Bakery
The Moon Bakeshop, owned by Thom and Maddie Watkins, is a delightful fusion of European bakery and Southern kitchen. Located in downtown Huntsville, this charming bakery offers an array of delectable treats such as house-made croissants that are meticulously prepared over three days, frosted cupcakes, cinnamon buns, handmade cakes, pastries both sweet and savory, breads, muffins, cookies, and breakfast sandwiches.
Ran across this place while exploring the downtown area in the morning and we were so glad we did. Had quite the line but it moves quickly. They have everything displayed nicely as you wait. Everything looked amazing so we got a few things to try and bring back to the hotel. Apologies for the imperfect picture some people couldn’t wait to try them before I could get a good pic. Everything was fantastic, the muffin used fresh blueberries, the cookie was crispy outside but soft and chewy inside, the chocolate croissant was good, loved the scone. It was the perfect texture, even my husband enjoyed it and he’s usually not a fan. The cruffin was the best. I don’t normally like cream filling but this one was really light and perfectly balanced with the cinnamon flavor. Seems to be what they’re known for and definitely didn’t disappoint. Certainly worth the time to stop if you’re in town or live nearby.

Cute local spot! Brought my friend that visited from out of town and she LOVED the place. We did order a bunch of different items to try out. The savory Danish was a tad salter than we prefer, but it was still super delicious. My friend ordered a breakfast croissant and devoured it entirely (didn't expect to). The chocolate chip cookie was perfect snd the lemon blueberry cookie was light and refreshing. She enjoyed her Beach Bum coffee, and I enjoyed every sip of my vanilla latte! The cruffin was soooooo yummy: the filling was not too sweet and was supper light! I love this place!

A coworker brought Earl Grey Cupcakes with Lavender Buttercream to work this am. I decided to visit for lunch. Was good, not too pricey. $15 for oatmilk latte and Ham Havarti Croissant (17.50 after tip). Took 13 minutes for sandwich, maybe 5 min for coffee. Coffee is nice, bold flavor. Sandwich was good. Nice for a treat day! Wish it had better parking.

We picked this one bakery, based on reviews, for our breakfast stop before leaving town, and they did not disappoint! We got the daily cruffin, which was oreo cheesecake, two scones in bacon cheddar and honey cinnamon, a fudgey peanut butter dollop thing, and Americano to share. The cruffin was delightful, more like a cream puff filled with pastry cream and topped woth buttercream. No cream cheese flavor, which I like, but just soft and crispy at the same time. The scones were more like butter biscuits, not like typical dry brittle hockey pucks. Easy to eat in or take out, like on the way yo Cathedral Caverns, as you can see the cruffin cameo here. Easy parking, paid street parking $1 per 2 hours with meters that still take coins and a shared side lot with paid parking M-F. Do yourself a favor and stop by, now and frequently when you can!
Mimi S — Google review
I LOVE their egg sandwich! While pregnant, it was one of my constant cravings, and still always my go-to order now! They get very crowded on the weekend, so if you order it, you will have to wait a little while for them to make it, but it's worth the wait! Pro tip: eat the sandwich upside down so all the seasoning on top of the focaccia touches your taste buds!
Caroline B — Google review
SUCH A GEM! I absolutely love The Moon Bakeshop. The people who work at the shop are so sweet and welcoming. Love going on mama/daughter dates here with my toddler. Their homemade coffee syrups are incredible and the current seasonal salted rosemary chai is so good! Looking forward to their pies around the holidays.
Savannah E — Google review
Beware the line on Saturday morning!! This place was packed, and for good reason. My latte was delicious and I was pleased to have a gluten free option. I really enjoyed the gf power bar but wasn’t a huge fan of the gf peanut butter cookie. They did change their gloves without me asking, but the gf treats are in the same area with normal treats, just as a heads up for the celiac crowd.
Natalie M — Google review
Stopped in while we were driving through town and glad we did. Everything we ordered was excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly. The bacon scone was on point and the blueberry muffin was simply amazing. The breakfast sandwich was perfect. If we are anywhere near, we will be back.

Coffee shop
Canadian Bakin is a popular bakery and cafe located in downtown Huntsville, AL. Despite its name, the owner, Matt Johnson, is not Canadian but has garnered a loyal following since starting at a local farmers market in 2017. The store offers handcrafted bread, bagels, and pretzels made from dough that cold-rises for 24 hours. Their menu features sandwiches and toasts with creative names like Lox and Loaded.
How do you rate such a Unique café? There should actually be more stars in the rating system for this place! The bagels and their combinations were outstanding and their service was fast and friendly! The decor was both cozy and vintage. This would be a regular place for me if I lived in Huntsville AL. My grandkids and daughter took me here, and I loved it! Give them a try!
Rodney A — Google review
We love this cozy coffee shop in downtown Huntsville, especially when it’s time for carbs. My go-to is the Q-Becco sandwich, which has bacon, egg, and cheese with caramelized onions. Try it on fresh-baked brioche or the sourdough. It’s a great place to catch up with a friend or meet a colleague and the service is top-notch.
Bart S — Google review
A fantastic breakfast spot! First time where and I have no idea why I waited this long to come! Truly quality bagels, bread and drinks! A very cool atmosphere and good service! This will be mocked one of our new favorites in HSV!
Dave S — Google review
Far and away the best coffee/bagel shop in Huntsville. It's always busy on the weekends but the wait is well worth it (the line goes out the door for a reason). My order always comes out promptly and as expected. If you're looking for a low-fat option, the Down Payment with a side of grapes or carrots is fantastic. Their monthly specials are always worth trying and have cute themes depending on the time of year. Aside from the food, the other thing that draws me here time and time again is the atmosphere. While some other coffee shops in town have leaned into a corporate environment at the expense of their soul, Canadian Bakin retains a "chaotic good" vibe that, in my opinion, is most of the fun of a coffee shop. The cartoons playing on the vintage TV, the ambient fantasy music, and the various plants with names on them make the place feel welcoming, quirky, and full of character. The staff know my name by now and even know to use my full name when it's busy so I can hear it more easily :)

Had The Surfin Turkey and added bacon to it on Sourdough bread. Plus fruit for about 12 dollars before tip. Delicious taste and the ambiance and customer service made the experience even better!
Sergio B — Google review
It’s almost like they knew I need to have GMM on in the background anytime I eat a meal 😆 The Fathead bagel on a chocolate chip bagel was rich and delicious. I took a bite of my husband’s Q Becco which was great as well. Their bacon is cooked to perfection.
JM — Google review
The worst coffee on the planet. We asked if maybe we got the end of a pot or something burned. They kindly poured new coffee--it was just as bad. Bagel was good! Skip the coffee.
Donielle S — Google review
Finally made it here and was not disappointed. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great menu selection, and warm, friendly & professional staff. You should check out this hidden gem. How can you not love and support a local business that pushes carbs?!?! : )

Tous Les Jours is a must-visit bakery known for its daily fresh-baked goods made with high-quality ingredients. Their blueberry lavender cakes are a crowd favorite, along with an array of pastries, cheese and blueberry danishes, macarons, and a delightful selection of coffee drinks. The bakery offers a happy hour special and has received praise for its consistency in delivering delicious treats. Customers appreciate the unique flavors, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. With locations across the U.
It's always a treat to visit here. 10/10 red bean buns, sweet soft bread, and their savory treats are a must-have. I'm in love with the curry and kimchi croquettes. My wife can never get enough of their taro or strawberry soft breads. Not too sweet, just the right level of fruity/sweet/creamy. Bread is always perfectly made.
Kitty C — Google review
This place is sweet treat heaven. The store is very clean and the pastries are all so creative. Ever heard of a crookie (croissant cookie)? Neither have I. But they have em’, and they’re delicious! I also love their brioche donut holes. They do a great job of restocking the displays quickly whenever they run out of a particular item. There’s so much variety here it’s impossible to try it all in one trip; I will definitely be coming back to try more in the future.
Zach H — Google review
The food is amazing here. They have both sweet and savory and so many options you just have to go several times to try then all. We had the regular croissant, jalapeño cheese croissant, mini donuts and garlic sausage puffs. It was all delicious and I would definitely recommend a visit or several visits. It was a little pricey, with an average of $4 per item, but all worth every Penney. The atmosphere was Cafe like and a little loud and also very busy. My recommendation is to take the food with you if you can't find a table.
Maria C — Google review
One of the best bakeries in Huntsville with the fresh baked goods served to customers. The puff pastries and cakes are authentic to taste and priced reasonably! Definitely recommend..
Paresh S — Google review
Best bakery in town! Amazing donuts, and cream croissants. Their cakes are very light cream and delicious as well. You can order a whole cake or purchase by slice, which I love. Savory buns are very good too, the garlic cheese bread is my fav. (reminds me of the Korea street food). They also have really good “tea time” sandwiches & of course delicious coffee. Iced Pistachio latte is so good is you’re craving something sweet, and iced honey americano is so refreshing and perfect is you don’t like too sweet. Bakery is always fresh, and service is always welcoming and warm :)
Katya L — Google review
Cutest little pastry place with loads of varieties. Everything we tried was exceptional- will be back to try the Dubai strawberry cup. Was back for more! Everything here is 10/10 and crazy delicious.

What a cute bakery! Went here for the first time over the weekend and had such a great experience. The store was clean, staff was friendly, and the treats were delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a bakery treat and want something fresh and tasty.

This is a small Korean/French bakery with wonderful pastries, both sweet and savory. I love their mushroom onion tart, caramel apple strudel, and milk cream buns that are individually wrapped. It's very clean and choosing selections is very orderly. Prices are high, but its fresh and good quality. Highly recommend this place.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is a delightful bakery chain that specializes in an array of bundt cakes, ranging from charming bite-sized treats to impressive tiered creations. This establishment beautifully marries nostalgia with modern flair, evoking memories of homemade delights reminiscent of family gatherings. Each cake is crafted using high-quality ingredients like fresh eggs, real butter, and cream cheese, ensuring every bite is a taste of pure bliss.
The cakes here are delicious.... I ask for one every year on my birthday and my kids as well. They always do a great job, and we've never had any issues with them over the last few years.

Went in this morning and got 7 small Bundt cakes. The young woman at the register so friendly. I was in and out in a snap. The cake we ate was simply AMAZING! We’ve already scarfed one down and can’t decide which we’ll eat later. Great place!!👍
Leslie P — Google review
This mini bundt cake is soooo good! The icing is homemade the cake is so light and melts in your mouth. The drive there was atrocious but when I took a bite of this cake I knew that it was worth it. I'm definitely coming back here! I got White Chocolate Raspberry and Classic Vanilla.
CeeJay L — Google review
Ordered a cake to be picked up at 3pm. Arrived at 3:30….they had given my cake away. They dug through trash to find the receipts, no apologies. I waited 15 minutes for them to make the cake- with the incorrect colored decor and signs that I had originally asked for. 🤨 No sorry for your inconvenience, no compensation. So now we have an AL colored bday cake for my UGA fan husband. I’m sure the cake will taste delicious but come on customer service.
Tessa H — Google review
Ordered food at least 10 minutes before their “rush” last night. Once the “rush” showed up, those customers started receiving their food before we got our carry out. I questioned the employee at the register area and was told I would just have to wait because now they have a “rush”. REALLY!?! I have never had any issues at this restaurant but I highly suggest you do not try to go there when they may receive a “rush” because you may just have to wait until after 50 or so people get their food. Very rude. Very unprofessional. Very disrespectful. Very disappointing. I ordered first should have received my food first or in a timely manner.
Jennifer M — Google review
Poor service always trumps good product. Sour faced employee who refuses to look at me or even smile cause me to reconsider my purchase. Spending $50 on seven cakes should at least merit a smile and a thank you. They never have special pricing or deals.
Lee R — Google review
To other Nothing but Bundt fans, this store does not honor the cooler bag deal. While visiting Huntsville, we drove out of our way to this store. The lady in front of us just ordered one free cake. We were going to purchase the three to get one free. To not honor the three and one free is definitely their prerogative, but I was confused as to why you honor the free one without purchase and not the purchase with a free one. On to the next Nothing But Bundt adventure. We were sad to not add this store to our long list of Nothing But Bundt travel fun.

I visited this location for my first ever Nothing Bundt cake for my birthday..I got the lemon cake. It was moist and VERY lemony, but the icing was super sweet. I can't wait to try a different flavor next time!

Bakery
L'Etoile Patisserie is a family-owned French-style patisserie located in Huntsville, Alabama. The name translates to 'the star,' and it lives up to its name with handcrafted, high-quality pastries made fresh every morning by expert chefs.
Authentic baguette ( I was born in France) but quite expensive at $5.25. Bakery pastries good, but a noticeable absence of any fruit or marmalade. Very crowded on a Saturday morning with line snaking among the tables. I do recommended researching the least crowded times, but I will continue to frequent this place. I wish they had a greater variety of breads.
Ed P — Google review
These are some of the best croissants I’ve ever had. Their pastry dough is so flaky, you will notice hundreds of layers in every bite. There’s a large variety of menu options; it’s hard to try it all in one visit so I will definitely be coming back for more. The owners and chefs are all super nice and have great recommendations. I highly recommend trying whatever they tell you their favorite menu item is; you won’t regret it.
Zach H — Google review
Could have been five star for the pastries alone. probably some of the best I’ve had. Super fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. The place itself is cozy and has a nice vibe. Coffee a bit over-extracted though. Staff could definitely be friendlier. Not rude, just kind of cold 😅 Still, the food makes up for it, and I’d totally go back for the pastries alone.
Jaez M — Google review
Been here a handful of times since they opened. Way too crowded on Saturday. I ordered a plain and chocolate croissant. Today it had the texture as if it had been sitting around for a day or so and had become stale. My daughter had brought home a chocolate croissant a few weeks back (on a week day) and it was buttery, flakey, and delicious so I’m sure they know what they are doing, I just get the impression they get slammed on Saturday and bake off bunches leading up to Saturday. Not sure I’ll be going back, not enough seating, too loud, and inconsistent and expensive.
Debbie E — Google review
In love with this bakery!🤎🥐 Best pastries in Huntsville — fresh, and full of flavor. The place is super cute with a real French vibe, and the chef always greets you personally. A true gem!
Arely C — Google review
Delicious croissants and very chic cafe space. Indoor & outdoor seating available. The building with the patisserie, Holtz leather, and home goods shop has a pass through hallway towards the back.
Catherine B — Google review
L'Etoile Patisserie is a little slice of Paris right here in Huntsville. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of fresh-baked pastries lined up like works of art. Their coffee is just as impressive, smooth and rich, pairing perfectly with any pastry you choose. I spring for the Latte! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, taking the time to explain flavors and make thoughtful recommendations. The atmosphere is bright, elegant, and inviting—perfect for a morning treat, an afternoon pick-me-up, or impressing out-of-town guests. If you love authentic French baking or simply appreciate food crafted with care and skill, L’Etoile Patisserie is a must-visit. This is hands-down one of the best spots.
Chris T — Google review
This is one of the only places in town you can get a proper flat white (coffee). Also, non-burnt espresso! The staff is super nice and willing to accommodate you. The last time I was there, they gave me four extra pastries - I think because they didn’t want to throw them out, they were going to close soon. Either way, I appreciated the generosity and dedication to avoiding food waste! The almond croissants are absolutely delicious as well.

Edgar's Bakery is a charming spot in Huntsville that offers an array of delectable treats. The bakery is known for its mouthwatering strawberry cake and caramel cupcakes, both of which are made with high-quality ingredients. Additionally, their breakfast options are a hit, with the breakfast sandwich on homemade jalapeno bread receiving high praise. Visitors also rave about the pimento cheese biscuit served on a cheddar biscuit with egg and bacon, as well as the delightful cinnamon roll.
Overall was surprised because the prices for the meals were/are very reasonable as for the drinks they are what you expect close to Starbucks prices. So if looking for some good breakfast will suggest it just maybe choice your own drinks from home or no coffee since that will easily bring the meal price up. Loved the food choices and staff friendly.

I ordered a custom birthday cake from Edgar’s for a 20-year-old’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! We went with chocolate cake and chocolate frosting, topped with fun confetti decorations—it looked great and tasted even better. The cake was rich, moist, and full of flavor. Everyone at the party loved it and kept asking where it was from. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious and well-made custom cake!
Amanda I — Google review
Food was delicious but seemed like the staff weren’t too happy at their jobs, likely due to being understaffed. We got the French bread, eggs Benedict and a double chocolate cupcake. They were all delicious, but the cupcake icing could’ve used a little less sugar in my opinion.

Very mixed feelings regarding this highly recommended bakery. On business/holiday in the Research Park business district. The customer service was pleasant. The employees were polite, attentive and patient. In addition, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The issue was with the baked goods. My party ordered cupcakes (Sundae, Strawberry, and Vanilla). We also ordered a Warm Cinnamon Bun and a Pecan Swirl Bun. We all agreed everything tasted dry.... Almost stale like they were made days before our visit. The prices would have been reasonable if the baked goods were fresh.

Great vegan options! I had a vegan grilled cheese with the vegan cheese, seitan steak, mushrooms, and spinach! SO good! 😋 My daughter got the Presley (Chocolate peanut butter) smoothie, and she said it was the best ever! 😉

Rockabilly's chef, Sam, prepares some of the best vegan meals in Huntsville. Her cooking has gone from good to excellent in the last few years and the weekly specials on Instagram are not to be missed. Did I mention that this is also a Cake bakery and you can get vegan cakes and confections here as well? Don't over look this unassuming shop if you are a vegan or vegetarian. Wonderful staff, excellent food.

They did my wedding cake! It was exactly what we wanted. Our cake was a lemon cake, raspberry filling, and lemon icing. Absolute loved it! Best tasting cake and looks amazing!

Came here today looking to try something new and had a great experience. The bao buns and ramen specials were fantastic. Also got the vegan burrito bowl to go! It gave me that cool, unique, hole in the wall vibe and the workers there were friendly and personable. I've been exploring more plant based eating options around Huntsville, and rockabilly turned out to be a great find.

Rockabilly Bakery and Cafe made a precious Llama cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday! It was awesome and perfect in every way! As soon as I arrived she had the cake ready for me to take home to the party! I will definitely order from them again and highly recommend you ordering from them as well!!

Nestled among the shops of Bridge Street Town Centre, this charming pastry shop is known for its friendly service and exceptional treats.
great friendly service and nice atmosphere. pumpkin spice danish was tasty and peppermint coffee was good. Macarons were okay, not as soft as I'd like

We are here yesterday and loved it! I had the strawberry and vanilla gelato, my partner had the chocolate and strawberry gelato and all were very good! We also tried the banana chocolate macaron and the raspberry macaron , both were good and soft inside! We haven’t had good luck with having macarons in the states but these were pretty good! The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable about allergy’s! Inside the building was clean and its located in a great area!

"COMPLIMENTS!" On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, I stopped by Le Macaron French Pastries in Bridge Street Town Center for dessert. Le Macaron is a very upscale establishment, beautifully decorated in a very "Parisian "design scheme. I sampled many of their gelato and sorbet offerings, but I finally decided on three scoops in a cup (two scoops of mango sorbet, and one scoop of pistachio gelato). (I also really liked the almond macarons gelato that I sampled.) My dessert there was very good. I'll definitely be returning to Le Macaron French Pastries in Bridge Street Town Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Compliments! 👍 👍 G. Curtis Monday, June 24, 2024

My 2 favorite coffee makers: Lillian and Lynn. They make their coffee with care and it’s delicious. They are always friendly and make you feel welcome. The owners are also wonderful and treat customers like family. Their food is delicious as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Cute pastry shop. Friendly and helpful service with great macarons. Pictured, from top left, clockwise: salted caramel, chocolate pistachio, tiramisu was especially good, coffee, and vanilla. Not pictured, red velvet (it got eaten before the camera came out).
Nom N — Google review
Le Macaron is quite the fancy desert place and the prices might seem a bit high, but you get what you pay for, and I gotta say the Chocolate Caramel Espresso Coffee Shake was absolutely delicious! Also the staff here were super friendly and helpful to me deciding which shake I wanted. Plus the wait to get my shake wasn’t long either. Can’t wait to come back here again and try some more of their delicious deserts.

Loved this place! Cute little cafe/pastry shop located in Bridge Street Town Center. They have a great variety of macron flavors and also a variety of other treats and goodies. My ONLY "complaint" I wish it had a bigger lobby area to hang out. The coffee was good too! ( I got an iced caramel latte made with half and half).
Makenna P — Google review
OMG, these are hands down the best macarons I ever had in my life. They are pricey but worth the splurge. The staff here is friendly, and you can taste the freshness of the macarons. The flavor profiles are second to none. You may have had a macaron or two but I dare you to experience a macaron at Le Macaron French Pastries, you will not regret it! I had Red Velvet, Madagascar Vanilla, and Salted Caramel. WOW!!!

MidCity District is a vibrant area that hosts various markets, including the Madison City Farmers Market and the Market at MidCity. These markets offer a diverse range of vendors and unique specialties, enticing visitors to explore them repeatedly. They operate during different seasons, from April to November for the Madison City Farmers Market and year-round for Oakwood Farms Market. Supporting local farmers and artisans is emphasized as each purchase directly benefits them.
I love how this place turned out. It's a great community for people to live and visit. It has everything you need in one neighborhood. The only thing missing is better connections to mid city by bike and bus. There is plenty of bike parking and the areas are very walkable. I'm eager to see more developments in this area.

I love the hang-out-in-the-backyard vibe that The Camp offers. The Camp has several events throughout the week and on the weekends. Some are ticketed and some are FREE. I always bring company here, from out of town.

MidCity has so much to do, I enjoy it each time. I absolutely love The Camp from the music to the mixed crowd, to the drinks to the performances I’ve had a blast every time I’ve gone. Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen food is good as well. Chicken and waffles are a must there. Definitely take the kiddos to Dave and Busters. The food is good and the games are great too! Visit MidCity peeps. I’m so proud of my city for this one!!!

I really love this ramen spot, the food is consistently delicious and keeps me coming back, even if I still don’t quite understand the high pricing. Ramen isn’t usually that expensive or difficult to make, but they’ve managed to jack the price is up like everyone else. The atmosphere is great, clean, cozy, and welcoming. It can get a little crowded during peak hours, but with a bit of patience, you’ll get your food without too much trouble. If you haven’t tried this place yet, I definitely recommend giving it a shot. The food alone is worth it.
AC E — Google review
Nice little area with lots of restaurants. Easily walkable I do wish there were more retail shops. Parking also should be enforced in the middle lane, all parking in the middle is supposed to back into the space, but all too often larger vehicles pull straight in making it hard for others to exit.

Nestled in the historic Times Building of downtown Huntsville, The Bakingtist School of Baking is a delightful fusion of science and culinary art. Founded by Heidi Kizer, who transitioned from biochemistry and environmental engineering to baking, this unique establishment offers an array of gourmet sandwiches, delectable pastries, and mouthwatering cookies that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. With a focus on community engagement and fun learning experiences, Heidi pours her passion into every creation.
This is absolutely fantastic coffee shop in downtown Huntsville. The atmosphere is science class room themed, with lab style tables, beakers as flower vases, featured scientists and even a periodic table mural with baking ingredients and a very details key. This is a very unique piece!!! The food is incredible as well. I have had a few of their items already, all of which have been delightful, but the ones with chocolate ganache has been my absolute favorites. The 1/3 lb cookies are also a highlight! Their coffees and lattes are also great, with a lot of rotating drinks, and free refills on the brew coffee! There’s is space to work here, but it’s a bit more energetic and a bit loud. It’s fine to do some studying or work, but if you have important work meetings might need to take them outside. Otherwise this is an amazing place. Best of all, all their staff get paid a living wage, so there’s no pressure for tipping. It’s great to support and shop on local business that take care of their employees. And the owners are super sweet and attentive. This is easily one of my favorite places in town and highly recommended everyone trying.

My boyfriend and I came in with our four children and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was all delicious!! We bought a loaf of sour dough bread to take home. We got the chocolate croissants, apple pie, the bigger chocolate chip cookies and the bacon, egg and cheese croissant with a fruit cup. Everything was AMAZING!
Savannah A — Google review
Love the backstory, theme, and atmosphere of this restaurant. The baked goods were delicious, my family really enjoyed the chocolate croissant and chocolate chip walnut cookie, but found the filled cookies a bit too large and too sweet for our taste. The same critique applies to the huge, fluffy peanut butter sandwich (pictured), and though not too sweet, the caprese sandwich (pictured) was a difficult task to consume with an average human-sized mouth and the ciabatta roll too tough for a knife and fork. But I will return for the fresh-squeezed orange juice!
Nicole H — Google review
This bakery is incredible. I came here with a friend and her kids & we had the best time. I got the 1/3lb chocolate chip cookie and thought I’d died and gone to Heaven! It was the perfect combo of gooey and warm yet golden brown. The environment is so fun and SO Huntsville - the mix of science and food theming is evident from the periodic table of baking elements to all the lab decor. The staff were friendly & helpful and I love that this business supports living wages! I will be back again & again!
Hannah L — Google review
Oh my goodness we don't just love The Bakingtist we absolutely ADORE her!!!! Heidi and her team are always welcoming and loving to all who come through the door. The science based bakery is its own unique wonder- just check out that periodic table of baking elements! We haven't even gotten to the food- OH MY GOODNESS! Absolutely incredible creations that are oh so decadent and satisfying. There is almost always some new treat and it'll have you on your knees it's just that darn good! Cinnabombs, Monkey Bread, 1/2 Blueberry Muffin, Kolaches- you name it, she has it! Another thing we love about this adorable place- it's kid friendly! A nice walk downtown will lead you to this location where you will forever have your life changed❤️

Update - Heidi has revamped her bakery into a baking school. She is a great teacher and her classes are a lot of fun, I’ve learned so much from her. She perfects her recipes she teaches and shares that information. I’ve really learned a lot from her. I considered myself a pretty good baker, but had problems with consistency, especially with bread. I personally think there is nothing better than a freshly baked homemade loaf of bread. You know what you put in there and the quality of the ingredients. I've taken quite a few of her classes. Def recommend!! Move over every single bake shop in Huntsville! There is a new boss in town. Been there twice and loved it both times. Wow1/2 lb blueberry muffins, monkey bread, apple hand pies, and the colaches are all out of this world. Great selection and customer service.
Debbie E — Google review
Hidden gem in DT HSV. The food is incredible and the coffee is on point. Try the apple filled cruffin...it's awesome! The cookies are a 1/3lb of batter. Huge and delicious. Crisp outside while still soft and gooey inside. Encourage Heidi to start making breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Fresh made bread pockets! Yes!!! Support the local small businesses and give this a try. You won't be disappointed!!
Edward P — Google review
Warm environment with very friendly staff! You can tell that the staff really enjoy what they do by the way you’re treated. That make such a huge difference and made our experience more enjoyable. Now on to the food. That croissant was maybe the best I’ve ever had. It was so buttery and flaky with crisp cheese topping. The cookie was my favorite part of this day. So rich and filled with chocolate! I had to flag down one of the bakingtist to ask what magic was put in it. I was so upset that I didn’t bring any home!

Convenient to Huntsville Hospital, but it's a bit of a walk if you don't take the sky walk from the 2nd floor of HH. Food was fresh decent flavor, decent atmosphere. Small portions considering the price.
Clint F — Google review
Y'all know I don't review chains much and I probably leave 1 stars even less frequently but this experience was pretty unacceptable so here I am. We ordered delivery via a 3rd party app from this spot so we didn't have to leave the office to get some lunch. That being said, I can't speak to atmosphere or service because I've never physically visited this Panera location. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere inside/at least very close to Huntsville Hospital. No problems with the delivery time. Prices were high for the amount of food, but that's Panera and that's delivery for ya. Someone drew a friendly smiley face on our receipt, so that was sweet. I wish the same care had been paid to my food. Packaging was mostly okay -- they remembered cutlery for everyone so that's good - but the paper bag the baguettes were in tore with 0 warning while I was passing them out, flinging one of our four baguettes on the ground. Bummer :( My three coworkers all got the same thing: you pick two, with French onion soup and a half ciabatta cheesesteak. I got the you pick two with an Asian sesame chicken salad and the one thing I really like from Panera, their broccoli cheddar soup. All the baguettes sans the one that fell on the ground were fine, so at least there's that. My coworkers were disappointed with their food. The cheesesteak, which they'd had at a Panera in Decatur a few months ago and enjoyed, wasn't as they remembered, lacking peppers almost completely and dry from relatively little aioli. Everyone's French onion soup had cheese at the bottom instead of the top, and cheese was solid and not at all melty. Gross. My order is the real reason for the one star though. I'd not had the Asian sesame chicken salad before. I did like the almonds and the wonton strips and the dressing was okay. However, the lettuce was often discolored and old looking, there were enormous cilantro stems in there (lots of soapy bites), and the chicken was also an unpleasant color and very rubbery. I mostly ate around the chicken and cilantro and yucky lettuce, but there wasn't much left that didn't fall into one of those three categories. The real kicker here is the soup though. It tasted good, maybe a little more congealed than I expected but it was delivered. But I was enjoying it with my baguette. Except about 60% of the way through, I got a weird bite that initially felt like a very large piece of onion. I covertly spit it out because 1) I don't like large pieces of onion and 2) something in the back of my head said it wasn't actually an onion. I'm glad I did, because it wound up being a large, exceedingly soggy scrap of....paper? Plastic? I can only assume it's from the bag the soup arrives in at the restaurant (as I know they don't make it in-house). That's what I hope it's from, at least -- anything else sounds much worse. It was absolutely disgusting, and upsetting. I didn't finish my soup (obviously) and I didn't want to keep eating anything else, either. My stomach was uneasy for a while after. I understand mistakes happen, but this one is pretty unacceptable to me. I won't be ordering again, and this has very strongly diminished my already dwindling positive (more like neutral) feelings toward the chain.
Bailey — Google review
As a Huntsville Hospital employee, I want to express the recent sadness of the death of my salad from Panera. To get a chance to sit for lunch is a big deal for us on the floor. I was looking forward to my salad with my soup and hoping for an uninterrupted lunch. However, my salad either decided to unalive itself, or basically, no one secured the baby well enough in its car seat (aka salad bowl) because when I gently grabbed the bowl taking it out of the bag the most traumatic salad massacre occurred. I've come here to heed advice to make sure another person's food is secured before sending it off to be enjoyed. There was no enjoyment today, but rather sadness and annoyance. I pray this never happens to another fellow human being.

⚠️ Only entrance is through the MAIN entrance of the hospital. JUST came for coffee but had also read the abysmal reviews and wanted to visit for myself. Brittany helped me and even got a pot of decaf going (to make me a half-caf) when I told her it was gone. Beautiful venue with a spacious, bright atmosphere, plenty of seating (especially high seats/tables). Since I didn't try anything beyond coffee, just 4 ⭐ this visit.
Clark L — Google review
Actually I was patient in hospital so my family placed order @ 5:07pm. At 8pm, I finally got my order of course no good by that time! I called Panera & Tyler(mngr) who had already gone above and beyond to get order to me had already left. The mngr on duty ( Bre or Ashley I'm sorry I can't remember name) was aware of situation, & went out of her way to make me fresh order with extra goodies, and NOBODY from hospital bothered getting it,much less getting it to my room! When I was finally discharged from hospital I went to Panera myself, they were so amazing to me, offered everything but the phone book. Lol. I've always loved Panera for their food (cinnamon crunch bagels) but now I love them for so much more! 🤩😇
Robyn S — Google review
Ordered a 1/2 steak and cheese with cup of soup from hospital room and went downstairs to pick it up. It was ready within 2 minutes of our arrival. It was hot and soup was fine. That sandwich, however, was pitiful. Unable to call or go back down due to illness of loved one.
