Bayleaf Cafe is a popular spot known for its vibrant atmosphere and outdoor seating. It's a great place to enjoy breakfast and lunch with an array of options to choose from. The cafe takes pride in serving top-notch coffee, seasonal smoothies, and other refreshing drinks like the Tropicana tonic. Their menu features a variety of dishes, including the Bayleaf Greens bowl, Aussie Burger, and delectable banana hemp seed bread.
Best place for coffee and breakfast in Byron Bay! Highly recommended to everyone 💘 My favorite dishes are the scrambled eggs and the French toast — absolutely delicious! The staff is super friendly and always make you feel welcome.

Such a cute little spot! The location is great and the whole vibe was perfect for a relaxed brunch. We sat outside in the sun and it was just what we were after. The staff were all lovely and welcoming, and both the food and coffee were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and full of flavour – just a really solid brunch experience from start to finish. Would definitely go back next time we’re in town!

We came looking for Sol. Apparently, he wasn't there 🥲. But the restaurant he ate at was truly delicious. The food was unique and incredibly delicious 😋. The staff was cheerful and lively. The coffee was incredibly smooth. We'll definitely be back next time. Hopefully, Sol will show up next time 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great food, coffee and service. We visited twice for breakfast when we were in Byron Bay. Must try when you are in town. Eggs of Tokyo - chilli oil scrambled eggs on Japanese rice is amazing. Spiced cold brew coffee is creative and nice.

What a happy vibrant and happening piece of Byron Bay. Welcomed by several team members and checking we were happy diners, we had a wonderful brunch. The open kitchen is a great feature of this establishment and the preparation of the meals being prepared was fantastic to watch. Every plate served with such precision. The fast pace that the food was cooked and plated was also impressive, (and delicious). I give you 20 stars out of 5. We love that we found you, no doubt, up with the best in town. Thankyou all

Over the past decade, I’ve visited Byron every year, and with each trip I’ve tried to discover a new breakfast spot. This year’s find was Bayleaf. I know it’s been around for a while—maybe that’s exactly why I never tried it sooner! The food is wonderful, and I really love the curated menu. I’ve had the chance to taste both their winter and summer dishes, and each one was a delight. The staff is equally lovely, and if you go, don’t miss the matcha cloud—absolutely delicious.
Juniali N — Google review
Perfect 5 star experience. Coffee was 10/10. Servers were very attentive and friendly. And the food came so fast it felt as though I had only just finished the order as it had arrived! The honey they used for the coffee incredibly sweat and raw. Juan served us with incredible vibes from the moment sat to the moment we left.
Demmy T — Google review
When all you can think about is the regret of not making your mind up while on holiday, which one to have? So you order both. Now to loose the weight. I indulged in House made Banana & Hempseed bread with lemon whipped ricotta & fruits. And House made Wattle seed Granola with Berry Panacota & seasonal fruit.

Folk Byron Bay is a beloved local institution known for its cozy atmosphere and satisfying meals made from locally sourced ingredients. It's a notable vegan-friendly restaurant offering wholesome, hearty dishes. The Top Shop is another favorite weekend destination for locals, featuring an extensive menu of smoothies, juices, and cooked breakfasts.
Folk truly became our happy place during the two months we spent in Byron. We came back again and again — not just for the delicious food and coffee, but for the warm, soulful energy that fills this little oasis. Every visit felt like a hug. The people here are kind, genuine, and make you feel right at home. There’s a magic to this place that’s hard to put into words — it’s calm, creative, and deeply connected to the spirit of Byron. We’re counting down the days until we’re back in just a few weeks. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of our journey.

This place is all over Instagram, so I went and honestly, the food is a 10/10. I had the avocado toast with an incredible bread that tasted homemade, soft and fluffy, like sourdough. All the food was full of flavor and made on-site. The coffee was excellent. They had boxed oat milk, and they make their own almond milk in-house, though I didn’t try it. The space is very open and designed for outdoor seating, but the day I went it was quite windy and cold, and I didn’t see any heaters maybe that’s something they could improve.

A Must-Visit in Byron Bay! 🌿✨ Folk in Byron Bay is an absolute gem! I ordered the vegan burrito, scrambled eggs, and a vegan blueberry loaf - and every single dish was incredibly delicious. The flavours were fresh, well-balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The vegan options were especially impressive! What truly makes Folk special is the atmosphere. It has such a unique, calm, and cozy vibe - the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and inspired. With its beautiful outdoor setting and laid-back energy, it perfectly captures the spirit of Byron Bay. Amazing food + unforgettable atmosphere = 5/5 stars without a doubt. I can’t wait to go back! 🌸

It was just amazing place.. the smoothies, the food, there was an extremely talented girl singing.. i would go every day if I had the chance
Felipe G — Google review
Decided to give folk Byron Bay a try on Sunday as it kept popping up on my socials and looked sensational. Online arrived to find there is no car park or parking. It’s right next door to the caravan park so parking is a nightmare at a hazard has the car park king that is available is a shared zone with the entry to the caravan park so it is a hazard on street parking on the main road is mostly zoned no standing so if you do park there you’ll get a fine. We spent $91 on what you see in the pictures. Order at counter pay at counter atmosphere. It was very average and spoke to staff about the 15% surcharge that we were to pay for and was told that it goes to the employees. No looking forward to the law changing when they’re not able to charge you 15% for nothing on top of what you’re already paying for overpriced and average food. These meals could’ve been made at home for cost of around $20 As after all we were only ordering simple eggs and avo smash one cappuccino and one Chai latte $91.00, sorry not sorry I am honest when I do a review on somewhere that I am paying good money to eat at We will not be back !
Caroline G — Google review
It's located on the side of a road on the way out of Byron bay. The setup is great with plenty of trees to provide shade and nice alcoves outside. The service was friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the double egg roll, it was sizable enough. The granola bowl however felt oddly dry despite the yoghurt and the fruit. It wasn't sweet so if you opt for it I'd recommend asking for some honey to sweeten the deal. The price was to be expected for the area and the portion sizes are big enough. Overall this is a great place for brunch around Byron bay, I would highly recommend it.
Daniele R — Google review
What a beautiful little gem! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found this cafe and went back another two times. Fantastic drinks and food with vegan options, good coffee, very friendly service and comfy outdoor seating. I loved the nourish bowl and the soba noodle salad, both contained an exquisite mix of interesting spices and flavours. Also really really good (and hot!) is the spiced cacao. The only negative experience was that when I cam for the third time we had to wait for 40 minutes to get our drinks.

Absolutely delicious veggie and vegan food! We had a very tasty and healthy meal in the shaded leafy garden. Such a peaceful atmosphere.

The Top Shop, formerly known as The Top Store milk bar and takeaway since 1951, is a beloved hangout in Byron Bay. It caters to a diverse crowd, from locals to tourists, offering a laid-back atmosphere and delicious food and coffee. Situated at the corner of Massinger and Carlyle Street, this cozy cafe serves top-notch single-origin coffee along with a variety of breakfast and lunch options made from fresh local ingredients.
The cutest little cafe! The coffee was fantastic, and the pastries/cakes were absolutely delicious—especially the banana bread, which was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The staff were so lovely and friendly, creating such a warm and welcoming vibe. The setting is just perfect, with outdoor seating to soak up the sunshine while enjoying your morning coffee. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING! Tucked in a cute area, it has some of the most incredible pastries. We had the ham & cheese and veggie croissant (super good, and I'm a french picky eater so trust me!). The lemon cake was great too. My favorite was their blueberry muffin. Haven't tried their chocolate croissant but if you do, let me know! Staff is super friendly as well. We will definitely come back here! (#ProTip: Doesn't have a ton of space for a sit down breakfast, although people sat on the lawn outside so it works!) #Update: I had to come back and add more information. I tried there burger today (beek, fish and shrimp) and they are just excellent. This place is a #MUST. Owner is french and surprised us by talking to my mom in French. Just incredible service and great food. I've been here 5 days, and I must have come here at least 4 times!!!

We had a delicious breakfast at Top Shop today. The berry chocolate muffin was basically to die for! The açaí bowls were terrific. The service and atmosphere were also very nice. Highly recommend.

Cosy little coffee shop that’s perfect for a stop if you’re in the area – you can even sit out on the grass! The menu has a great mix of breakfast and lunch options. Portions are generous, especially the fries which are perfect for sharing. I had the American Burger and my partner had the Steak Roll – both were absolutely delicious.
Céline L — Google review
Super chilled and great value. We had the breaky burgers and they were amazing, super tasty and non-greasy and packed with yummy filling & hash brown. Friendly service and down to earth vibes 😀

Highly overrated. Matcha was watered down milk was white image of watered down. Bacon and egg was good enough. Very expensive for no reason

Came once for lunch and the burgers and matcha were solid! Came again for breakfast and the mango smoothie and coffee were amazing!! Staff was so friendly, super easy to find a spot to sit, and the ambience was great. Would’ve gone back again if we had more time!!
Jules L — Google review
You can’t beat the atmosphere here sitting outside on a warm day! Great place for eat in or takeout. Burger was full of flavor sitting between a soft bun, coffee is great, drinks fridge has lots of options and I’ve not tried a peach juice before but it was also on point!

Combi Byron Bay is a popular breakfast spot with a central location and a small but enticing menu. The highlight is their epic acai and smoothie bowls, particularly the Organic Chia Party. In addition to staples like avo on toast and toasted sandwiches, they offer unique items such as the Sweet Sprouted Bread. This vegan-friendly eatery also serves delectable raw vegan caramel slices and other plant-based dishes.
We really love the menu here and we think that the staff are terrific we really appreciate the effort they put into their food it looks great and it tastes delicious and we're all very happy to return
David C — Google review
Very busy cafe and we were lucky to get a seat last minute. You can order from the tables but this finishes at 1:15pm I think it was, so it wouldn’t let us order. We had to then go up to the counter. Buckwheat pancakes were pretty good. Husband loved the flavours of the mushroom toast. We didn’t order drinks as we’d already had a coffee. Good selection of vegan options. Love that it’s organic
Lauren ( — Google review
Such a cute cafe. We had the mushroom on toast & acai bowl. Food tastes quite good but nothing special just like any other breakfast cafe. The menu is quite pricey, $30 for eggs benedict with ham but I guess that’s the standard price in Byron Bay. We also had their smoothies, shine on me, it tastes refreshing.
Monica S — Google review
We went for coffee with my friends and, honestly, we were a bit disappointed. The coffees took almost 20 minutes to arrive, and the taste wasn’t very pleasant. I ordered a sweet muffin and the banana flavor was terrible. One of the waitresses wasn’t very friendly when we asked why the coffees were taking so long. I hope you can take the feedback into account to improve some aspects of the service :)
Valeria — Google review
I'm not a crumpet expert but mine were a bit harsh to eat :( not fluffy or soft at all. I wouldn't recommend eating them to anyone, sorry about it! The atmosphere was nice and I could read my book there for a while without being bothered (it wasn't busy).
Nerea S — Google review
The winter porridge was absolutely divine! The adaptogenic hot choc was delicious and perfect with a shot of decaf. All food was displayed beautifully and tasted incredible. The staff were kind, professional and welcoming. The heaters on for winter was a lovely touch. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

A leisurely dining vibe. OMG…. The sourdough is super perfect…It seared with chili oil, releasing irresistible aroma. It is the best sourdough I have had in this trip!
Cha L — Google review
Service was far too slow. The waitress forgot our order and brought a simple dish out last. They also add a 10% weekend surcharge, which is ridiculous considering weekends are when cafés and restaurants are busiest. Ultimately, the breakfast was way too expensive for what we got. It honestly felt like we’d gone out for dinner rather than breakfast, given how much we spent.

Breakfast restaurant
The Byron Bay General Store is a newly opened cafe that has breathed new life into the original General Store established in 1947. The menu offers popular crowd-pleasers like burgers, smoothie bowls, waffles, and pastries with options for modifications to cater to different preferences. The cafe also serves kombucha on tap, nitro coffee, and cold brews. Known as 'The Top Store,' it is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy coffee or a relaxed lunch.
The breakfast is so delicious and fresh. The irony is that the food choice is so enticing that you are tempted (and actually) eat much more than you should. The açaí bowl is not too sweet and full of great fruit and seeds. The banana bread is to die for. There is some kind of vegan cupcake with a date frosting that is so good, it can’t possibly be healthy. But is seems it is. Overall, we highly recommend.
Marc J — Google review
Visited Byron Bay General Store around 12 PM and there were still plenty of tables to choose from. Not too crowded, which made it a really relaxing lunch spot. The food was delicious and beautifully presented! I also tried their mushroom latte and added a shot of coffee, it tasted superb! ☕🍄 It was my first time trying it, and it’s definitely something I’d order again. Great vibes, friendly service, and tasty food. Will absolutely come back again! 💛
Lili C — Google review
The Byron General Store's "Big Breakfast" offers a standout experience in light and flavourful morning fare. It features quality bacon (crispy, not greasy), perfectly cooked eggs, and a flavourful beef sausage. What truly sets it apart are the exciting additions of perfectly salty and squeaky grilled halloumi, a refreshing and zesty sauerkraut, and a subtly sweet and savoury tomato chutney. The absence of excessive oil ensures a surprisingly light feel. The friendly and attentive service further enhanced the experience, with the meal arriving promptly. If you're looking for a big breakfast that breaks the mould with these creative and quality ingredients, the Byron General Store is a must-visit.

I was walking to Tallow Beach when I came across this lovely café. I met some friendly people and had a nice little chat. The coffee was great! I love coffee and really enjoy visiting cafés with a warm, welcoming atmosphere like this one.

Food was good. However they don’t have normal scrambled eggs on the menu, is prepared already with goat cheese which I don’t eat goat cheese, bit disappointed that I can only order fried egg.
Jo L — Google review
One of our favourite breakkys in Byron Bay! Food was delicious, coffees great and staff were lovely Only negative was that our first dish came out super quick then there was about 15 mins til the second arrived - both on the same order via QR code so not a front of house error 🤷‍♀️
Jessica W — Google review
Our go-to breakfast spot. The vibe is super chill – wooden décor, surf prints, and that laid-back Byron feel. A fresh muffin and a hot cappuccino here just hit different in the morning 🧚
Erica — Google review
Definitely cornered the merch side of the cafe industry. Food is good and the menu is nice & has some good choices, coffee is nice, it's just slow service, lots of staff, think the laid back atmosphere is reason for slowness in service. Definitely worth going to breakfast, be prepared to wait for a seat.

The Roadhouse Byron Bay is a charming and light-filled cafe with a rustic-chic vibe, featuring a spacious terrace for guests to enjoy. The cafe offers a creative brunch menu that changes regularly based on locally grown produce from Byron farmers.
Perfect place to have breakfast or brunch. You can always spot cool staff, really friendly. We tried the avocado toast, and the Eggs Benedict, everything super tasty and healthy. The coffee is real good! We found the size of the toasts really fulfilling, so worth it.

Having liked the look of the Roadside as I drove by, I decided to drop in for brunch one sunny morning, and I’m pleased I did. It’s a popular spot, but I was fortunate to find parking and an outside table where I could sit with my dog on the ground next to me. The outdoor area is relaxed and peaceful, so it’s easy to forget its roadside location. Staff were friendly and efficient. The wait time for my order was next to nothing. My flat white was strong, flavoursome and artistically presented. For my meal, I chose the eggs, poached, with sides of mushrooms and a hash brown. That was tasty, although the eggs had been poached for a little longer than I would have liked, and were rather on the small side. I guess finding any eggs can be a challenge these days. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable meal away from the city centre.

We visited The Roadhouse in Byron Bay, and from the moment we arrived, Chef Pedro and Mel, made us feel so at home. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even letting our little pet Luna come in with us, which was very kind. The food was just amazing. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There's a real focus on quality ingredients and simplicity done to perfection. It was such a good experience that we had to go back the next morning for breakfast. As a coffee lover, I can honestly say their coffee is the best in town. Rich, smooth, and made with real care. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and relaxed, the perfect Byron Bay vibe. If you’re looking for great food, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality (plus a pet-friendly touch!), The Roadhouse is an absolute must. Thanks again, Chef Pedro and Mel. We’ll definitely be back!
Henrique L — Google review
We ordered a dirty chai, chai latte, and an almond croissant. Everything was delicious, but the croissant took quite a while to arrive. My friend's already finished her chai by then, that's not ideal. Still, it's a perfect place to enjoy the sun!

We usually go here for coffee/brekky - but the SHOWSTOPPER was dinner! Oh my gosh, faultless incredible gourmet beautiful delicious food! The two main chefs are Brazilian who does all the chargrill nibbles/mains and Italian chef who makes the best woodfire pizza we have had….ever! 6 of us dined there and was our favourite meal of the trip. MUST go for dinner. Wish we took more pictures but enjoying ourselves too much. Thank you roadhouse team

An absolute standout! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and incredible service from Melody and the team. The pizzas are delicious, perfectly crisp bases, premium toppings, and the flavours are spot on (the salami with hot honey is a must-try!). The wine list is equally impressive, with delicious options that pair beautifully with the food. Every visit feels like a treat, it’s our new favourite spot for a relaxed yet special night out. 🤤🍕

Dip Cafe, located in Byron Bay, offers a trendy and chic dining experience with a Parisian-inspired ambiance. The cafe is known for its all-day brunch menu featuring diverse egg dishes and daily-made hollandaise sauce. In addition to classic brunch options like buttermilk pancakes and bacon and egg rolls, the cafe also serves French favorites such as croque madams, monsieurs, and French bruschetta.
Very cute & classy French cafe on one of the main st in Byron! The owner was very friendly & accommodating & also happy to take tips on how to make a good Matcha 🍵 It’s so hard to find a good Matcha, I was very happy with this one & my husband was also happy with his coffee.. Our breakfast didn’t take very long to come out at all, the eggs were cooked to perfection, the salmon was fresh, the hollandaise sauce was plentiful, rich & creamy & they were a good serving size.. We will definitely be back next time we are up this way. Thank you for the exceptional service!

Dip into Dip if you fancy some French inspired breakfast, brunch or lunch. It was a recommendation from a friend whose kids go to school together locally. Was not disappointed!! It was a wet cold morning so not busy. French jazz in the background. Lovely serving staff made to feel welcome. Coffee is great. Scrambled Eggs were cooked to perfection. Halloumi was perfect with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of cracked black pepper. Smoked salmon was a perfect accompaniment. Over all great treat for a table of one. There was a table of 4 sitting over from me full of wows and delightful noises when their breakfast was served as well. Well done team. Great solo dining experience.

I ordered the brushetta with crispy bacon on the side we also ordered from the specials board. Give this cafe a go when visiting Byron Bay !

August 2025 Our late Sunday breakfast in Dip Cafe was easy, quick and delicious, exactly what we were looking for. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you team

This is a nice breakfast place with great coffee. I am probably slightly bias in my enjoyment as I love eggs Benny, as such I liked seeing the 5 or so different options of this dish on the menu! They had a few different menu items to cater for the majority also, which by the looks of what others had seemed similar quality! The coffee was great, quite strong, and well flavoured. There was indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of it. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I would certainly appreciate a visit!

I recently went back to this iconic establishment during one of its busiest holiday periods in Byron Bay. Dip Cafe is a long-standing breakfast and lunch cafe which has stood the test of time, and still exemplifies fresh innovative quality food and great service in Byron Bay. The menu of food and drinks is broad and caters for everyone. Always great food, super friendly service , and the ambience never disappoints. Bravo DIP

Espressohead Cafe is a popular spot in Byron Bay, open daily from 6:30 am to 2 pm. It's known for its top-notch coffee and organic all-day menu featuring items like out-the-oven muffins, homemade granola, classic brekkie rolls, and the must-try Vietnamese crispy rice pancake with fried eggs and crunchy slaw.
Wow. The chai tea pot is beyond incredible! The chai is filled with spices and brewed in milk of your choice. Espressohead has free WiFi and good tables for remote work. Silva was incredibly kind and helpful! This is the best spot I’ve found in my 2 months in Australia! I will absolutely be back here for the rest of my time in Byron Bay.

For our last breakfast in Byron, we picked espressohead cafe and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent and coffee was superb. We even picked up a bag of beans for back home.

I’ve been visiting Byron annually for over a decade now, and almost every trip has revolved around one thing: the pancakes at Espressohead. Each year, I return for two reasons—first, because I’ve been craving them, and second, to confirm whether they’re still the best pancakes in the world. And when I say “in the world,” I mean it humbly—after food-tasting in over 60 countries, I can confidently say these pancakes remain unbeatable. The fluffiness, paired with the coconut cream, is just next level. Simply the best, best, best. Do yourself a favor and try them!

Yummy food and even yummier smoothies. Friendly and cheerful service from the lovely staff. Nice location, tucked away from the main road so nice and peaceful but still with a great buzzy vibe.

Came for the coffee and pancake and was not disappointed. Staff were friendly and even with a small kitchen and a busy day, the service was relatively quick. Would come back if we visit Byron again.

Ordered a pancake- it was too sweet for me, drenched in maple syrup as described in the menu Latte was good Also ordered for a chicken burger, was good Tea was great And the toast and egg from the kids menu was worth

Perfect location and great atmosphere! The staff were quick and efficient- However - for $80 two breakfasts with two coffees, the food did not meet the standards! The poached eggs were very hard, “smashed peas” were completely whole and not a smashed one in sight! Flavour was ok - but both breakfast portions were very slim for the price (1 small sourdough slice). Great little place for coffee - wouldn’t recommend the food!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Byron Bay, Sunday Sustainable Bakery is a beloved local spot renowned for its delectable dishes and invigorating coffee enjoyed with a clear conscience. The bakery prides itself on crafting everything in-house using locally sourced ingredients, with a focus on organic produce whenever feasible. The aroma of their freshly baked sourdough bread is sure to delight early risers.
As a Frenchman, I can easily say that this is one of the best bakeries in Australia. The bread, sandwiches and pastries are really excellent! Thank you for giving me back the taste of good bread so rare in this country !

We came at 6am on Labour Day before driving back to Sydney. They already had a full display of great looking pastries and breads, so it was a hard choice. We got a normal croissant and some other pastry with sugar and cinnamon. Both great. But the coffee is the real star of the show. One of the best I’ve had in my life..

The food here was incredible! The best ham baguette, coffee, lamb pie.. omg the smoked salmon roll! They also had great carrot cake! Lovely staff, chill vibes and open till mid afternoon which was super convenient to us. Also over the road from Woolies, which was handy for grabbing all our bits for a long day of beach bumming and a coffee and breaky to go. One of my favourite spots in Byron 11/10 !!!

Beach Byron Bay is a stylish beachfront cafe and restaurant that offers a modern Australian menu. It is known for its delicious seafood options and provides a memorable dining experience with stunning coastal panoramas across the bay. The open-air terrace above Clarkes Beach makes it one of the best restaurants in Byron Bay for ocean views, perfect for special occasions.
Don't question it, just make the reservation, you won't be disappointed! There maybe multiple restaurants in Byron Bay, but there is NO OTHER as fantastic as Beach. When you see the portion sizes you will not question the price. The dishes are generous in size and flavour and the presentation is stunning. I was spoilt for choice when perusing the menu. A good reason to come back soon! The service is impeccable. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. They invest a lot of consideration and care in ensuring you have a wonderful experience. The mussel dish I chose for my entree was probably one of the best I have had from any restaurant. The combination and flavours are unique and delicious. Local Mulloway was my main course of choice, perfectly cooked and served with a light beurre blanc, crispy pancetta and salmon caviar. Both courses were complimented by a beautiful Gros Nore' Rose from the Bandol region of France. I chose Ruby Chocolate mousse for dessert which was again unique and delicious. The chef uses native raspberries from the local market in Byron Bay to perfectly cut through the sweetness and richness of the ruby chocolate. My husband's Rhubarb Mille Feuille was and I quote 'faultless' There was no sunset that afternoon, but a dark, stormy and menacing sky was our vista, making the ocean look like an aquamarine jewel. It was nothing short of breathtaking. I nosily saw a couple nearby ordering from the 'Happy Hour' menu and I was keen to learn further details from our wonderful server Alan. So that is next on the list, Happy Hour, possibly staying for dinner to enjoy the rest of the menu. God I love this place.

We just had the most amazing lunch at Beach. The food was sublime. Oysters, octopus and fish both raw and cooked. Every bite made better by the amazing view of the bay from our table. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

My family stopped in at Beach while we were traveling through Byron Bay and were welcomed without a reservation. Everything that happened after that was a comedy of errors, but I can say with earnest that this restaurant was a highlight of our trip. Sa was our waitress and was incredibly kind to seat us and allow us to wait with some cocktails for an hour until the kitchen reopened after a private event. While we were there, we had a glitch with our night’s accommodations, and since we were traveling from abroad, we asked to use the restaurant’s phone, and when that had issues, Alan very generously let us use his personal mobile to call our villa. Most importantly, the food was delicious. We had the yellowfin tuna starter and can understand why it is a signature dish. The sirloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the asparagus was also perfect - well cooked and still had the perfect snap to it. Last, the roast potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist inside. Finally, we had an issue with the payment system which resulted in us paying another table’s bill, but Alan flagged us down in the parking lot so we could get it straightened out. Through all of this, Sa was incredibly kind, warm, and assuring, apologizing profusely for our misfortune. We left wishing we were staying longer so we could try the rest of the menu. If we make it back to Byron Bay, Beach will absolutely be at the top of our list. Cannot recommend stopping here enough for a quality meal and warm environment.

Thank you for letting me sit after the long coastal walk to the easternmost tip of Australia and the lighthouse. I enjoyed an affogato with a local liqueur MAC by Brookie's. Recommended by the lovely waitress who was so welcoming. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home to Melbourne

Where do we even begin. Planning a Byron wedding from Melbourne could’ve easily been stressful, but working with Belinda from day one made it an absolute breeze. She was so organised, helpful and just genuinely lovely to deal with. Nothing was ever too hard and she made the whole process feel seamless. Come wedding day, Sara took over and wow, she was incredible. Calm, collected and completely on top of everything. The day ran so smoothly and we honestly didn’t have to lift a finger. Now let’s talk about the food. The food and drinks were honestly deliciously good. From the canapés during cocktail hour right through to the mains, every single bite was a hit. So many of our guests came up to us saying it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and they weren’t wrong. The service staff on the day were amazing too. They were all friendly, professional and so switched on. And the venue itself... WOW. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Photos really don’t do it justice, you simply have to see it to believe it. It’s easily one of the most beautiful spots in Byron. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, the roof was open and we danced the night away under the stars. It was such a dream. We can’t thank the Beach Byron Bay team (especially Belinda and Sara) enough for helping us pull off the best day of our lives. It will always be forever in our core memories. If you’re thinking about getting married in Byron, this place is a no-brainer..!

Beach Café recently hosted our Zepto customer event, Beyond the Break. From the very beginning, Belinda was outstanding—her support, attention to detail, and dedication made the planning process seamless. On the night, the entire team was exceptionally professional, welcoming, and accommodating. And the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted. We couldn’t recommend Beach Café more highly for anyone looking to host an event or popping in for a meal. A heartfelt thank you to Belinda and the whole team for your wonderful hospitality. The Zepto Team - Byron Bay

We couldn’t have had a better wedding experience. From the outset, Belinda was exceptional to deal with and gave us so much practical advice. On the day, Sara handled coordination perfectly and the venue, food, drinks, attention to detail and overall vibe was superb. Couldn’t recommend more highly. It was the perfect wedding.

There we only 8 other people here. We stopped in for a drink and something to eat after doing the lighthouse walk, really disappointed in the attitude, felt like an imposition we purchased a $9 bottle of water as we wanted some cold no glasses/cups offered again given 2 when there were 3 of us. When we tried to clarify the order name so as not to take the wrong one, again rude. Not helpful at all, shame because perfect location

Excellent coffee with a variety of plant milks - I personally love coconut, which not too many places offer. The avo on sourdough was divine with a beautiful balance of flavours. The atmosphere is chill but vibey.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Bali Bagus Cafe. After hearing such great things from friends in Melbourne and seeing all the positive reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, we were not welcomed or even acknowledged for over 10 minutes. We sat waiting, only to be completely ignored while the man behind the counter continued serving others. In the end, we had to approach them with a “hello” just to get a menu. It’s terrible not being greeted or acknowledged at all, basic customer service was completely lacking. First impressions matter, and sadly, this was far from the warm and welcoming experience we were expecting.

It gets pretty crowded at breakfast but the staff wait on you quickly and your orders are put through quite efficiently. Coffee is pretty good and so is the avocado on toast (expensive 🫰 but so it is everywhere in Byron Bay the tourist town) - portions are generous so it's OK. The cafe is right next to the beach so it's nice to takeaway and have your meal on one of the picnic tables overlooking the beach. The barista is very friendly and does his best to remember your name and preferred coffee ☕

The best cafe in Byron Bay on main beach. Book ahead if you can as this place gets super busy. Five star service and presentation but the food is made to perfection. Highly reccommended the Corn Fritters, Big Breakfast, Pancakes and Smashed Avo. The bacon is cooked well, corn fritters are hand made and full of delicious flavour. Pancakes are thick and scrumptious. Don't pass this place up. It's amazing.

Cute and easy cafe next to the beach. Ended up being my favourite breakfast in town for friendly staff and great food and nice atmosphere. The big vegan was unreal, best breakfast in a long time. I nearly didn’t order it as it seemed expensive but it was well worth it. However, Skip the coffee though (there’s much much better elsewhere) and have a smoothie instead.

I have never written any reviews but early this morning I was the only customer and I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk for $8, but what I received was really disappointing. There were just a few grains of matcha powder at the bottom of the cup, barely enough to make it a proper matcha latte. It felt like I was drinking plain oat milk with no flavor or matcha essence. For the price, I expected a much more well-balanced drink. I hope the store can ensure that drinks like this are made correctly in the future, especially when paying a premium price.

Grabbed a coffee here today based on the reviews I read and it didn't disappoint 👌 My kind of coffee 😋 I'll be back soon to try the Spanish Baguettes from the window next door as the sound delicious, and coffee and a Baguette sound like a good lunch combo to me.

This is the kind of cafe and food I live for and is so Byron! This spot is a true humble vibe and I could honestly have this food everyday for the rest of my life. I ordered the Mixed Plate, the photo does not do justice compare to what my taste buds experienced! I also love a Dirty Chai which isn’t on their menu but the waitress kindly said they would happily make it. Well worth the visit if in this side of Byron Bay or passing through. Lovely outdoor seating area, and smaller indoor seating area. Many tables designed for groups, pairs to solo visitors. The menu is interesting and all of our group loved our bakery items, coffees and smoothies. Especially the choc chip cookie and beetroot chocolate brownie.

We ordered two smoothies and were really disappointed with the taste.. they both tasted like icy milk. My feedback is that they should refine them and taste before serving. Also I’ve noticed a few snarky/rude replies to others feedback - please understand that this is just our experience (consider how you can accept the feedback and improve rather than respond rudely).

I was looking for somewhere to go for lunch but saw the low rating and decided to check reviews first, after reading the reviews and the way the actual owner responds to people right here for all to see, literally calling them idiots in writing or completely ignoring fair issues and just telling people “gratitude is the best attitude”, there’s probably so much more and worse but I gave up after just seeing that it was enough, it’s a really gross vibe and I would never choose to go spend my money here. I recommend the owner learn something about hospitality, service and growing and learning from the customers feedback because their overall rating is terrible, and it’s completely understandable why. Sad.
Beth H — Google review
I honestly find the experience at Vagabond confusing. The staff always seem irritated or uninterested. It makes me wonder why their staff work in customer service when they clearly dislike interacting with customers. It’s such an odd atmosphere, you walk in wanting a simple smoothie and leave feeling like you’ve done something wrong just by ordering.
ANDREA S — Google review
Food: food here is pretty solid. I recommend the nourish bowl. For 22$ the serving size is decent Coffee: coffee here is good, but at the bottom of my cup the other day I found a fly 💀 I’m hoping it flew in there after I finished, but it’s unlikely it could have fit in the small sip hole Service: some of the staff are really lovely, others really lack customer service skills. They seem like they don’t want to work at the store. Atmosphere: the vibe and ambiance is pretty good! Can’t complain about that.

This place is just so Byron - from the veggie food, to the fun beverages, to the beautiful people. Horrible staff. Went there asking for some tap water and the lady told me to get water from the showers close to the beach. Then I asked why she couldn’t just give me some tap water and she said “because you didn’t buy anything and there’s water downstairs”. Tap water is tap water… I shouldn’t have to buy something to get free water… Never in Australia I was refused water from somewhere. I’m not even coming back to get food or anything else from this place and that lady should really consider start being nice to people, we all have bad days but that doesn’t mean we need to be rude 👎🏽 ** in response to your reply below - I think you might be missing the point of my feedback. Which if you read the other reviews, adds up. Firstly, there were no other customers in there , zero, so it’s hardly about your “need to prioritise customers”. There are many ways to handle any situation, and when you choose to have an attitude towards others, you are not creating an atmosphere where people want to come. If it were my place of work, I think the cost of a cup of tap water is worth it rather than the bad feeling you leave people with. You could have said the below in a polite way, but instead you were extremely rude. When I shared my experience with others they were quick to share similar stories in interactions with you. It’s your business at the end of the day, but you could take those moments to have a positive interaction, ask someone how their day is, and you would have had a return customer.

Absolutely remarkable barramundi fish & chips. Been a while since I’ve had such a properly-made fish & chips. The batter sticks well into the fish + portion was generous. The burgers were also good. Iced chai latte was also good, so was the masala hot chai tea. The views & vibes of the restaurant were also amazing. The service from the staff was absolutely commendable. They accommodated remarkably well, went above & beyond, and were so friendly with everything. Overall, a solid & deserving 5/5.

I finished my small long black before the food came. Hopefully it gets better. Other than that this cafe must get busy as it is a very touristy spot. The food was yummy & the coffee was delicious!

We visit The Pass Cafe every year when we visit Byron, usually for Breakfast. Today was particularly special as we had some friends from Tweed Heads visiting, and we wanted to show them around. there was a table available straight away, and the coffee was beautiful. I also tried the breakfast burger and fresh orange juice. My friend enjoyed her pancakes with ice cream and banana and she was able to buy a child’s portion as she only eats small portions. We will definitely be back before the holiday is over

Nestled among lush palm trees opposite Belongil Beach, Treehouse Byron Bay offers a bohemian restaurant and bar experience with global cuisine, wood-fired pizzas, and live music. The venue provides a casual Mediterranean menu featuring family favorites and local brews. Guests can enjoy their meals in the tropical garden or opt for takeaways to savor on the beach.
This is a great find! It has all of the Byron appeal but without the centre of town hustle and bustle. We struggled to find a table for brunch in town so jumped in the car and headed to Treehouse. Loads of 2 hour free parking. The venue is awesome. An outside feel with cosy little nooks and sofas. The food is great. We ordered the breakfast tacos and breakfast rolls. Both were superb and not as pricey as the cafes in town. We then headed to the beach across the road for some paddling! The Only moan would be they weren’t that busy but food took about 30 minutes to come out. It was worth the wait tho!

We were extremely happy, what a find, such a quirky, quaint building, the service surpassed any service we have ever had in Byron. Amazing pizzas, drinks and coffee. Relaxed away from the hustle of Byron Central, relaxed atmosphere. If you truly love chilled, with friendly service, then make yourself a booking. You will not be disappointed, then take a walk across the road to the beach to top of the experience. Great place to store away memories.

This place has a nice seating area outdoors, surrounded by trees as per the name Fish tacos was the best thing we got, was actually delicious. $20 pizzas for lunch was a good deal, there was $20 pastas as well. The treehouse bowl looked great but lacked any real flavour, would’ve been a lot better with some balsamic or lemon zest. We got marinated chicken extra but it was a relatively small portion and didn’t add too much flavour or protein. The burger was pretty average Overall decent place for food

I wish we had more time to dine in cause damn just seeing this place on pickup was unreal while place almost felt like a fever dream haha So anyway we ordered take away 2x pepperoni 2x margarita and 1 kids margarita, my daughter absolutely lost it when she seen it was shaped like Mickey Mouse best thing she’s ever seen, and probably the first time she’s ate a full pizza! My pepperoni was an absolute 10/10 unreal flavours soft and crunchy every bite had flavour, the slight kick from the pepperoni was unexpected but an awesome twist to a standard pep. The margarita was perfect also, not over complicated not trying to be anything more than what it is,great flavours! Wish we had more time I would be back again

On a whim headed down to The Treehouse for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with the eclectic atmosphere, it’s an amazing place for a restaurant. The food was great and the staff were friendly. I would certainly recommend The Treehouse

It was Sunday. There was live music. We sat around a big long table with 5 dogs. Amazing restaurants with friendly staff. Next to the beach ⛱️ but not so busy area. Dishes were also delicious.
Hellen — Google review
Honestly, nice place, just way out of my price range. I expected to be able to duck over and have a beer after working on a truck nearby and seeing how lively the joint was. Cheapest beer is $12 for a bottle of corona. And I expected more from a $27 cocktail too, presented nicely, but its 80% ice. Still, food looks great, and the drink was tasty despite being so small
Matthew D — Google review
Beautiful place, but disappointing service The restaurant itself is gorgeous, but unfortunately the service completely ruins the experience. The staff looked grumpy and uninterested, and even the lemons we asked for came out dry and oxidized. We even pointed this out to the waitress, and she still brought the same thing again. It’s a shame, because the setting is lovely . but with service this poor, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Best roaster in the Northern Rivers! Rodney knows his coffee. We love our local haunt! Great place to catch up with friends, including the owners and baristas (who feel more like family than service staff).

Coolest coffee destination in the township of Byron. You won’t find better beans that I can guarantee. Chic back alleyway location with interesting mural art to match!

Went to grab a coffee here yesterday morning while visiting Byron for the long weekend. Honestly, the younger guy working was so dismissive it completely put me off coming back. I politely asked whether the flat white was a single or double shot, and he acted like it was a ridiculous question - super smug and couldn’t give me a straight answer. The attitude really soured the experience and the coffee wasn’t even that amazing. Had great coffee outside Woolworths!
Rose T — Google review
This place does great coffee, certainly worth a visit for takeaway or a sit down although there is limited seating. We stopped in a few months ago on our last day in Byron and wished we'd popped in on day one. The coffee was much appreciated and they had some limited snacks available too, probably one of the best coffee spots in Byron, they let me try a new blend they had in stock for free while I waited, great service and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Been coming here for 10 years, coffee amazing aa usual. However service today was very poor (not the owner, the younger, tall guy). Not sure why he had an issue with my older loyalty card, instead he insisted on throwing it in the bin. Hasn't been an issue in the past. Not exactly the response I was expecting.

Bakery
Masa Byron Bay is a popular bakery located in the industrial estate of Byron Bay. It has gained a cult following among locals and visitors alike for its delectable pastries, particularly its croissants. The bakery offers an array of sweet and savory treats, including homemade sourdough and innovative croissant flavors like eggplant, macadamia cruffin, pork sausage, and chocolate hazelnut. While the coffee may be average, the freshly baked croissants are highly recommended.
Masa Byron Bay is an amazing bakery experience! I recently visited and was thoroughly impressed by their selection. The pork sausage and fennel sausage roll was a savory delight, perfectly seasoned. For a sweet treat, both the almond croissant and the classic butter croissant were flaky and delicious. The tomato, pesto, and ricotta danish offered a unique and flavorful twist, and the cream brûlée danish was a heavenly indulgence. A must-visit if you're in the area!
Xavox — Google review
We’ve been here at 6th of October. My partner and I had a high expectations due to all the good reviews in google maps. We ordered pistachio, double chocolate, tomato cheese and salted almond. Unfortunately, none of the croissant pleased us. All were a bit doughy and really chewy. I felt like I am having a loaf of bread. The amount of chocolate in double chocolate is less than normal one. I am giving three starts just because I am familiar with all the hard work behind every small businesses and their affordable prices. However, I don’t think so I will have again.

Absolutely loved the muffins and shakes! The fresh aroma of muffins baking adds a warm and inviting touch to the atmosphere. A perfect spot for a delicious treat!

Ahhhh sooo good! The pastry was so crispy and flakey. Tried the miso mushroom and bacon carbonara. That crunch when you bite down on the layers as it falls apart *chefs kiss*. The coffee was perfect so we had to get the brioche bun filled with custard. Also fantastic. The staff was super friendly even when I sideled up to someone to ask a question about ingredients (I know, I'm that guy). They even followed up to check on us. I'd give more stars if I could!

The place is in a very quiet location, and everything is baked and made on-site. They had sweet and savory options, as well as bread. However, I was looking for their donuts and special treats, but they only make them on weekends! It was a bit disappointing—hopefully, they’ll offer them every day in the future. Still, everyone was very kind!

totally underrated. TLDR: GET THE ALMOND CROISSANT IT’S RIDICULOUSLY GOOD AND THE STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY LOVELY i normally look for 5 star places to go to exclusively - but i’m so glad i gave this one a go on one hand, the staff are incredibly lovely: i mucked up one time by not asking for honey and blamed the barista, only to find out that i, in fact, forgot to ask for it. i felt so bad, but not only were they straight onto fixing up the honey situation - they also made a conscious effort to care for my feelings 😂 i found that hilarious and beautiful, and then once i actually tried my almond croissant and coffee - i was absolutely blown away. perfectly textured, warm pastry and deliciously well-curated coffee 4.5 stars doesn’t do it justice imo 🤷🏽‍♀️

To me it’s just alright croissant with variety of choices. No doubt the croissant were good but not the rest. Went back twice just because missus likes croissant and this is the only place so far she can get a decent one in Byron. I had way better one in Sydney but hey, I know it can’t be compared for this is Byron.

The most amazing grocer. Their vegetable pies and chicken pies are better than most dining places! Raw pastry rather than pre cooked. Great selection of produce and while priced high, worth it. Great place to have breakfast in Byron Bay. Lovely & welcoming staff. They make great coffee and we enjoyed some amazing Pita pockets. The Sabih was just something we had never tried, and were blown away with how good it tasted. Shawarma didn't hold back as well fantastic filling and juicy taste. Not to forget the coffee was also spot on.

Absolutely delicious food and fantastic coffee in an alfresco space where you can people watch and stay dry even in torrential rain like we had today. Underground parking courtesy of Woollies. If I was a local I'd be passing by here most days for breakfast! ♥️

Great spot for a quick lunch & something a little different. Chicken Schnitzel & the Shawarma pita pockets were both delicious and they did a great coffee too. Only downside is that it’s out the front of Woolies if you’re eating in you cop wafts of cigarette smoke and vapes, so plan to grab it takeaway if that’s gonna bother you

We had breakfast here this morning. It was fabulous. They don't have a huge menu, but they make everything incredibly well. I had the Hummshuka Bowl and it was delicious. Husband had the Shakshuka and he through it was amazing. The pita was soft and fluffy and the salads fresh and tasty. If we lived in Byron Bay this would quickly become one of our regular places. The Coffee was some of the best we have had. Honestly, just so good.

The Cape Byron Lighthouse, standing proudly at Australia's most easterly point for over a century, is a majestic sight to behold. After taking in the breathtaking views from the lighthouse, visitors can take a leisurely stroll to the nearby Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe and National Parks and Wildlife office. The cafe offers a welcome respite from the hot weather, where one can indulge in refreshing ice cream while browsing through the National Parks and Wildlife store.
Friendly lady serving, she made a great coffee , they have Bonsoy milk for my liking on a plant based diet, not easy to find. Nice display of food, cold drinks and ice cream, but didn't try those on this occasion as was on a morning trek not ready for food. They take CASH 💵I was impressed! It also can be a hard option to find in places these days. Location of course is breathtaking nature, so nice that after a big hill climb a cafe is located here views, coffee, food its a great package 😊 Thankyou to owner for response🙏🏻, definitely visiting you again✨️

Nice little cafe with a good cuppa. We had a ham cheese tomato croissant that was quite good and a carrot cake that was pretty tasty. Now what makes this place special is quite obviously the view. One of the most iconic views in Australia. Beautiful. You have to be quite lucky to get parking g but it is available. Very nice that they have the tables outside to enjoy the view. Nice touch.

The views from this lighthouse are definitely worth the 8 dollars we paid for parking. You get a full 360° of amazing scenery and there is a lovely little hill walk too. The coffee shop is delightful too! They do fresh gelato ice cream which is exactly what you need to cool down after the walk.

Absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and the coffee was AMAZING. seriously the best coffee in Byron bay and such a reasonable price. The manager Sian and her sister are absolutely beautiful and so kind. Love that they are a family ran business and locals! Their sister cafe is also The Pass Cafe which I can not wait to try. 1000/10 the best cafe!
Loraine S — Google review
The redeeming feature of this cafe is the spectacular views! The coffee, latte and scone were mediocre. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. The car park attendant was quite rude and officious. It would be good for the frontline person to be friendly and welcoming.
Hans-Joachim R — Google review
Walked up with my water bottle, immediately told to go outside to fill it up which is fine but one of the ladies working, I could not understand what she was saying and she was pointing around the corner (the water fountain was straight ahead). Then I finally realised where she meant and heard the other lady say “open your eyes” and they both laughed….. SORRY but I could’ve found it quicker if your coworker wasn’t babbling while speaking and had just given me clear direction. Got annoyed at me when it was her coworkers fault that I started to go the wrong way. I work in hospitality I know how frustrating it can get especially when a customer can’t find something but I’d never say something rude like that out loud in front of them. So rude! Also I was planning on grabbing something to eat but nevermind! Maybe next time you go to talk poorly about or to a customer keep your voice down😁
Lara E — Google review
Popped in for a quick snack and beverage when viewing the lighthouse. Surprisingly…. Wasn’t expensive, had great food and the view is just sensational! Strong recommend from me!!!

Sensational views. Chance of spotting dolphins and whales. Sunrise is a must. Moderate walk up there. Not really much parking available (cost involved) so most people walk or ride half way. Fish and chips takeaway
Fishheads Restaurant & Takeaway Byron Bay is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts. Situated on Byron Bay's main beach, it offers a relaxed space with beach-view deck and wicker chairs. The menu focuses on fresh seafood dishes, including classic Stone & Wood beer battered fish and chips with house made tartare, as well as indulgent seafood platters for two. The restaurant provides a memorable dining experience with spectacular ocean views, making it an iconic part of the Byron Bay experience.
Few things feel more Byron than fresh seafood by the beach, and Fishheads Byron Bay delivers exactly that. We stopped by for a laid-back lunch and grabbed a table overlooking the beach — salty air, blue skies, and the sound of waves in the background. The atmosphere is relaxed and beachy, with a steady mix of locals in swimwear and tourists soaking up the coastal vibe. We ordered a classic fish and chips, some local prawns, and grilled scallops — all fresh, simple, and done right. The prawns were sweet and juicy, the scallops had a nice char, and the fish was golden and crisp without being greasy. You can tell it’s all local catch — nothing frozen or fussy. To drink, we grabbed a latte and a milkshake. The coffee was smooth and the milkshake was that perfect old-school style — cold, creamy, and nostalgic. It’s the kind of place where you can roll in straight from the sand, eat with a view, and feel like you’re on holiday even if you’re just stopping by for lunch. Casual, breezy, and very Byron.
Rita M — Google review
Service was great not sure if the brunette lady was the owner but she had great banter. We couldn't stop laughing. Beautiful table with ocean views, we dined on their set menu. It was enough food and included a variety of seafood. The squid/calamari was absolutely delightful as well as the fish!

Lovely fresh seafood at reasonable prices! We made our own platter with mussels, bug, squid and fish which was all perfectly cooked. The platter was a great option for trying a bit of everything you want without getting too much. Also grabbed the chowder-packed full of seafood and fish and chips- nice and crispy. Great, attentive service that didn't take themselves too seriously. A fun night.

Had a beautiful dinner here, food was delicious and the seafood was incredibly fresh! Great service as well. A must visit if you’re in the area, the location alone is outstanding but the great food makes it worth coming back.

The food was average overall. The fish in the fish and chips was quite small, and the chips had no salt. Adding a Coke cost an extra $7.60, which felt overpriced. The mocha was also below average. The highlight was the Big Breakfast Burger – excellent value at $15 and definitely the standout item. Service could be improved as the staff didn’t seem very friendly. However, the atmosphere is fantastic, with beautiful beachfront views that make it a nice spot to sit and eat.
Kobee M — Google review
I am writing this review still dreaming about the meal I had at Fishheads. This wasn't just a dinner; it was a fantastic all-around experience. We arrived without a booking on a busy night, fully expecting a long wait. To our amazement, the staff didn't just squeeze us in—they went above and beyond. They actually separated two connected tables to create a perfect, dedicated spot for us with a brilliant view. That level of attentive, kind service is so rare and set the tone for the entire evening. Now, for the food... WOW. I ordered the Mixed Seafood Grill and it was an absolute masterpiece. Everything was cooked to perfection—incredibly fresh, beautifully seasoned, and grilled with expert skill. The seafood chowder was equally divine; rich, creamy, and packed with generous chunks of fresh seafood. It was pure comfort in a bowl. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen is evident in every single bite. It is worth every single dollar and then some. Thank you to the wonderful team at Fishheads for your incredible hospitality and for serving what was genuinely one of the best seafood meals I've ever had. We cannot wait to come back

Nestled on an expansive 80-acre working farm, Three Blue Ducks Byron Bay offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant takes pride in using produce sourced from its own fields and orchards, ensuring that every dish reflects the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Guests can savor a picnic hamper filled with house-made treats amidst the picturesque surroundings or opt for a more refined meal in the restaurant. The menu highlights ethically sourced local ingredients, allowing their natural flavors to shine through.
We’ve visited The Farm in Byron Bay before, but this was our first time actually eating at Three Blue Ducks—and wow, I’m so glad we finally did! The whole place has such a special feel to it. Wandering around The Farm before or after your meal is part of the charm—being surrounded by open fields, animals, and fresh air just puts you in the right mood to enjoy some seriously good food. We had the specials of the day and every single bite was delicious. You can really tell they care about fresh, seasonal produce—it shows in the flavours and the way everything’s put together. The service was flawless too. Everyone was so genuinely warm and friendly—you could feel the happiness in the way they spoke and looked after us. I love that! It’s definitely a popular spot, so make sure to arrive early and line up, or better yet, book ahead if you can. We’re already looking forward to coming back for another meal here. Such a beautiful spot and an even better feed!

I had made an early reservation for 6 adults and 4 children. Unfortunately, it took nearly an hour from ordering to receiving the main courses. The kids’ meals and appetizers were finished long before the adult meals arrived. We ordered the $12 special, which included two slices of garlic bread. It was delicious, with a rich aroma and crispy texture. However, the crispy pork belly was difficult to chew, with most of it being very fatty and a small amount of tough lean meat. The sauerkraut didn’t help balance the richness of the dish. The braised beef of the day was disappointing, as the meat wasn’t tender at all. It didn’t compare to the soft and melt-in-your-mouth texture I’ve experienced in the past. The eye fillet was overcooked on the outside, although it remained pink on the inside. On the positive side, the oysters were very fresh, and the garden salad was mostly good, but the kale was too tough and hard to chew. The Moreton Bay bug was excellent — full of umami with a perfectly balanced salty-savory flavour, and the accompanying sides were also fresh and tasty. As always, the coffee and bakery items were excellent. Despite these issues, we continue to love Three Blue Ducks and return every year with our family, bringing the kids to play with the animals. It’s a wonderful experience overall.

A visit to Three Blue Ducks Byron Bay feels like stepping into a warm country farmhouse surrounded by rolling fields and friendly farm animals. By day we had brunch and by night we sipped on a perfectly balanced Charlie Chaplin cocktail before diving into a lovely spread - from local sourdough with chicken skin butter & smoked salt to polenta gnocchi, 12-hour slow-cooked brisket, and Moreton Bay bugs. The charcoal chicken was smoky and tender, while sides of skin-on chips and macaroni with butter kept even the little one happy. The lovely dishes, and the rustic setting with its own café & bakery to explore by day.

I had a late lunch on Father's Day with my mum for her 93rd birthday. Food was great, except the sauce on my steak was cold, flavours well matched. Apart from this and wine by bottle, is actually a carafe of tap wine. Sorry, not classy. Very touristy, but that's what it is, in Byron. Very relaxed setting and staff made this review as they were eager to please and a great professional service 🙄. Went back for brunch on Monday, BLT and Portuguese tart were delicious with a good coffee! Thank you xx

Absolutely amazing food. Went on purpose for the Sunday roast, totally worth it! The entrée was so delicious that we forgot to take a picture - roasted broccoli on a bed of hummus with roasted nuts and mint. The brisket was melting in our mouths with the crispy side dish of kale and potatoes just balancing the dish perfectly. The dessert was the perfect finish, with a balance of sweet and sour and combination of traditional dessert with an Australian twist (lemon myrtle curd, raspberry and merengue)

We have been here numerous times as it’s a fun day out we love dining at Three Blue Ducks. It is set on a beautiful working farm, the setting is both tranquil and inspiring—perfect for a relaxed yet refined meal. The menu is fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully sourced, showcasing local produce and sustainable farming. Every dish bursts with flavour; the wood-fired meats, fresh seafood, and vibrant vegetarian options are all standout. Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for a beautiful spot to unwind, Three Blue Ducks delivers in every way. A must-visit when in Byron!

Loved our lunch experience at this venue High quality ingredients and meal was excellent. Scallops and Morton bay bugs were our choice. So full no room for dessert. Great relaxed vibe and excellent service.

I went there on Monday around 10:30am, People already lined up for the takeaway coffee. Luckily we gonna dine in, so there heps of inside and outside seats to chose. The ingredients which is really fresh, cow milk, herbs, vegs, everything. But the crumpet is not hot at all and too sweet for Asian taste. Others than that, nothing complaint. The frams definitely with animals also picnic area for family gathering.

The menu boasts a variety of fresh salads, hearty mains, mouth-watering desserts, and smoothies, with the majority of items suitable for vegans and gluten-free options available.
Found this place while travelling on a road trip and we had an excellent time. We ate the Shepherd's Pie, the lasagna, the curry and two salads, two smoothies and they were all delicious. All whole foods and cooked with love and care! Will definitely be back.

What a fantastic find! This restaurant has such a welcoming vibe, and I loved having the choice between cozy indoor seating and pleasant outdoor tables. The menu offers an impressive variety of food and dessert options, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The staff here really made the experience special. They were so friendly and attentive. The portions are incredibly generous too, so I definitely left feeling satisfied and well fed. The location is perfect, situated right in the center of town where it's easy to find and access. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, this place delivers on all fronts.

Lovely little cafe with really quality hearty meals! We were so happy to find this place so conveniently located in our visit to Byron bay. They have a nice variety of dishes and desserts which is so refreshing after passing the same types of food repeated again and again. The staff is so helpful and kind, prices are so reasonable and portions are a nice size. Really recommend to anyone in the area. Parking is conveniently located in the back. This cafe has super friendly options for many dietary restrictions, vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, etc.. highly recommend:)

It is a unforgettable dinning experience. Sitting in the sun breezy yard or indoor. Enjoy the yummy and delicious vegan food. When I asked them to help me identify onion, garlic and leek free dishes, they addressed it carefully and responsibily. I will introduce other Asian vegan to visit this place.

Flea & Street Markets
The Byron Farmers Market, held every Thursday morning at the Butler St Reserve, offers a wide array of local delicacies including organic sourdough breads, farm cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts from the Nimbin Valley and more. The market is not only a place to shop for high-quality produce but also serves as a social event with locals gathering as early as 6:30am. However, due to high stall rents, prices can be on the higher side.
Okay - you have to come early on Thursday morning by 7am - eat breakfast from the stalls, buy brilliant local produce including cheeses, meats, seafood and honeys. There is live music to listen to on beanbags if you feel chilled. Easy to walk of cycle to. Everything is priced at a premium however you can be assured of supporting local farmers. Maybe buy enough to cook one fabulous meal if you are on a budget. My favourite are the heirloom Coopers Shoot tomatoes and Dorper Lamb. I tried a sample of the hemp oil and it was quite relaxing. Kool the Byron hula hoop busker is always here to brighten your morning. It is worth it and an authentic local experience.

A nice lady on the street told us about the market. We didn’t know what to do and were just wandering around. Thanks to her, we didn’t miss this amazing market. I loved the vibrant atmosphere and the hippie vibe. The food was amazing — we had a burger and dumplings. People were so nice and friendly. I’m happy we got to visit this market on our last day in Byron Bay.

WOODS Bangalow is an exceptional establishment with remarkable cuisine, atmosphere, and staff. The quality of their food and the innovative brunch offerings are truly outstanding. Whether it's the spacious arrangement of tables that allows parents to unwind or the delectable Campbell Scramble and tacos that leave you satisfied, every aspect contributes to making this place extraordinary. The warm and attentive employees further enhance the experience.
One of the best cafes I’ve been to in a long time anywhere in Australia and definitely the best in the Byron Shire. Charming setting amidst a bunch of “hipster sheds” and courtyards with plenty of outdoor seating - perfect for the winter sunshine. Service is friendly and full of positive vibes. Menu is creative and very interesting with lots of eclectic options and specials. All of the breakfast egg dishes were delicious and bursting with flavour and perfectly seasoned. The homemade cakes were also amazing, including the white chocolate matcha tea cake and the peanut butter and fudge brownie. Looking forward to coming back many more times whenever I’m passing through the Shire.

Bangalow is such a trendy place….just don’t visit during school holiday periods. This cafe is part of a complex that includes arts and crafts shops . The chairs and tables are little rickety and you have to line up and order. Food is delivered to the table. The food choices are vegan and healthy. No, I am not vegan but sometimes I enjoy putting food into my body I know is good for me. My plate of food was also extremely colourful!

We loved Woods Bangalow. We sat on the verandah enjoying the breeze, great coffee and a Cubano. We can hardly wait to come back to work our way through the entire menu.
Char W — Google review
The area and staff are nice but for $33 this is not worth it. As a local, it’s frustrating to see another tourist trap in bangalow. Looks lovely but nothing on the menu is suited for takeaway. I was given this meal with no cutlery or napkins. Soggy bread after walking 2 minutes away to eat it. Around $4 extra for an egg. I’ll stick to cafes on the main street unless prices are reduced. Best of luck.
Mason B — Google review
While many tourists will grab a cuppa in the Main Street of Bangalow, those looking for something a bit more eclectic will venture down a side street to The Lumber Yard complex. Woods is nestled up the back with plenty of seating under cover. Service is friendly and attentive, coffee has grunt and the gf muffin is a meal in itself. Stay away if you can’t stand the sight of lots of happy punters! If you walk across the road to the show grounds, you may be lucky to see some working equitation in progress.
Jez A — Google review
We stopped by WOODS in July for a cosy brunch and it was such a lovely experience. Sat at a little table tucked under greenery, with a nice warm sun glow coming through. We had the full breakfast with salmon, eggs, avocado and veggies and also tried their burger, which was one of the best I’ve had in Australia. The mango coconut smoothie was spot-on, and the cold brew coffee with coconut milk was really nice. It’s definitely on the trendy (and pricey) side, but the vibe is worth it. Cute, stylish, and one of the coolest spots in Bangalow. After brunch we wandered over to the nearby record store and craft shops, which was a nice experience and our first time poking around that part of Bangalow. A charming find and highly recommended if you’re passing through town. My Instagram: @BenCanTravel My Youtube: @BenCanTravel

My sister and I were exploring Bangalow as part of a weekend away. We chanced upon Woods down a side street tucked in amongst some lovely art cabins. We shared a fabulous pastrami and cheese focaccia and had drinks. The place was relaxed, peaceful and just perfect for two road weary tourists wanting something other than cakes or fried food. I managed to accidentally leave there some small gifts I had bought as presents and didn't realise until we had both driven 3 hours north. After a few emails the lovely team at Woods kindly posted them home to me- back in the UK! I couldn't ask for better and kinder service and thank you for finding what are now the most well travelled tea towels I own!

Fel's Kitchen is a modern open-fronted diner serving healthy food from its display counter. The cafe also offers coffee, great selection of salads and hot pies. The service is always friendly and helpful.
There are a few genuine Byron Bay establishments that embody the essence of Byron. If you've lunched in Byron, you'll know what I mean. For everyone else, what I'm trying to say is, this establishment is faithfully Byron spirited without being too "earthy" or too "toffee"! Excellent simple food of very high quality served with manners and pleasantries. It's not the cheapest nor most expensive, but excellent value for money.
Trevor H — Google review
The food is alright: not extremely tasty but not bad either. Yet it’s quite overpriced imho. If I spend $20 on a salad I tend to expect to be full at least. I wished the 2 salads weren’t mixed that way and I felt there was barely any tofu. It would have still been all okay if it wasn’t for the owner’s rudeness :( I thought she just had a bad day but then went back and apparently she has that attitude always, not nice at all. I wouldn’t go back nor recommend tbh
Serena M — Google review
Went there based on colleagues’ recommendations. The salad was okay, but I ordered salmon on the side, and it was cold, I would have preferred it to be served warm. The lady at the counter was very unfriendly. She barely smiled, and it felt like a “pay and move on” attitude. After reading other reviews, I realized that’s just how she is. Neither the food nor the service was good, so it was my first and last visit.

Louisa M — Google review
If I lived in Byron I would have my kitchen removed at home and eat here every day. Hands down the best tasting and healthiest food in town. Nothing else comes close. And to the few naysayers here saying Fel isn't friendly... she's out there putting in the hard yards to feed us like no one else. If you would rather have a performing hospitality monkey every day of the week instead of nourishing foods maybe try Hooters instead.

We were looking for a place that had a peaceful welcoming vibe with exceptional fresh food/coffee/smoothies for a birthday breakfast. We found all of this and more at Fel's Kitchen. As we said to the owners, we struck gold walking around Byron looking for the perfect place, Fel's was not familiar to us, but I will ensure every single time I visit from Brisbane that I visit Fel's and the rest of the group I was with are Northern NSW locals, they will become Fel's regulars. The food was spectacular, so fresh and the taste of the meals, out of this world. Best coffee I have ever had and the smoothies, oh my god the smoothies were incredible. We entered Fel's as strangers to the owners/staff and left feeling like we were long time regulars, loved the entire experience. I encourage everyone to gift themselves with the Fel's experience.

Subway is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering healthy options for customers. Customers can build their own subs with a variety of fillings and toppings. The store's attention to detail ensures an even spread of fillings in every sandwich, providing a satisfying experience for customers whether dining in or ordering through delivery services like UberEats.
My partner and I went into Byron Bay Subway for lunch today and got served by Bella who was the most professional lovely worker! It was quite busy but she handled everything so smoothly and still had time to give a smile. You could see that she really knew what she was doing and we had a great lunch there. Thanks so much!

Subway is usually my favorite fast food, but this one made me want to walk out as quickly as I walked in! The floor was dirty (ok, that can happen because of customers), but the counters and cutting boards were covered in sauce, and the lettuce looked cooked. I could understand if this happened during a rush, but the place was empty, no customers, and the staff were in the back while all the food was sitting out in the open. How long had it been there? I don’t blame the employees, two very young women (probably teenagers, and it’s great they’re working at that age!) but where are the managers? Shouldn’t there be adults supervising when people are preparing food? The sandwich I got was poorly made and honestly unappetizing. Overall, I was really disappointed, and I think Subway should definitely do some quality control checks on both their food and hygiene standards at this location.

Possibly the worst Subway in the southern hemisphere if not the world. Never has any stock, Never honors the specials that it advertises in the shop, Doesn't open to the opening times and at times doesn't accept cash and the servers are completely hit and miss sometimes good and other times absolutely hopeless. Avoid it like the plague.

Can't believe I'm at the point of leaving a review for a Subway, but here we are. Came for lunch and were turned away (rudely) with a "back in an hour". No explanation. Just a filthy attitude. Noting again, this place closed for an hour. At lunchtime. On a Saturday. Absolutely atrocious. Reading all the other reviews, seems this is common. Management clearly doesn't care. Hopefully someone who was intending giving this toilet of a store some money will read this and go somewhere else.

Whether you need a quick takeaway, a place to study, or a spot for a coffee date, this cafe has it all.
My husband and I visited Byron Bay for a short break. We discovered Wide Open Road located slightly off the main drag. The coffee is the best we’ve had in Byron. This place is a must to visit. The food menu is scrumptious. We had chilli scrambled eggs and a haloumi toastie mid morning. The vibe in this cafe is layback and trendy. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. This is a fab place to hang out.

OVERPRICED - AVOID : had the gruyere omelette toast and juice. $23 for a tiny piece of bred and eggs left us hungry, and the $7 juice was bottled not fresh. I understand staff and rentals are expensive but there is no justification for this. We are really disappointed. Not coming back and definitely not recommending this venue. The place looks good but tables were dirty too.

Came here for an afternoon coffee pick-me-up. Loved the welcoming and warm decor. The staff were really friendly and helpful and made a batch brew for especially for us. We were keen to take some beans home but unfortunately caught them on a restock day so only had a few options. We still took Shady Lane and Yoshimi home. The Ethiopian batch brew was juicy, bright, medium body and well rounded. We’ll be back 🤎

Elements of Byron is a luxurious beachfront resort that offers a variety of activities for both kids and adults. The resort features a parkour-inspired playground, a 'fairy trail,' family-friendly hikes, and outdoor games. For adults, there's an onsite spa and an exclusive adults-only pool in addition to the family-friendly pool. Accommodation options range from well-furnished studios to two-bedroom villas, while the Azure Bar & Grill caters to all guests.
Pure bliss…. Everything about Elements was wonderful. The low rise, luxurious eco friendly villas are beautiful. From much of the resort you can hear the waves. The gardens and surrounding bush including walking trails are full of life. Elements really has a special location - the estuary, bush and ocean. Our meals were fabulous. We loved the adults pool - warmer than the main meal so we could swim in September. We will definitely be back….

We had the most incredible stay at Elements of Byron. Our beach villa was absolutely stunning waking up to views of the ocean from our room was just magical. The property itself is breathtaking, with so much space and beautiful wildlife all around, making it feel both private and special. The pool areas were fantastic, especially the adults only pool which had such a cool, chilled out vibe (though it did get busy, which just added to the atmosphere). The swim-up bar was a highlight the food there was top-notch! The buffet breakfast was another standout. We loved the variety and the thoughtful touch of bite sized pastries, which meant no waste and the chance to try everything. The spa experience was truly divine beautifully designed, calming, and incredibly relaxing. The only downside for us was the food at Azure Restaurant. For the price point, it felt pretty average compared to everything else at the resort. Overall though, our stay was unforgettable. Elements is such a unique place that balances luxury with nature, and we can’t wait to come back next time with the kids to enjoy it all over again

Beautiful location surrounded by three unique ecosystems — such a special setting. Great facilities with a gym, restaurant, poolside bar, tennis court, and lovely bushwalks. It feels like living in nature! The main pool is stunning, and the adults-only pool is peaceful with its own bar. Rooms look small from the outside but are very spacious. I’d heard it was once more for couples, but it now caters really well for families and kids too. Only a short drive from Byron town — highly recommend!

Beautiful place that is well maintained within a stunning environment. Our timing was perfect as it was sunny (around 23 degrees most days) without the resort being at full capacity most of our stay, so not to frenetic in the pool area etc. The main pool is on the fresh side, so be warned that it can take some adjustment. The pool itself is absolutely stunning. Pool service and menu is brilliant. Awesome menu for kids (kids toasted sandwiches, chips, milkshakes etc) and brilliant options for adults as well, with terrific cocktails and tap beer etc. Breakfast buffet and setting is also first class. The guys at the omelette station do a wonderful job. Coffee is also very good. The machine that makes pancakes is also very amusing and a hit with the kids. Local restaurants are also world class. We visited a bunch of places for dinner including The Loft, Pixies, Tokyo Doll, Harry’s and Ember. All amazing places but we rated Tokyo Doll the highest as it was a bit more chilled but food was still absolutely amazing. Harry’s was also incredible with a super chilled environment and wonderful food. Honestly, very hard to fault this place (Elements or Byron Bay) and we loved our first visit. We usually visit Noosa but decided to give Byron Bay a trial. I guess we did get lucky with timing (however) as the staff mentioned it was going to get crazy as soon as we left, as NSW school holidays had just commenced.
Andrew F — Google review
This is definitely a place where you can relax knowing that the service will always be excellent and there’s nothing you need to do. We had a wonderful week and the food, drink drinks, and rooms were all excellent. The staff are always very happy and will drive you around in carts Although the walks are also lovely. I think it’s a great place for families with young kids, but we also had teenagers with us and they seemed pretty happy too. The kitchenettes are reasonable, although there’s no Oven, so I think if I came again, I would collect more food and cater back at the villa a bit more. It’s also easy to get into Byron Bay Centre via the solar train during the day or Uber. That makes this a great location I think for staying in Byron Bay. We did yoga a couple of times. It’s in a great location looking straight at the ocean and watching the sunrise. We saw whales and dolphins from this location. The only thing would be for any regular yoga people, it’s a pretty basic and relaxing style with not a lot of heavy work.

Yanik in particular was very friendly, kind and supportive throughout my whole stay in Aquarius. He was always happy to answer any questions I had. The only thing is that the room could have been slightly cleaner. Below my bed was quite a lot of dust and bits of litter. However, it was still comfortable, I had a good sleep there, and everything else was fine!

Perfect place to stay in Byron Bay. It's ideally located, close to the sea and all amenities, and the lighthouse is within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, clean, the beds comfy, and the kitchen will do even if it stays simple. There's also a fitness area and a swimming pool which was under construction at the time of my stay. Big shout out to the staff who are the friendliest and easiest to deal with, when I encountered some issues with my booking they fixed it the same day and also offered a refund if I preferred to book somewhere else. Amazing service, needless to say I'll book again if I get a chance.

Such a great hostel! Warm and welcoming, with a cool vibe. So many fun and interesting people to meet. There are social events every day you can get involved in. The team working there are kind and happy to help. Shout out to Yanni, who would always go above and beyond to help you out 🩷💛

0/5 Age specific unless you can afford a private room. Yes it's a hostel. Yes I'm 42. Was advised that it's a hostel for people under 35 for dorm rooms. So if you're on a budget and you wanted to be treated as an equal. This is not the place to stay.

Honestly, one of the cleanest and most spacious hostels I’ve stayed in. Loved the rooftop gym and the morning yoga class was such a nice touch! and all the free activities you can join. The big kitchen is super well-organised, and even the 10-bed female dorm was spotless. Also , you get 15% off at the restaurant bar next door. Yanni at the front desk was super lovely and helpful. If I’m back in Byron Bay, there’s no question-I’m staying here again😆

Nestled conveniently on the route from Sydney to Brisbane, Twisted Sista Cafe is a delightful stop for travelers seeking a cozy retreat. My friend and I popped in around 8:00-9:00 AM, hoping to recharge with some coffee and breakfast. To our surprise, the coffee exceeded our expectations! The real gem of this cafe is its warm and welcoming staff who truly enhance the experience with their friendly demeanor.
Was visiting from Brisbane. Perfect spot for breakfast. Had bacon and eggs and was awesome. Great service and with a smile. Highly recommended.

Recently had an amazing brekkie here; the granola was the best I’ve had & the coffee hit the spot perfectly! My latte was smooth & creamy & perfectly brewed. Would definitely recommend & look forward to going back. If I was a local it would definitely be my go-to coffee spot!

Probably not a repeat customer. I had my reuse cup but was sitting down to eat breakfast, everyone’s drinks were in glasses. Since I was sitting down to eat in and already assessed they used glasses, I did not provide my cup. They brought my coffee in single use plastic, which is frustrating as I make a point to not have coffee unless it’s in a reusable cup. They seem stressed and not so friendly behind the counter, but man running food was very friendly. The omelette and coffee was nothing to write home about in the end, the bread sitting on top of the omelette was strange in my opinion and the omelette was not a great texture and sort of just dry and lacking flavor, the bacon on it was a strange texture/taste also. It was edible.

We loved this place! The food was really good with generous servings and delicious. The coffee was perfect, the bread on the toasties was really good and the muffin was as big as your head! Highly recommended!

The coffee was good , not top tier but it hit the spot. I got a dirty Chai with a double shot (double shot is default in NZ but not in aus apparently) with my coffee I had the bacon eggs Benedict. They were generous with the bread and proteins but very light on the sauce, the way they double stacked the bread was a bit weird tho. Overall it’s pretty good value, it’s like $23 for a meal but consistency might be a bit off here. One eggs Benny was perfect and runny with plenty of hollandaise while the other was cooked through without much sauce. It’s a pretty good cafe though I like the vibe so I would recommend. P.s Please fix the wobbly table

During our trip from Sydney to Brisbane, my friend and I decided to make a pit stop at this charming café around 8:00-9:00 AM in the morning. Our intention was to take a breather, savor a cup of coffee, and indulge in a hearty breakfast. I held modest expectations for the coffee, but to my surprise, I found it quite satisfying. The real highlight, however, was the friendly and kind staff member who took our order. Their warm hospitality added a pleasant touch to our visit. The café offers the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We opted for the indoor option, considering the time of year. The ambiance inside was cozy and inviting, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable experience. While the breakfast turned out to be average, I must admit that the café's redeeming quality lies in its commendable coffee offerings. As I reflect on the overall experience, I consider this café a worthy option, perhaps more suitable for an occasional visit. It's difficult to predict whether I would return, but if I find myself in the area again, the allure of a good latte might just be enough to draw me back.

Really cute little cafe. Very relaxed and cozy vibe. Simple menu but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the food. The turkey panini was really tasty and enjoyable. Also had a good range of cakes and sweets. Didn’t have a coffee but can confirm that the smoothies are also rather delish. My only criticism was that the staff member that served us appeared a little annoyed and was therefore a little rude when we were ordering. Otherwise great place to eat when youre feeling something a little more light hearted.

Soul Kitchen Cafe is a fantastic cafe located in Wategos Beach. The cafe is run by friendly and efficient staff, who are always very busy since there are no other shops nearby. The cafe offers delicious food that includes ham and cheese toasties, as well as yummy brownies and raspberry/coconut muffins. Definitely check out Soul Kitchen Cafe if you're looking for a great post-surf coffee or hot chocolate!
Came across this kiosk outside Raes at Wategos Beach during a run from central Byron up and around the lighthouse and surrounds. The two gentlemen served with a smile and good humour and i enjoyed the friendly banter they had with some locals. My coffee and muffin were just the thing and there are outdoor picnic tables to sit and enjoy the scenery while you drink your coffee.

My favourite coffee spot in Byron! The brew here is top-tier—St Ali beans done right, every time. Nothing beats sipping a fresh coffee while watching dolphins and whales in winter. Michael, the owner, always brings a laugh, and the whole team is warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. I’ll definitely be back—keep it up, legends!

Convenient location and good coffee. They make a strong and flavourful espresso. Pretty decent but not award winning. Unfortunately, there is an atmosphere of ‘you should be grateful I’m making you a coffee’. Given the location and popularity of the beach, the cafe will probably still make money but I’ll be getting my coffee elsewhere next time.

We walked past a few times over a few days and saw this place was always packed and wanted to see why. It has an awesome atmosphere and they are making everything fresh in house. Our breakfast consisted of some pastries, sausage roll and coffees which we all fantastic. Will be back next time we are in Byron.

This place is a real coffee gem. I had a flat white — honestly the best I’ve had anywhere in Australia. The ham and cheese croissant was also great, with a perfect balance of crispiness and gooey cheese. It was such a lovely way to start my day — I left feeling happy and satisfied.

A local must do for lunch! Excellent toasted ham and cheese croissant and cinnamon roll. It is those kind of big "Lune" croissants that have gained popularity in Australia
Ralf P — Google review
We visited Sunday Sustainable Bakery and really liked the place! They have plenty of pastry and roll options, and the coffee was great, great, great! Watching the barista work so calmly and perfectly actually made us order a second coffee ☕️ The only downside for us was that the young staff didn’t seem in the best mood, they didn’t even ask if we wanted our sandwiches toasted and served us in a rush. I know it can be hot and it was close to lunch time, so maybe they were already tired. They weren’t rude, just didn’t seem in the mood. Also, the cups for water were a bit gross, which was awful. We know sometimes things come out of the dishwasher like that, but it’s always good to double-check before putting them out for customers. Overall though, friendly vibe, tasty food, and amazing coffee!

Just awesome baked goods and great breakfast meals. The pastries were out of this world! The pistachio cinnamon bun was delicious, with the pistachio being a nice addition without overpowering it. The hazelnut chocolate pastry was something that could have come straight out of one of my dreams, crispy on the outside with a gooey chocolaty goodness in the middle (highly recommend this if you like the chocolate hazelnut combination). We then had the avo smash (which came on a warm toasted bread with a lovely selection of seeds sprinkled on top) and the bacon and egg sandwich (mentioned to be amazing). Great coffee and great food, filled with locals from early on in the morning. If you are looking for a great breakfast in byron, I would recommend this as one of my favourites.

Leaf & Grain is a health food cafe located near Bayleaf Cafe, both owned by the same people. The cafe offers quick and healthy food options, in contrast to the traditional sit-down style of Bayleaf. Despite its small size and proximity to a well-known establishment, Leaf & Grain surprises visitors with its high-quality, authentic food. My wife and I were staying just down the street at Byron Bay Hotel and Apartments. Leaf and Grain coffee shop is only a block away. The coffee was very good - we had 2 flat whites. There are a lot of yummy pastries available too although I was trying to cut down on the sweets - too bad for me. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A good choice to start the day!

Fairly quaint little cafe with an organic-like presentation. I've only tried the coffee here, and it is very good albeit slightly above market price. There is also limited amounts of fresh bread, but I have not confirmed where this has been baked. Seating is on stools only, and large groups would not be catered for as the cafe occupies a limited area.

What a place! I came by this unsuspecting place a bit by accident. I'm not really into the organic kale super salad that I had judged this place for. Honestly, I wasn't sure what they could offer me I could find some place else. Leaf & Grain is not huge, there aren't a great deal of seats, and the place next door is well known. What I was surprised by was the quality of food produced and the raw authenticity it seems to be made with. The people that work there have a passion for food that magically translates into taste. I went for the bacon and egg roll. It was on the top of their blackboard and promised things I've never tried -- maple bacon, beetroot relish. What a treat! The food is served in unpretentious take-away boxes that matches the nonchalant vibe of the place. It's just raw and authentic, the Byron way. The coffee is also decent. It's worth popping in and trying their food. Small, intimate, just don't take your whole family because they probably won't all fit.

Boutique cafe, really nice fresh salads, awesome locally sourced coffees and in-house made juices as well as kombucha. The owners are a lovely young couple who enjoy talking to their customers. I worked at their barista a short while and it was a sweet place to work. Out door seating available, nice and casual.

I ordered a decaf coffee with my breakfast, it tasted disgusting like drinking vinegar, so did not have it, I had my sister taste it too and she couldn't have it either, although her filtered coffee was actually nice. I told the cashier at the end that the decaf coffee was really bad and sour and the only thing I received was a look in my eyes and a hmmm!!! No apologies, didn't try to change the coffee or anything else, I think they were actually upset I was letting them know! However the homemade vegemite was really nice and liked the avo and poached egg.

Thought this would be good for brekky and dog friendly while on holiday in Byron Bay. You have to order food and collect it from the counter. I sat outside with hubby and our dog, only squat stools and short table available, not meal friendly. A poor choice for us when bringing a dog. Sadly food was not good. Hubby's ham & cheese croissant like rubber, my vegan wrap average, herbal tea lacked flavour as weak served in largish cardboard cup. Food here eaten indoors or other choices may be good, but our experience was not quality or worth the money.

Great Oyster, food and cocktails in town. Service was excellent. We walk in for the dinner on our first day in Byron Bay, it was pretty good so we decided to come again another day. I like we can choose the different sauces on the oysters, its a fun Prawn ravioli, cuttlefish and market fish all cook well.

This place does the best oysters in Byron! We came here for lunch a few weeks ago and shared the most delicious fresh oysters, a glass (or two!) of bubbly, a juicy steak sandwich, and a super fresh salad with grilled prawns. Everything was absolutely spot on. They’ve got a whole oyster menu too! The choices are so unique and creative—we were impressed:) I wish they were in Brisbane so we could go all the time! It’s part of the Marvell Street Hotel, with both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can soak up the sun or get cosy inside. Such a nice spot for a tasty bite and a drink. The service was great too—friendly, relaxed, and efficient. We’ll definitely be coming back for more oysters!

Very impressive venue. We stayed in Hotel Marvel so breakfast was included. Quality breakfast and nice service. The restaurant offers $3 Oysters 5pm-6pm daily. They are small however dressings, cheese etc are well worth it. We ate here twice for dinner on our stay. We were served by a waitress (Jesmond i think) with banter and passion. I usally don't like to go to the same place but couldn't resist. The first time we ate a seafood platter. Favourite dishes were the lobster roll and swordfish. The roll was juicy and full of flavour. The swordfish was cooked to perfection. The second dinning session we ate Oysters (of course), truffle pasta and steak. The pasta was Al Dante with a hearty sauce. The steak was cooked medium rare all the way through the thick steak. Well done to the chefos. I would come again and try the 1.3kg.

Excellent experience! Our family had breakfast here, and we loved it. The environment is really cozy, and the food is great. They serve REAL green tea (not from a tea bag) and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The staff is super friendly. This place definitely deserves more attention!

What a stunning dining experience! We stumbled across this gem and are so glad we gave it a try. The star of the night had to be the oysters. Every flavour we tried was perfectly balanced, the oysters were plump with the perfect amount of brine and creaminess. The selection of raw and cold dishes were also excellent. The seafood was fresh and the dishes were brilliantly balanced. Another must have would be the prawns and the octopus! The atmosphere was moody yet warm and the music brought great ambience whilst not being too loud. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful with their suggestions and recommendations. There were very little downsides but I would be wary that this is a slow dining experience… sometimes too slow. The spacing between the oysters and entrée were perfect, however we wait for our main and the bill was a too long. The frites were also under salted and a touch under cooked. Saying that these complaints are quite nitpicky and would not dissuade me from recommending this restaurant at all. If you love seafood and especially a large and delicious selection of oysters than this is a must try!

A very enjoyable meal at this relatively new eatery. The food was very, very well curated. Portions were similar to fine dining and the menu is designed for 'sharing' - basically, a tasty morsel each. We ordered 8 dishes between 4 people, a bottle of bubbly and tea to finish. The helpful waitress had recommended 10-12 dishes for a table of 4 people. Overall, recommended and will visit again should the stars align.

If you're a coffee lover visiting Byron Bay, Bun Coffee is an essential stop on your journey. Nestled just off Ewingsdale Road, this charming spot boasts a vibrant display of colorful coffee bean bags that immediately catch the eye. The artisanal roasters behind Bun Coffee are true experts in their craft, offering an impressive selection of up to six single-origin and specialty coffees alongside various standard blends. Each cup showcases exceptional flavor profiles and quality that will delight even the most discerning palates.
Byron Bay is a far away place for me where I live in Australia, so I bought some of their coffees online. As a coffee enthusiast who loves to always experiment with different things, I've tried many coffee beans and online coffee retailers and BunCoffee has got to be my favourite so far. I've tried 4 different kinds of their coffee with all of them being fantastic (really love their liberica and low-caf 100% aussie grown beans). I also like their new website and always appreciate having the filters there (easy to get lost in their massive selection of global coffees). If I could make one suggestion, though, it would be to add acidity/bitterness/sweetness options in the filter bar. Anyways, I don't often take the time to write rewiews unless I find the buisness to be particularly outstanding or particularly poor and BunCoffee is partiularly outstanding. Would certainly be ordering more coffee from them next time and I wish I could try them all, haha! Cheers,☕ Caitlin

I've been buying whole beans from Bun Coffee for years now. Their coffee is consistently awesome, I love grinding as much as I need for a week and slowly sipping a cup every morning. Something else that is a highlight is the customer service when I buy my beans. Always friendly and interested in a quick connect. With my connections to ProCat (an organisation devoted to establishing healthy relationships between coffee growers in South America and Jaguars), I had several interactions with the management at Bun Coffee and felt warmly heard and seen. All in all, over the years, Bun Coffee has been one of those family businesses that deserve all the loyalty and consistent patronage they receive from me and many others in the Byron Shire.

I’m literally a coffee nerd. The quality of their coffee is top notch. At the time of this review they have up to six single origin /specialty coffees as well as multiple standard blends all available for a cup or a bag. Pricing for your drink is exactly the same as everywhere in the area and the quality is super high. Bags of coffee are cheaper here than woollies and of course straight from the source. Thank you for being such a staple in my Byron experience.

I'm a customer of 3 years. Dropped in to your Ballina factory unit to buy 2kg of beans. Walked across to the wide open barn doors facing into their car park, and was met by an obviously irritated woman (advised it was the owner) who asked if she could help me, to which I offered, I was just having a look at the new roasting equipment. Her miserable tone continued with "I'd rather you didn't" and proceeded to start closing the doors in my face, as though I was about to uncover the formula for nuclear fission. Fortunately AI listed a plethora of potentially more worthy businesses that roast coffee beans in the Byron region. Time to give it away when you face your clients with such disdain.

While a welcome convenience the undercover parking is appallingly mismanaged. Watch for the barcode readers that can't read your e- or paper receipts. The man didn’t want to make so I went out but after a few minutes he was making a coffee to a lady, I guess she was a regular costumer but still… Anyways, the food is good, so I recommend it.

Had a snickers-style smoothie here and it was delicious. The staff were really friendly and we didn’t have to wait for long.
Bethany G — Google review
The staff is very kind! All the smoothies have the same ingredients combined in different ways, and the option of making it protein. The also sell pies from other shop which are an excellent option
Julieta C — Google review
Although the smoothies are generally great, yesterday was really sub-par. Sure, I’m the muppet that will fork over $17 for a smoothie when I visit Byron, but I was handed a WARM banana based smoothie, with add-ins like collagen etc. When I asked the person if they realised it was warm (not even room temp) they replied “well the banana wasn’t frozen”, like a warm smoothie from a smoothie bar is just fine. No apology or even an offer to put ice in it? I had to inconvenience the person serving me by asking for another one… with ice. Because the banana was warm. So..if you’d love to try expensive banana soup and a dash of attitude then Tuesday’s are your lucky day!! Disappointed guys. I was so looking forward to it. Please do better.

I have to consume vegan protein due to allergies and there are some rogue blends out there that either have bad texture or weird tastes or they dont mix. Bare Blends Vegan proteins are the BOMB! They are extremely delicious and so versatile i love overnight oats with a big scoop of the vanilla and coconut. The flavour is creamy and not overly sweet. There is nothing overpowering about these vegan blends they compliment everything i use it in. Whether cooking making cakes or protein pancakes. The recipes that are on the website are also delicious. This is my favourite protein by far. Also the service from the team is delightful with quick postage and the stainless bottle that i have gotten on a wicked promo is so awesome for hot or cold drinks. Love love love.

Will not go anywhere else for super food supplements. I came across this little gem when we went to Byron last December. Bought two bags of WPI, two smoothies and a tea flask, loved them. Last week, they were doing the promo so I placed an order so that I can get another bare flask free of charge. I spoke to Emily to see if they can sell me a spare lid for the flask I bought last December as there was a small crack on the bamboo. Emily was happy to offer me a free one, really appreciated!! Fast delivery, the items were dispatched the next day and I received a notification from Australian Post it was due to deliver yesterday. Unfortunately my PARCEL WAS LOST. I was trying to deal with Australian Post but only was told to call the police. Totally disappointed, I spoke to Emily again with the hope the delivery was insured. This is what I call exceptional service. Bare Blends will re send my order ALONG WITH THE FLASK AND ANOTHER BARE FLASK LID. I can't thank enough. It has certainly turned a very bad experience from Australian Post to an exceptionally positive experience. As I said, I will not go anywhere else to shop super food supplements.

Absolutely loveeee Bare Blends. Living in Europe, i get the protein powder shipped and always have delivered on time! Price is good considering shipping fees and you can't beat the quality! love the promo video too

Friendly staff and good coffee. They make a strong, flavourful but not bitter espresso. Good banter and friendly vibe.

Wow, so glad we are only 400 meters from this incredible coffee trailer. Some of the most beautiful coffee I’ve had, delicious sourdough crumpets and the people were so lovely, friendly, happy and you could tell very passionate about their product. The crew running this coffee trailer do an amazing job banging out great food and delicious coffee. I will be going back again and again while we are in Byron 👍

What a cool little spot for a coffee. Love it. So friendly and they make amazing coffees. This is what Byron vibe is all about.

This cool canavan set up was my best find in Byron Bay - for coffee and service both top quality. Close to the beach - just get your coffee and short stroll to the beach. (prefect ) Honestly, if you like a good coffee … go here ( right on the old rail line near servo, pretty much in the heart of Byron ) enjoy ☕️☕️☕️☕️❤️❤️❤️

Best coffee in Byron! Great little spot to sit and chill in the morning to arvo. Right on the edge of town and prime location! Lovely friendly staff who make exceptional coffee and food 😍

Honestly the BEST coffee in town! The smoothest and tastiest coffee.

42The Hum

Cafe
The Hum in Byron offers a variety of dishes, including the brisket burger and Casita Salad. While the burger was decent, some found it lacking without an egg. On the other hand, the salad was fresh and bursting with flavors and textures. The beachfront location adds to its charm, with friendly staff and good coffee. However, some felt that the portion sizes didn't quite justify the prices. Despite this, many enjoyed the delicious and healthy food options as well as beautifully presented dishes.
The hum is absolutely an oasis! Their coffee is of highest standards, met with quick and friendly service and scrumptious dishes. We enjoyed their Cuppachinos, Iced Latte’s, BLEAT sandwiches, Açai Bowls and and open toasties. They thoroughly impressed us! Thank you for a great experience, The Hub, and Camille who served.
Ludwig E — Google review
Incredible food! So many healthy and delicious healthy coeliac safe gluten free options. Service was okay - not the friendliest, but the food was amazing and the price is reasonable.
Em — Google review
The Hum is perfectly located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering stunning ocean views and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. They serve Supreme coffee beans—some of my personal favourites—and the menu is full of healthy, satisfying options. Portion sizes are generous, so you’re definitely getting great value for money. It’s become a go-to spot for me, and the friendly, attentive staff make every visit even better!
Casey S — Google review
We had a great lunch at The Hum - the Purple Haze smoothie and the BLEAT sandwiches were delicious. One of the best ones I have had in a while! Very much recommend trying out this restaurant and we hope to go back soon!
Coline S — Google review
The buckwheat pancakes were inedible. Very dense, heavy, and more like bread than pancakes. I paid an extra $6 for bacon but received only a tiny portion that tasted like cardboard. Not worth the $30 spent.
Ebony K — Google review
We got the spicy cado toast, shakshuka eggs and the og açai bowl! Everything was so amazing and flavoursome, service was super friendly, we didn’t feel overly comfortable with how the eggs were cooked but there was no issues in getting them more well done! Absolutely love it!
Joley S — Google review
We had breakfast a couple of time at The hum and it was amazing!! Food is sooo tasty and with a super cute presentation. Is a pleasure to eat close to the sea looking to an amazing view ❤️ Malena, the waitress is a lovely person Will go again 🫶
Valentina C — Google review
For $13, the ham & cheese toasty was disappointing: just a single slice of ham and some dry cheese. It needs more generosity and a bit more love in the preparation

Le Petit Brekkie is a delightful breakfast delivery service that brings the luxury of a French patisserie right to your doorstep. Whether it's for a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday, or simply to elevate your weekend getaway, this quaint little service offers high-quality produce and delicious pastries. The Farmhouse Box comes with a bottle of bubbles, making it the perfect accompaniment for a luxurious morning.
Le Petit Brekkie, be still my beating heart!! When we ordered this quaint little 'breakfast in bed' service on a recent trip to Byron - little did we know the quality and flavours of the produce would be so good! The pastries were delish; I added on some beautiful flowers for my wife (our anniversary 😉 ); but the real winner was the bottle of bubbles we ordered with our Farmhouse Box! This gorgeous little parcel was the perfect accompaniment to our weekend away. Thanks LPB!!
Tim M — Google review
Le Petit Brekkie totally nailed it!! With a fresh French patisserie breakfast delivered to my Dad for his birthday, he was over the moon. Great gift idea. Who doesn’t love an edible surprise gift?! Absolutely recommend :)

Such a simple thing as breakfast delivered made our morning feel wonderfully luxurious. The box was full of incredible local treats – everything was delicious. It was so easy to place our order, will definitely be doing it again.
