The Thao Suranari (Ya Mo) Monument, located in Nakhon Ratchasima, is a significant landmark honoring Thao Suranari, also known as Ya Mo. She played a crucial role in the city's history during the Siamese-Laotian War in the 19th century. The monument features an impressive bronze statue surrounded by ornate gates and a reflecting pool.
Historic Heroine Moniment. Highly recommend to walk around and experience local cultures.
Jetsura V — Google review
A revered place for Thai people to celebrate a warrior woman who protected Korat from Lao invaders.
Sean O — Google review
A nice area, set by the historic city moat and reconstructed West Gate of possible 17th century origin under King Narai the Great. An elegant modern statue of the celebrated Governor's wife under HM King Rama III, credited with a saviour's role in thwarting Anouvong's invasion 200 years ago. The events doomed the Vientiane Laotian kingdom as a last vestige of Laan Sang on the Korat Plateau and cemented Isaan into Siam, for which it has much to be thankful.

Interesting monument. It will be very crowded since it fits right on the street. Parking is almost difficult to do it's better to use a taxi to the monument and dropping you off and picking you up after you finish business way with Ya Mo. Everyone who travel to this city should go there pay the respect to Thao suranari monument for you blessful life, I recommend, at least one time of your whole life.

The Maha Weerawong National Museum in Nakhon Ratchasima offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's history and culture. The museum boasts an extensive collection of artifacts, including ancient artworks, historical documents, and archaeological discoveries gathered from various provinces by Somdej Phra Maha Wirawong. This small yet captivating museum showcases Buddha images from different periods, pottery pieces, tools, and other cultural relics dating back to the Dvaravati period.
This is a very small museum. But there are interesting sights.

Very limited exhibits. You'll be done with everything in less than 20 minutes. Do wish they combine all the museums into one place. 50baht for foreigners.

A small museum with a big heart. Central location, easy access and a lot of information on the province, region and nation, on show (see my YouTube vlog), all on one level, here.

Tiny one room museum with some gorgeous items to look at. Peeking through the window of their storeroom at the ceramics they can’t display is a must. It’s 100 baht entry price is the same as much larger museums in Asia, but it’s worth a visit. And there’s not much else to do for tourists in this city. We were staying using it as a base to visit archeological sites.

Nestled in the northeastern part of downtown Korat, Wat Sala Loi is a serene Buddhist temple that beautifully blends spirituality with stunning architecture. Established in 1827 by the renowned Thao Suranari and her husband, this temple features an impressive assembly hall shaped like a boat gliding over waves, showcasing traditional Thai design. After undergoing significant renovations in 1973, it was honored as the best avant-garde religious building by the Siam Architects Society.
Well, the temple is located on the road encircling the old city moat, was jointly constructed in 1827 by Thao Suranari and her husband, the deputy governor of Nakhon Ratchasima. The temple’s ordination hall (Ubosot) received accolades for pioneering religious architecture from the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage, and from the Sathirakoses-Nagapradipa Foundation in 1973. So like you can guess its worth a visit.

Wat Sala Loi Wat Sala Loi is located at northeast of city, about 500 meters from Rob Mueng Road. Wat Sala Loi is built by the Khorat heroine Thao Suranari and her husband in 1827. Wat Sala Loi's highlight is the meeting hall which is the applied Thai art in the shape of a ship riding the waves. the door is also made of metal. Inside the hall there is a large statue of Buddha. Wat Phayap, located in the city center of Korat, is a modern temple with a surprising interior. Despite its unassuming exterior, the temple houses a chamber that has been transformed to resemble a cave, complete with stalactites, stalagmites, and Buddha statues. The history of this unique site dates back to when the abbot rescued pieces of a beautiful cave from destruction by quarry blasting and incorporated them into the temple's design.
Chanced upon a Royal Temple, Wat Phayap very near Yamo Monument, less than 5mins walk. Very serene temple, small but provide great sanctuary for anyone in seek of inner peace. Was lucky to get sangkatan blessings (pay return homage to our ancestors through the help of a monk) from the abbot of the temple. Anyone visiting Korat should take time to visit this great temple. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Phayap Temple is the royal temple of the west in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat). This royal temple was established in the reign of King Narai the Great at the same time as the founding Nakhon Ratchasima. Since Wat Payap is in the city wall west of the city pillar, the word "Phayap" means the west, so it was called 'Wat Phayap

The story goes that a construction company was digging away on a building foundation when it came across a cave. They spoke with their spiritual advisors at the monastery who told them to move the cave into the temple. Hence we have the Cave Temple. Unique and worth a visit. Small but interesting, no ticket needed. Rest of the complex also open. Bathroom in back too.

I came here the first time that I was in Korat and really liked it. So this time, I rented a room in a hotel across the road so that I could just walk over and enjoy the facilities. There are walking and cycling tracks around the lake as well as a coffee shop, some vendors, exercise equipment and paddle boats. It is very busy in the evening. My only complaint was that the entry gates along the adjoining main road were locked most of the times when I wanted to access the park. My hotel was situated between the 2 main entrances which necessitated navigating a small footpath encumbered by many trees. Somewhat dangerous. If you are climbing the observation tower, watch your head. I am only short and I whacked my head on a platform over the steep stairs. I am very pleased that places like this are set aside for people to enjoy.

This park is a vital part of our Korat experience. Every day, usually morning and evening, we walk and jog on the paved path around the man-made lake. It is remarkable to see a community exercising together. Nice views.

The Phimai Historical Park is a rectangular temple complex filled with intricate carvings and stone sculptures. It is an impressive Khmer ruin located in Thailand, known for its grand scale and detailed designs. Built as a Mahayana Buddhist temple, it features carvings of Hindu deities and design elements similar to those found in Angkor Wat.
A great historical park dated back over a thousand years in great Kmer Kingdom. The place is well maintained, very shady with many big trees and green lawns. A small exhibit explains the story and history of the place. A good walk around in this place on a sunny day will make your day! Worth a visit in itself! [Parking space is limited, can be a problem on a busy day.]
Ronrapee L — Google review
Phimai Temple (Prasat Hin Phimai) is one of the largest and most important Khmer temples in Thailand, renowned for its grand scale, exquisite carvings, and unique role as a Buddhist sanctuary built during the Khmer Empire. Located in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Phimai was constructed between the 11th and 12th centuries and served as a major religious and cultural hub at the end of the ancient highway that connected it directly to Angkor. Unlike many Khmer temples, which were dedicated to Hindu deities, Phimai was built as a Mahayana Buddhist temple, reflecting the spiritual diversity of the Khmer world. Highlights of Phimai Temple Architecture: The temple complex stretches over 1,000 by 600 meters, making it the largest Khmer site in Thailand. Its central sanctuary, built of white sandstone, is adorned with intricate lintels and pediments depicting both Hindu and Buddhist themes. Symbolism: The layout follows the Khmer cosmic plan, with the central prang representing Mount Meru, the axis of the universe. Interestingly it is one of the only Khmer temples to face south. Unique Identity: While its style resembles Angkor Wat, Phimai predates it by nearly a century and stands out for its explicitly Buddhist dedication.

Very clean and well maintained site. Staff inside the visitor's center were helpful and greeted us with kindness. There are plenty of shady benches to relax and enjoy the scenery. Overall though it's a small site compared with other historic sites in central Thailand. In my opinion, not worth the 200 baht entry price, which was 10 times the price my partner paid. I've traveled all over this country and have visited over 50 national parks, so I have a good feel for what you should expect for 100, 200, 300, and 400 baht entry. And I'm used to dual pricing too, but 200 is too high for this site, and 10 times the local price is just insulting. I'm sorry to say that I don't recommend this site, no matter how pretty it is.

That's amazing! The weather was lovely, perfect for a leisurely walk around the spacious 100-rai property. The grounds are beautifully preserved, with different rooms showcasing the architecture. At the back, there’s a massive tree believed to be over 400 years old. Admission: 200 baht for foreigners, 20 baht for Thai nationals, and free for children under 12. Parking: Available near the entrance, fits around 15 cars. Museum: Air-conditioned and pleasantly cool inside. Restrooms: Very clean. It’s absolutely worth bringing children to experience and appreciate ancient Khmer art. A truly valuable and worthwhile visit! ❤️🙏

I love these ancient temples. This one doesn't disappoint and is very impressive. You can tell that there has been a lot of effort put into it and I think more restoration and access to closed off areas would enhance the place more.

Beautiful and underrated historical site Phimai Historical Park really surprised me. The temple complex is huge, peaceful, and full of amazing Khmer-style architecture. The carvings and layout are incredibly detailed, and you can easily imagine how impressive this place must have been hundreds of years ago. I loved how quiet and relaxing the park felt — not crowded at all, so you can take your time walking around, taking photos, and enjoying the atmosphere. It’s well maintained, the lawns are clean, and the whole area has a very calm, ancient vibe. The sunlight can get strong, so bring water and a hat if you go during the day. The entrance fee is fair - 200 baht for foreigners, and I’d say the park is absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Korat or anywhere nearby. Overall: a beautiful, historic place that’s perfect for a slow, meaningful stop. Highly recommend! 💯

Phimai Historical Park is a truly amazing and worthwhile visit, often compared to a more peaceful version of Angkor Wat. This beautiful example of Khmer architecture is a must-see for anyone in the region. The 200 Baht ticket is great value, granting you access to the park's well-preserved structures. While the park is generally open until 6:00 PM daily, be sure to check for special events or festivals, as these can include extended evening hours for unique experiences like a light-and-sound show.

Not as impressive as Terminal 21 but still very beautiful inside and also very very big. Nice food court and a huge variety of shops. Whatever you want or need you will definitely be able to find it here. Worth a visit and only 15-20 minutes walking distance from Terminal 21 or the train station. By the way their arcade is bigger and better than the one in Terminal in my opinion
Kasper H — Google review
Similar to most shopping malls in design and operation but somehow seemed to have a wider range of products and even more products on display than some branches in the capital (BKK). Again, great space utilization without hindering the flow of shoppers in any direction. Car parking is free and located at basement, with entry points to the main store through automatic doors and escalators. Sliding doors are manned by security guards at all times. The doors are usually opened to the shoppers at precisely 10:00am (store opening time), so don’t be surprised to find people arriving early waiting by the door.

Sad to say there is no stylish close or high brand are here or even good copy of brands - nothing. All clothing department very simple so don’t expect something from this mall 3th floor is electronic but everywhere else same stores So particularly nothing special interesting just regular mall

Big, for me it is hard to find my way in here, about confused about the mall layout, plus maybe im old (42). But sometimes can find some bargains here from the floor market "tents".. it got something for everyone. This place has both expensive original stores and cheaper outlets.

The big mall of Korat. The location is beside of Mitraphap road. The mall available for water park. The restaurant inside have many type of food such as Chinese, Korea, Japan and English style. The parking is so good that free of charge for the first 2 hour (please check the condition).

Terminal 21 Korat is a remarkable shopping and dining destination nestled in the heart of Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat. This unique mall captures the essence of an airport terminal, with each floor themed after different global destinations, creating an immersive experience for visitors. The interior design is not only glamorous but also meticulously maintained, providing a comfortable environment for shoppers and diners alike.
I really enjoy this mall purely from the pleasure of walking around the world as I shop. It’s well designed and easy to navigate, but there are too many ice cream and coffee shops for me because I’m addicted to them!

Interesting shopping mall that would not be out of place in Bangkok. Great range of shops and some interesting decorations depicting the various locations. I particularly liked the bronze effect figurines which depict characters you may find at various places.

A proper mall in the heart of Korat. You may not find many brands like Nike, Adidas, Pull&Bear and Sony. But the H&M is nice, you have a Peak bball flagship store, food court is solid, and the vibe is great.

In my humble opinion I actually this Terminal 21 is the best and most decorative in Thailand. They still got the same theme of course but this one just has more stunning interior. Absolutely a must see shopping mall in Nakhon Ratchasima. They food court is also good, cheap and very big. Will recommend eating here

Nestled near the Wat Boon Temple in Nakhon Ratchasima, the Wat Boon Night Market is a vibrant and bustling night market that offers an array of culinary delights and local craftsmanship. This popular destination, located within the old city walls, attracts both locals and tourists with its lively atmosphere. Visitors can explore a wide range of food stalls offering delicious options such as sausage, pad Thai, Thai rice cakes, and refreshing beer from nearby shops.
I recommend you to visit the market after 6.30 pm. I went a bit early and waited until the foods and vendors were ready. The market has a lot of foods and desserts.
Chanunchida T — Google review
Great if you’re close to this standard opener, market, smaller and size than many not many places to sit standard selection of items by places, like save one or much larger and have a lot more merchandise. This is good if it’s close to home, I would travel very far though.

Scenic spot
Skydeck Tower at Terminal 21 Korat is a fantastic spot to soak in panoramic views of Nakhon Ratchasima. Standing at an impressive height of 110 meters, this free attraction offers visitors a unique perspective of the city from above. While navigating to the top can be a bit tricky, once you find the lift on the mall's top level near the arcade area, you're in for a treat!
Again a must see attraction when visiting Nakhon Ratchasima. It’s free entry and you can take the lift from the top level of the shopping mall right next to the arcade area. Great view of all of the city and only binoculars to use if you want to see more specific things
Kasper H — Google review
Free to enter. About 18 floors up? You can see the buildings around the tower and they have free binoculars you can play with. You have to wait a while for the elevator though. I don't recommend this to people with motion sickness since the tower does sway a little so you get dizzy when you're up there.
The S — Google review
Enter from 4th floor to elevator with guards. Great view with free telescopes
Myke S — Google review
I thought it may require a fee for entry so I only dropped by on my last day before leaving Korat. It was surprisingly free. Took the lift up and there was an officer on duty for managing the crowd. Not a very big place, needed about 15mins unless you really look and observe. Can see almost the whole of Korat town.

Free to see the city of Korat from the top of the Skydeck Tower. Not the most amazing city to see from above but interesting all the same. Not very clear, not clear at all, how to reach the top. Just by pure chance the lift opened and brought me to the top. I was at the top of the mall and I mistakenly thought that was the top, or the limit to what we could see. Which would have been disappointing as the views were obscured. Luckily I did get to the top, a 360 view 110 metres high. Views were clear and the room was nice and air conditioned.

Fantastic shopping places and indoor playground for kids! Each floor is showing different city from the world. Very clean, safe, and well-organized. Lots of fun zones for all ages, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I bought very nice books. Kids love the place too!
Kaloian T — Google review
The playground here is very large and has a lot of fun activities! However, it’s more suitable for children over 5 years old. It’s not really recommended for toddlers under 4, as there are quite a few areas where small kids aren’t allowed to play. That’s a bit unfortunate, but for older children, it’s definitely worth visiting — they’ll have a great time!

Highlight of the mall is the Golden Gate replica bridge & Eiffel tower, pretty decent size otherwise this place has the usual over priced retail outlets
Rob N — Google review
Please note that many of the good reviews refer to the mall, not the Harbor Land. The price is extremely high for a Thai attraction. We got in a bit cheaper as we entered past 18 p.m. Still, you have to buy no slip socks. You cannot bring your own as they all need to look the same. The children get a bracelet with a color (apparently according to their size). What I did not know at that time: Children are only allowed to use slides and so on according to the color of their bracelet. And most of the stations cannot be used by younger children. Our 4 year old could not use most of the slides!! As I asked to measure again they confirmed less than 100cm (two doctors measured 101cm within less than a month from visiting harbor land). There is a lot of staff, but almost no one speaks English. The staff is very friendly. Would never go there again - particularly at this price point.

One of the places I have found to be very informative and providing more resources about Khorat and the city of Nakhon Ratchasima. The down side to foreign visitors however, is that a lot of the information is not in any foreign language, so it may be a little intimidating to visit. Enough to really follow along is provided though.

Can probably do better. No AC when I visited. Maybe 10% of the information are in English, hopefully Google Lens could translate photos, otherwise it would have been a pure waste of time. Could teach more about the history, it jumps from pre historic times to 18th century with some pictures in between, the city is older, more interesting facts can be probably said.

Pratu Chumphon (Chumphon Gate) is a historic city gate located in Nakhon Ratchasima, within the vicinity of Grandma Mo Monument. It was originally used for entering and exiting the city, as well as gathering troops. There are beliefs associated with walking through this gate multiple times, such as ensuring safety during war and finding love in Korat. The gate is beautifully illuminated at night and stands next to the revered Tao Suranari statue.

Here you can see a historic gate that I think is (one of) the last remnant(s) of the town’s old wall (I believe this gate was reconstructed / renovated, though). You can also see the statue of the town’s heroine named Ya Ma; many people make offerings to her, also known as “making merit.” You can buy cigarettes and betel chew to offer to the statue.
Brennan O — Google review
Ordinary town center site: if you are spiritual you can 'make Merit' here by performing traditional ceremonial rites at the center statue of the Korat Heroine 'Ya Mo' (asymbolic offering of betal nut). Many things were under construction and in disarray when I was there. There's a bunch of playground slides and such but some were in disrepair. A lot of people selling lottery tickets and the option to make Merit by feeding fish in pigeons, but if you don't like these types of birds perhaps stay away from that. Suppose an appropriate option in the evenings to get some exercise by walking around.

(Translated by Google) Came to Ya Mo's event last night. There are too many people. You can barely walk, you have to go one after the other, and there are mostly only restaurants. You can hardly stop buying anymore. Because I'm considerate of the person behind me. Vendors complained that they couldn't sell much because people rarely stopped to buy. But it's still good to have 7-8 of them in the picture. that creates a new experience Because I've never seen it before. I saw people milling about. At first, I thought it was a resin statue, until the kids ran their fingers over it and looked at it. It turned out that it could move. That's when I realized that this was a real hippo. It was so strange. I'd never seen it before. I've liked watching documentaries about animals all my life. I've never heard of it before. that there are hippos this small in the world When I saw it for the first time, I stood confused for several minutes as well. I don't dare touch it with my finger. Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, also known as Korat Zoo, is a spacious 218-acre zoo that houses a wide variety of African animals. In addition to the animals, visitors can explore the reptile house and children's zoo while enjoying the beautiful gardens. The zoo also features a water park for those looking to cool off in the hot weather. Guests have several transportation options available to them including renting bikes or golf carts or taking a bus tour around the zoo.
Using The bikes and go carts makes it a positive place to visit if you keep at a healthy pace. More expensive for tourists. The money seems to go to good use in support of what looks like a zoo that's bettering itself. Since there were renovations happening. The building with A/C few and far in-between. The deer seem to have the run of the place and make sure to keep your camera ready at the bird exhibit, I walked through the wood walkway with the sun shining through the green translucent roof while it wasn't busy. As I walked I had birds flying past this corridor at head height. The green tint aura and the brightly colored birds would make it an awesome photo opportunity.

The Zoo was huge and we couldn't see everything we wanted to so if you do come I recommend giving yourself at least 2 hours to explore. The Wat Ban Rai is an elaborate and vibrant temple complex featuring a stunning elephant mosaic shrine situated in a man-made lake. The shrine is adorned with over 20 million pieces of enameled tiles, showcasing depictions from Buddhism's sacred texts. Visitors can climb to the rooftop where they will find statues of Buddha and Luang Pho Khun. The temple offers spiritual solace for all and provides easy access for visitors.
If you’re looking for a temple that’s totally different from the usual, Wat Ban Rai is the place to go. It’s about a 3-hour drive from Bangkok, and it’s super easy to find, with plenty of parking nearby. The temple is shaped like a giant elephant and it’s covered in colorful mosaics that tell Buddhist stories. It’s such a cool mix of art and spirituality. There’s no entry fee, but donations are welcome. Go in the morning or late afternoon. Not only is it cooler, but the lighting makes the mosaics look even more stunning.

Temple of one of Thailand's greatest Monks Luamg Por Khun The Elephant Temple is a history of Buddhism detailing history of the path to enlightenment as taught by Buddha throughout Asia The Royal collection or main museum is a beautiful collection of relics and life of Luang Por Khun I have plenty of photos which I will try to share from my 4-5 hours at the temple Admission is free.. Plenty of restaurants as well Definitely worth the journey to pay respect to Luang Por Khun and his impact on Thai society 🙏🙏🙏

Grand and famous temple in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), known for its impressive scale. 🎨 The architecture and artistic details are truly magnificent and beautifully crafted. 🏯 The grandeur and beauty of the architecture are breathtaking — even more stunning in real life than in photos. 🌳 The grounds are spacious and very well maintained. 🙏 Highly recommended for a visit—make sure to set aside enough time, as there's a lot to explore.

We came late due to the jam caused by many people returning to their hometown for the new year 2025. We were lucky to be given a chance to go to the top of the Elephant Museum to pray to LP Koon statue that is almost 99% resemblance to LP Koon.

Flora Park, located in Wang Nam Khiao, is a serene floral garden featuring vibrant flower beds and well-maintained shrubs. Visitors can explore eight different zones housing over 400 plant varieties by hopping on a shuttle bus. However, it's advisable to be prepared for potential traffic and hot weather with hats and other essentials. The park offers a pleasant way to spend time surrounded by beautiful flowers and open spaces.
Nicely located in a hilly area with spectacular displays of flowers in various colors and formations. Car park is available at the entrance, both outside and inside the park. On walking in, you are greeted by a member of staff to guide you to the ticketing area and on purchase of entry ticket (200 Baht adults, 150 Baht for over 60 years), staff will brief you what the ticket includes, then enter the park after getting stamped with ink under your wrist. The park has many parts with different setups as well as a small coffee shop on top of a small hill giving a panoramic view. Children enjoy the display of projected cartoon images on the walls, ceiling and floor of the dark room by the Cafe, and you can request your photo be taken by photographer and collect it on the way out for the price of 200 Baht. There is also a golf cart to take visitors in a tour around the large park. So beautiful and nice.
Husain ( — Google review
Very nice park. Entry was 200 Baht for adults and 150 for 60+. It included access to the flora park and the rose park. To go between them, a trolley is available every hour. You do need your tickets when arriving at the rose park! We went in December, and nit everything was in bloom, but it was still very prety. Next to the Flora park is a restaurant with great chicken wings!
Floris V — Google review
I've visited Flora Park several times over the years. The flowers were still as lovely as ever. There are trolleys to take you to the rose garden not far away. Still think it's the best flower park around the Wang Nam Kheo area. Worth a visit though the fee is rather high.
Patrin I — Google review
Nice place to stop by. For one ticket you get Flora Park and Rose Park, which is nearby and accessed by your transport or shuttle from Flora Park. Great to walk around and view scenery. Various snacks and drinks are served on premises.

Beautiful floral park in the Nakhon Ratchasima, north east of Thailand. Nice day out with friends and family if you happen to travel near the area, but it's not worth it if you're visiting Thailand for the first time. The best time to visit is during the Thailand cold season, others season it's way too hot and not many flowers to look at.
Annie V — Google review
Went to the flora park today. Unfortunately it looked like the season is over for now. Most of the flowers were dry. And the area was not that well maintained this time. Entrance fee was reduced from 200 to 80 Baht.
Christopher A — Google review
Nice flower garden with an observation deck. The deck has a "mini teamLab" room for a little fun. There is also a rose garden at the back with a shuttle bus run every hour. Recommend to go in the late afternoon because it was too hot even in Feb. Restaurant and cafe on site are pretty good and reasonable price.
Krirk S — Google review
This is a very nice place. We went in January and the prices went down already. 150 for adult and 100 THB for kids (I think 90/100cm to 130cm) and people over 60. There is a shuttle bus to the Rose Garden which is also very nice.

Prasat Hin Phanom Wan is a Khmer sanctuary that dates back to the 15th Buddhist century and was later renovated in the 18th and 19th centuries. The ruins feature pagodas, a Buddha statue, and remnants of a moat. The temple is well-preserved and maintained with minimal visitors. It serves as an excellent example of ancient Khmer stone architecture without modern technology or machinery.
As one of a historical place in a stone castle style around this area which more than 2500 years old. Their operating time is 7.30am to 5.30pm. Entrance fee THB10 for Thai people, THB80 for non-Thai people. Parking are available in front of its place.

Interesting historical religious ruins. Built around 1000 AD by the Kmer. Took about 25 minutes to see everything. It’s a bit out of town, it took us 30 minutes to get there from middle of Korat.

One of the iconic deserted (but well-maintained) shrines in northeastern Thailand in Khmer architecture, Prasat Hin Phanom is one of the must-gos in Nakhon Ratchasima, apart from the well-known Prasat Hin Phimai. Though hard to find for those unfamiliar to the locality, it is rewarding for those who wished to seek an enclosed historical park. There is also a toilet there. On the weekday, it is advisable to visit there, for there are not many people around (quite worth seeing, though).

Wat Lak Roi is a hidden gem that takes you off the typical tourist path, inviting you to explore its unique offerings. Nestled along dirt roads, this Buddhist temple features resident monks and an expansive garden filled with captivating sculptures. These artworks narrate tales of Siam's historical wars and invasions, alongside vivid depictions of sinners facing their fates in hell and the contrasting beauty of heaven. While not as surreal as Hieronymus Bosch’s creations, the scenes are strikingly imaginative.
This temple worth a visit. It has many areas like hindus and the narok. Monks were very helpful

5th May 2019. Hard to contemplate what you see. A real mixture, Planet of the Apes, modern themes, dinosaurs, animals from all over, and hell and temptation. Shows such a mixed up world and above it is the golden temple, maybe. Worth a visit but allow time as its a big area. Admire the dedication of the Monk who has put this together over many years.
David S — Google review
A must see place. Very strange scenes around every corner apparently depicting hell, some are shown in various graphic and gruesome ways.
John H — Google review
This temple is definitely off the beaten track. Expect some dirt roads. This is a very unique Buddhist temple with resident monks and a large garden of sculptures. These sculptures tell the story of wars and invasions of Siam, sinners descent into hell, and the kingdom of heaven. The hellscape is has sinners being punished according to their sins. It's not quite to the vivid imagination of Hieronymus Bosch, but close. The path to heaven is of course the 2 story temple that features reliefs of many monks, Hindu deities, and of course Buddha. If you're in the area, it's a one of a kind temple.

Greenme Organic Farm Khao Yai is a delightful family-friendly bed and breakfast that offers an inviting café and engaging farm tours, complete with tractor rides and animal encounters. During our visit, we indulged in a variety of delicious dishes, from Cha-om noodles with shrimp to crispy Baby cos bacon. The menu was extensive, featuring favorites like Kale soup and hearty Carbonara. A standout was the refreshing 4-color vegetable juice packed with nutrients—definitely a must-try!
The staff are very kind and polite, with a warm and caring attitude. The healthy food is delicious, with a wide variety of menu options at great prices. There's convenient parking and a space where kids can play and have fun. We’ll definitely be bringing the family back again! 😍😍😍

Quietly tucked away in a corner of Khao Yai is this well thought out farm suitable for young children and adults alike. There are animals and agricultural sections which can be thoroughly enjoyed and experienced through the farm tour at 10am, 1pm or 3pm. Learn about the techniques they employ throughout the site even try your hand at picking fresh fruit and veggies and having them prepared served fresh at the quaint cafe afterwards. The foods served at the cafe is also a must try. A night stay or two can let you forget about the hustle and bustle of life and truly immerse nature with being. There’s no lack of activity at this farm and a wonderful spot for some peace, learning and enjoyment

We have been to Khao Yai many times and this is one of the places we would most highly recommend. The restaurant, farm, office, and management - all the staff were incredibly kind and gentle with the children and it was a relaxing experience for us.All the staff working here had great hospitality, and were good at explaining things in English and pretty professional assistance. The rooms and the farm were very clean, and all the staff raised the animals and vegetables with love. The 9-day-old rabbit was very adorable, and in addition to the cows, pigs, and chickens, there were also many friendly cats. We were able to see the shooting stars at night, which was a great experience for the children. In particular, we definitely recommend participating in the harvesting experience held here. You can harvest high-quality vegetables that you can't get in Bangkok. We will definitely be back.We appreciate their hospitality. Thanks again

Chumphon Gate, also known as Pratu Chumphon, is a historic city gate located on the western side of the old city. It is the only remaining gate out of the original four built in 1656 with assistance from French engineers. The gate has undergone renovations to restore its original state and was undergoing further restoration during a recent visit. Situated near the Tao Suranari Monument, it stands as a remarkable piece of history.
Pratu Chumphon ( or Chumphon Gate ). This old citygate here on the west side of the outskirts of the old city is the only one still standing of the 4 in total that was built around 1656, engineers from France helped to design the city plan and to build it. It have had some renovation to restore it to it's orginal state. Acually it was undergoing some renovations again it seems when I was here 2023 03 02, which was to bad because I couldn't really explore it up close. But still looked to be in good shape and have a part of the old citywall as well. The old town of Nakhon Ratchasima had a citywall around it with a area of roughly 1,000 by 1,700 square metres. Also had a moat of which most still remains. The other 3 citygates ( east, south and north ) have been rebuilt but not in the original shape instead in a more modern version. Some sections of the old citywall can still be seen in a few places around the old moat. I have a Youtube channel with videos from different forts & bunkers that I've filmed with both drone and normal camera. Hope you'll check it out 🙂 Username: Tomo 08swe.

Merry xmas

Not obvious it is a Cathedral from the outside.......but inside it is pretty nice. Nice altar and lovely stained glass picture of the Virgin Mary. Interesting to see.

Hokkaido Flower Park Khaoyai is a picturesque flower farm reminiscent of the Hokkaido flower farms in Japan. The park features vibrant displays of Purple Verbena, Chrysanthemum flowers, and Red Silosia. Visitors are advised to arrive early in the morning to avoid crowds and scorching sun. The entrance fee is 120 baht per person, which includes a discount at the on-site cafe.
Lots of picture interests and especially during the season of blooms! Visit during January and February and experience cool weather! If you love taking pictures with the flowers, add extra time here as the park is massive. At the center, they have Japanese style native huts and they sell snacks and beverages. Thanks to Scents of Siam Travel and Tours Thailand for bringing us here and have us enjoy the experience hassle-free and fuss-free!!!!

Flower Park recommend to visit at Khao Yai ! Fully flowery place with good atmosphere and view. Here also have icecream and cafe. A lot of visitors rent Yukata for taking a photo !

A beautiful, well maintained flower park for your Instagramable or tiktok moment. The park is not very big, the flowers are those commonly found in Thailand which cleverly put together to create that stunning background for a perfect picture. Admission @ 100 Baht is reasonable.

Visited on Nov 15 2025, Sunday. Gorgeous walk, we spent nearly one-two hours just strolling around and sitting in the shade. I appreciate that there is some seating far into the corners of the the park that you can rest and feel the wind. Slight queue that moved quickly to get tickets, once inside there's a lot of space to look for quieter spots.

One of the largest flower parks in Thailand, it’s a very popular site. Tons of flowers and all for photo shoots for your significant other. Plenty of food and drinks available on site. Very large and well laid out and maintained. Admission is 150 Baht for adults.

Visited on first week of July. The flowers are still on bloom and there are only few tourists (best for those who want to relax and take beautiful pictures). There's an entrance fee of 100 baht per person. The field is wide and the mountain behind it adds to the beauty of the place. This is a must visit place when you go to Khao Yai.

Very beautiful place with many different colts of flowers. It’s like being in Japan without having to fly there. Be prepared to spend at least 1.5 hrs - 2 hours if you love taking photos.

The place was really beautiful! It is really hot though, so please bring an umbrella, sunglasses, and a cap. Make sure to put on sunscreen as well.

Museum
The Thao Suranaree Victory Building is a modern-day tribute to the city's historical roots, dating back to the late 17th century when it was constructed to protect the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The building commemorates local heroine Thao Suranaree and her army's victory over King Anouvong's Laotian forces in 1826. It features castle walls, bronze statues, and an exhibition showcasing its historical significance.
Thao Suranari Victory Building. This seems to be a "fake" historical building just as The Victory Gate nearby. It might be a replica of a section of the old citywall and it appears to be connected to the Thao Suranari monument and that history. It has a exhibition inside but unfortunately no information in english, at least not when I was here 2023 03 02. But still a nice place to visit. Just to bad that you can't go up on the wall. I have a Youtube channel with videos from different forts & bunkers that I've filmed with both drone and normal camera. Hope you'll check it out 🙂 Username: Tomo 08swe.

There is a very small room to show the historical victory of Thao Suranaree in a form of diorama and some pictures.

(Translated by Google) 2022.12.30 There are castle walls and bronze statues. They are probably the people who stood up alongside Tao Suranari. A woman who played an active role in the invasion of Laos in 1826, and many people associate her with Joan of Arc. I don't think it's because he started a revolution, but it feels avant-garde. This story takes place 27 years before the black ships arrived in Japan.
