Nestled within the historic Many Glacier Hotel, the Ptarmigan Dining Hall is a captivating dining destination that beautifully marries stunning architecture with exquisite cuisine. After a day of exploring, guests are welcomed into an enchanting space adorned with a grand stone fireplace and intricate wood beams, all restored to highlight its rich history. While reservations aren't accepted, the wait is well worth it for those eager to indulge in dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients presented in a refined continental style.
Food taste amazing, service is excellent, atmosphere is superb! All 5 stars to this restaurant 🌟 Food is taste better than I expected. Both salad and braised bison short ribs are very tasty. We also got sherbet crisp with huckleberry ice cream. It’s not too sweet. We love it. We got table by the window. The view is stunning. Highly recommend! If you come to hiking around many glacier hotel, you should stop by it. It’s located inside the hotel.

For the price, it’s very okay. The food is fine. The duck wing appetizer was pretty good. The arugula salad? Average. The prime rib with horseradish? Solid. A little dry. Rare is closer to medium rare bc it was later in the day. Diced potatoes with steam charred veggies? Solid enough. Overall, good server. Food is 3 star based on flavor and for the price. Granted you are on a mountain in Glacier Park so you can’t expect amazing. I still enjoyed our meal and time.
Justin L — Google review
Please save your money to eat something else even just the pub next door where it serves sandwiches. the service was awful. I get they are seasonal but it's August and they are still not trained at this point that's a problem. our waitress has no idea what's in the menu and doesnt know what's prime rib i had to point it out on the menu to show her what i'm ordering. and for steaks, she didnt ask how to be cooked, until she is ready to walk away we told her how I want my steak to be cooked. The bison rib is way overcooked in the oven, it's almost like a jerky, super tough to eat and dry. worst bison ever. The prime rib served in a very pale color that ive never seen a beef that pale. and it's barely cooked , even the fat part is light pink that's undercooked. this place is only for a convenience of getting around in Many Glacier area especially during the construction, limited vehicle allowed inside. but the rooms are tiny and outdated. food are awful. worst money spent in the whole trip.

Had dinner here after our hike to Grinnel Glacier. We are vegetarian and had kale and tomato soup, pasta, potato leek mushroom ravioli, and cheesecake. Everything was delicious. We wanted to window seat so had to wait for ~20mins. Otherwise there was a wait of about 10mins for other seats. If you are very hungry and want food quickly the service may feel slow. But the place was very busy and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pulkit G — Google review
First table we were seated at, we could not see due to sun shining directly at us. Second table was better until ten minutes later and exactly the same. Windows were so dirty and coated in bird excrement that it made the sun reflection worse. When you looked up, the cobwebs all over the pergola and support beans set the stage for the poor food and even worse service. Ugh. Do. Not. Eat. Here! The trout pate tastes like a poor man's tuna fish, the duck wings taste like overcooked chicken wing, dry and meatless.. The Pasta prima Vera I cannot speak to, since they filled my order incorrectly with arugula salad and the waiter did not have the courage to come address the issue after it was pointed out to the server. The manager could not have cared less. Some how he thought if he credited the meal and brought it out in a to go box with plastic silverware, after everyone else in our group had finished their meals, that would make it OK. Yeah, no. After hiking 12 miles and just wanting to have something to eat, that is what you get for service and food?, you are much better off, bringing a cooler and your own food!!! Or perhaps foraging in the gift shop. Do not spend your hard earned money at this restaurant. I guarantee you will be disappointed.
Susan W — Google review
Not so many options on the menu. Small portions with high price, especially the appetizer. The food tastes okay, but not very impressive. We added a steak for our pasta, but it was like $15 and very small and overly grilled with burnt smell. Also, there are lots of empty tables, but we still have to wait for half an hour.
Chin-Hsuan C — Google review
We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the dining room. Fine dining with a beautiful view! Considering where you are had to give 5 stars. Service was quick being a buffet. No line to get seated, easy to get a window seat due to large room and lots of windows. Food was excellent yogurt&oatmeal had very healthy fixings to add. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, CRISPY bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast, muffins , pastry, toast. Lots of fresh fruits and berries. $21pp. Fair price point. Staff friendly and provide great service. Plenty of seating. Food was covered and didn’t want to open all the chaffing servers for pics.
Kimberly M — Google review
We got the house salad, lentil burger, and pasta dish they had. Very happy with all the vegan options they had. The food was surprisingly good and would definitely come back here. Got a huckleberry Marg from here as well which didn’t quite taste like a margarita because there was no tequila but was still good

Nell's, situated at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn and named after George Bird Grinnell, a key figure in Glacier National Park's history, offers a menu featuring casual American cuisine and pizza. The restaurant caters to various tastes with its breakfast, lunch, and dinner options available from 6 am to 9 pm. Recently renovated to cater to hungry hikers and campers seeking quick meals or takeout for their outdoor adventures.
One of the best burgers in the park. The portion of fries was great after a 10 mile hike! The breakfast sandwiches were also great. Everything here was reasonably priced and tasted great!
Anna B — Google review
Considering you are inside a National Park, the food is not bad. I’ve been in other National Parks where the food was much less desirable. The service is friendly(95%seasonal college kids). Was there for 5 days for area’s hiking. The best of the menu was the Breakfast wrap, Caesar’s salad/chicken and their Beef burgers. The bison burger was lean and too dry. Their trout BLT gave me an upset stomach.
Emi C — Google review
The grilled cheese that was expensive had one slice of cheese on it. The fries were hard and cold. The watermelon looked good but wasn’t sweet and had some herb on it that was bitter. The guy taking our order was kind though.
Ashley C — Google review
You're definitely better off eating here than up the street at Many Glacier Hotel. At least most of the food here is tasty and fairly reasonably priced, unlike the Hotel.
Jennifer P — Google review
Nell’s was very nice to have after a long day of hiking! The line forms early so be mindful when you go. I know there are not many options inside the park so it’s nice to have Nell’s as a quick place to get food. The quality is eh but there’s not many options. The prices here are VERY good. Around $9 for a sandwich or any entree for being that remote is such a good deal.
Matthew P — Google review
Decent food at a premium price, but it’s your best option if your staying near the campground. Staff was lovely!
Patrik O — Google review
Pizza and chicken fingers were excellent. Beer was great too. The cashier taking my order was extremely friendly. Packed out my leftover pizza which was a nice treat in the backcountry. This was an oasis for a thru hiker.

Mexican restaurant
Latin American restaurant
Nestled in the heart of East Glacier, Serranos Mexican Restaurant has been a beloved staple since its inception in 1990. This family-owned gem offers a delightful escape into the world of authentic Mexican cuisine amidst Montana's stunning landscapes. While it once expanded to several towns, Serranos now focuses on delivering quality dining at this single location, ensuring that every dish is crafted with care.
Great tasty Mexican restaurant in Montana! Honestly didn't go with a lot of expectations but the food is really good. Chips have seasoning. Mangonada was refreshing after the hikes. Chile Puerco meat was tender and very delicious sauce. Definitely recommend ordering it. Costs are a bit steep but the food is great.
Shanmukh S — Google review
The food was fantastic. The service was great. Proximity to the Glacier Park Hotel is great. I’m am very impressed with everything they have to offer. Even though it was crowded due to the hotel restaurant being closed they accommodated everyone in a great way and kept the food coming. You would not expect such great Mexican food here in Montana, but I can assure you it was very good and some of the best meals we had while in Montana.
Shawn S — Google review
Innovative Mexican Food, Montana style or maybe, glacier national park style. Anyhow I had the "Grilled Vegetable and Jack Cheese Enchilada Plate". It was very tasty, except I would have preferred a bit more vegetables. But then I'm a vegetarian. Our server was awesome and very friendly. We chatted with her about life in East Glacier Park and in the Blackfeet reservation.
Steve T — Google review
The staff is really friendly and nice. I told them I had a gluten allergy and they were knowledgeable about shared fryers and options I could eat. Their chips are in a shared fryer. There are not many places to eat in this town and I can take a chance on cross contamination if I have to. It was nice to have a different food option after being very limited and already eating at every other possible place in town. They do close for the season on Sept 30th.
Samantha H — Google review
The food there was extraordinary good. I got the carnia asada and it was very good. My family enjoyed the food that they got. We recommend this place for people looking for good Mexican food.
Bosley W — Google review
We did not have high expectations. We just needed somewhere to eat for dinner. We were blown away! My family loves Mexican and we can tend to be picky. This food was it's own. High compliments and praise👏. My dad ordered the burrito and my mom and I had the Mexican salad. We thought prices were a little high until the food came. The portions are huge! So you get your money's worth plus it's oh so good!
Janay B — Google review
We ate there last June and the Chile Relleno was the worst I’ve ever seen. It was the size of a jalapeño (see picture and size comparison to a fork) and no cheese, filled with oil. I had them take it back!
Aida L — Google review
I enjoyed my food and my mother enjoyed her food. I got the Chile relleno for an appetizer. It was good. Better than a lot of other's I've had. I then got three tacos ordered individually. The three I got were the shedded beef, chicken thighs, and spicy steak. Good flavor, kind of fell apart but it's a corn tortilla so that happens. I had some of my mom's black beans and street corn. Street corn was good. The black beans were pretty straight forward. Good food but it isn't inexpensive. $6.50 for a taco and $11.50 for a Chile Relleno is on the higher end compared to similar restaurants.

Restaurant
Nestled in East Glacier, Two Medicine Grill is a quintessential American diner that beckons visitors of Glacier National Park with its hearty meals and delightful atmosphere. Opening bright and early at 6:30 a.m., it’s the perfect pit stop for adventurers gearing up for a day of exploration. Known for its generous portions and friendly service, this charming eatery offers an array of comfort food that satisfies even the hungriest hikers after a long day outdoors.
If you're staying at Glacier Park Lodge or in East Glacier area, you're in luck – Two Medicine Grill is just a short, easy walk away. This charming mom-and-pop diner is an absolute gem, serving up some of the best breakfast you'll find in East Glacier at prices and portions that are truly unbeatable. We tried their pancakes and omelets, and both were absolutely fantastic. And the portions are generous, ensuring you're well-fueled for a day of exploring Glacier NP without breaking the bank. Just a heads-up, this place is no secret! On weekends, it gets pretty crowded, and you should be prepared for at least an hour-long wait.
Jay N — Google review
Great stop on US Hwy 2. Just minutes from the historic Glacier Lodge and right in front of the train station. The place is authentically charming. We were seated immediately and our server was sweet and friendly. We got their pancake which was tender and delicious (and massive)! The pancake had a wonderful toasted and caramel-like smell which was DIVINE! We also had their cheese omelette with sausage and bacon, which was also good. I did love that the chef brings out the dishes as they are prepared. It just adds a lot of character to the whole operation.
Anahita K — Google review
Awesome small town diner feel and taste. We stopped by to grab a little meal to go to then go enjoy East Glacier. So happy that we did. Affordable, tasty, and definitely worth coming back. The locals seem to frequent this establishment and their biscuits and gravy was so tempting. Next time we will try to come for lunch or enjoy the biscuits for breakfast!
Maryroselol — Google review
We found this place by chance and absolutely loved this place. We ordered veggies burger, chicken strip burger, fish burger, onion rings and spicy cheesy fries. All tasted good, it came with lot of chips. The service was good. Loved the veggie burger and the fries the best. The vibe of the restaurant is so homely. Had a wait time of 20 mins and food prep took another 20 mins. However definitely recommend this place.
Amrita R — Google review
Kinda of a long wait but the waitress was very nice. Had the mushroom Swiss with onion rings. The onion rings were on point. Almost like a beer batter and cooked just right. The burger patty was probably a pre frozen patty but the burger was still good. The winner for the meal would have to be the chili. Chili was simple no cheese onions just crackers. This was something you know was made in kitchen. Should've had the bowl instead of a cup. Would definitely come back again.
Gary C — Google review
YOU WILL BE WAITING!!!! Place is always packed.... But it's for a reason! 2 people was running the whole show, and the food was hella good! Pancakes the size of your face! Hash brown was tasty too!
Deovandski J — Google review
This is a very rustic diner in an old western town just outside Glacier National Park. I ate breakfast there twice during my Park visit. Both times I ordered the special. Two huge eggs, two large strips of bacon and one huge pancake. $12.99 Everything cooked to perfection. Real maple syrup and plenty of softened butter. I would eat there 3 days a week if I lived near by and get the same meal.
Robert L — Google review
I do love the Two Medicine Grill and hope it never changes much. I have been coming here for almost 10 years and it was still great when I went two times last week. It’s not fancy or pretentious or super high priced. It’s good food and service done well. Best bacon and hash browns ever. Pies and pie selection isn’t quite what it once was and I know they have lost pie makers over the years and I know that’s tough. But I always check and try.

Restaurant
Glacier Grill & Pizza is an American restaurant with rustic and communal atmosphere. Their food is unforgettable, and their staff are always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is a must stop if you are travelling through Town, especially for their Huckelberry Pulled Pork Sandwich - which is phenomenally good. The peach pie with ice cream is also a great choice, and will definitely leave you wanting more!
After a day of exploring at Glacier National Park, saw this was a nice place to finish the day and have dinner. We ordered a Huckleberry BBQ Pork sandwich topped with bbq sauce and had some chips on the side. Then we also ordered a pizza as well. For a drink we tried the Huckleberry Cream Ale from Pondray Idaho. Overall nice place to finish the day!
Josh B — Google review
Great food and a wonderful staff. Had dinner here several times and it's always a good experience. Their broasted chicken is delicious and they have some great sauces to go around with it. I also really enjoyed their huckleberry peach pie! The pizzas are very popular and they have a good selection of drinks. The staff are attentive and helpful with local tips on exploring the area. Can't wait to return!
Mark G — Google review
This place is a surprise gem! We found it by accident after a day of adventuring on Going-to-the-Sun-Road. We hadn’t eaten all day, and found that a whole lot of food places around here are closed in the afternoon and only open back up for dinner. After much searching we found out Glacier Taphouse opens at four, so we decided to give it a chance. I’m very glad we did. I thought it was a bit pricey, but the portions were crazy large. I guarantee the sweet potato fries were the best I’ve ever eaten, fried pickles were fantastic, and our taco pizza was amazing (and huge). Also they serve Arnold Palmers right! I’m always willing to pay a little more for great food. A few things you need to know. The service is great, and the servers are very friendly and helpful. There is a slip that you fill out at the table to order. Then you take it up to them to order and they bring you food. Highly recommend. The only pictures I took were of the giant taco pizza and the Arnold Palmer.
Angie W — Google review
The fried pickles were excellent. So was the fried chicken! This place had the best huckleberry shake we had in all of our days' meals while we were visiting near and in Glacier. Top notch staff.
Jason C — Google review
This Restaurant is a must Stop if you are passing through Town. The Huckelberry Pulled Pork Sandwich was so very good. What a great combination of flavors. The Huckelberry Peach Pie with Ice Cream is out of this world. The Staff is very friendly and it shows that they are very focused on the Customer. They checked with ne several time how my Meal was. I did not want to sit at the Bar and I was told it would be 10 Minutes wait for a tabke. I was happy to wait. I think they saw that I am hungry and a minute later I got a nice table. :) They made my dinner very enjoyable. Thank you
Terence H — Google review
Not a bad little place at all, we ordered some pizza and a few other items to go. Everything was hot fresh very good. All in all I would say this is a great place if you’re in the area to stop in.
Josh B — Google review
The woman who seems to be the manager is running this place well! She is kind yet efficient, and the food is good! The broasted chicken was one of the most talked about menu items, but they run out quickly so best to get there by or before 6 if you want it, and they make it fresh so you have to allow ~20 min for them to make it. It’s super tasty though —flavorful and moist! One customer was even going to extend their vacation an extra day just to get a chance to try this item—I offered to give them a piece from my order so they could try it and they kindly paid for our whole meal in appreciation! Maybe that can let someone know the hype around broasted chicken here haha.
Briana B — Google review
The service was spectacular and everyone was extremely friendly. If you like crispy chicken you need to try their "Broasted Chicken", period end of story. It was amazingly crispy on the outside and so juicy and flavorful on the inside. I also went for their Huckleberry BBQ Pulled Pork Topped Hamburger that was a big surprise of flavor. The huckleberries pack a ton of tart and sweet flavor so I was a bit nervous it would be overwhelming on the sandwich, but it was a nice addition to a very savory burger.

Motel
Located in the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, Swiftcurrent Motor Inn offers a budget-friendly lodging option for travelers. Built in 1935 to cater to auto travelers and hikers, the property features simple motel-style rooms and rustic cabins with shared restrooms. Additionally, guests can enjoy a fully-stocked camp store, gift shop, and a restaurant serving delicious pizzas and sub sandwiches.
I elected to stay in a cabin so I could be right by the Ptarmigan Tunnel/Iceberg Lake trailhead after sunrise for a 15-mile day hike. It was very comfortable and the small bed was comfy, I slept like a baby! Perfect for what I wanted to accomplish before a long, magnificent hike. This is for cabins not the Inn. Has a sink but no private bathroom/shower and WiFi doesn’t exist except at the visitor center so keep in mind before booking. I knew all that and didn’t care, it worked out great! You don’t need to be plugged in out here, get out and enjoy the magnificent scenery as Many Glacier imo is the most beautiful section of Glacier National Park. And there are plenty of trailheads close by, ranging from easy to difficult. Wildlife galore. It was definitely worth the money and was beautiful, quiet, and comfortable for me. Highly recommended.
FFKDTP1 — Google review
Alas, the Swiftcurrent Inn/Many Glacier Hotel will be closing 16Sep2024 for major infrastructure repairs during 2025 and maybe into 2026. The road leading into Swiftcurrent/Many Glacier will also be repaved during this time. Though the trails in and around this area will still be accessible, check with the Visitors Center where to park and how the trailheads will be affected. This is the go to place for some of the best hikes in Glacier. Recommend the motel rooms w/private baths instead of the cabins. Rates in 2024….$275/night. Super friendly welcoming staff with the in house restaurant…. Nell’s which was surprisingly good for National Park food.
Emi C — Google review
The room was average, but the value for money was decent. Timing is crucial if you want to use the public bathrooms, but the shower was better than I expected, though there was a bit of a smell since it was shared. What surprised me was the restaurant. Honestly, I loved the food there, but for some reason the restaurant’s ratings are relatively low on Google. I had the burger with avocado and chicken or beef several times, and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
Joy C — Google review
Last taste of civilization. Warm showers. Potable Water. Decent breakfast burrito for where you are. Singles of cold beer available. Gift shop has some limited backpacking supplies with food and meal packs. We left our rental car in the parking lot for 7 days. Folks at the front desk let us store our keys in a lock box.
Talis L — Google review
Location location location! After spending time at Fish Creek Campground and St. Mary's campground in Glacier National Park, we stayed at this National Park Hotel our final two nights in Glacier. After experiencing driving to trail heads daily the location to all the Many Glacier hikes in this area cannot be beat! If you still want to cook your own meals, you also have the option of using the picnic area directly across the street so that's not an issue. We enjoyed breakfast at their cafe, and the food served was definitely value for money and tasty! Vegan and vegetarian options available to set you up for a day of big hikes. Staff was very friendly. Giving the rooms a rating of 3/5 stars as the room did not have many outlets (after six days camping we had a lot to charge) and there was only Wifi in the lobby. After 3PM you could forget about trying to use the lobby wifi at all as it was too many people. Could not get a podcast to download. They also have free ice and paid laundry facilities on site which was an added bonus. Hot water and great water pressure in the shower as well. I would definitely add a stay here on to your trip if you are tent camping most days. It's a nice little treat!

We are writing this review about the incredible 5 star service provided at this hotel. First if you are interested in seeing wildlife, this hotel is in a perfect location with many trails close by. The general store has a huge variety of snacks and souveniers at reasonable prices. While we did not stay at this hotel, we found the service provided by Kaitlyn and other staff to be absolutely amazing. We had spent several days looking to see wildlife and came up empty handed. We asked rangers, guides and locals. We understand that seeing wildlife is hit or miss. What was so remarkable about Kaitlyn is that she took out a map and gave us many locations to try. She was so pleasant and helpful about where to hike, where to eat etc that we were sorry we hadn't stayed at this hotel. To our delight after following Kaitlyn's valuable suggestions, we did safely see some memorable wildlife and went on several beautiful hikes. Even if you don't stay at this hotel, it's in an a picturesque location in Many Glaciers and well worth the drive.

Good food and fairly decent service for what it is. We’ve experienced similar rooms, food, and store managed by the same provider at the nation’s first national park and this experience was better. The rooms are spartan to say the least and the bed could be a lot better but we enjoyed the overnighter. Although they claim not to have public WiFi, it was good as long as you were inside the building.
J. W — Google review
We loved this place! The cabins are cozy and have a full bathroom and separate sink. They warm up quickly (temps in the 40-50’s while there) and include a box fan to help cover neighbor noises. They have a restaurant (good food and friendly staff), gift shop, and general store for supplies. And we saw a bear in the field beside the restaurant :)

Located just six miles west of St. Mary Visitors Center and a short stroll from St. Mary Lake, this inn provides convenient access to popular nearby trails like Sun Point Nature Trail and Virginia Falls Trail.
The Rising Sun is a charming trip back in time. Yes, it is an older style of cabin motel but has everything you need. The location inside the park, close to a variety of hiking trails is excellent. The staff was very helpful and consistently pleasant. Our room had everything we needed and was spotless. The on site restaurant had a variety of options and we enjoyed several meals there. There was a well stocked camp store. If we get to visit Glacier NP again, we will try to get rooms at the Rising Sun.

Delightfully casual mountain retreat in East Glacier National Park St Mary’s Lake area. Our motor inn room was cheerfully decorated with a Red Bus theme and very comfy with lots of bed pillows. Really enjoyed our Adirondack chairs on the porch for star gazing and wine sipping. Restaurant on site was good quality and essential. Two gift shops offer a wide selection of fun items plus supplies.

08-31-2025. We stayed at Rising Sun Motor Inn a lovely stay right inside the National Park! The wooden cabins have a beautiful view of the mountains right from the window. A few trails even start from the area, which is super convenient for hikers. You’ll find plenty of huckleberry bushes nearby, but remember, it’s bear country, so stay alert. The restaurant serves good food, and there’s a general store for essentials and souvenirs. Wifi is only available in the restaurant area, and there’s no phone signal in the cabins or most parts of the park, so make sure to download offline maps in advance. ⭐ Bonus tip: Try waking up early you might spot deer or even elk wandering near the cabins at sunrise! I hope you’ll like my review — I tried to give you a heads-up and a quick glimpse!

We stopped at Rising Sun for dinner and ate at Two Dog Flats Grill. We did not stay in the hotel or camp site. The restaurant is a little small, so it can fill up quickly. We had a ten minute wait at 5pm, but we were ahead of the dinner rush by 10-15 minutes. Great food options. My wife had a duck special (it was good!), my son had fish nuggets and a salad, I had a pulled pork sandwich (served with coleslaw on the bun, just like I enjoy!), and my daughter had a hamburger from the kids menu. Great view out the windows. Our waitress was fantastic. We had excellent service all night. My 7yo daughter was hangry, but the waitress talked with her and tried cheering her up every time she came to the table. A+++ waitress.

For a motor inn these rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately room service didn’t make our beds which was a bummer, especially for the steep $290/night price tag. Alas, a great spot on the east end of the park.

Stayed in a Cabin 7A and it was clean and cute but a bit small for the 4 of us with 2 double beds. I am not super tall 5,9 but I had not enough room for my legs…anyway it is what it is, a double bed and not a queen or kingsize. Not a big deal. The big deal was the super lourd noise coming from the hot water faucet…and we did not have enough hot water for the four of us to have a quick hot shower. All this aside, it was fun to sleep in this pretty yellow Cabin. We had neighbors in 7B and we were worried because of the thin wall separating the two units but they were quiet, so all good. It would have been good to have a fridge in the room but there was not a lot of space to put it. No AC but with windows open we were fine. We had dinner at the two dog flats very close to our cabin and the service was excellent (Thanks Paul) but the food was so so. We had ribs and they were dry and super hard. Normally baby back ribs will be juicy and tender and the meat will separate from the bones easily but the ones we had were stiff and it was very difficult to cut the meat from the bones…worst ribs I ever had. My wife had a trout fillet, supposedly local but it did not taste anything…One of us had a burger and it was good. Well overpriced but it is the price to pay to be in a national park… The next morning we had the breakfast buffet and it was good and the service as well. The only issue was the coffee that was awful…I am a coffee person and I had only one sip… To note that two cooks were playing super loud music while working during breakfast, not a big deal but it was weird to hear rap music while watching the great view of Glacier National Park! We chose this place to have a tour the next morning to do the Going to the sun road and it was overall a good experience. Less crowded than on the West side.

We had a magical time at Rising Sun Motor Inn. We were in spacious room number 7. Seth set us up in a large corner room with views in multiple directions. Seating is provided outside to check out scenery and wildlife. Seth also provides excellent advice on hiking in the area. He set us up for a great hike from Baring Falls to St Mary’s, and on the Virginia Falls. It was a fantastic hike with exuberant falls. Logan Pass trails and the Highline Trail are fantastic hikes closeby which we have done in the past under better weather conditions. Seth carefully clued us in on which trails would be perfect for us and ones which were not due to hazardous icy conditions. He was spot on! There is at least one trailhead on premises for an interesting hike with views. It is easy to walk from the lodging area to the general/gift store and restaurant. Prices are reasonable. The food was so good that when we moved on the Many Glacier Hotel, we went back there to have the Red Mole Pasta with trout one more time. The cook is marvelous. Lindsey, Anthony, and Lilianna and the other restaurant servers are more then friendly and knowledgeable. They make you feel like family. We can't recommend this facility enough. We have stayed there before and if we ever went back to Glacier, we would certainly stay there again.

This is our second trip to Glacier NP and we loved our three day stay in a cabin at Rising Sun. Experiencing Glacier NP from the East entrance was outstanding. We traveled from Rising Sun to East Glacier for a Red Bus tour. We went through a part of the Blackfoot Nation. The views were dramatic. We saw some wildlife (bears (2), horses, and deer. It was cloudy day 2 so we drove through the Blackfoot Agency to Great Falls to see the "wide Missouri" river. It was raining the last day as we left Rising Sun for Kalispell on the rock strewn and cloudy Going to the Sun road East to West. Fabulous trip, thank you.

Two Dog Flats Restaurant, located at Rising Sun Motor Inn & Cabins, offers a delightful dining experience with the option of sit-down meals or convenient box lunches for outdoor adventures. The restaurant boasts stunning views of Lake St. Mary and provides solid hot food for lunch or dinner. Visitors can enjoy a delicious breakfast with picturesque scenery and friendly service. The menu features delectable options like pancakes with cherries and the mouthwatering Mt Man BBQ, accompanied by refreshing huckleberry lemonade.
We stayed at rising sun and hand down this is the best restaurants on the east side of the park. We ate here all 3 night we were at the park. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich, pork belly burnt ends and huckleberry ice cream.

Great views and hearty portions if food. We had the big baked potato and barbecue sandwhich and both were great. The Huckleberry lemonade was also great. The wait staff were pleasant and provided good serve. The location also has a little gift shop. Provided a nice break from camp food.

A rewarding lunch after a long day of hiking. The fact that there is this place in the park serving hot food should be appreciated. The prices are reasonable and the food is good (nothing crazy but decent). Our server was very friendly. After ordering she let us know that they were out of their soup and we ended up ordering pulled pork sandwich instead. We also got a burger and cod nuggets. The cod was crispy, but I wish it was served with a tartar sauce. The burger was also good. We did absolutely love their fries, baked beans, and huckleberry pork sandwich. Great dining hall and fantastic draft beer selection too!

Nice restaurant and one of the very few restaurant's you can find in the National park. Food is good, only place in the rising sun stay where you can get wifi. No signal or wifi in the stay and also in the GNP. Prices are slightly a bit Higher.

Two Dog Flats was one of the best restaurants that tried while visiting GNP. It was perfect after a long day of hiking. The service was great, and the food was amazing. We actually had dinner here twice while we were in the park. The views from inside the dining area are beautiful which was a plus!

As someone who worked in a national park for a few years I have to say that this is the cleanest park establishment I have ever seen. The staff was very friendly and the food ok like I would have expected. Overall this is a good quick options if you are looking for a place to stop while visiting the park. They have a nice big viewing window that looks out over the surrounding area as well.

Really good food in the area! The pasta paired with chicken was amazing. The rice pilaf felt cold and dry, but rest of the food was great. Service was great as well.

Conveniently located within Glacier National Park on Going to the Sun Road on the east side of the park near Saint Mary Lake. Good food, but better views. Food coming out of the kitchen was inconsistent, but our server made it right, so no complaints here.

Nestled just outside Glacier National Park in East Glacier Park, Montana, the historic Glacier Park Lodge, also known as the Big Tree Lodge, boasts Swiss chalet-style architecture with towering Douglas Fir logs in its lobby. The lodge offers a range of accommodations including cozy rooms, spacious suites, and rustic cabins. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a 9-hole golf course, pool, restaurant, cafe and bar.
I was in awe, when I walked in. The massive vertical logs 🪵as support pillars were unbelievable. The antique chandeliers and light fixtures were great. I can't imagine what it took to build such a structure for that time period. Most of the rooms are quaint and for the most part, the bathrooms have been somewhat updated to accommodate modern bathrooms🛁. The restaurant has a decent menu for each meal. The staff in the restaurant are very nice. The views of the mountains🏔 are amazing from the back side of the lodge. Sunsets are amazing too. Visiting Glacier National Park was amazing. A truly beautiful experience!
Dean J — Google review
Hotel looks beautiful on the outside and in the lobby, but the positives end there. We knew we were booking a historic hotel without modern updates and amenities, but the quality of the rooms was terrible. I cannot believe we spent almost $500 for one night here and it was easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel. While I understand there is no AC or elevator, I was shocked by the lack of cleanliness and size of the bathrooms. They were tiny and extremely outdated. The worst part by far was the noise that you could hear in between rooms. We could hear detailed conversations from the guests on both sides of our walls. Both rooms woke up at 5 am and immediately started talking and using their phones extremely loudly. I could even hear the guest next to me use the bathroom…..multiple times…. It was impossible to sleep in that. The front desk staff was extremely kind, and the property itself was beautiful. There is hardly any town near by to even get a decent meal at. We should not have stayed here and wasted so much money on such a bad nights sleep.

We stayed at GPL last week and had an amazing time. The lodge is beautiful and walking distance to the train station. All the staff were helpful and friendly, food was great. The gardens were beautiful, and of course the setting is perfect. The room and the bed were comfortable, the only issue we had was with the size of the bathroom (not a lot of room), but we expect this with an older lodge. Everything was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

An absolute dump. An awful lot of money for not much. While an interesting property with great public spaces, I've stayed at Super8's that were three times as nice for 1/3 the price. It's about 1960 in the rooms. No TV, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker in rooms today reeks of cheap. But hey come to our coffee stand with $6 lattes and restaurant with $22 breakfast buffet. The bed at least is comfy and the pillows seem new. But you can't eat or sleep atmosphere and they are milking this place for all they can, and doing all they can to steer guests to their expensive food and beverages. The building is suffering from not-so-benign neglect, has no security, and entry doors flap in the breeze. Half expecting to greet a bear in the hall. Definitely did not expect to see a bat roosting outside my door. The place is a trip. Save your money, stay anywhere else, and come here for a drink before having dinner elsewhere over the expensive offerings here.
Andrew T — Google review
Unbelievably close to the train station. Very nice lobby. Great views. Wonderful garden and grounds. Nice gift shop. Great staff, especially the bell hops. No elevator so if you’re on the 3rd floor you can really appreciate the “bell-a-vator “. The place is remarkably upkeep with renovations as it is almost 100 years old. I am very glad we stayed here for our first visit to Glacier National Park.

This was our first time at the Glacier Park Lodge. First impression was very nice (and very old). Our room was nice but it had a step/down up to the bathroom. Not sure why but it could have a falling hazard for older folks or someone with mobility issues. We ate breakfast at the Empire Lounge. The buffet was $22 per person and was told they offered made-to-order omelets but there was no one at the station. The other eggs were dry and not very good. We ate other meals at the bar restaurant and it was good but pricey. The location of the lodge is far away from larger cities but we were picked up by two companies we had made arrangements with thru our travel agency. They showed up on time and we enjoyed our tours.

The historic lodge is across from Amtrak which is nice if you’re traveling by train. Love the lakes near there and hikes. The lady in gift shop was super knowledgeable and helpful. The lobby and outside are beautiful. The room however was super tired. The carpet was worn and did not seem clean. The bathroom was not great. The shower curtain was super stained. It needs an update and proper cleaning.

I’m writing this review because I had limited information when I booked the golf house through the lodge. I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations! 1. It is a good distance from the lodge itself. Walkable but most likely you will drive to go to the lodge. About 4 min drive north of the lodge in a residential area. 2. The area surrounding the entire east side of the park is very rural. Basic camp supply store with some restaurants/ food trucks mixed in but be cautious of hours they are open! The lodge has restaurants with limited menus and pricey but the food was good. 3. The golf house itself is a modular home that has been added too with limited updating. That being said it was completely clean and comfortable for what we needed. I’ll include some pictures, but don’t expect anything fancy. Also no air conditioning! They did have a lot of fans available. It is located near some hiking paths and right on the golf course which is busier than I would have expected. Two bedrooms with two double beds in each and two bathrooms that connect to each room. A full kitchen, living room and a nice big deck outside. 4. Overall the location was great to explore the east side of glacier when other accommodations are already booked! We drove about an hour to Many Glacier and to St Mary’s multiple days. It is perfect for families.

Cafe
Cattle Baron Supper Club is a family-owned bar and restaurant in Montana known for its sizzling steaks and seafood, accompanied by homemade side dishes. The 16 oz. Bobs ribeye is a must-try, marinated to perfection and served with potato and salad. The huckleberry vinaigrette adds a local touch to the dining experience.
Located on the east side of Glacier National Park, the Cattle Baron Supper Club is a hidden gem in an area with limited dining options. The ambience is truly amazing, offering a cozy, rustic feel that perfectly complements the stunning surroundings. The staff were incredibly courteous and attentive, making the dining experience all the more enjoyable. As for the food, I had the shrimp pasta and salmon—both dishes were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. If you're visiting Glacier National Park, this is a must-try spot for a memorable meal!
Kishan P — Google review
Unfortunately this establishment is a sorry excuse for a steak supper club. We had to wait more than an hour for our entrees to arrive. Once they did arrive two of the three steaks had to be returned to the kitchen as they weren’t cooked correctly. They still weren’t cooked correctly the second time. And, the baked potatoes were close to raw. The manager agreed that they weren’t cooked correctly and only offered a scoop of ice cream to “make it right”. This is a photo of my steak which was supposed to be medium rare, but was very rare. I couldn’t eat it.
Greg B — Google review
Total gem of a find for steaks. We got the rib eye with their sides of baked potato and vegetables. The steak had a nice smoke and char to it, and it was juicy right to the edges. Their house bread tasted like a Hawaiian roll, so light and slightly sweet and warm as it comes fresh out of the oven. Dinner salad was mediocre at best, and the shrimp scampi wasn’t good. Some of the pasta was cut up small while some of it was still long. It also had a sweet taste, which was strange. The shrimp were prepared well though. Off to sides, the vegetables had good flavor but very mushy, so I didn’t eat most of them. I loved the baked potato, it was done right, and I added some butter to it too. The molten lava cake was very dense, and not cake like at all, really couldn’t get past the first, two to three bites. We also added some ice cream too, which was basic at best. If you decide to come here, order the steak, this is what they do really well, and are known for. Service was great, and the place had a feel of a Native American log cabin.

3 hours no discount on food. 2 hours till food came out. Really expensive for terrible service. The menu looked awesome but when it comes out uncooked or burnt with no potatoes and you send your kids to the parking lot to play leapfrog for an hour while waiting without drink refills and you realize you should have just walked out but felt sorry for the employees, you know there are problems. The ribeyes were terrible and the meat tasted rancid. The chicken came out upside down and when turned over revealed the burnt to a crisp hard meat texture. Ran out of potatoes and served those 45 minutes later. Waitress asked if she could take our water pitcher to another table and we acquiesced. They did give us free soda for the kids when they came back after waiting 2 1/2 hours but that order wasn’t taken right as they shorted us. Oh and all shellfish had an extra fee of $22 that wasn’t on the menu. Tenderloin were said to be between 12-16 oz and they were around 8. The ribeyes were supposed to be 22-26oz and they were 14 oz of fat and sinew… AND bone in. Really surprised there wasn’t any management involved. Mandatory tip of 20%!! I expected good food and service. Came back to camp site and made a frozen burrito which was a 10/10! Never had a better microwaved meal in my life.
Micah S — Google review
The location of the restaurant is convenient and the decor is 5/5. The server was very kind, patient, and efficient. Overall a good establishment, I just felt it was a little overpriced. The calamari for $14 was not worth it. It did not taste fresh and they were very tiny pieces. Instant regret. The specialty ribeye steak was not too juicy, not too fresh but it was decent. My big thing, again is the price. The online pictures show that its 58, it was 67 dollars in the restaurant. In my opinion way over priced. I've had much better for much less. My steak had too many pieces of fat, which I could not eat. I didnt get the best piece, so it didn't feel like a specialty The highlight was the Huckleberry margarita I saw chunks of it in the drink and that was a treat, not too sweet, nice and cold. Overall probably wouldn't come back because of the price but I really like the decorations and attention to detail in the place.
Carlos J — Google review
Honestly, the food was excellent. The 16oz ribeye was plenty to share between two people, and it was cooked perfectly. The quality of the local meat is hard to beat. That said, fine dining is about more than just the food, it’s also the atmosphere and service that make it a complete experience. Since there aren’t many restaurant options in the area, offering a few more affordable dishes could make it more welcoming for tourists.
Lillian L — Google review
Had a great meal here on our way in to staying at the Many Glacier Hotel. Had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. The portion size was larger than expected. The value was great. We also got to enjoy some music as it was Monday night. Staff attentive and friendly.

Lamb rack is expensive but VERY tasty. Generous portion and supremely tender. I was impressed. However the plate was cold and it wasn’t properly ‘hot’. It was only warm. If they fixed that the whole experience would have been perfect. Great for kids and families. Staff are good fun and talkative. Nice local beers too.

Nestled in the charming town of Polebridge, Montana, the Northern Lights Saloon is a delightful retreat perfect for those seeking an intimate mountain wedding. This cozy venue is far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of surrounding mountains and meadows. The rustic ambiance makes it an ideal backdrop for a fun-filled celebration.
We enjoyed our afternoon at this fun and funky establishment! Salsa and huckleberry pie were good. Regional craft beer on tap and good cocktails. Large shaded picnic table area and a rustic stage for live music out back. Flowers and hop bines everywhere Kids enjoyed playing in lawn and in the viewing platform converted from a homestead era storage building. Clean bathrooms. I would recommend to anyone stopping by Polebridge to stop in for a bite and beverage.

Cool restaurant and bar in the remote town of polebridge. Decent sized menu and the pulled pork tasted great. Prices were okay.
Sarah H — Google review
The atmosphere was off from other times we've visited in past years. The menu was more health food focused and has added a page of cocktails. The music playing was 90s pop. One of the managers/owners was correcting an employee's attitude outside in public. There were three dogs walking around engaging with guests and children without supervision. The employees didn't seem happy in the same way as I remember in the past. I still love Polebridge! But want to make sure that the saloon stays true to its roots. Hoping that management can work out some of those details.

We spent the day hiking in Glacier, then finished by driving up the semi-gravel road to Polebridge and boy were we shocked to find the best food of our entire four-state road trip. Incredible views/atmosphere, fantastic music (!!), solid prices, and just an all-around unforgettable experience at what seems like the edge of the world in the best possible way. Would absolutely return.

Thr atmosphere and decorations from inside and out were really well done 👍🏻 its camping & saloon vibe really added to the area. I'm not sure if they were short staffed at the time, but we ended up not getting anything and leaving due to long time on waiting for service. But they did greet us in and told us that it will be a minute before they can help us with the food, and seem to be very friendly and nice to all customers 🌱 Next time we may be able to check out the food and desserts; it was really nice place to at least stop in and check out 😃

Nestled near an RV campground close to Glacier Park, Montana's Duck Lake Lodge offers a simple yet inviting retreat with basic rooms and an on-site bar and restaurant. The lodge boasts a rustic ambiance reminiscent of James Bond's Skyfall home, providing spectacular views and easy access to the Going-to-the-Sun road and Many Glacier area. While the accommodations are not luxurious, they are clean and cozy, offering good value for money compared to other nearby options.
Only spent one night but it's a great location for hiking on the east side Glacier. We got a family room with a bath only, it was in the booking description but guess we missed it so it was a bit of a surprise. Decently priced for the area and it was awesome to have access to a full range of snacks and quick cook meals you grab and leave cash for. We would of booked for more nights but they only had one night available during our time in Glacier

Stayed here for 4 nights during our trip to Glacier NP in Aug 2025. Our room was on the second floor with a double bed and shared bath and toilet. The room was a little small but we were barely in it other than sleep at night. There were other rooms with twin beds as well. The shower area and toilet were perfectly clean and they were rarely busy. There is a microwave available to use in the common area. The common seating area was also very useful for us to have dinner. We also had breakfast in their cafe downstairs and it was great. Terri was amazing in making sure we had a wonderful stay. We loved that the lodge is located little away from the main road surrounded by trees all around. Would surely stay here again when visiting Glacier again.

Full honestly first, I did not stay in the lodge, we tent camped. So I don't know much about the lodge but 10/10 would recommend this camp site. It is very close to Many Glaciers, the St. Mary (east) entrance and 2 medicine entrance. Our host was amazing. On top of the camp site the little extra things that they do and have for you out there make it so worth it. Place to wash dishes, and high speed wifi for free. Also for a very reasonable price they have ice and wood, snacks, breakfast, and showers available. When I come back to Glacier NP I know exactly where I will be staying. If you want to have an amazing experience and have a host that cares about their guests, this is the place for you. I can not say enough nice this about them.

We were in the area to ride the Going to the Sun Road and trailer in a motorcycle. The road into the property was a bit too rough to ride and the cow guards had wide spaces between the rungs. We originally booked a cabin but they had to move us to the lodge due to a conflict. The room was very nice but had shared bathrooms and no TV but did have WiFi. Terry was great and the breakfast was delicious.
David W — Google review
The lodge was a great space to land staying on the east side of GNP. There are not nearly as many food or attractions options as the west side; but you don’t need timed entry reservations from the east side. The lodge itself definitely is more of a hostel vibe, which we were aware of. The shared bathrooms and showers are kept in decent condition. The room was clean, the beds a little lumpy, and no a/c (which wouldn’t be a problem unless you go in a heat wave…which we did.) There was a window fan, though. The lodge is just old, so the facilities, bedding, and flooring are just that. It is advertised to have a cafe, but the entirety of our 3 night/4 day stay, the cafe was closed due to a staffing issue. (This would be the main reason for the 4-star review).

A tranquil oasis on the edge of one of America’s most famous National Parks. The lodge is a stone’s throw from the St. Mary and Many Glacier entrances and also not too far from East Glacier and Two Medicine. The owners are warm and friendly and genuinely enjoy helping their guests. I made new friends while visiting. Rooms are simple and bathrooms and toilet are shared but they are clean and well maintained. Was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and I hope stay there again on my next visit.

Loved our stay! The lodge is very cozy and the owner is very kind and accommodating. We arrived late (1am) after a long day of driving and, even though we gave late notice of our new arrival time, we have never had an easier time checking in and getting situated. There’s a cafe downstairs and convenience foods available for sale, too. We felt very safe and comfortable—so comfy, actually, that we spent some peaceful hours reading in the living room space with the fireplace. This lodge really has everything we needed to be a home base for venturing into Glacier NP. Plus, the Babb side is much more quiet/peaceful compared to the more touristy vibes of Kalispell.

We stayed here for one night. Whilst we don't usually stay in 2 star locations with shared bathrooms, Duck Lodge was the only place available when we needed it. We were absolutely delighted with the friendly and personal service we received. The bathroom wasn't an issue as the lodge wasn't busy during our stay. The restaurant was cosy and reasonably priced with lots of food choices. Caroline was exceptional with her attentive service. Max made us a delicious breakfast and Terri, our host, was delightful. We can't say enough positive things about the service. Lots of warm places to sit on a cold night, quiet, and wildlife to watch and enjoy. Some interesting drinks and snacks on offer for reasonable prices. Handy to Duck Lake, Glacier National Park and St Mary.
