The only waffle shop we went to because the reviews are the best! And it truly lived up to the reviews. The waffles are made fresh and the waffle itself tastes wonderful. We tried strawberry with chocolate, and cherries. The cherries one is amazing if you like cherry!

Famous waffle stand ! It’s good as its reputations from other reviews. Waffle are crispy and best part is chocolate are delicious. Whip cream are not too sweet. Overall is worth to try and you will love it. No cash they accepted only credit card. Always with long cues. I saw another branch at train station it looked the same and I believe it should taste the same. Enjoy !
Delicious waffles and fast service. You can customize your waffle with or without whipped cream. We bought different tastes and all were delicious.
The waffles were fresh, the belgian chocolate poured on top was super rich and tasty and the whipped cream was of surprisingly high quality, which made the waffles even more delicious. A bit on the pricier side, but worth it. The queue also moved really fast, so you don't have to wait for long.
The waffles are incredible. There's usually a long queue, but it's really worth the wait. I had the waffle with dark Belgian chocolate and it was delicious.

Chocolate ice cream waffle was light and tasty. They put two chocolate sauce instead of one chocolate sauce + chocolate ice cream. Later, when they brought ice cream, it was a bit melted. No idea how they could make such mistakes when there are many options on menu.

You must taste these waffles. They’re so light and fluffy and have a range of toppings. There are even savoury options though we opted for the sweet version. You can even make your own and select the toppings if your choice.
Everything was excellent! The savory waffle with mozzarella and pesto was full of flavor and perfectly balanced, and the Norwegian salmon waffle was fresh and delicious. The vanilla milkshake was creamy and just the right amount of sweet. The service was super friendly, and the atmosphere cozy and welcoming.
We would have loved to try the sweet waffles too — they looked absolutely exquisite, but we simply had no room left!

Service Staff: The young man at the other shop was so warm and friendly, and then the staff in this shop itself are friendly people as well. Since they made my day, I'd like to make their day by leaving a positive review!
Although I just ordered to share since I wasn't feeling too hungry, I felt that there was no lack of service.
First waffle experience in Belgium did not disappoint. I forgot to take pics of the kids sweet waffles but the adult ones were out of this world. I thought they’d be too heavy and we’d be stuffed but they were light and fantastic.

Anything less than ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is criminal, House of Waffles is spectacular! They have variations of waffles for breakfast, lunch, and dessert. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The Banana Bonanza waffle and hazelnut latte made for a delicious combo. They also have the freshest orange juice I’ve ever had! The waffles are large so ordering one is your best bet.
You can order at the window on the street for to-go waffles or walk in and select your own table. There is also restrooms available in the back of the restaurant.
The food was so so, fresh waffles but a bit bland. The custard was super tasty! The service was out of this world! They were very friendly, very attentive and super helpful.
You should try it out and judge yourself.

And if you’re in the mood for something cooler, their ice cream is just as amazing. Every flavor I’ve tried so far has been spot on creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with care.

Stopped by for a waffle after reading the great reviews and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the waffle I received was undercooked — the inside was raw and doughy, missing that signature crisp exterior and airy interior that make a perfect waffle. Sadly, it wasn’t something I could eat.
The aroma was promising though, so hopefully it was just an off day.

The Biscoff Special may be one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. We made a special trip to Bruges just to have it again. Highly recommend!

Some of the best ice cream we had during our travels. Flavours are fresh and natural. Must try the banana. Reasonably priced, starts at €2,50 for one scoop. Cups come with a small waffle inside. Staff were friendly and helpful, gave us tastes of flavours.

When I was still studying at the nearby high school, I came here every Friday evening to grab a nice, hot, fresh made waffle. To this day, this is in my opinion the best place to just grab a casual waffle while you're exploring the center of Bruges. It's very close to everything, and usually doesn't get *that* busy, but in the summer months it can get quite a bit of people.

Lizzie's Wafels is a must-visit spot in Bruges, located just a short walk from Markt. The café offers massive, light and crispy waffles that are the size of your head, served with a rich chocolate sauce and dusted with icing sugar. Visiting this place was long overdue. Finally visited them yesterday. What a special place this is. The waffles are absolutely amazing. The owner is hands on, welcoming every patron. There's something special about a owner run business, it's that level of class that is maintained. Don't leave Brugge without visiting this place.

These waffles are everything a great waffle should be: perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, with generous and delicious toppings. What I really appreciated is that they serve the toppings on the side, so the waffle keeps its crunch—otherwise you’d just end up with a soggy version of what was once a waffle. You can take your time enjoying them in a relaxed setting, with excellent service to match. The price is a bit higher compared to other options in Bruges, but it’s absolutely worth it. There’s simply no comparison. If you’re going to have a waffle, make it an outstanding one like the kind they serve here.

Lizzie’s Waffles is an absolute gem in Bruges! The waffles quite literally melt in your mouth, with a range of mouth-watering toppings to choose from. We were lucky enough to be served by Lizzie herself – it seems to be a lovely family-run business, and the warm, friendly atmosphere really made our visit special. The coffee was out of this world – easily the best we had on our trip! We loved it so much we went both days of our holiday and will definitely be back next time we’re in Bruges.
The employees were very nice and the waffles are soft and airy. I recommend getting extra toppings since the waffle itself is not too sweet.

The loaded fries and house burger are highly recommended, although some found the cheese overload to be too much. It’s rare to see a team work so smoothly together while staying cheerful the whole time!
The place itself has a modern and cozy vibe with hanging lights, wooden tables, and a casual setup that makes it perfect for both locals and travelers. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but thanks to how well-organized the team was, everything moved quickly.
Tables rotated efficiently, and we didn’t have to wait long at all before enjoying our meal.

Oh my goodness, they were unforgettable! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and topped with generous layers of fresh ingredients.
We tried two versions: one loaded with crispy bacon, onions, and herbs, and another with rich pork stew sauce and mayo. Both were heavenly. We paired them with a couple of Brugse Zot beers, a local favorite, which made the meal even better.
Even after leaving, I couldn’t stop thinking about those fries, they were that good. If you’re in Bruges, don’t miss Fritbar.

Extremely popular place. We entered at 1pm and sat down immediately, but a large queue formed after us. I had the regular fries and they were extremely oily. I had a spicy mayo sauce, which was nice. The burger was good apparently. Large portion size. Kind servers and fast.
I had the best burger for the last 10 years of my life. It was light and tasty. Bacon was super soft. Was melting in my mouth. Unbelievably good. Chicken wings were phenomenal. Seriously. I am shocked. Also fries are nice. Not soggy nor greasy. If you are reading this, don’t hesitate a second. You won’t regret anything.
Our evening at Fritbar in Bruges became truly unforgettable thanks to Mr. Joseph. His energy, charm, and genuine passion for hospitality transformed a simple dinner into a whole experience.
He recommended the most delicious dishes on the menu, guided us through the beer list like a true sommelier, and even turned the process of pouring beer into a full performance — elegant, precise, and so impressive that we couldn’t stop smiling.
Mr. Joseph didn’t just serve us — he created a memory. And that is the highest level of service.

There were queues outside for this place which is a great sign. We were looking for a place which made fries cooked in vegetable oil and this was the only place we could find. Most places in Belgium cook their chips/fries in beef fat and being vegetarian that was a no go for me. The loaded fries are definitely worth the wait here and I went for the veggie chilli loaded fries.
My reason for giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is purely down to the service. The portion sizes were huge and my daughter and I wanted to share the fries. I asked for the truffle mayo to be served on the side instead of on top as my daughter doesn’t like mayo. The response I got was ‘no we can’t do that as it will confuse the staff if there are too many changes’. You either have it, don’t have it or order it as a separate side’. That was it - no flexibility to put the mayo on the side. For me that wasn’t so much the issue but it was the tone and manner in which the response was delivered.
Given the queues outside this place and the good food I guess even if service is below standard, they aren’t bothered as they have the numbers coming through the door.

Local Belgian fries alert! There is a long queue in front of the place and you may need to wait. I liked the options with different sauces. Sweet potato fries were absolutely my favorite. Service was great and the staff were welcoming.
While the aesthetic does give off overpriced burger place, the food itself is not only quite good but also fairly priced. The service is functional if a bit impersonal, and the burger I had was probably the messiest burger I've had in a while (it was still absolutely delicious). I do generally recommend this place to anyone craving a simple burger or some loaded fries.
Very busy and interesting place to dine - most everything is frites (French fries, or Belgian fries) with a variety of toppings. Service is fast and efficient with everything moving quickly - have your order ready! Prices about 15 euro but portions are large, enough that mu daughter and I split one. Beer selection is good as in most of Belgium and prices reasonable. Located in historic part of town, near beautiful canals and churches - worth walking to.

Had a great meal at this lively, traditional brasserie. The absolute star of the show was the fish stew – it was incredibly rich, creamy, and packed with flavour. A must-try dish! The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which added to the great experience.
While the beef stew was decent, the real highlight was definitely the fish. The sides we had, like the frites and mashed potatoes, were fine but nothing special.
I would highly recommend coming here for the amazing fish stew and the bustling, classic beer hall atmosphere.
The food was very tasty and in a good portion. But it's sad I came for the mussel but it sold out 15 minutes before I ordered. Here they are famous about hare dish, but I was too scared to have it so I tried the beef instead with the same sauce. The wave was very tender, and the sauce was very fresh. The staff were very nice and helpful. They always smile and attentive.
Lovely restaurant to experience authentic Flemish cuisine! We tried the onion soup, stew, chicken, and salmon — everything was absolutely delicious. Although the place was packed, the staff managed to find us a table for four in under 10 minutes. It’s quite lively and a bit noisy, but you still have enough space to enjoy your meal comfortably. Traditional Bruges restaurant they said. They served their local beer which are more famous than the food. Beer are quite strong for me. Appetizers are really good but the main dishes are just average for me. Seating are comfortable. Credit card accepted. Enjoy !
It was bustling in the mid to late afternoon, and outdoor seating was full, but we squeezed into a table indoors. We stopped in for a quick bite. We were able to get in relatively quickly and the service was prompt given how busy and crowded it was. The truffle mayo fries were incredible. We almost ordered more because my daughter practically inhaled them. The hot dog and beer were also quite as well. Great spot!

Bittenball barely had any meat in it.. it says different meats in different balls but tasted like mush.
The stew was average. Classic bland European stew. Avoid the food and get the beers.
Mussels are fresh, but not really rich in flavours (I guess as I’m coming from a culture where mussels are usually cooked with several spices rather than plain).
Different kinds of beer to choose, the atmosphere at the bar is great!

The food is beyond delicious, I ordered the fettuccine verdi and I can say I have never eaten such good pasta at a restaurant, and I live in Italy. My girlfriend ordered the beef burger and she's loved it just as much. Great experience overall, I highly recommend it.

The decoration is great. The fireplace in the outdoor bar creates the perfect ambience. A restaurant you should visit when you come to Bruges. The food menu looks very ambitious. Since we only had time to drink coffee, we tasted their delicious coffee. I recommend you to come.
So....I saw some bad reviews of the restaurant but we'd booked so we went with it. And I'm soooo glad we did. I do not recognise the restaurant described in the bad reviews. We had a lovely welcome, fabulous food and great service. In fact I would go as far as to say the food was amazing. I loved that we were not rushed, I loved that we had ample space. I loved the ambulance, the deco, the seating and the music.
Thought we were in a for a treat, setting was fantastic and seduced me in. However my my my, the food was something else, absolute shit show that cost me £40 for a plate of steak and mash, tough and something you would get at Butlins.
Don’t even get me started on service, they were ware of arrogant and dismissive and my word the manager thought he had fell out of gods arse.
Bott line is this restaurant is overpriced and overrated, so if you’re reading this go somewhere else xx
Never experienced a manger more rude that wasn’t willing to try and resolve a horrible dining experience! We spent €300 on a meal the manager wasn’t willing to rectify after we had already paid for the meal which was very poor. The manager took away a customers full plate of uneaten poor meat and never offered a resolution! I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE TO NOT EAT HERE!!
On a Saturday night they managed to fit us in at the last minute. Thank goodness, we were staying in the hotel so it was very simple and easy to eat here. The menu is a perfect size, enough to find variety and not too much to confuse the eater. We had 4 tapas dishes which were huge, be aware two of these world have been enough for 4 to share. We had mussels and salads for main courses and plenty of drinks. The service was exceptional, very friendly and personable. The owners are siblings and both served us. The rapport they had with their staff was clear to see and really lovely. Everyone seemed very happy and we're working so hard. We loved it dinner and retiring to the bar area to continue our evening. It was fantastic. It is pricy, however it's worth every penny. Thank you...

The Old Chocolate House is a charming family-run shop and tearoom in Bruges, known for its homemade hot chocolate, truffles, gingerbread, cookies, tea, and coffee. Started by Francoise Thomaes, the cozy atmosphere is adorned with photos of family members and regular patrons. With about 20 varieties of hot chocolate to choose from, it has become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
This was such a cute find in Bruges! We were able to customize our hot cocos: %s of white, milk and dark chocolates. All the material came in a tray and we were given whisks ti mix it into a large cup of milk. We also tried 2 of their waffles and tea- everything was delicious.

I had been before, but wanted to take the husband and teen. I love a hot chocolate, by they are not fussed untill they tried out this place. They absolutely loved it. Definitely best hot chocolate around and worth buying the chocolate drops to tallke home with you as well.
We ordered two hot chocolates: Costa Rica (for my husband, since he is lactose intolerant) and Venezuela for me. Honestly, this was the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in my life – rich, smooth, and so comforting. It gave me such a warm and cozy feeling.
What makes this place truly special is that they let you make your own hot chocolate step by step. Mixing the chocolate into the hot milk myself was such a unique and fun touch. It made me appreciate what I was drinking on a deeper level, almost like a little ritual.
The chocolate itself is high quality and full of flavor, though I did notice a high amount of cocoa butter, which makes it feel a little heavy after a while. Still, it was absolutely delicious and worth it.

We visited this place with high expectations as it’s said to serve the best hot chocolate but honestly we didn’t like it that much. It was just ok ok. You have to place at least one order per person. We tried their hot chocolates, coffe and mouse. The mouse was really good. The prices are high too. The ambiance is beautiful though.
We bought 250 grams of chocolate to take home, it was incredible. We also had the chance to try their hot chocolate in the tea room, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. The place is beautifully decorated and has such a cozy atmosphere.
We were a little worried that this was just a gimmick, but it was totally worth it. Beautifully prepared and unique, plus delicious and rich chocolate. The waffle plain with a little bit of vanilla ice cream was a great compliment. Worth a visit!
We recently in Brugge and found this great shoppe. An amazing place. The staff were extremely welcoming and proficient. The Best Hot Chocolate is no joke. The waffles were delicious.

Nestled just beyond the historic St. John's Hospital in Bruges, Otto Waffle Atelier Katelijnestraat is redefining the beloved Belgian waffle experience. Originally crafted for the 1958 Expo in Brussels, this artisanal bakery offers a unique twist on tradition by using oats instead of wheat and presenting their waffles in an elegant embroidery flower shape—a nod to Bruges' rich lace-making heritage.
Beautiful atmosphere and a great concept – you can watch both the preparation and the making of the waffles by hand. Everything is freshly made and carefully arranged, and the waffles tasted absolutely delicious. We were lucky to find a seat in the backyard, where we could enjoy them with a lovely view of the canal.

Tasty waffles! These had a much lighter texture than many we tried in Belgium. They tasted healthier, especially with many fruit toppings available. The pomegranate chocolate nib flavor/texture combo was very good. I also enjoyed that they were shaped like Belgian lace squares. The waffles were pretty pricey, but it makes sense given its location on a central tourist street. There was a pretty view of the canal you could watch while eating your waffle. :)
This is a wonderful place to take a break. The environment is beautiful with a lovely view of the river, and the staff were very friendly.

Best thing ever!!! All of the flavors just click. The pomegranate and cacao give it a crunch. The waffles are spongy and moist. The strawberries and whip cream give it a slight sweetness. Best, nothing is too sweet and its light. I could eat this everyday.

It almost felt like home to us :) Thanks again for everything :) PS; 2 side dishes and 1 main course was enough for two of us. With this considered, prices are quite fair.

Maybe we came on an off day, but it was not as good as I had hoped. Food was overcooked (dry chicken). I like this type of cuisine, but this place did not do it justice. Maybe I should give it a second try or grab a bite from their Street Food location.
Oh my god guys DONT SKIP ON THE FRIES!! THEYRE SOOOO GOOD!! This place was really good, staff was nice. I fell in love with the fries haha. The halloumi wasn’t great to be honest but was ok, I was expecting better. It’s only takeaway which is a bit impractical but I sat on a bench in a park which was nice. My dish had pita bread but I’m gluten intolerant so they gave me the option to either have extra salad or extra fries so I got salad but I should have gotten fries because they were so good! Overall it was great.
Nice food and ambiance, but the staff seemed a bit impatient with us, possibly because we came in on the later side (still well before closing time). We were told we'd need to wait for a table, and the staff seemed a bit annoyed that we agreed to do so instead of just leaving. Other than that, we have recommended the food and found a decent spread of vegetarian options.

Excellent Greek cuisine! Everything we had was amazing from the 2 appetizers of dolmades and tzatziki to the 3 entrees of pork souvlaki, moussaka and lamb chops. The ambiance was very cool too. I highly recommend this restaurant.
If this were a vegan restaurant, I'd give it 5 stars. They only have a couple of vegan dishes and several vegetarian ones. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and an absolutely lovely meal! We had the vegan souvlaki and it was delicious. It came with a garlic tzakiki sauce to die for, fabulous potatoes, rice pilaf and a salad. I highly recommend it. They also had vegan dolmades but I couldn't fit it all so we'll have to go back to try them. We were served an unexpected but wonderful dessert of marzipan in a light syrup that was so delicious I wanted to lick the plate. We also got plum wine at the end of our meal. I can't wait to return to lovely Bruges and The Olive Tree for another delicious meal.

Lovely place for breakfast. We had the vegetarian plate, which was plenty of food: 2 eggs, halloumi, salad, toast, mushrooms and tomato. I had the classic toast with avocado, egg and asparagus. The food was served quickly. We sat in the garden in the corner and it was lovely. Good flat white coffee also. Very popular place, when we left there was a queue to enter. The staff were very nice
On Saturday we came here for a quick lunch. Unfortunately the sandwich I've ordered had mold on it. After notifying the staff I got a new one. The sandwich was also deducted from the bill. Although handled professionally it should not occur in the first place. I would expect for a sandwich place to serve fresh bread.
That's toast was a recommendation from a local during our stay in Brugge and it didn't disappoint. There are variety of options for breakfast and we went for a veggie breakfast plate. Everything on the plate was super tasty and the coffee was also delicious. The service was exceptionally fast considering the crowd. They also have a lovely garden to sit and enjoy the good weather. I enjoyed my visit to Thats toast for breakfast. The staff were friendly and the service was great, which made the place feel very welcoming. The menu is a bit limited though, with not many pastries, and I’d love to see more vegetarian options. The biggest letdown for me was the coffee, it wasn’t very good and could really benefit from better roasted beans. Overall, it’s a nice spot with a warm atmosphere, but the menu and coffee could use some improvement.

Very simple bar only sale beer and soft drinks for kids. When you order your beer, they will accompany your beer with a small plate of cheese. That’s it! But the beer is really good!
Best spot in Bruges for a beer. Head upstairs and get a seat by the window. Enjoy some great artisan bread, meats, and cheeses with their great selection of Belgian beers. Cheers to the owner for being such a great host to us.
The house beer, De Garre Tripel is what all beer should be. Also their Gulden Draak on tap is nice. They have lots of other beer on menu to try. Good vibes and free cheese too
If you're in Bruges and want to try an authentic craft beer, you can't miss De Garre. I recommend reading a bit about the history of this beer (which shares its name with the pub)... its flavor is unmistakable (you have to try it!). It has an 11% alcohol content and is served with a portion of cheese (a perfect and quite common combination in Belgium). The pub is very simple and located in a narrow medieval alley. A complete experience!
This is a hidden gem located down a tiny alleyway close to the main square in Brugge. At the end of the alleyway there is a set of steep steps leading a somewhat anonymous doorway. Beyond that door is a wonderful, atmospheric "olde worlde" bar with a fantastic selection of beers served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Try the house tripel it is excellent. Do not miss this bar. You may have to be a little be patient and wait for a seat on busy days but it is worthwhile.

As a small family run restaurant you can tell they put an emphasis on the quality of each of the dishes they serve.
The fries were absolutelty delicious and being homemade from real potatos makes them standout. Flemish stew was also delicious.
It may feel pricier than other dining options in the town but not with much and for the quality it is worth it.
Plus, the atmosphere in the outside garden was lovely.

When we visited the door of the restaurant was really stiff, we nearly thought that it was closed, you have to push it hard. We were received, I believe by the owner and she was really friendly.

This place was our all time favorite of Belgium after 3 years of living in country. Very limited tables run by a family so a reservation is a true must. Over the years the hostess even remembered the family members i brought there. So I am writing this review so that they always have plenty of business, because we no longer need it to be a secret. The atmosphere and service were always perfect. The meals are truly wonderfully done. Not a tourist experience in the slightest, but rather representative of the Belgium we came to know and love.

The food is very good but the main dishes are a little “heavy”.
The young waiter was super nice, but the lady waitress was a little “sassy”. My husband was in a meeting and got there late, and she said at least three times when I asked her things: “IF he comes”, which sounds odd to me since of course he would come if I reserved a table for two. Sounds to me like she was trying to say that maybe I would get ghosted, which is very funny to me.
I’ve been traveling with him for years since he has meetings in different countries, and never heard that kind of stuff while waiting for service.
But in general, good experience for tradicional Belgium food.
This restaurant is absolutely adorable, such a lovely, cozy place with a truly homely atmosphere. The lady who welcomed us (I believe she’s also the owner) was incredibly kind and attentive.
We had a local dark beer she recommended and it was so good. And for food, we tried the meatballs in sauce (fantastic!) and the shrimp croquettes, which were also delicious. Everything was beautifully presented on the plate.
She even kindly let us step outside to have a beer and a cigarette on the terrace, even though it was officially closed, such a nice gesture!
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Brugge at the moment.

We booked a stay at Duc De Bourgogne and were absolutely shocked by what we experienced.
Yes, the hotel is old - that was expected, and not an issue at all. What was completely unacceptable was that we found a BEDBUG in our room. Alarmed, we immediately went to the owner, who didn’t even seem surprised. Instead, he casually told us that they had already tried “steaming and cleaning” the room and were just hoping the bugs would magically disappear. He admitted they had a problem and said they would be replacing the mattress, while oddly blaming “the French” for it.
At 10 PM, they moved us to another hotel they cooperate with. While we appreciated that they found us a place to stay, the alternative hotel was cheaper than what we had originally booked. We had to file a complaint with booking just to get the price difference refunded.
What is truly outrageous is that they knowingly put guests in a room with bedbugs, charged us the full amount, and only acted when we confronted them. The consequences were serious: after the stay, both of us had to throw away our suitcases, wash clothes at 60°C (some were ruined), and even freeze our designer bags to avoid contamination. The costs and stress we’ve had to bear because of this are extremely high.
This is simply scandalous. I do not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. Avoid at all costs.
The service was well enough. Waited for food a little too long for the amount of people there, which was not much. My order was the wrong kind of pasta. Didn't say anything since I didn't want to wait longer to eat. Food was nothing special not bad but far from the best we had in the city. Rank near the bottom we had the whole week we were there.
I put 5 stat for room as there was no option for food.
The service from Frederick and Saskia was excellent. Advised us on great wines and food choices. They were so very attentive while also giving us our space.
The escargot were big and juicy and well seasoned. The crab ravioli were well cooked and the sauce excellent. The tbone steak was perfectly cooked and honestly one of rhe best I've had for a long time. The chocolate mouse was perfectly made and just rhe right size and the french liquor coffee was spot on. House wine very acceptable and the the cab sav was a great match to the wine.
140 for 2 people for that level of food and service in the centre of the city and at that location is well worth the price.

BED BUGS – Worst Hotel Experience of My Life
If I could give negative stars, I would. I left this hotel with over 80 bed bug bites, and the staff showed zero care or responsibility. They repeated the same excuse mentioned in other reviews — “new mattress, everything is clean” which is clearly not true.
The bites have been extremely painful and inflamed for days, causing constant itching, swelling, and sleepless nights even after leaving the hotel. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience it has seriously affected my health and the rest of my trip.
The room was musty, poorly maintained, and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. We even had to spend an entire day washing all our clothes and luggage to avoid bringing the infestation.
What’s even worse is seeing other recent guests report the exact same issue and receive the same dismissive response. This isn’t an accident it’s neglect.
I honestly don’t know how this hotel is still operating. It’s run more like an abandoned hostel than a hotel. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Tea-Room De Proeverie is a classic and unforgettable tea room located in Bruges. It's a cozy and lovely place with friendly waitresses, a warm fireplace, and excellent service. The menu also features delicious delicacies to accompany your drink.
This is basically the best waffles we had all over belgium even much better than other famous Brussels spots, the waffles were very crispy had a rich flavor, the chocolate sauce felt like actual melted chocolate not a syrup like most other areas, the whipped cream also was very rich.
Cappuccino is great and you get 4 chocolate biscuits samples with it along with whipped cream without extra charge.
Service is very good and the place is cozy, definitely a must visit when you are in Bruges.

Everything is fresh and delicious but the owner/bar tender gives off some racist and unwelcoming vibes if you are a person of color. Normal for this far north in europe but just know what to expect.
A wonderful interlude after a long sightseeing walk. Service for taking and bringing our order was fast. The rooibos tea and decaf macchiato were perfect and you get chocolates with them!. The tea scones were delicious, some of the best we’ve ever had … and we’ve had many in the UK. The meringue cream cake was sublime. Highly recommend!
Excellent tea room! We made reservations for high tea by reserving online. We were not sure what to expect, but there was so much food that we couldn't eat it all in one sitting. We had a variety of scones, sandwiches, chocolates, jam, delicious desserts and unlimited tea and coffee. The chef kindly packed up the leftovers for us.
Service was top notch immediately upon arrival. Super friendly owner and family. We could not have asked for better service or better quality food. So worth the trip and we hope to return again.

L'Estaminet is a typical pub located in the city center of Bruges near the Astridpark, drawing in both locals and tourists. They don’t care to have tourists. Waiter was rude and unfriendly and was very clear that tourists were not welcome because it was a restaurant for the local so don’t bother going to that restaurant even if is refer by other local persons. We when on the 1/2 hour boat tour and Ms Sara , the captain, took pride in recommending that restaurant and it turn out to be a disappointment. I wish I had the name of the waiter to call him by his name. As a tourist it leave you either a bad taste even thought the experience in Bruges was great.
Tried this place as hoped to sample some good local cooking and we were not disappointed. We arrived relatively early for dinner and the old part was already full but there was room in the conservatory. It soon filled up!
The menu is not huge but the portions are! We had pork cheeks and the fish pie. Both were excellent, the fish pie has plenty of fish and a delicious cheesy sauce. Interesting choice of beers too. Service not the fastest but OK considering it was so busy.

I love when places make classic dishes their own. The Diábolo lasagna is to die for and the salad was not only beautiful but delicious and balanced. We got a recommendation from a local and she said… “it’s one of my favorite places.” We definitely understand why. Portions are abundant and in general it has a local vibe. It’s definitely a great place to dine in whenever you are in Brugge. Definitely good for foodies like us.

One of the best pastas I've ever had. I really loved the Bocca and four cheeses. The price is amazingly cheap compared to the quality and other restaurants in the area. I went there for two days continuously. You can dine there as well on a long nice table. The food is also ready in just minutes.

Food: Excellent! They offer a “surprise” tasting menu (no substitutions allowed). Mix of meat, fish, and veggie courses, and everything is dressed up with fresh edible herbs and flowers. Note that the website says that if you want to upgrade the lunch tasting menu that you need to request with your reservation, but they offered the upgrade to me on the spot.
Service: Server was nice; every course was well explained. The chef even came out to explain one of the dishes.
Atmosphere: Beautiful! Not sure you can go wrong in Bruges. The restaurant is located in a quieter section, so it was really nice to sit outside and enjoy the meal!
Absolute 10 out of 10. So creative but never at the expense of deliciousness. Lunch was a 5-course set menu and the chef made sure to visit every table to provide info on the dishes being served. I am also a huge fan of the vibe/decor of Bruut. Very cool.
What a special place! The chef will attest that this restaurant is not "fancy." And while there are no white tablecloths or synchronized service and dishes appear more on the wholesome side; make no mistake. There is incredible technique and complexity on every plate.
Of course it goes without saying that a meal here is best enjoyed with a wine pairing. It is clear how closely the chef and sommelier work together to create the entire dining experience.
Lastly, I don't really like sweets or desserts but I will never forget that rolled crepe.
One of the best dining, food, and wine experiences I have ever had. The food was innovative, the wine pairings were perfect, and featured many natural wines that were some of the best I have ever tasted. Bruno was there at every dish, explaining, sharing his vision, and it made the experience so rich and truly next level. It's not bougie, but high level rustic, perfect, not pretentious. I could list every course and tell you how beautiful and thoughtful each one was, but he adapts the menu as ingredients come available, so, don't walk, RUN to Bruut if you are in the COUNTRY of Belgium. It will be the best food experience you have had in a long time. I will be back, without a doubt.
A great find. Starting from the rustic setting, the Grower Champagne (Bistrøtage B19, on par with Grand Cru Cuvées) and the delightful dishes. Among the highlights was the salad, inspiried by Michael Bras' canonical "Gargouillou", along with the monkfish and veal, where the carefully curated vegetable sidedishes almost stole the show.
On a side-note for potentiell guests:
If more on the high-strung or thin-skinned side better steer clear, if you can not handle playful banter.

Bistro Bruut had such a creative and inspiring menu. Our waiter and chef were fantastic and brought such a sense of personality to the place. The decor and setting were fantastic and really added to the experience, we would gladly recommend to anyone! The only thing I noticed was that toilets are down some quite steep stairs so if you have any mobility restrictions this might not be the most accessible place.

We visited this place during our recent holiday. The place was not very busy, however it was mid-week. We ordered pizzas and had Belgian beet and wine for drinks. The quality of food was good and the pizzas were nicely baked. The service standard was decent. The toilets were clean. We sat indoor as the weather was cold.
Food was good. They do have good number of vegetarian options as compared to other joints around the area. Centrally located amongst many other food joints. Service was not bad. Staff weren't too friendly but weren't bad as well. Overall not a bad experience.

On the door it stated “specialised in pizza” so I expected something and went for the pizza. I got terribly disappointed. The dough was horrible, like prefabricated or from the freezer and definitely not the Italian style. The crust was totally not crunchy and light and had a weird taste. I was very disappointed with the pizza, it could have been so much better. The pasta we ordered was nice tho, so afterwards I really regretted my choice. I think the “specialised in pizza” is very overrated, especially for people who enjoy a real Italian pizza. Overall it was an okey place.

Located right in the heart of the touristy area, I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was actually good! Very thin, crispy dough and a nice selection to choose from. Not life-changing, but definitely enjoyable. The only downside is the seating inside tables are packed quite close, so don’t expect much privacy. We ended up sharing a few laughs with the table next to us, which was fun, but it’s not the place for a quiet or intimate dinner. Great for a casual bite in a central location

There was a concert when we were there and that contributed lively atmosphere. This restaurant is a bit on the expensive side. It is pleasant inside as well.

We visited Bruges for the first time on a windy and chilly day, and I was really craving something warm and comforting — especially a nice seafood dish. This restaurant was the perfect choice. The mussels were incredibly fresh, juicy, and full of flavor, just what I was hoping for.

If you’re a hungry tourist and need a safe spot to grab a bite this could be your place. We had the onion soup, tuna salad and croque monsier. Salad was a standout - really good and the soup was tasty. Pass on the sandwich - truly nothing enjoyable.
Pro tip: when in a town like this find the four star hotels and jump in for a bite or hot chocolate.
My partner and I spontaneously came in early in the evening and we both ordered steaks. We've been extremely satisfied with our food. The homemade sauces and the Mayonnaise were really tasty, just like the steaks which were nicely cooked.
Great service (helpful for an English speaker) and delicious food. The mussels and fries were amazing and the curry chicken was such a lovely fusion of flavours - so satisfying!

I wanted to love this place. It’s mentioned in Rick Steve’s book but it just didn’t hit the mark. The food was ok. My husband and his friend had a pasta dish that looked so unappealing. I had naan and toppings and soup. It was good. My friend had a salad. She said it was good. What I found frustrating was that although we were 4 of maybe 10 people there for lunch it took over an hour to get our food. The service was so slow. Also, I had placed my water bottle on the table at some point and the gentleman serving us abruptly told me I can’t drink my own water!! I wasn’t -I just didn’t want my bottle on the ground. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Lovely place, very nice staff (they also speak good English), tasty food. This is our third time here, we won't miss a visit to Den Amand when coming to Brugges. Had the Caserecce pasta with shrimps and the mildly spicy scampi with pasta, could not recommend them enough! Also, nice white wine of the house.
P.S. very clean bathroom too, which is always a plus!
The food was delightful; I was particularly impressed by the spring rolls. The beer was also very good. The staff member, perhaps the owner, was exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering excellent food recommendations.
As a last minute dinner decision, Bistro Den Amand exceeded every expectation! The restaurant is small and cozy and exceptionally clean. The service is great and the food is absolutely incredible. The sea bass off the specials menu was amazing. Recommend calling for a reservation as there are very few tables and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to dine here.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Den Amand! Both the steak and fish were well-cooked. The ‘krieltjes’ are a recommendation, as is the mushroom sauce! The latter I could have drank an entire glass of. Service was friendly and quick. House wine paired well with our dishes.
We came for dinner and had the Soup of the Day (Pumpkin, very delicious) and the Fish Soup, which we found excellent. As main course we chose one suggestion, Capellini with fresh mushrooms, gorgonzola, cherry tomatos, Parmesan cheese, ... very well prepared and delicious. The other main dish was the Vegetarian Wok Medley, an intersting, very tasty combonation of different ingredients.
The house wine (red) was smooth and pleasant.
We finished with a mini mousse au chocolat, which we liked as well. My wife and myself both appreciated An's cooking, she knows what what she's doing in the kitchen! Arnaud's service was helpful and friendly, the price level at avergae Brugge niveau. We'll be back when we return to Brugge!

Second time coming here on holiday and it was just as good as three years ago! We tried the dark and milk hot chocolate, and were delighted with the sample of chocolate we got alongside. We also bought a few bags of chocolates to take home, which taste incredible.

The girls there are so polite and attentive and calm. And a mini chocolate bar with the brownie was such a personal and attentive touch. It was one of my favorite coffee places! Best of luck!
This is a must when visiting Bruges! It has such a good vibe and the people working there are incredibly kind and welcoming – you instantly feel at home, almost like a local.
We loved it so much we came back twice. The first time we had cappuccinos (the best in town!) along with a selection of their chocolates – rich, smooth and perfectly crafted. Truly the best Belgian chocolate we’ve tried! The second time, we went for the caffe mocha, which was also excellent, and later stayed for wine. That’s an extra plus about this place: you don’t need to move on somewhere else – it works just as well for coffee in the morning as it does for wine in the afternoon, all while watching people pass by, reading a book and enjoying the beautiful street. Another thing we really liked is how relaxed it feels – no rush, just a spot where you can sit back and enjoy Bruges at its best.

Very good chocolate and great family-owned business. This is a true family-owned business that's been making chocolate for generations. You can't say that about that for every chocolate shop in Bruges, Belgium. The son of the chocolate chair runs the shop day-to-day. He is very friendly, and the family very much cares. You can tell a high-quality chocolate from the crack of the chocolate as you bite into it. We hope the business continues to thrive, and we hope to visit again soon.
This place came recommended but the service was disappointing - chatting amongst staff members and preparing goods for the Xmas period was more important than serving customers standing right in front of you. The kind of place that makes you feel invisible and that serving you is such an effort. I hope they were just having a bad day but with 62 chocolate shops to choose from why would you bother?

Staff were friendly and attentive and were genuinely pleased to make you feel welcome. Set behind the busy streets next to the Chocolate museum, Vero Caffè is well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

First day I went with my family and the food was fantastic, so I decided to take my friends who visited me to have lunch there again. The food & drinks are amazing especially The Italian coffee, I love it! The dessert I suggest “Homemade Snickers” the staffs are professional & helpful. My little ones asked for some ice cream with apples which is not on the menu but the team made it happen for him 💕

Affordable yet delicious food, we tried panini goat cheese as I'm vegetarian (apple tasted great although I was skeptic at first), my wife tried chicken panini, both of them were delicious hot & filling. I would highly recommend.

Visited FlavouRRs with a friend, I got the citron sorbet and she got the espresso ice cream. Sorbet was sweet and refreshing on this 31 degree day in Brugge. My friend said the espresso flavour was rich and had a great texture. The cones were obviously homemade and therefore delicious. Server was extremely friendly and we felt welcome!
Again I was driven here while searching for high scores and good reviews. The waffle was good (I've had better) and the ice cream was average when comparing to other gelatos having the same price. We've had 6 flavors and none blew us away as I was expecting by reading the reviews.
There are many dessert places in Bruges, so you're spoilt for choice. We had the pistachio and passion fruit ice cream on a cone which was full of flavour like the ship suggests. The cone was also fresh tasting as well.
Used to come here very often when studying at a nearby high school. Was in the area again recently, and it is just as good as I remembered.
Great place for a quick coffee and some ice cream. One of the few places in town that actually serves ice cream during winter! Props for that haha

Le Trappiste in Bruges, Belgium is a fantastic destination for beer enthusiasts. Housed in a stunning 13th-century cellar that was once a coopers workshop, the bar offers an impressive selection of around 20 Belgian beers on tap, ranging from dark stouts to light blondes. Additionally, there's an extensive menu of bottled beers including renowned Trappist varieties.
One of the best places we encountered on a weekend visit to Bruges. Id seen the bar had been recommended often however the medieval style basement was part of the attraction
that came across very authentic and in keeping with the city itself.
There was a great (and very large!) selection of beers and some very good ones available on tap. It's a great place to try more unusual beers too as there's some which do not appear to be available as often elsewhere.

If you are in the city and you don’t go to this bar, you will be sad. We were in Belgium for 12 days and this is the absolute best place to drink beer. Totally fun inside with lots of people having a great time and as you can see from the photos, it’s a really interesting room. The people working there know all about beer and it is served at the perfect temperature in a specific glass for the beer you are getting. This is a must see. One note is that the hours on Google shows 5 PM but during the time we were there in mid May, it was opening at 6 PM. Also, you don’t have to pay a premium to get a beer here, it was the same price or better than any other place in town.
Interesting old cellar with a large amount of different beers! Beer can be tasted before ordering, which delighted us. Buckwheat beer is great! The space is very interesting. We were there when it was very hot and ventilation was a bit of a problem...
Best beer bar we went to in bruges. The guy at door, who seats you, set good tone from start and we stayed a lot longer than planned. There is tap beer and loads of bottles. After picking some myself I asked barman for some help and it really got better from there. Some unusual stuff. The place is pretty and a cool place just to be. There are a lot of tourists there but doesn't come across as false at all. Would highly recommend going and being adventurous with choices.
Beautiful basement bar with quite stunning brick vaulting. Great beer selection and very friendly, helpful staff. Can be difficult to find. Just a doorway leading down some steep brick steps but well worth the effort. Order and pay at the bar.
What an amazing historic venue. Delicious succulent spectrum of beers, served with stories and smiles from Maximilius and Tom. #2, 13, 15, 18 and 25 plus more. Highly recommend for some pints and history of Belgium!
Great selection of beer, friendly staff and very good ambient music. This is a seated only pub so not too crowded but on peak times you may experience a queue. Worth a visit!
Le Trappiste is the underground bar experience in Bruges. Loud, lively, and buzzing with energy definitely not your quiet catch-up kind of place, but absolutely a must-go for the full Belgian vibe. They’ve got an impressive beer selection with so many types to try, making it a perfect stop for beer lovers. It’s one of those places you just have to feel for yourself. A real Bruges classic.

Delicious freshly made hot waffles with melted Belgian chocolate and a choice of a topping. What more could you want! We tried waffles from other shops and these were our fave. 5.50 Euro each.
Slight variation of the Belgian waffle by putting it on a stick. Made fresh and you have the choice of what type of chocolate-milk, white or dark covered and your choice from several toppings. Cost is 5.50 euro. Depending on time of day, there can be a line but moves quickly. Not a bad alternative to the traditional waffle options.

And the waffles are amazing as well, you can choose your toppings and the type of chocolate, plus they was an option for lactose free and gluten free that for me was a must due to you don’t find that everywhere

Unique take on the Belgian waffle. Good selection of toppings and it's nice to be able to see them make your waffle in front of you. It was just missing a little fork/spoon to be able to eat the toppings etc that fall off the waffle.
BEST HOT CHOCOLATE!! Would highly recommend the dark chocolate, it is not too sweet. We tried the milk chocolate, it is delicious too if you have a major sweet tooth. Came here twice in two days, wouldn’t go anywhere else. €3, can’t beat it

De Vloamse Trine is a delightful gem in Brugge, perfect for larger groups seeking a diverse menu. I walked in looking for a table, and I am so pleased there was availability! The staff was professional and suggested a local dish, which I enjoyed so much! I had my first pornstar cocktail, and it was delicious -- I ordered another one! The passion fruit in the cocktail gave it a beautiful twist! Vol au vent was my main course and it was delicous! I was skeptical about the apple pie for dessert, but I ordered it anyway. When it came, the aroma was so heavenly and mouth watering. This restaurant made my visit to Brugge worth every moment!

Excellent restaurant-beerhouse with large, delicious portions of food and very good tapas to accompany your beers. The place is beautiful and the service is fast and efficient. A real value for money proposition in the center of Bruges. From the dishes, we tried spaghetti bolognese is a must.
If I could score a 0 I would. The blonde short haired waitress that served us was incredibly rude. The menu told us we could order a vegetarian stew and then we ordered this, the waitress rudely told us we couldn’t and the only option was an avocado burger. She made us feel so uncomfortable when we said we would only have the drinks and then leave. She advised it was a restaurant and not just for drinks. Unfortunately if their menu was correct we would have ordered! Would not recommend.
Amazing food and service! Our Segway tour guide asked them to save us a table as we rode by and they were all ready when we arrived. The food was incredible! We had sweet and sticky wings with a chicken pesto type of sandwich. Everyone was very nice and accommodating!
Came into this traditional Dutch pub to escape the rain and was massively and pleasantly surprised by the quality of atmosphere, drinks and food.
The beef stew and white sausage were stand out dishes. Even the classic burger has intense umami flavour.

This is such a great spot for dinner and drinks. We had the garlic mussels and smoked salmon salad with local beers. It was so good we came back again to try the beef stew and white fish with potatoes (also amazing). The outdoor seating was cozy and the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Great find - just saw it from the main street and. stopped off for a drink and decided to eat as well. Chicken stew was pretty good, as was the mushrooms and salad. Although it looked quiet from the outside, this place is brilliant and full of life. The interior is very well decorated and historical. Great choice of beer and very well priced. We stayed for lunch and shared a pizza which was delicious.
Normally I'd take a picture of the food when it arrived but I started eating immediately because it looked so good I couldn't wait. If we returned to Bruge we would certainly be back!

Home Sweet Home is a chocolate shop located in Bruges that has an extensive selection of chocolate products. The store is divided into two locations, one on Steenstraat and the other on Koningin Astridplein. This shop is a favorite of tourists and locals alike for its vast selection of chocolates and bonbons.
There are so many chocolate stores in Brugge and I didn’t want to buy just any chocolate. This store captured our hearts with friendly staff, clean decor, elegant packaging and reasonable prices. We went back 2nd time to buy more from this store. Recommended.

This store was highly recommended by our local tour guide. He said it was good and it’s price was lower than the Neuhaus. We have bought the milk chocolate with peanuts. Which tasted soooooo good. I thought we should buy a little more indeed. Actually they have many other products like chocolate waffles, biscuits, candies and more. The quality was also good I guess.
It doesn’t look as whimsical or fairy-tale-like as some of the other chocolate shops we’ve visited, but it has really nice products and smells amazing inside.
We genuinely liked it — there’s something cozy and authentic about the place, a sense that the focus is more on the chocolate itself than on the show.
Sometimes, simplicity and the rich scent of cocoa are all you need to feel that little spark of happiness.

We bought assortment of alcohol truffles and assortment of candies. Everything tasted good, but not great. Alcohol truffles are not fresh at all. Prices are much higher than many others in the area but I'm not sure if it was worth to pay more for those candies compare to others. Stuff was very friendly but we were the only customers in the sho.
Lovely shop with a great variety of chocolate and flavors. It's a self service system where you choose the types and amounts you want so a pretty nice system. Flavors of whiskey, baileys, etc. other than the traditional ones makes this interesting as well. Most of the staff is nice and helpful, though not all but that doesn't change the fact that the chocolate is nice. The place is located in a nice alley too.
