I’ve had a few great evening meals at chalk and finally went for brunch getting to sit in the beautiful front garden. I ordered beans on toast which are house made and not from a can although it didn’t say this. Normally I’d be pleasantly surprised but it was drowning in oregano which personally i don’t like. As I couldn’t eat it I asked for some toast to have the eggs with which I was willing to pay for. Frustratingly this took over ten minutes and I had to chase twice which was annoying as it wasn’t particularly busy . Advice would be better descriptions on the menu and a little urgency when customers ask for help.

Went for breakfast solo, not busy early. Did get asked if I had any friends, which wasn’t best start. Food was good. With full English you do pay extra for hash browns. Smoothies were very good

This place is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the lighting created such a warm and inviting atmosphere, especially in the front room area where we were seated. I ordered the duck breast, and it was cooked to perfection every bite was delish! The kitchen did brilliant along with our server, a lovely young lady with long brunette hair, she was so attentive and sweet, definitely made the whole experience even better. We can't wait to go back!

From the outside, Chalk looks as though it offers a lot but our experience there was lacking. The service was very slow and it took over 20 mins for our drinks to arrive. We ordered some sides and a prawn and mango salad. The starters were perfectly nice and well presented but the prawn and mango salad was clearly assembled from packets from the supermarket. It's such a shame but based on this experience both of service and food, it's not somewhere I'd recommend.

By far the BEST Turkish food I’ve had within Berkshire, in 18 years. WOW!! Not only is the quality of the food, superb! But the level of Customer Service as well, Is outstanding. The whole team couldn’t have been more friendly, Offering us extra things to “try” (as we were new, and driven 45 mins exclusively to try out the place we’ve heard so much about!). Traditional Turks aka super Hospitable. The TURKISH PIDE was yummy (lamb mince and cheese). Everything was served HOT! Fresh!! We love that they make everything in house - and you get to WATCH the bakers making the bread, and sweet treats. Note; we ate in, As they have a small seating area for four people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. One of the best takeaways I've been too. Working in the area staying at he premier inn but had to try this I'm not local but if I was this would be my go too I only ordered the extra large Donner kebab and received all of the for £13.50 amazing

I've been a regular at Laz Tadim for over 5 years now. If you're local, you probably already know how good they are, but if you're new, keep reading. Laz Tadim is not your average UK kebab shop. The place is spacious, bright, and always spotless with friendly staff. You can really see how efficient and popular they are, especially during peak hours. On quieter days, you might even get to chat with the owner or others serving you. I’ve genuinely never seen such high quality packaging from any takeaway in my 18 years in the UK. They pay attention to the little things, and it shows. We usually go for the chicken shish, which comes with freshly baked bread and fresh salad. The freshness and quality are always spot on. Portions are very good, and everything tastes clean and well prepared. I haven’t had steaming hot bread with grilled meat like this anywhere else in the UK. We also enjoy their doners and grilled chicken wings now and then. I’ve tried their fish and chips a few times when ordering just for myself, and it's excellent too. And if you're into sauces, definitely try the Turkish Ezme. It’s a homemade sweet and spicy tomato and herb mix that my wife absolutely loves. Pro tip: order directly through their website for collection. It's quick, easy, and they often throw in a little something extra, which is always a nice surprise.

I've been struggling with kebabs in Reading ever since Lamziki closed. Laz Tadim is by far the best kebab I've ever had in this country. It is a bit pricey on delivery, but it is well worth it. Never getting a kebab from anywhere else now. Warning - their large mixed kebab can easily feed 2, maybe even 3 with the bread and the fresh homemade potato chips it came with. If you ordered this with actual chips it'd feed a FAMILY. Even whilst costing more online than in the store, this is tremendous value.

I highly recommend this restaurant, my only issue is that they open late 3pm onwards! The food is diverse, clean, tasty & above all very well prepared! Portions are quiet large, reflecting the pricey items on the menu. They serve a range of Middle Eastern & Mediterranean dishes, from doners to pizza! You have got to try their freshly made crisps & bread, else you are missing a lot! Highly recommended for take out dinner, as there is no seating inside. You can also order online & get your food delivered if you are nearby. Enjoy your meal 🥘

This is my local Burger king which i use often. The staff are always friendly happy and full of smiles. The service is on point which plenty of attentiveness. it can get very busy and the staff are very good at keeping on top, especially with a bowling alley and swimming pool right next door.

I took my son to Burger King for lunch after his party. I had 9 children there. The staff were brilliant at giving all the kids crowns, making sure all the oder was correct, checking in etc. kids loved it, food was all gone and although a small space, the kids were able to move around a bit.

I ordered the XL Bacon double cheeseburger and large fries for a late lunch, about 2pm. The drive-through was empty, so far so good! Firstly, my food arrived very quickly. Secondly, the order was correct. Thirdly, it was delicious. Sometimes, the bun is a little dry, but this was not the case. Fries were well seasoned with just the right amount of salt for my taste. The diet coke was a diet coke! Thank you for an enjoyable lunch.

The reason I am only giving it 2 stars are because of the toilets. Went there yesterday with my grandchildren for a treat. We needed to use the toilets, so wish we hadn't. They were disgusting. To the point even my grandson wouldn't touch anything and asked why they smelt so bad. The stench of urine was so bad we were putting our hands over our nose and mouth to try and dispel it. This was the disabled toilet and my husband said the gents was worse. This is not acceptable for a restaurant and they definitely need refurbishment.

Bought chicken n chip.. worst chips ever eaten. Luke warm, cooked in dirty, old oil for sure. Chicken v dry - will stick with KFC in future. Won't ask fish n chips as dirty oil chips and fish doesn't appeal to me.

Food is great have enjoyed fish and chips, pizza, fried chicken, kebabs and its always but the waiting time is shocking. Ordered 2 items tonight and pre-ordered them was told 25 mins so arrived on time and had to wait another 25 mins in the shop !! Staff don't really seem to care meed to sort it out

We ordered 80 portions of Fish and Chips from Bob's for our a community Quiz Night. Stefan was really helpful, easy to contact and made the whole process very simple. The food was great, arrived on time, lots of people said how much they enjoyed it and the portions were bigger than I expected for such a large order. Driving home and past this place decided to get the family chips for tea. £8.40 for 3 portions of chips to which they were the size of a kids meal. Will not be going again. I felt as I walked in I was interrupting the woman. No smile or a hello aswell :/ Chips were luke warm not sure if they have been reheated or not.

Wow. How can it be this bad? I ordered 2 items from their Chinese menu. Set meal for 1 A was made up of three items. What we got was a tray about the size of a family pie with a small portion of each mixed into this one tray. The pork was tough and fatty and this for £10!!! The other item was special fried rice. At £5.60 it seemed good value but the tray was tiny. So to make their price low, you get a small meal which I question if it was actually 'fried' rice. If you can travel to another Chinese, even if it's miles away, it'll be worth it.

Bean sprout brutality!! We ordered a plain beef chow mein and was given a curry instead! Went back to the store and asked for a replacement didn’t even apologise for getting the order wrong. And again we mentioned our order of plain beef chow mein (with only soya sauce, noodles and beef). Got home, we opened the container and much to our delight 90% of the dish was beansprouts!

Don't often get fish and chips but usually come here when i do. Fish was cooked fresh and with 2 others in front of me it was a reasonable 5 min wait. Cost £8.60 for large fish and small (but ample) chips. Pretty sure I've paid £20 elsewhere for fish and chips and this was very tasty. Homemade pickled onions rounded this off.

Hi all. I would give 5 start as the 1st bite me and my girl realised the pizza its nice. All ended up there. In site there is the promotions and we ordered the pizza coming with 4x topping. When you statrt creating the pizza you cant chose the toppings for free as advertised so i phoned and being advised just to put 4 thinks on special notes and is not a problem as something wrong with site . So we did. When delivery men came he said we need to pay extra for cheesy crust but we have only 3 toppings. We try to ask if thats a problem as we didnt realise on ordering that cheesy crest is not considered as topping and we being advised to put 4x things on special notes. Thats all fine as we didnt realise the mistake but delivery men said you need to pay for that and when we said ye no worryes but we should of choose 4th topping he said well next time. On my 2nd piece ive star eating it was that hair. Was between the cheese and the base. Now me and my girl lost all the apetite we had . Very sad as the pizza is really tasty and it seems products are alot. Also the chips is nice. I dont think we will be ordering again. We know that this is probably accident and person cooking the food is with a hat. At least we hope he/she is. Quality of the food very good. But people cooking e need to be careful.

Previous owners were rude. Thought I would give the new owners a try. Ordered 2 burger meals: must have been some sort of confusion as they probably thought I was a child due to my height (despite having a beard) - I paid full price for kids size portions (13 chips - yes, I counted them!). They even rationed the toppings in the burger! Reviews suggest you should order pizzas from here.

Very pleasant experience was Weber by the lovely Jak, and he made me feel very at home, the lady was very lovely as well and I would 100% recommend.

Halal meats so no proper bacon, pepperoni or ham. Other than the little sticker, staff did not mention thos to is even after my disabled partner kept mentioning how grey the meat looked.

Terrible customer service! Put a very thin amount of salad and sauce in my sandwich, and when I politely asked for a little more salad, the server said that I can not have any more. There is a sign advertising which states 'have as much salad as you like' But this was not practiced even when asked polietly and then challenged. The prices do not match what's advertised, as my friend was charged an extra 17 pence on top of his meal deal, clearly making up the prices as they go. Will not return to this branch and if I'm honest it's put me off going to another subway ever again.

Previously I have used Pizza Hut Woodley branch for a self collection and the pizza was quite good. Tonight me and my wife had some plans for the evening and we left our teenage children "home alone" with a plan to get them a pizza as an evening meal. I have ordered a pizza for delivery from the Pizza Hut website and after the long wait (and children calling back saying they never got their pizza), I have contacted the Woodley branch to check where our order is. The staff at the branch told me that they can't find my order in the system and they advised me to get in touch with the customer support. Once again, I have an order number, and confirmation email in my hand clearly showing that pizza was ordered and confirmed, but no pizza, no resolution for problem, instead a request to get in touch with some ephemeral customer support. After some searching for customer support details (the branch could not provide me with it), I had an online chat with customer support (that was the only option, as no phone number was available). Customer support told me that they can see my order, but now they need to talk to the branch to find out why the order was not fulfilled. After that they may (!) come back to me via email. If you stop and think about this for a second, I have ordered a simple pizza, paid in full and all I wanted is to get it at my door and to feed hungry kids. Instead, I am being footballed between the branch and a customer support, with no indication that anyone is actually planning to solve the issue and to get that pizza to us today. Mishaps happen, I get that. This could have happened to anyone, but within that time I was trying to get anywhere with this issue, they could have put the order right, made that pizza and still get it delivered, while I was going back and forth between customer support and the branch, but it looks like Pizza Hut couldn't care less about their customers. Needless to say that we had to cut our outdoor plans short and get back home to feed our kids. I am yet to hear back from customer support, and they will probably(eventually?) refund me for that pizza, but it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that I have learned that Pizza Hut does not care about their customers. The pizza is not only about the ingredients used to make it. It is also about how much care is taken to make it and to deliver it. If you see that care element is not there, how can you trust the quality of the food you are going to be delivered?

Really disappointed as we usually rate this as the best pizza place locally. No excuse as collected ourselves and waited for it to be cooked. Garlic bread had no taste of garlic and pizza cold and base hard. Will try other local pizza places in future. Definitely has deteriorated.

For a second time in a row this branch has yet again disappointed my self . Main problem with this branch is despite having mangers in store they have no control over dealing with customer complaints. Note to customers don't pay on line they will refuse to refund your food when it's wrong or doesn't show up. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUES AND NO DIFFERENT TO THEFT ! Our food arrived 40min late and cold pizza, side orders were just about ok but not great all all! Manager in his fairness attempted to handle to issue and to be fair sent out a pizza within20 min as promised. But needless to say after a argument on the phone we lost to urge to eat. Would i as a local customer use them again after repeat disappointment ....NO!

Just ordered after this lockdown and all. Thought it be nice to have some as I used to really enjoy their pizzas. Something was off about the one I got. Bad luck? Maybe. Normally I love their pizzas but this one time I felt like I wasted 25 quid on a pizza as I couldn't even finish it. Just didn't taste good as I remember 😕 . Smelt like it could do with it being on the oven bit longer (just my view here) and tatse didn't live up to the expectations (not even a bit )

The two pizzas I ordered yesterday's evening had no topping. I ordered a Vegetable Supreme and Veggie Sizzler, both with no cheese as we don't include dairy products in our diet. We normally get both pizzas covered with a reach topping but last evening the amount of vegetables on top was shocking - I had 3 tiny slices of mushrooms on mine and a few pieces of tomato and pineapple, couldn't see any onions, same on my partner's order. It was very disappointing. It looked like 2 different people were working on the pizzas - one person done an incredible job of preparing the dough - which was nicely done and well baked, and another person responsible for adding the topping had absolutely no clue how the pizza should look like - spreading a bit of tomato sauce and adding a leftovers which didn't fit on a previous pizza and calling it a topping. It looked like the kitchen run out of veg. We couldn't believe what we saw. We ended up chopping our own tomatoes and frying up the mushrooms we had in our fridge to actually have anything on top because it felt like we just bought 2 pizza doughs. We recently moved into the Woodley area from Uxbridge where we had the best possible pizzas from Pizza Hut and it is a huge disappointment that the Reading branch is saving their budget on their toppings. I hope you will consider my opinion as I truly love Pizza Hut and I don't wish to change to any other brand as I was always happy with it when living in London.

Order through app failed due to power cut, which is understandble. But was told 10 minutes when we ordered (and paid) a second time, then was asked a third time and eventually got the food after being stood at the counter for 45 minutes! Staff just ket saying theres a queue for the oven.

Lovely family run business and my daughter love their food. 5 🌟 all the way. Their crispy chilli beef (not spicy) and chicken balls are to die for. Their spring rolls good too

Been coming here for years despite living in Wargrave.. It's the best Chinese takeaway around Reading that we've found. Food is always spot on, always cooked fresh and the most reasonably priced Chinese out of all that we tried. I can't recommend this place enough.

I love this takeaway, best Chinese in Reading, lovely food, lovely staff, I order roughly ever 2 months and they know its me on the phone just by my order. Try the Ribs, Szechuan Beef is incredible too!

Zero stars!!! I ordered chicken doner. The meat had membranes, (silver skin) not separated at all, and the chicken skins themselves!!! Some pieces were burned. It was impossible to eat it. Never again, I will not order from them

Awful service and food. We ordered a doner kebab and chips, the delivery was 1 hour late without any excuse. The food was all cold and overcooked. The meat was burnt. When i called to complain about the food, the person said to leave the food outside so they could collect. He also said that he would call the manager to call us the next morning. He never did, and the food was never collected. Left the whole family without a dinner and -21 pounds from my budget.

Good value, tasty food from the grill, doner, spiced chicken and lamb shish kebab is excellent, served in pita with salad and a choice of sauces. Cold drinks in the fridge and Ben and Jerry's desserts. Also offer fish and chips, pies, sausages, 1/2 roast chicken. Vege burger and spring roll for vegetarians. Friendly service. Offers dining in and take away. Free parking outside. Family of 4 can eat for £22. So budget dining.

Ordered from here last night, waited over an hour, food turned up cold. Got to the end of my chicken wrap and found mould on it - will never order from here again! The picture of my food isn’t very clear annoyingly.

Awful. Don’t bother. Small portion size, under cooked lamb Doner meat(spent an hour in the loo) Pita burnt and dropped on top, not cut with meat and salad inserted. Waited 20 mins for take-away even though I was the only customer. Server changed the meat without washing hands, then took pita’s out of pack and throw them in the grill again without washing hands or wearing gloves. This must be the worst food I have ever attempted to eat, I throw 90% away as it tasted horrible and was cold. Please avoid if you want something to eat without feeling ill.

Ordered the big kebab deal yesterday. It was so good. The best kebab we ever had. Ordered extra cheese on it and they put a lot which I loved! Lots of meet cooked to perfection! Fries were good too. Worth the price. I work in Hospitality so I know how busy they must be especially because of the football match yesterday but the delivery time was short too. Definitely will order again. Ordered for the first time today. Donner kebab meat was anemic and looked like it had been boiled and not cooked traditionally. Could thrive as a business if the effort was made a presentation was there. Will not order again
