Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Main Street Burger Bar is a popular spot in Byron Bay, known for its laid-back atmosphere and delicious burgers. Whether you're craving old-school beef or chicken burgers, roasted mushroom options, or plant-based schnitzel, this place has got you covered. Pair your burger with chunky chips, fried chicken wings, or a frosty milkshake for the perfect meal after a day at the beach.
Amazing burgers, don't be afraid of the pineapple one, just try it! The service was great too, definitely the best burger place in Byron!
Rodra G — Google review
We went here on a monday afternoon after a big night on the town and this place saved us! delicious beef and vegan burgers. The chips were a bit salty but they kept our water topped up so our thirst was quenched. Good value, location, and yummy (free ketchup too)
Lb — Google review
Burger were both great! Fries were also nice. Not enough dipping sauce, Prices are all in all good!
Florian C — Google review
Yum the burgers were A++!! Mushroom burger was 🤤 beef patties on the kids and hubbies was a decent and solid juicey patty. Sweet potato fries were soooooo good as were the potato fries... I would have put 1 star down for the really really bad procecco but the burgers were too good 😂 vibe was cool and laid back with a pool table and good tunes and attentive staff.

Edit: one of the owners, the lad who responded below, reached out and the concern and customer service after was excellent. They clearly care and were concerned about my experience. I feel perhaps they had a bad day, as we all do from time to time. I'll give it another go. This burger cost me $22 Quite possibly the driest I've ever had. Meant to have chipotle aioli, however you can see, or not see, how much they put on. Meat patties were like hockey pucks. Over cooked and definitely not made here. Service was average. I think they have a new lad on though. Didn't get asked if we wanted drinks so I sorted that out at the front, then at the bar, only to be told it's table service... I'm not sure what was going on there. The kids burgers, for $12 were the same. Dry and awful. Neither kid wanted to finish theirs. The kids said the chips were good. I don't review chips as it's like reviewing McCain frozen fries. In saying that, I feel like I've just reviewed a frozen meat patty Definitely will not be returning $95 for 1 adult and two kids
Daniel E — Google review
Unfortunately we thought the food was pretty average! Classic beef burger tasted very cheap, something you’d buy at a fairground. Halloumi burger was better, but wasn’t full of flavour. Burger buns were average. At least the chips were good! Spent $50+ and was unsatisfied. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is great.
Ruth B — Google review
Ordered the Nashville burger that would not stay in the bun. The maple wings were in a watery sauce. Kids meal. Wow, $13 for a small burger no fries. Add fries and comes to $19. Cold beer was the winner here. Must add - service was good.
Maria K — Google review
Second time coming here was just as happy as the first time. Overall awesome experience with great drinks and sides. Burgers are huge and crafted really well. If you are into burgers you need to experience this for yourself.

Asian restaurant
Light Years in Byron Bay offers a modern Asian dining experience with a menu featuring share plates perfect for group dining. The dishes include prawn rolls, wagyu rump steak, and BBQ lamb ribs. The restaurant also serves popular cocktails like Netflix and Chill as well as new creations such as Kiwi Matcha Margi and Szechuan Sour. The venue has a vibrant atmosphere with a large terrazzo bar, cushioned booths, and terracotta tiles.
*** Highlights: Puts Sydney restaurants to shame. The experience was perfect. *** What we liked: The service was sincere, the rendang was not too heavy on the coconut cream, the firecracker chicken was not oily at all albeit a deep fried dish. The prices are very reasonable. *** Recommended? Pretentious Sydney has a lot to learn. I tipped highest amount possible.
Pasquale D — Google review
Light Years never misses! We got the basic set menu & it ticked all the boxes. Perfect serving sizes, great range of dishes that covered all the favourites & everything was so good it was hard to pick a favourite. Staff lovely as always.
Jessica W — Google review
What a great place. Every element of this establishment has been thoughtfully curated. Earthy tones, welcome you with plenty of light to read the menu! The food is super tasty with well balanced fresh flavors throughout. Kingfish Ceviche, Mud Crab Dumplings, Tender Firecracker Chicken, Miso Caramel Eggplant, Special Fried Rice, Duck Pancakes and a fab Watermelon Salad to freshen the palate at meals end. Truly a feast that satiated on every level making it hard to pick a stand out dish. Good wine selection and attentive staff made the whole experience one to repeat again and again!
Monica M — Google review
It was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, the food and service were so incredible. Worth every penny we spent! I would 100% recommend to anyone in Byron Bay! My partner and I chose the premium selection, I drank the Totara Sauvignon Blanc and wow was it incredible
Punawai T — Google review
What an amazing spot for drinks and dinner! We sat at the bar which I was a bit hesitant about at first… but it was so good! We had great convos with the bar staff and they were so attentive to us. Food was AMAZING! Definitely worth the hype 😍😍
Maddy D — Google review
One of the most beautiful restaurants in QLD. The staff is nice and friendly. The food was excellent and fresh. Really good experience overall.
Tanha M — Google review
Was blown away by the food and friendly service here! Came here with my family and we loved everything but my favourites had to be the pork belly bao and lamb ribs which were soo soft and juicy. 🥰
Chloe — Google review
De-lic-ous!!! Stupendous even! We’ve been eating loads of south East Asian cuisine, however this truly is remarkable. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday as we had both flown in and we are both well travelled and quite big goodies and we were pleasantly gob smacked. Firstly the yuzu cocktail is Devine, not my normal style and f cocktail as I’m a whisky girl but it still got all ✔️s from me. Then the salmon ceviche is exquisite (make sure you scoop up the sauce with each bite). The kingfish ceviche with the pawpaw salad is a heavenly match and that salad is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Yes a big claim I know!! Whatever you have here, I think you’ll looove’ like we all did. The staff were so helpful. We had my gf’s daughter with us and the staff were super accommodating for her as well. So thanks team for making all our day extra special!

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, No Bones is a vibrant plant-based eatery that champions the idea that ethical food can be incredibly delicious. With a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients, this culinary gem serves up an array of mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes that cater to all palates, including those who typically enjoy meat. The menu features innovative creations like crispy fried "chicken" with kung-pow sauce and oyster-mushroom souvlaki paired with almond skordalia.
We had the best time at No Bones! A friend recommended the restaurant to us, and after reading the reviews, it was an easy decision to go. We're not vegan and we eat meat occasionally, but we're used to plant-based meals, so we weren't surprised by how good everything was (because YES, you can create wonders with vegan food!). The dishes were absolutely delicious, and we really loved the cocktails too. We tried the Margarita, the Paradise Pearl, the Outback Sour and the Heat Wave (the Heat Wave was surprising! 🌶️) We ended up ordering so much food that we couldn't finish it all, but luckily we were able to take the leftovers home. We tried the bao buns during happy hour, the mac 'n' cheese, the crispy chicken, the organic focaccia, and the eggplant parmi. Everything was amazing; it’s hard to choose a favourite! We were too full to try the chocolate tart, which we regret a little... Service was exceptional, Yasmina was truly amazing. It was a bit chilly inside (winter time...), but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic evening.
Julia N — Google review
We had an incredible dining experience at No Bones! We shared a selection of starters and small plates—every single dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was fast, friendly, and super accommodating. We brought our infant along and felt totally welcomed. We’re not vegetarians, but you’d never guess it from how much we enjoyed the food—it’s just that tasty! Easily one of the best spots in Byron Bay. Highly recommend!
Danica P — Google review
Food is pure art here! Every dish is super creative and packed with flavor. Even my hard core meat- lover partner couldn’t believe it was all plant- based. We left totally impressed (and full! 😋). Staff were super friendly and took time to explain the inside of every dish. Only one request… please bring back the croutons in the Caesar salad!
Sofia B — Google review
I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be happier with my discovery! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with flexible seating that lets you choose your perfect spot whether you prefer the comfort of indoor dining or the fresh air of their outdoor area. Their menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering something for every taste. I decided to be adventurous and ordered two different main courses, and I'm so glad I did because both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were spot on and the quality was exceptional. What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service. The team was genuinely caring and made sure my dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Their attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. Being located in the town center makes this place incredibly convenient and accessible.
Shreshtha J — Google review
The most amazing vegetarian restaurant! The food was divine, the atmosphere great, the service impeccable! Will definitely return!!
Braydon H — Google review
Visited for dinner with my partner, we chose the gluten free tasting menu. The server asked about allergies and food restrictions before we ordered. The food is absolutely sensational. Neither of us have any dietary requirements, this is the second time we've eaten here. Brilliant flavours, thoughtful presentation and intentional combinations of textures. The Caeser salad was unexciting, the Beetroot ravioli were delicious. The chocolate tart was out of this world and who would know that wasn't actually fresh calamari? The drinks list is varied, with many beers, wines, cocktails, mocktails and spirits to choose from. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Rebecca W — Google review
We were there a couple of years ago and our re-visit certainly didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food full of flavours and well presented. If you enjoy vegetarian food I would highly recommend it.
Richard T — Google review
I had high hopes, but was severely disappointed. Service was slow, unfriendly, and drab. Food was uninspiring. I ordered the carbonara. Was lukewarm. Found a hair in my food & after confronting staff had to wait over 15 minutes for another plate, at which point I just wanted to pay my bill and leave. I’m sad to say that I don’t recommend this restaurant. There are many cheaper, much more inviting vegan restaurants to visit in Byron Bay.

This place was great! We ordered the Sultan’s Feast and loved it – super tasty and satisfying. The vibe was fun and relaxed, and the staff were awesome, checking in regularly. Food came out quickly and we left happy. Definitely worth a visit!

10/10 best meal we’ve had in Byron. The Sultan’s Feast did not disappoint. Great music, fun atmosphere, phenomenal food. Couldn’t pick a favourite dish, everything was exceptional from the pita, to the scallops and everything in between!

Absolutely amazing experience the service was outstanding and the food was out of this world. Highly recommend. The atmosphere added to everything, such a cool vibe.

We had a really nice meal at The Smoking Camel. All our dishes were very nice but special mention for the Persian Fried Chicken….absolutely sensational.
David C — Google review
Absolutely loved it! Every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The cocktails were amazing and the staff were friendly and attentive. The vibe was spot-on — fun, energetic, and stylish. Can’t wait to come back!
Mark B — Google review
Love the Smoking Camel! Scrumptious food created by amazing chefs and delivered with a smile by friendly and warm staff. Highly recommend anything that includes lamb. The staff go out of the way to cater to your individual preferences or needs. If you have any allergies or food intolerances, give them generous notice and they will do what they can to cater to your needs. I do wish they would bring back the BBQ prawns as they were the best I've ever eaten. Otherwise, the extensive and varied menu has something to offer anyone's tastebuds. The ambience is very cool enhanced by the fabulous disco vibe. It's a fun laid-back atmosphere that is perfect for a date night, group booking or any special occasion. Highly recommend!
Louise C — Google review
We loved the food at The Smoking Camel. The steak tartare was absolutely amazing and rich in flavor. The smashed falafel was also sensational. Lamb skewers cooked perfect and the green sauce was delicious. Overall, a taste sensational experience that we’d gladly return for.

Such a great experience - the decor is great, the vibe is chill, the drinks are pretty and the food is defs worth coming back for. We ordered the banquet, and also booked for happy hour. The Turkish Delight cocktail was delicious. The food was excellent - O.M.G. those prawns... Each dish was tasty & flavourful, with each course spaced out nicely. If anything, the banquet was too much food. We weren't rushed to finish at all. The service was friendly but professional and was there when we needed it, not when we didn't. Sooo many dishes I want to come back for and more to try as well.

Wine bar
Bar Heather is a Parisian-inspired wine bar located in Byron Bay. The 60-seat restaurant, nestled in the Jonson Lane development, offers a cozy and shadowy ambiance. The establishment is known for its natural wine selection curated by savvy importers James Audas and Tom Sheer, who also run Luna Wine Store across the road.
Had a memorable night at Bar Heather . food was innovative and outstanding , service friendly and professional, we sat at the chefs table on the pass and felt like we were part of the action , the kitchen team worked efficiently and effortlessly, a mark of a good restaurant and great head chef Atmosphere in the restaurant was very vibey and casual. Would highly recommend to serious foodies and people who enjoy good food executed brilliantly! A big thank you to Nina and the incredible team , will definitely be back soon

We loved this little bar! The vibe was European with great wine options! Highly recommend the betel leaf was our highlight, closing followed by the prawn toast & the chip. We didn’t like the tuna (not much flavour) or the scollops. Also, the ginger custard was incredible, one of the best desserts we have had.
Hannah P — Google review
Last night we went on a truly unforgettable food journey at Bar Heather, a cozy wine bar and restaurant right in the heart of Byron Bay. The Chef’s Table is just two seats in front of the kitchen where the magic happens inches away, and every little spark, aroma, and movement tells its own story. From the first moment, we felt completely immersed in something intimate and unique. With the chef and sommelier guiding us, each dish became its own chapter: fifteen bites full of creativity, precision, and heart. It wasn’t just dinner, it was a full sensory experience, a moment of passion, art, and pure enjoyment. I am so grateful to have been part of this incredible journey.
Catalina R — Google review
Amazing food, the stand out was the bay lobster maltagliati - 10/10!!! Every dish we tried was delicious. Great wine list with excellent suggestions. Staff and service was outstanding and attentive. The bar had a good vibe and we ended on a good note with dessert. The most interesting and surprise was the ginger custard. Would definitely recommend, it was our best dinner out in Byron.
Amy C — Google review
A bit disappointed. I dont understand the vibes. Tables, seat and space was not comfortable, table is too small for dinning experience. Oysters and local fish - standard Cuttlefish was nice but too much pepper, kill the dish. Prawn toast - over-cooked, can skip, I had too many good prawn toast than this one, nothing special. Cabbage , only 3 leaf of cabbage, chef are you kidding me? Don’t order cocktails here. Maybe just go for wine is better. Or go to Pixie Italian, much better!!
Jo L — Google review
A fantastic night of fine dining. The chef created a unique coeliac vegan menu for the two of us, including a number of small and larger plates that delivered intense flavours and showcased exceptional culinary skills. Some of those courses in pics below. This is fine dining as good as it gets. Accompanied by a great wine list and the perfect bottle to match our food chosen by the somellier. Thanks to all involved. Ps - ok, if we had one request it would be for one of the courses to have been plant protein based but that’s a teeny tiny one ;)
Baz P — Google review
Hello to the coolest kid in Byron! We were transported from the traditional margaritas and poke bowls of Bryon, into a world of incredible wines and elevated snack offerings… the prawn toast and betel leaf dishes,🤌🏻!! There is a lot to call out at Bar Heather, though it was Tess behind the bar, who brought the magic!👑 Tess guided us through the menu and wine list, with experience and passion beyond her years! Sometimes it’s the quietest, smallest bar/restaurant who brings the biggest wow moments, and Bar Heather did exactly that!
Tiffany — Google review
We had the 11-15 course degustation up at the pass (book via website, exclusive for only 2 per night) for my wife’s Birthday. The whole experience was absolutely amazing. Chatting with chef Ollie throughout the night and explaining each dish to us was great! The passion he has for fresh quality dishes was immense. He has created not just a beautiful bar restaurant for his patrons but an outstanding work environment for the staff. The whole team were very impressive and work so well together. The attention to detail was second to none. The live jazz made for a perfect atmosphere in a beautiful intimate space. This dinner/experience will be VERY hard to top in Byron. Can not recommend enough!

Situated at the corner of Massinger and Carlyle Street, this cozy cafe serves top-notch single-origin coffee along with a variety of breakfast and lunch options made from fresh local ingredients.
The cutest little cafe! The coffee was fantastic, and the pastries/cakes were absolutely delicious—especially the banana bread, which was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The staff were so lovely and friendly, creating such a warm and welcoming vibe. The setting is just perfect, with outdoor seating to soak up the sunshine while enjoying your morning coffee. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING! Tucked in a cute area, it has some of the most incredible pastries. We had the ham & cheese and veggie croissant (super good, and I'm a french picky eater so trust me!). The lemon cake was great too. My favorite was their blueberry muffin. Haven't tried their chocolate croissant but if you do, let me know! Staff is super friendly as well. We will definitely come back here! (#ProTip: Doesn't have a ton of space for a sit down breakfast, although people sat on the lawn outside so it works!) #Update: I had to come back and add more information. I tried there burger today (beek, fish and shrimp) and they are just excellent. This place is a #MUST. Owner is french and surprised us by talking to my mom in French. Just incredible service and great food. I've been here 5 days, and I must have come here at least 4 times!!!

Cosy little coffee shop that’s perfect for a stop if you’re in the area – you can even sit out on the grass! The menu has a great mix of breakfast and lunch options. Portions are generous, especially the fries which are perfect for sharing. I had the American Burger and my partner had the Steak Roll – both were absolutely delicious.

I got the strip burger and this is one of the best chicken burgers I’ve had in a long time. The chicken was real good soft juicy chicken breast topped with aïoli, cheddar, tomato, salad and all the delicious things you need on a burger, and not too greasy. T got the the beef burger and “it was quite good, it tasted like a beef burger, very satisfying”. E got the Aussie burger and it was a big surprise(good one). Did not read what was on the burger, but it was a delicious mix of beef, ham, eggs and much more. Good price and quick delivery. Definitely would buy a burger here again. Great after a day at the beach.

The best value burger in town! You get your money's worth and they taste awesome! There's another burger joint down the road which does not compare. Try this place! They also stay open late and don't forget to get the combo special!!!

First time I tried the food a couple of years ago was amazing Had it again today And had not changed Great food Price is a bit high but for the quality of what you get it’s well worth it

Amazing cheeseburgers and fries here. Honestly one of the best burgers I have tasted from Australia and New Zealand combined. The staff are friendly and accommodating for what ever changed you wish to make to your food. The price is right for the food sold, I would highly recommend the combo for an extra 5$ which gets both fries and a 375ml choice of drink.

Moonlight Japanese is a trendy hibachi grill and wine bar located in Byron Bay. The restaurant features a stylish interior with a crescent-shaped neon moon at the bar, offering an intimate dining experience. Guests can enjoy a variety of delectable dishes such as oysters with tozasu jelly, watermelon sashimi, beef tataki, crab rolls, and caramelized miso eggplant.
My husband and I visited Moonlight in December 2024 and absolutely loved it. It’s a super cool, contemporary Japanese hibachi grill and wine bar with a real focus on sharing plates—which worked perfectly for us because we wanted to try everything! Every dish we had was super fresh, beautifully balanced, and incredibly moreish. The drinks menu is also fantastic, with some great sake and wine options that paired so well with the food. The ambiance is moody and stylish without feeling overdone, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and really on point the whole night. It’s definitely a popular spot, so I’d highly recommend booking ahead if you're planning to go. Such a great night out—we’ll definitely be back!

Had the most fabulous dining experience at Moonlight yesterday! We did the omakase and every dish that came out was a delight - special mention to the steak and onion rings, watermelon sashimi and basque cheesecake but tbh we loved EVERYTHING!! Cocktails were also amazing. The best part however were the awesome staff, we were sat at the bar (BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE) and felt like we were hanging out with friends while they fed and looked after us 😂💖 thank you to all the gems at Moonlight for making our anniversary dinner so special. We can't wait to come back!

What an incredible new addition to Byron! We dined at Moonlight on our most recent trip and it didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing - with the stand outs being the prawns, scallops and cheesecake. The service was also wonderful, especially the bar staff who made great recommendations and made sure our drinks were perfect. Highly recommend!

SUCH good food, atmosphere, cocktails, staff! 🙌 the set menu was awesome, full of flavour and creativity. The chefs served us at the bar and they were delightful and excited to introduce the dishes to us. All of the staff were lovely and very welcoming. We’ll be back!

Seriously. I think this might be the best place I have ever eaten. Food? Perfect and delicious! Service? Fantastic! Vibes? OFF THE CHARTS!!! My husband and I were drooling over EVERYTHING! If you do go I would 100% recommend you get the Beef Tataki (the orange dish in the photos). I can't even describe with words how yummy and mouth watering it was. My husband and I were smiling and getting giddy with every bite! Thank you for the wonderful food xx

We sat at bar table, able to see the open kitchen running, talk to the chefs, if you have a chance to choose, sit at the bar. Fantastic menu, fun service and excellent food. We are from Hong Kong, have loads of good Asian food easily, not easy for me to try a Asian restaurant in Byron Bay I do like this restaurant

The Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. is a lively and airy restaurant in Byron Bay, offering a relaxed atmosphere with a balcony for outdoor dining. It's known for its delectable oysters and other seafood delicacies, making it one of the top seafood restaurants in the area. The menu features seasonal fare, tapas, cocktails, and brunch options.
Great place for a lovely dinner. Excellent crab linguine, fabulous lycée iced tea. Sauce with the rump steak a little rich but tasty. Very attentive service by Meg and colleagues. Very nice decor inside and on the balcony itself, good views over the main town street. Varied menu and deals for different times of day etc. Would thoroughly recommend!

My husband & I came for dinner on Sunday night. Sitting outside on the balcony. Love the decor & atmosphere of this place, cozy & pretty. We had the chilli Moreton bay bug pasta, spiced chicken & fries. Everything was so good, especially the bay bug pasta so tasty. The portion was quite generous to share for 2 persons. We were so full. I also had their classic margarita, it’s perfect! They have drag show on Sunday night, sadly we didn’t stay until the show start. The staff were all lovely and polite. Highly recommended to come here if you visit Byron Bay.
Monica S — Google review
August 2025 Our Sunday dinner at The Balcony was far from the enjoyable experience we hoped for to end our weekend. We used to regard this restaurant as a fantastic venue and visited every time we were in Byron, but after tonight, we will not be returning. Upon arrival, the receptionist attempted to seat us outside in the cold without asking for our seating preference. The waiter, a tall young man with a tattoo on his arm (I couldn't catch his name as staff were not wearing name tags), seemed disinterested, often looking up at the ceiling while we placed our order. Unsurprisingly, our bread was forgotten—though perhaps that was for the best. My glass of rosé arrived warm and had an unpleasant, sour taste; I couldn't bring myself to drink it. The grilled snapper appeared and smelled questionable, so I opted not to take a chance and requested that it be returned to the kitchen. After consulting the chef, who indicated he couldn't offer a better option, I canceled the order. The second main dish, the pork cutlet, was not much of an improvement. When we settled our bill, no one inquired about our experience or whether we enjoyed our meal. The service was disappointing, and the atmosphere felt quite dreary. It was evident that they were busy, likely due to many other restaurants being closed on Sundays, leaving patrons with few options. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money for a restaurant that values its customers and provides quality food and service.

Absolutely brilliant experience. So wonderful to revisit one of my favourite restaurants in Byron Bay . Incredibly beautiful atmosphere and the best service always. The place was packed by 6 pm and two stand out staff members were Alice and Sarah . The food was absolutely delicious and quickly served . Great choice of food and fantastic drink🍷 menu . Highly recommend. Congratulations to the management for such a well-oiled restaurant and amazing staff .

I love the drinks, food and service here. This is why I came back again to celebrate my birthday alone. Anna also gave me amazing service. I really love this moment in the restaurant!!!
ชลธิชา อ — Google review
The only redeeming part of this restaurant is its vibe and balcony view. Otherwise the service is horrible and the food is overpriced. Flagging down a server for any request took forever and our food was either incredibly bland or over salted.
Sadaf R — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner experience! The steak was excellent — every dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. But what really made the night special was the outstanding service from our waitress, Morgan. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, striking just the right balance between professionalism and personality. Morgan’s exceptional service turned drinks and a great meal into a truly memorable evening. Highly recommended!
Jac E — Google review
Either the staff who have had good reviews here get their friends to post them, or not one of them happened to be there for our visit. We went on a weeknight, so it wasn’t too busy, yet the staff were very inattentive. The music was too loud to be able to have a conversation and once we got her attention, even the waitress had trouble hearing our orders. There was a few of us so we got to sample a range of entrees which were quite good, however when it came to the $120 hot seafood “platter” we felt jipped. For that amount of money you receive 2 medium prawns and 1 Moreton Bay bug cut into halves, a couple of octopus tentacles (not calamari as stated on the menu, but it was cooked to perfection) and 2 small pieces of fish which, to be honest, could have been cat food. I understand there’s rent and wages to pay, but come on. After our meal no one asked came to check to see if we wanted drinks or dessert, which we did, so we ended up leaving and spending the rest of our money somewhere where it was appreciated.

What a happy vibrant and happening piece of Byron Bay. Welcomed by several team members and checking we were happy diners, we had a wonderful brunch. The open kitchen is a great feature of this establishment and the preparation of the meals being prepared was fantastic to watch. Every plate served with such precision. The fast pace that the food was cooked and plated was also impressive, (and delicious). I give you 20 stars out of 5. We love that we found you, no doubt, up with the best in town. Thankyou all

Over the past decade, I’ve visited Byron every year, and with each trip I’ve tried to discover a new breakfast spot. This year’s find was Bayleaf. I know it’s been around for a while—maybe that’s exactly why I never tried it sooner! The food is wonderful, and I really love the curated menu. I’ve had the chance to taste both their winter and summer dishes, and each one was a delight. The staff is equally lovely, and if you go, don’t miss the matcha cloud—absolutely delicious.

Perfect 5 star experience. Coffee was 10/10. Servers were very attentive and friendly. And the food came so fast it felt as though I had only just finished the order as it had arrived! The honey they used for the coffee incredibly sweat and raw. Juan served us with incredible vibes from the moment sat to the moment we left.

When all you can think about is the regret of not making your mind up while on holiday, which one to have? So you order both. Now to loose the weight. I indulged in House made Banana & Hempseed bread with lemon whipped ricotta & fruits. And House made Wattle seed Granola with Berry Panacota & seasonal fruit.

Mexican restaurant
Chihuahua Taqueria is a bustling Mexican eatery in Byron Bay, known for its mouthwatering tacos and casual yet trendy atmosphere. The menu features generously filled tacos like the Cerdo with slow roast pulled pork, pineapple, and roast pepper, as well as the Carne with pulled beef brisket, charred corn, and salsa.
This is the point where I fell in love with Mexican food. Nachos and Credos have become a part of life ever since. I should thank that young Viet who waited on us and for giving good suggestions and passing on our concerns to the chef. To the whole team: you’re doing an incredible job. Keep raising the bar. Highly recommended—this place is a must-try!

Loved the food here and drinks also great. We had 4 different tacos and they were all fantastic. Also had the jalapeño poppers which were very nice. Service was fantastic and the restaurant is a very nice setting with a great vibe.

We were looking for a light bite and found this taco, which turned out to be a great choice. The tostada bread was outstanding—soft, fresh, and full of flavor, giving the feeling of eating in Mexico. It was perfectly made and very satisfying. I’m excited to return and explore more of the menu along with some drinks.
Nia A — Google review
Cute little spot in Byron Bay. The tacos are fresh and single-serve, though the flavours could be a bit better balanced. The fish taco was a little dry, and the pulled beef on the nachos was tender enough but tasted more curried than classic Mexican. The real highlight was the hot jalapeño poppers crispy on the outside, perfect set filling on the inside and chilli coriander sauce—so good! The taco shells seemed homemade with a nice bite, though a bit on the al dente side. Service was lovely and our waitress was an absolute ray of sunshine. Not a fan of the weekend surcharges.

Stopped in on a rainy Friday night during the Australian winter (off season/June). Make sure to book ahead of time as they only had two seats outside. We 100% enjoyed our meal and feel it was the best food we had during our three week trip to Australia. Being from Los Angeles we know good Mexican food. The tacos were very generous in size, had great flavors and were truly enjoyable. Margaritas were amazing and the overall vibe was wonderful. If we could, we would eat here again. We even had a chance to chat with the owner, and he was a wonderful person. A 10/10 dinning experience, do stop in and give a try while in Byron Bay.

We had a fantastic casual dinner here. We ordered the quesadillas, nachos (generously loaded) and a chicken taco. All were packed with tender, flavourful meat, deliciously seasoned with bright, fresh toppings. Our waitress also recommended some house-made sauces which were light and vibrant. Also loved the passionfruit mocktail. Service was friendly and efficient, and the pricing felt fair for Byron. If you are in Byron, this spot is well worth a visit.

Nestled just a short distance from Main Beach, Loft Byron Bay exudes an air of coastal elegance with its white walls, comfortable seating, and inviting wooden tables. The venue is open daily from late afternoon until midnight, offering a range of happy hour specials, select beers, an extensive wine list, and unique cocktails such as the lychee chilli coconut martini and the Brookies spring gimlet.
We hired out the private dining room on the 18th of March for a meal after our wedding ceremony. It was absolutely perfect. Not quite 4 stars... Happy hour specials, especially the drinks, seemed to be the rule when checking out what other patrons were doing. And if you only come here once, I would recommend it for happy hour - oysters for $2.50 (very fresh, recommend without the sauce), half price deli board that was loaded with meats (really nice pickle & chillies), a nice house white (easy drinking) and a decent margarita. On-trend decor with a decent vibe. Get a table overlooking the steet below for some people watching while you sip. Was it the best ever? No. But it was decent. Would I come here again? Glad I tried it.
Sel W — Google review
If you’re looking for a bartender who truly elevates your night out, look no further than Mahia. From the moment you sit down at the bar, she makes you feel welcomed, seen, and taken care of—not just as a customer, but as a guest. Mahia has a natural ability to read the room. Whether it’s a lively Friday night crowd or a more relaxed weekday gathering, she knows how to set the tone. She strikes the perfect balance between efficiency and conversation: your glass is never empty, but she also makes sure every interaction feels genuine. Her hospitality shines through in the way she remembers regulars’ names and favorite drinks, and in how she always takes the time to personalize recommendations for new guests. Speaking of drinks, Mahia’s cocktail knowledge is impressive. She doesn’t just mix drinks—she crafts them with care and precision. The classics come out perfectly balanced, and when you’re feeling adventurous, her custom creations are always spot on. You can tell she understands flavor profiles, because even if you just tell her “something refreshing but not too sweet,” she’ll deliver exactly what you didn’t even know you wanted. Beyond her technical skill, what sets Mahia apart is her energy. She manages to keep the bar running smoothly even when it’s packed, all while maintaining a calm, friendly demeanor. She has a great sense of humor, which makes chatting with her a highlight of the evening, and she handles even the busiest rush with professionalism and grace. It’s rare to find someone who makes you feel equally valued whether you’re dropping by for one quick drink or settling in for the night with friends. Mahia’s consistency, charm, and talent make her an incredible asset to any establishment, and honestly, one of the main reasons people keep coming back. If you get the chance to have a drink made (and shared) by Mahia, take it—you’ll leave with not only a perfectly mixed cocktail but also the feeling that you’ve just spent time with someone who genuinely cares about your experience.

The people here are kind, genuine, and make you feel right at home. There’s a magic to this place that’s hard to put into words — it’s calm, creative, and deeply connected to the spirit of Byron. We’re counting down the days until we’re back in just a few weeks. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of our journey.

This place is all over Instagram, so I went and honestly, the food is a 10/10. I had the avocado toast with an incredible bread that tasted homemade, soft and fluffy, like sourdough. All the food was full of flavor and made on-site. The coffee was excellent. They had boxed oat milk, and they make their own almond milk in-house, though I didn’t try it. The space is very open and designed for outdoor seating, but the day I went it was quite windy and cold, and I didn’t see any heaters maybe that’s something they could improve.

Decided to give folk Byron Bay a try on Sunday as it kept popping up on my socials and looked sensational. Online arrived to find there is no car park or parking. It’s right next door to the caravan park so parking is a nightmare at a hazard has the car park king that is available is a shared zone with the entry to the caravan park so it is a hazard on street parking on the main road is mostly zoned no standing so if you do park there you’ll get a fine. We spent $91 on what you see in the pictures. Order at counter pay at counter atmosphere. It was very average and spoke to staff about the 15% surcharge that we were to pay for and was told that it goes to the employees. No looking forward to the law changing when they’re not able to charge you 15% for nothing on top of what you’re already paying for overpriced and average food. These meals could’ve been made at home for cost of around $20 As after all we were only ordering simple eggs and avo smash one cappuccino and one Chai latte $91.00, sorry not sorry I am honest when I do a review on somewhere that I am paying good money to eat at We will not be back !

It's located on the side of a road on the way out of Byron bay. The setup is great with plenty of trees to provide shade and nice alcoves outside. The service was friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the double egg roll, it was sizable enough. The granola bowl however felt oddly dry despite the yoghurt and the fruit. It wasn't sweet so if you opt for it I'd recommend asking for some honey to sweeten the deal. The price was to be expected for the area and the portion sizes are big enough. Overall this is a great place for brunch around Byron bay, I would highly recommend it.

What a beautiful little gem! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found this cafe and went back another two times. Fantastic drinks and food with vegan options, good coffee, very friendly service and comfy outdoor seating. I loved the nourish bowl and the soba noodle salad, both contained an exquisite mix of interesting spices and flavours. Also really really good (and hot!) is the spiced cacao. The only negative experience was that when I cam for the third time we had to wait for 40 minutes to get our drinks.

Kouzina Byron Bay is a hidden gem tucked away in the industrial estate of Byron Bay. This Greek restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its no-menu policy, making it an ideal choice for groups who enjoy lively conversations. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by friendly staff and treated to a set menu for both lunch and dinner.
A friend recommended this restaurant, and it truly became the highlight of my trip to Byron. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely Maria, whose beautiful smile and attentive service made me feel right at home. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The food took me on a journey back to Greece, reminding me of the first time I experienced authentic Greek cuisine. Each dish tasted like it was made with love just like a home-cooked meal. The dedication and care put into the preparation were evident in every bite. All the staff were incredibly friendly. What a hidden gem. It is almost inconceivable that one could be transported back to a family run taverna in Greece or the islands of, in the burgeoning Industrial estate of Byron (just down from Elements) and yet here we are. Its a wonderful set up, the outdoor bbq coals with the bbq wafting through air and the set up give a wonderful ambience. There is no menu as such (like excellent family run places in islands) but food depending on your dietary preference is brought out first as mezes then the mains As a fan of Greek cuisine, all was delicious, and so it commenced...perfect balanced vegetarian dolmades, creamy fava dips with octopus, tiropitas (cheese filo) doused with honey (popular with all incl the toddlers) perfect tartness and sweetness, tomatoes Gemista (tomatoes filled with rice n herds) had the perfect balance of sweetness of baked tomatoes and herbaceous filling, and lamb with rissoni that was sublime. As i walked past the lovely set up and bustling kitchen (Kouzina), I was half expecting to see a Yiayia in there cooking away, as it turns out i asked one of the lovely hosts who came to check on our table, where she was, She promptly confirmed that she was in fact the chef and learned her recipes from her Yiayia "good olive oil and produce" she modestly responded on being complimented. Its BYO only but theres a bottle shop nearby.

The Roadhouse Byron Bay is a charming and light-filled cafe with a rustic-chic vibe, featuring a spacious terrace for guests to enjoy. The cafe offers a creative brunch menu that changes regularly based on locally grown produce from Byron farmers.
Perfect place to have breakfast or brunch. You can always spot cool staff, really friendly. We tried the avocado toast, and the Eggs Benedict, everything super tasty and healthy. The coffee is real good! We found the size of the toasts really fulfilling, so worth it.

Having liked the look of the Roadside as I drove by, I decided to drop in for brunch one sunny morning, and I’m pleased I did. It’s a popular spot, but I was fortunate to find parking and an outside table where I could sit with my dog on the ground next to me. The outdoor area is relaxed and peaceful, so it’s easy to forget its roadside location. Staff were friendly and efficient. The wait time for my order was next to nothing. My flat white was strong, flavoursome and artistically presented. For my meal, I chose the eggs, poached, with sides of mushrooms and a hash brown. That was tasty, although the eggs had been poached for a little longer than I would have liked, and were rather on the small side. I guess finding any eggs can be a challenge these days. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable meal away from the city centre.

We visited The Roadhouse in Byron Bay, and from the moment we arrived, Chef Pedro and Mel, made us feel so at home. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even letting our little pet Luna come in with us, which was very kind. The food was just amazing. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There's a real focus on quality ingredients and simplicity done to perfection. It was such a good experience that we had to go back the next morning for breakfast. As a coffee lover, I can honestly say their coffee is the best in town. Rich, smooth, and made with real care. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and relaxed, the perfect Byron Bay vibe. If you’re looking for great food, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality (plus a pet-friendly touch!), The Roadhouse is an absolute must. Thanks again, Chef Pedro and Mel. We’ll definitely be back!

We ordered a dirty chai, chai latte, and an almond croissant. Everything was delicious, but the croissant took quite a while to arrive. My friend's already finished her chai by then, that's not ideal. Still, it's a perfect place to enjoy the sun!

We usually go here for coffee/brekky - but the SHOWSTOPPER was dinner! Oh my gosh, faultless incredible gourmet beautiful delicious food! The two main chefs are Brazilian who does all the chargrill nibbles/mains and Italian chef who makes the best woodfire pizza we have had….ever! 6 of us dined there and was our favourite meal of the trip. MUST go for dinner. Wish we took more pictures but enjoying ourselves too much. Thank you roadhouse team

An absolute standout! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and incredible service from Melody and the team. The pizzas are delicious, perfectly crisp bases, premium toppings, and the flavours are spot on (the salami with hot honey is a must-try!). The wine list is equally impressive, with delicious options that pair beautifully with the food. Every visit feels like a treat, it’s our new favourite spot for a relaxed yet special night out. 🤤🍕

Outstanding food. Literally the best Focaccia I’ve ever had. Burrata was awesome but I ate it before I could get a picture. Nice little place with great service. Waiter “Roman” was a good lad

Food was delicious and the Tommy Margherita were pretty good too. We had the calamari entrees which was great and then gnocci and mushroom pasta which were both great. Nice atmosphere sitting outside under cover. Parking available right out the front. Free from 6pm onwards paid prior to 6pm.

A Taste of Italy in Australia! 🇮🇹🇦🇺 Basiloco is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight to a traditional Italian trattoria. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do – you can feel the love in every detail. And the pizza? Simply outstanding! Authentic, wood-fired, with that perfect thin and crispy base, fresh ingredients, and rich flavors that bring back memories of Italy. It’s hard to believe you’re in Australia when you’re enjoying food this good. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, Basiloco is a must-visit. Grazie mille to the team – we’ll definitely be back! 🍕❤️

Loved this place. Alessio and the team were great hosts and the food was by far the best we’ve experienced in Byron Bay. The menu is well thought out and if you cannot decide just take their recommendation. For diners that are into their wines, the list is outstanding. Highlights were the crudo starters, the carpaccio and the pastas we shared. Pasta is made in house by the way. Thank you team Basiloco and thank you to Marco for the recommendation.

If you’re planning to visit, definitely make a booking—but don’t expect it to save you from a lengthy wait. When we arrived, the place was understandably busy, but there were four clearly vacant tables in view. Despite this, we were asked to stand to the side while those with reservations were seated (fair enough, we could have booked). However, it took 30 minutes to seat those customers, and after 45 minutes, we were finally seated—at a table that had been empty and just a meter away from us the entire time. Halfway through our wait for food, it became apparent that regular customers receive noticeably better treatment, with staff being warm and friendly toward them. Unfortunately, everyone else seems to be treated as second-class. We ordered a couple pizza’s which were nice and doughy which I personally like. Overall average, if front of house service improved this place would definitely be five stars.
Alexander S — Google review
The food here is sensational! Everything is freshly made - the sauces, the pasta and the pizzas. I could not fault the quality. The only thing I would suggest is adding another person to the roster. Our poor waitress (who did a fantastic job!) was run ragged. It was a great night and thanks for having us. As a local we will see you again for sure!

Outstanding from Start to Finish This was hands down the most informative brewery tour I’ve ever experienced—and the generous beer tastings were a fantastic bonus. Our French host was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and eager to share insights. In fact, every staff member we encountered was exceptional—genuinely friendly and full of personality. The beer itself? Absolutely top-tier, with a diverse range to suit every palate. And the in-house restaurant holds its own too, serving up delicious food that pairs perfectly with the brews. If you’re in the Byron Bay area, this place is an absolute must-visit. 💯

This is a great spot to include in your family day trip itinerary—especially if you're exploring around Byron Bay. It's a place where you come for the vibe as much as the drinks. There’s a wide variety of beers available, and you can sample them on site. If you find one you like, you can even take some home. Overall, it’s a really nice place to relax and take a break along your journey!

We had a brilliant time enjoying a tour of the brewery. Rhianna was a wonderful guide and shared her knowledge and made it all fun. We must have had 8 different tastings. Food started at 1/pm on the Saturday and the place was pumping by then. Definitely worth a visit.

Good food and beers...strong selection of classic Pale Ales. Pretty chill lunch in the sunny beer garden at the front. EV charging onsite is a bonus.

Great venue…for beer drinkers. $25 paddle with 5 beers good value. About a $15 Uber drive out of Byron. But Not a single wine option for those accompanying the beer drinkers. (Only non beer alcoholic option was ginger beer). Would have spent more time here-and eaten lunch here-if there had been wine as an option. Seems an odd choice not to cater to everyone, lost $ from us.

Excellent coffee with a variety of plant milks - I personally love coconut, which not too many places offer. The avo on sourdough was divine with a beautiful balance of flavours. The atmosphere is chill but vibey.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Bali Bagus Cafe. After hearing such great things from friends in Melbourne and seeing all the positive reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, we were not welcomed or even acknowledged for over 10 minutes. We sat waiting, only to be completely ignored while the man behind the counter continued serving others. In the end, we had to approach them with a “hello” just to get a menu. It’s terrible not being greeted or acknowledged at all, basic customer service was completely lacking. First impressions matter, and sadly, this was far from the warm and welcoming experience we were expecting.

It gets pretty crowded at breakfast but the staff wait on you quickly and your orders are put through quite efficiently. Coffee is pretty good and so is the avocado on toast (expensive 🫰 but so it is everywhere in Byron Bay the tourist town) - portions are generous so it's OK. The cafe is right next to the beach so it's nice to takeaway and have your meal on one of the picnic tables overlooking the beach. The barista is very friendly and does his best to remember your name and preferred coffee ☕

The best cafe in Byron Bay on main beach. Book ahead if you can as this place gets super busy. Five star service and presentation but the food is made to perfection. Highly reccommended the Corn Fritters, Big Breakfast, Pancakes and Smashed Avo. The bacon is cooked well, corn fritters are hand made and full of delicious flavour. Pancakes are thick and scrumptious. Don't pass this place up. It's amazing.

Cute and easy cafe next to the beach. Ended up being my favourite breakfast in town for friendly staff and great food and nice atmosphere. The big vegan was unreal, best breakfast in a long time. Great-Tasting Pizzas with Plenty of Vegetarian Options We tried three different vegetarian pizzas, and all were delicious. It’s rare to find such a wide variety of vegetarian options at a pizza shop, especially compared to what we usually see in Sydney. The garlic bread from the restaurant is a must try. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. A word of caution if you’re ordering a family-size pizza—the slices are quite large, and the toppings tend to fall off. Unless you enjoy rolling up your slice to eat it, you might find a smaller size more manageable. Overall, a great place for tasty, well-made pizzas!

Tasty takeaway from Slice Pizzeria 🍕 We called Slice Pizzeria in Byron Bay for a takeaway order, and they didn’t disappoint! The staff were super helpful over the phone, and the pizza was ready right on time when we arrived. We took it back to our villa to enjoy, and as you can see from the photo — it looked amazing and tasted even better. We got a half-and-half pizza, with one side loaded with mushrooms, herbs, and cheese, and the other with BBQ chicken and that perfect hint of smokiness. The crust was crisp and nicely charred, just how a proper wood-fired pizza should be. Great flavours, quality ingredients, and a very smooth pick-up experience. Highly recommend if you’re after a delicious, no-fuss pizza night in Byron Bay!

We went to get a couple of slices of pizzas for my girls and ended up getting their giant Margherita instead as the value deal. Took 20mins, got a wrong order with pepperoni which they recognised when giving it to us. But we’re super gracious about giving it to us IF we accepted. We don’t eat pepperoni so had to decline the offer and instead got or Margherita in 5mins as promised. The crust was the perfect thin where the toppings weren’t weighing it down and the mozzarella was the kind that hung around in your mouth after the crust had already been swallowed. Loved it!

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, Yulli's Byron Bay is a delightful haven for those seeking a relaxed dining experience. This charming spot offers an enticing blend of contemporary Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, all while focusing on plant-based dishes. With a menu that boasts vibrant flavors and creative options, diners can indulge in everything from ginger shiitake mushroom gyoza to turmeric cauliflower pad thai. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring sidewalk dining that enhances the laid-back vibe of this coastal town.
We spent a pleasant evening at Yulli's for dinner on a Saturday night. We had the $48 pp banquet menu which was good value. Great presentation, tasty dishes and excellent service. We had the paired drinks which included a cocktail, two wines and a sake, the standout of the four drinks being the sake. It's great to see that in these times, there is still quality food to be had at a good price.

I have been waiting an age to go here. It was so worth the wait, the food was amazing. Every dish absolutely delicious. The food ten star, the atmosphere was 3 only because the secret has not got out and there were not a lot of people dining. It was lunch on Saturday of the long weekend. What a hidden secret in Byron Bay. Can’t wait to go back to try different dishes.

We ordered the Banquet Menu, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite suit my personal taste. I truly appreciate the restaurant’s fully vegan concept, which is commendable. However, I found many of the dishes to be overly sweet and heavily fried. My friend is a big fan and recommended the place based on her positive experiences. Given the many great reviews, it clearly resonates with a lot of people, it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

Couldn’t recommend enough!! We had the banquet for $45 each and it was a bargain for the amount of food we got. Every dish was delicious, and we had some leftover pad Thai to take home. A special mention has to go to the two desserts at the end. We were so full but nothing could have stopped us from demolishing them. Already planning to go back with family in the future!

An absolute gem in Byron Bay. Yulli’s delivers a fully vegan banquet experience that feels more like a global culinary journey than just a meal. Each course showcases techniques and flavours drawn not only from across Asia, but from all around the world – masterfully blended into a cohesive and elevated tasting menu. Coming from Hong Kong, I’ve grown up surrounded by complex and bold Asian flavours – so to find a restaurant in Australia that captures and reimagines those tastes with such skill honestly blew me away. My tastebuds were thrilled. The second course was a true standout: Sesame-crumbed shiitake mushrooms. The layers of flavour and texture were perfectly orchestrated – crunchy, savoury, bright, and deeply satisfying. And that final bite of pickled cucumber? An absolute stroke of brilliance – it tied everything together with a refreshing, zesty lift. (I sincerely hope this dish becomes a permanent fixture on the menu – it deserves to be.) The Korean fried broccolini was another highlight – bold, sticky, and tangy in the best possible way. It’s clear that this is not just about fusion for novelty’s sake, but a genuine, thoughtful celebration of culinary traditions, brought together with creativity and flair. If vegan food tasted like this every day, I’d go plant-based in a heartbeat. ♥️

Absolutely delicious food. We had the banquet (one with matching drinks) and it was all very tasty. Great way to try out a lot of the menu. We ordered a couple more things too just because it all sounded amazing (and was). Will definitely come back to try more of the menu when next down that way. Pet friendly which was great, and most importantly, 100% vegan, which is why we chose it.

Tokyo Doll is a vibrant and captivating restaurant located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, with neon lights adding to the overall ambiance. The menu features incredibly fresh and delicious Asian cuisine, including must-try Vietnamese oysters and maki rolls. Diners rave about the fried chicken, salmon, and tuna tacos as well.
A great sophisticated restaurant and bar at the Paris end of Jonson street. Byron bay has plenty of grungy eateries but not many with an ambience of casual sophistication which it what this place has in spades. The wine list was eclectic and the food as tasty as it was different. The service was friendly and our waiter paired the wine perfectly with the food. Really recommend this one.

Tokyo doll is one of my favourite restaurants in Byron, they have the most delicious Japanese food and the cocktails are outstanding! The bar and wait staff are always attentive and lovely. Highly recommend !

Honestly, this was one of the best Japanese dining experiences I’ve had in Australia💜 The aging and flavor of the sashimi were just perfect — incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared😋 I also loved the vibe — the staff were relaxed and interacted casually with customers, which made the experience even better😍 If I have time, I’ll definitely visit again😉 Highly recommended💚

We just spent 5 nights in Byron and ended up coming back to this restaurant every single night because it was that good. The Tokyo Doll Fried chicken is hands down the best food I’ve ever had. My partner worked his way through the menu and loved every dish. The food and drinks were amazing, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. What really makes this place stand out is the staff, every night we were welcomed with such warmth and looked after so well it made dining here feel special each time. By far our favourite restaurant ever!

Absolutely amazing place. Our favourite restaurant when visiting Byron Bay. Chilled but cool atmosphere. Not pretentious in ambience and food quality is to die for. We were so impressed with this place. Kingfish sashimi was stunning as was the sechuyan squid and dumplings. Great cocktails as well. Wonderful friendly service.

Sat at the bar for a few drinks and was served by Frazer — absolute legend! Great company, good yarns, and he makes seriously amazing cocktails. You can tell he really loves what he does. Definitely coming back!

I am a local fan! Tokyo Doll is not only the best Japanese restaurant in Byron Bay. It’s one of my top-3 among all eateries in NSW Northern Rivers region. Exquisite food, outstanding service (what I consider the most important factor), cool ambience. The staff always strive to accommodate walk-ins. The price is not in the “budget” bracket, but it is neither in the highest tags we see in the area. There, you get more than what you pay for.

Red Ginger, with locations in Byron Bay and Bangalow, is a unique establishment that combines a grocery store, gift shop, and dumpling and tea house. Visitors can browse the Asian groceries, enjoy Yum Cha at affordable prices, or grab a quick lunch of dumplings or steam buns. The place is popular among both locals and tourists for its authentic dim sum cooked on-site.
The best dumplings and buns I had in Australia, rich in flavour
Constantinos N — Google review
The dumplings are nice however the place seems to be lacking environmental conscience. I spent nearly $20 on lunch and then asked if the lady would mind filling up my reusable water bottle - she replied no, we sell bottled water. This spoilt the experience for me and despite having liked the place for years I probably won't be going back. Also noticed that they use disposable plates and cups even if you choose to eat in.

Asian grocery and dim sim outlet in down town Byron. This well established place with a beautiful mural of a Hong Kong street scene is well worth a visit. The Dim sim is cooked at the back of the shop and is really authentic and good. There is always a queue for the eateries here. They are popular with tourists and locals alike. If you are lucky you can get a table and wash it all down with tea , which is kept in a velvet lined special pot (that can also be purchased.) The shop also sells ethnic furniture, and frozen and fresh food to take home. It has Chinese brooms , and table clothes and cabinets , and too many really good grocery items to mention here. Really good experience. Well ,it used to be as I used to be local and visited often. On revisiting this week I was pleased to see the shop was still there and went to eat and drink tea. The staff seem to be hand picked for their ethnic background to add to the general ambience. All through having said that there are also Western staff to balance it up. The outlet also sells furniture and books and aprons and fabrics among other things. And you can buy food to prepare at home as well as a very good section on Asian groceries Highly recommended

Come for the yum cha!!!! Easily the best yum cha coupled with nicely brewed hot tea. It has great atmosphere and very inviting vibe, this place is hands down the best in Byron if you visit. They also have your Asian samples like spices to dried noodles. But you must come for their homemade dimmies and sui mai and most of all, the egg tart. You will not be disappointed!!!

Il Buco Cafe & Pizzeria is a trendy Italian BYOB spot in Byron Bay, offering artisanal pizzas and classic Italian dishes. The small and casual restaurant doesn't take reservations, but the authentic wood-fired pizzas are worth the wait. With a BYO alcohol policy, guests can grab their favorite beer or wine from a nearby bottle shop to enjoy with their meal.
Incredible restaurant. The food is divine. It's a true Italian restaurant with local flavors!! A taste of Italy in your mouth. A real pizza dough from Italy 🇮🇹 The welcome was great, pleasant, and kind. I recommend it and would happily return✨

Decent pizza place in the heart of Byron Bay, good menu, inside & outside eating available. No alcohol as it is BYO, but that isn't an issue for us service was efficient as the place was very busy, both eating in & takeaway. Our pizza was mushroom, cheese & parama ham, base was nice although was a little soggy in the middle due to the tomato sauce. The crust was fresh & tasty. Kids menu is limited with only a small Margarita available, but was a good size & fresh when it came out. I would recommend it as the food is nice, I would say more suited to an early family dinner or takeaway.

Tiny restaurant with more seating outside than inside. Fantastic pizza and antipasto. Also had an outstanding Caprese salad. BYO. Friendly professional service from the Italian owner. Our last visit was in 2015 and nine years later it is just as we remembered. Highly recommend!

this place is a must do when you’re in Byron - we had the burrata and pizza, so delicious! The girl serving us was so lovely but the place is small so the food did take a bit longer. However we didn’t mind as we were relaxing, taking in the atmosphere while drinking our BYO bottle of red wine!

Really great value pizza for the price and so delicious! We split 5 pizzas among 8 people and it was plenty. Lots of options for pizza toppings! We sat outdoors on the pedestrian street and the vibes were immaculate. Perfect for a group dinner.

Had a great pizza for dinner tonight. It’s only very small pizzeria but the outside tables only add to the atmosphete. The pizza was absolutely delicious and although they dont normally do it, they accommodated us with a 1/2 1/2 pizza due to conflicting taste on having slow cooked pork belly!! Setvice was very friendly and quick. Def recommend!

Orgasmic Food in Byron Bay is a casual Middle Eastern eatery known for its mouthwatering falafel pockets and other Mediterranean delights. The menu caters to various dietary preferences, offering vegan and gluten-free options. Customers rave about the delicious food, great service, and friendly staff, often mentioning specific team members who make the dining experience special. While it's a laid-back spot not ideal for a romantic meal, it's highly recommended for those craving flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine.
This place is a charm especially if you are looking for authentic Israeli food and atmosphere. We were strolling around the town after a long day hiking and spending time on the beach when we stumbled upon this little shack. It was unexpected in this neck of the woods but a very pleasant surprise. The food was good but the overall vibe and the music were even better. Enjoyed!

Absolutely delicious! We had the falafel here and it was outstanding — probably the best I’ve had in Australia after 7 years of living here. The service was exceptional: warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The owners go out of their way to make sure every customer is happy. Well done! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Really nice well prepared food. We enjoyed it alot and were happy we choice this restuarant. Our on disapointment was the very loud music that was turned up after our order was placed. Why ruin the atmosphere for the customers? We asked them to turn it down and they did promptly but the manager started yelling at the staff so the customers were aware of this and once again I felt they didn't care about our experience at their restuarant. The Chai tea tine looked like it needed a wash. But the tea was delicious.

I’ve been coming to Organic Food Byron Bay for years, and the quality has always been excellent. Italian restaurant
Di Vino is a locally owned restaurant that opened in 2018, offering an authentic Italian dining experience. The menu, curated by head chef and owner Lucio Grassi, features a variety of dishes that seamlessly blend Italian flavors with local produce. The warm and inviting ambiance, complete with candlelit tables, sets the stage for a romantic evening. Situated in the heart of town, the restaurant also boasts a large terrace for guests to enjoy a refreshing sea breeze.
Discovering the culinary gems of Di Vino restaurant in Byron Bay, I embarked on a culinary journey that astounded my palate. With a chef hailing from Napoli and a waitress originating from Italy, my expectations were elevated, and I can confidently declare that they were not only met but exceeded. Having recently returned from dining meccas in London and Melbourne, I was pleasantly stunned to encounter pasta of such remarkable quality in this serene coastal enclave. Di Vino's prowess transcends its size, surpassing even esteemed establishments in London. The pinnacle of my dining experience was the Lamb Ragu Pappardelle, a dish of unparalleled excellence. The discerning diner can readily discern that the pasta is crafted fresh each day, resulting in a sumptuous texture that complements the rich, savory ragu impeccably. The King Prawn Chilli Pasta, an innovative concoction, tantalized my taste buds with its creativity. I suspect that the inclusion of kimchi chili, referred to as fermented chili, lends a distinct and piquant character to the dish. The sauce, bursting with flavor, hints at the meticulous use of prawn shells, an exceptionally rare touch that elevates the dining experience to unprecedented heights. So enamored was I with these culinary creations that I entertained the idea of ordering three pasta dishes for myself and my companion. Di Vino's irresistible offerings beckon diners to overindulge, for one cannot be certain when they will have the privilege of returning to Byron Bay. The warm and welcoming demeanor of our waitress, Paula, harmoniously complemented the culinary mastery of Chef Lucia. Our impromptu visit to Byron proved serendipitous, granting us the chance to savor this exquisite dining experience. I eagerly anticipate the day when I can once again traverse the miles to Byron Bay and rekindle my affair with Di Vino, a culinary gem that outshines numerous Italian restaurants throughout the country. In addition to the aforementioned delights, I also ventured into the realms of Casarecce with Pork and Fennel Ragu, a third plate in our feast of excess. My astonishment persisted as I encountered the rare digestif, Braulio, available in this charming establishment. This truly remarkable culinary sojourn at Di Vino in Byron Bay has left an indelible impression, and I look forward with great anticipation to my next rendezvous with their culinary offerings.

A classic style Italian joint. A good range of options, with traditional menu items too. Slightly stayed but sweet restaurant, nice spots to sit by the windows. Food was good, rich but flavoursome. We had anchovies, eggplant, squid ink crab pasta, and affogato. Service was a little vague at times, our waiter seemed unsure (but perhaps was new). He recommended a wine that was unfortunately tasted off / very acidic and we sent it back, yet it still appeared on our bill despite not having drank any. The second wine we ordered was much better.
Abbie L — Google review
Food was nice, good sized portions, service was friendly. Nothing bad but also nothing particularly special. It'd definitely be a nicer restaurant experience once they get some sound-proofing put in - or it could also just have been that the people sitting next to us were particularly loud (or both).
Carolyn C — Google review
The restaurant ran out of the market fish and the prawn linguini when my group of friends visited 2 weeks ago on a Saturday night, which was pretty disappointing as we wanted local seafood. To compensate, they gave us a few free salads which was a nice gesture. We ordered the burrata and beef tartare off the antipasti menu, both decent. The orecchiette was probably the only dish that we enjoyed, as the spaghetti main was fairly unexciting.

Incredibly tasty food, even one of my friends who is a massive meat eater enjoyed himself and orders dessert as well. One of the best mojitos I’ve had also, such a lovely atmosphere. The host was so welcoming. High recommend!

I loved my humble burger and fries, but thought that the nourish bowl (aside from the Pattie) was a little too plain. The drinks are quite nice and the ambience is good to. It is a little pricey for the amount of food that you get (I think the burger is decent value, but the bowl was not). Overall it's a 5 for the burger and 3 for the bowl.

This is a must visit when coming to Byron. A vegan restaurant with extra tasty food. Everything we had was amazing. As for the drinks, botanical beers, plenty of cocktails and mocktails, everything was superb. And for the ambiance, I can't even describe the atmosphere there. Full of wood and beautiful carpentry, you will feel like you are visiting a restaurant in a fairy tale. It is a unique and exquisite visit, but definitely worth it. Be sure to book especially if you are in a larger group as the place has few sitting spots. They do takeaways, but dining in is an important part of the experience here.

I LOVE this place. Only wished I came here and knew about it at the beginning of our Byron trip. I would’ve come more often. From the minute we walked in... the service was just amazing. First time being there she went through the menu and gave us suggestions for the popular dishes. The menu had so much variety and this included the food as well as the drinks with all their botanical beers, housemade sodas and elixirs. We ordered the smoked tea mushrooms and raw kimchi dumplings for starters. And the hemp burger and jackfruit lettuce wraps for mains. We were definitely not disappointed and enjoyed every bit of it. I came to a point I was so full but had to finish the dish. The decor itself is magical and quirky. It felt like you were in an enchanted forest.. from the furniture to the greenery like it was built by fairies. I absolutely loved it and the elixirs been served on the menu really just complimented the decor. The girls working there are so amazing and so friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Byron.

While not exclusively vegetarian, the menu boasts a dedicated section for vegetarian options, featuring enticing combinations like garlic mushroom and spinach pumpkin. This makes it an ideal spot for groups with diverse dietary preferences. The affordability of the delicious pizzas also makes it a great choice for budget-conscious travelers.
Food was delicious. We ordered the vegetarian and tandoori chicken pizzas, both were outstanding. If you are going to order a standard size, the pizzas are a little smaller than expected (not sure why I thought 9-inch was bigger than 9-inches when it is a measurement) In any case, the recommended serving size on the website (feeds 1-2 people) is probably more like 1! Have attached a size photo with my palm as reference. Will definitely head back here next time I am in byron!

Took my parents to Byron Bay for the first time and was on the hunt for the perfect wood-fired pizza. Most places were shut — just as we were about to give up, we found this hidden gem. Ordered the Garlic Mushroom Legend and it seriously lived up to the name! Crispy base, loaded toppings, full-on flavour, and great value. My parents couldn’t stop raving. Byron Bay next time? One word: Try it. You won’t regret it.

I paid $29 for a pizza from Legend Pizza, and it arrived completely burnt. The pizzaiolo should have noticed that it was inedible and never allowed it to be sent out for delivery. This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We couldn’t even eat it. Very unhappy with this experience.
D J — Google review
We paid $55 for two pizzas and a garlic bread. Pricey, but I wouldn’t have minded if the pizzas were actually good! The garlic bread was just greasy with no flavour (still looking for the garlic). The pizzas were ridiculously small barely the size of an open hand! Again, if they were extraordinary it wouldn’t be such an issue… But they were just dry, bland, greasy and honestly boring to eat. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Hopefully management reads this I’m clearly not the first one to complain about the pizza size. As for the taste, everyone’s got their own preferences… but this was honestly pretty average

Flea & Street Markets
The Byron Farmers Market, held every Thursday morning at the Butler St Reserve, offers a wide array of local delicacies including organic sourdough breads, farm cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts from the Nimbin Valley and more. The market is not only a place to shop for high-quality produce but also serves as a social event with locals gathering as early as 6:30am. However, due to high stall rents, prices can be on the higher side.
Okay - you have to come early on Thursday morning by 7am - eat breakfast from the stalls, buy brilliant local produce including cheeses, meats, seafood and honeys. There is live music to listen to on beanbags if you feel chilled. Easy to walk of cycle to. Everything is priced at a premium however you can be assured of supporting local farmers. Maybe buy enough to cook one fabulous meal if you are on a budget. My favourite are the heirloom Coopers Shoot tomatoes and Dorper Lamb. I tried a sample of the hemp oil and it was quite relaxing. Kool the Byron hula hoop busker is always here to brighten your morning. It is worth it and an authentic local experience.

The Byron Bay General Store is a newly opened cafe that has breathed new life into the original General Store established in 1947. The menu offers popular crowd-pleasers like burgers, smoothie bowls, waffles, and pastries with options for modifications to cater to different preferences. The cafe also serves kombucha on tap, nitro coffee, and cold brews. Known as 'The Top Store,' it is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike to enjoy coffee or a relaxed lunch.
The breakfast is so delicious and fresh. The irony is that the food choice is so enticing that you are tempted (and actually) eat much more than you should. The açaí bowl is not too sweet and full of great fruit and seeds. The banana bread is to die for. There is some kind of vegan cupcake with a date frosting that is so good, it can’t possibly be healthy. But is seems it is. Overall, we highly recommend.

What truly sets it apart are the exciting additions of perfectly salty and squeaky grilled halloumi, a refreshing and zesty sauerkraut, and a subtly sweet and savoury tomato chutney. The absence of excessive oil ensures a surprisingly light feel. The friendly and attentive service further enhanced the experience, with the meal arriving promptly. If you're looking for a big breakfast that breaks the mould with these creative and quality ingredients, the Byron General Store is a must-visit.

I was walking to Tallow Beach when I came across this lovely café. I met some friendly people and had a nice little chat. The coffee was great! I love coffee and really enjoy visiting cafés with a warm, welcoming atmosphere like this one.

Food was good. However they don’t have normal scrambled eggs on the menu, is prepared already with goat cheese which I don’t eat goat cheese, bit disappointed that I can only order fried egg.

One of our favourite breakkys in Byron Bay! Food was delicious, coffees great and staff were lovely Only negative was that our first dish came out super quick then there was about 15 mins til the second arrived - both on the same order via QR code so not a front of house error 🤷‍♀️

Our go-to breakfast spot. The vibe is super chill – wooden décor, surf prints, and that laid-back Byron feel. A fresh muffin and a hot cappuccino here just hit different in the morning 🧚

Definitely cornered the merch side of the cafe industry. Food is good and the menu is nice & has some good choices, coffee is nice, it's just slow service, lots of staff, think the laid back atmosphere is reason for slowness in service. Definitely worth going to breakfast, be prepared to wait for a seat.

Barrio is a trendy Spanish restaurant located on the outskirts of town, offering a cool and vibrant dining experience. The menu features mouthwatering dishes such as beef with chimichurri, Cubano sandwiches, and chickpea flatbreads. For those seeking a lively atmosphere and South American-inspired cuisine, Casa Luna Byron Bay is an excellent choice. Additionally, OCA - Organic Cuisine and Arts stands out for its contemporary Brazilian-inspired menu focused on organic ingredients.
Myself and family went here for lunch shortly after Christmas. The food had a dynamic range of flavours with beautiful sauces, purees and dressings. We loved the starters and desserts. The highlight for me was the lemon myrtle panna cotta and the terrific venue which had a cool sea breeze flowing in the Windows. P.s. terrific service and easy parking. Thanks!

We caught the Solar Train from the Byron CBD. A fun way to go to lunch. This restaurant is an easy 3 minute walk from the station. Fantastic, friendly staff and a terrific menu. The steak is a stand out and all dishes were brilliant! Cooked to perfection 🥰

A lot of great flavours. Underated IMO. Didn't manage to snap the mains, the party had already started before I could get the camera out!. But recommend the octopus, beef, prawns, Tarama, cabbage and seaweed

The food and ambiance of this place was excellent. The service was a bit of a hit or miss. The location is convenient if staying at Elements so worth a visit. One of the better restaurants in that area.

Edit Jan 2022: Came and had a lovely lunch here today. The menu was limited due to staffing shortages but both dishes were super fresh, balanced, and tasty. Original review from 2020: Have had numerous beautiful breakfasts, lunches, coffees and catch ups at Barrio! It’s a lovely space with good energy, balanced flavours and friendly staff. My mum loved the fish soup! I loved the fava beans, chips, and tomato salad! Always a go to when I’m in Byron! Look forward to returning in the near future.

What an amazing find! Great food and very friendly service in a nice setting on the outskirts of town. The staff could not have been more friendly and the food was superb. I highly recommend if you are Byron Bay that you come check this very cool spot out. The salad was delicious (not sure I've ever said that before) and the perfect compliment to the rib. The restaurant was quite busy with several large tables so the chef sent over appetizers due to the longer than expected wait. Amazing choice be sure to check it out!

Although the space itself looks very inviting, I was quite underwhelmed with the breakfast menu. It was quite limited. The avocado on toast was also with pickles and seaweed which I don't like so I got toast with a side of avocado. The avocado was more like a dip. It is possible that breakfast is not their main draw card, but was hoping for a bit more.

We had a fantastic experience here, it’s a place to be for events, bday celebrations, etc!! Stunning food, very tasty, it looks like a piece of art, great service! It has the BEST kid’s menu with great variety and proper options! Highly recommend!!

We dined here at lunchtime during our Elements stay. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the black garlic and lemon chicken linguine and the seafood spaghetti. The food and drinks were definitely pricy. It makes sense as it is a part of the resort. The restaurant is a little bit hot during summer but that was my only real issue. Thank goodness our table was under a fan 😅
Turna M — Google review
We are here a few times over the weekend and it was a mix. Dinner is definitely poor and the food and atmosphere very average. It calls itself an international experience but only pricing is international. I had the fish of the day (snapper) for dinner which was dry and rubbery in the worst seafood brisque sauce I’ve ever tasted - basically had to remove edible components to avoid the sauce. Pontiac fries were boiled potatoes finished off with some baking. Kids had pizza which was ok if you stuck to Margherita. No one at the table was left happy. Breakfast buffet options are limited but the venue is lovely by day given the beautiful open setting and greenery. Best to stick to the eggs station as the omelettes were great. Highlight of our culinary adventure was the central otago Pinot Noir. Dinner was 2/5 and Breakfast 3.5/5.

Very relaxing and peaceful space for when the main town Byron gets too much! (trust me, it can, during school holidays) Service was a tad slow and distracted, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed being left alone for a bit. Our food was enjoyable.

Consistently good food here be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Best arancini I have ever tasted and the steak and pea risotto are highly recommended as well. Perfect if you want to stay in the resort and not having to go out for food. Service can be a tad more attentive though.

We stayed at the resort and had breakfast in the terrace. Unfortunately the service/flexibility was a bit underwhelming when asking to adjust the order based on dietary requirements buy the food was good in the end. We also had dinner in the fine dining area which was a much better experience, especially because of the service of the (blonde) sommelier. She made our visit memorable and enjoyable, the food was heavy but delicious!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing pizza and top-notch service at Domino’s Byron Bay! I’ve had Domino’s many times, but the experience at the Byron Bay store was truly next level. The pizza was fresh, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious — every bite hit the spot! You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do. A special shout-out to Sukhman at the counter — friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. You don’t always get service like that these days! Highly recommend this store if you’re in Byron and craving great pizza with excellent customer care. Thanks, Sukhman and team — I’ll definitely be back! 🍕🔥

Ok. So it's Dominos. Fair call. But when you pre-order 10 pizzas and three garlic breads for a pick up time and you turn up to find the person behind the counter initially unable to find your ordered pizzas and then to realise the garlic breads have not even been cooked, the collect time of 8.15pm blew out to 8.30pm. of course, by then the pizzas were not piping hot. No apology, no explanation either. The team seem to be completely unorganised and uninterested to care. Not really good enough

I've been involved with the pizza business for a long time, and Byron is short on good pizza. As a consequence of that fact I must rate this establishment as the best option, old school flavour and aroma, reasonable prices by comparison.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Pizza Ever – Thank You Amon! Usually when I get takeout, I brace myself for disappointment… but Monday night at Domino’s Byron Bay turned that on its head. Big shoutout to Amon, the legend behind the counter, who made our pizzas with so much care that you could actually taste the happiness in every bite. From the minute we walked in to the moment we left, he was genuinely friendly, upbeat, and clearly loved his job – and it showed. The pizzas? Perfection. The base was crispy but not dry, the toppings fresh, and the flavours so good we almost forgot we were eating Domino’s and not in some fancy Italian seaside restaurant. Honestly, it was the best pizza we’ve ever had – and we’re fussy, home-cook-everything types! That night, we’d been driving around for 30 minutes hunting for somewhere still open, craving pizza, and finally found Domino’s. We grabbed our order and headed to Byron’s main beach to eat by the ocean under the stars. The combination of the sea breeze, the waves, and Amon’s masterpiece pizzas? Absolute magic. Five stars for the food, five more for Amon. Give that man a raise.
Jody K — Google review
Great dominos one of the best in Australia. (Mind you I have only eaten here once.) They were very generous with all toppings. The only better dominos I agve had was one in Sydney and I cannot remember which one it was. At this dominos I got the spicy lovers, the french heese pizza and the cheesy garlic bread. Definitely need to give a special shout out the cheesy Garlic bread it was very cheesy and very garlicky and the other pizzas also were great. Amazing value. Currently my rankings for good dominos are 1. Random one in Sydney (which I don't remember the name of) 2. Dominos Byron 3. Dominos yeronga, Brisbane 4. Dominos Bendigo 5. Dominos morningside. Personally I'd avoid dominos tugun, dominos west end and dominos on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne. Also mind you the quality can be highly variable depending on who was on shift and changes in management.

Subway is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering healthy options for customers. Customers can build their own subs with a variety of fillings and toppings. The store's attention to detail ensures an even spread of fillings in every sandwich, providing a satisfying experience for customers whether dining in or ordering through delivery services like UberEats.
My partner and I went into Byron Bay Subway for lunch today and got served by Bella who was the most professional lovely worker! It was quite busy but she handled everything so smoothly and still had time to give a smile. You could see that she really knew what she was doing and we had a great lunch there. Thanks so much!
Abigail G — Google review
Subway is usually my favorite fast food, but this one made me want to walk out as quickly as I walked in! The floor was dirty (ok, that can happen because of customers), but the counters and cutting boards were covered in sauce, and the lettuce looked cooked. I could understand if this happened during a rush, but the place was empty, no customers, and the staff were in the back while all the food was sitting out in the open. How long had it been there? I don’t blame the employees, two very young women (probably teenagers, and it’s great they’re working at that age!) but where are the managers? Shouldn’t there be adults supervising when people are preparing food? The sandwich I got was poorly made and honestly unappetizing. Overall, I was really disappointed, and I think Subway should definitely do some quality control checks on both their food and hygiene standards at this location.

Oran is one of The BEST employees at Subway, Byron Bay. I have been ordering subways at Byron bay ~5 times per week in last 14+ months. Oran has exceptionally top class service. Very friendly and happy face all the time. “ORAN makes the best subways” 10/10 score for Oran

Possibly the worst Subway in the southern hemisphere if not the world. Never has any stock, Never honors the specials that it advertises in the shop, Doesn't open to the opening times and at times doesn't accept cash and the servers are completely hit and miss sometimes good and other times absolutely hopeless. Avoid it like the plague.

Can't believe I'm at the point of leaving a review for a Subway, but here we are. Came for lunch and were turned away (rudely) with a "back in an hour". No explanation. Just a filthy attitude. Noting again, this place closed for an hour. At lunchtime. On a Saturday. Absolutely atrocious. Reading all the other reviews, seems this is common. Management clearly doesn't care. Hopefully someone who was intending giving this toilet of a store some money will read this and go somewhere else.

Japonaise Kitchen was our first food stop in Byron and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and also very reasonably priced. Very tasty, very fresh and very attentive to allergies. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was very cool.

Good and service were great! With such an abundance of choice in Byron, it can make it hard to pick a cuisine, let alone an establishment. Rest assured of this restaurant’s quality. Busy most of the time and limited seating however this kitchen smartly offers takeaways also 👌 A truly “must try” if you live in the area or are passing through.

I had the teriyaki salmon with rice and salad. The dressing was really fresh and tangy, and the salmon was nicely cooked with a well-balanced sauce. Arts Factory Lodge by Nomads is a vibrant and lively hostel in Byron Bay, offering a range of accommodations including jungle camping. Originally established by hippies and artists in the 70s, it still maintains its original spirit. The lodge features a cafe/bar, outdoor pool, and offers activities such as yoga and didgeridoo lessons. While not the cheapest option in town, it provides a well-priced stay with a laid-back atmosphere that invites guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
I came to this hostel intending to stay just one night, but the energy of this place made me stay much longer. I stayed in a shared cabin by the lake, and it was the perfect place to admire the nature, rest, and recharge. The city center and the beach are just a few minutes' walk away. Nicole at the front desk was very kind to me, even recommending places to continue my journey. I loved this place and highly recommend it.

Great hostel. The Private rooms are Great, ours even came with a small fridge and a water Boiler. The facilities were clean, but as little cold as they are basically outside. The kitchen was big and clean and the rooftop balcony was a big Highlight. The location is a little downside, as it is outside of Byron bay, like a 20 min walk. But this makes it a very quiet location. Overall a really good hostel.
Max L — Google review
This is a very unique hostel, on the edge of Byron Bay and backing out directly onto a Nature Reserve. Surrounding the main building are a campsite, glamping tents, volleyball court and a pond/water feature. Wildlife come and go through the grounds, which is pretty special! There is a good atmosphere at the hostel generally and people are friendly. The bathrooms were clean and the laundry facilities were excellent. There is also a luggage storage area and coffee shop on-site. We were staying in the glamping section (the ‘island’), which was a little basic and a bit cold in September (the tent has ventilation/windows which can’t be shut). Due to the climate, the tent walls were also slightly mouldy. It would have be useful to have some shelves for storing items during our stay. Although the site Wi-Fi reaches out even to the tents, which was great! N.B there is a pub/music venue nearby so music is playing loudly throughout the venue until about midnight on some nights. The walk back at night is also quiet dark (there are no street lights), so if you are alone you may want to take a short Uber ride back. However, the location and overall atmosphere make this a very peaceful and unique spot. Staying here was a special experience - a highlight of our time in Byron Bay!
Rhian F — Google review
After reading all the reviews about the filth in the common areas, I was skeptical. However, everything turned out better than expected. We stayed in a private room/tent by the lake, which had a welcome swampy smell, but that didn't detract from the cozy and slightly festival-like atmosphere. Everything was very relaxed, and everyone went their own way, but there were definitely social groups within the hostel. The bar and the tacos are highly recommended, especially during happy hour. Overall, I didn't feel like I fit in with the hostel's target audience and I did feel a real sense of social pressure to interact. Which did happen, but I really came to visit Byron Bay, not just to make friends in a hostel. Overall, my stay was absolutely fine!
Joelle L — Google review
Travelling the east coast we have stayed in quite a few nomads and this one falls short of what we normally experience. The staff were lovely and very friendly so was nice to see a happy face after 12 hours of travelling. The noise is so loud! I have no idea why they are blasting music continuously from 7am until midnight it would really be good if we either had a break in the middle or a later start with the music.. unfortunately not everyone appreciates the loud music all day. We did have 2 days of quiet (it was lovely) then the music started again. Personally I think it ruins the peaceful atmosphere. As someone who is autistic i find loud music continuously overwhelming and there was literally nowhere to get away from it as you can hear it 2 streets away. The bathrooms and rooms where very clean and tidy so that's a positive. The kitchen could do with daily cleaning as it was very unclean. Overall I dont think the hostel is worth the money we spent at all... I unfortunately won't reccomend to anyone I know.

I recently booked a stay at Arts factory lodge and was beyond impressed by this place! I booked a very large group of people and the team at the hostel was so accommodating and made the process so simple. The facilities were awesome and rooms were fabulous. For adults, there's an onsite spa and an exclusive adults-only pool in addition to the family-friendly pool. Accommodation options range from well-furnished studios to two-bedroom villas, while the Azure Bar & Grill caters to all guests.
Pure bliss…. Everything about Elements was wonderful. The low rise, luxurious eco friendly villas are beautiful. From much of the resort you can hear the waves. The gardens and surrounding bush including walking trails are full of life. Elements really has a special location - the estuary, bush and ocean. Our meals were fabulous. We loved the adults pool - warmer than the main meal so we could swim in September. We will definitely be back….

We had the most incredible stay at Elements of Byron. Our beach villa was absolutely stunning waking up to views of the ocean from our room was just magical. The property itself is breathtaking, with so much space and beautiful wildlife all around, making it feel both private and special. The pool areas were fantastic, especially the adults only pool which had such a cool, chilled out vibe (though it did get busy, which just added to the atmosphere). The swim-up bar was a highlight the food there was top-notch! The buffet breakfast was another standout. We loved the variety and the thoughtful touch of bite sized pastries, which meant no waste and the chance to try everything. The spa experience was truly divine beautifully designed, calming, and incredibly relaxing. The only downside for us was the food at Azure Restaurant. For the price point, it felt pretty average compared to everything else at the resort. Overall though, our stay was unforgettable. Elements is such a unique place that balances luxury with nature, and we can’t wait to come back next time with the kids to enjoy it all over again

Beautiful location surrounded by three unique ecosystems — such a special setting. Great facilities with a gym, restaurant, poolside bar, tennis court, and lovely bushwalks. It feels like living in nature! The main pool is stunning, and the adults-only pool is peaceful with its own bar. Rooms look small from the outside but are very spacious. I’d heard it was once more for couples, but it now caters really well for families and kids too. Only a short drive from Byron town — highly recommend!

Beautiful place that is well maintained within a stunning environment. Our timing was perfect as it was sunny (around 23 degrees most days) without the resort being at full capacity most of our stay, so not to frenetic in the pool area etc. The main pool is on the fresh side, so be warned that it can take some adjustment. The pool itself is absolutely stunning. Pool service and menu is brilliant. Awesome menu for kids (kids toasted sandwiches, chips, milkshakes etc) and brilliant options for adults as well, with terrific cocktails and tap beer etc. Breakfast buffet and setting is also first class. The guys at the omelette station do a wonderful job. Coffee is also very good. The machine that makes pancakes is also very amusing and a hit with the kids. Local restaurants are also world class. We visited a bunch of places for dinner including The Loft, Pixies, Tokyo Doll, Harry’s and Ember. All amazing places but we rated Tokyo Doll the highest as it was a bit more chilled but food was still absolutely amazing. Harry’s was also incredible with a super chilled environment and wonderful food. Honestly, very hard to fault this place (Elements or Byron Bay) and we loved our first visit. We usually visit Noosa but decided to give Byron Bay a trial. I guess we did get lucky with timing (however) as the staff mentioned it was going to get crazy as soon as we left, as NSW school holidays had just commenced.

This is definitely a place where you can relax knowing that the service will always be excellent and there’s nothing you need to do. We had a wonderful week and the food, drink drinks, and rooms were all excellent. The staff are always very happy and will drive you around in carts Although the walks are also lovely. I think it’s a great place for families with young kids, but we also had teenagers with us and they seemed pretty happy too. The kitchenettes are reasonable, although there’s no Oven, so I think if I came again, I would collect more food and cater back at the villa a bit more. It’s also easy to get into Byron Bay Centre via the solar train during the day or Uber. That makes this a great location I think for staying in Byron Bay. We did yoga a couple of times. It’s in a great location looking straight at the ocean and watching the sunrise. We saw whales and dolphins from this location. The only thing would be for any regular yoga people, it’s a pretty basic and relaxing style with not a lot of heavy work.

There is not, but was advised they could put one in for us. On arrival we were told the microwave is in the room. Usually you have to ask again for the microwave, so was great. Showed to me the staff were on the ball. The receptionist again was extremely pleasant and helpful. The luggage carrier was big and the receptionist even came with us to our room. The resort has recently been sold, so no doubt renovations will occur. The shower is excellent and the bathroom great. The lounge and bed are comfortable and the tv can be turned to see it from the bed. TV options are great with Foxtel available for free. The room overlooks the pool and the balance is great with views of the waves though not the beach. It's winter so not going into the pool but from reports is excellent. I chose this hotel for its wonderful position... Easy walk to the beach and up to the Lighthouse. In Byron Shire meters are everywhere, so staying here means walking is easy to the beaches I want to go to and the famous town centre is at our doorstep, along with the Information Centre. The kitchenette is adequate with the bar fridge actually was enough for all the food we are travelling with. We dined at the hotel next door and the food was delicious and tasty. The staff there, including the helpful bouncer, were so accommodating and lovely. There was no noise whatsoever from the hotel, even though a band was playing when we were there and I am a light sleeper. Thank you. We are enjoying our stay. Your staff are a credit to you.

I love recommending places to eat but this isn’t one of them. Both the food we received, as well as our drinks, did not meet basic standards. Yes, the service was good, however the entrees and mojitos we ordered were deeply disappointing. It seems that as a customer you’re simply paying for the rent and the views. Locals obviously do not dine here and now we know why.

Beautiful place to be. However in that price i could stay in better place. Room isn't very quiet. You can hear all the noise

Gorgeous spot right in the heart of buzzing Byron. Our room opens right onto the pool area. Generous sized rooms. Gorgeous retro vintage decor. When you step into the foyer, you feel like you stepped right into somewhere between 50's and 70's which we loved!!! Hope they keep the retro vibe! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely recommend.

If God had an address, this would be it. … 😇🥰😇🥰😇😇🥰My father was the king of hospitality the first one ever awarded and 3 more times. I was the tourism ambassador for the Gold Coast. I’ve looked after the king of Dubai George Clooney Mel Gibson Dolph London taking them to the most wonderful places while they’re in our country but this was my secret place and I’m now sharing it with you…, and I’ve inherited that passion. When I first arrived at this extraordinary place during my battle with breast cancer, I was uncertain about my future. But despite the relentless recurrence of the disease, I found my refuge here—an oasis of healing that feels almost divine. This isn’t just any destination; it’s a sacred space where beauty and tranquility converge. I truly believe that God has an address, and it resides here. The enchanting landscape, the gentle lighting, and the genuinely kind staff create an atmosphere that is nothing short of transformative. The experience is life-changing, and while it feels almost too precious to share, I want others to discover this magic for themselves. Having traveled extensively and coming from a renowned hospitality family on the Gold Coast, I’ve encountered remarkable food and accommodations. Yet, this place transcends all expectations. It offers not just luxury, but a profound sense of healing and connection. I first visited two years ago while battling cancer, and it has become my sanctuary. The sheer beauty of this location instills a desire to embrace life, making healing feel possible. Byron Bay is not just a destination; it’s a lasting imprint on the soul. My time studying and living in France was once my pinnacle experience, but this place has redefined what I hold dear. It’s my everything—my number one. If you seek an experience that will resonate within you forever, look no further. This is where you need to be.

Absolutely Brilliant!! Staff is super attentive and so friendly, we were treated like royalty. Best location in Byron Bay. Beautiful appartment/room and facilities. We saw whales from our balcony every day. Thank you so very much for making this the best holiday ever. We will definitely come back.

The resort features an outdoor pool, picnic area, terrace, and garden for guests to enjoy. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Byron Bay's town center and various attractions such as the Byron Tourist Information Centre and Main Beach.
We booked a powered site without reading the reviews and then I went to check it out and was very worried about what to expect. I guess your voice helped them to adjust the problems mentioned. Shower was great, full of hot water flow. Bathrooms reasonable clean, not bad at all. Perfect location, we had a great experience and I’m not being biased. Staff was friendly, easy check in. Was everything I need. We also used the laundry, one or other out of service but, completely normal for a heavy used place/ equipment. Both gates were closed, so yes we felt safe!

Stayed here with my son as needed last minute accom in Byron. Found this cabin for $250 per night down from $300. Grateful for the accom but not for $250. It was a very, very basic set up. If I had paid $300 I would have been fuming. Check in was lovely and fast. Staff were great. Didn’t really see too much of the park. In comparison I found another room in Byron on another night for $180 which was incredible. I understand peak availability etc but in this case had I my time again I would have preferred to drive 15min out of town for better accom.

Fourth time in our van here and this year it’s not very well looked after especially the amenities block with broken taps, broken shower arms, leaking taps, blocked toilet in the ladies, locked toilet cubicles and locked shower cubicles . Upon talking with neighbours found out that they all payed less than us for the same period of time and when asked about it staff blaming other staff but no refund offered. Least amount of people there than all the other years we have stayed so thinking they are not getting return business and we will be one of them.

I've been traveling with my 2 brothers and my parents for 3 weeks and this is the first time we've been so badly received at a campsite. The staff refused to welcome us, saying that it was forbidden to sleep 3 in our vehicle. The only choice was to buy a tent and take another pitch, or go elsewhere knowing that it was late and nothing was available. Fortunately, the First Sun campsite came to our rescue with its admirable staff. NEVER GO THERE IF YOU READ THAT

The campsite is very centrally located. The camping spots are very narrow, but quite long, so that you have good space for camping table & camping chairs etc. The toilets and showers are quite old but clean when we were there. Our place was a bit noisy, as it was right next to the street, but that didn't bother us. There is also a community area with refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, stoves and BBQs. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again!

I am extremely disappointed with how this company has handled a clear case of fraud. My bank card was stolen and used to make a booking at one of their hotels. I provided them with all relevant evidence and even notified the police, yet they have refused to cancel the booking. A reputable business should perform proper identification checks at check-in and verify them against the payment card, which would have immediately shown this was fraudulent. Instead, they have allowed the booking to go ahead, effectively enabling the use of stolen funds. This experience has shown me that they prioritise keeping a booking and money over protecting customers and preventing crime.

This place is disgustingly dirty and run down. A rating of 3.9 is a total furphy (i.e. lie) made up of high scores from years gone by when it was good. Those days are long gone. Unless you have no other option do not stay here. It is disgustingly dirty and a total rip off. There are no solid exterior doors on cabins, only screen doors. So they are not soundproof or weatherproof. No privacy. No cupboards to put clothes/bags in so you have to put your clothes/ belingings on the floor which is dirty and old. Disgustingly dirty fan. Ants in our bed! Felt dirty, creepy, crawly. NO DOOR ON WOMEN'S BATHROOM! How is that even legal? Byron Council?? Also very lacking in lighting around park so feels unsafe at night. Camp kitchen has no pots or pans or instant hot water, fridges are faulty and BBQs are filthy. Not hygenic to prepare food or cook. Washing machines and dryers are either filthy or out of order. Showers had NO HOT WATER and along with toilets were FILTHY. Overall amenities are terrible - except of course for the dazzling pool. But you can't eat off or sleep in that! Dont be fooled by the misleading photos. This is the worst place we've seen in 4 years of travelling. Avoid like plague. Council/health inspector needs to close this place and suspend its license until it is brought up to scratch. What a disgracful operation. On top of all that prices are hugely overinflated for poor quality. $1200 for a week in a dirty hut And that was half price! Not even a solid front door. Only a flyscreen and curtain. Fly screen didn't work as it filled up with ants and bugs. Shame it takes up such a great location. A disgrace for Byron Bay. Owners/management need expulsion/prosecution.

Do not recommend staying here. Blankets bed sheets was so dirty you could see it wasn’t washed. Shower was horrible to use went extremely hot or cold with no pressure. The air vent was covered in dust. The toilet button to flush the toilet was broken and reception said to use your fingers to flush. Overall just wasn’t pleasant to stay

The Cape Byron Lighthouse, standing proudly at Australia's most easterly point for over a century, is a majestic sight to behold. After taking in the breathtaking views from the lighthouse, visitors can take a leisurely stroll to the nearby Cape Byron Lighthouse Cafe and National Parks and Wildlife office. The cafe offers a welcome respite from the hot weather, where one can indulge in refreshing ice cream while browsing through the National Parks and Wildlife store.
Friendly lady serving, she made a great coffee , they have Bonsoy milk for my liking on a plant based diet, not easy to find. Nice display of food, cold drinks and ice cream, but didn't try those on this occasion as was on a morning trek not ready for food. They take CASH 💵I was impressed! It also can be a hard option to find in places these days. Location of course is breathtaking nature, so nice that after a big hill climb a cafe is located here views, coffee, food its a great package 😊 Thankyou to owner for response🙏🏻, definitely visiting you again✨️

Nice little cafe with a good cuppa. We had a ham cheese tomato croissant that was quite good and a carrot cake that was pretty tasty. Now what makes this place special is quite obviously the view. One of the most iconic views in Australia. Beautiful. You have to be quite lucky to get parking g but it is available. Very nice that they have the tables outside to enjoy the view. Nice touch.

The views from this lighthouse are definitely worth the 8 dollars we paid for parking. You get a full 360° of amazing scenery and there is a lovely little hill walk too. The coffee shop is delightful too! They do fresh gelato ice cream which is exactly what you need to cool down after the walk.

Absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and the coffee was AMAZING. seriously the best coffee in Byron bay and such a reasonable price. The manager Sian and her sister are absolutely beautiful and so kind. Love that they are a family ran business and locals! Their sister cafe is also The Pass Cafe which I can not wait to try. 1000/10 the best cafe!

The redeeming feature of this cafe is the spectacular views! The coffee, latte and scone were mediocre. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. The car park attendant was quite rude and officious. It would be good for the frontline person to be friendly and welcoming.

Walked up with my water bottle, immediately told to go outside to fill it up which is fine but one of the ladies working, I could not understand what she was saying and she was pointing around the corner (the water fountain was straight ahead). Then I finally realised where she meant and heard the other lady say “open your eyes” and they both laughed….. SORRY but I could’ve found it quicker if your coworker wasn’t babbling while speaking and had just given me clear direction. Got annoyed at me when it was her coworkers fault that I started to go the wrong way. I work in hospitality I know how frustrating it can get especially when a customer can’t find something but I’d never say something rude like that out loud in front of them. So rude! Also I was planning on grabbing something to eat but nevermind! Maybe next time you go to talk poorly about or to a customer keep your voice down😁

Popped in for a quick snack and beverage when viewing the lighthouse. Surprisingly…. Wasn’t expensive, had great food and the view is just sensational! Strong recommend from me!!!

Sensational views. Chance of spotting dolphins and whales. Sunrise is a must. Moderate walk up there. Not really much parking available (cost involved) so most people walk or ride half way. Nice little cafe for coffee and iceream althought staff a little rude. Free entry to actually go up and have a look from top of the lighthouse by volunteer guides.

This is the best GYG I’ve ever gone to. It was extremely busy when went but the staff handled it extremely well, getting food out efficiently and giving 10/10 customer service. Estelle was incredible and deserves praise for how well she handled the customers. My husband and I have never had GYG this tasty and generously portioned. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It’s not the first time I have had an issue since the reopening. Last night my daughter ordered for the family for me to pick up on my way home after work. After waiting for almost 30 mins past the app pick up time ( I get its summer and busy), I drove home food in hand, only to realise when we opened the food they had failed to put chicken on our “chicken nacho fries” and failed to add cheese to the tacos. So off I go, drive back into town (mind you it’s a good 15-20 min drive after a long day and an already long wait- but when you order chicken and the meal comes with everything but the chicken you get a little mad). I spoke to the young guy at the front- no apology- who went to get his manager. Managers response was less than what you would expect- oh sorry let me get those remade for you- then walks off. Doesn’t come back, doesn’t explain to the staff anything. Didn’t see him again to tell him it has taken over an hour and 20 mins to get to this point from first ordering and the fact I had to drive back into town as the main ingredient was missing! The young girl handing out food then didn’t know what to do with the food once it came as she wasn’t aware of the situation! He didn’t explain it to her. Lack of communication is probably the issue. As how can you miss the chicken on a chicken meal or cheese on a taco- don’t they all come with cheese? I think they’ve lost a customer with this one. Shame, the kids love the food when it’s made right the first time.

The food is really bad even for fast food standards. Ordered a bunch of tacos for the family for dinner, tacos were half full with brown lettuce, the restaurant was filthy, dirty tables rubbish everywhere, crows scavenging out of overflowing bins, it wasn’t even busy. All the staff were really loud and boisterous, all standing around socialising, just really disappointed. Had to throw all of the tacos in the bin and cook the family dinner we couldn’t eat them and wasn’t going to force my kids too, lastly the hygiene I observed was well below par, heaps of touching hair and face then handling the food. Will never go back.

GYG Byron Bay blew me away — hands down the best food I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. The burrito was packed perfectly, the chips were insanely crispy, and the guac? Unreal. The staff were super friendly and the vibe fit Byron perfectly — chill, upbeat, and full of good energy. I’ve had GYG all over Australia, but this one takes the crown. Can’t wait to come back!

(my son works in gyg brissy so I know my tacos.... took them AGAIN. asked for them to be cooked. A very skinny male with a trim beard (the cook)walked over grabbed them off and said dont give me attitude... I wasn't even talking to him. Said we can go 2 ways. I said I just want my money back but turned around to kitchen and said I'll recook them but don't give me attitude.... well how about I will share this experience here. This won't hinder your business cause your in the heart of byron bay. But I think the cook needs to get a girlfriend cause his hand aint making him in a better mood... don't care what you respond with as I won't be coming back here again and will give my money somewhere else

Yesterday Thursday 2nd October witnessed a lady go to the counter 3 times to complain about the food. A cook walked to counter snatch food from team mate, mouthed off to the lady in an aggressive massive, walked off to remake her food. As myself and husband went to counter to order our food we noticed the same chef male her food with NO GLOVES! Throwing the ingredients into container with his hands and threw the enclosed food over the counter to her not saying a word... he was angry aggressive unhygienic and should be let go from this establishment. A skinny man with a short trimmed brown beard, brown hair.... we won't be coming back as our food was cold and yhe rice was uncooked. Didn't want to complain at the time as I didn't want any dramas. So it was thrown out....management needs to fire this person... disgusting behaviour and unhygienic

I was in Mullumbimby because I went just for my spa session at Kiva. The plan was to head back home to Byron Bay directly. But to my surprise, and completely unexpectedly, I became ravenously hungry at the spa. When I left, I felt like I absolutely needed to eat or I was going to faint. This wasn’t part of the plan due to my budget, but given the circumstances, I decided to turn to Google Maps since the only place I knew in Mullumbimby until yesterday was Kiva 🙈. To my surprise, the first place I stopped to look at the menu, the kind woman at the entrance was so sweet and helpful that I was immediately charmed and decided to follow my instincts. The restaurant itself is quite simple in terms of decor, but the food is an absolute 10!!! The taste was delicious and the enormous portions that force you to take a takeaway container, and at the same time, it saves you from having to cook the next day 🤣. The atmosphere among the staff is exceptional. Since I was alone, I could focus on observing, and it was a joy to see them work with so much enthusiasm, harmony, respect, and camaraderie… Although they were completely full and kept handing out take-away orders one after another, absolutely everyone was attentive to me the whole time. I felt super comfortable, and the final chat with Jackson, the youngest waiter (I think that was his name), was what charmed me the most. What a sweet, helpful, and adorable young man! (It turned out he was the son of the first woman who welcomed me to the restaurant). How lovely to feel so well taken care of, even though I was totally lost as a customer and my English was awful… A huge thank you to everyone for the wonderful service. Now I can say I have a favorite restaurant in Mullumbimby ❤️😍.

Had an absolutely stunning meal here. Having lived and worked in Thailand for a number of years I'm mostly disappointed when eating Thai food outside Thailand. Not the case here. Every dish was authentic Thai in flavour even though the heat level was dialed back a bit for the joe average palette. The fish cakes were obviously home made, cooked to perfection and immediately took me back to the night food market of Sukhumvit Soi 55; as did the pork belly salad and the stunning house special - wok fried duck with dry rub seasoning. It was a Thursday night and their takeaway service was pumping. Dine in if you can as good Thai deserves to be respected and eaten straight from the kitchen. Best to book. Oh and by the way the wines were very reasonable priced at roughly 30 bucks a bottle (unlike more pretentious places that charge 80 bucks plus for an 20 buck wine at Dans). If you are ever in Mullumbimby and like Thai food definitely give this joint a try. Went back again as we had to try the whole fried snapper. Very good and the recently added Spanish temperillo went well with the thick, spicy sauce that the fish sat on

After over 18 years coming here we wont be ordering from here again. Valentines Day.. thought we would have a nice dinner. Got the vegan panang curry and hub got his usual red curry chicken. Got home to find the Panang was nothing like usual, was watery, really orange, and did not taste anything like the panangs we have had here for 18 years. The red chicken curry looked exactly like a panang. tasted the sauce, it was exactly like a panang. Called them and said we think uv swaped the sauces. Owner was certain they hadn't. So we said we'd bring them back. Hubby came home and said the owner said looked at them, there was no swapping and that this is how the meals are supposed to be. Pretty shocking service from a once lovely local business who had lovely owners and good quality food. It is no longer that. Here are some photos.. the left (bottom bowl) is supposed to be the panang.. the right is supposed to be the red curry.. Definition of Panang curry is descirbed on their menu as : "PANANG A full bodied, creamy curry infused in coconut milk, kaffir lime leaf, ground mung bean " As you can see form these photos this is not 'full bodied' in any sense of the word, and is watery, and not creamy and thick as it used to be. There is no hint of ground mung bean or richness to the sauce. It used to look EXACTLY like the sauce on the right, which clearly has ground 'something' making it thicker, and lighter. Which they are now saying is their red curry. Meanwhile, my husband at his "Red Curry" and said he has never tasted that before. We've been coming here for years. He has never had a panang as he always sticks to what he knows, and he knows he's never had that curry before. So after coming into town 3 times to try to get a dinner, and being told that we were wrong.. we wont be coming back. Surely you can't expect people to be treated like this, giving off obviously different food and then telling us 'thats how it supposed to be'. Isn't this called gaslighting? All we wanted was the same thing we've been coming here for for almost 20 years! What an absolute disappointment to have to write off a local business.

Wahlburgers Byron Bay is a popular dining spot with a friendly and accommodating staff. The menu offers more than just burgers, with tasty food and generous portions. The cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is pleasant, especially for families with children. They also offer a range of merchandise for purchase. While some find the burgers to be too big to fit in their mouths, others appreciate the variety of options available on the menu. The service is prompt and staff are welcoming. Customers enjoy the O.
We recently visited Byron Bay and were looking for a place for dinner and found Wahlburgers. So we decided to give it a go. As we walked in, we could see the bar, some relaxing areas with couches, and a game area. We saw the outdoor areas and decided to sit there. The place is beautifully decorated and spacious. Food: Chef Paul's choice burger, Donnie's choice burger, Chicken Parmagiana with fries & salad, and Chicken Parmagiana with fries and fried onion. The ingredients were fresh, and the buns taste like an original american burger style. The portion was also generous. We were struggling to finish off everything. Location: top floor where Woolworths supermarket with plenty of parkings.

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to write this, but unfortunately, I have been ignored for almost a month now despite my multiple emails and attempted phone calls. So, hopefully, this does something. I'm a big fan of the chicken tenders, and I get them often, and I decided to get calamari with them this time too. It was over $30 for both items, so you'd expect it to be quality, but it was far from it. It was so oily it was soaking through the lined box, rubbery and had no flavour at all. Definitely wasn't fresh. But the oil is really what I have an issue with. It was absolutely excessive. I have reached out so many times politely to resolve this issue, but unfortunately, I've reached the point where I am fed up with being blown off by the Wahlburger team. I don't think I'll be buying from here again, which is disappointing because ,as I said, I do love the chicken tenders.

The hamburger was way overcooked cooked and barely ate it and I feel sick. My sister ordered the fish burger and she said the same thing. My husband and my sister's husband ordered the salads which was a little better, bacon wax not really cooked and chicken dry. The waitress had a hard time understanding what we wanted. I ordered a lemonade and was brought a 7-up which maybe was a blessing because of my upset stomach. Would never come back again.

We were so happy we made the decision to dine at Wahlburgers! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The menu has alot to offer, not just burgers! The food was tasty and big servings. The cocktails were yum! The atmosphere was good, though we were there early so a bit quiet. There's high chairs or booster seats for children (colouring also). A range of merchandise is available. Overall a great experience and we will definitely eat at Wahlburgers again 😊

We visited Byron and Wahlburgers for our 1st time on Sunday. It was fairly quiet when we first walked in but the gentleman behind the bar was very welcoming and showed us to a lovely seat out on the balcony over looking Jonson St. Soon after he returned to make sure we were comfortable then off again to serve some other patrons and a kids party. After we got comfortable and enjoying the place we walked inside to order some drinks and this same delightful man came walking in behind the bar with the most welcoming presence. It was whilst he was pouring our drinks and talking he noted he would be over to our table shortly to take our food orders then we realised he was running the floor and bar all in his own!!! By this time more people had arrived inside and out and he just went on his way making sure that everyone and i mean everyone had what they needed to be comfortable. We were so very impressed by the service the food and atmosphere. Thankyou so very much for my Wahlburgers experience. Fried Pickles 10/10 Ps By the time we left we noticed there was another young lady chef in the kitchen. Bravo to the 2 of you and your extraordinary work ethics.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff, we had a couple of O.F.D. burgers and they were really nice. The tomato jam is pretty bland, I think I'd change the sauce next time but it was still a nice burger. It's pretty easy to change preferences on the app anyway so no big deal. The house brew was a pale Ale and it was spot on 👌

Zaza Kebabs is a fantastic kebab shop on upper Byron Bay's main street. They serve up some of the best kebabs in town, and their Turkish Delight is a must try. They also have a great selection of sides and drinks to go with your meal.
Wow wow wow. We got a falafel kebab, chicken kebab and a large chips. All perfectly executed, some of the all time great chips and such beautiful customer service. We’ll be back!

After having bay kebabs for a snack earlier on in the day - we decided for kebabs at night too. I ordered the chicken plate and my husband had the mixed kebab (lamb, beef and chicken). The roll didn’t turn out to be that great, which was a function of rhetorical red meats being all mixed together but the plate was excellent. Great value for money, filling and ticked all the boxes on taste.

Great amount of food for what you pay. Lovely owner. Shout out my new fave kebab place -- and I've been to the Valley. Yeah.
Mekayla A — Google review
Amazing kebab spot! The owner served us and you can tell he takes real pride in his craft. The kebab was generously loaded with fresh ingredients, and he even added extra sauce after toasting so it wasn't dry at all. We were sharing the kebab and he cut and wrapped each half neatly, gave us plenty of napkins each and the chips were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Fantastic service and incredible food – highly recommend!

Juicy Charcoal Chicken and more offers a delightful dining experience with its amazing food and friendly staff. Customers have praised the delicious prawns, falafel, and chips. The place exudes happy food vibes, making it suitable for any time of the day - whether it's a late-night visit or a brunch outing. The flavors are rich but not overwhelming, making it a highly recommended spot in Byron Bay.
💛💛💛 the "chips" and falafel here. I've staff are so friendly, happy food vibes. I'd roll in here drunk at 2am or for brunch at 12. The food is full of flavour but not over powering. Recommend to everyone in Byron 🙂
Tonya G — Google review
The food was very very tasty however the wait time on a single item at a quiet time (>20 minutes with 1-2 others in the shop) is simply far too high for a "quick takeaway". The portion size is also fairly small for the reasonably large price.
Benjamin F — Google review
Ordered a party pack for two for delivery. They missed out an item, but we’re gracious enough to deliver it back within 10 minutes. The food was amazing, especially the prawns and falafel, and the staff are beautiful and kind. Would order again! 💜

LOVE this place! The food was delish, the staff are beautiful and the vibe is great. I appreciate good vegan food and I was satisfied each time I went to this place!! The falafel is the best I’ve had. Wish I had one close to home, I’d eat here every day!! 🤤
Kathleen R — Google review
Aweful falafel....Ordered vegan falafel plate, very disappointed, falafels were dry, salad was underwhelming, tabouli was on the brink of tasting 'funky' stingy servings of hommous and bubbaganoush and half a pocket bread. $14.50!!!
Matthew S — Google review
Absolutely horrendous. The driest falafel in Australia. Delivered the wrong food and was met with a "Yeh, na".... My 5 year old son can roast a chicken better than these geezers. Thanks anyway.
Sebastian T — Google review
Homemade vegan ice cream here is so good, chicken has a great flavor too, felafel pockets with pickles are good as well.

wish i could give 0 stars, now named Byron Kebab shop, ordered food & it came wrong, staff said they couldn’t/ wouldn’t do anything. Food that did coke was dry and tasteless! waste of $40.

CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS HOURS. They always have really yummy fried chicken and fresh sandwiches. The staff are always really lovely. Very friendly and great service. But shut early. Full stitch up. 10 thumbs down with the false advertising

Hi, I'm taxi driver, today i had job to Byron Bay, i was hungry and i saw this shop on petrol pump, i stopped there to take something to eat then i went to this shop and don't have words to explain I never ate this chicken burger before, it's amazing flavour in chicken burger with spicy sauce and garlic aioli sauce. It's amazing rather than other food stores like mcdonald, hungry jacks and so on. I really want you open your this shop in Gold Coast. I will not forget front boy cute face with big smile, so polite and the beautiful lady and gentle man. Thank you for your service. If i will come back then i can't go back without take that my fav.chicken burger.
