The Toledo Museum of Art, established in 1901 by Edward Drummond Libbey and Florence Scott Libbey, is a privately-owned, non-profit institution that offers free admission to the public. The museum's main building, designed in Beaux Arts style, celebrated its centennial recently.
Amazing place to visit especially if you're looking for something free to do in the area! There's plenty of amazing pieces in there. (There are pay to see exhibits as well I'd recommend buying the tickets beforehand if you can but the free exhibits were stunning to)

Stopped in rather briefly but we enjoyed what we saw. The staff were very friendly (shoutout to Reggie) and we loved the collection on the East side. We arrived shortly after they opened on Sunday and only a few others were there. Love that the lot and museum were free. Definitely would come back again.
Nicole R — Google review
Hello future tourist… I recommend this museum. From start to finish the staff is very welcoming. Is great to take the family, friends, or simply go on a date with your significant other. The atmosphere is very clean and organized. I did enjoy that every so often they have new exhibits to view. They also have an area for special events one can have. That was pretty neat too. Now, across from the museum they have Glass Pavilion . They have neat glass art displays. Also, you could see staff members working on new glass projects. I really enjoyed my experience. I hope you like it as much as I did.
Marie V — Google review
This museum is beautiful & all of the art there is as well. I love how knowledgeable the staff there is, how everything is set up & the fact that they have interactive activities for the whole family, especially the kids. If you like art, like learning about new things, & don't mind walking I would recommend you to go check it out.
Van S — Google review
Went here solo, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed the total experience. Free parking and admission, lovely well rounded collection, beautiful building and grounds with a pleasant and helpful staff. Bonus: had the place mostly to myself. Thanks Toledo!
Andrew V — Google review
The museum is beautiful and has a wide variety of art to check out. The staff were super friendly too. One offered to take a photo of our group and another told us a bit of background information about a piece we found interesting. Overall, it was a great experience, and it's awesome that admission is free!
Katlyn K — Google review
We had a great afternoon looking at all the art. I would like to take my grandson this winter. There is a really nice area for children.
Michelle — Google review
I have no reservations about recommending the Toledo Museum of Art! The galleries are stunning, both in their architecture and in their collections. This high quality museum hosts exhibitions continually throughout the year, and they are always worth it! General admission is free, and parking is affordable (free for UT students). It’s easy if you just want to go for an hour or spend a half day getting lost in the maze of sculptures and paintings. Don’t miss the exterior sculpture garden and the glass pavilion!

Garden
The Toledo Botanical Garden is a vast, sprawling garden filled with plants and sculptures. The gardens are well-maintained and popular with visitors, who can learn about horticulture techniques and explore the artworks and sculptures on display. In the summertime, there's also a music festival and evening jazz shows.
We visited on a Sunday late afternoon in mid-April 2025. We parked in the artist village. There were plenty of spots but there were also a lot more people here than we expected. There is a large playground area with many kids playing in it. Our kids played for a little bit but I think it was a bit crowded for them. We explored this area which has a ton of things to look at and points of interest. We walked over to the hosta area and then the gardens. We did then make a small loop south into the main part of the park to see at some of the great sculptures. We had a lot of fun just walking and talking and it was much less crowded in the rest of the gardens. If we were in the area we would definitely visit again and do some of the other trails. Also because it was mid-April many of the plants were dormant and not out yet. I can imagine it be much more interesting in just a month or so. Next time we would probably bring some food and actually do a full picnic. Plan to spend over an hour here if you really wanted to do a good job exploring.

🌿 Absolutely Worth the Visit We’re from Indiana and had been really looking forward to checking out this botanical garden. It was completely worth the trip. It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place to walk around and enjoy nature. What makes it even better is that it’s not commercialized at all. No entry fee, no pressure to spend money, just a well-kept, relaxing space open to everyone. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
Joanna A — Google review
We enjoyed our visit here to stretch our legs and relax on a roadtrip, and let the kids play. The gardens were beautiful and the natural play area was very nice. It's not as huge as others, but it's free and very peaceful!
Nelson M — Google review
Wow! What a beautiful park. We stopped in expecting just a small garden and it’s a large and beautiful park full of pretty trees and flowers. It was especially nice to see it in the fall with the fall foliage. Definitely worth the stop.
Donetta D — Google review
We love coming here! I try to bring my family a few times a year. The playground is awesome, although with how crowded it can get, it would be nice to have a 2nd play area. Luckily, my kids also love walking around the trails and checking out the beauty all around. There are many places to stop and rest along the trails. This is a place for anyone and everyone of any age. You can choose to end your walk early or continue on to open fields. Great for letting the kids run around. You may notice a special couple of trees nearby, along with all of the gorgeous plants and views. I won't go into too much without giving everything away, this is just one place you'll have to check out. Did I mention that it's completely free to enter?
Jessica D — Google review
Was our first time here, and we really enjoyed walking. Breathing fresh air + calm spot. Highly recommended as a relaxing spot, photo session and also important to mention dogs are not allowed.
Edmundo G — Google review
The Botanical Garden has very nice walking paths (and benches), and had a lot more flowers than we expected for late September. Their Dahlia garden was in full bloom with some spectacular flowers. There are several small gardens to explore, with art installations to enjoy.
Burney B — Google review
Beautiful place to visit the throughout the year, the trees and flowers look different through the seasons. Several art pieces located through the gardens make for wonderful photo opportunities.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Toledo, overlooking the scenic Maumee River, Imagination Station is a vibrant 80,000-square-foot science museum that captivates over 200,000 visitors each year. This hands-on educational haven boasts eight distinct Learning Worlds and an array of interactive experiences including a thrilling 3-D simulator theater and unique attractions like the Gravity Room and High Wire Cycle.
Our girl scout troop came and had a wonderful time. Some of the kids pushed their limits on the wire bike. Our Littles that came along enjoyed the water room the most. The t-rex movie was great our boys loved the movie. The marble show was so cool. We watched it more than once. They have created marble lovers for life.
Valerie M — Google review
Spread out so even with bugs groups it isn’t bad. Parking is a pain. Street parking and 2 hour limit. Have to go out and add more. The outdoor part was closed for renovation. Kids loved the airplane you can drive, water station and hurricane simulator. The bike ride would have been fun but my daughter was a hair too short. They also loved the battle bots you could make .
Unscriptedmomlife — Google review
What a fun and interesting place to take children and to learn as an adult as well. So many wonderful things to see and do. Very interactive. They even have a movie theater inside as well as a snack bar. We saw the movie Wild Ohio that the Ohio Department of Natural Resources had produced to showcase many wonderful places in Ohio.
Joey S — Google review
I had a very interesting and fun experience. It’s a very educational and has different stuff for different ages. The membership is well worth getting. My favorite part was the simulation ride. I’m definitely coming back again.
Wendy A — Google review
Passing through Toledo on a road trip we stopped here to break of the ride and we were beyond pleasantly surprised. Parking was a cinch and cost $2 for 2 hours right outside on Main Street and our girls ages loved all the hands on activities. We had to drag them out of there as they didn’t want to leave. Thank you, Imagination Station!
Andrew D — Google review
We had an amazing time here! It’s the perfect mix of fun and learning for both kids and adults. The exhibits are hands-on and really engaging.
S — Google review
Grandkids enjoyed this stop. It rained so this was plan B since our outdoor activities were ruined. Several hands on exhibits were not working. The place was very busy. They do offer many activities for a lot of different ages and interest.
Debbie L — Google review
We had an awesome Saturday at Imagination Station in Toledo, Ohio! The kids loved the hands on science exhibits, especially the high wire bike and water play area. It was fun, educational, and perfect for the whole family. Definitely a must visit spot for curious minds!

Nature & Parks
Wildwood Preserve Metropark, formerly the estate of the Stranahan family, founders of Champion Spark Plug Company, is a 493-acre wildlife habitat and recreational area. It features a historic manor house with tours and cultural events. The park boasts natural beauty and various attractions such as the Ellen Biddle Shipman Garden, Oak Grove School House, children's playground, fit park, walking/hiking trails, and bike trails.
Really nice park with many different trails and mostly covered with trees so ideal for warm summer days to cool off. With the breeze and a cooler climate in the woods. Also nice resting areas and lots of playgrounds. They also have tours for the mansion. Nice flowered around the buildings. And amazing and clean toilets.
Jan S — Google review
You might see me way out there with bright cheap orange sunglasses on. Way out in the bushes. As being in the military has taught. "Sometimes you need to make your own calm." Find yours and if your looking for a great walking normal trails with family-friendly areas you are in luck. And a calisthenics area. I see you Toledo Metro. Lets go.

A gem of a park right in the heart of Toledo! This park to me—as well as many others, I’m sure—is a sacred third space where you can go for a long walk in the woods, stroll through a garden, bask in the son, and commune with nature. It’s incredible how removed from the urban sprawl you can feel while you’re here, which is a testament to both the size of the property as well as the quality of the maintenance that is always top tier. It’s places like Wildwood that make me proud to live in Toledo!
Adam K — Google review
Well maintained trails. Beautifully landscaped around the visitor center. I don't usually recommend public restrooms but it is impressive how the restrooms in the former stable have been made to look like a stable. The window on wildlife today provided viewing of two turkeys who stopped by for a free lunch. Rough blazing star beginning to bloom on the Grasslands Trail. Joe pye weed and ironweed in bloom along the Meadows Loop. (August 21, 2025)
Nancy R — Google review
The park is great the trails are wonderful... I got a lot of great pictures of the bird sanctuary, got to see a wild turkey that was up close and personal the new boardwalk that they replaced from the rotten one walked on that for quite a while it was a wonderful experience all the way around
Laura — Google review
Fantastic biking and hiking with smooth paths and shaded with tree canopies. Historic buildings add interest. Check out the Barn Wildlife Viewing and the One Room Schoolhouse. Exceeded expectations 💙
Kim A — Google review
Very nice park with wonderful trails throughout. Saw a lot of deer. Join the metroparks trail challenge and get your stickers and hiking stick here as well.
Jennifer W — Google review
Grew up around here and never knew this Masion was open to the public and they decorate it for Christmas and and Halloween. The best part is , its totally free. Very family-friendly and they do an amazing job too. There is a playground past the stables and ample parking, just a short walk around to the front main entrance. I was there for Halloween with my kids and grandkids and it was awesome!

One of the nicest, well kept and friendly museum I have visited in years. So much of the history of Toledo’s Fire Departments are located here and are well kept. The gentlemen that will escort you around are very knowledgeable and have plenty to explain. It’s well worth the stop! PLEASE, they work off donations, so drop a bill or two in the box.

If you have small children who love ❤️ to see fire trucks 🚒, lights and sirens 🚨 going down the street then this museum is the place to visit. There is two floors with firemen artifacts. This museum has several firetrucks on the 1st floor. To answer any questions about the firetrucks. NO 🚫 you cannot sit, climb, or touch any of the trucks. Also on the 1st floor, there is a wall that has several types of fire and police alarms 🔔, a display that consist of several fire helmets ⛑️, a rack with several firemen coats, a display of firemen badges, and display of hose nozzles. There is a display that shows several fire recuse of brave firefighters saving lives, a display showing the integration of Black Americans firemen 🚒, and a plague of all the firefighters who passed away while in the line of duty. The second floor is a learning experience floor. The Fire Safety and Education Center allow children and adults to actually role play fire 🔥 encounter in a house 🏠. The training is under the supervision of the Fire Prevention Bureau. Children are taught what to do if they are ever in a fire 🔥 situation such as roll out of bed 🛌, keep low to the floor in case of smoke and feel the door🚪with the back of your hand. When everyone has been trained on all the fire safety rules, it is now time to slide down the fire pole. Welcome to the end of your tour 😁.
Truth M — Google review
Very interesting to look around and see the old fire engines. The staff provides great information on the artifacts with some of them who have really worked here when this was a functional fire station. The entry is free but you can make a donation.
Debjyoti D — Google review

Great Museum in Town. I love cop shows, but getting to see a piece of our History in Toledo, Ohio is pretty amazing seeing some of the artifacts that the police department have kept over the years is quite impressive. I'm a proud supporter of The TPD Museum!

This was my first time going here. I honestly never saw it back there until they posted signs for an event. Once I went in it was amazing. So many facts. Library
The Main Library - Toledo Lucas County Public Library is a downtown landmark that has been welcoming visitors since 1940. It offers a wide range of free classes and special programs for preschoolers to teens, including storytimes, craft sessions, and educational workshops. The children's library features an aquarium, life-sized characters like Sheep in a Jeep and Cat in the Hat, as well as fun rooms to explore. Additionally, there is a special toddler room with toys and picture books.
I was recommended here for my passport after the USPS wouldn’t do mine. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful! I’m not originally from Ohio and moved here two years ago, so I was unfamiliar with the library, as to which everyone helped me navigate not only the library, but the tools they offered too. The passport lady, whose name I believe is Sidnee, was amazing! She carefully went over my documents, double-checked everything, and did photocopies for me for my birth certificate since it gets mailed out. She was very kind in the whole process, especially when she let me decide if I liked my passport picture. Overall, an amazing experience and I recommend coming here for passports… and everything else too!
Hannah R — Google review
A Live at the Library event took place Thursday night starring Pat Byrne in concert. Pat is an Irish immigrant living in Texas making his living as an independent musician. I wasn't sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed my evening! There were about 200 in attendance for this free concert and it was well worth braving the cold to get there. His music style was varied, from love ballads to a sea shanty, and even something a little soulful, if that's the right word. Look him up on YouTube. One of my favorite songs of the evening was "Grey Skies Blue". I missed the title but another great song talked about how "we'll find another way". Other keepers were "Feels Like Living", and a fun little piece about how he "don't have social skills". 🤣 That last one you just can't take it too seriously. Audience favorite was "A Song For Mam" In preparation for tonight's concert I did a little cheating and looked him up on YouTube, but those videos don't seem to do him justice. He was personable and engaging with the audience, and at times almost self-deprecating, and it worked! He drew us in like moths to a flame and we were hooked! It was the fastest 90-minute concert I've ever been to. I'm glad he made the effort to come to Toledo and hope he will consider coming back again...

Love the children's section! Toys, computer games, interactive displays and so many books and reading nooks! It's amazing!

I have a non-resident card for this library and have for some years now. Every time I’ve had to call to renew, staff has been very friendly and helpful. Their digital collection is amazing and, as a fellow librarian, I love getting their newsletters and seeing all the wonderful programs and services they offer to the community! I hope one day I’ll be able to come visit in person. ☺️
Mayonayys — Google review
Highly recommended: This is literally one of the best libraries I have experienced and I have experienced many. You walk in and immediately on the floor they have giant icons that take you to your desired section. There is a key posted to tell you what each icon represents. You simply follow the icons on the floor until you reach where you are going. I really only saw a third of the library because there was so much to take in and remained in the children's section with my son. However, I noticed there are passport services, a café, a gift shop, a rooftop garden and two other floors apart from the children's section. I also noticed a book bicycle. I believe it rides around the city promoting the reading of books and the use of the library. The children's section alone was magical. There were computers set up for educational games, computers for internet use, xbox one (available at information desk), a space for programs, a screen to project onto, including movies, multiple fun places to explore for the children and lots of book themed decorations. They even had half a Cadillac for the Gold Cadillac by Mildred D. Taylor. There was an aquarium that was framed by the story of The Rainbow Fish. Honestly, it was just magical. You must visit even if you are in-town for a half-day. One thing I forgot to mention, the children's centre has free meals at 3pm on weekdays for those under 18. No discrimination. What an amazing program!

I was shocked on how nice and large this library is. The children's area is nice. Three stories high and a large library. I will be making a day trip to this location soon to be able to check it out in more detail. They were allowing our girl scout troops to have a fairy tale ball there.

An awesome collection of books, journals, movies, documentaries, audio books and music CDs. The kids section the 3rd floor is big and packed with various activities. There are many computers around the library that you can use for web browsing or searching the library catalog.

Swan Creek Preserve Metropark is a beautiful, forested park perfect for a day trip from Toledo. The trails provide plenty of opportunities to explore the area and the swinging bridge makes for a fun activity for kids.
Beautiful park. I recommend walking with another person. A creep was there while I was walking with my pup. I ended up calling 911 and a park ranger came before I could even hang up. A good reminder to always keep your eyes open and your head on a swivel!.

The older kids had lots of fun but not the greatest design for toddlers. There was only one toddler swing and it took a long time for my granddaughter's turn.
Jessica C — Google review
Some nice walking trails and a swinging bridge. Most of which are off the red trail. The reason I gave 4 stars is because online the distance of the trails listed didn't let you know you have to start at the beginning of the red trail each time making the other trails pretty short.

Really nice park with paved trails, pavilions and playground. Great break from the city while visiting.
Malinda B — Google review
lovely park with a nice playground, well kept trails, and a very good window on wildlife. but, unfortunately, every time i’m there someone is causing a problem. last time i was there someone was driving their truck through the grass, someone was blasting sexually explicit music next to the playground, and someone else was having an aggressive and angry phone call in the window on wildlife. it’s very unfortunate, because it really is a lovely place. i just wish all the other park-goers were respectful of the rules.

The Maumee Indoor Theater offers a satisfying experience with its two showrooms, one of which features an average-sized stage and comfortable seating with cup holders. The theater also screens movies and has a concession stand offering typical movie snacks. Visitors have enjoyed productions like the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Broadway in Love, praising the live interaction with actors/actresses. Some guests expressed nostalgia for the original ticket booth but appreciated the new seats and friendly staff.
Absolutely love this quaint theatre. It's clean and adequate seating. They have awesome shows. Prices reasonable and seats extremely comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great to go with group of friends after eating out in the many restaurants in Maumee, OH.

Like this little theater, but the show last night was not good at all. That's the only reason I gave any stars at all. Worst tribute band ever! They are supposed to be an Eagles tribute band. 🤮 Don't know what bar you found these guys in, but they should have stayed there. Lead singer was the worst. His voice hurt our ears. Other guys voices were just ok. Keep your mediocre acts out of this venue. Doesn't make me want to go back anytime soon. Years back you got a John Denver tribute band that was exceptionally great! Please try to get more like that or don't bother. Sound system was not sounding so great last night either. Saw at least 4 groups of people leave after only a few songs. After 1 1/2 hours our ears couldn't take anymore. Not sure why we stayed that long.

My favorite theater to watch movies. A lot cheaper than the bigger theaters. They always have a good staff working. Definitely old school vibe there

I went for the first time to see the Lucas county board of DD film festival 2025, because I'm an individual served by the board and it was nice. Only problem is that walkway lights need to be added, so it is easier to see for people who have low vision or are elderly like my Mom, because she was having trouble with navigating the walkway to our seats, that I had to ask for someone to help assist her so she didn't fall because she uses a cane and has trouble with her balance.

Whether we go on the discounted Wild Wednesdays or on a different day, we always enjoy this well maintained theater. Recently they seem to be getting rights to show newer movies earlier and we really enjoy the popcorn bucket!!

Went to see the production of the Rocky Horror picture show. Excellent play. It was so fun. The props were fun. Live interaction with the actors/actresses. A bit worried about covid since we were packed in like sardines. Wish they had more drink selection for the pre reception but it was ok. I loved everyones costumes. Definitely coming back

The preserve features two ponds for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing opportunities for children under 18 years old accompanied by an adult. Visitors can stroll through the woodland area on well-maintained boardwalks with bench seating and explore the diverse flora and fauna along the trails.
Beautiful area! I took my time and was there for roughly 40 minutes. Took the outer most loop that wrapped around all of the ponds and it came out to be just under 1.5 miles. Flat, stone trails with a few boardwalks.

Wonderful little park the trail sizes were absolutely perfect there was a adorable little boardwalk around the water we enjoyed and a really COOL wooden little teepee and some other cool stuff built out of sticks totally worth a stop !!!!!! 💙

This nature preserve was surprisingly fun. There are three trails you can walk on. Almost all of them are the same length, but they aren't too long and are very manageable. We went on the one that went around the larger part of the lake and there were lots of things to look at. Lots of different Flowers and insects to look at. Also, there is a really nice building that has easy access to public restrooms and the bigger rooms can be rented out for parties and what not. Also classes and educational things offered here and we were able to go into one of the classrooms and a bird watching room and saw some really cool birds and were able to take a picture of one of the turtles and a lizard that was there. Overall super nice place to visit for a nice walk and we will be returning soon.

Beautiful preserve! We rented the lodge for my niece's baby shower. Nice to have a refrigerator to keep items cold. We loved the big windows too! Beautiful to look out on fall day. We set up everything ourselves, tables and chairs which was fine. Some chairs are broken and still had crumbs from previous event. Bathroom was not in cleanest shape. Otherwise nice spacious room. Fire place was cozy.

Phenomenal natural park!! 😍 Not great for little babies due to everything they can pick up & put in their mouth, but for any other ages it is a wonderful place to be active. Perfect for kids who need to be active & enjoy lifting, playing, & climbing outdoors. Also it has a really cool interactive area inside. Loved it! Be on the lookout for poison ivy though!

Promenade Park, located in downtown Toledo along 400 Water Street, offers a picturesque waterside experience with its grassy areas, benches, and pavilion. The park has been revitalized by Promedica and now features a splash pad, art installations, and an amphitheater overlooking the Maumee River. Throughout the summer, visitors can enjoy various events such as concerts and a summer movie series hosted by Promedica. Additionally, the park hosts outdoor musical concerts that attract large crowds.
This park is always lit up throughout the year. During Christmas, it’s adorned with lights, while in the summer, the water fountain is turned on for the kids. Occasionally, concerts are held here. It’s a great place to walk and explore the city. I have better photos and videos of the park, but I don’t have them right now. ❤️

Cinemark Franklin Park 16 and XD is a chain of movie theaters with multiple screens, stadium seats, and self-service ticketing kiosks. They offer the Summer Movie Clubhouse with 8 weeks of kid-approved movies at a low price per ticket. The theater is known for its cleanliness, fairly new equipment, and friendly staff. Some customers have expressed concerns about the rating scale of previews not matching the chosen movie's rating but overall appreciate the clean facilities and helpful employees.
It's always a pleasure to come to the Cinemark Franklin Park movie theater. The crew are always friendly and helpful. They are approachable when you have questions and are eager to help answer your questions. The theater's cleanliness is great. The theater also has a full bar. I can't wait to come back again!
Sarah S — Google review
Over the past few years, I have watched many movies in Standard Format and XD at this theater, and have always had good experiences. The inside of the theater has always been clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained. This is the only theater in the area that regularly plays Tamil/Telugu/Hindi movies (Indian languages), which usually get good showtimes. All large releases in these languages, as well as a few medium-scale releases, are screened here. The XD theater is incredible, and is the best way to watch a movie here! I watched one movie in XD in June 2024 (Kalki 2898 AD). The picture in XD here is visually stunning and provides a high-quality movie-watching experience. It is more vibrant than in standard format and enhances the film! The screen is also far larger than the standard format screens here. Like the picture, the sound in XD is unparalleled by the other screens here, it provides a far more immersive experience. I highly recommend watching in XD if you have the option - especially for movies that are best experienced in premium formats. If you are not watching in XD, the standard screens are also good and are equipped with good sound systems. The concession stand has a wide range of items for purchase. There is also a Pizza Hut express here. After it closes, a limited number of premade pizzas are still available. The pizzas from this Pizza Hut express are good. Additionally, the theater recently began selling Dippin' Dots. There is a self-serve kiosk outside the entrance, from which you can collect tickets booked online, you can also purchase tickets from this kiosk. If you prefer, you can also book tickets at the counter. I always book online to guarantee seats and skip lines. The online booking process here (as with all Cinemark theaters) is simple, works seamlessly, and can be done through the website or app. To conclude, Cinemark Franklin Park 16 and XD is an excellent theatre that provides a great experience. The standard screens here are good, but they pale compared to the XD screen. The XD screen offers an amazing viewing experience paired with great audio. This is also the only theatre in the area that regularly plays Tamil/Telugu/Hindi movies. The concession stand here is good and has a range of items. The self-serve kiosk near the entrance, allows you to purchase or pick up tickets easily. I highly recommend this theater!

Divinely Reviewed: Cinemark Franklin Park Our visit to Cinemark Franklin Park was a surprisingly pleasant experience from start to finish. We were greeted by Greg, who was not only kind and patient but also let us in on a little secret—every Tuesday, tickets are half off! That was already a win in my book, especially since I had planned on saving a little money. Before our movie started, we grabbed a few treats—cheese fries with ranch and jalapeños, buttery popcorn, and a slushy. I personally devoured the fries, and the Casual Business Kidd powered through the popcorn like a pro. Everything was fresh, hot, and hit the spot. Parking was definitely on the busy side, so if you’re planning a trip, I’d recommend coming during the daytime or bringing little ones to an earlier showing—especially for popular releases. Overall, Cinemark Franklin Park delivered a solid movie night experience—affordable, tasty, and family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back! #DivineDestinations #DivinelyReviewed #DivineIvriy #CasualBusinessKid #Cinemark

Kinda gross. Wasn't very clean. Walked in and there was candy wrappers in my seat. On top of that it clearly hadn't been vacuumed or the hand rails wiped I days. Wouldn't recommend. I would fine an Emagine theatre. When you can stream new movies to your home. This place isn't worth the drive.

Overall, for the 109 dollars I spent the only good thing I can say is the staff was great and refunded the food I ordered that literally tasted like it was either freezer burnt or super old. Seats were awful. I mean for 2 hours or so of sitting and waiting while also holding kids or moving stuff around us was ridiculous. I still enjoyed the movie but for the price spent you'd figure a better screen, seats, food. Also this is the first theatre I've went to in years that doesn't have the butter and cheddar your own pop corn area. And who doesn't allow refills on ICEE drinks?? Isn't that why you are charging so much? Many other better places with more at your disposal to make the move theater experience better.

Discover the newest addition to Metroparks Toledo's collection, Glass City Metropark. In winter, it transforms into an ice skating rink while in summer it's perfect for walking, roller skating or scootering. Adjacent to the park is Market Hall where you can rent roller skates and scooters.
My kids are obsessed with the large play structure. We spent most of our time there and can't wait to check out more of the park. Kevin ( — Google review
This is a beautiful Metropark my husband and I enjoy exploring. My one complaint would be that the trails could be marked more effectively. In many instances a trail will fork off in 2 different directions, as you'd expect. But at those forks, they frequently do not specify which direction you should go to remain on that particular trail, and so you end up on a completely different trail than the one you chose and originally started on. But as far as the beauty of the trails, they're top notch. You wind through a beautiful forest preserve of our native trees and other vegetation, with wildflowers in the meadow areas. It's great for encounters with birds, deer and other native wildlife. The restrooms have always been impeccably maintained when I've been there. It has several very nice playgrounds for children as well as picnic areas with grills and a facility available for rental. I'm thankful Toledoans have access to this gorgeous green space.

We visited on a Wednesday morning. There were only a couple people here. We walked the walking trail and then cut through half way to the red trail. We were on a bit of a time constraint, but still wanted to try this park out. It was nice! Lots of geese but they stayed away. We visited on a muddy day so we didn't get too close to the creek, but the water level was pretty low. they have bathrooms at the entrance by the playground. They have trash and recycling throughout the park to keep the place clean, and it was! They have benches, overlooks, water fountains with pet water fountains. Pets are welcomed leashed. There is a cute picnic pergola area by the parking lot. I can't wait to try the flood plain trail out, which goes into the little peninsula in the river. And I'm excited to try out the meadow trail loop. They also have a little area with pull up bars and step up station. Cute and clean! I liked it!

Nestled in the heart of Toledo, the Old West End Commons is a vibrant neighborhood that beautifully blends history and culture. Known for its stunning collection of Edwardian and Victorian homes, this area showcases architectural styles that tell stories from America's past. Each June, the community comes alive during the Old West End Festival, where locals gather to enjoy delicious food from various vendor trucks while browsing yard sales filled with treasures.

I'm sad to say, the Historic Old West End with its majestic mini mansions and oversized relished houses has seen better days.... for sure. I used to live here over a decade ago. At that time it was visibly obvious that many of these gems were becoming neglected. Now those same houses, along with many more houses are simply rundown, sadly. The consistant requirement of resourses required to upkeep these historical houses to their former glory days has become too much burden for too many owners. It is rare to see an entire block without atleast one rundown house. The number one "sore thumb" that consistantly sticks out within the neighborhood is the number of houses that simply need scaped and painted. Sounds easy enough to fix, until we realize this problem needs corrected by repainting atleast every 25-30 yrs, and that is using the best of the best quality paints. Add to that cost, the cost of time. These massive diamonds in the rough require much more than a couple's entire vacation time from work to be scraped and painted. The historical society original desired outcome was for each home to remain as close in structure as possible when it comes to the siding. In a perfect world with residents of unlimited financial resources, that would be ideal. However, in the "REALITY" of today's current mini-mansion home-owners, a long term solution of updated, lower maintenance products, such as vinyl siding may need to be reconsidered and implicated. My entire day spent in the historic Old West End during its Annual Festival can be best described as bittersweet. The one thing that Still Remains, the camaraderie and friendliness of the neighborhoods people.

The Toledo History Museum, situated downtown, showcases the city's rich industrial heritage, its involvement in the Underground Railroad, and its contributions to the Civil War. The museum features artifacts from Toledo's early auto industry and immigrant communities that have played a vital role in shaping the region. It offers a diverse collection of exhibits, photographs, and artifacts spanning from the industrial era to modern times. Visitors can delve into interactive installations and narratives that vividly bring Toledo's history to life.
My family and I visited the Toledo History Museum and had a great time. The museum is definitely small, but it's also free and Donna, a historian that works there, was lovely and discussed a lot of the history and exhibits with us. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in Toledo. I will also say you do have to street park, but it's free on the weekends.

False advertisement, they claim 'active members will have unlimited access' but then come tell you otherwise. Don't waste your money.

Oak Openings Preserve Metropark is a vast sanctuary that offers both summer and winter recreational activities, as well as an interactive nature center and a playground. The park's expansive grounds include the towering group of trees known as The Spot, which provides a picturesque location for elopements or wedding photo shoots. Oak Openings also features hiking trails that offer endless opportunities for stunning photo opportunities with furry companions.
This place is absolutely marvelous, you don't even feel like your in Ohio. The trails are amazing, the quiet in these trails is heavenly. We fished and we had lots of bites , caught about 2-3 fish , plenty of people were catching. There is an amazing waterfall, and so many bridges and up and down hills , it's truly an adventure! MUST VISIT!
Rock S — Google review
Well marked and well maintained trails of varying lengths. Trails for walking, hiking, biking, and mountain biking. Impressive wildflower displays. In mid August, some of the best blooms are seen at the reconstructed prairie plantings near to the mountain bike Fit Park in the Beach Ridge Area. CCC handiwork still visible in the park.
Nancy R — Google review
This park is an excellent location for a walk with your partner or a family picnic. The scenery is beautiful and provides a refreshing escape from the city parks. My only concern is that there are limited signs guiding visitors to the parking lot.
Josh — Google review
I've came to this park since I was a kid, there's so much to do and see, they have a park, a lake, picnic area, lots of walking trails, horseback riding trails, lots of spots for great picture opportunities, bird watching, there's just so much more to list, its has areas for public bathrooms (with changing tables), definitely worth seeing
Amanda J — Google review
Some trails are well marked others are not. There are tons of plants / bugs/ birds and squirrels. I hiked about 8 miles and didn’t see anything else. Pick the trail and research your entry point before you come. There is more than one yellow trail fyi there is a tiny one and a giant 15 mile one. I still have not found a great entry point for the giant 15 mile one.
Kelly B — Google review
As someone who's driven through the area countless times and never stopped because I thought it was all farmland with nothing worth driving across the state for, apparently I've been quite wrong. This place was a beautiful stretch of woods, wetlands, and some grasslands with wonderfully maintained campgrounds and playgrounds and peaceful trails.
Matt D — Google review
I enjoy the diversity this preserve offers. Swamp land/wet lands, sand dunes, coniferous forest, deciduous forest, grasslands, savanna, several ponds - so much to see here. Variety of plants and animals as well. Trails are well maintained and marked, several are multi-use, and there are a variety of distances to choose from. We always enjoy the red and blue, clockwise. There is a playground for young kids at the trailhead and a nature center. I've never used either so cannot speak on those. Flush toilets at parking lot. You will see red headed woodpeckers - they're everywhere lol!
Angela W — Google review
Absolutely loved it! Great for toddlers! Very clean restrooms. So many trails would need many visits to hike them all. Beautiful scenery. I didn't see any trash anywhere. Probably the best playground I've found in the Toledo area for sure. A little difficult to find where to park for the playground. Go to the park website and go to the Wilkins address listed, otherwise the Google maps takes you outside of the place and it's huge there so many places to park and trails to see. Hope this helps.

The park is a great place to go for a walk, run or bike ride. There are plenty of benches and tables, as well as a playground and fishing and boating area. It's also great for family picnics!
Great park! Looks like a fun playground for kids the mile track is nice for walking with a river view plenty of picnic areas
Don D — Google review
I've always enjoyed coming to this park, I grew up here. I've had first dates, first kisses, family picnics, family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries here. So many hours spent and memories made in this beautiful piece of nature. The only things I would change is that the playground my children play on is the same exact playground that I played on- it's time for an update and also, it's about time we get an official bathroom here!! Other than those small changes, I truly enjoy this park. There's a walking path around the park with a beautiful overlook of the Maumee river, two playsets, swings with and without accessibility seating and for babies, benches, tables, grills, tons of space and nature, 3 parking lots, shelter houses, and a gazebo.
Vivien P — Google review
Wonderful park for family picnics or just to spend some quiet time. You can go for jogging, walking, or simply reading a book. It has beautiful views, nice big park, children playground and lots of free parking. Lake Maumee is beautiful and peaceful to watch. Make sure to spend time here. Place is safe and there are lots of picnic benches and swings for adults. If you have not been here then make sure to put this park in the list.
Syeda A — Google review
My friends and I walk every morning. We love walking in the park. The only thing that bothers us is that there hasn’t been anyone cleaning the park. Trash cans are full. Trash on the ground. Last year there were people out here almost every day cleaning up the park. What’s going on?
Anna — Google review
Very nice park with a nice, easy walking/running path. We saw people making great use of this path. There were also people exercising in the gazebo. It was nice to see so many people making use of this park! I also loved the cute artistic touches!

My favorite Park in the city. Offering plenty of places for kids to run off steam. Romantic and awesome riverviews. Nice trail to walk dogs, cycle, run, jog, or walk. Plenty of picnic tables, grills and porta potties LOL

Beautiful walking path overlooking the mighty Maumee River. Surprisingly beautiful place to be with amazing trees and wildlife. The biggest ginkgo tree I've seen is here.

Irwin Prairie State Nature Preserve offers beautiful trails for walking and observing various plant species and dragonflies. It is a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with an abundance of Wood Thrush, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Yellow-billed Cuckoos, Black Cuckoos, and Blue-winged Warblers. Visitors are advised to bring sunscreen and bug spray due to the presence of mosquitoes in this wetland area. Parking space is limited, and there are no restroom facilities on-site.
What a great preserve! The boardwalk was nice, such a really intriguing place to enjoy nature and observe all the plants, animals, and insects.
Alice W — Google review
A scenic nature preserve offering a tranquil boardwalk trail that winds through diverse ecosystems, including open prairies, serene marshlands, and wooded areas. Ideal for nature enthusiasts, this peaceful setting provides opportunities for observing local wildlife, birdwatching, and enjoying the beauty of native plants in their natural habitat. The trailhead will close after heavy rain for your safety. Sections of the boardwalk can become submerged under water.
Jeremy F — Google review
Irwin Prairie is a little known gem. With a boardwalk the entire length makes it an easy walk. A great place for birdwatching in the spring and a wonderful place to catch a sunset.
Doug S — Google review
Nice trails to walk on! We saw many different types of plants and dragonflies. The birds were amazing and this is a great place for bird watching. Wood Thrush, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak are all over. Both Yellow-billed and Black Cuckoos can be heard from the boardwalk, and the Blue-winged Warbler was also around. I highly recommend that you bring sunscreen and plenty of bug spray! Because it is a wetland area the mosquitoes can get bad. The parking is a small area for a few vehicles and there is no restroom or portable restroom available onsite so plan ahead. You need to stay on the walkway while visiting as to not trample on the rate plants that grow here. Really nice place to enjoy nature and learn.
-Artsy L — Google review
First time going there today and I absolutely loved it. No one else was there, so I enjoyed the lovely boardwalk trail alone. It's so pretty and not a super long path either. So you can get some quick exercise in or walk it several times over. There a lovely little lookout bench at the "end" (the trail loops back) and it's so peaceful to just sit and listen and watch. No bikes or pets allowed, it's open until dark, and the trail is a boardwalk and it's not overly wide, so you'll need to be mindful of other people walking by. No playground, just the walk through nature. My kids are 7, 4, and 2 and I believe they would greatly enjoy this walk too.
Alison F — Google review
This is one of my favorite places to go for a walk and relax for a while. The view is always lovely, but be sure to bring bug spray!
Leah P — Google review
Even in winter it's stunning! A bit of a shorter walk than most. It's completely boardwalk except for part of it when you have to cross the street. Right before that there's a section of boardwalk that's sinking in a little with excess weight so watch your step.
Stephanie I — Google review
One of the hidden gems of northwest Ohio, Irwin Prairie is the last remaining portion of a prairie wetlands that once extended for miles in the Oak Opening savanna. Great for birdwatching. The 3/4 mile wood boardwalk rises above water and swamp grasses much of the way.

The Cullen Park boat ramp is a great spot for launching boats, biking, or walking. There are plenty of parking spots, and the long strips make it easy to trailer boats. The trail is mostly flat and easy to walk, but there are sections that are covered in poison ivy. Bring your hiking boots if you plan on exploring the area. There are also a few dead fish floating in the water that can be smelly.
Great place to launch your boat and go walking on trails. There are docks to launch kayaks and small boats as well as large boats. You can fish off the docks or sit at a picnic table and have lunch under a tree. Plenty of parking for your car or truck and trailer. There is public restrooms at the front of the park for public use. It really is a great place to just chill
Bryan J — Google review
The trail is ok. Overgrown in places and lots of roots, so watch your step! My kid loved fishing off the dock (no luck), and we enjoyed relaxing on the swinging benches. The freighter that went by in the distance was a nice surprise. There was moe trash THAN I'd like to see and the water is nasty, but I guess that's not really the park's fault. Definitely DONT hang your feet off the dock and into the water.
Jessica D — Google review
What a great little park! We enjoyed ourselves on a nice hike along the peak. Even though it was quite chilly, the path was decent. There’s a bit of brush and logs that will be taken care of in no time considering we saw fresh chainsaw marks. Well done to the park crews!!!
Lisa — Google review
Good place for fishing. Kids had fun. Great trails.
Anna M — Google review
Has new swings and seats. Has a boat dock and kiack dock. It has a trail that leads to the end of the peninsula. Nice scenery with plenty of birds.
Loren ( — Google review
It's an okay place to fish if you don't mind walking half a mile on a very narrow bumpy twisty tree rooted path through the woods to get to a place that you're not guaranteed because somebody else might have that spot there's only a few places along the river on that side that you can fish you... can fish off near where the parking lot is but you got the boat ramp there and that's not feasible
Laura — Google review
Such a beautiful place. Enjoy going on the trails out to the peninsula. Its such a peaceful place to relax and take in the scenery.
Jessica C — Google review
Great place to put your boat in and walk my dog out the peninsula. I have been visiting this place for over 35 years now, decent fishing on the bay. Getting out the peninsula will be a challenge since the tornado broadsided it, ripping many trees down. If there isn’t algae in the lake, it’s safe to swim your dogs.
