S'Patisserie, nestled in the Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi, is a charming bakery that takes inspiration from the delightful patisseries found along the streets of Paris. The cozy spot offers a chance to relax and enjoy traditional coffee or treat yourself to expertly crafted pastries and cakes.
The place has been renovated recently and it’s for sure the right spot to grab a traditional Vietnamese coffee. Also, they have different desserts choices worth the try. Highly recommended.
Abi H — Google review
We recently visited S'Patisserie for an afternoon tea and cake, having hoped there might be some dedicated high tea sets available for a more elaborate experience. While that particular expectation wasn't met, the patisserie itself is undeniably charming. The interiors are quite elegant, boasting a sophisticated decor that creates a very pleasant and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed break from exploring the city. In terms of the food, we found it to be generally "OK." We tried a selection of their cakes and enjoyed our tea, but nothing truly stood out as exceptional or particularly memorable. The items were pleasant enough, but perhaps lacked that unique spark or depth of flavor that would elevate them to a "must-try" status.

Lovely, cozy corner café with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxed mornings around the lake. The view is absolutely beautiful, and it’s a great spot to enjoy a quiet coffee while watching the city come to life. The manager is very friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even warmer. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Hanoi
Charles P — Google review
Lovely place with great views, comfortable sitting unlike many other cafes with great view but low standard for everything else. Their cakes are nice patisserie french style, their drinks are good too. Staff is competent and kind, doing the extra mile for you. In our case it was birthday candle on the cake we ordered.

I fell in love with this place at first sight! Beautiful cafe with very tasty pastries and coffee. I have oredere carbonara, lemon cake and blackberry cake, they were delicious. I highly recommend this place to foreigners who are tired of vietnamese food and search for testy food amd smooth service is great! The atmosphere there is very pleasant. I really liked the manager and also the waiters, they have nice personalities and care about their customers. I will certainly come back when I will be in Hanoi🤍 Come and try, you won't regret about this, believe me🌸

Very nice restaurant. Not sure what other patrons low stars are about?? Great staff, service and food. Phuong was very friendly and professional with great English. The USB wall charger was also a nice touch for flat iPhones!!! Thank you.

Wonderful coffee and cake shop. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. The rose and vanilla latte hit the spot on a rainy day. The views of the lake are lovely too.

Cafe
O'Douceurs Pastry Cafe, established in 2014 by French Pastry Chef Silen Garrigues, has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists in Hanoi. The cafe offers a delightful selection of cakes, truffles, and other freshly baked goods that have charmed visitors with their French quality. The cozy decor features comfortable sofas and large windows offering scenic views of Thong Nhat Park on the first floor and Thien Quang Lake on the top floor.
If you love croissant and pastry of the sort then you must really try this place out. The price is within reasonable range for a delight experience of a nice dessert/brunch. The decor is warm and friendly with rather comfy sofas. Huge glass window if that's what you want. Drinks are complimentary enough.
Nhã N — Google review
Got the almond croissant and plain croissant ordered via Grab. Super fast delivery. The croissants are big and fluffy outside, but the taste is really plain to my liking and not so flaky. Feel like bread with a hint of butter in it. Not the best though.
S T — Google review
All of the goods look so delicious - I had a hard time deciding - I would have ordered more if they accept card payment but as they only take cash or local transfer I went with three different dessert items and a drink. The staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Had to repeat myself several times not just due to language barrier but due to the fact they looked apathetic and would move as slow as possible it seemed. Not really enthusiastic type of energy. I went to the rooftop that although without a/c has a more enjoyable view. Although was lots of construction noise from nearby building. Would be nice if they have drinking water available for customers to stay hydrated while outside which many cafes otherwise provide.
Sarah H — Google review
Nicely present and tasty French-style desserts! I enjoyed the 'paris brest' which was well-constructed and delicious, and a hot chocolate. A nice way to wrap up the day!
Greg S — Google review
Nice little cafe, lots of very pretty and reasonably priced desserts. The staff was helpful and responsive when we had questions. They only take cash or local bank transfer, just FYI, no cards.
Sarah D — Google review
We wanted to see the sunset and stumbled upon this cafe with a rooftop. I think it’s quite unknown since there was nobody there, but the view was beautiful. We ordered 2 mocktails mojitos which I wouldn’t recommend, they were a bit too sweet.
Lau C — Google review
Pâtisseries of French standard at a reasonable price. The cafe is indoor air-conditioned with nice windows so we took a takeaway. The croissants were decent but the pâtisseries were amazing.

Not many seatings but the place is very lovely. Plenty of desserts options. Very delicious tiramisu and the saint honoure cake.

Saint-Honoré Phuong Mai in Ha Noi is a French-style bakery that offers a wide range of classic French pastries and sweets. It's a popular spot for bread enthusiasts looking for something different. The bakery also serves gourmet sandwiches, fluffy pancakes, and soft pastries with incredible sauces. While the prices are slightly higher than other local eateries, the outstanding taste and excellent service make it worth it.
Lovely coffee, pastry’s, yoghurt and juice.

Joma Bakery Café is a chain of cafes with locations in Southeast Asia, including Vientiane, Laos. The café offers a commercial vibe with ample seating near the counter, in a courtyard, and in an enclosed dining area with plenty of tables and chairs. It's known for being a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack. While slightly pricier than other similar eateries, it boasts a pleasant dining atmosphere with air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and complimentary water.
Lot of options here at Joma Bakery Cafe. We enjoyed our time here, on a quiet Sunday. The peanut butter brownie was a bit hard, but after a while it was easier to break apart. The peach drink was good, just as the blueberry muffin.

Freshly baked, convenient from where we stay. The shop is well display and attract the eyes. But I have to say the Cappuccino is not to what I used to have. Croissants filling is quite abundant with egg cream and baked in different style. Doughnut is good… A rest , quick bite for lunch, any time till 10pm is okie.

This café is one of my favourite spots in Hanoi. It's an oasis of calm amid the chaos, serving great western-style breakfasts, sandwiches, cakes etc. promptly and with a smile. I've been coming here every week for a year and it never gets old. 100% recommended.
Gordon I — Google review
I find the service very friendly and the food and coffee very tasty. It describes itself as a bakery café. However, there is more to be had here - delicious warm meals that are unusual for a bakery café. I would like to thank you for the great service. The ambience gets 5 stars, but it could be a little more. Overall, the bakery is a tourist-friendly destination. Thank you very much

Great food with a good value! Their food and drink là never disappoint. Can’t say enough how much we appreciate JOMA’s presence and what they have to offer in the city. Service has room for improvement though, especially with greetings and welcome when customers enter the store. Not professional when staffs joking and laughing with each other behind the counter, totally ignoring a group of customers walking through the door and to the ordering counter. Other than that, we had a great experience at the restaurant. Love what they have done with the place. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, La Badiane is a culinary gem that beautifully marries Vietnamese and French flavors. Their set lunch menu features delightful dishes like crabmeat brandade infused with dill and a refreshing yoghurt mousse drizzled with passion fruit sauce—perfect fuel for an adventurous bike ride around the stunning Ho Tay (West Lake).
This was highly recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent and very attentive. Love the ambience and the vibe. Such a lovely restaurant for couples, too. We ordered the 3 and 4 course set meals. Delicious and quite big portion. Even the chef greeted us at almost every table after eating. We were surprised that there was no service charge.
Connie C — Google review
I had too much meats on the day itself before entering. Saw the 4 courses of Vegetarian options, I did not hesitate to order it immediately. Every single dishes was crafted with efforts, nicely touch, great tastes. Never had the chance to taste greenery beyond the next level. Every dishes was well described by the staffs. Love the single details explanation from the team. Services was attentive, refill my glass promptly with the bottle of water ordered. This is a truly not to be missed restaurants in Hanoi 🇻🇳
Oscar M — Google review
La Badiane is a charming French restaurant tucked inside a restored colonial villa on Nam Ngu Street. The atmosphere feels elegant but not stiff — refined enough for a date or a business lunch, yet still relaxed and welcoming. The food is well-executed French cuisine with a modern touch. Seafood dishes, foie gras and desserts are consistent highlights, beautifully plated and balanced in flavor. The wine list is thoughtful, and the staff are professional and happy to recommend pairings. Prices are on the higher side for Hanoi, and the menu plays it safe — don’t expect groundbreaking creativity if you’re used to top-end French dining. The space is cozy and intimate but might feel a bit tight for large groups. Overall, it’s a reliable spot for a polished dining experience in Hanoi — great service, quality food, and a quiet, refined vibe without being overly formal.
Quynh V — Google review
Located in a quiet street, we found oursleves walking into a charming colonial "villa" through a lush courtyard that opens into a casual and elegant fine dining space. The 3-course lunch set has every dish artistically plated. Starters - Le Tzatziki is a beetroot ravioli with cucumber tzatziki, pink berry biscuit and kumquat vinaigrette. A uniquely beautiful dish. Flavours were light, vibrant and fresh. - Le Veloute is a cauliflower veloute that was creamy, rich and comforting. The snail butter mushroom parmentier added texture and earthiness to it. Mains - La-Gambas features breaded sesame prawns served with herb salad, sweet potato mousseline, green asparagus and a tomato-smoked parika coconut milk cream. An interplay of flavours and texture. Not bad but not mind-blowing. - La Paëlla is a scallops and mussels risotto with grilled chorizo, piperade and cognac bisque emulsion. It's rich with flavour of the sea with some tang and spicy-smokiness. A little more heat could help to cut through the richness. Desserts - La Banane tasted familiar like pisang goreng (fried banana). It's decadent with some crunch though a tad sweet. The taste of rum was quite muted but love the creamy coconut ice cream. - Le Tiramisu, La Badiane's version, has the layers and taste of my favourite dessert. Just that it was overly sweet and could do more of the liquor, coffee and chocolate to balance the sweetness. Service was exceptional and thoughtful. They asked if we would like to take a break before serving the desserts. Even giving us a complimentary dessert (love the sorbet!) as my friend indicated "Celebrating friendship" as the occasion. Definitely caught us by surprise and brought a smile to our faces. No wonder there were rose petals on our table.
Jessica C — Google review
Did a walk in and we had the set lunch (2 items). Good sized and nicely plated for the food. Service staffs are helpful and attentive. My friend raved about the tomato soup which you can check it out. Worth a visit if you are in Hanoi.
Hello T — Google review
Pretty disappointed with the food here for this price range in Vietnam. I had the five-course meal — the scallop dish was the best. The Wagyu beef honestly tasted like the braised beef brisket you get in Taiwanese beef noodle soup.
APRIL Z — Google review
Delicious, authentic French restaurant with unique character. Benjamin the headnchef - comes out to deliver the plates and greet you Staff are immaculate and made us feel very at least We had a 3 course set menu lunch and everything was perfect. Will certainly return here again when we visit Hanoi next. Beef carpaccio is a must try!
Mai V — Google review
La Badiane delivered a stellar fine dining experience — French elegance with Vietnamese flair — and every course showed thought, balance, and execution. Salmon Gravlax — Fresh, bright, and layered. The salmon was silky, with wasabi that came through clearly but never overpowered. Pomelo added acid and brightness, while dill Chantilly was an exceptional touch: creamy yet fresh, the perfect complement to fish. Pink peppercorn gave just the right spice, the sesame crust added crunch, and the ginger, red onion, and beetroot added freshness with a slight pickled note. It all came together in one perfect bite. Scallop & Prawn Ravioli — A dish that was giving lobster bisque in the best way. The smoked paprika brought depth, the prawns gave the broth its seafood body, and the scallop was succulent, buttery, and perfectly cooked. Honestly, there should have been two. The grilled chorizo added meaty flare that made the dish bold, while the lemon-peanut crumble added subtle texture. The only element that didn’t sing as strongly was the olive ratatouille, which I pushed aside so it wouldn’t dominate, but it paired beautifully with the baguette. Foie Gras Terrine — Foie gras can overwhelm, but here it was rich, savory, and decadent in the best way — and made even better by its accompaniments. The raspberry frangipane added nuttiness and brightness, raspberry being a natural match for duck. The strawberry-thyme chutney was smooth, sweet, and aromatic. The balsamic glaze woke up the palate, balancing the berries and nuts, while pistachio provided the perfect crunch and a peppery finish. Taken together, it was smooth and crunchy, savory and sweet, bright and acidic, umami-rich and layered — truly a flavor bomb. Beef Tenderloin — They absolutely showed out here. The steak was perfectly medium rare, juicy, flavorful, and so tender it didn’t need a steak knife. The truffle-pea risotto just made sense alongside mushroom duxelles and beef — creamy, earthy, and balanced. All together, it became the perfect steak dinner. But then they went further: a five-pepper sauce as the bed of the dish added body, warmth, and spice that coated every bite, while a Parmesan foam gave a final elegant flourish. A showstopper course, flawless at every level. Mango Lychee Dessert — I didn’t think it could get better, but the finale proved me wrong. This was the perfect series finale — bright, tropical, and light, but with depth and richness from the salted caramel ice cream. The pineapple was sweet without being too acidic, the mango was tender and perfectly ripe, and the lychee — flawless — made the last bite unforgettable. The Malibu coconut milk added subtle texture, the crispy rice gave fun crunch inside the ice cream, and the passionfruit sauce transported me straight to the beach. A butter crumble and cream layered it into a true dessert. Playful, seasonal, distinctly Vietnamese — a perfect ending to the meal. La Badiane doesn’t rely on theatrics — it delivers consistency, refinement, and balance across the board. A cozy villa setting on a rainy night, French technique married to Vietnamese flavors, and service that makes you feel unhurried. Absolutely worth the splurge, especially if you love French food with elegance and flair.

La Terrasse at the Metropole in Hanoi exudes a Parisian café vibe with its charming green awning and outdoor wooden deck seating. The adjacent Le Beaulieu restaurant serves up classic French cuisine and hosts a lavish Sunday brunch, while Spices Garden delights guests with Vietnamese flavors. The hotel also features three distinct bars catering to different preferences, from the sleek Angelina to the refined Le Club Bar and the laid-back Bamboo Bar by the pool.
By far my favorite spot in Hanoi for people watching, especially on the weekends when neighboring streets are closed for traffic. After 7 years in Vietnam this is definitely my favorite spot on the weekends. It doesn't hurt that the food menu is spectacular and that the service is amazing. If you have a few hours to waste getting the vibe of Hanoi and watching it's people can't beat this spot. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location with very comfortable outdoor seating. We had a light lunch & drinks for just short of 3 million VND. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Staff was friendly but service was extremely slow. We waited for 20 minutes from the time we asked for our bill and finished paying.

Madame Huong is a renowned bakery that offers an array of delectable pastries, including French-style bread, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, and mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn festival. With a decade of expertise in crafting high-quality sweet and savory treats, Madame Huong prides itself on its unique pastry decorations and customer-centric approach. The bakery also specializes in traditional Vietnamese cakes such as mooncakes, which are particularly popular during Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year.
One of my favourite places in Hanoi. I only wish the staff could speak more English so that tourists can easily communicate. I sometimes help tourists find what they want. Really tasty and really reasonable prices. A must come-visit in Hanoi. Only take away so if you want to stay then you need to buy a drink at the cafe next door which is also theirs.

Excellent local patisserie in Hanoi. Love it. Best value for money. Must try. Plenty of choice. Not too sweet and perfect for afternoon tea. Next door coffee is good too

Pretty good bakery where you can order and also sit outside to watch the world go by. They have a wide variety of croissants including plain, with ham and with cheese etc. We liked the egg tarts, pineapple and coconut balls and apple pies, which all tasted fresh. As a nod to the mid Autumn festival, they are also selling mini mooncakes with various fillings. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly as well.

We ordered two cakes. My husband enjoyed his chocolate cake. My cheesecake was tasteless and rubbery. There was only one table with chairs. We sat at the cafe next to it and ordered drinks.

Tried Tiramisu here, was pretty good! It was a takeaway and the experience was very smooth. Give it a try

When in Hanoi this bakery / patisserie is definitively worth a visit. Located between two cafes (where you can get the coffee to your pastries) is sells fantastic looking tartlets, cakes and savory pastry. We tested the sweet ones and all of them were really good. The caramel cream with the gold leaf on top, the red one with a mini macaron and the filling and the fruity one (which came with quite a rich amount of sweet shortcrust pastry). We took another three, which were also really good but I guess we should have bought the next day 😊 One minor point to improve in my humble opinion: There was a huge bouquet of real lilies in front of the shop, and while they looked really beautiful their scent is quite strong. Nonetheless, if in Hanoi, I would definitely stop here.

My third time visit. One of the best bakeries in Hanoi🇻🇳 There are huge varieties of bread and desserts. I especially like their pastries. Crossiant and Pain au chocolat are a must try!

Staff behind counter - poker faces, bad vibes, counting cash notes like street fight dealers. Asked if they had wheat free options - wasn't interested, bluntly said no! Then I found coconut balls and cheese yoghurt which WERE gluten-free I could have. Avrage, dry, like the staff. Dom's bother going if you are after quality and experience.

If you find yourself in Hanoi and have a penchant for sweets, Delica-Hans is the place to be! Nestled within the luxurious Lotte Hotel, this bakery offers an array of delectable treats that will surely satisfy your cravings. From rich chocolate cakes and delightful fruit tarts to buttery croissants that could rival those from Paris, every bite is a celebration of flavor.
This place might not have proper seating, but it more than makes up for it with its baked goodies, especially the quiche Lorraine, which turned out to be surprisingly nice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially ms. Hanh, who nailed my ridiculously tricky packaging needs.

Paris Baguette is a spacious bakery and cafe that originated in Korea and has now expanded to Vietnam. The menu offers a wide variety of baked goods, savory snacks like salads and sandwiches, as well as delicious drinks to complement your pastry. The atmosphere is cozy and not noisy compared to other coffee shops in the area. While some find the drinks average, others praise the delicious cakes and the warm, fresh air inside.

Came here to have some drinks and cake for a pick me up in the afternoon and left angry and stressed out. They had a promotion to get a free cheesecake for every bill spent above 200k. I decided to spend some more to get this deal, and was told that I was not eligible since my purchases had been registered as 2 bills. I asked if they could combine my two bills since they were consecutive orders, and were given really unhelpful attitudes from 2 of the employees. I asked what difference would it make to me how many bills they put my purchases in, since to me it was the same that i spent on one single purchase, and asked them to cancel the two orders to combine them in a single bill, to which they refused. It blew my mind thay they were willing to let a customer walk away angry because of their mistakes, instead of just giving away a mere pastry that the customer was entitled to in the first place.

Nestled in the bustling Hanoi Old Quarter, Colette French Bistro & Wine Bar offers a charming and romantic setting for an authentic French dining experience. The menu boasts classic dishes like beef capriccio and cold cut platters, as well as refreshing salads such as the spicy shrimp salad and goat cheese salad. With an extensive wine selection featuring 32 options available by the glass, guests can indulge in premium wines using the Enomatic Wine Dispenser system.
Wonderful French restaurant in Old Quarter. Crispy-skin duck confit and succulent escargots. Great wine selection and friendly service as well. Prices may be a little higher comparing to others in town but totally worth it.
Ed F — Google review
The food was generally on the sweet side. • The pre-meal bread was crispy outside, soft inside, with a rich buttery aroma. • The salami melted in the mouth, perfectly paired with truffle and nuts, and the salad was refreshing and balanced the richness. • The cheese platter was generous and paired nicely with the bread, adding a unique flavor. • The lamb chops were a bit too sweet with too much sauce. But it was super soft and mushy. • The steak (no photo) was tender, juicy, and full of beefy flavor. • The risotto was super rich and tasty, but as a risotto lover, I found it overcooked, mushy, and lacking that firm core. Also, the portion was honestly pretty small, though after the first bite, I was kind of glad it wasn’t bigger.
Desserts: The chocolate pie and lemon pie were both quite sweet. The crust wasn’t crispy, more like a dense, floury texture without much creaminess. The ice cream served with them was okay but felt unnecessary.
The cheesecake was also too sweet, overpowering the cheese flavor.
Service was super attentive, and the wine list was detailed, perfect for people like us who aren’t wine experts.
Kelly H — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The bread was warm and came with 3 different types of butter - salted, garlic and sweet n spicy. Only 2 pieces of bread were complimentary though, have to pay extra if u want to have more. We ordered the beef carpaccio, Brie cheese cromesquis and duck leg confit. The portions were enough for two people as we added extra bread. The duck leg was super tender- highly recommend. We also ordered wine, they have a good selections of wine and the wine menu was informative. Ambience was nice and quiet, tables were quite small so definitely suitable for date nights.

Food was amazing and service was excellent. They are known for their duck confit, recommended to reserve the order when calling to make a reservation. Price point may be a bit steep for the local folks. Will come back again.

A Hidden French Culinary Gem in Hanoi We had an absolutely unforgettable dining experience at Colette French Bistro & Wine in Hanoi. Every dish was not only delicious but also plated with the elegance of fine art. The ingredients were fresh, flavors refined, and each bite was a true delight to the tastebuds. We started with three appetizers: the Burgundy snails (escargot)—tender, buttery, and full of flavor; the pan-fried foie gras—delicate, rich, and beautifully executed; and the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and visually stunning. For the salad course, we had the Brie Cheese Cromesquis salad, which was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with contrasting textures. Our main course, the duck confit, was a standout—crispy skin giving way to moist, flavorful duck meat cooked to perfection. To finish, we shared the lemon tart, which was tangy, light, and beautifully presented—a lovely, refreshing end to the meal. One of the highlights of dining at Colette is their excellent wine pairing. The restaurant offers a well-curated range of wines, and the wine recommended to us elevated the experience even further. The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, and the staff were warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable about both the food and the wines. If you’re in Hanoi and love French cuisine, Colette French Bistro & Wine is an absolute must. This is French dining at its finest—we will definitely be returning.

A very cozy and Frenchic restaurants in Ha Noi Old Quarter. The owner and chef, being from France, brings an authentic touch to the menu. The wine selection is impressive, with classic and complex options that pair perfectly with the dishes. The quality of ingredients shines through in the dishes I tried. The butter is exceptional, and the scallop tartare is a standout - truly the best I've had. The steak is cooked to perfection, and I highly recommend trying the duck leg confit. If you're a fan of French cuisine or just looking for a great dining experience in Hanoi, Colette is definitely worth a visit. The attention to detail and commitment to quality make it a memorable meal.

Although the staff were very supportive and friendly, the quality of the cake was a great disappointment. Too dry to swallow… The whipping cream was just mediocre. What a pity for a popular brand!
Le L — Google review
Cake was horrible, a matcha mouse cake isn't supposed to be dry & chewy! I wouldn't be surprised if that cake sat there for a few days already. There is a layer of gelatine in the middle, kudos to the chef for being so bold in his terrible creation. At their price range, I didn't expect to be served with a plastic spoon either. The place is worn out, not so clean. Finally, don't get fooled by the naming, the only "Paris" thing here is the music from the 50s 😳

Dropped by since the coffee promotion (15% off for coffee drinks) and truly disappointed. Don't really recommend Thai Milk Tea Crepes since it's too heavy and creamy. But awesome service attitude helps everything. For new membership: you got 1 HIBISCUS drink for free There's only one floor so the space is really limited.

Clean, nice natural light. I order the soft serve matchamisu and the Thai tea milles crepe. The milles crepe as good as I would like because it had some Thai tea jelly things in-between the layers. It also didn't have much of a Thai tea flavor. The soft serve Matchamisu was great and what I wanted. Not sure if they use alcohol in the recipe, but it was nice and creamy with cake breading. I also ordered the a yuzu soda without sugar and the avocado peach smoothie without sugar. Which both were fine, but I could have used a bit more sugar in the smoothie (which was my fault).

Hotel
Nestled in the heart of Hanoi's French Quarter, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is a stunning neoclassical hotel that exudes elegance and history. Since its grand opening in 1901, this iconic establishment has been a haven for celebrities and dignitaries alike, from literary giants like Somerset Maugham to Hollywood legends such as Charlie Chaplin.
We were blown away by the service from check-in right through to check out. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary in Vietnam starting with Hanoi. Upon check-in I was greeted with a bouquet of roses and my husband and I with a ‘happy anniversary’ and welcome drinks. Throughout the stay we felt accommodated. We stayed on the old side of the hotel which was always kept clean and filled with fresh flowers which is something I personally appreciated. We also appreciated the rich history of the hotel by reading up on famous and notable figures that have either stayed or visited the hotel from their history wall. It was a great location for food and shopping and close to the Hoan Kiem lake. We will definitely return and stay here on our next trip to Hanoi!
Beverly B — Google review
We’ve stayed at quite a few Sofitels around the world, and we can honestly say this one is hands down the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the level of service blew us away. The staff were consistently attentive, not just polite, but intuitive and genuinely helpful. Every small request was dealt with swiftly and with a smile. The butler service was exceptional: it felt personal, seamless and truly five-star. Whether it was arranging transfers, organising in-room requests, or simply anticipating what we might need next, the butler team made a big difference. The hotel itself is an all-rounder: beautiful historic architecture, a superb location in Hanoi’s French Quarter, immaculate rooms and excellent amenities. We particularly enjoyed the sense of calm and elegance the moment we stepped into the lobby and garden courtyard. The breakfasts were outstanding, the dining options top notch, and the ambiance exuded luxury without being overly showy. In short: if you’re looking for a hotel in Hanoi that ticks every box, heritage charm + modern luxury + outstanding service: this is it. We will definitely return. Highly recommended.
Omar A — Google review
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by reception and our butler, Mikey. Our room—upgraded upon arrival—was not yet ready, so we were offered champagne while Mikey entertained us and shared excellent recommendations for the area. He also gave us a private tour of the Path to History and bomb shelter, since we were only staying one night and couldn’t join the full hotel tour. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive. The hotel was spotless and perfectly located. The breakfast spread was incredible. If you’re looking for a personalized, luxury stay, look no further. My only regret is not being able to stay longer.
Emily A — Google review
From the moment we arrived at the Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, we were enveloped in timeless elegance and genuine hospitality. The doormen greeted us with warm smiles and were eager to assist with our luggage, immediately setting the tone for what would be an extraordinary stay. Their attentiveness even extended to our departure day, when they went above and beyond to help our driver locate the hotel and ensure a seamless send-off—an example of the hotel’s impeccable service from start to finish. At check-in, we were warmly welcomed by Ms. Do Thu Ha, the Guest Relations Supervisor, whose professionalism and kindness made a wonderful first impression. She took the time to explain all the details of our stay and thoughtfully offered us the option to have our rooms grouped together or receive a complimentary upgrade to the Heritage Wing. Her attention to detail and genuine care made us feel immediately at home. Throughout our stay, the concierge team—especially Ms. Trần Thị Mai—was unparalleled. She patiently answered all our questions about the hotel and the city, offered insightful suggestions for how to make the most of a rainy afternoon, and even tracked down how to more of the delicious dried mangoes stocked in our room. Her enthusiasm and sincerity elevated our experience and reflected the heart of Vietnamese hospitality. While the hotel itself is a marvel—rich in history, beautifully preserved architecture, and an atmosphere that effortlessly blends French colonial charm with Hanoi’s cultural soul—it is the people who bring the Metropole to life. Every corner of the property radiates warmth, grace, and the quiet luxury that only a truly legendary hotel can offer. Our stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was not just comfortable, but unforgettable. The team’s professionalism, kindness, and attention to every detail ensured that our experience was as elegant as the hotel itself. We left with not only beautiful memories but also deep appreciation for the staff who made our time there so special. Thank you, Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, for an exceptional stay—we cannot wait to return!!!

I would like to thanks for Asst FO Manager, Dao and the female customer relation officer who helped us for checking in. Also the young staff from Le Club, Tuan. He was to helpful! Of coz all other girls as well. They all so pleasant. We enjoyed so much here for a night and sure this was one of our best memories.

Great hotel and the history behind it. The courtyard is nice providing outdoor spaces. Pool is rather small. Rooms and wardrobe are generally smaller than others but comfortable. Breakfast is great but during the stay, there are a lot of tour group staying which can be hectic in the morning and at the lifts.
Sunnyside U — Google review
Best hotel I have stayed in worldwide. From the moment we stepped out of our car the service was personal and thoughtful. Concierge gave us a private tour of the bunker below the hotel even though the tours for the day were full. We were also upgraded to a suite at no charge since we were only staying one night. Historical, beautiful, elegant, and a staff to match!
Zach P — Google review
One of the oldest and most consequential hotel in Asia, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is the only hotel in Vietnam to have its own bunker, constructed during the war to protect the hundreds dignitaries it has hosted since 1901; from Fidel Castro, Trump, and Kim Jong Un, to Charlie Chaplin and “Nick Fury”, its “who’s who” list stretches miles. Today, this living museum continues to deliver the highest level of hospitality. Every staff we encountered strikes that perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. Despite us arriving late at night, our check in and welcome experience went wayyyyy beyond expectations. The only downside to the Metropole is its compact design. Despite the tasteful interior, due to its heritage and historic architecture, spaces are stuffy when compared to modern luxury hotels. But, isn’t it the excitement of living in history?

I was in Hanoi for seven days and I went here for the days immediately after breakfast. they say that they open at seven but if they’re inside they have no problem selling you what they already have ready which is amazing and extremely hospitable. I have had three full baguettes Probably a dozen of these chocolate filled croissant rolls. They are so amazing and they have these other treats. That’s like a cream cheese raspberry and blueberry and strawberry croissant are so amazing too. I probably had a dozen of those. The staff are friendly and professional, and you can really feel that everything here is done to the highest standard.

This cafe is beautiful and the staff is very friendly 🥹 I got the cream and strawberry croissant which was very tasty, and not too sweet The second floor is a nice quiet area with a balcony. Favourite spot! ✨

We ordered ham&cheese croissant and honey toast and both are a bit dry. Drinks also are just okay, nothing special. Prices are a bit high for the quality of food and drinks. However the atmosphere is great for a slow weekend breadkfast. You can sit here enjoy the chaos vibe of typical Hanoi and spot the train too. Overall a good spot.

Cake shop
Paris Gâteaux is a delightful cream cake shop in Hanoi that has captured the hearts of many young locals. This charming spot offers not only an array of delicious and beautifully crafted cakes but also a luxurious European-inspired ambiance perfect for relaxation and socializing. It's an ideal venue for hanging out with friends, where you can indulge in a variety of reasonably priced drinks and desserts while enjoying the serene atmosphere, free from street noise.
Still a good place to hang out with friends

Too much use of plastic in every thing they sell. It's terrible that large businesses show such little care for the environment. Pastries are not tasty. There is nothing truly Parisian here. No real croissant even. Not able to get a simple black tea here. Toilets not clean and out of paper. Definitely would not return
James G — Google review
The restaurant is quite spacious, but it feels more like a café than a proper bakery. Most of the baked goods are pre-packaged, seemingly intended more for takeaway rather than fresh, eat-in options. From what I observed, the pastries didn’t appear freshly made for dining on the spot. Many customers seemed to use the space more like a café, likely because of the decent seating available. We decided to buy a few croissants to go. The staff were friendly and polite, though their behavior came off as a bit unprofessional, they were casually joking around and playfully hitting each other while handling our order. While it wasn’t a negative experience, and I appreciate coworkers getting along, a more professional attitude would be better in front of customers.

I can deal with getting half a cup of coffee. The worst part was there was NO soap, to wash my hands after the restroom visit! When i asked for soap, emloyees simply looked at me and said "No. Sorry." I asked to use the nearly empty bottle of dish soap by the kitchen sink. I had to add water 💧 to get anything out. I said, "So y'all aren't washing your hands?" They just ignored me. Never again 😒

Tous Les Jours has several locations in the city, but the branch on Hai Ba Trung is highly recommended for its extensive selection and ample seating. This location also offers a small menu of made-to-order breakfast items. The bakery is known for its delicious and reasonably priced cakes and bread, including sought-after sourdough bread. The staff are attentive and provide excellent service. It's suggested to visit during weekdays for a more relaxed experience.

Gourmet grocery store
The bakery "L'Epicerie du Metropole" is located in a colonial hotel dating back to 1901. It features a wide variety of pastries and sweet chocolate that always leave visitors wanting more. The croissants, Croquants, and macarons are some of the bakery's most popular items.
L'Epicerie du Metropole is tucked away beside the Metropole Hotel, along Le Phung Hieu street, and it's not too hard to find. They offer a variety of pastries and sweet chocolates that look very appealing. The menu is extensive and diverse, giving you plenty of options, and the prices are reasonable and fair. Grabbing some pastries here and heading outside to enjoy coffee in the Metropole courtyard is a fantastic experience. Get to savor coffee, indulge in pastries or chocolate, and enjoy the cool autumn breeze of Hanoi – truly wonderful.

As a French I can say this is not really French pastry. It was ok but compared to other bakeries way to expensive and the pastry in itself was neither flakey nor sweet.

I ordered and picked up a millefeuille. 750k vnd for a decent size. (Although they said it was 700k but actually charged my card 750k). But the main problem is that the pastry itself was not flaky as should be but was instead hard as a rock. Absolutely farce of a millefeuille. Filling was tasty. But the pastry itself was pretty lamentable unfortunately.

Coffee shop
Cafe Giảng, a historic coffee shop established in 1946 by Nguyen Giang, is renowned for its creation of the original egg coffee recipe. Located in Hanoi's Old Quarter on Nguyen Huu Huan Street, this old-school cafe offers the famous Egg Coffee at a more affordable price compared to larger establishments. The decadent beverage features a sweet topping made of whisked chicken egg yolk, Vietnamese powder, sweetened condensed milk, butter and cheese over strong coffee.
This place is easy to miss if one isn't looking properly. A quaint entrance led to the densely crowded cafe which on the inside is made of 2-3 floors. We ordered an egg coffee and a salted caramel coffee. Both the coffees were easily the best we have had in Hanoi so far. Thick, creamy, better than anything we've ever had or imagined. Would recommend to anyone in Hanoi ❤️
Poushalee D — Google review
Café Giảng offers an undeniably authentic piece of Hanoi history, as it is recognized as the original birthplace of the Egg Coffee stepping through the narrow, alleyway into the vintage, multi-level space is an essential part of the experience but its very crowded and noisy inside and not easy to find a place to sit . Regarding the actual drink, while the egg coffee is certainly nice and highly recommended for its creamy, rich texture—often compared to liquid tiramisu or meringue—you found that the taste experience was just "okay" and "not the best," despite its famous reputation. Ultimately, Giảng provides a mandatory cultural checkpoint for coffee lovers; visitors come not just for the best-tasting cup, but for the most authentic and first place to try the unique Hanoi staple. Pro (Authenticity): The original, most historic, and most authentic place for Egg Coffee. Pro (Atmosphere): Vintage, hidden alley setting offers a truly classic Hanoi experience. Con (Taste Subjectivity): The flavor profile is "okay" but may not be the "best" tasting cup compared to modern interpretations elsewhere.
Muhammad F — Google review
We last visited Café Giang back in 2022, and today’s return confirmed two things. Hanoi’s Old Quarter remains endlessly charming, and this egg coffee is still a heavyweight contender for richest beverage on Earth. The cafe sits in its usual tucked-away corner, all atmosphere and nostalgia. Unfortunately, so does everyone else in Hanoi. The place was absolutely packed, and within minutes we found myself wondering whether the queue was actually part of the experience. The egg coffee arrived looking beautiful, silky, and deceptively innocent. One sip in, and it was exactly as I remembered, delicious in theory, dangerously indulgent in practice. It’s the kind of drink that whispers, “Go on, you’ll be fine,” while simultaneously settling in your stomach like it’s signing a long-term lease. To be fair, it is a classic. But by the time I finished, I was equal parts impressed and mildly concerned for my stomach Worth trying once, worth revisiting if you enjoy culinary brinkmanship. As for me, I’m giving it three stars, part admiration, part survival.

A popular spot among tourists because of its history. It’s located by the main road but tucked slightly inside a small alley, though the sign in front makes it easy to find. We ordered their famous egg coffee. Vietnam is known for its coffee, but I can honestly say that Giang Café serves the best one I had in Hanoi. The coffee doesn’t taste eggy at all — it’s creamy, sweet, smooth, and still rich in coffee flavor. I absolutely loved it! 🫶🏽 The service was friendly and fast, even with the crowd. A must-visit when you’re in Hanoi! 🤗
Abigail K — Google review
We visited an excellent café where we tried the famous Vietnamese egg coffee as well as their traditional Vietnamese coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. You can immediately tell the place is highly recommended—there were lots of locals and tourists enjoying their drinks. The flavors were rich and unique, and I personally loved both coffees. Despite how crowded it was, the service was impressively fast and very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and definitely a spot worth visiting if you want to taste authentic Vietnamese coffee.

Good coffee known as the home of the egg coffee. The place however was extremely packed. We had no wait but it was like sardines in the place. Also IMO it is a famous internet spot but we had better egg coffee at other places but this one was the thicknest of them all but I felt not the best. Having said that better than any coffee I have ever had in the entire USA.
Kenny G — Google review
The og and mother of all egg coffees as this was the birthplace of it. Hidden behind a narrow alleyway lies this large cafe with multiple levels. I had an egg coffee earlier in the day so decided to try the matcha. My opinion is that the texture is so rich and thick that it reminds me of flan. These things are desserts to me and I can feel the calories being stored as fat in every sip I take of this heavenly concoction. Outside before the entrance to the alley sit 2 grandma's on each side selling these banana wrapped sticky rice treats. It appears that the coffee shop allows these to be eaten on site while you wait and drink your beverage.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Bún chả Hương Liên is a beloved eatery that specializes in traditional Vietnamese cuisine, particularly its renowned grilled pork dishes served with rice vermicelli noodles. This charming spot gained international fame after former President Barack Obama dined here with celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, leading to its affectionate nickname 'Bun Cha Obama.'
Very straightforward and tasty! Just take the Obama set, it’s an easy and good choice here. The bun cha was spectacular with succulent and tasty minced pork. Grilled taste is strong and the pickled vegetables in the warm broth were sweet and crunchy. Spring rolls were rather ordinary, but still nice due to the crab meat inside. There is air conditioning and the tables feel spacious enough for 4 people. Service is quite fast. Recommended to come here early around 10AM for less crowd.
Nat G — Google review
The bun cha is almost perfect! It tastes good with plenty of meats. The spring rolls are also nice. This place is popular because Obama visited here before. Staffs are helpful too. I couldnt give 5 star because the soup is not warm enough. The place is average and clean. Overall, i will come back :)
Moses P — Google review
Bun Cha is famous because Obama visited this place alongwith Chris Bourdain. They have even preserved those cutleries in a glass box and kept it for show. The outlet was crowded and we roamed around first 10 minutes looking for a table. The servers aren't much helpful and you'll have to navigate your own way trying to help yourself. After a lot of struggle, we managed to get ourselves a table and after more struggle, we could get hold of a waiter and ordered the Obama Combo - Bun Cha, Fried Seafood Roll and Hanoi Beer. The food arrived in few minutes. The Bun cha tasted good and made up for most of the poor service. However, the fried seafood roll was very average. We'd recommend this place for a one-time visit to just enjoy the hype. Service however needs a massive re-vamp.
Poushalee D — Google review
Just wow..This is a pork lovers heaven. Its famous as Obama visited this restaurant. You can see pictures of Obama everywhere in here. 5 Floors of seating and still it is packed at peak times. Speaking about the food , the Bun Cha is just incredibly delicious with generous portions of grilled pork. The first time we had the pork skewers which was melt in the mouth dish. Disappointed that we couldn't get it second time. It is a must try but finishes soon as high demand. I highly recommend first time eaters to try the Bun Cha and pork skewers here. 🐽🐖
Ramdas P — Google review
You can never go wrong with the Combo Obama. There's no discount if you go for this set- but it's more of a recommendation to taste the best of the menu. Come around 530pm. Plus we got the best seat in the house just next to the original table display that Bourdain and Obama dined on. :) Seafood roll was huge, but it came out quite late. It was so good, we got 2 more extra orders of this. Orders- 2x Combo Obama + 2 extra seafood rolls.
Irene C — Google review
60k VND to have what Obama eaten? Signed me up! I know how much hype it has been, but ofcouse it is fading since politician doesn’t last long. If it were Michael Jackson maybe it will longer? Haha, I don’t know. With this hype, the owner didn’t really jack up the price of the food, which I am very grateful of. So for 60k, much similar with any Bun Cha place, it offers a sweet bowl of Cha, a plate of bun, and a basket of vege/herbs. I had to deduct one star because the vege wasn’t fresh, and some leaves are even rotten. The experience is still a good one. The BBq pork is flavorful, with a hint of charcoal. The staff will offer the bill once they served the food, and just carry the bill to the counter at the entrance to pay up to the boss. It has a few floors up, and Obama table is at 3F. I wonder how long can they play this card as differentiation? One more generation? Hmmmm maybe I will never know. (Let this review be a testament proof)

Famous for having an episode of Parts Unknown filmed here with President Obama. I'd say the food lived up to the hype, plus it's just awesome eating in the same resterant they did. Bun Cha was great. It was served with an assortment of fresh vegetables. Noodles were good. Broth was delicious. It's definitely worth checking out when you're in Hanoi.

Such a hidden gem in Hanoi! I was invited by my friends for a quick lunch, and honestly, I really had no idea about this restaurant before. But wow, what a hidden gem tucked away in the old quarter! It’s a perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a cozy yet elegant vibe. The food? Just bang on. We ordered a 3-course lunch set menu with 2 options each. My starter was Oyster ravioli with green herb sauce. The ravioli made with squid ink was delicate and the oyster filling was fresh and rich which went really well with the green herb sauce. I should have ordered a glass of champagne instead of a kombucha… The main was Pan-fried salmon with pesto tagliatelle and red wine sauce - well, such a classic dish that I didnt expect much. But it turned out to be really good. The salmon filet was perfectly cooked and still moist inside. The pesto tagliatelle was fresh and the red wine sauce brought everything well together. Actually I wished to have a bit more of tagliatelle. The meal ended with a smooth and rich chocolate tart with a buttery crust, some red fruit coulis and caramel ice cream. The only flaw was the ice cream already melted a half of it right after being served (maybe as the weather was scorching?!) The service was also spot on—super friendly and attentive, nothing to complain. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal, absolutely worth the value. I will be back to try their A la carte menu but it looks a bit pricey.

decent food but the staff are god awful: not welcoming at all and will take any chance to snap back at you. I asked for a charcuterie board, she said we didn’t have them so I had to quite figuratively point the word charcuterie imprinted on the menu for her to reluctantly take the order. Not to mention they were just ordering each other around loud as hell right in front of all the diners. Honestly just surprised management hasn’t caught on after skimming thru the reviews here with people having experienced the same issues.

Wow!!! I’m amused. Had a solo night out and loved every bit of it. I was welcomed with a warm smile, the vibe was cozy and inviting with a touch of a top notch service. Quan, the bartender made an incredible Hanoi Pho cocktail and even shared the story behind it which made it feel extra special. Đình who took care of my table was super friendly, attentive and gave great food recommendation and the food Bun Cha itself was exceptional, way above what I’m use to. Even the wine glass was sparkling clean and that little detail really stood out. To top is all off, someone was playing the piano while I was there which added such a beautiful, relaxing touch to the whole evening. Definitely a place I would come back to. Solo or not

We had a fantastic anniversary dinner at Le Beaulieu. The food was not only delicious and thoughtfully prepared, but our attendant, Chris, made the evening even more memorable. He graciously explained the ingredients in each dish and shared some interesting stories about the food and the restaurant. The lobster bisque, veal and Charlie Chaplin cocktail were particular highlights, and the creative palate cleansers before and after the meal added a special touch. Would recommend!

I had the opportunity to experience an 8-course meal at Le Beaulieu restaurant located in the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. This was my interesting time exploring the sophistication of French cuisine, with each dish offering a unique and refined taste, from the lightness of the mushroom mousse to the rich flavors of the barbecued duck leg with Béarnaise sauce. However, what surprised me was the service experience. Despite being in a well-known and prestigious hotel, the continuous movement of the staff around the dining area made me feel quite distracted. There were moments when I wanted to focus on enjoying my meal but was interrupted by the frequent passing of staff on the walkways. Additionally, the nearby bar created some unpleasant noises, like machine sounds, bill printer, clinking dishes, and footsteps, which detracted from the calm and serene atmosphere that a fine dining experience should provide. Furthermore, some guests were speaking quite loudly, further diminishing the dining ambiance. That said, I appreciated the attentiveness of the restaurant manager, who listened to my feedback about the less-than-perfect experience. They showed thoughtfulness and professionalism by waiving the charges for the drinks that accompanied our meal, a gesture that reflected their care for customer satisfaction. This act helped me feel more valued and hopeful that they will continue to improve the environment to provide a better experience in the future. Overall, the meal was a delightful introduction to French cuisine, but I believe the service atmosphere needs more consideration and improvement to match the elegance that the menu aims to deliver.

EMM's French Bistro is a cozy and welcoming restaurant in Hanoi, perfect for social gatherings and special occasions. The attentive staff ensures a pleasant dining experience, with the owner's warm hospitality adding to the charm. The menu offers delightful surprises, such as an exceptional steak and an unforgettable Caesar salad. From reasonably priced and well-prepared appetizers like cheese plates and country pate to delectable main courses including duck dishes and carbonara pasta, the food is consistently fantastic.
We had quite a few dishes - from appetizers to dessert. Appetizers were very reasonably priced, tasty and well prepared. We had the cheese plate special and the country pate. For the main courses I enjoyed the best duck dish that I have had in Hanoi and my partner enjoyed a nice dish of carbonara pasta. The desserts were a nice touch - not too heavy - and tasted fantastic. All in all a very positive experience. For those of you who enjoy wine, they had a very pleasant cabernet sauvingnon on the menu - alongside a collection of alternatives.

It's a nice French bistro. But unfortunately the food was not super wow. We've definitely had better meats elsewhere. I must clarify that it wasn't bad but I sure am not rushing to come back again. We ordered a fair bit to share for 2. The salad was good. The French Onion Soup was a super small portion and lacked seasoning. The Escargot in Garlic Butter was definitely lacking the taste and fragrance of garlic. From the meat Platter, the Gojuchang sweet sauce on the pork Ribs was a little overpowering. We actually ordered another portion of just the Ribs because too hungry. The second round came out hard as a rock. Good thing was they were quick to offer to change it and made a new one for us and didn't even charge us for it. The Scallops in Cauliflower puree was pretty good. Scallop was well cooked.

Nice bistro with nice atmosphere. Ordered tuna salad and the mixed grill. Tuna salad was amazing (bear in mind I do not like seafood) the mixed grill did disappoint me though. The chicken snitzel was battered chicken wings that in my appinion had a few minutes to long in the oil, the pork skewer looked nice but had a bit to much pork taste for my liking. The steak was rare even though we asked for medium (the taste was good though) but very chewy, the sausage was good quality and cooked perfect.

Not really nice food, maybe not suit our taste. Duck meat is too dried up. Salad is too sour. Service is okay. The waiter just took up our dishes without asking whether we have finished or not. Atmosphere is okay, not too crowded and cozy.

Located in the heart of Hanoi near St. Josephs Cathedral and Hoan Kiem lake, T.U.N.G Dining has been a prominent player in Vietnam's culinary scene since its opening in December 2018. The restaurant's name, which stands for Twisted, Unique, Natural and Gastronomique, reflects its commitment to offering an exceptional dining experience with locally sourced ingredients and innovative 18-course seasonal dinners. Additionally, T.U.N.
Absolutely loved my experience here. It’s great to see a Vietnamese chef elevate the unique flavors of Vietnam. The dishes were thoughtful and creative. Also, as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, I’m glad they had a juice pairing option with some pretty unique flavors! Service was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and took their time to explain the dishes. The cards they provided explaining the dish and the origins of the ingredients were a nice touch. If I’m ever in Hanoi again I will definitely come back and see what new creations chef Tung has come up with.

That was a phenomenal and memorable experience. The food was outstanding and was presented in an astonishingly creative way. Each of the dishes secured an intense burst of flavour and every time brought a mystery with it. The staff was not only polite but also knowledgeable, able to present the dishes both in Vietnamese and English which helped me familiarise with the origin of each of the dishes. The restaurant was quiet, clean and beautifully decorated with a welcoming atmosphere. I genuinely recommend this restaurant and it's undeniably one of the best experiences I've had in Hanoi.

What an adventure for our palate! Each dish is unique yet oddly familiar, like I can’t do justice to them with just words 😅 We also enjoyed learning stories from the cue cards that came with each course. Overall a memorable experience for our birthday celebration & would love to come back one day. Big thanks to the very attentive, friendly & knowledgeable crew 🧡 You guys deserve all the credits!

An exquisite fine dining experience - we were greeted with warm hospitality from the whole team the moment we walked in. The interior is in a Nordic/Scandinavian modern style which is simple but classy. We love that each dish comes with a little card that introduces the dish. Each dish is meticulously designed with precision from its flavours to presentation, entwining Vietnamese indigenous ingredients. Truly a gastronomical journey and experience.

Absolutely mind-blowing evening at T.U.N.G Dining in Hanoi. 18-course tasting menu is a symphony of innovation, twisted, unique, natural, and utterly gastronomic. Surprised to Vietnamese twists on global flavors. Impeccable taste, intimate ambiance, and an unforgettable friendly staffs that elevated it all. This was pure culinary magic—worth every moment and penny. Extraordinary.

Dining at T.U.N.G. was an amazing experience. It put a ray of sunshine on our otherwise very wet and rainy holiday in Hanoi. The food was savoury and beautifully presented. I especially loved how chef Tung brought the flavours to his food and elevated it to another level. My husband and I left with full bellies and an unforgettable memories that will be replayed in our dreams tonight and nights to come. Thanks to all the team at T.U.N.G. for a wonderful evening.

I came back here for my birthday dinner and tried the new menu, The Treasure Gallery of Vietnam’s Flavors. It felt wonderful to see how Chef Tùng and the team growing this journey. The food has become even more focused and more confident, yet still playful in a very Vietnamese way. The evening began with a gentle shiso tea scented with Hoà Bình ginger and guava, then warm sourdough with chẩm chéo and Lý Sơn black garlic. A simple start that set the rhythm nicely. The toothfish reminded me why it is one of the signatures here. Buttery as ever, paired with Bắc Giang yardlong beans, clam and a soft curry that tied everything together. The menu moved smoothly from the bright lobster with pineapple and fermented tomato to the clever reimagination of phở. The broth carried the depth of sá sùng in true Northern style, and the whole dish felt both familiar and lifted. The carabineros course was a clear highlight. The umami from Cát Hải fish sauce, chili, onion and kombu wrapped around the sweetness of the prawn. The extra crunch from the carabineros cracker made the flavor pop even more. The veal with Mộc Châu strawberry and rice paddy herb was clean and refreshing, while the little Gia Lai pork bun beside the foie gras bún bò chawanmushi brought a fun touch that still tasted luxurious. Before the satsuma gyu A5+, the team brought out a hand forged knife. It added a small moment of personality that made the course feel special without being theatrical. The beef was excellent, and the cao lầu side won by a mile for me. Desserts were balanced and thoughtfully paced. The Đà Lạt sweet potato with Kristal caviar felt like the signature it is, followed by a bright tofu, lychee and soursop combination. The Đồng Nai chocolate with kumquat was smooth and warm, and the final taste of Bình Thuận red dragon fruit and starfruit ended the meal on a lovely note. Overall, the menu shows real intention and a deeper love for Vietnamese flavors. Service was warm, timing was smooth and the entire experience felt celebratory from start to finish. A beautiful birthday dinner and a very strong chapter for Tùng.

Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi - MGallery is a stylish property located near the iconic Opera House in Hanoi. The colonial facade blends with the French Quarter's vibe, while the interiors boast vibrant colors, mirrored ceilings, and contemporary art and architecture. With 107 rooms and suites spread across eight floors, guests can enjoy three dining options including a brasserie-style cafe, a Vietnamese restaurant, and a signature bar for evening cocktails. The hotel also offers spaces for corporate events and special occasions.
I flew in two days early to escape the impending Typhoon in Hong Kong and stayed in a King Sized Bed room and liked it very much. For the next three days I had booked the 77 sq m Suites Overlooking the Opera House. I was absolutely amazed at the size and Opulence of the Massive room tastefully furnished and Very Classy. I am seldom impressed but this place excelled and the staff and food were excellent too. I will be certainly be returning on my next trip to Hanoi

Room Condition: The rooms were old, poorly maintained, and neglected. Features like ancient TVs, yellowed smoke detectors, and unfinished renovations left a very negative impression. The walls were patched but never painted, and the carpet was outdated, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere. Bed Quality: The bed was made up of two single beds pushed together, with mismatched headboards, making it extremely uncomfortable for sleep. Interior Design & Ambiance: The room's interior was as chaotic and tasteless, with mismatched elements, a dark color scheme, rough plaster patches, and cheap purple wallpaper on the ceiling. Overall, the decor did not feel welcoming or cozy. Bathroom & Odors: The bathroom fixtures were outdated, and there was a strong, unpleasant sewage smell, adding to the discomfort. Hotel Entrance & Facilities: While the hotel entrance was somewhat decent, the door itself was described as plastic, old, and damaged, resembling a public restroom at a gas station, which diminished the overall experience. Safety Concerns: Despite the central location, the surrounding area was described as unsafe, with a "sketchy atmosphere," especially in the evening. Service Issues: Hotel staff took passports during check-in and then forgot about them, only returning them the next day without any communication or explanation. Value for Money: The hotel was overpriced, with a value far below expectations. It did not meet its advertised star rating, and the price was at least four times higher than the experience warranted.

Great stay here at M Gallery Hanoi. We kindly received an upgrade to the suite. Wow fantastic. So spacious, bed comfortable, bathroom spacious which is always a big plus. Breakfast and dinner facilities are excellent. Area is very modern and roomy. Food is fabulous and great variety Location is great Thanks to Minh for his hospitality and kindness in the coffee lounge area. Best Vietnamese iced coffee in town

We loved this hotel. Yes it’s an older hotel but that is what makes it lovely. The bed was comfortable, the staff were so friendly and the location was great. We liked that we could get to everything from it but weren’t right in the thick of all the madness. There was a big outdoor concert on outside the opera house while we were there and it was so loud outside. But inside we couldn’t hear a thing. Last but most importantly…. The buffet breakfast was amazing!! Thank you MGallery.

From the moment our cab dropped us off to the moment our bags were loaded onto the bus that took us to our next destination, the hotel staff were so professional and accommodating! We also took advantage of a 60min massage at the on-site spa, and the laundry service. Breakfast each morning was a delicious never-ending buffet, and we also enjoyed craft cocktails in the evening. The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are large and have everything you'd want or need. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful family vacation. My whole family was delighted with our stay at the hotel. I have been travelling to Ha Noi two or three times a year since 2015 (covid years excluded), MGallery Hotel Opera was the first Ha Noi hotel I stayed in. Each time I come back I try to stay here for at least a part of my time and even if not staying I visit regularly to enjoy the bar and restaurant. All the staff are friendly and approachable, I can't name them all as I am useless at remembering names but I will give a shout out to Minh in the bar, my favourite Ha Noi barman. It's also impressive that General Manager Alberto is always present and making himself known to guests and customers, It makes for a very welcoming experience.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Tranquil Books & Coffee is a delightful escape that coffee lovers and bookworms alike should not overlook. This charming local chain boasts several locations throughout the city, each offering its unique ambiance while sharing common features: inviting spaces filled with an extensive collection of English and Vietnamese literature, delectable pastries, and expertly brewed coffee.
If you’re exploring Hanoi’s cafe scene, Tranquil deserves a spot on your list. It’s a cozy, book-filled space that perfectly blends creativity and calm. The entrance can be tricky to find — look for an alleyway across from their bar. I happened to visit on a weekly public event night, which you can join with or without a reservation. I would recommend checking their Instagram for event schedules, and book beforehand since they get crowded later during the night. During events, they only serve non-coffee drinks, cold brews, and alcoholic options. I tried their matcha latte and tea fog, both tasty and fairly priced. Im in love with their interior. Warm lighting, wooden shelves, and an entire wall of books that makes the space feel like a haven for readers and music lovers alike. Overall, great ambience, friendly vibe, and perfect for anyone who loves a mix of coffee, culture, and creativity.

This place stood out to me on Google maps when I was finding my location in the area. I was imagining it much differently in my mind as more spacious and larger but it’s definitely more compact and less seating area than I thought. The inside is a bit cold with a/c on blast while outdoors it’s possible people smoke. You must take your shoes off on the upper floor and it has a room with some table and a couch and another balcony like seating area where you sit on the floor or a more spacious seat that was already occupied. Def yummy goodies and drinks here and the inspiring display of books and dark wood combo. Overall smaller than expected and could not feel totally at ease. Outside space would be better if they didn’t allow smoking. Staff come by to offer water now and again which is nice.

Very homey vibe inside with a western low volume playlist. Perfect to relax , grab a book, work or just simply chill in hanoi’s busy streets. Ordered The orange - lemon tea - it was light and refreshing. I usually dislike hot drinks but this one was good and refreshing to drink. Mango waffle with coconut ice cream. - the waffle was good and crisp despite eaten slowly. It paired well with the fresh mango slices and coconut ice cream. The waffle also did not sog despite being soaked in melted ice cream.

A cozy and aesthetic book café with a great atmosphere — perfect spot to impress your girlfriend 😉 Sure, sipping coffee on those plastic stools by the street is classic Hanoi, but when it’s hot out, this kind of chill, air-conditioned vibe is unbeatable. Great value for money, too. If you're looking for a relaxing escape with good coffee and ambiance, definitely check this place out!

Delicious coffee and a lovely vibe. The whole café is decorated with Beatles memorabilia, with good music and mood lighting. The service can be a touch slow for food as it’s just one person working, but I don’t mind that much.

There are a few stores in the old town area, make sure u are heading to the one u’d like to. This is a smaller one I think which is next to the Long Waits Jazz Bar. It’s Cozy and comfortable, and has 2 floors which upper floor is like an attic one, a bit squeeze. The brunt cheese cake tastes good. Overall, the vibe is chill at which u can enjoy the afternoon.
Anita C — Google review
Cafe dedicated to quiet working or reading, so if you're looking for a place to drink and chat, this is not for you. But it has a muted jazz cafe vibe, and I especially loved the mezzanine floor seating. Sunny kombucha was the winner for me.
Sarah L — Google review
Bit too cozy and too tight a space for me, it’s very difficult to have a private conversation here without eavesdroppers present, but it’s very popular and my pandan coconut drink was excellent. Free parking tickets issued and staff are really kind.

Capella Hanoi is a luxurious 1920s-style hotel in Hanoi, offering top-notch amenities and services. The hotel boasts two restaurants, two bars, a spa, and an indoor pool. Guests can enjoy dining in an opera house dressing room and witness a nightly performance by a diva dancing to 'Diamonds Are Forever.' Each room is uniquely designed after a starlet of the roaring 20s.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Capella Hanoi, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome with their warm and professional service. Every detail was attended to with care and consistency, reflecting the high standards one would expect from a world-class hotel. The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. The attention to small but meaningful details truly stood out. One particular feature I appreciated immensely was the automatic toilet with a self-opening and closing lid – such a thoughtful and hygienic addition that added to the overall sense of luxury and convenience. As someone who follows a vegetarian lifestyle, I chose to dine at Backstage for dinner. While the vegetarian menu was somewhat limited, the staff went out of their way to accommodate my preferences. They were attentive, thoughtful, and made sure I had a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the food, although not overly diverse, was well-prepared and satisfying. Overall, Capella Hanoi delivers not just in aesthetics but in the quality of service, comfort, and personal touches. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a refined and memorable stay in Hanoi – whether for leisure or business. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Hanoi

Capella Hanoi stole my heart. I left with tears in my eyes after the most unforgettable birthday: a surprise suite upgrade, breathtaking decorations, and a cake that carried all the warmth of their care. Capella is pure magic, without a doubt the finest 5-star hotel I have ever stayed at. Every detail, from the stunning design to the impeccable service, exudes beauty and refinement. Among the many wonderful moments, one stands out in particular: Ruby, who made my evening at the speakeasy bar absolutely incredible. Her warmth, professionalism, and unique charm turned a simple night out into an unforgettable experience. Capella is more than just a hotel...it is a world of elegance, artistry, and enchantment. A true masterpiece that sets a new standard in luxury hospitality. Thanks a lot for everything 🩷

We often sit at Capella to enjoy afternoon tea, a romantic setting with gentle music that we truly appreciate. The staff here never fail to surprise me with their hospitality and warmth. Thank you, Nhi, for recommending the Carmen tea, it has become one of our favorites and almost a must have for every afternoon tea. We also really appreciated her thoughtful recommendations on the hotel’s restaurants. This will always be one of my favorite spots, and I will certainly come back many more times

Hoa Do was exceptional. I have truly never had a better facial, which was a combination of the Vietnamese facial and gua sha. The facial technique was excellent, uplifting, and so relaxing. I have never experienced such an effective facial that felt good and intentional. The spa is beautiful and no detail has gone unnoticed. It’s a stunning atmosphere. Everything was so indulgent and perfect. Thank you!!!

Our stay at the Capella was nothing short of fantastic. The price tag is more than the rest but the service and quality of everything in the hotel more than makes up for it. The staff pay attention to all of the details, and make you feel like Capella is a home away from home. We went to the space twice, and loved the massage and body scrub. At the spa, Tudoi and Sunny were fantastic. I highly recommend.

Capella Hanoi was the best hotel I stayed at in Hanoi. The service was exceptional, and the concierge team went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and seamless. While it’s definitely on the pricier side for what you get, it stands out as the best luxury option in the area. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined and personalized experience in Hanoi.

Capella Hanoi is stunning with some of the most unique rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Each one feels like a piece of art, full of character and thoughtful details that make the stay memorable. Also, The Hudson Room was a real highlight. A beautiful space with a cosy yet elegant vibe, perfect for cocktails and dinner. Service throughout the hotel was warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel special. Will definitely return when I visit Hanoi.

Absolutely a five-star experience! We stayed in a Junior Suite – spacious, stylish, and with an incredibly comfortable bed. The only minor drawback was that the soundproofing could be improved. The evening piano performance with complimentary drinks and canapés was delightful. Staff were very friendly and attentive, with the team at The Hudson Rooms especially welcoming. Breakfast at Backstage was unforgettable – generous, diverse, and simply outstanding. Capella Hanoi is a hotel I would definitely love to return to.

Cousins Restaurant Đào Tấn is a charming French eatery nestled in Tay Ho, offering a perfect setting for a romantic evening. The ambiance strikes the right balance between casual and upscale, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. The restaurant features a lovely candlelit garden that remains open even during the winter months. Their menu boasts delectable dishes like monkfish fillet and quail pate, prepared by a team of skilled chefs.
Cousins Daotan is always my favorite when im craving for somethings special and a hidden place to enjoy good foods and pleasant time with my beloved’s. The garden is way too charm, and their friendly staffs are always very helpful :) Cheers to Cousins. Keep it up.!

Liked the atmosphere and interior. The staff and service are ok. Some of the food is really good. Some are really overpriced. From what we tried: Overpriced and not that good: - Prosciotto crackers - Salmon tartar Liked: - Homemade sausage - Sausage Metter - Steak Frietes (ordered medium done but got rare, had to ask to cook it more, then was good) Paid 2.2M for 4 people

I ordered: • 1 Seafood & Squid Ink Noodles (8/10): The restaurant’s black noodles are made with squid ink — soft yet still pleasantly chewy. The seafood quality is good for the price. Surprisingly, the dish pairs well with cheese. However, I wouldn’t recommend this for those meeting clients or customers, as the squid ink will stain your teeth. • 1 Broccoli Soup + Lemon Juice + Tea combo (6/10): If I could order again, I wouldn’t choose this combo. The soup isn’t creamy or rich, and it would have been better to order a different soup from the menu. It’s just 50k, we can acceptable. • Crème Brûlée: Distinct passion fruit aroma. The cream is rich and flavorful. SERVICE: 2/5 — The waiter during the lunch shift on July 4, 2025, repeatedly called me “miss” when I’m actually “mister.” This might seem like a small issue, but it made a big impact. It’s the main reason I would never want to return. I cannot accept a restaurant where staff communicate in such an unprofessional, street-side manner.

I have been to Cousins many times with friends, family, and even for work events, and the experience is consistently good. The food is straightforward, mostly well-cooked meats that go well with drinks, and quality is reliable even when ordering through Grab. What I quite like is the setting. The outdoor seating is beautiful in Hanoi’s autumn evenings, with warm lighting that makes it feel both hidden and classy. Tucked in a small alley, it can be a little tricky to find, but that adds to its charm and very Hanoi vibe. For me, Cousins is how I would like to remember Hanoi. A bit Western, but also low-key and consistent.

Hidden Gem! Dropped in for lunch. Light crowd for a Tuesday afternoon allowed for a calm, relaxed, & welcoming ambiance. The staff were attentive & knowledgeable about the menu items, seasonal food options, & recommendations. Food came out quickly & and, although portions were moderate (dining solo, so more than adequate), they had tremendous flavor in a simple, understated yet delicious manner at a reasonable price. Will certainly be visiting again & telling my friends about this hidden gem, tucked away but easily accessible!

Artemis Pastry & Coffee Shop offers divine pastries and lattes in an atmosphere that is both cool and inviting. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the space is very large.
Superb both cakes are amazing, njce balance of sweet and sour. Strawberry and Passion Fruit were fresh. My drink was also great, not to sweet. Matcha drink was awesome too, enough bitterness and sweetness, either was too much. Location: Nice atmosphere, comfortable chairs, very clean place, volume of the music is alright, don't bother me, still be able to talk with my girlfriend. Steats were great, no wholes and not dirty, I checked after reading a comment about it. 😁 Prob6they fixed the issue after the feedback from 11 months ago. 👍🏻 Service: Cashier was helpful even mentioned the current discounted offers. We got our order within 2-3 minutes. Later oo one server even came to everyone to ask about our satisfaction. He was very polite. Price: It's alright fir the quality but for most Vietnamese this is more expensive. Drinks 65k VND other places the matcha with cheese cream is around 40-55k. Cakes are above 100k, our choices were 115k each. So it was 360k in total.

A modern building in Hanoi, Artemis Café feels more like stepping into a boutique spa than a coffee shop — spotlessly clean, minimalist, and calming. We visited in the afternoon, and while the space itself was pleasantly quiet, it had clearly found its way onto the local influencers’ radar: nearly every table seemed occupied by someone staging the perfect photo shoot. It made for a slightly amusing backdrop, but didn’t detract from the overall experience. The staff were polite and friendly, though service was simple and unobtrusive rather than memorably warm. The real highlight, however, was the cakes — beautifully crafted, both visually and texturally, with vivid colors and delicate, well-balanced flavors. Each dessert felt carefully designed, not only for appearance but for genuine taste. The coffee was also very good — well-prepared and smooth, a strong companion to the desserts. Pricing is fair for the quality and the setting, aligning well with what you’d expect from a contemporary café experience. A small but important note for travelers: they do not accept international credit cards. Local cash or domestic payment apps are required, so it’s worth coming prepared. Overall, Artemis Café is a lovely, quiet stop if you’re looking for a clean, stylish place to enjoy excellent cakes and coffee. It’s not a must-visit destination in itself, but if you find yourself nearby — or need a break from Hanoi’s energy — it’s a refreshing little haven worth enjoying.

I ordered the Tropical Coconut. It was delicious; not too sweet for my liking and the pineapple and coconut mixed with the mousse were good combi, bringing out a hint of sourness and sweetness. Awesome! Staff were friendly and served you well. Most importantly I love the ambience, it’s super cosy, clean and has an elegant feel for comfort. It’s so pleasant to the eyes

Could this be THE TOP Pastry Cafe in a city setting? Seriously, I wanna come here everyday! The Oak Matcha Latte is so creamy and rich without bitter. It’s a light dessert in itself. The lighting is so perfect for reflection and, I think, “Life is Good”. Pricing is really “affordable” for what you get, considering regular coffee is the same price anywhere else.

Only If you like a so so cafe with bland decorations and ok cakes. ( it was filled with local pretty girls influencer wannabes spending hours in this cafe making Selfies & posting on Instagram) Their best seller was the passion fruit mango thing (refer picture) and it was ok. Not too sweet not too sour . Overall and ok cafe spot (spent 565K for 2 desserts and 3 drinks) if you are tired of walking around the French Quarter in Hanoi.

Meliá Hanoi is a sophisticated hotel with a conference center, upscale dining, and a bar. The hotel's sleek European-style hospitality is complemented by local influences, such as traditional murals and lantern-inspired lighting in the guest rooms. Located in the Hoan Kiem district, it offers easy access to urban exploration with attractions like the lake and Old Quarter within walking distance.
Had a fantastic experience here as a Melia Gold member, the staff was very attentive but the room cleaners really stood out and did a fantastic job! I would like to thank Tengchan for her warm and welcoming attitude when I arrived on my floor. The gym is very well equipped and the location is great, also if you are looking for more basic local food options. Another highlight is the live jazz music twice a week in the lobby, what a talented singer! As it may be useful to know, note that the WiFi is sufficiently fast to do proper remote working using Teams video calls etc. All in all a great experience!

There were plenty of halal food options, the staff were very attentive and the location was perfect, right in the heart of the city. The gym was large and well equipped, though the pool was a bit small. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended for both business and leisure travellers.

I stayed at this hotel for five nights and had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff was very kind and efficient — he made my check-in quick and easy, which I really appreciated after a long, tiring journey. Room service was excellent, and the café in the lobby is a lovely spot to relax or chat with a friend. There are also plenty of areas to unwind, like the poolside and the bar on the third floor. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. The lady who cleaned my room was especially kind, and the guy at the gym was very thoughtful, always checking if I needed anything. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely. The warm atmosphere and the excellent service made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. I truly felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights and held a small training event. Even before I arrived the team were very helpful and informative in arranging venue details. On arrival after a long flight I was met with a warm and attentive reception and efficient check-in. Although I had not been here before it felt as if I was being welcomed “home”. The room was large and well appointed with a comfortable bed, a good working space and a large shower… all the things a business traveler could ask for. Mosaic restaurant offered an excellent breakfast and lunch buffet with Asian and western choices that were always fresh and regularly replenished. The service team were always welcoming and helpful and remembered my day-to-day choices such as how I preferred morning coffee. This gave a sense of being cared for. Organisation of the event was extremely professional and seamlessly handled. Everything I had requested in advance was set-up exactly as requested and all technology was up-to-date and immediately compatible with my own devices. Food and beverage at break times was supplied exactly on time and fresh and appropriate for their type of event and a service coordinator was always at hand to help wherever needed. Although all function rooms were busy around us, and ours was probably the smallest event be held, we always felt as important as any other event and the layout and service was coordinated in a way that we were never impacted by other events. Overall, I highly recommend Meliã Hanoi as an excellent place to stay and to hold a business event.

From the moment I arrived at Melia Hanoi, I was impressed by the seamless check-in process and the warm professionalism of the staff. Every detail of my stay was handled with precision and care, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to excellence. The room was immaculate—spacious, elegantly furnished, and equipped with all amenities. Everything worked perfectly, from the climate control to the high-speed Wi-Fi and entertainment system. The bed was exceptionally comfortable & super big size, and the housekeeping team ensured it remained pristine throughout my stay. Service across the board was outstanding. Staff were consistently courteous, attentive, and proactive, anticipating needs before I even had to ask. Whether it was room service, concierge assistance, or dining at the in-house restaurant, every interaction was a pleasure. In summary, The Melia Hanoi exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s a rare gem where luxury meets flawless execution.

Meliá Hanoi is a fantastic hotel with a great location—quiet and peaceful, but still just a short walk to the Old Quarter and French Quarter. It’s the perfect spot to relax while being close to the main attractions. The staff were amazing: professional, kind, and very helpful. Special thanks to Tung Do, who went above and beyond throughout my stay. He was always available to assist and offered great suggestions. His level of service made such an impression that I thought he was the hotel’s GM! Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

I hadn’t been to Vietnam in 10 years, and choosing Melia Hanoi made my return truly special. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way — from the comfortable rooms to the warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. A big thank you to Ms. Nhung and Ms. Hieu for their excellent service and kindness. Their attention to detail and friendly attitude made my stay unforgettable. And I have to say, the “dep trai” compliment definitely made my day! I’ll be coming back to Hanoi much sooner this time — and Melia will be my first choice again

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi's bustling business district, Hilton Hanoi Opera stands as a beacon of elegance and modernity. This stately hotel is just a stone's throw from the iconic Hanoi Opera House and offers easy access to the vibrant French Quarter, making it an ideal base for both corporate travelers and tourists alike. The hotel's stunning Beaux Arts architecture features a grand two-story lobby adorned with impressive marble columns and an exquisite crystal chandelier that sets a luxurious tone upon entry.
Although this hotel is a little older, I was extremely happy with it. The cost is about what you'd expect for an upscale accommodation in the area (maybe slightly less) and it's well worth it. The service was excellent, answering all my questions, and everyone spoke English very well. The rooms were also a generous size. The best part is the location, right in Old Quarter and walkable to many of the best parts of the city. The only downside is that the executive lounge was closed, but hopefully they will open it up soon.

Very good experience at this hotel, staff takes great care of guests especially Son, he goes above and beyond expectations. As others have mentioned the rooms are a bit dated, however the cleanliness and care the staff takes more than makes up for it. After a 3 week trek through SE Asia, they have by far and away the best breakfast buffet of anywhere we stayed… not even close!
Chris K — Google review
The rooms are a little dated but they're always quiet and clean. The service however, is really very good. Everyone is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I've stayed in the hotel for nearly two months in 2022 and was made to feel very welcome. I would book it again without hesitation.

Good old hotel and my favorite for over 20 years. Pros- a good central location, a nice spacious room w bath tub, clean, quiet. Cons- the hotel need a comprehensive renovation soon to meet client expectations. Pool closes at 6:00PM and the pool bottom must be cleaned abd water should be colder. Wish to return.
Dora N — Google review
Stayed here for a recent trip to Vietnam. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Location was very good, with decent food options and attractions within walking distance of the hotel. Some aspects of the hotel were closed or had limited service due to the pandemic, but it wasn't a material detriment to the experience. Highly recommend the sweet tea options at the bar. Furnishings are slightly dated, but very well kept. I would stay here again if I end up going back to Hanoi.
Michael R — Google review
As with all large hotels the deco is quite drab but it is bright and well kept in the main. The hallways between rooms are a little dated and worn but the rooms themselves are in good order as was the gym, sauna , pool, bar and lobby. Rooms are enormous, bathroom has separate shower and bath. Bed is very comfy and linen is good quality. Staff are very helpful and polite. A good stay.
George D — Google review
The hotel is a bit dated, but still maintain the cleanliness. I think if they renivete the interior like changing new carpets and brighter light, the hotel must be looking good. The best part of the hotel is that it is at the city centre and also near to the walking street where every weekend starting from 7PM. Good location, good food.
Christopher T — Google review
Absolutely love this hotel and the rooms. Have been here 5-6 times now and have only ever stayed in a Suite. Very impressed with them! The beds are awesome. Perfect for me and my wife - so much that we want to buy one for our home. The separate living area and having 2 bathrooms is fantastic when you have a child. Everything in the room is as it should be. Someone mentioned being outdated but I thought it was far from outdated with a new Samsung 40in TV in the room, plus fridge and bar in the room with snacks. Hard to find better hotels than this. Room size is also very good compared to other hotels we’ve visited. Room service also never lets us down so I’m always willing to rack up a few extra $$ on the bill to dine in. Menu is great and food always good. I can’t honestly think of any downside. Perhaps the view we had this time wasn’t that great - so we just kept the curtains drawn. Located in the best area (in my opinion) of Hanoi, very close proximity to anything you need and very safe here. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi, Somerset Grand Hanoi is an informal apartment hotel that serves as a fantastic base for exploring the city's rich culture and attractions, including the vibrant Old Quarter and the captivating Thang Long Water Puppet Theater. This property boasts 185 spacious serviced residences, each thoughtfully designed with fully-equipped kitchens and modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy delightful dining options at Jaspa restaurant or unwind at Papa Joe's and Highland Coffee.
We stayed here for more than ten nights and had a great experience. The hotel is a bit on the expensive side, but when you calculate the benefits, it’s definitely good value for money. The rooms are spacious and come with a well-equipped kitchen including an oven, microwave, a large fridge, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent—just a 10-minute walk to the lake. On the ground floor, there’s a convenient supermarket (open 06:00–22:00), which made daily life much easier. The hotel also offers a very large swimming pool on the 4th floor and a well-equipped gym for exercise. The staff were generous, welcoming, and always helpful. There’s also a restaurant on the 4th floor, and if you enjoy pickleball, you even get a 10% discount. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend this hotel. ⭐️ Very recommended! P.S. We also had a great experience at a nearby small vegetarian restaurant called Abrokado—very tasty food, worth trying.
Rave G — Google review
This hotel was actually a requested downgrade (5 star to 4) through our travel agent and we couldn't be happier with our choice. It came with a very large pool for the kids (7 and 10yrs old) which occupied them into the night as well as pool table and ping pong. The gym was more than adequate for myself. The staff were all amazing. Very welcoming and friendly especially Johhny Nam who worked poolside. We had breakfast included everyday and purchased the occasional dinner. All food was really good. We would definitely stay here again should we visit Hanoi from Australia. The location was also very central and most things within walking distance.

Stayed here for 1 night after our Ha Long Bay cruise was suspended due to a typhoon. Nice spacious rooms, a little tired. A bad smell in the hallway but pleased to say it wasn’t in our room. Great pool which we enjoyed with the kids. Breakfast was great too. Comfortable, but a bit more of a walk to Old Quarter.
Katie L — Google review
Great service during our stay. Everyone is helpful and went up and beyond especially when we asked for assistance with our broken luggage, and help to get our bus reschedules due to the typhoon. Very convenient location with spacious rooms. However, hallway needs more cleaning, master bathroom is sooo hot due to multiple inverter exhaust fans placed outside, and bidet pressure is too strong. Nevertheless, I will still stay here again especially if we’re a big group. It’s comfortable and enjoyable especially if you’re looking for homey vibes
Antonio T — Google review
I’ve always stayed at hotels under the Ascott group, but this time I had an extremely terrible experience. For a so-called 5-star hotel, the reality felt more like a 2-star one! The entire room smelled musty. The air conditioner was very old — when it was running, I could literally see dust and smell the damp, moldy air coming out of it. It was almost impossible to sleep with that odor, so I had to spray perfume and place scented papers around the room just to get some rest. The toilet was not clean, the shower curtain and shower head were rusty, and there was a musty smell coming from the wall area near the shower. The washing machine was old and dirty, with sand and small pebbles inside. I had to call maintenance to fix it, and when I washed my white clothes, they came out stained because of the machine. I understand it’s an old hotel, but at the very least, the management should renovate, replace outdated equipment, and repaint the rooms — especially given the price of a 5-star hotel. I will never come back again.

We stayed here for 3 nights, And were very satisfied with our stay. Location was great, walkable here and there, Nice neighborhood. Booked a 3 bedrooms apartment, decently furnished, great kitchen, equipped with a washing machine, and water refill as well. Surprised with the pickle courts on the 4th floor, so lively.

Just spent a week at somerset grand with my family and we had a fantastic time. The service was efficient, especially in the restaurant, and our rooms were spacious and spotless. Our room service lady- Le Thi Phuong was thorough, and timely always making the rooms up when we were out to a high standard. Thank you for a amazing experience enjoyable holiday would recommend 👍
Rebecca — Google review
The location provides a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarters and sightseeing. It was nice to be able to walk to where we wanted to go, and also be able to discover local sights and sounds as we made our way. We ordered a car via Grab when it rained or when we got lazy and it was affordable and convenient. The apartment itself was great - clean and spacious for the 2 of us because we booked a 2-bedroom executive. It could have easily accommodated 4 persons. A water dispenser was included in the room, which was nice, because it meant we did not have to lug bottles of water back to the room. We didn’t have much to do with the front office other than have them help with a reservation and check-in / out and the experience was as expected. Some may be sensitive to the noise of sirens due to the nearby hospital but it did not happen often so it did not bother me too much. A good base from which to visit the city centre from.

Located in a residential area of Hanoi, bakery Chez Moi specializes in macarons and cakes. The shop is well-known for its colorful and delicious macarons as well as variety of cakes.
It is near me, so i gave it a try, i always have some some shopping to do nearby. Well thank God i came into this wonderful little shop. Their Red Velvet cake is legendary! The deliciously moist cake with the creamy frosting is just perfection! They have black forest cake as well, and a lovely strawberry cheesecake, which is my second favorite after the red velvet cake. Other cakes in the selection i must try later. The design is cozy, and the fancy tableware. Wow! You can have your high tea anytime!

Amazing cakes and friendly staff. Don’t miss to try their Red Velvet or any of their Cheesecakes - they belong to the best cakes in Hanoi. Prices are reasonable at 48kVND/piece. Enjoy!

We were after an Australian/English style cup of tea and (with a couple of tips,) we were served a very nice cup from a lovely tea set using fresh unsweetened milk (not condensed milk). Our server was happy to learn how to make the tea properly and we would be happy to go back.

Red Velvet is really delicious but Tiramisu is too dry. Costly.

Definitely my favourite bakery in Hanoi <3 Have tasted and love almost all their kinds of cake (except for the durian one). Price is good and staff are helpful. You should not expect much of decoration or view for enjoying coffee, but it's not really important cuz the good cake makes up for everything :)

La Salsa Tapas Bar & Restaurant is a Mexican chain that offers a variety of options at its salsa bar. The tapas bar is a great spot to meet friends for pre-dinner snacks and cocktails, while the restaurant on the second floor serves classic French cuisine. The cozy restaurant has an old-school Spanish vibe with friendly and professional staff. The food, including the delicious chicken Paella, is highly recommended. Additionally, the place offers fine wines and clean facilities for a pleasant dining experience.
The food here is amazing 😍 I went at lunch time. The place was empty but I had the lunch time offer of paella, salad and a tea or coffee for about 150k. I had the black paella and it was beautiful.
Hannah G — Google review
We visited La Salsa for dinner yesterday. Firstly, the restaurant is upstairs, the kitchen and washroom (at the bottom of the stairs) is on the ground floor. The restaurant is cosy, with black & red checked tablecloths, a chalk board with the tapas menu and framed Spanish-style art. It has an old school kind of Spanish restaurant vibe which makes sense having been established since 1999. Everyone at the restaurant is very friendly and professional. I was expecting more vegetarian dishes as I’ve been to many tapas restaurants and never struggled to find options. We decided to order patatas bravas, onion rings, meatballs (for my boyfriend) and a vegetable paella. It would be nice to see a few more inspiring vegetable based small plates- how about cheese croquettes as well as ham, a white bean & tomato stew or grilled aubergine? We enjoyed our smooth bottle of Spanish red wine. Would have loved the bread to come with a small bowl of olive oil/balsamic. We asked but the waiter didn’t understand our request. Altogether it was pleasant but not amongst our favourites in Hanoi.
Alice L — Google review
Try chicken Paella, the Spanish rice dish, which is the Catalonian style. The staff are friendly and the bathroom is very clean.
Osamu S — Google review
It was amazing. Great food for reasonable pricing. It was really quiet when we were there, an undiscovered gem perhaps. Started with the pork ribs tapas, wasn't that good, thought we gonna have a bad meal. Tried the Duck L'orange next. The sauce was delicious, meat was soft and juicy. Pretty good dish. The Veal with Mushroom Sauce was what took our breath away. Cream rich mushroom sauce on top of Medium Rare Veal. Splendid meal. We followed that with a Paella, a little too salty for our taste, but it's great nonetheless. The tapas didn't really wow us though, the again we only tried one, will definitely try others. Will be really soon.
David T — Google review
Squid paella is too wet with overcook seafood. Salad tastes bitter with very little dressing. Waitress is nice and polite. But one waiter is very unhelpful. When I ask him about the meaning of some Vietnamese words he just said "I don't know" and go away.
Ada L — Google review
Paella is very nice! Squid ink paella is also very good taste. Home made sangria is easy to drink and tasty. You should try if you visit here !
Yoshi T — Google review
Food is good, but not really the best (as Spanish I was hoping a better croquetas). Good price for tapas but small rations. The place is good, but need improve the relation between quality, quantity & price. Good staff and nice place
