, and rock. The venue's sun-drenched beer garden offers an ideal setting to unwind and savor classic pub fare while enjoying a summer afternoon.
Went to see Soul'D band and decided to have dinner as well. Food really good, wasn't sure as it's a rough and ready casual fun vibe there. Five stars as one of our friends got up for a dance and staff didn't realise and took her only just started dinner. They had no problems replacing it. Would definitely go back for just the food.

Landed on the Bus station and made this my first stop. The staff were really friendly and tried the calamari. The chef was very nice. After a long journey perfect place to drop in. They have restrooms and beer. Nothing more needs to be said. Pretty much everything is walking dostance from here as well. Large and spacious outdoor area for relaxing. Also has toilets. To get in you may have to go around a winding path from the station. Wheelchair people can definetly access as well as long as you make it to the front. Not sure about disabled toilets though.

Gus was great. The food was very ordinary, very. I think cook wasn't happy. The fish is just small bit and overcooked. The bar staff are friendly and happy except one girl, with long pony tails, who said she was so tired she wanted to leave. I would do permanently. The new USA guy was a good bartender, remembering what you drink and was happy.

Gave us a dead buzzer and had us wait for over an hour for our food before telling us it had been sitting on the counter for half an hour… after asking them to make new garlic bread Because it was freezing cold one the chef was really annoyed about and and put the same bread I gave him back in the oven the. Forget about it for 30 minutes and served me burnt garlic bread after an hour and a half 🤣🤣 head chef with the beard seems like a legend but needs to get on top of the other rude chefs which no idea what they’re doing

Latin American restaurant
Roca Byron Bay is a lively Latin fusion restaurant that promises an exciting culinary adventure from breakfast to late-night cocktails. Situated at 14 Lawson Street, this vibrant eatery showcases the talents of renowned Peruvian chef Diego Aguirre Vallenas, who draws inspiration from his diverse experiences across South America, Asia, and the Middle East. With its innovative take on Latin American flavors, Roca offers guests a unique dining experience that celebrates bold tastes and creative dishes in a welcoming atmosphere.
We heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a real magical vibe to it. The service is 10/10. Such friendly and helpful staff. I love hearing about the cultural background of the dishes we were eating. Lastly, the food. Everything was so well-balanced and tasty. The empanadas, tuna ceviche and corn were our favourites, and of course the desserts. Definitely recommend!

We saw this place during the day while walking and thought it looked so cute, it totally reminded us of Bali vibes! Later that night, after dinner, we were walking with our fur babies and saw it was still open around 8/9pm, so we decided to stop for a drink just to check it out. And wow, we got so impressed with the service! The staff were all super friendly and welcoming, specifically with our dogs 💕 The service was so good that we decided to order some entrées, and we loved them! The tuna and the fried avocado were both delicious and full of flavour. The place itself is beautiful, comfy and has such a good energy. We’ll definitely be back for a proper dinner next time. Thanks again to all the lovely staff, we really loved it!

What a fantastic restaurant! The service is absolutely spectacular, and the food is, without a doubt, the best Latin cuisine I have tasted in Australia so far. The menu is incredibly comprehensive, beautifully capturing the best flavors from across Latin America. I highly recommend the ceviches—they are exceptional! And for dessert, the Cacao Amazónico is an absolute must-try. A truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

If I could give more stars, I would! First of all, the atmosphere is incredible, the architecture is stunning, and the attention to detail is amazing! The stone pillar is impressive, and the color choices are just perfect. Food: We ordered the fried cassava, ceviches, empanadas, and lobster — everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Even the corn that came as a side dish was outstanding! Drinks: The Caipifrut was delicious, and all the cocktails we tried were not only beautiful but also very tasty. The service didn’t disappoint either. All the staff were extremely attentive and charismatic. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back. A truly wonderful experience!

Kicked off the morning at Roca Byron Bay - where Latin vibes meet brekky classics First scene: Coffee cheers all round - because no story starts without coffee. Swipe to the Acai Bowl - fruity, fresh, insta-pretty. Eggs Your Way - classic, simple, done right. • Señor Reedo's Eggs Benny - the show-stopper, rich, zesty, totally addictive. From the staff to the décor, the Latino setting made it feel like a mini getaway overseas. Awesome breakfast.

I'm so excited! 🥰🥹 Without a doubt, the best Latin restaurant I've been to since arriving in Australia. A fusion of the best of Latin cuisine, great cocktails, everything we ate was delicious! 😍😍😍 10000/10

Roca Byron Bay is such a gorgeous venue — definitely one of those places that feels special for a birthday or celebratory dinner. The food was a mix: the Lomo Saltado was very savoury and flavourful, but leaned a little too salty and didn’t quite feel like a $42 dish. The Colombian Chicharron was outstanding — crispy, well-seasoned, and beautifully paired with their unique plantain chips. Great value and something I’d definitely order again. Overall, the setting and vibe make it worth a visit. The FOH was very kind and detailed 👍 and, dog-friendly which made it a great place too!

I had an amazing experience here! The Tortilla Andina was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee is easily the best in town, rich and smooth, and the latte art was a nice touch. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet meal or coffee break. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the vibe!
