Nestled in a quaint, unmarked street near Piazza San Cosimato, Le Levain Roma is a hidden gem for those craving an authentic bakery experience in the heart of Rome. Founded by chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi, who honed his skills at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie in Lyon and trained with renowned chocolatier Jean-Philippe Darcis in Belgium, this artisanal patisserie beautifully marries French baking techniques with Southern Italian culinary traditions.
The olive bread has got to be one of the best/tastiest breads I’ve ever eaten - and I love bread! Soft, fluffy and crunchy in all the right places and filled with loads of nice olives.
Baked fresh on site this morning as was still warm when we picked it up. It’s more expensive than your usual breads at €5 for half/€10 for a whole loaf, but well worth it I think, delicious!
The pastries looked great too, so I’ll be coming back to try those another time!

It was really crowded and they have very few tables. But its all worth the wait, well prepared ans tastes so good. Only issue is that, for coffees its vending machine. Service was quick and the staff was really friendly.
Staff was super nice and spoke excellent English, service was great and it wasn’t noisy and we were able to take a seat inside. We ordered a cinnamon roll and a pain au chocolate. Both were amazing, and fairly cheap for their quality (both €1,80). To drink we had a water, which was nicely cooled, and a biologically pressed pear juice, which is definitely worth trying despite the price tag (€4,80). This place is worth going to!
Very tasty pastry and sandwiches. Perfect for a breakfast. Mini pizza were our favourites and croissants but everything we tried was just great. We ate here in every morning durring our stay in Trastevere. ❤️🩵🩷
French bakery in Rome. The place is not to big, but maybe just enough for the sitting area. The breads were delicious as we expect from French bakery.
Kouign Amann was really buttery and layered, enjoyed it a lot while eating it. Vegan sandwich was nice to but the bread was too rough for a “baguette”. Ambiance is nice but PACKED. Better to grab some coffee and pastry and walk around :)
Ps: surprised that they do not have espresso machine and let you grand from a coffee machine, was surprisingly tasty tho.
After glowing reviews of there quiche. I ordered both florantine and veggitable. Maybe vegetables are out of season this early in june but I received an egg and pea quiche. Not exactly bad just not the same veggie quiche that got the rave reviews! Very disappointed. I ordered many other things. They all look consistent with the photos mostly. Some were much smaller and some larger.
The pastries were beautiful, the croissant crema was a firm favourite among my group

Regoli Pasticceria is a century-old, family-owned bakery located in Esquilino Rome. The shop features arched ceilings and is renowned for its classic creme-based pastries and tarts. Locals flock to Regoli at all times of the day, particularly on weekends, to indulge in their mouth-watering pastries, with the maritozzo being a standout delicacy.
An oasis when I am waiting for my hotel manager in a super hot summer.
Their Cannolo Siciliano is superb. Its wrap is crispy. The cream is not too sweet. The cream also offers a bit crunchy texture as there are some chocolate chips scattered inside. The chopped pistachios are also fresh.
Their coffee fizz passion also offers a surprise in the way that it is refreshingly sour and sweet without compromising the flavour of coffee.
Their ice cappuccino caramello salato also strikes a good balance between coffee, milk and salted caramel.
I also tried their seafood spaghetti. Their seafood is very fresh. Their spaghetti is al dente but can be a bit soft. Their sauce is just fit. Not too salty.
After all, nice pastry and summer's special from this pastry cafe. Also a delightfully delicious lunch from this cafe.
The place is clean. The sunroom is spacious. The attendants are friendly and diligent.
A place I would visit again when I come to Rome next time.

This is truly the best maritozzo in Rome.
The bun is light, the cream has a lemon zest that balances everything beautifully, and the dessert isn’t overly sweet, which I see as a huge plus.
In addition, the wild berry pâtissier was excellent, and I also tasted the cake with vanilla cream and chocolate crisps — it was a real celebration.
If you also like Italian cream buns, then you absolutely cannot miss this bakery. In addition to being able to choose large or small cream buns, it also offers a variety of different styles of pastries made with cream and ordinary bread. In addition, the shop is actually composed of a main bakery and a coffee shop. If you only want cream buns, you can go directly to the coffee shop to place an order and buy the coffee you want. But if you want to take away or choose other styles of pastries, you can only buy them in the bakery first and then go to the coffee shop to choose your favorite coffee. In short, this is also a must-try bakery in Rome.
Stopped at Regoli Pasticceria to try the Maritozzi, and it was definitely worth the short wait in line. Service was quick and friendly, and the pastry was fresh, fluffy, and delicious.
There are plenty of other tempting options in the bakery too. Would definitely come back and recommend- so tasty!
Worth the visit. Great service. Delicious pastries. This spot was a 10min walk from my hotel and I stumbled into it one morning looking for a caffe. Ended up eating a cannoli and taking some pastries to go. The Sfogliatella was delicious, it had 2 different types of stuffing, the main being the traditional style semolina creamed mixture as well as a cannoli ricotta style. The ricotta style didn’t not have the same taste as you would except, it was creamer. Different from what I am use to but delicious!
This was my first time trying the famous marritozzo from Regoli, and it didn’t disappoint. The brioche bun was very airy and fluffy, with a slight lemon zest to it, which I enjoyed. The whipped cream was also very light and delicious, as it wasn’t too sweet. I wouldn’t go out of the way, if you’re only in Rome for a short visit, but do recommend if you’re nearby the establishment.
The fagottini di ricotta is (no exaggeration) the best pastry I’ve had in my life! Highly recommend that one, and the wild strawberry tart is very good too. The maritozzi and cannoli were just okay in my opinion, but they seem to be really popular.
Went here 2 days in a row, once at 8am and another at 10am. There was no queue at 8am but at 10am I had to wait around half an hour, so definitely try to go early.
Delicious and beautiful pastries, be prepared to wait in line and be ready to point if you don't know Italian. They were very helpful and kind to us even with a language barrier, the cream puff pastries were to die for, and the fruit tart was super fresh. Would certainly come back!!

Casa Manfredi is a renowned pastry shop with two locations near Piramide station in Rome. They are known for their delectable pastries and the best Pandoro during Christmas. The Aventine Hill location offers a blend of traditional and modern sweets influenced by Italian and French baking practices, along with high-quality coffee.
It’s a shame this place has such low rating. I only enjoyed a coffee and croissant there but have enjoyed their selections at home many times. Their pastries are exquisite! Their almond croissant is my fav. I’ve never had one that delicious. Their coffee is very good, serving Lavazza’s luxury brand. It can get crowded but that’s because they offer really good food. The service I think could use a little work but perhaps an extra hand and a smile. Other than that I will always say they are the best 🤌🏽🤌🏽

This bakery offers a fantastic selection of freshly baked breakfast options, all straight from the oven. However, the service was a bit slow, which is understandable given how crowded it was when we visited around 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday.
The best place to eat breakfast in Rome! The coffee was the best we ve ever had, very tasty. We also orders twist croissants which were amazing and a toast. All we ordered was absolutely amazing and very very tasty. We certainly recommend coming!

We have found this lovely place accidentally (as this was the only outlet open at 8 in the morning). However it turned out a fortunate choice as everything was amazing. The pastries were fresh and delicious, perfectly prepared crispy croissants filled with smooth creams. The coffee was also nice just like the server lady. They also sell cakes and savoury pastries, but we could not try it unfortunately. If you are in the area, it worth a stop:)

Good coffee and delicious treats. The freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Maritozzi, cornetti and the orange cake are definitely worth trying here.
The place has more modern vibe than some older cafes, so may not be as charming but the quality is high.

What an amazing experience. The restaurant was fully booked up but they opened up a back room for us and some other guests. We sat around an over sized table with a bar at the one end. Beautiful spot to have lunch. The gentleman took a seat at our table and went around taking each of our orders. He joked with our children and made us all feel welcomed. The food was outstanding! But the experience was even better. This place deserves far more recognition than it has. Best meal in Rome.
We visited Roscioli Caffè and tried a few of their stuffed maritozzi and they were absolutely delicious. Light, fluffy, and filled with rich, flavorful cream. Definitely worth the hype when it comes to pastries.
However, the service was quite slow, especially considering we only ordered pastries nothing from the kitchen. It took longer than expected to be served.
We were seated inside and the space felt a bit clustered, which made the experience less comfortable.
I’d recommend ordering takeout and enjoying it at a nearby piazza or park for a more pleasant experience.
One of the worst aperol spritz and Hugo spritz I have ever had, both with more prosecco just to fill the glass, completely removing the emblematic flavors of both these cocktails. The service absolutely terrible, the server came to serve the table next to us who got seated after us (big surprise it was the owners partner, now it makes sense) after serving us and slamming the drinks in my table I tasted the absolute worst spritz I have had. Terrible place would not recommend to anyone who is visiting or lives here.
Roma is swarming with all variety of tourists and many are rude/obnoxious. The key is to learn a little Italian and connect with the overworked staff like a human. Roma is a marvel, the entire city should be declared a World Heritage site. Where else can you walk amongst 2000 year old monuments to Democracy, Civilization and the Wonders of The Human Creative and Artistic
potential?? I tried to get into their Salumeria resto the night before—like most good spots during a massive swarm of tourists and Jubillee pilgrims—sold out. Undaunted I returned the next morning for un ristretto and got a table out front, sipping a perfect 3rd wave Cappucino XL, and enjoying a delicious panino. The swarm of tourists got to me, God bless the staff(!!) of course people from all over the world are hungry/tired and uncertain of how Roma caffe culture works but geesh. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see strict disciplinary measures enforced from Coloseo days(whips?)
I moved inside to the counter—that’s where the real fun is!! Learn some Italian and you’ll have the best time with the staff and what few Romans brave the tourists to get their place at the counter. It’s all about standing, mingling and chatting!! I’d go back to Roma tomorrow to repeat this day for an entire week. I showed him a specialty coffee article about best Roman caffes, and he proceeded to write down 5 more that he recommended!
I mentioned that I had tried and failed to get into the resto, and he blew me away with his 150% xtra hospitality!! He left his post, inquired down the street, and returned with a counter spot for me at 7 that night!!!! Alessandro(?) Grazie Mille-you’re a true gem.
I also needed to find a bike shop to fill my tires with air and the other adorable fellow zoomed in on his phone (my phone didn’t have wifi) and showed me the exact spot!!
This is a world class spot in the bustling Campo dei Fiori district. Well run, a legacy group, serving great caffe, and good pastries+panino. But as always, it’s the warmth of the staff that make it incredible.

As the reviews suggest, the restaurant is booked up most of the time. Roscioli caffe is the place to go if you’re looking to pick up and go. There aren’t any seats around as many places in Italy. However, you will enjoy of their wonderful one of a kind bread & pizza texture.
Absolute best! Everything tasted amazing.. best way to start your day! Macchiato and fresh maritozzo (this is a must try here!) with a few more viennoiseries (apricot Cornetti, cannoli, fruit custard biscotti)

Quiet back street, in a quiet neighborhood, delicious bakery. We came for breakfast and plan to return often!
We came based on a recommendation of our tour guide from our visit to the Vatican. She said she and her husband come often. We can see why. Very friendly. The waiter explained the menu for us. The wine they suggested was outstanding as was the food. We are sending this place to all of our friends planning a visit.

Also was good but the first day! I get hungry thinking about it!

Had the one with Rabbit and Potatos, did not pleased our palate while we tried the ham and cheese and it was the best flavour we tried in shop.

I can’t hype this place up enough, what a gem! By far the best pastries, especially maritozzo that we had in Rome. I also want to say how kind the staff were. They explained all of the pastries to us. They truly went above and beyond. We had been practicing Italian for our trip and they let us try and even gave us so pointers on how to improve. I felt so happy! Incredible meal and incredible people. I don’t know what more you could want. They have some standing room outside for you to enjoy your pastries.

Best pizza we had in two weeks in Italy — even compared to Naples! There are tons of options to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious. The pastries are great too. I just wish we had known there were tables available at their new location next door — we ate standing at an improvised counter and only found out about the seating afterward. It does get crowded, so be prepared to wait a bit. The staff is fine — just very busy and focused on helping customers quickly. Still, totally worth it for the pizza!

Dolce Maniera is a cake shop with a long history in Rome. It's popular amongst Roman students and is always busy after nights out. They have a wide variety of different pastries, cakes, sweets and croissants, and the staff are friendly and average priced. The quality of the cannoli can definitely recommend this shop!
This bakery has quite a few things going for it. Taste, price, friendliness, and options. I just happened upon it when walking towards the metro station. I was so glad I did.
$.80 for a croissant with chocolate is a bargain. And a cappuccino will only set you back $1.40. Those are not typically prices you find in a Roman bakery.
The chocolate chip ball was something my family went back for more of. The croissant with Nutella is loaded with Nutella And my personal favorite was the strawberry cake. A light fluffy strawberry cream sandwiched in between two layers of cake.
And then the staff is super friendly. The second time I went in, one of the workers literally said to me, “you can ask me about any of the things we have for sale.”

This is still an amazing place. We purchased desserts from here two years ago and had to go again this year. We were initially confused about the location but found out that they had moved. All of the desserts we purchased on two different days were all good. If we come back to Rome again we will come back.

We were truly blessed to be staying so close to this place. We had breakfast every morning and were always greeted with a friendly good morning by the amazing ladies in the shop. It was a big group of us but they were always attentive to our order and had an amazing selection to pick from.
A vast selection of incredible Italian pastries, all at a very reasonable price. An authentic pasticceria run by locals, highly recommended.

Pasticceria Linari is a beloved neighborhood spot in the Testaccio district of Rome, serving up delicious cakes, pastries, pizza, and sandwiches since 1971. This all-day cafe is known for its homemade cornetti and cakes, drawing crowds in the mornings but offering a quieter atmosphere in the afternoons. Run by sisters Simona and Lenora, this family-owned establishment has been committed to quality and friendly service for nearly 50 years.
One of the BEST pastry places I’ve ever been to! The prices are very good compared to the center of Rome. Matozzo pastry is 2,5€, other little pastries vary from 1,5€-3€. The coffee was also very good! They also have pizza and other salty goods. They work shorter on monday, check the working hours before going.

We came here almost every day during our week-long vacation in Rome. The staff were welcoming, friendly, professional, and attentive. The pastries were excellent! The cappuccino could be better — the milk froth wasn’t among the best I’ve had.
This little pastry/breakfast/ coffee shop was recommended to us by our Airbnb host, Veruska for breakfast. And she could not have been more accurate for a great place to eat. We started our days at this quaint little spot with cappuccinos or lattes, and even the occasional Americano. I don’t even know what we had for breakfast most days, but it was usually some type of a pastry, filled with meat and cheese, and it was always a wonderful breakfast. Not a traditional North American breakfast to be sure, but we loved it. We also stopped in for some pastries, such as cannolis, and even the pastry filled “hotdog” were fantastic for a quick bite while walking around the Testaccio neighborhood we stayed in during our stay in Rome.
It took us very little time to figure out how to order and pay, but basically we just followed the locals and how they did things. Sometimes finding a spot to sit would be challenging but a couple mornings we would just walk over to nearby Piazza Testaccio and enjoyed our breakfast sitting on a park bench.

Loved this local bakery! It has an incredible variety of pastries and other delights, and it's so fun to see the hustle and bustle of daily Italian life in the morning, with people rushing in for their espresso and croissants.
Stopped into Linari for an espresso and maritozzo at the bar. The coffee was smooth, and the maritozzo was fresh and light, classic Roman start to the day. Solid local spot with a nice buzz.

It was a great breakfast experience!
I got to eat two bombs as they are called one with chocolate and the other with lemon cream. They also had some great juices with pear and peach. They also had orange flavour but we didn’t try it. When we left they also gave us a treat which really made the experience better! Finally, they had a corner shop for an NGO that had some beautiful items for very affordable prices, I got the beautiful bear pin that was only 2,5€ and put it on my hat ! Overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone !

Location has ample parking near the train tracks and if you are traveling with children, there even happens to be a nice little park around the side of the building. We were so pleased to find this out as we are traveling with our three-year-old daughter and a post-lunch park playdate is exactly what she needed!
Delicious! And 100% vegan and organic. The pastries are fantastic - try the bombolone - and the coconut cake was 🔥. The only challenge is the location. You’ll need to take the metro to get here. But it’s SO worth making the trip. The staff are wonderful, and the place is nice and quaint.

I made a special trip to this location during my brief time in Rome after my Umbria visit, before heading to the airport. Despite checking Google Maps, Happy Cow, Apple Maps, and the business's website, there was no indication of a temporary closure. I wasn't able to sample their food, and the absence of communication alone justifies a 1* rating. Furthermore, the business's unreasonable response adds to my disappointment. It's unrealistic to expect a higher rating under these circumstances.
It was a little out of the way from the main city, but took an extra bus to get here and had a delicious chocolate croissant and Smoothie for breakfast one day. They had so many baked goods and loved that everything was vegan! The owners/staff were so kind and appreciative of us visiting. I wish I didnt get so full to have room for more! Definitely recommend making a stop for specialty vegan baked goods you can't really find anywhere else!
We went out for Breakfast at Wani's. We found it online through Google maps and really liked the photos. The Backed goods where really great in taste and look. The service was good, but could be improved so is the coffee. For me it wasn't hot enough but that's personal opinion. Everything looked awesome but we chose "Cornetto alla crema" and "Maritozzo".
We came all the way here to find a decent vegan cappuccino cornetto in Rome. The place is very small with uncomfortable seating, loud music and had an extremely bad smell of cleaning supplies, which made me leave after five minutes. We had to clean the table ourselves since the service seemed uninterested in actually serving us. cappuccino was terrible (like cleaning water). The prices were completely out of proportion. The bomba with cream was nice though, so that's the second star.

The banana pancakes were simply divine—fluffy, perfectly sweetened, and generously topped with fresh bananas between each stack. Each bite was like a little piece of heaven!
To complement the meal, I ordered a cappuccino that was the epitome of balance. The blend of rich espresso with smooth, creamy milk was just right, not too strong or too mild. It was truly one of the best cappuccinos I’ve had in a long time.
On top of the delicious food and drinks, the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or just a coffee break, this is a must-visit!
Side note, they also have scrambled eggs and omelettes which is a challenging find.

I’ve only recently started reviewing restaurants and I’ve had the privilege of eating at excellent places in many countries and all over the USA. The staff was friendly, the pastries are excellent, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. I’ve been here 3 times and decided to have a burger. It’s one of the best I’ve had. Antonio was the most gracious and attentive waiter who went the extra mile for our dining experience. The best table bread ever...excellent steak and hand-made pasta.
I wanted to eat at another restaurant, and a waiter named Antonio stopped my husband and told us to eat here. I was hesitant because of the rating this restaurant. However, I am glad we did.
The hamburger is their specialty and they are great! I had the bacon cheese burger and it was delicious. Our waiter spoke English and was super helpful. It was near our hotel and glad we chose it.
My family just ate here for dinner and had a fabulous experience. We were greeted at the entrance, sat immediately with friendly service, and the food was delicious. We ordered the caprese, a vegan burger, salmon burger, mozzarella omelet, and a strawberry granita for dessert, plus a couple cocktails. A wonderful and delicious reprieve from many days of pasta and pizza. Our server also brought an extra little dessert on the house. In response to negative reviews below, I checked our bill against the quoted prices in the menu, and the total checked out. The only difference was that we were asked by the server to tip 20%, not the norm in Italy. I chalked this up to an “American tax” thanks to my husband speaking in English. We could have declined to tip, but I didn’t want to end an otherwise completely pleasant experience in awkwardness. The choice is yours.
We went there to get a burger(which we were told was very good), as we arrived a waiter sat us and insisted on that he would give us the best, we really didn’t get to order what we wanted…a basic hamburger. I had a beer and my wife had a coke, we also had a bottle of water. After a while, we got a huge hamburger with a salmon patty ,onions,bacon,etc.. We separated the salmon patty and bacon from the sandwich. I ate all my burger and a bite from the salmon patty, my wife ate 1/2 of her burger. The fries were chips that looked like French fries. When we got our bill it was 77euro the waiter then ask for a tip…I told him to add 4 euro(which was stupid on my part), especially after noting that no other waiters in Rome ask for a tip.
In short, we got HAD. My fault…this was a rip-off. Never again while in Rome.

We clearly showed them our green pass on our phones but just because our QR codes dont work here at Rome, had us sitting outside in the freezing cold weather. The atmosphere is lively. So if you sit close to the counter it will be loud and not very relaxing. But there are seats in the back that are much better and I would recommend those.
Nice & clean shop with decent food. We got the flan and pain au chocolate. The Flan was so good! I purchased it thinking it was a cheesecake 😂 and ended up trying a flan for the first time! Pleasant surprise.
Very cute cafe. The food was delicious. They have good breakfast options and a lot of little sweets. The coffee is amazing! When we were there, they had an Iced Strawberry Latte, which I think was a special for that month. Highly recommend it if they still have it. They also roast their own coffee.

My iced latte was the best I have ever had, as someone who usually gets them with a flavor in the U.S., this one tasted amazing without any syrups or sugar added. They also had oat milk which was great! I was also blown away by how delicious the tomato toast was, at first I was skeptical but felt like trying something new and I was not disappointed! The basil oil/pesto spread at the bottom and drizzled on top complimented the cherry tomatoes so well, I would highly recommend!
This is our favorite brunch and bakery in Rome! We love the savory pancakes and any seasonal toast they have. Their baked goods change around 3 times a day, so you will always find either delightful croissants, cakes, pizzas, literally anything!

Smoke and mirrors! Saturday morning, you want a nice coffee and a pastry while reading a book or looking at your portable laptop (certainly not for hours). Well, if you come to this place, after having paid 10€ for one coffee one soy cappuccino and a pastry (trust me there are millions of places where you can get equally good or better coffee/cornetti at half the price) you can't do that. The waiter -instructed by the owner- came to inform us that due to the "bar policy" I couldn't open my portable tablet. This has never happened in my life before, but surely it will be the first and last time I visit such an overrated, expensive and nonsense place.
€6.5 for a matcha latte.. that’s the most expensive matcha I’ve had in Europe. Matcha it self was decent.. the place and staff were lovely! Rating only reflecting the price!
Nice place, high prices - food was good but the quantity didnt justify the price. The place was empty when we asked really kindly to use our laptop really quick but the staff didnt allow us saying the rule is you cant occupy the table during the weekend which was a bit strange given that the place was empty at 1 pm.
We stayed for a few days in Rome. We found this café near our B&B. The staff that works there is so nice and speaks English which can be very convenient. The food is delicious.

This place was a highlight of Rome. It offers an American breakfast with a nostalgic touch, but it's more than that. Every dish has great seasoning, fresh market ingredients, and well-composed flavors. We loved the Turkish eggs, babka French toast, and the omelette. The pancakes were okay but a bit dry and too firm, so I wouldn't recommend them.
The coffee is excellent and the food is delicious! The service is nice but it gets very busy so inevitably it gets slow. Worth the wait though—they usually move pretty quick and you can also order coffee while you wait to get seated which is super nice.

Overall: 100% worth the extra 10 minute bike ride down from the center of Rome
My one suggestion for improvement to management would be: when there’s a line of customers waiting to pay, please stop making small talk with every person at the front!
Loved it. Table water goes a long way. Service was also polite and perfectly attentive. The view into the kitchen is intriguing and although the space is bare its relaxing and nice to sit in. The cabinet items all look good enough to add on after a full breakfast order. My experience of which was only good, variety on the menu and a reasonable portion size for the price point. Coffee tasted of single origin - fruity (but could be wrong).

Beautiful place, but disappointing experience
Tulipane is such a lovely spot — beautiful interiors, delicious food, and a concept I genuinely want to support. I really appreciate small businesses, especially in Rome, and I was excited to visit again. However, I didn’t quite understand the attitude of having so few pastries in the morning and not baking more. Not only I, but several other people came in looking for pastries, and they were almost gone already… such a pity, because it’s still Rome — everyone wants their cornetto for breakfast!
Also, some of the staff were surprisingly arrogant and not very welcoming, which really took away from the experience. It’s a bit strange too that they don’t offer decaf coffee, even though they say they specialize in high-quality coffee.
I truly hope they improve, because the place itself has great potential.

It is crazy this place has such low reviews, and it is only because of people who were grumpy that they didn't manage to grab a pastry! Gather yourself, roll out of bed early, and head over. We got there at 8:15, and had the whole assortment available.

Bompiani Ristorante Pizzeria is a renowned establishment located in the Ardeatino neighborhood, near Eur. We'd just been to the nearby catacombs and were looking for somewhere for lunch. We got a brilliant welcome. The food was amazing. Six of us, three courses each, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Completely recommend this lovely place.

Dropped in spontaneously while waiting for the catacombs to open for the afternoon, and were surprised to have one of the best meals of our trip (and we had already had some great ones). The polpette in cacio e Pepe was a revelation, and the fried anchovies with citrus mayonnaise were great, too. Our waiter (who my have been the owner) was warm and friendly. The dining room is bright and cheerful.
We had lunch and dinner on the same day. Host Simon was jovial and helped us make the choices. All we had was delicious. Desserts Tiramisu and Cheesecake were the highlights.
Food was exceptionally great with reasonably priced. Pizzas are yum! Ragu Fettuccine was a good choice for our son. We loved the way Simone (who is at the front) greeted us and added a touch of home. He is very thoughtful and attentive!!

From the beginning, millions of thanks to the chef. He made a super clam pasta. For the service I think my experience was not that much pleasant. First, I waited for more than 15 min before I stepped inside the restaurant and called someone to take my order. Then, they forgot to add the pasta and they added it later adding more wait time. They also didn't serve compimentary bread and olive oil. I would come back for the food taste and would give them my immediate comment if they provide poor service.

The 55-year-old establishment proudly dubs itself "il Regno del Tiramisu" (the kingdom of tiramisu), and it lives up to this title with its exquisite rendition of the classic dessert.
Outstanding Tiramisu both here and the venue near the Spanish steps. The best in Rome for Classico. No questions. Soft and well coffee'd sponge with creamy layers above and the bonus crunch of chunks of chocolates sprinkled on top as you leave. What more could you want from a pudding!
The ice-cream is also fabulous too.

We tried 4 items: Tiramisu Classique, Mont Blanc, Cannoli, and café crema.
1. Tiramisu was good, classic.
2. Mont Blanc was the worst I've had in this life time. This should not be sold, it is disgraceful how bad it was.
3. Cannoli was not good. The filling flavor was off and it was poorly filled. Only the ends had ricotta, the entire center was empty.
4. The café crema was too sweet, not enjoyable.
In the 14 days I've been in Italy, I've been in Venice, Florence, Chianti, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Rome. This place was the worst and the only place I felt like my money was wasted. Do not go here.
We come here with friends sometimes, mostly for the tiramisu.
Even though you can find better tiramisu in Rome, this location has a nice atmosphere and it’s a good place to sit. The classic tiramisu is good enough and well-balanced.
We also tried the gelato once, but it felt too touristy and colorful, not really my taste.
Service is average. They ask for payment at the table before the dessert arrives.
We ordered tea with it, which went really well.
Parking is a big problem around here, since it’s close to Re di Roma square and the area is always busy.

Some staff are nice but the rest are not..typical italian customer service. Luckily their tiramisu is above good, otherwise nothing special here. The ambience is okay.
The tiramisu is refreshing and fluffy, croissants are one of the best I've had. The waiters are nice and welcoming, one of them even saved our water bottle when we forgot it so he could give it back to us tomorrow. They are patient and supportive if you try and practice speaking italian with them, especially the guys that work behind the bar!

I personally think their iced espresso is a must-try. It has a rich flavor, and paired with the cool shaved ice and cream, it is definitely a brand new coffee experience in terms of both taste and flavor! They have a huge menu with lots of coffee options, and surprisingly, the prices were very reasonable—especially given the central location.
If you’re near the Pantheon and love coffee, this place is a must-visit. Great quality, quick service, and a true Roman coffee experience.
We heard good things about the baking 🥐here so we made sure to drop in. We tried the cannoli with the ricotta cheese filling. It was mildly sweet, not too rich, and absolutely delicious. We tried the Sfogliatella which was good, but a little heavy for my taste. The doughnut, danish, and crossiants were also delicious here. The pastries were flaky, crisp, and are definitely the best we had in Rome. The staff at the desk are not overly friendly, but I went there for the pastries not service, so I was not bothered. You place your order at the register here (it was not too straightforward). I could not recommend this bakery enough, I wish we had one like this at home 🇨🇦

We wanted a solid, good quality Italian cup of coffee and did not want to overpay. This is the place - the coffee quality is excellent we did not want to pay an extra euro for each cup to sit down so we drank it in the proper Italian style at the bar, the place is old and quite unique and the coffee is really really good. An excellent, thin crust, take-away pizza!! We shared the red pizza and the Margherita. Fresh, quality ingredients, and crispy crust! And I loved that you could watch the pizzas being made as you ordered.
My only complaint is that we had to eat the pizza at an Irish pub nearby because the pizza place was take-away only.
I had the mortadella focaccia and the bread tasted fresh. The flavors were extremely simple, with a focus on the freshness of the ingredients. I also had their ragu suppli and it was the highlight for me. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside!
One of my favourite panini spots in the city! Always the freshest, tastiest ingredients and the bread is always perfectly crisp and doused in high quality olive oil.
Highly recommend the simple mortadella panino and any of the vegetarian options but especially the one with zucchini, tomatoes and grated provolone. Sweet, ripe tomatoes are such a treat when in Italy.
Definitely get your panini to take away and sit on the edge of the nearby fountain in the piazza to enjoy them in the sun.

We had an Airbnb nearby in our stay in Rome, so we decided to check out Antico Forno Roscioli around 10 AM after finding good Google reviews on it. Thankfully, there was no line when we arrived, and we were able to walk right in. The place has a reputation for being busy, but going in the morning seemed to help us avoid the crowds. The staff was welcoming and efficient, and the atmosphere felt both lively and local.
While most people come for the pizza, we were surprised by the variety beyond that. The counter was full of fresh breads, pastries, and other baked goods that looked just as tempting. It’s easy to get carried away if you’re hungry, especially since everything is sold by weight and beautifully displayed. Even so, prices were reasonable, and it was a fun way to sample a bit of everything.
The staff made the process easy, offering English descriptions and helping us navigate the options without feeling rushed. Whether you’re grabbing a few slices or just picking up fresh bread or a sweet pastry, it’s worth stopping in—especially if you’re staying nearby and can beat the crowds.

There’s a reason there’s so much hype around Roscioli. The bakery is superb. It feels like most people come for the pizza (it was delicious) but the breads and pastries all looked delicious too. One of the culinary highlights of our trip to Rome. If you walk past and there’s a queue, join it. You’ll be queuing for 5 mins at most and it’s inevitably much better than many other places in Rome
The sweet is better than savoury. Not sure why I haven’t seen many people talk about the sweet pastries.
The fig tart was really good. The custard wasn't overly sweet and it paired well with the base. The base biscuit was very soft and crumbly, more like a soft cookie rather than a typical hard tart base. The ventaglio was also quite good, it was a pastry version of the butterfly cookie and not too sweet either.
The chilli pizza slice was good, the olive oil on it was quite good, not too oily or heavy. But nothing super special. The ham sandwich with lettuce was eh. The lettuce on it tasted weird.
Honestly truly worth the hype and queue outside. Excellent pizza al taglio with a variety of toppings and pizza bianca made to order. The base is nicely crisp with a pillowy dough, all fresh produce and Roscioli-made ingredients. Pizza Burrata is essential and Pizza Bianca con Mortadella is also excellent (very high quality deli meats). Go before lunch rush (12 pm) to beat the queue, but it moves fairly quickly anyway. Service is understandably curt because of how busy it gets, just know what you want and order right away.
Definitely worth the stop!! This is the cutest, most authentic feeling little Italian bakery/deli/pizza spot. It's very small inside with a whole lot of people trying to place orders. Kind of chaotic. Outside there r a couple tables against the building with a few chairs. Definitely not a lot of seating, but it's possible. Pastries & fresh breads look delicious and barely out of the oven, but we didn't try those. Did get a few different salami sliced up for snacking later & those were wonderful. Also got some pizza slices, which they warmed & we ate outside. Like most other quick pizza spots, they cut a portion off the large pizza and then after warming it slice it into smaller pieces. This places cuts very large pieces so if ur not super hungry or want to try a few types, might want to ask for a smaller portion. This shop was also more expensive than others, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and flavor of it. Also, Roscioli has a coffee shop down the street so make sure you go to the correct location.
As every time I’m in Rome, I headed to Roscioli for lunch to grab some pizzas.
The place has no seating area inside but there’s a nearby park where I always sit to enjoy my food, so that’s not an issue.
Roscioli offers both sweets and savoury dishes, and their highlight is pizza, which comes in different shapes and flavours.
Prices are ok, not cheap but not overly pricey. With 16 euros I was insanely stuffed.

My expectations were high and it didn't disappoint at all! Great cappuccino, the panini's are delicious and we are going back today.

For €15 we got freshly squeezed orange juice, a hot drink, and a great amount of food. It's definitely worth coming here for a brilliant brunch/breakfast.
The only downside was we didn't receive any butter on our toast, and they didn't ask how we wanted our eggs (they arrived scrambled despite the picture being fried).

This is a very stylish French bakery, bistro, café, restaurant, and bar all in one. We first came in for breakfast and enjoyed a great Americano and cappuccino, along with two delicious croissants. I even walked out with a baguette panini filled with salami and pickles to go for lunch. The bar had a great atmosphere, and later in the day—just after 5 o’clock—we returned for glasses of very delicious Pinot Noir. The bartender brought us fresh bread with olives, baked in, to nibble on. Excellent service, excellent atmosphere, excellent place. Delicious. Highly recommended.

I have paid 10€ for 1 pancake, 3 3 dollops of whipped cream and 3 strawberries cutted in pieces and thrown on the pancake. Also the food itself was absolutely disgusting. After we ate it, we waited for 2 hours for someone to come to our table and take empty plates. Unfortunately no one came so we just sat there with those dirty plates. Also the restaurant charges extra 1.5€ per person for the service, which is an absolute joke if we assume every aspect of it.

Pathetic Service, Rude Staff, and Overt Racism
One of the worst service experiences I’ve had in a long time. The main staff were cold, smug, and passive-aggressive we felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in. A few waiters were fine, but the overall attitude was hostile.
The Americano I ordered tasted like leftover rinse water from the espresso machine. Only after ordering a second one did I get a normal cup of coffee so that definitely felt intentional. Pastries looked decent but were okay.
We were quiet, respectful, and did nothing to warrant the dismissive treatment — but we were clearly treated differently from others around us. The racism and smugness was not subtle.

I stumbled upon this place by chance while strolling through the neighborhood. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the inviting aroma of fresh coffee and pizza – giving that classic Italian feeling. Here, pizzas are offered by weight, allowing you to choose the exact amount you desire. They were exceptionally tasty, offered a wide variety, and were very reasonably priced. In addition to the savory options, there is also a rich display of sweet temptations, perfect for a pleasant afternoon break or dessert.

The pizza variety is plenty for you to choose from and they sell by weight! Select from the variety on display and they will ask you how large a slice you want!! Love this selling concept. I simply order the portion I want! No over eating or wastage.
Same for the cakes which is also sold by weight. I came back to this place the following day for lunch to try out their pasta and variety of cooked dishes but the queue was too long for me to wait! I suggest to visit during off peak hours to receive the best service and not queue for a long time.

Absolutely sumptuous pizza. We found this spot the last time we were in Rome and made it our hang out during the trip. This visit, we stayed across the river, but still made the trip (a 45 minute walk in the heat) for this pizza. That’s how you know I’m serious about it. I wouldn’t even say that I like pizza, but this one…oh, she’s juicy. Ask the person at the counter to use their special pizza scissors to cut you a piece as big as you want, grab an espresso, and roll a ciggy (it’s Europe, yolo). Live your best life. Also grab a sweet treat while you’re there. You won’t be sorry!
Ignore all the negative reviews . The stuff is just sometimes under pressure with too many customers coming in, but they handling it as correctly as they can. Patience is a rewarding virtue. The bakery is awesome with fresh products produced in daily basis with a vast variety of choices in both salty and sweet snacks and plates.

"I Dolci di Nonna Vincenza" is a family-run bakery in Rome that offers an authentic taste of Sicily. The bakery imports homegrown nuts and ingredients directly from Sicily, such as almonds and pistachios, to create their delicious treats. One must-try item is the Olivette di Sant Agata made with almonds, while those craving intense pistachio flavors can opt for the simple dry cake made with flour, eggs, honey, and pistachios.
A lovely place. A must if you wanna have some Sicilian pastries in Rome. I had a small cannolo with ricotta and a cake stuffed ricotta and powdered with a bit cinnamon. The flavors were very decadent and well balanced. The ricotta was delicate, not too sweet and the crust was crunchy and not too oily.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They prices are a bit pricy but totally worth it!

There is something not quite right about the pistachio cannolo. The pastry that encases the filling curves in quickly from the middle, clearly too little pastry relative to the amount of filling, and the filling was very underwhelming - not quite sure how best to describe it but it was thin and not as creamy as past cannoli I’ve had - like very diluted ricotta cheese filling. It was also evident when some filling got onto the paper, you can see how translucent it is. True cannolo filling will be thick, and creamy, not translucent. Regretted getting the large one. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t come back again. But if you really want a cannolo in Rome, perhaps best to get a small one to sample first.
We discovered this lovely little café near our hotel in Rome, and it quickly became our go-to breakfast spot every morning. The ricotta-filled cornetto was absolutely incredible. I still think about it and can’t wait to have it again on my next visit! We also enjoyed their cannoli and coffee, which were both really good. A good try, they're most known for their cannoli, so we were set on ordering it. I never had a cannoli, so I was glad to give them a try here. They have a limited seating area but I was able to snag a free table.
We got three small cannolis to share: ricotta, limone, and pistachio. We enjoyed the limone the most, followed by the ricotta.
Overall, we enjoyed the cannolis here, glad I was able to get a table so that we can rest for a bit as we enjoyed the sweets.

Whenever in Rome I always come to this little pastry shop, as I love cannoli and they have several sweets which are worth trying.
You order at the counter, pay, and then you can sit in one of the two rooms they have. The place is not crowded with tables, so you can relax for a bit without being bothered.
Their coffee is ok, while the cannolis were delicious. I had two small ones, one with orange and the other one with lemon cream. Crispy, tangy and with much filling.
Staff were very friendly and pleasant, prices quite honest.

Ordered the almond, pistachio, chocolate and hazelnut scoop of ice cream. All vegan, all tasted amazing. It’s really refreshing to see no artificial flavourings and colourings. These colours are normal, but the flavours were REAL, it is what you want from an ice cream. Definitely one of the best ice cream spots in Italy.
I also ordered a coconut/pineapple/date shake too. Really refreshing.
We visited Grezzo Raw Chocolate and tried their ice cream and a hazelnut dessert called “Emblema.”
The ice cream was really nice, smooth and rich in flavour. On the other hand, the hazelnut dessert was a bit too intense for me. The hazelnut taste was very strong, and after a few bites, it became overwhelming.
Still, it's a good spot if you enjoy vegan, raw, rich desserts and want to try something different.
Grezzo was such a nice little shop! My husband and I both had the mandorla con café (with their own espresso in the flavor). It was incredible, so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. The woman working was so helpful when it came to picking out truffles to take with us. The chocolate was rich, decadent and the perfect amount of sweetness. We only wish we discovered this place before our last day in Rome. 1000/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet ice cream shop in a beautiful Piazza.

Best place in Rome for sweets, the viennoiseries were so good! Maritozzo of course is good, even if it’s just a stuffed chantilly brioche. And the sfogliattella was so crunchy and tasty. I recommend going here, even if it’s not city center, it’s so worth it and the people are very nice. Almost did a detour to come back but we were so late for our train haha

We had a breakfast voucher given in the apartment where we stayed in. We were very happy because of the good reviews we read about it. Let me tell you, the experience was SHOCKING. I dont think I have ever met such rude staff in my life. When I went in I said “hello”, no one even bat an eye. When we ordered our coffees they asked us 4 times what was the order. (It was an Espresso and an Americano- not rocket science). They did not even communicate with us at all, tell us what to choose from. We had two completely dried out croissants and they said we only can have a ham and cheese sandwich. So arrogant. I mean, I get it, vouchers, not the tourists who will spend ACTUAL MONEY there, but come on. I wanted to give a tip (like I do everywhere) but in the end I just put it back in my wallet. Shame on all of them! It was so bad that we never went back again (we had vouchers for the whole week). There are things I dont want even if they are free. It is one of them.
Real italian restaurant! We were lucky to have friends from Rome who took us to this restaurant. Service was amazing, funny but profesional waiters. Clean restaurant. Food was delicious! We ate few apetisers (all of them were great) such as grilled articoches, eggplant caponata, sea food mix, and some fresh salad made of some kind of root with anchovies. For main course we had ravioli stugmffed with spinach with truffles, pasta in red sauce with sea food, bacalar with veggies and sea food salad. Everything was mind blowing! RProseco and wine was also amazing! I would recomend this restaurant to everybody for sure! :)

This was my first time there. I wanted to know what a cheesecake tastes like. So I had a Lotus Cheesecake and I really liked it. It was creamy with a crunchy biscuit on top of it (I'm a great fan of cakes by the way). The bar lady is very gentle too. I would try something new some day.
We had to walk an hour to get there and it was totally worth it. The chocolate cake was soooooo fudgy & the staff was nice as well. Definitely a must for all vegans visiting Rome!

This is a must visit place in Rome ahead with the Colosseum and the Pantheon etc. Located a bit far from the center (1hour away walking) with most likely one of the best service you will encounter in Rome despite not all of the staff are speaking fluently english. About the sweets, coffee, sandwiches(afternoon), croissants(in the morning) they are like peaces of heaven which you can taste. I totally reccomend this on your visit of Rome.

I ended up here by accident and initially stopped here only to have a pastry but after trying the first one I ordered two more, one spritz and with it came a few more savory pastries (offered by the owner). Everything here is fresh, well researched and thought. The combinations of different ingredients and the design created are unique. A very nice surprise - highly recommended!

It's actually a nice bar perfect for lunch. They have great selection of pizzas and different types of food, you can basically just point them what you want. Before the bar there is a road leading to the parking lot behind, but there is plenty of parking space around. Food is tasty and seems to be on healthy side, with plenty of veggies. You can mix whatever and prices are not that bad either. We've been eating there a lot, and you can expect some different dishes every now and then.

So surprised this caffe had SO many vegan pastries!! I tried their plain croissant and the jam one another time for breakfast. Delicious, great price and delicious coffee. Has outdoor terrace that gets quite busy most of the time. Lots of locals stop by for their morning espresso and quick pastry to go. Great atmosphere, very authentic and friendly staff.
They had very nice gelato. The lemon was absolutely amazing as well as the dark chocolate. The area is also very nice and cozy. The staff were very welcoming.

One of my favorite cafes ever!
This place is so much better than any overpriced cafes in the center. The coffee is perfect, their pastries are incredible and the staff are incredibly friendly—even though I don’t speak Italian, I felt completely welcomed. The food is fresh and delicious; my sister said their croissant is the best she’s ever had! My whole family adores this cafe and always asks to go there whenever they visit me. The decor is super cute, and their cakes look amazing—definitely need to try them for my birthday!

We have been to this cafe several times and have been disappointed each time. The first time the sandwiches weren't great but they did the trick. The drinks are served in tiny glasses and aren't worth the price, even though they can be very good. However, if you are thirsty and ask them very nicely to refill your water bottle before leaving for a long journey after consume, they will say no. Hello kindness... we will not be returning to this cafe.

Went for breakfast around 7:15am and had a cappuccino and a croissant—both were very good. The place was quiet, clean, and peaceful. No outdoor seating but three small tables for four. My card got declined, but the woman working there was incredibly kind and told me I could come back later to pay. Really appreciated the friendly attitude and trust. Spent only €2.80. This small caffe is literally the best thing anyone can ask for after a long walk around Rome. The owner, I’m assuming she is the owner, was so nice. She was smiling the whole time I was speaking in my non existent Italian. She grilled our two paninis and brought it out, each only costing 3.5 euros. So affordable and so so good! Thank you!

Giano Restaurant, located inside the W Rome, offers a glamorous and atmospheric dining experience with opulent decor featuring velvet couches, low lighting, and wooden walls. The restaurant also boasts a solid cocktail list with creative names like 'wake up call' and 'working hard.' Additionally, Giano is known for its high-quality panettone made for Christmas.
We had a lovely dinner here, thanks to the great service by Alfons and Christian. Christian really showcased his skills as a Sommelier and we were treated to a fantastic wine pairing for our dinner. Alfons was knowledgeable in the menu offerings and gave us a very personable service. He even brought us around the ground level of the restaurant/hotel for a quick tour. It’s so rare to see a service staff so invested and genuine, so our experience was amazing thanks to him.
The food was more Sicilian style and interesting but probably not as traditional as we had expected. Nevertheless, the atmosphere from the lovely courtyard paired with the service rendered made this experience one to remember.

Located in the W hotel with a chic and buzzy vibe, this restaurant highlights Sicilian cuisine which is heavy on the seafood. We got the tubetti pasta (split between two), the fennel side dish, and the bluefin tuna belly, the nerodi pork. All were very delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. We didn’t have room for dessert but the presentation of the desert menu was cute. Ended with some house desserts. This is our second time and we very much enjoyed it.
A really good meal. The mackerel, beef and mille fueille were all amazing and the sardines and prawn pasta were ok. Wine selection is limited, but good, and the service is a little hit and miss. One dish ordered was not available and another dish needed to be redone in order to be palatable. Having said that, we had a great time.
Great atmosphere it was a really nice dinner with good food (the whole party enjoyed their meals) and the best part is the dessert and the ending with some granita.
Also their home made focaccia and bread stick are to die for!

Pork was amazing. Definitely pricey but not your average hotel dining for sure. The garden seating is perfect in the evening as well. After a long day traveling it was nice to have something at the hotel that was above average.

We stayed 3 nights at this outstanding location just a few steps away from the Vaticano. The bus- and metro stations are just a few minutes from the apartment. The apartment is in the 3rd floor and very comfortable, the bathroom very clean and the beds comfy. The kitchen is very well equipped, breakfast is provided and Raffaella even baked us a wonderful cake. Speaking of Raffaella, she is the super nice Lady in charge of everything, she helps with recommending restaurants, where to go in Roma and how to get there, she is super helpful...btw Netflix is also available. We would go there again, great location and super friendly, grazie tanto
