Belgian restaurant
De Gastro is a charming, family-owned bistro located in the heart of Bruges, offering a modern yet cozy atmosphere. The restaurant specializes in serving traditional French and Belgian cuisine, featuring delectable dishes like Coq Au Vin, Filet Mignon, and Steak Tartar. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a variety of craft beers at the nearby De Halve Maan brewery.
The fish/seafood stew was delicious and probably my favorite meal while on a 5 day trip to Belgium. It was seasoned great and had a variety of seafood in the stew. Highly recommend. Also great service and interior is pretty upscale compared to most places in the area.
Haley G — Google review
Food was delicious, in good (big) portions, and a bit on the pricey side. Had the pot of mussels and the rabbit's leg. The put of mussels was huge, and almost overflowing when served with the lid off. The rabbit's leg dish had a good sauce (not too sweet), with some small bones to deal with. Tables were reasonably distanced but we were able to hear someone's life story throughout our lunch.

Visited in Oct 2025. Dinner for two. Picked this restaurant during our trip to Bruges. We had sole meuniere and fishstew and two drinks. Both were excellent. The sole was full of favor, buttery and fresh . The fishstew was very creamy. The fish portion was generous Staff were friendly and vibe were relaxing and inviting. We had an excellent dinning experience.
Joseph L — Google review
What an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious and authentically Belgian. The portions were generous, and the fries were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had crispy, golden perfection. I had the fish stew, which was full of flavor and packed with a variety of fish, mussels, and shrimp. The cheese added such a wonderful richness to the dish. The carbonnade was equally impressive tender, savory, and perfectly balanced. Altogether, it was an amazing lunch and one I’d happily repeat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for true Belgian comfort food done right! 🇧🇪🍽️
Fadwa G — Google review
We spent 3 days in Belgium eating mussels every day, and the ones at De Gastro were by far the best I’ve ever had! I especially recommend the garlic mussels - absolutely outstanding. We also ordered Flemish beef stew (stoofvlees), and the beef was one of the best I’ve ever tasted: tender, rich, and full of flavor. The fries were perfectly crispy, just as they should be. The restaurant also offers a wonderful selection of beers and wines. The only regret I have is that we didn’t have room left for dessert 🥲 I’m sure it would have been just as excellent! Highly recommend! ♥️
Monika M — Google review
Fantastic food and staff! We had the snails and ribs, along with the goat’s cheese salad. Everything was super delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and relaxed, and you can look over to the Rozenhoedkaai which is lovely.
Laura S — Google review
The fish stew and shrimp croquettes are special and nice, love it. The steaks are quite disappointed, it’s medium rare but I am still struggling to chew it (taste also so so). It’s a full house and very busy restaurant.
SJ C — Google review
This came up on a lot of recommendations before I came to Bruges and I'm glad I got to experience it. I hadn't booked and even on a Monday they were busy but they let me know I could book for an hour's time. The croquettes were amazing (I had the mixed, 1 cheese and 1 shrimp) and the flammanade was so rich, a really generous portion with excellent fries.

Breakfast restaurant
Sanseveria Bagel Salon is a charming brunch cafe that offers a cozy and retro-inspired setting to enjoy delicious bagels. The menu features a variety of options, from savory choices like the Lucy with smoked salmon, goat cheese, arugula, and walnuts to sweet treats such as apple waffles and scones. The interior is adorned with vintage crockery and retro Flemish decor, creating a unique atmosphere for guests to savor their meals.
If you’re in the centre of Bruges, W Bagel Shop is a must-visit! The food is absolutely delicious fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a lovely vibe that makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommended!

I loved the food and the coffee (cortado with soy milk). My family who are US bagel aficionados said that bagels are better in the US. Since I can’t eat bagels in the USA because I’m gluten free there but I can eat gluten in Europe as food quality is better, I really enjoyed my bagel with peanut butter, banana and speculoos crumbles. Oh and the desserts were amazing!!! The people are super friendly and the atmosphere is charming. Definitely would come back.
Jonathan S — Google review
Delicious Bagels and they are able to offer gluten free Bagels which were delicious! Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. We ate here twice during our visit to Bruges. Would highly recommend for breakfast / lunch!
Alex M — Google review
I tried the Rudolf bagel, but it wasn’t really to my taste — the flavors didn’t quite come together for me. The place could be a bit cleaner, and I was also a bit surprised that my Rudolf bagel and an Americano came to €22, since the menu listed them for around €11 and €5. On a positive note, I really liked the soap with the scrub in the restroom — could you please tell me what brand it was?
Ліліт Л — Google review
Such a cute brunch place in Brugge ✨ They serve really good coffee and fun tea options but the star of the menu are definitely the gigantic bagels with unique flavours - I had mine with apples, honey, spicy chicken and cheese 🫶 The coffee also is really good - its worth just coming for that ☕️ Its better to book in advance if its a weekend for sure ✔️
LL L — Google review
Amazing little place to get a healthy brunch. Ideal to go with friends or family and share something unique and special. The food is absolutely delicious. The staff are so very friendly and provide great service. Wish I'd found this place sooner.

We absolutely fell in love with Sanseveria Bagelsalon in Bruges! The atmosphere is charming and the food is seriously delicious. We ordered the “James Veggie” bagel and a hot chocolate both an easy 10/10 💫
Nino T — Google review
Great Concept and Atmosphere, but the Food Falls Short The menu at this establishment is truly impressive—one of the best I’ve seen in terms of variety and creativity. It offers a well-curated selection that raises high expectations. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere had a charming vintage-meets-modern feel, making it a standout small business with a lot of character. However, the food itself didn’t quite live up to the promise. We ordered two bagels—one vegan and one with fried chicken—and while the concept was appealing, the execution was underwhelming. The bread wasn’t fresh, and the ingredients didn’t quite meet the expected quality. That said, the experience was still enjoyable overall, and I left satisfied. With a bit more attention to food quality, this place could be truly outstanding.

ONE Restaurant offers a charming setting with an outdoor terrace in Bruges, Belgium. The restaurant has a European style menu with options for lunch and dinner. Alcohol is served, and credit cards are accepted. Free wifi is available.
This is a must try! I absolutely loved every bite. The restaurant has a cozy outside seating that is perfect to dine out during a beautiful day. The service was wonderful and very inviting. The best of everything. The best applesauce, the best salad, the best fries, best cheese croquettes and that Flemish stew….to die for! 💯 recommend!!
Tera N — Google review
This place is ONE excellent dining option in Bruges. As a small family run restaurant you can tell they put an emphasis on the quality of each of the dishes they serve. The fries were absolutelty delicious and being homemade from real potatos makes them standout. Flemish stew was also delicious. It may feel pricier than other dining options in the town but not with much and for the quality it is worth it. Plus, the atmosphere in the outside garden was lovely.
Roxana P — Google review
We had a lovely experience in this hidden and charming restaurant. There are traditional Belgian dishes. Their specialty of meatballs was delicious. We sat outside on the terrace and the atmosphere was brilliant. When we visited the door of the restaurant was really stiff, we nearly thought that it was closed, you have to push it hard. We were received, I believe by the owner and she was really friendly. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
This place was our all time favorite of Belgium after 3 years of living in country. Very limited tables run by a family so a reservation is a true must. Over the years the hostess even remembered the family members i brought there. So I am writing this review so that they always have plenty of business, because we no longer need it to be a secret. The atmosphere and service were always perfect. The meals are truly wonderfully done. Not a tourist experience in the slightest, but rather representative of the Belgium we came to know and love.
Nick P — Google review
The restaurant itself looks cute and the atmosphere is great. The food is very good but the main dishes are a little “heavy”. The young waiter was super nice, but the lady waitress was a little “sassy”. My husband was in a meeting and got there late, and she said at least three times when I asked her things: “IF he comes”, which sounds odd to me since of course he would come if I reserved a table for two. Sounds to me like she was trying to say that maybe I would get ghosted, which is very funny to me. I’ve been traveling with him for years since he has meetings in different countries, and never heard that kind of stuff while waiting for service. But in general, good experience for tradicional Belgium food.
Barbara S — Google review
This restaurant is absolutely adorable, such a lovely, cozy place with a truly homely atmosphere. The lady who welcomed us (I believe she’s also the owner) was incredibly kind and attentive. We had a local dark beer she recommended and it was so good. And for food, we tried the meatballs in sauce (fantastic!) and the shrimp croquettes, which were also delicious. Everything was beautifully presented on the plate. She even kindly let us step outside to have a beer and a cigarette on the terrace, even though it was officially closed, such a nice gesture! This is by far my favorite restaurant in Brugge at the moment. Warm greetings from Croatia 💛
Iva S — Google review
The best meal I've ever had. A perfect way to celebrate my birthday.
Heather R — Google review
Lovely peaceful setting away from the crowds but still very central. Delicious food - I had the meatballs with cherry and mushroom sauce and it was great. My friend had the fish which she said was very good too. We shared the warm apple pie and Speculoos cake for dessert and both were magnificent. Very nice lady owner who served us. We sat outside in the pretty garden but I can imagine indoors would be lovely in the winter as it’s very cosy. Be sure to book in advance!!

Restaurant
Belgian Pigeon House is a charming bistro-style restaurant located in Bruges, offering a cozy and intimate dining experience. The restaurant is housed in a 13th-century mansion with a mix of antique and modern furnishings. Specializing in grilled meats and steaks, the house specialty is the grilled pigeon, but they also offer other delectable dishes such as duck rillettes, North Sea shrimps, and rabbit stewed in Bruges beer.
Brilliant little find in the back streets of the heart of Brugge, we had a delicious meal here in their unique underground cosy and intimate room. Our waiter was excellent and the door authentically Belgian, we loved the baked Camembert to start, had a delicious fillet minion, chefs muscles and lamb shanks, and ended with the delicious apple tart with ice cream, yum! Would recommend a visit.
Marty P — Google review
Went there for dinner, ordered Filet mignon medium rare, with salad and mushroom sauce. Filet mignon was overcooked - but this was the only problem. Mushroom sauce was nice and fits mignon well. Service was very nice, have a nice chat about Bruges with the waitress. Venue not cheep, but very nice.
Vadim — Google review
Excellent food and service. We had lunch here recently and had an excellent experience. We reserved a table in advance as we were a large party of 14. Everything was excellent, and we had an entire room to ourselves. The lamb shank, moules, and fillet steak were all fantastic.
Dan — Google review
We’ve stayed in Bruges for 2 days and this is easily the best food we have had! Taste like homemade food that warms the soul. The portion are quite generous, and we got to eat Pigeon Pâté for the very first time! The location which is maybe 10min from the city centre by walk gives you a nice break from the more touristy crowded streets. The service was lovely and very calm romantic ambiance. Would definitely recommend to go! 10/10!
Aurélie P — Google review
The pigeon is very delicious - tender and juicy. Great pairing with peas and onions. Would also try the rabbit or salmon. 9/10 The steak, however, is pretty much a do not order. It’s not what you expect as a typical steak - it’s dry and tough - 1/10. We ordered as medium rare and it was more like dry and overcooked. Not much of a sear as a typical American steak. Not sure what cut it was…but it was very dry and tough. We saw other diners enjoy the lamb a lot and overheard that the pork tenderloin was mediocre. Could use some extra salt/seasoning!
H L — Google review
Had an absolutely amazing meal here. The fish soup and duck starter was wonderful. The pigeon and lamb shank as our mains were delicious as well. Service is old school and the pigeon menus are great. Prices are on the pricier side but it’s well worth it.
Sonia A — Google review
Incredible duck leaver. Perfect pigeon and amazing lamb! It was unexpectedly nice experience. Thank you!
Dmitry M — Google review
Very nice restaurant with wonderful delicious food and a cozy atmosphere especially down stairs. My wife and I went there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary im May 2023 and were very pleased. And the next day we decided to visit this restaurant again for dinner. We liked it so much. We ordered pigeon (new meat for us), leg of lamb and Flemish rabbit. Everything was delicious! Service is attentive and polite. The owner of the restaurant personally approached the guests and asked if everything was fine. A very pleasant and communicative woman, as well as her husband. The owner, even at the end of our dinner, treated us to herbal liqueur o'live as a digestif. It was a pleasure. Many thanks in person! We will definitely come back to this restaurant on our next visit to Bruges and recommend this place to everyone.

Great vibe, amazing interiors and atmosphere. The kind of place you’d like to go to at the end of a work day, it’s relaxing, it’s cool, it’s a happy place. There’s a patio outside as well. I had the salad and the croquetas (not the best but good enough for unwinding at the end of the day) The outside is covered with white construction materials so it looks like it’s closed but don’t be fooled, step in and once you open the door, it is bustling inside.
Anna M — Google review
I've been coming here almost every Wednesday for a long time with a group. I recently came here with guests and the waitress seated us so that the cinema door was behind my back. I asked the second waitress if we could move and she said yes. After that, the first waitress came back and very unkindly and dissatisfiedly concluded that we shouldn't have changed seats. Ok, I get it: I'll never come here again, I won't bring guests, nor will I continue to come here on Wednesdays with my group. I won't even recommend the place. The concept of overcharging, where you determine where you can and can't sit, where you're unkind and still expecting a tip (!) is inconsiderate to me. Never assume that someone is just a tourist and that they are in your city by chance and will never be in the city again.
Silvia G — Google review
Unfortunately had quite a bad experience eating here. The atmosphere, service and decor was great upon arrival but when the food came sadly all dishes were pretty inedible. We weren’t checked up on during the meal and had to call someone over to clear uneaten dishes away. the vegetables were odd and undercooked, the toppings on the Camembert were a strange strong artificial flavour, the meat was all bland and unflavoursome, I could go on. We sensitively mentioned to the servers of the issues expecting to maybe be offered a different meal as we were all very hungry, but instead we were told that only the vegetables could be removed from the bill and then cannot offer any further discount because ‘that is what we ordered’. We left with a large bill and as we had hardly eaten, had to go to eat elsewhere. Hopefully we caught them on a bad day as other reviews are good, but An unfortunate start to our holiday!
Josie E — Google review
I heard this was a local favorite despite the mixed reviews, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, this was our least favorite meal of our trip. The service and staff were friendly and the atmosphere is nice, however they fall short on the food. Maybe we ordered wrong, but we had the steak lunch for two and I do not recommend. The steak was tough and way overcooked and the vegetables were also over cooked, the corn was inedible. The prices were high, especially because the quality did not match what we received. We should have played it safe and ordered a pasta.
Tawny M — Google review
A lovely atmosphere for a meal, the decor is great. Food is excellent. It's very busy in the evenings, but lunch is easier to get a table for.

De Bottelier is a charming and cozy restaurant located near the center of Bruges. The interior exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable booth seating and dim lighting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or a pint of Duvel. The menu offers contemporary European cuisine, featuring standout dishes like lamb tagine and salmon pasta. Run by a dedicated couple, Hilde prepares fresh food upstairs while Hans manages the tables downstairs.
Absolutely brilliant atmosphere and experience. Great food, drink and place to relax and listen to nice music and chat. Book to avoid disappointment.

We did our reservation here like a month ago and it was totally worth it. The restaurant well decorated. If you love clocks then you will afore this decoration. Our table was fully ready when we arrived. The owners are husband and wife. He was very careful with everything, very elegant service. And his lovely wife cooked us really good and well thought dishes. Every taste in the meals are very balanced. They have daily menu with three options. You can choose whatever you want with no doubt! Thank you!

Incredible decor, we certainly enjoyed our time here ;-) great views out to the canal, too. The husband is the sole waiter, wife is chef; and they use a little elevator to send orders and food to each other. Quite cute! I really enjoyed the baked cheese starter and the salmon in blue cheese sauce. You can’t be in a rush here, since it’s just the husband servicing all the tables. We were served pretty quickly but we got our order in early. So come here to relax when you have plenty of time!

We had a lovely evening. Food was brilliant & the place is very unique. Had the "royal box" table which is situated with views of the river & bridge. Sadly it's no longer a restaurant now, it's been turned in to a cafe/antique shop but still worth a visit for a coffee.

We discovered a jewel in Bruges... a husband and wife team run this quirky little restaurant, decorated with 1000s of alarm clocks in birdcages amongst many other treasures, a magical trove of antique collectors' objects for sale amidst the delicious homemade food. Booking is obligatory; it's very popular.

Magic place where you would love to stay as long as possible! Great cosy atmosphere (many decor details are worth looking at the whole evening), very welcoming and attentive host as well as original and tasty cuisine at very fair price. Just perfect! PS Make sure to book in advance (at least couple of days) as it tends to be all booked if you decide just to come by spontaneously ;)
Ilya K — Google review
Hands down the best food and experience I’ve had dinning. Hans and Hilde are a power couple serving up some seriously great food and service. Hilde is upstairs making the food fresh as Hans in downstairs manning the tables. Your food even comes down a little elevator from upstairs! Being just the two of them, you do need to come prepared for a evening full of conversation and socializing. This is not your fast food joint. But believe me, the wait is very very much worth it!!! Highly recommended and would come back each night if I could. Be sure to reserve well in advance as seating is limited.

An absolute gem and THE place you need to eat if you're heading to Bruges. We booked here for the 5 course taster for our 10th anniversary celebrations. We've done a lot of tasting menus over the years and this by far our favourite. The service was beyond amazing, the wine was perfectly matched, and the food was delicious. I think I witnessed my husband finding a new plane of existence when eating the scallops. They were kind enough to bring some complimentary appetisers before the first course, and sweet treats with our coffees too. It was all so well thought out, really well paced and just all-round amazing! If you're debating which restaurant to head to for a tasting menu, this is one not to miss.

This was a very nice discovery! The Chef and his wife are very lovely people! The food was perfect, nice flavor combinations, nice plating and a great price. The wine list for my personally could entail a bit more burgundy but that's just my personal preference. We will be back for sure for the evening menu.

Michelin Guide. Generally good and recommended in Brugges. Service can be improved. Waiter wasn't attentive and called us a few times to confirm (a little excessive)

We enjoyed an excellent dinner here! Each dish was very good, both desserts were amazing. Friendly staff. Only negative for me was the cappuccino wish was pretty mediocre. We will be back next time we visit Bruges. Highly recommended.

Don't know if it's a hidden gem but it's definitely a gem in Bruges. We had a fantastic culinary experience. Every course was better than the last which seemed almost impossible. The service was fantastic. I can't think of anything I would change. Cozy atmosphere, small and quaint. Highly recommend it if you happen to be in the area.

The best restaurant we went to on our trip to Brussels and Bruges. The food was excellent and the lunch was great value for money too.

Kottee Kaffee is a charming coffee house located on Ezelstraat, a street known for its tasteful boutiques. The cafe offers a menu reminiscent of Le Pain Quotidien but with an independent twist, featuring an array of bread, cheeses, charcuterie, and brunch options. The trendy interior boasts designer furniture and a long reading table, creating a relaxed atmosphere where locals enjoy flat whites, special teas, and healthy brunches.
Excellent place for breakfast/brunch/lunch! A friend and I walked in without reading reviews beforehand, and boy were we pleasantly surprised! Staff are very friendly, and immediately knew we needed the menu in English. She explained the different waffles available and let us choose. The coffee is good (not as weak as some others in Bruges). It comes with a homemade cookie which was stunning! The waffles have a crusty exterior and chewy interior. Better than some places but I know it will not suit everyone's tastes. Can't please everyone! I bought scones to takeaway and they were EXCELLENT. Crusty on the outside but moist and crumbly on the inside. It came with lemon curd, berry jam, and clotted cream. Very legitimate! The lemon curd was amazing! I licked it up.

We really enjoyed our breakfast. The mixtures of flavor were perfection. Not only does the food taste good but it is eye appealing. My wife ordered a soup; I tried it and liked it, even though I don’t normally like soups!! I would have given this place a perfect score, but they didn’t have eggs and we were there at 11 am, well before closing time. If they had a protein option, even a non meat option, I would have been happy.

This place is great for breakfast or lunch, and is always guaranteed to be excellent! We love Brugge, try to return annually and Kottee Kaffee is one of the places that make the beautiful city so special. The owner is always pleasant, very helpful and friendly and calmly deals with the many customers who frequent her popular venue. The soups, sandwiches (made with great bread) and cakes are delicious. The ingredients used are obviously fresh and of good quality. A variety of teas are on offer, great coffee (decaffeinated too!) and non-dairy milks. I can recommend without qualification!

Kotteee Coffee & Breakfast is a lovely, calm spot for a perfect morning in Bruges. The breakfast is delicious and varied, and the coffee is excellent—especially the latte and cappuccino. Bright, cozy atmosphere with friendly service and fair prices. Highly recommended for coffee and breakfast lovers 🌿☕✨

If there would be a word better than Wonderful, I'd use it. This place is immaculate, in every aspect. Location: it's close by the windmills north of the city, you can have a nice beautiful walk back to town through there. Ambiance: there's a feel of a diner in the country side, yet a great sense of elegance to the place. You can feel ot even in the restrooms. Staff: the people who work there speak English and very helpful, they jave English menu too. The lady who cared for our order was so nice and friendly, even changed a few things in the brunch offer they have to accommodate us. Finally and most importantly - Food: Everything, and i mean everyone. Is either home-made or from a farm fresh (cheese, butter, breads jams) different type of fresh baked bread that that is so light and flavorful. Just perfect! For coffee drinks too, this place has it all. The kitchen is in the middle, you see and feel the experience of how your food is made. I would definitely go there a million more times if i lived in Bruges. Thank you for a delicious unforgettable experience.

Visit there twice during our visit. Highly recommend this place especially we're tired with expensive and below average tourist restaurants. We had such an amazing time tasting all the bread and bake goodies. We tried savory and sweet breakfast, everything are selected and made with high quality and it is the quality your pallets can tell right the way. This place is the oasis of Bruges.
Serene H — Google review
WOW!!! Such an amazing breakfast! The coffee drinks and chai are delicious, there is such a large selection of beverages it was hard to decide. The food was fabulous and the homemade bread with local farm butter was some of the best I've had. Also, very friendly service. Highly recommend!
Lauren D — Google review
Best breakfast we had in Bruges, and one of the best breakfasts we had in Europe. The proprietors make everything homemade, including the bread and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The husband is very friendly and likes to joke around with customers, and speaks English perfectly, in addition to French and Dutch. After eating here the first time, we made a reservation to come back again, and we're glad we did! I recommend the hot chocolate (be sure to ask for it dark).

Restaurant

Frituur
FritBar in Bruges is a must-visit for those craving the best Belgian fries. Despite its small size, it's worth finding a seat to indulge in their huge portions of delicious fries. The loaded fries and house burger are highly recommended, although some found the cheese overload to be too much. The staff is generally friendly and accommodating, providing swift service with a touch of humor. The fish and chips come in generous portions and are served creatively, making for a satisfying meal.
We had such a great experience at Fritbar. one of those places that truly lives up to its reputation! From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind, greeting everyone with a smile and keeping that positive energy going even though the restaurant was completely packed. You could tell they were super busy, but they handled the rush with amazing efficiency and genuine enthusiasm. It’s rare to see a team work so smoothly together while staying cheerful the whole time! The place itself has a modern and cozy vibe with hanging lights, wooden tables, and a casual setup that makes it perfect for both locals and travelers. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but thanks to how well-organized the team was, everything moved quickly. Tables rotated efficiently, and we didn’t have to wait long at all before enjoying our meal. Now, the highlight! the fries. Oh my goodness, they were unforgettable! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and topped with generous layers of fresh ingredients. We tried two versions: one loaded with crispy bacon, onions, and herbs, and another with rich pork stew sauce and mayo. Both were heavenly. We paired them with a couple of Brugse Zot beers, a local favorite, which made the meal even better. Even after leaving, I couldn’t stop thinking about those fries, they were that good. If you’re in Bruges, don’t miss Fritbar. It’s not just about the food; it’s the whole experience, friendly staff, delicious dishes, and a lively, happy atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again.

Extremely popular place. We entered at 1pm and sat down immediately, but a large queue formed after us. I had the regular fries and they were extremely oily. I had a spicy mayo sauce, which was nice. The burger was good apparently. Large portion size. Kind servers and fast.
Charlotte H — Google review
I had the best burger for the last 10 years of my life. It was light and tasty. Bacon was super soft. Was melting in my mouth. Unbelievably good. Chicken wings were phenomenal. Seriously. I am shocked. Also fries are nice. Not soggy nor greasy. If you are reading this, don’t hesitate a second. You won’t regret anything.

Our evening at Fritbar in Bruges became truly unforgettable thanks to Mr. Joseph. His energy, charm, and genuine passion for hospitality transformed a simple dinner into a whole experience. He recommended the most delicious dishes on the menu, guided us through the beer list like a true sommelier, and even turned the process of pouring beer into a full performance — elegant, precise, and so impressive that we couldn’t stop smiling. Mr. Joseph didn’t just serve us — he created a memory. And that is the highest level of service. Highly recommended!
Viktoriia M — Google review
There were queues outside for this place which is a great sign. We were looking for a place which made fries cooked in vegetable oil and this was the only place we could find. Most places in Belgium cook their chips/fries in beef fat and being vegetarian that was a no go for me. The loaded fries are definitely worth the wait here and I went for the veggie chilli loaded fries. My reason for giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is purely down to the service. The portion sizes were huge and my daughter and I wanted to share the fries. I asked for the truffle mayo to be served on the side instead of on top as my daughter doesn’t like mayo. The response I got was ‘no we can’t do that as it will confuse the staff if there are too many changes’. You either have it, don’t have it or order it as a separate side’. That was it - no flexibility to put the mayo on the side. For me that wasn’t so much the issue but it was the tone and manner in which the response was delivered. Given the queues outside this place and the good food I guess even if service is below standard, they aren’t bothered as they have the numbers coming through the door. Go there for the food but don’t expect much on the service side.
Neha G — Google review
Local Belgian fries alert! There is a long queue in front of the place and you may need to wait. I liked the options with different sauces. Sweet potato fries were absolutely my favorite. Service was great and the staff were welcoming.
Lebriz E — Google review
The best Belgium fries I’ve had by far. The burgers a mouthwatering couldn’t have enough I over ate. The portions are huge and the prices are very affordable
Joey A — Google review
While the aesthetic does give off overpriced burger place, the food itself is not only quite good but also fairly priced. The service is functional if a bit impersonal, and the burger I had was probably the messiest burger I've had in a while (it was still absolutely delicious). I do generally recommend this place to anyone craving a simple burger or some loaded fries.

This charming eatery boasts a menu that frequently changes, focusing on hearty comfort food with standout dishes like their delightful pot-au-feu and traditional beef stew known as rundstoofvlees. The food is amazing!!!!!! I really love the pork belly! Amazed by the carrot puree and curry! Very good taste and balance of flavours! Love it

Delicious food and so tough to pick something from the menu. The mussels, meatball dish and stew were so good. Service was friendly, helpful and quick. Great beer too!

I do not usually write a lot of reviews, but I had to. We are travelling through Europe from Egypt, and this is by far the best food experience we have had so far. The food portions were huge, so consider sharing. The food was really special; one of the rare times I find something that is really exceptional. I recommend the Lamb Fillet in particular. Other than the food, the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The place is a little small so expect some wait time at the bar (which was also pleasant). Overall an amazing experience. Highly recommend if you find yourself in Brugges.

We ate here with no prior knowledge we just wanted to rest a bit and sat down. It turned out to be a really nice restaurant. Our table was outside. We ordered mussels and beer. It was big enough for us to share . It comes with crispy potato fries, mussel sauce and mayo for the fries. Everything was great. Mussels were tasty, fries were crispy and light. Prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent.

Ate ate the bar and enjoyed venison stew, veal tongue and fried chicken. I search for restaurants like this, unpretentious, cuisine and sauces of superb quality. A real meal by a chef that has a special palate and skilled at executing each dish as though you’re seated in their home kitchen
Ciara F — Google review
Very cozy place, no reservations, you can just walk in. When they are full they allow you to drink something at the bar which is also very nice and adds a lot to the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a cozy local restaurant this is the place to be! Friendly staff, local dishes and very reasonable prices.

Great restaurant close to the city center where they serve great home style dishes. They have a nice selection of draft beers with seating both inside and outside. Their beef stew and lamb mince were really great!

Go.fre | Belgian Waffles on a Stick is a popular independent shop located off the main square, offering a unique twist on traditional Belgian waffles. The shop provides freshly made waffles on sticks with various creative toppings and coatings, allowing customers to customize their sweet treats. Additionally, they offer hot chocolates to complement the waffle experience. Visitors praise the friendly staff and recommend trying the delicious waffle sticks dipped in chocolate with toppings like coconut or hazelnut.
Our Stick Waffle experience was amazing! While wandering through the historic streets of Bruges, we stumbled upon this sweet little spot, and it exceeded all our expectations both visually and in terms of taste. The waffles were perfectly crispy, topped with carefully selected chocolate and toppings, creating an unforgettable flavor. The fact that they were served warm and beautifully presented deserves extra praise. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Belgium!

Delicious freshly made hot waffles with melted Belgian chocolate and a choice of a topping. What more could you want! We tried waffles from other shops and these were our fave. 5.50 Euro each.
Hannah O — Google review
Slight variation of the Belgian waffle by putting it on a stick. Made fresh and you have the choice of what type of chocolate-milk, white or dark covered and your choice from several toppings. Cost is 5.50 euro. Depending on time of day, there can be a line but moves quickly. Not a bad alternative to the traditional waffle options.
Jeff — Google review
The service was amazing, can I know your name Louise was so nice and friendly, once you enter to the shop she smiles at you . And the waffles are amazing as well, you can choose your toppings and the type of chocolate, plus they was an option for lactose free and gluten free that for me was a must due to you don’t find that everywhere

Unique take on the Belgian waffle. Good selection of toppings and it's nice to be able to see them make your waffle in front of you. It was just missing a little fork/spoon to be able to eat the toppings etc that fall off the waffle.

BEST HOT CHOCOLATE!! Would highly recommend the dark chocolate, it is not too sweet. We tried the milk chocolate, it is delicious too if you have a major sweet tooth. Came here twice in two days, wouldn’t go anywhere else. €3, can’t beat it

Flemish Stew House is a popular spot to savor the traditional Flemish stew, often made with local beer. Despite its few ratings and quiet ambiance, this eatery near the city center offers impressive value for money, serving up generous portions of stew, fries, salad, sauce, and a drink at an affordable price. While the service may not be top-notch and the menu might cater more to tourists, visitors can expect a quick and tasty dining experience.
I was pretty skeptical since this place had so few ratings, and was basically empty, but I was really quite impressed. For 10€, we got a good sided portion odstew, fries, salad and a sauce, and a drink. Considering the location so close to the city center, it was good food for a great price.

We got there just before closing. The food was pretty good. The staff weren't rude or anything but definitely could've smiled more :-)
Chrishan R — Google review
You typical "snackbar" to get your "frietjes" with mayonaise. Not the real handmade Fries you will get at a real "frietkot" but good enough. Dont expect a culunairy experiance but great for a cheap lunch
Stijn K — Google review
Awful. Avoid Plastic plates, cutlery, deep fried pre cooked. Not very pleasant at all. Food drenched in a sauce if your choice. You’ve been warned.
Neil C — Google review
It’s a snack bar and has many options. The prices are ok. I tried only the waffle there and it was very good.
Jayashrita D — Google review
Acceptable for being in Brugge Belgian stew with fries and drink for € 10. Not bad value for money. If it is was located in another Belgian city, I would see it as bad option. However, due to the high prices in Brugge we decided to go there. We have heard about more expensive restaurants in the area, but with similar quality. At least, this is a not expensive restaurant.
Isabel R — Google review
Don't come here!!! They will sell you 3 tiny pieces of meat and bunch of fries for 12 euros! They are so shameless, when I asked for more meat they said I need to pay extra 6 euros! What you get is not what you see in the picture! I wish they will be strangled with my money and go to hell! Be careful, This city is full of frauds and cons like here!
אופיר ב — Google review
Just go for the stew, traditionally made with local beer. Its cheap, quick and tasty. Ignore the rest of menu, it's just there to make the most of the tourist trap. Don't expect world class service, just good stew.
