Antico Forno Roscioli is a renowned bakery and deli that has been serving up delicious treats since 1972. This family-run establishment combines traditional baking methods with modern flair to create some of the city's most beloved breads, pastries, and pizzas. The comforting aroma of freshly baked goods welcomes visitors as they step inside this historic venue. The bakery is famous for its signature sourdough bread and thin-crust Roman-style pizzas topped with fresh ingredients.
We had an Airbnb nearby in our stay in Rome, so we decided to check out Antico Forno Roscioli around 10 AM after finding good Google reviews on it. Thankfully, there was no line when we arrived, and we were able to walk right in. The place has a reputation for being busy, but going in the morning seemed to help us avoid the crowds. The staff was welcoming and efficient, and the atmosphere felt both lively and local. While most people come for the pizza, we were surprised by the variety beyond that. The counter was full of fresh breads, pastries, and other baked goods that looked just as tempting. It’s easy to get carried away if you’re hungry, especially since everything is sold by weight and beautifully displayed. Even so, prices were reasonable, and it was a fun way to sample a bit of everything. The staff made the process easy, offering English descriptions and helping us navigate the options without feeling rushed. Whether you’re grabbing a few slices or just picking up fresh bread or a sweet pastry, it’s worth stopping in—especially if you’re staying nearby and can beat the crowds.
Leon J — Google review
There’s a reason there’s so much hype around Roscioli. The bakery is superb. It feels like most people come for the pizza (it was delicious) but the breads and pastries all looked delicious too. One of the culinary highlights of our trip to Rome. If you walk past and there’s a queue, join it. You’ll be queuing for 5 mins at most and it’s inevitably much better than many other places in Rome
Daniel D — Google review
The sweet is better than savoury. Not sure why I haven’t seen many people talk about the sweet pastries. The fig tart was really good. The custard wasn't overly sweet and it paired well with the base. The base biscuit was very soft and crumbly, more like a soft cookie rather than a typical hard tart base. The ventaglio was also quite good, it was a pastry version of the butterfly cookie and not too sweet either. The chilli pizza slice was good, the olive oil on it was quite good, not too oily or heavy. But nothing super special. The ham sandwich with lettuce was eh. The lettuce on it tasted weird.
Bella R — Google review
Honestly truly worth the hype and queue outside. Excellent pizza al taglio with a variety of toppings and pizza bianca made to order. The base is nicely crisp with a pillowy dough, all fresh produce and Roscioli-made ingredients. Pizza Burrata is essential and Pizza Bianca con Mortadella is also excellent (very high quality deli meats). Go before lunch rush (12 pm) to beat the queue, but it moves fairly quickly anyway. Service is understandably curt because of how busy it gets, just know what you want and order right away.
M — Google review
Definitely worth the stop!! This is the cutest, most authentic feeling little Italian bakery/deli/pizza spot. It's very small inside with a whole lot of people trying to place orders. Kind of chaotic. Outside there r a couple tables against the building with a few chairs. Definitely not a lot of seating, but it's possible. Pastries & fresh breads look delicious and barely out of the oven, but we didn't try those. Did get a few different salami sliced up for snacking later & those were wonderful. Also got some pizza slices, which they warmed & we ate outside. Like most other quick pizza spots, they cut a portion off the large pizza and then after warming it slice it into smaller pieces. This places cuts very large pieces so if ur not super hungry or want to try a few types, might want to ask for a smaller portion. This shop was also more expensive than others, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and flavor of it. Also, Roscioli has a coffee shop down the street so make sure you go to the correct location.
Q S — Google review
As every time I’m in Rome, I headed to Roscioli for lunch to grab some pizzas. The place has no seating area inside but there’s a nearby park where I always sit to enjoy my food, so that’s not an issue. Roscioli offers both sweets and savoury dishes, and their highlight is pizza, which comes in different shapes and flavours. Prices are ok, not cheap but not overly pricey. With 16 euros I was insanely stuffed. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food quality outstanding. Overall a great find, totally recommend.

We lined up here for a quick morning bite in Rome. It's worth the try for a grab-and-go. Pros: > Has a variety of classic Italian breads from savory to sweet > We tried a few pizzas, which were really good > Even with a line, service moves at a decent pace—ordering and getting your food doesn’t take too long. Cons: > There is not enough seating so can be a hassle to eat while standing outside. > It can get very busy and crowded.

i loved it! the zucchini and stracciatella pizza flavor is soooo good, and the pilsner beer of the house is also amazing! great merch as well, my favorite souvenir from rome was a tote bag from this place

Regoli Pasticceria is a century-old, family-owned bakery located in Esquilino Rome. The shop features arched ceilings and is renowned for its classic creme-based pastries and tarts. Locals flock to Regoli at all times of the day, particularly on weekends, to indulge in their mouth-watering pastries, with the maritozzo being a standout delicacy.
An oasis when I am waiting for my hotel manager in a super hot summer. Their Cannolo Siciliano is superb. Its wrap is crispy. The cream is not too sweet. The cream also offers a bit crunchy texture as there are some chocolate chips scattered inside. The chopped pistachios are also fresh. Their coffee fizz passion also offers a surprise in the way that it is refreshingly sour and sweet without compromising the flavour of coffee. Their ice cappuccino caramello salato also strikes a good balance between coffee, milk and salted caramel. I also tried their seafood spaghetti. Their seafood is very fresh. Their spaghetti is al dente but can be a bit soft. Their sauce is just fit. Not too salty. After all, nice pastry and summer's special from this pastry cafe. Also a delightfully delicious lunch from this cafe. The place is clean. The sunroom is spacious. The attendants are friendly and diligent. A place I would visit again when I come to Rome next time.
Bryan C — Google review
This is truly the best maritozzo in Rome. The bun is light, the cream has a lemon zest that balances everything beautifully, and the dessert isn’t overly sweet, which I see as a huge plus. In addition, the wild berry pâtissier was excellent, and I also tasted the cake with vanilla cream and chocolate crisps — it was a real celebration.
מירית ע — Google review
If you also like Italian cream buns, then you absolutely cannot miss this bakery. In addition to being able to choose large or small cream buns, it also offers a variety of different styles of pastries made with cream and ordinary bread. In addition, the shop is actually composed of a main bakery and a coffee shop. If you only want cream buns, you can go directly to the coffee shop to place an order and buy the coffee you want. But if you want to take away or choose other styles of pastries, you can only buy them in the bakery first and then go to the coffee shop to choose your favorite coffee. In short, this is also a must-try bakery in Rome.
Zen C — Google review
Stopped at Regoli Pasticceria to try the Maritozzi, and it was definitely worth the short wait in line. Service was quick and friendly, and the pastry was fresh, fluffy, and delicious. There are plenty of other tempting options in the bakery too. Would definitely come back and recommend- so tasty!
T R — Google review
Worth the visit. Great service. Delicious pastries. This spot was a 10min walk from my hotel and I stumbled into it one morning looking for a caffe. Ended up eating a cannoli and taking some pastries to go. The Sfogliatella was delicious, it had 2 different types of stuffing, the main being the traditional style semolina creamed mixture as well as a cannoli ricotta style. The ricotta style didn’t not have the same taste as you would except, it was creamer. Different from what I am use to but delicious!
Tom T — Google review
This was my first time trying the famous marritozzo from Regoli, and it didn’t disappoint. The brioche bun was very airy and fluffy, with a slight lemon zest to it, which I enjoyed. The whipped cream was also very light and delicious, as it wasn’t too sweet. I wouldn’t go out of the way, if you’re only in Rome for a short visit, but do recommend if you’re nearby the establishment.
Joshua A — Google review
The fagottini di ricotta is (no exaggeration) the best pastry I’ve had in my life! Highly recommend that one, and the wild strawberry tart is very good too. The maritozzi and cannoli were just okay in my opinion, but they seem to be really popular. Went here 2 days in a row, once at 8am and another at 10am. There was no queue at 8am but at 10am I had to wait around half an hour, so definitely try to go early.
Kristina B — Google review
Delicious and beautiful pastries, be prepared to wait in line and be ready to point if you don't know Italian. They were very helpful and kind to us even with a language barrier, the cream puff pastries were to die for, and the fruit tart was super fresh. Would certainly come back!!

Bakery
Forno Campo de' Fiori is a well-established bakery offering a variety of traditional sweet and savory baked goods as well as slices of pizza. Despite the bustling atmosphere in the central piazza, their simple yet delicious pizza by the slice is a must-try. The bakery offers different toppings such as tomato sauce, salt and olive oil, zucchini flower, anchovy, and mozzarella.
Amazing! The service is super fast, and the food is amazing, at a fair price. I got the sandwich pizza with mortadella, ruccola e parmigiano. They heat it up at the moment. It truly was amazing!! There are no tables or seats, just a little table on the wall where you can put your beverage
Maqui B — Google review
An excellent, thin crust, take-away pizza!! We shared the red pizza and the Margherita. Fresh, quality ingredients, and crispy crust! And I loved that you could watch the pizzas being made as you ordered. My only complaint is that we had to eat the pizza at an Irish pub nearby because the pizza place was take-away only.
Michelle — Google review
I had the mortadella focaccia and the bread tasted fresh. The flavors were extremely simple, with a focus on the freshness of the ingredients. I also had their ragu suppli and it was the highlight for me. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside!
Abdullah — Google review
One of my favourite panini spots in the city! Always the freshest, tastiest ingredients and the bread is always perfectly crisp and doused in high quality olive oil. Highly recommend the simple mortadella panino and any of the vegetarian options but especially the one with zucchini, tomatoes and grated provolone. Sweet, ripe tomatoes are such a treat when in Italy. Definitely get your panini to take away and sit on the edge of the nearby fountain in the piazza to enjoy them in the sun.
Jules D — Google review
IlForno in Campo de’ Fiori has been a staple for us whenever we’re in Rome, and more often than not, we find ourselves visiting multiple times a day. It’s the ultimate spot for what we call “walkie-talkie pizza”—fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious slices perfect for grabbing on the go while soaking in the energy of the piazza. Since 1970, this bakery has stayed true to its roots, never compromising on quality or tradition. Every bite reflects the care and skill of the bakers who craft their pizzas and breads daily, using the best ingredients—rigorously extra virgin olive oil, high-quality butter, and rich, flavorful toppings. There are no shortcuts here, just pure, honest flavors that have stood the test of time. Whether it’s the classic pizza bianca, the irresistible pizza rossa, or any of their other specialties, Il Forno never disappoints. The aroma alone is enough to draw you in, and once you’ve had a taste, you’ll likely be back for more (as we always are). A true Roman institution and an absolute must for anyone in the area!
I. M — Google review
Another top-tier Roman bakery. Their pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice) is excellent. A great way to end the Roman food experience.
Nika K — Google review
A long established bakery in the heart of Rome. Excellent quality pizza sold by weight and delicious pastries

I came at 8.30am and no long queue. I got my focaccia and pizza al taglio… both are still warm and was soooooo good. The focaccia is the best, it’s crunchy but soft.

Biscottificio Artigiano Innocenti is a long-standing, family-run patisserie located in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere. This bakery has been operated by four generations of women in the Innocenti family and is renowned for selling some of the best biscotti in Rome. The cookies are authentically Italian, with a crisp and light texture meant for dipping in tea or enjoying at breakfast.
Great little cookies and treats! Gentlemen working was happy to tell us about them all and spoke great English. Got a bag of about 2 fistfuls for 7 USD

The best cookie bakery in the city. Plus, the nice lady gave me some free cookies because I complimented her yellow oven. It’s a beautiful oven (and delicious cookies).

If you want to remember your childhood and your mother's/grandmother's cookies, then this is the perfect place! Delicious and varied cookies, too bad they didn't display the name of each one, to make it easier when ordering (for us tourists). A few blocks away we discovered another bakery, where they serve other types of Italian cookies (cannoli, maritozzo, tiramisu).
Isabella R — Google review
We came here during a local food tour and sampled several biscotti, each delicious and delightful
Abdullah — Google review
Good experience…..I tried 10 different types of biscuits…..each one with a very distinctive taste….also price very fair (4-5 EUR).
Manucsn — Google review
Food weighed per KG rather than individual pricing makes buying from here nice and easy. The biscotti that they sell are delicious, I would highly recommend trying one of each of what they sell. It is not going to cost a lot as they are mostly small bites. We bought from here then had the pleasure of having more from our Eating Europe Rome food tour.
Mitchell S — Google review
The baked goods are fresh and delicious. I would walk here every morning when in rome and pick up my cornetos, or whatever other baked goods, I want it and just buy my cappuccino from a nice bar. The cornetos from the bars are never fresh. But this place is just amazing. It is worth the walk.

Nestled in a quaint, unmarked street near Piazza San Cosimato, Le Levain Roma is a hidden gem for those craving an authentic bakery experience in the heart of Rome. Founded by chef Giuseppe Solfrizzi, who honed his skills at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie in Lyon and trained with renowned chocolatier Jean-Philippe Darcis in Belgium, this artisanal patisserie beautifully marries French baking techniques with Southern Italian culinary traditions.
The olive bread has got to be one of the best/tastiest breads I’ve ever eaten - and I love bread! Soft, fluffy and crunchy in all the right places and filled with loads of nice olives. Baked fresh on site this morning as was still warm when we picked it up. It’s more expensive than your usual breads at €5 for half/€10 for a whole loaf, but well worth it I think, delicious! The pastries looked great too, so I’ll be coming back to try those another time!
Jakey E — Google review
It was really crowded and they have very few tables. But its all worth the wait, well prepared ans tastes so good. Only issue is that, for coffees its vending machine. Service was quick and the staff was really friendly.
Ihsan — Google review
Staff was super nice and spoke excellent English, service was great and it wasn’t noisy and we were able to take a seat inside. We ordered a cinnamon roll and a pain au chocolate. Both were amazing, and fairly cheap for their quality (both €1,80). To drink we had a water, which was nicely cooled, and a biologically pressed pear juice, which is definitely worth trying despite the price tag (€4,80). This place is worth going to!

Very tasty pastry and sandwiches. Perfect for a breakfast. Mini pizza were our favourites and croissants but everything we tried was just great. We ate here in every morning durring our stay in Trastevere. ❤️🩵🩷

French bakery in Rome. The place is not to big, but maybe just enough for the sitting area. The breads were delicious as we expect from French bakery.

Kouign Amann was really buttery and layered, enjoyed it a lot while eating it. Vegan sandwich was nice to but the bread was too rough for a “baguette”. Ambiance is nice but PACKED. Better to grab some coffee and pastry and walk around :) Ps: surprised that they do not have espresso machine and let you grand from a coffee machine, was surprisingly tasty tho.

After glowing reviews of there quiche. I ordered both florantine and veggitable. Maybe vegetables are out of season this early in june but I received an egg and pea quiche. Not exactly bad just not the same veggie quiche that got the rave reviews! Very disappointed. I ordered many other things. They all look consistent with the photos mostly. Some were much smaller and some larger.

Panificio Bonci is a renowned bakery in Rome that offers delicious pizza by the slice. The bakery is known for its slow-rise organic flour dough, which results in a range of classic and innovative pizza options. Some popular choices include margherita, ricotta with black pepper and courgettes, and vignarola. While there's no seating available, the quality of the pizza makes it worth the visit. It's recommended to avoid peak lunch hours to beat the rush.
I went to this place three days in a row and might go again. First day i had the organic chicken and the artichoke potato side. It was divine! Please try it! Unfortunately i was so busy eating i couldn’t take a photo of it. Second day i had a suppli and small pizzaz. The third day i had the meatballs and artichoke potatoes again. Also was good but the first day! I get hungry thinking about it!
Isil E — Google review
Nice pizza but my partner and I were expecting a bit more. Tasty enough but did not wow us. We found better pizzas in Rome but worth the visit, just to try Bonci. Had the one with Rabbit and Potatos, did not pleased our palate while we tried the ham and cheese and it was the best flavour we tried in shop. Also the shop does not display many seats to seat down and eat I have seen there were like 4/5 seats only!!!
Lucas A — Google review
I can’t hype this place up enough, what a gem! By far the best pastries, especially maritozzo that we had in Rome. I also want to say how kind the staff were. They explained all of the pastries to us. They truly went above and beyond. We had been practicing Italian for our trip and they let us try and even gave us so pointers on how to improve. I felt so happy! Incredible meal and incredible people. I don’t know what more you could want. They have some standing room outside for you to enjoy your pastries.

Best pizza we had in two weeks in Italy — even compared to Naples! There are tons of options to choose from, and everything we tried was delicious. The pastries are great too. I just wish we had known there were tables available at their new location next door — we ate standing at an improvised counter and only found out about the seating afterward. It does get crowded, so be prepared to wait a bit. The staff is fine — just very busy and focused on helping customers quickly. Still, totally worth it for the pizza!

Expensive but soooo good (we paid €17 for the pizze in the photo). The ingredients they use are to die for. And the pizzetta is so crunchy and yummy. Go here if you want to treat yourself

Nestled in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere, Il Maritozzaro has been a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike since 1960. This no-frills café is dedicated to serving up some of the finest maritozzi in Rome—those delightful, fluffy buns that are often enjoyed as a breakfast treat. Each maritozzo is lovingly brushed with sugar syrup and generously filled with freshly whipped cream, creating an irresistible combination that will have you coming back for more.
Best place in Rome for sweets, the viennoiseries were so good! Maritozzo of course is good, even if it’s just a stuffed chantilly brioche. And the sfogliattella was so crunchy and tasty. I recommend going here, even if it’s not city center, it’s so worth it and the people are very nice. Almost did a detour to come back but we were so late for our train haha

It tasted like plain cream in a sandwich. A dessert with no special qualities. If it’s on your way, you can give it a try, but it’s definitely not worth a special trip.

Typical Italian place for a coffee and some pastries (or, as they call it - breakfast 😁), most of them are sweet, but a few savory options are also available. Quick service, no English, but we understood each other quite nicely 👍🏻 a few tables outside, to enjoy the sun while having a coffee and a bite (no nice views, as it's a neighbourhood cafe, but it's ok)

I was here on a Saturday night at around 10 and was surprised to see freshly baked items coming from the kitchen. Then looking at their timings, realised they are open 24h except on Mondays or so. Everything that we brought was delicious.

Such a cute little authentic Roman pastry shoppe. Incredible food with an old and beautiful vibe. A few tables and chairs outside to compliment. Very friendly staff willing to overcome my language barrier.

Loved this old-school pastry shop, famous obviously for the maritozzaro, but I got a Pasticciotto, filled with vanilla custard cream, and it is the best thing I have eaten since arriving in Rome. I’m going to hop on the 8 tram tomorrow and buy more.

The owner was lovely - but I heard so many amazing things about the maritozzaro that I was quite let down. It’s just bread with cream inside. The simplest you can imagine. Wasn’t bad per se, just, curb your expectations..

Founded by Augusto Panella, this historic spot has evolved over the years to offer an extensive range of baked goods to cater to diverse tastes. The bakery is also known for its connection to coffee, featuring a coffee machine made by Italy's oldest company, Victoria Arduino.
Love all the coffee types they serve with its rich aroma, those different types of espresso they provide is a must try. The hot pizzas slices, patisserie, croissants.. etc, are really awesome. Amazing staff, vibes and atmosphere. My favorite spot 👍👍👍

Panella, definitely in my morning stops when in town. The atmosphere is lovely with both indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Perfect whether you want a cozy coffee break inside or to soak up the street life outside. The coffee is excellent, and their brick oven pastries and pizzas are hard to resist. I’m especially hooked on their pistachio cornettos, flaky, rich, and filled just right. The cannolis are also a treat, and they make the cutest little sandwiches that are perfect for a light bite.

We really enjoyed Caffè Panella and ate breakfast here several times on our trip. The pastries and pizza are delicious. Good coffee also. You first order at the counter and pay afterwards, which is a bit confusing at first, but once we figured it out, it worked fine. Nice outside seating area.

Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria, located in Rome's Centro Storico near Campo de Fiori, is a charming café known for its traditional Italian coffee culture and artisanal brewing methods. The café offers a unique blend of gourmet coffee crafted from artisan beans by Torrefazione Giamaica, with precision in brewing techniques such as pour-over and siphon coffee.
Our stop for an afternoon espresso and a sweet treat during our stay in Rome. Nice staff, efficient and appreciative and encouraging of me trying to order in very basic Italian. Good coffee and delicious treats. The freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Maritozzi, cornetti and the orange cake are definitely worth trying here. The place has more modern vibe than some older cafes, so may not be as charming but the quality is high.

What an amazing experience. The restaurant was fully booked up but they opened up a back room for us and some other guests. We sat around an over sized table with a bar at the one end. Beautiful spot to have lunch. The gentleman took a seat at our table and went around taking each of our orders. He joked with our children and made us all feel welcomed. The food was outstanding! But the experience was even better. This place deserves far more recognition than it has. Best meal in Rome.
Cherie B — Google review
We visited Roscioli Caffè and tried a few of their stuffed maritozzi and they were absolutely delicious. Light, fluffy, and filled with rich, flavorful cream. Definitely worth the hype when it comes to pastries. However, the service was quite slow, especially considering we only ordered pastries nothing from the kitchen. It took longer than expected to be served. We were seated inside and the space felt a bit clustered, which made the experience less comfortable. I’d recommend ordering takeout and enjoying it at a nearby piazza or park for a more pleasant experience.
Hamoud — Google review
One of the worst aperol spritz and Hugo spritz I have ever had, both with more prosecco just to fill the glass, completely removing the emblematic flavors of both these cocktails. The service absolutely terrible, the server came to serve the table next to us who got seated after us (big surprise it was the owners partner, now it makes sense) after serving us and slamming the drinks in my table I tasted the absolute worst spritz I have had. Terrible place would not recommend to anyone who is visiting or lives here.

Roma is swarming with all variety of tourists and many are rude/obnoxious. The key is to learn a little Italian and connect with the overworked staff like a human. Roma is a marvel, the entire city should be declared a World Heritage site. Where else can you walk amongst 2000 year old monuments to Democracy, Civilization and the Wonders of The Human Creative and Artistic potential?? I tried to get into their Salumeria resto the night before—like most good spots during a massive swarm of tourists and Jubillee pilgrims—sold out. Undaunted I returned the next morning for un ristretto and got a table out front, sipping a perfect 3rd wave Cappucino XL, and enjoying a delicious panino. The swarm of tourists got to me, God bless the staff(!!) of course people from all over the world are hungry/tired and uncertain of how Roma caffe culture works but geesh. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see strict disciplinary measures enforced from Coloseo days(whips?) I moved inside to the counter—that’s where the real fun is!! Learn some Italian and you’ll have the best time with the staff and what few Romans brave the tourists to get their place at the counter. It’s all about standing, mingling and chatting!! I’d go back to Roma tomorrow to repeat this day for an entire week. I showed him a specialty coffee article about best Roman caffes, and he proceeded to write down 5 more that he recommended! I mentioned that I had tried and failed to get into the resto, and he blew me away with his 150% xtra hospitality!! He left his post, inquired down the street, and returned with a counter spot for me at 7 that night!!!! Alessandro(?) Grazie Mille-you’re a true gem. I also needed to find a bike shop to fill my tires with air and the other adorable fellow zoomed in on his phone (my phone didn’t have wifi) and showed me the exact spot!! This is a world class spot in the bustling Campo dei Fiori district. Well run, a legacy group, serving great caffe, and good pastries+panino. But as always, it’s the warmth of the staff that make it incredible. Grazie 🏛️🇮🇹🫶🙏

Pasticceria Boccione, also known as Il Forno del Ghetto, is a compact kosher bakery located in Rome's Jewish Ghetto.
I go here every time I’m in Rome multiple times each visit. If you time it lucky you will be able to enjoy the Jewish pizza whilst it is still warm and fresh out of the oven. This has only happened to me once unfortunately but it is so good anyway I keep going back. The candied fruit in the Jewish pizza is just wonderful and it is so stuffed with fruit pieces and almonds. The ricotta and cherry torte is nice also. The older ladies can be a bit curt like most of the ladies serving in every establishment in Rome but mostly they are friendly enough.
Dee — Google review
Try the ricotta sour cherry tart if you're in the area. Even though it's sold by weight, the lady at the counter wouldn't cut anything smaller than what is pictured below and it came out to around 5 euros. It sounds and looks heavy, but the tart is actually quite light and not too sweet. The fluffy, rich, and slightly sweet ricotta is balanced out by the sour cherry base. There are a couple public benches across the street to sit on while enjoying your treat which is a nice bonus!
M L — Google review
Great place for a sweet treat. Sold by the weight, an average slices of about €4. Don't worry if they have sold out of ricotta and cherry. The other offerings are great too!
James M — Google review
Essential stop in Rome for traditional Jewish bakes. Cherry Ricotta Tart is the most popular here but the Pizza Ebraica and Soft Almond Amaretti deserve more praise. If you catch the Pizza Ebraica warm from the oven (usually on Friday mornings) you hit the jackpot. The nonnas behind the counter are understandably a little curt because of language barriers but still very welcoming. Be polite, ask or point to what you want, and don’t linger too long. Go earlier in the day when things are still fresh.
M — Google review
After 20 minutes waiting for ordering, we ordered two pieces of ricotta with cherry and chocolate, which is more delicious with cherry. They are so slow and the atmosphere was not that very kind and catchy. It is worth to try one. But I ate a better one somewhere else in Rome.
Farideh M — Google review
Arrived around 11:15 on a Friday. It’s best to get here early as there was a que down the road when I had left also they run out of food later on the day. On a Friday they close early and aren’t open on Saturday engaging Sabbath. One downside they had some burnt ‘pizza’ I wasn’t going to buy it but the old lady went to the back and brought out a freshly baked one that wasn’t burnt and the younger lady started telling her off for it saying they had to sell the burnt ones first… Other than this good experience and lovely food. The shop is very small and no outdoor seating.

Lovely pastry shop surprise! Was looking for Gelato and came across this right opposite my hotel. Beautiful pastries, lovely flavors and great coffee. Ordered a barberini. Espresso and shakerato. Good stuff but sadly they tried to overcharge me. They said barberini was EUR 10 (changed later to 8) and the shakerato was EUR 5 instead of only 2.90 (big size it seems, though size was never asked). Apart from this pricing issue, place to sit and enjoy. Really friendly service and good music. Plan to visit again.

We paid 12 euros for 10 pieces, 16 euros with cap and juice. Normal prices, very good desserts, but we tried a single portion cheesecake with berries and a pistachio foam. The ones pictured are bright red and green. They are something EXAGERATION!!! TRY THEM. Bathroom without toilet paper and not very clean, tables cleared but not cleaned. Those were the only negatives. I would definitely go back, especially for the kindness and friendliness of a sales assistant with the same obsessive compulsive worries as us! He divided the plate with one person's and the other's orders. Stupendous! (Original) Vacci, ti piacerà! Ci sono andato, mi è piaciuto. Ordered the almond, pistachio, chocolate and hazelnut scoop of ice cream. All vegan, all tasted amazing. It’s really refreshing to see no artificial flavourings and colourings. These colours are normal, but the flavours were REAL, it is what you want from an ice cream. Definitely one of the best ice cream spots in Italy. I also ordered a coconut/pineapple/date shake too. Really refreshing.

We visited Grezzo Raw Chocolate and tried their ice cream and a hazelnut dessert called “Emblema.” The ice cream was really nice, smooth and rich in flavour. On the other hand, the hazelnut dessert was a bit too intense for me. The hazelnut taste was very strong, and after a few bites, it became overwhelming. Still, it's a good spot if you enjoy vegan, raw, rich desserts and want to try something different.

Grezzo was such a nice little shop! My husband and I both had the mandorla con café (with their own espresso in the flavor). It was incredible, so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. The woman working was so helpful when it came to picking out truffles to take with us. The chocolate was rich, decadent and the perfect amount of sweetness. Super tasty food! I have been to these place a couple of times and the food is divine! High quality and flavours for a very affordable price. The staff is also super friendly, providing an outstanding customer service. Grazie!

I ordered quick pizza before going on a tour. The pizza was great price (6 euros) but personally not my favorite. It was thin crust and super crunchy (almost like a cracker). The sauce didn’t seem fresh. Pastries looked good! But I didn’t get a chance to try.
Candi T — Google review
My Italian teacher recommended this place so I could try suppli for the first time. This place was fantastic! The suppli was delicious! All the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I even saw my teacher buying there while I was eating. I will definitely continue to go, and I highly recommend it.

Perfectly thin crispy crust with mixture of brilliant toppings, we came back 2nd day after recommend by our tour guide. Close to collosum. Pastries amazing - so many ro choose from, definitely recommend stopping here!

We went twice in one day…. The pizza was SO amazing! Thick crust and crispy bottom. Their breakfast pastries were good too. Elim was super helpful with ordering our dinner pizza and it was delicious!!

Great place. The pizzas were extremely affordable and staff super lovely. Only wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more. Shall be coming back again.

The pastries were a bit stale here and the pizza was lacking in flavor. The staff was a bit condescending while I was trying to order and made an uncomfortable joke to my friend. The atmosphere is a bit run down.
Rebecca M — Google review
The marritozzi was yummy! The sfogliatelle and fruit pastry was probably a bit stale and not flaky or crispy - we were there at 10am, which I hope was not very late in the day. The coffee is self-serve which surprised us a little. Good value for money overall.

After exploring the taste of Italy for a long time, we’ve discovered another top-quality Roman gem: Gruè Pasticceria – a delightful cake and sweet shop in the heart of Rome. An exceptional experience with delicious pastries and excellent coffee. We’ll definitely be back soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service. Clean spot. Same quality of Marstro Iginio Massari 🇮🇹

Terrific place for breakfast Roman style. Luscious savory sandwiches (small bites of perfect), followed by some sweet- croissants with yummy filling (airy bread soft and perfect, or maybe a little strawberry tart that requires another. The cappuccino are just right- no sugar needed or wanted. This place is gorgeous and full of locals who come back because it’s perfect. Go. Then go again.

I truly enjoyed both the sweet and savoury treats — you can really tell they’re prepared by a talented pastry chef using top-quality ingredients. The place itself is elegant and located in a beautiful part of the city, yet the prices are surprisingly fair. Finally, the pastry chef was incredibly kind and even shared a few suggestions on where to find similar experiences back home in Milan

The place offers different drinks, tea specialties are €4,50. Place is neat and modern. Pretty clean and young personel. They explained every macaroon flavour to me, tiramisu, strawberry with a hint of roses, chocolate with ginger, blue berry, lemon, really great. 1,50 a piece macaroon

Casa Manfredi is a renowned pastry shop with two locations near Piramide station in Rome. They are known for their delectable pastries and the best Pandoro during Christmas. The Aventine Hill location offers a blend of traditional and modern sweets influenced by Italian and French baking practices, along with high-quality coffee.
It’s a shame this place has such low rating. I only enjoyed a coffee and croissant there but have enjoyed their selections at home many times. Their pastries are exquisite! Their almond croissant is my fav. I’ve never had one that delicious. Their coffee is very good, serving Lavazza’s luxury brand. It can get crowded but that’s because they offer really good food. The service I think could use a little work but perhaps an extra hand and a smile. Other than that I will always say they are the best 🤌🏽🤌🏽

We have found this lovely place accidentally (as this was the only outlet open at 8 in the morning). However it turned out a fortunate choice as everything was amazing. The pastries were fresh and delicious, perfectly prepared crispy croissants filled with smooth creams. The coffee was also nice just like the server lady. They also sell cakes and savoury pastries, but we could not try it unfortunately. If you are in the area, it worth a stop:)

Just don go. Not worth it. They do now want to work. Like at all. Bunch of customers waiting in line to get a seat and only one girl was running all over that place ignoring us all,and the excuse was that there was only one person at the back, when I entered I saw at least 3 guys at the bar, serving coffee and pastries. Ended up taking my order to go. Honestly I didn’t understand the hype of this place. You can get better for our money anywhere else.

My iced latte was the best I have ever had, as someone who usually gets them with a flavor in the U.S., this one tasted amazing without any syrups or sugar added. They also had oat milk which was great! I was also blown away by how delicious the tomato toast was, at first I was skeptical but felt like trying something new and I was not disappointed! The basil oil/pesto spread at the bottom and drizzled on top complimented the cherry tomatoes so well, I would highly recommend!

Tasty pastries and cozy vibes! We tried the pain au chocolat and the babka — both were absolutely delicious, buttery, soft, and just sweet enough to make you smile. Beautiful place, but disappointing experience Tulipane is such a lovely spot — beautiful interiors, delicious food, and a concept I genuinely want to support. I really appreciate small businesses, especially in Rome, and I was excited to visit again. However, I didn’t quite understand the attitude of having so few pastries in the morning and not baking more. Not only I, but several other people came in looking for pastries, and they were almost gone already… such a pity, because it’s still Rome — everyone wants their cornetto for breakfast! Also, some of the staff were surprisingly arrogant and not very welcoming, which really took away from the experience. It’s a bit strange too that they don’t offer decaf coffee, even though they say they specialize in high-quality coffee. I truly hope they improve, because the place itself has great potential.

From the beginning, millions of thanks to the chef. He made a super clam pasta. For the service I think my experience was not that much pleasant. First, I waited for more than 15 min before I stepped inside the restaurant and called someone to take my order. Then, they forgot to add the pasta and they added it later adding more wait time. They also didn't serve compimentary bread and olive oil. I would come back for the food taste and would give them my immediate comment if they provide poor service.

Pompi is a renowned self-serve cafe, pastry shop, and ice-cream parlor in Rome that has gained citywide acclaim for its exceptional tiramisu. The 55-year-old establishment proudly dubs itself "il Regno del Tiramisu" (the kingdom of tiramisu), and it lives up to this title with its exquisite rendition of the classic dessert.
Outstanding Tiramisu both here and the venue near the Spanish steps. The best in Rome for Classico. No questions. Soft and well coffee'd sponge with creamy layers above and the bonus crunch of chunks of chocolates sprinkled on top as you leave. What more could you want from a pudding! The ice-cream is also fabulous too. 5 euros, take my money please.
Duncan M — Google review
We tried 4 items: Tiramisu Classique, Mont Blanc, Cannoli, and café crema. 1. Tiramisu was good, classic. 2. Mont Blanc was the worst I've had in this life time. This should not be sold, it is disgraceful how bad it was. 3. Cannoli was not good. The filling flavor was off and it was poorly filled. Only the ends had ricotta, the entire center was empty. 4. The café crema was too sweet, not enjoyable. In the 14 days I've been in Italy, I've been in Venice, Florence, Chianti, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and Rome. This place was the worst and the only place I felt like my money was wasted. Do not go here.
Frankie K — Google review
We come here with friends sometimes, mostly for the tiramisu. Even though you can find better tiramisu in Rome, this location has a nice atmosphere and it’s a good place to sit. The classic tiramisu is good enough and well-balanced. We also tried the gelato once, but it felt too touristy and colorful, not really my taste. Service is average. They ask for payment at the table before the dessert arrives. We ordered tea with it, which went really well. Parking is a big problem around here, since it’s close to Re di Roma square and the area is always busy. Still, it’s a nice spot to meet up and chat and don’t expect high quality

Some staff are nice but the rest are not..typical italian customer service. Luckily their tiramisu is above good, otherwise nothing special here. The ambience is okay.
John W — Google review
The tiramisu is refreshing and fluffy, croissants are one of the best I've had. The waiters are nice and welcoming, one of them even saved our water bottle when we forgot it so he could give it back to us tomorrow. They are patient and supportive if you try and practice speaking italian with them, especially the guys that work behind the bar!
Milica N — Google review
Excellent Tiramisu, Pannacotta and service Quality. The staff speak some English too. Will go back there.

They have different tastes of tiramisu I tried the the pistachio one. It was good and it was a new taste for me. I liked it, but it wasn’t something that I say I will come to have that one again. But I think it worth trying. The staff were super friendly and professional The cafeteria itself looks good and it’s clean

"I Dolci di Nonna Vincenza" is a family-run bakery in Rome that offers an authentic taste of Sicily. The bakery imports homegrown nuts and ingredients directly from Sicily, such as almonds and pistachios, to create their delicious treats. One must-try item is the Olivette di Sant Agata made with almonds, while those craving intense pistachio flavors can opt for the simple dry cake made with flour, eggs, honey, and pistachios.
A lovely place. A must if you wanna have some Sicilian pastries in Rome. I had a small cannolo with ricotta and a cake stuffed ricotta and powdered with a bit cinnamon. The flavors were very decadent and well balanced. The ricotta was delicate, not too sweet and the crust was crunchy and not too oily. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They prices are a bit pricy but totally worth it!
Kassem M — Google review
There is something not quite right about the pistachio cannolo. The pastry that encases the filling curves in quickly from the middle, clearly too little pastry relative to the amount of filling, and the filling was very underwhelming - not quite sure how best to describe it but it was thin and not as creamy as past cannoli I’ve had - like very diluted ricotta cheese filling. It was also evident when some filling got onto the paper, you can see how translucent it is. True cannolo filling will be thick, and creamy, not translucent. Regretted getting the large one. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t come back again. But if you really want a cannolo in Rome, perhaps best to get a small one to sample first.

We discovered this lovely little café near our hotel in Rome, and it quickly became our go-to breakfast spot every morning. The ricotta-filled cornetto was absolutely incredible. I still think about it and can’t wait to have it again on my next visit! We also enjoyed their cannoli and coffee, which were both really good. The staff were friendly, and the place had that cozy, local Italian charm 🤍
Sumie — Google review
A good try, they're most known for their cannoli, so we were set on ordering it. I never had a cannoli, so I was glad to give them a try here. They have a limited seating area but I was able to snag a free table. We got three small cannolis to share: ricotta, limone, and pistachio. We enjoyed the limone the most, followed by the ricotta. Overall, we enjoyed the cannolis here, glad I was able to get a table so that we can rest for a bit as we enjoyed the sweets. follow @food.vince on instagram and tiktok for more travel eats!

Simply the best cannoli I’ve ever had. If you’re in town and have even the slightest sweet tooth, this iconic dessert shop is an absolute must-visit.

Excellent cannoli and coffee a little bit off the beaten track. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Ricotta cannoli was a winner!
Mark S — Google review
Whenever in Rome I always come to this little pastry shop, as I love cannoli and they have several sweets which are worth trying. You order at the counter, pay, and then you can sit in one of the two rooms they have. The place is not crowded with tables, so you can relax for a bit without being bothered. Their coffee is ok, while the cannolis were delicious. I had two small ones, one with orange and the other one with lemon cream. Crispy, tangy and with much filling. Staff were very friendly and pleasant, prices quite honest. Overall a great find.

Good coffee - intense and smooth. Nice cannoli, I got pistachio and original (ricotta). I couldn't taste the pistachio flavour but the original one was nice.

Ciuri Ciuri is a Sicilian pasticceria and gelateria located in the heart of Rome. Since its opening in 2007, it has become a popular spot for those seeking authentic Sicilian treats. The highlight of this establishment is its cannoli, which are freshly filled with sweetened ricotta just before serving, ensuring a light and crisp pastry shell.
Ciuri Ciuri was a great spot to stop for a delicious treat and a coffee. Their cannoli was absolutely delicious—crispy shell and a creamy, flavorful filling that was just perfect. The service was fantastic as well, making for a very pleasant experience. If you're looking for a great coffee and an amazing cannoli, this is the place to go!

We were looking for something light for lunch and the name caught our 👁️. They serve pastries, coffee (of course) and gelato too. The food all looked delicious and we wanted to try more but there is a limit to the tummy space. The place is a bit tight and really needs some squeezing around. But we has a good lunch nonetheless .

WORST FOOD AND SERVICE IN ROME! The food was really bad and they took 25 minutes to bring their "american food" which the juice was not fresh AT ALL, the bacon was very disgusting and they put a reall tiny portion of scra eggs. I pay 18€ for nothing! Never go there!
Ananda H — Google review
Everything we had there was genuinely disgusting, pizza, and ice cream. Fries are okay. They mistake my order and bring me a small beer instead of a pint It's been fixed by bringing me the same beer diluted with water. Yeah, I've noticed the colour has changed. It tastes pretty okay tho. I wasn't that brave enough to try that whipped cream they had.
Walter M — Google review
Try other places on this street. Stopped for a cannoli and was charged maximum price. There are three sizes and prices on the menu and we were not offered the options. Flavor was ok but nothing special. Wish I looked up reviews before stopping.
Curtis W — Google review
The café had a relatively clean space, and the pastries—especially the croissants and doughnuts—were decent. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or unfriendly; just average. One good thing was that it wasn’t too crowded. Overall, it was an okay experience—not bad, but not impressive enough to make me want to go back. Just a pretty average place.

Pizza Takeout
La Renella Forno Antico Trastevere is a historic bakery that has been serving delicious bread, biscuits, and pizzas since 1870. Located in a cozy alley near Piazza Trilussa, it's a popular spot for locals and tourists looking for quick and tasty bites. The bakery offers an array of freshly made pizzas, focaccias stuffed with fresh ingredients, and a tempting selection of desserts.
Welcome to the carb carnival. Next stop on our food tour, daring you to try just one more slice after your pants have already waved the white flag. This is no ordinary pizza place, it’s a forno, which is Italian for oven. Naturally, someone here looked at the bread, looked at the toppings, and said, Yes, this shall be pizza now. We kicked things off with the Margherita, the classy queen of pizzas, literally. Named after Queen before Italy decided to liberate itself, this was your classic tomato-mozzarella-basil situation. Red, Green and White like the Italian Flag. Regal. Nostalgic. Tastes like a monarchy that actually works. Then came the potato pizza, which, let me tell you, was a surprise carb ambush. Like, Oh cute, a slice of starch on starch. Bread with potatoes on it. For when your body is craving a food coma. And then came the Marinara, my personal Roman romance. No cheese, all attitude. Spicy, saucy, simple. Like that one ex who was too intense but kind of unforgettable. Let’s talk style: Roman pizza is not your floppy Neapolitan mess that folds into a pizza burrito the moment it hits your plate. No no, Roman pizza stands its ground. It’s a little thicker and definitely crunchier. You don’t need to roll it, cradle it, or whisper encouragement. It just is. And I love it more than I probably should. La Renella is where bread goes to find its higher purpose which is to be pizza.
Sara G — Google review
Delicious sandwiches (panini), the one with panchetta and veggies was supreme! They have lots of pizza or focaccia slices to choose from, which they heat up for you, if you'd like. I can recommend getting the food to eat inhouse, they have lots of bar seating and an interesting space (they display cooking essentials, an old motorcycle and lots of vintage weighing scales). It gets busy at lunchtime (as locals know how good La Renella is!!!) but the food is well worth a short (5-10 min) wait - as then you have time to choose from their large selection.
Antonia S — Google review
We visited La Renella as part of a Trastevere food tour. This place was amazing! We tasted a small pork sandwich, which was like nothing we had ever tasted. The pork is slow-cooked and incredibly tender. They also had a huge variety of pizzas and they were super busy with patrons all order different items. This place is a great little gem and not be missed. It was fantastic!
J B — Google review
🍕🍕🍕Every tourist wants to know “where the locals go” well look no further than La Renella!! Just across the Arno River in hustling Trastevere, Rome, La Renella is serving up oven (forno) favorites. When we visited, locals were purchasing large quantities of bread for tomorrow and a food guide was ordering various samples for their clients. NO LESS THAN 15 PIZZA OPTIONS!! Tomato, Prosciutto, Mortadella, Margherita, Caprese, Marinara with parsley, anchovies, you name it, there’s something for everyone. We didn’t leave a crumb! Everything was delicious but my favorite was the prosciutto which had the edges crisped after the oven reheat. ⭐️ Pro Tip: Figure out what you want and then be bold and order. Staff will use scissors to cut the size you want. You can have a small slice or as much as you want - just tell them how much you would like. Slices are weighed for your final cost. They asked me if we wanted them heated up. I said yes. 🍕🥐🍕🍞🍕🍪 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve been eating our way through Rome’s pizza… and this is the place we keep coming back to. The staff are friendly, the pizza delicious, and very reasonably priced at that. Lots of culinary tours seem to stop here, and it’s easy to see why.
Iain M — Google review
Brisk service, excellent pizza. Know what you will order when it’s your turn. The counter for eating is very long so you’re more likely to get a seat here than another by the slice pizza place.
Katri N — Google review
We came here to have a sandwich. I do not know what it is called, but it is pork meat. The pork has a nice saltiness. It was much better than eating ham. Also, the food tour guy mentioned that the price is set by weight. I love their old-school style, casual, and simple vibe. I would highly recommend this place for a quick casual bite.

I come here a couple of times a week, and it’s always amazing. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the pastries are great. At Mondi, Romans go to take sweets to someone's house as a sign of good will – the pastry shop is popular for its assortment of mini-shortbread crusts filled with cream and topped with fruit. You can either have them enjoy them at the bar, or grab a table to eat them properly.

It was a great breakfast experience! I got to eat two bombs as they are called one with chocolate and the other with lemon cream. They also had some great juices with pear and peach. They also had orange flavour but we didn’t try it. When we left they also gave us a treat which really made the experience better! Finally, they had a corner shop for an NGO that had some beautiful items for very affordable prices, I got the beautiful bear pin that was only 2,5€ and put it on my hat ! Overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone !

Everything about this place is awesome! Amazingly friendly service, delicious savory and sweet treats – what more can you ask for? The pictures speak for themselves! Small amount of seating inside and outside. Clean interior and simple, fun decor. Location has ample parking near the train tracks and if you are traveling with children, there even happens to be a nice little park around the side of the building. We were so pleased to find this out as we are traveling with our three-year-old daughter and a post-lunch park playdate is exactly what she needed!

Delicious! And 100% vegan and organic. The pastries are fantastic - try the bombolone - and the coconut cake was 🔥. The only challenge is the location. You’ll need to take the metro to get here. But it’s SO worth making the trip. The staff are wonderful, and the place is nice and quaint.

Closed until 24th August. Please update your opening hours on Google and HappyCow. Edit after a reply from the business: I made a special trip to this location during my brief time in Rome after my Umbria visit, before heading to the airport. Despite checking Google Maps, Happy Cow, Apple Maps, and the business's website, there was no indication of a temporary closure. I wasn't able to sample their food, and the absence of communication alone justifies a 1* rating. Furthermore, the business's unreasonable response adds to my disappointment. It's unrealistic to expect a higher rating under these circumstances.

It was a little out of the way from the main city, but took an extra bus to get here and had a delicious chocolate croissant and Smoothie for breakfast one day. They had so many baked goods and loved that everything was vegan! The owners/staff were so kind and appreciative of us visiting. I wish I didnt get so full to have room for more! Definitely recommend making a stop for specialty vegan baked goods you can't really find anywhere else!

We went out for Breakfast at Wani's. We found it online through Google maps and really liked the photos. The Backed goods where really great in taste and look. The service was good, but could be improved so is the coffee. For me it wasn't hot enough but that's personal opinion. Everything looked awesome but we chose "Cornetto alla crema" and "Maritozzo".
Unser P — Google review
We came all the way here to find a decent vegan cappuccino cornetto in Rome. The place is very small with uncomfortable seating, loud music and had an extremely bad smell of cleaning supplies, which made me leave after five minutes. We had to clean the table ourselves since the service seemed uninterested in actually serving us. cappuccino was terrible (like cleaning water). The prices were completely out of proportion. The bomba with cream was nice though, so that's the second star.

Had lunch on a Sunday (around 2:00pm). Ordered Parmigiana di melanzane alla siciliana, (Eggplant Parmesan)and a anacini di riso (a rice ball coated breadcrumbs and deep fried. The parmigiana was nice but too salty to my taste. The arancini was delicious, crispy from the outside and filled with meat, cheese, tomatoes and rice. For dessert I had cannolino which is a small cannoli, filled with sweet ricotta cheese, and a cappuccino. The dessert are the reason this place is so popular. Such a beautiful variety of sweets. Service was okay, not as personal as one expect, perhaps because the place was very busy. Was difficult to find a table to seat.... I will certainly be back to explore more of these beautiful desserts.

Babington's tea room is a charming and historic establishment located near the Spanish Steps in Rome. It was opened in 1893 by Isabel Cargill and Anna Maria Babington, offering a British-style tea experience to English expats and locals alike. The fourth generation of Isabel's descendants, Chiara Bedini and Rory Bruce, now manage the tearoom while preserving its late 19th-century ambiance.
Babington’s Tea Room is not only a calming and inviting spot to hang out or work, but it’s also a part of the Spanish Steps and the rich history of Rome. The owners, with their deep love for the history of the tea room, are always happy to share its fascinating past. With a fantastic tea selection—including iced, hot, and tea-infused cocktails—it’s a destination for more than just refreshments. The eggs Benedict and cheesecake are personal favorites, and the lovely, welcoming staff and owners make the experience even better! A visit here is as much about the history as it is about the ambiance.

While I was only able to stop for a “to go” tea since we were sight seeing, I’ll give my thoughts on my time waiting in the cafe area. The service is very nice and I was able to get my tea quickly. They even took my tea bag out at the appropriate time before I left the shop so I could enjoy the peak flavor while drinking it. They have tons of options of tea, and food. There’s tea you can buy inside the shop, but don’t rush! Go and enjoy the journey of the tea. If I am back in this area I would absolutely stop in for a proper tea time. The atmosphere was very authentic and quiet, even considering its location next to the steps. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. What an awesome place even if you’re not a tea lover, they have other beverages as well.

Has a crush on this tea shop! Really beautiful and tasty cakes , good tea, coffee was good too. Tiramisu was so airy with nice coffee , cream was also tasty. The atmosphere and decoration are very relaxing and elegant ! The staff is so nice , educated and smiling ! Really nice uniform too! I really recommended this place . Wish there would be a place like this in Paris !!

Great high tea (and coffee) near the Spanish Steps! I saw Babington’s many times as I made my way back and forth across the metropolis of Rome. After dinner one night I was craving something sweet and swooped into this lovely tea room. Even though it was near closing they still took my partner and I for a quick dessert. Could not have been happier with the torte. Light and rich at the same time and tons of great flavor thanks to the strawberries! Id highly recommend this place to anyone wanting an upscale breakfast, sweet treat, or high tea as you shop to your hearts content.

It's just an expensive coffee shop with a lot teas from black tea, herbal, to fruits. Also, special teas from China and Japan. Lovely place and beautiful service. But honestly, it doesn't deserve that expensive price for cup of tea or coffee.

The location could not be better. We sat literally at the foot of the Spanish steps and enjoyed the view while having our breakfast. The food served was of good quality though the coffee was already lukewarm when we received it. I would recommend this place anyways

Nestled just off Piazza Vittorio in Rome's vibrant Esquilino neighborhood, Bakery Roscioli Pietro is a delightful haven for food lovers. This cozy spot specializes in homemade bread, pizza, and an array of pastries that will tantalize your taste buds. Not only does it offer sweet treats like the renowned brutti ma buoni hazelnut cookies and tozzetti, but it also serves savory options such as the iconic pizza bianca filled with mortadella.
This is one of my favorite places. There’s a wide variety of food, including bread, pizzas, desserts, and beverages. It’s popular with both locals and tourists. The food is made from fresh ingredients and cooked really well. I’ve been here several times. It’s a perfect spot for lunch. It’s just okay for breakfast or a late lunch, though, as many items start to sell out. It’s kind of a “safe zone” place I choose when I don’t know what I feel like eating. Highly recommended.

Great bar and forno!!! The service was very warm and the people as well. Not a tourist trap, as locals prefer it too.. amazing cappuccino, pistachio cornetto and mortadella sandwitch :) it also provides food for lunch at reasonable prices.. The man there ever gave us a tote bag for free, cause we got there very often.. thank you for adding more flavor to our vacation🫶🏼

We were in Rome for a holiday, and we tried to choose as a tourist a "tipical" italian place/bakery where we can get a "tipical" italian breakfast. What can I say.... Everything was delicious, this place is amazing and totally recommended. Staff are very kind and helpful. There were other breakfast places closer to our accommodation, but after our first morning here, we decided to come back for a second time. As tourists, it was a bonus for us to get a glimpse of how Italians have their breakfast (i.e., a quick cornetto at the counter while waiting for the espresso to brew) 😁 (On the second day, we went a little later (around 10:00-11:00 a.m.), by which time most of the pastries had been replaced by lunch items on the counter (as can be seen in the photos))

We went in not sure what to order, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us. They had us try a few traditional Roman bites and even picked out the perfect dishes so we could get a real taste of Rome. Everything was delicious, the prices were great, and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for — warm, local, and full of charm. Such a wonderful experience all around!

Dolce Maniera is a cake shop with a long history in Rome. It's popular amongst Roman students and is always busy after nights out. They have a wide variety of different pastries, cakes, sweets and croissants, and the staff are friendly and average priced. The quality of the cannoli can definitely recommend this shop!
This bakery has quite a few things going for it. Taste, price, friendliness, and options. I just happened upon it when walking towards the metro station. I was so glad I did. $.80 for a croissant with chocolate is a bargain. And a cappuccino will only set you back $1.40. Those are not typically prices you find in a Roman bakery. The chocolate chip ball was something my family went back for more of. The croissant with Nutella is loaded with Nutella And my personal favorite was the strawberry cake. A light fluffy strawberry cream sandwiched in between two layers of cake. And then the staff is super friendly. The second time I went in, one of the workers literally said to me, “you can ask me about any of the things we have for sale.” A gem by the Vatican.

This is still an amazing place. We purchased desserts from here two years ago and had to go again this year. We were initially confused about the location but found out that they had moved. All of the desserts we purchased on two different days were all good. If we come back to Rome again we will come back.

I was asked to submit a review which I was already planning to :). The ladies, at least that's what I saw during my visits, were always friendly. They was patient with our lack of Italian and knowledge on "how to order" here. Within one order I was an expert and ordering like local, esp due to such welcoming gesture. The pastries options were plentiful and at very reasonable prices. I had to double check my receipt to ensure all the items were captured. This was our go to place every morning during our 4 days in Rome. Thank you.

Pasticceria Linari is a beloved neighborhood spot in the Testaccio district of Rome, serving up delicious cakes, pastries, pizza, and sandwiches since 1971. This all-day cafe is known for its homemade cornetti and cakes, drawing crowds in the mornings but offering a quieter atmosphere in the afternoons. Run by sisters Simona and Lenora, this family-owned establishment has been committed to quality and friendly service for nearly 50 years.
One of the BEST pastry places I’ve ever been to! The prices are very good compared to the center of Rome. Matozzo pastry is 2,5€, other little pastries vary from 1,5€-3€. The coffee was also very good! They also have pizza and other salty goods. They work shorter on monday, check the working hours before going.

We came here almost every day during our week-long vacation in Rome. The staff were welcoming, friendly, professional, and attentive. The pastries were excellent! The cappuccino could be better — the milk froth wasn’t among the best I’ve had.

This little pastry/breakfast/ coffee shop was recommended to us by our Airbnb host, Veruska for breakfast. And she could not have been more accurate for a great place to eat. We started our days at this quaint little spot with cappuccinos or lattes, and even the occasional Americano. I don’t even know what we had for breakfast most days, but it was usually some type of a pastry, filled with meat and cheese, and it was always a wonderful breakfast. Not a traditional North American breakfast to be sure, but we loved it. We also stopped in for some pastries, such as cannolis, and even the pastry filled “hotdog” were fantastic for a quick bite while walking around the Testaccio neighborhood we stayed in during our stay in Rome. It took us very little time to figure out how to order and pay, but basically we just followed the locals and how they did things. Sometimes finding a spot to sit would be challenging but a couple mornings we would just walk over to nearby Piazza Testaccio and enjoyed our breakfast sitting on a park bench. Loved every minute of it Thanks for the food, the atmosphere and the service Paul and Andrea Canada

Pasticceria 5 Lune is a small and quaint cake shop located in the tourism-rich Centro Storico district of Rome. The bakery specializes in traditional sweet treats popular in Rome, such as pastries, cakes, and pies. It is not very well known by tourists, which makes it the perfect place to visit if you love sweet baked goods. If you're looking for a savory treat, the bakery also offers snacks such as biscotti and cookies.

You must stop here for pastries, I assure this place is not closed. They have some of the best small pastries you will find in Rome. We went in because of the cakes in the cabinet facing the door and found all the other goodies inside. And it is run by a small family who are so nice.

This is what I wanted from an Italian pastry shop. Came to pick up a variety for breakfast and left highly satisfied. Struggled to communicate with the owner who only spoke Italian (I’m a tourist I know) but he was cheerful and happy to help. Made a tray of about 12 small pastries, which when priced by weight was only 7euros. They were all great. My girlfriend and I inhaled them in about 3 minutes. Walked around the area. Then came back an hour later for another 12.

Nothing fancy, but delicious and the price is right! I was there by 9:40am and it was already a bit picked over. Looks like he’s also having some renovation done on the interior. Prepare to practice your Italian or play a little game of charades. Palmiers were crispy with the perfect level of sweetness.

Lot of Italian pastries and sweets variety. I loved baba the most.Fresh and yummy. They have small sizes so you select different sweets at low price. It's good when when you want to dry different things but same time don't want consume big size sweet at once. Very kind lady manages it. Do visit.

Can't give it 3 1/2 stars but that's what it deserves, Location is great but people trying to sell merchandise was annoying. Service mediocre at best and food good but not great. Drinks were good, I recommend the Americano if you're a fan. Had lunch there, wouldn't return for dinner.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do and head to Pompi Tiramisu for an authentic taste of this classic Italian dessert. Known as "il regno del tiramisu" or the king of tiramisu in Rome, Pompi is a local favorite that's frequented by residents looking to bring home a delicious tiramisu for family gatherings. The creamy mascarpone, spongy ladyfingers, and heavenly chocolate make it a standout treat.
Super light tiramisu — definitely worth a visit in Rome! The taste was excellent, with an incredibly light and airy crema that almost melts in your mouth. It felt delicate yet flavorful. Highly recommended! Last but not least — the ice cream was the highlight! Especially the lemon flavor — it was the best I had in Rome. Definitely recommended!
Nida Ö — Google review
I first went to Pompi and tried two tiramisus: the gluten-free and the pistachio. I loved them so much that I went back in the afternoon to try the classic one as well. All three were amazing, but the pistachio was my absolute favorite. Surprisingly, the gluten-free version was even better than the classic, in my opinion. I truly think this is the best tiramisu in Rome. At the counter, I asked if it was halal, and the lady said yes. The fact that they even know what halal means made me very happy, so Muslims can enjoy it with peace of mind.
Senariturk — Google review
I tried Pompi’s Classico tiramisù, and wow—it literally melts in your mouth like a dream. Each bite is creamy heaven, and the dark chocolate bits give that perfect little crunch that makes it irresistible. I honestly could eat the whole thing in one sitting. This isn’t just dessert—it’s pure joy on a spoon. I also tried the pistacchio but my heart belongs to the Classico! 🤩 Absolute perfection.❤️

Pretty nice tiramisu and really fast service. The tiramisu itself wasn’t too sweet nice and light, but the pistachio flavor wasn’t very strong. It’s not very "in your face," which could be good for some and less so for others, but it’s still a nice treat.
K R — Google review
I tried the classic tiramisu, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The flavor was perfectly balanced, not too strong on the coffee, not too creamy or sweet, just right. The portion was generous too, making it a truly satisfying dessert.

We tried the gluten-free tiramisu the classic and we took the pistachio the normal flavour. It was below expectation and overrated.

Absolutely divine tiramisù – a must-visit in Rome! Pompi truly lives up to its reputation as the king of tiramisù. The texture is perfectly creamy, the balance of coffee and cocoa is spot on, and the portion size is generous. I tried the classic version, but the strawberry and pistachio flavors are also exceptional – rich, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The shop is well-organized, service is fast, and staff are friendly even during busy hours. It’s the ideal stop after sightseeing or for a late-night dessert craving. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. Whether you’re a tiramisù lover or just want to try the best in town, Pompi won’t disappoint. Highly recommended!

I can definitely say that they have one of the best pizza I have ever had in my life! I know it sounds very promising but the taste of their pizza bread is very delicious. The only downside is that I find the price is relatively high for pizza as they go by weight so if you have cheese or soggy veggie, you’re prepared to pay higher price. My husband and I had a small slice of pizza each and it cost us €10. Having said that, I still give 5 star as they’re absolutely yummy and they claim that they use bio flour.

I have paid 10€ for 1 pancake, 3 3 dollops of whipped cream and 3 strawberries cutted in pieces and thrown on the pancake. Also the food itself was absolutely disgusting. After we ate it, we waited for 2 hours for someone to come to our table and take empty plates. Unfortunately no one came so we just sat there with those dirty plates. Also the restaurant charges extra 1.5€ per person for the service, which is an absolute joke if we assume every aspect of it. Not recommending.

Pathetic Service, Rude Staff, and Overt Racism
One of the worst service experiences I’ve had in a long time. The main staff were cold, smug, and passive-aggressive we felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in. A few waiters were fine, but the overall attitude was hostile. The Americano I ordered tasted like leftover rinse water from the espresso machine. Only after ordering a second one did I get a normal cup of coffee so that definitely felt intentional. Pastries looked decent but were okay. We were quiet, respectful, and did nothing to warrant the dismissive treatment — but we were clearly treated differently from others around us. The racism and smugness was not subtle. And before you reply with the usual, “our staff are highly trained and would never...” please don’t. This wasn’t imagined. The difference in service was obvious. I am not one to cry racism at the drop of a hat. Wouldn’t return. Wouldn’t recommend.

Il Gianfornaio is a great spot for an aperitivo with amazing breads, pizzas of all flavors and savory tarts. It's open all day and is perfect for a casual breakfast, lunch or snack in between.
I stumbled upon this place by chance while strolling through the neighborhood. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the inviting aroma of fresh coffee and pizza – giving that classic Italian feeling. Here, pizzas are offered by weight, allowing you to choose the exact amount you desire. They were exceptionally tasty, offered a wide variety, and were very reasonably priced. In addition to the savory options, there is also a rich display of sweet temptations, perfect for a pleasant afternoon break or dessert.

Great place, great food. If you like variety of pizza and Italian desserts, come here. Coffee is acceptable. I love their muffins and cakes. Super moist, tasty and not overly sweet. The pizza variety is plenty for you to choose from and they sell by weight! Select from the variety on display and they will ask you how large a slice you want!! Love this selling concept. I simply order the portion I want! No over eating or wastage. Same for the cakes which is also sold by weight. I came back to this place the following day for lunch to try out their pasta and variety of cooked dishes but the queue was too long for me to wait! I suggest to visit during off peak hours to receive the best service and not queue for a long time.

Absolutely sumptuous pizza. We found this spot the last time we were in Rome and made it our hang out during the trip. This visit, we stayed across the river, but still made the trip (a 45 minute walk in the heat) for this pizza. That’s how you know I’m serious about it. I wouldn’t even say that I like pizza, but this one…oh, she’s juicy. Ask the person at the counter to use their special pizza scissors to cut you a piece as big as you want, grab an espresso, and roll a ciggy (it’s Europe, yolo). Live your best life. Also grab a sweet treat while you’re there. You won’t be sorry!

Ignore all the negative reviews . The stuff is just sometimes under pressure with too many customers coming in, but they handling it as correctly as they can. Patience is a rewarding virtue. The bakery is awesome with fresh products produced in daily basis with a vast variety of choices in both salty and sweet snacks and plates.

The bakery Giselda is a popular spot for patisserie and coffee, as well as charcuterie, aperitifs and lunch dishes. The cafe has industrial chic decor and offers six lunch specials that span Italian classics with attention to detail. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful.
This cafe has a great range of Italian food and drinks. We had very delicious pastries, and ham and cheese pizza. The cafe latte was also perfect. We were served by a very friendly staff Michael who chatted with us while we enjoyed the delicious food and drinks. He speaks perfect English and takes interest in your travel story. His colleague Daniel is also very friendly and funny. We enjoyed their happy service very much!

Oh my god. Everything we tasted was delicious! Super fresh bread, the pastries were on point. Basically the best cappuccino I’ve had on my 4 days trip to Rome (I have had atleast 4 cappuccinos from different places) everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
Lina B — Google review
When I was in Rome, this was my go to breakfast/lunch place! First of all, the pizza was fantastic! So many options, and all of them were phenomenal! And then, there’s the pastries! Mamma Mia!! So good! The lobster claws and the fruit tarts were out of this world! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome!
Joe L — Google review
Very busy cafe/bakery and for a good reason. I should have taken more presentable photos. Outside pavement seating area and insides tables and bar/high chairs seating areas. Good quality food and the cappuccino we had was good too. There's no more I can say as we were only looking for a quick bite and a good coffee and it did just that. Well done 👏
Stefan S — Google review
Nice bar/cafe if you’re looking to buy authentic, fresh pastries or cut meets. The service was fast and mostly friendly, the coffee reached Italy quality. I recommend taking the fruit tart, it has fresh fruit on it and they didn’t overcompensate with the sweetness to hide any lack of quality.
Sára B — Google review
Very tasty coffee, pastries, and sandwiches at good prices (especially compared to the tourist-oriented spots around Trastevere). We returned multiple times. I wish I had a spot like this in my town. Small downside is the bathroom, which is only accessible via a very narrow spiral staircase, with the door not lockable and cleanliness, which could be improved.
Tobias — Google review
My Wife and I tried this place and the place across the street. It baffles me how this is rated lower. This was the perfect breakfast experience and the staff was incredibly nice. Id give more stars if I could.

I came here everyday whilst visiting Roma recently. The coffee, pastries, and pizza was all freshly baked and tasted great! Very good reasonable prices too. All the staff are very helpful and nice.

Il Fornaio is a renowned Italian restaurant with 17 locations in California and two in Las Vegas, offering an authentic Italian dining experience. The menu features traditional dishes like fusilloni, tagliatelle bolognese, branzino al limone, and minestrone prepared using classic Italian cooking techniques. The restaurant also boasts an award-winning wine list with Tuscan favorites like Chianti Classico to complement the meals.
Amazing collection of food that is unique to Italy and in particular Roma. We tried few things and loved everything we tried. We thought we should have bought more of it but given we were traveling through many cities and countries we had no choice but I will recommend this shop. The staff was nice and very helpful. We tried some things before we bought them. Price is very reasonable and quality is guaranteed.

Cute little sandwich establishment. Ingredients quality and service was quick. Got mortadella sandwiches and all were good. Could have used another little flavoring in it to make better but overall yummy. Recommend
Michele G — Google review
We stumbled upon this cute little Italian spot in Rome, and I’m so glad we did. My boyfriend and I were welcomed by the kindest man, who not only made us feel right at home but also gave us the best recommendations. The mortadella slice pizza was hands down the best I’ve ever had perfectly crisp, flavorful, and absolutely addictive with the nutty pistachios. The cozy, charming vibe made it feel more like we were dining at a friend’s home than in a restaurant. If you’re in Rome, don’t miss it!
Maysa G — Google review
What an amazing bakery! The variety here is incredible — from nutty tarts and fruit pastries to beautifully made cannoli and cookies, everything looks and tastes fresh and delicious. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients in every bite. The staff are friendly, quick, and make you feel welcome right away. Everything is neatly presented and constantly refreshed, which makes it even more tempting to try a little bit of everything. Definitely one of the best bakeries we found — perfect mix of flavor, freshness, and variety!

We stumbled upon this cute bakery while walking from the bus stop to another bakery. The window display caught my attention and i said, "Well, why not give it a try". This place become one of the best place i had during my Italy visit earlier this month. The staff is friendly, and when we stepped in, no one is dining in the bakery and we looked like we were lost, she immediately said to us we can choose and dine in and offered us coffee too (its breakfast time btw). We choose maritozzo and some tomato & mozzarella focaccia/pizza, and that was my dearest regret. I regret of not trying other things like sfogliatelle or cannoli they have. The pizza is great! I will definitely come back if i had a chance to return to Rome someday.

The Cannolo Pistacchio was one of the best pastries I have ever eaten. When in Rome, you absolutely must try it ! I think about it all the time.

Pasticceria Andreotti is a popular and stylish cake shop that's been in business since 1931. Offering coffee, cocktails, light lunches, pastries, and even gelato, the spot is well known among Ostiense residents for its delicious cakes and pastries. With an old-school snapshot of the Andreotti family revealing its historical roots, this bakery and cafe is a great place to stop by for a quick snack or coffee on your way to work.
This place was close to Airbnb and we gave a try. There are many types or salty and sweet food and they are fresh and really tasty. The staff is super kind and helping . One lady helped us with her recommendations and they were unforgettable. The prices are reasonable. Recommended

Definitely 💯 recommended. Been there twice on my trip to Rome and it was delicious, fresh bread, all of them, salty and sweet, staff were nice 👍. Depending the hours can be a little bit crowded but definitely worth the price and taste

Classic Roman cafe and patisserie with gelato. My gelato was cold, creamy and lemony with the crunch of some pinenuts. The cherry and ricotta tart was sharp, creamy and delicious. And the Apricot juice was very cooling on a hot Roman day The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful - lovely people and a great experience. Recommended
Patrick C — Google review
Beautiful Pasticceria with nice service and quality. I’ve traveled to Rome quite a few times during the last couple of years. And I always eat my breakfast and sometimes my aperitif at this pasticceria. I have never experienced an unfriendly service or different prices. And I have never experienced being treated different (as a tourist). So I cannot agree with the bad recommendations in here. In fact, it is a beautiful family owned nice place with amazing quality in food. And I’ve seen a lot, trust me! Big recommendation!

We loved this cafe! Their delicious sfogliatella and coffee were a real treat. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Especially the lovely lady at the counter was full of energy, delivering the best customer service and she even treated us to free pastries! We left feeling really happy and cared for. Highly recommended!

Bar as they call it here in Italy. Not sure if they like Americans, one server behind the counter was snappy to my friend. But the pastries were delicious.

Amazing bakery and café! A must-visit when you’re in Rome — everything looks and tastes incredible. They also serve great lunch options. We came here every single day during our trip just to try something new. The croissants are the best I’ve ever had!

Gran Caffè La Caffettiera is an elegant café exuding vintage charm with its dark-wood panels, floral wallpaper, and brass mirrors. The baristas skillfully prepare traditional Neapolitan coffee such as cappuccino and espresso. Visitors can also enjoy light meals and delectable Neapolitan desserts. It's a great spot for breakfast near Fontana di Trevi, offering delicious pastries like sfogliatelle.
The service here is honestly so impressive. We came for breakfast three times. On the second day, we ordered the pizza bread toast with salami, no cheese, and just half a glass of blood orange juice—it was super hearty. The next day, the staff actually remembered our order from the day before. Such amazing attention to detail

We were wondering what exactly to order and the waiter was there to give us a proper advise and extensive explanation of the menu, on top of that, the location is more than perfect, you can enjoy great coctails while watching the impressive Hadrian's temple!

First class service and a great atmosphere. We visited this cafe on consecutive days during our holiday. On the first day we had Tiramisu and coffees and on the second day we had coffees and ice creams. All were really good. We will come here again next time we come to Rome. ❤️

We enjoyed a cup of coffee and tiramisu. Our daughter loved the fruit infusion tea. We will come back for lunch, because we loved the quiet setting (in the back room) amidst busy tourist area.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! There were multiple bugs/flies in my drink and when I told it to the staff they have not even apologized but told me that it was up to me to notice it immediately and that they cannot do anything. They even brought me my bug infested drink back to the table when I sent it back and placed it back in front of me. When I went to take a photo, that is when they came back with another drink which at this point we refused. FYI were sitting inside in the further room, and no bugs were flying or in the area. They also told me that I should be more rational, because how can they know it was not with me that all those bugs entered the drink.
Brick B — Google review
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was too awful to ignore. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. They were curt, borderline aggressive, and seemed completely uninterested in basic hospitality. Any questions we asked were met with eye-rolls or blunt, dismissive replies. As for the food—if you can even call it that—it was abysmal. The eggs were rubbery, overcooked beyond belief, and tasted like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Truly the worst eggs I’ve ever had. The rest of the meal didn’t fare any better: bland, poorly presented, and wildly overpriced for what we received. I left feeling ripped off, unwelcome, and still hungry. There are too many great cafes out there to waste time or money here. Avoid this place at all costs
Evan B — Google review
Best tiramisu in Rome!!! Highly recommend this place! Beautiful and elegant!
Aliona K — Google review
Ran into this place by accident on a walk. From the outside it looks like a regular café but when you walk in, it takes you back a few decades with its vintage tea room ambience. The food was great! The iced tea was the best iced tea I have ever experienced! And homemade too! Staff was extremely nice and available. And they have inclusive/gender neutral bathrooms! Would recommend to anyone just for a snack or even for lunch!
