S'Patisserie, nestled in the Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi, is a charming bakery that takes inspiration from the delightful patisseries found along the streets of Paris. The cozy spot offers a chance to relax and enjoy traditional coffee or treat yourself to expertly crafted pastries and cakes.
The place has been renovated recently and it’s for sure the right spot to grab a traditional Vietnamese coffee. Also, they have different desserts choices worth the try. Highly recommended.
Abi H — Google review
We recently visited S'Patisserie for an afternoon tea and cake, having hoped there might be some dedicated high tea sets available for a more elaborate experience. While that particular expectation wasn't met, the patisserie itself is undeniably charming. The interiors are quite elegant, boasting a sophisticated decor that creates a very pleasant and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed break from exploring the city. In terms of the food, we found it to be generally "OK." We tried a selection of their cakes and enjoyed our tea, but nothing truly stood out as exceptional or particularly memorable. The items were pleasant enough, but perhaps lacked that unique spark or depth of flavor that would elevate them to a "must-try" status.

Lovely, cozy corner café with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxed mornings around the lake. The view is absolutely beautiful, and it’s a great spot to enjoy a quiet coffee while watching the city come to life. The manager is very friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even warmer. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Hanoi
Charles P — Google review
Lovely place with great views, comfortable sitting unlike many other cafes with great view but low standard for everything else. Their cakes are nice patisserie french style, their drinks are good too. Staff is competent and kind, doing the extra mile for you. In our case it was birthday candle on the cake we ordered.

I fell in love with this place at first sight! Beautiful cafe with very tasty pastries and coffee. I have oredere carbonara, lemon cake and blackberry cake, they were delicious. I highly recommend this place to foreigners who are tired of vietnamese food and search for testy food amd smooth service is great! The atmosphere there is very pleasant. I really liked the manager and also the waiters, they have nice personalities and care about their customers. I will certainly come back when I will be in Hanoi🤍 Come and try, you won't regret about this, believe me🌸

Very nice restaurant. Not sure what other patrons low stars are about?? Great staff, service and food. Phuong was very friendly and professional with great English. The USB wall charger was also a nice touch for flat iPhones!!! Thank you.

Wonderful coffee and cake shop. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. The rose and vanilla latte hit the spot on a rainy day. The views of the lake are lovely too.

Comfortable and quiet cafe attached to Silk Path Hotel next door. Food dishes are made there and brought in by staff. All the staff are very attentive and speak english well. Coffees are superb and include your choice of cake, biscuit or croissant.

Cafe
O'Douceurs Pastry Cafe, established in 2014 by French Pastry Chef Silen Garrigues, has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists in Hanoi. The cafe offers a delightful selection of cakes, truffles, and other freshly baked goods that have charmed visitors with their French quality. The cozy decor features comfortable sofas and large windows offering scenic views of Thong Nhat Park on the first floor and Thien Quang Lake on the top floor.
If you love croissant and pastry of the sort then you must really try this place out. The price is within reasonable range for a delight experience of a nice dessert/brunch. The decor is warm and friendly with rather comfy sofas. Huge glass window if that's what you want. Drinks are complimentary enough.
Nhã N — Google review
Got the almond croissant and plain croissant ordered via Grab. Super fast delivery. The croissants are big and fluffy outside, but the taste is really plain to my liking and not so flaky. Feel like bread with a hint of butter in it. Not the best though.
S T — Google review
All of the goods look so delicious - I had a hard time deciding - I would have ordered more if they accept card payment but as they only take cash or local transfer I went with three different dessert items and a drink. The staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Had to repeat myself several times not just due to language barrier but due to the fact they looked apathetic and would move as slow as possible it seemed. Not really enthusiastic type of energy. I went to the rooftop that although without a/c has a more enjoyable view. Although was lots of construction noise from nearby building. Would be nice if they have drinking water available for customers to stay hydrated while outside which many cafes otherwise provide.
Sarah H — Google review
Nicely present and tasty French-style desserts! I enjoyed the 'paris brest' which was well-constructed and delicious, and a hot chocolate. A nice way to wrap up the day!
Greg S — Google review
Nice little cafe, lots of very pretty and reasonably priced desserts. The staff was helpful and responsive when we had questions. They only take cash or local bank transfer, just FYI, no cards.
Sarah D — Google review
We wanted to see the sunset and stumbled upon this cafe with a rooftop. I think it’s quite unknown since there was nobody there, but the view was beautiful. We ordered 2 mocktails mojitos which I wouldn’t recommend, they were a bit too sweet.
Lau C — Google review
Pâtisseries of French standard at a reasonable price. The cafe is indoor air-conditioned with nice windows so we took a takeaway. The croissants were decent but the pâtisseries were amazing.

Not many seatings but the place is very lovely. Plenty of desserts options. Very delicious tiramisu and the saint honoure cake.

Saint-Honoré Phuong Mai in Ha Noi is a French-style bakery that offers a wide range of classic French pastries and sweets. It's a popular spot for bread enthusiasts looking for something different. The bakery also serves gourmet sandwiches, fluffy pancakes, and soft pastries with incredible sauces. While the prices are slightly higher than other local eateries, the outstanding taste and excellent service make it worth it.
Lovely coffee, pastry’s, yoghurt and juice.

Joma Bakery Café is a chain of cafes with locations in Southeast Asia, including Vientiane, Laos. The café offers a commercial vibe with ample seating near the counter, in a courtyard, and in an enclosed dining area with plenty of tables and chairs. It's known for being a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack. While slightly pricier than other similar eateries, it boasts a pleasant dining atmosphere with air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and complimentary water.
Lot of options here at Joma Bakery Cafe. We enjoyed our time here, on a quiet Sunday. The peanut butter brownie was a bit hard, but after a while it was easier to break apart. The peach drink was good, just as the blueberry muffin.

Freshly baked, convenient from where we stay. The shop is well display and attract the eyes. But I have to say the Cappuccino is not to what I used to have. Croissants filling is quite abundant with egg cream and baked in different style. Doughnut is good… A rest , quick bite for lunch, any time till 10pm is okie.

This café is one of my favourite spots in Hanoi. It's an oasis of calm amid the chaos, serving great western-style breakfasts, sandwiches, cakes etc. promptly and with a smile. I've been coming here every week for a year and it never gets old. 100% recommended.
Gordon I — Google review
I find the service very friendly and the food and coffee very tasty. It describes itself as a bakery café. However, there is more to be had here - delicious warm meals that are unusual for a bakery café. I would like to thank you for the great service. The ambience gets 5 stars, but it could be a little more. Overall, the bakery is a tourist-friendly destination. Thank you very much

Great food with a good value! Their food and drink là never disappoint. Can’t say enough how much we appreciate JOMA’s presence and what they have to offer in the city. Service has room for improvement though, especially with greetings and welcome when customers enter the store. Not professional when staffs joking and laughing with each other behind the counter, totally ignoring a group of customers walking through the door and to the ordering counter. Other than that, we had a great experience at the restaurant. Love what they have done with the place. Highly recommended.

The Note Coffee is a charming café located in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter, just north of Hoan Kiem Lake. This quirky spot has gained popularity for its vibrant and Instagram-worthy interior adorned with colorful post-it notes left by customers since 2012. The café spans four cozy stories, each covered in layers of customer-written notes, creating a unique and lively atmosphere.
Very unique concept where you can leave a mark, read others notes while enjoying drinks and cakes and cozy atmosphere, very friendly staffs and taking in the lake view just across the road and Hanoi’s street activity. Also, baked goodies are so good! 😋our favorite is the cheesecake so divine! and the coconut coffee frappe is so creamy and delicious especially if you don’t like very strong coffee flavor. If you’re going to Hanoi this coffee shop is worth the visit!
Jean — Google review
What a great and unusual place to visit. We loved this cafe with it's quirky gimmick. Order your drinks, climb the winding staircase, find a table on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor, the waiter will find you! Then grab a note from one of the many baskets, and start writing away. Peel the back off, and stick your thoughts, memories, tributes to the wall. The drinks were great and my red velvet cake hit the mark. The atmosphere was tremendous and the location is simply amazing. The window views stretch over the busy roads to the expansive lake. What a spot.
Philly B — Google review
A unique and memorable coffee shop! I talked with one of the staff members and she told me that this place has existed for only 13 years — but judging by the amount of notes on the walls, it feels like it’s been here for 50! The notes come from people all around the world, which makes the atmosphere truly amazing in my opinion. The location is also perfect, just next to the lake, so if you are walking around it’s a lovely spot to stop and enjoy your coffee ☕️ My little son even wrote a note for his own future children, saying that one day he will come back here with them. That moment made the visit even more special for us. Highly recommended!
Rave G — Google review
Cool place to sip a coffee beside the hoan kiem lake. This place is unique for its sticky notes all over the cafe. Tried the coconut coffee which is their best seller. It was just good not extraordinary 7/10 for taste. Egg coffee and egg cocoa were excellent.
Ramdas P — Google review
This place was so great when we visited Hanoi, from the guy outside shouting ‘fresh coffee, fruit juice’ to the decor this place is amazing. I had the mint frappe and my partner had the iced coffee and it’s safe to save we returned at least 3 - 4 times during our stop in Hanoi and would recommend it to anyone. There is about 4/5 floors and I would definitely say it’s worth going up to explore.
Daniel T — Google review
The Note Coffee in Hanoi wasn’t exactly about the egg coffee for me — honestly, it didn’t feel like the real deal (and I didn’t even get to take a photo of it). But what stood out was the vibe of the place. There’s something beautifully nostalgic about being surrounded by colorful notes from people all over the world — little stories, confessions, and wishes scribbled on bits of paper. It reminded me of old times, of serendipity, and of how connected strangers can feel through simple words left behind. A cozy stop for the heart, more than the palate.
Mai ( — Google review
I really enjoyed this coffee shop. The staff were super friendly and as well as it being super instagrammable, the food/drink is tasty and a fair price. People have complained about the fact some of the notes are "wet through" but what do you expect when the whole place is covered in post it's 😂 Overall, I enjoyed it. The view was lovely and it was heartwarming reading some of the notes that had been left by others. P.s I recommend the cheesecake!
Emily H — Google review
A Unique and Heartwarming Café Experience: The Note Coffee is not just a café – it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by colorful sticky notes covering every wall, window, and table. Messages, dreams, and thoughts from people all around the world create a warm, inspiring atmosphere that feels truly special. I tried the Egg Coffee and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Hanoi. Their drink selection is creative and delicious, and everything is made with care. What stood out most was the service – the staff are incredibly friendly and even bring your drink with a personal, handwritten note. Such a thoughtful and lovely touch! Whether you want to relax, write, reflect, or simply take a break from the busy streets of Hanoi, The Note Coffee is the perfect place. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates small details and big emotions.

Bakery
Nestled in the heart of Hanoi's Hoan Kiem District, King Roti - Hàng Gai is a delightful pop-up bakery that has captured the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike. With a straightforward menu featuring four delectable flavors—vanilla, green tea, classic coffee, and chocolate—this charming spot may seem modest at first glance. However, the magic lies in their freshly baked roti buns that are crispy on the outside yet soft and warm within.
The bread is super soft and fluffy! The top has that nice crunchy vibe, but once you bite in.. so soft inside. Tastes really good too! And it's only VND 20,000?! Totally worth trying! 🙌💯 The shop literally right at the street corner, super easy to find. Service was fast too! I was staying in the Old Quarter, so it only took a few minutes to walk here. Super convenient! 🏃‍♀️✨
Mega — Google review
Ordered their best seller - Number 1 coffee chocolate. 20k for a bun almost bigger than my hand. First impressions were that it was super soft. Divine once you reach the chocolate centre. Compared with the Malaysian RotiBoy, I expected the top to be crispier. Regardless, was still really good and would recommend.
Claudia P — Google review
I tried King Roti in Hanoi for the first time and ordered the matcha latte bun. It was so good, soft inside and not overly sweet. I went back the next day and had the coffee chocolate bun which was just as delicious with warm chocolate inside. At only 20,000 VND each, it’s totally worth it and no wonder there’s always a line.
Lydia C — Google review
Better than expected! Wouldn’t have tried this if the rain hadn’t cleared out the queue. Served warm. 20k VND per bun. Coffee Butter Roti: Coffee scent was strong and you can’t go wrong with warm butter. Matcha Milky Roti: Matcha colored crust but there was no taste to it. Pleasantly surprised that the bun had a slightly chewy texture - maybe it’s the “milky” apart?
Dan — Google review
We came here to check what’s the hype is all about. While it’s cheap and nice to grab a quick bite, the filling was very little. The chocolate coffee buns were nice but our pee smelled like it for the whole day I don’t know whyyyy! 💀
K B — Google review
The rotis here are absolutely delicious! I ended up coming back almost every day during my stay in Hanoi. There are several flavors to choose from, each one better than the last (Vanilla is my favorite!) . I really miss them now, if you’re in Hanoi, this is definitely a must-try! Tasty, affordable, and totally worth it.
Mathilde B — Google review
I had no idea what to expect but I'm glad I tried these! They are gorgeous little pillows of cake/bread with a sugary crust and then filled with various flavours. We tried to vanilla custard and the matcha custard and they were delicious! Not bad for 20k a piece. Would highly recommend as they're served fresh and warm - delicious!
Emily H — Google review
Not understanding the hype of this one. Often there is a long queue, and therefore long wait. Since I didn’t want to judge without comparing - we went also to their neighbor (the roti). Sadly the buns from King Roti are far away from the quality next door. It was a pretty dry bun, not really hot anymore, just warm and for the filling we had to search (half way of the bun we found it). Only positive the bun appeared bigger, it was maybe a bit more flat than the other one next door. The taste in general was okay, but nothing special.

Paris Gateaux is a popular bakery chain in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, known for its authentic French desserts and glamorous interior settings. With numerous branches, it's a favorite among Vietnamese youth. In addition to bread, pastries, and birthday cakes, Paris Gateaux also offers tea and sweet specialties from Taiwan and Hong Kong. The third-floor seating provides a clear street view through glass walls, creating a mesmerizing ambiance.

Although the staff were very supportive and friendly, the quality of the cake was a great disappointment. Too dry to swallow… The whipping cream was just mediocre. What a pity for a popular brand!
Le L — Google review
Cake was horrible, a matcha mouse cake isn't supposed to be dry & chewy! I wouldn't be surprised if that cake sat there for a few days already. There is a layer of gelatine in the middle, kudos to the chef for being so bold in his terrible creation. At their price range, I didn't expect to be served with a plastic spoon either. The place is worn out, not so clean. Finally, don't get fooled by the naming, the only "Paris" thing here is the music from the 50s 😳

The drinks are wonderful, provided with the clear street view on 3rd floor through the glass wall, under the dim light... It's just mesmerizing. Also the barista's attitude is very nice, opening the door with a warm welcome every time. I always find this place an ideal study nook and hangout venue any time I think of going out of the house.

Maison Marou Flagship Hanoi is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts, offering exquisite chocolates made from Vietnam's finest cocoa. The brand, known for producing the 'best chocolate in the world' according to the New York Times magazine, was founded by Vincent Mourou and Sam Maruta after discovering Vietnam's hidden fine flavored cacao. Their bean-to-table bakery exclusively features Vietnamese cocoa and boasts delectable artisan bars and cookies that have left visitors raving about their exceptional taste.
Service was so welcoming and inviting. My questions were answered with politeness and suggestions were made based on my interests. This chocolate was wonderful! Smooth/silky texture. Not too sweet. Definitely not over powering with the right amount of chocolate. I sat to enjoy my drink and snack. Listened to music and relaxed as I tried not to eat the cookie too quickly. (I bought two more after I finished the first one.)

Maison Marou is a chocolate lover’s paradise in Vietnam. The colorful shop is filled with beautifully wrapped bars and tempting free samples — the Saigon Coffee Milk Chocolate with Bac Lieu sea salt is a standout, perfectly balancing sweet, salty, and aromatic coffee notes. The café serves rich chocolate drinks, great coffee, and gorgeous pastries, all while you watch chocolatiers at work. Whether you’re here for a sweet treat, a unique gift, or one of their pastry workshops, Maison Marou is a must-visit for any foodie or chocolate fan!

Woah. I was just walking by and chocolate sounded good so I went it. What a majestic experience! Single source chocolate from different regions of Vietnam? Check. Thoughtfully designed interiors where you see chocolate makers practicing their craft? Check. The tastiest pineapple moon cake I've ever had? Smiley friendly staff? Check check check. This is a must visit in Hanoi for chocolate connoisseurs 🫰bonus points for sampling opportunity.

Such a lovely place! It has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and I love how they change the decor based on different events and seasons. The staff are always polite, friendly, and attentive. The drinks are delicious. I highly recommend the milkshake and Marou chocolate. Their desserts are outstanding, especially the tiramisu and Paris Saigon cake. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy something sweet.

If you find yourself in Hanoi and have a penchant for sweets, Delica-Hans is the place to be! Nestled within the luxurious Lotte Hotel, this bakery offers an array of delectable treats that will surely satisfy your cravings. From rich chocolate cakes and delightful fruit tarts to buttery croissants that could rival those from Paris, every bite is a celebration of flavor.
This place might not have proper seating, but it more than makes up for it with its baked goodies, especially the quiche Lorraine, which turned out to be surprisingly nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially ms. Hanh, who nailed my ridiculously tricky packaging needs.

One of my favourite desert shop. Cake is not too sweet. Drinks are tasty. I don't like sweet thing. But really recommend this brand to buddy. Shop is just being renovated, so having more space for customers. Not like before.

Dropped by since the coffee promotion (15% off for coffee drinks) and truly disappointed. Don't really recommend Thai Milk Tea Crepes since it's too heavy and creamy. But awesome service attitude helps everything. For new membership: you got 1 HIBISCUS drink for free There's only one floor so the space is really limited.
Ray T — Google review
Clean, nice natural light. I order the soft serve matchamisu and the Thai tea milles crepe. The milles crepe as good as I would like because it had some Thai tea jelly things in-between the layers. It also didn't have much of a Thai tea flavor. The soft serve Matchamisu was great and what I wanted. Not sure if they use alcohol in the recipe, but it was nice and creamy with cake breading. I also ordered the a yuzu soda without sugar and the avocado peach smoothie without sugar. Which both were fine, but I could have used a bit more sugar in the smoothie (which was my fault).

Some cakes were beautiful, good qualities and not too sweet but others (such as crepe,...) were too rich of cream and butter so it was hard to finish all of the cake. Not many kind of flavors for the drinks.

Bánh trôi tàu, chè đỗ đen is a traditional Vietnamese dessert often enjoyed during special celebrations like the Vietnamese New Year and an infant's first birthday. These rice flour balls are filled with mung bean paste, drizzled with ginger syrup, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Served with a touch of coconut cream, they symbolize fulfillment and solidarity. The balls can even be dyed in lucky colors for various festive occasions.
Bánh trôi tàu, my fav dessert in the winter of Hanoi. With only 20k, it's simply unbeatable in the cold weather. This shop and 54 Bach Mai are my go to spots to have it, it's only sell in the winter so keep that at mind. The two shops open from afternoon till night, suck a lovely time to have it. Goodnight Piece.

Black bean sweet soup served with coconut milk is quite fragrant and rich. (Translated by Google) Simple, sidewalk shop with a gas stove, a few storage boxes and a few plastic tables and chairs. I rarely eat Banh Troi Tau (hot water sweet soup), so it's difficult to compare. Feeling: - The shell is soft and flexible enough - Fragrant ginger juice, fragrant peanuts but a bit sweet. When you first taste the hot bite, it feels delicious, but the more you eat, the sweeter the taste becomes. - The green bean filling is soft, it would be better if the sugar was reduced a little because the ginger juice is sweet. No black sesame paste. - A bowl of tea with 3 pieces of tea costs 20k, just enough to fill you up, I think the price is ok. (Original) Quán vỉa hè, đơn sơ với 1 chiếc bếp ga, mấy hộp đựng đồ và vài bộ bàn ghế nhựa. Mình ít ăn bánh trôi tàu (chè trôi nước nóng) nên khó so sánh. Cảm quan: - vỏ dẻo mềm vừa đủ độ - nước gừng thơm, lạc thơm cơ mà hơi ngọt. Mới nếm miếng đầu nóng thù thấy vừa miệng nhưng càng ăn sẽ càng cảm nhận rõ vị ngọt. - nhân đậu xanh mềm, nếu giảm đường xíu thì tốt vì nước gừng ngọt rồi. Ko có nhân mè đen. - một bát chè 3 viên trôi 20k vừa đủ no, mình thấy giá vậy ok.

(Translated by Google) Because it's a dining location, I'll rate the food first. 20 thousand for a bowl of sweet soup with 3 wheels. It's heartwarming, but the taste is 8/10, the tea is a bit bland, not like it lacks sugar, it's sweet but still feels like it's missing something, nothing stands out, the girls will shape the dumplings there and Cooking it right away, waiting for the cake while watching the girls make the cake is also fun, but I would prefer the cake to be cooked more thoroughly. The restaurant is crowded and the sidewalks and streets are crowded, but I like to sit and sip banh troi somewhere less noisy.

Great restaurant. I tried their veggie burger and it was delicious. It comes with a side of fries that are amazing, perfect texture and taste (and pretty thick). A great place for food and drinks! The atmosphere was excellent, we sat in comfy chairs with a low table and our server was very nice. We ordered the social club burger, the green bean salad, and tofu chips, and for dessert we had the chocolate orange cake and sticky date pudding. I wish I had taken a picture of our entrees because everything was so good, especially the salad, which I wish I could have again. I highly recommend!

Fancied something a little different from the local cuisine and it has an interesting menu. Catered very well for vegetarians (3 in our party of 8) Service was prompt and accurate. Great to have read-back by wait staff. I had the Goulash, Vegetable Tempura and the best chips (they call french fries but they were proper chips). 2 of 3 vegetarians demolised their dishes (cherry tomato spaghetti, vegan mushroom pasta). Pineapple Ginger - Dark Rum, pineapple juice and Ginger (syrup?) Recommend booking for large group. Has open air top floor, mid level enclosed air-conditioning and a room suitable for large group and private.

Very cool place to hang out for a cocktail or two, which is what we did. The mulberry smoked rum cocktail was like sweet bbq while the “pho” was a gin based cocktail with lime and chilli and flavours of pho. They had a cherry ripe dessert ( but were sold out ) and palova which looked great. They also have a lot of vegan choices, though we didn’t try any food. The art works are really amazing - I keep seeing faces in the prints. The link to the local artist Nyugen is in the pics.

When in Hanoi this bakery / patisserie is definitively worth a visit. Located between two cafes (where you can get the coffee to your pastries) is sells fantastic looking tartlets, cakes and savory pastry. We tested the sweet ones and all of them were really good. The caramel cream with the gold leaf on top, the red one with a mini macaron and the filling and the fruity one (which came with quite a rich amount of sweet shortcrust pastry). We took another three, which were also really good but I guess we should have bought the next day 😊 One minor point to improve in my humble opinion: There was a huge bouquet of real lilies in front of the shop, and while they looked really beautiful their scent is quite strong. Nonetheless, if in Hanoi, I would definitely stop here.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable culinary experience in Hanoi, look no further than Bánh Tráng Thịt Heo Giang Mỹ Cơ Sở 4. This charming eatery offers a delightful array of Vietnamese dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. From succulent summer rolls filled with roast pork and beef salad to crispy fried shrimp coated in shredded coconut, every bite is a flavor explosion.
If you're visiting Hanoi, this place is a must-try! We enjoyed it so much we came back twice during our visit. The food was really good, and the staff was nice. There were plenty of complimentary items like fresh vegetables and rice paper wrappers, allowing you to create your own rolls, along with a variety of desserts—it was really fun! Ordering was super easy with their QR code system—quick and convenient. Overall, it was a fantastic and unique dining experience with great food and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

4-star experience for a foreign couple. Menu is completely in Vietnamese so we had to use translations to order. NOTE: it isn't explained anywhere in English, however for 15k/per person, you can have full access to the sauce menu/side menu/salad bar. This is 100% a local hotspot, we were the only non-Vietnamese speaking people here, which was a fun little adventure for us. Food itself was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our little fresh spring roll escapade, however, had the duck not been 30% inedible due to the amount of duck bone in our dish, this would've been 5 stars, no doubt. The crispy pork on the other-hand was incredible. The amount of fresh veg and salad provided for free alongside the meats to fill the rice-paper with was generous. We also had a bit of a dilemma due to the lack of English-speaking staff, no part of the ordering process was explained to us, and we relied on another kind local patron who was beside us helped us out with our food by showing us, which the staff maybe could've done. This did not take away from the overall experience and it was still great.

Bánh Tráng Thịt Heo Giang Mỹ (Cơ Sở 4) is a great spot if you’re craving one of Central Vietnam’s most iconic dishes. This place specializes in the famous pork and rice paper rolls, and they do it with consistency and flavor that keep people coming back. The star here is, of course, the meat. The pork is tender, sliced thinly with just the right balance of lean and fat, making every bite rich without being too heavy. It pairs beautifully with the fresh herbs, cucumber, green banana, and other vegetables that are served generously on the side. The rice paper is soft yet firm enough to hold everything together, making it easy to wrap your own rolls at the table. What really ties the meal together is the dipping sauce. Their signature mắm nêm (fermented fish sauce) is full of depth—savory, slightly sweet, and fragrant with pineapple—perfectly complementing the freshness of the rolls. For those who prefer a lighter option, fish sauce with chili and garlic is also available. The space at Cơ Sở 4 is casual and comfortable, with fast service and reasonable prices. Portions are generous, making it ideal for sharing. If you want an authentic taste of Đà Nẵng’s culinary culture, Giang Mỹ is definitely worth a visit.

Staff here were super helpful and helped show us how to make the rolls and kept translating using Google translate. 🤣 Take note that it's cash or bank transfer only. No credit cards, so make sure you have cash handy.

They sell entrance tickets with 15,000 vnd / pax but it worth because you can eat salad and desert buffet, my favorite was ice cream and plan cake. We ordered 1 wrap and roll grilled pork, that was the favorite and I think everyone come to eat same dish. 9/10 because tofu with cheese and pork floss was not tasting good

The food was good. Very helpful and nice staff. There are many people but we still feel comfortable. They have buffet counter for sauce and dessert. A lot of options for you to choose. And they have cute hair tie for female customer. The restroom was clean even they were crowded.

Quán Bánh Đúc Nóng cô Nội is a hidden gem in Hanoi, serving up delicious hot cakes made from rice flour and clear lime water. The filling consists of minced lean meat stir-fried with spring onions, wood ear, fried tofu, and more. This savory dish is best enjoyed hot, especially during the cold winter months in Hanoi. The cozy eatery is tucked away in an alley and frequented by locals who appreciate the authentic flavors.
The entrance is marked by red banners, just brave the dark alley and you’ll be rewarded with awesome local cuisine! BÁNH ĐÚC (NÓNG): Rice Cake (Hot) Think porridge but in mochi form. Have only tasted sweet mochi all my life, so this is really interesting to me. When paired with a flavorful savory broth which is oily, the mochi isn’t sticky, just very soft. It works! BÁNH ĐA (TRỘN THẬP CẨM): Rice Paper (Mixed) “Mixed” refers to a bit of every single protein option - all kinds of pork, tofu, and even fried fish. We got the dry version and the sauce was a savory, sour concoction - reminds me of the Bar Chor Mee back home. Soup is served separately and tastes a bit like almond. Was a pretty hearty meal!

My wife suggested me to try this place. It's her childhood place. The bánh đúc tastes delicious, one of the best I've ever had. However, service is slow and a bit messy, you would need to remind or you would be missed. Due to not enough manpower, the table as well as floor were not cleaned.
Nguyen N — Google review
so so. not very tasty but the location's vibe is great. you went through a dark alley with hanoi smell into an opening area, where you found an old lady sitting and glancing to nowhere. then she will serve you banh duc nong. the price is super cheap, only 20k per bowl
Hà D — Google review
If you like porridge, banh duc nong is a glorified version with a more interesting texture of soft mochi in a savory broth. Add the homemade chili oil sauce, and you've got yourself a masterpiece of complex flavors and textures! And for a mere 20k! Logistics: park and enter through P. Le Ngoc Han, walk straight in and take your first right. IG: kay_okay_eat

wow … if you are into porridge this is a treat! order the second bowl when the first one arrives.

Go down the alley, stay right, sit down somewhere and point to the banh duc (a mochi-like rice dish) or really anything on the menu (the bun is delicious and unlike any bun I'd had before). The kind owner has been running this shop for decades and it's always busy during work lunch hours, according to a local I chatted with. I love the flavors and the authenticity; some tour groups come here but you'll be rubbing elbows with locals.

Amazing!!! The woman doesn’t speak any English but there were lots of locals to help us. We had one broth and one fried noodles and it was so delicious!!! Cost us 60,000 (£1.85) and was so worth it!!!!! Inside the broth was fried fish, tofu and these egg balls.

Paris Baguette is a spacious bakery and cafe that originated in Korea and has now expanded to Vietnam. The menu offers a wide variety of baked goods, savory snacks like salads and sandwiches, as well as delicious drinks to complement your pastry. The atmosphere is cozy and not noisy compared to other coffee shops in the area. While some find the drinks average, others praise the delicious cakes and the warm, fresh air inside.

Came here to have some drinks and cake for a pick me up in the afternoon and left angry and stressed out. They had a promotion to get a free cheesecake for every bill spent above 200k. I decided to spend some more to get this deal, and was told that I was not eligible since my purchases had been registered as 2 bills. I asked if they could combine my two bills since they were consecutive orders, and were given really unhelpful attitudes from 2 of the employees. I asked what difference would it make to me how many bills they put my purchases in, since to me it was the same that i spent on one single purchase, and asked them to cancel the two orders to combine them in a single bill, to which they refused. It blew my mind thay they were willing to let a customer walk away angry because of their mistakes, instead of just giving away a mere pastry that the customer was entitled to in the first place.

Too much use of plastic in every thing they sell. It's terrible that large businesses show such little care for the environment. Pastries are not tasty. There is nothing truly Parisian here. No real croissant even. Not able to get a simple black tea here. Toilets not clean and out of paper. Definitely would not return
James G — Google review
The restaurant is quite spacious, but it feels more like a café than a proper bakery. Most of the baked goods are pre-packaged, seemingly intended more for takeaway rather than fresh, eat-in options. From what I observed, the pastries didn’t appear freshly made for dining on the spot. Many customers seemed to use the space more like a café, likely because of the decent seating available. We decided to buy a few croissants to go. The staff were friendly and polite, though their behavior came off as a bit unprofessional, they were casually joking around and playfully hitting each other while handling our order. While it wasn’t a negative experience, and I appreciate coworkers getting along, a more professional attitude would be better in front of customers.

I can deal with getting half a cup of coffee. The worst part was there was NO soap, to wash my hands after the restroom visit! When i asked for soap, emloyees simply looked at me and said "No. Sorry." I asked to use the nearly empty bottle of dish soap by the kitchen sink. I had to add water 💧 to get anything out. I said, "So y'all aren't washing your hands?" They just ignored me. Never again 😒

The bakery "L'Epicerie du Metropole" is located in a colonial hotel dating back to 1901. It features a wide variety of pastries and sweet chocolate that always leave visitors wanting more. The croissants, Croquants, and macarons are some of the bakery's most popular items.
L'Epicerie du Metropole is tucked away beside the Metropole Hotel, along Le Phung Hieu street, and it's not too hard to find. They offer a variety of pastries and sweet chocolates that look very appealing. The menu is extensive and diverse, giving you plenty of options, and the prices are reasonable and fair. Get to savor coffee, indulge in pastries or chocolate, and enjoy the cool autumn breeze of Hanoi – truly wonderful.

I ordered and picked up a millefeuille. 750k vnd for a decent size. (Although they said it was 700k but actually charged my card 750k). But the main problem is that the pastry itself was not flaky as should be but was instead hard as a rock. Absolutely farce of a millefeuille. Filling was tasty. But the pastry itself was pretty lamentable unfortunately.

If you're in the mood for banh xeo and banh beo, head to Mr Bảy Miền Tây. This restaurant is known for its crispy and delicious rice pancake treats, which are made without wheat in their batter. The place is praised for its cleanliness compared to other spots.
This place definitely lives up to its Michelin Guide recommendation! We loved it so much that we visited again to have our last meal in Vietnam here. The Grilled Squid, and Pork with Mint Rice Paper Roll were our favourites. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They seated and served us quite promptly. Pricing is very affordable. The restaurant accepts cash only.
Sugandha S — Google review
Table service was quick, staff spoke good English and place is clean and well ventilated. The famous Banh Xeo was a little underwhelming, since we had high expectations. The texture was a bit chewy(to me the crispy ones are tastier) and the taste a bit bland. It was very oily as well compared to the other Banh Xeo that we tried. Price is reasonable.
Enoch — Google review
Came here because of so many glowing reviews from food bloggers, and it truly lived up to my expectations. As a Vietnamese pancake lover, I was amazed by the authentic texture and flavor. What made it even better was that they taught me the right way to eat it — such a simple but eye-opening detail that made the experience unforgettable. Just note: payment is cash or transfer only.
Diah ( — Google review
Loved it so much my husband and I came back to eat three times. With no end of options in Hanoi it says a lot that we returned as often as we did during our relatively short stay in the city. The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming, and remembered us and our orders. If you don't know how to eat banh xeo they have instructions at each table and the server will also ask if you need directions. The food itself was consistently delicious. I stuck to the seafood banh xeo but my husband tried a few different noodle items and loved them all. You can probably find cheaper places to have a meal (our average bill ranged from 450k - 500k with two drinks, two mains and one "starter" to share between us) but why should you when good food and good people are a guarantee here? I really cannot recommend them enough.
Ceola B — Google review
Suggested by a local, so we decided to try it — and it didn’t disappoint! The pancake was surprisingly good. Best enjoyed wrapped in the rice roll and dipped in the sauce. The seafood soup had a nice, balanced flavor. Overall, everything was really good! Cash only.
Trisha D — Google review
Absolutely amazing. You must eat here. There was like a 15-20 minute wait but it was so worth it and I popped into the mart next door to get some beers while we waited in line (you are allowed to drink in public here). This was so amazing that even when we were full we ordered more because the food was excellent. We got the pork mint skewers, and the beef banh xeo (pancake) AND the pork and shrimp. They were both incredible.
Issy W — Google review
I was really disappointed with this Michelin-rated bánh xèo place in Hà Nội. The food came out cold and bland. The bánh khọt tasted old and hard, like it had been sitting out for a while — definitely not fresh. The bánh xèo was overrated and too oily; the meat was barely warm and mostly just beansprouts. The nem lụi was the worst dish — it tasted undercooked and we couldn’t even finish it. I honestly don’t understand the hype or the long line. The quality doesn’t match the price or the Michelin recognition at all. Definitely won’t be coming back

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Tranquil Books & Coffee is a delightful escape that coffee lovers and bookworms alike should not overlook. This charming local chain boasts several locations throughout the city, each offering its unique ambiance while sharing common features: inviting spaces filled with an extensive collection of English and Vietnamese literature, delectable pastries, and expertly brewed coffee.
If you’re exploring Hanoi’s cafe scene, Tranquil deserves a spot on your list. It’s a cozy, book-filled space that perfectly blends creativity and calm. The entrance can be tricky to find — look for an alleyway across from their bar. I happened to visit on a weekly public event night, which you can join with or without a reservation. I would recommend checking their Instagram for event schedules, and book beforehand since they get crowded later during the night. During events, they only serve non-coffee drinks, cold brews, and alcoholic options. I tried their matcha latte and tea fog, both tasty and fairly priced. Im in love with their interior. Warm lighting, wooden shelves, and an entire wall of books that makes the space feel like a haven for readers and music lovers alike. Overall, great ambience, friendly vibe, and perfect for anyone who loves a mix of coffee, culture, and creativity.

This place stood out to me on Google maps when I was finding my location in the area. I was imagining it much differently in my mind as more spacious and larger but it’s definitely more compact and less seating area than I thought. The inside is a bit cold with a/c on blast while outdoors it’s possible people smoke. You must take your shoes off on the upper floor and it has a room with some table and a couch and another balcony like seating area where you sit on the floor or a more spacious seat that was already occupied. Def yummy goodies and drinks here and the inspiring display of books and dark wood combo. Overall smaller than expected and could not feel totally at ease. Outside space would be better if they didn’t allow smoking. Staff come by to offer water now and again which is nice.

A cozy and aesthetic book café with a great atmosphere — perfect spot to impress your girlfriend 😉 Sure, sipping coffee on those plastic stools by the street is classic Hanoi, but when it’s hot out, this kind of chill, air-conditioned vibe is unbeatable. Great value for money, too. If you're looking for a relaxing escape with good coffee and ambiance, definitely check this place out!

Delicious coffee and a lovely vibe. The whole café is decorated with Beatles memorabilia, with good music and mood lighting. The service can be a touch slow for food as it’s just one person working, but I don’t mind that much.

There are a few stores in the old town area, make sure u are heading to the one u’d like to. This is a smaller one I think which is next to the Long Waits Jazz Bar. It’s Cozy and comfortable, and has 2 floors which upper floor is like an attic one, a bit squeeze. The brunt cheese cake tastes good. Overall, the vibe is chill at which u can enjoy the afternoon.

Everything we had was delicious! Came twice in our trip and both times excellent. The creme caramel had a good texture and flavour. Not too eggy. All the other dishes were excellent too cannot fault. They are definitely on the sweeter side though.

Small "dessert" shop which serves caramel and yogurt with various combination if fruits. I love yogurt and I was surprised that these kinds of shops are almost everywhere in Hanoi streets.

We were in Vietnam for 3.5 weeks and found this place on our first day in Hanoi. We ended up eating there every single day, sometimes twice a day! Their portion sizes are perfect and we haven’t found another dessert place in all of Vietnam that comes even close. We had the crème caramel and sticky rice with icecream. TO DIE FOR!! So well priced too, only 70,000VND for 2 people

A nice dessert spot with a decent amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. Parking a scooter can be a bit of a hassle, as there's only a small corner available for it. However, the polite and youthful staff, along with the quick service, help make up for that inconvenience. Personally, I would’ve liked the dessert to be a bit sweeter, or for them to add ice for us instead of having to do it ourselves, but it’s not a big issue. The portion sizes are quite generous for the price, and the menu offers a wide variety of options. Another bonus is that the staff can speak English. While not fluent, it’s good enough to explain the dishes and help with ordering, which makes the experience smoother.

Super delicious caramel (the traditional one). Mango sweet soup is very tasty

My friend recommended this place for pudding, so we have to go and check it out for ourselves. After we sat, we ordered a pudding each. I have to say, instant shocked! The pudding was so good that we had to order a second round. If you love creme brulee, this is a must try. This pudding is a vietnamese version and we love it.

Pablo Cheesetart in Hanoi is a popular spot for cake lovers, known for its delicious cakes and stylish decor. The three-story space features chic wooden flooring, white walls adorned with framed pictures, and tall glass windows offering views of the bustling streets outside. The star of the menu is the cheese tart, which is large enough to satisfy 4-5 people.
The price is a bit high for a tiny piece of cheesecake, but stick worth it. There isn’t a lot of place to sit in - just a few tables.

3,5 stars Stopped by here twice. The first time I had the freshly baked cheese tart and the crème brûlée & pandan leaf matcha. Both were very tasty. The tart: The crust was flaky and the filling was not too sweet. The filling was actually not sweet at all. You could really taste the cheese. The matcha: It tasted very much like pandan leaf. I could not taste any matcha at all. I liked the drink. But it was so incredibly sugary that I could not finish it. The second time I ordered the premium cheese cake. I did not enjoy it very much. The entire middle of my slice was ice cold. It was like they had taken it out of the freezer and it had not fully defrosted yet. Such a shame. I also ordered a coconut coffee, which was very tasty.
So-An S — Google review
Must say I really enjoyed the coconut coffee from Pablo Cheesetart. The staff were friendly and all happy, great service and made a great coffee. The shop was very clean and inviting. The perfect drink to get me going and to chill me down at the same time.
John W — Google review
Guys, the tarts here were terrible. They look good on photo but the cheese was clumpy and almost completely hard. The crust was stale and hard. The tarts came cold, not sure if that's how it's supposed to be but I've had Pablo in many countries and it was never this bad. All 3 of the tarts were like this. We ate half of the original flavour and cut into the others, thinking they might be better than the first one. We tried to exchange them for better ones because we were so disappointed, and explained that they were hard, stale and dry. The staff took the relatively untouched chocolate one in their palm and squeezed it along the crust, and said that this is how they are. The cafe was very clean and orderly. The furniture was comfortable. Maybe come here and buy something aside from the cheesetarts.

We were delighted when we spotted a Pablo near our hotel as we love their cheese tarts. We dined in yesterday and bought takeaway today. The cheese tarts are soft with a crumbly base. Quality is as good as what’s in Japan. The service staff are welcoming, friendly and informative. There are 3 levels so we opted to sit at the second level to enjoy the view and warmth. The whole restaurant has a nice and comforting atmosphere. Nice to hang out at on a cold rainy day.

Famous cheese tart brand. Good cake quality. Beverage menu price range is around 40-50K. They use mugs and glasses if you dine in, instead of using single used plastic containers, one point plus. Not so busy during day time and weekday but weekend, kinda busy in the big room, family with children, friends gathering so it’s really annoying, disturbing. Their sofas are really comfy.
An H — Google review
The place is big! 3 floors and mostly empty during the day. They sell a lot of cheese based foods. I thought the cheesecake was okay. The cheese was good but the crust was a little soggy and thin. I prefer something crispy and flaky. The cheesecake is also served cold. Warming it up would have brought it up another level. The cheesecake smoothie was really good. Dang! That brought the review from a 3/5 to a 4/5. The smoothie is sweet, creamy and cold. I haven't had a cheese smoothie before, but I like it!

Artemis Pastry & Coffee Shop offers divine pastries and lattes in an atmosphere that is both cool and inviting. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the space is very large.
Superb both cakes are amazing, njce balance of sweet and sour. Strawberry and Passion Fruit were fresh. My drink was also great, not to sweet. Matcha drink was awesome too, enough bitterness and sweetness, either was too much. Location: Nice atmosphere, comfortable chairs, very clean place, volume of the music is alright, don't bother me, still be able to talk with my girlfriend. Steats were great, no wholes and not dirty, I checked after reading a comment about it. 😁 Prob6they fixed the issue after the feedback from 11 months ago. 👍🏻 Service: Cashier was helpful even mentioned the current discounted offers. We got our order within 2-3 minutes. Later oo one server even came to everyone to ask about our satisfaction. He was very polite. Price: It's alright fir the quality but for most Vietnamese this is more expensive. Drinks 65k VND other places the matcha with cheese cream is around 40-55k. Cakes are above 100k, our choices were 115k each. So it was 360k in total.

A modern building in Hanoi, Artemis Café feels more like stepping into a boutique spa than a coffee shop — spotlessly clean, minimalist, and calming. We visited in the afternoon, and while the space itself was pleasantly quiet, it had clearly found its way onto the local influencers’ radar: nearly every table seemed occupied by someone staging the perfect photo shoot. It made for a slightly amusing backdrop, but didn’t detract from the overall experience. The staff were polite and friendly, though service was simple and unobtrusive rather than memorably warm. The real highlight, however, was the cakes — beautifully crafted, both visually and texturally, with vivid colors and delicate, well-balanced flavors. Each dessert felt carefully designed, not only for appearance but for genuine taste. The coffee was also very good — well-prepared and smooth, a strong companion to the desserts. Pricing is fair for the quality and the setting, aligning well with what you’d expect from a contemporary café experience. A small but important note for travelers: they do not accept international credit cards. Local cash or domestic payment apps are required, so it’s worth coming prepared. Overall, Artemis Café is a lovely, quiet stop if you’re looking for a clean, stylish place to enjoy excellent cakes and coffee. It’s not a must-visit destination in itself, but if you find yourself nearby — or need a break from Hanoi’s energy — it’s a refreshing little haven worth enjoying.

I ordered the Tropical Coconut. It was delicious; not too sweet for my liking and the pineapple and coconut mixed with the mousse were good combi, bringing out a hint of sourness and sweetness. Awesome! Staff were friendly and served you well. Most importantly I love the ambience, it’s super cosy, clean and has an elegant feel for comfort. It’s so pleasant to the eyes

Could this be THE TOP Pastry Cafe in a city setting? Seriously, I wanna come here everyday! The Oak Matcha Latte is so creamy and rich without bitter. It’s a light dessert in itself. The lighting is so perfect for reflection and, I think, “Life is Good”. Pricing is really “affordable” for what you get, considering regular coffee is the same price anywhere else.

Only If you like a so so cafe with bland decorations and ok cakes. ( it was filled with local pretty girls influencer wannabes spending hours in this cafe making Selfies & posting on Instagram) Their best seller was the passion fruit mango thing (refer picture) and it was ok. Not too sweet not too sour . Overall and ok cafe spot (spent 565K for 2 desserts and 3 drinks) if you are tired of walking around the French Quarter in Hanoi.

Ordered a matcha macchiato and a passion fruit tart thing, I like my matcha so this was a nice milky creamy gift of matcha, The passion fruit was lovely. the staff Spoke a tiny bit of English which helped and they were really nice, total price came up to 180k vnd. a tiny bit expensive compared to local places but still worth visiting.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Cửa Hàng Bánh Gia Trịnh is a charming family-run bakery that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over 65 years. This quaint spot offers an impressive array of traditional Vietnamese pastries, including their renowned green bean fried cakes and delectable mooncakes. The owner, who speaks excellent English, warmly welcomes guests and is eager to share recommendations about the menu.
Stumbled accidentally upon this traditional Vietnamese treat shop. Service staff was friendly and patiently introduced the cakes to us. We liked all that we bought... Except for the pineapple, which was not suitable for our taste buds.

Don’t even remember how I stumbled upon this place (I’d had it saved for over a year), but finally made it here and I’m so glad I did! Beautiful little family bakery, with a kind owner who speaks incredible English and is happy to explain everything and give recommendations, and of course, it doesn’t hurt that the pastries/sesame balls/cakes taste phenomenal! Can’t wait to come back!

I decided to try this place based on the reviews and because it's literally right outside of my apartment here. Their stuff is really good but the customer service is why I'm giving it 3 stars. The girl who helped me (or lack there of) was not very friendly at all. She made me feel like I was bothering her from the moment I walked in, which almost made me leave without buying anything at all. It's good, but based off of this interaction, I would never go back in.

One of the most traditional bakery in Hanoi. Their green bean fried cake is exceptional (the meat version is great too). Excellent service!

Not as freshly fried & yummy like I used to eat 15 years ago. The oil was so old that it immerse the texture & flours of Bánh rán tròn ‘sweet fried cake’ creating greasy flavours in your mouth and dispel the green been centre and the cripsy skin. Unfortunately, since then I no longer miss this cake.

The bakery has a bad service attitude. I asked what this cake base is and the owner replied: You don't know what it is by looking at it? The cakes here are not delicious, and the attitude is disrespectful to customers.

(Translated by Google) Pillow bread and round cream puffs (in the past, I also liked to eat cold cheese birthday cakes) will always have a special place in my heart. Not only has the quality of these two types not changed over the years, but the prices are always very reasonable. While the ingredients have doubled or tripled, but in nearly 10 years, pillow cakes have only increased by 5k, cream puffs have kept the same price. No matter how much you eat, I bet everyone will be surprised with the quality of banh chung at Bui Cong Trung. A small tip is to keep the ice cream sundae in the freezer until it's hot. Take 1-2 pieces and eat it for a delicious treat. I have been to Cafe Runam twice, and it is one of my favorite coffee places in Hanoi. Yes, it comes with a price tag, but the location, the vibe, the food, and the service are absolutely worth it! I was in Hanoi for seven days and I went here for the days immediately after breakfast. they say that they open at seven but if they’re inside they have no problem selling you what they already have ready which is amazing and extremely hospitable. I have had three full baguettes Probably a dozen of these chocolate filled croissant rolls. They are so amazing and they have these other treats. That’s like a cream cheese raspberry and blueberry and strawberry croissant are so amazing too. I probably had a dozen of those. The name of the bistro, Bánh Xèo Tôm Nhảy Thanh Sang, originates from the cooking process where rice batter is poured into a hot skillet, creating a loud sizzling sound. Located in Hanoi, this hidden gem offers a breath of fresh air to visitors. Despite its closing time approaching, the warm welcome from the owner and his demonstration on how to wrap the delicious and fresh-tasting pancakes left a lasting impression.
A hidden gem! This place is hard to find. You have to take the stairs off the alley. Generous portion with, an awesome combination of crispy and flaky Banh Xeo, with a generous amount of fresh herbs and vegetables. I shared a table with a local who showed me how to properly prepare and eat it. Amazing! This is one of the foods that you must try in Hanoi. The place is very small, with limited tables. Go early otherwise they might sell out. For 1 set of shrimp and a Coke for only 75K.

As a tourist, do you follow guide books ❓ I tend not to because, many years ago, I traveled to Malta 🇲🇹 with my guide book. And there I met a girl who worked for another guide book. She was in charge of updating that book for the following edition. And she explained to me how it worked: out of 11 restaurants (I think) already in the guide book, she had to visit 3 to make sure they were still ok, she had to eliminate 2 and add 2 new ones. The rest would remain unchanged and not verified. All this based on her personal criteria and that was all. 😳 Needless to say that the info you can find in that guide book can be outdated and inaccurate, to say the least! 🙄 Luckily, in Hanoi 🇻🇳, we didn't need to rely on guide books and we were able to escape tourist traps thanks to my brother-in-law, the local of the family. 🙏 He brought us to Bánh Xèo Tôm Nhảy Thanh Sang to eat Nem Lụi and Bánh xèo for what probably was one of my favorite meals in Vietnam 🇻🇳. Everything was so so delicious. I especially loved Nem Lụi (charcoal grilled lemongrass pork skewers 🍢 that are eaten rolled in rice paper)... but I would have been happy with just Bánh xèo (Vietnamese savory pancakes) too! 🤩 Now, if you don't know the place, it's kind of hard to find as you need to reach the first floor of an old building to find the restaurant, which, as (almost) always in Vietnam, didn't stand out for its coziness (that's an euphemism 😅). The service was kinda slow but that gave us some more time to enjoy the amazing food. Oh, and I almost forgot: that meal was VND82K each: less than €3! 🥳 Quality & taste: 10/10 Quantities: 10/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Originality: 8/10 Ratio price / quality: 10/10 Service: 6/10 How I felt afterwards: 9/10

We ate at this place a few times during our stay in Hanoi because the food is so delicious! We noticed it from the street because it was very busy. Both times we had a short wait for a table. It’s a bit tricky to find as it’s in the second level so you have to follow the signs. We ordered the shrimp and beef bahn xeo and the shrimp was by far our favourite. We also loved the lemongrass skewers but sadly they had run out on our last visit. If you haven’t had banh xeo it’s a fried egg pancake (very crispy) with shrimp or other meat on top. It comes with scissors and you cut it up and then you make rolls with rice paper, greens, green papaya and sprouts. Just typing this in makes me hungry :). Highly recommend this yummy gem! It’s helpful to note that. “Set” has two cakes and is intended for one person. You can see from the photos that the greens they show are so abundant!

Agree with all the rest of reviews. It is a meal worth detouring for. That pork skewers was one of the best I've had here. The sauces enhanced the flavour of it all.

Absolutely wonderful family run restaurant. 100,000 dong for two pork banh xeo and 5 nem lui (grilled lemongrass pork). Very filling. Lots of veggies and herbs. Thank you for the great meal.

Brought here by locals. Cosy/tight seating. The pancakes were quite delicious. Preparing the grill pork wrap a bit of a learned skill but was yummy as well. Service was quick and efficient.

Hands down the best food experience during our time in Vietnam. Definitely not a touristy place to eat. I’m reluctant to post a review for fear of too many visitors discovering this place! But we ate here based on reviews and were not disappointed. A genuine local eating experience that’s worth discovering.

Tasty. As the girl raised at Quy Nhon, this is quite authentic, however it is missed the peanut sauce. If you go alone, you can try the one I had, it isn’t the pancake but tasty. The staff is quite slow and often forgot what you asked like pepper.

A very cute bakery famous for its pastries' quality; there are many types of pastries that all look good and taste good; there are only 2 seats here so it's mostly suitable for takeaway or online order

Very nice place! We stopped here on our way to visit the Mausoleum and refreshed with some ice tea ✨ The drinks were freshly prepared and amazingly delicious, would definitely go again ☺️ 🍹

I stopped in here to try some desserts with a friend. It my first experience with the salted egg bread - I wasn’t sure whether to expect something savory or sweet, but I’d say this definitely favors the side of savory. It wasn’t my favorite snack in Hanoi, but it’s clear that the locals love it so it’s worth a try if you’re visiting. The tiramisu was good but will just barely scratch the itch if you’re craving tiramisu - it was predominantly cream-based without mascarpone (to my taste buds), and had no Kahlua influence, so it favors chocolate-cream notes rather than a true coffee-chocolate-cheese flavor. The shop has a bit of seating but seems to be most popular for takeout. Try the salted egg bread if you get a chance! It will be a brand new flavor for your taste buds, especially if you’re visiting from a western country.

If you are coming down to work/study, head upstairs on the 3rd floor, a lot more room than what you might anticipate. Bac xiu here is a bit more bean based than milky, lemon with honey tea was, unfortunately too bland which is a bit of a shame. Oreo was lovely, small sized croissants.

Soiebyfours is a pastry shop that offers a variety of delightful treats. Their cappuccino is light and has a mild aftertaste, while the detox drink is refreshing but slightly too sweet. The iced tea with strawberry and guava flavor is highly recommended. The Genial dessert, with its rich chocolate mousse and delicious cookie base, is not overpoweringly sweet. However, the Nuage dessert with raspberry mousse comes highly recommended by a friend.
Met by polite staff they offered more than enough insight to make a selection to my taste preferences. Desserts were great, Angeletta, a Passion and lychee fruit iced tea and a couple of the Nuage cheesecakes (take away) as thank you gifts. Presentation was as flawless as photos. Taste was bold but not too sweet or strong. Textures of cake layers and fondant icing were perfect compliments to one another. Drink was equally as impressive and had the flavors of a sophisticated cocktail that would be a signature drink on any fine dining menu. Well worth the stop when in Hanoi.

Beautiful cafe, instagram-worthy desserts and fruit teas. Tried their chcolate mousse and passionfruit & raspberry fruit tea. It was awesome!

I fell in love instantly with their pastry as soon as the first bite. The delicate elegance theme in baking and decorating is everything. Drinks need a bit of improvement but overall it’s average good. They change the decorations occasionally, artistry space and friendly staffs.

What a gorgeous pastry shop. Amazing desserts (price on the more premium side). Great service, great vibes. Highly recommend for a simple coffee catchup or quick work cafe.
Yen T — Google review
The pastries are amazing, I tried 2 of them and I love both. I like their big entremets as I have ordered quite a few times for special occasion. The flavour is well-balanced, a great combination of texture. However, they are really petite and so on a pricey end of the spectrum. I could give them 5* just for good pastries, cause on the other than, their drinks aren’t that good. Idk it just doesn’t worth the money as everything is the same as a street food/cheap cheap style cafe. Thus, the cashier and staffs at the counter aren’t really helpful. They were giggling at me when I try to ask them to help me with the order as it is the first time I went to this place. So 3/5 in general!
Lynn N — Google review
Petite, pricey, pretty cakes that are actually legit. This applies to chocolate mousse and tiramisu. Updating the review after trying mousse cakes—they were not good. I wish the cakes were less decorative (like I am hesitant to eat glitter on food, and I don’t need my tiramisu to be glittery pink…) although I appreciate the artistry.
Djung K — Google review
Coffee - I ordered a Cappucino, it was light on the tongue, not too strong of an after taste, large portion (pictured). Would recommend. Friends had the Detox (green) and Iced tea (strawberry and guava), the detox was nice, a bit too sweet, the iced tea was very good and I recommend it. Genial (chocolate mousse) - rich in chocolate, but not too sweet nor over-powering, the cookie base was very nice. However, my friend recommend the Nuage (rasbery mousse). Tiramisu Éclair - the choux was nice, not to crumbly, however, the cream only had a mild taste, I could not taste the coffee in the cream (maybe because I had the cappuccino).

This place wowed my wife with its beautiful display and storefront. The staff was very helpful in explaining the drinks and the artfully crafted desserts. La Salsa Tapas Bar & Restaurant is a Mexican chain that offers a variety of options at its salsa bar. The tapas bar is a great spot to meet friends for pre-dinner snacks and cocktails, while the restaurant on the second floor serves classic French cuisine. The cozy restaurant has an old-school Spanish vibe with friendly and professional staff. The food, including the delicious chicken Paella, is highly recommended. Additionally, the place offers fine wines and clean facilities for a pleasant dining experience.
The food here is amazing 😍 I went at lunch time. The place was empty but I had the lunch time offer of paella, salad and a tea or coffee for about 150k. I had the black paella and it was beautiful.
Hannah G — Google review
We visited La Salsa for dinner yesterday. Firstly, the restaurant is upstairs, the kitchen and washroom (at the bottom of the stairs) is on the ground floor. The restaurant is cosy, with black & red checked tablecloths, a chalk board with the tapas menu and framed Spanish-style art. It has an old school kind of Spanish restaurant vibe which makes sense having been established since 1999. Everyone at the restaurant is very friendly and professional. I was expecting more vegetarian dishes as I’ve been to many tapas restaurants and never struggled to find options. We decided to order patatas bravas, onion rings, meatballs (for my boyfriend) and a vegetable paella. It would be nice to see a few more inspiring vegetable based small plates- how about cheese croquettes as well as ham, a white bean & tomato stew or grilled aubergine? We enjoyed our smooth bottle of Spanish red wine. Would have loved the bread to come with a small bowl of olive oil/balsamic. We asked but the waiter didn’t understand our request. Altogether it was pleasant but not amongst our favourites in Hanoi.

Try chicken Paella, the Spanish rice dish, which is the Catalonian style. The staff are friendly and the bathroom is very clean.

It was amazing. Great food for reasonable pricing. It was really quiet when we were there, an undiscovered gem perhaps. Started with the pork ribs tapas, wasn't that good, thought we gonna have a bad meal. Tried the Duck L'orange next. The sauce was delicious, meat was soft and juicy. Pretty good dish. The Veal with Mushroom Sauce was what took our breath away. Cream rich mushroom sauce on top of Medium Rare Veal. Splendid meal. We followed that with a Paella, a little too salty for our taste, but it's great nonetheless. The tapas didn't really wow us though, the again we only tried one, will definitely try others. Will be really soon.

Squid paella is too wet with overcook seafood. Salad tastes bitter with very little dressing. Waitress is nice and polite. But one waiter is very unhelpful. When I ask him about the meaning of some Vietnamese words he just said "I don't know" and go away.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience in Vietnam, look no further than "Bánh Mì Bơ Nướng Mật Ong." This scrumptious dish combines the classic Vietnamese baguette with a rich and buttery spread, topped off with a drizzle of honey that adds just the right amount of sweetness. The result is an irresistible treat that's both crispy on the outside and soft within. Many travelers rave about its affordability and incredible taste, often returning for seconds or even thirds!
The dine in experience was not too great, as the space is really narrow and has low capacity. But the food is top notch. A combination of simple ingredients, yet so satisfying in the end result. I'd suggest taking out instead though. Overall a great street food to have.
