Murugan Idli Shop is a cozy restaurant located near Elliots beach, offering a variety of dosas, chutneys, and savory rice cakes. Their breakfast menu features soft and fluffy idlis served with delicious coconut chutney and sambar. The idlis come in different variants such as rave idli, masala idli, flattened rice idli, all made from easily digestible rice and urad dal.
Food was amazing and service was also good. We tried ghee podi idli, meduvada, dal vada, podi onion uthappam and ghee masala dosa. Everything was perfect. Chutneys were also good. Especially the mint chutney. The perfect flavor of mint and tamarind was coming very good. We tried their Jigarthanda and filter coffee in the last. Jigarthanda and coffee was very good. The person who was serving us, he was very perfect to his work. Thank you

I’ve visited this place twice for breakfast. Being situated near Besant Nagar beach, it’s very easy to reach and became my favorite spot to enjoy a morning meal. The food is truly delicious, with authentic Tamil Nadu flavours and taste. I have tried Idli, Vada, Dosa, Ghee Podi Dosa, Ghee Podi Idli served on banana leaf with different chutneys and hot sambar. It does get very crowded during peak hours, so service can sometimes be a bit slow. Overall, the experience makes it absolutely worth visiting. A must‑try restaurant if you’re in Besant Nagar and looking for a hearty South Indian breakfast.
Ravi T — Google review
We visited Murugan Idli after searching for the best veg restaurants near Besant Nagar Beach. This place is famous for its idlis, and we were excited to try them out. We ordered idlis, dosas, sweet pongal, and filter coffee. The idlis were soft and delicious, served with a perfect sambar. The dosas and sweet pongal were also yummy. The filter coffee was rich and flavorful. While the food was amazing, the ambience could be improved. If you're a South Indian food lover looking for delicious idlis and dosas, Murugan Idli is a great option. Just don't expect a fancy atmosphere.
Rizu K — Google review
- Good is good. Quantity is ok. - Servers carry the food items in large trays for the customers to see and pick the items, which I food to be a good and unique practice. - Ambience is just ok. - Sometimes the waiters place more items on the plate/banana-leaf without asking a prior. You'll end up eating and paying more, so we have to be careful and ask them to remove the extra items. - Other take home items that are sold at the billing counter are also good.
T.V. K — Google review
Murugan Idly Shop offers a truly authentic South Indian dining experience that stands out for its tradition and simplicity. The highlight is their practice of serving everything on fresh banana leaves - a touch that instantly adds aroma, flavor, and nostalgia to the meal. The idlis are soft and fluffy, paired perfectly with a generous variety of chutneys and sambar. The service is quick and the staff are courteous, maintaining the lively, no-fuss vibe that regulars love. Prices are reasonable for the quality and authenticity you get. The only slight drawback is that it can get quite crowded during peak hours, which may affect the wait time. Overall, Murugan Idly is a must-visit for anyone craving traditional South Indian flavors served the old-school way - simple, wholesome, and memorable.
Anshun G — Google review
Went and ate at Murugan Idli shop at Besant Nagar beach. Food was very good. Had many items like kaara paniyaram, ghee podi idli, sweet Pongal, rava dosa and paneer butter dosa. My all time favorites here are Ghee podi idli and sweet pongal. Bought mini podi idli and paneer jamun as well for takeway. Got the final drink Jigarthanda which was fabulous as well. Bit expensive , but a treat for vegetarian lovers, so worth it. They provide varieties of chutneys for the idli and dosas as well which are so yummy. Other than these, they have snacks as well and sweets. Balakrishnan was very friendly, polite and co-operative. He made my dinner very smooth as well.
Praveen S — Google review
Loved the food, except the part uttapam was a little too thick. Like an idli but with things on it. The staff was nice and gentle. The chutneys were amazing.

Excellent Idli’s especially when hot, sweet pongal very delicious and the ghee roast dosa, if you love podi then it adds to the flavour Very good service from Pushpavanam, thank you

Ratna Cafe, established in 1948 in Triplicane, Chennai, is a renowned South Indian eatery known for its classic offerings in a traditional setting. The cafe's generous servings of sambar with soft idlis and flavorful dosas have made it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. While the cafe has expanded to other parts of Chennai, its flagship location in Triplicane remains popular.
Very good restaurant. We visited this place in the night around 8:30pm. Was quite crowded. We ordered idly with sambar and sambar vada, basundhi, filter coffee. The sambar was as always top notch and with more quantity. We also had a set of poori. Poori was very soft and the potato side was always tasty. Sambar vada had 2 pieces in it , the size of vada was big in size. It was very filling for one person.Basundhi was so good, chill and nice to finish as a dessert. The staffs and service was good and quick, didn't need to wait for long time. We sat in the AC area in the ground floor. Non- AC is also available. Handwashing area is a bit dirt but otherwise fine with everything else. Must try place!
Nasreen B — Google review
Seems like a famous place but when I ate their idli, it was pretty average. I mean , there wasn't anything special in it. Just a normal Idli whuch you'd get anywhere. I would rate Sangeetha restaurant better compared to this, taste wise as well as accompaniment (3 types of chutneys)
Sankalp D — Google review
What a food…! Excellent taste and texture. Idly sambar combo was a must try item. This place is situated near marina beach so while going that way all you guys go there and try it out. I swear it’s been a nice experience.

"Visited this quaint restaurant and had an amazing experience! Their signature Sambar Idli is a must-try, tastes exactly like homemade Sambar. The flavors are spot on and the idlis are soft and fluffy.A comforting and delicious meal!"
Aurora S — Google review
Best place in Chennai to have proper authentic south Indian food by far! Loved the Sambar here... It was just perfect. I had Idli smbar, Vada sambar, Pongal, dosa for breakfast. Everything tasted perfect and very fresh. The filter coffee was just wow. Also went here again to have lunch. Again.. Loved the lunch here, the proper south Indian food tasted sooo delicious. And the prices are very much affordable. Much much recommended to have breakfast n lunch here if you want to taste heavenly sambar.
Suvas W — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at Ratna Cafe, Triplicane today. We ordered 8 plates of Masala Dosa, and the cashier confirmed the order. After paying the full amount (₹978 as per the bill attached), we were made to wait for around 10 minutes, only to be told "stock over." They forced us to change our order to Podi Onion Dosa, charged extra, and still made us wait more than 20 minutes. To make things worse, while we were sitting, the cleaning lady rudely asked us to move to another place - totally disrespectful! This kind of poor management, lack of coordination, and rude behavior is unacceptable for a restaurant with such a big name. They didn't even bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Totally not worth the hvne. Be careful before visiting.
Sathish K — Google review
Ratna cafe located in the midst of Triplicane market. It's a pure veg restaurant serving tiffins, lunch and dinner. The food quality and taste is very good. Went in for lunch around 2:30pm got the table easily , they have AC and Non AC sections in the same level. There is no price difference in the menu for AC, so one can comfortably seat and have their meal. I initially didn't know about it but the manager on duty suggested I can sit inside aswell. AC dining hall was centrally cooled and was pleasant, service boys were also good and took the order properly and served perfectly. Food taste was also good, one can blindly go here for any meals. Prices are a little premium and fine as we sit inside a AC dining hall and hygeine and cleanliness is good. Highly recommended if you are in triplicane and looking for veg food.

North Indian restaurant
RotiWala is a popular spot for those craving authentic North Indian cuisine at affordable prices. The menu features delicious parathas, phulkas, and other North Indian dishes that are prepared in front of you. While the prices are budget-friendly, the taste and quality of the food remain satisfying. In addition to their savory offerings, RotiWala also serves refreshing lassis and tasty chat items.
Best place to have something unique to quench your carvings for delicacies that you can never try else where in chennai with budget friendly pricing and varieties of dishes, must try if you hang out with friends 🔥
Hariprasad K — Google review
Very bad experience here. The roti was fresh but it doesn't taste good. I ordered mix veg curry but it tasted bad, that is really really bad, full of colour, and didn't feel safe to eat. On top of that, the food preparation was not handled hygienically. Honestly, it felt like they dont care about the food or the customers. Definitely not worth the money. Even the road side shop make much better food.
Karthik — Google review
This shop is best for phulkas , stuffed parathas and there budget friendly combo, Don't expect rich taste of gravy, because price is very low here, so it will be typical of moderate taste and quality.
Jothikumar — Google review
They said they have gpay but as soon as you eat they will demand for cash. They scam you and start shouting till you give them money. Women's not recommended. Don't go solo. They will also not let you out to get cash from somewhere. I had to wait. Finally someone from outside helped.
Moulivikram G — Google review
Good taste late night 11.00pm good panner taste
Purushothaman S — Google review
Not as good as expected. Pav bhaji taste could have been better. A very much disappointment with paneer butter masala. Aloo paratha was good in taste. Rate is quite high with the taste of the dishes.
Raksha D — Google review
It's a roadside dhaba. Tables are not available, only chairs are provided with stool. Economical especially for bachelors who can get homely food. For Rs 45 you get 5 phulkas and a cup of dhaal and a subzi. Other delicacies likes jalebi, dahi puri, alu paratha, panner paratha, laasi are to be tried out. It's open till 11 PM. You can also order through delivery apps like swiggy, zomato, uber.

Mylai Karpagambal Mess is a laid-back restaurant located near the iconic Mylapore Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Chennai. Established over 70 years ago, it has been serving an extensive variety of traditional South Indian dishes. Originally starting with only a few options, the eatery now offers a wide range of tiffin items throughout the day. The founder, R Soundarajan, used to personally select groceries to customize each plate for about 50 customers initially.
Mylai Karpagambal Mess is one of those rare places where tradition and taste come together perfectly. The food is pure, authentic, and consistently delicious. Their ghee dosa is a must-try — crisp, flavorful, and wonderfully aromatic. The pongal, idlis, and filter coffee all carry that unmistakable homemade touch that keeps people coming back. The mess has a simple, old-school charm, the service is quick, and everything feels rooted in genuine South Indian culinary tradition. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality speaks for itself. A legendary spot in Mylapore — if you love classic vegetarian tiffin, this is an absolute must-visit!
Priya R — Google review
We went to Karpagaambal mess first time today and saying we were disappointed is an understatement. We tried the Idiyappam, podi dosai and keerai vadai. The idiyappam was dry, kurma was very average. The dosai was made with pulicha maavu and podi was bitter. The keerai vadai was a big blob of undercooked mess. The sambar tasted like hot water with salt and coconut chutney was like room temperature water with less salt. No tomato or coriander chutney. Can’t believe they even messed up the filter coffee, it was watery and too sugary. The whole place is run down (maybe they are preserving the authenticity??!!) and even the waiters look like they don’t care.
Durga R — Google review
Costly and crowded. Has now lost its charm. You can still try for nostalgia. Located near the temple this is the default food joint for temple goers. Melodious Thevaram is soothing. Another reason why you can visit this mess. Enjoy. Fully vegetarian as you know. So you can safely eat here.

Please avoid going to this highly over hyped place. There is no minus rating in google. The food is not even to average taste... Sambar chutney is so cold... Servers keep their long faces and show high attitude to customers. Check the bill amoumt... A2B, Geetham, Nithya Amirtham are best alternaruves and more cheaper... Pls dont go this place....

This is the 1st time i went to this hotel and disappointed. Took my kid for dinner and bought chappathi for him, it was hard on the edges he couldn't chew it and flour was all over the chappathi, kurma was bland. Not worth for the price. I don't know about others items in the menu. Definitely food inspection must be done in this hotel.

Went at around 7 : 30 pm to this restaurant and at that time there were only two customers inside this restaurant. Ordered their famous adai avial and it was good . Coconut chutney was excellent. They don't serve tea in this restaurant. Service was fast and rates of good are slightly expensive. For travel, food and history plz follow my insta account. Insta id @shenoypradeep

Worst hotel I have seen in my life. Just aiming for money. Poor service . 2 poori Rs 150, 1 vadai is Rs 75 worthless. When small shops nearby the temple can give such good taste at an affordable price, a big shop well known like this is cheating people. If you don't want any taste in your food and ready to pay high price for it you can visit this worthless spot. Keeping God name for hotel but cheating people

"Prems Graama Bhojanam" is a Chennai restaurant that offers a unique dining experience with its focus on traditional rural Indian cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh farm ingredients to create dishes inspired by indigenous recipes. The ambiance has taken a slightly upscale turn, but the flavors remain authentic and true to their roots. The menu features a variety of dishes made from millets, showcasing the resurgence of this ingredient in Tamil Nadu.
Very great food. Tried jackfruit biriyani (very tasty) and maha bhojanam. Was too much variety for our appetite. But the food was amazing.. the nellu pori vadagam was extremely good. They have different variety in their menu. I would say must come here often..

On the new year day, we were a gang of 9 people..... we came in very late ... around 2.30 p.m. they were about to close since most of the items were over.... never the less since we requested they asked us to wait and then cleared a few tables for us. Whatever was available was served in the thali... to my knowledge the meals wasn't that great.... I am not a meals person.... my husband and friends liked it. I can understand their predicament when on such holidays to handle the crowd is a big thing.
Pavithra S — Google review
We were a group of 8. Tried both Thooya Malli Rice and Red Rice Meals. Portion served was enough to meet the hunger levels. Comprised of Rice, Sambhar, Rasam, Butter Milk , a kootu and a Poriyal with Appalam and Pickle. The quality of food served was such that there was no flatulence or discomfort post the meal. Vada and Paneer as starters are a must try. Tasty food, Value for money, customer friendly service. Do try out when in Adyar.

If you're looking for millet based or traditional rice varieties of food then this is the right choice. Had lunch was top notch. Superb service, the dosai was excellent. If you are looking for a fancy one then this is not the right place only great food with excellent taste . Don't miss the Coconut based neera.

Harsh B — Google review
The family sitting opposite us at the table were taking their time to place the order. The children wanted a biryani. The adults were not so sure. Prem's Graama Bhojanam is at one of the cross roads and not immediately visible unless you drive right in front of it. But over the last 10 years, they've built a strong following. It's one thing to say millets are healthy. It's another to make it palatable and acceptable to people. The owner Krishnamurthi is a passionate man. He still talks to all his customers. And I guess he's lost track of the number of times he's told the story - about how he went back to his childhood memories and the food he ate then. At that time, millets were what poor people could afford. All that has changed now. It's become fashionable. And the most beneficial But this restaurant is anything but snooty. Tables are shared, conversation goes in all directions and the person who served us was gentle and attentive. We went for the seeraga samba meal. Simple fare but well made with the standard accompaniments, except for pickles. The buttermilk was cool and soothing. We had not visited the place for years. And it has moved from the first floor location to the ground floor. This harks back to a time when restaurants weren't bothered about decor. Or plating. Or atmosphere. But the food still sings And Mr. Krishnamurthi has more grey in his hair. But his sunny disposition and ability to strike up a conversation and remember people is still intact.
Venu N — Google review
This hotel has moved to a new place. Many years ago it was operating in an old building. Has now a wide space and better atmosphere. Same food tatse that was served earlier. Cost will be little on the higher side only. Millet based tiffin and meals. Normal meals too available. Can try once in a while when in adayar side.
Wandering O — Google review
Food was not great. The Chappati and subji were really oily. The keerai vada was very nice. Paneer in some kind of more kozhambu with garlic in it was "different". I think the mini meals which friends ate wee better. The whole restaurant has a dusty old and could-be-cleaned up look.

Seafood restaurant
NAIR MESS is a budget-friendly restaurant in Triplicane, Chennai that offers traditional South Indian meals served on banana leaves. It is renowned for its authentic Kerala delicacies and is a favorite among seafood enthusiasts. The menu features delectable dishes such as fish fry, prawn fry, and the famous vanjaram seer fish fry, which has been a highlight for many years. The bustling atmosphere and efficient staff add to the charm of this establishment.
Visited Nair Mess recently, initially expecting Kerala-style cuisine because of the name. However, it turned out to be more of a regular South Indian style, which was still quite good. The prices were very reasonable, and I actually got to know about this place through a colleague and also noticed it has good online reviews. The sides were priced at almost half compared to many places, with decent quantity as well. We tried the coconut egg omelet, and it was absolutely delicious — a must-try item! The meals were also simple, wholesome, and definitely worth the money. Overall, a good spot for a satisfying and affordable meal. Will definitely consider visiting again!

A Hidden Gem with Homely Flavors This place runs on a minimal menu—so minimal, in fact, that there’s no menu handed out at all. I went with the veg thali, adding mutton curry and king fish fry on the side, and I must say, it didn’t disappoint. The food was flavorful, the portions generous, and the service incredibly warm. The staff made sure my plate was never empty, constantly topping up every item without even asking. The place is clean, hygienic, and has a welcoming vibe throughout. While the food isn’t rooted in any distinct Chennai-specific cuisine, it’s definitely a satisfying experience overall. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a hearty, no-frills meal served with genuine hospitality.

The food at this hotel was really good in terms of taste and quality – definitely well-prepared and enjoyable. However, the portion sizes felt a bit small compared to the price, so it didn’t feel like the best value for money. Another challenge was parking – it was quite difficult to find a spot, which made the arrival experience less convenient. Overall, a pleasant stay mainly because of the food, but parking and value for money could be improved.

I had veg meals along with mutton kurma, mutton fry, mutton brain fry, vanjaram fish fry, prawn thokku, mutton thalakari, sura puttu, fish curry and an omlette. The meals along with mutton curry was amazing. The piece in mutton curry could have had more meat. The brain fry, vanjaram fish fry and prawn thokku were really good. The mutton fry had long ginger pieces which was wierd. The sura puttu was also good. The omlette tasted good along with rice. It had a good coconut flavor as it was cooked in coconut oil. The thalakari was decent. The fish curry was very bad though. I felt it didn't have enough flavor and it was somewhere in the middle between Kerala style fish curry and South Tamilnadu fish curry. The vanjaram fish fry was ₹310 which felt expensive. Overall around ₹1000 per person is a pretty expensive, but food and taste wise it's good certainly!
Akash P — Google review
Very hygienic and neatly maintained space. Food here is not spicy. We ordered mutton meals, fish fry, prawns thokku, mutton sukka and omelet. Mutton curry was mildly spiced. Meat was tender and delicious. Curry is cooked coconut based masala and tempered with coconutoil. Vanjaram fish fry was fried in coconutoil well balanced and perfectly spiced fish. Very crispy exterior, soft and flaky fish. Prawn sukka stir fried in coconutoil and onion masala. Sweet after taste from prawns and onion was delicious. Mutton stir-fried in coconutoil with a blend of red chillies masala paste was a typical kerala style dish Egg omelet must try fresh and very hot. Bottle water, Rice, rasam, sambar, vegetable stir-fry and kootu is unlimited. Rice and veggies quality was superb, can't get better than this. I must mention the staff here they are very quick and service is top class. Must visit place if your in chennai or traveling to Chennai located opposite to chepaku stadium.

Nair mess is definitely a must experience restuarant. The food was very delicious. The vanjaram fish fry was the thinnest and juiciest one that I have ever tried. Mutton fry and prawn masala were worth the try. The mutton gravy was unique in taste with good and soft mutton pieces in them. The only downside is the ever crowded atmosphere, a bit expensive menu and a lack of proper parking.
Shankameswaran B — Google review
Probably the first time I stepped out of a restaurant without a bloated tummy or acidity. The rice served was absolutely comforting. The meal had a mutton gravy which had a solid piece of mutton. As add on, I had omelette and prawns masala. One may feel the portion is little - but at ₹100+, it’s fine. Fish curry was yummy. Overall a good meal, far better than the ones around.

Side dishes vera level! Fish fry, prawns thookku, mutton sukka all were delicious. Meals and Mutton Biryani are there only for lunch. Meals was not tasty. Tried mutton kurma with meals and adjusted. One should visit for the side dishes. Nair Mess, the Kerala restaurant.

Coffee shop
Krishna Restaurant is a long-standing eatery located near the Madras Music Academy in Chennai. This modest restaurant is known for its South Indian thalis, dosas, and other traditional dishes. It's particularly popular during concerts and performances but attracts diners year-round. The restaurant follows the Udipi style and has been serving vegetarian tiffin for many years, making it a renowned dining spot in the heart of the city.
We visited Krishna restaurant yesterday Ample dining space with enough chairs and tables. There's a huge A/c room for private dining. Service is good. Rest rooms are clean. Food is tasty and fresh and served hot. There's car parking outside which makes it easier for the guests.

Krishna restaurant - located inside the New Woodlands hotel, takes you back in memory lane, quick service and fast moving place Suggest to avoid North Indian food and go for South Indian dishes which are very good North Indian taste for North Indian is ok ok and to avoid if you compare it from Delhi or other places from the north except for channa Batura which was nice Some dishes are spicy so be careful when ordering South Indian food and the coffee are excellent and a good choice

Visited for breakfast on a weekday. We ordered for idli vada puri and coffee The service was bit delayed despite not much of customers in the restaurant The idli and Vada was ok. The taste of Vada was not that great but ok The puri was oily and the lack salt and the masala was tasteless Even after informing the staff the manager they were so casual and not responding to our complaint Ideally this was one of the oldest restaurants which is premium priced in a premium location however I could see a casual attitude setting in their staff which might affect their image and impact the visitor footfalls The only positive point is ample car parking

Review: Krishna Restaurant – A Decent Meal Inside a Historic Hotel Krishna Restaurant, located inside the New Woodlands Hotel, holds a place in Chennai’s history, but when it comes to the food, it’s good but not extraordinary. What’s Good: ✅ Historic Landmark – The restaurant is part of a well-known hotel. ✅ Decent Food – The meals are satisfying but not standout. What Could Be Better: ❌ Not a Must-Visit – While the food is good, it’s not something you’d go out of your way for. Final Verdict: A convenient option if you’re staying nearby, but if you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, there are better choices in Chennai.

"I visited Krishna Restaurant, located inside the New Woodlands Hotel premises, expecting a delightful South Indian vegetarian experience. While it was a decent meal, there were some hits and misses. *Ambiance:* 3.5/5 The restaurant's interior is simple and clean, with a pleasant atmosphere. However, the seating arrangement felt a bit cramped. *Service:* 3/5 The staff were friendly and attentive, but the service was slow, especially during peak hours. *Food:* 3/5 *Breakfast:* - Idli: Soft and fluffy, but lacked the signature South Indian flavor. - Dosai: Crispy, but the filling was underwhelming. *Lunch:* - Thali: Variety of dishes, but some were lukewarm. Sambar and rasam were excellent. - Vegetable Biryani: Flavorful, but slightly overpriced. *Dinner:* - Pongal: Creamy and delicious. - Vegetable Korma: Rich and flavorful. *Highlights:* - Excellent filter coffee - Reasonable prices *Lowlights:* - Inconsistent flavor profiles - Limited dessert options *Recommendations:* 1. Try their Pongal and filter coffee. 2. Opt for the Thali for a variety of dishes. *Rating Breakdown:* - Ambiance: 3.5/5 - Service: 3/5 - Food Quality: 3/5 - Value for Money: 4/5 Will I return? Maybe. While Krishna Restaurant offers a decent South Indian vegetarian experience, it lacks the authenticity and consistency I crave. *Tips:* 1. Arrive early for breakfast to avoid crowds. 2. Ask for customized spice levels. Helpful? Like and share!"

We were looking for a good veg restaurant for dinner and ended up here. We need to give names and wait for tables. It took over 20 mins for us to get a table on weekends. The menu has decent varieties of predominantly south indian food out of which we ordered Masala Dosai, Onion rava, kothu paratha, Ghee dosai, Mushroom 🍄 fried rice and Rasam Idly. Food was served within a reasonable time despite the crowd. The taste of Kothu paratha was average and Idly in rasam idly is not great. The rest of the items are good. The service is decent considering the crowd. Pricing is ok. Overall Satisfying experience 😊

I have been eating here for ages. A bit pricey but you get good food. Their range of South Indian food is just gold standard perfect. It keeps you wanting more. Great for breakfast. Service is fast and attentive. The place is clean and does see a fairly large volume of customers. If you like South Indian breakfast this is your place.

Royal Sandwich offers a wide variety of over 70 sandwiches, including options with Lay's chips, chicken, mayo, and Nutella. The prices are budget-friendly, ranging from INR 40 to INR 80. With more than 200 choices available, customers can enjoy everything from spicy to dessert sandwiches. The menu includes options like the Chicken Tandoori Mayo Sandwich and Chilli Cheese Toast Sandwich.
We went in for a snack. They had really good assortment of sandwiches and drinks. Ordered chocolate banana grilled sandwich, chicken mayo sandwich, veg. Momos and nanari sherbet. All of them were good. But given the Chennai heat, the sherbet was a great treat and was the best of the lot.

Today I had lunch at Royal Sandwich with my colleagues, and I must say it was an amazing experience. I have been eating at this place for the last 13+ years now, and the craze for their sandwiches only grows day by day. Their menu options are the best, and the ice cream sandwich is on a different level. It tastes absolutely yummyyyy! The sandwiches are always fresh, and the bread varieties used are of the highest quality. The ambiance is great, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I have never had a bad experience at this place. The prices are also very reasonable, considering the quality of food and service. I highly recommend Royal Sandwich to anyone looking for a great place to have sandwiches. I will definitely be coming back soon!

We went here for a quick bite, the food was good and tasty. It was prepared fresh and the ingredients were of good quality. We ordered A chicken burger, a few portion of nuggets and some smilies. All the items were fresh. Parking might be an issue and we had to park on the road. Otherwise highly recommended place.

The Sandwich here are really affordable but I feel the taste is average as compared to the brand goodwill and hypes. I ordered 10 sandwiches at the shop the waiting time was more compared to other shops, the taste of sandwich was okay too. The ambience of the shop was really great and the designs of shop was small and cute. Overall it was a good experience and a nice place for quick meetups with friends.

One of the few sandwich shops which always makes me crave for more. Pizza sandwich - Gravy filled sandwich with pizza sauce and bean filling; spicy toast Focaccia paneer cheese - Closed focaccia with bite sized paneer; well dressed with moderate seasoning, ain't greasy Brownie ice-cream sandwich - OH WOW, Dessert sandwiches are always the best; that brownie with a scoop of ice cream, the chunky crispy cold sweet combo, HEAVEN!!! Veg momos - Soft with mild stuffing with great dips Kitkat shake - So thick & slurpy with original Kitkat flavours all over it; goes best with any spicy sandwich Masala lemonade - Personal favorite; that Thums-up with ice and chat masala topped with, BLISS!! Always has a unique flavour Though a small outlet, this place has always lived up to its expectations of being one of the best places in Chennai. While their food satisfies the tummy craving, their lucrative prices satisfies one's wallet. Roadside parking might be tricky; service was quick enough with ads decor all over their walls & limited seating space. *Personal rating would be a 4.5

We ordered 5 sandwiches in total from Royal Sandwiches. Amazing sandwiches and lots of variety at a really good price. We had ordered Mushroom Cheese, Nutella Cheese, Pizza Cheese, Spinach Corn and Cheese and Paneer Mayo Sandwiches. We were absolutely spoils for choice. The delivery was completely safe and the packaging was good. The delivery person had sanitised his hands before delivering the food. The star of the show was definitely the Nutella Cheese Sandwich. If you want a quick bite to eat on a budget, this is your place.

Nestled behind the Kabaleeshwar Temple, Kalathi Rose Milk Shop is a beloved gem in Chennai that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for nearly a century. Originally established in 1927 by Kalathy Mudaliar as a humble newspaper stall, this quaint shop has evolved into a must-visit destination for its iconic rose milk. Known for its preservative-free recipe, the refreshing drink boasts a delightful blend of fresh milk and rose essence, reminiscent of Malaysia's famous bandung.

Today, i went to buy Golu dolls in North mada street, mylapore.....for navaratri and I thought of visiting this stall to quench my thirst....and I noticed they do not take upi payments....they accept only cash...there was one customer who was fighting in the shop that he will complain to consumer court for not accepting upi....and shopkeeper responded rudely that it's his wish to keep upi or not....it made me thinking......1 rose milk cost 20 rupees and they sell a lot many rose milks a day due to heavy influencers like youtubers and instagrammers....so if they do not accept gpay or any upi and accept only cash.....they do not even provide any bill or receipt......so where does all this cash go??????? No sitting place or chairs in shop.. customers are treated in the worst possible way and forced to stay on road...... Are we customers fools ?????rosemilk in most of the shops in Chennai taste same.. or even better....so please avoid this Kalathi shop...

Try once to love it. Rare to find such centaury old small shops selling one product based on taste and of course the other factors do play like hygiene ,fresh plastic bottles , filling in front of customer... On the flip side they need to adopt the UPI ,cash only mode is not with the times.

Bakery
G. Gopaul Dairy, a charming little bakery established in the 1950s, has been a favorite among British and Anglo-Indian residents of Chennai for over 70 years. The shop gained popularity for its signature bun-butter-jam, which continues to be a must-try delicacy. Despite its unassuming appearance, the taste of their bun butter jam speaks volumes and is well worth the visit.
Best bun butter jam my son has ever had. You can travel from anywhere in the world for this. Thanks for letting us have the best food - Mr. Pramodh. The butter and bun quality makes the food better than the best. We will come again and again.
BM — Google review
After so much hype on social media tried this. Their butter is different and good. Jam is too sweet, may be sweet lovers may like this. Their butter milk is also good. You can try once for their legacy, if u have tasted in Selva milk Depot, Coffee Sahastra, Mamalan balery, more likely you may not like gopal bun. One appreciable thing is they are not using egg in bun unlike others. From having bun, I felt like it's eggless.
P K — Google review
Visited around 10:30 AM to try the Bun Butter Jam. Though the shop had just opened, there was already a long queue. The Bun Butter Jam (Rs.40) was fresh and unique with homemade butter and the buttermilk (Rs.15) was decent. The place is very crowded and narrow with no dine-in space.  Overall, it’s a great spot to try Bun Butter Jam, but be prepared for the heavy crowd and limited space.
R — Google review
Been wanting to visit this place for years, but somehow never got the chance. Finally, I had some work nearby and decided to make it happen. Gopaul Diary is a legendary little eatery tucked inside a building, serving their iconic Bun Butter Jam since 1945. They have a simple menu with just two items — Bun Butter Jam and Buttermilk. Unfortunately, the buttermilk wasn’t available on the day I visited, so I went straight for their famous Bun Butter Jam. Once you place your order, it’s prepared right in front of you. The bun was soft, the butter perfectly balanced, and the jam had a subtle, not-too-sweet flavour that made every bite comforting. I loved it so much that I packed four more to take home. If you’re ever in George Town, this place is an absolute must-visit!
Abhishek T — Google review
This place is as old as I can remember. My mom used to visit this place during her schooling days and she introduced this place to me. They sell Bun butter jam and buttermilk. Their bun butter jam is quite good ( recommended to get double butter jam) and the butter milk is quite refreshing. Have been visiting this place since childhood and taste is still the same. The downside is a slightly inferior location is small and often crowded !!!
Mayank P — Google review
Very Quick service. I used to travel from T.Nagar to broadway for Gopaul dairy's Bun butter jam. The bun butter jam is very good and pure vegetarian bun. Recently they have increased the price by ₹5/- and now the bun butter jam costs ₹40/- which I personally feel bit expensive. I would rather prefer to buy the same from the nearby bangalore based restaurants.
Sivashankar R — Google review
This shop is absolutely not clean. They handle the buns, butter, and jam with dirty hands and don't even wear gloves. Even without gloves, they could at least wash their hands before touching the buns, butter, and jam. After touching unsanitary surfaces, they handle the buns directly with their hands. They open the shop without cleaning at all and put the buns in a dusty box. The box for the buns and the knife are never washed. It's a small place with no airflow. The workers are sweating, and the sweat drips onto the buns. They wipe the sweat with their hands and then handle the buns, butter, and jam with the same hands. My humble suggestion to Gopal Diary: Please ask your staff to wear gloves and wash their hands. Also, please clean the food boxes and knives. I suggest you ask your staff to clean the shop every morning when they open. If you do these things, your shop will develop even more.
Gokul R — Google review
I've tried their famous bun butter jam and it was awesome. It was just few minutes past afternoon and all their buns are sold out. It's been in my list for a long time and finally got a chance to try their last bun of the day. There's nothing fancy but the taste of Bun butter jam speaks for itself. A layer of 'Uthukuli butter' between two layers of jam stays in your tongue for at least some minutes. Priced at 25/- it's advised to call and reserve urs.. Tried their buttermilk as well priced at 12/- was a decent one.. Will definitely visit again.

Avartana is an upscale restaurant located within a luxury hotel, offering an exclusive blend of traditional and progressive renditions of Southern Indian cuisine. The menu showcases the captivating flavors, aromas, and tastes of southern Indian spices, rooted in the region's abundance of pepper and spices. The restaurant offers specially crafted tasting menus for discerning diners to savor a variety of expertly prepared delights.
A must try place for the exquisite and curated meals!! Please keep in mind to go when you have ample time as the experiences range from 1.5 to 3.5 hrs. Do prebook as the restaurant tends to be busy. My regards to the staff for the warm hospitality!

Awesome experience.. Fantastic service .. Great Presentation .. Although we made our reservation at 7:45pm, the receptionist was sweet to allow us inside at 7:15pm saying we are booked the entire slot from 7pm to 11pm. We chose Bela (9 course meal) and I have attached the menu and the pics of each dish. Needs improvement : There was considerable waiting time (~15mins) just to pay the bill, as they were carrying single card machine for the full bunch !
Madan K — Google review
Had a memorable dining experience at Avartana in the ITC Grand Chola. The lunch menu was thoughtfully curated, with each course meticulously presented. Liked the serene atmosphere and elegant plating. However, the wait staff could benefit from more training in articulating the menu slowly, some of the dishes like the sago curd rice with papad were salty. The 13-course meal felt a bit excessive, taking nearly 3 hours to complete, yet overall, enjoyed the experience.
Nigar — Google review
Yesterday we visited Avartana. This was my second visit (my first was two years ago, which I really enjoyed). Once again, I have no complaints about the food or the ambience both were excellent and definitely worth the money. What disappointed me, however, was the service. When we visit a restaurant located in a prestigious place like ITC, we naturally expect professional and attentive service. Sadly, the table service etiquette seems to be missing nowadays staff looked tired, and that reflected in how they interacted with guests. I completely understand that working in restaurants can be repetitive and exhausting, but as diners we come for the overall experience, not just the food. Service is what completes the fine dining journey, and I felt that part was lacking this time.
Keerthi C — Google review
Avartana has been open for quite a long time now, and has won numerous awards in its lifetime. So I was rather disappointed to see the sharp drop in quality both in the food and the hospitality. I’ve dined in many fine dining restaurants and had many set menus. And Avartana was quite mediocre in comparison. First off, the overall presentation was rather sloppy. Our cutlery had not been polished well, and one of our glasses still had pieces of coriander stuck on the outside, which is a serious red flag in terms of cleanness. Their staples like their rasam and their fennel panna cotta were plated to perfection as usual, but other courses such as the seafood fritter rice, the cucumber and apple sorbet, and the stir fried chicken seemed sloppily plated, with food not aligned properly or seemingly thrown into the plate with no direction. We got the non vegetarian Bela which our waiter informed us would take 2 hours to complete. In reality, it took about 2.5 hours, the vast majority of which was simply waiting for our food to arrive. The service moved at a snail’s pace, with intervals of 20 minutes or more between courses. Either they did this on purpose to pad out the meal time, or the kitchen was seriously backed up. Both scenarios are a red flag to me. Though the wait time was the least of my concerns with regard to service. The wait staff at the restaurant was some of the most unfriendly and blunt I’ve experienced at a fine dining restaurant. They never asked us how we were liking the food, checked in on whether the pace of the courses was satisfactory, or spent more than a few seconds to explain the food and answer any questions we might have had. They didn’t even offer to refill our wine glasses, despite us paying by the glass and thus incentivising them to make us drink more. These are all bare minimum at a restaurant of this calibre and price point, yet were sorely missing here. You expect a meal at Avartana to be memorable. To be something you think about for years to come because of how unique the food is. But I’m sad to say that the only reason I’ll be thinking about avartana is to remind myself not to visit again due to how much of a disappointment it was. The only saving grace was the drumstick lamb with neer dosa and the fennel panna cotta. Those two were truly excellent, and are dishes worth remembering. Would I pay the full price just to eat those two dishes again? Definitely not.
Ankit S — Google review
Avartana at ITC Grand Chola truly lives up to its reputation. The restaurant has won numerous awards, and I can see why. Some of the dishes absolutely blew my mind — especially their rasam, which was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. Of course, like any tasting menu, not every dish was a hit for me; a few felt pretty average. We visited on a busy night, but the staff handled it well and ensured we had a smooth dining experience. Overall, it’s a good place to visit, especially if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion. Worth trying if you’re in Chennai and want a memorable meal.

Visited Vasco’s at Hilton for a lunch buffet with family and had an enjoyable time. The ambience was lovely, and the spread was extensive with a wide variety of veg and non-veg options. While the food overall tasted average, the desserts were excellent. We also ordered pasta from the live counter, but it arrived only after we had finished eating. The service was decent, though at this price point I expected a bit more attentiveness. The buffet is ₹2100 per person. Overall, a nice place for a family meal if you value ambience and variety, but the food and service could be better.
Pradeepa A — Google review
It is an extremely costly place with very less vegetarian options, the only positive point is its ambience which is expected as it is located in the 5 star hotel. The buffet is self service, with items from live counters being delivered extremely slow. They have one or two good tasting desserts (majority of them being extremely sweet) apart from them, all the dishes are extremely average. Since, the restaurant is located within 5 star hotel, there was a lot of expectations from the restaurant which it failed to deliver.

Vasco's - Hilton really has shown that they value feedback and they value the people who come and dine here. My earlier experience wasn't so pleasant, to say the least. Service wasn't great , made worse by a rambunctious bunch who came to dine and treated the place like their backyard. I voiced out and they heard it and most importantly worked in it.This time around Food was top notch, every vessel/ bowl was getting refilled, the staff were running around making sure everyone was taken care of and attended to. The head chef Sreerag, Chefs like Ramesh and Nanda and staff like Medha are such warm souls, they took up both the criticism and appreciation with the same smile. Hilton needs to really take care of such good folks, they will make sure people keep coming back to this place for some good food and a good time

Excellent spread and food. Pizza was tasting good at a buffet. Desserts are kind of tilted towards pastries. May be this changes on daily basis.

**Restaurant Review: Vasco's at Hilton** I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vasco's in the Hilton, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We began our meal with some delightful starters: the Karuvepillai Prawn Fry, Vegetable Croquette, and Paneer Tikka. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, showcasing a perfect blend of spices and textures that truly set the tone for the evening. For the main course, we indulged in Ghee Rice paired with Kozhi Varutha Curry. Bisbelabath, Vegetable Curry, and an assortment of Indian Breads. The mains did not disappoint; the Ghee Rice was aromatic and fluffy, while the Kozhi Varutha Curry was rich and comforting. The Bisbelabath was hearty and satisfying. The Vegetable Curry complemented the breads perfectly. The Indian Breads were warm and fresh. Overall, Vasco's offers a wonderful dining experience with an impressive array of dishes that are both delicious and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine in a sophisticated setting. I look forward to returning for another fantastic meal.

Anise is a contemporary 24-hour restaurant located at Taj Coromandel, offering a diverse range of international dishes in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The restaurant's name is inspired by the popular Indian spice, star anise, and it boasts a minimalistic decor that exudes homely comfort. The menu features an eclectic mix of flavors from Indian, Oriental, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisines as well as the freshest coastal seafood.
Taj never disappoints customers. The staffs were pleasing and welcoming as expected. We visited to the Anise to taste its speciality. Dining was only available for Sunday brunch, but F&B manger extended an enormous help to us while ensuring we have their a la carte menu in comfort accompanied by an exceptional service with endless smiles on the face. Everything was up to the mark and once again they proved their customer-centric philosophy by elevating the brand reputation.
Sunny H — Google review
Anise was a little let down from what Taj usually offers in terms of hospitality and food. Have always been impressed with the impeccable hospitality and astute service in many Taj restaurants across India. Anise compared to them was not clearly Upto the mark. Sad to say looks like the high standards set for service and quality is getting eroded. The lunch buffet has great many options and has variety selection for both the continental and Indian palette. The service was slow and dis organized. Had to repeat the order twice and wait for 10-15 mins before they got the food. They have live counters and you need to ask the waitstaff for details as some waitstaff explain it when you sit down and some don’t Over all this seems to be something that they need to improve. On the food side the mutton gravy was good but the mutton it self was a little hard. The chicken briyani was also a little let down. The desserts hit the sweet spot. You need to reserve the table in advance on weekends as they get busy.

We visited to try their signature gilli biryani which was average to be honest but their service made up for it. We went on diwali night. We were served with complimentary sweet with diwali wishes from the manager i think. Had a nice fine dining experience overall. Will visit again.

Will I visit again - for sure yes Taj is a Taj starting from service to food all is top notch and one can keep coming back for more like I did for the mutton gili biryani which is a specialty for this coffee shop only and not available in any other taj Slightly high on spice levels but I still enjoy its flavours using some extra raita but it’s a must have !!! They also have a veg gili biryani which is also liked by my vegetarian friends and family who come here with me. I rank this as the best Biryani I have ever had in any part of the world and followed up with their cold coffee which also is amazing as it almost gives the flavour of filter coffee in it. Sujan the head chef has been holding the fort forever and it’s always nice to meet him and enjoy the added hospitality from him, thank you !

I had a wonderful dining experience at Taj Coromandel – Anise. I tried the Gilli Biryani, Galouti Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Pasta, and Parathas — each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The Gilli Biryani stood out for its aroma and taste, while the Galouti Kebab was perfectly soft and rich in flavor. A special mention to Vinoth and Dhanasekar for their warm and attentive service. They ensured everything was served on time and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a memorable evening with great food and excellent hospitality. Definitely a place I’d recommend and look forward to visiting again.

We went for our anniversary dinner at Anise Taj coromandel. The buffet was good my personal favorite dessert corner. The staff were courteous. Our anniversary cake was really amazing and the texture was so good.

Anise is part of Hotel Taj Coromandel. We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Though we did not have the reservation but the staff gave us a table within 2 minutes. We preferred to go for buffet. The spread was quite big but somehow the veg food was just ordinary nothing great. The desert option was much better than main course, specially sandesh and sugar free chocolate cake. The service was absolutely top class. When we complained about very hard tandoor paneer, immediately they replaced it with a plate of fresh and very soft paneer. Thanks everyone for excellent service.

Unlike typical all-day diners, Spectra stands out with its seven specialty counters, particularly excelling in Thai and Japanese cuisine. The restaurant's dessert selection is also noteworthy. Known for its popular Sunday brunches, Spectra offers a diverse array of dishes from Continental, Western, Asian, Indian, and Japanese cuisines.
An unforgettable dining experience! I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a lavish dinner at Spectra, and I must say—It was my third visit and as always it exceeded all expectations! The buffet spread was incredibly impressive, offering a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Every dish we tried was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The ambiance was elegant and serene, with attentive staff who made the evening even more enjoyable. Whether you're a fan of classic Indian cuisine or prefer global dishes, there’s something here for every palate. I especially loved the starters and dessert section—they were the highlights of the night! Highly recommend this place for a luxurious dining experience with top-notch service and unforgettable food. Can’t wait to visit again!

Spectra from The Leela Palace offers a wide range of cuisines in their buffet menu, ranging from Arabian to Italian. Their starter section consisted of 6-7 dishes, starting from paneer ones to even sushi varieties. The main course consisted of Kari Dosa, a few Indian and Tandoori dishes, Pasta of our choice and Asian dishes. The dessert section was truly a delight - they had a waffle station with assorted topping choices, 12 flavours of ice cream, a variety of cake choices and Indian desserts. The beach view was scintillating and the staff were really nice!! Definitely worth a visit if you like trying out multiple cuisines at once!

Spectra is for sure one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever been. The ambiance is amazing with huge chandeliers. The taste of food is good too.
Manikandan — Google review
I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday for team lunch. As you enter, the lavish interiors welcome you giving you a sense of excitement and raises the expectations about the food. As you start relishing the food the excitement will start to diminish. The starter section had limited varieties, especially non-veg sections, which isn't worth the cost considering we pay more than 2000 per person. Moreover, the taste of most dishes is bland. Maybe, to satisfy the foreigner's taste buds. For Indian taste buds it's a strict no. There were few live counters and a sushi counter as well. Desserts section had a good variety, which was the soothing part of the buffet. Loved their ice creams.

Kudos to staff Shimra, Priya, Chef Vinodh, Kitchen Executive Chef who was kind enough to dish out an delicious fish curry with steaming idlies and making us Chukku Kaapi, which are generally not available. Went here for Lunch on a Sunday. It was peak hours so I wasn't very happy with the service given the price paid. Food was really good. No complaints. The staff were polite but a visible delay in service was seen. The spread is amazing! Chinese was amazing followed by the Sushi section. Desserts were pretty good too
Vidya L — Google review
While it boasts a wider variety in lunch buffet, the quality is sub par. Its nice to see so many live kitchens, but the uncooked pasta even after insisting, hard pakodas, vinegar high gaucamole stripped out basic expectation. Sushi were good, some starters were. Kadala curry and ice cream quality were average. I suggest, we can try once for the experience of it. But this place is lost cause for food lovers.

Sangeetha Veg Restaurant in Adyar, Chennai is a health-conscious vegetarian eatery that specializes in traditional Indian cuisine. With its humble beginnings in Chennai, the restaurant has expanded to 23 other locations and even has international branches in Sydney, Hong Kong, Qatar, Canada, and Doha. Known for its reliable service and extensive menu, this pure vegetarian restaurant boasts 29 outlets across the city.
Sangeetha is undoubtedly one of the top restaurants in Gandhinagar. It's always buzzing with people, which speaks volumes about its quality. The food is consistently delicious—whether it's their crispy dosas or thick, creamy milkshakes. I especially recommend the Mango Republic—it’s loaded with nuts and so rich, I absolutely love it! Their biryani is also quite impressive, but the real star is the sambar. It tastes exactly the same every single time—so flavorful and comforting! Honestly, there are times I go there just to enjoy their idlis with sambar and that amazing red chutney. Another must-try is their Chole Bhature—so tasty! Plus, the pricing is quite reasonable. All in all, Sangeetha is a place you can walk into without a second thought. Consistent, tasty, and satisfying every time!

Pros: Great place to dine especially for dinner. The food was of good quality and quantity. As it was near to the place I stayed. There were singers doing a nice live concert and the vibe was pleasant. Service was good. Cons: The cost of the food was expensive. We ordered paneer pulav and it was bit oily. Informed the bearer and he informed that it was olive oil used in the making of the pulav.

Sangeetha is undoubtedly one of the popular veg restaurants in Chennai. They are providing variety of vegetarian dishes and meals with good taste and quality. This place is located on the sardar Patel road and close to Madhya Kailash signal. It’s usually crowded with people and always difficult to find the parking spots. The staff’s are friendly and polite. The wash room and restrooms are small but tidy. We ordered several items like meals, North Indian dishes and mini meals with dishes and deserts There are two floors in the restaurant but still crowded. Overall if you want to experience high quality veg food then you can definitely go there.

Sangeetha Pure Veg is hands down one of the best South Indian vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever visited. From the moment you step in, the warm hospitality and the delicious aroma of freshly prepared dosas and sambhar set the tone for a truly satisfying dining experience. The menu is rich with South Indian classics — crispy masala dosas, soft and fluffy idlis, piping hot vadas, and their signature pongal are all executed to perfection. Their sambhar is flavorful and has the right balance of spices, and the chutneys (especially the coconut and tomato varieties) are fresh and complement every dish beautifully. What really stands out is the authenticity of flavors. It genuinely feels like a taste of South India in every bite. The meals are served with generous portions and the traditional South Indian thali is a must-try — offering a variety of curries, pickles, rasam, and sweets that give a full culinary experience. The restaurant is clean, family-friendly, and efficiently run. Service is quick, and the staff are courteous and helpful. Whether you’re in for a quick breakfast, a hearty lunch, or a relaxed dinner, Sangeetha never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, pure veg South Indian food!

A regular customer for more than ten years .. now a days.. feel that Standard is reduced a bit ..pls look into this.. .. Yesterday visited for lunch .. not that usual crowd .even got a car parking .. . got a seat in first floor ..outside seating . The service person was lethargic .. starters ..roti n side dish..pulav.. .. all were given at same time .. usually starter is given first n other things one by one.. Veg Soup ,babycorn starters and even paneer gravy everything had a pinch of salt extra and spice level was more .. did not like that much ..not as usual .. Last week due to crowd .. only second floor seating for lunch ..was given.. the handwash area cramped and food did not like that much .. though it's olive oil cooking i think..always noticed the ground floor n first floor food is better .. I don understand how ..certain food is cooked in seperate kitchen i guess ..

Just brilliant! I loved the food here. Starting from the complementary breakfast served from the new woodlands stay, the meals south and north India and dinner roti and noodles. This is a pure vegetarian restaurant. The food was very good and too tasty. The quality was very good and quantity served was worth the price. There are plenty of varieties on the menu. The atmosphere is very good inside the restaurant. There are also multiple other resturants in the same building. There is plenty of parking available but during peak hours it may get difficult to find a parking slot. Must visit when you are in Chennai.

As a new explorer of Chennai, I found out about this place through one of the social media platforms. Their ambience shows that it’s a typical old restaurant and its customers are such. We had their over priced, mediocre filter coffee, decent pesarat and underwhelming rava kichdi. Sides were common for all yet not my opinion. Doesn’t hold up to the traditional name it has built but pure vegetarians might find this place as heaven on earth.
Thirumanjari K — Google review
One of the popular places in Chennai for Veg food. They serve North and South Indian dishes along with Chinese. Never tried North Indian food here but have always enjoyed South Indian. They serve the best Rasam Vada, Dosas etc. Their chutneys are just too good. One can order extra Chutney for the sake of its taste. Their filter coffee is good too. They have enough parking for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers. Service is very fast and staff is well trained. Almost every staff can speak Hindi. So it becomes easy for non Tamil visitors. Definitely visit if you are in Mylapore area.

Excellent Party Hall & Outstanding Service! We recently celebrated our son’s birthday at Matsya Banquet Hall and had a truly wonderful experience! The hall was spacious, perfect for a kids birthday celebration with activities and games. A special thanks to ⭐️Manager Mr. SRINIVASAN for arranging everything so well, especially the food. The food quality was superb and the taste was amazing. All our guests enjoyed the dishes. Another manager, ⭐️Mr.KATHIRESAN, was also very helpful and always available whenever we needed any information. The service team was simply outstanding. A special mention to ⭐️Mr.SARAVANAN, who supported us throughout the event. Since it was a birthday party, we had to move tables and chairs multiple times for different activities, and every single request was handled immediately with a smile. The staffs were always prompt and polite. We truly experienced 100% satisfaction with their service. We also want to appreciate Event Manager ⭐️Mr.SRIRAM for organizing the birthday décor exactly the way we imagined. The decoration was neat, beautiful, and perfectly matched the theme. If you’re a vegetarian looking for a place that celebrates flavor, freshness, and variety, The Mathsya is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, the warm ambiance and subtle aroma of vegetarian food instantly make you feel at home. The Veg buffet menu is extensive, offering something for everyone — from classic Indian curries and paneer delicacies to continental pastas, oriental stir-fries, and healthy bowls. The South Indian thali is perfectly balanced. For something lighter, the salad bar is fresh and vibrant, and the fusion dishes show real creativity in vegetarian cooking. The service is prompt and friendly, with staff always ready to recommend dishes based on your preference. The serving staff should be courageous when somebody body asks for extra food ...should serve rather than saying you will not get this in your thali. The restaurant maintains excellent hygiene, and the ambiance — soft lighting, earthy tones, and soothing music — creates the perfect dining experience.

I visited the T. Nagar branch of Mathsya today with a friend, and it turned out to be an embarrassing and unpleasant experience. We had booked through Zomato by paying a ₹50 cover charge, expecting a smooth dining experience. However, only upon reaching the restaurant did they inform us that the offer was valid only for buffet customers. Nowhere was this clearly mentioned during booking. We just wanted to try a soup and a few starters, not the buffet. The food itself was a huge letdown. The soup was just about decent, but the starters were an absolute disaster. We ordered Mushroom Manchurian and Golden Fried Baby Corn, and honestly, they were among the worst I’ve ever had — dripping with oil, poorly made, and completely lacking in taste. To make things worse, when the bill arrived, they initially refused to adjust the ₹50 cover charge, forcing us to argue with the manager before they finally deducted it. This whole situation was unnecessary and left us extremely disappointed. Overall, this branch of Mathsya was a total letdown — bad food, poor communication, and unprofessional handling of customers. Definitely would not recommend this place to family or friends, and I will never return here again. Reply to your Response dated 23/09/2025 Okay, I’ll deal with Zomato directly regarding the offer. But what about the food? That was entirely your responsibility, and it was honestly a huge disappointment. The starters we ordered were dripping in oil, poorly prepared, and completely lacking in taste. It wasn’t worth the money at all. The communication issue aside, the food experience itself was extremely unsatisfactory and left us very disappointed.

Honestly, as a food lover, I'd give this place 3 stars. The ambiance and service are good, but the taste doesn't quite match the price. The quantity is also quite small. It seems they focus more on buffets. The menu card lacks creativity, with only the usual items featured. Also, I felt that your Sambar lacked soul, which is a disappointment. @Mathsya please consider

Upon speaking to the manager, he says that the customers are expected to know the details without it being informed in the menu. How can someone assume that this information is universally known. Also, why is ice-cream added to a product under fresh fruit shakes category. The manager justifies that it is how it is. I empathize with the employee who prepared the food. Also, the employee at the billing section at Nungambakkam branch doesn't understand Tamil and shows indifference to provide the information. I told him less sugar and and that I don't want the shake cold (I can't have cold drinks and have cut down on sugar) Even then he just nodded as though he understood my every word. If only he had warned me just in time, the order would not have to be prepared and it would not go waste. Seriously, they got to improve the service.

This franchise has grown well over the years and has been pioneers in serving juices from fresh ingredients all the time. This shop is located in the heart of the city and has been my go-to over the years. . Paneer Sandwich - Regular sized sandwich with lettuce, tomato and Paneer; pretty stale since there was zero spice; the filling was still cold which ruined the overall bite; Naaaaah Golden triangle - An amalgamation of Pineapple, sweet lime, grapes; this was almost the perfect combination since the sourness from all the 3 fruits helped hitting the sweet spot like in the center of the triangle; wasn't too sweet but was refreshing Tender coconut pudding - Sticky, jelly pudding with so much of elaneer in it; the gooey consistency was okay but apart from that, this hasn't got much to offer Alphonso mango juice - Mild-sweet mango beaten with ice; pulpy with rich flavor from the fruit; definitely still the King of fruits . Unfortunately, my experience during this visit has been rough and wasn't satisfied to my fullest. Maybe it was an off-day but they still have scope to improve on. The service was decent enough with good seating space and lighting. Parking should be okay with good space along the main road. Perfect for a quick drink on a summer day with the prices too being okayish.

Update / 16/09/22 First visit to this location post pandemic and it was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong, the flavours were still brilliant and the location retained the same ambiance but there were some things that were annoying. Starting with the lack of most of the things on the menu esp my favourite falooda was a utter disappointment. We made a list of 13 drinks and of that 7 were unavailable and we all went for other drinks. The tender coconut pudding and jughead were so good. Old Review. Get a Jughead after a Falooda and you'll know what grinning like an idiot looks like 😋 Exceptional desserts and drinks that leave you with a smile, every single time. A haven for the city especially during summer days.

Eden Vegetarian is a long-standing restaurant known for its modest yet inviting atmosphere and delectable vegetarian dishes. Specializing in both Indian and continental cuisine, this establishment has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike for years. Their commitment to quality service and food is evident in their extensive menu, which includes baked dishes featuring generous amounts of cheese alongside home-style Indian fare.
Food is very good. Quantity and quality is okay but bit expensive. Atmosphere can be improved. The room acoustics is poor. If you are one who will enjoy peaceful dinner with your love better go at an odd time or a week day to enjoy. Hospitality is good.

Hi Google users, I visited this place for lunch. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We ordered Jalapeno Poppers and Kathi Rolls for starters. We also ordered a portion of Roasted Pumpkin and Peanut soup. All the starters were fresh and tasty. Chef's Baked Bowl was excellent and they served it with toasted bread. The bowl has many vegetables and mushroom. The cheese crust was baked to perfection. We also had Pesto Fusille pasta. It was very creamy. The last time I ever saw my waist is the best dessert I have had for many years as it mixes icecream, brownie and chocolate sauces. The Apple Pie was a show steller as they served it with whipped cream. If you are in and around Besant Nagar area in Chennai then I recommend visiting this place for a quick bite or big meal. Regards, Deepak.

Really, really good food. The Spaghetti Supreme is the best pasta I have ever had!! Milkshakes are also fantastic and their sundaes and ice creams are all very nice too. Wish they could serve much faster. We once had to wait almost 30-40 mins after ordering. Otherwise it is excellent, amazing, fantastic, fabulous, etc.

Amazing spot serving an irresistible feast! Every bite was pure bliss – from the rich, creamy Mushroom on Toast to the perfectly spiced Cottage Cheese Paneer Steak. And the grand finale? The indulgent Gajar Halwa and super duper Tiramisu—a dessert lover’s dream! If you’re looking for a place that surprises your taste buds, this is it! A must-visit for foodies who love hidden gems.

From the moment we walked into Eden we were impressed: the dining room is spotless, tastefully lit, and has a calm, welcoming vibe. The staff deserve special praise—every server was warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, steering us toward dishes we might have missed. What we ordered • Spaghetti Pasta – perfectly al‑dente strands coated in a bright, balanced sauce. • Spicy Tandoori Platter (★ must‑try) – tender pieces with a smoky char and punchy masala that lingers in the best way. • Spicy Rice Bowl – fragrant, fluffy rice and vegetables bathed in a Thai‑style curry; comfort food raised to the next level. • Baked Gulab Jamun (★ must‑try dessert) – all the richness of traditional gulab jamun but with a delicate baked crust and just the right sweetness. A memorable finish. Highlights • Immaculate cleanliness and soothing ambience. • Staff who are as friendly as they are knowledgeable. • Thoughtful portion sizes and fair pricing. • Flavors that hit the sweet spot between comforting and adventurous. Eden delivers on both service and taste. If you’re looking for a place that treats guests like friends and plates food with real care, put this restaurant at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back.

Quite a novel approach to assembling an aubergine parmigiana, where the chief components, namely the aubergine, the sauce and the cheese weren’t layered but made into a sort of casserole with the eggplants chopped into cubes and tossed with the sauce and the cheese sprinkled on top. I appreciated the flavourful tomato sauce that had fresh torn basil leaves and was a mix of mildly sweet and acidic notes. However, the cheese wasn’t Parmesan to begin with, and to add to the diner’s woes it was a kind of diced cheese sprinkled over the top that hadn’t even fully melted let alone baked to a brown crust. I hope the management takes measures to improve this dish that had come so close to hitting all its marks.

Great food. Go to restaurant for years now. North Indian and continental dishes are of great quality and quantity. Kid friendly as well. Thoroughly enjoy their breads and pasta. Since it's quite a small place, expect crowds during the weekend and it's quite noisy inside the restaurant too. Service is good as well.N Parking is quite difficult but you can find open parking opposite the restaurant.

We celebrated New Year's Day 2025 with a delightful lunch at Eden Vegetarian Restaurant in Besant Nagar, Chennai. Eden Vegetarian Restaurant in Besant Nagar, Chennai, has been a cherished establishment for over three decades, renowned for its consistent quality and homely ambiance. Starters: We began our meal with the classic tomato soup and a roasted pumpkin and peanut soup. The tangy aloo bites and bharwan paneer stood out among the starters, each achieving a delightful balance of crisp exteriors and soft interiors. The garlic bread, while good, didn't particularly impress. The tandoori salad featured a delectable malai paneer tikka paired with grilled pineapple and assorted vegetables, with the paneer being exceptionally soft and flavorful. Main Course: Our selections included the chef's baked bowl—a medley of crunchy vegetables, corn, macaroni, and mushrooms enveloped in a creamy white sauce with a cheesy topping. The grilled aubergine, tomato, and mozzarella panini offered a harmonious blend of flavors, complemented by well-prepared potato wedges. The vegetable crumble presented fresh vegetables baked with a nutty topping, and the corn and capsicum pulao accompanied by subzi mirchiwale provided a satisfying, mildly spiced option. The pulao was fresh and fragrant even though couple of us felt it could have used a bit more salt, but that's just personal preference. Drinks: The lime mint water and pomegranate juice were both refreshing, serving as excellent palate cleansers between courses. Dessert: Concluding our meal, the warm apple pie with whipped cream was a highlight, offering a perfectly balanced sweetness that was both comforting and indulgent. The total cost for four adults was ₹3,628, which we found reasonable given the quality and variety of dishes. The portions were very adequate, in fact we had to take some leftovers to go. In summary, our New Year's Day 2025 lunch at Eden was a delightful culinary journey. The restaurant's unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional vegetarian cuisine, combined with its warm and inviting atmosphere, with quick and efficient service staff, ensures that it remains a beloved destination for both long-time patrons and newcomers alike.

Mathsya Egmore is a trendy and modern restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring dishes from India, China, and Europe. It is renowned for popularizing restaurant-served filter coffee in Chennai, particularly the authentic Mysore variant with a unique flavor. This establishment is considered the pioneer of Udipi hotels in the city.
Ordered the ghee roast expecting a crispy bite, but it was on the softer side though, the ghee wasn’t overpowering. The rasam vada surprised us with a generous portion of piping hot rasam, a super soft vada. Honestly, it felt like a full meal on its own. Wrapped it all up with a classic filter kaapi served in brass tumblers comforting and just the way a good day should end. The place looks recently renovated, with tasteful interiors, great food quality, and quick service. A solid dining experience overall!

Average food, average service, average ambience. An OG night spot for late night eats. After 11pm this becomes a great place to go, especially for the chilli cheese toast and rasam vada. Having tried almost everything on their menu over the years before and after renovation, this place makes for a decent visit. Don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed. I still go to this place from time to time.

A must visit vegetarian restaurant!

Overall satisfied with the experience and the food quality and taste.

August 2025 report: Restaurant has free but limited parking for cars Parking is managed by one Hindi speaking guy who doesn’t even know to say “right or left” and uses sign language with Hindi words Visited this place for veg fine dining based on friends recommendation and the management chose to be kanjoos with staffing. Atleast have an English speaking North Indian to guide the parking. We had serious trouble finding parking space with Hindi only speaking staff. Definitely not a great start for “fine dining”. We tried raja raja chozhan dosa and rava onion dosa for main. Chozhan dosa is overrated , it just has tomato chutney and coconut chutney spread inside the dosa with capsicum and tomato bits. Not worth it. The sambar is really good but they are not keen on refilling . The tomato chutney was spoilt and coconut chutney was “cold” like it was just pulled out of refrigeration. They dint have basic courtesy to heat the cold coconut chutney . We already lost the good will of this place and we just wanted to finish it off and walk out We also ordered rasam vada which is good. We thoroughly enjoyed rasam vada and highly recommend it Service: below average service . We were reading menu to check what to order for sides and the order taker just removed the menu book while we were reading the menu. Pathetic . They dint fill water to the glasses as well Overall, an overhyped place. It might have been a legendary place earlier but as of August 2025, it’s not worth the visit I will not recommend this place to friends and family Kindly mark this review as HELPFUL to encourage just elaborate helpful reviews

Bombay Lassi is a popular spot known for its affordable and delicious Indian snacks and sweets. The menu includes items like samosas, kachoris, jalebis, and gulab jamun, all priced under INR 20. Customers rave about the quality of the samosas and recommend washing them down with a refreshing lassi. While there is no seating available, patrons can enjoy their treats while standing near the shop. The establishment has recently undergone renovations but still maintains its charming appeal.
Very nice snacks here. The hot samosa and kachori are must try. We then went for the special lassi which had rabbadi in it. I saw them make the lassi live and being churned. To finish with the jalebi and carrot halwa for gorgeous. The carrot halwa has kova pieces in it which made it heavenly. Always this place is crowded and everything is fast moving. But the place and location is a bit weird. Situated at a corner in a lonely street. But the food is good.

Bombay Lassi Stall – Royapettah, Chennai: A Hidden Gem for Authentic North Indian Snacks Tucked away in one of the narrow streets of Royapettah, Bombay Lassi Stall is a modest, medium-sized self-service eatery that delivers big on authentic taste. Known for its simple yet flavorful offerings, this place has garnered a loyal following over the years, especially for its samosas, kachodis, and of course, its namesake lassi. Ambience & Accessibility The stall operates out of a small shop inside a street that is only accessible by two-wheelers or on foot, adding a bit of a "hidden gem" charm to the experience. There’s no seating available, and everything is served at the counter — quick, no-frills, and self-service. It's the kind of spot that thrives on local love rather than fancy decor. Menu & Taste The menu is refreshingly simple with a handful of items — but each one is done well. I tried their kachodi and lassi, and both lived up to their reputation. The kachodi was crisp and spiced just right, with a satisfying texture that makes you want to go for a second. The lassi was subtle, not too sweet, and had a comforting homemade quality to it. They also serve a selection of traditional Indian sweets like jalebi, rabadi, and gulab jamun. I picked up a jalebi parcel, and even after some time, the sweetness and crunch held up — a good sign of quality. Service & Payment This is strictly a self-service joint. You place your order, pick it up at the counter, and enjoy your food on the go or standing outside. One important thing to note: they only accept cash — so plan accordingly before heading there. Final Thoughts If you're in or around Royapettah and in the mood for classic North Indian snacks, Bombay Lassi Stall is well worth a visit. It’s not about luxury or variety here — it’s about honest, authentic flavors served fresh in a nostalgic street-side setting. Highlights: Authentic taste, especially samosas, kachodis, and lassi Quick self-service model Great value for money Must-try: Kachodi, lassi, and jalebi Things to Note: No digital payment options — cash only No seating; self-service only Best accessed by bike or foot due to narrow lanes

Fusilli Reasons is a popular Italian eatery in Chennai, known for its limited but unforgettable menu of garlic breads and pastas. The pasta and garlic bread are particularly praised for their delicious taste, making Fusilli Reasons a must-visit for Italian food enthusiasts.
Best Garlic Bread in Town....Tried Chilli Cheese Toast and Beetroot Mayo...The taste was Damn Good.... I would definitely recommend this. Lastly had their Pink Lemonade and Lemon Tang It was good.

Since we didn't get a table in Kites, we happened to enter Fusilli. The food was good quality with a variety of pasta options. sandwich 🥪 and Nachos 😋 The plates and spoons used here are eco friendly disposable ones. Awesome pink lemonade....and iced tea. Most of the customers were youngsters. They also had lots of takeaway being prepared for 🚚 delivery. The security at the gate is a nuisance.

I recently visited Fusilli Reasons, and while the food was excellent, the overall experience left room for improvement. Their signature pasta was flavorful, well-cooked, and absolutely worth trying. 🍝✨ However, the service was disappointingly slow—it took nearly 10 minutes just to take our order, even though the place was barely full. Another area that needs attention is cleanliness. A more hygienic and well-maintained space would make the dining experience even better. Great food deserves great service and a clean setting! Hoping they work on these aspects because the food truly has potential.

Food taste is not like before .. service is good but atmosphere is ok only .. few years before it was sooo good in taste and ambience but now it’s questionable. New comers may not feel what I said but persons who visit here for many years may feel the difference .. renovation is needed for the place . Apart from these only limited items are available in menu which can be tried for quick bites . Their nachos will be soo good and pasta will be decent . Don’t expect more , in addition they have separate Jain menu ..

An absolute favorite of mine since 2015! Their garlic bread is unmatched — especially with the three signature sauces drizzled on top. The beetroot one is my personal favorite. Their Mac & Cheese truly has my heart — hands down one of the best in the city. Creamy, comforting, and packed with maggi flavor. The dine-in space is on the smaller side and can get a bit noisy, but the food more than makes up for it. Must-try dishes: ✔️ Nachos ✔️ Assorted Garlic Bread ✔️ Mac & Cheese In the photo: Assorted Garlic Bread + their newly introduced Red Sauce Pasta — both worth a try!

Everything was perfect. Food was awesome. I had masala mac which was fantabulous. And both the beetroot mayo garlic bread and corn and spinach garlic bread was awesome. The Creamy pesto pasta was a bit salty but not bad. The pricing was not high considering the quality and quantity of food. overall experience was great. The order also was prepared in less than 10 to 15 minutes. Even though they have a small outlet they're providing valet parking which is nice. Definitely the best place to have pastas and garlic breads.

I remember when fusilli was a small shop in ormes road and I had a huge plate of pasta with my friends from school , it's been more than 10 years , the location has changed , the quantity had changed , the taste also has changed , but the nostalgia stays the same. I come here and i enjoy eating the food , especially pesto pasta , beetroot mayo garlic bread (my mom's favorite), and the vanilla pot. Some complain it's the same old boring pasta , but sometimes it's the same thing that we ache to feel once again....I hope this restaraunt never goes away, i hope I get to bring my kids here too, I'll let them know I was a kid eating here too just like them. Thanks fusilli , for being a place close to my heart ♥️

If it wasn't for the unlimited menu, thi place wouldn't really be worth going. The food is not over the top, and all the pizzas don't differ much in taste. Also the dessert, starters menu is not as fulfilling as one would expect. However it's a good place to hangout, when in large groups. The staff is friendly. The buffet service is quite efficient. All said, you probably wouldn't be going to this place more than once. You definitely would have had better pizzas than the ones served in this place.

First visit - it was good. They had some pizzas unavailable in non veg unlimited category. But it was very tasty. So I rated 5. Second visit - really bad. They had nothing. No bacon, no prawns, no eggs. All they had was chicken pizzas available under unlimited pizza category. Taste wise it's a good place to go. Chocolate and banana pizza, chicken keema pizza was really delicious. Really loved it and it became my favourite. But stocks maintaining is really worst. Not visiting another time. Changing my rating to 2.

I am a Italian food lover. I was excited to taste this restaurant. The first thing i order in every italian restaurant is Cheesy Fries which was unfortunately not available on that day. The waiter was honest enough to say that previous customer did not like that taste so we stopped it for today. I liked that approach who are considering customers reviews. Coming to food... Cheesy Garlic bread had very less cheese.... it could have been better... Paneer was good... it was a decent taste.... Pasta also cheesy pasta was not available... so i went for a sausy one which was neither bad nor good according to my taste.... PIZZA was so awesome... i really liked that taste although the size of that pizza is very less for that cost. So i would suggest people to choose unlimited Pizza option and eat a lot and have your tummy satisfied 😊.......

Eating Circles is a cozy, self-serve vegetarian South Indian restaurant that offers a variety of delicious dosas, some inspired by Kannada cuisine. The restaurant also takes pride in having hosted #Virushka. Guests can enjoy crispy, golden brown dosas and soft thattu idly while taking in the simple ambiance and great service.
I absolutely loved the food! They were yummy and in right proportion to make your tummy full! I ordered Thattu Idli, rose milk, filter coffee, vada, chow chow bath and my most favourite their Bangalore special garlic dosa , you can find that at the top of their menu. It was honestly the best dosa I had! One dosa of their enough is enough to make you full. Their rose milk was too good as well. My total bill was around 590 something which makes it pretty affordable. Had no wait time and the service was quick as well. People were helpful too! Definitely recommended! 🥰

Although pricy but this is the only place where you can indulge some bangalore styled classic breakfast dishes. Be it masala dosa / wada, everything tasts good with the jaggery sambar. Otherwise, the beverages offered are too sweet, coffee is just alright for 70/-.

I visited Eating Circle Restaurant this morning for breakfast, and while the food was acceptable, the service at the point of payment was truly pathetic and unprofessional. The cashier at the counter processed my order and went straight to the payment terminal without once asking me my preferred mode of payment. When I clearly stated that I intended to use Swiggy Pay, he responded rudely and abruptly, saying I "can't pay" that way because he had already entered UPI into the system and refused to change it. This inflexibility and lack of basic customer communication is unacceptable. A cashier should confirm the payment method before finalising the transaction. Being spoken to rudely and forced to pay using a method I didn't choose is a major failure of service. I was eventually forced to use UPI. Management urgently needs to train their staff on simple customer interaction and payment processing etiquette. Avoid this restaurant if professional service is what you seek. Neer Dosa is very over priced! NB: at the time the restaurant changed the menu pricing listed in Swiggy Dining

I tried Kesari bath, Rava idli, Masala Dosa, Medu Vada, Mangalore Buns, Coffee - all were absolutely yummy and perfect choice for breakfast. Especially the chutney and sambar were lip smacking. It's a self service and the only issue I felt the prices are literally high. Overall, it's totally worth visiting here.

One of the best place in Chennai try carnatic foods. Their kara bath, ghee soaked podi dosai and filter coffee are must try dishes. The best part is, whatever is in the menu is served throughout the day.
Vikresh T — Google review
We went for breakfast and had madhur vada, Mysore masala dosa, Kara bath and Bangalore masala dosa. Madhur vada was very tasty. Enjoyed my favorite Kara bath. Overall it was good to taste the karnataka menu in chennai.

This place is more suitable for those who like Karnataka type breakfasts as their sambar is a bit sweet and dosas are similar to Karnataka. The food is good though.
Adarsh V — Google review
We just tried the Bangalore masala dosa and it was tasty. It was definitely on the oily side but I guess that is true for most dosa places now. It is on the pricy side. 165rs per dosa

Kasi Vinayaga Mess is a must-visit gem nestled in the vibrant Triplicane area of Chennai. After hearing rave reviews on social media, I finally made my way there and was greeted by a lively atmosphere even close to closing time. The restaurant exudes vintage charm and maintains high standards of cleanliness, both in the dining area and kitchen. Their simple yet delicious home-style meals are incredibly affordable, with a limited meal priced at just 110 rupees.
We went here for lunch in the afternoon. Meals cost ₹110, and it’s just ₹10 extra if you add ghee and paruppu podi/dal. The meals were excellent – tasted just like home food and definitely worth the money. Luckily, we reached before the crowd started, so we didn’t have to wait. But as soon as we began eating, a long queue formed outside! This is one of the best vegetarian messes to eat in Triplicane. Don’t miss it if you’re nearby. Paruppu podi with ghee is a must-try along with the meals.
Lokesh R — Google review
This place serves simple meals at a cheap cost. They are very organised to control the crowd as well. You pay 10₹ etc for curd and ghee. Rice was more like அச்சடிச்ச சோறு, which I didn't like. The sambar and rasam were good. Kaarakolambu was soso. Worth going if you don't have much expectations.

Must visit spot in chennai. Located in triplicane Kasivinayaga mess tucked in a narrow residencial lane serves outstanding southindian meals pipping hot rice with dal and ghee, sambar, vathakuzhambu, poriyal, papad, fresh pickle, curd, rasam and buttermilk it's a vegan meal if you avoid ghee, curd and buttermilk
Vidya L — Google review
I stopped by Kasivinayaga Mess in Triplicane. It was on my bucket list, but it did not meet expectations, or perhaps the taste was off that day. To get paruppu podi or dhal, you need to buy a separate token, each costing 10 rupees. Meals were 120 rupees. The sambar was disappointing, but the pappu podi, kootu, and pineapple Rasam were enjoyable. I had pineapple Rasam for the first time in over a decade. The serving of rice was generous. However, car parking was extremely challenging. There was good amount of crowd so we had to wait for more than 15 mins even at 3 PM. kVM has a loyal fan base.

A Flavorful Find at Kasi Vinayaga Mess! 🍽️✨ Had a great dinner yesterday at Kasi Vinayaga Mess — simple, soulful, and super satisfying! Tried: ✅ Dosa ✅ Curd Rice ✅ Pongal (our favorite!) The Pongal was absolutely delicious — soft, comforting, and perfectly complemented by their top-notch sambar. The flavors hit just right! What really stood out? We noticed several elderly folks patiently waiting outside even before the place opened at 7:30 PM — a true sign of how beloved and trusted this mess is in the area. ❤️ 💸 Budget-friendly 🧍‍♂️ Self-service setup 🍛 We’re definitely going back to try their famous meals next time — heard it’s the real star of the show! If you’re in the area and love authentic South Indian food, don’t miss this spot! #KasiVinayagaMess #ChennaiEats #SouthIndianFood #FoodieFinds #PongalLove #BudgetEats #SambarGoals #MustTryMeals

Excellent south Indian food. Few points, remember there is a queue for token, next seating by color of token in turns again from queue, seating based on number of token match to number on table. Rice tightly packed into bubble cylindrical shape.. I thought I could eat 2 but it's tightly packed...one was sufficient. At Rs.90 worth far more. Awesome sambhar, rasam and kottu poriyal Appalam pickle. Dhal podi ghee available at Rs.10. Packing Rs.120 but need to pick on 1st floor. My suggestion to management... please simplify token distribution and seating. Keep people on single queue wanting to have lunch. Give token when table available so that seating is immediate. And packet delivery at ground floor entrance... hard of people with knee and age issue. But once again great Sambhar....please keep the food taste same.
Sunil M — Google review
They've been operating since 1972. Highly overrated mess. Price (110) didn't justify the quality of food or service. A very very small table where even the banana leaf was jutting out. The rice was below average and hard. It's moulded in whatever dish and looked real sad. The other dishes were also below average. The service was also poor. The staff weren't looking trained. I was expecting homely food and a decent atmosphere. Both zero. With so many mansions nearby, they really need to look into the price, quality and service.

Ajanabi, located in the bustling Fountain Plaza in Egmore, is a popular spot known for its delectable chat and sweets. Despite slightly higher prices, the wide variety of snack items will surely leave you craving for more. The place is renowned for serving some of the best chaat in the city, with dishes like Raj Kachori and Bhel Puri standing out as favorites among visitors.
A place that I cherish from my college days. BHEL puri was my fav those days though the taste is different now. I wish they get that taste back. Every dish is class apart

4 star for the pani puri. Place is nice and idlylic for a short eat. Old Hindi songs in the background all very nice. But….. The packed snacks are quite bland in taste. Disappointed with their taste.
Khaane H — Google review
"Worst experience at Ajinabi, Egmore! The chips were stale and absolutely not worth ₹80—a total waste of money. Every thing is soo costly. To make things worse, the owner only seems to respect wealthy customers while ignoring others. Such biased and arrogant behavior is unacceptable in any business. If you don’t value all customers equally, you don’t deserve our money. Avoid this place!"
Sabari M — Google review
This Food Establishment is situated at Fountain Plaza, opposite Co-optex , Pantheon Road. The name captures the essence of the oldest North Indian Chaat shop featuring their own factory made healthy snacks and flavorful masala, pickles & sweets. This shop offers a wide range of chaat, samosa, cutlets, sandwiches, aloo Paratha combo and chole baturee. I can suggest this place for providing snacks and chaat at a very nominal cost starting from Rs.35 INR maximum of 200 bucks. I tried their cutlets, chole bature, Pav Bhajii, Vada Pav, Dahi Papdi Chat and Samosas. This place definitely offers a taste of Gujarati !
Neevikha R — Google review
It's a small chaatwala kind of place. It was one of the cool places to hang around in 90s. Fountain plaza was the" happening" place back then. Pantheon road was also much much better. It's almost 50 yrs old but still retains the nostalgic taste of the then " north indian chaat" which was available in very few shops. I felt the rush today of those days when entering the shop. Even today it's a favourite joint for many people. Food 4.5 ( had tawa paneer pulao, the raita was slightly less in qty). Service was fast. Since the shop is small, ambience 4 Authentic north indian chaat, sweets and savouries and reasonably priced. A must visit place for people going to the govt museum

My go-to spot whenever I crave piping hot jalebi! Probably the best in town, always served with the perfect balance of crunch and tanginess. A bit on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. Located in the heart of Purasaivakkam with plenty of parking available, making it super convenient.

I visited this place initially for a chat but ended up having dinner. It was quite crowded, and I had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. The menu primarily features North Indian and Chinese cuisine. The ambience and service were good, although we felt that the prices were a bit on the higher side. I recommend this place for its chat and the hot jalebis, which are a must-try!

It is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially on weekends due to the high popularity. The establishment features live music and tastefully designed interiors, providing a fine dining experience. While some items may be pricey and not entirely satisfying, such as the starters with excessive garnishing, the pizza receives praise.
Truly a fabulous restaurant! Servers welcomed me with a smile. Mr. Kingsley, our server, was great. Pizzas are really tasty, salmon was also cooked well. The lady singing live ameliorates the restaurant ambience. This place is seemingly famous for deliveries.

The decor is modern and chic, featuring white-clothed tables, comfortable seating, ambient lighting, and quirky artifacts that create a welcoming and sophisticated vibe.. Toscano’s menu is extensive, offering a variety of Italian classics—pizzas, pastas, bruschetta, risottos, and decadent desserts, Their pizzas are especially recommended for their authentic flavors and use of slow levitation dough and their spaghetti carbonara, linguine pescatore, and chicken del Toscano are must try. Prices are considered slightly higher than average for Chennai, but for Italian cuisine lovers they can try it and it’s worth for it’s authentic taste and quality

Kailash Kitchen, located near Choolaimedu Signal, is a popular Tibetan restaurant known for its delicious momos and noodle dishes. The cozy ambiance makes it a favorite spot for locals, although seating can be limited. The restaurant is adorned with bamboo sticks and colorful Buddhist flags, adding to its charm. Visitors rave about the incredibly flavorful momos and recommend trying them with the spicy dip for an unforgettable experience.
Whenever I visit Chennai, I never miss coming here, my favorite spot for momos. I have been visiting this place for many years and the taste has remained consistently. After trying momos in various places, none have matched the taste I get here. The real highlight is their spicy dip, which adds an extra kick and elevates the whole experience. The combination of the momos and the dip is just incredible. This place is a must-visit, highly recommended!

A very small place that many might not find comfortable but I don't mind at all. The place can seat 4 tables at most and is situated on the main road. The momos were spot on! The ones in momos sa khang in bessy isn't as good anymore which is why I decided to head here. Dhangtuk was pretty good too!
Vidya L — Google review
Extremely small yet amazing momos. It might be difficult to figure out where the place is at first but you can check the images I have attached. I tried fried veg momos and my friend tried chicken. It was so damn different the filling was so good. I read over Reddit and found this local place. Must try momos place. I would not recommend noodles until you are looking for some street style noodles.
Mudita D — Google review
The Restaurant is located in the ruin, hard to find. They have only 3 items on the menu and I tried all of them. The momos and chowmein were okay but not wow. The cold noodle was a disaster, I don't what they are selling in the name of DHANGTHUK. It is supposed to be a traditional Tibetan dish and I tried it many times in northern parts of India such as Himachal, and Darjeeling. The Restaurant itself was so filthy and unhygienic that it felt like they hadn't cleaned the bamboo sticks for decades. The entire food was incorporated with red chilies which is not good for health so I neither recommend nor I'm going back to this place. POS-: they don't have anything like Thuppa on the menu which they have displayed on Google.
Sozo V — Google review
Tried this place after hearing about it for long time about their momos. Very small space but their chicken steamed momos tasted good and fried chicken momo was a bit oily i felt. The chowmein wasn't authentic but more like a normal street style noodle, the taste was so good and i loved it. the best part is the dip they give along with the momo which elevates the taste of the momo.
Abijith M — Google review
A very compact yet perfect place to hangout and have delicious foods(Their menu is limited yet has some of the best foods) . The fried momos and the dip is just mouth watering. The main highlight of their place is the sauce they serve. It is a must try spot for savoury lovers. The only drawback is the atmosphere and their parking facility. They in lack both of them. Otherwise it's a budget friendly mouth watering spot.
Anu S — Google review
Momos and the spicy dip are undoubtedly an absolute delight. Favorite in town but they could do better on the ambience. For starters, fix the tap and get the water running. Limited seating, a bit congested. Claustrophobic can only opt for a takeaway 🤷🏻‍♀️ But again, the BEST MOMOS in town!!

It looks pretty small, but can fit in about 50 people. Was here early in the morning and it was already half packed. There's no parking space, you may have to skip it, if you're here through your bike/ car. Food was warm and fresh, tasted divine. The service isn't that great. Even though there are about a dozen people, just 2 are managing the whole floor. The wash are and the floors are all in need of some deep cleaning.

We went to this outlet for evening tiffins. Very quiet and not much crowded - as we chose that time for have a peaceful time. Ordered Idly, Karam Dosa, Sambar Vadai, Kuzhi Paniyaram. All were served sambar and 2 types of chutneys. Dosa was ok types. Sambar Vadai was soft, however the sambar was not that hot. Idly was ok. They served 4 pieces in Kuzhi Paniyaram. Not so great. Ambience was quite good and even the service was ok. Food (taste) could have been better. Given a chance, would go to this place due to the proximity to the Guindy Metro and Railway station. Otherwise, this won't be in my top list.

Had a good meal at Sangeetha Veg, Guindy. The Ghee Roast Dosa was a bit too crispy for my taste but still flavorful. Quick service and reliable quality make it a solid spot for South Indian veg food.

South Indian Eatery is known for serving about 30 varieties of Dosa alone along with with other regular tiffin items like idly , vada ( they are really big and sumptuous) , curd vada with boondi, pongal etc. Their usp is quick delivery and fresh items. But the only issue is no tables are available to keep the plates for standing and eating. Must try Gobi Fried Rice , Thatte idly and Butter Paneer Dosa.

A vegetarian tiffin outlet quite close to Tirumangalam metro station offering various varieties of dosa, idlis, rice, vada, kuthu Porotta, etc. Often gets heavily crowded but the service is quite quick with not much delay in delivery. Does offer take away and stand and eat options. No tables or seats can make it a bit tough. Definitely a great place to try various dosa, the masala in masala dosa can be quite heavy and vada quite big.

Today I brought Mixed fried rice, the price was revised, I couldn't find any information on that. After checking the bill it was charged Rs 160 + GST then checked with the cashier he said yes revised 2 months back. Not Value for the money towards taste, quality, hygiene & service. Felt the quantity also much lesser than earlier. Definitely not worth it for that parking search and standing in the queue to get billed and stand in the road to get that food by paying such a premium amount. 1 Mixed Fried Rice & 1 Gobi Manchurian bill was Rs 300 took almost 40min not at all worth it.

Good place to catch pure veg tiffen items for dinner. Varieties of dosa available and pretty fast service considering the crowd there. No dine-in seatings and you have to take the corner of the street to eat what you bought. They have very average tasting juices on their menu but the main courses like masala dosas are loaded with the masala and very heavy. Think before you order two for yourself.

I've visited this tiffin centre many times for dinner, and the taste is consistently good. They excel at serving items hot, especially their various dosa varieties. This is one of the busiest tiffin centres in Anna Nagar, as you will almost always see a full rush—a clear sign of its popularity and quality. It is a pure vegetarian shop, but potential visitors should note that it is a stand-and-eat setup only, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Only concern is they should maintain neatness and keep atmosphere clean and clear

Food was good. Lots of varieties of dosa and that too prepared with a lot of ghee and stuffing. The price is too much but acceptable considering other veg restaurants providing just an average dosa for the same price just because of their brand. But for other items, it's way overpriced. ₹60 for a curd vadai???

We visited Indiska Magic on a Friday evening. The store is located on Harrington road and it has limited parking and it's tricky (due to the access). They offer a variety of sweets and savouries. They also have a restaurant attached where they serve chaat, starters and main course. We ordered a bunch of items on the menu. We got pani puri - they serve it with regular puri and sooji puri. The sooji puri was a little soft and crumbled, but the staff fixed it when we told them. The pani puri comes with 3 types of pani. Apart from the regular sweet and spicy water, they also offer a chilli garlic pani. Special shout out to their paneer tikka. It was exceptional. Tried visiting during the festival fiesta. Kulhad dahi chaat was average 2.5/5 Galati wrap was so salty had it returned and they removed it off the bill. 1/5 it was too oily also. Didn’t bother ordering more after these two dishes. Very bad experience. Expected much more. Overall 2/5.

Came to this place after so many years, since pandemic it’s my first time, I used to have sizzling pav bhaji and today I didn’t try but some other table, where trying and the aroma is still the same of that sizzling pav bhaji. I came here and tried their Lucknowi galouti wrap, it took a bit of time to serve due to making it fresh, so it got delayed and apparently the taste was worth off a wait, it was kind of romali roti or refined flour roti which was galouti tiki kebabs which was stuffed within the wrap and served with green mint chutney and salad at side, it was awesome 🤩 it was great 😊 I mean, it’s worth the try honestly and frankly speaking from my opinion, it was the experience and make sure that this item is still not in permanent menu card, they have this till September end, so anyone going post September end, you may not get it, because it is an food festival item, in which they have in separate temporary menu which is available on the table. Although I requested them to make it permanent on the menu, which was absolutely tasty 🤤 and fantastic, and even tried masala chaas, it was refreshing and light to beat the heat or having such a hot food, it was great.

Sweet : We tried Rasmalai which was ok. No dry fruits added. Other chats and Pav bhaji is good. Potato chips are toooo good , must buy Lot of parking spaces available.

A must-visit location if you enjoy authentic chats, and one that Chennai desperately needs since they offer chats without adding any local flavour. Do not miss to Try their sizzler pav bhaji, tawa pulav, and tawa mutter kulcha. They are currently hosting a chat festival through October 5th, during which they are serving popular chats from various Indian cities. Don't miss out on this chance to try Banarasi tomato chat, Nagpuri Khullad chat, kutchi pakwan, and Kolhapuri saboodana wada. Every chat is magical and filled with something delicious and unique. Along with a vast variety of North Indian sweets, this is the finest place to indulge your taste buds with Turkish delicacies like Baklava and kunafa. Great place to enjoy a meal with family & friends #purevegetarian #jainoption available . #neat and #clean place .

Located just a few blocks from Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore, the Mylapore Jannal Kadai Window Bajji stall is a popular spot known for its simple yet delicious home-cooked food. The window shop opens at 5:30 pm daily and offers a limited but high-quality menu featuring items like bajjis, bondas, idlis, dosas, pooris, and vadas at incredibly affordable prices.
Must try mirchi Baji and bread pakoda with that chutney and sambhar I just love it

Mylapore's street food scene is truly a paradise for budget-friendly eats. 🌟 Within just a 500-meter walk, you can find a wide range of snacks, meals, and tiffin options — perfect even for a casual date if you don't have a bike or vehicle. 🚶‍♂️🍴 One of the iconic spots here is the famous blue-window shop right next to the temple, known for its bajjis. Every few minutes, you’ll see people gathering around to grab their favorite snacks! When we visited, we got to try the bread bajji and milaga bajji — the bondas were already sold out! The chutney they served alongside was really tasty and satisfying, especially after we had already filled up on meals and spent some time roaming under the hot sun. ☀️ Definitely worth a visit if you're around Mylapore and looking for simple, tasty street food at a great price. Give it a try! 😋

If you are a street food lover, then it’s the place to go. They offer Snacks items in addition to Idli and Pongal. We just tried Urid dhal Vada, tasty, crispy outside, served with coconut chutney and groundnut chutney. Really a nice experience.

A class taste. It is a very small shop where they sell items through a window in s small alley. The taste was really good. Not at all oily. Well mannered. Cheap price.

Mylapore Jannal Kadai is an iconic little spot that proves great food doesn’t need a big setup. This tiny window stall serves some of the most addictive bajjis in Chennai — hot, crisp, flavorful, and freshly fried right in front of you. The chilli bajji and bondas are crowd favourites, and the chutney adds the perfect finishing touch. The charm of ordering through a small window, the aroma of fresh fritters, and the constant buzz of regulars make the experience feel wonderfully old-school. Prices are super affordable, the service is quick, and the taste is consistently top-notch. A classic Mylapore experience — simple, nostalgic, and absolutely delicious!

seriously questioning this food prep Steaming idlis in plastic? Doesn't seem very hygienic or safe to me |. This is harmful and unhygienic. I'd be worried about chemicals leaching into the food There are definitely better ways to steam idlis.

A old stall being there for very long, serves Bajji, vadai kind of snacks. * Street food. - Poor taste. - Quality of the food is worst. Similar to an ordinary ameture bajji shop. - Heavy rush due to the YouTube influencers. - Nothing positive.

If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, you must visit Jannal Kadai in Mylapore at Chennai! This typical small veg restaurant is a hidden gem that serves some of the best authentic and delicious vegetarian food in the city. One of the standout dishes at Jannal Kadai is their Ven Pongal, which is simply amazing. The texture and flavor are spot-on, and it's one of the most satisfying dishes you'll ever taste. The chutneys served with it are also fantastic and complement the Pongal perfectly. Another dish that is definitely worth trying is the Vada, which is very big and filling. It's made with the perfect balance of spices and flavors, and it's a great value for the money. Jannal Kadai's location near the famous Kapaleeshwar temple is also a major plus point. It's easy to visit this restaurant after a visit to the temple and grab a quick and delicious meal. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is prompt. Overall, Jannal Kadai is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a great vegetarian meal in Chennai. With its delicious food, affordable prices, and convenient location, it's a fantastic choice for a quick bite or a full meal. Highly recommended!

This one of the good kebab shops in Chennai but their taste is not consistent. Their beef tawa is the best. Chicken bbq is also tasty. Seek kebab of both chicken and beef not upto the mark, can be more tasty Roti is good They have very small place so eating there is not so good but if you want to eat then try eating there Price wise it’s little bit more Overall a decent place

A Cozy Evening Spot with Decent Eats We recently dined at this little gem, and while it's a small place, it offers good value for the price. It’s a standing-room-only joint, which adds to its charm if you're looking for a quick, casual meal. The menu has a variety of options, including beef, chicken, and more. We sampled the seekh omelette, malai kebab, seekh roll, tawa curry, and rumali roti. Each dish was satisfying—not extraordinary, but definitely enjoyable. Note: This spot is only open in the evenings. Thanks

After seeing reels Don’t have huge expectations, you will regret. Average taste and average in quality. I have tried almost most of the items from the menu, All are not so special you can consider this shop if you don’t have any alternatives. Taste wise normal but quantity wise great they will keep almost 110g chicken inside the tikka roll. Recommended to buy Achari chicken tikka roll Avoid Malai chicken tikka, it will look like tempting you but really there is no taste. Overall Experience: Quantity: 3.6/5 Quantity: 4.2/5 Taste: 4/5 Cost: 3.8/5 (Can reduce the cost little bit) Infrastructure: 3.3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Parking only available for 2-wheelers, No car parking available. Had some kebab cravings so tried this place. Food was decent tried their combo tikka &chicken fry with their soft rumali rotis. Taste was nice but nothing like very special, service was quick and good, chicken fry was a tawa gravy kind, it was very salty. After having the food thirst was like killing me.

Great place for tasty and juicy kababs at good prices. Been visiting this place for years and can say their taste, quality and happy service has remained the same! My all time favourite- combo chicken tikka, malai tikka, chicken and veal omlette, beef murthaba and fresh romali bread. Highly recommended to eat it immediately there or in your vehicle, so as to enjoy its flavour as it’s hot. All the dishes are made to order, freshly grilled and no colours used.

I've been there twice and loved the freshness of the meat and the overall taste. However, I found their best-seller, the Special Malai Tikka, quite bland for my taste. I did enjoy their Achari Tikka and Tandoori, though. Their rolls are good as well. I wouldn't recommend it for a family dine-in as it has no seating or parking space. Overall, it's a good place to try an evening dose of tikkas and rolls.

Nestled in the heart of Chennai, The Noodle Theory is a delightful haven for those seeking authentic Pan-Asian cuisine with a vegetarian twist. This charming restaurant exudes a warm and laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind while savoring an array of dishes that celebrate Japanese culinary traditions. With its unique illustrated menu, diners can enjoy the fun experience of crossing off their selections as they explore various noodle options alongside dumplings and other Asian specialties.
One of the best foods I have had in the recent times. Worth the price. Be it the drink or the main, they just hit it on spot. I sincerely hope they maintain the same taste, service and quality for a long long time. One small thing personally is I would have loved if they had provided some more of those tasty bowl and were a little more generous with the veggies. A must try.

I recently dined at The Noodle Theory in Kilpauk and had a delightful experience. Specializing in vegetarian Pan Asian cuisine, the restaurant offers a diverse menu with live kitchen views. The ambiance is modern and inviting, enhancing the dining experience. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy lotus stem, a signature dish that was both flavorful and satisfying. The chilli paneer stood out with its perfect blend of spice and tanginess. Service was prompt, and the staff was courteous, contributing to a pleasant visit. For those seeking authentic vegetarian Pan Asian flavors in Chennai, The Noodle Theory is a must-visit.

Hey there! I’ve been a regular here before, and this time, I decided to give the make-your-own wok a try. I loved the idea of customising it and ticking all the boxes while ordering. At first, it was a bit too salty, but they made it better for me. The green mojito was okay, but the brownie was absolutely delicious! I could have easily eaten two or three more. The service was super quick and friendly. The place is clean and hygienic, and you can see right through the kitchen. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, but it’s just right. I’ll definitely be back!

Visited this place on 25 Oct Taste: I would say average, ordered Bao , Dumblings and Make your own noodles. Bao and Dumplings are good and noodle was so bad we couldn’t complete. Quantity is relatively less for the price. Service: Pricing is on higher side, dishes don’t feel value for the cost it has. Area is self served, No free drinking water served. Ambience is neat and clean. Cooking place was displayed transparent and it was pretty neat. One time Eatable 👍🏻

I go to noodle theory a lot, and absolutely adore the food and ambience! I love their tempura sushi and their playlist is amazing!! i come here all the time with my friends and family, and it’s truly a great place- but a recent encounter urged me to write this review. recently, i went to noodle theory on a very crowded night, and there was a long queue so we waited outside after adding our name to the waitlist to be seated. Outside, there were 2 girls in front of us, and a family behind us. once the 2 girls had been seated, we went inside to check if our turn had come- since no one had come to update us for the past 10-15 minutes. we saw an empty table, and thus sat down as we assumed it was our turn after the 2 girls. Unfortunately, a few minutes later we hear the owner yelling at us from across the room to get up, he said and I quote that ‘I will not serve your table’ as he had not seated us. Now while I agree that we should’ve waited to be seated, the mode of communication was very impolite and I think that the staff should’ve approached us personally and explained the situation. They then proceeded to make us get up and give our table to the family who came after us. I do agree that we should’ve waited to be seated, but the owner yelling at us from across the room in that way was very impolite and not the way he should’ve treated us, whether or not we waited to be seated- and this could’ve been handled more efficiently in a diplomatic way, keeping customer service in mind. It was sad to see this happen because I truly adore the food and this place overall- definitely one of my favourites; but service should be better.

Vegetarian Dim Sum The vegetarian dim sum at Noodle Theory was a delightful treat. Each piece was beautifully crafted, offering a variety of vibrant colors and flavors. The fillings were fresh and flavorful, and the accompanying sauces added an extra layer of taste that complemented the dim sum perfectly. The presentation was impressive, making it a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Spicy Paneer Dish The spicy paneer dish was equally satisfying. The paneer cubes were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The dish was well-seasoned, with a spicy and tangy sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The addition of fresh vegetables and garnishes added a nice crunch and freshness to the dish. Overall, both dishes were delicious and showcased the culinary skills and attention to detail at Noodle Theory.

I ordered lotus stem in my noodles, and was initially told it would be added. However, when my order arrived, the lotus stem was missing. On confronting the staff, I was informed that lotus stem was out of stock. No reduction in price or any compensation was offered, and I was told nothing could be done about it. This was disappointing and reflects poorly on the service. Despite this, I must say the food itself is excellent. I hope the service is improved to match the quality of the food, because it's otherwise a standout experience.

Murugan Idli truly captures the authentic taste of a traditional South Indian breakfast spread. The podi idli was outstanding, perfectly spiced and flavorful, while the paneer uthappam was soft and delicious. I especially appreciated the variety of four chutneys – each one unique and absolutely marvelous. The sambar idli was pure heaven, and the tea was decent to round off the meal. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and authenticity of the food. A must-visit for anyone craving real South Indian flavors!

Do try their karuveppila podi idli, garlic podi idli & onion podi uthappam. The sambar & chutneys were fantastic, heaven on earth for chutney lovers. For some reason they don't list the garlic podi & karuveppilai podi idlis on their menu, saw a photo of it on someone else's review and asked if it was available and then ordered it, maybe it's famous enough to not even have to be printed on the menu. 100% recommended 👌

I visited this place on recommendation and its worth. The snacks the you get here is authentic..You get a feel like you are somewhere in a circle surrounded by brahmins. It's a very small outlet where they have 3 side wall mounted table. It can accompany maximum of 10 persons. Taste- I would give 4/5 I had different types of Bajjis, Masala bread bajji was the best out of all. Vaazha ilai kolukattai is just perfect as I expect, less outer layer Maavu(I don't know how you call in English), and correct level of stuff inside. Not too sweet. Coffee was okay as triplicane is famous for filter coffees.so no wonder. Pricing- Every bajji starts with 12Rs.which seems to be a bit high for each dish. Masala bread bajji costs 25Rs which us worth for the food we get. So 3/5 Parking is bugh headache here.We hardly get 2 wheeler parking as the outlet is always crowded. If you are traveling by car ,then be ready to walk a mile or don't visit.Bcoz the outlet is located in a congested street.

This place is super crowded always so much so that they have a token system always and they also serve juice to the people who wait. Ambience is very nice and good. I started with their ghee Pudi Dosa. Thin and crispy. Their variety of chutney is very thick and nice. Totally loved it. South Veg meals came with rice , papad , 2-3 veggies , sambar which was crazy and nice and some kheer. They also served a palak poori which was good. The north indian meals are considered more famous. Ended with their Geetham Special Falooda which was very good filled with nuts , figs and a lot of dry fruits but it's definitely not worth 360 bucks !!! Fine for a one time visit as I felt the place is over hyped and way tooo expensive.

I went to Geethan Veg Restaurant in T. Nagar for lunch and it was quite busy, so there was a waiting queue. They’ve introduced a new system where you scan a QR code to join the queue — it worked smoothly and was quite convenient. Once I got in, it was a bit crowded and I couldn’t immediately find my table number shown on the screen, but I managed to settle in after a few minutes. A staff member came over about 5 minutes later. I asked for “variety rice,” and he said only “lunch” was available — which I later realized meant meals. He then asked if I wanted South Indian or Executive meals. I chose Executive, though he didn’t really explain the difference. The food arrived fairly quickly and tasted really good — simple, well-balanced, and flavorful. The service was attentive; the waiter checked in often and made sure I had everything I needed. Even the water service was excellent. At the end, they served mouth freshener at the table, which was a nice touch. The total came to ₹221 for the South Indian Executive Meals, which I felt was worth it for the quality and experience. Overall, good food, decent service, and a neat new queue system — just wish the staff gave a bit more clarity on menu options.

Review: Morgan Idli Shop – A Must-Visit in Chennai If you’re in Chennai, Morgan Idli Shop is an experience you shouldn’t miss. The authentic South Indian flavors, served on a banana leaf, make for a truly traditional meal. What’s Good: ✅ Authentic Experience – The banana leaf presentation adds to the charm. ✅ Variety of Chutneys – You start with their signature chutneys before choosing your order. ✅ Must-Try Dishes – Podi Idli and Medu Vadai are perfect if you’re short on time. ✅ Fresh & Flavorsome – Everything is served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. What Could Be Better: ❌ Crowded at Peak Hours – Be prepared for a wait, but it’s worth it. ❌ Limited Seating – Finding a spot can be tricky, especially during rush hours. Final Verdict: Morgan Idli Shop is one of the best places for authentic South Indian food in Chennai. If you’re a fan of idlis and vadas, this is an unmissable stop.

Many of their other offerings are equally satisfying, and the variety of chutneys is unmatched, adding depth to every meal. A dependable spot for a quick, flavorful breakfast.

National Durbar Restaurant, a historic establishment dating back to 1955, is renowned for its delectable Muslim-influenced Indian cuisine. Managed by Nazir Ahmed and his brothers, this eatery offers an array of tantalizing dishes such as chicken and mutton biriyani, parotta with mutton chops, and mutton paya. Situated in a prime location opposite Greater Chennai, the restaurant is known for its reasonable prices and bustling atmosphere.
It's one of the classic old BOMBAY style restaurant. Ambience is not premium but surely classic and nostalgic too. Very old restaurant being there for ages.
Amin K — Google review
I had the chicken biriyani here and it was good and tasty. The place was quite crowded, but the service was surprisingly fast. It actually turned out better than I expected based on the Google reviews. Even the tea was great definitely worth mentioning!

I visited this restaurant for breakfast. I had a couple of Ghee Dosas which were relatively reasonably priced. They didn't taste amazing but were fine for the price. I am interested in trying out the non-vegetarian items but not sure if I will get a chance to do so.
G N — Google review
Over all good experience. Located very near to central station. Looks very old and traditional style hotel. Not much of crowd by 12 clock noon. Food were good. Felt no artificial flavors added. Has both veg and non veg foods. Even bakery items available. I think falooda is very famous over here

Accidentally had a chance to visit here so called oldest restaurant in Chennai for a dinner. Ordered their briyani and Parotta, taste was decent with sufficient split of meet and rice portion along with a egg,but the parotta was little dry could be little fluffy. The ambiance suits for the name with properly maintained old building and for it's crowd.it was crowded on that dinner time but service was quite surprised with fast and neet.overall can try once for their briyani and Some other non veg stuffs.

Very bad, Just don't waste your time, money here You'll regret it. If you ask for mutton biryani even if its empty they offer you chicken kushka and left over two mutton pieces - onion raita is spoiled they offer you that i dont know how they run this hotel

The cafe boasts a large bookshelf and occasionally hosts literary events. It is known for its delicious Cafe Mocha, Iced Filter Coffee, Iced Americano, Sweet Potato Chips, and Cajun Spiced Potato Wedges.
This place is a fantastic spot with a cozy ambiance that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. The food, especially their Flammkuchen and shakes, are a delightful experience that is well worth the visit.

The cafe is located on a main road and has a very good view from the cafe. The location is spacious and has a wonderful library for reading enthusiasts. The environment is very vibrant and the staff very jovial and helpful. The food is awesome. You get to enjoy a wide spread of menu and the sweets section is the best part about the cafe. The pizza has a very crispy and thin crust which makes it more enjoyable. Loved the place. However one of my orders was delayed quite a bit and required several reminders. One of the places I would love to visit oftenly.

If you find yourself in Sowcarpet, make sure to visit Seena Bhai Tiffin Center for a taste of delicious South Indian street food. This popular spot offers a variety of vegetarian delights such as uttapam, idli, podi idli, and dosa. The uthappams are particularly noteworthy for being generously loaded with pure ghee and flavorful podi. Despite its simple setup, the stall is known for its clean and quick service at very affordable prices.
Excellent uttapam 2 pieces for Rs.70. If you are lucky you will get in about 10 mins, else you will see min 20 with empty plates waiting. Ghee is poured and infused in uttapam ... tasting most delucious. Podi mini idly also excellent at same price. Should definitely try it !!!

Good place for a snack near Mint street. Green chutney is very good. Their podi uthappam is very good and filling.

There is no space to sit and eat, it's like a street food shop with a big crowd of fans. But once u eat from here, surely will come again the next time, that much tasty food. Don't think about the cleanliness and hygiene etc. just eat and enjoy the food 😋 They will deliver very fastly for a crowd of people, their chutney is very unique. Having podi uthappam/podi idly with that chutney is like mouth watering. Everyone should try once from here it's my request 🙂

Located on busy streets of Sowcarpet. No place to take your 4 wheeler. 2 wheeler will be ok-ish. Parking will be another challenge. Only two menu : Podi Uthappam and Podi Idly. Open kitchen and should eat in streets only. No table or any hygeine over the place.

Mini Podi and plain idly, unbelievably delicious mint chutney and onion chutney, hot sizzling small sized Podi uthappam soaked in ghee. Street food, starts from 5.45 pm to 11.30 pm in the night. Always crowded and still you will be well attended.
Jayashree A — Google review
Ghee uthappam and podi idly are the only two items in the menu yet those are unqiue and the shop is famous . Mini Idli tossed in podi and ghee, ghe uthappam with tomato chutney and green chutney. Try both. Per plate costs 60 and worth it . The aroma of ghee around their place 😋 will visit again and again. Could add sambar to the menu.

Seena Bhai Tiffin Centre is a true street food gem! The podi idly and cheese dosa are absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor. Flower Drum is a vegetarian restaurant that offers a wide variety of delicious Chinese and Thai dishes in an elegant setting. It has successfully challenged the notion that Asian cuisine is only for non-vegetarian diners. While its first outlet opened over a decade ago, the newer and larger location in South Chennai has become more popular. The restaurant's extensive menu features authentic Chinese and Thai specialties, making it a great choice for those craving classic flavors with a vegetarian twist.
A unique experience into Asian food. It's 100% vegetarian and delicious! You enter into a calm space with comfortable seating and soft music. Seating hosts and servers were always helpful! Menu has a good variety with detailed explanations and servers also help you get what you are interested in. Price is decent, not very expensive if you are in a group. A few dishes are must haves. Crackling spinach being one of them! It's crisp spinach tossed with sesame seeds. Their sweet and spicy lotus stem is absolutely amazing! They have added a small but good selection of fresh juices and desserts worth a try. All in all, a good few hours were spent exploring their menu! Can't wait to go back for more...
Shree R — Google review
The crispy lotus stem, assorted dimsum platter, thai green curry and chilly Schezwan noodles were good. Orange tango was ok like normal orange juice and mango tango was excellent and I loved it. Portion size is more considering the price and it was more than sufficient for 3 person. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was ok.
Praveen K — Google review
The vibe at Flower Drum, Egmore was just okay — nothing too special or memorable. However, the food was surprisingly decent and made up for the average ambience. Good enough for a casual meal, but not something I’d go out of the way for.

Food was amazing and authentic !! Loved the lotus flower dish (went mainly for that only :P) Soups were also good and quantity was abundant too! The place was quite big and the only issue was the people who were around us making quite an huge amount of noise and was running the ambience :/ Also the place looks really fishy from outside bcos of poorly maintained building, but the restaurant was maintained clean and tidy. While the menu mainly offers noodle varieties, the chow mein is highly recommended, especially when paired with their spicy chutney. The steamed momos are a must-try, but some caution against the oily fried momos. Service is quick, and the food is served hot from the pan to your table.
Limited options, Authentic flavourful Momo’s are served here! Value for money !!!! We enjoyed the little we spent out here

I came across this place near velachery and wanted to try it. so went to the besant nagar branch over the weekend. it's a nice and a small street style kinda shop, very limited menu and amazing taste. I loved the schezwan chutney they gave with the momos. Ordered a chowmein and a thukpa, and I became a big fan of their chutney and chowmein. Super fast service and good food. Not too spicy, the right amount of spices and worth the money.
Shobha K — Google review
I really liked the food when I first tried the Navalur branch, but it is closed now. So I went to the Besant Nagar branch today, and the taste is the same. I tried vegetarian only and the taste is very good to satisfy your cravings. The menu has limited options but all are good. I would recommend trying Veg Chowmin as a must. Veg Chowmin - 5/5 Veg Thukpa- 4/5 Veg momos- 4/5 However it's not authentic taste..but it' good option to try in Chennai. The taste is good.

absolutely delicious—flavorful, filling. Overall, I'd highly recommend it for veg and non veg chow mein and steam momo.

We tried their veg thukpa (soupy noodles which is mildly spicy and will warm your throat), veg mokthuk (also soupy noodles with 3 to 4 momos in it, the momos enhance the overall taste of the dish), chow mein (satisfies your spicy cravings) and veg fried momos. Taste wise all good and reasonably priced. Ambience not bad with max 30 seatings I believe. Service was quick. Overall a good spot, recommended 💯
Bhargavi — Google review
Such a nice spot with good lighting! The momos, mokthuk and thukpa were excellent, especially with the chutney they provide you can adjust the spicy level. They serve a limited menu but the taste of each is out of the world. Their prawn filling in momo was amazing, fresh and full of flavour. The mokthuk was unique in its own, the in it soup had a mild flavour which made it much more awesome and finally dhangthuk was on different level and the portions they served were really filling and worth the money. Do give it a try and it will become your favourite place to visit often 🙂. Just try not to visit their kk nagar branch(it was really a horrible experience).
Wasi A — Google review
I tried their new branch in 100 feet road (on velachery railways station to Thillai Ganga nagar subway road). For a plate of Rs.105 veg and corn spinach momos steamed packing charges was Rs.20 I found it to be little high because it was an ordinary aluminum foil box . Their momos chutney was out of the world spicy/hot they can bring down the spicy level toooo much spicy not good for health. Momos weren't peppy hot .Also their spinach corn momos top part was very dry this would happen when the momos is steamed with proper water or mosit content . Also left fir a very long time without steaming. Actually momos tasted good , it was not peppy hot and packing charge is high for the container they provide . Also the veggies momo steamed out of 6 ... 2 were torn . Please find the pics for your reference . Hope the outlet manager takes as a constructive feedback and improve the quality and takes the feedback positively

This is the second time I went to Bengali Fun Foods and like the first time wasn't disappointed. It provides authentic home cooked items of Bengali cuisine. To top it all, the prices of the various items is pocket friendly and the service is provided with love and care. If you happen to be in perngudi, visiting Bengali Fun Foods is a must.

I had chicken kosha with luchi and really liked it. The flavors are authentic Bengali, though the mishti doi was not that good. Had prawn malaikari here. Tasted the same tastes from back home, but the prawn gills needed to be cleared better. Others had pulao and kosha mangsho which too was terrific. The bhetki inside fish fingers were fresh too...so all in all had a decent experience. Will go again to try something else.

Pizzas and pasta are great. We had veg options. Madras curry pasta was unique and tasty. This is the first time I had this dish in my life. Ambience is good. It’s near to my house. Good cafe in the neighbourhood. Must visit place

Have been a frequent visitor to writer’s cafe and would continue to visit it. For my most recent visit, we tried: Soup of the day : A very nice cream of chicken soup to start with. The Original Pizza: I’m not a really big fan of pizza but I love this one. The flat bread and slight sweetness has a really unique thing to it. This is my go to dish whenever I come to this place. 4 Cheese Pizza : Ordered this because one of friends wanted a veg pizza and it was just ok. Bang bang wings : it was again a good one but we felt the wings itself a little too tiny. But it’s a good one and tried if you like wings. Veg nachos : I liked it as I have not tried much nachos. Cheesy chicken bowl: it was really good and recommended. The bread that you get with it can be improved though. White sauce pasta: Typical white sauce pasta, I’m not a big fan of it and didn’t like it much. Apple crumble pie: not the best apple crumble, but still decent-good one. Korean cheese bun: didn’t like it much. Honey cake: it was pretty decent. I usually love their ice creams but it was out of stock due to some refrigeration issues. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for some affordable cafes and the food is also good to come back.
Aswin K — Google review
Went here with my friends. One of them had already visited the Taramani branch and insisted we try this one. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our expectations — it was quite bland. Most of their “must-try” dishes are honestly not worth the hype, so I’d suggest ordering whatever you feel like instead of going by recommendations. I’m not sure if this is their usual quality or if it was just an off day. We ordered a Madras Chicken BBQ pizza, but they delivered something else by mistake. We went ahead and had it, and later they brought us the correct order. They were kind enough not to charge us for the mix-up, which we appreciated.

A cozy café with warm, bookish interiors, ideal for reading or casual conversations. The coffee is quite good, and the snacks are decent. The calm ambiance makes it a nice hangout spot, but parking can be a hassle as it’s located on the busy main road with limited space nearby.
Vidya H — Google review
I’ve been a loyal patron of Writer’s Café for over a decade, visiting all their branches from the one near Sathyam Theatre to Taramani, Adyar, and Egmore. Of these, the Taramani branch has always been my favorite. The latest branch(Adyar) I visited may not be as spacious, but it more than makes up for it with excellent service, attentive staff, and consistently great food. Their cheesy delights stand out, especially the signature cheese cigars with that perfect gooey pull. The pizzas are top-notch; we tried the Loaded Cheese and the Kashmiri Chilli Sauce variant, both of which were outstanding. For drinks, the Cranberry, Peach, and Berry Iced Teas were refreshing, while the hot chocolate remains a classic comfort. The pastas are easily among the best in town, both the pesto and white sauce varieties are rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We also sampled the fish skewers and smoky house barbecue chicken wings, which were decent additions to the spread. The meal ended on a sweet high with their chocolate fudge brownie served in an ice cream cone, absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience marked by warm service, flavorful dishes, and that signature Writer’s Café charm that keeps me coming back.

Great cafe located in the heart of Kasturba Nagar Adyar. Nice ambience, cosy interiors - great baked goods and pastries ready to eat/take away. Menu is also great , although we did not like the taste of the dishes- fish/chips was bland, but the fries and the burgers we ordered were okay - hot chocolate & coffee was decent. The service staff for the dine-in wasnt great, it would be really great if you have staff who knows communicate better with the customer- atleast one language tamil/hindi/english considering the diverse crowd who comes in. There was mixup of dine in food and take away - that is not great at all. The dessert options displayed were top notch and tasted good too

Their Pani Puri is a must-try, with the perfect balance of spicy and tangy flavors, served with crispy puris that are sure to transport you back to the streets of Delhi. The Bhel Puri and Dahi Puri are other highlights, offering a delightful mix of crunchiness and freshness in every bite. While the prices might be slightly higher compared to typical street vendors, the hygiene and quality of ingredients make it worth every rupee. Maya Chats is particularly popular during evenings when locals and visitors gather for a quick bite after shopping in the busy Sowcarpet area. Overall, if you are in Chennai and looking for an authentic chaat experience, Maya Chats should be on your list. It’s a little piece of North Indian street food heaven in the heart of Chennai!
Chennai C — Google review
I recently visited Maya Chat, a cozy little corner shop tucked away in the north of Chennai, and it turned out to be a hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic North Indian street food. The menu may be simple, but every item packs a punch. They serve Mirchi Bajji, Dhokla, Kachori, Aloo Kachori, and Moong Dal Kachori—and each one exceeded expectations. The kachoris, in particular, stood out for their perfect balance of crispiness, flavor, and generous portion size. They’re not only delicious but also excellent value for money, making them the highlight of the visit. One thing you absolutely shouldn’t miss is their garlic sauce. It’s fiery, bold, and elevates every bite—though fair warning, it’s not for the faint-hearted when it comes to spice! Overall, Maya Chat is a small place with a big heart for flavor. If you’re nearby and craving authentic, homely North Indian snacks, this spot is well worth a visit.

One of the finest kachori I ever had 😍🌟👌

Best Kachori i ever had.. Not just in chennai but in India. They have a unique filling which makes the onion kachori just awesome. Also their mirchi vada is amazing. They make these kachori and vada for whole day and it keeps getting sold out. Their chutneys are really very tasty giving sweet and tangy taste. They even sweets and snacks like samosa.

Few places in Chennai you find authentic rajasthani kachori and sweets and maya chat is one among them, parking seem major issue so i decide to walk to this place, would give 5 star but infrastructure and shop cleanliness need to be improved
Vijay K — Google review
They've been at the same place for many years. One of the best places to have kachoris. Both sweet and savoury. I just loved their kachoris! Please make sure you try them when in sowcarpet. Also they serve other sweets too.... apart from kachoris!
Bala V — Google review
A must have if you are onion kachori lover, by the way samosa's are also good here..

Persian restaurant
Art cafe
Buffet restaurant
Shiraz Art Cafe, located in Neelangarai on the East Coast Road of Chennai, offers a diverse menu featuring Persian, Mediterranean, Lebanese, Parsi, and Continental dishes. The cafe's open-air seating provides a refreshing dining experience with cool sea breezes and stunning beach views.
The best part about the restaurant is their location. The restaurant is located on one of the lesser crowded and cleaner beaches. You can sit in the outdoors and listen to the waves while you have your meal, pretty calming. Food is great. I would recommend to go for the Iranian cuisine since that's their speciality, although they also offer other continental and Indian dishes. Guava Barley juice and Shiraz art tea is a must, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I like their hummus, though pita is more like chips, not bread. I have tried all of their veg Iranian dishes and they are absolutely delicious. So are the non veg ones. You can always ask the owners for their recommendation, they are very nice and always keen on suggesting the right thing for you.

Epic burger was good, Lasagna was also nice. Chicken burger was OK but the prices were on the higher side for everything. Nice ambience but it was very humid and hot last evening with fans and Ac not working or not sufficient. Seems like they are moving to a different location to provide a better ambience

Absolutely love the view and tea of this cafe. Ideal place to go in the evening and sit outdoors. The cool breeze of the sea and sound of waves splashing on the beach is soothing! The Shiraz special tea is really good - black tea with mint and lime. The food is also good. I’ve tried the starters like hummus, corn on toast and chicken bbq.

With a class indoor ambience and a pleasant outdoor seating, this place is worth a try. But if the food were more tastier and satisfied taste buds to a greater extent, this would have been a must visit place ... !!!

Looking for Authentic Persian food ? Go to this quaint lil restaurant in Neelangarai . Also, don't forget to order their extremely refreshing Shiraz tea & the persian ice cream. I wouldn't suggest the Baklava cake, esp if you're a baklava lover like me.

Went to this restaurant with high expectations. But not up to the mark. We ordered Chelo kabobs and could not finish it. The meat was raw. And the rice with it was promised to butter rice but there was no butter in that. If you have tried the Chelo Kabab in Peter Cat Kolkata you would be highly disappointed to taste the same in Shiraz Art Cafe. We ordered a chicken starter and another chicken dish... Both were bland hand again the meat was hard and half cooked. One 🌟 for food. Overall giving 3 🌟 for the ambiance and good country music. The restaurant is well decorated and you can spend a lot of time there without any disturbance. Presentation of food was nice. I wish it tasted the same.

Very tasty irani food ..good ambience ..on the beach. The owners a very friendly.. if you are a meat lover try chelo kabab with rice melts in the mouth ..golden fried prawns was delicious..please ask for lemon tea. Will visit again

A cozy place for a romantic lunch date. The place is filled during weekends and it's better to make a booking for table. Rates are above average and the quality and taste depends from dishes. Pastas and starters are personal preferences here.
