1Bánh Rán Cổ Truyền Mật Đường

Dessert shop
Bánh Rán Cổ Truyền Mật Đường, also known as Vietnamese donuts, come in two varieties: sweet and salty. The sweet version is more popular and is typically filled with sweet mashed mung bean, while the salty one contains minced meat, noodles, and other ingredients. These scrumptious little balls of fried glutinous rice flour are a must-try when visiting Hanoi's Old Quarter.
The existence of many bootleg donut sellers in the proximity should be taken as a testament to the power of this establishment - they sell freshly fried mung bean donuts covered in either sugar or honey. It is crunchy, piping hot, delicious.
Farid H — Google review
This is the best desert I've ever eaten in Hanoi. It's crunchy in the outside and chewy on the inside. Even though it was coated with honey, it's perfectly sweetened. The price is super cheap which is 5000 dong per piece. I would definitely be back again next time I'm in the city.
Liv D — Google review
They have two types: dark sugar coated (nicer) and white sugar coated. Both with Mung bean paste inside. 5000 each. Like others have said - don't get confused with the other store on the street with glass window and not wearing their uniform. We bought some from there by mistake and it's not as nice but slightly cheaper (4000)
Melody M — Google review
Greasy and tasted like it was very old. The bag broke from all the grease. It was not eatable at all. We had one bite and the rest was thrown out.
Jens O — Google review
Crunchy outside but inside still very moist and mungbean filling was so delicious
Tracey D — Google review
I would vote this as the best desert I've ever eaten while traveling around the city. It's crunchy in the outside, and even though it was coated with honey sauce, it's perfectly sweetened. The inside was mug bean I believe, which is also delicious. Oh it's cheap too, 20k for 5 pcs. Would definitely be back again next time I'm in the city.
Jenny L — Google review
The best Vietnamese donut I've ever tried. Unlike the typical donuts that is made with only wheat flour, this place add sticky rice flour into the mix which greatly enhance the texture and flavour. They have 2 varieties brown sugar coating and white sugar coating. I would recommend the brown sugar donuts as it packs more flavour than the regular one. This place is really popular so be prepared to wait for like 30 minutes if they ran out, I waited half an hour for mine to be served.
Minh N — Google review
Tasty very sugary too try kind of a soft potato rice taste in the middle but very delicious

Madame Huong is a renowned bakery that offers an array of delectable pastries, including French-style bread, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn festival. With a decade of expertise in crafting high-quality sweet and savory treats, Madame Huong prides itself on its unique pastry decorations and customer-centric approach. The bakery also specializes in traditional Vietnamese cakes such as mooncakes, which are particularly popular during Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
One of my favourite places in Hanoi. I only wish the staff could speak more English so that tourists can easily communicate. I sometimes help tourists find what they want. Really tasty and really reasonable prices. A must come-visit in Hanoi. Only take away so if you want to stay then you need to buy a drink at the cafe next door which is also theirs.
VIP R — Google review
Excellent local patisserie in Hanoi. Love it. Best value for money. Must try. Plenty of choice. Not too sweet and perfect for afternoon tea. Next door coffee is good too
Nick T — Google review
Pretty good bakery where you can order and also sit outside to watch the world go by. They have a wide variety of croissants including plain, with ham and with cheese etc. We liked the egg tarts, pineapple and coconut balls and apple pies, which all tasted fresh. As a nod to the mid Autumn festival, they are also selling mini mooncakes with various fillings. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly as well.
Steven L — Google review
We ordered two cakes. My husband enjoyed his chocolate cake. My cheesecake was tasteless and rubbery. There was only one table with chairs. We sat at the cafe next to it and ordered drinks.
Catherine C — Google review
Tried Tiramisu here, was pretty good! It was a takeaway and the experience was very smooth. Give it a try
Aishwarya P — Google review
When in Hanoi this bakery / patisserie is definitively worth a visit. Located between two cafes (where you can get the coffee to your pastries) is sells fantastic looking tartlets, cakes and savory pastry. We tested the sweet ones and all of them were really good. The caramel cream with the gold leaf on top, the red one with a mini macaron and the filling and the fruity one (which came with quite a rich amount of sweet shortcrust pastry). We took another three, which were also really good but I guess we should have bought the next day 😊 One minor point to improve in my humble opinion: There was a huge bouquet of real lilies in front of the shop, and while they looked really beautiful their scent is quite strong. Nonetheless, if in Hanoi, I would definitely stop here.
Tobias L — Google review
My third time visit. One of the best bakeries in Hanoi🇻🇳 There are huge varieties of bread and desserts. I especially like their pastries. Crossiant and Pain au chocolat are a must try!
Teresa K — Google review
Staff behind counter - poker faces, bad vibes, counting cash notes like street fight dealers. Asked if they had wheat free options - wasn't interested, bluntly said no! Then I found coconut balls and cheese yoghurt which WERE gluten-free I could have. Avrage, dry, like the staff. Dom's bother going if you are after quality and experience.

3Glazed Artisan Donuts

Bakery
Glazed Artisan Donuts in Hanoi is a go-to spot for satisfying your sweet cravings. Their donuts are not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making them perfect for your Instagram feed. With a variety of flavors to choose from, including lemon and blueberry, as well as banana brulee and salted caramel, there's something for every taste preference. While the doughnuts may occasionally be slightly stale towards the end of the day, they are freshly coated and still amazing.
I love the crafted doughnuts!! Looks amazing and tastes wonderful 😋 I tried the Lime Cheesecake. It was not so sweet and had a nice sour! It's perfect!!
Maya M — Google review
These donuts were a "no" for us. They are beautiful to look at, but the taste wasn't great. The ring donuts are like bread - not like a donut. They are thick and then the topping is only on the top, so you're chewing on a lot of bread. The cookies and creme donut was ok. The lime cheesecake had some other random fruit on it (mango or peach?), which distracted from the lime flavor, and the cream inside tasted a little off, it smelled a little spoiled. We wouldn't order from here again, sadly.
Amy C — Google review
New name is Lifted! I highly recommend their grilled cheese! Donuts are okay.
Igo R — Google review
Donuts very bready. Not worth trying. Pretty pricey too. If you have a high standard when it comes to food, this place is not it. Sorry! There are few good donuts places in Hanoi, Lim donuts and dilf is another one:) tried also the cinnamon roll. Dry and not much taste. Kind of soft but not „juicy“ If you what I mean. Won’t come back:(
Mayana T — Google review
I got a strawberry doughnut, a salted caramel doughnut, and a cinnamon roll. None of them were warm, fresh or good. I spent 104,000 which was a complete rip off. It sucks that I stopped in to give this place a try everybody like myself should just keep walking past.
Chris R — Google review
Wow, this is the real deal for western style doughnuts in Hanoi, just follow the best seller tags and you can't go wrong. The lemon and blueberry are especially good. The nourish bowl was also fantastic, and the drinks are great too, thanks!
Eric H — Google review
There are not much Donuts places I know of in Hanoi, good thing Glazed is there to satisfy our sweet tooth. Had never been to their place, just always for delivery and they see to it the presentation and taste of their donuts are both on point. Very Instagramable!

Saint-Honoré Phuong Mai in Ha Noi is a French-style bakery that offers a wide range of classic French pastries and sweets. It's a popular spot for bread enthusiasts looking for something different. The bakery also serves gourmet sandwiches, fluffy pancakes, and soft pastries with incredible sauces. While the prices are slightly higher than other local eateries, the outstanding taste and excellent service make it worth it.

(Translated by Google) I bought some cakes this morning but for some reason, the two cakes were quite hard. The cinnamon roll cake is indescribable because it doesn't have any flavor at all. The chocolate swirl cake is okay. The space is clean, in the hospital grounds. Those who ride motorbikes should park them at Bach Mai because I asked the security guard, he said to park them in front of the gate where there are a lot of people passing by, he is also busy directing cars. If you find yourself in Hanoi and have a penchant for sweets, Delica-Hans is the place to be! Nestled within the luxurious Lotte Hotel, this bakery offers an array of delectable treats that will surely satisfy your cravings. From rich chocolate cakes and delightful fruit tarts to buttery croissants that could rival those from Paris, every bite is a celebration of flavor.
This place might not have proper seating, but it more than makes up for it with its baked goodies, especially the quiche Lorraine, which turned out to be surprisingly nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially ms. Hanh, who nailed my ridiculously tricky packaging needs.

amazing doughnut shop!!! the staff are so friendly and the doughnuts are amazing quality! so much variation. love the old school diner vibe of the place. great value for money :) would recommend to anyone in Hanoi!
Ella G — Google review
As someone who loves donuts, I’ll admit — Vietnam hasn’t been the happiest place for finding good ones. But RoyRoy Donuts is the best I’ve had in my 3 years living here. They offer a wide variety of donut types, and honestly, I almost emptied my boyfriend’s wallet trying so many. A cute bonus: you can color some fun pages while waiting for your order to be boxed. A delightful little touch to a sweet experience.
Jiru — Google review
These doughnuts are wonderful. My son loves doughnuts, so I wanted to find a good place to take him. According to the Google Reviews, RoyRoy is one of the best. We liked the vibe, cashier was nice, food is delicious! So glad we came here!

Been coming here for a couple years now. Donuts are good. Glad they change their variety sometimes. I usually get an iced latte, which is solid, but I’m not sure about their other drinks. Had a mistake with a bill one time and they fixed the mistake quickly, too, so service is good!

LỊM DONUTS HANOI is a charming spot located on Hang Da street, offering a delightful selection of donuts and beverages. The cozy space is adorned with intricate decorations, creating a lovely ambiance. The donuts are described as messy yet delicious, generously filled and bursting with flavor. Customers appreciate the moderate pricing and the enthusiastic staff who provide excellent recommendations.
We were craving donuts and found this place looking through Google map. There was a rather small selection but a great variety. We found the donuts fluffy, flavourful and not overly sweet. It definitely satisfied the craving.
Marianne B — Google review
My partner and I were craving a sweet treat and unfortunately after trying to different doughnuts we found them rather disappointing. We had the almond cream and the brownie ones and neither of them had any filling inside. The dough was average and the flavours were not coming through as you would expect.

Discovered LIM Donuts in Hanoi 🍩🇻🇳 – a small shop 🏠✨ but definitely a hidden gem 💎. The donuts are super cute 🎀🍭 with lots of fun varieties to choose from 🌈🍩. Not the best spot for dining in 🍽️🙅‍♀️ (too tiny for my taste), but perfect for grabbing a sweet treat on the go 🚶‍♀️☕. A little indulgence that’s worth the stop 😋
Daryleen A — Google review
We were craving sweets in Vietnam and this satisfied us. We bought the Vietnamese coffe I think, salted one with earl grey, and lebutte which is lemon/lime flavored. The earl grey tasted refreshing and not sweet, lebutte has a nicely strong lime/lemon flavor, the coffee didn't taste strong but it's not sweet either. I especially liked the earl grey. It has a generous amount of filling. We've been noticing the (intentional?) lack of sweetness in the desserts we've tasted in Sa Pa and Hanoi but this one, though not as sweet as I imagined it would be, were tasty and right amount of sweetness. The crew is not very welcoming but will kindly take your orders. The space is small but cozy if you sit farther inside.
Carlos P — Google review
The place is quite small, but the donuts are really good! They can go perfectly with coffee, but unfortunately, they don’t sell any. Please consider selling in the future! 😁
Mike V — Google review
This is actually our second try - first one was a bust since we went there pretty late already and they are all sold out. Donut was light and airy- interesting flavors. Not sure if I would visit again but something different to try in hanoi
Freah — Google review
Atmosphere is nice. We went in the evening, around 9:30p. The donuts were very sweet. The flavors seem interesting. I tried she cru-passion. I’d have liked it, if only it were a lot less sweet (and I LOVE sweets). The OGB was okay. Maybe better to try a specific flavor to make it worth your trip. I don’t feel the need to return. If someone gifted me the donuts, I would eat one, literally. I would be satisfied. If you like overly-sweet desserts and like new combinations, it’s worth a visit.
Lamar C — Google review
They have the best donuts ever! 🫰🏼 They are freshly made and super soft. You can eat easily up to 3 donuts, they use the right amount of sugar for the glazing and creams, is precise! The staff are friendly and speak English, able to explain about the flavors! The place is tiny but cozy and comfy. They have also sour flavors, also really good! The pin in the map is totally wrong, follow the address and re write it on maps to find the place! The price is regular for Hanoi center but the quality is the best! Must try: honey lemon grass + lebuties + garlic butter cheese rolls 🤩

It's an ideal venue for hanging out with friends, where you can indulge in a variety of reasonably priced drinks and desserts while enjoying the serene atmosphere, free from street noise.

Too much use of plastic in every thing they sell. It's terrible that large businesses show such little care for the environment. Pastries are not tasty. There is nothing truly Parisian here. No real croissant even. Not able to get a simple black tea here. Toilets not clean and out of paper. Definitely would not return
James G — Google review
The restaurant is quite spacious, but it feels more like a café than a proper bakery. Most of the baked goods are pre-packaged, seemingly intended more for takeaway rather than fresh, eat-in options. From what I observed, the pastries didn’t appear freshly made for dining on the spot. Many customers seemed to use the space more like a café, likely because of the decent seating available. We decided to buy a few croissants to go. The staff were friendly and polite, though their behavior came off as a bit unprofessional, they were casually joking around and playfully hitting each other while handling our order. While it wasn’t a negative experience, and I appreciate coworkers getting along, a more professional attitude would be better in front of customers.
Nguyen C — Google review
I can deal with getting half a cup of coffee. The worst part was there was NO soap, to wash my hands after the restroom visit! When i asked for soap, emloyees simply looked at me and said "No. Sorry." I asked to use the nearly empty bottle of dish soap by the kitchen sink. I had to add water 💧 to get anything out. I said, "So y'all aren't washing your hands?" They just ignored me. Never again 😒

Restaurant
Bún miến ngan is a delightful Vietnamese noodle soup that features delicate vermicelli noodles paired with tender duck, either boiled or grilled. This dish is often garnished with fresh herbs and vegetables, enhancing its flavor profile. Diners appreciate the rich taste of the duck meat and the accompanying ingredients like bamboo shoots and gizzards.
Great hidden spot in the alley. A bit dirty but no worse than your average Hanoi stall. Very good rich broth, can choose your carb (Vermicelli or rice noodle); with all the trimmings (liver, heart, gizzard, blood).

(Translated by Google) The food is authentic Hanoi, the broth is light and delicious, the price is reasonable, although it is in a small alley, the restaurant still has free parking in the yard. The guys outside often say that there is no parking in the alley so they can collect more money, people who come to eat just go straight to the restaurant.

(Translated by Google) Nga noodle shop No. 5, Lane 10 Kim Ma Thuong is located deep in the alley but is quite crowded. Usually customers are monks. You have to dial a number to get your turn. The owner is enthusiastic and the shop is quite clean compared to many similar shops. In addition to vermicelli - goose vermicelli with options you can order boiled feet. Quite an interesting experience. The shop opens from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm (Original) Quán bún Nga số 5, ngõ 10 Kim Mã Thượng nằm sâu trong ngõ nhưng khá đông khách.

(Translated by Google) The hot duck noodle shop in Kim Ma Thuong area. I was super impressed with this restaurant because the first time I came here, I saw that the restaurant was in a tiny alley where motorbikes couldn't turn around and it was very crowded. When I got to the restaurant, I had to queue up to get a number. The quality of the duck noodle here is delicious, the duck is firm and not mushy or smelly, both the mixture and the broth are very rich, a mixed bowl of 45k is extremely full, the price is reasonable. The restaurant is crowded so the service is a bit slow and sometimes the girls forget to order, the hygiene is relatively clean, the restaurant doesn't have air conditioning so it will be a bit hot in the summer. Overall, in the Dao Tan - Doi Can - Kim Ma area, I still like this duck noodle shop the most in terms of quality and price, I will definitely come back to support the restaurant.

(Translated by Google) Everyone, park your car outside the alley, there is a man standing guard, then go straight in. If you go by car, there is no place to park. I often eat duck vermicelli here because the service is very good, always remembers the dishes that customers order, and duck vermicelli is only 35k, which is very reasonable. Overall, I like it, except for 0.5 dong, the only thing is that the hand washing area is not hygienic. Everyone who eats says it is just right and the price is reasonable 💕 I wish the restaurant will always be crowded (Original) Mng để xe ở ngoài ngõ có 1 bác đứng canh sẵn xong đi thẳng vào nha. Đi oto là kco chỗ để đâu nè T hay ăn bún ngan ở đây nhất bởi cách pvu rất dthg, lúc nào cx nhớ món khách ord đầy đủ, mà miến ngan có 35k thì quá hợp lí. Tổng thể ưng trừ 0.5đ duy nhất cái chỗ rửa tay nhìn k được vsinh thôi. Còn lại ai ăn cũng bảo vừa vặn và giá cả hợp lí 💕 chúc quán lun đông khách ạ
