Antico Caffè Greco, located in the heart of Rome on Via Condotti, is a renowned 18th-century café that has been frequented by famous figures like Keats and Byron. As the second oldest café in Italy, it boasts a rich history dating back to 1760.
I wanted to go because it’s the oldest cafe and Nietzsche used to drink there! I'd read the reviews about cost so I went in ready to pay more than usual, but my gosh was it even more worth it than I thought it was going to be. It was like stepping into the past. I loved it. I got 1 iced coffee for €12. It was worth more than three coffees in a Cafe Nero by far!! The staff are lovely and had remembered me from when I'd nipped in for an espresso at the counter when I was just passing through the day before. The day of my birthday I went inside and got a lovely marble table, with a wonderful view. Absolutely worth it 10/10.

A must try on your Roman holiday! Caffe Greco seems to get a lot of mixed review. Having experienced it myself I can say it’s a caffe in its own league. It’s equal parts caffe and museum, not to mention a respectful nod to a time long passed. Being one of the oldest caffes in Europe, people among the ranks of Lord Byron have traversed the threshold and dined within these walls. And for me that is part of what going here is all about. You’re buying entry to be transported back in time and sit in the same spots as some of history’s great minds. I think it’s worth noting coffee culture in Italy is very different from other countries, and especially the US. Usually being a walk up bar where you slap down one Euro, get a shot of espresso in under a minute, drink quickly, and move on with your day. This is not that place. You sit down, get served crème in a silver dish by a waiter in a tuxedo, and order fabulous tortes to indulge in the coffee experience. But keep in mind, by and large, Italians do not drown their food in sugar like so many people, and especially Americans, are used to. I think this is why some people find the experience to be lacking. I’ve always found the food here to be exceptional, but you need to be mentally and maybe emotionally prepared to drop some cash for coffee and cake. This is on the more luxe side of experiences. If that is your thing, then this is a must try on your Roman holiday.

We visited Caffè Greco near Piazza di Spagna and were really disappointed. The hot chocolate was basically just melted chocolate, extremely thick and hard to drink. I couldn’t even finish one spoon. It was honestly unpleasant. We also ordered a small sandwich that cost around €20, and the espresso was €12. The hot chocolate alone was €15. In total, we had just 2-3 items and ended up paying around €80, which felt completely unjustified for the quality and quantity we got. The place may be historic, but it’s extremely overpriced, and the experience didn’t live up to the hype at all.
Jason M — Google review
Rome’s oldest café, founded in 1760, Antico Caffè Greco is less a coffee stop than a living museum of the Grand Tour. Goethe, Liszt, Keats, and Stendhal once sat here, and the red velvet benches, gilt frames, and statuary still carry that salon-like atmosphere. The macchiato and cheesecake I ordered were serviceable (6/10 and 5/10), but the price goes beyond what’s on the plate: it’s the cost of continuity. Greco faces huge rent pressures from its landlord and uncertain protection for its heritage. To sit here is to make a small contribution to a place that has outlasted empires, where conversation and culture have lingered for centuries.
Loo Y — Google review
We went to this cafe hoping to have a good cake and coffee served by experienced personnel and instead found ourselves disappointed by very poor service and unsavoury cake. We ordered a lemon cake that was supposed to be very good according to the waitress’ suggestion. Instead the taste of the cake was abysmal. We got served some kind of jelly looking cake that tasted nothing like lemon. The cream was solid and had multiple colour in it. Something that it is not really common in this specific type of cake. It looked somewhat not really fresh. Of course we did not eat it and expressed our disappointment to the waitress but our complain was unheard and met with unpleasantry which definitely should not belong to this kind of places. In the end we were charged 14 euros for a cake that we did not eat. Would never go back there again.

The coffee shop feels like a museum — the atmosphere is truly unique and different from any regular café. The coffee is good, but the prices are quite high.
NMAS — Google review
Disappointing Experience – Overpriced and Overrated Sadly, Café Greco has become a tourist trap. The charm it once had has been replaced by outrageous prices and an underwhelming experience. We paid €81 for one cappuccino, one espresso, one sandwich, water, and one very mediocre omelette that alone cost €25 — as you can see for yourself. Do yourself a favor: stop by if you must, but don’t sit down. There are far better places in Rome where you’ll find both quality and authenticity without the shock of the bill.

Antico Caffè Greco: A Roman Treasure Stepping through the narrow doorway of Antico Caffè Greco on Via dei Condotti feels like entering a living museum where time moves at the pace of perfectly pulled espresso. Founded in 1760, this legendary Roman coffeehouse has been serving more than just beverages—it's been nurturing souls, inspiring artists, and creating moments of pure magic for over two and a half centuries. The dimly lit interior, with its burgundy velvet banquettes and marble-topped tables, whispers stories of the countless luminaries who once sat in these very seats. Goethe penned letters here, Casanova plotted his romantic adventures, and Keats found solace in the aromatic embrace of Italian coffee culture. The walls, adorned with portraits and memorabilia, seem to pulse with the creative energy of generations past. What strikes me most profoundly about Caffè Greco is how it makes you feel like you're part of something eternal. The ritual of standing at the marble bar, watching the barista's practiced hands work their alchemy, connects you to centuries of Romans who have performed this same daily dance. The coffee itself—rich, bold, and served in delicate porcelain cups—tastes like liquid history. #RomaNeiNegoziStoriciEccellenza #PatrimonioUrbano @negozistoricieccellenzaroma

Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria, located in Rome's Centro Storico near Campo de Fiori, is a charming café known for its traditional Italian coffee culture and artisanal brewing methods. The café offers a unique blend of gourmet coffee crafted from artisan beans by Torrefazione Giamaica, with precision in brewing techniques such as pour-over and siphon coffee.
What an amazing experience. The restaurant was fully booked up but they opened up a back room for us and some other guests. We sat around an over sized table with a bar at the one end. Beautiful spot to have lunch. The gentleman took a seat at our table and went around taking each of our orders. He joked with our children and made us all feel welcomed. The food was outstanding! But the experience was even better. This place deserves far more recognition than it has. Best meal in Rome.
Cherie B — Google review
We visited Roscioli Caffè and tried a few of their stuffed maritozzi and they were absolutely delicious. Light, fluffy, and filled with rich, flavorful cream. Definitely worth the hype when it comes to pastries. However, the service was quite slow, especially considering we only ordered pastries nothing from the kitchen. It took longer than expected to be served. We were seated inside and the space felt a bit clustered, which made the experience less comfortable. I’d recommend ordering takeout and enjoying it at a nearby piazza or park for a more pleasant experience.
Hamoud — Google review
One of the worst aperol spritz and Hugo spritz I have ever had, both with more prosecco just to fill the glass, completely removing the emblematic flavors of both these cocktails. The service absolutely terrible, the server came to serve the table next to us who got seated after us (big surprise it was the owners partner, now it makes sense) after serving us and slamming the drinks in my table I tasted the absolute worst spritz I have had. Terrible place would not recommend to anyone who is visiting or lives here.

Roma is swarming with all variety of tourists and many are rude/obnoxious. The key is to learn a little Italian and connect with the overworked staff like a human. Roma is a marvel, the entire city should be declared a World Heritage site. Where else can you walk amongst 2000 year old monuments to Democracy, Civilization and the Wonders of The Human Creative and Artistic potential?? I tried to get into their Salumeria resto the night before—like most good spots during a massive swarm of tourists and Jubillee pilgrims—sold out. Undaunted I returned the next morning for un ristretto and got a table out front, sipping a perfect 3rd wave Cappucino XL, and enjoying a delicious panino. The swarm of tourists got to me, God bless the staff(!!) of course people from all over the world are hungry/tired and uncertain of how Roma caffe culture works but geesh. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see strict disciplinary measures enforced from Coloseo days(whips?) I moved inside to the counter—that’s where the real fun is!! Learn some Italian and you’ll have the best time with the staff and what few Romans brave the tourists to get their place at the counter. It’s all about standing, mingling and chatting!! I’d go back to Roma tomorrow to repeat this day for an entire week. I showed him a specialty coffee article about best Roman caffes, and he proceeded to write down 5 more that he recommended! I mentioned that I had tried and failed to get into the resto, and he blew me away with his 150% xtra hospitality!! He left his post, inquired down the street, and returned with a counter spot for me at 7 that night!!!! Alessandro(?) Grazie Mille-you’re a true gem. I also needed to find a bike shop to fill my tires with air and the other adorable fellow zoomed in on his phone (my phone didn’t have wifi) and showed me the exact spot!! This is a world class spot in the bustling Campo dei Fiori district. Well run, a legacy group, serving great caffe, and good pastries+panino. But as always, it’s the warmth of the staff that make it incredible. Grazie 🏛️🇮🇹🫶🙏

A great variety of Italian sandwiches and pastries. Something for everyone. Crisp breads and quick service. We enjoyed a great breakfast on the go.

As the reviews suggest, the restaurant is booked up most of the time. Roscioli caffe is the place to go if you’re looking to pick up and go. There aren’t any seats around as many places in Italy. However, you will enjoy of their wonderful one of a kind bread & pizza texture.
Rosbelys G — Google review
Absolute best! Everything tasted amazing.. best way to start your day! Macchiato and fresh maritozzo (this is a must try here!) with a few more viennoiseries (apricot Cornetti, cannoli, fruit custard biscotti)
Paridhi J — Google review
Here’s an updated version including that detail: ⸻ I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially if you’re on holiday and don’t want to start your day stressed. They have three different shops with the same name, but each one offers something different — and the frustration is the same in all of them. One shop has sweets and savoury options, but no coffee and only two tiny tables outside. Another is just a salumeria. The third one finally serves coffee and breakfast items, has some outdoor seating… but the service is surprisingly bad. To make things worse, if you buy food in one of the shops, you can’t sit and eat it in the one that serves coffee. Since they all share the same name, there’s no way for a customer to know this isn’t allowed — and they were extremely rude when informing us. Honestly, save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else with better service and proper accommodation. There are plenty of places nearby where you’ll get good food without the confusion and stress.

La Casa del Caffè Tazza d'Oro is a renowned coffee shop established in 1944 near the Pantheon, drawing in locals and tourists alike. The baristas are known for serving top-notch espresso, cappuccino, and their famous granita al caffe with whipped cream layers. The shop offers a wide selection of expertly roasted beans, including single-origin options like Jamaica Blue Mountain.
This café is an absolute gem! The ristretto here is perfection – rich, intense, and full of flavor, exactly what every coffee lover dreams of. And the Maritozzo pastry? Heavenly! Soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet, it pairs beautifully with the coffee. Every visit feels like a little moment of indulgence in the heart of the city. Truly a must-visit for anyone who appreciates excellent coffee and pastries
Marianna M — Google review
It’s one of the city’s most famous coffee spots, always buzzing with both locals and tourists. Founded in 1944 as a coffee roastery, the café opened its bar in 1946 as a place to taste blends before purchase, and today it remains a true landmark in Rome. They offer coffee, pastries, and traditional Italian desserts. The coffee was decent, though personally I found it just okay compared to the hype, and the desserts were fine but nothing particularly standout. Still, the unique blends, affordable prices, and the experience of enjoying an espresso in such a historic setting make it worth a stop.
Abdulkarim A — Google review
I personally think their iced espresso is a must-try. It has a rich flavor, and paired with the cool shaved ice and cream, it is definitely a brand new coffee experience in terms of both taste and flavor! In addition to ordering coffee on the spot, they also provide their own coffee beans and related coffee equipment. Those who are interested in brewing coffee can purchase them here.
Zen C — Google review
One of the best coffee experiences in Rome! The espresso here is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced—truly some of the finest I’ve ever had. Their famous granita di caffè with whipped cream is a must-try, refreshing and indulgent at the same time. The café has an old-school charm and a lively atmosphere that makes the visit even more enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality, and service is quick despite the constant flow of customers. If you’re a coffee lover, this is a Roman institution you cannot miss. Five stars all the way!
Raymond L — Google review
As my final stop before leaving Rome, I visited La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro, a place that perfectly captured the essence of Italian coffee culture. After spending days exploring and learning the true art of espresso, this was the ideal way to conclude the journey. The doppio espresso had a rich, full-bodied flavor with a pleasant acidity that lingered just long enough to appreciate its depth. Paired with just the right touch of sugar, it was beautifully balanced — intense yet smooth, simple yet profound. It wasn’t just a cup of coffee; it was a moment of reflection — the culmination of everything I had come to love about Italy’s coffee traditions. I left with a quiet satisfaction, knowing that this final espresso would remain one of the most memorable tastes of the entire trip.

La Casa del Caffè Tazza d’Oro is a must-visit spot for coffee lovers in Rome. The espresso is rich, strong, and perfectly balanced — truly some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and efficient, making the experience smooth even when it’s busy. You can also buy their coffee to take home, which is perfect for enjoying the same great taste later. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, and the atmosphere is classic and welcoming. Highly recommended for an authentic Roman coffee experience!

We heard good things about the baking 🥐here so we made sure to drop in. We tried the cannoli with the ricotta cheese filling. It was mildly sweet, not too rich, and absolutely delicious. We tried the Sfogliatella which was good, but a little heavy for my taste. The doughnut, danish, and crossiants were also delicious here. The pastries were flaky, crisp, and are definitely the best we had in Rome. The staff at the desk are not overly friendly, but I went there for the pastries not service, so I was not bothered. You place your order at the register here (it was not too straightforward). I could not recommend this bakery enough, I wish we had one like this at home 🇨🇦

We tried only coffee. It was delicious, but the atmosphere was a bit disappointing because we just came in during peak time. - too many people and too much noise, but it probably is because they have good quality. 👌🙏🏼 But that’s fine. Sciascia Caffè 1919 is a charming and historic café, bar, and shop located in Prati, Rome. Established by the Sciascia family in 1919, it has garnered acclaim from sources like Lonely Planet and AFAR for serving some of the best coffee in the city. The café offers a range of signature drinks and treats, including the Espresso Chocolate which combines rich dark chocolate with their renowned espresso.
We had an amazing experience at Sciascia Café, thanks especially to Lorenzo 🥰 who was simply outstanding! His service, along with the kindness of all the staff, perfectly complemented the exceptional quality of the coffee. Honestly, we haven’t tasted coffee of this caliber in decades! We tried the Affogato and the Velvet Espresso, both were unforgettable. For true coffee lovers, this place is a must. On top of that, if you ask the gentleman at the bar, he can prepare coffee with a touch of artistry and showman, it’s really impressive. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates genuine, high-quality coffee!

Absolutely favourite cafe in Rome, very handy as I've stayed twice in the Prati area (both this year and last.) I couldn't have any higher praise, actions speak louder than words and I visited nearly daily both years where itinerary allowed. Excellent choice of hot drinks, pastries, savoury food and perfect service. Customers always put first as we had asked for help to book a taxi but they took time to explain how to get the metro to the airport for much cheaper. Lorezno is absolutely fabulous and his customer service is second to none!

It can get a bit crowded, but it makes perfect sense- it's that special and yummy! I felt very welcome...good service and staff are so kind. Even with my beginner Italian. I wish we had this in Ireland. I went twice for my short trip to Rome. I'd go back again and again. I got the Caffè con Cioccolata both times. They make it a beautiful work of art and I was sad the next one had to be to-go. Still yummy. And a dessert to try is the Maritozzo.

A MUST VISIT! This was my first time in Rome and I wanted the best coffee and pastries. This place did not disappoint. Lorenzo and Claudio were so welcoming and made me feel at home on every visit. They made the best recommendations for food and coffee. This place was so cozy and inviting we made it our go-to coffee spot during our visit in Rome. Delicious coffee and pastries…be sure to ask for Claudio or Lorenzo for the BEST service and try the tiramisu!

We stopped by Sciascia Caffè dal 1919 and had such a wonderful experience thanks to Lorenzo, our waiter. The food itself was decent, but it was really the service that made the visit special. Lorenzo was friendly, lovely, and genuinely affable — he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and made the whole meal feel personal and enjoyable. It’s rare to find service this warm and sincere. Thank you, Lorenzo, for making our time here so memorable!

I had the best hot chocolate of my life here—rich, thick, and made from real, authentic chocolate. The waiter was impeccable and incredibly helpful, even giving us tips on where to go in Rome. The café itself is stylish and tasteful, offering high-quality drinks and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit!

Sant' Eustachio Caffè is a renowned coffee shop located near the Pantheon in Rome, serving locals since 1938. The cafe's unique blend of home-roasted beans from various cooperatives and water from ancient aqueducts creates a distinctive and aromatic coffee. One of its specialties is the zuccherato, where a sweet frothy foam made from whipped espresso and sugar is added to your coffee.
One of the best coffees I’ve had in Italy so far. The staff is extremely friendly. It has an old-school vibe and they roast the coffee. Very much a local spot that’s how we learned about it. You will not regret coming here for a coffee.

We stopped by Sant’Eustachio Caffè during our evening city tour — one of Rome’s most well-known and historic cafés. I ordered what seemed to be their signature espresso, which came with a noticeably sweet taste, likely due to the sugar already mixed in before serving. The flavor was distinct — smooth, rich, and slightly sweet, offering a different take on the traditional Italian espresso experience. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but it was still enjoyable and worth trying, especially for those curious about Rome’s classic coffee culture. Overall, Sant’Eustachio Caffè provided a quick yet memorable stop during the night tour — a small cup of history and tradition in the heart of Rome.

They are very happy to guide you through the many choices you have from a simple caffe espresso that you drink at the bar to a shakerato, espresso with ice, shaken until cold and frothy. A lovely treat on a hot day. Expect your caffe con zucchero (with sugar), unless you ask for it otherwise. As with any new country, ask how they do things, or watch and learn. Here they order at the counter and then you give your receipt to the baristas who will make it for you. Then you can drink it there or take it outside, to a table or if you ordered togo - keep a walking! They have nice snacks and treats as well, with patio seating and menus in English and Italian.

We bought the millefoglie and sfogliatelle, and both of them were pretty good. The millefoglie is very crisp, but the only part I don’t like is that the cream is too sweet. The sfogliatelle is also not bad, but not as impressive as the millefoglie. Overall, it’s a nice place to buy some sweet treats while visiting this area.

First day in Rome. We were looking to explore the coffee houses of Rome. This place is very close to Piazza Navona, where we were staying. You can order directly at the counter and drink your coffee there. Or you can sit at the table and somebody will come to take your order. We decided to sit down. We ordered cappuccino, croissants (regular, chocolate, and pistachio). Everything was delicious.
Ugam K — Google review
The coffee is great but overpriced. You can get the same quality in many other coffee shops. The croissant is bad but the canoli was good. There was 2 waiters for the people eating there; one is nice and the other is rude. We weren't finished drinking but the rude waiter gave us the bill without us asking. It wasn't even that full so I dont understand the rush. We've been to busier places but never rushed to pay. Also to pay with card, we had to wait in the line with everyone else who was there to grab something to go.

The greatest disappointment of the area!!This is not longer an Italian coffe, as italian, and I also worked at coffe machine in bars, I say that sturbacks is much better. The cappuccino foam was like the bubbles of the shampoo and not creamy, is not compacted and not gradually melted with the milk as It should be, the coffe is nothing special, I asked a short coffe(espresso) but the staff not understood because none of them are Italian, instead they made me a long coffe, the service was crab, when I told them that we were not happy with their coffe and cappuccino they had made and we explained the reasons, considering also the price we spent for then, they just didn't care it at all. The sugar was the economic chimical white industrial sugar, served on tables in plastic cans like ketchup and maionese at the econimic fast-food places, while in any other italian bar you are served at least with 3 differnt sugar types. The tables were not stable and not cofortable. As Italian expert of coffe I suggest you to go to the others coffe bar near pantheon. The cappuccino 6,2 euros

We had heard of this place as a recommendation so we checked it out. We had read about the rude staff, and to be honest, they were lovely. Only problem is the price vs the amount you get on their coffees. And as many have mentioned before, expect to pay even more if you wanna sit outside on their tables. So your 2 options are to eat standing inside or take it to go. Pastries were fresh so that's another plus. Decent place, expensive for what you get.

It's a pretty small place. It closes at 6. It has the best coffee I've had in Rome. The employee was very helpful and explained all the coffees. The coffee he recommended was very good too.

Good specialty coffee. Slightly on the medium darker side, but still enjoyable. As a non dairy alternative they use potato milk, which was an unusual discovery, but it worked well with cappuccino!
Olga S — Google review
By far, the best coffee in Rome! Proper specialty coffee shop with different origins on offer and all the brew methods - espresso, batch, pour-over, aeropress, cold brew. They also do potato milk?? Tastes like soya but sweeter and tasty in iced coffee.

Best 3rd wave coffee shop in Rome. Warm place, kind stuff. They have great selection of beans, prices are good both for beans and brews.

For starters, if your google site says you open at a certain time, then be open. If your hours are incorrect, then fix it. It’s not that hard. As far as the coffee, the worst cappuccino I’ve had in a long while. And it was 3.50€….it better be great for that much (it wasn’t). I’m not complaining because it was bad coffee, simply because hours were wrong and the guy seemed put off that he actually had customers at their stated time. Avoid this place. Instead head up to Euro Cafe a couple blocks up the street. We had coffee there same day and it was excellent and the staff was genuinely happy to serve. Ciao.

Barista was very helpful and welcoming. Overall service was good but they were late to bring us the bill in order to pay. Coffee and croissant were really good. And finally the sandwich I ordered is a most to try. Very delicious, fresh, and full of flavourful. If you’re looking for a good specialty coffee, here you can find it when in Rome.

The only specialty coffee could find in Rome. And it’s super tasty. I was looking for it for 3 days! I mean it’s not a classic Italian coffee that is super strong, but coffee with a taste. I would not say they have an extremely wide choice but at least you will be able to try a coffee that tastes not like a hotel coffee

One of the best 'quick' cafés I've seen in Rome. Very close to Ostiense train/bus/metro station and not too secluded, but still in its own 'pocket' that makes it ideal for a quick 30 min coffee break or a quick catch-up with friends. I'd give the atmosphere more if I could. The quality of products is also amazing, being a barista myself I was very impressed with the espresso, cappuccino as well as pastries, all for very cheap. 10-15€ gets you a couple of coffees, organic juice and pastries. Must-visit for any coffee lover that stumbles through Ostiense.

Great atmosphere & relaxed outdoor seating. Super friendly service and the coffee and tramezzini are delicious!! Prices are super fair - 2,50€ for a great flat white and iced latte. Can 100% recommend!

I went there to get a quick coffee and first look; cozy, VERY fair prices (I got a latte for 1.50 euros, other coffees were similar in the low price) and the staff was very friendly and okay with my horrible Italian. I also decided to get a sandwich for 3.50, and one of the staff explained the Italian name for eggs and salami (my sandwhich) and was very nice to me!! Total 5,00 (due to the service fee), totally worth visiting! The latte was delicious ;).

Unfortunately, our experience at this bar was extremely disappointing. We encountered behavior from the staff that was not only unprofessional but also racially insensitive. A waitress made inappropriate and mocking remarks, and when we brought this to the attention of the manager, he dismissed our concerns and even joined in the mockery, saying, “Don’t like it? Go somewhere else. Ciao!” This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend supporting a place that treats its customers with such blatant disrespect. “Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence." - Leonardo da Vinci

I went into this bar with my new husband on September 23rd. 2017. We enjoyed a drink that was recommended by the bartender. The next morning I realized I left my purse, and hoped it was still there. We went back and found they didnt open until 1pm. When we returned the person working called the bartender from the night before. He told me my purse had been found and was taken to the police station. I was so relieved and am grateful that he protected my wallet, credit cards and identification. ( I forgot my husband handed me 200 euro that evening, it was there too.) I am also thankful for whomever turned it in. Things went poorly whe we arrived at the police station though. Communication was difficult and the office insisted I told him it was stolen, despite clarifying seceral times. I think at one point he called the owner and told him I accused him of stealing. I hope that is not the case, the BAR was AMAZING! We ended up missing our train and had to rush to catch check out of our room and catch the next train or I would have stopped by to appologize and thank him properly. WONDERFUL LOCAL BAR, and TRUELY GOOD PEPOPLE!!!! (Of course the drinks were great too)

Barnum Roma is a charming spot in the heart of Rome, offering a delightful experience from breakfast to late-night bites. The vintage decor and well-maintained ambiance set the stage for an enticing menu that includes a variety of brunch favorites such as avocado toast, scrambled eggs, and hearty English breakfast dishes.
Saw very long que. So, we want to try the taste causing such long que. We ordered the pistachio croissant and then we know why. It is superb to our taste bud. The pistachio paste sweetness is spot on. Not over sweet. The croissant not overly flaky and buttery. Not grrasy. When you bite into it, it's a perfect combination of enough flaky, bready and soft. It's a definite must go when you are in Rome.if you are walking from Campo d'fiori to castel Sant Angelo using google map, you should pass this cafe. You don't need to que if you takeaway. I did takeaway.

We were in Rome for just two days and wanted a healthy breakfast spot and we found this place. On the first morning we loved it so much that we came back again the next day. The breakfasts are delicious, the coffee is amazing, and the croissant completely won our hearts. The service is fast, attentive, and very polite, you immediately feel welcome here. I especially appreciated that the staff ask about allergies or intolerances right away and even warn you if a dish contains something that could be an issue. That kind of care is rare and makes a big difference. Without a doubt, this will be our breakfast spot for all our future trips to Rome. The only small downside is the long queues, but honestly, that only proves how popular and great this place is. Wishing you continued success and hope to see you expand soon!

What a gem of a spot! Barnum's outdoor terrace in Rome is the perfect sunny morning escape—rustic wooden tables, chill vibes, and zero rush. I dove into their fluffy powdered-sugar pancakes (hello, chocolate sauce and fresh fruit heaven), a loaded yogurt granola bowl bursting with berries and tropical vibes, smashed avo toast with poached egg and salmon that was next-level fresh, a hearty brekkie plate with all the classics (eggs, bacon, sausage—yes please!), and a stunning matcha latte with latte art that could win awards. Every bite was spot-on flavorful and beautifully plated. Service? Warm, attentive, and super friendly without hovering. If you're craving an elevated breakfast that feels like a treat, Barnum's your spot. 5 stars—I'll be back! 🌞🍓🥑

Absolutely loved Barnum, we came 3 times. We loved that they had oatmilk and then allergens listed on the menu. Ordered dine in and take out one day and both were easy. If you’re arriving before maybe 9:30 I think a table will be a short wait but they might pick up— everything was fast and I definitely would wait (or just order from the counter to go!). The croissants were some of the best I’ve ever had, the lamination and layers were insane and perfect and they were so buttery. We would get oatmilk lattes, we got bacon/eggs/hash browns one day, pain au chocolate, lemon curd croissant, and plain croissant. The service is super nice and attentive too. You pay at the counter after eating. There are lots of seating options but you must wait to be shown to your seat.

The best breakfast I had in Rome. Simply wow. The salmon bagel was the best I’ve ever had. They cure the salmon every two days. It’s the freshest i have ever had. The croissant, the lemon tart, the morning bun, pain au chocolate, danish with seasonal fruit were all so delicious. The waiters were very very nice especially the twin brothers. Would definitely come here again and might go again tom as nothing beats it her. And the coffee too 😍😍

We ate here last year (finally getting around to writing a review!) We went early for breakfast, and would definitely recommend doing the same. The Norwegian waiting staff was fantastic — super attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The speciality coffee was the best we had in Rome, and the breakfast itself was delicious. All in all, well worth queuing for and a spot we’d happily return to.

Had a light lunch with Girl-wife on our first day in Rome. She had researched it prior to our trip, so it was a priority. Our server Jimmy was very kind and attentive, and showed us around the amazing place and told us some historical facts. Definitely worth a stop!
Don Z — Google review
Went there by recommendation with my family. The restaurant is unique in its decor as it is a historic building formerly used as a studio by Canova. We expected a delicious meal. My husband had the spaghetti ala carbonara and it was dry and bland; I had the pistachio crusted chicken with potatoes and it was terrible, very dry and tasteless. My son had the meat tenderloin and it was good. The appetizer we ordered was burrata with melon but the waiter brought us another appetizer which was ok. The service was mediocre. Overall it is, unfortunately, the Worst meal we’ve had in Italy over the last two weeks.

This review is for the restaurant Canova Tadolini only. This is one amazing place, the interior adorned with Canova marble statues. The food is equally outstanding, not at all a tourist trap regardless of the upmarket location. From specialty coffees served with tasty cookies at the Cafe to mouthwatering Roman and Italian popular dishes (cacio e pepe pasta one of my favorites) at mealtimes. Our servers were also commendable. Can't recommend highly enough!
Christina F — Google review
Worst experience ever. We walked in at 8:10 AM (the café opens at 8:00) after confirming with their waiter, and immediately the host lady started yelling — first at her own staff, then at us — demanding why we entered. Her temper and rudeness were shocking. We left right away and will never return. Reading other reviews later, I saw many people had the same complaint about her behavior. This is a beautiful and unique café, but believe me — it doesn’t worth the headaches.

Incredible place! A wonderful restaurant-museum with many sculptures, interesting history, delicious food and nice staff 👍 Having visited here, I got a great experience, best pasta carbonara and pleasant impressions! If you like sculpture - you should definitely visit this place in Rome!
Tatiana V — Google review
The food is okay but not worth the price. Their shakerato needs more shaking. It didn't reach the stage where the drink becomes creamy due to incorporation of air bubbles. The drink is separated upon being served. Their tiramisu is typical. The layers are visible and adds to the texture but it seems like the second layer is not soaked in espresso. Overall, it's good for the unique ambiance. The woman in the reception is also a bit rude. The rest of the waiting staff is okay.

A true hidden gem with an amazing Sunday vibe. We came for a late breakfast and were welcomed by a DJ spinning 45s, setting the perfect atmosphere. I’m afraid to even type this because I know the weight of these words but … This was the best pizza that I’ve had in Italy. Over the course of a few trips to Italy, I’ve probably had close to 50 pizzas and this one takes the top spot. The biggest difference was the char. The crust and undercarriage was cooked to perfectly. Crispy, light, but pliable and delicious. The sauce and cheese were just as good as any other pizza that I’ve had - fresh and tasty. The diavola had a habanero glaze that provided an extra punch without being too spicy. It was satisfying but not overly filling. Special pie.
Rick G — Google review
If you want to experience something that feels truly Italian and a bit old-school, Ciampini is a nice place to stop by. The outdoor seating area is charming, but inside it’s self-service — you have to order at the bar. Unfortunately, the lady at the counter was quite unpleasant and had a hard time answering a simple question in English. I ordered a cappuccino, and a maritozzo. The coffee was decent, nothing special but fine. The maritozzo, however, was quite soggy, probably from the day before. I paid €4.50 in total, as it’s cheaper without table service (prices are higher if you sit outside). If you’re just looking to take a nice photo in a typical Italian café, it’s okay — but otherwise, not really a must.

Came here a quick afternoon bite after landing in Rome - it was a 5 min walk from our Airbnb. The service was quick and we had outdoor seating. We really enjoyed Caffè Panella and ate breakfast here several times on our trip. The pastries and pizza are delicious. Good coffee also. You first order at the counter and pay afterwards, which is a bit confusing at first, but once we figured it out, it worked fine. Nice outside seating area.
Bieke H — Google review
We had a very pleasant time at Panella, eating the famous Roman pizza. A lovely lady took our order, and even though she didn’t speak English we understood each other very well. Se was very sweet. The pizza was delicious! We felt very welcoming. Grazie mille!
Vanessa L — Google review
I came with my friends and asked to sit outside. One waiter told us to order inside as self-service, so we did. After we ordered and paid, another waiter came and said we weren’t allowed to sit outside because of a “service difference.” Even after I explained that their own staff instructed us to do exactly that, she said she couldn’t do anything and told us to either move inside or leave. They never spoke to the waiter who gave us the wrong information — they just blamed us. Eventually, I insisted on sitting outside and had to convince them to let me pay the service difference. On top of that, when I asked to pack my leftovers, the waitress handed me the container and made me pack everything myself — without even giving me a bag. What service did I even pay for? And to make it worse, they made me pay at the counter instead of at the table. Overall, the service was terrible. The desserts weren’t good, and even the latte and hot chocolate were disappointing.

Caffetteria del Chiostro is a charming cafe located within the historic Chiostro del Bramante, a former cloister turned design space near Piazza Navona in Rome. The cafe offers a delightful experience with its expertly brewed Italian espresso and a marvelous view of the ancient cloister. It's an ideal spot for a light lunch or to indulge in coffee and cake while being just steps away from the beautiful Piazza Navona.
This spot ranks in my top 10 places to work while enjoying a coffee or tea, completely immersed in a surreal and inspiring atmosphere. Entrance is free and there is a museum inside the Chiostro. 100% worth a visit!
Luisa G — Google review
Inside the former monastery and now the museum Chiostro del Bramante a cafè shop with two salons for serving and a gangway seating observing the courtyard from above. The cafe-shop salons are decorated in tune with the running exhibition. In our case it was "Emotions". The food we had was missing esprit. Especially the veggie burger needs an urgent make-up. One a much lighter note the cafe drinks served were all up to snuff. The staff were fast, friendly and funny. Everyone could come here from the street without going through the exhibition. Do it, it is worth it.

Chistro Del Bramante include exposition and the cafeteria ! We just went to the cafeteria because we heard the spot is beautiful which it is ! To go to cafe, it’s free ! You don’t need to pay fees or entrance The cafe is opened for breakfast, lunch, brunch or cocktails ! We just have cappuccino ! It was ok ! The place has Renaissance style with mix of clsssique and moderne ! Lots of colours ! Very nice place to chill

Very colourful and beautiful, but it is on self serves and the music is really low at the caffe. They don’t have a lot of food. I had a good time enjoying my morning there, recommend.

Great place to study or read. They have fast free wifi. You can work inside (where they have some outlets, but not at every seat) or outside if you want something more quiet. Inside is really beautiful and worth checking out but sometimes full. Food is average, I ordered the brownie which was a bit dry. The bathrooms are nice and clean. Overall recommend this place to get a couple drinks with friends or get some work done. [update] Quite disappointed as I went today after not going for a while and they said you now have to buy a museum ticket to go to the cafe. Shame 😕

Regoli Pasticceria is a century-old, family-owned bakery located in Esquilino Rome. The shop features arched ceilings and is renowned for its classic creme-based pastries and tarts. Locals flock to Regoli at all times of the day, particularly on weekends, to indulge in their mouth-watering pastries, with the maritozzo being a standout delicacy.
An oasis when I am waiting for my hotel manager in a super hot summer. Their Cannolo Siciliano is superb. Its wrap is crispy. The cream is not too sweet. The cream also offers a bit crunchy texture as there are some chocolate chips scattered inside. The chopped pistachios are also fresh. Their coffee fizz passion also offers a surprise in the way that it is refreshingly sour and sweet without compromising the flavour of coffee. Their ice cappuccino caramello salato also strikes a good balance between coffee, milk and salted caramel. I also tried their seafood spaghetti. Their seafood is very fresh. Their spaghetti is al dente but can be a bit soft. Their sauce is just fit. Not too salty. After all, nice pastry and summer's special from this pastry cafe. Also a delightfully delicious lunch from this cafe. The place is clean. The sunroom is spacious. The attendants are friendly and diligent. A place I would visit again when I come to Rome next time.

If you also like Italian cream buns, then you absolutely cannot miss this bakery. In addition to being able to choose large or small cream buns, it also offers a variety of different styles of pastries made with cream and ordinary bread. In addition, the shop is actually composed of a main bakery and a coffee shop. If you only want cream buns, you can go directly to the coffee shop to place an order and buy the coffee you want. But if you want to take away or choose other styles of pastries, you can only buy them in the bakery first and then go to the coffee shop to choose your favorite coffee. In short, this is also a must-try bakery in Rome.

Stopped at Regoli Pasticceria to try the Maritozzi, and it was definitely worth the short wait in line. Service was quick and friendly, and the pastry was fresh, fluffy, and delicious. There are plenty of other tempting options in the bakery too. Would definitely come back and recommend- so tasty!
T R — Google review
Worth the visit. Great service. Delicious pastries. This spot was a 10min walk from my hotel and I stumbled into it one morning looking for a caffe. Ended up eating a cannoli and taking some pastries to go. The Sfogliatella was delicious, it had 2 different types of stuffing, the main being the traditional style semolina creamed mixture as well as a cannoli ricotta style. The ricotta style didn’t not have the same taste as you would except, it was creamer. Different from what I am use to but delicious!
Tom T — Google review
This spot is worth it! If possible you need to try this while in Rome. Cappuccino was great but the Maritozzo was amazing! Far better than anything else we tried. It was delicious light and fluffy, sweet but not too sweet. I enjoyed a large by myself and I don’t have a huge sweet tooth. If ever in Rome again I would go every time!
Matthew R — Google review
This was my first time trying the famous marritozzo from Regoli, and it didn’t disappoint. The brioche bun was very airy and fluffy, with a slight lemon zest to it, which I enjoyed. The whipped cream was also very light and delicious, as it wasn’t too sweet. I wouldn’t go out of the way, if you’re only in Rome for a short visit, but do recommend if you’re nearby the establishment.
Joshua A — Google review
The fagottini di ricotta is (no exaggeration) the best pastry I’ve had in my life! Highly recommend that one, and the wild strawberry tart is very good too. The maritozzi and cannoli were just okay in my opinion, but they seem to be really popular. Went here 2 days in a row, once at 8am and another at 10am. There was no queue at 8am but at 10am I had to wait around half an hour, so definitely try to go early.

Ever since I tasted the wild strawberries tart in 2024, I've been impossible to satisfy my craving. I’ve searched everywhere, but nothing compares. There’s simply nothing better than a chilled, freshly made cream tart topped with ripe wild strawberries—I just can’t get enough.

Necci dal 1924 is a historic cafe located in the charming Pigneto district of Rome. Once a rustic watering hole, it gained fame when featured in Pier Paolo Pasolini's film 'Accattone.' The cafe is known for its simple, traditional recipes and laid-back atmosphere, attracting locals and visitors alike. It offers Roman pasta dishes, meat specialties, Italian wines, and aperitifs.
We really enjoyed ourselves during our recent visit. The service was amazing, and so was the food. The clientele are mainly locals. The neighbourhood is off the beaten tourist trap but well worth it. We ordered most of the starters and enjoyed them all!

Really good food, all staff very friendly. The atmosphere was great the place was busy and full of chatter. Ordered a bottle of Rose and two courses the total came to €50! As we waited for our food complimentary potato chips were left at our table. Highly recommend this gem.

Great food and service. We got a bottle of wine, 2 apps, 3 mains, and dessert, and all of it was great, no notes. Even brought chips while we waited for apps. The carpaccio in the photo may not look good but the flavour combination was unreal.

My favourite place in Pigneto. They’ve got an amazing garden, which looks magical at night with all the lights on. The food’s very good and reasonably priced. Plus I read up it was Pier Paolo Pasolini’s favourite spot to hang out, and there’s even a mural dedicated to him just around the corner.

Living in Rome for a short period of time, this place is honestly the best. I’ve been here 5 times in the past 2 months, and it’s still one of my favorites. The seafood is super fresh, the pasta is amazing, and the atmosphere is great. My favorite: the octopus is grilled perfectly, slightly crispy on the tentacle tips and tender in the thicker parts. And all of their homemade pastas are cooked perfectly and paired with fresh, seasonal ingredients. ❤️

Rosati is a well-established Italian restaurant and chocolatier with an art deco ambiance. Situated in the heart of Rome at Piazza del Popolo, it offers outdoor seating with picturesque views of the square's landmarks, including seventeenth century churches and an Egyptian obelisk. The menu features traditional Italian dishes such as pasta, risotto, and cooked meats, along with a tempting selection of pastries and robust espresso drinks.
We had an amazing night here! A big concert in the piazza made for such a fun atmosphere. The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and engaging, even with our large party of 12. They seamlessly handled both the adults’ and kids’ tables, bringing great energy and fun to everyone. While the prices were a bit higher than spots deeper in the city, the overall experience — especially with the live music — made it completely worth it. An unforgettable evening. Just make sure you check what wine you order before asking for a bottle - I’m assuming they brought the more expensive ones after we saw our tab 😂❤️ - oops. our own mistake. Grazie Mille!

A great view makes this cafe a special one. Although these kind of restaurants are a bit tourist trap in touristic cities but this one is just fine and you can enjoy spending your time here. A bit pricy in some items but still good. I had a cup of tea but some things on the menu seemed a bit expensive. I would like to go back to try some dishes.
Behnam — Google review
Ok 5 stars for service and atmosphere but only 3 overall. This is due the 19% service charge they add to your bill. The food was good and the desserts were amazing. Our waiter was very nice and professional. It's a very expensive restaurant as well.
Dwayne J — Google review
We had a very quick breakfast there while waiting for our TukTuk tour. Cappuccino was really good as in most places in Italy, croissant and fruit tart were fresh and moist. Kids loved their fruit salad as well! Their outdoor sitting area is overlooking Piazza del Popolo so great place to chill. And as the day was quite hot they had little water dispersing hoses on top to keep it little cooler.
Aleksandra R — Google review
really great service!! started with good appetizers and pasta. finished with some amazing dessert and really nice wine. overall amazing.
Naomi A — Google review
Where is hospitality? They charge you 20% of all, but never do anything. So rude waiters, tourists trap. Good things are location and no waiting for all the time🤗
Kohei H — Google review
First of all, the 19% service charge is written clearly on the menu - as illegal as it likely is - and we decided to stay knowing we would pay it. The atmosphere at sunset is lovely, the history of the cafe between literature and cinema is well known, and we enjoyed spending time there. The drinks were sub-par, especially the non-alchol spritz which tasted like grandma's century old candies. The 5.5% additional charge for paying by card, unannouced, would have been worth calling the Guardia di Finanza if we didn't want to ruin the relaxing time spent.
Francesco — Google review
Não frequentem este restaurante, eles adicionam valores na hora de pagar. Fiquem atentos. (Não existe taxa de serviço na Itália e nem gorjeta). Prestem bastante atenção na hora de passar o cartão pois eles adicionam valores sem você ver. It is very sad to know that, in a beautiful place like Rome, we have a dishonest workers and a place that accept them and probably even make them act like that. First of all, the price is ridiculously high, which we could accept if the problem stopped there. But then comes the bill, and they add service, which, for who doesn't know, doesn't exist in Italy. Tip it is another thing that doesn't exist here, unless you reeeeeeaaaaally want to tip your waitress. Our bill came with 12.16 Euros in service, which shouldn't. The total (with the tip/service) would be 76.16. On top of that, the waitress charged $79.16 and played dumb. We could have left a real tip for her and even a nice review, even going back every day because we are a few steps from here, but dishonesty doesn't fit our pockets. I wonder how many people are struggling because they come here on a budget and fall for this terrible trap and scam. Look, the food is ok, nothing speacial, nothing marvelously delicious, just ok. The price is already high for an okay food, there is no need to do this at all. Ever! I am 100% sure that, all the money you guys are scamming from honest customer (yes, this is theft), won't make you rich, and a little further in your days the life will make you, the dishonest ones, pay back in double. Just remember: don't accept to pay for service (you can call the police, the number is 113) and check the price they put in the credit card machine before you pay. Leave tip if you want, but remember: it is not usual to do so in Italy.

I’ve found my working place!!! 😎Gosh love this place so much. For those who’s been looking for a working/studying place where you can work calmly and having a nice space for discussion in group / online meeting in Rome (which quite hard to find) this could be your place too. It’s a bit off side from the center in Ostiense/pyramid area. The place is spacious & the staffs are friendly. How does it work? 1. When you arrive tell them you are intend to work/study. 2. Pay €5, this would be the min. credit for your food & drinks. You can take a coffe, then take chips, then something else.. only when you consume more then you have to pay the additional price for the food & drinks (which is fair). Bonus: *sometimes they will have event at night so you will see stage complete with the music instruments. *they have various books in case you’re in the mood for reading *they have a complete bar for alcohol & non *they provide plugs & wifi

A great place created for people who need a spot for studying or smart working. The principle is easy: you come and pay a 5€ deposit that you can spend during the time you are staying there. There are a lot of zones with different seats, sofas, and chairs, and the wi-fi works pretty well. Come here if you prefer to work in silence and if the presence of other working people inspires you. Productivity is guaranteed by the vibe of this place 😌💻 I put 4 stars only because the bathroom is always dirty and the flush button is broken.

I was blown away by the cool atmosphere of this place. Live music playing 60' 70' swing and jazz, people dancing and enjoying. Decent food and drinks. Reasonable prices as well. Stumbled across this fab café on my last day in Rome recently. Had the most amazing smoked salmon & avocado salad with fennel, pink grapefruit & orange - sounds like it shouldn’t work but it was fabulous, so much so I’ve had to recreate the salad at home. She takes it back and it’s substituted with chicken. As I continued to eat I see a piece of bacon in my bowl. Two Sizes is a popular spot near Piazza Navona known for its delectable tiramisu in two sizes - small and big. The small size allows you to sample various flavors like strawberry, peanut butter, caramel, lemon, and the highly recommended pistachio. While there's no seating inside the shop, you can take your order to go and enjoy it by the Fontana del Moro nearby.
We stopped by Two Sizes for a tiramisu fix and it did not disappoint! The concept is fantastic. It is offering this classic dessert in two perfect portion sizes. We tried both the original and the pistachio tiramisu. The original was absolutely flawless; creamy, coffee-soaked, and everything a great tiramisu should be. The pistachio version was a delicious and creative twist, with a wonderful nutty flavor that complemented the mascarpone perfectly. It's a must-visit for any tiramisu lover. The quality is outstanding, and it's the perfect spot for a quick, delicious treat while exploring Rome. We highly recommend trying both!

Two Sizes is a must-visit in Rome for tiramisu lovers. The name says it all, you can choose either a small or large portion, and every bite is fantastic. They have several flavors besides the classic, including pistachio, caramel, peanut, and strawberry. The pistachio, classic and caramel were all my favorites. The texture is perfectly creamy with just the right balance of espresso and sweetness. It’s easily some of the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly and is absolutely worth it. A perfect stop for dessert while wandering through the city.

We were craving tiramisu as we wandered through the streets of Rome on our last day in Italy. We had planned to order it during lunch, but then we came across a small pastry shop called Two Sizes. The sign claimed they had the best tiramisu in town and there was already a line outside, which felt like something we had manifested. We joined the queue and eventually got our hands on their classic tiramisu. We picked up two large cups and couldn’t wait to dig in. One spoonful was enough to know we’d found something special. We finished it faster than we expected. It was excellent and almost as good as the one we had in Bern at a place called Luce. A really memorable experience.

I tried this tiramisu based on the great reviews, and even though the line looked incredibly long at first, don’t hesitate to wait — it moves very quickly. I’ve had tiramisu in many places across Italy, and I can honestly say this one is truly something special. If you’re in Rome, it’s definitely worth trying.
Razvan B — Google review
A quick service tiramisu place where you’ll find tiramisu in 2 sized cups. Hence the name of the place. They serve 5 flavours, Classic, Caramel, Strawberry, Pistachio, and Peanut. We tried Caramel, Classic, and Strawberry. They were all good. Nothing too fancy and definitely not the best. You can definitely have better tiramisu at other restaurants. Big cup is €4 and small is €3. The cream tasted fresh and quite filling and the base was nice and moist. We also tried a small chocolate Cannoli which was essentially Nutella filling. It was fine and I believe it costed €2 You can give it a try if you just got out of a nearby restaurant and are craving a casual dessert.

We had the classic, pistachio and peanut butter! Delicious!! 👍👍 and the staff were so nice & friendly! Grazie! But please also check out Pellegrino Gelateria Monteforte, only a few minutes walk from here. They have the best pistachio Gelato ever! Great building's history as well.
Tina M — Google review
The little shop was steps away from some amazing restaurants. The line was large but it moves very quickly. As the name implies, there are two sizes to choose from; however, there are several flavours. We went with the classico and it did not disappoint! For quick takeaway tiramisu, you cannot go wrong!

The reviews for this place are NOT EXAGGERATING. What a beautiful establishment. What beautiful employees. What fantastic tiramisu. They have not one, but TWO sizes of the most delectable tiramisu in town at the most affordable price in the whole of Italy. Fruit lovers will rejoice at the sight of their Fragola flavor. Love nuts? You're covered. Feeling creamy? Caramel is there. And of course, the Original is utterly OUTSTANDING. I am still in shock and awe. Praise be to Italy for birthing such a wonderful tiramisu shop. May Pope Leo bless this beautiful beautiful shop for many years to come.

Forno Campo de' Fiori is a well-established bakery offering a variety of traditional sweet and savory baked goods as well as slices of pizza. Despite the bustling atmosphere in the central piazza, their simple yet delicious pizza by the slice is a must-try. The bakery offers different toppings such as tomato sauce, salt and olive oil, zucchini flower, anchovy, and mozzarella.
Amazing! The service is super fast, and the food is amazing, at a fair price. I got the sandwich pizza with mortadella, ruccola e parmigiano. They heat it up at the moment. It truly was amazing!! There are no tables or seats, just a little table on the wall where you can put your beverage

An excellent, thin crust, take-away pizza!! We shared the red pizza and the Margherita. Fresh, quality ingredients, and crispy crust! And I loved that you could watch the pizzas being made as you ordered. My only complaint is that we had to eat the pizza at an Irish pub nearby because the pizza place was take-away only.
Michelle — Google review
I had the mortadella focaccia and the bread tasted fresh. The flavors were extremely simple, with a focus on the freshness of the ingredients. I also had their ragu suppli and it was the highlight for me. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside!
Abdullah — Google review
One of my favourite panini spots in the city! Always the freshest, tastiest ingredients and the bread is always perfectly crisp and doused in high quality olive oil. Highly recommend the simple mortadella panino and any of the vegetarian options but especially the one with zucchini, tomatoes and grated provolone. Sweet, ripe tomatoes are such a treat when in Italy. Definitely get your panini to take away and sit on the edge of the nearby fountain in the piazza to enjoy them in the sun.

IlForno in Campo de’ Fiori has been a staple for us whenever we’re in Rome, and more often than not, we find ourselves visiting multiple times a day. It’s the ultimate spot for what we call “walkie-talkie pizza”—fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious slices perfect for grabbing on the go while soaking in the energy of the piazza. Since 1970, this bakery has stayed true to its roots, never compromising on quality or tradition. Every bite reflects the care and skill of the bakers who craft their pizzas and breads daily, using the best ingredients—rigorously extra virgin olive oil, high-quality butter, and rich, flavorful toppings. There are no shortcuts here, just pure, honest flavors that have stood the test of time. Whether it’s the classic pizza bianca, the irresistible pizza rossa, or any of their other specialties, Il Forno never disappoints. The aroma alone is enough to draw you in, and once you’ve had a taste, you’ll likely be back for more (as we always are). A true Roman institution and an absolute must for anyone in the area!

Another top-tier Roman bakery. Their pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice) is excellent. A great way to end the Roman food experience.
Nika K — Google review
We did a food tour and this place was our 2nd stop. The pizza blanco and pizza margherita were excellent. The bread was crispy, fresh, and not too heavy. Our first taste of a traditional Italian bakery did not disappoint.

I came at 8.30am and no long queue. I got my focaccia and pizza al taglio… both are still warm and was soooooo good. The focaccia is the best, it’s crunchy but soft.

Il Sorpasso is a charming Italian eatery located near the Vatican in the Prati neighborhood. Unlike other restaurants in the area, it offers a menu that reflects Tuscan and broader Italian traditions, featuring delectable cured meat and cheese platters, pasta dishes like pasta e fagioli and parmigiana, as well as orecchiette and gnocchi. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating with a casual yet upscale atmosphere.
This spot came highly recommended by our tour guide for those looking for a true Italian experience. Very little English on the menu (thank goodness for Google translate!) but our server was able to speak English very well and we asked him for recommendations. He brought us a tray of different cured meats and cheeses from different regions. There was another server that walked around the patio and offered various appetizers which we loved. My husband and I both had baked Parmesan, My son had the lamb spaghetti (not a red sauce... And he didn't know it was actually going to be served on pasta), and his fiance ordered the beef ribs. All of the dishes were delicious. Our server also brought us a bottle of sparkling red.

Highly recommending Il Sorpasso. The service was inviting and they found us seats without a reservation. The vibe is chill and it’s a place for foodies—. The selection and quality of meats, cheeses and wines is superb and local. The menu changes weekly; the bread is fresh and the flavors deep and fulfilling. You will not get a random, bland tourist menu, here. It’s hip, tasty and confident in its approach to food and service. Toilets were clean and spacious. The wild ham was truly a delicious experience- aged 30 months.

We had been recommended to go here and it was the best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Rome. We hadn't booked so went early and they found us a table, good that we did as when we came out there were queues to get in and all tables inside and out were full. The food was excellent, the beef filet cooked perfectly, and the beef tatare delicious, followed by sublime cheesecake and cannolo, plus excellent wines. The service was by far the best we have had during our stay, with extremely pleasant and professional waiting staff, happy to advise on any of the dishes on the menu. Would definitely recommend eating here and booking a table before you go.

Typical Italian place, food is more than amazing. Everything is so delicious that you keep eating. Staff is attentive and always ready to help. There are also canapés going around to give you an extra taste of freshly cooked food. 😍Cannot recommend more

First and foremost, exceptional service. Sara was incredible. Super friendly and gave great recommendations for food and drink. Favorite meal in Rome so far! We had this for lunch after touring the Vatican. So close, but much quieter area.

A heartly and lively bar restaurant, with professional crew who very well know and obviously love what they’re doing! I first randomly dropped in having a bourbon sauer cocktail, they offered me a plate of delicious aperitivo made of different slices of cheese, fresh toast, and delicious ham. Prosciutto was so soft it would melt in your mouth. The day after, I went there again with my girlfriend for the last dinner in Rome, the Beef fillet was amazing, tender and delicious. the sides were its own delicacy, never thought I would love red cabbage so much (which I usually don’t) bought some 24 month aged Ham for the way back! Best restaurant experience I had in Rome, definitely suggest it!

A Must-Visit in Rome! Il Sorpasso was one of the best meals we had during our time in Rome. The wine selection was excellent, the food was incredibly tasty, and every dish felt fresh and full of authentic Italian flavor. Babington's tea room is a charming and historic establishment located near the Spanish Steps in Rome. It was opened in 1893 by Isabel Cargill and Anna Maria Babington, offering a British-style tea experience to English expats and locals alike. The fourth generation of Isabel's descendants, Chiara Bedini and Rory Bruce, now manage the tearoom while preserving its late 19th-century ambiance.
Wonderful Experience at Babington’s! We had the best time at Babington’s Tea Room with friends, and a big part of that was thanks to Nicole! Her service was truly exceptional warm, attentive, and so welcoming. She made us feel right at home. The cakes were delicious, the ice tea was perfect and the cocktails the whole atmosphere was just lovely. Nicole really made our visit special. Highly recommend!

A lovely tea shop with a very nice design. They offer a wide variety of teas and desserts. When I asked the lady at the counter, she told me the desserts were halal. I was too full to try them, but it could be a nice tea time option for Muslims looking for halal. Still, I recommend asking again before ordering.

While I was only able to stop for a “to go” tea since we were sight seeing, I’ll give my thoughts on my time waiting in the cafe area. The service is very nice and I was able to get my tea quickly. They even took my tea bag out at the appropriate time before I left the shop so I could enjoy the peak flavor while drinking it. They have tons of options of tea, and food. There’s tea you can buy inside the shop, but don’t rush! Go and enjoy the journey of the tea. If I am back in this area I would absolutely stop in for a proper tea time. The atmosphere was very authentic and quiet, even considering its location next to the steps. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. What an awesome place even if you’re not a tea lover, they have other beverages as well.

Great high tea (and coffee) near the Spanish Steps! I saw Babington’s many times as I made my way back and forth across the metropolis of Rome. After dinner one night I was craving something sweet and swooped into this lovely tea room. Even though it was near closing they still took my partner and I for a quick dessert. Could not have been happier with the torte. Light and rich at the same time and tons of great flavor thanks to the strawberries! Id highly recommend this place to anyone wanting an upscale breakfast, sweet treat, or high tea as you shop to your hearts content.

It's just an expensive coffee shop with a lot teas from black tea, herbal, to fruits. Also, special teas from China and Japan. Lovely place and beautiful service. But honestly, it doesn't deserve that expensive price for cup of tea or coffee.

Babington’s Tea Room is not only a calming and inviting spot to hang out or work, but it’s also a part of the Spanish Steps and the rich history of Rome. The owners, with their deep love for the history of the tea room, are always happy to share its fascinating past. With a fantastic tea selection—including iced, hot, and tea-infused cocktails—it’s a destination for more than just refreshments. The eggs Benedict and cheesecake are personal favorites, and the lovely, welcoming staff and owners make the experience even better! A visit here is as much about the history as it is about the ambiance.

This is one of my favorite places. There’s a wide variety of food, including bread, pizzas, desserts, and beverages. It’s popular with both locals and tourists. The food is made from fresh ingredients and cooked really well. I’ve been here several times. It’s a perfect spot for lunch. It’s just okay for breakfast or a late lunch, though, as many items start to sell out. It’s kind of a “safe zone” place I choose when I don’t know what I feel like eating. Highly recommended.

We were in Rome for a holiday, and we tried to choose as a tourist a "tipical" italian place/bakery where we can get a "tipical" italian breakfast. What can I say.... Everything was delicious, this place is amazing and totally recommended. Staff are very kind and helpful. There were other breakfast places closer to our accommodation, but after our first morning here, we decided to come back for a second time. As tourists, it was a bonus for us to get a glimpse of how Italians have their breakfast (i.e., a quick cornetto at the counter while waiting for the espresso to brew) 😁 (On the second day, we went a little later (around 10:00-11:00 a.m.), by which time most of the pastries had been replaced by lunch items on the counter (as can be seen in the photos))

Molino bakery bar & cucina is a popular spot in Rome, known for its inviting atmosphere and frequented by students, freelancers, and coffee enthusiasts. The cafe offers a delectable selection of Roman pastries and excellent coffee and tea. Visitors rave about the fantastic pizzas, particularly the margherita, veggie with fig, and mortadella options. The cafe also provides a great environment for working with ample seating and outlets available.
Nice Italian breakfast. Worthy for money in comparison to other breakfast options with orange juice and cappuccino or espresso available. Indeed the orange juice is freshly squeezed. The cappuccino also tastes nice. The croissant is covered with some honey / syrup. This demonstrates the tender heart of the chef. The fruit jam is also dense in texture, demonstrating its prime quality. The place is clean. The sunroom is spacious. The attendants are also friendly and diligent. A good place to start your day.

The take-away bar is great. Very fast, just order at the register. People staying at the hotel get a 10% discount. The table service is okay, but one waiter kept taking stuff off our table (oil, candles) to give to other tables, and he didn't even ask. That was a little weird. The servers are otherwise very courteous. The food was tasty, good portion sizes.

Even though the staff was very friendly and welcoming, I wouldn’t come here again. The waffle tasted rather industrial, almost like one from a vending machine, and it wasn’t worth the €10. The cappuccino, however, was quite good and nicely presented. The table still had crumbs and streaks from however when.

Really delicious dishes. Fantastic choice of products. The manue is based on traditional cuisine but at the same time the dishes are brilliantly reinvented within the traditions. It's amazing to find such a sofisticated place in the middle of tourist location. Very nice design. Reasonable prices. A really caring good service.

Went here for breakfast to fuel us for a busy day. Coffee was really nice but unfortunately no black tea if you don’t like coffee. A few tea infusions to choose from but sometimes they just don’t hit the spot the same as black tea. Location is great, we sat outside and had a nice view of the Santa Maria Basilica. Overall the food was okay - English breakfast was good however one strange thing the baked beans were cold, to the point where they didn’t even seem like they had been warmed up and just gone cold. The salmon avocado toast was very good. Would recommend if looking for a decent breakfast
Kirsty W — Google review
Molino Bakery is a cozy and lively spot that’s definitely worth a visit! We tried the avocado toast and a pizza with ham — both were really tasty and freshly made. The avocado toast was creamy and perfectly seasoned, and the pizza had that nice balance between a crisp base and rich flavor. You can really tell they use good ingredients. The place gets quite busy, especially during breakfast and lunch hours, so it took a little while to place our order. But the staff stayed friendly and attentive even with the crowd, which made the experience pleasant overall. If you’re not in a rush and just want to relax with great food and a good atmosphere, Molino Bakery is a solid choice. It’s the kind of place you could easily come back to — whether for a quick snack, coffee, or a full meal.

The Man behind the counter, Federico was very helpful at guiding me through their wide selection of delicious pizza. Also, which beers to go with I was extremely pleased with the service and the food was fantastic. I recommend this place over any place next to the Colosseum restaurant’s next to the Colosseum Use the proximity to lure customers however, their food is subpar simply because they do not believe they need to earn their customers loyalty. I ordered a lasagna at one of the two that are overlooking the Colosseum. I forget the name at this moment, but it was the worst lasagna I’ve ever had in Life, and I’m in Italy. Molino is the #1 Recommendation if you’re looking to eat authentic delicious Italian food. Here is a picture of my great time at Molino pizza!😁👌

I did not have a good experience with the food. Others at my table enjoyed their food but mine made me sick to my stomach. Salmon avocado sunrise (0/5) - poached egg was practically raw. It made me sick to my stomach and I unfortunately couldn’t eat the rest of my meal. Vegan Caesar Salad (2/5) - half decent but missing a lot of flavor. Was warm though. Lovely place with priceless view from Navona square. Great spot with better shade to avoid the sun! That what took us here! But for a place that wasn’t busy in the middle of the day it was shocking bad service. From never come to see if we wanted something to go to check info and never come back. Menu is mixed some has in English some doesn’t. When asked about English menu they just pointed to a QR code that’s in exactly same way of the one on the table… if you don’t know Italian you can’t read the whole menu and if you don’t know English as well. Useless menu really!!! Food you can see from what it was supposed to be a Nachos with guacamole mole….. can’t say more that my pics. Just see from yourself. Lovely place but it needs someone to run it properly urgently!

I had vegan brunch, my partner wanted to eat buffola but at 11:30 they were out of it. Our drinks did not arrive still long after we already ate (two coffees mind you). Cannot blame the staff too much, there were only two servers on a sunday, one outside one inside to do all of the chores. Interior is nice but the atmosphere is sub par. If you must eat in the area and are vegan, I would go to another place.

Surprisingly Perfect Burger in Rome I’m usually not a big burger fan—especially when traveling in Rome, where I’d rather “do as the Romans do.” But we stumbled upon this place when we were already quite tired, and I thought, why not try just one small meal? To my surprise, it turned out to be one of the best burgers I’ve had in ages. The bun was wonderfully crispy, and the meat was perfectly cooked just as I’d asked. It came with delicious fried potatoes included in the price, which was a great bonus. The view from the spot made the experience even better, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. While Rome is full of amazing restaurants, if you’re craving a truly great burger, I couldn’t recommend this place more. The menu had a huge variety of options too, which was impressive. Absolutely delighted—highly recommend!

And I have never experienced being treated different (as a tourist). So I cannot agree with the bad recommendations in here. In fact, it is a beautiful family owned nice place with amazing quality in food. And I’ve seen a lot, trust me! Big recommendation!

We loved this cafe! Their delicious sfogliatella and coffee were a real treat. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Especially the lovely lady at the counter was full of energy, delivering the best customer service and she even treated us to free pastries! We left feeling really happy and cared for. Highly recommended!

Bar as they call it here in Italy. Not sure if they like Americans, one server behind the counter was snappy to my friend. But the pastries were delicious.

Amazing bakery and café! A must-visit when you’re in Rome — everything looks and tastes incredible. They also serve great lunch options. We came here every single day during our trip just to try something new. The croissants are the best I’ve ever had!

We lived right up this place during our trip to Rome, so we had breakfast here almost every day. Their pastry was so good, and the coffee excellent. Their gelato may not be as well known as the one at the end of the street, but I must say it's much better. We will miss this place.

At Mondi, Romans go to take sweets to someone's house as a sign of good will – the pastry shop is popular for its assortment of mini-shortbread crusts filled with cream and topped with fruit. You can either have them enjoy them at the bar, or grab a table to eat them properly.
They have the delicious gelato ever, I recommend the shrimp and avocado sandwich

Ice cream is great but service is horrible!! I felt mistreated, i asked which ice cream doesn’t contain gluten itself contamination is not a problem and the answer was i don’t know, al contain with an angry face. Well who knows then if even angry woman who serves ice cream doesn’t??

This is our local and favorite place for a top quality cornetto (get the mandorla!) and cappuccino. Prices are a bit more than other bars, but the quality is worth it! They are also open every day, even Ferragosto. Check out their desserts and gelato in the evening, too!

Amazing Ice Cream. Although more modern Ice cream places are filling Rome, this place gives you an amazing feel of how Italian ice cream used to be 10 years ago. Been going here since I was 3 years old.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Rome's historic center, Er Baretto is a delightful café and restaurant that perfectly captures the essence of Italian charm. Established in 1998, this cozy spot offers an inviting atmosphere with its sunny terrace and ample outdoor seating—ideal for enjoying a leisurely lunch or dinner with your furry friend. The menu features a variety of simple yet delicious Italian dishes, including panini, pizzas, salads, and vegetarian options to satisfy every taste bud.
We stopped by for an afternoon coffee and pastry. Everything was delicious! The coffee was great. The indoor and outdoor seating is limited, so you might have to wait for a table. We visited at an off time, around 3pm and there were tables both inside and out.

A great little find, lovely authentic Italian food and beverages, served with a smile. The setting and atmosphere are second to none. You can eat in or Alfresco. I had a Diavolo pizza for dinner(amazing) the wife didn't leave any of her Carbonara either. They have a varied menu of Coffee and di breakfast and snacks too. Have been here 3 times at various times of day and had an excellent experience every time Highly recommend to everyone

Cute little place to pop in if you're nearby. We had coffee, which was great, and sandwiches that were nothing special considering the price which was pretty high for what you get. We all tried some cannolis which might be the tiniest I've ever seen, pricey but tasty. The woman who served us spoke English very well and she was very kind, she made our first morning in Rome brighter (even though it was raining).

If you’re not welcoming to tourists or international customers, why open a café in a tourist area? I visited this café on 24 July for a quick afternoon espresso, drawn in by its strong Google reviews and the award plaques by the door. Not realising there was table service, I went up to the counter to order. No one corrected me — instead, I was met with cold, dismissive service throughout. The atmosphere was tense: the staff looked burnt out, and the manager seemed visibly irritated. I did end up ordering a dessert — the tiramisu was fine, though the cocoa-powdered “OK” on the plate was… unexpected and confusing. It’s a shame. The coffee and food were decent, but the overall experience left a sour note. I wouldn’t return.

Bar Monti is a stylish bar located in the vibrant Monti neighborhood of Rome, offering an array of delightful treats. This charming spot provides a perfect setting to enjoy delectable antipasti, pasta, pastries, sandwiches, and cocktails. Situated near major attractions such as Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum, it's an ideal place to savor Roma coffee while exploring the area. The cafe boasts friendly service and a sophisticated yet unpretentious ambiance.
Tucked away on Via Urbana, one of the most charming streets in Rome’s Monti district, Bar Monti is a gem worth discovering. I stopped in for a latte macchiato and the prosciutto with mozzarella—both were excellent. The latte was smooth and perfectly layered, and the mozzarella was fresh and creamy, beautifully paired with delicate slices of prosciutto. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, and I loved the laid-back vibe of the street outside.

Little gem hidden in a beautiful little side road. We've discovered it after a long day exploring Rome and were instantly caught by the beauty of that place. Reasonable prices, good self made lemonade, tasty Spritz and friendly personnel.

Nice little lunch spot. Chicken salad was good. The eponymous salad was not as good; slightly weird combination with the apple cutting through the avocado. But, not bad at all, and not too expensive for the area. Lovely decoration on the Hugo spritz as well!

My cousin lives in Palermo and brought us here — what a fantastic experience! Everything felt so authentic and delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the servers were wonderful. Before the pasta, they served a dish they called ragu — some kind of flavorful beef — and it was absolutely outstanding. The pasta dishes and desserts were also wonderful. Highly recommend!

Fata Morgana is a renowned ice cream shop in Rome, with multiple locations across the city. The owner, Maria Agnese Spagnuolo, is known for her innovative and high-quality ice cream flavors. She constantly experiments with new recipes and creates unique seasonal flavors like fig milk, black garlic, Taggiasche olives, pink grapefruit with ginger, and more. The shop also offers fairy tale-themed flavors for children.
By far, this is one of the best gelato thst I ever had. The staff is super friendly, and the ice cream is made with natural ingredients and super tasty. If you are in the area, don't miss them...also it is worth a detour.

A bit of a queue but definitely worth it! A unique range of flavours and great value for money, 3€ for a double flavour cone! Would have it every day!
Alexandra Ș — Google review
This was by FAR the best gelato I had my entire trip! And as someone gluten free, having a super tasty gluten free cone made it all the better. The pistachio and straciatella were super creamy and perfectly flavored. I do wish the pistachio had been a bit stronger, I found it to be a little mild, but it was still incredible. The employees were all very friendly. They always ask if you want whipped cream on top too! Which I did not experience at any other gelato shop. Overall, PLEASE make your way here if you’re staying in Rome, gluten free or not. I wish I could take it back to America with me!
Lexi B — Google review
Creative flavors, solid quality—perfect if you’re okay with a quick in-and-out experience! 👍 Stopped by this Fatamorgana location after an evening exploring Trastevere and found out they’re known for their inventive flavors—definitely worth a taste 😋 The shop was crowded and the pace felt rushed, but being able to sample a few flavors while waiting in line made the choice easier (and fun) 🤗 Fatamorgana is a chain with multiple locations across Rome. While I usually prefer smaller, one-off gelaterias, the quality here still stood out. Note: There’s no seating inside, so it’s a true grab-and-go spot. We ended up enjoying ours while wandering the neighborhood before it melted ✨
Alexandra H — Google review
We visited a couple of times - flavors are great, there's a wide selection and the quality is high. The first time the service was efficient and friendly enough, the second time the woman serving us was surly and really stingy with the amount. For the price, it should be better. Picture is from the first visit - the second time we paid for a bigger size, and got less.

Quintessential authentic Italian gelato with no frills and extremely kind and patient staff.
Abdullah — Google review
If it would be possible to give 10 stars I would. The flavors where out of this world! They where SO GOOD! Only negative point is that the portions are relatively small, but the price is also really fair compared to other places… so honestly… it’s still a MUST TRY if you’re in Rome.
Hussein — Google review
They have a massive range of flavours to choose from, including some truly wild ones! We didn't try the habanero flavour, for example, but we DID try the avocado, lime and wine flavour, the cocoa, ricotta and pear flavour, the coffee, chocolate and toasted hazelnut flavour and the gorgonzola flavour. The taste across the board was very nice, however the texture was quite icy and quickly quite watery.

Torrefazione Ciamei, also known as Ciamei Caffe, is a beloved family-owned coffee roaster located in the heart of Rome near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. The establishment boasts a cozy interior and offers single-origin coffee beans for purchase, allowing customers to recreate their favorite brews at home. While some visitors were surprised by the barista's lack of knowledge about certain brewing methods, they praised the friendly service and delicious pastries available.
We keep coming back to this cafe because of their coffee, the staff, and value for money. You get really good coffee for about €1.3 depending on the coffee. They don't have additional charges for table seating. The place is quiet in early mornings but gets quite packed throughput the day. We also liked their pastries. Is it a women owned and run business? We're not sure but we only see female staff members.

Very rude staff. My boyfriend and I just came to order two cappuccino and something to eat bzt the staff was incredibly rude towards us. When we ordered she only communicated in rude hand gestures, in a very angry tone and short sentences. But towards the other customers she could speak friendly, fluent English. We cannot help but think it has something to do with our ethnicity- especially after reading multiple reviews describing the exact same thing. The pastries were okay, the coffee wasn‘t. I wouldn‘t go here again to be looked down upon.

Just went there this morning for a light breakfast. Atmosphere is very nice and calm, lots of locals in to grab their morning cup. Extremely rude staff. I walked in at about 19:45, not realizing they were closing soon. I was just looking around for the menu when the lady with dark hair, who was cleaning the espresso machine, suddenly started slamming things around. Banging the machine for no reason, knocking over tools… looked more like she was trying to break the machine than clean it. I went up to ask when the shop closes, and she didn’t say a single word. Just held up 8 fingers. I asked again, a bit confused, and she repeated the same gesture, now staring at me like I had just shoplifted something. The energy was so hostile, I just turned around and left. A few moments later, she stormed out of the shop, threw some trash bags to the ground, and muttered something under her breath. She was visibly angry. I get that maybe she had a bad day, but that doesn’t justify acting like this toward customers. I never even got to try their drinks, and honestly? After that kind of treatment, I’m not planning to.

I had morning coffee at four different local espresso bars in Rome during my stay, and this was my favorite. Coffee was the best, and the pistachio croissant was so good. The couple sitting next to me was having orange juice with panini and that also looked good! Wish I had this nearby where I live.

Love - Specialty Croissants is a charming and modern bakery in Rome that draws inspiration from Scandinavian and French bakeries. It offers a unique experience, distinct from traditional bakeries or neighborhood bars. The caramel croissant is noteworthy, with a sweet filling complemented by a slightly excessive amount of external sugar. Visitors praise the delicate savory croissants, delicious desserts, and superb specialty coffee made with Ethiopian beans. The welcoming environment and professional staff add to the overall appeal of this establishment.
This might be one of the best places I’ve had breakfast at during all these years of living in Rome. The staff are incredibly polite, respectful, professional, and kind—always welcoming and truly hospitable. The quality of the croissants was outstanding, and even the coffee was excellent, with a unique taste that set it apart from other places. The atmosphere was absolutely lovely and cozy, but what impressed me most was the owner’s respect and care for customers. Why? Because every single detail—big or small—had clearly been chosen with thought and taste, perfectly matching the style of the place. I wish I could give more than five stars! I truly enjoyed having breakfast here. Congratulations to your strong and professional team, and thank you. I will definitely be coming back again ❤️

I came across this café about 15 minutes from the Vatican and it turned out to be one of the nicest stops of my trip. I tried the croissant with cream and it was outstanding fresh, soft, and full of flavour, probably one of the best pastries I’ve had in Rome. I also had two coffees, an Americano and a flat white, and both were excellent. The Americano was smooth and rich without being bitter, while the flat white had a creamy texture with a perfect balance of milk and coffee. You can tell they put care into every detail. The café itself is bright and modern, with big windows that bring in natural light and create a relaxed atmosphere. It feels like the kind of place where you can take a break from sightseeing or sit down to work for a while. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Even though I only tried one pastry this time, the quality left a strong impression and makes me want to come back and explore more of the menu. This is definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re looking for excellent coffee and pastries near the Vatican, away from the usual tourist places.

Fantastic cafe for coffee and pastries. We came here for a quick breakfast before our Vatican tour due to it's great location 2 blocks down from the Vatican Museum entrance. All the pastries were delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Fantastic coffees with different roasts and blends to choose from. We had the cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant and croissant crema. Crispy texture with just the right amount of filing in each one. Highly recommend coming here if you are into your baked goods!

The pastries were wonderful we tried one filled with plums that was excellent, and the coffee was great too. The service came with a warm smile and was very pleasant. The only downside was that there were no almond or soy milk alternatives. Since I avoid regular milk, this took away a bit from the experience, as it feels only natural to enjoy a coffee guilt-free alongside a pastry. The coffee itself was tasty, but having to settle for something I normally wouldn’t drink slightly overshadowed the overall enjoyment.

I recently stopped by Love – Specialty Croissants, a cute coffee spot known for its croissants. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try their famous croissants this time, as the place closes quite early (around 15:30). I ordered an Americano, which was not bad — smooth, simple, and good enough for a quick coffee break. I also tried a pastry with feta cheese and spinach. It was okay, nothing extraordinary, but decent if you want something savory.

wow, amazing caffe. I walked for over an hour befor sunrise to make it in time for a view point and to beat the que (partly a success). But wow , I had the cappuchino which did come a but cold because they were busy, but still well made, smooth and strong. With that I tried the moon love coffee paistry and the fruit danish. It's the first time I ever take 2 paistries in one sitting, but I had to try. Of course I had to fight myself not to finish them. The moon love coffe was my favorite, with an amazing light multi-thin-layerd crust, filled with a creamy not too sweet coffee custered, and topped with a fluffy coffe cream. The second was Deliciouse as well with grapes and vanilla custered.

Best Castroni shop in all Rome, in my opinion. Large and very well stocked. I was looking for Mexican and other Tex-Mex and Latinamerican products and found many of them! From cans of jalapeños, mole paste, dried chilies, flour tortillas, corn tortillas, corn flour (Maseca), etc., they have them! Even Valentina picante sauce, which it’s my favorite! They have it! They also have many American products like BBQ sauce, salad dressing, etc. Plenty of spices and other cooking products from Asia, Germany, etc I did not have a chance to look at everything but will do next time!

Located in the beautiful Piazza Navona, Caffè Domiziano is a great place to enjoy a meal in Rome. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great choice for any time of day. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly.
after getting rejected from restaurants close to my hotel, I wandered around Rome, and stumbled across the menu street side of read it, saw what I wanted. thought on how my last experience went and walked away, went back to try and find another choice something lighter, but as I hadn't really eaten all day after just having arrived in Rome and traveling and checking into my hotel. with all the tourists walking around and all the talking it was a bit much on my mind to not panic a little bit. then after I walked away again and went back to look for another item I might try.. out walks a nice lady, who asks me in English, what I wanted to eat. I stumbled on my words then stated what had happened with my last experience with a restaurant, and how I went back to the hotel and looked it up and it was probably due to the fact that it was to early for them to serve me a pizza, she looked at me plainly and said... "I have never heard of those customs in Italy before" she showed me to a seat and said that they would serve me what ever I wanted at whatever time, from the time that they open to close, they cook. she sat me at a table outside ass it was still fairly hot outside and inside would be worse, the tables and everything being out of the sun and the nearby fans made the whole area feel safe and calmer, and my nervousness went away. I got some drinks and suggestions on drinks at my request, got an appetizer (deli meat and honeydew melon), then a carbonara, a limoncello spritz then a Hugo spritz, desert of gelato and something to help digest. all really good food. I paid and realized that on my way back to the hotel I tipped to little and went back the next day and bought more food and brought the previous receipt, bought more food and tipped for that nights meal and the previous nights properly. Anna was there and I explained what happened and she accepted my apology. another great meal left both time happy Anna is the Best!

I totally understand the reviews. However, you know the prices beforehand, it's all written on the menu, they are high indeed. Bear in mind the location in the square with the amazing view of the fountain, especially at night. They didn't force us to sit down and the staff was friendly and polite.

I dined here with my mother and my daughter — three generations together — and overall we had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent, right in front of the beautiful fountain at Piazza di Largo di Torre Argentina. Sitting outdoors was relaxing and scenic. The food was decent, and the waiter who served us was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Because of his warm service, I was happy to leave him an extra tip. When paying by card, I was prompted to select an additional “service fee” of 13%, 20%, or more — I chose the lowest option. Later, I checked the Google reviews and realized the restaurant has a relatively low rating, mostly due to this extra charge. To clarify: the 10% service fee included in the bill is what the manager told me goes to the restaurant, while the extra percentage I selected at payment is meant to go directly to the waiter who served us. I truly hope this additional tip reaches him, because his service was deserving. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but I’d advise other guests to be aware of how the service charges are structured before paying.

Our last night in Rome, rainy and sad. Stopped here for a light dinner and also for a view of the Fountain of the Four Rivers. Given the convenient location right on Piazza Navona, we were happily surprised with the quality of our food: insalate verde, minestrone and lasagna. Our server Julio was attentive and charming. We would go here again.

A must-visit Restaurant in Rome. Pizza with fountain views! We had an unforgettable dining experience at Coffee Domiziano, a charming restaurant and café located right on Piazza Navona with breathtaking views of the Fountain of the Four Rivers. This spot truly captures the heart and soul of Rome — perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy delicious food with an iconic Roman backdrop. From the moment we sat down, we were treated to outstanding service. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. He made us feel welcome and relaxed, even though the square was bustling with people. We started with a Caprese salad featuring fresh mozzarella di bufala, sweet tomatoes, and fragrant basil — simple, classic, and bursting with flavor. We also ordered the Roman-style artichokes (carciofi alla romana), which were tender, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. For our main course, we had two authentic Italian pizzas — one traditional Margherita and the other topped with prosciutto and fresh arugula. Both were baked to perfection with thin, crispy crusts and high-quality ingredients. To finish, we were surprised with a complimentary shot of limoncello, which added the perfect sweet, citrusy touch to a wonderful meal. The real magic of Coffee Domiziano, beyond the food and service, is the location. Sitting outside, looking out at Piazza Navona, watching street artists and the energy of Rome all around — it’s an experience that feels straight out of a movie. This is one of the best places to eat near the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, or Castel Sant’Angelo. It’s perfect for a romantic lunch, people-watching, or simply soaking in the magic of the historic center of Rome. If you're searching for a great restaurant with a view in Rome, or a place for Italian pizza, fresh mozzarella, and local Roman specialties, Coffee Domiziano is a must-visit. Whether it’s your first time in the Eternal City or your tenth, this place offers an unforgettable experience you’ll want to return to.

Great place to stop for lunch. Went with a group of 10 and we were immediately seated. Service was fast and friendly from.start to finish. Our group had a number of different pastas and pizzas and all were very good. Suggest sitting outside so that you can see the Piazza Navona and have a great view of the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) by Bernini.

They gave us raw sausage meat which could poison us and told us that it is normal in Italy like that, but its not! Scammers tried to charge us water we didn't order for 6.5e. The health and financial inspection should check this place!!

Sit down at Caffe Domiziano and enjoy La Dolce Vita. This place I found it on my walk in Rome. I wanted an espresso and to rest for a while... Next moment I was enjoying a delicious plate of Italian food. The food was great, the staff was amazing and the atmosphere nice. I stayed here talking with the staff for couple of hours talking about nothing and everything. I really enjoyed it and I will be back next time. I highly recommend it if you want a good time and some delicious food.

Homebaked Porta Cavalleggeri, located near Vatican City, is renowned for serving the best American breakfasts in Rome. The restaurant offers a cheerful atmosphere with bright yellow walls and friendly service. Despite being close to tourist attractions, the prices are reasonable and the staff is patient and accommodating. It's a great spot for a quick bite after visiting Vatican City, offering delicious options like grilled cheese sandwiches with ham and chicken wraps.
The food here is amazing. So filling, yummy & delicious. Good presentation too. Great prices. Right behind St. Peter’s Basilica, stop by before/after your tour. 10/10, would highly recommend. Very nice wait staff. I was served by Carolina who’s really lovely.

What we got here was the comforting aspect of an American breakfast. There was a feeling of coziness about the French toast, and the buffalo chicken wrap. The lemonade could have been sweeter to balance out the tartness. The service was prompt, and I was glad to rest my feet here after a tour of the Vatican. The place is done up in warm shades of yellow and features cozy textures like wood.

We are headed here again today before our tour. We really enjoyed this place delicious breakfast and if you’re a bacon lover from America, you will love it. We had French toast breakfast times 2 my husband and daughter had mimosas. That were delicious. The orange juice is fresh squeezed. The coffee is good. We can’t see anything negative. It was a great experience. Great service, great food.! Clean!

Caffè Doria is a posh Italian bistro located within the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, featuring framed paintings and a historic fountain. It's an unassuming little cafe situated between the Pantheon and via del Corso, offering a quiet and peaceful retreat. The ambiance is relaxing with carefully selected high-quality ingredients used in their delicious food. The staff is known for being super sweet, making it a favorite spot in Rome for many visitors.
This is a more upscale spot for lunch, but I found it well worth the experience. It was incredibly quiet, with outdoor seating tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle. When we arrived around noon, there was no line, but by the time we finished our meal, a long line had formed—so timing matters. The coffee was excellent, and the meal was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The only thing I wouldn’t order again is the bread tray—it wasn’t worth the €6 in my opinion. Overall, a relaxing and high-quality dining experience.

It’s a nice place to have a drink and some light bites. It’s definitely a very relaxing and charming oasis. The fried chicken appetizer is amazing! We got in without a reservation at around 6:45PM but if you come later you might not get in without a reservation. It’s priced reasonably I would say relative to other places (not trattoria but also not Michelin level prices). Only one point off for service. It started raining and they moved us to another table after we asked and then told us we have 10 minutes there as it was reserved. I’m sure they probably forgot it was reserved or didn’t check when they told us but they should have either moved back our original table away from the rain or not straight up say we have 10 min and have to move all our places and glasses again. Other than that recommend, it’s a nice place to visit at least once

This was a quiet gem during our stay in Rome. The charming interior and peace garden courtyard made it a perfect spot to escape the crowds. The garden was also less hot than other restaurants. Lunch was excellent, the coffee and desserts were also delicious. It’s so well hidden that it makes in feel very special.

We visited Caffè Doria for both breakfast and dinner yesterday, and it was absolutely fantastic. The breakfast service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful—such a lovely start to the day. In the evening, we returned for dinner and cocktails, and we’re so glad we did. The cocktails were hands-down the best we’ve had in Rome—expertly made, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The peaceful courtyard atmosphere in the evening made it all the more special—calm, elegant, and a perfect escape from the city’s buzz. The setting and service combined made for a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!

Gelateria dei Gracchi is a renowned ice cream parlor in Rome, known for its artisanal approach to creating delicious treats. The gelateria takes pride in using seasonal fruits and offers lactose and gluten-free options. Alberto Manassei's establishment was among the first to introduce natural, healthy ice cream without pre-gel bases and additives.
Possibly the best place I went to in Rome, there I discovered my now favourite ice cream flavour: dates and walnuts! I do not know who thought of such a concoction but I am so thankful that they did. I will literally go back to Rome for this alone. When paired with dark chocolate as the other scoop it felt like heaven right in my mouth. Thank you universe!

Incredibly tasty. I ordered small size with two flavours: Yogurt and fragoline di bosco. The yogurt is very creamy and milky while the second one tastes like a milk shake full of the berries. Very fresh, not so icy neither too sweet. It is optimal for someone like me that can’t take too sweet stuff . Love it.
Wenqiu K — Google review
Gelateria dei Gracchi is absolutely next level! From the moment you step in, you know this is no ordinary gelato spot. The texture is unreal — super creamy, nothing icy, nothing artificial. Every flavour tastes honest, made with real ingredients: pistachio that truly tastes like pistachio, hazelnut with a hint of roasted warmth, fresh fruit sorbetti that zing. The seasonal flavours are a treat too — they change things up so you always want to try something new. The shop is charming and modest, nothing flashy, but that’s part of what makes it great. The décor doesn’t distract — the gelato is very much the focus. And despite busy times, the staff are friendly, helpful, and seem genuinely proud of what they’re producing.

I think everybody say the same thing, but in all the gelaterias I have tried in one month in Rome? This one is probably my favorite. Recommended by a Roman waiter in Prati (that’s a good sign) It’s a very small shop, no pretentiousness, just the product, the real gelato with real fruits pieces in it, the perfect balance, not to sweet. I tried pistachio and salted caramel and it was a blast . Ask it with Panna (whip cream) and don’t hesitate to pay a little extra to have real cones

This is near our hotel and we have come back twice to try other flavors . The pistachio flavor brings back all those memories of travel to Italy. The dark chocolate with rum was interesting. The gelato was not super sweet that you feel you will have diabetes soon. It taste so natural.

Nestled just off Via Tiburtina, Said Since 1923 is a delightful chocolate haven that beckons all sweet-toothed travelers. Established in the vibrant San Lorenzo district of Rome, this charming spot began as a chocolate factory and has evolved into a beloved café and shop. As you stroll through its inviting space adorned with antique chocolate-making tools, you'll be captivated by the array of handmade chocolates on display.
this is a truly special place in rome. in my opinion part of what makes it special it’s its somewhat hidden location in one of rome’s most versatile yet punk neighborhoods, san lorenzo. the space, with a mixture of the old industrial looking chocolate factory bits and the almost bohemian and elegant atmosphere it’s very intimate which i love. i’ve been here multiple times both for dinner and aperitivo and i like that they have a seasonal menu, so you can always try something new. their food concept is quite unique and untraditional but with that homemade touch. i also can’t forget to mention that the waiters are really friendly

"I Dolci di Nonna Vincenza" is a family-run bakery in Rome that offers an authentic taste of Sicily. The bakery imports homegrown nuts and ingredients directly from Sicily, such as almonds and pistachios, to create their delicious treats. One must-try item is the Olivette di Sant Agata made with almonds, while those craving intense pistachio flavors can opt for the simple dry cake made with flour, eggs, honey, and pistachios.
A lovely place. A must if you wanna have some Sicilian pastries in Rome. I had a small cannolo with ricotta and a cake stuffed ricotta and powdered with a bit cinnamon. The flavors were very decadent and well balanced. The ricotta was delicate, not too sweet and the crust was crunchy and not too oily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They prices are a bit pricy but totally worth it!
Kassem M — Google review
There is something not quite right about the pistachio cannolo. The pastry that encases the filling curves in quickly from the middle, clearly too little pastry relative to the amount of filling, and the filling was very underwhelming - not quite sure how best to describe it but it was thin and not as creamy as past cannoli I’ve had - like very diluted ricotta cheese filling. It was also evident when some filling got onto the paper, you can see how translucent it is. True cannolo filling will be thick, and creamy, not translucent. Regretted getting the large one. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t come back again. But if you really want a cannolo in Rome, perhaps best to get a small one to sample first.

We discovered this lovely little café near our hotel in Rome, and it quickly became our go-to breakfast spot every morning. The ricotta-filled cornetto was absolutely incredible. I still think about it and can’t wait to have it again on my next visit! We also enjoyed their cannoli and coffee, which were both really good. The staff were friendly, and the place had that cozy, local Italian charm 🤍

A good try, they're most known for their cannoli, so we were set on ordering it. I never had a cannoli, so I was glad to give them a try here. They have a limited seating area but I was able to snag a free table. We got three small cannolis to share: ricotta, limone, and pistachio. We enjoyed the limone the most, followed by the ricotta. Overall, we enjoyed the cannolis here, glad I was able to get a table so that we can rest for a bit as we enjoyed the sweets. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Whenever in Rome I always come to this little pastry shop, as I love cannoli and they have several sweets which are worth trying. You order at the counter, pay, and then you can sit in one of the two rooms they have. The place is not crowded with tables, so you can relax for a bit without being bothered. Their coffee is ok, while the cannolis were delicious. I had two small ones, one with orange and the other one with lemon cream. Crispy, tangy and with much filling. Staff were very friendly and pleasant, prices quite honest. Overall a great find.

Bar San Calisto, located in the heart of Trastevere on Piazza di San Calisto, is a popular spot that has been around since the 1960s. This down-to-earth bar offers a variety of Italian beers, long drinks, and cream-topped coffee granita. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling with locals, students, and occasional tourists enjoying the affordable drinks and lively surroundings.
Wow. The soft bread with the whipped cream filling was incredible. For 1.5 euros it can’t be beat. The cream is soft and slightly sweet but very fresh. The bread is soft and has a slight sugar coating on the bottom. You order at the cashier, get a ticket and then show the barista the ticket. I had to use photos of what I wanted to show the cashier and the barista because I don’t speak Italian.

If you want to see the locals and get away from tourists a bit, I suggest coming here before noon. The cappuccino was only €1.20 and it was delicious! I also met an old Italian man who sits under the church, playing music through the speaker on his bike and doing his hobby. I’d love to see him again—he even played some Turkish music after learning that I’m Turkish. Such a lovely man.

I heartily do not recommend this establishment. The gentleman who served us looked like he was tired of life. The aperol we got is a joke at a price of 4€ (in the picture its size). In addition, instead of an orange we got half a lemon. A trap for tourists.
Michał K — Google review
Very crowded, drinks are so so, do not have many seat, trash bin next to our seat also. The good things are: cheap drink, music is nice.
Huy H — Google review
This is the ultimate local gem in Trastevere. By day, it’s your go-to for one of the best cappuccinos in Europe and a pastry that’ll make you want to linger and people-watch. By afternoon and evening, it becomes a buzzing, super affordable hangout for a cold beer with the locals. The vibe is authentically Roman, and the longtime staff (the guy at the till has been there for ages) add a nice touch of character. It can get pretty packed, and there aren’t tons of seats outside, so you might need a bit of patience to snag a spot, but honestly that’s part of the charm. If you’re staying in Trastevere and want an easy, super local spot for your morning coffee or an evening drink that won’t break the bank, this is your place.

Let me start by saying that I think the place is nice for when you're with a group. As a woman alone in Rome, not so much. I lived down the street and tried several times having lunch at this place. The staff would ignore me when I sat down and there were other tables to clean or groups to attend to. I get that it's busy during lunch, but not even saying anything to me or looking at me after 15 minutes is something else. Moreover, one time I saw how they told an elderly lady, who had difficulty walking and also already waiting for 10 minutes, that she could not have a coffee outside, because it was lunchtime. At the time, the terace was half filled and no people waiting. I get that the centre of Rome is busy and that a single woman would obviously spend less than a group of people, but this was downright unkind.

Amazing cafe. The pastries are simply amazing, the juice is freshly squeezed and the coffee divine. On first inspection the shop doesn’t look like much but look around at the detail and settle in. The total experience shouldn’t be missed.

Has the best Spaghetti Al Limone in town also has the friendliest waiting staff in Rome. Update March 2022: they removed the Pasta Limone from their menu. 🥲 To the owner: Why did you remove the pasta limone from your menu? 😭 You were the only restaurant serving that dish. 💔💘
M B — Google review
Good location, nice staff. Probably okay for aperitivo or a caffe but would not recommend a full meal. I tried the seafood risotto and it was less risotto more rice with sauce and the seafood was fairly low quality and the dish had an overwhelming fishy taste. It was also delivered to me within 2 minutes of ordering and was cold.

Such a good vibe in Roma. In the center of the city, yet on a square with a soft and subdued light at night. Mostly locals but the staffs speaks virtually any languages. Prices are an absolute delight (3e50 for a 66cl Peroni). To top it of, even the food is good ! Special shoutout to the pasta al limone. Extremely recommended

Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina is a bustling destination in Rome that offers an array of culinary delights. It transforms from a deli to an A-list restaurant during mealtime, with tables set against the cheese counter and a selection of remarkable Italian and foreign wines. The menu features exceptional dishes such as the renowned carbonara and delightful burrata, along with local and Spanish cured pork, and Cecina de Leon.
My partner and I enjoyed a truly delicious meal featuring Cacio e Pepe - a simple yet exquisite pasta dish with the perfect harmony of cheese and pepper. Alongside it, we were served a selection of fresh breads that complemented the flavours. The restaurant’s location adds a distinctive charm to the overall experience, and it’s clearly a favourite among diners. I’d recommend booking well in advance. Despite the busy atmosphere, our waiter was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Service was prompt, yet never rushed, which made the evening feel relaxed and well-paced. To finish, I had ice cream while my partner opted for a meringue cake. We were also treated to a few biscuits with rich chocolate sauce for dipping. It was a delightful and indulgent end to a memorable meal.

I first came here over ten years ago and recall the food and service being good, so I decided to take my wife here for lunch during our recent visit to Rome. Unfortunately, the restaurant has changed quite a bit, and not for the better. We arrived a little early and were told by a lady with a clipboard that we needed to wait outside until our reservation before being seated. What followed was a roll call of sorts where we were treated as though we were being granted entry to some sort of exclusive nightclub. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and the walls are adorned with all sorts of wines and spirits. It’s a little cramped inside, but that’s part of the charm, I suppose. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t live up to the slightly pretentious air of the place. While it was decent enough, it certainly wasn’t worth the price, as we spent over 40 euros a head for a couple of small starters and two bowls of pasta. My tagliatelle ragu was dressed with an excessive amount of pecorino romano which overpowered the flavour of the sauce. The restaurant could save money on ingredients and improve the taste of the pasta by using it more sparingly in future. The tiramisu was also fine, but nothing special. Overall, this place simply isn’t worth the money. In the evening, we went to Kung Fu Express for dinner and the food was half the price and twice as good.

It was hands down the best of the best from this entire trip. If you’re in Rome, this place is an absolute must-go! The Parma ham I had here was honestly the best thing I ate during my whole vacation — truly unforgettable. The wine list and every single dish were just amazing, absolutely mind-blowing. The place is always busy and full of energy, and the servers are constantly on the move, but that’s part of its charm. I’ll definitely be coming back multiple times next time I’m in Rome. The food here is something I’ll never forget! It just became my and hubby’s fav restaurant in the world💛

The food was amazing and the menu had so much variety. The charcuterie selection was super rich, and the new-season olive oil was incredible. Paola recommended the olive oil to us, and it was so good that we ended up buying a bottle after our meal. But honestly, the best part of the whole experience was Paola herself. Her energy, communication, and positivity were the true highlight of our dinner. Her historical explanation about the pork cheek made the dish even more meaningful. We’re really happy we got to meet her. A restaurant we absolutely recommend and one we’ll definitely come back to.

Food is pretty good, albeit completely overpriced. My carbonara came out cold, with almost no sauce. The tripe and foie gras was good, as well as the prosciutto and tiramisu. Service was a mixed bag, our waiter told us there is no gluten free bread even though there was and we had to ask someone else to get it. Also, if you get seated at the counter clients will come in and order stuff to go over your table which is a bit weird.

Our second visit , the carppacio is unreal and to sit in a working deli is fantastic the staff were great. I actually had to go to a bank for a tip as I felt awful they couldn't take a tip on the card. They don't need this review as they were sold out on a Wednesday night . Fantastic food great wine served by lovely people.

Defenetly did not disappoint 😊 !!! I want to believe that when someone want to try the new Italian Taste - at this place they must go. Prices are a bit higher in balance with what they offer in quality. Atmosphere is fantastic. The lady which explained us the food obviously well trained. A joyful place !!
Claudia R — Google review
Deee-licious! The menu is large to the point of being overwhelming, but high-quality ingredient sourcing defines the restaurant. Everything we ordered was excellent, but particular highlights were the Parma ham tasting, the carbonara and the amberjack tartare. I wish we had more people with us so we could've tried more dishes.

Ristorante Bar del Fico is a charming cafe and bar located in a tucked-away piazza near Piazza Navona. The establishment draws in a mix of bohemians and locals with its shabby-chic interior and glass atrium. The name "Bar del Fico" is derived from the picturesque piazza outside, which is named after the fig tree that has stood there for generations.
Booked that place for a 50th birthday party with people from all places in the world and had the best time ever. Food, staff, DJ- supreme party time! Well done!

Probably our favourite meal while in Rome! Lovely service and delicious food and drinks. Thank you!

We had a really disappointing experience here. We ordered a cocktail that ended up being a bubble tea cocktail, something we were not told in advance, and it was nowhere written on the menu, as you can clearly see in the photo. When we asked the staff about it, instead of handling it professionally, they started bad mouthing us, calling us “dumb” and being extremely rude. On top of that, they still made us pay 30€ for it. The attitude of the staff was completely unacceptable. Unprofessional, disrespectful, and honestly just awful service. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Ps. We got the “cocktail” called panda

It's not often I review a place whilst still at the table. That poor was it I'm sorry but I have to. So... Ordered 4 burgers and chips - yes we are in rome but the family had a craving for junk food Wife sent hers back, honestly a good vet could have brought it back to life. To say it was still mooring. Other family members was the same but she didn't want to make a fuss. Two were cooked slightly pink but perfectly fin. Presentation. Was OK, chips came in a small mettle basket. All of it on an oversize plate making it feel even smaller. It wasn't but the look and style needed some work. Customer service. The meal was replaced but the comment it's cold and not cooked was greater with no it's just pink. Honestly the fact a new one came with no issues says it all. Chief must have been mortified. Trouble is that took 10mins for fresh food so the rest had finished before she got started :( And the chips were cold when it came back, think they reserved them... she didn't complain again just paid and left Location is great service was good but not polished for a high tourist area. In all honesty, was pulled here like a mother to a flame by a relative that is a suckered for how busy it is not how good it is. Much better eating establishments near by. Some with much better reviews was steered away from as they were not busy. Price was normal city prices. Over all was disappointing. Was talked in to giving it a two I would have went lower !!!

Stopped here for drinks. Looked like a nice place and ordered wine and drinks. Ordered pinot grigio, waiter brought unopened bottle of pinot Blanco which we declined and ordered alternative drinks. Waiter still charged us €34 for the wine. Didn't notice till the morning we had been overcharged. Really bad service considering we are on holiday, you should not have to check they are doing their job right. Never be back and would definitely not recommend.

We hosted our wedding celebration here and it was an amazing moment! The food and service was impeccable, the staff was great and very accommodating, the food and alcohol was fantastic and the party was great fun. We will remember this place forever!

Just don’t go here. Me and boyfriend had one bruschetta pomodoro each for aperitivo. And it was all we ate in the day, and gave us diarrhea. We ordered another appetizer too, but they forgot it. They also somehow forgot our drinks, we just ordered one glass of Chardonnay.
Katrina F — Google review
Unfortunately, it has become completely tourist-oriented by now. In my opinion, it has lost all of its original charm. Prices are noticeably higher than those of the surrounding bars and restaurants. The seating isn’t particularly inviting or well-arranged. The only positive note was the staff, who left a good impression.

Located in the heart of the Monti neighborhood at Piazza Madonna dei Monti, La Bottega del Caffè offers a relaxed setting with a terrace and late-night hours. The café serves a variety of classic dishes, cocktails, hot and cold drinks throughout the day. It is known for its beer on tap, selection of wines, Prosecco by the glass, and spritzes. Visitors can enjoy people-watching while savoring their meals or drinks.
Very cozy sat for dinner on the terrace. varied menu and everything was very tasty. Champagne available by the glass was certainly good. Very friendly and helpful service. Children also ate well. The carpaccio as a starter was delicious. Pasta and duck were also good in taste and desserts certainly do! Price quality fine, not expensive.

Absolutely terrible experience. We ordered the sandwich omelette and it was honestly the worst thing I’ve ever had in my life. The bread was old, dry, and practically inedible, t was so bad we couldn’t even finish it. Look at that poor piece of bacon in my plate 😂… Completely disappointing. The only remotely decent thing was the orange juice, and let’s be honest, it’s hard to mess that up. Would never come back. Avoid this place.
Pooria L — Google review
Welcoming place with much activity in the piazza to experience . It is like a ballet as the atmosphere changes all day long . The food is good and the owner pleasant and friendly . My favorite place for a morning cafe ,lunch, aperitivi or a light dinner .
Anthony L — Google review
In such a busy tourist area, it was nice to find a place slightly above the average. We stopped at La Bottega del Caffè for coffee, tea and tiramisu, and it was a pleasant break. The coffee was good, and the tiramisu was served in its traditional style — something surprisingly hard to find these days. The dessert was well balanced in flavor and definitely above the standard tourist-trap sweets. Overall, a good spot to sit down, relax and enjoy something sweet, especially if you’re on your way back from the Colosseum.

Probably our 'find' of the trip to Rome. We were looking for a nice bar to enjoy an al fresco drink (or more) and were warmly welcomed by the waiting staff, who duly found us seating outside. The drinks were of a high standard, the snacks served with the food lovely and the service was outstanding. So much so that we were remembered a couple of nights later when we returned with the waiter recalling our drinks order. The prices were maybe a little below average price for Rome and excellent. We will return, thank you

Tourist trap. We asked for omelette with tomatoes and onion they gave us omelette separate and tomatoes and onions separate. When I told them I needed the veggies inside the omelette cooked they cut those tomatoes and onions and just place it inside the omelette. If you can’t make a special request just say no. On that we got a comment saying this is not Indian restaurant. I also ordered a panini with cheese, instead of panini they gave us regular bread with mozzarella cheese. The cappuccino was served cold.

Nice typical Rome street restaurant. The service is fairly quick and the food was very good and freshly made. And english menus.

Food was decent, pretty forgettable honestly and I was disappointed to see the bread was some rock hard flatbread for some reason. but I did appreciate the location! It was a nice patio next to a fountain where a bunch of people were hanging out
