Southern restaurant (US)
Commerce Kitchen is a delightful culinary haven located at the bustling intersection of Franklin Ave. and Southside Square, where Southern charm meets contemporary flair. Since its inception in 2010 by Chef James Boyce, this cozy downtown gem has been serving up an enticing array of authentic Southern dishes that are both whimsical and comforting. The menu features a variety of small plates, seasonal entrees, and expertly crafted cocktails that highlight local ingredients.
Service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I had the salmon and my partner had the prime rib. I would highly recommend both! The cookie skillet was cooked to perfection for a tasty dessert.
Meagan T — Google review
Commerce Kitchen has been a staple in upscale dining in Huntsville for as long as I can remember. I'm not someone who does "fancy" too often so I've never had a chance to try it as other options have been more enticing on the rare occasion when we do want a finer dining experience. About two weeks ago I made plans to try Revivalist for lunch. I showed up there only to find their hours don't match what's posted on Google and they were closed for later lunch (~2:00 PM). I popped up the street to BeeZr and Poppy and Parliament. Also closed in the later afternoon. I was trying to kill time before an appointment and I really wanted to try a restaurant I'd never been to...so I strolled over to Commerce to find them open. Here goes! The entrance is actually on Franklin Street as opposed to the square, though there is a door leading out onto the square. I was seated promptly when I arrived. The restaurant was almost entirely empty except for one pair of older women. It's small and cramped inside and there's a row of seating in the aisle of the restaurant that I imagine would be very uncomfortable to sit in during prime time -- too much moving around. I wasn't dressed fancy at all and no one said anything, so that was nice for me. I was seated by a window with a view to the square, which I enjoyed. The decor is simple and classic -- just fine. The ladies' restroom is a one holer and clean. Displayed nearby is their recent health score. CK and other downtown establishments have been beset by iffy scores recently. This one read in the high 80s. Not absolutely a no-go for me personally, though you'd hope for better at an establishment like this in particular. CK is a James Boyce restaurant concept, as are many other upscale restaurants in the Huntsville area, especially downtown (to include Pane e Vino, Cotton Row, and Grille on Main in Providence). Honestly, I've historically not been terribly impressed with any of them, but I do always try to let each restaurant speak for itself. I was a little miffed to find the lunch menu here to be nearly identical to the lunch menu I got at Grille on Main when I visited about 2 years ago. I wish they'd freshen up the menu as well as at least provide a few differences between restaurants. Although I ordered the fried green tomato BLT at Grille on Main when I visited, nothing else on the menu really tempted me for lunch, so I ordered the same thing here. I also got a sweet tea to drink. Overall, I will say the fried green tomato BLT was about the same in quality. The tomatoes were sliced way too thick for my preference and the breading didn't bind super well and didn't have a lot of flavor. The pimento cheese was good but there wasn't enough of it. The bacon was cooked well and the bread was nicely toasted. One large improvement over GoM was the French fries. These didn't have the same super mealy frozen-fried texture like GoM did. They were also seasoned much better. The sweet tea needed both more sugar and more time steeping; it was very watery. Overall, the food was pretty average. On the bright side, lunch prices are more reasonable than dinner prices. One highlight of my experience was my waiter, Timothy. He was polite, attentive, and very pleasant. He wrote a kind thank you on my check and I noticed he had lovely handwriting. He was gracious with my compliment and we had a nice chat about how he does the lettering for the displays outside. Shout out to Timothy! I will likely continue to shop around the fancy restaurants in town. Still, this is a serviceable option for lunch downtown.
Bailey — Google review
How wonderful to have such an incredible place in Huntsville! I had the wedge salad and shrimp and grits. It was outstanding—creamy grits, a copious amount of bacon, such great fresh shrimp, and a sauce I will dream about. On the recommendation of our waiter, Timothy, my hubs had the ribeye (medium rare) and it was done to perfection. His Caesar salad was also a treat with the addition of a few ripe tomato chunks. We ordered a bottle of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc that was crisp and so SO good! We will certainly be back, look for Timothy, and try some new treats from the menu. I cannot recommend Commerce Kitchen enough! It’s worth the reservation or the wait!

Ate here with a group of friends. I had Shrimp with Grits and bacon. Simply delicious. One person enjoyed the trout fish meal. Others ordered the bisque lobster soup, chicken sandwich and pasta dish. Everyone liked their meal except the pasta dish. It had tomato sauce plus creme sauce too. She just felt it was way too spicy hot. In the historical district, it had a beautiful interior with chandeliers. There is outside dining as well on the side walk. I was visiting the city. If in town again, definitely would dine here again.

My husband and I went here for the first time on a Friday evening and sat at a high top by the bar. Everyone was very friendly and personable, but Karlie was our server and she was so sweet! She made some great recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they did not disappoint. We split a wedge salad, I got the rigatoni alla vodka, husband had the pork chop and split the seasonal bread pudding. So yummy! Will definitely be back.

We were visiting the area and decided to walk around the downtown area and check it out. We happened upon Commerce Kitchen and were so glsd they could seat us. We both got the filet, anf I added the brussel sprouts. Everything was absolutley amazing. The bread pudding and coffee for dessert was the perfect ending. Our waitress was so sweet. We will definitely be back once we move.

Snagged a last minute reservation at a bar table. Husband has the meatloaf weekday special and said it was excellent. I had the short ribs ravioli and it was also good. It was a bit noisy in the bar area with staff coming and going, but still enjoyable. Cocktail was excellent. We will go again soon.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a late lunch here 3 days ago. What a great place! Food was yummy. Atmosphere wonderful. Staff exceptional. Shout out to Crystal! She took exceptional care of us, was chatty, informative, and very welcoming!

Restaurant
Walton's Southern Table, located in Huntsville, Alabama, offers a contemporary yet relaxed atmosphere to enjoy down-home Southern meals like fried chicken and meatloaf. The restaurant provides a wide variety of side dishes to complement their classic southern dishes. Customers can indulge in delicious desserts such as the Lemon Ice Box Pie. Known for its speedy service, reasonable prices, and tasty food, Walton's Southern Table is a popular choice for American comfort foods in the area.
Walton's serves lots of Southern classics. The fried green tomatoes are a must try. I would eat here again just for them. They are seasoned with a nice crunchy breading. The sauce it comes with is also delicious. I tried the chicken fried chicken. It was juicy and tasty with a white gravy. The gravy was flavorful but tasted more like a breakfast gravy. I really enjoyed the sweet potato casserole. It was sweet without tasting like a dessert. The hashbrown casserole was cheesy and creamy, as was the macaroni. I was not a fan of the yeast rolls.

I wanted to give this place another shot before I left a review. Went once during lunch while at work with a coworker, another time on President's Day with my wife and kids. Both times I visited we were promptly seated. The average age of the customer here is about 60; makes for some quiet meals which can be good. Not really date night but they have a very loyal customer base of older Hunstville residents who love the food. The food is primarily southern-style cooking: fried chicken, baked chicken, Mac-n-cheese, green beans, yeast rolls etc. Very much channels the home cooking vibe but tends a little more cafeteria to me. Our service has been excellent each time, most recently Samson was our server and he was excellent. Just the right amount of attentive and not pushy at all. Food was a meh for me. My wife and kids liked it, as did my coworker, but I was not a fan. I wouldn't personally choose to go back here but wouldn't veto it. They were out of chicken tenders for the kids meals when we visited most recently, which is weird because they had fried chicken and roast chicken -- I guess it isnt a high demand item and they buy frozen perhaps? They were also out of the printed kids menus (which were available as a PDF on their website) so this just goes to show you who the core demographic for customers happens to be.. Either way, both of my kids chose to get a bowl of mac and cheese, I got the Southern Fried Chicken and the wife got the Veggie plate. Wife said her food was good for the most part, I enjoyed the fried chicken more than I did the chicken and dressing on the previous visit. My fried chicken was mixed, I enjoyed one piece and wasn't a fan of the other. I am definitely NOT a fan of thr mashed potatoes. They include some skin in the potatoes and they have a thick consistency, I honestly think Idahoan makes better. The green beans and the corn was pretty decent. Wife really liked her strawberry and walnut salad (which was more akin to a jello brownie than a salad, definitely do some research before ordering). I am not a fan of the corn bread (unsweet and tends toward dry with minimal flavor), there yeast rolls is better. They have a few bottled beers and some wine, which is nice. Coke products to drink. Worth a shot but go with mid expectations and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. If you're over 60, this could be your new favorite spot :D

#Vegetarian. Our group of four visited on a Saturday afternoon and found plenty of open seating. The restaurant has a lovely Southern charm décor and a calm, relaxed vibe--perfect for enjoying conversation with friends. Service was friendly but a bit inexperienced. Our waitress wasn't sure about some menu details (such as whether the vegetables were cooked with meat or meat stock) and forgot one side order. The food itself was a mixed experience. The sides reminded me of cafeteria-style fare (similar to Piccadilly's). The macaroni and cheese tasted like it came from a box, with a liquid cheese sauce, and my meal arrived lukewarm. On the positive side, my husband really enjoyed his salmon croquettes, calling them "delicious." Overall, Walton's offers a pleasant, quiet atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food and service could use some polishing to match the beauty of the space.
Shirlean S — Google review
I ordered the grilled chicken with fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and Mac & cheese for lunch. The sides were great, especially the fried green tomatoes. The grilled chicken didn't taste or feel fresh. It was rubbery and bland. It made me feel like it had been previously cooked and just microwaved or heated up. I did order a ToGo meal for my partner, and the packaging was pretty impressive. The meal was pretty hefty, so I didn't order dessert. I would like to come here again, and do recommend this establishment. Next time, I'll get the chicken and dressing.

Good food and great staff! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Great portions! The waitress was helpful and attentive. Definitely stopping by again when we travel through the area!

Walton’s is our go to spot for meat and 3. The good is always great and the service is on time. We utilize the take out often. The service is very quick. I’m partial to the Rosemary Chicken, but the Pot Roast, Salmon Patties, and Meatloaf are also very good.
Todd P — Google review
I had the catfish with two sides, black-eyed peas and cold broccoli salad. It also came with hushpuppies. The catfish was great and the sides were really good. The hushpuppies were a little dense. I really had hoped that they had some sandwich options.
Jennie R — Google review
Great location with easy access, this is a wonderful southern cooking, comfort food restaurant. With plenty of seating and attentive professional staff, we always get consistently great food here. Country Fried Steak, Fried Catfish, Chicken Fried Steak, add some mashed potatoes, fried okra and turnip greens and you are set. We’ve tried everything on the menu and ended with the chocolate pie and have left completely satisfied. I would definitely say yes, do try Waltons.

Baumhower’s Victory Grille in Huntsville is a vibrant sports-themed eatery that captures the spirit of Alabama football fans. Founded by former NFL player Bob Baumhower, this lively venue boasts an impressive array of TVs, making it the perfect spot to catch all the action on game day. The menu is a delightful mix of classic pub fare and hearty entrees, featuring fan favorites like their signature wings, Gooey Fries, and made-from-scratch onion rings.
The wait was 45 minutes, but the food and service are worth it. The fried pickles are delicious - the best I have ever had. We had a table of seven, everyone was happy with their meals. You can not go wrong their wings and burgers. Their salads and chilli are excellent. The banana pudding dessert thing (forgot name) is huge! It feeds two to three people. The beer selection is also great. The Mango Cart beer is an A+! The prices are low. Highly recommend.

Check in-process was good with the option to track live status online. Although they were very busy, our party of 7 was seated within 10 minutes. Management and service was top tier. Very versatile menu. Good food. Very reasonable prices. Different managers completed table visits to make sure everything was okay. Definitely a great spot for the family.

First time here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious and we'll be coming back to sample more of the menu! The blackberry bramble cocktail is magnificent!! The mahi-mahi tacos were a little dry, but our waiter brought more sweet Thai chili sauce and that fixed the problem. Highly recommend!
Meghan M — Google review
Service was the most polite I've ever seen, making me feel more welcome than I would even at my own home, thank you Tyler. Although I came to watch the Final Four this was much more than a sports bar. Even surprised to get Thai food.

I went for a drink after a rough day, I believe the bartender name was Tameka, I requested a side car which she had not made before. I love how she was willing to look it up and although they didn’t have the proper liquor offered a substitute and the drink was awesome! One and I was good to go. I finished before I could think of snapping a picture lol sorry

We ordered the fried mozzarella (which is made from scratch), two burgers and the pot roast philly cheese steak on naan bread. Our food was fast and DELICIOUS!!!! Have to come back again just for the pot roast and mozzarella. Our server Katie was on top of everything. We never had to ask for extra napkins or refills. We thought it and it just appeared. However the woman’s restroom looked more like a truck stop restroom. The bathroom was dirty and the floors were slippery.

Edit (8/9/25 Visit) So, after speaking with Gail, one of the partners, we decided to give it another chance. We were served by Caroline, who did an amazing job, give her whatever she wants, a raise, more hours, a promotion, time off, whatever, she deserves it. She did great. You really couldn't ask for a better server. Overall, everything was good. It really was. The fried mozzarella app was really good, if a little oily, but that's kind of to be expected, not complaining. But it was definitely good. My dinner was good. Overall, I'm more impressed with the ownership and staff in their willingness to make even the smallest of unhappiness right. That was impressive. Good work on that. This is going to be a very mixed review. It was a very mixed experience with my pick-up order and I will just be as organized as possible about it. I'll go down the order, I guess. This was mine and my wife's 14th anniversary dinner. I had the naan shrimp po'boy. The po'boy itself was actually really good. The shrimp was cooked just right, seasoned well, the remoulade sauce was delicious (it could have stood to have a little more on it), the lettuce was...lettucing or something. I would have loved the option to leave off the tomatoes, but there's no substitutions or omissions allowed, which is a bit ridiculous. The fries were terrible. They tasted like they were just pulled out of the bag, unthawed, brought to a little above room temperature and then left. Granted, I expected cold fries with a carry-out order, but these were just... underwhelming. Also, I think they had salt substituted on them by the back of house for air because they were completely bland, as well. Up next, my wife had the Gooey Wingfinger Bowl. She said she really enjoyed the chicken, the sauce on it was great, and it was cooked beautifully. Again, the fries were inedible. Last of the meal plates was our 12 year old. They said it was good, liked everything, but kids aren't always very nitpicky, especially when it either involves fries. Finally, the dessert. This was by far the most disappointing thing. Beignets Ala'bama. I'm from Louisiana, grew up around po'boys, etoufee, jambalaya, gumbo, crawfish boils, and of course, beignets. This was not even close to that. I've no idea what this was, how the dough managed to be both hard and stale at the same time, or poofed up but totally empty inside, either. They should be soft, pillowy, full of that yeasty goodness and a little bit crunchy at the edges. The only thing this had going for it was copious amounts of powdered sugar. Absolutely no one ate them. I was genuinely happy with the main course dishes, seriously. But aside from that -pun intended- everything else ell

The food here is great. Location is convenient to downtown. Was a little skeptical of the Alabama white BBQ sauce at first but decided to give it a go. Turned out to be delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked as well. Very tender and juicy. The gooey fries were a great appetizer. A must try in Huntsville if you are a fan of sports, bars and chicken.

MELT Huntsville is a relaxed restaurant located at The Avenue Apartments, offering classic comfort food with a modern twist. Guests can enjoy toasted sandwiches and a patio with heaters for outdoor dining. The menu features signature sandwiches like the Ragin Cajun, Classic Cuban, and Flyin Hawaiian. Additionally, MELT provides refreshing drinks such as Peach Sangria and Southern Sweet Tea. The Honey Baked Goat Cheese is highly recommended from their sharable menu.
We loved this place!! It was our first visit and the food was delicious and the service was excellent!! Our server Lara was so helpful offering recommendations and taking great care of us while Shelly the hostess was super welcoming and was very accommodating with our seating request. I enjoyed the pesto chicken sandwich and my husband loved the meatball sub! They have a fun little outside play area for the kids and overall it is just a fun place to hang out! The drink selection was awesome too! I really enjoyed the pear cider!! We will definitely be back!!

We were passing by Huntsville and googled for popular restaurants. Melt came up and we gave it a try. In a nutshell, if Melt is the best that Huntsville has to offer from food perspective, then what they say about Birmingham being much better is totally true. The atmosphere was great and so were the service. But the food was average and without much character. The Reuben could be one of the worst I’ve ever had: barely ANY meat on it. Also no or minimal 1000 island dressing… It was a joke. Side tomato and cucumber salad was old and tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for days. The fried food was good, the tater tots and pickles were fried to perfection and fresh. Beer selection was good. Service was acceptable. But the sandwiches were definitely soulless and tasteless. Melt as a restaurant has a long ways to go if they want to be a top representation of this otherwise cute city.
Ali K — Google review
I had a really enjoyable experience at MELT Huntsville. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made it even better. Our server Jeanette was fantastic, professional, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic. They greeted us with a smile, made us feel welcome, and offered great menu suggestions that helped us choose our meals with confidence. We tried the Honey Goat Cheese, Pesto Chicken, and the Patty Melt. The flavors were solid across the board. The Pesto Chicken had great taste, but it was a little dry. The real standout was the Patty Melt, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. It definitely exceeded expectations. One small thing that affected the overall experience was a bit of discomfort while dining, possibly due to being seated near an outdoor entry point. It’s a minor issue, but something to be aware of depending on where you’re seated. MELT HUNTSVILLE delivered on great service, a friendly vibe, and satisfying food. I’d absolutely return, just hoping next time the environment is a little more comfortable to match the quality of everything else.

We went for lunch. Our server Pinky was great, she was very attentive and provided great service. Food was very good. Fried pickles are the best I’ve had. I was tempted to try the summer drink menu because they sounded so good. It wasn’t a very hot day so I decided against it. The fried Oreos are delicious but very big. I think one per person is plenty!

Had an amazing experience at Melt in Huntsville, AL! The vibe was great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor—you can really tell they care about quality. They offer a variety of creative sandwiches and serve all-day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. What stood out most was the exceptional customer service. Our waitress Kat and the manager Stacy were both incredibly sweet, attentive, and pleasant—they truly made us feel at home. This place has a real family-friendly feel, with board games and patio games that kept everyone entertained. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, laugh, and enjoy great food with great company. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely be back.

Great place to stop by for a meal. I got the appetizer with chicken salad and pimento cheese with crackers. It was just what I wanted something light to eat. You do have to go downstairs to get to it. I ate outside enjoying the sunny day. But they also have many tables inside.

Had a great lunch. The patty melt is super tasty. The fried pickles are deeeelish! The mac-n- cheese egg rolls are so good as well. The server was attentive and friendly. I believe his name was John. The bartender made me a michelada per my request. It wasn't on the drink menu. She did a great job. The drink hit the spot as well. I had 2 friends with me from out of town they loved it as well.

Love the open atmosphere! We shared fried pickles and they were the delicious! Easily the best part of our meal. I had a Rueben with Tots. The Rueben was full of flavor, but I thought the sauerkraut had an odd taste. I can’t remember if my wife got the chicken pesto or the bacon ranch with fries. She liked it! The fries and tots came out hot and tasty! I would return to try other menu items.

Urban Cookhouse is a casual eatery that emphasizes locally sourced ingredients in its sandwiches, salads, and entrees. The Huntsville location also offers catering services for weddings, including rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, and receptions. Customers praise the flavorful food at reasonable prices and commend the attentive service. While some find certain menu items slightly pricey for their portion sizes, others recommend dishes like the White BBQ Chicken Sandwich and Broccoli Salad with sunflower seeds and bacon.
Great place for a light dinner. Everyone raved about the broccoli salad and I can understand why. The kids particularly liked their homemade strawberry lemonade.

Good food and quick service. You order and pay at the register, they give you a number and deliver the food to your table. They also bus your tables afterwards so good to leave a tip at the time of ordering. Good portions

The gastronomic experience at Urban Cowboy was adequately pleasing, as the culinary offerings provided a satisfactory level of gustatory delight. The overall ambience of the establishment artfully evoked a palpable sense of the rugged and untamed spirit of the Western frontier, thereby imbuing the dining experience with a distinct and captivating aura. The avian gastronomic creation, though not exuberantly exceptional, met the criteria of acceptability, delivering a palatable and sufficiently enjoyable gustatory encounter. The culinary craftsmanship employed in the preparation of the poultry dish was evident, albeit not reaching the pinnacle of culinary artistry. In summary, while not reaching the heights of culinary excellence, the meal at Urban Cowboy managed to sufficiently satiate the discerning palate.

I had chicken with rice pilaf and salad. Everything was delicious. In service I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because they took a while to bring the food, not sure why.

As a Huntsville Realtor, consistent quality and service are of high importance to me. Urban Cookhouse delivers with excellence in both regards! My family and I consistently visit both Huntsville locations and consider it one of our favorite restaurants to drop by when we are out around town. My kids love the options on their menu and are always excited to go back -- which is always a plus. I am always looking forward to going back!

My work gets Urban Cookhouse catered for meetings sometimes. It's always been just 'Ok' so I decided to check them out for lunch with my wife and kid and give them a sit down shot. My restaurant experience was pretty meh. $45 for lunch for 3 people. It's a fast casual place that's very busy due to the nearby Arsenal. We ordered quickly and got our food quickly. I got the Lime Marinated Steak and Rice, wife got the fresh fruit and chicken salad, kid got the chicken strips. The best part of the Lime Marinated Steak and Rice was the rice. It was great. Sadly a small portion. The 1/4th of a roll they gave me was also good. The steak was.. not good. It was served with peppers and onions and reeked of char.. like they used liquid smoke and soaked it. I gave a piece to the wife and she said the same thing without any input from me. There were no char marks on the outside. Peppers and onions were soggy. Salad was regular and unremarkable. Wife's fruit and chicken salad was OK. I thought the chicken salad tasted like mayo with a little salt. No fruit elements. There was a bunch of fruit on the plate (grapes, pineapple, melon etc) which was good, but the melon had a dirt taste. My wife said she wouldn't come back here and usually she's pretty forgiving. Kid's chicken strips were not breaded (healthy!) but over cooked and a tad dry. She was not enthused. Came with fruit. Not worth the price of admission and there way better options nearby. Pick somewhere else.

Restaurant
Betty Maes is a lively, family-owned eatery that serves up delectable soul food and Southern cuisine in a casual setting. Originally gaining popularity at local farmers markets, the owners of Earth & Stone Wood Fired Pizza decided to establish their own restaurant. At Betty Maes, patrons can indulge in generous portions of classic Southern dishes such as meatloaf, fried chicken, and pot roast along with an array of sides and signature desserts like Honeybun cake and sweet potato pie.
Looking for some good soul food and this was definitely the place. Food seasoned exceptionally well. Super busy when they opened at 11:00a on Sunday morning. They were out a bunch of stuff but what we got was really good! I highly recommend you check them out!

I visited twice before writing this review. I also previously frequented both G's and Sac's Kitchen. I will say this place is the best of the three!!! What I loved... the catfish it is the best ever the outside is crispy the inside is soft and tender) absolute perfection, yams are just right, couple it with the cabbage and the cornbread. Then finish it off with red velvet cake or peach cobbler you can not go wrong. Pardon my pictures, I went on two different days. The first time I went, I had catfish, yams, and greens. I was really hungry by the time I made it home, and I started eating before I took the pics. So that is not how your food comes for the fish plate. What I liked was the chicken and dressing (it was a little salty but still edible). I had dressing at other places, and it just was not right. The flavor profile here is the closest I have found to my homemade dressing. The chicken was tender falling off the bone, and it was good. The greens were okay, but I prefer the cabbage. The things I tried but will not order again...the menu says banana pudding but I noticed the young lady wrote down cookies...so I am guessing it should be cookies with banana pudding drizzle or something but it was not banana pudding. I like baked mac n cheese, so this type is not my jam. Overall, this is my go-to Soul Food place. The food is good, the people are nice, did I mention the food is good? The icing on the cake is for the price you pay for your meal, it also includes a drink and dessert. You have to come check out Bettie Maes!!!

If you want to eat food like your grandma used to make, this is the spot.. I can't praise the chicken and collards highly enough. The yams were a little sweet for my personal preference, but don't you dare think I didn't eat all of them... I'm looking forward to getting back in there for lunch next time I'm on that side of town. These folks know what's up in a kitchen.

This was my first visit to Betty Mae’s and it was a pleasant experience! The restaurant was clean, the customer service was good and the wait wasn’t long at all! You definitely have to come early if you want certain items though. They were out of pound cake and meatloaf. The chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection and the banana pudding and sweet potato pie were delicious! The only complaint that I have is that my black eyed peas were a bit salty and cold. I’d definitely dine here again!

Oh my goodness this is soul food at its finest!!! I’m so glad we googled and found this spot on our travel north! The fried chicken is literally the best I’ve had! The collard greens were amazing as was the Mac and cheese, green beans, Cole slaw and potato salad! The cornbread was on point and the lemonade was fire! The ice tea was amazing and then we had dessert! The honeybun cake is nothing less than a home run as was the banana pudding! My lawd have mercy this place is beyond good!!!😊 🤤

The Holy Grail of southern food!! I can’t even begin to describe how good it is. I need more than 5 stars to rate it. I’ve been searching for this food for decades since I had to leave my southern home. I’ve traveled all over the south on vacations searching for the food I remember from my childhood and have never found anything as good as what I had growing up in Mississippi-UNTIL NOW!! And believe me, I have eaten at A LOT of southern restaurants. The fried chicken was the best I’ve ever had in my life. And I grew up mostly in Mississippi so that’s saying a lot! The turnip greens would make my southern grandmother jealous! Believe me, you won’t be disappointed in anything here!!

I traveled from Guntersville to find out they were closing for the day. The owner actually opened the business back up for me to place my order!! That has NEVER happened and I'm so appreciative for their hospitality! That's how you run a business!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AND THE FOOD WAS AWESOME!!

I wish i could give this place 100 stars. Very unassuming location but let me tell you.. outstanding in every possible way. Delicious food, amazing value, great people, and welcoming atmosphere. This is a gem just like the people who visit this location i got greeted even by the customers. Theyve streamlined the service and everyone behind the counter is amazing. I had the fried chicken- crispy yet juicy and tender and the portions are not for the weak. The mac was amazing the candied yams will be callin me in my dreams! The greens were tender but not mushy still had a bite and flavorful to the max! Get the corn bread and please do your taste buds a favor and go with the red velvet! (The sweet potato pie was recommended by a young lady behind the counter and i got it on my first visit she was right it was amazing as well) theres a special mix for the drinks that was out of this world so was the sweet tea . I will come back to this place everytime im in town.

If you're in Huntsville, make sure to stop by Super Chix on Memorial Parkway for a delightful culinary experience that perfectly balances sweet and savory flavors. This charming eatery specializes in chicken sandwiches, offering options like Nashville Hot and Blackened Cajun, all of which pair beautifully with their creamy, house-made custard—ideal for those warm summer days.
First time here and happened upon this place on accident and decided to try it. It's one of our Favorites now!! They have REAL chicken tenderloin tenders cooked fresh with the BEST home cut fries ever! All their sauces are Great and homeade!! Friendly staff and the Restaurant is very Clean! LOVE THIS PLACE!! If you are in Huntsville, try it! ❤️
Amy J — Google review
I enjoyed my meal but I would not eat here again if I had a choice. Nashville Hot is a fickle mistress. One that's difficult to get right. You really have to have a fine balance between the heat and good flavor. Unfortunately Super Chix decides to go full on heat which does leave the flavor lacking. The fries are plentiful and pretty good and my wife's chicken sandwich was large and she enjoyed it. Service was good, very friendly folks. The prices are pretty insane I will say that. Very expensive. They also advertise jumbo chicken tenders but take a look at the photos and let me know if you think that the ones I was served really deserve that moniker. There are certainly better places to get chicken in Huntsville. I personally was disappointed based on the high review score. The group we ate wish shared similar sentiments, especially regarding price.

We had the chicken tenders, fries and coleslaw. This is our 4th visit with consistent excellent food quality and service! The restaurant is always clean and well maintained.

Great food and service! This was our first time eating here and it did not disappoint! Staff are very helpful and kind. Very clean and neat! I am not a fry person but I liked their fries because they were small and crispy. They are homemade fries. A regular size fry was enough for me and my husband both. My Dr Pepper was really good! Totally recommend!
Treasea M — Google review
Went here for lunch today for the first time, I’ve had catering before but never come myself in person. I was truly impressed! Customer service and overall atmosphere were both wonderful. Everything came out way faster than we were expecting— it was HOT and SUPER fresh, and absolutely delicious. We got chicken tenders, fries, and a buffalo chicken sandwich. We also tried all of the sauces and there literally wasn’t a bad one in the bunch! We don’t live close by but this will definitely will be somewhere we will come back to if we’re in the area!
Kirsten B — Google review
Best chicken place around, hands down! The food and service were excellent. Everything was fresh and hot, my chicken was moist, and my fries were crispy. The employees were super friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the music was a little loud for my taste, but easily tolerable. Overall, an excellent experience!
Gina G — Google review
I ordered 3 things. Tenders, salad and fries. I was asked about whether I wanted salt on my fries. Yes. How many of the dressings I wanted. 4 What did I get? Salad and Tenders. No fries, no sauce. 33% of my order is missing. I got back to my hotel, parked in a parking garage, and presented my husband who wasn't feeling up to going out, with ½ a meal, while I ate a dry salad. Do I blame myself for not emptying out the entire to go bag on their counter to see if it was right? Sure. (I could have held up the ordering line, if there was one. But there wasn't. Not one order after me, so not busy.) The real blame, is not having a simple ck list to ensure the order is correct. I saw a mgr come out and look around the dining area while I was waiting. Perhaps next time he could actually get involved in managing. Thanks for a miserable experience and stealing my money for food you didn't prepare for me.
Lisa Z — Google review
Hubby and I went for an early dinner today, he said I would be happy with the food, but this restaurant far surpassed my expectations. We both ordered the 4 piece fried chicken tenders and salted fries, I got my fries loaded. Everything here is cooked to order, so make sure you have the time to wait. Even with it being made to order, it took less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered till we got our food brought to our table. The tenders were delicious, the breading was well seasoned and the chicken was nice and juicy. And the fries...holy moly!!! A regular order is huge! The queso was so good. And let's talk about the service here. While we were eating, a young man came over to make sure everything was good and he offered us a complimentary scoop of their custard. When we were done, another worker came and took our trays away. This is definitely a restaurant we will be adding to our roster. He loves this place and I do too now.

Fast food restaurant
Tenders in Huntsville is a local legend known for its mouth-watering Big Daddy combo. Founded in 1996, this fried chicken joint serves up classic Southern food with a focus on quality over quantity. The menu features tenders, wings, and salads, all prepared to perfection. The warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a delightful dining experience where every bite of their tender and juicy chicken is a flavor explosion.
This location has great coleslaw. Which is different at other locations for some reason. I love the Tenders sauce and chicken strips here. It's a different type of batter/breading on the chicken....just fyi. They also have grilled chicken. Which is what my husband gets. They are always fresh and juicy! It's always clean and the staff are all very nice and helpful.
Bobbie B — Google review
I would recommend coming here at least once. I would also recommend you check your orders as well. The tenders are amazing. The batter is flaky and has a hint of pepper. The size of the tenders were smaller than I expected, but they did fill me up. I ordered 10 tenders and a side of fries. I think the side of fries is worth the cost, around 3 bucks. The tenders, though, were under size for the cost around 12 bucks. I took a picture, and they counted that tiny tender into the total of 10. The sauces are the typical flavors. I had the honey mustard and honey gold sauces. The honey gold was better than I expected, not a big fan of mustard flavor bbq sauces. The honey gold was served in a plastic container and tasted like they mixed honey mustard with a little bbq sauce. I would get the honey gold again. Building needs work. It looks like someone ran into the building. Interior is also dated but functional. I am a big guy both in height and gut, and I could barely fit in the booths. Now for the one bad thing. The service could have been better. I would highly recommend you cech your order before you sit down or leave. When I got to my car and went to eat, I was missing my side of fries. While I was waiting for my fries, there was another mistake. Someone asked for double fries instead of slaw and fries. They were charged for two fries. It appears I went when there was training happening. So I only took off one star. The guy running the window should be checking the orders, and that is why I took off one star.

I went through the drive through at the Wynn Dr location & picked up a grilled tender salad for lunch. The salad had 3 small grilled tenders, 4 small salad tomatoes, 5 cucumber slices & a little cheese sprinkled on top of iceberg lettuce. The cucumbers were so bitter that I couldn’t eat them, picked them off. They gave me 3 packs of crackers, all of them were stale. It’s been a while since I have been there & after paying over $10 for a salad like that I will not be returning. I will wait in the long lines across the street @ Chick Fil A the next time I want a grilled chicken salad.

Welcome to Sac's Kitchen, a beloved gem nestled in Huntsville that serves up mouthwatering Southern soul food. This charming café is not just about delicious dishes; it also plays an important role in supporting the homeless community. With signature offerings like Fried Green Tomatoes and freshly cooked Fried Chicken, each bite transports you back to cherished family gatherings filled with love and warmth.
I am never disappointed whenever my sister recommends a place!😁 Sister came through! It was a line out the door but the wait was not too long. The place is a bit small but that did not deter me from wanting to try out a restaurant I have not been to. Everything on the line looked good. I chose the lemon pepper chicken and dressing. The food was seasoned pretty good and I feel as though I got my money's worth. The staff was friendly and I will be coming back whenever I am in the area again.

This is a great little soul kitchen. You order at the bar and seat yourself or take it to go. I had a patty melt and fried green tomatoes and it was delicious. Also had some catfish and pinto beans and mac which were all so good. Even my son at all his food. I also loved seein how helpful the staff was and how they help the guests at the tables as well with disabilities. Great place.

First I’ll say that their catfish fillet is awesome. After waiting 15 min just to place my order. It went downhill from there. Order 1 catfish plate and a fried pork chop plate. Sign says to allow 15-20 min. There is no where to sit and wait so I placed my order and went to my car. Waited 18 minutes and went back inside. Stood another 10 minutes before asking whats the status. The lady tells me that they have online orders too and only one space to fry fish. Ok but I’ve waited the time and now I’m standing….in heels. Another 5 minutes and someone in the back tells her it will be 8 minutes. Ok so now we’re over 30 minutes since I placed the order. Eventually I asked if I can get a refund and leave. The lady told me that only a manager can do it and no one is there to do it. How awful is that type service!! I refuse to believe that no one in the restaurant can fix register issues. So I had to either wait or leave without food. I considered just leaving and disputing the charge with me cc company but wanted to be fair. Finally get it and check my plates in the car. The attached pictures show how over cooked and old that pork chop is. Absolutely no way I waited 40 minutes just to get this. Wasnt even hot or fresh. To make things worse, I get home to realize that I have cranberry sauce but they forgot to put the darn dressing on the plate!!! Candied yams looks like running mushed potatoes. Nope, I can’t condone this type service or recommend anyone to patronize them. Just having someone to try to follow up with me would have made this better; instead of having to keep asking as if she didnt see me there. They were not busy. A chair or two for those waiting would also be nice. How about opening each plate in front of the customer to allow them to inspect so that issues can be handled before they leave. I live 30 minutes away so I was not returning. Money wasted. By the way, at no point was I rude or disrespectful and neither were they.
Jae B — Google review
My experience there went well..I appreciate the patience they had while I took a little extra time to decide what I wanted to eat 😌 it is kinda small but there is an area for those who choose to eat there..I must say the food was delicious and it was hot and fresh..them lemon pepper chicken..yummy 😋..also the food was not salty considering this a Soul food kitchen 🤗..I think the prices are not bad considering the amount of food you get..will visit again.

Beast Mode Food Truck is a popular food truck in Huntsville, known for its award-winning burgers like the Jacked Up Burger, French Onion Burger, and Cuban Burger. They also serve delicious chicken sandwiches. The food truck often parks at various locations around UAH and accepts Charger dining dollars, making it convenient for students. Beast Mode offers daily specials and a variety of gourmet burgers, as well as pitas and French-inspired brunch dishes.
7/24 Update: It's been years since I've had the opportunity to eat at Beast Mode so I was excited to see them at the food truck rally. They are still making delicious burgers. I had the Chicago Heat Burger and it's one of the best burgers I've had all year! Also, the woman at the window was super friendly! Love this food truck! Also, didn't expect to go back so soon but they were at the concert at 805 and I couldn't help myself. I got the La Ferme Burger and that braised lamb and fried egg was amazing. Very messy but so worth it. --- This is one of the best burgers I've ever had. I got the Flying Pig. The braised pork belly is amazing and the jalapeno onion jelly was something else. Delicious!

I had their veggie burger - it was incredible! One of the best I've ever had. It was a homemade patty with veggies, quinoa and other ingredients. So often these kind of pairs fall sort easily but this one stayed together for the most part. I'll be looking for them parked somewhere in the future.

In my humble opinion sampling burgers across this town, Beast Mode has the BEST BURGERS in the Huntsville / Madison area, hands down. Their burgers are simply delicious and made with quality ingredients.
Emil C — Google review
Beast Mode is one of the longer running food trucks in Huntsville that I'm aware of. Lately, they park a lot at various locations around UAH, which works out considering they accept Charger dining dollars. Nice perk for students. They usually have one or two specials daily, as well as an array of specialty gourmet burgers. They also will sometimes offer pitas, chicken sandwiches, and more. I've heard their brunch menu is supposed to be legendary, with some French-inspired dishes. I would love to try that. They have a convenient little online ordering system, which is how I ordered my lunch last week. One note -- I ordered for pickup at 11:25, but I got a text at 11:13 or so stating my order was ready. I'm not sure if that was a bug or a feature, but I couldn't get there until the time I actually asked for pickup, so I'm not sure if my food was waiting for me a few extra minutes or not. Luckily, it didn't get soggy, even if it was ready before I could get it. When I did arrive at the truck, the lady who handed me my food was extremely pleasant and gracious. Lovely service! My food was boxed nicely and came with plenty of napkins and utensils. I got a chicken bacon ranch sandwich -- one of my favorite sandwich combos ever. It came with chips, though I saw on the menu board you can ask for cookies if you would like. I opted out of a drink, but they have bottled Coke products. My sandwich was very good. I believe I read that the chicken patty was hand formed. It was certainly shaped nicely, very tender and succulent, with no extra fatty bits. There was abundant bacon and it was crispy and delicious. The ranch was a little more herbal-tasting than I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it overall. My only critique is that there was a touch too much lettuce on the sandwich for me (made it a little watery), but I remedied that by picking the excess off. I couldn't fix the fact that the ranch did eventually make the sandwich/bread a little soggy before I could finish it. I'm sure if I ate a little faster that wouldn't be a problem either though. :) Overall, I would be happy to revisit and try their brunch or hamburger options. I hear they have one of the best beef burgers in town!

Posey's Restaurant, located about 20 minutes from Huntsville's Five Points area, is a beloved spot known for its country cooking buffet. The restaurant is reminiscent of sweet grandmother Mary's homemade fried chicken with white gravy in her Illinois farmhouse kitchen. Visitors praise the friendly family-run establishment and the delicious spread of meat and veggies that capture the essence of traditional country cooking. In addition to the buffet, Posey's also offers a menu for ordering.
Great community small town resturant. Where families have a post church meal together. All are welcomed. There is a southern buffet. We ordered off the menu. We've lived in Meridianville for a while but never swung by Posey' before - we decided to change that today! A lot of reviews refer to this place as having a buffet, but that isn't technically correct - they have a food bar but limit you to one plate/visit. It is very clear on the menu and my wife confirmed this with a server. Everywhere we looked there seemed to be people doing multiple trips so that was kind of weird. It was very hot inside - not sure if the AC was on the fritz or they were just catering to the older crowd but everyone in my party commented on it. Wife and kids got the food bar and I ordered a club sandwich off the menu. They serve Pepsi products here. My wife was pretty happy that they had turkey, fried chicken and ham available plus a lot of the usual southern food sides available (rolls, corn, green beans, cornbread, stuffing, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc). They want everyone visiting the food bar to wear gloves while serving food which is weird but I'm fine with that. There was one server for our entire side of the restaurant and I feel like she did a good job and was hustling- she served food poured drinks and bussed tables. The food... the food was below average. Just going to be honest here. The fried chicken had a very good breading that was pretty salty. The rest of the food was extremely bland and lacked flavor. All of the negative reviews for this restaurant usually point this out. They have a very loyal crowd of regulars it seems, but the food was bland. The mashed potatoes was bland and was the consistency of powdered potatoes. Idahoan instant mashed potatoes beat these easily. Mac n cheese was ho-hum, turkey was bland, etc. The corn bread is the unsweetened variety that is super dry. Honestly the only good thing we had was the fried chicken. My club was OK. They had a lot of meat in it, but the meat was hot which was unexpected. It looked good and had bacon which was nice, just tasted plain to me. I will probably come back and give it another shot someday, but honestly it feels like mostly institutional food in a hot restaurant with odd rules.

Well, I guess I should’ve taken a picture before I devoured my food… Anywho, this is my third time eating from Posey’s Restaurant. My elderly mother loves it. We were out this afternoon, so I decided to pick up some dinner for us. We got there before opening time, so we waited in the car. I noticed at 4:20 someone got out of their car and went in. To my surprise, the staff opened the doors EARLY. They don’t open until 4:30! You may say, “So! What’s so great about that?!” Well tell me who does that?! Businesses will wait until the very last second to unlock those doors and have to deal with the customers. This was not the case at Posey’s. I’m sure most ppl would overlook this and certainly not let it be a cause for their review, but…leave it to me. I’m different like that. 🤣 In case you missed the beginning, the food was G R E A T! I love the consistency of their food. Give them a try if you haven’t already. They willingly serve everyone!

Have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant like this before. Waitress was unhappy and only spoke to the regulars and acted like we were a nuisance. Waitress was short with us and only spoke in two or three words at a time and would just walk away after saying/asking whatever she had to say. For instance she asked "know what you want?" After laying the menus down and literally one second later she huffed and said "I'll let you look" and turned and walked away when we knew what we wanted and wanted to order. Every interaction was shorter and shorter along with her slamming down our plates. Very unpleasant experience all around. This was after lunch rush had cleared out and there were only a few people in our section.
April M — Google review
Service was extremely disappointing. No one waited on us. Had to ask to get drinks. The waitress never asked if we wanted refills. She never apologized for our wait. She also never gave us our receipt. Complained about the bad service to the employee at the front register. She did not know how to react and said nothing and rang up our meals. I am a regular customer and will never go back there again. Good customer service goes a long way these days. You just lost a customer two customers.

Well, traveled down to visit family and wanted a southern cookin’ buffet. Don’t go here for that. Friends that live in area said same thing. Buffet had instant mashed potatoes, no gravy, can green beans, canned yams, fried catfish not warm, pork chops dry, banana pudding had odd flavor, and peach cobbler more butter than peach tasting. We were not allowed to pull two tables together for sitting of eight, told flat, “No,” and waitress walked away. I am from this area and cook southern food. Very disappointing. We found other options. Keep looking.

Good home, country cooking. I reduced the atmosphere down one star for the noise level. There's not much you can do about it. I guess I'm just getting older and crotchety. Great place to go after church.

Nestled in the heart of Madison, Goodland Pour House is a charming neighborhood gastropub that perfectly blends modern rustic vibes with a welcoming atmosphere. This locally owned gem is just a short drive away and has quickly become a go-to spot for locals seeking delicious pub fare. With lunch starting at 11 am, diners can indulge in chef-inspired American comfort food that won’t break the bank.
The absolute best Detroit style pizza in the northern Alabama region. As someone who actively seeks out this style, Goodland has absolutely nailed a few key aspects of Detroit style. The crust is consistently perfect, crispy edges with the proper cheese baked edges. The toppings are not only cooked with care but not held back. The size of the pizza is smaller however the quality of the pizza should be regarded as a diamond in the rough. This is only one of a few places in the nation that correctly hits all aspects of making a great Detroit style pizza. The beer selection is fantastic as well. Staff and bartenders are wonderful and knowledgeable about selection.

My wife and I visited tonight. Nice place with plenty of draft beer to choose from. We had a pretzel with beer cheese that was very good. We also had the Original pizza, we added pepperoni and Italian sausage. The pizza was also very good. My wife loved it. We also enjoyed a few beers. Our server, Timmy was great. I'm sure we'll be back.

Had a great meal here. Solid beer selection. Animal style fries were excellent. Will return for sure.

The fried chicken sandwich is amazing and HUGE! It was perfectly cooked and came with an excessive amount of fries or tater tots. My only complaint would be the messiness of the sandwich, maybe overkill on the sauce.

Update 9/23/23: You should consider good land pour house for your game day viewing. I had a pizza and and Julia kept the beer flowing. Good times! Update: They no longer do thirsty Thursdays but they do have a happy hour that runs Tues - Thurs, 4:30 - 6:30. $5 on all drafts and wine. Can't beat it. Still love this place so much. Never had a bad experience. I love this place. I go at least once a month and everything I've ever had has been amazing. I've never had a bad meal here and the service is always great. Also, I'm huge fan of Thirsty Thursday. If the food wasn't enough to pull you in, you can't beat $4 select drafts on Thursday!

We had lunch here on a stormy day, so it was pretty slow. My husband got the house salad with grilled salmon, and I got the express lunch - loaded veggie sandwich with the berry Garcia salad. And of course, a couple beers to pair with it. Both were SOO good! We thoroughly enjoyed everything, including our waiter!! Will definitely be coming back!

A GEM of a restaurant in Madison! Every time we eat here, I find myself thinking about how good the food and drinks were for several days 😊 Aspin was a fantastic server and was super attentive! The family-friendly location always has great service and the food is as good as it gets for meeting everyone's tastes! The variety is wonderful, and we have eaten anything on the menu we haven't enjoyed! The Brussel sprouts and pizzas are family favorites!

Went to this place yesterday night and I had a great time ate well the server was knowledgeable and was able to direct me and my buddy to some great food ideas since it was our first time there. Quality all around was great and we'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu and beers. Kai and his partner definitely have something good going with this place.

Because I really enjoy my visit with my husband yesterday. I made 2 good reviews from open table and finally here in google reviews! Ok the exterior of restaurants was on building that is so modern like 5 star hotel with valet, and the interior or restaurant was exquisite and classy! Ambience was not loud its perfect for dinner date or relaxing dinner. Very clean and organized! Food was phenomenal and great presentations that I felt like I was in Las Vegas high end restaurants! When in comes to service it was definitely look like studied from hotel and restaurant management, Aaron did really great job on hospitality! Who ever hire him Give him a raise! Highly recommended, definitely coming back, will recommend to my friends! Cheers!

Amazing restaurant! My boyfriend is vegetarian and loved the cauliflower steak! I had the duck! Cozy, romantic atmosphere and great cocktail menu. Jenna and Anna were delightful servers and helped us with recommendations.

A great spot for a drink in the bar area! It is a beautiful bar/restaurant and hotel lobby for that matter. Drinks are great, decent selection. Enjoyed a drink and snacks on a Friday evening. Sat at the bar window to people watch. Ordered the seafood hushpuppies (a little dry) with a tasty sauce and the star of the evening was the Cauliflower Steak...who knew vegetarian could taste so good -- so delish! We always have an enjoyable experience when we visit!

Outstanding experience here! We walked here for dinner and sat in the outside space. Our server was so good and attentive. Atmosphere was just right. My wife had the burger - oh my, they should teach everyone else how to make it. Spectacular and so delicious. The deviled eggs were great (6) too. The hanger steak tho....best one I've ever had. Smoky char but subtle and oh so tender. Melted in my mouth, every dang bite. I'll be thinking about it for a long time. The fries were outstanding and the garlic aioli was to die for. All in all, our meal was an absolute 5 star experience. Bonus was the walk through the Park Spring that is close by. Bravo Revivalist....Bravo.

Fantastic space and great service. Extensive liquor menu. Actually pretty impressive. We had brunch and it was pretty yummy but certain items needed seasoning. But still recommend. Will return for dinner.

Fantastic food and service. We came for lunch on Saturday and had an amazing time. Food was fresh and on time. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. Bar area is gorgeous and the view from the second floor is the cherry on top!! It’s been on my list to visit here for a bit, so happy we finally made it! We got mimosas, chips and salsa, the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and the chicken Caesar salad!

We had an early dinner here today. It's an interesting place. The food was very good. I had the cheeseburger and my wife had the fried shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly. Alaina, our server was great. I'm sure we'll be back.

This was our first time to eat at The Martin Bar + Bistro. We'll definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service was great. My husband and I both ordered the Classic Cheeseburger, it was really good. He ordered onion rings for his side. I ordered fries, my fries had a seasoning on them they were great. His onion rings were delicious. We highly recommend them. They don't skip on the onion rings there were plenty to share, I recommend doing as we did, if you are with someone order fries and onion rings and share them. We also ordered an appetizer, the Pork Potato Skins. They were also delicious.
Jan N — Google review
I would recommend this place. The food could use a tad more seasoning, but it was good. The wings could have been cooked a tad longer. The wings (which were ordered as an appetizer before or meal) came out basically at the same time as or food did which was not ideal as I'm sure you can imagine. I ordered the fried chicken, which was good, the sides were lacking in flavor. My husband ordered the fish which was excellent as were his sides. The drinks (Moscow mules) were prepared in a timely fashion even though they were busy. The waitress was amazing!!! She was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable!!! We will definitely be back.

Neat place on the second floor just of the square. I have stopped in a couple times on previous visits to Huntsville. Food Service and Atmosphere makes this a destination in Huntsville.

Let me say that the Server was was one point. She came and greeted everyone with a smile and answered all our questions. The fish tacos were really good. The fish was lightly fried and the fresh jalapenos were a nice touch of heat. The calamari fried just right. The drinks were refreshing. The atmosphere was great with the large open Bay doors. I will be going back again.
Mark A — Google review
Food quality was exceptional and unexpectedly good. Drinks, maybe not so much compared to their competition nearby. It's kind of like a pretentious sports bar- except they don't really put a variety of sports on the screens and only put on one type. The crowd is of a certain clientele.

Ok...so my wife and I visited here and ordered a few different dishes which were all absolutely delicious! I had the Grouper fillet with asparagus and grits and my wife had fried chicken with mash. They give you some really good portions here and the food is very tasty. We had a server who was nice and despite it being a bit busy she stayed on point with the tables and made sure that we never wanted for anything while there. We definitely enjoyed eating here and will definitely return. Thank you for a great experience!

Named after Adrian Gilstrap's daughter, this eatery serves up an array of soul food that feels like a warm family gathering. Diners rave about the fried chicken and catfish, both cooked to perfection with generous portions and rich flavors.
Our experience at Niyah's Southern Grill was awesome! Tru provided great service and the food was delicious. We all got different things from the menu and enjoyed them all! We are excited to try more of the daily specials. If you're looking for a locally-owned, southern restaurant with quality food and service, make sure to check out Niyah's!

I visited recently and placed a to go order. This place is definitely a no-frills type place, and table seating is limited. There is a bar area as well for additional seating options. The staff was friendly enough, and I received my food in a relatively quick amount of time. I ordered the pork chops bites w/ fries and a side of okra. Everything tasted cooked to order and seasoned well.
Netta N — Google review
I walked in and ordered a to go plate. I ordered the smoked meatloaf, queso mac, and gumbo greens. Wow! It was quick, the food is hot and delicious, and the service was great. Portion sizes are enough for me for lunch & dinner. About $20 including tip. I'll definitely be going back!
Jessica W — Google review
These smoked wings were so good I ate the bones lol no sauce necessary. Mac and cheese was delicious. Green beans were seasoned perfectly. Everything tastes like it was made with love. Adrian has a special gift with food. I’m extremely happy for this place to have its own sit in location to call home now! The place is a nice intimate set up with bar seating for individuals and tables for families. TV’s in view from every angle. The staff were so nice! Very patient and understanding with ordering. If you are reading this review to solidify if you should try this place don’t hesitate to give this place a go!

I went yesterday and got the bourbon wings and fries. When I say those were the best wings I had in a while, they were it!! I love the smoked taste and they were not shy with the sauce. I left with sauce on my shirt like I was a kid. I’m definitely going back and taking my coworkers with me.

Absolutely 10/10 from the customer service to the food. The smoked chicken yams and dressing was all was still nice and hot after my 15-20 minute ride home and was smelling amazing the whole way home. Also has a red velvet cake but forgot to get a picture of it. It was good

I kept seeing this restaurant advertised on social media. I stopped by today and I’m so glad I did. The food was DELICIOUS! HANDS DOWN, DELICIOUS!!!! The service was great and efficient. The atmosphere was nice, though I got my food to go. Will NOT be my last visit. Exceptional!

We definitely enjoyed our meal. We had the fried chicken, queso mac n cheese and slap yo momma corn. Niyah's has the best soul food that I've had since moving to Alabama 3 1/2 years ago 10/10. The customer service was awesome. Dominique was very courteous, helpful, kind and gave 10/10 customer service to all of the patrons. We'll definitely return.
