1The Peninsula Tokyo

The Peninsula Tokyo is a luxurious high-rise hotel located in the prestigious business district of Marunouchi, offering stunning views of the city and sophisticated facilities. The hotel boasts traditional Japanese design elements and world-class hospitality, with an impressive lobby designed to resemble a Japanese lantern. Guests can indulge in masterful kaiseki meals, enjoy local artwork, relax at the high-end ESPA spa, and experience luxurious room amenities.
From the very first moment of our arrival, The Peninsula Tokyo exceeded all of our expectations and made our stay truly unforgettable. The service is on an absolutely world-class level. Every team member we interacted with – from the concierge to the spa staff to housekeeping – treated us with such warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. Small details and thoughtful gestures made us feel not only welcome, but truly valued as guests. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with every comfort imaginable. The attention to detail in both design and amenities is remarkable, and the quality of the bedding, furniture, and technology reflects true luxury. The spa was another highlight – a serene space offering deep relaxation and an exceptional level of service. After our treatments, we left feeling completely renewed and cared for. The location of the hotel is also excellent, with easy access to Ginza, the Imperial Palace gardens, and many of Tokyo’s best shopping and dining experiences. What truly sets The Peninsula Tokyo apart, however, is the way the staff makes you feel. It is not just about luxury or convenience – it is about the personal touches and the feeling of being genuinely looked after. This combination of elegance, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality makes The Peninsula Tokyo one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. We would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking to experience Tokyo at its best.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay as a couple with a 10 months baby. Starting from arrival to the end of the trip, the Peninsula Tokyo has exceeded our expectations. Every little detail of the experience is curated and thought out, making sure to answer every need of the guests. The concierge service was phenomenal.. They've helped us reserve and coordinate multiple services and restaurants prior to our arrival, making sure all of the details are figured out for us and communicating everything in detail. The room service was great, offering amazing food options for babies (unseasoned and healthy) and high restaurant quality options for adults. The Lobby restaurant was out of this world, while the food is great, the staff made our 10 months old feel like a first class citizen, catering to her every need/want. The spa experience was really great. The location is amazing, very walkable but also far away from the Tokyo craziness. I can't say a single bad word about the entire stay, 10/10 would recommend and will surely come back again.

Great hotel! We only stayed for one night but had a lovely visit. The views from the rooftop bar (Peter: the bar) are amazing though as you would expect, the place is very busy in the evenings. Breakfast was a little hectic but the staff are so friendly and attentive that it doesn't detract from the experience too much. The hotel's location is perfect and who doesn't fall in love with the vintage Rolls Royce parked at the front of the hotel? The bell-staff / doormen were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and met our needs, even if they surprisingly felt a little dated. The beds are very comfortable!

I had a fantastic stay at The Peninsula Tokyo! The location is perfect, with easy access to major tourist attractions. The rooms are well-appointed, offering both comfort and luxury. The staff was friendly and incredibly accommodating, making my experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo!
Andy B — Google review
First time guests at Peninsula Tokyo. We stayed for 3 nights. The room is spacious by Japan standards. Fantastic location in Ginza. Walkable everywhere. Tons of restaurants and shopping nearby. I like the feeling of coming back to a quiet and calm place after a busy tiring day out. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I like the spacious double-sink bathroom and walk-in wardrobe with vanity table. The service is impeccable. There's always someone at the main entrance to welcome you and help with getting taxi. Ever ready to answer any questions or render help in any way, time or manner. The early check-in and late check-out is a bonus especially if you have odd flight times. Peninsula Tokyo is truly a 5-star experience. So impressed. Will return.

One of the most spectacular hotels worldwide. The Peninsula Tokyo’s attention to service and tradition are unmatched. We stayed here for five nights recently and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The food, amenities, rooms; everything was fantastic. There is so much to say, too much actually, about the greatness and spectacularity of the Peninsula. In fact, I would say it is the best Peninsula property out of all of them, by far — that’s saying a lot. We look forward to visiting Japan again soon, and certainly when in Tokyo we will stay here.
Jack — Google review
Very underrated hotel in Tokyo. Stayed here for over 25 days across 2 trips. Service is top notch even for Asia. Rooms are a little dated but timeless so it’s fine. Best thing about them is the layout and size is great, the separate walk in closet that doubles as a makeup/vanity is perfect for my spouse. You can pay double their nightly price and get an inferior experience in Tokyo.
Nick B — Google review
The best 5-star hotel, everything is worthy of being called a 5-star. Even if there were 6 stars, I would give it to this hotel, because why?? Because the room is clean, there is no dirt whatsoever, the bathtub is good, the room view is beautiful, the restaurant has delicious food, their staff are friendly, in short, it is suitable to be recommended.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is a luxurious property with a rich history dating back to the Edo and Meiji periods. The hotel boasts lush gardens, a spa, and an indoor pool. Guests can indulge in a variety of dining options, from Japanese to Western cuisine, including afternoon tea and gourmet burgers. The hotel's shop offers an array of sweets and food items for guests to enjoy at their leisure.
Came here for work and stayed for a week. The staff was amazing, they even helped me to solve a problem I had with the payment of a taxi because my credit card suddenly stopped working on the last day. The garden is stunning. Would have loved to have more food options as a vegetarian though, but everyone was so friendly and accomodated breakfast choices when they could. If you are hoping to visit tourist spots, please consider that the hotel is almost 20 minutes walking from the closet subway station.

Stay for 3 nights. Luckily we got upgraded to stay in suite room. The room is way too big!!!! with a ginormous view. Can see the whole garden and the pagoda. We attended the Tokyo Moon event which was spectacular. Every staffs are great and took a very good care of us. We also try the swimming pool. It’s pretty different from hotel pool in Thailand but my daughter love it so i love it too. My wife tried the hot bath and she loved it too. Japanese breakfast was very nice, we all love it. We had a very good time there.
Mick V — Google review
The hotel is beautiful elegant almost Regal. Room impeccable furniture velour finishing. The staff comes to greet you as soon as you appear someplace. Excellent attention and quality service. I will say the breakfast buffet was excellent but the set breakfast was ok. Hash browns was difficult to eat. The eggs excellent however you desire them and pastries delicious great croissants flaky pastries. Breakfast juices the special is always good. The location seemed a little isolated. We taxied everyday.

This was such a magical and beautiful hotel. The garden is breathtaking to walk in, and the moon show that they preform and the mist they release it such an experience. The hotel food is great for vegaltarians and Muslims, as there is no worry of cross contamination of meats. The hotel staff are so friendly and willing to help. There is a bus right outside that will take you to shinjuku or near the main station, so it's a good location. The hotel is sign posted everywhere making it easy to get to. And there are buses directly to the hotel too. Don't hesitate to book it.
Nasreen M — Google review
We stayed in 4 hotels in japan all different themes and room size but away from busy attractions and area, we found this hotel completely relaxing. Our room was big, everything we needed. We even slept on futon (Japanese style bed) surprising comfortable and the staff were amazing, the restaurant food was great. We had no complaints and even if there was any issues it was dealt with immediately and great care. There was parking as well and a beautiful zen garden. We choose to stay at this hotel at the end of our trip, which was perfect choice if you want a peaceful stay. The area barely had any cafes or shopping mall but only a few good restaurants but that's it. We didn't get a chance to enjoy all facilities but we definitely come back here again worth every penny:).

I don’t usually write reviews, but this hotel truly deserves one. Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is exceptional in every way — a calm, elegant sanctuary in the heart of the city. The gardens are breathtaking, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the service is genuinely world-class. Having stayed in many top hotels around the world, this stands out as one of the very best. I’ll definitely be returning.
Jakub P — Google review
Highly refined taste in terms of hotel interior. Can’t believe they could keep the aesthetic for all these years! Toiletries are loccitane products. The lighting in the room could be better… Must try the Japanese breakfast at 2/F!
Kiki D — Google review
Got a great rate and when we walked in the door they cancelled it because we were not Chinese. ( The rate was apparently for Chinese only, so not sure how we got it in the first place.) The staff was very nice and held our luggage for the day while we went to town and then figured out another hotel for accommodations.

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is a sophisticated hotel located in the bustling business district of Toranomon, just a short distance from the political center of Tokyo. The 164-room hotel occupies the upper floors of a skyscraper, offering stunning city views from its chic and contemporary rooms and suites. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed at the Andaz Lounge on the 51st floor for a relaxed check-in experience.
We capped off our 2 week stay in Japan with 2 nights at this Andaz. It's pretty easy to get to via Subway which is always nice. The interior of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The service from check-in to check-out was phenomenal. We did room service and the breakfast buffet and all the food was excellent. My only knock would be that our TV didnt have any streaming capabilities at all, and it was unexpected for being such a nice property. But overall, still a stunning stay!
Sam R — Google review
We had a great 2 nights stay here. Nice location for us, really easy access to Hibiya line and Ginza line. All the staffs are kind and helpful, exceptional service. Guest room is spacious and well designed, and the tokyo tower view is spectacular. Food quality was good, delicious. Really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back to here again.
Lance L — Google review
Room: Stayed in the Sky Suite, amazing view of Tokyo Tower with no blockage at all. Room is spacious and beautifully designed. Love the B&O sound system. Service: Very good. Staff are polite, everything handled smoothly and efficiently. Restaurant: Had dinner at Tavern and the Sushi, both were excellent with great service. Also visited the rooftop bar, Leo was such a delight, very professional and friendly. Location: Great location in Toranomon Hills, easy access to anywhere in Tokyo. The hotel has opened for quite a while but is super well maintained. Andaz has its perks but still The UB would be my favourite hotel at Toranomon Hills because of their impeccable service.
Don C — Google review
We stayed 4 nights and it was lovely. I enjoyed the gym and pool. The room was spacious and the service was fantastic. We had breakfast every morning and it was delicious and seemed to have high quality ingredients, lots of options as well. It was a little difficult navigating to the hotel, especially on the first day. The subway station was about a 5 minute walk and i appreciated that it wasn’t in the smack of town. Made it quieter. Everything was high quality down to the hair dryer they offered - I will definitely be staying again when I visit Tokyo.
Madison B — Google review
Absolutely incredible service. I accidentally lost my ring during my stay, and the staff went above and beyond to locate it and return it to me. Their attentiveness and kindness were truly on another level. From the warm greetings to the thoughtful follow-up, every interaction felt genuine and personal. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it truly exceptional. Highly recommend Andaz Tokyo — they define what real hospitality means.
Hoyong C — Google review
What a wonderful experience at the Andaz. Stayed here only for a night. Booked through Hyatt Rewards, 40,000 points for a King Bedroom and to our surprise, the hotel generously upgraded us for no charge to a 2 bed room suite on the 47th floor. The hotel and rooms are beautifully designed, perfectly appointed artwork, furniture and design. Staff are helpful and warm from the moment you walk into the 1st floor bellman station to the guidance to the 52nd floor lobby to check in. Breath taking views from our room and any room since the hotel occupies the top floors. You don't need to fight for a time to go to Shibuya Sky because your room is just as high. You can see Tokyo Tower from some of the public spaces. Hotel and area are very quiet and quaint compared to the rest of Tokyo. Nestled inside a business forward area versus a tourist forward area like Shinjuku, Ginza or Shibuya. There is a near by train ride, but you are not off the main Yamamote line. Tokyo Station is less than 10 minutes away by taxi/uber.
Christine N — Google review
Arriving with no expectations, I was wonderfully surprised. The reception is on the 51st floor, and to reach the rooms you take a different set of elevators—plus there's a hidden elevator to the rooftop... it all adds to the unique atmosphere. The hotel is of a high standard, both in terms of service and overall quality. Cleanliness, room amenities, spaciousness – everything was a big plus. Breakfasts were strictly European, but everything was very tasty. Personally, I missed a touch of local cuisine, though the quality was impeccable. The drinks at the rooftop bar were delicious, with an added surprise – a waiter who served us in Polish. The afternoon treats in the lobby were another pleasant experience. The staff’s attention to guest comfort is definitely one of the hotel’s strong points. According to my child, the pool was also top-notch. Thank you for a lovely family stay – we’ll be back if the opportunity arises. PS, the view of Tokyo Tower – simply priceles
Natalia G — Google review
The Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is not just a hotel — it’s a living gallery that captures Japan’s artistic soul through contemporary design. Every corner reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and cultural storytelling, where tradition and modernity coexist seamlessly. The aesthetic journey begins the moment you step inside. The warm interplay of walnut wood, bronze accents, and washi paper textures creates a calm yet sophisticated atmosphere. Each material feels intentional, speaking to Japanese minimalism and the art of restraint. Even the elevators are transformed into installations — featuring intricate three-dimensional washi artworks by Tetsuya Nagata, inspired by traditional wooden molds used in wagashi making. Throughout the public spaces, natural light and handcrafted details invite quiet appreciation. The lobby’s “Infinite Universe” wood mosaic by Shigemitsu Kotaka anchors the space, while subtle lighting enhances the organic textures of stone and paper. Guest rooms continue the dialogue between nature and design, framed by panoramic city views that turn Tokyo’s skyline into a living canvas. Deep soaking tubs and clean architectural lines further echo the Japanese philosophy of balance and renewal. What makes Andaz Tokyo special is its authenticity. The collaboration with local artisans ensures the space isn’t just beautiful — it’s meaningful. Every element has a story, from the handcrafted kumiko patterns to the rooftop bar inspired by traditional teahouses. For art and design lovers, Andaz Tokyo is a masterpiece of sensory and cultural harmony. It’s a place where you don’t just stay — you experience Tokyo through light, texture, and craftsmanship.

Nestled in the historic Nihonbashi district, Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is a luxurious high-rise hotel offering stunning city views and top-notch amenities. The hotel boasts 10 restaurants, including three Michelin-starred options, and an upscale spa. The lavish decor features textiles and weavings crafted by Japanese artisans using traditional techniques.
I had an amazing stay at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff at the concierge. They were not only professional but also extremely helpful, answering my question and sending my luggage go my room. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Best of all, my west-facing room let me catch stunning sunsets each evening—such a lovely little luxury that made the space feel extra special. The hotel's breakfast spread was outstanding. The restaurant is located at 38/F with a nice view. There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes like eggs and bacon. The coffee was also excellent, a great way to start the day. The location of the hotel is perfect. It's close to many restaurants, shops, and public transportation. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo was absolutely unreal. From the moment we arrived, every detail was perfectly thought out. The level of service, the atmosphere, and the genuine care shown by the staff made this experience truly exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Valentina and Chikana Kigami, who both went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out and made us feel so welcome. The hotel is incredibly lucky to have them on the team! From the breathtaking city views to the flawless service and thoughtful touches throughout, everything about this stay exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to come back, it was truly a five-star experience in every way.

My friends and I enjoyed afternoon tea service here on Halloween and it was an absolutely luxurious and magical experience. I've been to many afternoon tea services around the world and this one was easily the best I've ever been to. The ambiance was beautiful, the staff was incredibly polite and attentive, and the tea offerings were delicious and varied. The Halloween theming on the pastries was particularly adorable!! What blew me away most of all, however, was how thoroughly the staff attended to my specific dietary restrictions. I was contacted well in advance, my exact restrictions were noted and clarified, and a completely alternative tower was custom made for me. Completely unrelated to the tea service, I had to make an unexpected health-related request, which was immediately and thoroughly accommodated with the utmost respect and kindness. I truly was not expecting this degree of service, especially as I was not a guest of the hotel, and I was so touched! I highly recommend the afternoon tea service and I hope to stay in this lovely establishment the next time I visit Tokyo :)
R D — Google review
Ahh I really wanted to like this hotel, I would give it a 3.5/5 if possible tbf. Stayed here for 7 nights. Biggest callout was definitely the service which was hit or miss. For example the french (?) gentleman who usually answered our room service calls is amazing! You'd think he owned the restaurant with how attentive and charming he was. But other staff could seem disinterested, and average, not what you'd expect from a MO in asia which are known for high class service. Random example: the woman who sat us at breakfast one morning forced my gf to go change her shoes (out of the hotel provided slippers) due to "safety" despite other guests wearing the same slippers at the buffett. Room was decent, okay size but for the tier of hotel and the price it was just average. Dated finishes, a single sink and inefficient use of space compared to somewhere of similar price like The Peninsula. Great views from the 36th floor really was the saving grace for an average room. The special Halloween themed high tea was great, which actually let us leave on a high note. Idk.. the place was nice but if we didn't get a big discount due to their 20 yr anniversary our room would've been over $1500 a night which to me is crazy. For similar price I'd 100% say stay at The Peninsula, or try one of the Four Seasons properties.
Nick B — Google review
From the moment we arrived we had a 5 star experience. We booked the MO on our way out of Japan after two weeks of touring around the country for our 15 year wedding anniversary. This was our final treat on a wonderful trip. Right when we checked in we were escorted to our room, shortly after were brought a tray of fresh fruit that felt so personal and thoughtful. That evening we had a couples massage with full use of the spa beforehand. The spa was gorgeous with views that no words could do justice. The massages were phenomenal with the utmost attention to the details provided and care to make sure we were comfortable and felt relaxed. This was one of the best spa experiences we’ve have ever had. Once our spa treatment was over we didn’t have anything planned for dinner as we had been traveling all day, however, the spa called down to one of the restaurants to get us a last minute reservation to Senses (which was delicious). We had such a relaxing evening and slept lake a baby in such comfortable beds. The following day we had afternoon tea in the lounge that I had previously booked. The front desk held our bags while we enjoyed tea, as we were headed to the airport shortly after. Afternoon tea was a whole experience, with a wonderful presentation. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and helpful in every way. None other compares. Wonderful experience.

The most beautiful hotel with top views in Tokyo, when I first arrived, I really liked their lobby, it was clean, fragrant, and magnificent. Their rooms are also big and I got a very clean room and the bathroom was magnificent. It feels like it's not enough if I only stay here for 3 days 🥹....the food in their restaurant has no failed products, everything is delicious until I'm addicted. They deserve to be called a 5-star and luxurious hotel in Tokyo.
Salma H — Google review
The facility is outstanding. Not at the level of the Aman but not far off. Amenities in the room are excellent. Having the blinds open automatically when the front door to the room opens and allowing one to lift both lids of the Toto would increase the score to a 9. Service and responsiveness is classic for Japan. At least 70 percent of ALL staff go the extra mile for your guests. Given the turnover in your staff, this is a very high number. The head of food and beverage, Moritz, the head concierge (from India), and the GM (from France) are accessible on the property all the time. I owned a chain of boutique restaurants for twenty years. These are the kind of señior management which make a good hotel great. Housekeeping gets a 10. Several of the ladies at breakfast get a 10+ for their consistent ability to deal with troublesome and annoying guests. Front desk could smile a bit more. Breakfast is top of class. The ability of the staff to handle an overloaded rush is admirable. The food rocks. Downstairs in reception is another 10. They got us into cabs and gave directions without prompting. Very good "look" for the hotel both with respect to guests and visitors.

This Mandarin Oriental is beautifully maintained. The service is top notch. Though it doesn’t offer full scale Japanese breakfast like other hotels I have stayed in Tokyo, its breakfast still is good. The view from our room was not the greatest because the tall buildings around, but the view from the lady’s spa is spectacular. The guest room itself is very spacious, and I liked its soothing nature color tone and its bamboo floor. The neighborhood around the hotel is nice and peaceful with department stores and rows of restaurants, very nice to walk. The Sushi Shin restaurant inside the hotel is highly recommended as well.

Nestled in Tokyo's second-tallest building, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo offers luxurious accommodations with breathtaking views of the city. Situated above Tokyo Midtown in the lively Roppongi district, this upscale hotel boasts top-notch dining options including contemporary French cuisine and Japanese fare. Guests can enjoy complimentary access to the health club featuring an indoor lap pool and indulge in spacious guest rooms with impressive vistas of Mt. Fuji, Imperial Palace gardens, or Tokyo Tower.
I had the pleasure of staying at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo during two different visits in June 2025, and both experiences were simply outstanding. From the moment you arrive, you’re met with world-class hospitality — the bellmen deliver unparalleled service, and the concierge team sets the standard for excellence with their attention to detail and thoughtful recommendations. The city skyline views from both the rooms and the Club Lounge are absolutely breathtaking — a mesmerizing mix of elegance and energy that captures Tokyo’s spirit perfectly. The Club Lounge, in particular, is a highlight: serene, beautifully designed, and offering exquisite food and beverages throughout the day. Every detail at this property embodies five-star perfection. From its incredible location to the flawless service, The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo remains, without question, the best hotel in Tokyo.

Best to avoid. High cost and low service level, especially at the reception. Even as a platinum guest the experience was totally below expected. No club lounge and no free breakfast for Platinum, room upgrades just to next tier, never to a suite. I understand this is hotel policy but does not mean it makes any sense, plus the service too sucks. Not sure why one should be paying so much money to stay at this place. The staff at the reception needs coaching in service, hard to imagine this in Japan but here we are. The breakfast has limited option. 3 types of eggs are 3 different main dish options..scrambled, omelette and fried is three different main course option to give you the illusion of choice. Most top hotels (even 4 star) would just give you egg any style as one single option. Such a limited breakfast spread for a high end property, very underwhelming. If you are willing to spend this much, go to other 5 star properties. This one is all brand and no value.

Afternoon Tea at The Ritz-Carlton (Business Use Review) Positives ・The overall quality of both food and beverages was excellent. Everything tasted refined and well-prepared, with beautiful presentation. ・The tea selection was diverse and paired nicely with the dishes. ・Although I did not confirm the actual price, if the cost were around 6,000 JPY per person, it would feel like good value for the experience. It is likely higher in reality, but still justifiable considering the quality. Areas for Improvement ・The iced tea served at the beginning was noticeably inconsistent. The color and appearance varied so much between glasses that they looked like completely different teas. Some were rich and well-balanced, while others looked pale and watered down, almost as if ice had already melted. When we asked if they were the same tea, the staff simply replied, “Yes, it’s the same,” without offering any explanation or adjustment, even after we mentioned how weak it was. ・Service quality was inconsistent. For example, while we were still enjoying baked goods and naturally wanted something to drink, three out of four cups were taken away. This made the experience less smooth, even though most of the service overall was pleasant. Note: The attached photos do not represent the full selection of items served. They show dishes specifically prepared for guests with egg and milk allergies

I don’t get it. I’ve always wanted to stay at a Ritz Carlton and now that I’ve done it I don’t get it. I’ve stayed at many different properties in many different countries and I can’t tell difference between a Ritz and say, JW Marriott. In fact, I’d put JW above the Ritz. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member you don’t get any benefits (breakfast, Lounge.) That’s fine, but the service overall and rooms are quite average. This is shocking considering this hotel is in Japan, where even lower end properties have superb. I typically make sure not to write a review immediately after a poor customer experience (there were a couple at this property) but now that I’ve had time to contemplate the overall experience I’d still say…I just done get it. There are many other brands out there that will give you better experience (and certainly better value)

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel about a week ago. The views are breath-taking from above the 45th floor where all the rooms are... The service was excellent - special shoutout to the breakfast crew as not only was the spread amazing between the Japanese and western options but also the service was top-notch and both at the restaurant and throughout the hotel the staff could not have been more kind or hospitable. The room was also spacious and comfortable.

This was the worst experience I've had at this hotel. I requested prepayment upon check-in, and they accommodated it. However, the next day, when I returned from breakfast, I was told I had an outstanding bill and was denied entry. I was made to wait 15 minutes at the entrance before being kicked out. I've stayed at Ritz-Carlton hotels in Japan, except for the one in Kyoto, but this was the first time I've ever experienced something like this. We were the only ones who weren't offered a welcome drink. Maybe they didn't like our Versace clothes because we had children with us, or maybe they thought we looked poor. It was a terrible surprise. I think only wealthy people should stay here. It was especially disappointing, especially since it was a hotel where a friend of mine used to work.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the hotel's Japanese Restaurant a few days ago. It was a true delight, the sushi and other dishes were exquisite. Above all - our Sushi Chef Kojima Hirofumi was just amazing: he is a true professional, with a wonderful attitude, excellent English and we had a wonderful experience thanks to him. Much appreciated! It's not suitable to be called a 5 star, the room is dirty, there was a strand of hair on my bed, even though I haven't slept in it, and there were flies on the food at breakfast, it was very dirty, the food didn't taste good. The staff are also not friendly at all, they only win because the view from the room is good, the rest is just ordinary, not interesting. Still inferior to Mandarin Oriental 😌

Best Hilton experience by a country mile!! We stayed at The Conrad for a few days so that we could attend an event in Tokyo and we were pleasantly surprised at how amazing it was. Our rooms was lovely, nice and spacious (I was a bit worried about room sizes in Tokyo), bathtub and shower, his and hers basin, all the bells and whistles expected of a Conrad. The views of too Bay from the room were lovely. Finally, the breakfast buffet was to die for, always nice to be able to start the day with such a lovely meal. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. If I make it back to Tokyo the Conrad will definitely be a must.

My stay at the Conrad Tokyo was absolutely fantastic, largely thanks to the world-class service. The staff were incredibly attentive and professional, but a few individuals truly made our experience special. A perfect example was the wonderful service from Mayumi and Asako. I had received a Conrad bear from a previous stay in Osaka and messaged to ask if the Tokyo location had a similar one. Mayumi responded right away and had the Tokyo version delivered to my room. Later, after I sent a thank you photo, Asako and the team surprised me with one more! It was a completely unexpected and charming gesture that made me feel so welcome. A huge thank you to both of them for making my stay so memorable! The facilities are top-notch. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with breathtaking views of the city skyline and Tokyo Bay. The gym and spa are excellent, providing a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location is also a huge plus. While it feels serene and exclusive, it's incredibly convenient, being located right next to Shiodome station. This made getting around Tokyo a breeze. I can't recommend the Conrad Tokyo enough. It's a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, with a level of personalized service that is truly special.

We had an absolutely fantastic and memorable stay. Each time we returned to the hotel after exploring the city, it truly felt like coming home. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Monica in the Executive Lounge was especially kind and attentive, and Peter at the front desk made us feel genuinely cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better visit. Breakfasts were excellent… high quality, very tasty, and lots of variety. Also, all the amenities were top notch and our son in particular enjoyed the fully equipped gym. The location is convenient to public transit, though a bit removed from most points of interest. That said, Ginza is within walking distance, which was very convenient.

Truly outstanding experience. Received a fantastic suite upgrade—status definitely respected! A huge bonus: Liverpool FC was staying here! What an event for my kid! We had a small issue with smoke from the air cooler, but the service was incredible. They immediately brought an air purifier, and the main manager checked on us personally. Great suite, great service, great memories. I will absolutely return.

Outstanding 5 night stay at Conrad Tokyo as Hilton Diamond member. Received complimentary upgrade from Bay View King to Bay View Suite. Great hotel, but staff made the stay even better. In house food and beverage was very good, from morning buffet to executive lounge to Chinese restaurant - all were solid. The lobby bar on the 28th floor was a great place to relax and listen to live music. In ~15 seatings throughout the hotel, only one time did we not get a window table, and we never had to ask. Assistant GM Hiroya Peter is best in the business, he welcomed us from check-in and kept track of us for the entire stay making sure we had an outstanding stay. Shout out to the Conceirge team for all the recommendations, directions and securing us the best two seats at PST. And the fitness, pool and spa facilities were top notch, had an absolutely perfect two hour spa treatment. Overall, one of the best hotels in the world. Highly recommend Conrad Tokyo for any world travelers.

We frequent a lot of luxury hotel brands but this place absolutely blew us away! We decided to stay at Conrad Tokyo for 2 days for our anniversary staycation and the level of service, included amenities, as well as the food were all top notch. My wife absolutely loved her time here I’ve never seen her this satisfied compared to our stay at other luxury hotels. Special shoutout to Amika who made sure our stay here was as amazing as possible, thank you! If there was any regrets it is that we did not reserve an extra night and we would have if it wasn’t for our tight schedule. We will be coming back.

All I can say is wow. I had the most phenomenal stay during my time at Conrad Tokyo. From check-in, you are greeted by the most welcoming attentive employees. As a Diamond member, the woman who greeted me told me that I could check in at the Executive Lounge, but I opted to check in in the lobby. I was promptly given all of the information that I needed for my stay and informed that I had been upgraded to a room with the Bay View. The room is absolutely breathtaking and you could tell how meticulously thought out every detail of the room and the amenities were. I traveled solo but it would be an excellent size for up to three guests. I want to give a special shoutout to the turndown service - it was perfect in every way. Pajamas on the bed, water on the bedside tables, all of your products placed meticulously on a towel in the bathroom, peaceful spa music playing, and most importantly, a new bear each night! I stayed in October and got a special Halloween bear. The Executive Lounge was a true highlight, mostly due to the service. The people are truly excellent there and are extremely attentive. I will say that the food is not extremely memorable in the lounge, but I did enjoy breakfast, particularly the uni eggs and lobster omelet! I think the lobster omelet was truly spectacular, but that can also be found in the regular breakfast dining, which has a lot more options generally. I had dinner at Collage one of my nights with an 8 or 9 course meal. It was an exceptional meal that you can tell a lot of thought was put into. The service was also impeccable! I highly recommend for something a little more alternative. It was definitely French/Japanese fusion. The day that I had to leave was truly a sad day. I am already planning my next trip to Japan and lining up as much possible time to stay at Conrad Tokyo.

HIGASHIYA GINZA is an elegant and upscale shop that offers a modern take on traditional Japanese sweets and tableware. Their specialty lies in wagashi, which are Japanese confections made with ingredients like rice flour, pounded fruits, and red bean paste. The shop's small, spherical creations have a unique texture that dissolves on the tongue, offering unexpected combinations such as matcha and raisin or chestnuts and brandy.
We reserved a pairing menu that include five variety of japanese sweets and teas. This menu provides us to try best 5 pairings in their place.I had epic harmonies in our months which we have never tasted before.No.2 and 4 parings were special, no.2 is ginger and honey white bean paste sweets,no.4 is pumpkin and cream cheese sweets, these combinations took me a new world in a very good way.You can purchase those sweets at their store. Must reserve when you visit HIGASHIYA GINZA.

The decor was amazing and we were so impressed with the attention to detail for everything from service to design. The tea they offer were also great. We also love some of the dessert they offer. The food was not that special I. It’s say. However, it was a nice experience and we enjoyed it. Note that you are only allowed to take photos of the dishes on your table and not the atmosphere. Guess you will have to go see to enjoy it yourself. Highly recommend if you want to see some amazing decor.

HIGASHIYA in Ginza is a place where you truly feel harmony. Every detail is filled with a sense of aesthetics, from the interior to the presentation. The wagashi look like little works of art, capturing the seasons and the breath of nature. The atmosphere is calm, almost meditative, which makes it easy to savor every flavor. I loved how tradition and modernity blend here so naturally and subtly. It’s more than just a confectionery—it’s a unique experience that stays with you.

Amazing! We wanted to find a true Japanese tea experience before our departure tomorrow. Fantastic choices of matcha (I'll add other pictures shortly), tasty small bites (the citrus and persimmon ones were my favrites). Service beyond anything we have been used to, extremely informative and detailed. Plus.. the reason why I'm posting pictures of the interior is that it's so incredibly beautiful. All those furniture pieces... jaw dropping. I'm normally not posting any bathroom pictures but also that private room... amazing. 10/10. A must go and must see.

A hidden gem among the bustling streets of Ginza. Higashiya Ginza is a meditative experience. I felt relaxed, welcomed, nurtured and energized through the sacred art of tea. The masterful execution is evident in the distinct flavor of matcha. It wasn't as bitter as the ceremonial quality I've tasted before. The matcha is grown in Kyoto and it was subtle, smooth and refreshing. The selection of sweets was divine, each bite of wagashi paired perfectly. Attentive staff were present and not rushed. It was an elegant experience that one can only appreciate in Japan. Sorry you hipster cities but execution in Japan is on another level, the service is unmatched. If you're in the Ginza area you definitely want to stop by. Reservations are encouraged but we were able to get a table as walk-ins. There's also a gift shop to purchase a selection of teas and sweets.

If there is a perfect hotel, Shangrila Tokyo would be it. I and my family spent a wonderful vacation here. Taking elderly parents for a trip is a lot of work and Shangrila made my trip into a true delight. The room is specious. Spotless and tidy all the times. The coffee machine is as clean as my own ones in the house. Delicious breakfast with abundant choices. Both Japanese style and western ones are top notch. Their concierge service is the best. They help us book several hit restaurants. They also picked us up from Shinkansen platform upon our arrival and sent us to the Narita express after check out.Tokyo station is huge and can be confusing, even if you have been there a few times. The front desk perfectly fulfilled our emailed requests, and the service, especially from the B1 staff, was warm, respectful, and made us feel genuinely valued. I had a wonderful experience at bills Ginza. The food was absolutely delicious. Our table ordered the scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado, as well as the ricotta pancakes with banana and honeycomb butter. Both dishes were excellent, with generous portions, but the pancakes were definitely the highlight. They’re comparable to the famous ones at A Happy Pancake, but honestly, I thought these were even better. The setting itself is lovely. It’s modern, stylish, and located on the top floor in the Ginza area with a clean and aesthetic vibe. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable, not noisy at all, which made it easy to enjoy a nice conversation while dining. Overall, I’d highly recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a spot in Tokyo with great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and some of the best pancakes around.

The French Kitchen is a spacious and sophisticated venue that offers a variety of French dishes and buffets. Located in Roppongi, it's known for its luxurious and cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect place for a long and decadent breakfast or brunch. The Grand Weekend Brunch is particularly popular, offering an extensive buffet with meats, salads, deli bites, fresh bread, desserts, and even champagne. The restaurant also features outdoor tables for those who prefer al fresco dining.
While visiting from the US, my husband & I were able to partake in the Lucky Rabbit Strawberry Afternoon Tea here. The service & staff were top-notch & the venue was very elegant. Our waiter was able to communicate in perfect English to us that the tea was "self-serve buffet-style" and gave us a good selection of drinks we could choose from (3 teas are the designated choices and others are coffee/juice). The various sandwiches, pastries, and desserts were all very high-quality & delicious...I wish that I could have eaten more. I would love to do another afternoon tea here again if we are ever in the area :)

We dined here for the Halloween themed Afternoon Tea . The front desk was very crowded and we were all eventually seated after few minutes . We had reserved a table in advance but I wasn’t happy with our table facing the hallway PC and there was a ladder that didn’t add up to the ambiance. Service was good, not excellent. Coming to the tea selection, there were good options. And afternoon tea menu was seasonal and done to perfection keeping the theme at every bite . I had requested for vegetarian savory items(burger and crepe )and they were delicious. The scones were on the heavier side. The cakes and chocolates were indulgent and the flavors were spot on. The pudding was on the sweeter side, wish it had a fruit in it. The staff should have been much more attentive and warm. Overall, a satisfying experience . But not sure if I would go back .

Couple weeks back we came here for their: The French Kitchen’s Crab and Roast Beef Semi-Buffet Dinner with Seasonal Desserts There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about our unforgettable night gorging ourselves for 3+ hours! The king crab- so delicious. You have no idea how much 800g of crab this really is. My wife could not finish even half of hers, so I helped her out. The roast beef- I swear I must have gone up 6 times, getting 2 slices each time. Such a high quality beef- it was so tender, so tasty, and perfectly cooked (bloody rare in the middle sections). The sauces they had made it too difficult to choose from so I tried them all. And they were really great. The softshell crabs - of these were off the hook, soooo good! Can't count how many I downed, but I know it was an obscene amount. The remainder- they also served some salads and a crab gratin pasta dish which was good. But had to concentrate on the beef and crabs because there was only so much you can eat when eating at an all you can eat buffet. The desserts were very yummy and had just enough room left to do some damage in this department as well. The level of service was incredible. The quality of food was unreal. This was our first time coming here for a buffet, and it will not be our last! I can't wait to see what their next buffet will be.

We came for their king crab and roast beef buffet special. Everything except the crab was great. The crab itself was so dry and I think they cooked it all that morning then stored in a refrigerator where it dried out to almost jerky consistency and lacked depth of flavor. Very disappointing. However the roast beef was delicious as well as the side dishes like fried soft shell crab and crab gratin.

Perfect place to stop by for an afternoon tea that has a perfect balance of sweets and savouries. A couple of months ago I tried the Takashi Murakami Flower Afternoon tea set here. Though kinda pricey, the flower themed desserts and savouries were not a feast for the eyes but were quite delicious. Loved the selection of organic teas from “Art of Tea” collection as well. Worth a visit if you are a fan of afternoon tea sets.

Perched on the 38th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo hotel, the Oriental Lounge offers a stunning panoramic view of central Tokyo. This inviting space serves as the heart of the hotel, providing a cozy atmosphere for guests to gather over meals, coffee, or drinks while taking in the breathtaking cityscape. Visitors rave about the beautiful Afternoon Tea set and unparalleled views from their tables.
Amazing afternoon tea. Great variety of food, very intricate and difficult to prepare. Beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious. The tea options are also numerous, and can change with each glass. Reservation recommend.

Had their summer afternoon tea here. The view was phenomenal (especially from the bathroom). The treats with the tea was lackluster, the savory ones weren’t to my liking and the sweet treats were just okay.
Chau Y — Google review
We had a classic burger with fries, a vegan mushroom burger with a leaf salad, and some drinks. Although expensive (as expected from this type of place), the food was actually delicious, and the portions were satisfying! The view was beautiful, but the interior felt a bit outdated. The service was good, though definitely simpler compared to K’shiki restaurant, which is in the same location.

BEAUTIFUL! Everything about this place is beautiful! The Afternoon Tea set was the best I've had so far anywhere and the views from our table was unparalleled! The staff were very friendly, attentive and very helpful to all our requests. Even offered to take out photos without us asking for it! I was remiss to have not asked the name of the server who attended to us, but she was very good! Everyone here also spoke excellent English, among the best of all the hotels I've visited in Tokyo!

The service was impeccable and very considerate. They kindly took note that its our wedding anniversary as well. View was superb, and the food was excellent.

The best afternoon tea in Tokyo. It’s a proper five star experience. Exquisite teas, cakes, jams and savouries as well as service. The menu never disappoints. They also serve real clotted cream, which is exceptionally rare in Japan.

The best afternoon tea in Tokyo. The food is both beautiful to look at and delicious, and they offer an impressive selection of teas. It is also possible to arrange a special menu for vegetarians/those with allergies if you call in advance.

We visited here for afternoon tea and left very happy. The staff is very professional and efficient. We loved being able to try multiple teas and they offer coffee/espresso drinks as well. The desserts were so amazing and the entire set up was their special festive menu, total was 55k yen per person

The InterContinental - ANA Tokyo, an IHG Hotel offers luxurious rooms and suites, featuring a seasonal outdoor pool and a spa for relaxation. The hotel is known for its exquisite dining options, including a French restaurant by Pierre Gagnaire, teppanyaki steak spot, and sushi bar. Guests can indulge in the limited-time Matcha Collection event with a dessert buffet and afternoon tea showcasing fragrant green tea creations.
Amazing hotel from all points of view! The staff is extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. The Club Intercontinental Lounge was our favourite part, a special mention to Raphael and his team who took great care of us and made us feel at home during our stay. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect to explore the city, with taxis readily available and a metro station located few steps away. We had a great stay!
Laure Z — Google review
Great Rooms, But Disappointing Service I recently stayed at the InterContinental Tokyo and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the rooms were impressive – very spacious, modern, and extremely clean. The attention to detail in maintaining the room was clear, and it was a comfortable environment to relax in after a busy day. However, the service didn’t live up to the hotel’s reputation. I was disappointed with the attitude of the staff, as they seemed indifferent and sometimes unhelpful. While I expect high standards from a luxury hotel, the lack of warmth and attention to guest needs was noticeable. I feel like the staff could have been more attentive and polite, especially given the premium price you’re paying for the stay. InterContinental is international chain and the service must be perfect! Staff training in customer service is urgently needed, as the current service level does not align with the hotel’s standards. In conclusion, while the room quality at the InterContinental Tokyo is fantastic, the service leaves much to be desired. If they improve their customer service, it could easily be a top-notch experience. I would definitely Not recommend this hotel.

Just fabulous! Stayed here for a week in September 2025. My last visit here was 6 years ago, the hotel is as good as ever. I was told the rooms have been upgraded which showed, our room was excellent with the bathroom such a clever design with modern slick fitout. Staff were amazing the whole time, helping us with anything. We splashed out for a club room which gives access to the awesome club lounge, I'd highly recommend this if budget allows. Thank you and well done to all the ANA hotel team. We can't wait to be back!

Great value for money. We have been staying with my family in connecting rooms with view on the Tokyo tower. The staff was always very welcoming. The rooms and amenities are top notch. The two only comments I can make are first about the location if you come for tourism. It’s not so close from the metro. And the closest line is ginza line which is often very crowded. The second comment can turn positive or negative depending on each individual but the hall is heavily air conditioned. We were there in October and it was still the case. The restaurant for the breakfast is served in the hall.

Really exceptional. I stayed here as a kid when i won an essay contest for a Pikachu car and a trip for 4 to Japan. It has only gotten better. The suite had an amazing view and fantastic wet room. The club lounge team was just so nice. Nagano Hiromi and Raphael in particular made the experience so pleasant. I am forgetting other names and I am sorry for it because one person checked me in for cocktail hour each night and was exceptional. I was in for a wedding and the couple joined me together one night and Nagano-san and Raphael helped make them feel very honored and welcome before dinner at La Paix. Hard to find a single fault. Thank you very much for welcoming me back
Brendan W — Google review
i had high hopes for my stay here as i was staying in many different hotels with club lounge access, with this hotel also being a 3 night stay in a club room. the location being akasaka with a direct line of sight to the diet with the prime ministers office in the foreground and the imperial palace in the background...but sadly i must leave a mixed review. worse still i dont think i will return. there were moments of brilliance from staff but also some letdowns. the cleaning i think could be better, everything looks clean on the surface but in my room and in the lounge we founds stains on surfaces. some room inclusions were lovely like the teabags but no razor is provided. food and drink wise i loved the wine selections but was hoping for much stronger exposure to local foods. thank you for a nice stay.
G L — Google review
Loved pretty much everything, the location, the room (the most amazing toilet seat ever), the bed, the staff, the breakfast. I also had a massage and my god - was one of the best ones ever. I should have stayed longer. Sadly can’t comment on the pool and the gym, ran out of time. For some, the common areas could feel a bit of 90s conference hotel. Zero cool young vibes, but ok, just a small subjective piece of aesthetics. The room itself was fab!
B — Google review
This hotel is modern, clean and extremely quiet. The customer service at this hotel went above and beyond. My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary in a club room and not only did we arrive to flowers and chocolates on the bed but when we had cocktails at the club lounge the staff made us an anniversary platter, took a photo and then delivered it to our room with nice comments on it. We were extremely touched by this gesture and it made our night. I can't wait to return and spend more time in Tokyo.

Nestled in the bustling business district, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi offers a sophisticated and intimate experience with its 57 rooms. The hotel features two restaurants, a bar, and a rooftop terrace, as well as a spa and indoor pool for guests to unwind. MOTIF, the flagship restaurant, provides a farm-to-table experience with traditional French dishes showcasing local ingredients and also offers an elegant afternoon tea. The ultra-contemporary rooms boast high-tech amenities and city views.
Each Four Seasons is different depending on the country and region, but the one we stayed at was exceptionally clean, welcoming, and truly memorable. The room had a beautiful view with no need for an upgrade, and it was very spacious. We also loved the little “Easter egg” touches like the cute welcome gifts and handwritten notes—while the treats themselves weren’t particularly delicious, the gesture was thoughtful and charming. Housekeeping was excellent. Every time we left the room, they carefully folded clothes, organized shoes, and tidied personal items, which was impressive. The only downside was that the bathtub didn’t feel completely clean and the bath pillow had a strong water-like odor, which was a bit off-putting. Breakfast was consistently wonderful, and the staff was always friendly. The highlight for us was the French toast—it’s a must-try. We also tried the connected Michelin-starred restaurant, but honestly, we would not recommend it. On the other hand, we visited the hotel’s bar (listed on Asia’s 50 Best Bars). While the atmosphere wasn’t extraordinary, the mocktail and cocktail we ordered were both enjoyable. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked spotless and inviting, and the fitness center was excellent. The location was convenient as well—there’s a subway station right outside, plus a 7-Eleven open late and a Starbucks just across the street. The only small inconvenience was that the hotel walkway and the waiting cars outside were a bit too close together, which felt tight when coming in and out. Overall, it was a fantastic stay with outstanding service, cleanliness, and comfort. We left with a great impression and would be happy to return.

We had a wonderful stay here recently. Booked via the Amex FHR program. Our 4-night stay was perfect in every way! Beautiful, luxurious, modern, serene, quiet rooms (never heard a peep from other rooms, guests, or hallway noise). Clean, comfortable furnishings, linens, and soft waffle knit pajamas (loved those!). Appreciated the tidyness and organization built into the room, as well as displayed by the staff. They wrapped up our charging cables, left notes during turndown with the weather forecast for the next day, etc. That attention to detail was greatly appreciated. The decadent breakfast buffet (included with the Amex program) was a wonderful way to start off every morning. The location is very convenient with multiple subway lines in the basement of the building, along with eateries, Tully's Coffee, and a 7-11. Tokyo Station is only a 15 min walk away if the lines under the building don't take you where you want to go. It felt like stepping into an oasis every time we got off the elevator. We didn't want to leave. 😂 We received amazing service from every single hotel staff person we interacted with. Four Seasons Otemachi has set the bar for all of our hotel stays in the future. Would love to stay here again someday!

Our second stay at the Four Seasons was even more perfect than the first, and we are already planning our third visit! The entire experience was beautifully seamless from start to finish. Every team member contributed to making our stay exceptional. The concierge team worked magic to secure a coveted booking at a Michelin-starred restaurant for us. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient, and the housekeeping team maintained our room with impeccable care and attention. A special mention goes to the team behind the Four Seasons app—the ability to coordinate everything so effortlessly truly elevates the modern luxury experience. Thank you for making us feel so incredibly well taken care of. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to returning soon.

Wow, what a hotel experience that was! The service was exceptional — so consistent, so attentive, and simply perfect. The hotel and rooms are stunning, and the moment you step inside, you feel like you’ve entered an oasis, completely isolated from the bustling city outside. The swimming pool and heat area with panoramic views over Tokyo are just incredible — we managed to kill a 7-hour jet lag in a single day there :-))

I stayed here in winter of 2024 for a night on my birthday. The hotel is lovely, the location is 10/10, however, the service especially at the restaurant I dined in which was an Italian restaurant was very poor. Waited for almost an hour for our entree just to enjoy an overcooked pasta dish. Yes, it was a last minute request to accommodate two people but they were really not busy and it was extremely unprofessional and all we got was reduced bill without the late overcooked pasta we received and apology. This could have definitely handled well but it wasn’t hence I am not sure if this would be first preference for a luxury stay in Tokyo.

My stay at the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi was nothing short of outstanding. The rooms combine understated luxury with a spectacular view of the Tokyo skyline. Every interaction with the staff was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive — they truly go above and beyond. The bar and dining experience were equally impressive, offering both ambiance and world-class taste. A place where modern elegance meets calm perfection — I can’t wait to return.

Absolutely beautiful location. Everyone was respectful and welcoming. The food was great and Virtu is a must see. Rooms were spacious, quiet and clean with great views. Only drawback is that there were “influencers” using the hotels dining area as a staging point for their ridiculous photoshoot. We were attempting to have breakfast while two people took the opportunity to take staged pictures with professional equipment for 20 minutes directly in front of us. The hotel should absolutely ban this type of behavior as it has no place here; it strips the place of decorum and lowers the quality of the experiences guests are otherwise paying to have.

The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon is a luxurious hotel located in the upscale Toranomon area of Tokyo. The hotel offers elegant accommodations and chic dining options, including The Jade Room + Garden Terrace led by Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens. Guests can enjoy a sophisticated cocktail experience at the Gold Bar at EDITION.
That modern minimalist Japanese aesthetic shines through in this magnificent property. The service and hospitality is impeccable and down to the smallest details. I tend to leave a mess of a charging cable octopus next to my bed. I came back in, it was all properly tied neatly. The turn down service prepped my bed to really feel so inviting for the night’s sleep after a night out of town. The staff at the lobby are mostly multi lingual and offered easier communication. The view from my room is stunning, Tokyo Tower was up close offering a nice backdrop to such an enjoyable stay!

I stayed at The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon from September 19–24, 2025, and it was simply outstanding! ✨ After a disappointing experience at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka, this hotel truly felt like balm for the soul. From the very beginning, everything was flawless: • The breakfast team was incredibly warm and thoughtful. When our window table was accidentally double-booked, they surprised us with a waffle decorated with “We wish you a wonderful day” – such a small gesture, yet so touching. • Hotel Manager Chiko Kitaoka was wonderful and kindly arranged a late check-out for us. • The concierge and front desk staff were always friendly, supportive, and genuinely attentive. • Our room was fantastic, with a breathtaking view over Tokyo. This stay exceeded all my expectations and became a true highlight of my Japan trip. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel – an unforgettable experience! 🇯🇵💫
Ralf R — Google review
We really wanted to love this hotel—but it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. During our stay, we tried to book a table for sunset at the lobby bar. What followed was a complete service failure. First, the bar reception told us it was first-come-first-serve and that reservations weren’t possible. We were shocked—last year, we had a confirmed reservation for the same bar at the same time. Later that evening, we asked again at the reception desk. The staff repeated the same line until we mentioned our Platinum and Gold status. Only then did he say he would “try” to see if he could reserve a table for us. When we asked if he could call us back to confirm, his response was unbelievable: he said he couldn’t call guests back and that we would need to message him through the app to follow up. At a so-called five-star hotel, this is absurd. The next day, we asked again—this time we were told the lobby was fully booked. Only after escalating to a manager did we finally get a table in our own hotel. The experience at Gold Bar was equally poor. Staff were inattentive and dismissive—we had to stand up to ask for service and even to request the bill. There were many other disappointing moments: • No recognition of our Bonvoy status at check-in. • No mention or attempt at an upgrade. • Staff tried to avoid offering our welcome drinks until we raised it At the spa, things weren’t any better. When we first inquired about massages, we were told the 60-minute option only covered the upper body. So we deliberately booked the 90-minute session to ensure a full-body treatment and specifically requested focus on our legs after weeks of walking in Japan. Despite this, the therapist spent less than ten minutes on our legs. For a 90-minute treatment, that is unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for guest requests. You’d think by paying top-dollar you will get the epitome of modern Japanese luxury—but what you actually get is a team of poorly trained, young, non-Japanese, and often pretentious staff who have no understanding of true hospitality. At times, we felt like we were dealing with nightclub bouncers rather than five-star hotel employees. Inside the Edition Toranomon, you don’t feel like you’re in Japan at all. After a full month across Japan staying in properties of all levels—even small, family-run ryokans—we can confidently say that every other place treated us with more warmth, respect, and professionalism than this. Despite being a long-time Bonvoy member, I will look elsewhere for future high-end stays in Tokyo. Japanese-owned brands still understand what true hospitality means. Special thanks to Diego from Concierge who was the opposite and was very helpful throughout our stay.

Going to Tokyo, Just for The View out of This Window Nestled into the deep blue sofa by the window, I look up to see the familiar crimson glow of Tokyo Tower, poised between skyscrapers, bathed in the soft veil of sunset, like a red seal stamped across the skyline. In this quiet nook, time slows as clouds drift past the tower’s spire. For a moment, it feels like I’m holding all of Tokyo’s romance in my arms. I didn’t come here just for the luxury, or the name. I came for this view—for this precise frame of glass that turns the city into poetry. Staying at The Edition wasn’t about the brand; it was about waking up to this window, every morning and every dusk. Because sometimes, one perfect view is enough to make an entire trip worthwhile.
Leon T — Google review
This hotel is absolutely incredible. The Tokyo Tower Premier Guest Room is breathtaking — the photos truly don’t do the view justice. Seeing Tokyo Tower lit up from your room feels surreal. The hospitality at The Edition is on another level. Every staff member goes out of their way to make your stay special — kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. You can tell they take pride in every detail. You won’t enter without multiple staff greeting you with smiles and won’t leave without multiple staff saying bye and being there in case you need assistance. I honestly think this place should be rated higher. The design, energy, and views are unmatched. It’s modern, luxurious, and feels effortlessly cool. I’d 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.
Sonul G — Google review
I’ve been to Tokyo seven times, and this stay at The Tokyo EDITION easily ranks among the best experiences I’ve ever had—not just in Japan, but anywhere in the world. The hotel itself embodies quiet luxury: modern design, breathtaking views, and a calm, sophisticated energy. But what truly separates this property is the extraordinary level of service. Bradley, the restaurant manager, deserves special recognition. Breakfast each morning became the highlight of my day because of the way he led his team—with warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. Bradley’s professionalism set the tone for the entire experience; he made every guest feel personally cared for, remembering details and ensuring each meal felt exceptional. The hosts and staff followed his example perfectly—gracious, poised, and consistently attentive. Their collective effort made my two-week stay feel seamless and memorable from start to finish. After seven trips to Tokyo, I can confidently say that The Tokyo EDITION is now my go-to home in the city. I’ll be a client for life, thanks to Bradley and the incredible team that made this visit truly unforgettable.
Taylor W — Google review
⚠️ Warning: one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. Everything here was disorganized, and the front desk staff showed a complete lack of professionalism and care. When an issue arose during check-out, they were dismissive, unhelpful, and even made up excuses instead of resolving it politely. You’d think that by paying top-dollar you would experience the epitome of modern Japanese luxury — but what you actually get is a team of poorly trained, mostly non-Japanese, and surprisingly pretentious staff who have little understanding of true hospitality. At times, it felt more like dealing with nightclub security than employees of a five-star hotel. There was also a male Asian staff member at the night reception, wearing glasses, who lied to me repeatedly about several things that were simply untrue. His attitude and lack of integrity were completely unacceptable for a property of this supposed standard. To make matters worse, after I checked out, I left a gift at the concierge desk for my friend, even carefully writing their name on it to ensure proper delivery. The staff accidentally gave it to someone else, and it went missing. No one even apologized or took responsibility until my friend personally came to the hotel to locate it. This level of carelessness and disorganization is shocking for a so-called luxury hotel. I expected courtesy, honesty, and accountability — none of which were shown. It felt as though guests’ time and concerns didn’t matter at all. I had been genuinely looking forward to this stay, but the uncaring and disorganized attitude of the staff completely ruined the experience. There was also a female Asian manager on duty who I thought would show more empathy and understanding, but unfortunately, she was equally unhelpful and dismissive. I want to warn everyone — do not stay here. Your money and peace of mind are far better spent elsewhere. I truly hope management reflects on this and improves their service standards.

We visited for afternoon tea in collaboration with Peter Rabbit at the request of a friend. The atmosphere was lovely, and the terrace was pleasant as the weather was not that bad. The afternoon tea was good, but the drinks were underwhelming. I was also disappointed that their service was not appropriate (good, fast, etc.) even though there were not so many guests, even if we called for them. I hope it will be improved.

I went for the strawberry sweets buffet. I made a reservation three weeks in advance. The week of the reservation I received a call telling me I'd need to cancel my reservation or select a different date...due to corona virus. I made the reservation during the state of emergency so I was confused. Hadn't they accounted for this? I called back and they couldn't explain why I needed to reschedule, only that it was unavoidable. I asked a Japanese friend to get more information for me and they gave her the run-around. She pressed the issue and they said they would call back. They called back and agreed to let us keep the reservation but moved the time slighly. We arrived at the venue and everything was fine. It was a little bit tacky, lots of Barbie paraphernalia mixed with floral wedding decorations. There were about a dozen or so strawberry dessert items, some served dishes and a strawberry chocolate fountain. Our table was unlike the others and was set apart in a corner. This was obviously an accommodation they made. Perhaps they overbooked? It worked to our advantage though because all the other tables were clustered together. The buffet had rules; you had to wait for your table number to be called and you could only go through the buffet once. While we waited, we were served a started plate with beet and potato salad and raw ham. It was pretty good. It was followed by a braised beef? dish that was great. I noticed my companions and the nearest tables I could see each received one or two large pieces of meat. My serving was little bits, and end pieces. I couldn't help but feel it might have been retribution for not accepting their proposed rescheduling request. The flavor was excellent and the meat was tender, so I happily ate it. The potatoes were creamy and flavorful. They served a white curry that was very nice. There was also a free-flowing drink bar. The desserts were ordinary. There was a champagne jelly shooter that was very good. The muffin-cakes were a bit dry, the stawberry tart was mushy and everything else was ok. I originally pilled on as much as I could because we could only go through once. Then I noticed everyone else making multiple visits so I did. The server at one point told my friend she could only go once, but I encouraged her not to comply with the request because nobody else was. After that, it was fine. The savory foods were the best. The desserts, were forgettable, except for the champagne jelly shooter. I wouldn't return to this event, but I might visit the restaurant downstairs to see if I can order the braised meat dish.

I checked out this place for their Christmas themed afternoon tea set. The Dumbo restaurant literally gave the vibes of a dreamy land with all things white and pretty. The sumptuous looking spread spread included a lot of Christmas-themed desserts, drinks, DUMBO special white Caesar salad and roasted chicken. The only thing I think they should have added to the set was a selection of drinks like cappuccino or cafe latte, but otherwise I had a great time and really enjoyed the food and ambience.

It’s cute but that’s about it. Food is so so and service is so so. Way too crowded in the time like this. It’s only ¥4368 for afternoon tea so basically You get what you paid for. If you want nice classy legit afternoon tea then go to Ritz or Peninsula or Palace instead. This place might be good for just casual hang out.

This year, there were also endless strawberries served at your table. The improvements are good. The food this time was also more memorable. I wish they would offer more scones. The clotted cream was really good. Original - Nice space, beautifully decorated. It seemed rather unimposing for the lobby of The Peninsula Hotel. We had the strawberry afternoon tea. It was nice enough. The food was ok, a mix of savory and sweet. The scones were limited, and you were allowed one tea selection. I prefer the Mandarin Oriental.

The cappuccino looked like it came from a machine - it was served in a soup bowl, the ratio of espresso to milk and milk foam was too low, the foam wasn’t tight, no evidence in the foam that the hot milk was poured. The kids breakfast was two silver dollar pancakes, half a banana, some fruit compote and whipped cream and a pond of syrup on a segmented kiddie plate, which is all fine if it isn’t 2500 yen. The fruit plate wasn’t fresh - the mango was sour. The other coffee we ordered was never delivered. My expectations for the Peninsula are higher - two kids breakfasts, a fruit plate, and one cappuccino shouldn’t cost 10,000 yen AND be unacceptably poor. At least the service was pleasant.

Food and service barely passable. Tried most of their The Lobby Breakfast range except for the Naturally Peninsula Breakfast over several days. Stick to either Japanese or Peninsula Breakfast. Service was impersonal and cold as their viennoiserie. Seemed like butter was also a rare item. One staff saved the day, he is enthusiastic and warm, think his name is Takao-san.

A wonderful breakfast location at the 1st floor of The Peninsula Hotel. The food was excellent with a large variety including Japanese, Chinese, Western and a Shojin inspired option that is more healthy. Standout was the service (think Takao-san?) that made us feel very welcome due to his warm, genuine and attentive service.

An oasis of calm in the bustle of the Tokyo station. Great place to meet up. The sandwiches made specifically for us vegetarians were delicious. The atmosphere was eclectic and service was outstanding. The only two catches. On the expensive side and you may have to wait if you don’t have a reservation. Also if you are inside the station you will have to ask at the turnstiles for them to let you out.

Aman Tokyo is a luxurious hotel located in the Otemachi Tower, offering contemporary rooms and Italian dining with stunning city views. The hotel's design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese residential structures, incorporating classic materials like timber and Washi paper with modern technology. Managed by Aman, it features 84 rooms and suites, each offering unique layouts and modern amenities. The hotel also boasts a lounge on the 33rd floor, providing an extensive cocktail selection and a menu featuring both Western and Japanese classics.
Aman Tokyo has become our favorite hotel in Japan. The room was gorgeous with clean modern minimalist decor and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Tokyo skyline and Imperial Gardens. The common areas were serene and luxurious, the pool was gorgeous and the gym was very well equipped. The wonderful breakfast was made even more special by Niccolo, the assistant manager at the restaurant. Everyday he would remember all our modifications and preferences from the days before and was very welcoming, epitomizing the best in five star service. Also, special callout to the person managing the pool who surprised us with drinks and treats at our chaise lounge while we swam. Thank you for a lovely experience!
Karen — Google review
They used to allow you to go see the lounge. However this time we approached and were asked how many in our party. We said 6. They suddenly told us that only 3 were allowed up at a time and the other 3 would have to wait. So 3 of us started behind while being watched by an employee. Meanwhile we saw many groups of people (who were also just visiting) go up with their entire group. Not sure why we were targeted but it didn't feel good. The lobby and hotel itself are beautiful. You just might not be treated well if you're picked on like we were
Kevin K — Google review
This is an amazing place and I highly recommend you to visit it. We have been here on dinner only and had great experience. Food was good, dessert and drinks as well. View from the restaurant is very nice, as you can see great parts of Tokyo. It looks pretty romantic during the night time. Everything is very well maintained here and it looks like they are paying attention on every detail.

Great hard product. Concierge needs big improvement to be useful to guests. To me, Aman's core value prop is absolute peace of mind. Every little life-detail is handled seamlessly so you can truly focus on what matters. I stayed at Aman Tokyo for over a week on a work trip, and the hard product was nothing short of spectacular. The base room is easily among the largest in Tokyo, with an interior design and stunning skyline views that combine to give an incredible sense of the location (a rarity among increasingly bland global chains). It certainly made me *feel* like I was in the heart of a metropolis. The room itself was spacious enough to host a small group comfortably, with a thoughtful seating area and well-curated amenities. Room service was solid and consistently good. Breakfast was an absolute highlight. I stuck with the Japanese set and added fruit on the side. Invited a group of friends over last minute no issues - plenty of seating. After noticing I enjoyed mangoes, the restaurant team began adding a plate of cut mango to my meal every morning without me asking. This is classic Aman intuitive service. The gym was excellent: well-equipped, always quiet, and a joy to use. I was able to keep my routine effortlessly. I also swam three times during my stay, and the pool was similarly serene and uncrowded. The main letdown, however, was the concierge. They mishandled a reservation date and couldn’t secure tables at the high-end sushi spots I requested. I ultimately had to rely on a private concierge service for one reservation and even DM'ed a chef directly on Instagram for another. I was left feeling pretty frustrated having to coordinate all this ahead of my trip. At a lesser property, this would be forgivable, but at a 6-star hotel, where convenience and seamless access are the very things you’re paying for, it’s a serious miss. For me, this was a significant strike against the otherwise stellar experience.
Su G — Google review
Having a wonderful time here. Immaculate and on point rooms, service quality is excellent as would be expected! Special shout out to Niccolo Brachelente at Arva, while service here is expected, he goes beyond the expected. He’s super attentive and proactive, anticipating our needs even before we began to ask for anything. An example, would be my wife having a slight sniffle and a tissue box appeared soon. My coffee getting cold and a fresh cup appeared immediately. He sets a very good example for the other staff to emulate. Am truly appreciative of his efforts and also of course the rest of the team here.

THE PALACE LOUNGE is a spacious and stunning cafe offering a view of the Imperial Moat. It features an extensive selection of teas from around the world. While it may be slightly pricey, it's considered reasonable for its location at THE PALACE HOTEL. The lunch or dinner restaurant course menu and cafe menu are separate, so patrons must choose when ordering. Terrace seating is reserved for the restaurant menu only, but it's worth it on a beautiful day.
Elegant, quiet with a good view. There are a good selection of Japanese whiskeys among other drinks. A cowsy outside section in the back. Undoubtedly a great place for sunset drinks in summer

I went there with my clients for a meeting. While they were doing their thing, I waited at the café. Minori was great and made space for me even for just 40 minutes before the next clients came in. I ordered a Japanese tea and smoked nuts, which were great. Minori was really attentive and offered me many things from the menu. If only I had a bit more time to enjoy... The place is nice but did not feel as cozy as I expected and was very busy. I saw some other staff moving a bit too fast for a place like this. My client in May is staying there and I hope I can enjoy this again.

¥20,000 for 2 persons We booked a lunch course to celebrate the cherry blossom season. When we arrived 15 minutes earlier, the staff told us to wait in the lobby instead of seating us at a table. The service is unpleasant, you are served by 5 waiters, each serving dishes from a different side. The staff does not replace cutlery after each dish. When the waiter came to take the plate after the appetizer, he took off the dirty cutlery and put it back on the table. This is terrible, during my entire stay in Japan I have never encountered such behavior anywhere. The waiters stand in a row at the side of the room and visibly gossip about all the guests. Do you think that if they wear masks, rude behavior won't be visible? The food was tasty, but comparable to other cheaper places I've eaten at. We didn't get a menu of dishes, just a piece of paper with a description of our course and additional drinks dedicated to the sakura season. When we wanted to order something extra to drink, the waitress said that everything was sold out, so we asked for white wine. We were given it, but the bottle was not opened in front of us. In total, we paid ¥20,000 and felt unwanted and gossiped about the entire stay, just like other guests around us. This place is a joke and they should be ashamed of themselves for such service and not replacing cutlery.

The cozy ambiance and friendly service make it an inviting place to unwind with great drinks.
I came here for my first afternoon tea with a Halloween theme and it was great. The variety of different treats and tastes, along with an unlimited drink menu, made for a delightful experience. The service wasn’t super attentive, but they were ready to help when called. The price was 7500 yen, which is a pretty fair price according to my friend who has been to quite a few afternoon teas around Tokyo. A good first experience.

Came for the strawberry afternoon tea set. Never done an afternoon tea before, but it was a great experience. The food was amazing and they had a piano player in the lounge. It was a very romantic atmosphere. The tea set is very filling and it was difficult to finish with only 2 people. They will not let you take leftovers home with you or provide a take out box. Make sure you come hungry.

This is the main buffet breakfast restaurant of the awesome ANA hotel. Outstanding selection of food with the staff really attentive when we visited in September 2025. The only downside is how busy it gets, with people always on the move to refill their plates. Having your breakfast outside of peak times is wise. I believe the Atrium also does afternoon High Tea, which we didn't try but noticed it packed at around 3-4pm.

Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, attentive staffs, very much expected from a five star hotel. Truly enjoyed the matcha afternoon tea experience. Though honestly it felt more like a lunch with a lot of sweets rather than afternoon tea because of the volume. Great selection of coffee and tea, many of them non-caffeine. Personally would recommend Mango Dream and Morgensonne, they smell good and taste so fresh.
Almadillah N — Google review
The service and atmosphere is good here. Loved the live piano performance with afternoon tea. Only remarks are that the desserts are a little lackluster. The ratio of sweet to savory is somewhat unbalanced. They did not utilize the flavor of strawberries as much as they could have which is a shame. The drinks were alright as well. The seasonal drinks were somewhat flavorless. For the price this was a disappointment of course. The presentation was gorgeous though.

Worst afternoon tea I've had. I was really looking forward to this as i felt homesick and wanted to have a bit of nostalgia. So me and my friend booked the matcha afternoon tea for her birthday. It looks good for the purpose of photos, and i think thats all they want. There is 3 small peices of savoury that are ok at best, but there is way too many sickly sweet things that you cant even finish. The quality of cakes, you could tell, just manufactured made and from frozen, especially how quickly they came out. We asked to take some home and they denied, which I've never heard of as you pay for something, you take it home. We talked to the manager and in the end wrapped it up. Still this probably should be more suited to be in the bin and not for edible consumption. I was very dissapointed, this is not worth it the experience.

Classic high tea experience that reminds me of living in Hong Kong. The matcha afternoon tea set delights were beautifully crafted and truly delicious. Reduced one star for the sad amount of matcha offered as a drink though. It was barely enough to dirty the cup and was served so early that it was cold by the time the tray arrived. I was hoping to sip the bitter tea to balance the sweets. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not very attentive. Perhaps they were short handed due to a concert that was being organised, but I had to ask for more water as a palate clencer instead of them taking care the classes were kept full. Perhaps its a culture difference compared to Hong Kong service.

I recently visited this cafe with high expectations, but the experience was marred by an incredibly rude server. Upon arrival, the server merely pointed us toward a tiny corner without any guidance on whether we were to wait there or have our coffee. When we inquired about sitting by the window, the server coldly informed us that such seating required a reservation. His demeanor was both unwelcoming and out of place for this establishment. Given my extensive travels in Japan, I can confidently say this was the worst service I’ve encountered. While I understand that reservations might be necessary for certain seating, the manner in which we were treated was unacceptable and did not align with the cafe’s usual reputation. After reading other reviews, it’s clear that not all patrons experience this level of service, which only adds to the frustration. I hope the management addresses these issues to ensure a more consistent and welcoming experience for all customers.

You can't expect a good view because it's on the second floor, but it was spacious and open. The sofa seats are also spacious and nice. My only complaint is that the drinks are served slowly (I had to wait 20 minutes for hot drinks, and the drinks were often empty). I guess it can't be helped if they're really busy, but when I see the staff talking in front of me, I feel a bit strange... I understand the difficulties of free flow, and it may be unavoidable because they're part-time, but since it's a hotel, I think they need to provide more training on this, otherwise the number of repeat customers will decrease. I was also sad that the cake stand was taken away early while I was waiting for the tea to take a photo. (Translated by Google) I was looking for a coffee shop in this area where I could have a relaxing conversation during the day on a weekend, and I ended up here. If you want to order afternoon tea for 7,000 yen or parfait for 3,000 yen, you can reserve a table, but I was a little hesitant about that, so I went as a walk-in. There was no problem at all, as I was guided to the hotel in about 15 minutes after sitting on a chair at the entrance. Maybe I was lucky. I ordered a cake set and the cake was not bad either. NAMIKI667 at Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo is a trendy restaurant offering gourmet lunch and dinner, featuring a terrace, lounge, and cocktail bar. Guests can savor an excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety of Western and Japanese options, including made-to-order eggs. The friendly customer service adds to the dining experience. The Katsu Sando sandwich is highly recommended for its nostalgic flavors.
The gluten free strawberry 🍓 afternoon tea was amazing. Thank you for offering a fully gluten free experience! It was a lot of food for two people, probably could have done one plate between the both of us.
Monica — Google review
I have been staying at Hyatt Centric for 2 weeks now and finally ate at the restaurant. Food was pretty good, small portions, but very tasty. Service was fast but there were only 3 other tables. I paid extra for the lobster bisque and got less than half a bowl. The Mango Tart Dessert was the best thing out of the course. Chicken was ok. Salad was good.
Andrew A — Google review
My daughter and I enjoyed the afternoon strawberry tea. We had the yummy gluten free and vegetarian version. They swapped out the ham and cheese sandwiches to either a quinoa or beet salad. The desserts were all yummy. The churros were yummy, but heavy on the sugar.

Nice stopping place in the center of Ginza. Very decent free flow wines, too. You can sit on a terrace side, too. Great to have a quick drink before you go to dinner, out of course a romantic conversation.

April 7, 2023 at HYATT CENTRIC NAMIKI667 The ceiling is high and the space is open. There is also a terrace where you can enjoy the view of Ginza's tree-lined avenue while eating on a fine day. On this day, we visited for lunch and enjoyed a delicious course that started with an appetizer of seafood and ended with the main course of meat! The hospitality of the staff was also excellent!

The afternoon tea was lovely but service…🫠 a bit slow and very noisy because it’s a counter style. I guess it’s also why it’s a little less pricey for the area in termes of AT. It was a pleasant experience after all.

Great bar and location - have a good happy hour from 5pm to 7pm with beers, few cocktails and sparkling/ white/ red wine at 600 yen + 21% service/ tax. They also do 1500 yen all you can drink sparkling. Problem is the places service is bad - I saw a few reviewers saying this but didn't really believe it... But its very true. The waiter serving our drinks was like he was doing us a favor by taking our order. Anyway for location and atmosphere it's definitely worth it during happy hour.

I guess eating here is not as good as bar. Minimal items in shared food menu but still full price per person. Dessert and drink was only plus

It's an ideal spot for meeting friends, featuring a free bread bar and a special ginger drinks selection. The menu boasts delicious salads and delectable desserts, while the atmosphere is described as amazing with seasonal decorations adding to its charm. The staff are friendly and accommodating, making it a great place to celebrate special occasions or simply enjoy some girly time out.
so super pretty and staff was very nice! Perfect for photos and I love that they have different themes it is very creative but I would recommend you eat some savoury things before you come here since it is mostly sweets! I love this place would visit again!

Absolutely cutest place! I loved the decorations, cakes and atmosphere. The staff is kind and can take pictures for you. You need a reservation (make it through the japanese version of the site linked in their social media) for a specific course, there are usually about 3 seasonal menus to choose from. You'll be served the sweets and unlimited tea and have about 2 hours to spend at the cafe. The room is quite small, but there aren't many tables so it doesn't get crowded. The sweets and tea were delicious, I'd just skip the cream drink next time though
Eu M — Google review
The setting and service was absolutely beautiful and STUNNING! If you have food allergies then please be aware as they use an external company to make their food. I have a strawberry allergy and it wasn't advertised on Tableog that most of the menu I chose had strawberries in it, but the staff were kind enough to make a BEAUTIFUL cake that said "Welcome to Japan" on it! I look forward to coming here again in future, but if you have food allergies then it may be a good idea to have a Japanese friend phone them to make sure you can eat here....although honestly you don't even need to eat, just the atmosphere and staff is beautiful enough! 🥰😍

Nice place to meet with friends. Free bread bar and special ginger drinks bar. Nice menu and salads selection. Their special drinks are very delicious. Deserts were also great. I would say wheat bread is a little bit dry but for bread bar it is not a problem. Also white bread is pretty good.

Perched atop the Tokyu Plaza in Shibuya, CE LA VI Tokyo is a multi-faceted venue offering a restaurant, bar, outdoor terrace, and club lounge. Despite opening just before the Covid-19 restrictions in December 2019, it has quickly become a popular destination for an international crowd seeking resort-style entertainment and upscale ambiance. The venue boasts stunning panoramic views of the Tokyo skyline and Shibuya Crossing from its modern glass-encased building.
Great atmosphere at the restaurant. For starters, we ordered the seared wagyu, which was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The main course, tandoori lamb chops, was perfectly cooked, tender, well seasoned, and served with fresh ingredients that complemented each other nicely. The portion sizes were generous.
Richeal A — Google review
Stunning view, great cocktails and food. The service was not good at all. The waiters did not pay attention despite that the restaurant was only 30% full. We had pre ordered a set menu and the first waiter said "it is too late to make it". After some argument we got it. The waiters served in a clumsy way and service compared to price level was awful and amateur. This place is still worth visiting for the great skyline view.
Grete K — Google review
Modern style place and food. Food was nice. Pasta a little bit overcooked, too soft. I went on weekday, really quiet you can forget that you are on noisy Shibuya.
Hancock B — Google review
I went there with my girlfriend, and we celebrated our 1st anniversary! But service is "horrible". We ate "Seared wagyu beef" and "Pepperoni pizza"; and we drink "Shibuya sunset" and "Whiskey sour", everything was very delicious, but portion was not big enough. We were sit on a place at terrace, a waitress disturbed us in every 10 minutes. So we couldn't enjoy the unique Shibuya view.

Great food, amazing views, friendly service. We shared the oysters, rice noodles, tandory lamb chops, grilled veggies, and apple compote. All were good. Amazing views of Shibuya, including Shibuya crossing which was fun to watch from above. Great place for a date or an evening out with friends.

Located in the heart of Tokyo, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi offers a sophisticated and intimate experience. With just 57 spacious rooms and suites, the hotel features contemporary furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows. The Motif Restaurant & Bar is a highlight, offering farm-to-table French cuisine overseen by renowned chefs. While it may not offer panoramic city views, the restaurant provides a unique vantage point overlooking Tokyo Station's inner workings.
We had a nice big room for the four of us (2 teenagers) and in the end it was better than getting two small rooms that I would’ve gotten elsewhere. Service was wonderful - the doorman remembered my birthday and ran out to wish me a happy birthday. Location was super convenient to the train station and my kids appreciated just one train ride (narita express) from and to the airport instead of transferring multiple times with our luggage.
Betty N — Google review
A pleasant stay on our last 3 nights in Tokyo. The service is excellent, each staff was very helpful and kind. Location is great, walking distance to center of Ginza and next to Tokyo station. The room is spacious and clean but it’s a little old for Four Season standard. The restaurants were amazing with city lights view. Food and drinks were delicious. Overall we are happy to stay here.
Ditta T — Google review
We had the pleasure of staying at the Four Seasons Marunouchi for six nights last week, during the beautiful cherry blossom season in Tokyo. We had an incredible time at the hotel -- the entire staff was so welcoming, understanding, warm and accommodating. The location of the hotel is ideal -- so close to Tokyo Station and so easy to get to all the other neighborhoods. Both my children (ages 4 and 7) were treated like princesses, and everyone working at the hotel went out of their way to help them and make all of us feel at home. They even brought special treats and gifts for both of my girls because it was my daughter's birthday during our stay. We couldn't ask for a more beautiful experience. My husband and I also dined at Sezanne, which was truly a one-of-a-kind meal and the best service we have had at any Michelin starred restaurant around the world. Can't recommend Four Seasons Marunouchi enough - and special thanks to Keigo for his help in making reservations and his kindness throughout our trip.
Neha R — Google review
We regularly stay at Four Seasons hotels but for this trip to Tokyo our hipster college kids wanted to stay in another part of town so we didn’t have rooms here. But after walking around Tokyo for six hours with our family when at the end of our ropes… we knew we needed excellent cocktails, service and welcome amenities. From greetings at the outdoor doorman to the lobby we were welcomed and given the five star treatment. We enjoyed a most excellent two hour respite in the bar. Thank you!!!
Samantha G — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Marunouchi Tokyo, made even more memorable by the exceptional staff. Dimitri from room service went above and beyond each day—his warm smile, positive attitude, and thoughtful gesture of bringing extra biwa fruit truly made our stay special. Taro at Maison Marunouchi was incredibly attentive and a pleasure to interact with. He not only answered all my questions about the ingredients with care and knowledge, but also took the time to chat and make us feel welcome. His warm and professional service elevated our dining experience. The food at dinner was excellent—well-prepared, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The desserts, in particular, were spectacular and left a lasting impression. Rubin, who welcomed us upon arrival and helped with our luggage, also stood out with his kind and genuine hospitality. His friendly smile and thoughtful goodbye and bow as we were leaving left us with such a positive final memory of our stay. Our room had an amazing view overlooking the trains and Tokyo Station—it was a unique and beautiful perspective of the city that we truly enjoyed. While the breakfast selection was more limited than at other Four Seasons locations we visited on this trip, the fresh orange juice was a standout, especially since it wasn’t offered at the other properties. The room was cozy and well-appointed, and the pajamas were a lovely touch—soft, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a long day.
Yasmina S — Google review
The hotel is beautiful. Problem is that it’s right above Tokyo station so you hear all the trains! Concierge offered a noise cancelling machine but sadly it was difficult to rest. Recommendations from concierge for restaurants were excellent!

My boyfriend and I stayed here late December/early January and had the most wonderful stay. It was a wonderful stay. I had injured my leg in an accident and was on crutches, but the staff was prepared and waiting with a wheelchair. The view from the room was also superb, and the staff coordinated to ensure I could enjoy the pool and other facilities with the wheelchair. When I mentioned I wanted to celebrate, they were very supportive as well. I was sad because my injury prevented me from traveling far, but thanks to the wonderful experience at this hotel, I had a truly lovely time. It was amazing. I definitely want to stay here again once I've recovered.
Ame M — Google review
Would hardly consider this a 5 star. No welcome drink upon check in. Check in desk was abrupt and not friendly. Best service was honestly from the concierge. Parents are came to celebrate their 50th anniversary and there wasn't even any recognition of that. Poor 5 star. Also requested a non smoking room but the room has pungent smoke smell! Perpetually smells like an ashtray even with a purifier. Rooms are nice and large though for Japan standards! Lots of room for hanging clothes. They take their turndown service seriously and it's nice that bathrobes and pyjamas are provided for. Beds and bedding are comfortable. First time I've seen a full facial set amenity kit provided for as well. But to be honest, i would not come back here to stay because location wise, it's in the middle of no where and the adjacent mall only has food options no shopping options.
N S — Google review
Such a wonderful hotel. The guest room I had (twin beds) was spacious and packed full of amenities. I even had a room overlooking Mt Fuji! The location is great, too, just outside of a couple train stations with direct access to Ginza, Shibuya, and Shinjuku. The staff were kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here with my wife as a part of our honeymoon trip, and we had a fantastic stay! Kentaro and the amazing staff are exceptional, offering thoughtful hospitality and professionalism. They prepared a very beautiful gift to help us celebrate our special occasion. The hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking; meticulously clean and grand. This will be our go-to hotel when we are in Tokyo again. Highly recommend!!
Timothy K — Google review
The location is nice, quiet , and safe. You may not step outside into the middle of all the fray however, once you get your bearings you realize that you have convenient access to many of the more congested touristy areas, and the train station is across the street. This was my second visit to this hotel. I chose it for the elegance and I appreciate how the atmosphere helps me to relax after a long flight. I really love the thoughtful touches in the rooms (control panel for windows and lights, robes, slippers, espresso, the bathroom amenities are amazing). There is really nothing left to ask for because it is all there. I cannot say the same for many of the other hotels in Tokyo. The breakfast is wonderful and the club lounge is great for midday tea, and a light bite after shopping and site seeing…unwind with a glass of wine. I always miss this hotel when I travel to my next location, it’s just not the same anywhere else.
Rhonda S — Google review
Flawless service, gorgeous views, and an ultra-convenient connection to Nagatacho Station. Everything from check-in to breakfast was polished and thoughtful. Rooms are quiet and beautifully finished; staff were consistently proactive. Small heads-up: the spa/sauna facilities are gender-separated and visible tattoos aren’t permitted unless fully covered—stricter than what we experienced in Kyoto. Still an easy top recommendation.
Trent — Google review
We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and therefore it will always hold a special place in our heart. Very stylish design, excellent service and staff. Spacious rooms that are clean and wonderful view. This hotel delivers a true 5-star experience in Tokyo.

InterContinental the Strings Tokyo, an IHG Hotel offers a comfortable stay with two restaurants, a cozy bar, and a gym. The standard rooms provide efficient use of space and offer picturesque views of Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Tower, and Shinagawa Station. However, light sleepers may want to avoid the Shinagawa view due to train noise. Lofted rooms provide perfect spots for enjoying city lights.
Absolutely beautiful hotel! The rooms are quiet, a decent size with modern decor, and in excellent location with a pedestrian bridge attached to Shinagawa station. The restaurant and bar are great. What makes this hotel stand out is the phenomenal staff. They are extremely friendly and professional. Their attention to detail and care for their guests is on another level!
D R — Google review
The Strings by Intercontinental Hotel in Shinagawa offers a fantastic location with excellent connectivity to Haneda Airport and Tokyo Station. Its central positioning makes it a convenient choice for travelers, and the spacious rooms add to the comfort of the stay. However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. The air conditioning was not particularly effective, requiring me to request a fan in the middle of the night. Additionally, during summer, only two small water bottles (500ml each) were provided daily, which was insufficient. I had to request extra bottles every night—something that could easily be addressed with a more generous allocation. On the positive side, the view from room 3135 was stunning, offering a scenic glimpse of Haneda Airport and the mesmerizing sight of planes landing through a large glass window. It was truly a highlight of the stay. One detail that puzzled me was the inconsistency in room rates. Despite booking four consecutive nights, the second night was priced 350 yen higher than the rest, without a satisfactory explanation. While the amount itself was small, it raised questions about pricing policies—whether this is a standard practice in Japanese hotels or a broader global phenomenon. The breakfast experience was exceptional, thanks to the warm and attentive Nepali staff, especially Minato-san, who handled requests with patience and professionalism. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a variety of healthy choices and a great selection of buffet items, all enjoyed under natural sunlight filtering from the top of the building. A special mention to Tanaka-san at the front desk, who kindly accommodated an early check-in, making the arrival experience seamless and welcoming. Overall, The Strings by Intercontinental Hotel provides a comfortable and well-located stay with breathtaking views and excellent service. With some tweaks in air conditioning, water supply, and pricing transparency, it could truly elevate the guest experience.
Shakti R — Google review
Beautiful hotel, stayed in the city view room and it was a very large size room compared to other hotels we stayed at across Japan. As we don’t fit the usual demographic of someone staying here, I did feel that when we entered the initial lobby we were questioned rather a lot if we were guests of the hotel. Although I could be looking into it too much. The breakfast buffet was lovely, and it was great to receive a 2pm late check out before our red-eye flight. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I would definitely stay again!

An Exceptional Experience – The Best InterContinental I Have Ever Visited As an IHG Diamond Member and InterContinental Ambassador, I frequently stay at IHG properties worldwide, but The Strings InterContinental Tokyo has truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment of check-in, the hotel presents itself as a serene oasis in the heart of the city – perfectly connected yet incredibly tranquil. The service is outstanding. Every team member demonstrates professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine warmth. A special mention goes to Aye Htel, who assisted us with the check-in in the Club Lounge and provided flawless service throughout our five-night stay, from start to finish. Aya Datra also delivered exceptional service, ensuring every detail was perfectly attended to. The drinks, the stunning views, and the meticulous attention to detail created an unforgettable stay. I have rarely experienced such a high level of hospitality. For me, this is the finest InterContinental property I have visited, surpassing even the Downtown Los Angeles location. We will most certainly return.

We loved our stay! It's has direct access to thr subway (albeit difficult to find coming in for the first time), so it's far enough out and quiet while being accessible to the other neighborhoods. The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo was the perfect mix of comfort, luxury, and genuinely thoughtful service. The rooms were sleek, quiet, and had an awesome view — everything felt high-end but still relaxed. Big shoutout to Kenny, who was so kind and helpful. Not only did he make us feel super welcome, but he also gave us some terrific pointers on Japanese anime locations to check out. Honestly, his tips made our trip way more fun — we got to visit spots we wouldn’t have found on our own. The location was super convenient for getting around Tokyo, and everything from check-in to checkout was smooth. If you’re into anime, want great hospitality, or just want a really comfortable stay in Tokyo, this place checks all the boxes. Kenny especially made it memorable.

(Translated by Google) On weekends, most places are crowded, but this place seems to have a good turnover, so although you do have to wait, you can usually get in at a reasonable time, so I often go there. The atmosphere is calm, so I think there are many female customers, usually one or two at a time. This time, I had the cream tea set, which consisted of apple tea and a scone. It was consistently delicious. The apple tea comes in a pot worth about two cups. I would especially recommend this place for tea lovers. While there may be a line on weekends, it's relatively easy to get in on weekdays, and the atmosphere is quiet. This time, I ordered the Afternoon Tea Set, choosing the autumn-only parfait (+140 yen), chestnut and grape shortcake, and pumpkin cheesecake. Each cake was carefully made and of high quality, allowing me to fully enjoy the seasonal flavors ✨. The tea pot is large enough for two cups, so you can enjoy plenty. The lemon cream decorated around the cheesecake was so delicious! There were many different kinds of pot tea, and it was a novel tea with fruit that reminded me of a tropical country. It can get a bit crowded due to the large number of people, so I recommend going during the day on weekdays or at night. I often eat the standard tomato pasta because it always has a consistent taste, but I also look forward to the seasonal menu. The tea pot holds 2 or 3 teacups, so you can fully enjoy your tea until you've finished your meal and dessert, and the tea comes out without tea leaves, so it doesn't taste bitter. I came for the winter 2022 afternoon tea and it was a fun experience! Plenty of cute and yummy food and the decor inside is so unique. The only part I didn't like is that staff took incredibly long to bring the tea, so my friend and I only got to try 2 kinds of tea.

Il Lupino Prime is a multifaceted gem nestled in the heart of Omotesando, seamlessly blending the charm of a trattoria, the sophistication of a steakhouse, and the vibrancy of a bar. This stunning four-story establishment is backed by renowned restaurateur Wolfgang Zwiener, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. For those seeking al fresco options, it's best to skip the first floor with its impressive open kitchen and classic chophouse ambiance.
Lunch Experience at Il Lupino Aoyama I recently had lunch at Il Lupino Aoyama, a charming restaurant with an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of Aoyama, the sophisticated vibe perfectly complements the area. For lunch, I ordered the Prime Hamburger and the Garlic Sautéed Spinach. Prime Hamburger The patty was incredibly juicy, and the toasty bun added a delightful contrast. Every bite was satisfying, showcasing the high quality of the ingredients. The balance of the toppings and sauce was spot on, making this burger simple yet elevated. The portion size was just right for a fulfilling lunch. Garlic Sautéed Spinach The Garlic Sautéed Spinach, served as a side dish, was wonderfully aromatic. The garlic perfectly complemented the fresh spinach, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. The addition of olive oil added a rich depth, making it a light yet satisfying accompaniment. The service was attentive, with staff offering thoughtful and detailed care throughout the meal. If you’re looking for a stylish lunch spot in Aoyama, Il Lupino is a fantastic choice.

Business dinner for 4 persons on a Thursday night. We booked the private dining room on the side of the main restaurant. Pre-booked a set course menu - without wine as one guest was a non drinker. Delicious feast of various salad, pasta, and T-bone steak dishes plus desert. Service was attentive and well paced. This venue is good for couples dinners, family events or business dining. Background pop-style music was a little loud upon arrival but they happily turned it down to suit our tastes. David W, May 2025

Food was ok but I felt service could be better. I think I had the same experience as most other guests. When we sat down there was no introduction to how the service will run so not sure when we can order and what can we order. Service was slow even though I booked afternoon tea at the reserved time. We didn't receive hand towels nor any other water for 20mins until we asked. Unfortunately there are better afternoon tea spots for the same price.

Chanced upon this restaurant while visiting my business partner who got a retail outpost on level one, special shout-out to Oak Village! The wine list is superb and filled with gems which I love to open to celebrate special occasions and good meals with friends and family. On this occasion, I brought my daughters there with my wife to escape from the scorching sun. The mercury rose above 35 degrees and we were in need of a good lunch. Il Lupino Prime did not disappoint and the service crew was impeccable and attentive. We had a great burger, sandwiches and pasta. Highly recommended with beer on a hot afternoon. Be back for the steak and wines! #andrewtanatomisingapore

GRAND NIKKO TOKYO DAIBA is a modern and elegant 4-star hotel located on the harbor, offering serene accommodations with a refined decor. The largest hotel on Odaiba Island, it provides a range of facilities including an outdoor pool, Sanatio Spa, fitness center, and more. With over 10 restaurants and bars serving various cuisines like Japanese and Italian, guests can indulge in diverse dining experiences.
Just had the chance to review! Stayed here back in 2016 for 4 nights. The room was super spacious. The price was affordable for such a facility. Perfect view. Next to the train station and Odaiba or Ariake sightseeing area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel is big enough, they have a selection of restaurants, it looks a bit empty on the lobby, maybe the decoration changes depending of the season, been here only in summer. Rooms are big enough, clean and offers everything you need. Customer service is fine.

I think its in a great location, bus and train is close by or taxis outside the main entrance. A nice area to be in lots of shops and places to eat. A good breakfast. Large comfortable rooms with all mod-cons. And they lay out lovely pajamas for you, so when you arrive late you can just pop into bed without unpacking. Really lovely I throughly recommend.

They do not care their guests & the room booked didn't match the description on Agoda. . I checked in on my birthday and there was no gift or card or compliment on the day. On the day I was leaving, the front desk refused to store my luggage for even overnight as I was heading for a short overnight trip. In addition, the room said “rainbow bridge” when I booked the room but the view was actually partially BLOCKED and I needed to pay for room upgrade to see an unblocked Rainbow Bridge view. Pillows were bad. Upsetting experience. . Grand Nikko Hotel Daiba is operating like a Steam Game with DLC: if you want a full feature, you have to pay to unlock. . You can see from the photo of my booking details on Agoda, it said "Rainbow Bridge Side" with a photo showing Rainbow Bridge in the Window, however, the Rainbow Bridge view was actually PARTIALLY BLOCKED. I needed to pay for JPY12,000 per night to unlock the "FULL" Rainbow Bridge Side view. Is this hotel a SCAM? or Is FULL Rainbow Bridge Side view a DLC content at the hotel? . Ridiculous. . I paid for more than JPY120,000 for 2 night stay, and the hotel COULD NOT DO ME A FAVOR of looking after my luggage on my checkout day shortly. . It just shows THEY DO NOT CARE THEIR GUESTS.

It was one of our best decisions to stay at Grand Nikko during the family vacation. It has spacious rooms, great food options, lovely for families with young kids and amazing staff. It’s also at walkable distance from train station as well as shopping malls. I would highly recommend Grand Nikko for people wanting to stay in a premium 4 star hotel.

The room facilities were excellent and everything was clean and tidy. The view was nice as well, although the Hilton in front blocks part of the ocean scenery. However, when it comes to service, especially towards foreign guests, the attitude was disappointing. The most unacceptable incident happened during breakfast. A middle-aged Japanese waitress cleared away our plates before we had finished eating, and even placed a “This Seat is Now Available” sign on our table. She did this without asking, without confirming, and with absolutely zero sense of apology or respect. This behavior was rude, unprofessional, and completely ruined our dining experience. It is shocking that a hotel of this level would allow such service.

Nestled within the vibrant Roppongi Hills complex, Grand Hyatt Tokyo offers an elegant and sophisticated stay with spacious quarters and a range of amenities. The hotel features warm woods and limestone bathrooms, along with a red-granite indoor swimming pool and a sprawling spa offering sauna, steam room, and plunge pools.
We are leaving tomorrow and I am honestly depressed about it! The room was so incredibly comfortable and clean! The blackout curtains are awesome, and it is extremely quiet in here. Never once heard another guest. I would highly recommend if you like me are a light sleeper and enjoy deep rest while you are traveling. Very helpful concierge for luggage forwarding. I also thought Roppongi was an awesome part of town to stay.

Very nice hotel in Roppongi Hills. It is a quiet property not too busy but it is centrally located. The rooms are good sized. And they upgraded me as a globalist member to a huge suite on the top floor. The spa is small with many massage chairs and nice to relax a bit. The gym is well equipped even though it is a bit small. There is a very nice indoor pool next to the gym.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo during a business trip and had an excellent experience. The hotel’s location is perfect — right in the heart of Roppongi, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and key business areas. The restaurants within the hotel are top-notch, offering a great variety of cuisines and consistently high quality. The spa and gym are also outstanding — spacious, well-equipped, and ideal for unwinding after a busy day of meetings. The service throughout the hotel was professional and attentive, making my stay smooth and enjoyable. Overall, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo combines comfort, convenience, and luxury, making it an excellent choice for business travelers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tokyo for work or leisure.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo on the last night of our Japan holiday. Our room was on the fourteenth floor and we had a magnificent 180-degree uninterrupted view of Shibuya and Shinjuku (stunning). We could even see My Fuji in the distance! We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was extensive and in the very nice surrounds of the French Kitchen restaurant. The highlight for me however were the staff. We arrived at night after a six hour flight delay and the team were so accommodating and welcoming. This was consistent across every interaction we had with them. Thankyou for a lovely stay, we would love to come back again some day. Simon & Sonja.

Furthermore the service staff assisted with all our luggage to and from our room Very happy overall. Well worth the cost

Located in the heart of Shinjuku, Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo is a trendy hotel that offers a cool eatery, New York-inspired cafe/bar, and a gym with yoga classes. The hotel has become popular among locals and international visitors for its small-but-social dining spaces and pet-friendly policy. It stands out in the midrange price bracket for offering exceptional service at reasonable rates.
My husband and I stayed 4-nights. We booked through AMEX, and when we arrived they had upgraded our room - higher floor, larger sqft. The room was amazing! When we entered the room, we had some sweet treats waiting for us. The hospitality was incredible from check-in to check-out. It was very spacious room with a living area. The complimentary snacks and drinks in the room were a treat. The gym was also really nice, and they had infused waters and energy bars. It is a 15-20m walk to the main strip, but we enjoyed being a little further out as we found it quieter. However, I will say the hotel food is so pricey, and I couldn’t justify the cost of the coursed-breakfast without the credit we got through AMEX (~$85 USD, breakfast for 2). But the dining space was really lovely. Thank you so much to the staff - from reception, house cleaning, the gentleman at valet who procured our taxi, the barista and server at the cafe… 10/10 across the board!
Rachel — Google review
I'm actually still at the Kimpton but had to write this review now because I'm so impressed with the hotel staff who are all super helpful, friendly and very competent. For example, yesterday, I asked the front desk with help getting a taxi in the morning. They were extremely solicitous and organized the taxi for me. Due to the traffic pattern outside of the hotel, my taxi arrived on the other side of the street. One of the staff actually walked us across the street to the taxi and made sure that the driver knew our destination. First class service. The hotel also hosts a Social Hour every evening with complimentary wine and canapés - a nice event made extra special by the friendly and positive attitude of the staff!

I cannot express the great service and hospitality this hotel exudes. The staff is exceptional. Alex the concierge went way above to provide my husband & I a wonderful vacation. The breakfast is superb, the roof top bar made great Long Island iced teas, housekeeping kept out room clean and stocked. The kindness and concern from all staff made us want to stay forever. Congratulations to every staff member for their heartfelt service they delivered every day.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was well designed, immaculate, and the view of the Tokyo skyline dynamically beautiful. The entire staff were wonderful. Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. But our favorite people were I Wayan and Risa in the Jones Cafe. Our day began with the best coffee from Risa and the warmest greeting and wonderful smile and service from I Wayan. Such a lovely start to the day.

I’ve stayed at a LOT of hotels around the world and the Kimpton Shinjuku is honestly one of the best. The rooms are large for Tokyo (pics of a Superior Twin Room), well organized with lots of space for luggage, everything is new. The beds are comfy, the rooms were ultra clean and the towels were so fluffy! The location is amazing - a 15 min walk to Shinjuku Station, which is basically the heart of Tokyo. It allowed us to get all over the city relatively quickly and cheaply. Staff was friendly and all spoke perfect English too. The gym is well equipped for basic cardio or workouts and the rooms come with a yoga mat. My only note would be the breakfast was nice but really really overpriced - $50 a person for a small simple breakfast is nuts given the cost of food in Japan. Overall would recommend this to friends and I will absolutely stay again.
Darion L — Google review
We ate at the cafe and had an amazing breakfast before our flight. Iwayan was our server and spoke great English. He was so kind and even gave us some recommendations of other places to see in Japan on our next trip. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you Iwayan for your hospitality!
Helin D — Google review
The hotel is very nice ammenity and design wise, but the staff here is why I'm writing this review. They were amazing and because of them I would go back to this hotel during my next trip. A week before we arrived I asked about transportation to and from Narita airport and they sent me a very helpful PDF in english on various modes of transportation I could use publically and then the hotel's. A few days later I asked if there was a bakery near by they could recommend that I could use because 2 of our guests were having birthdays during our overnight stay. I learned they make cakes in house at their bakery which is great, but they also delivered those cakes to our room the night we got there. Unexpectedly when we got breakfast the next morning at their in house restaurant, they brought out fresh fruit with chocolate bars that said "happy birthday" and sang happy birthday at our table. My girlfriend's family members speak Chinese and very little english, and the staff was so sweet both the night we got in and the next morning to ask how to say things like "happy birthday" and other phrases in Chinese. To me they went above and beyond for me and my guests. Two names I got who were a big help (but this is not all inclusive!): Nabin Itani and Michiru Motobe,

Thank you for the lovely and unforgettable evening. It was my tenth and final Christmas in Japan, and the guy who sang and played the guitar doing “ yesterday “ did a fabulous job as up until now , I still have flashbacks of that evening. We had this prebook I think at least two months ahead becos any good place requires advance booking for Christmas Eve. Arrived just around sunset and spent the evening enjoying our Swarovski theme cakes. It was a busy night for staff but they did not compromise quality of service. As for the food- I have had much better cakes but I do like the small little details of this Conrad venue. Highly recommend this place if you want to create treasurable moments and memories !!

Personally, very mixed feelings. Cocktails are nice, food good, view as well. But definitely not worth the money you pay. Just look at the size of Negroni you get for 3200 JPY. It’s literally 1-2 sips of you take the ice cube out… first time I see such cheating at the hotel bar….

Absolutely wonderful strawberry afternoon tea experience. We were lucky enough to be seated at the window overlooking the park. The service was impeccable and I really appreciated how often they checked in on us to see if we needed refills of any drinks. The food was outstanding, especially the couscous dish. The presentation was beautiful and the tea selection was wonderful. I can't wait to come back for another afternoon tea in the future.

Did the afternoon tea set, it changes every couple of months - this time it was matcha. Booked and made reservations online. Have to drop your credit card to book, but can pay with cash or credit on-site. Tea was free flow from a selected tea menu. The sweet and savory items were really good! The staff were friendly and tentative. There is a English and Japanese menu detailing the food and tea items. The view was amazing! Was lucky to be sitting facing the view. There is a two hour limit. If you have a Hilton membership, then once in a while there is a promotion going on, so there is a field where you can enter your Hilton membership number.

Great lounge. I went there to try their afternoon tea set, a collaboration between Conrad Tokyo and Jimmy Choo, so it was themed after the latter, with food emulating Jimmy Choo accessories. It costed ¥6,000 per person and it included 10 pieces per person, both sweet and savory, and unlimited drinks (including different kinds of tea, juices and mocktails -I especially recommend the latter, they’re delicious-). The place has amazing views of Odaiba Bay, a nice atmosphere, live music and friendly and helpful staff. It’s pricey, so it might not be an everyday option, but it’s definitely worth it for a special occasion.

Great relaxing lounge with superb service, terrific views, and well mixed cocktails. The prices are a bit high until you consider the 5-star customer service from their staff and the unparalleled attention to detail. They had live singing with piano accompaniment really elevated the lounge into an extra classy establishment. I’ll happily get a night cap here in the future.

First and foremost this is a cool and classy spot with *superb* views overlooking Tokyo. Great service. Pretty good cocktails. I have to stop just short of giving it 5 stars though. Even considering the great service and that you're at a lovely hotel in the middle of Tokyo, the price point is a bit steep for what it is. Especially if you have to pay a cover charge if you're not staying at the hotel. If you're staying at Conrad Tokyo though and feel like splurging a bit before or after going out, I think it's worth checking out.

This gorgeous, English-style afternoon tea lounge features an expansive view of lush greenery and offers a delightful experience in warm candlelight. The menu features a wide variety of sweet and savory fare, as well as cocktails with a touch of elegance. The staff is attentive and polite, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy some delicious tea.
Delicious Very fancy and high quality. It's a great place for a special occasion The evening tea set comes with multiple levels of multiple small appetizers. They're all quite nice and have varying flavours. The main of roast beef was very large and juicy. Mashed potatoes were excellent. And the strawberry chocolate parfait for dessert was also nice and sweet.

A very good tea, scones and view. Comfortable atmosphere. Politely and friendly service. Their scones are actually very good. They come in three flavours: plain, fruity and orange one. The orange flavoured one is a little bit hard but the other two are delightful. It is also served with three choices of jam and cream. Everything comes together very nicely. Their tea selection is also very good and teas are all high quality. Do give them a try if you are staying here.
Ashley D — Google review
They have an eclectic and extensive selection of all you can drink tea and they were all fragrant and wonderful. We went during spring, so a lot of the accompanying snacks were Cherry blossom flavor, which is really not my favorite, but that didn’t detract from the experience. The service is very quick and polite. My only qualm is that I made a reservation and they couldn’t find it. We were able to get a table regardless, but it felt very disorganized.
Melissa S — Google review
The photos of the desserts online looked very enticing, and the view from the windows was great, so we decided to try a few of their sweet offerings. The restaurant appears to be aiming for Western-style desserts, but the execution is more in line with what you'd find at a cheap Turkish bakery in Paris. The chocolate cake was a massive, monotonous cylinder of mousse—no filling, no contrast, just the same dense (even hard), gooey texture throughout. The chocolate glaze tasted like the cheapest baking chocolate kind used for cooking, not for quality patisserie. The matcha cake had an extremely dry sponge layer, which therefore lacked any even subtle taste and had a very unpleasant texture on the tongue—not soft, not soaked, just dry. The sorbet was completely off in terms of texture—too icy. I’d strongly recommend the chef look up images of what a proper sorbet should look like. The view is definitely a highlight, but the desserts significantly detract from the overall experience. Given the quality gap, I’d strongly recommend the restaurant focus on what they would likely do better—Japanese-style desserts—instead of trying to imitate European ones with underwhelming results.

Took my mom for afternoon high tea when she visited us in Tokyo - she thoroughly enjoyed the attentive staff, delicious range of pastries, and numerous refills of English tea (as I did the coffee) A very special place with fantastic views of the gardens and pagoda standing on Camelia Hill. Highly recommended!

Very much enjoyed having an evening tea at this classic hotel with an amazing garden.

Third time coming here for afternoon tea on a weekend. They usually have a different menu each time. I recommend trying to get a reservation on the weekday. Expect to wait 1-2 hours for a table on weekends. ESPECIALLY if you have more than 2 people. You can kill time by walking around their garden or exploring the hotel....all you can drink tea is amazing though!

We went there in the afternoon to have a dessert. We were welcomed very friendly. The atmosphere of „Le Jardin“ is very exquisite and calming. The desserts were delicious and nicely arranged. After enjoying the meal, one should definitely check out the beautiful garden.

The Lobby Lounge at Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo is located atop the Marunouchi Trust Tower Main building, offering stunning views. It's a luxurious and serene space where guests can enjoy afternoon tea, seasonal cocktails, and canapes. The lounge also boasts an impressive selection of sherry, Port, cognac, calvados, and grappa. Additionally, it's known for serving some of the finest Italian cuisine in Tokyo.
Celebrated my brother’s birthday here, Nami and Misaki were amazing. Loved the chocolate fondue, cheesecake was okay. You have to go when there’s violin and piano it’s beautiful.

My bf and I went to this place for afternoon tea as I got a voucher from the hotel for staying many nights. Although I booked about 4 weeks in advanced and requested a nice table, they tried to give us a shitty table which was facing a wall. That table really shouldn’t be there… We complained and it took quite some time to receive a better table. We also received very unprofessional and unacceptable attitude from a waiter when we complained… Afternoon tea itself was nice with great tea selection. It would have been better if they provided a bit more savoury food. Overall, their service level is extremely poor for a five star hotel in Japan, and frankly there are better options for afternoon tea in Tokyo.
Y O — Google review
It’s been a while since my last visit here. We often enjoyed wine and cocktails before, and I’m happy to see that the new staff in the lobby are much friendlier compared to two years ago. The place has a great vibe recently, making it a lovely spot to relax and unwind.

You can use the lounge for drinks only they have a nice selection of tea including a few non caffeinated herbal teas. They also have a restaurant with a great selection of foods from around the world such as Singaporean laksa soup noodle (very good) British fish and chips (better than the original;) sandwiches, burgers, spaghettis, salads, etc.
Colin M — Google review
Great breakfast with incredible selection, amazing views, good service (perhaps a little too intense). My only gripe is that portions are small and you can only choose one, so I was always left a bit wanting. Perhaps they did me a favor by not filling me up so I could enjoy all the other incredible foods Tokyo has to offer!

Great atmosphere with live classical music performers. Scones and savory treats were quite the delight. I wish there were more savory things than sweets! Will definitely be coming back here again.
M M — Google review
Disappointed with the quality of strawberry high tea set as it actually doesn't really use much of fresh strawberry and the taste is very average. The most disappointed is the service of the staffs, no smile, pay no attention to customers around, definitely need way more training as it is way lower than some of the regular restaurants in Japan despite it is a well known hotel....

Captain Cook Tokyo is a hidden gem nestled in the international area of Hiroo, offering innovative British cuisine with a modern twist. The cozy and laid-back ambiance provides a comfortable setting to enjoy their authentic yet contemporary menus. Their breakfast and brunch items include gluten-free options, such as the Shakespeares Globe - an avocado filled with an egg and wrapped in bacon, and gluten-free smoked salmon Eggs Benedict.
Nice staff. Delicious breakfast. Great experience. Try Shakespeare's Globe though I recommend adding a side of toast. It's a quirky place with English decoration and Western charm. Kudos to the owners for tackling gluten free breakfast and doing a good job of it. It is a bit on the expensive side but that's to be expected when seeking Western breakfast in Tokyo.

The food itself is good, but the portions are small, and the service leaves much to be desired. The mains we ordered took far too long yet still arrived before our "appetizers", even worse everyone's food arrived separately. However, it is tasty, so if you can ignore this then give it a go.
Kyle W — Google review
Very nice and cozy place with comfortable seating and laid back ambience. The menu has British favorites but also some other food (Hummus, hot cakes). The service is friendly. We went there for an early dinner with kids and it was very pleasant.

Great place for a British style breakfast or brunch. The carrot cake is amazing and the Shakespeare globe breakfast is definitely worth the price.

Design of the place has a cool English theme. Coffee and service is good. However food is only OK, there are better choices around in Tokyo for brunch. Also pricing is a little high for what you get.

The Lobby Bar is a chic new spot in the hotel where both guests and locals can come together to savor custom-made cocktails, an exclusive array of spirits, and a distinctive afternoon tea service. The bar offers an open yet intimate setting that overlooks Tokyo Bay and the iconic Tokyo Tower. With seating for up to 120 guests, including 28 seats at the bar, 34 seats at communal tables, and 58 couch seats, there's ample space for everyone.
We got in at around 9pm and the manager was really lovely, gave us a seat by the window with a view of the Tokyo tower. We had the smoked salmon toast and it was better than expected, very perfectly balanced and the olive oil used was fragrant. Also ordered an Ogasco Mary (a version of the Bloody Mary using a Japanese hot sauce). As a fan of bloody Mary’s this one really hit the spot, the tomato juice used wasn’t overpowering and the hot sauce had a nice kick to it.

Food ordered, never received. Drinks were good. View is AMAZING! Service was ok. Bar surface was very dirty as well as bathrooms, day #2 in Tokyo…. Shockingly everywhere else has been sooooo clean. Would not recommend and will not be back.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon for one night during our birthday trip, and it was an experience we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere of the hotel impressed us—the elegant design, the welcoming staff, and the sense of calm made us feel instantly at ease. In the Lobby Bar, we decided to try a few of their signature cocktails: the Botanic Mojito, the Plum & Yuzu Margarita, we also ordered the Frozen Pistachio Cassata, Wagyu Sandwich and the beautifully crafted Fall in Love Deluxe. Each drink was presented with such care and attention to detail. While all of them were delicious, the Margarita and the Frozen Pistachio Cassata quickly became my favorite—it had the perfect balance of flavors, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the bar. What truly set our stay apart, however, was the service. I want to sincerely thank all the team members at both the lobby and the check-in counter. You were not only professional but also genuinely warm and attentive. Every interaction felt personal, and you all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special mention must go to Melih—thank you so much for your outstanding service. Your hospitality, kindness, and attentiveness left a lasting impression on us. It’s rare to encounter someone who makes guests feel so at home, and for that, we are very grateful. Melih and the entire team transformed this short stay into a truly unforgettable experience. It is moments like these that make travel so meaningful, and it’s why we will always remember our time at this property with such fondness. Earlier this year, we stayed at The EDITION, Shanghai, and I am delighted to say that both hotels are absolutely fantastic. The consistency in quality, design, and especially service across EDITION properties is remarkable. The Tokyo EDITION, however, has its own unique charm and a special energy that makes it stand out. Without a doubt, I will 100% return to this hotel in the future. Whether for the impeccable service, the stunning atmosphere, or simply to enjoy another break in the Lobby Bar, this is a place that I would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Tokyo.

I had a wonderful time at The Lobby Bar during my stay at The Tokyo EDITION Toranomon. The drinks and small plates were fantastic, perfectly complementing the stylish and serene atmosphere. I absolutely loved the aesthetic—the lush greenery and wooden accents created a warm, inviting vibe, and the view of Tokyo Tower was simply stunning. It was a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the hotel.

The hostess had 0 patience and 0 customer service. I don’t believe this lobby bar should be so pretentious. Be customer friendly like a nice hotel should be. My adult sons were visiting here in Japan and the hostess seemed to be annoyed that we were there without a reservation. We didn’t know and were simply trying to understand when we could just get a drink. She walked away to help others. Weird and rude. And to think I’m a loyal Marriott customer for years. Wow I actually don’t like this bar after that awful experience.
Billie J — Google review
This is my favorite bar and space in Tokyo. There are not too many people here. They are divided into two areas, outside and inside. What I love most is that you can enjoy the cool breeze and beautiful scenery outside.

Truthful to the concept, ‘Jungle in the sky’. This place has a very relaxed & refreshing ambiance. Away from the crowd. I love this place. And Pucci Afternoon tea set was also great. The most stunning view of Tokyo Tower is ‘la cerise sur le gâteau’. The staff were wonderful too.
Luce M — Google review
[Very English Friendly] My friend made a reservation for us to try their high tea set (~7000¥) and requested a more separate space. When I first arrived to the building, I was very confused as to where to go! Locating the entrance is quite difficult and signage is minimal; I suggest asking for help if you happen to arrive close to your reservation time. The staff were exceptional, we had the most lovely server and she was really sweet and helpful! She was the highlight of the experience. The tea flavors were wonderful, I loved the seasonal pear tea. We were served champagne though, after seeing the bill, I don’t believe that was our original meal selection. The food was where I had most of my disappointments; the flavors were very underwhelming and dry. The scones should be marketed as biscuits with their dry, crumbly texture. Most of the savory foods didn’t taste like much aside from the miniature sandwich and only the bonbon served as a proper, interesting dessert. We also received a fruit plate to celebrate my friend’s engagement, which happened to be the more delicious item but was only for the special occasion. The high price is exclusively for the ambience… you’re paying for views and the green space. Be aware that the women’s bathroom has only two stalls and often has a line! While a unique experience, I wouldn’t return.

Nestled in the basement right across from Kagurazaka station, Fontaine is a charming kissaten that transports you back to 1967 with its retro ambiance. As you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy atmosphere adorned with unique decor and delightful illustrations on the menu—perfect for those still learning Japanese characters. The owners, an endearing elderly couple, add warmth to your experience as they serve up simple yet delicious homestyle dishes.
Lovely cafe run by a cute friendly old couple. Serving simple homely food. Feels like walking into a time capsule, illustrated menu pictures, vinyl seats, retro decor. The vibes and ambience is just 💯
Melvin Y — Google review
The retro old Showa Kissaten coffee shop, and tried a “morning service” coffee and hot dog set. 450 yen price is right, atmosphere is really old school. Friendly good service probably run by the original owners? If not breakfast set, I guess order a coffee or cream sofa float or other classic specials on the menu. This shop is right on the corner in front of the shrine, 2 entrances, tight narrow stairs, watch your step and don’t bump your head to get downstairs!

A old café in a basement that doesn't look as others, half izakaya style decoration, and they indeed serve some cocktails. A place of time, and it literally smells old even if very clean.

My 800 yen teishoku of beautifully tender, slightly sweet slow-cooked pork was one of the best things I'd eaten for a while. The meal was attractively laid out and came with plentifully replenished green tea. They indulged my poor Japanese without recourse to English (I don't know if they speak it).
Joe P — Google review
As old school as they come. The place opened in 1967 and I doubt they have done much with it since. I think it may be the original owners, a couple, who still run it. The true retro feel is something rare and it is probably its best selling point. The coffee may be nice, but the milk tea certainly isn't. I would avoid ordering that if you can. The tea is served in nice tea cups with a saucer though. Nowadays most of its trade is people who want to smoke as it is one of a very few places where you can smoke indoors in the area. With the result the place is very smelly. It also smells of cat or maybe mold or damp. I couldn't quite put my finger what exactly the smell is, but there is a distinct odor. Despite all this, if you want true and not imitation retro, this place is worth a stop.
Lynda ( — Google review
LOVED to find this underground cozy and vintage cafeteria while wandering around the zone...the menus are the most amazing thing, handwriten and handdrawn! the owners are as kind as someone can be, two beautiful grandparents...cant wait to come back and enjoy the amazing cat photos and drawings on the walls.
