We last visited Café Giang back in 2022, and today’s return confirmed two things. Hanoi’s Old Quarter remains endlessly charming, and this egg coffee is still a heavyweight contender for richest beverage on Earth. The cafe sits in its usual tucked-away corner, all atmosphere and nostalgia. Unfortunately, so does everyone else in Hanoi. The place was absolutely packed, and within minutes we found myself wondering whether the queue was actually part of the experience. The egg coffee arrived looking beautiful, silky, and deceptively innocent. One sip in, and it was exactly as I remembered, delicious in theory, dangerously indulgent in practice. It’s the kind of drink that whispers, “Go on, you’ll be fine,” while simultaneously settling in your stomach like it’s signing a long-term lease. To be fair, it is a classic. But by the time I finished, I was equal parts impressed and mildly concerned for my stomach Worth trying once, worth revisiting if you enjoy culinary brinkmanship. As for me, I’m giving it three stars, part admiration, part survival.

We ordered their famous egg coffee. Vietnam is known for its coffee, but I can honestly say that Giang Café serves the best one I had in Hanoi. We visited an excellent café where we tried the famous Vietnamese egg coffee as well as their traditional Vietnamese coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. You can immediately tell the place is highly recommended—there were lots of locals and tourists enjoying their drinks. The flavors were rich and unique, and I personally loved both coffees. Despite how crowded it was, the service was impressively fast and very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely a spot worth visiting if you want to taste authentic Vietnamese coffee.

Good coffee known as the home of the egg coffee. The place however was extremely packed. We had no wait but it was like sardines in the place. Also IMO it is a famous internet spot but we had better egg coffee at other places but this one was the thicknest of them all but I felt not the best. Having said that better than any coffee I have ever had in the entire USA.

They serve also other types of coffee if you like but I highly suggest to order their egg coffee.

This was probably our favorite cafe on our trip to Hanoi food wise. We originally checked out this place because of how many times we heard online that this was the spot with the tastiest egg coffee, which they were not over hyping at all. This place felt slightly hidden since from the street we couldn't see any Loading T cafe signage so we entered a building that looked the most similar to the google photos which required us to climb up some stairs and enter the building before seeing anything indicating this was indeed Loading T cafe. The cafe had a chill vibe that felt like stepping into another time. The staff were very kind and welcoming, after taking our order they gave us complimentary water and tea. And I will confirm yet again the iced egg coffee was soooo good. Walked in for a taste and couldn't leave without buying another one as well as their cacao egg cream. These drinks were truly delicious we ordered them for takeaway and just couldn't help but stay a while longer enjoying the atmosphere while savoring the drinks. We also greatly appreciated how when ordering the egg coffees they give you a paper that explains the best way to experience drinking the egg coffee so that it taste the best. It's also important to know that when drinking the regular egg coffee or the cacao egg cream they are meant to be drunk in different ways which we discovered by having one of the servers so kindly correct us on how to appropriately drink the cacao egg cream. 10/10 very much worth the hype!!

A lovely tucked away haven in the middle of Hanoi. The building is a reclaimed old colonial structure, with no visible signs outside of the cafe’s whereabouts. It feels like a “if you know, you know” kind of find. After weeks in Vietnam and dozens of egg coffees, I can firmly say this place does it best. The egg cream is also so marshmallow like in texture and flavour with subtle cinnamon to add depth. The servers are always so gracious and kind. There’s just a beautiful atmosphere. I’ve been here every morning for almost a week and I’m still blown away every time!

It's located near the Michelin guide Pho. It's kinda hidden in an old building, you have to follow the stairs to reach the cafe. It's kinda homey inside, not too many tables but full of people. Ordered 3 coffees, the Iced Egg Coffee, Yogurt Coffee and Coconut Coffee. The Coconut Coffee is blended, very good in a hot weather. Forgot to take a picture of the Iced Egg Coffee because it's done in like 5 minutes 😂 Overall it's a good coffee. But do bear in mind they're a bit crowded and it's not a lot of table available, so it's not a place to sit around for a long time.

Look through a rusty gate, go left up a crumbling stone staircase, then at the top, chose to sit left or right, as straight ahead is another shop. The atmosphere is an eclectic collection of furnishings with a hippie feel. We had the egg coffee and the black coffee. And although we've had better, we appreciated the totality of the experience.

What a great and unusual place to visit. We loved this cafe with it's quirky gimmick. Order your drinks, climb the winding staircase, find a table on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor, the waiter will find you! Then grab a note from one of the many baskets, and start writing away. Peel the back off, and stick your thoughts, memories, tributes to the wall. The drinks were great and my red velvet cake hit the mark. The atmosphere was tremendous and the location is simply amazing. The window views stretch over the busy roads to the expansive lake. What a spot.

A unique and memorable coffee shop! I talked with one of the staff members and she told me that this place has existed for only 13 years — but judging by the amount of notes on the walls, it feels like it’s been here for 50! The notes come from people all around the world, which makes the atmosphere truly amazing in my opinion. Cool place to sip a coffee beside the hoan kiem lake. This place is unique for its sticky notes all over the cafe. Tried the coconut coffee which is their best seller. It was just good not extraordinary 7/10 for taste. Egg coffee and egg cocoa were excellent.

This place was so great when we visited Hanoi, from the guy outside shouting ‘fresh coffee, fruit juice’ to the decor this place is amazing. I had the mint frappe and my partner had the iced coffee and it’s safe to save we returned at least 3 - 4 times during our stop in Hanoi and would recommend it to anyone. There is about 4/5 floors and I would definitely say it’s worth going up to explore.

The Note Coffee in Hanoi wasn’t exactly about the egg coffee for me — honestly, it didn’t feel like the real deal (and I didn’t even get to take a photo of it). But what stood out was the vibe of the place. There’s something beautifully nostalgic about being surrounded by colorful notes from people all over the world — little stories, confessions, and wishes scribbled on bits of paper. It reminded me of old times, of serendipity, and of how connected strangers can feel through simple words left behind. A cozy stop for the heart, more than the palate.

Small egg coffee shop with lots of range located in the heart of Hanoi. The iced egg coffee was good. The egg portion has good flavour and texture. The consistency was a little runny but nothing to be upset about. A straw would have been helpful. The coffee portion was a little bitter but again, nothing to hate for. Overall, good coffee, good price, about 50K. The staff were very friendly and attentive. First customers of the day and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The shop does have a mould smell and it is cooled by fans primarily. Nothing unusual for smaller Vietnamese shops. Worth a try if you’re close by.

Went here for the famous egg coffee! I'd heard about it but never tried it, being an egg and coffee lover and to see the two combined, fascinated me, and I can whole heartedly say! Yes it definitely works!! I had the rum egg coffee, and it kicked a punch, it was delicious creamy and rum strong, 😋 I'll definitely be looking out for similar cafés to try other flavours, as for Hanoi egg coffee cafe, it's a decent place, staff speak good English are very friendly and definitely serve a great egg coffee

One of my fav place for a real Vietnamese coffee (20k VND) and experience. Right in the middle of a really busy crossroad. Always full with locals. It's nice to go there between late afternoon and early evening when the ambiance changes from day to night.

They open pretty early so we were able to get the coffee before 7am because of our bus. Not the best coffee but warm enough and reasonable price. Thank you!

Best bar on this street! Hiding on the second floor bar with a great view that keep you turned into the party but at the same time a bit aside of it, giving the comfort and amazing view. Pho Cocktail is marked as must try and it really is! Perfect show of the cocktail making and trying it at all 3 different stages makes it unique not only for this street, but for the experience in general. Perfect place!

Amazing bar just off the busy beer corner. It's like a speakeasy. You go up some crooked stairs and then it's a beautiful two level bar and a balcony. We sat on the balcony and watched the people walk by which is lovely. It's also a nice spot if you want to get away from the chaos of the street below for a bit. Lovely decor and music. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend a visit.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS AND VIOLENTS! I entered this bar in the evening, at the end of the evening the barmaid brought me a bill of more or less 170 euros! The great thing is that I have never ordered anything! Lovely little bar! We went into this lovely little bar so that we could sit on the lantern lit balcony over looking the street. Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely both inside and out! Easy to miss this one in the crazy surroundings of the backpacker vibe at street level but worth the effort. With the quaint staircase and small doorway I would describe the effect as speakeasy like if it was not for the man on the street trying to advertise it! Love :)

This bar was by far one of my favourite little gems in the city. The circus theme and dark interior gives it a fantastic atmosphere. Very hip. The drink selection was fantastic at reasonable prices. Best egg coffee!

Do not go here. This place charged me and my husband 8 times. 5 using both our credit cards, 2 using our debits, and one with cash. They said that it didn’t went through when we literally showed them all the receipts. They keep on saying it still says “Processing” on the app but that’s how all of our credit cards work and after the store claimed the payment, it would go through. Even when I showed them the transactions from my debit and my husband’s business debit, they denied the payment. I do not recommend going here. Edit: Like I mentioned, they charged our debits too and won’t acknowledge the fact that it’s already been deducted from our accounts. (We showed them the transaction history) And now that we’re leaving Vietnam, they’re not responding anymore. It isn’t the $20 they charged us 8 times, it’s the fact that they don’t even see the weight of this matter because what if it isn’t just $20?

Finding the place was a bit tricky as it’s located inside a shop—you have to walk through it to reach the café. The entrance is narrow, and you need to climb steep steps to get to the seating area, which is in an older building. Once you’re up there, the view of the city is quite nice, especially for tourists. We did face some confusion while placing the order, which was a bit frustrating. The overall experience was just okay. I wasn’t entirely happy, especially compared to visits with family elsewhere. The coffee, including their signature egg coffee, was standard, but not quite like the one I had at MET.

Nice cafe nestled in the back of a store. It's a thing about the old quarter here in Hanoi, it seems there are establishments hidden down tiny alleys and at the back of shops. Place looks like a done up version of an actual dwelling. Decor and format looks very similar to that in Peranakan culture, probably reflecting the heavy Chinese influence in Vietnamese culture. While ground and 2nd and 3rd floor seating is available, this cafe relies heavily on the roof view of Hoan Kien Lake for it's appeal, and this was not lost upon me. Counter staff quickly escaped however, after seeing me, causing me to be unable to leave my luggage at the counter. Had to lug it up 3-4 stories to the roof. Very narrow steps, so it was awkward to lug my luggage up the stairs. Would have the liked if the staff were more helpful. On the roof, two women who appeared to be cafe staff also hogged the lake view and refused to move. Granted, it was late in the day. Drinks were nice but pricey for Vietnam. With all that said, had a nice time in this cafe, though improvements could have been made.

Very quaint and looks like a repurposed house maybe with lots of greenery to sit and relax especially on the middle level. Top floor had a great view of the lake! Ordered yoghurt w mango & avo (never had this combo before) and was very refreshing. Yoghurt wasn’t too sweet (sometimes yoghurt here is way too sweet especially w fresh fruit). AMAZING hidden gem. This place is nestled at the back of a sewing shop up a set of stairs. There are a few levels bf each is decorated beautifully with art and plants and antiques. If you go the top you get a fantastic view of the lake and over the city. It was so great we went twice in the 2 days we were in the city. Their salt and coconut coffee are amazing. It is a must see if you want a quaint quiet spot in Hanoi. Very reasonable prices for coffees too! Highly recommend!

We visited here twice while in Hanoi. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty. We had egg coffee hot, salt coffee hot and iced and coconut coffee iced and blended. All of the coffee was strong and full bodied. My favourite was the coconut coffee blended. The venues dining area is set over 3 floors with so many small different areas to sit which makes atmosphere was fantastic. All of the furniture and Decor is made of repurposed and recycled items and is so clever.

A true hidden gem in Hanoi’s Old Quarter! You walk through a narrow hallway, head upstairs, and suddenly you’re in this super picturesque coffee shop. The vibe is cozy, unique, and perfect for taking photos — our group definitely took a lot! They also have a small shop inside selling bags and cute souvenirs, which was a nice touch. The coffees were amazing — we ordered the salted coffee, egg coffee, and blended chocolate ice, and all of them were delicious. The only miss was the pineapple juice; it tasted like canned Dole juice with extra sugar, so I wouldn’t recommend that one. Overall, we’d 100% come back here if we’re in Hanoi again. Great drinks, great decor, and such a charming hidden spot! Staff were also very helpful and recommended us which drinks were better served hot/cold. And it didn’t took them long to bring our drinks upstairs!

Found this place on TikTok and it turned out to be the best discovery! The food was delicious — I had a vegan Banh My, vegan spring rolls, an egg coffee, and a lime & butterfly pea flower juice for a really reasonable price. I ended up spending a lot of time here — it’s perfect whether you just want a quick lunch or a cozy spot to hang out. The service was amazing, everyone was so kind, and Sindy and Quan were the sweetest! 💗 Highly recommend this place

I visited Hidden Gem Cafe in Hanoi as part of a food tour and it was such a great experience. I tried the Vietnamese spring rolls, summer rolls, banh mi, and vegan rice noodles, and everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. The coconut coffee tasted more like a milkshake and was surprisingly good, even though I don’t normally drink coffee. What makes this place extra special is that it is built almost entirely from recycled materials, which is really cool. The atmosphere, food, and value make it a spot I highly recommend.

Cool, Hipster, eclectic cafe store which is much much bigger on the inside then in first look of the small entrance. The place is full with unique furniture that seems like they were made from recycling materials. like shoes as a pot for plants and lighting cover made of water bottle. As for the food they have some vegan option which is nice. I've ordered a vegan banana & chocolate smoothie that was just ok.. the presentation look kinda sloppy and it was messy on the sides, and taste wise it felt more like a banana milk then a smoothie. I guess people mostly visit the place for the cool atmosphere and chic decoration.

Came here for our first meal in Hanoi and the Hidden Gem Cafe did not disappoint! Their chicken banh mi and pork banh mi were both delicious. Their mango smoothie was great as well. Loved the overall aesthetic of the cafe. Hope to visit again next time!

Definitely lives up to its name. We were delighted to see how the owners decorated the place with recycled materials. It is just endless joy looking at everything and be amazed by what we saw. Food is great. We order the sampler of everything Vietnam. Wish there were more variety on their menu.

The coffee was great, we had an Americano and a pour over, the roast is medium, which is darker than what I’d like, but it was well done, you could still perceive the coffee’s attributes.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by reception and our butler, Mikey. Our room—upgraded upon arrival—was not yet ready, so we were offered champagne while Mikey entertained us and shared excellent recommendations for the area. He also gave us a private tour of the Path to History and bomb shelter, since we were only staying one night and couldn’t join the full hotel tour. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive. The hotel was spotless and perfectly located. The breakfast spread was incredible. If you’re looking for a personalized, luxury stay, look no further. My only regret is not being able to stay longer.

Me and my husband stayed in this hotel for my birthday. We were so lucky to get upgraded to the executive floor. I could tell that all staffs in this hotel were excellent and so sincere. I would like to thanks for Asst FO Manager, Dao and the female customer relation officer who helped us for checking in. Also the young staff from Le Club, Tuan. He was to helpful! Of coz all other girls as well. They all so pleasant. We enjoyed so much here for a night and sure this was one of our best memories.

Great hotel and the history behind it. The courtyard is nice providing outdoor spaces. Pool is rather small. Rooms and wardrobe are generally smaller than others but comfortable. Breakfast is great but during the stay, there are a lot of tour group staying which can be hectic in the morning and at the lifts.

Best hotel I have stayed in worldwide. From the moment we stepped out of our car the service was personal and thoughtful. Concierge gave us a private tour of the bunker below the hotel even though the tours for the day were full. We were also upgraded to a suite at no charge since we were only staying one night. One of the oldest and most consequential hotel in Asia, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is the only hotel in Vietnam to have its own bunker, constructed during the war to protect the hundreds dignitaries it has hosted since 1901; from Fidel Castro, Trump, and Kim Jong Un, to Charlie Chaplin and “Nick Fury”, its “who’s who” list stretches miles. Today, this living museum continues to deliver the highest level of hospitality. Every staff we encountered strikes that perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. Despite us arriving late at night, our check in and welcome experience went wayyyyy beyond expectations. The only downside to the Metropole is its compact design. Despite the tasteful interior, due to its heritage and historic architecture, spaces are stuffy when compared to modern luxury hotels. But, isn’t it the excitement of living in history?

This place was outstanding. The egg coffee was beyond delicious and we also had an avocado and mango dessert that was insanely good! Besides the high quality drinks and coffee, I'd love to mention that the view is lovely and it's not a highly touristic place, so we had the opportunity tu enjoy the place around 11am.

Me and my partner were recommended to come visit this place. We found it a bit hard to locate as it was down a little alleyway which looked a bit sketchy but as soon as you walked down i recognised the terrace as shown in the picture attached. We had to order what we wanted down stairs and pay for the egg coffee we ordered. We then had to find seating ourselves. We went up a few flights of stairs until we finally found some free chairs in the upper level. About 10mins after ordering they delivered my egg coffee. I was unable to finish my coffee as it was very heavy on the stomach. It was delicious, however it felt almost too thick and creamy. All in all, it’s a beautiful place to sit and relax and enjoy the views.

Fantastic egg coffee, one of the best I tried in Hanoi. I cannot say the same for the food, the multi grain slices were dry and tasted old, the toast slices were too dry and the eggs too cooked. The staff is nice and very well trained, and the space is big and lovely. For sure a nice space where to work a little while enjoying your coffee.

Service is similar to what coffee shops would offer , but everything is overpriced. We had two eggs coffee, one ice americano and one flat white for 320k++ dong. Egg coffee tasted very weird because they added honey I think. Definitely not worth paying 80k dong per coffee on average.

This is a beautiful café. We ordered an egg coffee, a black tea with salt foam, and the coconut egg coffee; everything was excellent. For food, we had the French fries, a croque madame, the mushroom sandwich, and the banana cake with chocolate; it was all good. The staff are kind and very attentive.

A Well known café chain, obviously popular with the locals. Good range of both beverages and good options It's not particularly cheap but worth a go. The interior (downstairs )and lighting remind me of those diners back in the 60s. In full-on Hanoi, a city not known for peace and quiet, Tranquil Books & Coffee lives up to its name - offering an oasis of calm, fine music and great coffee in a cosy, inviting atmosphere. So quietly sophisticated is this urban retreat one feels like it could be in the Left Bank in Paris. There is a limited, but well-chosen menu, plus a wine and beer fridge stocked with fine IPA craft ales and crisp chardonnays and rieslings. The staff are all unfailingly helpful and courteous. So when you are feeling burnt out and frazzled from the urban noise and madness of the Old Quarter, I recommend a measured retreat to the Tranquil. They have four branches across Hanoi.

I’ve been here many times. This is absolutely my go-to spot whenever I want to work outside. I love their matcha latte most. Atmospheric cafe with a spacious second floor. Love how they didn’t put it full with tables, but kept the space open. Really makes it more enjoyable and less rowdy. Pandan milk tea was ok. Prices bit higher compared to some other cafes.

Good place to have tea or coffee opposite the Church. Downside is they don’t have real cinnamon being a world chain. They use Cassia which is smell and flavor like cinnamon but gives right opposite of health benefits. In fact it harms your body. Specially liver. Also research found out that it cause liver cancer as well. So no matter the taste of you are not using real ingredients I can’t give a honest review. Also when I ask them to show me the cinnamon they use they were reluctant to show me as if they also know what they are doing is wrong. Anyway you can have anything else except cinnamon tea I guess.

Don’t be fooled by the small facade, behind the humble front of the house is a spacious, beautifully preserved old Hanoi-style house that feels like stepping back in history. Their coffee beans are pure magic, they give you that euphoric lift without the jitters, and there’s no crash afterward. Just don’t rush it,let the coffee sit for a bit and really feel its depth. I’m absolutely in love with the charm of this place , the people, the atmosphere, and especially their coffee. Visit at different times of day or on different days of the week, and you’ll feel the unique rhythm of local life. Around 9 AM, it’s often a full house with lively chatter, laughter, and big family gatherings. In the afternoon, the cafe quiets down, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the peaceful vibe. Weekends tend to be busier, but every moment here has its own beauty. It doesn’t get more Hanoi than this, and it all comes with a really good cup of coffee.

It gets a bit loud and crowded during lunchtime, but otherwise, it’s peaceful and serene. The coffee is on the pricier side, but it’s worth it if you’re seeking a chill and quiet spot to work.

Went there to do some business and have an interview. Initially, the atmosphere and coffee selection were quite impressive but somewhat expensive. The coffee taste was nice. I needed somewhere quiet for my interview and was informed its fine to use the other room just dont bring my drink. As I was about to enter to do my interview, another staff member stopped me and said its not allowed only for special events. This almost ruined my entire experience. Sorry but if your staff said its fine then you should allow it as it was already agreed upon. You guys need some education in hospitality.

Nice fancy cafe in Old Quarter Hanoi - egg coffee and coconut coffee were very good. I found the kumquat refreshing, but too sweet. They also have a ton of gifts in case you want to bring things back.

It's located in an area secluded from the traffic noise. Their drinks here are triple the price than what you'll get from the other cafes. Overall it's good but you can get a better value coffee somewhere else.

I enjoy the atmosphere and decor here, and the upstairs seating area is nice for sitting and enjoying a coffee. I specifically came here to try the peanut butter coffee I saw on the menu, but they said they did not have it when I was there, so I tried coconut coffee instead. The coffee tasted ok, but I don't think it was good enough to make me want to come back compared to other places we've tried in the city.

Interesting themed café that offers the usual range of drinks. Except here for example, instead of using real ginger and honey in the tea like most places, they serve a cup of hot water with a sugar sachet and a tea bag!! Cheap, tasteless and nasty. Sadly the staff are disinterested which makes a visit even less enjoyable.

Worth the hype! We ordered the coconut coffee and chocolate cinnamon and they were not that sweet, just how we like it.

A popular local coffee chain packed especially in the evenings. I tried their local coffee with coconut milk and it was delicious, a tad on the sweet side, so be sure to ask for less sweet. The design is very rustic, vintage and cozy and a definite hit if you are into patriotism. I thought the service staff was especially outstanding and helpful. They have a small food menu but their primary focus is coffee. The alfresco vibe here is strong as you see most cafes offering outdoor low stool seating.

The employees didn't give me change. I didn't want to take it if they didn't give it to me, but I got annoyed because they didn't give it to me until I left, so I took it. The customer decides the tip, not the employee. I ordered a large drink, but they gave me a small one, and then took it away and gave it to me again with only ice and water, which was really bland. . .

This place stood out to me on Google maps when I was finding my location in the area. I was imagining it much differently in my mind as more spacious and larger but it’s definitely more compact and less seating area than I thought. The inside is a bit cold with a/c on blast while outdoors it’s possible people smoke. You must take your shoes off on the upper floor and it has a room with some table and a couch and another balcony like seating area where you sit on the floor or a more spacious seat that was already occupied. Def yummy goodies and drinks here and the inspiring display of books and dark wood combo. Overall smaller than expected and could not feel totally at ease. Outside space would be better if they didn’t allow smoking. Staff come by to offer water now and again which is nice.

Very homey vibe inside with a western low volume playlist. Perfect to relax , grab a book, work or just simply chill in hanoi’s busy streets. Ordered The orange - lemon tea - it was light and refreshing. I usually dislike hot drinks but this one was good and refreshing to drink. Mango waffle with coconut ice cream. - the waffle was good and crisp despite eaten slowly. It paired well with the fresh mango slices and coconut ice cream. The waffle also did not sog despite being soaked in melted ice cream.

Delicious coffee and a lovely vibe. The whole café is decorated with Beatles memorabilia, with good music and mood lighting. The service can be a touch slow for food as it’s just one person working, but I don’t mind that much.

There are a few stores in the old town area, make sure u are heading to the one u’d like to. This is a smaller one I think which is next to the Long Waits Jazz Bar. It’s Cozy and comfortable, and has 2 floors which upper floor is like an attic one, a bit squeeze. The brunt cheese cake tastes good. Overall, the vibe is chill at which u can enjoy the afternoon.

Cafe dedicated to quiet working or reading, so if you're looking for a place to drink and chat, this is not for you. But it has a muted jazz cafe vibe, and I especially loved the mezzanine floor seating. Sunny kombucha was the winner for me.

Bit too cozy and too tight a space for me, it’s very difficult to have a private conversation here without eavesdroppers present, but it’s very popular and my pandan coconut drink was excellent. Free parking tickets issued and staff are really kind.

The food at the restaurant was amazing, and the service was good, so overall, I had a great experience. However, I found it odd that they charge for a wet towel. In my opinion, it would be better to either offer it for free or not at all.

This is my first time visiting this iSushi branch, but I’m a bit disappointed. First of all, the sashimi wasn’t that fresh — both the color and texture were noticeably different from other branches. Also, the tempura shrimp was surprisingly underwhelming… Golden Spoon really needs to improve its brand quality control.

Extensive all you can order sushi, hotpot (and BBQ) buffet. Price is 389k(449k VND for BBQ +tax) and okay given the options. Taste and quality was okay but definitely not exceeding expectations. Sadly several dishes where not available/sold out (e. g. Sashimi Tartar), though we did not dine late. Staff could also be more attentive. Best available dish and really standing out was salmon tartar.

This meal was excellent. ISushi is an all-you-can-eat sushi and BBQ place. I ordered just the unlimited sushi without the BBQ for 389,000 vnd. The price includes nigiri, sashimi, sushi rolls, steak; many appetizers to choose from, various salads, hot pot, and dessert. It’s not a typical buffet where you go to a bar and serve yourself but rather you order from a menu then they prepare for you. The fish was very fresh and everything that was cooked was cooked satisfactorily. Staff was friendly and helpful. Because the menu was in Vietnamese I had a server that spoke English who made sure that I choose the right items. I was more than pleased by the outstanding service, especially considering that we were there during peak hours on a Saturday evening. For 2 meals with drinks plus tax the total was 1,050,000 vnd (~$45) Great value.

the staff over here was very attentive which I was very impressed by I think this is better than other branches that I have been to in terms of quality of service. in terms of the quality of the food I think it could have been improved I was generally disappointed that the sashimi was served warm as opposed to cold which it should usually be served cold.

I real like this this place. The ambience/atmosphere is what makes it. They have a lot of enticing cocktails on the menu, although I chose to have some wine while here (lovely Spanish red). The inside is dark and romantic with a comfortable temperature, and they have a long balcony outside with a nice view of the cathedral and the option for some potential people-watching. The bartenders/staff were quite friendly and accommodating, and the whole mood of the place is enveloping. If you’re staying in the area, this is a great place for a casual afternoon, evening, or nighttime drink!

What a beautiful little bar! One of those places that makes me glad for Google Maps, because it’s a place I’d never have found otherwise. It’s located on the first floor inside a 150-year-old house, and it feels like you’ve entered a different world. Highly recommend going here if you like a vibe-y ambience and some delicious cocktails. Definitely on the pricey side, but worth it.

It’s a small upstairs bar with an interesting cocktail menu and great coffee. They also have a balcony with limited seating where you can see the cathedral and people watch. It’s open pretty early. The bartenders are really knowledgeable and friendly. Probably one of my favorite cocktail experiences in Hanoi. It’s not pretentious at all. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I would recommend coming here in the early afternoon. And try some of their delicious cocktails as well as their coffee.

6 stars, very well hidden gem. There’s a balcony you can see from the street, but the shopkeeper underneath had no idea how to get up. Soon enough we found a dimly lit alleyway a few doors down . And some crumbly stairs. Adventurousness repaid as up on the first floor Hanoi house is as cool as you can get , great vibe, music and cocktails. The balcony looks out over the church square, but it’s bit and sticky up there so better inside on the iron mezz accessed via spiral stair. The barman mixed a seasonal special for us. No idea what it was, except delicious. 6/5.

Top quality, creative cocktails. Many of them capture the flavors of Vietnam. The balcony has views of the main street and church. Inside, you can talk to the bartenders who speak English quite perfectly.

Favourite cocktail bar in Hanoi. Loved the experience - we sat on the balcony then moved inside upstairs playing good music. The signature cocktails all have a unique Vietnamese touch and are very creative. If you are into inventive cocktails definitely try them out! (Also happy hour 30% off!)

Nice little cafe on a side street so it isn't too noisy. They serve juice, some tea, and coffee. Egg coffee seems to be popular. Check out the pho restaurant across the street if you're hungry.

One of the most unique Egg coffee i have tasted. Espresso Coffee was well made with condense milk and a rich thick warm egg sabayon sits on top of the coffee. best drank all mixed well. The cacao egg was not as delicious as the coffee version as it had too much egg and was just too rich. Great ambience ! Worth the visit !

Loved the vibe of the place. We had 2 desserts (i can’t really remember the name but 1 had corn soup and the other was beancurd with jasmine infused something). Best che chuoi (banana tapioca pudding) we’ve had in Vietnam. We went back 3 times in the 3 days we were in Hanoi. Their yogurt with jelly and jackfruit was also delicious. Inexpensive and tasty!

This is a lovely cafe with diversed menu, they serve different kinds of drinks as well as deserts (kinds of sweet soups, tofu). I order a sweet soup and tofu, it's very nice, not too sweet and suitable for any weather. Decoration is typically traditional. The staff can speak english quite well.

I made a research on where to eat dessert in Hanoi and a blog took me here. The place is cute and it’s nice to take the table by the window if you wanna people (and scooter) watch. I tried the che and the tofu jelly. I appreciate the jackfruit of the che I ordered. However, these are not the type of desserts that I would usually crave for since I am more of an ice cream or cake kind of person. It is nice to be able to try the country’s traditional treats though. P.S. I also tried the coffee and it is quite strong.

This Starbucks is always extremely busy and getting a seat can be hard to find. Even with plenty of seating up stairs it still can be hard to find a seat for one person, let alone a group of people so have that in mind. Still your classic Starbucks options for food and great coffee and friendly staff, just be warned about the seating situation.

Really nice Starbucks, managed to get a seat upstairs by the window despite it being very busy. My partner got an iced vanilla oat latte and I tried the maple cocoa nibs oat milk iced shaken espresso (what a mouthful!) both drinks were delicious. We had to get some vanilla syrup added to the latte but that wasn’t a problem. The staff were very happy to help :) highly recommend.

I had an extremely terrible experience with the Starbucks Vietnam app. On August 9, the app was down from morning until night. I wanted to place an order and link my Starbucks Rewards account with Grab, but couldn’t. I even thought my device had an issue or my account had been hacked, because when I checked Starbucks’ official pages, there was no announcement from Starbucks Vietnam. It was only when I went to a store that I learned it was a system error. If it’s a system error, Starbucks should have an official notice so customers are aware. You’re holding customers’ money but didn’t give any notice, not even an apology. Meanwhile, you’ve already taken that money and are earning interest on it. The Starbucks stores are not at fault here. The ones at fault are the operations team, marketing team, and IT team. For issues like this, you might as well shut down the loyalty program—don’t take customers’ money in advance and then not let them use it. How is this not a scam??? In a professional environment, you need professional people who know which cases are urgent and must be handled. Don’t just take customers’ money and give them the silent treatment. That’s unacceptable behavior.

Oriberry cafe is very near to the cathedral. The Vietnamese coffee is good but I find the egg coffee so-so. We came in to try and buy the coffee powder and it’s pretty good and cheap that we bought it. It cost 70k for a 200g pack.

Bringing my brother to my favorite coffee shop in Hanoi. I dont know your coffee type but I am sure you will like Thai Yen coffee. They serve traditional Vietnamese coffee to modern ones. They also have egg coffee. They roast coffee by themselves and make quality coffee with great coffee machine. The consistency is great here. This is what you need for your everyday coffee.

Everybody came here to have coffee and an air cond room. The weather was extremely hot outside. The coffee was nice, many selections. Clean toilet, fast wifi, fast service, but too crowded both in the day and evening. Nice town and lake view.

Good location for someone who wants to see the lake view. You may either order downstairs at ground floor or come up to third floor to order and dine in here and enjoy the view. They have outside seating areas for you to be closer to the lake, or you may stay inside and enjoy the cool temperatures while outside is more than 36 degrees. The coffee might be a bit overpriced since it’s franchised, but with the lake view you can still take it. Not recommended if you just want to try out their coffee either here or other locations.

Highlands Coffee is a popular chain of coffee shops in Vietnam, but this branch is not one of their best. The staff is very slow and orders can take up to 20-30 minutes to be prepared. The coffee is decent though, but not worth the wait or the price. The only redeeming feature of this place is the amazing view over the Hoàn Kiếm Lake and busiest junction in the old quarters. You can watch the traffic chaos and the people walking by from the third floor balcony. It's a great spot for taking photos or enjoying the breeze. However, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, you might want to avoid the outside seating. There are always smokers there, and the smoke can ruin your experience. The inside seating is not much better, as it is often crowded and noisy. Overall, I would not recommend this branch of Highlands Coffee to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and satisfying coffee break. There are many other options nearby that offer better service, quality, and atmosphere. Go only for the view.

There are too few fully air-conditioned cafe in the Old Quarter. The 3rd level is fully covered with glass now and is always full and noisy like a primary school canteen. Try to sit at the ground level but the place is small. The cashier girl who took my order is good in English. Wonder why no one else operate air-conditioned cafe in such a touristy place.

Warm Hospitality and Great Experience! RAILWAY TUAN CAFE (The ORIGINAL) is a must-visit spot in Hanoi! The hospitality here is second to none — service was incredibly quick, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The owner is a wonderful guy, super friendly and accommodating. If you are visiting the railway street, this cafe is the one. The food is great , the coffee is solid and the owner is a legend. This place was that good we visited twice , he remembered us and accommodated us on a crazy busy night. He took time to take candid photos of me and my wife which we weren’t aware of until we were leaving and he got my what’s app to send them. They genuinely care about their patrons and the safety of those around and deliver on everything they should .

Had my first egg coffee here and it was very tasty. The timetable hung up on the wall said the train had finished running for the day but actually one came through so that was a nice surprise. Toilet is located across the tracks from the main shop and had no soap

The highlight of the restaurant is Tuan himself 😁 had a great chat with him and was lovely to meet him. Has veg options on the menu! And I tried the mint coffee which had an amazing flavour - I never tried this flavour in vietnam before. This place has very special coffee flavours 😋💜

I had an iced Vietnamese white coffee. It was sweet and creamy. As an iced amreicano lover, I can't believe that I am getting used to Vietnamese sweet coffees.

A franchise of coffee shops that deliver decent coffee and tea hot and cold drinks. We bought black tea and coffee beans to make our own drinks. We recommend their Culi coffee. It was a bit difficult to communicate with staff, but they were quite patient.

The name has a funny English rhyme but that is the end of the fun. The coffee is very ordinary and almost impossible to order without sugar. There are lots of staff but they don't clean the tables when a customer leaves. It's disgusting. Look at the pictures.

I personally did not liked Oolong tea- it was not hot nor it was sweet. Red velvet cheese cake was very hard and not at all yum. It is a self service cafe and can sit and do office work.

My experience was nothing compared to the 1-star review. The staff was very helpful, they spoke basic English and understood my order. The waiting time was normal, although only 6 people were waiting before me. I really like the tea and I had the best seller, Phuc Long Milk Tea. It was properly boiled, and I could taste the bitterness of the tea, and the caffeine as well. I bought the tea bags for souvenirs. They have various selections of flavors, lotus, lychee, black, oolong, jasmine, and peach. I'd recommend you to go here if you love tea. The price is standard like any other coffee shop, Phuc Long Milk Tea regular is 45k VND.

I feel giving a star is already over rated for this place. Went in today (14/9/25) at about 1:45 pm to have a drink but decided to walk out because of 3 reasons as per below:- 1. It was so stuffy and I dont know why they are not turning on the A/C. Saving electricity? 2. The toilet is extremely dirty. 3. The counter staffs looks so sad and unfriendly. Decided to walk out immediately due to the above 3 reasons.

WOW - 12/10 – What an absolutely amazing experience! I can hardly put into words how incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive the staff was. Both Tué and Dang were simply the sweetest and made us feel so welcome, always quick, caring, and exceptional in their service. The food was fantastic and arrived super fast. We went for the avocado toasts, which were not only fresh but also really delicious. The cappuccino came with such a beautiful design that made it extra special, and the passion fruit tea was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything together created such a warm and memorable visit – I can’t wait to come back again soon! Defitinly happy to come back any time. I can really enjoy this restaurant to anyone!

Great coffee and brunch placed tucked away in the heart of Hanoi! You have to walk down a small side alley and go up some stairs to get there which is nice because its a true Vietnam experience! We came here for our first breakfast after arriving from Bali as we missed some western food and it was really good! Would really recommend to the smoothies bowls as we particularly liked that. Staff are really friendly and the place has a good vibe (plus many western customers) Thanks!

This hidden gem was a wonderful find in old downtown Hanoi. It is located on the second floor and the coffee and lunch was fresh and so flavorful. The staff were so nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back the next time we drop by Hanoi in December for brunch or breakfast. Don’t miss this one!

We were craving a western-style brunch 🍳 for a change during our stay in Hanoi, and this place totally delivered! We had to wait a bit to get a table, but it was absolutely worth it. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the staff were super friendly. The entrance is a bit tricky to find, you have to go up a set of stairs, but once inside, it’s cozy and welcoming. Plus, they offer free water, which is a nice touch!

Coffee was delicious. I tried the peanut butter coffee and egg coffee. Both were prepared very quickly. I enjoyed sitting on the terrace and watching the street below. Tue was a delightful server - very warm and delighted to share about the drinks. So glad I came here today!

We have come back here a couple of times and the staff is amazing. Dawin and Tue were super friendly and even helped us with a project by contributing with suggestions and a short interview. Definitely recommend coming here. They also have the best salt coffee in Hanoi!

the experience is new. first I did not know that we will be so close to the train. However, the staff are very nice, they told us what to do and how to experience it in best way. they also very helpful for tourist. I ordered coconut coffee, the coconut is not really tasted but it’s okay for 50k vnd + the experience. I came on Monday and directly got table for 4 people. At the road, the staff was waiting then they will guide us to the cafe and train street. Nice experience!

Probably one of the best spots for train spotting and snacking on Train Street. I've been here twice, and Hanoi 1990s really stands out for both service and food. From a simple message to follow-ups and warm hospitality, everything was spot on. Lily and her team go beyond just serving snacks-they make sure the entire Train Street experience is memorable. The food was tasty, and drinks like beer and juice are reasonably priced, similar to other places. Highly recommend this café, and a big thanks to the team!

Friendly service to help us see the train street safely, we turned up a little early as this cafe offers balcony seating. We bought just beer, Bia Hanoi served cold. We were recommended to put the cap on the track as a memento. We moved downstairs and outside for the second train, there was no pushiness to sell, just warm and friendly service, I'd recommend here for anyone visiting the Train street

This is small coffee and snake shop situated right next to railway of Hanoi city. It's pretty interesting place the railway. The tables and chaires are right beside the railway and when train pass you to your leg toward the side and they remove tables. For sure it's a tourist spot and the coffe and drink are ok. However the staff are friendly and nice. It's good to have the experience if you are in Hanoi. There are lots of coffee shop both sides of railway which are more or less in the same range. Some of them are really small and people leaving there. They got the smart idea to get advantage of their situation to do some money. Oh BTW if you drink a.beer a.beer, put the capsule of the bottle on the railway and the train passes make it flat ...as souvenir.

They have a really good spot for a great photo - round-the-bend! Instagramable spots all around 🤩 Staff are friendly and plenty to take your order. But that’s all you’ll be paying for, food and drinks were nothing to shout about, i think the best is to order a cold bottled beer since you can even crush the cap with the train for a personalized souvenir. ⚠️ There are no safety instructions and some of the staff only speaks enough English for ordering food. When the train comes your table will be removed so you have to choose between holding your items or your camera. Your seat is the only safe spot, so stay seated and keep your limbs within your seat to avoid losing them - yes it’s that dangerous! Be cautious and you should be fine though!

We arrived extra early at 8 o’clock and it was empty so great opportunity to take pictures. The staff greeted us shortly after and for food we got the beef noodle and chicken rice. Drinks we started off with the mango coffee and salt coffee, and later got the avocado smoothie and lime juice while waiting for the train to come. The food was 4/5, drinks were 5/5 and service was 5/5. Great view of the morning train and loved that it wasn’t too busy!

This cafe is far from old quarter, not a lot of tourist when I went so it was nice. It has old architecture and the old style of Hanoi. It was peaceful, I love their choice in music. Although, I didn’t really like the drink I ordered, it was hot salted caramel. It wasn’t really hot at all. I feel it wasn’t the right temperature. Anyway, I still recommend this place cause its chill

Lovely place we stumbled across when coming back from the Temple of Literature. Friendly staff who helped us choose the perfect drinks. We had the pineapple cold brew and the salted caramel latte. Both were excellent. Sweet little cat called Plum. Great atmosphere

Went there on a Saturday evening and this cafe didn't disappoint. The drink and cake was fantastic (not too sweet yet flavourful)! Vibe and music was on the spot! The waitress was very kind and spoke in English; the cafe is very local, every authentic. I would give it 5 ⭐ if the door could close properly, cause the cigarette smell was constantly disturbing

It was our first day in Vietnam and we were looking forward to try the famous egg coffee and coconut coffee. Searching for the cafe giang on that day but it was closed as we reached after 10.30 pm but we found this cafe and thought let’s give it a try. And believe coffee here didn’t disappoint. We ordered both it was the best coffee I ever had in my life. Recommended to try this place.

Incredible icy (slushie style!) coconut coffees here, kind and caring staff, beautiful decor! Go to the second floor to get a window seat to relax and people watch. This cafe may be overlooked as it is next to popular tourist spot Cafe Giang, but we had such a nice time we came back for more!

At Vi Anh Coffee we tried both the egg coffee and the salted coffee. The egg coffee was absolutely delicious, and the salted coffee was a pleasant surprise — at first it doesn’t seem like a good combination, but it’s definitely worth trying. In our opinion, both taste better hot than iced. A cosy spot and totally recommended!

Strong recommend. Tried their best seller "creme brulée egg coffee" and their iced coconut cream coffee. They were both well done, the texture creme on the egg coffee was smooth and blended nicely with the coffee. Coffee used tasted strong, very enjoyable. The coconut cream coffee was good but could have tasted more like coconut, slightly disappointing hence the 4 stars. Prices are very reasonable for the area, cheaper than most other well-known competitors or brands. Service was very quick and the atmosphere is great, lovely tiled floor, pictures of Old Hanoi on the walls and glass windows ideal to people-watch. Would come again for sure.

An artsy cafe & bar tucked away in the by lanes of Hanoi Old Quarter. We visited this place on the recommendation of a fellow traveller. The interior space is vast and gorgeous that will make you want to spend a lot of time admiring its beauty. The coffee and food were alright. We felt we had had better in other places during our trip.

Deceivingly small entrance and stairwell. If you make it to the cafe/bar you are greeted with a fantastic decor. Make sure you explore and find the back stairwell that takes you to their hidden terrace. Probably the only place in Hanoi I couldn't hear the traffic, honking and crowds.

Blink and you will miss the entrance, but well worth finding. Funky cafe with a maze of interesting little rooms and terraces to enjoy. Tried my first egg coffee here. Staff were friendly and professional but still in a laid back way so you felt really welcomed.

Nola Cafe, it's good to be back. It's been years and things have changed. Good, dramatic shifts. Tucked away down a narrow alley at 89 Ma May, it feels like a secret garden within a bustling city. Nola is particularly known for its charming and hidden location. One of the precious, hidden gems of Hanoi. It preserved its vintage, French-Indochina charmand it feels as though it has always been there. Now Nola cafe is adapting to trends while rooted in tradition. I'm proud to see a diverse menu beyond traditional Vietnamese coffee, including smoothies, cocktails, best seller and must try dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Nola granola and roasted chicken with bechamel sauce. Payments through QR codes, cash and cards.

Genuine local cuisine, it was fab, Tasty, well presented and the staff were super helpful in selecting what would suit our pallete, The staff went over and above the normal Western attitude and made the visit perfect Five it a go

I like the look of this place. Although quiet when I went in early on a Sunday evening, the feel of the place is very warm and inviting. I only went in for a quick drink so cannot comment on the food.

Super cute and trendy little cafe, the cafes is a few floors up but there's a cute Crafts floor and they've got interesting drink flavours. Also an outside seating area. I got the bamboo charcoal tea drink.

My friend and I stumbled upon this cafe and she got the Mango fruit tea with peach jelly. I wasn’t gonna get anything, then I tried a sip, and my eyes widened with AMAZEMENT and I got up and ordered the same thing. The ambiance is also so cute and there’s an amazing view of the cathedral! You can taste the oolong tea and the fruits so clearly in the drink YALL NEED TO TRY!!!

Located in the heart of Hanoi, this spot is truly unique, especially with its stunning view of the Cathedral from the fourth floor. I found the gift shop and flower shop on the ground level to be particularly eye-catching. As you make your way up, you'll come across a small yet trendy bookshop and then a spacious cafe. If you're in need of a place to work on your laptop, the third floor is the perfect spot. For those looking to snap a photo with the Cathedral as their backdrop, head up to the fourth floor balcony. I had the pleasure of trying the pandan tea, which was surprisingly delicious and completely new to me. They even have a night bar that opens at 8 pm, which I plan on checking out during my next visit. If you find yourself in this area, this place is definitely worth a visit!

We came here for a quick coffee break and were primarily attracted by the balcony seatings. Walking in, we immediately appreciated the very cozy and artsy atmosphere. The service was also really friendly and welcoming. What really stole the show was their smooth coffee (the first item on the menu), it's absolutely incredible and probably one of the best coffee drinks I've had in Vietnam so far! I'd recommend this place for a great coffee and great views.

The most vibrant and unique coffee in Hanoi so far. I love the sepeerated decoration of each floor, the glass of drink, the witty cat and the view from rooftop. Everything makes me feel excited 😚 Will definitely come back

Very well making coffee, one of the finger Top coffee flavour in Hanoi. Made from origin of Viet Nam, mixing come from the North to the South of Viet Nam (Dien Bien, Quang Tri, Da Lat,....) This place is not very crowded, best for take away. All is tasting!!!
