Asian restaurant
Light Years in Byron Bay offers a modern Asian dining experience with a menu featuring share plates perfect for group dining. The dishes include prawn rolls, wagyu rump steak, and BBQ lamb ribs. The restaurant also serves popular cocktails like Netflix and Chill as well as new creations such as Kiwi Matcha Margi and Szechuan Sour. The venue has a vibrant atmosphere with a large terrazzo bar, cushioned booths, and terracotta tiles.
*** Highlights: Puts Sydney restaurants to shame. The experience was perfect. *** What we liked: The service was sincere, the rendang was not too heavy on the coconut cream, the firecracker chicken was not oily at all albeit a deep fried dish. The prices are very reasonable. *** Recommended? Pretentious Sydney has a lot to learn. I tipped highest amount possible.

Light Years never misses! We got the basic set menu & it ticked all the boxes. Perfect serving sizes, great range of dishes that covered all the favourites & everything was so good it was hard to pick a favourite. Staff lovely as always.

What a great place. Every element of this establishment has been thoughtfully curated. Earthy tones, welcome you with plenty of light to read the menu! The food is super tasty with well balanced fresh flavors throughout. Kingfish Ceviche, Mud Crab Dumplings, Tender Firecracker Chicken, Miso Caramel Eggplant, Special Fried Rice, Duck Pancakes and a fab Watermelon Salad to freshen the palate at meals end. Truly a feast that satiated on every level making it hard to pick a stand out dish. Good wine selection and attentive staff made the whole experience one to repeat again and again!

It was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, the food and service were so incredible. Worth every penny we spent! I would 100% recommend to anyone in Byron Bay! My partner and I chose the premium selection, I drank the Totara Sauvignon Blanc and wow was it incredible

What an amazing spot for drinks and dinner! We sat at the bar which I was a bit hesitant about at first… but it was so good! We had great convos with the bar staff and they were so attentive to us. Food was AMAZING! Definitely worth the hype 😍😍

One of the most beautiful restaurants in QLD. The staff is nice and friendly. The food was excellent and fresh. Really good experience overall.

Was blown away by the food and friendly service here! Came here with my family and we loved everything but my favourites had to be the pork belly bao and lamb ribs which were soo soft and juicy. 🥰

De-lic-ous!!! Stupendous even! We’ve been eating loads of south East Asian cuisine, however this truly is remarkable. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday as we had both flown in and we are both well travelled and quite big goodies and we were pleasantly gob smacked. Firstly the yuzu cocktail is Devine, not my normal style and f cocktail as I’m a whisky girl but it still got all ✔️s from me. Then the salmon ceviche is exquisite (make sure you scoop up the sauce with each bite). The kingfish ceviche with the pawpaw salad is a heavenly match and that salad is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Yes a big claim I know!! Whatever you have here, I think you’ll looove’ like we all did. The staff were so helpful. We had my gf’s daughter with us and the staff were super accommodating for her as well. So thanks team for making all our day extra special!

Modern Australian restaurant
Kiosk
Lunch restaurant
Beach Byron Bay is a stylish beachfront cafe and restaurant that offers a modern Australian menu. It is known for its delicious seafood options and provides a memorable dining experience with stunning coastal panoramas across the bay. The open-air terrace above Clarkes Beach makes it one of the best restaurants in Byron Bay for ocean views, perfect for special occasions.
Don't question it, just make the reservation, you won't be disappointed! There maybe multiple restaurants in Byron Bay, but there is NO OTHER as fantastic as Beach. When you see the portion sizes you will not question the price. The dishes are generous in size and flavour and the presentation is stunning. I was spoilt for choice when perusing the menu. A good reason to come back soon! The service is impeccable. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. They invest a lot of consideration and care in ensuring you have a wonderful experience. The mussel dish I chose for my entree was probably one of the best I have had from any restaurant. The combination and flavours are unique and delicious. Local Mulloway was my main course of choice, perfectly cooked and served with a light beurre blanc, crispy pancetta and salmon caviar. Both courses were complimented by a beautiful Gros Nore' Rose from the Bandol region of France. I chose Ruby Chocolate mousse for dessert which was again unique and delicious. The chef uses native raspberries from the local market in Byron Bay to perfectly cut through the sweetness and richness of the ruby chocolate. My husband's Rhubarb Mille Feuille was and I quote 'faultless' There was no sunset that afternoon, but a dark, stormy and menacing sky was our vista, making the ocean look like an aquamarine jewel. It was nothing short of breathtaking. I nosily saw a couple nearby ordering from the 'Happy Hour' menu and I was keen to learn further details from our wonderful server Alan. So that is next on the list, Happy Hour, possibly staying for dinner to enjoy the rest of the menu. God I love this place.

We just had the most amazing lunch at Beach. The food was sublime. Oysters, octopus and fish both raw and cooked. Every bite made better by the amazing view of the bay from our table. Thanks for a fabulous experience!
Shannon K — Google review
My family stopped in at Beach while we were traveling through Byron Bay and were welcomed without a reservation. Everything that happened after that was a comedy of errors, but I can say with earnest that this restaurant was a highlight of our trip. Sa was our waitress and was incredibly kind to seat us and allow us to wait with some cocktails for an hour until the kitchen reopened after a private event. While we were there, we had a glitch with our night’s accommodations, and since we were traveling from abroad, we asked to use the restaurant’s phone, and when that had issues, Alan very generously let us use his personal mobile to call our villa. Most importantly, the food was delicious. We had the yellowfin tuna starter and can understand why it is a signature dish. The sirloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the asparagus was also perfect - well cooked and still had the perfect snap to it. Last, the roast potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist inside. Finally, we had an issue with the payment system which resulted in us paying another table’s bill, but Alan flagged us down in the parking lot so we could get it straightened out. Through all of this, Sa was incredibly kind, warm, and assuring, apologizing profusely for our misfortune. We left wishing we were staying longer so we could try the rest of the menu. If we make it back to Byron Bay, Beach will absolutely be at the top of our list. Cannot recommend stopping here enough for a quality meal and warm environment.

Thank you for letting me sit after the long coastal walk to the easternmost tip of Australia and the lighthouse. I enjoyed an affogato with a local liqueur MAC by Brookie's. Recommended by the lovely waitress who was so welcoming. I loved it so much I bought a bottle to bring home to Melbourne

Where do we even begin. Planning a Byron wedding from Melbourne could’ve easily been stressful, but working with Belinda from day one made it an absolute breeze. She was so organised, helpful and just genuinely lovely to deal with. Nothing was ever too hard and she made the whole process feel seamless. Come wedding day, Sara took over and wow, she was incredible. Calm, collected and completely on top of everything. The day ran so smoothly and we honestly didn’t have to lift a finger. Now let’s talk about the food. The food and drinks were honestly deliciously good. From the canapés during cocktail hour right through to the mains, every single bite was a hit. So many of our guests came up to us saying it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and they weren’t wrong. The service staff on the day were amazing too. They were all friendly, professional and so switched on. And the venue itself... WOW. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Photos really don’t do it justice, you simply have to see it to believe it. It’s easily one of the most beautiful spots in Byron. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, the roof was open and we danced the night away under the stars. It was such a dream. We can’t thank the Beach Byron Bay team (especially Belinda and Sara) enough for helping us pull off the best day of our lives. It will always be forever in our core memories. If you’re thinking about getting married in Byron, this place is a no-brainer..!

Beach Café recently hosted our Zepto customer event, Beyond the Break. From the very beginning, Belinda was outstanding—her support, attention to detail, and dedication made the planning process seamless. On the night, the entire team was exceptionally professional, welcoming, and accommodating. And the food—absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted. We couldn’t recommend Beach Café more highly for anyone looking to host an event or popping in for a meal. A heartfelt thank you to Belinda and the whole team for your wonderful hospitality. The Zepto Team - Byron Bay

We couldn’t have had a better wedding experience. From the outset, Belinda was exceptional to deal with and gave us so much practical advice. On the day, Sara handled coordination perfectly and the venue, food, drinks, attention to detail and overall vibe was superb. Couldn’t recommend more highly. It was the perfect wedding.

There we only 8 other people here. We stopped in for a drink and something to eat after doing the lighthouse walk, really disappointed in the attitude, felt like an imposition we purchased a $9 bottle of water as we wanted some cold no glasses/cups offered again given 2 when there were 3 of us. When we tried to clarify the order name so as not to take the wrong one, again rude. Not helpful at all, shame because perfect location

Asian restaurant
Restaurant
Bang Bang Byron Bay is a trendy and intimate restaurant with a garden vibe, offering an eclectic menu of Thai fusion dishes and inventive drinks. The menu features classics like pad thai, Bangkok fried rice, and massaman curry, as well as smaller tapas-style dishes for sharing. The restaurant also offers an inventive cocktail menu with Asian-inspired themes. The ambiance is described as a refreshing sanctuary with dim lighting, and the service is praised for being attentive without being overbearing.
We had such a great time at Bang Bang in Byron Bay! The atmosphere is super fun and energetic, with amazing vibes all around. The staff were so lovely and the service was on point the whole night. The food was SO delicious! Everything is designed to be shared. We were honestly surprised at how generous the portions were—everything just kept coming! We’re big eaters and even we couldn’t finish it all. Had to take a doggie bag home, which says a lot. Really great value for money, especially considering how tasty everything was. The wine list is solid, but the cocktails are where it’s at—so many fun and creative options. If you’re visiting Byron and looking for a great place to eat, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. Such a good time! Note: We dined here December 2024

Last night we went to Bang Bang for my friend’s birthday and it was fantastic. Our waiter Douglas made our night so special. He was the best! The food was delicious. We had popcorn chicken, the Roti and prawn toast for entree and it was to die for! Best I’ve ever eaten and really filling. For mains we shared Pad Thai and a chicken curry and they were both so good. I had the Kokomo cocktail which was yummy and my friend had a special cocktail which they bought out with a sparkler for her birthday. We sat in a booth and the ambience was brilliant. Can’t recommend highly enough. We did book months in advance as it’s hard to get in but if you are going to Bryon please check it out.
Katie J — Google review
I had dinner here during my holiday and truly enjoyed the fish. The flavor was fantastic, with a pleasant spiciness that came not only from mild chilies but also from ingredients like pepper, onion, garlic, and shallots. Even with only a small amount of chili, the balance of flavors was excellent. The chef prepared the fish perfectly—crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. Just 30–60 seconds longer and it would have been dry, but this was spot on. However, we did encounter an issue, as we found a very long hair in the sauce, which seemed to be an accidental oversight in the kitchen. Despite this, I still give a high rating because of the chef’s skill in creating such a beautiful dish. I hope the restaurant takes more care in the future, as I would love to return and enjoy the food again without this problem. The service was also outstanding—our waitress provided fine-dining level service, with excellent English, great knowledge, and a genuinely warm attitude.

absolutely delicious food. 😍 our lovely waitress sarah (from portugal 🇵🇹) recommended a few dishes and they were all top notch. we had the sashimi and roti as a starter and pad thai, beef massaman curry and the bbq trout - perfect to share for 3 people. the absolute highlight was the dessert - banana and chocolate spring rolls. would recommend to anyone visiting byron bay 🙃

Absolutely amazing food. We had the sashimi for starter and was blown away. The beef brisket was so tender and fell apart gracefully as soon as the fork touched. The curry had a very aromatic flavour. Highly recommend!

Sonjae looked after us and was warmingly attentive and accomodating to our table. Love his energy. Food was also next level, the most insane meal I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the $$$
Lana M — Google review
Bang Bang Byron Bay brings a mouth watering punch of flavors. My wife and I had the dinner for 2 (small option) and it was almost too much for us. We are 5'1" and 5'6" so keep that in mind. Every plate was just right and outstanding. The king fish sashimi has a nice fresh flavor and reminded me of ceviche. The Korean Popcorn chicken was crunchy and flavorful. The sticky pork belly was soft and sweet. The smashed sesame cucumber was fresh and crispy. The braised beef massaman with Jasmine was remarkable with the chocolate smooth flavor and white rice to add a nice blend. This restaurant is a five star must for any local and any visitor. If you must wait in line please do have a drink elsewhere while you wait, it is worth the wait. 5 star quality service.

11/05/2025 Had a great meal here. Ordered the bug buns to start which were super tasty. For mains we had the beef rib, bbq barramundi and the mixed vegetables. All food was delicious but the beef came out first for the mains and it took a while for the fish to come which was disappointing.

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, No Bones is a vibrant plant-based eatery that champions the idea that ethical food can be incredibly delicious. With a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients, this culinary gem serves up an array of mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes that cater to all palates, including those who typically enjoy meat. The menu features innovative creations like crispy fried "chicken" with kung-pow sauce and oyster-mushroom souvlaki paired with almond skordalia.
We had the best time at No Bones! A friend recommended the restaurant to us, and after reading the reviews, it was an easy decision to go. We're not vegan and we eat meat occasionally, but we're used to plant-based meals, so we weren't surprised by how good everything was (because YES, you can create wonders with vegan food!). The dishes were absolutely delicious, and we really loved the cocktails too. We tried the Margarita, the Paradise Pearl, the Outback Sour and the Heat Wave (the Heat Wave was surprising! 🌶️) We ended up ordering so much food that we couldn't finish it all, but luckily we were able to take the leftovers home. We tried the bao buns during happy hour, the mac 'n' cheese, the crispy chicken, the organic focaccia, and the eggplant parmi. Everything was amazing; it’s hard to choose a favourite! We were too full to try the chocolate tart, which we regret a little... Service was exceptional, Yasmina was truly amazing. It was a bit chilly inside (winter time...), but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic evening.

We had an incredible dining experience at No Bones! We shared a selection of starters and small plates—every single dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was fast, friendly, and super accommodating. We brought our infant along and felt totally welcomed. We’re not vegetarians, but you’d never guess it from how much we enjoyed the food—it’s just that tasty! Easily one of the best spots in Byron Bay. Highly recommend!

Food is pure art here! Every dish is super creative and packed with flavor. Even my hard core meat- lover partner couldn’t believe it was all plant- based. We left totally impressed (and full! 😋). Staff were super friendly and took time to explain the inside of every dish. Only one request… please bring back the croutons in the Caesar salad!

I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be happier with my discovery! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with flexible seating that lets you choose your perfect spot whether you prefer the comfort of indoor dining or the fresh air of their outdoor area. Their menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering something for every taste. I decided to be adventurous and ordered two different main courses, and I'm so glad I did because both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were spot on and the quality was exceptional. What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service. The team was genuinely caring and made sure my dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Their attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. Being located in the town center makes this place incredibly convenient and accessible.

The most amazing vegetarian restaurant! The food was divine, the atmosphere great, the service impeccable! Will definitely return!!
Braydon H — Google review
Visited for dinner with my partner, we chose the gluten free tasting menu. The server asked about allergies and food restrictions before we ordered. The food is absolutely sensational. Neither of us have any dietary requirements, this is the second time we've eaten here. Brilliant flavours, thoughtful presentation and intentional combinations of textures. The Caeser salad was unexciting, the Beetroot ravioli were delicious. The chocolate tart was out of this world and who would know that wasn't actually fresh calamari? The drinks list is varied, with many beers, wines, cocktails, mocktails and spirits to choose from. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Rebecca W — Google review
We were there a couple of years ago and our re-visit certainly didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food full of flavours and well presented. If you enjoy vegetarian food I would highly recommend it.
Richard T — Google review
I had high hopes, but was severely disappointed. Service was slow, unfriendly, and drab. Food was uninspiring. I ordered the carbonara. Was lukewarm. Found a hair in my food & after confronting staff had to wait over 15 minutes for another plate, at which point I just wanted to pay my bill and leave. I’m sad to say that I don’t recommend this restaurant. There are many cheaper, much more inviting vegan restaurants to visit in Byron Bay.

Thai restaurant
Nestled behind Byron Bay's iconic Main Beach, Thai Lucy is a culinary gem that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since the 1990s. This charming eatery prides itself on crafting authentic Thai dishes using only seasonal produce sourced from nearby fishmongers and farmers. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, inviting you to stroll in with sandy feet and salty hair while enjoying your own beverages.
No oyster sauce, no chicken stock—everything truly vegetarian! This is rare for Thai restaurants, so we were thrilled. We enjoyed several vegetarian dishes and loved the food so much that we returned the next day for dinner. No wonder this place is packed every night! We had red curry, green curry, wild chili basil, and fried rice. Out of all the dishes, the wild chili basil was our favorite. Caution wild chili basil is really hot.

My friend and I had a great dinner at this Thai restaurant tonight! The atmosphere is very casual, nothing fancy, just good vibes and amazing food. You can tell it’s the real deal, especially since the kitchen is run entirely by Thai staff. I ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai, and it was absolutely delicious, it instantly brought me back to my time in Bangkok. The flavors were super authentic, simple, and perfectly balanced. If you’re looking for honest, quality Thai food at a great price, this is the place. Everything I tried was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommended!

Lovely Thai food with friendly and attentive service. We dined on a cold night (by Byron standards…😅) but were well-warmed by overhead heating, beautiful smiles and delicious food. Centrally located in vibrant Bay Lane, atmosphere is happy and cheery with delicious aromas everywhere! Highly recommended!

Japanese restaurant
Kinoko Japanese Restaurant is a trendy spot with exposed-brick walls, offering creative Japanese fusion dishes and a sushi train experience. The restaurant caters to gluten-free diners, with the exception of tempura. The establishment aims to share their passion for cuisine and hospitality with a diverse clientele, striving to exceed expectations by providing fresh and flavorful meals in a welcoming environment.
My partner and I have had nothing but fantastic experiences at Kinoko every time we visit Byron Bay. While the food is consistently great, what truly sets this place apart and makes it a memorable stop for us is the exceptional service. We've found that waitstaff at other local restaurants can sometimes be less attentive and slow to action requests, which is why Cal's service truly stood out. He was incredibly attentive on every visit, consistently going the extra mile to ensure we were happy with our meals. His dedication really ties the whole dining experience together, something rarely found in restaurants these days. I truly hope the owner reads this and values staff like Cal, who transform a good restaurant into a fantastic one. If you're looking for a restaurant in Byron Bay with delicious food and outstanding service, you absolutely have to visit Kinoko! #kakilang

We had a lovely salmon rice dish (the special) and although it tasted delicious, as soon as I got home I vomited it all. It was definitely the fish. I tried ringing them twice to let them know privately so they make sure to store the fish in a cold place but it rang out twice so I have to leave this review
Mira W — Google review
The food was just average — nothing particularly impressive or memorable. I suspect there may have been a change in ownership, as the Japanese sushi chefs have been replaced by Chinese staff. Unfortunately, service was also lacking. We ordered miso soup from the menu, but it never arrived, and the waitress didn’t seem confident or well-trained. There was no staff at the entrance to assist with seating, which added to the disorganised feel. This place used to be wonderful, but the new menu is underwhelming and the overall standard has noticeably declined. We even had to ask for a bottle of water, which really should be a basic part of the dining experience. Disappointing visit overall — I hope they can lift their game and return to their previous standard.

Be warned: meals may be around twice the size you are used to expecting! We suggest order in several small stages, or bring takeout boxes 🥡 Delicious 😋 and great value. Excellent friendly service.
Jeremy B — Google review
Very limited choice and that's fine so long as the limited choice is top notch, but it isn't. Very ordinary, and a top price is paid for 'ordinary.' I naively assumed if you were there for dinner and ordered from the menu it would be prepared fresh. I was a bit confused when the waitress advised me I could go inside and get more if I wanted more. Then, even though I'd ordered from the menu I was delivered plates from the train. Surely, if you're not going to prepare freshly, you could take the items off all the little plates and serve them, nicely arranged. If I'd wanted a sushi train I would've sat at it, or better still gone elsewhere with more choice. The chicken teriyaki main wasn't great, and the chicken was dry. The tobiko ship was very light on with roe. The spicy tuna nagiri was probably the highlight, but maybe just because it was a suitable helping for the money. The small spring rolls were mainly crispy pastry with a tasteless gloop inside. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff was so amazing every second during our late dinner! Thanks you so much to create such a wonderful place🧡🧡

Izakaya restaurant
Kura Byron Bay is a delightful haven for lovers of Japanese cuisine, offering an authentic izakaya experience in a warm and inviting atmosphere adorned with charming floating paper lanterns. This cozy spot is perfect for enjoying traditional dishes like ramen, gyoza, and domburi while soaking in the vibrant ambiance. The restaurant often draws crowds, especially on special nights like Ramen night when guests can savor rich tonkatsu broth paired with perfectly cooked noodles.
We love this place! If we feel like sharing dinner, we opt for the prawn gyoza, beef tataki, mixed grills, sushi combination and the wagyu sirloin steak. And if not usually the gyoza, edamame and ramen.. my favourite is the spicy miso add an egg.. Open kitchen with a hibachi grill is always a winner. They share their kitchen 2 nights a week with another epic ramen providers, so whatever night you rock up, you’re in for a treat.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The vibes and decor of the place was amazing. Everything felt so cosy and homey. I loved all the japenese decorations throughout the restaurant. It was all very pretty. The staff were also really nice and quick to service us. I really enjoyed the sushi that we ordered, it was very fresh and tasty. Although I didn't like the wasabi. And there was a little too much pickled radish for me too. The Gyudon was really nice as well however it needed an extra egg and a little less rice. Nevertheless, it was a really well marinated and flavourful meal.

Probably the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. They served us raw noodles in the ramen. The issue wasn’t just the food, but also the way the staff handled it, dismissive, careless, and clearly uninterested in hospitality. It’s sad to see a business run by people who neither enjoy nor care about what they do. Overpriced food, poor quality, and terrible service. If you’re considering eating here, do yourself a favor: avoid the disappointment and go anywhere else. You’ll be treated better and at least get what you pay for. The owners of this place should be ashamed.

After dining at Kura in 2019 and thoroughly enjoying everything about it, my husband I decided to try it again. We ordered miso soup, agadashi tofu, charcoal pork belly and crispy chicken with 2 types of sake. The miso, tofu and pork were scrumptious. The charcoal flavour of the pork was very authentic. The chicken wasn’t quite as crispy as we had hoped but overall was enjoyable. We had ordered edamame but these never arrived. Overall, was a good dining experience and could recommend.

There was a bit of a wait for the food, but considering it was the school holidays, it was totally understandable. I was seated in front of the chef, where I could watch the kitchen in action. Under the direction of the chef(who seemed to be the manager and was incredibly friendly) it was impressive to see all the staff working together as a team, each playing their part. The food was absolutely delicious, and the overall atmosphere and service were very satisfying. Honestly, I don’t understand why there are any negative reviews. If I visit Byron again, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Without a doubt, this is the best ramen I’ve had in Byron! The atmosphere is great, and the service was excellent and friendly. I loved that they serve Ramune, a nice touch that brings you back to Japan!

An amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with rich, balanced flavors and everything felt super fresh and well prepared. The place is cozy and calm. Perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was excellent: everyone was really kind and attentive. Great spot to go with a partner or friends and enjoy something different and tasty. I’d definitely come back!

Located on Jonson Street in Byron Bay, Street Sushi is a convenient spot for a quick and affordable meal while exploring the area's attractions. The restaurant offers dine-in and takeaway options, with specials like three rolls and a drink for $10. In addition to sushi, they serve juices and smoothies. Visitors praise the diverse menu featuring tempura, fresh rolls, and California rolls. Customers appreciate the freshness and taste of the sushi as well as the friendly and efficient staff.
The $12 lunch special is exceptional value. It value for money which is often rare these days. The sushi is being made constantly and the fresh juices are surprisingly delicious. I’d recommend the tropical juice especially if you’re going to walk along the beach. I’ve been here several times and the team are helpful, polite and great at what they do. Definitely give this place a visit it’s quick and easy.

Starting with the very friendly waitress, then the uncomplicated ordering process, and finally the delicious food. Everything was tasty and fresh. What a great find in Byron! It's definitely worth it.

The presentation was very nice in the cabinet. However the sushi we had was very like Australian taste instead of Japanese. The rice should be flavored with vinegar but they use normal rice. Chicken was good. Overall is ordinary.

Easy option for quick and cheap meal, we take our sushi’s to the pool nearby. They also offer catering and platters for birthdays, so handy! And delicious! Win with children 🙌

During these hard times sushi restaurants have been challenged by the shortage of ingredients. Somehow this sushi street has been able to keep going and even offers amazing deals! The sushi rolls were amazing and even the staff were kind and friendly.

One star more than minimum for the friendly staff during the busy time of new Year holidays and using non plastic boxes. But the other stars are missing for a very disappointing quality and the messy roles in the box.

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, Yulli's Byron Bay is a delightful haven for those seeking a relaxed dining experience. This charming spot offers an enticing blend of contemporary Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, all while focusing on plant-based dishes. With a menu that boasts vibrant flavors and creative options, diners can indulge in everything from ginger shiitake mushroom gyoza to turmeric cauliflower pad thai. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring sidewalk dining that enhances the laid-back vibe of this coastal town.
We spent a pleasant evening at Yulli's for dinner on a Saturday night. We had the $48 pp banquet menu which was good value. Great presentation, tasty dishes and excellent service. We had the paired drinks which included a cocktail, two wines and a sake, the standout of the four drinks being the sake. It's great to see that in these times, there is still quality food to be had at a good price.

I have been waiting an age to go here. It was so worth the wait, the food was amazing. Every dish absolutely delicious. The food ten star, the atmosphere was 3 only because the secret has not got out and there were not a lot of people dining. It was lunch on Saturday of the long weekend. What a hidden secret in Byron Bay. Can’t wait to go back to try different dishes.
Deb R — Google review
We ordered the Banquet Menu, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite suit my personal taste. I truly appreciate the restaurant’s fully vegan concept, which is commendable. However, I found many of the dishes to be overly sweet and heavily fried. My friend is a big fan and recommended the place based on her positive experiences. Given the many great reviews, it clearly resonates with a lot of people, it just wasn’t the right fit for me.
Esra A — Google review
This is a lovely vegan restaurant hidden away in delightful Byron Bay. The banquet came in 5 courses of wee fancies that were tasty and quirky. The non alcoholic warm cider is die for.. . Great to have a fab vegan restaurant. Ppl need to use them, experience them and patronise regularly. Cheers team.. 🍻 👏
Jot S — Google review
Couldn’t recommend enough!! We had the banquet for $45 each and it was a bargain for the amount of food we got. Every dish was delicious, and we had some leftover pad Thai to take home. A special mention has to go to the two desserts at the end. We were so full but nothing could have stopped us from demolishing them. Already planning to go back with family in the future!

An absolute gem in Byron Bay. Yulli’s delivers a fully vegan banquet experience that feels more like a global culinary journey than just a meal. Each course showcases techniques and flavours drawn not only from across Asia, but from all around the world – masterfully blended into a cohesive and elevated tasting menu. Coming from Hong Kong, I’ve grown up surrounded by complex and bold Asian flavours – so to find a restaurant in Australia that captures and reimagines those tastes with such skill honestly blew me away. My tastebuds were thrilled. The second course was a true standout: Sesame-crumbed shiitake mushrooms. The layers of flavour and texture were perfectly orchestrated – crunchy, savoury, bright, and deeply satisfying. And that final bite of pickled cucumber? An absolute stroke of brilliance – it tied everything together with a refreshing, zesty lift. (I sincerely hope this dish becomes a permanent fixture on the menu – it deserves to be.) The Korean fried broccolini was another highlight – bold, sticky, and tangy in the best possible way. It’s clear that this is not just about fusion for novelty’s sake, but a genuine, thoughtful celebration of culinary traditions, brought together with creativity and flair. If vegan food tasted like this every day, I’d go plant-based in a heartbeat. ♥️

Had lunch special with eggplant Banh mi and tofu souvlaki and had to go back for dinner! Everything is absolutely fantastic, enjoyed every bite, atmosphere and very fast service.

Absolutely delicious food. We had the banquet (one with matching drinks) and it was all very tasty. Great way to try out a lot of the menu. We ordered a couple more things too just because it all sounded amazing (and was). Will definitely come back to try more of the menu when next down that way. Pet friendly which was great, and most importantly, 100% vegan, which is why we chose it.

Tokyo Doll is a vibrant and captivating restaurant located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, with neon lights adding to the overall ambiance. The menu features incredibly fresh and delicious Asian cuisine, including must-try Vietnamese oysters and maki rolls. Diners rave about the fried chicken, salmon, and tuna tacos as well.
A great sophisticated restaurant and bar at the Paris end of Jonson street. Byron bay has plenty of grungy eateries but not many with an ambience of casual sophistication which it what this place has in spades. The wine list was eclectic and the food as tasty as it was different. The service was friendly and our waiter paired the wine perfectly with the food. Really recommend this one.

Honestly, this was one of the best Japanese dining experiences I’ve had in Australia💜 The aging and flavor of the sashimi were just perfect — incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared😋 I also loved the vibe — the staff were relaxed and interacted casually with customers, which made the experience even better😍 If I have time, I’ll definitely visit again😉 Highly recommended💚

We just spent 5 nights in Byron and ended up coming back to this restaurant every single night because it was that good. The Tokyo Doll Fried chicken is hands down the best food I’ve ever had. My partner worked his way through the menu and loved every dish. The food and drinks were amazing, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. What really makes this place stand out is the staff, every night we were welcomed with such warmth and looked after so well it made dining here feel special each time. By far our favourite restaurant ever!

Absolutely amazing place. Our favourite restaurant when visiting Byron Bay. Chilled but cool atmosphere. Not pretentious in ambience and food quality is to die for. We were so impressed with this place. Kingfish sashimi was stunning as was the sechuyan squid and dumplings. Great cocktails as well. Wonderful friendly service.

Sat at the bar for a few drinks and was served by Frazer — absolute legend! Great company, good yarns, and he makes seriously amazing cocktails. You can tell he really loves what he does. Definitely coming back!

I am a local fan! Tokyo Doll is not only the best Japanese restaurant in Byron Bay. It’s one of my top-3 among all eateries in NSW Northern Rivers region. Exquisite food, outstanding service (what I consider the most important factor), cool ambience. The staff always strive to accommodate walk-ins. The price is not in the “budget” bracket, but it is neither in the highest tags we see in the area. There, you get more than what you pay for.
