A nice bar by the lake, you can enjoy the view and sun. The terrace is covered (see photo) from the sun. Very busy and crowded, you will probably have to wait for a seat. Unfortunately, very slow service. There are only two waiters for the whole terrace.

Excellent weekend day getaway for couples and families. Beautiful nature scenery but not many other activities, for better or worse. I prefer not which means less people and less noise and you keep peace just for yourself. Lots of water areas around which means mosquitoes are biting like crazy. Come prepared at summer time.

It was a very beautiful and relaxing experience for sure. I walked for 2 hours enjoying the sun in a cold winter. Then, I stopped at the pizza house.

I never get tired of going to Jarun. This is an awesome demonstration of what can be done in a city with a good planning and the purpose of making the city friendlier to its inhabitants. Lakes are very extense, with at least three large artificial beaches that are frequently visited in summer time. Cafes and restaurants are very well distributed around all lakes. Wonderful place for jogging, walking or riding with a bicycle. Different kinds of courts are available for sports like volleyball, basketball, skating, etc. There are also many regatta clubs in the lake. Small open cabins or huts to go on sundays with grill facilities nearby. Toilet services are available all around the park and showers are also available near beaches. Many swans dwell in the lakes and are a spectacle to visitors. One of the wonderful places of Zagreb, a must-see in particular if you are in the city in spring, summer or fall time.

It was fantastic for a hot summer day (37 C) to visit the lake. A particular highlight would be the smaller lake, with the "island of love" in the middle. It looks less man-made and has a lot of green sights when you're swimming. In good days you can see fish swimming alongside you and touch water lilies within the greater depths. One warning I would add is that doing a full round trip hike through the lake gets you to the nudist beach without much forewarning. Sensitive people beware (lol) If you're wondering whether Bundek or Jarun is the right choice - definitely skip Bundek and go to Jarun.

Lovely bar tucked away in garden just down from the railway station. Good prices, friendly service. An oasis in the heat- no camels were sighted! Good range of draft craft beers as well as the usual suspects in a bottle.

The atmosphere and service were great and fast, enough toilets, everything went smoothly. But we attended a sold out concert, and it was really, really uncomfortable - too many people, it got extremely hot and difficult to breath (and I'm not talking about front rows, but even in the back and close to the bars).

I was here for a Blind Guardian concert. The concert was, of course, great. The venue itself is also nice. But for this event there were to many people, it was advertised as sold out, but I think it was above the rated capacity

Great performers and atmosphere, however I don't like the fact that the sitting benches were removed to make space for high tables - it makes the place unfriendly towards any person that does not enjoy vicinity of those who dance while pushing others and stomping on their feet. Besides, when the main hall is full, the air circulation is poor therefore I hope that next remodeling will include returning benches and installing better ventilation system.

Really good small concert venue. Stepped floor so good visibility wherever you are and borderline usable toilets in an emergency but in good numbers so there is never a line in the men’s. Also good bar, fast to serve. No complaints really. Plenty of bike parking around.

Noel Gallagher played here couple of years ago, it was excelent. Hot, but beautiful. Now this guy plays in front of 70.000 people around the world... happy to had an oportunity to see him here

A must-go museum that displays an array of relics of lost and broken love. Reading various related stories was so interesting, and I had a very impressive time there. The clerks inside were so kind, and they had a decent souvenir shop and an inside café to chill myself after passing through a lot of heartbreaking stories. If I could, I would rate this place 6 out of 5 stars.

A must see! A unique museum collection containing various items “of one’s affection” that at some point required dismissal for resolution. Donor’s also offer a vignette of the relationship behind the objects. Decide for yourself, if and where you fit into these stories , and have a cathartic experience for a few hours. There are 5-6 small rooms , lots of interesting readings that require 1-2 hours of your time. Clever idea to put together this collection. One that will keep growing as long as humanity is involved!

Wonderful little museum filled with mementos and poignant stories about the people, things, events and places that we fall in love with and have to let go. If you enjoy stories about being human and want to experience a different kind of museum filled with humanity then you must go. I thoroughly enjoyed! Spent about 1-1.5 hours there. Based off the name of this museum, you’d expect it to be rather depressing… and it kinda is, but in a touching way. Genuine stories, genuine heartbreak, real people. It’s a Museum of Broken Relationships, as the name implies… but, of all kinds of broken relationships, some of which will give you a laugh. Some of which… don’t. I bought my tickets in advance, but when I got there it was rather empty (I went October 1), so it was very easy. I have heard it can get quite busy though, which is why I got tickets in advance. Don’t skip this.

What a fantastic idea for a museum! So glad our walking tour guide recommended this. It was sad, funny, emotional and heartbreaking as well as some heart warming stories. Definitely a must see in Zagreb.

I really liked it and I think it is a must see if you are in Zagreb! You have to do a lot of reading but it is worth it. The stories are as different as the objects and whats very cool - they are from around the world. Some you may like, some may bore you, some may leave something to think about. This is a bit different kind of museum as we are used to but thats another beauty of it🥰

We came here as we'd heard of it as a must see and unique tourist attraction, as well as the fact that it was open quite late in the night when we had some free time. The entry fee was €7 per adult and overall, I was very disappointed. The museum is only made up of about 5 or so rooms with mementos from past relationships, each with a note detailing the backstory of the piece. None of the items themselves are really that interesting, and you'd have to do a lot of reading about each item to understand the meaning behind them. However, most of the stories are just average break up stories and I didn't feel emotionally engaged by any of them. The most interesting part for me was reading the guest book at the back with some pretty funny comments on there. If it was a free museum then I would say go there since it's a very unique concept so it could be interesting. But paying €7 to look at some objects from broken relationships, it's not really worth it.

This place does not deserve even 1 star. The first time we had Disaronno sour, it was the the best cocktail that we ever had. The bartender is a guy who's a professional cocktail maker. He's the best! It started going downhill since that guy left. The waitress there now makes the worst cocktail and has absolutely the worst attitude. This cocktail literally tastes like orange juice now. Paid 50 Kunas for this disaster. Where is the cherry? It looks nothing like the picture any more. I bet they can't open this place for too long if they keep having these kind of people who with poor work ethic. Will never go there again!

Avoid! If you don’t want wait for a long time to be served. Unfortunately extremely poor and slow service but here is a very nice spot to take a look on the beauty building of the Croatian National theatar.

I‘ve never been to a Café worse than this. The waitress seemed like she did not want to be there, just like us! Our order was completely messed up but she insisted that it was correct. On top of that the coffee tasted old and the milk like it had gone bad. I would friendly, yet strongly advise against visiting this establishment.

In Central position in zagreb, in front of the opera house, do not serve food during the summer but cocktails are very well presented and extremely good. It is your place if you don't mind to spend a couple of euros more for a very well made cocktail. The Interior is simple and has few tables on the outside areas.

Apart of staff changing quite often it's a nice place for a coffee or aperitivo.

Loved it here. The staff were very friendly and the beer was excellent. They had 4-5 sours on tap, and sometimes it’s hard to find sours. It had rained the day before we came so the patio was pretty wet. They had nice covered patios for people to sit under outside and there was ample seating inside. I liked the airstream outside—cute touch. There is food to eat there, submarine and another restaurant.

Very friendly staff. Good selection of beers, both on tap and in cans — including their own craft brews. We took a few cans to go — the beer was excellent: affogato stout, mango IPA, and more. In my last few holidays in Croatia I fell in love with this company and it‘s beers. So a visit to the actual brewery was a no brainer as I was in Zagreb for a few days. The ambience and the beer was astounding. Tried a lot of new ones and returned to my all time favorite beer „Uvala“. Staff was nice aswell! Recommend to everyone that likes damn good beer.

Such a big variety of beers in a chill environment. It has a submarine inside so matches perfectly with the beers. The waitress and super helpful, kind and fun! It’s obvious that they enjoy their job.

Exceptional sour beers and service with great ambience and plenty of seating to enjoy an evening. Also super convenient to have two food hall options on site to choose from. The smash burgers at Submarine were so tasty with thin patties and delicious melted cheese and the chicken and cheese fries at the other stall were superb.

A must for all beer lovers. Non-smoking!!! Very hard to find such a place in Zagreb. And you won’t stay hungry too, there are two small street food buffets offering tasty meals, even for vegans or vegetarians. And you can buy some beer home too.

Great selection of beers. What I like most is the whole place. It is all in glass with many trees (even inside). Great place for kids to wander around. There are 2 places to eat inside: Submarine and some vegan place. Best thing is that kids eat for free on Sundays while parents can sit and relax.

One of the main attractions of Zagreb but it’s much smaller than I expected. Beautiful fresh and cut flowers and lavender being sold there, but apparently some flower vendors don’t allow photography of their flowers while some are very happy and proud when you take photos. I can definitely see that some of the flower vendors are an expert green thumb! Aside from this, one of the flower vendors suddenly moved in front of me strongly pushed down my phone mid-photograph and said something to me but I didn’t understand what she was saying. She also did that to other people in front of her stall. I wasn’t blocking her flower stall, just standing at the side to take a photo of her roses. She was not selling creative flower arrangements but cut roses in buckets like everyone else so I had presumed that photography was okay. Perhaps it would be better for the these vendors to put a small sign up saying that photography was not allowed since they are not comfortable with it; at least tourists would be aware of this. This interaction left a bad mark on the whole flower market experience. Besides this, I bought colourful wool socks from a lovely lady vendor who proceeded to give me a proper printed receipt for this…I’m not sure if receipts are the norm in this market since she was the only one who gave me a printed receipt. She also sold baskets and toys and woollen shoes which were all very pretty. A lot of vendors selling berries here: the blackberries, raspberries and cranberries were all very fresh and affordable.

Great local food market starts from early morning till early afternoon (06:30-14:00). You can get fruit and veg by the kilo for just 2–3 euros. If you enjoy a good bargain, arrive around 13:30, you might find large quantities of produce for just €1 each. Everything is very fresh and high quality. There are also some great local restaurants nearby.

Great markets. From flowers to honey fruits of the day. Also check out the meat and cheese sections that are below ground. Some cool souvenir shops as well. Stop have a coffee and take it all in. Great place for tourists

A local market where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, flowers, and more. Prices are reasonable, and the vendors are friendly. Shops start gradually opening around 7 AM. We bought fruit at a great price and enjoyed it throughout the trip :)

It's fun to walk around, of course if you want things there's a lot of vegetables, fruits, flowers and souvenirs. A few cafes line the market which are great for coffee or drinks. Many walkable streets in the vicinity.

It's a local bazaar, but small and not that great or inviting like other bazaars. There are mostly food vendors like meat buttlers, fruits and vegetables, bakeries, florists, and other shops. It's not worth visiting for tourists.

Climbed up around early evening—paid €3 per person, which felt like a steal for the breathtaking 360° panorama of Zagreb. From the top deck you can see the red-tiled rooftops of the Upper Town, the sprawl of the lower city, and the distant hills and mountains framing everything beautifully. The climb is steep and narrow (about three floors of stairs with a small museum of historical photos and cannon exhibits along the way), so it might not be ideal for anyone with serious mobility issues, but the payoff is absolutely worth it. When we visited it wasn’t busy at all—just the right crowd level to soak in the view without jostling—and we spent a good half hour up there taking it all in. Highly recommend as an affordable, unforgettable stop in Zagreb—don’t skip it!

The entry ticket of €6 for the watch tower entrance was totally worth it. The spiral staircase was narrow but well maintained. The steep 116 steps climb was daunting at first but there were two landings. It was a brilliant day the views were spectacular

It was nice, with a view of the town. Don’t expect something very tall or a large place. They shoot every day at 12. It was cool to be there at 12, as all tourists gather together and count down. Overall all a must-visit place in Zagreb if you ask me.👍

This is one of the more "touristy" places to visit in Zagreb but admittedly it was absolutely worth it. If you can make it a little before noon you can watch the cannonier load and fire the cannon and if you can make the climb up the narrow winding stairs you'll be rewarded with probably the best 360 view of the whole city. The cashiers at the entrance could have been a tad more courteous but alas, it wasn't that much of a bother. Worth a visit, recommended!

Totally worth going! The view is truly stunning. Recommendation: Have a smoothie down at the “Roots” bar at the bottom of the stairs after your climb, they are excellent! 🤗👍🏻

Just in time for the Gric Cannon at noon time. Great experience , we also entered the tower and climbed all the way to the top for a great view of Zagreb, too bad it seems the whole Zagreb is under renovation for some reason

Misleading marketing! 🚫🚫🚫 I ordered online and was supposed to get a discount for my cola and coffee. 1 euro less. I did everything as instructed on the website. However, I was charged full price. When asked waiter how is that possible he said " duck it " 🤷‍♂️😒 What kind of impolite and unprofessional service is this? I will not bankrupt for 1 euro, but the shame is on you and your bar now. Was it worth it?

The service was just absolutely terrible. The waiter was rude. We ordered drinks and were peacefully drinking them when one of the waiters approached us and rudely and aggressively told us to pay for the drinks even though we didn’t finish them. When we got the money ready he just disappeared and we had to wait for 15 minutes for him to go to the counter and take our payment. It is a shame and not a nice experience

Nice designed location in the center of Zagreb. You can have also something to eat (the menu is not offering a lot, but the food is tasty). It has got a big terrace with a nice view over the square. Prices are not very low but I think they are worthy.

This place is Big and spacious has a nice terrace facing the main square, inside the upper floor is a restaurant dedicated for tapas and wine bar called Sol, you must reserve before to come in… the place gets busy and loud at night. Coffee is very good. Service was polite you can pay with card or cash. Toilets need attention were dirty

I like the Johann Franck Café a lot, because I think it's very classy. Located right on the famous Ban Jelačić Square, it's the perfect spot for spending a little time, enjoy some food and drinks and watch the people walk by. We went there twice: One time we had some snacks during the day and the other time we enjoyed some cocktails. Everything was fine, and we liked the cocktails a lot. Only the staff seemed a bit inattentive.😉

Very rude female waitresses. They ignored me several times even though they saw me waive my hand to let them know I wanted to order until a male waiter saw me and came to take my order. I came in a sunny Sundy afternoon, and the place was packed full. I ordered flat white and sparkling water. The flat white was average. Nothing special.

Beautiful garden overlooking the square in the city center. We waited 10 minutes for waiter to come to take the order. I even called one, but he didn't respond. They should go around the tables in the first row more offten and see who is coming and going. Payment is by cash or card. Caffee should renovate the toilet because it is really a shame for a bar like this to have such a toilet.

Okay pub near the Cvjetni trg. We sat inside and it was an lovely atmosphere, but it was noisey alot to the point that you had to yell at. The prices shocked me because it was expensive. All in all, I recommend it to someone who loves livelier atmosphere and vintage decoration.

Good place to sit in or outside to meet with friends. It’s got two levels inside. The drinks we had were good quality and the service could be a bit faster. The waiter was serving several areas so often we could see him. Other than that it’s a nice bar with good atmosphere and music. Would definitely recommend.

Cracking bar with a few good craft beers on tap and a few bottles as well. Great outside area with plenty of tables and chairs. Staff very friendly and helpful. They let us bring some food in from one of the fab pizza take away shops

Great place to have a beer or other drink. The interior is done to remember you the inside space of a ship (nothing in relation with bar's name) whit a lot of wood and a vertical open space to the upper floor. They have installed on the ceiling 4 big ventilators which look as big ship propeller. Stylish without being expensive.

Great pub. Don't expect an "English" style pub although it has a proper pub vibe. Darts was on when I was there though. Good beer/service.

The Oliver Twist Pub in Zagreb is one of the many places on Ul. Ivana Tkalčića, which is the main street of Zagreb's nightlife. We sat on the terrace with a nice view of the street full of tourists for a break. The location is nice, it will most likely be nicer in the evening... the mise en place is simple and the service is good. The waiter also spoke English and we understood each other.

We went to this bar because they have promotion 20% discount on draft beer. In the end they charged us full price and even lied that’s 500ml beer cost 6.20€. We paid 10.40€ for 2 beers… we even leaved tips and I checked later how much it’s actually cost because 6.20€ - 20% is not 5.20€ !!! It’s not about money, it’s at all but respects toward customers!!! They thought we are foreigners, but we lived in Zagreb and known to read Croatian !

Sun, beer and friendly service! The menu consist of every drink, beer and shot you’d like. It’s situated in a nice street, it’s perfectly suited for big groups. Furthermore, it’s got flatscreen showing sports and what not. Big up!

They gave me coffee without water. Usually they gave standard water by coffee when you order.Its a trick they do that if you ask they will charge mineral water bottle. For the rest it's nice place to sit in the sun.

Cool decorations, the design really gives it an "worn-out" look, something that many pubs are desperately trying to achieve. Also, it is huge! Multiple different sections for different preferences - a shared zone is available, sitting next to a window too, and also a more private, chilled out 'lounge' in the back. We met some pretty colorful characters here too! (Recommedations for the rakija!)

It is a surreal experience to sit at the Old Pharmacy.. with stunning heritage decor and a really good looking bar, quirky art work and photographs - I was in love with the place ♥️

For pub/club The beer is very good and very cheap. Atmosphere is absolutely outstanding, however the music can sometimes be a bit dead. Depending on who DJs. So make sure you pick the right occasion and I guarantee you'll have a brilliant time.

nice and fun place, during the summer all was ok but my rating drops down because of current situation - customers are begging for drinks because there are not enough waiters even though the place is barely half full. also, an arrogant aggressive security guard at the entrance (obese one with eyeglasses) leaves much to be desired and makes you feel unwelcome. on the bright side, cheers to joza and vinko ;) you guys are doing a great job considering the circumstances. p.s. removed another star for not accepting cards and again, for rude and aggressive guard, just left such bad impression.

Really cozy bar - cozy music, good service and good prices. 1 draft beer 18 kuna, and lots of different options. Hidden gem. A bit far away from center, but worth a walk. Smoking inside is aloud - be aware of this.

Rock&blues place. Live music, great bands performing old school rock&blues. Loud, but you can talk. There's room for dancing, sitting or standing. Great interior decor with rock memorabilia. Nice staff. Smoking allowed. Terrace in front.

Very tastefully decorated with lots of attention to detail, memorabilia and ambiance, without being overwhelming. Drinks are reasonably priced, staff is polite. During my time here in September live music was only available Friday night. Good band with a good choice of classics, could use the addition of sax, trumpets and harmonica but did a good job despite. Recommended, will be back.

Even though it is placed on the main touristic route through the city it is somehow authentic and relaxed. Small stage with a live band and also great staff helps providing nice atmosphere.

Everything is great, but please invest in air conditioning because during the concert it's almost impossible to be inside. This is why I often decide not to go to concerts and similar events. (I'm not the only one who thinks so)

I think it's one of the most important bars in Zagreb in the alternative scene, they always bring quality artists, the drinks are well priced and the atmosphere is pleasant.

Nice club with tasty food and a comfortable atmosphere. Amazing music and art. It wouldn’t be bad if the building would just get renovated since it’s a little bit run down. Since on Google it doesn’t say “dogs allowed”, they could be allowed inside and outside if they’re not right now.

A lot has changed in the last 15years since i last been there. Toilets and rest of the club is clean and nice, no risk of diseases like before. 🤣 But it was hot like hell, some ventilation would be nice. And your audio tech sucks, louder isnt always better. 😘

This is an alternative music club with very original artwork & atmosphere.

Being a student-run place, it offers great fun for relatively low price. It's a caffe in the morning and the afternoon, and at night it turns into a club with very wide variety of events, so there's something for everyone.

Legendary place! Celebrating 40+ years of operation. Cheap prices and great programmes. It's run by a student organization and is an essential part of Zagreb night life and student life in general. Cheap and good coffee during the day, cheap and OK beer during the evening with a various programme ranging from movie projections, music concerts, live performances, karaoke, theatre plays all the way to workshops etc. If you are near and something from their programme got your attention. Visit it :)

Great student club with variety of quality concerts and other programmes for students and others. They also have sections that contribute to their programme (theatre section, video, music etc.).

You cannot describe the feeling of 40 years of tradittion and legacy crammed ito one place. Feels like home.

Great venue and fantastc sound when bands play, its a bit off the beaten track to find if your not familiar with the area.

The cathedral has been under renovation for a few years now, but it still is a pleasant sight to see. Under renovation means no access to the inside as well; was gated off for the majority of the time. It is the second tallest building in Croatia and the most monumental sacral building of Gothic architecture southeast of the Alps.

Looks interesting from the outside, but it's temporarily closed (due to further renovations?). There are some old Medieval-looking city walls and fortifiations right next to the cathedral, but those are also inaccessible (at least from the sides nearest the cathedral) due to the work being done.

It's unfortunate that this cathedral is being renovated and temporarily closed barricaded with scaffolding. This renovation seems forever. At the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, gold sculpture is there to behold.

It was closed for renovation during my visit, but the massive artistic structure looked very impressive from the outside.

What I could see of it was nice but both towers were covered in construction unfortunately. Had hoped it would be less since in most photos only part of one tower was covered but oh well

It’s amazing architecture, especially during Christmas they have market at night . Various kinds of food stall , my favourite no-alcoholic tea and sweets are served. Even at-10*c, this place is buzzing and lots of things to do. Cathedral itself a nice place to visit but it has been years that they started renovating. However, it hasn’t finished. Hopefully they will finish soon.

The cathedral is located in the center of Zagreb. From the very beginning, its size catches the eye. Additionally, it has interesting decorations. It makes a huge impression in real life. Unfortunately, I could not see it in its entirety, because it was under renovation. Nevertheless, I recommend seeing it!

Second visit, accompanying a friend. Got 20 percent off with Zagreb card and I would still say the best thing about this place might be the reasonably priced gift shop (which has scope for expansion,as only a few of the works seen in the museum are available in the shop). You walk through 5 rooms, and can comfortably see everything in 15 minutes.

It was not my cup of tea, but i can appreciate the dainty work that has been put in the paintings and how effective they look painted on the glass. If you are a lover of art then it is a must see! 😊

cute little museum with fairly priced entrance fee of 5€ (for students 3.50€). there was a lot of informative texts to learn from and there were also surveys that you can fill in for the museum, which i found very cool since this is a good way for visitors to communicate with the museum even though it’s indirectly.

I visited this little museum during my trip to Zagreb the last weekend. The exhibition contained a lot of different sceneries. The ticket price was very fair.

I love the phrase “naive” art for artists not professionally trained. This is a small museum with a lovely collection of Croatian art. Mostly Sculptures and paintings. I enjoyed it all! The art tells stories about the countryside and the people. Highly recommended! Check hours prior to going.

Beautiful park in Zagreb easily accessible with the tram from the city center. Visit the zoo, rent a boat, or enjoy one of the multiple coffee shops and restaurants located in the park. Discover both the city park and the forestry area near the back for a relaxing break from the city.

A green escape in Zagreb Although Zagreb as a city didn’t quite capture my heart, I have to admit its green areas are wonderful. I really enjoyed a morning run in Park Maksimir — peaceful, spacious, and full of fresh air. A perfect spot to recharge.

This park will reset your being. So much natural beauty to take in. Zoo was great and worth the price, also celebrating 100 years . Directly off public transportation and easy to navigate. I only have Balboa Park in San Diego and Discovery Park in Seattle to compare to and Park Maksimir blows them both out of the water. It was so refreshing to see families and people of all ages and walks of life enjoying such a magical place in the middle of a city.

I used to really love this place and came here at least twice a week but then they changed the menu from casual lunch and finger food to some kind of overpriced fine dining which doesn’t match the vibe of this place at all. recently they brought back a few meals from the previous menu, which was mostly perfect so I ordered something I used to love before which is duck spring rolls and the super food salad with shrimps. The duck spring rolls came unrecognisable. I will provide in the pictures below how it looked before and how it looks now. Along with the much smaller portion size those spring rolls are the top five worst things I’ve ever tasted in my life from outside they are dry and from inside they are so tasteless. The best way to describe taste is if you bought them frozen on a gas station and then microwaved them at home. The salad was okay, I would previously I would previously rate it as a 10/10 but now it’s like 8/10 it’s just a slightly bit different

The eggs Benedict were disappointingly bland, and the English muffin/bun was dry, making this place seem overrated. While the coffee was decent, there are plenty of better breakfast spots in Zagreb worth exploring.

Great. A lovely place right next to the slopes leading up to the Upper Town of Zagreb — serves great food, and makes nice drinks. Served on a beautiful patio or sit inside, with the scrambled eggs I had being nicely soft and coming with a portion of cream cheese and some toasted bread. Service was great and friendly.

What an absolutely fabulous experience in Zagreb! I am a self proclaimed Oenophile and so I could not pass up an opportunity to visit Bornstein Wine bar while in Zagreb. During my time in Croatia I really enjoyed learning about their unique wines, wine culture and processing. This experience was truly unique and the prices here are very affordable. We were taken care of by a woman named Doris who was so patient in answering all my questions and thorough in her explanations of the wines, history and regions. She went out of her way to make the experience special including making sure I got to try wines that I hadn't already tasted elsewhere. All the wine was paired with a wonderful cheese, olive and bread tray enhancing and elevating the wines. The atmosphere here is so cool, you feel like you are transported to a centuries old wine cellar including getting to see the oldest bottle of wine in Croatia! I would definitely frequent this place if I lived in Zagreb for unique glasses of rare wines, and even do the wine tasting multiple times due to the fact that Doris picked different wines to create a new experience. If you love wine and learning about wine, or just a good glass you can't get just anywhere I highly recommend going here.

We did the Croatian Tour wine tasting menu. This was great! The owner was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. The wine tasting came with a selection of cheeses which were all delectable, and a small bowl of bread with a Croatian olive oil. Would highly recommended for both people who know a little about wine and for the experts as the history of the wine was the main focus. A must-go if you’re in Zagreb.

Doris was most helpful, explaining the terroir of each of the wines we tasted. The Istrian meat and cheese plates were an excellent way to complement the wines. It’s clear that the owners are passionate about their craft. A most enjoyable evening.

I can't rate the food as we just went for late night drinks. Fabulous wine bar just a few minutes walk from Ban Jelačića Square, nice and close to the centre but in a quiet part of town. Great atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, the building and place look stunning. Owners are knowledgeable and know their wines, I had a new variety of white that I tried called Pusipel which was stunning - dry and crisp. Just what I wanted! Highly recommend this place, worth a visit to do some wine tasting, sit, relax and enjoy the stunning ambiance.

The wine flight with olives and bread was fantastic. Tasty Croatian wines and a wine education to go with it. I wish we had found this place sooner!

We had an evening of beers and burgers at this bar. The beer selection is very extensive and the waitress helped in making our choices as we were unfamiliar with the local craft brewers. Burgers came from an onsite street food vendor. They were massive and very tasty. At €11 for a double cheeseburger (including fries) seemed pretty good value. Worth noting that the burger vendor only accepts cash (cards are fine for the bar).

This was a great find for locals and visitors alike. Great burgers and fries from the Blue Haired guy at KSS (situated within Beertija) and cold beer and cocktails from Beertija. Credit cards or euros accepted at both Beertija and KSS. Cigar and cigarette smoking is welcomed. If weather is stormy, windy or cold, Beertija has indoor and undercover seating.

A very quirky pub just on the outskirts of the city centre. A great selection of drinks, especially local beers. The pub and music is very rock themed which I loved. The atmosphere was a bit quiet, but I did visit on a Monday early evening so that's probably why. But overall, would recommend visiting for a beer or two.

Really lovely venue with a large and fascinating exhibition on Women artists 1927-1940. Really well curated and displayed, a fascinating range of topics and styles. Only disappointment was not a single thing in the shop related; no poster, exhibition guide or books on any of the featured artists. See the exhibition, campaign for prints and books!!!

A really beautiful museum located in the upper part of the city which is considered the old town! Some exhibits are temporary. Very informative exhibitions and extensive collections! Great lighting for the art and spaced well throughout the various levels of the building. The inner courtyard is really lovely! I went on a weekend and there was a long line, so we went out for a coffee nearby and when we came back there was hardly any line at all. There’s also a gift shop inside.

Large building, old monastery, located in the Gornji Grad. Excellent exhibitions, they usually take place on the first and second floors. Amazing views of Zagreb's Cathedral from the inside. The place also has a store with variety of books, posters and other materials.

A great museum with a rotating exhibit, currently about really cool robots! The staff is very friendly and happy when you come in. I only speak English and they were very friendly and spoke perfectly English to help guide me. They even gave me directions to another shop so I can find certain gifts friends have been asking me for.

This place is my favorite local bar serving a great variety of local and international beer both on tap and canned. The owner is a super nice guy, helpful and is very passionate and knowledgeable about beers he is serving. Each week they have a different offer of beer. This place is in a heart of Zagreb and it’s a 3min walk from the main square.

Like Metal music? Like beer? (Other drinks are available) Like a good service? Drink here. Lots of craft beers and a good atmosphere. Note: they allow smoking indoors. Not a problem for us, but something worth considering.

The interior looks nicely decorated, service is very kind and there's a huge terrace behind. Although the place is dog friendly, it's also smoke friendly what doesn't impress me since it's a habit that belongs more to the past rather than 2025/26. It would be better if only e-cigarettes were allowed instead of regular ones since not only they smell less, but it's also newer technology. It's the same as driving a car with a carbureted engine versus that with fuel injection. Previously, there was a non-smoking establishment in it's place, but after it closed down, unfortunately this came. Music is also quite loud, but since it's a bar, it needs to be loud.

This place pretends to be a rock and metal bar, however the music is so quiet you can't hear anything, just people talking. There is a wide choice of beers but I was given a dirty glass. The toilets smell very bad of urine and everywhere elses smells of smoke. The barman/owner also smells of body odour and is the rudest and most unhappy man i have seen working in any bar. There are many better bars in Zagreb.

We were recommended this place to try Rakhia on our vacation and it was definitely a good recommendation. Good service and good atmosphere, we got a great deal on 10 shots which was simply very fun and a great way to get a taste of the drink Only reason for no 5 stars is because the bathroom situation was bad (I didn't go but the friends I was with reported no toilet seats, a door that couldn't lock and one without a door, so I didn't feel like checking it out) and the menu was only in Croation and a little bit outdated. That wasn't terrible but it would be nice for the names of the drinks on the menu to have meaning. However, the waiter was very helpful and just recommended us some things so it wasn't really an issue

We had a fantastic night, the moment we sat down on the lush comfy chairs while the rain was trickling down we were greeted by an angel in disguise by the name of TJ. He gave us an unforgettable experience and we would recommend him to everyone visiting this majestic place. 11/10

When I first arrived to Zagreb from Canada, I was told to meet with friends at Rakhia Bar. I definitely was not disappointed! Nice place to meet people and interact. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We have been there several times within the past week already. Seems like the go to place for international students.

One of my favourite go-to bars in the city. Would advise you check the programme before you go. Sometimes they hold pub quizzes there so it gets super crowded when you'd least expect it.

The basement is _awesome_ if you love dancing and (electro) funk music!!! There was enough space to dance freely, no broken glass on the floor or mess on the tables. Great place to go for your first stop, on for an all night party in Zagreb. The drinks are well priced, entry is completely free and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The basement (where the dj plays) can get extremely hot, but there are 3 floors total and an outside area to chill as well.

Total disappointment despite the nice reviews here. Interior was nice and unique, that's all the positive stuff. Negatives: Bartenders didn't care when we ordered 2 beers at the bar, just pointed to our table. We waited 10 minutes before leaving, the bartenders were washing mugs and preparing coffee despite everyone had some drinks on their tables. People smoke inside the pub and our table had mugs and glasses on it. Staff acted unprofessional, careless, looked depressed.

A small Cafe resembling a couple of train wagons from the actual Orient Express, the bartender knows his drinks, and recommended the best for our visit. Would recommend!

Well worth stopping by this bar/cafe, sit inside and be taken back to the days of travel by train. The cafe is a true replica of the famous orient express train. It feels like a tourist trap, but the pricing was reasonable, great service and visited by locals. The attention to detail and experience made it memorable.

Loving some tasty beers and good company with an amazing bartender! A must stop while exploring the streets of Zagreb. All the top shelf drinks are there as if you were part of an old time train car ride. Covered wood finishes for the feel of the real thing!

Good club to visit if you're in the area and want to skip going to the city centre. You have to pay for the entrance. Inside quite a lot of space plus if they open the back terrace it gets bigger. Drinks expensive. Music was good and staff was ok. People start coming after 11.30, 12 so don't come early.

Very poor quality security and very rude staff. Their organization is horrible as they have 0 communication with each other. You still have to pay for the ticket even though you made a pricey reservation. Dj is 2/10. Do not recommend. Btw there is no actual roof.

Came here after reading reviews and hearing about its popularity whilst only serving the Croatian dish, strukli. I've had struklji before in Slovenia so I had some expectations of what it would be like, but they were slightly different. To try a variety, we as a two ordered the truffle flavour savoury strukli, blueberry flavoured sweet strukli, and also a deep fried one, together with a couple of drinks. The service was fairly good and the strukli came out steaming hot from the oven. My favourite turned out to be the truffle flavour, as I loved the delicious creaminess of it whilst having a subtle truffle taste. In this sense, I felt like the savoury strukli in Croatia was better than the one I had tried in Slovenia which were very different. However, for the sweet one, although the blueberry flavoured was tasty, it didn't beat the flavours at Moji Struklji Slovenije in Ljubljana. Still, the blueberry flavour was very delicious, and sweet in just the right amount. My least favourite was the deep fried one with cheese. It was still good but felt a little boring in its flavour and I struggled to finish it all. Although the dishes are good, it can get a bit heavy and monotonous so I would recommend sharing a few different flavours. Overall, I enjoyed my experience so I would definitely recommend it as something to try in Zagreb and I would go back there if I returned to the city.

This place is quite popular in Zagreb; our host recommended it for trying local food, and of course we visited as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant, though during the season you may have to wait in line if you want to sit outside in the garden, which is really beautiful. The classic Struk was delicious and I definitely recommend trying it. We also tasted the blueberry Struk, but we weren’t too impressed—though that’s completely a matter of taste. I’d recommend going and experiencing the local food for yourself. P.S. Be careful, it’s served very hot, so don’t burn your mouth 😀

This charming and enchanting restaurant is located on a short, narrow street that has seating areas from the different restaurants down the middle with narrow sidewalks beside. La Struk specializes in ‘strukli’ which is a dish unique to Zagreb. The menu is dedicated to a wonderful variety of versions of strukli which is “made from a hand-stretched dough – which must be so thin you should be able to read newspaper through it – and filled with fresh cottage cheese”. There are sweet and savoury versions, as well as a deep-fried version. While they only have one gluten-free version, a must for celiacs is that it is made separately. My wife thoroughly enjoyed hers, although both her and I found our meals to be quite filling – so go with an appetite! I chose the savoury pumpkin seed version which was enjoyable, although the pumpkin flavour could have been enhanced a little more. If I were to visit again I would choose the savoury truffle paste. One disappointing facet of this dedication to strukli, is that there were no salads or vegetables on the menu. We thought it would have been nice if we could have shared a strukli and a salad. Prices were very reasonable with all options below E10.

Warm and cozy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Top layer tastes like béchamel and the dough tastes like something you would find in a dessert. New and different combination for me, but I enjoyed it. I will have to try one of the sweet options next.

Stopped by La Štruk to try the iconic štrukli, and the flavor didn’t disappoint—rich, cheesy, and comforting. I ordered the roasted pepper version, though the pepper was pretty elusive on the palate. The staff were kind and welcoming, which definitely made the experience more enjoyable. At €9.50 a portion, it feels steep, especially considering how affordable good food usually is around Zagreb. I get the sense it's more of a spot tourists flock to than a local go-to, likely because of the price. Still, it’s worth trying if you’re keen to sample traditional Croatian fare in a cozy setting.

Nice Strukli. It was served fresh from the oven. We ordered salted cheese Gratinated Strukli €9 and truffle paste Gratinated strukli €9.50. Love the latter. There is the kuhani version, ie cooked. It is the rolled version.

They’ve managed to capture over 900 years of Zagreb’s history in this impressive museum. At first, you might wonder if the €5 entry fee is worth it—but as you walk through the seemingly endless rooms, it quickly becomes clear that it’s more than worth the price. If you want to explore the exhibits in detail, plan to spend at least a few hours here. Be sure to bring a fully charged phone-having the Google Translate app handy is useful, as many of the exhibit descriptions are written in Croatian. We found the modern history section particularly interesting and less well-known. The museum is closed on Mondays.

The evolution of a city like Zagreb over more than few thousand years from Iron Age to the 20th century is not just about urban development but about the history of Croatia as a country too. Because the City Museum traces this development from Iron Age settlement to the 1990s there is something here to interest most adults with many entertaining exhibits, stories and photos. My personal favorites are the rooms about life in the 19th century with the rise of nationalism and expansion of Zagreb in to a modern metropolis. A great way to spend a few hours learning about your host nation and city on a rainy day!

Tells the entire history of the region surrounding modern day Zagreb, from the iron age (includes an in-person excavation of the Late Bronze age/early iron age site in the NE of Zagreb) to the modern day, including Celtic, Medieval and later stages. Good collection of artifacts across the period. Will take about 1-2 hours to complete, and the price is extremely reasonable. One problem (and the reason for 3 stars) is that ~33% of the information boards were only in Croatian. Had to use ai to photo and translate, which isn't ideal.

Much of the text is in Croatian and what is available in English is quite dense. As a casual English speaking visitor I felt both alienated by many plaques not being translated but also not really engaged by rather dry explanations on the English panels. If you do speak Croatian and really like Croatian history, ready for a deep dive, you’ll enjoy it loads though. I didn’t, but for the small price I paid I can’t complain too much. They do have a lot a lot of exhibits. No air con though, which saddened me greatly

Nice Museum to understand the history of Zagreb. The museum contains a lot of 3D Models various buildings and castles. Overall it's good to visit the museum.

A must see for visitors to Zagreb! Exhibitions feel endless ( in a good way! ) with so many historical artifacts, story lines, and ever archeological digs on sight. One issue is that most items do not have English translations, but most of the more important items do. Still well worth it 👍

Is you love art like me, this I the place to get lost for couple of hours , the museum is big, lovely architecture, people working in there are friendly and polite. Toilets are clean, you have access by a lift or stairs to all the floors I was pleased with the lovely collection of paintings 😍. They have some sculptures and china The cost is 40 kunas and the cloakroom is free. Highly recommended to visit this place 😊😊😊

Loved it 💟 A wonderful welcome from the receptionist who provides all the information you need. You must check in your backpack or bags (I had all my art materials so kept going back!). It's huge so I spent hours here - there were a couple of recitals, and although there's a cafe that serves delicious coffee, I went to the Arts and Crafts museum restaurant for lunch (another receptionist recommendation and it was excellent!). If you love art, then this is a brilliant place to hang out.

In 1972, Ante Topić Mimara, a businessman who was also a collector, painter and restorer, donated his extensive collections to the city of Zagreb, and the Mimara Museum was set up for their display. The museum is housed in an enormous NeoRenaissance building built in 1895 by the German architects Ludwig and Hülsner. The works are displayed chronologically from the prehistoric era to the present day. The archaeological section is particularly fascinating, with important finds from ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia, PreColumbian America, as well as the Middle and Far East (Japan, Cambodia, Indonesia and India are represented). The icon collection not only contains Russian pieces, but also has icons from Palestine, Antioch and Asia Minor dating from the 6th to the 13th centuries. There are ancient Persian, Turkish and Moroccan carpets, and about 300 exhibits cover over 3,500 years of the development of Chinese art, from the Shang to the Qing dynasties. The 550 glassware exhibits come from Europe, as well as Persia, Turkey and Morocco. About 1,000 objects and pieces of furniture give a good overall picture of European craftsmanship from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. There is also a wide-ranging collection of 200 sculptures, which date from ancient Greece to the time of the Impressionists. They include works by the Italian sculptors Giambologna, the Della Robbias and Verrocchio, and the Frenchmen Jean-Antoine Houdon and Auguste Rodin. Italian painting is represented by, among others, Veronese, Paolo Veneziano, Pietro Lorenzetti, Raphael, Canaletto, Giorgione and Caravaggio. Dutch Baroque painting is represented by Rembrandt, Jacob Van Ruisdael and Jan Van Goyen. Flemish masters here include Rogier van der Weyden, Hieronymus Bosch, Van Dyck and Rubens. Nice museum, although I have expected more from the one of the main museums in the capital of a country, especially the fine arts section - aside from the very few works of the greatest names of art (3 or 4) , most of the paintings are made by so-called "schools" or followers (imitators) of these great artists. The permanent exhibition mostly consists of baroque, gothic, a little bit of renaissance and (to my disappointment) a very few works of impressionism. The display is a bit stretched out just to fill out the grand space.

It's amazing to see a great collection from an art lover and multifaceted Patriot of Croatia, the painstakingly preservation need to be appreciated, a must visit for any traveller.

The Archaeological Museum in Zagreb is a very well-curated and interesting museum that offers a deep dive into Croatia's rich history. It's an absolute must-see for anyone interested in the ancient past, from prehistoric times through the Roman era and beyond. The collection of artifacts is impressive and diverse, and the exhibits are thoughtfully organized, making it easy to follow the historical narrative. While the museum is excellent, it could benefit from more interactive elements or a bit more modern presentation in some areas to fully engage a wider audience. However, the quality of the artifacts and the overall historical value more than make up for it.

Far less impressive than other European archeological museums go. The extremely detailed info plaques are a huge plus (all with English translations!) but you won't find anything you can't find in other, larger museums. For a museum this small, space is also not used most effectively, such as an entire floor dedicated to relatively modern Asian dresses.

this is a great archeological museum rich in history and cultures! the staff was friendly, helpful and most importantly kept things in place. there were a lot of informational texts about the certain periods and artefacts, however they were awfully long and that makes it a bit hard to gather good intel if you are interested in a lot of topics.

It is well worth visiting the Archaeological museum. There is a fascinating archaeological history of the area which helped us understand how Croatia developed. But for me the best was on the top floor - the book of the dead, as it’s a unique linguistic document which helps understand the history of writing. Also well worth seeing is the collection of Roman helmets - we had never seen anything like that before.

Such a cool, unique little place. The Tolkien theme- an obsession of the owner- runs throughout the place. The outdoor area sits on a quiet corner across from an old church. Best pub we went to in Zagreb.

We had already planned to visit here when we went to Zagreb. We figured we would have a few beers and maybe spend 1-1,5 hours but we ended up staying a good 4-5 hours because the atmosphere and the music were so nice and we felt very much 'at home'. They have really nice local craft beers on tap from Nova Runda and also a variety of other European beers including very good Lord of the Rings themed beers from Mad Scientist. This is a must visit if you like everything Tolkien, fantasy, board games, good beers and good vibes! When we left the bartender even recommended a shop in Zagreb where they offer a very wide variety of craft beers. We will definitely be back when we visit Zagreb again!

The “real deal” in terms of a craft beer pub in Zagreb. Good selection of local beers in a quirky bar. Whether you are a fan of hobbits and the like or not, it is a real experience unlike some nearby “craft” bars

Had an amazing afternoon at Tolkien’s House! It’s such a great spot. Friendly staff, and an awesome selection of craft beers. We ended up staying the whole afternoon just enjoying the vibe and trying different special brews. To top it all off, they surprised us with a house specialty beer at the end – a perfect finish to a perfect visit. Highly recommend this place if you’re into good beer and good times! 🍻

It was fun, we went as a goof but it wasn't bad, they had a few good beers and the music was decent. Eventually more people showed up.

Good spirited staff. They faced the situation with poise and equanimity. We just witnessed a bachelor party of a dozen drunk obnoxious men that wrecked the place as they left. Shameful. They broke a table, broke glasses, spilled beer everywhere, and left without leaving a tip.

World-class coffee! ☺️☕️ However, interior is a bit claustrofobic and chairs have no backrest so they are not comfy. 😔 Also it is a bit dark inside ao it looks closed even if it is open. I would reccomend it for takeaway coffee, but not to stay inside and drink it.

We stopped at the door because of the door handles (single handle portafilter). I have to say, I am a bit crazy about coffee and was not aware that I found the best place in Zagreb at that moment. My wife and me got a perfect coffee and had really nice talks with the owner and other guests. We enjoyed it so much. Many thanks for this experience. If you like coffee I can strongly recommend to go there.

The cappuccino we ordered was velvety smooth. Definitely rates as one of the best I’ve had - the texture, taste and flavor were perfect. The barista/ owner is a thorough gentleman and is constantly pushing for perfection. The ambience is all about coffee.

Hands down the best coffee in Zagreb . Customer service is prompt and friendly and the quality of coffee is outstanding. A small cafe located near the British square on the main strip - Ilica. Can be difficult to find a spot at times particularly on the weekends before 11 am as they are very popular, but they do takeaway and you can grab a takeaway and stroll down Ilica or past the British square into the parklands and forest . Very nice place to enjoy your coffee. Very industrial and modern. The latte and the coffee was tasty and good. The only minus star is because everybody smokes inside and we couldn't stand the smoke after a while. Moreover your clothes and hair smell so bad after a small stay there.

As a non-smoker tourist, I have to say this pub has a lot going for it—great atmosphere, lovely staff, and a nice spot to grab a drink. However, the smoking inside was a bit of a bummer for me. While the smokers were comfortably enjoying themselves inside, I found it tricky to enjoy my drink without that smoke lingering in the air and on the taste buds. We ended up retreating outside, which was lovely on such a nice day. If you're a smoker, you'll probably love it here, but as a non-smoker, I'd prefer to keep the fresh air with my pint. But really, the staff were wonderful, so they almost made up for it!

Botaničar is a charming café tucked away on the quiet street of Marka Marulića, just steps from the Botanical Garden. The name perfectly reflects the theme and ambiance of the place. Inside, the café is cozy and stylish, designed in a modern, Scandinavian-student-inspired style that feels both fresh and welcoming. Outside, the terrace is small but very cozy, partly sheltered by plants, which successfully creates a relaxing, green atmosphere. In the morning, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the shade, while in the afternoon, the tables across the street—almost in a little park—offer a lovely green view that adds extra charm to the café experience. What stood out the most was the staff—uniformed, professional, and authentic—which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, Botaničar is a delightful spot to relax, enjoy good coffee, and soak in a calm, botanical-inspired atmosphere.

Traditional, independent cinema in the very heart of the city. Interesting program with focus on European Cinema, World Cinema and festivals. Often showcases alternative voices. Bar and cafe area good for chilling before a film or just when passing by.

Cozy place located in Zagreb's center, where one can come watch great movies (usually ones from the not so conventional side and also hosts some pretty good movie festivals) but also drink excellent coffee, tea, mulled wine or bear. The bar has nice staff, fast service and attracts urban, artsy crowd. I like coming here for both the cinema and having drinks with friends.

Had a good time. This is not your regular movie theatre. You will enjoy projections in a historical landmark, a unique room that might be used as a ballroom in the 17th century. The ticket price is extraordinarily low. 5 stars!

It is a part of the beautiful Zagreb culture, although it is only a movie theater. The inside can leave you a bit overwhelmed since you don't expect such a classy hall but it's pretty romantic.

Nice cafe in foyer of famous cinema "Europa". The atmosphere is very artistic and also you can meet really people from the film industry, especially one from non-commercial part. They serve premium sort of coffee. For city center the price are reasonable.

Very popular cinema in Zagreb with the best sound quality. I like this place. Usually before the movie I drink a cup of coffee in local cafe or visit some shops. Zagreb film festival will start soon and I will definitely visit it.
