Park
Nature & Parks
Jackson Park is a charming and elaborate park in Windsor, known for its vast plant collection, lush gardens, and sports facilities. It's also home to the Queen Elizabeth II Garden with stunning garden beds. Adjacent to the South Walkerville neighborhood, it offers a peaceful evening outing with illuminated monuments. The park was obtained in 1929 through the persistence of former mayor Cecil E. Jackson and is considered one of the most beautiful attractions in Windsor.
Jackson Park Review: A Must-Visit Gem in Windsor! I traveled to Windsor specifically to visit Jackson Park, and it exceeded all expectations! This massive, impeccably maintained park is a treasure trove of delights. The park features: Food stalls for a quick bite Breathtaking Christmas decorations Cozy wood fire pits Beautiful swings and playgrounds Unique, picturesque elements Taking a leisurely walk through the park was pure bliss. If you're in Windsor, Jackson Park is an absolute must-visit destination! 5/5 stars!
Aneri T — Google review
This is one of my favorite parks in Windsor, the vast green spaces allow for lots of birds and squirrels to live, and the thick trees are relaxing. Although it is surrounded by two main roads, walking through it will not make you feel noisy. During the Christmas season, Jackson Park also spends much budget on creating delightful light displays for the citizens of Windsor. The downside is that parking is always an issue when you go to view the light show each year. Carpool is recommended for multiple people to go together, or look for possibilities in the parking spaces at the school in the back.
Christopher D — Google review
Went to go see bright lights Windsor in Jackson park. It is amazing! They did such a good job decorating. The only thing that I would say is a negative a bit of snow on the ground would have made it even better. No fault to Windsor for that lol. Highly recommend going!!
Kevin S — Google review
I have always loved going to jackson park since I was a kid and now I get to let my child experience it too. They always have great holiday lights and the mini train is always a kid favourite. Only downside is there isn't enough parking, especially during the lights since they close off the Park parking for vendors so make sure to plan ahead (there's parking across the street - paid parking or at the school beside the park - free) You can also take the windsor city bus to avoid the parking issue.
Brittany S — Google review
Bright lights Windsor is a must visit during the Christmas holidays.Thousands of lights and displays.Lot’s of vendors open at Jackson Park on Fridays and Saturday nights from 5:30 to 10pm.Parking available at Kennedy High School.Highly recommended for the whole family.
Dan C — Google review
Jackson Park is located south of Downtown Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Great place to explore esp in the summertime ~ admire the gorgeous blooms and its colours, people can have their picnic, go for a walk, take photos etc. The beauty of Jackson park comes alive in Dec to early Jan when the park are all lit up for the annual Bright Lights Windsor with thousands of lights and dazzling displays. There's also local vendors that sells food. These festivity draws in lots of people to the park over the holidays. Truly an enjoyable place to trek and you should go!
JoyL R — Google review
This park is beautiful and highly recommend it. In the summer they have an amazing garden, great for pictures or just walking around. Last time I was there we noticed several families having professional pictures taken. In the winter they put on an amazing light display that you can walk around. It is pretty extensive and I was surprised at how nice it was. I added some photos from my recent trip in the summer
John J — Google review
Went there on New Years eve for the light festival they were having. The place was very nicely decorated with lots of lighting. Lots of beautiful attractions to take pictures. Wasn't too busy when we visited. Had bunch of food trucks in the parking space. The washroom was very clean with stocked toiletries. Overall had an amazing time.

Nestled in the heart of the Sandwich community and South Cameron neighborhood, Malden Park spans an impressive 175 acres, offering a delightful escape into nature. This expansive park features a serene pond, winding biking trails—both paved and wood chip-covered—and even a toboggan hill for winter fun. Dog lovers will appreciate the dedicated off-leash area conveniently located near the main parking lot on Malden Road.
Best sunrise after a blast in the night. Enjoyed the place and stayed there for more than 5 hours without any issues. Best place to host parties.
Abin — Google review
Great place for families or nature lovers. Lots of hiking opportunities. The park is nice and kids love it. Options of dirt paths, gravel paths, and concrete paths for those who want to hike at their own preference. Personally, I like some of the dirt paths hidden among the woods at the top of the hill. They're great for birding and enjoying insect life. Given its a nature park, I will say that the mosquitoes are vicious here, especially in the woods to the side of the duck pond. Bring bug spray or enjoy the drier sections of the park instead. Also, goose poop is a given. It's nature. Gonna be messy in some ways. I love the new native flower garden up on the new observation platform. It both looks beautiful and offers native flowers for our native wildlife to benefit from. Heads up those with dogs and kids who may run through the brush--there are ticks out. Kid did bring one home on him. So be aware! I'd give 5 stars, because I love nature and I expect those things from nature, but the mosquitoes and ticks should be made aware of for other folks.

Visitor center is a wonderful place for wedding. Had seen so many weddings there. We went for a Chinese gathering and eat all kinds of dumplings. Environment was good and cleaned, large enough for all kinds of activities. The most recommended park for BBQ in Windsor.
COCO Z — Google review
First visit in winter time and I was very surprised by the different areas we could go with our 3 kids. There was a small, medium and bigger sized hill for more advanced sledders. The playground was easy to navigate with snow. Family friendly environment with lots of parking.
Jonathan A — Google review
Pleasant relaxing place to take the family. Nice observation area built to view the Gordie Howe bridge. It's a bit of a hike to get there, About 700m, most of it up hill, but great view.
Bruce — Google review
This 175 -acre park is a must visit.A new observation area (Nov 2023) features benches, secure railings and complimentary binoculars. Many bike trails and paved walking paths.Great place to visit all seasons.
Dan C — Google review
Very nice place with amazing trails for walking and cycling with very nice views. A lot of barbecues available, and there is a nice playgound, the washrooms are fairly ok. A very nice place to spend a day in the nature and enjoy the views and the wild life. Also there is a off leash dog area.
Bilal A — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful. Malden park has walking nature trails, multiple bike trails including off road dirt trails. Malden hill provides an amazing view of Detroit Downtown across the river. Has multiple parking spaces and sitting benches if needed. Lots of people doing various activities and views of beautiful sunrise and sunsets.

Dieppe Gardens, located in Windsor, is a picturesque riverfront park featuring a pond, waterfall, and beautifully manicured gardens. Visitors can enjoy the stunning view of the Detroit Skyline across the river while strolling among blossoms and blooms during summertime. The park also includes memorials to soldiers who lost their lives in World War II. With its convenient location and impressive views, Dieppe Gardens is an ideal spot for a romantic walk or a leisurely picnic by the waterfront.
Nice spot with riverview walk and it gets really beautiful at night especially when the high rise buildings at Detroit gets lighted up. Parking is a bit tight. Beautiful spot especially for evening walks!!
Cherry V — Google review
The park is clean and feels safe during the day. Sometimes there are events. The day I went there was a Coast Guard ship to look at! There is a small park for children, with nearby benches so you can keep an eye on them. Great place to rollerblade, ride your bike, jog or walk your dog. Definitely worth a stroll.
Tiny B — Google review
Best place to view the Ford Fireworks! Such a beautiful spot to enjoy walking, or to sit and reflect/read a book, year round.
Brenda R — Google review
Very awesome park and gardens right on the Windsor riverfront. There's plenty of parking here for everyone; and the trails lead kilometres both ways. There's many memorials and plaques at tis section of the park and gardens.
Mat B — Google review
This was such a peaceful and beautiful place to hang out in the morning. Seeing people exercising and families doing a family workout or walk was great I really enjoyed seeing older people fishing and talking to each other. Some came with their bicycles.
Diane J — Google review
Beautiful river front! The gardens are well maintained. The sidewalks and running/ biking paths were also well maintained. The kids were fishing over the railings and all were having a great time. Also seen police pateoling on bikes which made us feel safe. Bathrooms were clean and also well maintained!
Sherri-lynn R — Google review
Just go! My husband and I went to Windsor for a date and ended up at a restaurant across from Dieppe Gardens. Who doesn't want to see a beautiful garden, riverfront, and sun setting. I know they have restrooms, but I did not go in. I was just stuck admiring the beauty and cleanliness of the area.
Ruth A — Google review
Dieppe gardens is nice, it's part of the river walk. The view of Detroit is iconic of the GM buildings and historical landmarks along Windsor. The area is paid parking and often very busy with people working downtown and those traveling. In evenings and weekends it's a busy place for people to meet up at their vehicle also a busy area for Pokemkn Go players.

Gardens
Coventry Gardens is a well-known and popular tourist destination located on the banks of the Detroit River. It was created as a place for leisure, amusement, and civic pride. The gardens feature vibrant flowers, patios for summertime activities like concerts, and the unique Charlie Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain - the only global floating fountain in existence. This carefully cultivated green space offers stunning views, topiaries, hedges, statues, flowered walkways, and water fountains.
Very neat park, with plenty of flowers, and shrubs to see on various levels. There's many well cut shrubs too in different animals shapes. The trail still leads fairly far, but eventually closes off. There's a parking lot with washrooms and ice cream shop.
Mat B — Google review
I love this garden. On all of riverside drive I find they have the most flowers and beautiful views. I just love seeing all the tulips planted here early spring. The river side ice cream place in Coventry gardens is fantastic too, who wouldn't love a nice water side stroll with some ice cream. There's always a line but it's worth the wait.
Erin I — Google review
Gorgeous place to visit. Ice cream available for the kiddos. The only downside to it is that there is no more than like few parking lots, so good luck getting a parking lot. And the peace fountain for which this park is famous for was not in order for a while now.
Sla L — Google review
Visited last weekend got some beautiful 🌷 tulips views and recommended for those who want relax with nature walk
Vish W — Google review
Beautiful and well thought out garden beds and topiaries. Saw many family's and people's pets taking a stroll. Good for photo-ops as I've seen many wedding parties stop to take photos. Ice cream and washrooms at entrance by Pilette
Deanna W — Google review
A lovely riverside park and well taken care of with many beautiful flowers and a lots of rest bench. I have to say it is much more beautiful than the one across the river. lol
Ying T — Google review
A very picturesque park area, it's definitely a great place to take a walk with your family, friends, and dogs (especially in the summer where they've really gone all out and the flowers are in full bloom with not a weed in sight on the beds). Great place with a ping pong area and plenty of park benches with shade from the trees. Definitely a good place to have a picnic. Parking is free and there's a lot of garbage cans to throw out your garbage. The flowers, like the sunflowers, hydrangeas, lily, hedges, etc. are great backgrounds to take a picture with other than the fountain. Would definitely come back, maybe in the winter or fall to have a different experience walking in the park!
Monique C — Google review
Very nice place on the river side with amazing scenery and lots of green, benches suitable for picnics, the trees provide very nice shade, great place to take your kids of all ages and enjoy spending great time with them. Parking spaces are available and free, but they are limited so finding a parking spot might be a challenge. There is a small shop that sells very tasty ice cream as well.

Sand Point Beach is a small but enjoyable spot, especially in the evenings for its scenic views. While lacking nearby restaurants, there's a good ice cream parlor and hiking spots close by. The beach itself is pleasant, although some visitors note that maintenance could be improved for cleanliness. Despite this, it's a great place to relax and take photos, particularly during summer or after snowfall when the lake freezes. Families with children can also enjoy the play area nearby.
This is probably the only beach in windsor where you can swim. It has beach on both sides and a platform with chairs in the middle, even has a changing room and washroom in summer. There are plenty of draft wood and the beach is also not raked to remove some of the spiky stuffs in sand. On season, plenty of people, ice cream available close too, great breeze and a chance for swimming. Parking lot next door is free too. I’d say “Anakin Skywalker” may like this place as it has a lot of younger people and not too much sand.
Mugdho A — Google review
Pretty beach! Buuuut... I didn't see any pic of this sign in google maps 😭 so I came with intention of swimming, but unfortunately I not brave enough after I read this. Free parking and cute ducks 🦆

We spent an afternoon enjoying the weather, the lake so called the beach and the food and beverages. Really a great place to sit back and just relax. A good spot for taking amazing photos. Whenever you visit please carry water and food as there are no stores and restaurants nearby. Must visit during summer times and after snowfall as the lake freezes.

Awesome beach in the town, I was their with my Friends and we had a lot of fun. Check the weather and have a sun bath with nice cold water... The park is great for Children to play near to sand point beach. I will definitely recommend this to every person visiting windsor, Ontario.

Kids had fun in the sun, playing on the beach, and play area. Water was really choppy, lots of seaweed, and probably not the cleanest on the day we went. Lifeguard was on duty, but flag was yellow. Not too busy. Still had a great time with the kids.

Loved the view at the riverfront! we get to encounter lots of doves and geese. Plus the beautiful view of the river and downtown Detroit
Jennifer F — Google review
The views are amazing as well as the ample parking that is made available. The ability to walk and take a stroll alongside the riverfront is relaxing. However, the people who don't pick up after their pets are disappointing and ruin the beauty of moment.
Gurvinder S — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing: It has a great view of the Detroit waterline and GMC headquarters. You can enjoy walking, running, biking and rollerblading. I was staying at Best Western Waterfront Hotel and I went for a long walk early in the morning, before going to work. And it was gorgeous. It was calm and quiet and the weather was really nice, too.

I was at the National Urban Agriculture Conference 2024. We was downtown Detroit at the Renaissance in the Marriott. I had an awesome time meeting people from out of town. They served us delicious food. We receive a lot of resources. We had greet speakers. Everyone I talked to loved the conference.
Loretta P — Google review
Beautiful spot in Windsor. Perfect view of the Detroit skyline. A long stretch of a walk but most satisfying. Place is pretty calm and not crowded when we visited but locals say that it gets busy prior to sunset as it looks like a nice place to watch it. Lots of spots/attractions along the stretch and perfect view if the Ambassador Bridge as well.
Dindo D — Google review
Was one of my favorite hangout place, it's great for morning run or a causal evening walk. I love the sunset by the Ambassador's bridge, the riverfront is well maintained even in winter. The only thing I don't like is even though it is no smoke zone, people still smoke cigarettes and weed making it unpleasant for others .
Sree C — Google review
It always gives me pleasure to be here with my fur baby. The sight and stroll is something I look forward to every time. The river, the downtown Detroit and of course the trail along the river are just some of the things you will definitely enjoy. It’s like hitting three birds with one stone.

Riverside in general a great place to relax, take a walk, jogging etc. there are many creative monuments. It’s very silent at night and it’s a great place to watch sunset, especially from the deck under the bridge.

Assumption Park is a historic location, home to the first Roman Catholic Parish and the Windsor Sculpture Park. It also features the Roy Battagello Riverwalk, a popular walking and cycling path. Visitors can enjoy peaceful moments admiring sculptures by artists from around the world while taking in scenic views of Detroit and Windsor. The park's limited network connectivity encourages genuine connections with friends and nature.
Love the sculptures and the river walk scenery. The parking is convenient and lots of benches. Folks fish, take pics and walk/run .Very chill ,interesting ,creative space.

Small open park right by the Ambassador bridge and Windsor Sculpture Park. There's a small memorial here, and some of the contemporary sculptures start on this side of Riverside Dr.
Mat B — Google review
I love walking down at Assumption park in the day time. Unfortunately it doesnt feel the safest at night as there is only lighting on the restroom buildings along to the path. It's a great view of Detroit the Ambassador bridge and as far east as you can see. This is a popular place for people to walk, skate, bike and many people fish especially in the spring and summer. There are oversized sculptures along the path. There is also excessive amounts of geese droppings so dont wear new sneakers for your walk!

Reaume Park in Detroit offers a serene and picturesque setting, with a stunning view of the city skyline. Beautiful park for a relaxing stroll with the water on one side and gardens on the other, particularly when the flowers are in bloom. You can usually find a parking spot at the entrance, or else park on the street.

I love this park! It’s fantastic to have a park so well taken care of so close to our home. There is so much space to walk, run, or just spend a nice afternoon. I like going to this park with my dog on a leash, with my husband, or by myself. It’s always a pleasant experience. There are sculptures, monuments, a big water fountain (it’s not always on), and a lot more to see and do. There’s also a lot of green space, great for picnics on the grass or on one of the many picnic tables available. On hot days, I recommend the ice cream parlour at the end of the park. There are so many varieties you can pick from! If you’re looking for a park to visit this weekend with your family, Reaume Park is a great one to visit! EDIT: took out the part that I mention scooters and bikes, as it is illegal to bring bikes to this park.

Peace fountain, Detroit skyline ,beautifully grommed gardens and ice-cream at the end of the paths. This park has always been a wonderful place to visit. The walking paths are wide and full of beautifully grommed gardens, many varieties of plants to see and more than 10 are even shaped like animals. The water is always so nice to see and very cool to watch boats, helicopters and freighter transport ships go by. You can look right at the Detroit skyline and see all the buildings. There is also nice plaques to read up about the local history of the area. Go for the walk and really enjoy yourself, sit on a bench or even under the shade of some trees for a picnic.

Bert Weeks Memorial Gardens is a serene and picturesque park known for its curved waterfall and reflective pool, offering a refreshing retreat during the summer months. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, taking in beautiful river views and well-maintained surroundings. The park's tranquil ambiance provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, making it a popular destination for relaxation and rejuvenation.
All the parks along this water front are very nice. One thing we like is that there are usually 4 washrooms open YEAR ROUND!! So you can walk from the Ambassador Bridge to the end and back and know there's "relief" (if needed) along the way!! We'll drive the trip, an hour away, just to walk here. 😊👌🐕👍🚻

This place is very nice. Plenty of spots to take pictures with the beautiful Detroit skyline in the back. There were plenty of benches for you to sit and enjoy the view and take the sun in. There's also a playground where you can let the kids loose. There's a also a tour boat that will take you up and down the river.

I should say that this is the most beautiful part of whole riverfront. There is a children’s play zone nearby as well for families. A small trail way to walk or jogging. The skyline view of Detroit with the sound of fountain is really majestic.
