Park
Thong Nhat Park, situated in the heart of Hanoi, is a sprawling green oasis known as the "green lung" of the city. Spanning 50 hectares and bordered by four main streets, it features the serene Bay Mau Lake at its center. The park offers a tranquil atmosphere for relaxation and various recreational activities such as outdoor education, group gatherings, and fairs.
Amazing to stumble across this big public park. Found many locals playing sports, jogging, and walking their dogs. Interestingly, this looks and feels very much like Singapore in the 1980s. A very nice place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Keith C — Google review
Thong Nhat Park (also known as Reunification Park) is one of the largest and most iconic green spaces in Hanoi. Located in the heart of the city, near major roads like Le Duan and Dai Co Viet, it serves as a refreshing escape for both locals and tourists. What makes Thong Nhat Park special is its blend of natural beauty and cultural significance. The park features a large lake named Bay Mau, where visitors can rent paddle boats or enjoy peaceful walks along the shaded paths. There are also wide lawns, tree-lined avenues, and flower gardens that make it a perfect place for picnics, jogging, or simply relaxing. Families often bring their children here to enjoy the playgrounds or take part in community events. In the early morning and evening, the park becomes lively with locals practicing tai chi, dancing, or exercising. Although some areas of the park could benefit from better maintenance and more modern facilities, the overall atmosphere is serene and welcoming. Recent efforts to renovate certain parts have made it even more attractive and accessible.
Hoàng N — Google review
healing for the soul, so much oxygen for a crowded place like hanoi it feels like an escape, totally suggest the đạp vịt (duck cycling on the lake?), food not overpriced (surprisingly), the amount of greeneries is overwhelmingly soothing
Harley D — Google review
A nice flat park to walk or exercise in. On Saturday there seems to be Karaoke at the lakeside cafes. Other reviewers said that you pay to enter but you don't. The payment is for parking motorcycles. Lots of cafes, popup clothing shops, a children's railway. Motorised children's play vehicles just outside the park. Some momentary relief from the constant traffic and beeping.
David R — Google review
Nice quiet park for practice, walk, martial art, street workout... Is huge, so enough space
Michu ( — Google review
This was one of the better parks I have visited in Hanoi. Spacious, interesting, and beautiful. As an Australian, it was particularly nice to see a long stand of eucalyptus trees in the park. The smell of home...
Benno S — Google review
Great big park with lots of people exercising, running. Also some small Places to get some refreshments
Gilberto S — Google review
Just an amazing park for a relaxing morning, afternoon or evening. Locals and foreigners visit for recreational and social reasons. There is a great trail around the lake with many places to sit and enjoy the ambience of nature. As well, there are several lakeside cafes. Public toilets provided.

Zoo
Park
Thu Le Zoo, also known as Thu Le Park, is a popular urban zoo located in Hanoi. It is situated in Thu Le village, an ancient village with historical significance dating back to the Ly Dynasty. The park features a large lake and offers amusement rides, boating, and walking paths for visitors to enjoy. Established in 1977 and covering about 20 hectares of land, it houses nearly 600 animals from 95 different species.
Nice place. Not much animals are there. 1 time should be visit. Many games for kids
Manish R — Google review
This city park appears to be more of an amusement park than a serious zoo with conservation and the welfare of the animals as the main priority. To be honest, I missed most of the animals and just concentrated on the island in the centre of the boating lake. Some visitors were feeding the monkeys through the wire netting. It's clearly a big favourite with young families at the weekend, and although some people were teasing the animals, most were generally respectful, and the children were just curious. Pricing for children is by height (!), great if your kids are late developers. I was charged 50,000VND as a foreign tourist.
Sarah A — Google review
The animals in the park seem quite suppressed, pacing around in confined spaces. There is very little shade throughout the park, so it’s recommended to bring your own water and sun protection. There are small vendors throughout the park selling snacks, drinks, and paid amusement rides—whether or not to spend on them depends on your personal preference.
胖胖豬 — Google review
The park does seem to be more of an amusement park then a zoo. The animals seem to come second to the rides, prizes and stalls. The bear especially was overheated and seemed confused. If the park was maintained better and focused of conservation it would be a lot better.
Haviland — Google review
The worst zoo I have ever seen. Cages are too small and dirty. Rats are everywhere. Animals were clearly distressed, many were shaking their heads and pacing anxiously. Not one looked animated and comfortable. There was no stimulus in any of the cages e.g no climbing facilities for monkeys. I felt close to tears.
Ursula B — Google review
Terrible… it is no zoo but kids park with lots of rides. Those few animals there jas limited and not nice place, except the elephant, they seemed to have space for some dignity. So kids park yes, not a zoo. If you can choose, go to zoo in Saigon.
Kalkared — Google review
Even during the weekend, few people visit the zoo. My experience was terrible — it was too hot and there was limited shade.
Sai Z — Google review
I am not sure how to describe my experience in Ha Noi Zoo. First I would like to note that I am a big lover of animals and I have visited many Zoo and Aquarium all around the world. The best ones being in Bali, where animals are alll free and they are living like in private resort. So with the things I saw in my travels, it is very hard to give review for Ha Noi Zoo. The price is very cheap, only 50,000 VDN per person. The stuff is very nice, kind and they welcomed me and my boyfriend very warmly. There is a lot of activities for small kids, which is amazing for families that come with children! The only thing I am sad about is the animals. They look sad, depressed, like they already said "Goodbye" to their freedom. They are locked up in small cages that are not suitable for them. They have no place to move, explore and personally I don't think they adapted their living space to what they should have in nature. Some of the animals are missing fur and feathers. To me, it was very sad to visit this Zoo. To resume, the stuff is very nice and polite, there is a lot of rides and fun things for children to do, but the animals look like they are suffering. At least, in my personal opinion.

Park
Cau Giay Park is located in the city of Hanoi, Vietnam and considered to be one of the most attractive public green spaces for children. It is a well-maintained recreation area with modern construction and many amenities such as lakes, ecological areas, fitness facilities and special games for kids. The amusement zone attached to the park makes it a popular destination for families.
Just renovated with a large playground for kids. Great outdoor area for children and family.
Thuy H — Google review
It's a little small but it's a nice and clean decent park surrounded by many buildings.
Leia — Google review
The trails surrounding the lake are good for walking or running. It is suitable for children to play in the playground. But where the water was stagnant, the fish was dead and smelled. The visit a few days ago was under construction.
Slaa S — Google review
A pity we wasn't aware of the fact that the park is undergoing a major revamp so when we got there by grab, we had to turn around. Though I can't wait to see the park at its completion. I could see a lot of work going into the project. A thumbs up to the vietnamese government! But sadly we noticed dying fish in the pond. Sad to witness this all across Hanoi.
Marlene M — Google review
This space is very good for children. Anout the game, It includes in 3 area: one for babe( under 5 years old), one for kid ( up 5 years old) and one for adult. Besides, there are many kind of flowers in there. Look so beatiful! This park is good for who wanted to exercise too. The air is fresh.... Summary, Cau Giay park is one of good choice for F5 your week.
Hoai T — Google review
yessir childhood park but terrible conditions so im balancing but present over nostalgia so gotta gove it a low star rating
Dih D — Google review
Large, quiet, green color. Good for relax with kids or alone. Easy parking. But poor service due to state bureaucracy investment. You should bring your own drinks and food rather than buy here. Very cheap entrance ticket.
Thuy X — Google review
Cau Giay Park is a large green space in the district, but my recent visit was disappointing due to its current state. The Downsides: · Under Construction: The park is clearly a work in progress. You'll encounter construction materials, blocked-off areas, and the accompanying noise, which really detracts from the peacefulness you expect from a park. · Not Clean: The ongoing work likely contributes to this, but the park is not well-kept. There's litter in places, and the general feeling is a bit unkempt. · Too Much Stone, Not Enough Grass: This was the biggest letdown. The balance is off. There are extensive stone pathways and paved plazas that make it feel more like a square than a park. I found myself wishing for more soft, open grass fields to sit or play on, but they are scarce. The Positives: Its main advantage is itslarge size, offering a spacious area for people to walk around. It's a place you might go for a long, uninterrupted stroll on the paths. Verdict: As it is now,Cau Giay Park feels more like a public square than a relaxing green oasis. It might be worth a visit if you live nearby and just need a large, open space to walk through. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a relaxing picnic, a family outing where kids can run on grass, or for anyone seeking a tranquil escape from the city. Perhaps it will improve once the construction is complete.

The Indira Gandhi Park in Hanoi is a large and well-maintained park with jogging paths, geometrical flower beds, and a bust of Indira Gandhi. It is a popular place for exercise and relaxation, especially in the morning, and gets crowded around 07:00 a.m.
Spacious, especially in such a crowded area. Lots of trees and a big lake with paths to walk. Highly recommend for those looking for an urban escape during lunchtime or office hours.
Quang Đ — Google review
A recommendable place with tranquilty that located in the heart of the populated, burstling city. Such a refreshment. Cons: not so many trees as I expected
Pham H — Google review
Beautiful place. Love to walk around the lake. Plenty of good coffee shops nearby. People are always friendly, lots of things to do if you've got the time to enjoy it.
King B — Google review
It's a park. Good for romantic walks around the lake. Many benches. Good for exercise/running.

Known as Thanh Cong Lake - Nice place for physical exercise and running with beautiful lake, fresh trees, good paths.

Really nice park. It's small but the walking path is nice, and the gardening is nice too.
Ayesh K — Google review
Perfect for a run when the air quality index is suitable ~100 or lower. I often go run at 7 p.m when there are not many vehicles moving around on the streets nearby.

Hoàn Kiếm Lake in Hanoi is steeped in legend and history. It's associated with the tale of Emperor Le Loi, who returned a magical sword to a Golden Turtle God after defeating invaders. The lake is home to the ancient Great-Grandfather Turtle and features remarkable architectural landmarks like the hundred-year-old Turtle Tower, Ngoc Son temple, and the vibrant red The Huc bridge.
A very nice outdoor area especially on Sunday as it was isolated from cars. People can walk and jog around the lake and in very nice weather. So lovely to see locals interacting with their loved ones.
Dian O — Google review
We visited this lake as part of a city tour. The stories told by our guide were certainly more interesting than the surrounding scenery and attractions. It's definitely a must-see if you're staying in Hanoi.
Sakban R — Google review
Located at the heart i.e old part of Hanoi near old quarters. In English it is known as lake of returned sword It’s one of the most famous tourist spot for visitors and hangout spot for locals The circumference of lake is paved for joggers. At evening lot of crowd gather at square near lake to enjoy the serene atmosphere with local music bands /individuals playing music. There are lot of vendors selling food to tourist No ticket required to visit here. There is a famous temple located at the islet in the lake reached via wooden bridge that lighted from evening. The lake is habitat to giant turtles ,few bodies of turtles are preserved and displayed in the temple. There is also a old tower at midst of lake. A must visit place in Hanoi.

Second time to visit Hanoi, and the Hoan Kiem lake areas are still my top choice to stay in. I really love the ambiance, especially in the morning and nights, looking at locals exercising or even dancing together!
Clarissa L — Google review
Such a magic place to visit, perfect for a casual walk after a feed or even to get some exercise in. Seeing the locals exercise around the lake gives you a feeling of happiness and calm. It's truely beautiful ✨️❤️
JohnnieVintage — Google review
To have this lake in the middle of Hanoi is such a respite from the hustle bustle of the old quarters. It's breezy and calm, and seems to absorb all the frenzy within it. Love sitting by the lake on cloudy morning or breezy evenings and chewing away on my banh mi. Highly recommend to stay close the lake, preferably with lake facing views from hotels when visiting as a tourist.
Shreya K — Google review
This is a great site to go for a walk and see some of Hanoi. There are other sites nearby this lake, as well as a plethora of places to eat and drink.

Hoan Kiem Lake is the calm heart of Hanoi — a beautiful place to walk, relax, and enjoy the city’s atmosphere. Surrounded by trees, cafés, and local life, it’s especially charming in the evening when the lights reflect on the water. Peaceful, scenic, and a must-see in the Old Quarter.

Công Viên Nghĩa Đô is a family-friendly park with various play equipment, including a thrilling zip-line that kids adore. The park also offers an entertaining water puppet show suitable for all ages. Visitors can explore the charming Old Quarter with its winding streets. Motorbike parking is conveniently located at the entrance gate, and entry to the park is free after purchasing a vehicle ticket. The park features green trees but may feel narrow and lacking ventilation.

(Translated by Google) My first time going to Nghia Do park. I walked to the park, entering the gate did not cost me a ticket to visit the park. There is a place to park my motorbike on the right side of the gate. It's right next to the park, I don't know how much it costs. The park is also relatively large, airy, and has a lot of shade from trees, which is quite pleasing to the eye. The main road in the park is the road surrounding the lake, about 1km. In addition, there will be small branches around the edge of the lake, but not too many. The lake is large, airy and quite cool, but the lake is a bit dirty because there are many dead fish along some corners and sometimes there is trash. Even though fishing is prohibited, I still see many people placing fishing rods. Fortunately, the water smell is not overpowering. Looking around, I see that in the past, the park also had shops selling drinks and toys for children, and there was also an amusement park selling tickets, but now most of them are old and empty. There is only 1 small area left for children to play and 1 small water bar. It's quite cool inside the park so I saw quite a few people coming here to lie down on the benches. In the park, there is a toilet area right from the entrance gate, opposite a red-roofed house with many pigeons perched on it. When walking or jogging, please pay attention to the path because there are many bricks that are pushed out of place, and when it rains, there is a lot of water stagnant there, making it easy to trip and get dirty. I think if the park were renovated and taken better care of, it would be ok, a place to comfortably exercise and breathe fresh air. Well, today I went around noon so there were very few people.

My family prepared snacks and took a lunch break at Nghia Do park. Here the space is clean and airy, with lots of green trees and toys for children to experience. There is also a small path around the park for pedestrians to exercise. Preschools also often register to organize experiences for children here. Admission is free of charge. Have fun, the children are very happy to come here. The location is easy to find and the bus stop is right at the park gate. The most special thing is that opposite the main park gate is the Museum of Ethnology. An extremely large museum that shows the cultural and lifestyle costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups... If you visit Nghia Do Park, you must definitely let your children and yourself visit the Museum of Ethnology. Especially on Saturdays and Sundays, the museum also has water puppet shows. As I entered Ly Thai To Garden, the serene beauty of the landscaped greenery immediately captivated me. Located in the heart of Hanoi, this tranquil oasis provided a welcome escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Strolling along the winding pathways, I marveled at the meticulously manicured gardens and vibrant flowers in bloom. The sound of trickling water from ornate fountains added to the peaceful ambiance, creating a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. Finding a quiet bench, I sat down to soak in the surroundings. Watching locals and tourists alike enjoying leisurely walks and picnics, I couldn't help but feel a sense of connection to the community and the rich history of the area. As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the garden, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience such natural beauty in the heart of the bustling city. Trúc Bạch Lake, located in a residential area of Hanoi, holds historical significance as the site where John McCain was captured in 1967. The tranquil shoreline is home to State-Run Food Shop #37, a restaurant that pays homage to the postwar era. Thanh Nien road divides a part of West Lake to form Trúc Bạch Lake, which is surrounded by gardens, hotels, and entertainment centers.
Lovely spot for sunset 🌅 🌇 it has a park you can sit and relax, have coffee and also exercise. The sun setting behind the cityscape, white swan boats, and elderly exercising while the sun shines on the lake. It’s a beautiful sight for sure! ☺️

Truc Bach Lake in Hanoi is a peaceful spot, perfect for a morning walk. The calm waters and fresh breeze make it a refreshing start to the day. Surrounded by charming coffee shops, it’s ideal for a quiet break. You can sit by the lake with a cup of Vietnamese coffee and just unwind. The views are soothing, especially during sunrise and sunset. A lovely place to relax and soak in the city’s slower, scenic side.

Anita R — Google review
In the 17th century, the embankment was built by the villagers of Yen Phu and Quan Thanh on both sides. They are said to have divided the West Lake into two sides and created an isolated lake (for fishing). Thanh Nien Street existed from 1957 to 1958, when it was formed by a narrow embankment. During the lifetime of President Ho Chi Minh, the youth and students of Hanoi made it into the wide street it is today, according to his suggestion.

It looks like they have cleaned up the lake? The surroundings very peaceful and laid back. Had lunch at a restaurant overseeing the lake during winter and the weather is just delightful. There are paddling boats for rental and a couple of small boats littered the tranquil waters. Opposite banks there are hotels and quaint 4-5 storey houses with fabulous lake views. Nice place away from the hussle of the Old Quarters.

Hanoi maybe popular for Hoan Kiem Lake, but actually Truc Bach Lake which is located in Ba Dinh District must not be missed as well. It is a good place for afternoon stroll or even at daytime. There are a lot of spots to take photos as well as a lot of places to just sit and relax. The surroundings also offer numerous food and beverages. A popular Tran Quoc Pagoda is also located at the side of this lake. Visitors to Hanoi can take e-hailing or taxi to this lake

Hanoi Old Quarter is a historic trading district with narrow lanes, a night market, and traditional tube houses. The Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Centre offers interactive displays and exhibitions showcasing the city's evolution from a small trading port in 1010AD. Nearby Hoan Kiem Lake provides a peaceful escape with Ngoc Son Temple on its northern edge. Residents practice tai chi by the lake in the mornings, and on weekends, there's a funfair vibe due to traffic bans.
Hanoi Old Quarter is a lively area full of history, culture, and bustling local life. The narrow streets are lined with shops selling clothes, souvenirs, handicrafts, and much more. Bargaining is common here—if you negotiate politely, prices can drop significantly, so good bargaining skills really help! It’s best to visit in the morning or evening for a more comfortable walk. The atmosphere is energetic and offers a true glimpse into Hanoi’s local charm.

We stayed in the Hanoi Old Quarter and it was nothing short of amazing! We experienced the people, culture and atmosphere of the Old Quarter. Walking through the busy streets was both exhilarating and quite the adventure navigating people, cars and motorcycles. It was a rush! The people are friendly, kind and welcoming and some became like family. I HIGHLY recommend staying at a hotel in the Old Quarter and experiencing it for yourself.

Hanoi Old Quarter is a lively and fascinating part of the city filled with history, culture, and endless energy. The narrow streets are packed with shops, cafes, and street food vendors, making it a great place to explore on foot. It can get crowded and noisy, but that’s part of its charm. The mix of old architecture and modern life gives it a unique atmosphere that really captures the spirit of Hanoi.
Lydia C — Google review
Grounding experience to visit the old quarters and get a peak into a blend of the old and new in Hanoi. Vibrant streets, bustling with mopeds, and people going about their work. Flocks of people enjoying a meal and beer together. Lots of small plastic stools signature of the area. Just a pleasure to walk through these lanes and discover every nook and corner. You see what you seek!
Shreya K — Google review
Hanoi Old Quarter is a must visit, or even better, a must stay if you’re traveling to Hanoi for the first time. Its narrow, bustling streets filled with cafés, hotels, souvenir shops, and all kinds of local stores will amaze you and make you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The Old Quarter is still home to many locals, so you’ll see people going about their daily routines alongside curious travelers. At night, the area becomes even livelier, busier, and full of energy; an experience you definitely shouldn’t miss.
Duran N — Google review
Hanoi's Old Quarter is not merely a place; it's a full-blown sensory experience. From the moment you step into its labyrinthine network of streets, you are plunged into a whirlwind of activity that feels both ancient and ceaselessly modern. It is, without a doubt, the historical and cultural heart of the city, and an experience no visitor should miss. Historically, the Old Quarter was a bustling centre of commerce, famously composed of 36 streets, each dedicated to a specific craft or trade—Hang Bac for silver, Hang Gai for silk, Hang Quat for fans, and so on. While the specialisations have blurred over time, this centuries-old layout remains, creating a fascinating maze to explore. The architecture itself is a story, with narrow, deep "tube houses" squeezed together, their façades a captivating mix of traditional Vietnamese design and fading French colonial elegance. The true pulse of the Old Quarter, however, is its street life. This is where Hanoi truly lives and breathes. The pavements are a non-stop parade of commerce and daily life. Motorbikes, laden with everything from passengers to precarious towers of goods, weave through pedestrians with an instinctual grace that is both terrifying and mesmerising to the uninitiated. Food is, perhaps, the district's crowning glory. The Old Quarter is a street food paradise. Forget fine dining; the best meals are served from bubbling pots on the pavement, enjoyed on diminutive plastic stools. A steaming bowl of phở for breakfast, the smoky, sizzling delight of bún chả for lunch, a crusty bánh mì on the go, and, of course, the decadently rich cà phê trứng (egg coffee) in a hidden-away café. Every corner offers a new aroma, a new flavour to discover. By day, the streets are a blur of shoppers haggling in dong-packed markets and tourists navigating the wonderful chaos. By night, the area transforms. The famous Ta Hien, or "Beer Street," becomes a throng of locals and travellers alike, spilling out from bars onto the road, sharing cheap, refreshing bia hơi (draught beer) and plates of fried snacks. Nearby, the serene Hoan Kiem Lake offers a beautiful, illuminated contrast, with the iconic red Huc Bridge leading to the Ngoc Son Temple—a perfect spot for a quiet evening stroll. A word of warning: the Old Quarter is not for the faint of heart. It is noisy, it is crowded, and the constant flow of traffic can be overwhelming. Crossing the road is an art form in itself (the trick is to walk slowly and confidently, allowing the traffic to flow around you). But this chaos is precisely where its charm lies. The Old Quarter is not a sanitised museum piece; it is a living, breathing, brilliantly hectic neighbourhood. It’s a place where you can find exquisite silk, sip world-class coffee, and eat one of the best meals of your life, all within a few square metres. For the traveller seeking authenticity, energy, and a true taste of Hanoi, the Old Quarter is, quite simply, essential.

Hanoi Old Quarter is vibrant, chaotic, and full of charm. Narrow streets, endless cafés, local shops, street food stalls, and buzzing energy at every corner. It’s the best place to feel the real pulse of Hanoi — lively, colorful, and unforgettable. A must-visit area if you want the full cultural experience.

Ngoc Son Temple is a serene 18th-century pagoda located on a small island in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as Sword Lake. Accessible by an ornate wooden bridge, the temple is dedicated to national hero Tran Hung Dao and houses altars and ancient artifacts, including ceramics. The lake itself was once home to giant turtles, considered mythical creatures akin to the legend of Excalibur.
If you are at Hanoi. Do visit this local temple which is known for its peaceful ambience and beautiful architecture. The place reflects the Vietnamese way of worship and gives a glimpse about their spiritual life. According to the stelae at the site, Ngoc Son Temple’s construction started in autumn of 1841, under the reign of the Ly Dynasty. It worships Van Xuong De Quan (Wenchang Dijun), a Taoist deity that brings happiness and wealth to scholars. It is also dedicated to General Tran Hung Dao (1231 - 1300), who defeated the Mongols in the 13th century. 1 hour is enough to visit the place and you can buy tickets at the entrance.

We enjoyed this place from the outside, around the lake. If you have time, it’s nice to check out the temple from the inside. It’s flocking with tourists. Early hours are the best time to visit to avoid big tour groups. One has to dress appropriately to visit the temple. (Knees and shoulders covered). One of the prominent places in the Hanoi Old Quarter.
K B — Google review
Only reason I give 4 stars is this is one of two temples dedicated Confucius and of the two this one is far more crowded with tourists, plus the other temple is nearly 800 years older. This temple was constructed in 1800s while the temple of literature (also a temple dedicated to Confucius) was first built in 1070. If you are short on time and staying in the old quarter this is still a great place to see as it is centrally located and in a beautiful lake setting however if you have more time I recommend going to the temple of literature. You can still get a good view of this temple from the lakeside trail without paying to enter, just somthing to consider! Still very beautiful and spiritual!
Soren S — Google review
Right in the middle of Hoàn Kiếm Lake, surrounded by incense smoke and a peaceful atmosphere. It feels spiritual and calm, especially with the lake reflections and the red bridge leading inside. The story behind the temple and the lake is fascinating: according to legend, a magical turtle gave a sword to a hero to defend the country, and later the sword was returned to the turtle in the lake. The turtle symbolizes wisdom and longevity, which makes it such an important cultural symbol for Vietnam. Inside the temple, there are two preserved giant turtles on display. They’re incredibly rare and sacred, but there’s almost no information about them no details like their names, size, or age. It would’ve been nice to learn more, especially since there are so few of these turtles left in the world. One turtle was very well preserved clean, shiny, and clearly cared for. But the other one sadly had spider webs and dead insects around it. It made me a bit disappointed because it’s such a special part of Vietnamese history, and visitors pay to see it. I think it deserves better maintenance. Still, overall, it’s a beautiful and safe place to visit, even if you’re traveling solo. Worth seeing for the view, the history, and the cultural story just hope they’ll take better care of those legendary turtles.

Our family had the most wonderful discovery right in the middle of Hanoi: the Ngoc Son Temple. This place is truly magical, or as we say, nakakagigil (excitingly captivating)! It feels so mystical and serene as it sits right in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake. Walking across that gorgeous red bridge (Huc Bridge) to get there was an experience in itself. You immediately feel a profound sense of peace and history once you step inside. What made it extra special for our pamilya was the location. Imagine—it was only a three-minute walk from our hotel in the Old Quarter! We were so lucky to have this mystical spot right on our doorstep. Visiting Ngoc Son Temple was a quiet, spiritual moment amidst the city's hustle. It truly felt like we found a hidden gem at the very heart of Hanoi. A must-see for anyone visiting the city!
Mayumi S — Google review
A stone tower built at the entrance to the Temple complex. It is inscribed with Chinese characters meaning "to write on the blue sky," symbolizing the importance of knowledge and education. Visitors cross the iconic red, arched wooden bridge, called The Huc Bridge (or "Morning Sunlight Bridge"), to reach the temple grounds. The bridge is a popular spot for photos. The temple houses the remains of a giant turtle that once lived in the lake. This specimen is linked to the legend of King Le Loi, who famously returned a magical sword to a divine turtle in Hoan Kiem Lake. Price for entry is a little steep, especially in comparison to many other temples in Hanoi. Chinese Confucian influence is also apparent, with multiple auspicious exhortations or calls to virtue written around gates and pillars. Note: Since it is a place of worship, visitors should dress respectfully. This includes covering knees and shoulders.
JR F — Google review
A nice little temple nestled in the middle of the Ho Hoan Kiem lake. If you want to take some time away from the hustling and bustling old quarter, make sure to take a stroll around the lake and have a look at this temple! There is a mini museum in it highlighting the Vietnamese beliefs in the 4 sacred animals (like turtle, phoenix, dragon and qilin). PS. You could get tickets on the day of, need not make advance bookings for it. Enjoy!
Stanley S — Google review
The temple is located on an island in the lake, and you can absolutely get a sufficient view of the beautiful outside from the lakeside if you don’t care for the inside. The entry fee is 50 000 VND, and i absolutely feel like i got my moneys worth. The temple itself is quite small, and the inside is nicely decorated but not much crazier than any ordinary temple. What really earns the temple five stars is in my opinion the two preserved specimens of the Hoan Kiem turtles, which i would have paid 50 thousand just to see alone!

Buffet restaurant
Maison Sen Buffet is a chic and stylish buffet restaurant that offers a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes and seafood. With multiple locations across Hanoi, including in the Tay Ho, Hai Ba Trung, and Hoan Kiem districts, Maison Sen Buffet has been serving delicious food since 2004. The chain promises professional and friendly service at affordable prices. It's no wonder it's considered one of the best restaurants in Hanoi.
There is a wide variety of dishes on offer, and they are fresh and delicious. The staff are very polite and quickly clear away tableware, so you can enjoy your meal without the table getting messy. Reservations can also be made through Facebook, and you can contact them promptly via messenger. They were also flexible in changing the number of seats. I really appreciate that.

This buffet was an absolute great value—for the food, service, and overall environment. Some of my friends had seafood at street restaurants and ended up paying way too much, so I decided to go for a buffet with a fixed price instead. Definitely the right choice! You need to make a reservation through Messenger, and the staff clearly explains the price in advance, which I appreciated. The restaurant looks nice both outside and inside—lots of aunties were taking photos at the front door😄. The food selection was wide and everything I tried was fresh and high quality. I didn’t take many pictures because I was too busy eating. I came here with my mom, and we noticed many local families dining around us, which made us feel like we picked the right spot. We both really enjoyed the meal.
HXM W — Google review
One has to come to this amazing buffet to experience the sheer variety and freshness of the seafood. The selection is quite substantial, from tasty grill seafood to bbq ribs and local cuisines. The interior looks clean and spacious enough. With the sheer number of people in there, it can get a little too noisy. Servers are highly efficient in clearing the dirty plates off the table. Drinks are not included in the buffet, a young, perhaps new server was not aware of it. He told me the coke and bottle water on the table are free, only to find those two items were billed on my way out. That does not diminish my wonderful experience at Maison Sen. Will certainly visit this place for next trip to Hanoi.
Victor K — Google review
One of the best buffets I have had the pleasure of eating at. Focus on fresh seafood which is refilled all night, in most instances straight away, so you are never kept waiting. If booking the evening session, you have the table from open till closing which is a very nice aspect. A must try if in Hanoi. Bookings cancelled be made by calling or through their Facebook page.

If you like seafood, it's absolutely heaven! It's the best place to eat in Hanoi. There are so many stations to choose from! If you can't try all the delicious Hanoi cuisine at once, this buffet is a must! Great value for money!!! Reservations are recommended! :)

I haven't seen so much seafood in my life, the buffet spread is amazing and they tasted great. There's shrimps, different crustaceans and any seafood you can think of. I also looove the clams in coconut sauce . However, they don't provide free drinking water. You have to buy mineral water and softdrinks which costs 29000 vnd each. Service is average, the waiter seeemd to be bad in mood. You can message them in Facebook for a reservation which I highly recommend since this restaurant is very popular. Overall, great food, with no free water and grumpy staff.

While the grilled skewers and tapas were delicious, some dishes lacked the boldness of flavor you’d expect for the price. Events like live music and vinyl DJ nights add a unique charm, making it a vibrant hangout spot. The service, while friendly, was a bit slow during peak hours, which slightly impacted the overall experience. Overall, Standing Bar is a must-visit for beer lovers in Hanoi. Just a touch more attention to service and consistency in the food could make it a five-star experience.

Walking past this place to get to another but decided to stop for a craft beer and some food, we had the juicy peach and cheekie Blonde beers, for food we had the craft sausage combo and was so tasty! staff are helpful and attentive, great views of the lake with sunset. Couldn’t ask for more!

🍺 🕺 💃 Good beer, good music, and great views of the lake. They have a great selection of beer, different types and different breweries. I recommend going upstairs in the balcony if the weather permits. They also have a ton of food options to snack on while you drink!

My dog is a rescue and she is very anxious and nervous outside of the house, never mind going to the vets! She was just going for simple nail clipping and ear cleaning and she gets on like it's her last day on earth 🤣 the vets were SO caring, patient and kind towards her. They went really slowly, loads of gentle strokes to help her feel calm and a lot of reassurance. I have no experience of surgery or anything complicated but based on my experience so far this place is exceptional!

The staff is very hospitable and they have all kinds of equipment. Though it is a bit expensive and you can find cheaper places around, feel like the vet gave us advices in order to keep our dog there for longer.

Happy pets is caring and honest - and would not exaggerate our dog’s condition to make us worried & pay more like some other clinics in Hanoi- highly recommend. They’ve done a great job treating and taking care of our puppy so far.

Happy Pet is a great vet in Tayho next to the lake. They are a highly skilled team if professionals, and very caring and kind to your fur babies. They have sorted out serious health issues, operated, medicated and nursed my pets back to health. Neither of my pets are in the least afraid to go to Happy Pet for their grooming and booster shots. They even fetch and deliver your pets if needed. I highly recommend them.
Brenda S — Google review
Happy Pet are the best. I'll always be grateful to Happy Pet. They rescued my dog Lucky as a puppy from a previous owner who didn't know how to care for an animal. By all accounts, he was more dead than alive but they nursed him back to health. He came to live with us and we always knew that when we were going on holiday he'd be happy to stay with Happy Pet kennels. In between times they gave him hair cuts, sorted out some minor ailments and were generally just fantastic. Six years on, they've helped Lucky move to the UK. We decided that, having relocated to a high rise, it wasn't the best place for a big dog and Hanoi just seems to be getting harder and harder for dogs and owners alike. Plus my Mum and Dad had just lost a much-loved pet. Happy Pet did all the Viet-side arrangements and worked through it with us step by step. They were fantastic. Also, it was very easy for me as we all spoke in English from the outset. Lucky arrived, still smiling, in the UK and is being spoilt by his new carers. Happy Pet are the best. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you all!

Bún Thang Bà Tổng is a traditional Vietnamese dish that features vermicelli noodles, shredded chicken, and an array of toppings like eggs, shrimp floss, and mushrooms. This light and flavorful chicken noodle soup is typically enjoyed with fermented shrimp sauce for an exquisite dining experience. The dish usually comprises around 20 ingredients, including a broth made from chicken bones and squid, pickled beets, and Vietnamese ham.
Nice staff really trying to share more diverse Vietnamese dishes. They recommended their specialty, Bún Thang. Rich chicken broth simmered with mushrooms for 20 hours. Toppings such as shredded egg omelette, mushrooms, chicken, coriander and Vietnamese sausages. Great food. Their Pho is great as well but if you haven't tried Bun Thang, please give it a try! Amazing place!

OUR FAVORITE MEAL IN HANOI !!!! We ordered two chicken pho in fish broth (Bun Thang Thuong) and two Mixed phos without broth and with ?dried onions, peanuts, chicken with skin (Pho Tron Thuong). They were soooooooo good and the Mixed phos blew our minds! The staff were so friendly too and used Google translate to explain the items and recommended the Mixed phos. Thank you for the smiles and the best recommendations 😋 we will be back!

Ordered Bun Thang. Super delicious! The broth is uniquely nice with a special fragrance. It has this crunchy vegetable, which I’ve no idea what’s that, that gives a slight sour taste and I love it. Mixed it with cut garlic and chilli and lime (as usual). I added some red chilli sauce as well that we’ll complement the chicken meat that some were too tough for my liking. It’s June and super hot! Otherwise, it’ll be so much more enjoyable with the hot broth. I’ll definitely miss this delicacy and will visit again when I’m back at Hanoi! Continue to provide some good food! 💪🏼💪🏼❤️

Just as all the other reviews state: it’s awesome! A really fun grab ride to a truly local area. As I was getting off the bike to hand back my helmet the host had already locked eyes with me giving me a huge smile! This welcome means a lot when you are solo travelling 😃. I got the Bun Thang with breast meat. Beautiful flavoursome broth with mushrooms and rice noodles. I added heaps of chilli and pickled garlic. So good! And only 50k. Would definitely go again and maybe try thigh meat next time 😁

New and have a lot of toys for kids. But too crowd and not really clean
Nguyen A — Google review
Dont get me wrong my kid had a blast, but as a parent.. Explore other options.. I care alot about hygiene and cleanliness. Thats the bad side of this place. It has that classic musty smell of 'lightly smells like pee and dirt' that children parks and playground always have when not cleaned well. I was a border line 2 star rater here They have cleaning people, but there is clearly no routine or order to what they do, the slowly walk around with buckets barely doing anything certainly not having children health and welfare in their mind. They wipe down a certain area for maybe 5 minutes, then sort of disappear waiting for their shift to end. (Typical cranky cleaning lady stuff for vietnam but still) We were in the Thomas toy area..big bug crawls out of somewhere and my son calls it out and squishes it Another smaller bug appears 5m later in the same area We go to the water fishing area thats there upon entry, son picks up a toy thing sitting on the edge, 2-3 bugs crawl own from under it. Gross impression now made based on pattern that I see. We go to the playground area, large blue slides have weird brownish-yellow dried up liquid on - all 4 slides - dont know if its pee or snack, but i def did not let me son slide down it The positive side Variety of things to do, better than what alot of Western arcades/indoor playgrounds offer. Playgound is pretty large scale which is a blast because kids Staff is very nice and helpful, the seem like pleasant people and they have good manners Snack bars are good Arcade is good with almost all games working Advice: If your running a playground/arcade for kids, you need to be regularly cleaning on all surfaces kids touch every other day at the absolute minimum - its flu season too for gods sake - and deep cleaning the place every weekend. Kids are super creative regarding how they are able to place germs of a variety of types into small little corners and hard to get to areas, manager needs to match this issues with proper cleaning My kid had a blast but the place is kinda gross

Công Viên Bách Thảo, or the Hanoi Botanical Garden, is a serene oasis nestled in the northwest of Vietnam's bustling capital. Established during the early French colonial period, this lush park offers a refreshing escape from the city's tourist hotspots. On a leisurely Monday afternoon visit, I found it to be an ideal spot for unwinding and observing local life—people engaging in activities like badminton, jogging, and even traditional dance.
Ticket fee 5.000 VND Good spot to find some nature in the middle of the Hanoi city
Lilly R — Google review
Beautiful park unfortunately ruined by the presence of these random small, depressing, poorly maintained cages with monkeys and peacocks in the park. Animals are clearly anxious as they were pacing endlessly in their enclosures. Not sure what they add as nobody in the park seemed to be paying attention to them.
Vicky Z — Google review
Beautiful park, I liked the statues and the peace and quiet but I was disappointed with the caged birds and monkeys
J G — Google review
I don’t recommend coming here with your dogs. They used to be always dog friendly, but now they tend to be inconsistent with letting dogs in. Annoying when you travel all the way from your house and just be told that you can’t go inside with your dog. They have to be consistent with their rules to avoid the hassle for the dog owners.
Ram S — Google review
I think that Hanoi Botanical Gardens isn't meant to be a tourist attraction. However, we found it to be a pleasant place to wander around in and take a break from touristy places. We chanced upon this place on a Monday afternoon. As a overseas visitor, I enjoyed watching the locals doing their normal activities: playing badminton, jogging, chaptek, football, elderly ladies dancing. As for Pigeon Island - I am impressed at the size of the pigeons. In most cities, city pigeons are scruffy, scrawny and are in a variety of patterns. In this park, they are enormous, and only come in 2 colours - all white and the classic grey with iridescent turquoise streaks around the collar and mantle.
Suet Y — Google review
The Botanical Garden in Hanoi could be a beautiful place — though it’s quite poorly maintained. However, two things made this a very negative experience for me: 1. There’s a 2,000 VND entrance fee. While it’s a small amount, it seemed completely arbitrary who was asked to pay and who wasn’t. 2. Most troubling: animals like monkeys and peacocks are kept in very small, dirty cages. They appear scared and depressed, with no shelter or space to retreat. It was heartbreaking to see them in such conditions. No one seemed to care about their wellbeing, and their suffering serves no apparent purpose.

Hồ tròn Bách Thảo, also known as the Hanoi Botanical Garden, is a serene oasis in the heart of the city. Established in 1890, this 33-hectare park boasts a diverse collection of plant species, including many native to Vietnam. The well-labeled grounds are perfect for nature enthusiasts and offer a peaceful environment for leisurely strolls amidst beautiful settings.
Nice park to have some rest. Enough space to sit but poor if it comes to buy something to drink or smthg
Mosti G — Google review
A very quiet and small garden area. The toilets in here should be avoided since they are not well kept. There are a few animal cages as well. It costs 2,000 dong to enter, possibly for tourists only. This is more of a park rather than a botanical garden. If your aim is to see a variety of plants this may not be what you are after. AI came for birdwatching, which was quite reasonable. I would say that it's not a bad place to go to, but probably not worth going out of your way for.
Morgan P — Google review
The park is poorly maintained, with noticeable litter scattered around the grounds. Additionally, there are a few, way too small, animal enclosures where the animals appear to be inadequately cared for. The overall impression is disappointing, and the ticketing staff was noticeably unfriendly. Also, the label “botanical garden” is misleading.
Dominik R — Google review
Nice park to visit but the animals in cage are sad to see and do bot look like they are kept in a good condition.
Riccardo V — Google review
If you want to use this as a shortcut to get to the lake, the yes it is worth to pay 2000 VND to enter to the lady screaming at you that you have to buy tickets. If your plan is just to visit this park with the pond and the closed broken bridge, do not waste your time. It is sad, dirty and not worth your time.
Vlad K — Google review
Nothing to see here. They try to charge foreigners for entrance fee when giving me a used ticket. What a scam! Please avoid at all costs! * You can enter via the Bach Thao Cafe (100m from the main entrance) to avoid donating to these thieves
Trung N — Google review
Uninspiring, two ponds, grass, few trees, hardly any flowers in late February. Also, 2,000 VND suddenly became 10,000 VND.

Although it was cheap (2k VND) it's not really a botanical garden and is comparable to an average city park.

On your journey through Hanoi, make sure to stop by The Good Days, a charming little sandwich shop that captures the essence of local flavor. Nestled on Tran Quang Dieu, this delightful spot features a vibrant green sandwich counter that’s both clean and inviting. Their combo menu offers an affordable yet satisfying breakfast option with a tasty sandwich paired with refreshing drinks like orange juice or artichoke tea. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a cool summer vibe, whether you choose to sit indoors or outdoors.
(Translated by Google) One morning, walking around Tran Quang Dieu, I accidentally came across a cute little sandwich shop in front of “The Good Days” at 1U. The first impression was the green sandwich counter, which was very prominent, clean, neatly arranged, and immediately attracted the eye. The combo menu was only 32k, including a sandwich and a glass of water (orange juice or artichoke orange tea), a very reasonable price for a quick and nutritious breakfast. I ordered a fish cake sandwich, the bread was hot and crispy, the filling was full, the sauce was delicious. I drank it with a glass of cool artichoke orange tea, the mild taste made the morning much more pleasant. The shop is open from 7am to 10:30am, suitable for office workers or anyone who wants a light, beautiful breakfast. The space is small but cool, with outdoor seating for a light chill. I appreciate the neatness and aesthetic taste of the shop - from the sign design to the arrangement of tables and chairs. A big plus is the cheap but quality combo, I will definitely come back many more times! (Original) Một buổi sáng dạo quanh Trần Quang Diệu và vô tình bắt gặp quán bánh mì nhỏ xinh trước cửa tiệm “The Good Days” ở số 1U. Ấn tượng đầu tiên là quầy bánh mì màu xanh lá rất nổi bật, sạch sẽ, bày trí gọn gàng, thu hút ngay ánh nhìn. Menu combo chỉ 32k bao gồm một bánh mì và một ly nước (cam ép hoặc trà cam atiso), giá quá hợp lý cho một bữa sáng nhanh gọn mà vẫn đầy đủ dinh dưỡng. Mình gọi một bánh mì chả cá, bánh nóng giòn, nhân đầy đặn, nước sốt vừa miệng. Uống kèm ly trà cam atiso mát lạnh, vị dịu nhẹ giúp buổi sáng trở nên dễ chịu hơn hẳn. Quán phục vụ từ 7h đến 10h30 sáng, phù hợp với dân văn phòng hoặc ai muốn ăn sáng nhẹ nhàng, đẹp mắt. Không gian tuy nhỏ nhưng lại xanh mát, có chỗ ngồi bên ngoài để chill nhẹ. this place made a hard day’s night much more than a song title by the beatles. rather, it is an encounter i’m always grateful for. a fragment of memory i’ll always remember. a comfort space for bits of sadness. an endearing repository for untold stories. never before had i imagined i could cherish a corner of hanoi’s old quarter so much. so much that i came here every night in my trip, forgetting about all the other cafes and bars on my list. so much that i almost couldn’t say goodbye. because everything here is too precious to be true. everyone who comes here will have a different personal experience, but i bet anyone would fall in love with this place, just as deeply like i did. decoration: i want to frame everything, literally. they have a projector for film nights, lots of candles, the beatles albums and cds, a cute bookshelf at the back. atmosphere: really cozy and intimate for convos. even when the place is packed, it remains quiet. the exact feeling of “tranquil”. customer service: nowhere else does it better. i came here alone everytime, but i never felt lonely. all of the bartenders are so so so nice and kind. they will treat you like a friend visiting, rather than a customer. they always cater for your appetite, willingly listen to your stories, and cheer you up with cute surprises. drinks: top-tier, as they have homemade specialties. one time, i tried vodka brewed with strawberry tea and it’s really refreshing. it also has a sweet aftertaste. the labtory craft beers here are also worth a try, especially in the summer. they also serve coffees and non-alcoholic drinks in the morning.

Nature & Parks
Nestled in the misty and captivating landscape, Ba Vi National Park provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. The park features well-developed trails that lead to attractions such as the Ho Chi Minh Temple, the Ruins, and the Cactus Dome. It's an ideal spot for birdwatching and offers a great opportunity to immerse in nature.
I had the chance to visit there this summer. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, and quiet place. The temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius. The rooms are all surrounded by trees, offering a surprising view of the Red River in the morning.

We enjoyed our time in Ba Vi National Park . We hired a tour guide but that wasn’t necessary. You just need a way to get there. We just did the walks with the stairs (about 1200 on one side and about 650 on the other) so you can definitely get a great work out. There are several temples along the way up that are active. It’s so impressive how many people walk up to make offerings and pray.
Terri G — Google review
Nice park for a weekend wander and some ok trail running - best run is still up the main road to the french runs and the mountain temple. The park is still wild in some places - nice to be in nature and close to the city.
C W — Google review
Excellent day hike approximately 65 km from French Quarter in Hanoi. I enjoyed the clean air on a foggy morning. There were very few people and vehicles as I walked up the road and then took the trails to the old prison and the church ruins. It is a rain forest in parts... could hear the rain falling in the deep forest- but it was not raining on me - very peaceful. It was a slippery day and I was happy I brought some hiking sticks... definitely worth the trip 👌

Ba Vì National Park is an ideal destination for nature lovers and explorers. It offers a refreshing green space, fresh air, and a diverse ecosystem. Visitors can explore notable sites such as Thượng Temple, the Ancient Church, or conquer the Tản Viên Peak. Especially in late autumn, the blooming wild sunflowers make the landscape even more vibrant. However, the entrance fee does not quite match the deteriorating road conditions, as some areas have landslides and large sinkholes. Additionally, the shops around the area have very high prices, so visitors should prepare their supplies in advance to avoid buying them on-site.
Đức M — Google review
It's national park in the mountain. There is the gate and ticket counter in the beginning. They charge 60K for entrance, and 10K for parking? at 1100m points? Anyway on the way of heading to the 1100m point, there are some view points. It's high enough to see all landview from the mountain. It's worth to come here even just driving. Anyway please be carefull. It was very cold on the top of the mountain. You should bring your jacket here. I visited May 2025. It was cold on top. By the way, there is a shop at the 1100m point, so good to have Hao Hao noodle there Lol.
The W — Google review
The road access to the National Park is under construction, but if you go at lunchtime, when all the workers are eating or sleeping, there will be no delays. Beautiful place, I went there to get off the beaten track and not have to hear motorcycles and cars driving and Honking. ( it’s about an hour away from Hanoi. )
Alain C — Google review
We had up-and-down emotion to get to the Bavi National Park and I will summarize as belows: - Up to the elevation 400m, road is terrible due to road maintenance. We had to wait for 10 min for a concrete truck to work across the road. It is so crowded and dusty without any warning in the beginning of the road. - From elevation 400m to 700m, a quite good road to go will full of plants around. - From elevation 700m to 1100m, a high slope can make your brake broken down when going down. Be careful with this popular problem there. We also made that similar difficulty and a little bit scary to go down. On the cote 1100, it is so special to see the fog and clouds going around. A good moment to enjoy the travel. Note that you will buy a ticket at the foot of the park, vnd 60k per person excluded your vehicle fee. Lưu ý rất dễ mất phanh khi đi xuống từ cao độ 1100m đến 700m vì đường rất dốc. Nên chuẩn bị sẵn số điện thoại trong trường hợp cần cứu hộ xe.

Hoa Binh Park is a serene and spacious park featuring walking paths that encircle a picturesque lake, as well as several impressive sculptures. It's a dog-friendly park with clean surroundings and ample space for leisurely strolls. On weekends, the park buzzes with various activities, making it an ideal spot for people-watching. Visitors can enjoy the scenic lake, engage in sports like basketball or observe kite flying and remote-controlled car driving.
Hoa Binh Park is one of Hanoi's most beautiful and tranquil green spaces, providing a much-needed escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Its name, meaning "Peace," perfectly reflects the serene and calming atmosphere you’ll find here. The park is spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of open areas, paved walkways, and shaded spots under tall trees, making it ideal for families, joggers, or anyone looking to relax. The modern layout is complemented by thoughtful landscaping, with vibrant flowers, well-kept lawns, and peaceful ponds. There are also striking fountains and artistic sculptures scattered throughout, adding a touch of sophistication to the park. These features make it not only a great place for leisure but also a visually pleasing destination for photographers or nature lovers. What sets Hoa Binh Park apart is its quieter ambiance compared to other parks in Hanoi. It's less crowded, making it a perfect spot to enjoy some solitude or have a peaceful outing with friends or family. Whether you’re planning a morning run, an afternoon stroll, or even a simple picnic, the park provides an ideal setting. If you're looking for a serene retreat in the heart of Hanoi, Hoa Binh Park is a must-visit. It’s a great reminder of how nature and urban life can coexist beautifully.

A popular site for photographers, this riverside garden features frequent blooms & a windmill.
This is a developing place, and hasn't fully developed. We went here for a ride which we had seen on various insta reels the RAINBOW SLIDE. The ride was good but it's surprisingly too high. There's kayaking nearby there are other rides too. You have to pay an entry fee of 70,000 VND per person and an additional 50,000 per person for a ride.

🚨RAINBOW SLIDE CURRENTLY CLOSED🚨(Saturday 5th July 2025) Only writing this review for other people heading out here to go to the rainbow slide - due to the storm the slide has flooded and will take a few days to drain. There is a lot of water so I’d try call before you come to see if it’s cleared! We got let in for free because of the flood but there isn’t much to do here at the moment and flowers have also died as they are swamped in water!
Alannah O — Google review
We tried the Rainbow Slide at Bãi Đá Sông and it was such a fun experience that we went on it twice in the same day! The ride is colorful, exciting, and gives you that rush of adrenaline while still being safe and well-managed. Sliding down with the beautiful view around made it even more enjoyable. A simple but super fun activity worth trying if you’re in the area.

You can also meet with different kind of animals and birds out here which will be a soothing time pass for kids and adults . Adults can enjoy rides too with their kids . You have water front where you can sit and enjoy with your loved ones . Get your own stuff and you have the option to cook and vibe with all your family and friends . Must visit place . Entry ticket is separate and tickets for ride are separate . You also have cafe inside the park to enjoy food
Varun B — Google review
The area is currently flooded and is closed for a month (18 October 2025 to around late November 2025) The entire place looks dilapidated and there was nothing there other than a piece of paper saying the area is closed. There is nothing else to do and the locale is out of the city so we were forced to take a taxi back to the city again after essentially doing nothing. The flower garden looks a lot smaller than pictures led us to believe and was underwhelming.

So fun! I visited for the rainbow slide but tried so many other things. Theres go karting, an arcade, a farm, camping, cafes, a costume rental place, an ancient village, a field of flowers and so much more. Entrance was 70k. I loved feeding the sheep and goats, and I got to pet this little brown one. It was 10k for the carrots to feed them. There was a little dog cage thing which I'm not sure if theyre the staffs dogs or an exhibit but they were really cute. Would visit again!
Allana Z — Google review
We visited this place after our Hagiang Loop trip! It’s located close to Tay Ho area and it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere, the complex is quite big. It seems like we got the impression this place are still on ongoing development, as there are quite a few constructions going. Surprisingly, they have some animals farm inside too which I hope they really take care of the animals well. Of course we had to try their rainbow slide and it was amazing, the drop will surprise you a bit for sure but it was so much fun! We got to try their mini karting as well, it was only 2 of us and they let us play for as long as we can. I believe this place could develop into bigger and better if they could manage well!

Pretty far from city center and doesn’t justify the drive there. Pretty much nothing to do and we were the only ones there. Feels abandoned and a bit neglected. The colorful slide was fun though

I visited this place on November 7, 2021. Many rides have stopped working due to the corona virus, but the entrance fee is the same. Instead, there were very few visitors, so it was very comfortable to use the attraction in operation.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. What a horrible place to go. So much potential completely without management. I went there with my son and left at lunch time because there was nothing to do. Everything was closed, and I mean EVERYTHING!!! We just walked around looking at closed activities and left. Even the restaurants were closed. It was like ghost town. Some rides were open but they require customers to pay extra. So you pay to enter and then pay foe everything you do. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because my son enjoyed the aquarium and dinosaur area. There was a nice Cafe in the dinosaur area that we would have liked to relax at. But it, like everything else was closed. I added pictures of the closed cafe and closed lunch area. I want my money and time back!!!

It feels very run down and poorly maintained. Glass walls where animals are kept are really dirty. Still worth a visit if you have nowhere else to go. Highlights are VR area (extra 50k), feed the elephant and giraffe. Staff are friendly. The entry fee is a bit on the high side.
Can N — Google review
We actually really enjoyed it, a lot to see. The Moana show was amazing, the aquarium very basic and small, but nice for the young children, the waterpuppet show was cute, my daughter loved it. the ghost house was super funny. The thing is that if you go with your child to the park, you should go there when your child is tall enough to really experience everything. To be honest, I would have rated it between 4 and a 5 stars, but the moment I went to the Safari area, I couldn't go on the boat, first of all, my daughter is too short😅😅😅, then walking through it all and seeing the animals, you can only really see them from the top, not close enough like in the boat. A lot of the animals were locked up. Also, Rhinos and elephants were really a sad thing to see. I come from Africa, so these animals shouldn't live on concrete, also the rhinos are bleeding because of all the flies eating their skin, that means they are not clean. The elephants are chaned upin a small area. They do not look happy at all. The monkey cages are super dirty and stinky, not only inside the cages, but outside too, because of people not knowing where to throw their trash.
Manfred P — Google review
There're some wild animals, where you can see giraffes, tigers, and rhinos in the park. However, the water in the water park and amusement rides is not very clean, and the hygiene situation is quite unsatisfactory.
Ruby L — Google review
-The animals of all kinds are neglected and look depressed it disheartens me to see these lives kept in this sort of environment. -No matter your opinion of zoos and animals in captivity argument these creatures do not look okay there cramped and not kept it’s normal surroundings -the water part was in bad condition the colour of it was green and looks like it’s never been taken cared of bad habitat for the fishes and overall horrific -It is the park’s responsibility to maintain the balance between entertainment and animals healthcare when I went there was kids and adults banging on the glass with the animals inside and overall rude -As for the structure, the state is rather big yet doesn’t look like it has been cared for it’s dirty it’s uncared for and overall hard to look at it’s awful to see them put a ride next to safari animals expecting them to deal with that kind of noise - the only kind of aspect keeping this place at a 2 is the entertainment it’s sort of underwhelming however good and the sort of the entertainment part through my experience it was bad weather and raining heavily - point is help this place but otherwise don’t go
Michelle V — Google review
With very affordable price for one turn of visiting and getting experienced all games in this entertaining complex (about 300 thousands Dong/person), you can chill out yourself in a full day. There are available restaurants serving all foods which you could fill up your empty stomach after a long hours!
Thu B — Google review
Bad place. Not recommended. The place is too crowded, you need to wait in line from 30 mins to 1 hour (under the hot weather) to join any activities. The service quality is really bad and also construction zones are everywhere.
