The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is a grand venue that attracts renowned national music acts, Broadway shows, and other high-profile entertainment. This theater has hosted some incredible Broadway performances with excellent views from every seat in the house. Backstage access for student performances or classes is available with helpful staff members always ready to assist. The center serves as a valuable asset to the local community. Patrons enjoy speedy drink service at affordable prices compared to other concert venues for an unforgettable experience.
I went for the killer of kill tony. I Feel like anywhere in the balconies were the way go. All the staff was very professional and extremely helpful. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning interior. Can't get over how beautiful it was. Perfect location. There's plenty to do within walking distance if you don't want to wait for the parking ramp traffic to subside. Only complaint is there was nowhere to purchase a bottle of water during a graduation ceremony. You'd think they'd make a lot of money if they sold water bottles, soda and simple concession items.
Brittaney M — Google review
Love this venue! Not a bad seat in the house. Every show I have seen is top-notch and so much fun! The staff is so helpful and polite. I highly recommend! You’ll love it!
Tina K — Google review
One of the true treasures of the Fox Valley. Home to many Broadway traveling acts. Seats are comfortable and views from all areas are nice. Nothing is better than the floor seats but definitely would not rule out upper seats. Skip the drink line, drink orders can be placed before arriving or while seated and can be picked up at bar areas, very convenient. Season tickets for Broadway shows saves a fair amount of money more than buying individual tickets.
Colin C — Google review
One of the worst concert experiences I have ever had. Power hungry ushers yelling and shining flashlights throughout the crowd over cell phones. There were no posted signs, no one ever said anything about a cell phone upon entry. Tickets said nothing. At intermission I asked the usher why they were doing this. She told me they found out as the show was starting. So they were enforcing something that no one knew about. The male usher in the 340 section should be fired. Shining lights in people's face who didnt even have phones. Meanwhile, looking out on the main floor, I saw hundreds of people filming and taking pictures. No one stopped them. The funny part was that throughout the show the performers were filming. They were talking about how much they loved the audience and their participation. They didnt care if we had phones. This was just downright awful. Apologies and refunds should be given. Show was great. Theater was awful. Never again.
John W — Google review
Great venue, all seats have a good unobstructed view of the stage. Lots of parking, bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. Really good acoustics to. Only down side that I see is wheelchair access is very limited. So be sure you specify this when you buy tickets.
Steve V — Google review
I saw Bobby Rush w Kenny Wayne Shepherd! It would be great if there was an area we could stand in, and move in, rather than being seated, for shows like this. Other than that, it's a pretty great venue!
Kevin S — Google review
Loved it! Easy parking right across the street, great seats no matter where you sit, workers were friendly & helpful, line for drinks & bathroom at intermission moved quickly, prices reasonable. Had a great time. Can't wait to come back!

Nice place. We were there to visit a small Harry Houdini exhibit. Nice display. They do give away some secrets of his tricks, but nice to visit if nearby.
Bob L — Google review
I was really excited because it’s in a castle . The inside architecture doesn’t look antique at all. I was very disappointed. The museum was not what I was expecting . It wasn’t at all anything special. I wouldn’t go out of my way to ever go again. (Came from 3 hours away) It was $12 a person and just not worth it There is so much space that isn’t utilized. All four of us walked away disappointed
Liz F — Google review
It was ok, the only part I actually understood why it was there was the houdini exhibit on the third floor and the historical pieces of the 19th century. There were too many pieces that were confusing and didn't make sense in the museum in my opinion. We paid 12 dollars per person all adults in case anyone is curious on prices...very cool architecture and I would recommend the back story from the clerk that was offered but we forgot to circle back and ask!
XiraSK0625 — Google review
I've been wanting to stop by forever but the timing was never right. I'm so glad I was able to get inside this time. There's so much to see! A very good selection of historical records for the city of Appleton. The building is an awesome piece of architecture for sure, I really enjoyed the woodwork, windows and fireplace downstairs. The Houdini exhibit was a pleasure. There are a really good selection of hands on things to do that made it all so much fun. The "Stone of Hope: Black Experience in the Fox Cities" was put together very well and I really enjoyed all the pictures. I'm a visual person, so there's never enough pictures😃. The stories on the display flowed along nicely. You should stop by, the whole family can find something to enjoy and it only takes about an hour and a half.
Amy H — Google review
Very interesting building for the museum! Had a great time in the Houdini exhibit. It was unlike anything I’ve done in a museum before!
Sarah P — Google review
One of the smaller museums we have visited. They were a little skimpy on exhibits. Our favorite parts were the Houdini hands on exhibits and the architecture of the building. It was worth the price of admission for the fun we had here. We only spent about 30 minutes here. We expected more based on how big the building appears on the outside.
Wanderfish — Google review
It was a good time for kids in the Hudini area. It was informational very hands on. We had fun picking locks and finding out how some tricks were performed. Great exhibition for the whole family. The other exhibits were a bit disappointing. I enjoy history deeply but at the time we visited all the history was just presented in text. Large banners and walls filled with words. The kiddos and young adults did not engage with the content presented in this manner. The information contained in was fantastic but not delivered well. That part was disappointing. The building itself was beautiful and probably my favorite part of the whole visit.
Tonya F — Google review
Nice little museum. Limited of course given the size of Appleton, but everything exhibited was very well done and informative. We especially liked the Harry Houdini exhibit and it was very extensive and interactive. My grandkids loved performing some of the magic tricks! They even explained how he did some of most famous tricks. That exhibit was worth the price of admission!

Museum
The Hearthstone Historic House Museum, formerly known as the Henry J. Rogers House, is a remarkable 19th-century residence in Appleton, Wisconsin. It was the first house in the world to be powered by a centrally located hydroelectric station using the Edison system. Today, it has been transformed into a museum that offers guided tours and exhibits showcasing its historical significance.
First visit. Such a great experience! We took the traditional tour around the museum during the Holidays, the house is decorated so beautifully with Christmas ornaments. Truly beautiful no matter where one looks. Our guide Lori was wonderful, she is very knowledgeable and threw in fun facts during the tour. Each room has its own charm and the history of the house is very interesting. The staff is also very friendly, we had a great time from beginning to end!
Denisse L — Google review
Our family had a truly wonderful experience at the Hearthstone Historic House Museum. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautifully preserved architecture and the rich history inside the home. What really made the visit exceptional, though, was our tour guide, George. George was absolutely phenomenal—knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly patient with our four boys, who had a lot of questions. He answered every one of them with kindness and enthusiasm, turning the tour into a memorable learning experience for all of us. His passion for the history of the home and the people who lived there really brought everything to life. We were very impressed with the museum itself—each room is carefully curated and full of fascinating artifacts. If you’re in the area, we highly recommend a visit. It’s a gem of a museum, and if you’re lucky enough to have George as your guide, you’re in for a real treat.

We did the tour of this house today....and are so happy we decided to stop by. Our tour guide was very friendly, and she knew so much about this place. This house is incredibly beautiful, and you can tell that a LOT of love and care went into building and restoring this beautiful example of high end late 1800s homes. The story behind this house is worth the tour alone, and getting to actually walk through it was a real treat. If you find yourself in Appleton, and have a couple of hours to kill, we definitely recommend stopping by and taking the tour....it is totally worth it.
Floyd L — Google review
We were recommended to visit from our friend and realtor Marissa Miller. We purchased our tickets online about an hour prior to our start time. George welcomed us immediately and was so friendly! Our tour guide Juli was phenomenal! She was just as welcoming and kind as George and did a great job! So much history to learn not only about the house but also Appleton as a whole. Highly recommend stopping in if you can!
Jordan K — Google review
For fans of true crime and history who crave something unique this is, without question, the best interactive tour available. If you want a tour that respects the subject matter while delivering a truly unforgettable, top-tier event, you must go to the serial killer tour times. The entire experience is thrilling. Easily one of the best experiences of our lives so far!! I loved it and he loved it!! You all did so good 🥰🥰🥰🥰 our young detective was eccentric in all the right ways perfectly fit for his role! As well as everyone else but I don’t wanna spoil it for you!
Jenevieve — Google review
What an amazing place. The tour states that it's about an hour, but you could tell how in love the house and the history our house was, and th tour was about an hour and 45 mins. Every detail of the house is preserved and it's fascinating that through varied ownership how much remained original. Even though the items displayed aren't specifically original to the house it's all time period correct, and donated from locals to showcase their respect for the house. Room to room there is so much to see in every corner. Our guide knew every knook of the house, gave time for photos, and really wanted to ensure each member on the tour had time to appreciate the environment around them. Entry was around 12$s per person and I saw comments saying it was pricey in some reviews. You can't eat at Burger King for that price, or see a film. This is well worth the money but knowing it preserves such a beautiful landmark is more than enough for the asking admission.
Lord E — Google review
One of the best tours I have ever taken. The tour guide was a wealth of knowledge that put his heart and soul into recreating the daily lives of the Rodgers family. The homes architectural elements were absolutely stunning.
Tim B — Google review
Juli gave us a five star tour today. We were amazed at how many electronic “firsts” occurred in Appleton.!! The home is a beautiful restored to original monument to the great thinkers of the 1800-1900’s what a grand Victorian home it is. Highly recommend it as a major tourist destination!!

The Trout Museum of Art, located in the heart of Appleton on Houdini Plaza, is a testament to the vision of the Appleton Artists Guild, which began its efforts in the 1960s. The museum boasts a collection of over 150 works and serves as a platform for local artists to showcase their talents. Visitors can immerse themselves in various exhibitions that change periodically, attend special events, participate in workshops and lectures, or enjoy family-friendly festivals hosted by the museum.
I enjoy the museum very much and can’t wait for the new one to open. I give some exhibits a one star and others five stars because of my personal opinions BUT the staff is knowledgeable and passionate about bringing art and art programs to our community! They are worthy of 5 stars.
Jeffrey G — Google review
Very unprofessional experience. People working the gift shop/selling tickets were extremely rude and loud. Instead of enjoying art, we got to listen to bodily noises and loud, immature chatter about TV, movies and whatever other subjects the two employees felt necessary to discuss. You could hear their conversation throughout the entire first floor. What a disheartening experience for something that was supposed to be enjoyable.
Jess E — Google review
Parking can be an issue but worth the distance because the art space is Amazing 🤩 Hugh vaulted ceiling allow for grand pieces and floor to ceiling windows in the lobby frame a beautiful view of Lawrence University.
Jason B — Google review
A small art museum, conveniently located in downtown Appleton. I've seen several fascinating exhibitions there, like an absolutely amazing origami display. I've also been there when I found the items on display to be "not much." If you think you'll go more than once, membership is a much better deal than admission. Insider tip: You're not likely to see fish at the Trout Museum. It's named after Dr. Monroe & Sandra Trout.
Lynn — Google review
We loved this museum. The staff was helpful and informative. The Bart exhibit is a great collection! Today worth getting an annual membership to visit again!
Tonya F — Google review
A little gem in Appleton. If you're into art you may wish to swing by for a bit of relaxation and contemplation. 🌈 We stop in regularly since were locals. They always have a unique selection of art on display.... something for everyone.✨ Plenty of parking in any of the ramps in the zone or on the street. Front entrance lobby offers a beautiful gift shop and a friendly staff. Usually there is an entrance fee. You can take care of that at the door. Bathrooms are in the back. This place offers two levels of viewing rooms and a small side room, that leads out to the back... usually with a featured artist. Normally we spent about two hours here. I think it's a great place to go for an afternoon. Bring the kids and get them interested in art at an early age. Art is phenomenal and extremely therapeutic. Everyone loves to draw and color as a child and it's extremely therapeutic to continue this as an adult even if you're not a Monet. We highly recommend the trout museum!🍇

Beautiful museum. Fun Grinch exhibit right now 12/2020.
Andrew G — Google review
Extremely disappointed. If you don't like their main exhibit, it is pointless to go. When the elevator opened for the upper floor we were slammed with a strong musty mold smell. The art work here flet like middle student could have done it. The best part was the top floor which was two TINY hallways with high school artists. Very talented students work there, but maybe only 20 or so pieces to see. Oh the front desk worker was VERY NICE =) and personable. Also they do have a cute little gift shop with a nice variety of items, priced well. But other than that I was so disappointed. I was looking at the images online and it looked like such a great place to visit. I was shocked they charged $10 a person to walk through!! This is my 1st bad review online ever so this was hard for me to do. But I don't want people to drive 3 hours like we did to check this place out to get as disappointed as I was.

Park
Appleton Memorial Park is a spacious outdoor space that features ample fields for soccer and baseball, as well as a pavilion and picnic area. Visitors can enjoy the park's interactive trail with pages from a book to read every few feet. The playground is particularly noteworthy, thanks to its rubber ground which provides safety and cleanliness. Additionally, the park boasts several amenities such as an archery range, smaller playgrounds, bathrooms, trails, gardens and scenic pond views.
This is an awesome park. Big with many things to do, walk, play, fish, or just chill. Park is clean. Playground is huge, great play area for kids. Has a pavilion with restroom but is a walk from the playground. Plenty of parking. Fishing is not bad, caught two bass from there on a plastic worm. Can get busy, especially around the playground and pond. Watch your kids, it’s not a drop off center 😊.
Meng T — Google review
i visit this park several times a year. this is my kids' favorite park in Appleton. big park with playground, pond, hill, and flower garden on the south half, and baseball diamonds on the north half. the pond is stocked annually with rainbow trout and they are fun to catch despite their small size, and there are plenty of other small panfish to be caught from the little fishing dock as well. my kids love flying kites on top of the hill in the summer, and sledding in the winter. i give 4 stars because the playground keeps getting torn down and rebuilt, they're all great but each time slightly less fun than the one before, so i wouldnt be surprised if the current one gets replaced in just a couple years again.
Xai Y — Google review
Very fun playground for kids and a huge park for adults and a good walk. Perfect park for family gatherings too with bathrooms and table area.

Wonderful park to enjoy the outdoors. Nice pond to walk by, a pavilion you can rent, plenty of seating areas and a nice playground for the kiddos.
Christy B — Google review
This was a great park. Plenty of fresh air, a ton of room for all, they had separate parks on the sake street that group together so everyone is kind of spread out. It was very pretty out there!
Briana D — Google review
This is probably my favorite park in Appleton and would highly recommend if you’re in the area. Lots of walking space, a few playgrounds, many baseball fields, and quite a bit more.

The park is very large and lots of things for the kids to do. I would recommend it for older children because there's so many climbing things. 5 and older for most of the stuff

Badger Sports Park in Appleton, WI is a top destination for family fun and entertainment. This 23,000-square-foot indoor center offers a wide range of activities suitable for all ages. Visitors can enjoy thrilling go-kart races, engaging rounds of mini-golf, heart-pounding laser tag games, and skill-testing swings in the batting cages. The park also features a giant game room with arcade games and a Hologate Virtual Reality Experience.
Definitely a great place to stop. Come by swing the bat get your game on. There’s some go karts and lots of indoor fun. Laser tag was awesome too.

Lots of fun. Employees where helpful and friendly. Was slightly disappointed in batting cages they have the balls shooting pretty low, for kids rather then adults. But im an adult that wants to be a kid and hitting low balls sucked. 😉 go karts are family friendly with both double riders and single riders.
Caissy B — Google review
Amazing management and staff that keep this place running as clean and efficient as possible. Batting cages are very reasonably priced and fun to hit ball’s all day. Their laze rooms are huge and the little have a blast. The arcade has a great variety of new and older machines. If there’s an issue with a machine glitching or acting up they’re fast to fix the issue.

My boys had the best time doing all the attractions! We’ve only done the games before but they loved the go carts, laser tag, and golf today! Staff were all super friendly and helpful!

We hosted our company’s team-building day at Badger Sports Park, and it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish! A huge thank-you to Karina and Eli — they were incredibly helpful, organized, and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. From coordinating our group’s arrival to managing laser tag and game play, they were truly wonderful to work with. Our team had an amazing time — the laser tag was a highlight (and got very competitive!), and we also loved the go-karts, mini golf, and other activities included in the Utopia package. The space was clean, and the whole environment was perfect for a mix of fun and team bonding. Highly recommend for any organization looking to plan an engaging and seamless group event. Thank you, Badger Sports Park!
Heather C — Google review
Always a great time here for kids and adults. Mini golf, Go-Karts, and arcade games are my families favorites. Staff is always personable. Food is decent. We go 2-3 times a year or more and will keep coming back.
Melissa M — Google review
Go karts are fun! Try not to take the yellow double seater..it’s a little slow. I’m sensitive to smells and standing in line the gas fumes can be a bit too much so I usually wait by the door until we are up. The green swipe games are fun…especially the virtual reality game! My kids also like playing the Super Bikes 3 so they can sit and “drive” the sport bikes. (See attached pic.) We purchased gift cards on a radio deal website, which at the time was spend $12 to get $25. I highly recommend trying to get some sort of deal whether their advertised utopias or discounted gift cards or great to ask family to purchase your kids vs more toys or to add to their Christmas list. We used $60 in gift cards to load on rechargeable card and got $25 free to use anywhere in Badger at each activities listed price (as of 9/21/24 here are some….mini golf $8-9, go karts $6, batting cage 14 pitches/$1.50, ticket earning games $1+, green swipe games $1+, laser tag $15 and inflatables $10 per day). Fun place to go on a family outing that is a bit expensive but it will be a great time! We try to go at least 2x-4x per year. It’s never too packed so we can get on something right away which is great!

Appleton Beer Factory is a laid-back brewpub located in Downtown Appleton, WI. The brewery prides itself on its historic building and offers a wide range of delightful brews. The exposed-brick decor creates a relaxed atmosphere for patrons to enjoy locally sourced eats such as burgers. The brewery also features a custom-fabricated brewing system, allowing visitors to witness the beer-making process firsthand.
My husband and I chose Appleton Beer Factory for the sole purpose of utilizing one of our Wisconsin Brewdeck cards. Street parking was as expected of Appleton on a Saturday evening. The front is handicap accessible. We sat at the bar. Ambiance, including house music, was pleasant. Service was prompt and well-timed. Coke products are served here. Food-wise, my husband ordered the Reuben with fries and I had the Shrimp Tacos with chips and salsa as a side. Husband reported back with great reviews. My shrimp tacos were delicious, but rather messy. They tend to fall apart a bit, and the insides fell on to my plate. No big deal. The chips I got as a side worked great to clean up the shrimp taco salsa now on my plate. I'd say this was a win, and we will be back again. P.s. the pickle in my photo was served with my husband's Reuben and he donated it to me. My plate had a lime wedge included.

Good beer and good food. One star off because the service was a bit odd. Not sure if they have actual waitstaff (beyond bartenders), but we came in for dinner on a trivia night (unknown to us) and it seemed like the bartenders were also having to double duty as waiters, so getting our food and getting the bill took a while since they were very busy with folks coming in for trivia.

Came from out of town (Yoop) for a show, first time at this location and It was amazing. Great intimate setting and great sound. Will definitely be back! Met Mark and he was very helpful, can tell he is passionate about that place. We bought more tickets for an upcoming show and We'll be following on social for future shows. Old Fashioned on tap was really good... Thanks for a great venue!

Second time at the Appleton Beer Factory and had a phenomenal experience. Quick service and amazing food. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich is not unbelievably spicy but had a good kick, with a super juicy thigh. And the cucumber salad with veggies fresh from the garden was incredible. Milhand Hefeweizen was delicious and so refreshing! Hints of banana! Great pizza! Looks like they have live music events too, wish I could've stayed for that!

There is absolutely no organizational system to order a drink during mile of music. It was chaos, and truly whoever was yelling the loudest at the bar, which was 3 people deep at all times. We had worked our way up to seats at the bar, waited a half hour holding my card out the entire time and never got a bartender’s attention to order a tap beer before we just decided to leave. The bartenders were moving and working hard, but there was no way three people could keep up with what was going on. If you are going to fill a bar to capacity, have staff and systems to accommodate.

🌿 A serene nature preserve offering a mix of paved, rocky, grassy, and dirt trails. It’s well-maintained, quiet, and perfect for a peaceful stroll or light hike. The area features large parking lots, including an EV charging station. Trails vary in length to suit different preferences, and the dense woodland provides plenty of cool shade along the way.

I had the honor of being an officiant and day of coordinator for a wedding at Bubolz Nature Preserve in early September. Although it was windy the ceremony space was beautiful dreamy! Inside was perfect for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The staff were excellent from communication prior to the big day and throughout with their POC and bartenders for me to work with. This location and the offerings they provide are highly recommended!

Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a family friendly place to go hiking and/or a good place to celebrate your special events in life at their beautiful building called “The Lodge”. Not to mention they also host the cutest events throughout the year ! ❤️

As a Live Wedding/Event painter and Fine Artist, it was an absolute pleasure to paint a majestic wedding ceremony scene at Bubolz Nature preserve. Charming space for guests to enjoy the stunning views of the grounds even from the patio. Wonderful staff, totally made the experience amazing.

A lovely place to visit. They have nature trails. I liked seeing all of the animals upstairs and downstairs. They ha e free wifi that doesn't require a password. We attended a wedding there. The reception area was nice size for a small wedding with 60-80 guests. The caterer was able to use the kitchen. They even have a large area to hang coats.

Beautiful place with plenty of walking trails. It can get muddy and slippery, though, so bring good shoes.

9/17/25 - Parking was atrocious and non-existent. The bridge is breaking and the water is gross. 2/10 Probably would be nicer certain times of year. Update Per Response on 10/16/25: - Correction it was a dock not a bridge, I apologize for the mistake. However the dock cracked and almost broke underneath where I was walking twice. The water was completely covered in algae and smelled horrible when you got past the tall growth. which the algae is shown in a photo. I will make sure in the future I take better photos of how "atrocious" places are. ALSO to add to this review. There is NO WHERE to park. We parked at a factory to which we then walked over, even though there is signage to show you were the place is. I dropped this review down to a 1 star because of the response that I got not taking my review seriously and trying to deny the information I posted.

Such a fantastic school! I loved my time there. My diploma from Lawrence embodies the expression of some juice not being worth the squeeze. The student body is mostly composed of individuals who possess “a holier than thou” attitude while at the same time, are not afraid to stab you in the back. The faculty will either support you, or do seemingly everything in their power to dim your inner light. If you enjoy life and are looking for some good vibes, pass on this one

Great school, awesome services, love the community and the professors are the best, very demanding but always available and very helpful. Food is good, they have variety and a lot of ethnic foods (I am not a fan) but I can't complain, the chefs will adjust to your dietary needs.

Located in the heart of Downtown Appleton, the Atlas Science Center is a nonprofit museum housed in a restored building that was formerly the Paper Discovery Center. It offers hands-on exhibits that delve into the history and science of papermaking, making it an engaging destination for both children and adults. The center aims to promote informal learning and create an environment where technology, science, arts, and engineering thrive.
A friend and I came here to explore randomly on a Saturday. We ended up arriving 30 minutes before a Paper Making class started. We didn't plan to do a class but I'm so glad we did! Claudia ran the class. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. The Center is interactive and there was a Glow in the Dark room you can explore with 3D glasses. Both staff members were fantastic. We had so much fun here! (We're both in our 30's 😄)

Just happened to discover this place with the kids. At first, a paper museum might not seem that enticing, but we all loved it. Very friendly staff, a chance to make paper (which turned out great), and interesting exhibits. A fun coupe hours that we all learned from.

We had a great time learning how paper is made, and even got to make a piece of recycled paper.

we stopped here when we were showing some friends around town. We walked in and discovered we could take a short class to learn how to make paper! It was so much fun and the presenter of the class made this a 5 star experience. She is super passionate and knowledgeable and has a wonderful personality. So fun to make a sheet of paper to take home!

Wanted to go to the Houdini museum when my mom was visiting but they happened to be closed for maintenance on the day in question so we saw that the Paper Discovery Center was open and decided to check it out. I've lived in the general area for 2 years and never once though about checking it out. I wish I hadn't waited because its a wonderful museum. It sits along the Fox River and from the windows you get to see the water rush by. The museum exhibits are awesome as well. They are interactive and all ages can enjoy them. It isn't a huge museum but there is a lot to see. If you go make sure you watch and participate in the paper making demonstration. It is included in the price of your ticket and makes for an awesome souvenir. The entry price is reasonable as well. If you need to kill time on a rainy day or need to get out of the heat/cold, you should definitely check this place out at some point.

A wonderful experience. Very hands-on. I would highly recommend this to any family, group or school. We made paper, which was so cool and got to work our way through many experiments. The artwork displayed through out tells a story and is stunning to view. We even got a private history lesson from the chairman of the board who happened to be there that day. I can't say enough good things. Just go.

A very friendly place, quite casual and fun for kids. Educational as well. It was founded by the Kimberly family. We wanted to learn a little more about the paper industry, and the amount of information here was just about right. One can easily spend a couple of hours here. The scenery is great, and there's even a nice restaurant on premesis.

The 1,600-foot Fox Cities Trestle pedestrian bridge provides a unique crossing over Little Lake Butte des Morts.
Great indoor area for children to see fish turtles and frogs. There is an indoor play area for little kids as well. The walking trail and outdoor playground/mud kitchen is amazing. Zip line is grandpa approved.

Excellent walking trails and boardwalk throughout the wetlands. Accessible to walkers for those with medical conditions/disabilities. A lot of signage to guide visitors throughout the reserve as well as informative signage on the animals and habitats in the reserve. Building has information about the wildlife and live animals to observe (turtles, fish, snakes). There is also a large play area for kids. Benches are available along the nature trails for those who may need to take a rest along the way. Overall excellent place for those of all ages.

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is a beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed place that offers something special for visitors of all ages. I especially appreciated the children’s play area, which encourages curiosity and hands-on learning in a fun, natural setting. The indoor activity center was another highlight, filled with interactive displays and exhibits that showcase local wildlife, habitats, and conservation in an engaging and accessible way. The educational aspect of the reserve really stood out. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into creating an environment where kids and adults alike can learn more about nature while enjoying it firsthand. The trails are peaceful and easy to navigate, offering plenty of opportunities to observe birds, plants, and wetland life up close. Everything throughout the property appeared to be well taken care of — clean, well-organized, and clearly maintained with pride. Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is a true community treasure, combining education, recreation, and natural beauty in one place. Whether you’re stopping in for an afternoon stroll, bringing children to explore, or looking to learn more about the local ecosystem, it’s a place that consistently leaves a lasting positive impression.

Beautiful, peaceful place to walk and take in nature. We saw woodpeckers, ducks and a crane family. Well maintained and so beautiful for taking serene photos. Trails are all groomed or wood planked. Best place in the valley to walk. We usually see deer when we come here too. Nice playground for children and plenty of parking in the large, paved lot. They have a bathroom as well as a pavilion with picnic tables (I believe you can rent it). Highly recommend going here. Free admission as well.

Embarking on a visit to the Weis Earth Science Museum in Appleton is like stepping into a captivating realm of geology and natural history. This museum boasts an impressive array of educational exhibits and interactive displays that engage visitors of all ages. As you wander through its halls, you'll discover a rich collection of geological specimens, including stunning minerals, fascinating fossils, and intriguing rocks sourced from various corners of the globe.
I admit, I went hoping to find pretty rocks and minerals...but there was so much more! This was not just a great geologic history of the EARTH review, but they had many exhibits fine-tuned to the LOCAL AREA. The Great Lakes, Wisconsin's Glacial History, The Niagara Escarpment, the MINING history and its importance in the BADGER STATE. They had a fair representation of fossils (including dinosaur stuff) for a museum this size. It's not a huge place - but we took our time and enjoyed it for about 2 hours. If you have more time, you can relax at a show in the BARLOW PLANETARIUM - right down the hall. We really enjoyed it.

This was a great spot if your kids are interested in rocks, gems, or fossils (and dinosaurs). I took some kids, ages 7, 9 & 10 (boys & girl) and they really enjoyed it. The staff members were super helpful and answered questions. We got to hold a dinosaur egg and touch some dinosaur bones. Their gift shop was fantastic! Items starting at $0.50 and up. They really cater to the kids and want to help them get interested in geology. One staff member was sitting on the floor talking about dinosaurs with some toddlers. They seem very passionate about what they do and I would recommend this to others. It’s not a huge place, so plan to spend maybe 1.5-2 hours here. It’s in the same building as Barlow Planetarium and is free with a suggested donation that is super reasonable for budget conscious folks.
Karen E — Google review
The museum had a cozy and quiet feel for a Saturday afternoon. It was very interactive and gave a more interesting and homey feel with its information on Wisconsin land. Being from Milwaukee, I thought it was worth the drive. There was a man who gave us a mini tour on the fossils that they had without needing to pay or ask, he was there to answer questions and give us information and it was amazing. This is coming from a group of five adults! The gift shop was so cool and very affordable! I almost purchased the whole store! Unfortunately, the planetarium was under construction when we arrived but that gives us another reason to go out and visit again! If you live in Wisconsin and haven’t checked this place out, I recommend it! You’ll definitely learn a thing or two and have fun with the museum all to yourself!!

From thrilling laser tag battles and bumper car races to engaging arcade games and a delightful carousel, there's never a dull moment. I would take my for kids here 25 years ago. Sunset has had a much needed recent face-lift. It has all new game machines! Everything appears so clean. It has the playground, train, lasertag, carousel, bowling, bumper cars and lots of food and games! We've also had a lot of birthday parties here! There is a new card system which will cover the cost of everything, except for food and drink. Don't forget to plan on a movie before, or after the fun! The one thing that I was disappointed with was the play area for toddlers only was being used by older rough kids and the little ones were at risk. This should be monitored much closeer by staff for safety reasons. Some parents just don't care about rules and need a firm hand
Eric S — Google review
This place was truly fun, but there was just a couple things that kind of stick to us/our group. first of all as soon as we walk in the door, we see an unsupervised toddler running around. The toddlers parents were waiting for these teenagers to probably get their food.. speaking of the teenagers… we noticed teenagers were extremely rare to find there. Except for the ones at the front desk. I do not recommend coming around 2:00 as we simply noticed there is only one teenager at the front counter. We literally had to say it” hello sir, excuse me”! This teenager looked like he did not clearly enjoy the working condition/being the only worker/having so many kids waiting for him to do things. Let me just let you know that as soon as we got in it took about 5 to 7 minutes to just wait in line to get the tickets. Of course we got the basic pass because we don’t really need to do golfing or anything. But all of a sudden they make an announcement while we’re in the play place that laser tag is now closing, and that the last round would happen. But of course, since the speakers weren’t loud enough, no one heard them and they just close without any notice or warning. I also have a little issue with some of these games.. the cards are very scam/cheap type. and I instantly ran out just playing a couple games. on the other hand, I guess it was pretty nice because at the end we got 86 tickets. you might be wondering, what did we get well you can get a ninja a little alien attached with a little parachute and a frog toy, which was kind of like the ones that you can just bounce anyway in the background we decided to go on things like the carousel, the play place and my favorite of all the bumper cars the only thing that was truly wrong with the bumper cars was just three little things, but at the end of the day they don’t matter that too much. but the lady swore in front of little kids too the one that works at the bumper cars. The next thing what’s the bumper cars were a little bit too old I don’t know how old the places, but they looked pretty ran down and I’m pretty concerned because the last thing is there was no seatbelt meaning it was kind of like a strap it and it’s a risky thing. The play place is cool. There is some fun spots, but other than that it is extremely dirty and no parents are watching their children whatsoever. Also, most of the kids who go in the zone for toddlers look like little kids when they clearly don’t in my eyes because I know what a five-year-old looks like and most of the kids could have a conversation that a kid over four and there was some little kids that looked around three or two but other than that yeah the bathrooms are a little weird and it’s a bit hard to close them overall give it a 2.5 but for the sake of it, let’s give you guys three

We just held my daughter’s 4th birthday at Funset Boulevard and it was great! A little pricey but for we had about 30 people which came out to about $15 a person. That’s for pizza, cake, soda, and all you can ride rides and the jungle gym. We had the party room for 2 hours, got to come in early to set up, and the kids could stay after for as long as they wanted! We’d definitely do it again 🙂
Sarah O — Google review
This spot is a great choice for a family outing, offering kid-friendly fun, good food, and enjoyable play areas. However, the costs can add up quickly. Food prices are on the higher side, and game credits range from 6 to 15 per play, meaning they can run out fast. There’s also now a $1 charge for the game card, a fee that wasn’t there in the past. The place isn’t as busy as it once was. As digital entertainment continues to dominate, experiences like this are becoming less popular and financially sustainable. Sadly, it feels like another business fading away in the changing times.
Meng T — Google review
This place is literally the worst place to go with kids. The only good part was the mini golf. The person we had to deal with was Jenny or Jenna. She seemed like she was only there to conversant with Caitlyn. They both seemed like they didn’t want to be there. They had an attitude and belittled me when I had questions about wheelchair accessibility. The prices for the food was very pricey. But the food was okay besides the burger not being cooked all the way.
Andy O — Google review
We love coming to Funset! Playground, arcade games, train rides, carousel. Decent prices, lots of new upgraded games lately. It's darker lighting than it once was in the play area. Overall, always a fun time here!

Great place to take the family with activities for all ages. It was fun reliving my childhood frown when I used to come here for vithday parties. We purchased the basic bracelets for my sons to have fun on the carousel, bumper cars, train ride, and massive playground. We grabbed the pizza deal and purchased the token deal. It was nice that they were less expensive if you got food. 100 tokens for $13 got all four of us about an hour of arcades, which is a great value. The only critique I have is that there is close to a sixth of the arcades that are broken. We will be stopping back for more family fun.
Paul F — Google review
We have gone here almost every year around Christmas for a family fun night. We enjoy playing laser tag the best. Their bumper cars are also a great time and even pretty young kids go on...42 inches. The pizza is alright, nothing super special. The arcade games are good but they don't give out many tickets. And the prizes seem to be a bit high in tickets and a little too cheap. But still a fun place to go :)

No stranger to Appleton but always went to the west side to use their airport for flying westbound. This side was a completely new experience. First I must commend how clean the city was especially for an event this size. Second the layout was perfect cause we use scooters. A complete mile of things to see and do Saying I love music is like saying a chubby kid love cake. The bands were at their best and several were playing this year. The food vendors were great. If you love music this is the event to experience. The people were all very cool. Hats off to the organizers of this great event. Counting down till next year's event. One of the best date nights ever! Staff was so friendly. They even offered to take a photo of us at the end! So sweet. Great bar selection, nice variations of games. Enjoyed the other games like jumbo jenga and others after. A lot more fun packed into that building than just axe throwing! We will happily be back.

5 Stars – Perfect Date Night Spot! We had such a blast at Appleton Axe for date night! The vibe is awesome—laid-back yet lively, with a cool industrial feel and great lighting. The staff was super friendly and helpful, making sure we were comfortable and knew how everything worked. The axe-throwing lanes were well set up and a ton of fun. It’s the perfect mix of competition and laughs, and the interactive digital targets add a fun twist to the experience. Whether you’re out with friends or looking for something unique for date night, Appleton Axe is a win. Can’t wait to come back!

We've been several times now and it's so much fun! The staff has always been amazing. They have gluten-free drinks available in addition to a variety of beer selections. You can order Stucs and have it delivered. We went with our adult children and have gone several times with friends. It makes for a great date night, family fun, or fun with friends. At first, I was worried that we wouldn't be able to hit the target, but they teach you, and it's pretty easy to figure out through trial and error what works for you. We also love playing Hammerschlagen. Try it!!!

This place is awesome. Come on down for some extra, throwing shuffleboard or a variety of other games while you’re hanging out. Very reasonably priced and a great time!

Our family came here for our daughter's 25th birthday. We had a blast. The service was great. Explained all safety rules and methods of throwing axes. Even offered to take our group photo. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, almost had the place to ourselves which was nice. Looking forward to going back.

We stopped in to check out axe throwing, and ended up spending like 5 hours here. We opted for the axe throwing and escape room bundle. After our allotted time of axe throwing, we hung out playing cornhole, and darts for awhile grabbing some drinks before we did the escape room. Escape room was was not overly difficult, I'd say the perfect difficulty where we still had to think to figure out the puzzles, but it wasn't so hard we were lost. Game master was very good, giving us small clues when we almost had the answer, but just needed a nudge. Afterwards we ended up staying a bit longer just grabbing drinks and hanging out. Very nice place, and staff was great.

Lots of fun with a group. Recently went on a work team building event and had a great time. They give you instruction on how to throw and how to run the games. It is like bowling for a new age with more flannel and you don’t have to take your shoes off. They have lots of space for a large groups, nice bar (cans only for safety reasons) and fun side games. Highly recommend. This is blast that is guaranteed ti make memories. They even have lots of tvs so you can watch the big game and chill.

Wow what a good salesman Mr James is, and friendly to boot. Super bowl has been a favorite of mine and my family for years. Come bowl, come eat, come drink. So much much fun under one room. Excited to see their newly remodeled arcade when it's finished.

My group of 7 of us came in to bowl 4/25/25. We got to the alley at 10. We bowled on lanes 13 and 14. After 2 games, we asked the lady at the counter if we could bowl lanes 5 and 6 next to another group that we knew. These lanes were sport pattern which we knew and wanted to try. At about 11:10 was when we asked to get moved. At first, the lady said no then i proceeded to tell her that I knew the people bowling on those lanes and they had a sport pattern out and we wanted to bowl over on those lanes. She then said fine and said she could do it. We moved all our equipment and balls over to lanes 5 and 6 and she terminated our lanes 13 and 14. We sat there for 5 minutes waiting for the screen to allow us to add our party on there. Screen never let us and at this point the lady had left the desk. One member of our party went to the front desk and waited patiently for this lady worker. She finally appeared again after 5 minutes. This member then came back and said that the lady said she is working on it. We waited another 3-4 minutes. Nothing happened. I glanced over to the front desk and she was obliviously cleaning shoes without a care that we weren't able to bowl. As my party just stood there, I walked over to inform her that our lanes were still not on. She then gave me attitude (side note, she had been giving attitude this whole time but everyone has their bad days so I kept my calm), and she said, now you should be able to add your players. I stood there for a couple seconds looking down at lanes 5 and 6 just to make sure the TV screens were making a change. They did. I proceeded to walk back to lanes 5 and 6 but she had only added 4 people to lane 6 and lane 5 was blank. At this moment, I looked back at the front desk and the lady worker was oblivious to the situation. There was a male worker that walked out from the bar and had a short conversation with the female worker. After the short conversation, he walked towards us (lanes 5 and 6) and walked to the back of the lanes. I thought to myself, maybe he's going back there to fix our problem. The male worker walked back out after a couple minutes and I approached him and asked him if they had figured out the problem on why our 3 other players haven't gotten added yet. He told me he didn't know and proceeded to walk towards our screen. At this point, it was already 11:37. My group had already been tired of waiting so I told the male worker forget it, We're done bowling. I'm just curious on how we pay the $18.99 per person to bowl which comes out to $132.93 plus tax and shoe rental so estimate to be close to or more than $150 and the lack of customer service this place has, would be worth to ever come back? Side note, during all these interactions, we were never rude towards these workers. We kept calm. It was getting late but we knew that we would be able to at least bowl one game on sport pattern if they had actually fixed the issue the first time. We ended up packing and leaving anyways because at this point we wouldn't be able to finish our game. I don't recommend coming to this place. Our issue never got fixed and the lady worker in charge of the front desk didn't help. Bowlers beware. I've never had this issue at Superbowl before and tonight was the last night I would ever go back.

if you are planning a birthday, don't make it an event, staff was stressful and unnecessarily particular about how the catered food was handled, it would be cheaper to just rent out a couple lanes and shoes for your kids then pay for food as desired like normal customers. probably save a lot of money and don't have staff breathing down your neck the whole time. also the bathroom soap smelled terrible, i can't wait to get home and wash my hands with something that doesn't smell as horrible.
Nyatasha L — Google review
Somehow it cost just around $100 for my wife and two kids (ages 5 & 7) to bowl for a couple of hours. This also wasn't including a separate tab that we had open for beer and food which was another $40 to $50. Should it really cost around $30 per person to bowl? I feel this is a little much. The only reason this isn't a single star review is because the food is decent. They also choose to serve the typical Nationwide domestic drafts instead of the local fantastic craft beer.

What a let down! The lanes were ridiculously greasy. It wouldn’t spin and that’s not a ‘me’ problem - I can always get it to spin but not today. Also, charging FIVE DOLLARS for one soda off the gun is highway robbery. This isn’t downtown Chicago. Hopefully they can make some changes for the better but I won’t know about it because I won’t be going back.

Used this park as a base to explore a few blocks of this area of Appleton The park itself is small and not much to it, but is an excellent public space in the middle of this denser populated area The fountain offered some nice mist on a very sunny day and by the late morning was busy with kids and families who had the same idea. Also some interesting architecture in this area

Beautiful park with endless possibilities… I attended the Sole Burner run/walk which had over 3000 participants and the park didn’t feel too busy. Great green space with wheelchair friendly playground and several buildings and elements that have elegant design and appeal. This is a great place for you and a friend to wonder off to with a snack and drink from one of the many shops on College Ave.

Very nice park. Please be aware of karen-like mothers who place the infants on the big kid playgrounds, then a big kid wants to utilize the stairs, they want to speak direct the child while the mother is not looking. They were wearing a purple shirt on Labor Day around 3:45pm.

Was a great day for Appletons Art in the Park! Tons of vendors and lots of food trucks. Some very unique jewerly and yard art. The set up being all around the outskirts of the park made it very easy to view all the attractions! Plenty of space to have a picnic and listen to the music. Lots of people had their pets walking around with them and there were nice play areas for the kids.

Xtreme Air is an amusement center that offers a fun and enjoyable experience for both children and adults. It provides a unique opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, offering activities such as trampolining, which are particularly loved by kids. The facilities are well-maintained, although some areas could benefit from more attention to cleanliness. Additionally, there were occasional lint chunks on the trampolines, which can be expected due to the high traffic of children using them.
I decided to bring my 6 year old daughter and her friend this afternoon to get some energy out. The check in process was a little tedious (even if you fill out info ahead of time), but from there on out it was a wonderful experience. The girls LOVED the climbing wall and the equipment was well kept and everything was well supervised. The environment itself was far more chill than other places in the area...I could hear myself think and it didn't smell like a gym sock 🤣. The staff was kind and helpful. I was surprised that the food prices were reasonable as well. Overall it was a great afternoon!
Jacqueline B — Google review
Fun place but Please be careful with children on one of the climbers up by the trampoline area. The back of it is up to the railing but the top of climber where the kiddos go up too is far above it. There is nothing to catch them if they were to stumble backwards at the top & kiddos could easily fall over to the bottom floor and be killed or seriously injured if not careful! Not sure how that is safety compliant... Otherwise a fun place just felt I should post a PSA

This place is a great example of what happens when you jam a business inside a business inside a business, and then not tell the paying customer "well theirs actually 3 separate places in here that are not extreme air". The game room? Not extreme air. The indoor field? Not extreme air. So I just shelled out over 50$ and get told I can't use the indoor field. Wow. They also make sure not to tell you when your paying. It's only after they take your money and try to go in, when they tell you that field is separate. Maybe don't have 2 or 3 businesses inside your business, or at least tell people when they're paying that this stuff isn't included. Ridiculous. Won't be coming back. Also got my clothes and food stolen by some degenerates

Rock wall and Wipe Out was closed and the Laser Maze was out of order. The arcade games repeatedly took credits and didn’t work, management said they could not do anything about it because they don’t manage the machines. This facility, compared to the other two similar facilities in the Valley, was pretty disappointing. For 2 kids for 2 hours and 20.00 game credits each, cost $84.00. We left after 45 minutes.
Kathy M — Google review
We LOVE LOVE LOVE going to Xtreme Air! The facility is nicely maintained, the food is great with great prices, admission prices are beyond fair, the adults can jump, and the kids get a lot of energy out!! What’s not to love?

Fantastic place to burn off some energy and have a good time. So much to do and keep kids, ages 3 and up, occupied! We had a birthday party here, with kids ages 4 through 13 and all had fun- including a few parents. Jumping, dodgeball (huge favorite!), basketball courts, Gladiator, obstacle course, and spinoff jump thing- way too complicated for me, but the kids really enjoyed. They also have an amazing rock climbing wall with several stations and ability levels (additional fee). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean place too. They had a variety of different snacks and concessions available as well. The prices seem very reasonable to other trampoline parks, especially for the size of the facility. Would recommend!

The Fire Art Studio, located in Downtown Appleton, is a creative establishment that offers a wide range of artistic activities suitable for people of all ages. These include pottery painting, glass fusing, and canvas painting. The studio provides a comfortable and relaxed environment where individuals can freely express their artistic talents and produce one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Customers appreciate the diverse selection of projects and glazes available to choose from.
You might see the prices of mugs or other stuff you can do here and think it might be too much but this is a really fun experience for all ages. It is so much fun to paint and design your own dishes or make mosaics etc. You take a piece, decorate, and The Fire professionally fires your piece to a vibrant color with an awesome glaze. The staff is incredibly friendly and SUPER helpful. My lovely lady and I had no idea what the heck was going on but they were very patient and willing to help. No staff member was annoyed by questions. Just an overall positive experience. We are planning on making Christmas ornaments every year with our kids here and we are going to bring them to make other stuff too. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I even saw some kids break some pieces of sample materials and the staff didn't even look annoyed. "Don't worry, it happens," is what they said. Awesome atmosphere and awesome fun. As I said, the cost might seem high but my wife and I spent about 3 hours in there messing around so the cost per hour is a lot less than most activities and it's super fun... plus we have mugs now we can cherish forever unless we break them.

Flash and no flash. So it'll end up looking VERY different. You need an imagination. The bottom is ALL green colors- you CAN'T look at the color you paint. The top will end up a Black with glittery bronze and red. Middle will be red and white (I hope) with this mini confetti in the white. Many options to choose from. Kinda pricy. This was $55 app proximately. Waiting 2 ish weeks to get it back. They can mail it to you at addition cost.

I had my daughter's birthday party here a few months ago. It was a hit! We enjoyed it so much that my daughter and I came back again for a mommy and me date. I love that they offer cool pieces for every price range varying from $7 to $100+. I chose a more practical item that I plan to put to use: a butter bell, while my daughter chose a cat statue. We both had a blast and are looking forward to picking up our pieces!

We went too early. The Main street music, other than bars, didn't have music until 4:30 p.m. or later. We had the grand teens with us. We had lunch at The Hilton...soup/salad which closed at 2 p.m.! We got there at 1:20, then felt a little rushed. Never had our water refilled or sadly food items were getting put away b4 we were ready. We should have gone where there wasn't a closing time. The grands mostly enjoyed Heid's Music Store where they were able to try different instruments. Also good entertainment in the back patio.👍

Fantastic music festival! So many artists to choose from! There are a great number of venues to choose from. Find one you like and sit there all day! Or, download the app they have and plan out your own schedule & sample music from the artists. Kid friendly!! I cannot stress this enough. If you have children or are interested in learning about different types of music- check out what their Music Education Team (MET) has to offer!! It is always a hands on learning experience and fun for all!! Drum circles and dancing are a big hit with my children. This is not a festival that I would suggest no kids allowed. I encourage you to bring them! It is much more chill than any other musical festival around. If you want crazy and drunk-go to Appleton’s Octoberfest. If you want to hang out, listen to hundreds of different artists, sip on a beer, eat some great food, and not be pushed around or worried about losing your group-Mile of Music is your spot!!

After many years, I have discovered a part of the park that I did not know existed. Drive down by the Yacht Club and look across the street. There is an unmarked trail going into the woods. It is beautiful! Definitely the road- err, trail - less traveled! At the other end, there are rustic stairs leading up to street level near the corner of S.Mason St and Pine St.

Love the newly redone park! The playground equipment is amazing. Will definitely be a favorite this summer. The zipline is a hit! The unique swings are fun too!

A very nice park with a large playground and disc golf course. Nice spot to take a quick walk or sit for a while.

Pierce Park has so much to offer! It's clean and very well kept. We used to call it the digger park as there were sandy areas and a few fixed mechanical digger toys which the kids could sit on and dig all day. Over the past few years they've revamped the playground area w fresh recycled turf and fun, new updated equipment. One word.. zip line! Host larger events, plan a picnic, have a group or family gathering, listen to live music, take a class, explore the playground, toss a Frisbee or play Frisbee golf, basketball, tennis or other court games! Walk the trails, enjoy the open green spaces or sit in the shade under the park's abundance of beautiful old (and new) trees. It's easy to spend part of your day here.
