Walked to the art museum from the old town, entry is VERY expensive for us 3rd world visitors! Reception was friendly and the art was interesting. Even a couple of pieces by Picasso! Very interesting architecture and museum is well laid out and spacious. Also the garden has some fun sculpture and an entertaining water fountain. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Also, the tower for viewing the city is a short walk up the hill..combine the 2 in an outing.

Great museum designed by Alvar Aalto. You will also find many of his furniture and luminaries inside and outside. There is easy access and ample parking nearby. We visited between exhibitions, so we were only allowed into part of the museum. The shop is well worth visiting if you like Danish design.

Beautiful museum showcasing the life and works of the famous Danish architect who conceptualised the Sydney Opera House and various other beautiful buildings. The museum hallways talk about the life and works of the architect while there are separate rooms for some of his most important works. These give a good insight into the mind of the great man! There is also a section to get hands on and build structures with LEGO bricks or get on a computer and build some models. There is a robotics lab for use by the local university and a nice little courtyard. Such useful places! Finally there is a restaurant too but I didn’t try this one.

A charming little museum, a definite hidden gem of Aalborg! You can see models of Utzon's projects (realised and not), there are several rooms with changing exposition and workshops (currently occupied by the University of Aalborg). The adjacent restaurant is also lovely

At the Luton centre you can find out more about Jørn Utzon and the Opera house in Sydney. It is really interesting. In addition to this, the Utzon center has an exhibition of sustainable construction. I would say that was my favourite part of the Utzon center. Here you can see that Danish architects have great inspiration for a sustainable future. The exhibition displays models of furnitures, prototypes, building elements and much more. The exhibition for sustainable construction is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend to everyone to visit the Utzon Center.

Fantastic museum with very innovative and techdesigned experiences. Lego building Utzon architecture in an enviroment where your design can be scanned into a minecraft 3d universe that you can experience with VR. Brilliantly done. The rest of the museum offers some fine examples of how you as a guest can interact with the theme of a museum when it's well designed. You can build with different materials in workshops or walk around and view Utzons designs from different angles.

This ist a wonderful exhibition, great staff, intelligent concept, creative and inspiring. It depicts the spirit of arcitecture and connects it with the people. It has some well-selected pieces and is beautifully situated.

A museum about Danish architecture, especially the architect of the iconic opera in Sidney. The museum is not that big and the price might seem a little steep, but in my opinion it is worth it. You will find interesting exhibits and workshops also can participate in some activities like building with lego block or create collapsible structures folding paper. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

The building itself is worth a visit! I found the sommerhouse-exhibition very entertaining. It’s not a big building so you can get through within 1-2 hours. Stuff to do for older kids as well!

Too good to visit on weekdays

If you like to party, this is the street for you. The most famous and concentrated party street in Denmark. Lots of different bars and pubs so there is something for everyone.

Busy party street. Some bars are really expensive. Go to the shots bar in the other end than Mexi bar.

A great place to be, especially during summer time. There is room for outdoor swimming, in a "fenced" area or you can decide to swim in the fjord. During summertime, there are many people swimming around, buying ice cream, playing beach volley, playing basketball, rollerblading, skateboarding or having a go on the outdoor gym. There are a few free parking spots, behind the park that are available, but otherwise it isn't that far from the town centre. It is also close to Aalborg streetfood, which I highly recommend! Open all year round, although, there are only lifeguards during summertime.

If you want to go hang out in the summer and go swimming this is probably one of the best places in Denmark. Great place for people watching too.

Nice place to relax and have some fun, you can play football, volleyball or swim here. There is also this coffee place.

The place is nice. It has several swimming pools as well as grass area. The water is very shallow, an artificial beach, so it is a great place for kids to play in the water. Toilets are available on site, as well as a little kiosk. Some irritating things about the place are that the water are not always clean (some white foaming in the water). The showers have been turned off. The pools are being cleaned during the year, however, the caretakers don't always bother to inform the public that the pools are being emptied :-( Free parking is available. Aalborg Street food is just 10-15 minutes walking. Have fun. ;-)

A small cafe shop. Also hosts a private sauna club, diving club, canoeing club. Places to play wallyball in sand, football on grass and 1 half a basketball on pavement. A ground for bodyweight exercises / parkour training. And some open air trampolines to jump on. Good free parking too.

Lindholm Høje is a place where history truly comes alive. The vast stone outlines of ship-shaped graves instantly transport you back to the Viking Age. Its strategic location by the fjord gave the Vikings a crucial advantage – and you can still feel that strength today. The atmosphere is enhanced by freely grazing sheep and the surrounding peaceful landscape, creating a harmony with the ancient past. Right next to the site you’ll also find a wonderful museum, where you can dive deeper into the history and discoveries connected to this unique burial ground. Lindholm Høje is one of the most important Viking sites in Scandinavia and is absolutely worth a visit.

I pulled up in my campervan for the night and walked the cemetery with the sun setting. Really magical place with good energy… a must if a visit.

Beautiful historical landmark with lots of history and informative sites, would recommend. There were informations at each of the little stations in the outside park, but some of the information was only written in danish. Nonetheless I was able to learn a lot without having to buy an entry ticket into the museum, but I’m sure that would’ve been worth the money too!!

Historically beautiful. There are a lot of signs placed around the “graveyard” with explanations and information about the place. Dog friendly place as well which made it more friendly for me and my family:)

The Zoo is a nice size zoo that has great exhibits. A few of them actually allow you to walk within the exhibit as long as you stay on the path. Well laid out paths. Plenty of parking in a grass lot just past the zoo entrance. Buy your tickets online prior to your arrival and save a little money!

Great zoo experience with something for all ages. From dinosaurpark to pettingzoo, inovative varied information and some very friendly staff who are also very invested in telling about the different animals and their stories. Their food could do with some more quality vs pricelevel though.

Aalborg Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination! We had a wonderful time exploring the zoo with our kids. They were thrilled to see the impressive dinosaur exhibit, which sparked their imagination. The highlight for them was definitely the big cats – the tigers and lions were magnificent. We also enjoyed watching the zebras and giraffes, and the penguins were absolutely adorable. The lemurs added a playful touch to our visit. The zoo offers a great variety of animals and plenty of interactive experiences for children. Highly recommended for a fun-filled family day out!

It was okay, but the animals I wanted to see was sleeping :)… OMG, the otters were so cute. I would definitely go again.

A truly fantastic experience! I loved the focus on rare and endangered species like the magnificent Asian lions and Bornean orangutans. The zoo balances serious conservation with family fun; the Dinosaur Land exhibit, with its life-size characters, was an absolute highlight that the children loved. A must-visit attraction for anyone in the region!

2025-10-15 - Far from being the best zoo we have visited (family of 5 persons). It wasn’t a bad experience, but not really good either. We spend 4 hours here and was asked several times by our kids when should leave (age 10, 7 and 4). There was a Halloween theme, which was made quite well, but sadly it wasn’t enough to change our experience. Also parking the car was a mess as there wasn’t enough parking spots.

Really had a good time at this place . They have quite a good range of animals . You can easily spend upto 3 hours. A lot of eating place and kids play area . The place is kept quite clean and organized . And jot far from the city center.

Really good experience to visit as a family, we had a good time. Especially exciting to learn about uproar in Northern Jutland over centuries, a special exhibit. We were also captured by the story of the Churchill group and the story of the boys and young men during WW2, what they did in Aalborg to resist against the occupation 💪🏽💯 Very reasonable coffee/tea/hot chocolate 👍🏽

A great museum. It's filled with the history of Aalborg, since the first human occupations until recent periods. There are guides who speak both English and Danish. The signs on the walls that explain the exhibition's pieces are all in Danish, but there are panflets in English that have the translations. The collections are amazing. There are ancient instruments of torture, of housing, of common daily objects, of a classroom, of clothes. There's a part of the museum that is entirely dedicated to the German occupation during World War II that is really interesting, and the guide had many outstanding comments on how people lived through this period.

Quite hectic and boring museum if you are not extremely into random facts about Aalborg. Would be nice if the exhibition would be more organized

The museum has done a good job with the English translations since earlier comments, so I recommend visiting them. It stood out to me how they tried to depict their subjects as human beings, be it a medieval folk hero, an executioner or a 14-year-old bride.

If you’re at all interested in Viking history, you must visit Lindholm Viking Museum! The site is incredibly well-preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into Viking life and burial traditions. The museum itself is modern, informative, and thoughtfully curated—perfect for both casual visitors and history enthusiasts. The surrounding landscape adds to the atmosphere, making it a truly immersive experience.

Excellent museum with English/German/French translation. Not for all exhibits though. Possibly the best I've seen for stone age - bronze age - iron age and into early medieval/viking age. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

The museum is relatively well done. That is to say for its size. It's visually appealing and offers interesting information about both the area right next to it, as well as the Limfjorden area more generally.

Museum (inside) plus walk around in the field among the graves and old Viking villages. Well worth a visit. Not quite as stunning as some other famous Viking sites in Scandinavia. Hard to read signs and descriptions in the museum due to their placement and gloomy light condition.

Nice museum with two expositions. Lot of explanations but only in Danish, English and sometimes German and French.

It's a small and nice visit. There some interactive bits to simulate a fire in a house, also a part with a video how to make a weapon from stone and then you get to see how it looks like. Its not mandatory to pay the museum to see the vicking graveyard but kinda complementa well and does not take much time and is not very expensive.

GREAT OLD HISTORICAL BUILDING If in Aalborg you have to visit the Jens Bang’s Stenhus. It is a very interesting building with a lot of history in it. Visit the small museum and see you can walk the old secrets ways in the building. And visit Duus’ Vinkælder in the basement. Real nice. Definitely a place to visit. We loved this place. The rooftop is beautiful, and we had a raspberry spritz that was amazing and refreshing. This place has a restaurant, but is a place where you can buy clothes, supermarket, and home stuff. It was a jazz festival weekend and the bands were playing on the roof. I would definitely visit this beautiful place again.

Amazing spot in Aalborg. Nice foods, good for afternoon tea and cake with the best views in Aalborg. I recommend going up the Rooftop before exploring the city, you'll easily make out your destinations from the bird's view! Enjoy nice coffee with great syrup options like coconut syrup. The staff is overly friendly and nice. The terrace of the Rooftop is also a great place to be. Enjoy the sunshine, but add a little sunscreen!

We had an excellent lunch with great service. They made lovely lunch with city-view. We requested multiple changes to the menu items, which was no problem. We enjoyed coffee after the lunch.

Asked for American pancakes with trimmings which I was too late for. So I got pancakes with ice cream, berries and mascarpone. Dry pancakes that had been left under the heating lamp too long, one strawberry sliced and 4 blueberries. The mascarpone was very sparse and didn’t really taste like I expected. But hey, the service was friendly and the sun was shining and they do add sunscreen 😀

How can you charge 169 kr for 1 slice of salami, 1 slice of Parma, and three tiny wedges of cheese? And how can you manage to cook a standard hamburger so badly? It was close to being unedible. The only good thing was the incredible view.

Aalborghus Slot is a really beautiful historic building with a great atmosphere. Walked around the outside, and the half-timbered architecture and surrounding greenery make it a nice place for a stroll. However, it was a bit unclear if we could actually go inside or what there was to see—some signs or more info would’ve been helpful. Still, definitely worth a visit if you’re in Aalborg!

Very nice park and castle. The prison is quite amazing and super cold in the hot summer months. For some reason all the lights were out inside the prison. The park is really nice and secluded also. Well worth a visit, although read up before you go, as there isn't much information available at the castle itself.

It's ok for a walk but there ain't much to see

Not what you might expect from a "castle", but an absolutely gorgeous building nonetheless. We went in the off-season and were only able to explore the outside (including the inner courtyard), but it was well worth the short walk from our hotel. Even without going inside, you can feel the history that exists within this space... Interestingly, they've repurposed some of the space within the building for local businesses, which puts a fascinating historical/modern spin on the entire place. If you're nearby, a quick jaunt around/through the castle won't take more than a few minutes -- well worth the visit for a quick dose of history!

Four great drinks, including 6 pcs. beer plank. Lemon mareng good as well. The frozen strawberry daiquiri was visually nice to look at and big. Tasted like real strawberries. Bought 6 shotglasses, nice souvenirs.

Nice brewery set in a lovely square. Staff are great and the garden and decor is very nice. We had Madam Weizen (a German classic wheat beer) served with a wedge of lemon, and their Cider. The beer was very nice, the cider is extremely sweet though - so only get it if that's your thing. Didn't try the food but looks nice. Will be going back to try some more beers for sure

Great bøfsandwich and salat. Service was top attentive and you got a feeling of true Danish hospitality. Also they got a lunch beer that has a little less alcohol than normal beers so you won’t be too drowsy if you need to get back to work after your lunch

This is a really nice place. I stayed in Aalborg for one and half weeks and tried different dining spots, and I really liked this one. It's quite good.

Enjoyed the chats with the Brewhouse team. Their Danish island whiskies look fantastic. Great packaging and marketing. Had an IPA. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Good bitterness and not over-fruity like too many these days (yup, old man comment).

Best restaurant in Aalborg, with a different menu every month beside of the à la carte choice! Excellent Japanese style restaurant, I recommend 100% for event, stylish night, romantic night, whatever! The restaurant is stunning, the view amazing (even more while sunset) and the food just excellent!

If you're a true sushi lover and you have been to Japan to try a proper sushi place where the chef makes and serves sushi in front of you, then you have to try the sushi menu tasting here. It's quite pricey, 850kr per person but the quality is the best. I have not found anywhere else in Denmark has this similar good quality of sushi.

Henius is perhaps one of the best restaurants in Aalborg serving traditional Danish open sandwiches. When you enter the restaurant, it exudes a real cozy atmosphere. Good service and a small schnapps on the table make your meal a taste experience. In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy your meal in the sun. Warning! If you order more than 2, you can't finish it. ;-)

Lovely place for lunch (recommended by a regular visitor to Aalborg). We just had herring with curry mayonnaise, egg, capers and onion on a bed of rye bread. Very fresh, well presented and delicious. A perfect lunch.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and beautifully prepared dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. The menu offers a nice mix of traditional and modern flavors. If you don’t finish everything, they’re more than happy to provide a doggy bag. A perfect spot for a relaxed dinner in Aalborg. It’s best to make a reservation. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I cannot judge the food, as we were refused a table when we arrived. We arrived a bit late for Danish standards (19:45). There were at least 3 free tables, but the waiter clearly did not want to make an effort to serve us. I am sorry, but this deserves a bad review. We had a great dinner elsewhere.

We were just walking through Aalborg and stopped for a meal here. We are so glad we did! Food was excellent and the pairing suggestions for beers and Akvavit were spot on. Our server was tremendous. Her wit and suggestions added to our great experience here.

A simple, delicious Danish menu, great staff and a cozy atmosphere. Each dish is massive, so I’d recommend starting with just one sandwich and go from there. I absolutely loved the butter-fried fish fillet with shrimp and the crawfish tails. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The schnapps pairing suggestions in the menu are spot on. I actually accidentally spilled a full shot of schnapps on the table and a very sweet waitress replaced it instantly at no extra charge. Many thanks to all of the staff and personnel for a lovely lunch. Highly recommended.

A really nice park to just relax and enjoy your day on the outside. The whole idea of the singing trees is just amazing! It's wonderful to go on the park of music pressing the buttons and getting to hear a little bit of each artist that has visited the city and planted a tree (musical and ecological experience).

Super cool place to visit. Interesting reading about the danish maritime history. The submarine was nice step into history. I went during mid-summer weekend and it wasn’t busy. I can recommend visiting if you are in the area.

As a former Royal Navy Submariner, I was particularly eager to explore the HDMS Springeren. The museum was quite peaceful during my visit, allowing me to take my time on board without feeling rushed. The rest of the museum features fascinating artifacts and impressive model ships. If you have any interest in maritime history and find yourself in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful museum with lots of fantastic models and information! It's a must if you like the sea and/or want to get into a submarine. It's also a great place for kids as it has a playground and it's possible to celebrate birthday parties on site. A very human and pet-friendly place, you're allowed to bring your food and eat there, while dogs are allowed on leash. Come to see -among other interesting items- a model of the Royal Ship Dannebrog and learn some new things!

AMAZING maritime museum, in my eyes a world class museum with a near endless exhibits. I could sense the work, effort and passion that went into this museum and its displays. Must have been several hundred models of just about every type of ship you could think of. These aren't basic models these are INTRICATE and DETAILED pieces of art, that took months to create by real artisans. THEN there is the submarine!! I can't imagine a more intact submarine on display anywhere else. This one looks like the crew was in there a few days doing their work. Dials, switches and valves all worked, could even use and focus the periscope!!! In America a display like this would have been striped to the hull before opening it to the public.

It's a nice place to visit. Here, you can enter inside the old submarine. Other attractions are old ship,boats, helicopter, and nice crafted ships. Ticket price 150 DKK

A great maritime experience for adults and children. A huge submarine(Springer) is displayed outdoor which allows you to enter and explore the inner workings as well. An area is dedicated to explain the history of ancient houses of Aalborg with cute little models. The Shipyard hall contains wide variety of exhibits that takes us back in history. The information regarding each exhibit is explained in english too!!! I would recommend to keep enough time in hand to explore all the exhibits.

A pleasant walk through the forest from the kunst museum, the tower sits on top of a hill. Costs DK 50 per person for a lift to the top and the viewing deck, which is also a restaurant, does give some good views and perspective of the city layout. Generally a bit expensive for what you get, but probably has to be done if you're a tourist around here.

Cool place for tourist to lose their money for nothing. Just closed one steel elevator that costs 60 DKK for person. You lift up there to see that there no place, and go down in 2 minutes because there too many people and every window is closed, there no air conditioner and there is too hot. And if you’ll try to get out of there, you’ll be immediately stopped by personal of the tower that will stand in front of the elevator and prevent you to go out without paying. It’s like a jail) It’s the most expensive elevator I have paid for EVER! Not recommend to anyone. There’s Salling viewing tower and restaurant there, and, oh surprise, it’s FREE to elevate up there.

You get quite a good view from the top. There is a restaurant at the top which I wasn't aware . But it's not mandatory to eat there .. you can just pay to go to top, view and get back for a minimal charge . The restaurant has few options only . I just had a beer and salad .

Nice view for Aalborg and surroundings. Its a bit too expensive just to ride the elevator up and go down aftet a while. Especially that majority of the space inside the galley is just a coffee bar and few tables.

Great place to get a complete view over Aalborg. It's small but there's a restaurant and you can sit down and have lunch with spectacular views. Prices are as expected from tourist attractions. When the wind blows you can feel a little bit of movement, so consider this if you're afraid of heights.

Good collection of the war supplies as weapons protection and vehicles. The good thing here is many equipment you can touch and play with. Even the big tanks you can get in and take a look. Kids had a lot of fun. Good for the weekend

One of the best military museums I’ve been to outside the greats - imperial war museum etc… friendly staff -really interesting exhibits of Danish military history. I’d go out of my way to come here.

A LOT of military vehicles and gear. The museum feels kinda crowded, there's really a lot of things being shown in a relatively small space. Descriptions on items are lacking in many places, and some exhibits don't have English descriptions.

Great spot for a great price. There's two huge hangers, an outside parking and an underground bunker all filled with military equipment on display. The main hanger also features side rooms with extra collections like medals or WW2 resistance displays. We spent a couple hours there, and for 80 DKK it's well worth the price. There is free parking nearby.

Great idea for a culture centre and utilization of location and space. This centre is located in an old coal powerplant. Everything left preserved, I was impressed to still see the coal shafts.

Urban cultural hub. Great place to workout, non-blockbuster cinema, live events, food. Feels like you're in a big city.

Great wines, and such a large menu to choose from. Nice and polite service. The food is really nice too, with both big tapas arrangements with Unika cheeses, tapanades and aged, dried meats, and something as simple and amazing as well baked bread with quality olive oils. A real gastronomic gem in Aalborg! If you are in the city you shouldn’t skip eating at this place. We had the big menu which I personally couldn’t handle since it was genuinely a lot of food and every single dish was amazing. We will definitely come again once the menu changes so that we taste something different. A highly recommended restaurant with very unique food.

Excellent, excellent food. We went for the large Emil menu with the accompanying wines and it was well worth it. 5 snacks and 7 courses with wines from all over (including a great Austrian Riesling and pinot noir from Galilée). The chef has a great palate, the layering of flavours was outstanding and at times pleasantly surprising (the pizza; yes pizza; kept hitting you with different flavours). I think perhaps some of the other comments about the front of the house are, to me, simply the staff needing to grow in confidence with what they are serving and their ability. This is a young restaurant but it will go far. This may sound strange but the background music was the perfect choice too for what is served. Just a perfect experience for us.

A really charming place. When we entered an enormous dog greeted us, he was so nice! The service was really good, the could recommend different wine and tell us about them. We also got some tips on what to do when we are in Aalborg. They have a good selection of wine, so that means that you can have wine to whatever cost you like. They have some expensive and some at fair price. The atmosphere was romantic, with dimmed lighting and intimate tables.

I highly recommend Ma Petite France! We hosted a work social event with 12 people, and for a very reasonable price we had a delicious three course meal with a wine tasting of 6 wines! The service was very friendly and attentive. The food quality, presentation and variety was excellent, also catering for various dietary restrictions. The wines were varied and we very much enjoyed the tasting experience, where the host gave a brief introduction to each wine, encouraging us to compare the wines and assess our opinion of food pairing. We will definitely be back, a very heartfelt thank you to all the staff for such a great evening!

Cozy place to have a light french infused dinner with a good french wine. The owners are very nice and chatty. Not with us though, it was hard getting their attention, hence the 4 stars.

Very large convention center, located close to the central station (just a walk through the park), and 20 Minutes from the local airport. Very spacey pause areas and restroom capacity, ok food provided. Good technical support. Many different sizes of meeting rooms. Great with the large park outside for the breaks!

The venue is capable of accommodating large events and congregations. The main stage has excellent quality of sound . The lobby is easily accessed. There's great lighting with natural light coming in from the terrasse, which leads into the park behind. Catering options includes a bar and lunch floor, which were reasonably priced.

My partner and I went to a concert for an organist we have seen on TikTok, and the concert itself was amazing. We loved the performer's enthusiasm. We also thought it was cool that she mentioned that the lighting was going to change to reflect the music before the show - she had apparently worked with the lighting tech during rehearsals, and some of the lighting choices were really amazing and they enhanced our experience a lot.

Was taken completely back to the early '90 in the beautiful Musikkens Hus in Aalborg by Michael Learn to Rock (MLTR). This band is not only great live outdoors but also does amazing work in a elegant concert hall with a seated audience.

Went to a Harry Potter movie-concert, it was amazing!! I can recommend it to anyone - they also have other movies like LOTR from time to time with a live orchestra. Beautiful place, and there is parking right next to it.
