La Baguette French Bread and Pastry Shop is a casual counter-serve establishment in Memphis that has been a staple for nearly 50 years. It offers an array of French sweets, bread, pastries, salads, sandwiches, and wine. The bakery prides itself on its dedication to using the best local and imported ingredients to create authentic French pastries and desserts.
Such a cute place with amazing pastries and delicious lunch options. Haven't had the chance to try out breakfast, but it's quickly become my go-to spot for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly and kind, to boot. Can't wait to go back 🥰

I saw a picture of the french onion soup. My stepdad and me came we got Pina Colada Tart 3 stars, Pumpkin Tart 2 stars, and French Onion Soup (I rate it 2 & stepdad rates it a 3 out of 5 stars). The security was very friendly here. We also ordered Pumpkin Bread Pudding and Cinnamon Roll which i haven't tried yet. Would I come back? No, sorry to say. Nothing that makes me go Wow this is amazing. I love looking for local restaurants and trying places. That's a perk for being a truck driver.

*** Check this place out!! *** This was a fun experience for us.....food was really tasty, and the atmosphere was super cool. Far exceeded our expectations. First off - the place is clean and the staff was super friendly. I had some questions that were answered by the cashier, the server, and even had some help from the expo. You can see into the kitchen and it looks clean and well organized. We did not order from the bakery but our sandwiches had baguette, and croissant. I had the French Dip - it was very good, and the bread was ON POINT. My wife had a sandwich and she really liked it. My son's split a quiche. The quiche was good and the crust was excellent.! Thanks and for sure, I will see you all again.

Croissant was exceptional. Sausage/egg/cheese was standard. I enjoyed the wide variety of pastries they had as well!
Sam N — Google review
Refreshingly simple and very good! I stopped by this long-standing institution today to pick up some chicken salad and egg and olive salad for sandwiches. What an incredible new layout. It’s been a year or so since I’ve been here, but it has the same friendly, quaint feel and atmosphere it’s always had. The bread, soup, and freshly made sandwich spreads are wonderful. The expanded section has added capacity and the store can handle even more sit down and walk up customers. Plus it has an outdoor patio area to enjoy as well. Love the changes and the staff was friendly as always.

Fake, the decoration almos resembling a french cafe, but the food is not even near to that. the coffee machine was not working. The tomato soup had a a very runny consistency, like if it was a waterdown tomado juice with italian spices. Very dissapointing. The quiché was too dry. They spilled the tomato soup and still served me the plate with the spilled soup on it... that is basic.... if they dont take care of this little details that says a lot of the business. Disappointing experience
Lily P — Google review
The food is still pretty good, made a $85.00 order today and was disappointed there was no bread with the soup. This has happened before and today I called and asked if it wasn't included anymore? The person who answered the phone said they had recently decided to include it but maybe the staff did not know...(although when you order online it says it is included). Been coming to this restaurant 25 years.....and a few slices of baguette went perfectly with the tomato soup.
Jane I — Google review
French bakery in Memphis area. I visited today to get some breakfast. The French onion soup comes with some slices of baguette. That was fantastic. The croissant was pretty good too. But the best one was the chocolate tart. I asked for another chocolate pastry, however the server lady misunderstood and gave me another one which I discovered after coming home. The chocolate swirl on the tart is made up of real chocolate. It’s not too sweet and tastes very good. I will again go back to try some different stuff. Don’t miss this place, if you are around. They have huge selection of cakes and desserts. Update: I visited on Sunday, in the morning to grab some quick breakfast. There was nothing much available except croissant sandwich and stuff in the counter. We ate a croissant breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. It was decent, nothing over the top. The regular coffee was very basic and underwhelming. The lemon tart was also pretty decent. In my next visit I ate the quiche and chicken salad sandwich. The quiche was very filling and tasty, whereas the chicken salad was underwhelming.

Bakery
A new bakery called The Ginger's Bread & Co. has opened its doors in midtown. Amidst the pandemic, they began with pickup services and have now established a physical location on Union Avenue. This bakery offers a delightful assortment of fresh baked goods such as bread, baguettes, sourdough, challah, croissants, cookies, and more.
This place is a gem. We were driving around after eating lunch looking for something sweet and wanted to try out a new spot. This came up on Google and we decided to try it out. They have such a nice, diverse collection of treats including pastries, croissants , cookies AND cinnamon rolls. They also have an assortment of handmade items /gifts from local artists such as jewelry, hats, art, etc. Okay back to the goodies. I got the bourbon almond chocolate croissant, an espresso chocolate chip cookie and a bag of challah rolls. My sister said the cinnamon roll was the best she has ever had. The croissant is also on point. The challah rolls? So soft and the perfect amount of sweetness. Last but not least, the guy who checked us out had a great personality and was genuinely kind. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in at Ginger's Bread & Co. and love the vibe. I grabbed an assortment of things for a girls brunch. The everything bagel croissant with cream cheese is legit—flaky, savory, and super satisfying. They have muffins, scones, challah, cookies, bread and other baked goods. Parking is easy, space is unique and clean and the folks are friendly. Pricing is super affordable, cheaper by weight than store brand. Highly recommend placing a pre-order or stopping by soon.
Cayla M — Google review
A happy discovery thanks to Novel on Poplar! They are lovely and brought a variety of treats. Sweet and savory was my choice and they delivered! I recommend their scones especially the goat cheese & sweet potato!
Valerie W — Google review
The best chicken salad in Memphis, full of fresh chopped herbs. Price points are below fast food and even grocery prices, so the more you purchase the more you will save. Their sourdough crackers are a sturdy shingle for all the summer salads and spreads. Perfect Parisian croissants, in a variety of flavors, are southern sized. Ample parking in front in the heart of Midtown. Local artists have tables set up with adorable earrings, fairy houses and crotchet crafts. Can't afford a vacation? Step in the Ginger's Bakery for a taste of Paris.

If you love the smell of freshly baked goodies, this is your place. They have many different kinds of breads, croissants, muffins, banana bread, cookies, breakfast pastries- all sorts of tempting stuff. They bake fresh with good ingredients. Try to visit them in the morning. Otherwise things run out quickly. Don’t miss their savory scone with cheddar and bacon. That’s too good. You will get previous day’s stuff in discounted rate too. Check this incredible place out. It’s near the Kroger grocery on union.
Debisree R — Google review
Very nice bakery, I picked up a loaf of their challah bread for French toast, and it turned out great. The bread itself is very good, strudy, dense, with a touch of sweetness. This bread would be great with any choice of butter or jam. They have a good variety of bread, pastries, cookies, and they even have a bread slicer. Next time, I'll have to try a loaf of their wheat bread.
Jeremy J — Google review
Warm, crusty, crunchy breads and pastries filled the air and glass cases. I fell in love with all that freshness! The Pain Au Chocolat was so good...oh my!!!
Dr. R — Google review
Second-best sourdough bread in town (yes, we don’t have many options, still - this is good if a bit uneven). If you are on the fence about bread with a crust, come on Saturdays between 3 and 4pm for half-price breads, there just may not be any left. If you like classic sandwich bread, talk to them. They sell a soft crust sourdough to local restaurants, so they might add it to their regular offerings. Also, I took one of their focaccia breads to a party - everyone loved it (dipped in a little olive oil or straight up).

Bakery
Primas Bakery + Boutique is a charming downtown establishment that combines two businesses in one: a bakery and a fashion boutique. Owned by cousins Rachel and Angelique, the shop offers an array of delightful treats and trendy clothing. The bakery, RM Petit Cakes, specializes in traditional French pastries with modern designs, including macarons and other sweets for all occasions.
Primas made our wedding cake! It was beautiful and got rave reviews— none was left over! They were the only bakery I found that was willing to make a slight modification to accommodate an allergy. Several other bakeries told me no as soon as I mentioned it, but Primas asked questions and seeing as it was a very small change to the usual process accommodated us. We really appreciated that and highly recommend them!

I’ve ordered from here twice now, both times for my birthday party/celebrations and we’ve been beyond impressed! Last year my husband asked me where I wanted my cake from and I sent him pictures ! He ordered and even got a little extra surprise ! The dessert boards are super fun and cute ! The cookie cakes are phenomenal! And the service is great too! The pictures match exactly what you get and then some , and we all know that is a rare thing these days ! A LITTLE pricey but you get what you pay for and that’s priceless ! If you’re looking for a sweet treat to accentuate your occasion, this is the place !!!
Darcey V — Google review
Primas made a cookie cake and cupcakes with short notice for a sweet 16 party. They were decorated BEAUTIFULLY and everyone at the party raved about how good the buttercream icing tasted. The birthday girl was very pleased. The photo doesn’t do it justice. There was edible glitter on the icing that made it sparkle. Perfect for a girl’s sweet 16.
Lela C — Google review
FABULOUS!! Love the pastries and goodies from this awesome local joint. We’ve had cookies, cakes, macarons, tarts, petit fours, and now a king cake!! Easy online ordering makes it super simple and convenient. Great designs and tastes incredible.

Came here for the Donut Tasting Event (June 8) with some friends and we had a good time! The Boutique is really cute and had some amazing pieces. We were served 4 different donuts (Carrot Cake, Funfetti, Lemon Blueberry, and Almond Joy) and complimentary coffee, water, or Brunch Punch. The donuts were really tasty and decorated beautifully! The Brunch Punch was just right to go along with the donuts. I will definitely return to try out their other sweets and to do a little shopping in the Boutique!
Ashley S — Google review
Primas Bakery is everything you want in a bakery. Bright colors, beautiful frosting work, and delicious sweets! They have done two custom jobs for me so far, and both times, they executed my requests flawlessly. They are always responsive, kind, and professional, and I love working with them on my orders. Most recently, I ordered a pistachio cake for my birthday. No one in Memphis makes a pistachio cake, nor were they willing to try. Primas accepted the challenge happily and produced the most beautiful and delicious cake I have ever had. My family was so impressed by the quality of the cake (I would order this for a wedding cake - it was THAT beautiful and decadent), but also the amazing frosting work. Everything this bakery produces is beautiful and the best quality. I am always impressed and happy with my orders, and I am already looking at their Valentine's Day menu to place my next one!
Tracy C — Google review
Absolutely BRILLIANT cake I don't think even seen a more beautiful cake in person in my life. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to this establishment and see for yourself if you are pondering where you should get your cake made.

Nestled in the heart of the Cooper Young area, Farm and Fig is a delightful gem that offers an array of culinary treats. Their signature buttery cinnamon-filled King Cake, available with or without cream cheese, is a must-try, topped with a sweet vanilla glaze and festive sugars. For those looking for something smaller, mini King Cakes are also on offer. Beyond sweets, this charming spot serves up fresh-baked breads like rustic French and sourdough varieties.
This little gem was a great find. Only about 4 tables inside, but it was fantastic. We had the French toast, sausage biscuit, and the breakfast sandwich. All were delicious. We planned for a return trip on Sunday morning only to find them closed (which is good for them). Family run and very much a comfortable place. Check them out.

A small, very sweet breakfast/lunch spot. They have great service and food came out quick. The french toast was good and was able to add blueberries to it :) and the Vietnamese coffee was nice and bitter

This is a great little place for Saturday brunch and for breakfast/lunch throughout the week. Their prepared food options like take-and-bake are pretty convenient, too. This place has a chill vibe and is a swell spot for a good meal.
Shahin S — Google review
The B.B. Ate was delicious. Stopped in Saturday morning for food before the Cooper young festival started. Greeted immediately with a smile and warmness. This cozy place has charm and the staff made you feel like you were at home. Can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu.
Jason P — Google review
New to the area and live in the Cooper Young area so we are within walking distance of several Cooper-Young restaurants. The breakfast at Farm and Fig exceeded our expectations. I really don't want to give them 5 stars because if they become even more popular, I'm afraid the would leave the C-Y for a bigger space and not be as accessible to us. Oh well, I can't do them the disservice--5 stars plus!
Brian S — Google review
This place is a gem. Great menu and all the food is too notch. The comfortable atmosphere with limited seating inside makes it feel like eating in "mom's kitchen".
Kailen F — Google review
Nothing bad to say, at all!! The baked products were as fresh as they could get and hands down the best Vietnamese coffee I have had in a while. The wait staff was lovely and handled crowd beautifully. We were even offered a free refill on our drink because of the extended wait time. We even picked up some cookies for the road which were delicious!! Looking forward to coming back!

Continental restaurant
Paulette's Restaurant is a charming dining spot known for its creative French and Hungarian cuisine as well as regional dishes. Situated on the ground floor of the River Inn hotel, this beloved Memphis establishment offers an elegant setting with stunning views of downtown and the Mississippi River. Following its relocation in 2011, Paulette's continues to impress diners with its attention to detail, diverse Continental menu, and exceptional service.
This was my first visit but definitely not my last because I absolutely loved everything!! My server, Rose, was EXCELLENT! The food was DELICIOUS and the atmosphere was perfect!! I highly recommend making a reservation. Two women came around 1:30pm but could not be accommodated. Not because crowded but just didn’t have a server to take care of them. We all know it’s difficult to find good help these days because most of the younger generation don’t have working skills are ethics. The restaurant has a bar and outdoor seats. Also, I kept forgetting to take photos before starting to eat so 1 piece of toast is missing and part of key lime pie. 😃 The food was very tasty, I truly enjoyed ALL of it!!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Dr. R — Google review
My dining companion and I had a lovely dinner at Paulette's before going to the Orpheum. The service was really top notch and our view from our table looking out at the river at sunset was lovely. For food – the shrimp and pasta dish. (She asked for extra shrimp - no fish) then I had the pork tenderloin. In order to make sure I did not get gluten, I did not have any sauce with my pork tenderloin. I'm sure it would've been top-notch that I've been able to eat it. Well, it was quite good and the tenderloin tasty, it was disappointing, not to be able to have any sauce. It was also disappointing that they had no dessert that a celiac could have., but my dining companion got my old favorite(back when I was eating wheat flour) the strawberry crêpe, and I think she fell in love. All in all, highly recommended. I want to go back for brunch soon.
Deborah B — Google review
The lunch was very disappointing. My Eggs Benedict had hard cooked eggs and very minimal hollandaise sauce, plus an English muffin that was nearly impossible to cut with my knife. I knew the egg yolks should have been runny, and should have sent the dish back. The whole thing had a strange taste. The popovers were heavy with no flavor and the strawberry butter was not very strawberry-ish. The only part of the meal I enjoyed were the strawberry crepes we shared, but after a couple of bites my dining partner had to make a dash for the bathroom. They made her sick. Paulette’s used to be so good…I wish they still offered their Louisiana shrimp crepes and their spinach soufflé.
Caroline M — Google review
Have not been to Paulette's in years. Just not on our radar of places to think about. That was a mistake - incredible experience all the way around. First class restaurant setting, amazing (caring) staff and outstanding menu that the chefs make work in every way. So happy to see a downtown setting do so well. Do not hesitate to frequent this spot.
Walker U — Google review
I had my birthday breakfast here today. The service and the food were amazing. I was looking for shrimp and grits because I saw a picture of shrimp and grits on the website. The waiter shared with me that the shrimp and grits were part of the weekend brunch, but because it was my birthday, he would check with the cook and see if he could make it happen. He made it happen, and they had the best shrimp that I have ever had!! The restaurant is beautiful!
1SoSoBlessed F — Google review
Wonderful food and Service, everyone was so friendly and inviting! Chef Angie and Sabrina really put their passion into every dish we had! Thank you for showing my wife a wonderful birthday
Rueal B — Google review
Elegant restaurant with great menu. Eating at 11:15 on a weekday we were seated promptly, and served water and drinks as well. We ordered the smoked deviled eggs with Roe, Redfish with Crab, and the Low country crab cakes…All delicious and plated nicely. Robust, full flavors. Especially loved the sea grass on the deviled eggs and the flavor profiles on all the dishes. For Dessert we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and bread pudding. These two did not impress. The flavors were a bit weak and did not give the “wow” factor at the end of our meal. Service was good Restaurant was noteably clean and “polished”, down to the salt/pepper shakers. The little bar and hotel lobby were adorable to walk through.
Cyn K — Google review
Truly best of fine dining. As a tourist not knowing where to dine, I searched online and found this treasure. Located near the river with sunset view and indoor outdoor dining. Very classy restaurant offering delicious quality meals and great service. The fish was moist and done to the perfection. Salad was super fresh and delicious. Drinks were okay. The complementary French buns were so tender, buttery, and delightful. I would dine there again.

Cajun restaurant
Creole restaurant
Owen Brennan's is a family-friendly restaurant specializing in Cajun and Creole cuisine, with an upscale Mardi Gras-themed atmosphere. The menu features Southern classics such as fried chicken, catfish, and crawfish alongside Belgian waffles, pancakes, and French toast. This East Memphis favorite is popular for its festive brunch events with bottomless champagne and live music by a jazz band.
So I have had the brunch before, which is fabulous. My son picked this restaurant for his birthday dinner. He wanted oysters, calamari, and a steak. The appetizers were delicious and good servings for the price. We ordered the blackberry BBQ pork chop, Riley, stuffed shrimp, and seafood newburg. Their chef must me world class. Everything was delicious. The drinks were flowing, and the restaurant was beautiful. The staff was friendly and very attentive. It was the perfect place for the birthday dinner.
Amelia H — Google review
Haven’t been here in years. Service was okay. It wasn’t crowded when I went but it was kinda slow. The food was okay. Did it to not be busy my calamari came out luke warm. Wasn’t a fan. The steak was good I order medium well but it came out well. I already waited a minute for the food to come out so I didn’t say anything but the food was still good. I want to give their brunch a try. I might come back I might not.

Our first visit was impressive & a great experience. Beautiful restaurant, decor, light fixtures are amazing, staff is great. Ron was our server & he was impeccable. Friendly, professional & we appreciated his recommendations. Our drinks were amazing - Old Fashion & Strawberry Pineapple & Coconut Cream mocktail- soooo good!!! We had the fried calamari to start. Lightly battered, crispy & well seasoned. I had the Cajun fish & chips/I opted for hand cut kettle chips, light batter & moist fish & crispy chips. My bf had the classic crawfish etouffee with rice / it wad unbelievable. So much flavour. And the soup of the day: roasted red pepper. Really tasty. To end our experience...we had The beignets and they were warm & yummy.

I love love love Owen Brennan. I didn't get any pictures of the food but I have to give props when they're due. For it to be Sunday, breakfast on Mother's Day, I can't believe how perfect it went. My mother stated the night before that she didn't want to deal with the Mother's Day crowd, and she would rather be home. But I told her Owen Brennan is different. We won't have those problems. We had a few hiccups in the beginning that weren't an issue at all because both managers got to work and made sure we got to our table quickly. We were okay with the wait anyway because the bar didn't open until 10 am 🥴. Patience is a vurue. The fact that it's a buffet style breakfast and there was no, I mean no problem at all to get our food and enjoy everything. This place is a 10 out of 10. The saxophone musician was a special touch as well. It was truly a beautiful Mother's Day. Thank you.❤️

Greeted warmly when we came in. Asked if we had a reservation, which I did because I was told that they do get busy for brunch, but it wasn't busy at all. Service was great. Everyone was happy and smiling. The food was the issue. Everything was room temperature which means it was not freshly made. The brisket was not good at all. Tasted like boiled meat without any seasoning. The steak had bell peppers and onions in it but still lacked any seasoning. The pork loin was decent but again, room temperature. The deviled eggs were not good. All the chicken was room temperature. The cinnamon rolls were hard like they were old. The sausage looked old. The bacon was ok but also seemed old. All the cookies looked like they were purchased from Sam's. The macaroni was room temperature. The red beans and rice were good and warmer than everything else. This place is extremely overrated. $107 for two people and we didn't even eat/enjoy $10 worth of food. I considered coming back and trying lunch but it's just not worth it. If they don't care enough to serve hot food for brunch, they can't care too much about any of their food. I'm not happy about this and wouldn't come back.

Mother’s Day so it was busy. And we didn’t have a reservation. And we got lost on the shuffle … so long wait. Normally a bad thing - but the bar staff was friendly. Patrons were friendly. Finally got set down and THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. Well worth the wait. All the staff were super great. Great experience! Definitely will return.

Love this place & the ambience. Lunch cost is about average in the Memphis location for lunch. The food & presentation is always great. Recently informed there will be live music on Wednesday nights - looking forward to the experience. I’ve also had their Sunday brunch buffet & omg! It was worth $50 bc there were so many options from standard breakfast, to shrimp / grits/ seafood such as shrimp/ raw oysters & they even have dessert like crème brûlée, cookies etc. Yummmmm. They also had live jazz music during Sunday brunch & I fell in love w/ this place. Definitely worth dining.

The hostess and overall hospitality were wonderful, and service was punctual. Unfortunately, the dinner entrees did not meet expectations. We weren’t able to try the shellfish options, but our order consisted of the Voodoo Chicken Pasta, Parmesan Encrusted Grouper, and the Alligator Gouda Mac as an appetizer. The Gouda Mac was the highlight savory, rich, and perfectly balanced. However, the alligator itself had more of a smoked chicken pork sausage taste than anything. As for the entrees both dishes were rather bland and lacked the savory flavors typically associated with New Orleans inspired creole dishes. The Hurricane cocktail, while refreshing and enjoyable, leaned more toward a fruity pineapple alcohol taste than the authentic depth of a true New Orleans classic. Overall, we appreciated the warm environment and hospitality, but the food didn’t live up to the same standard. We’ll return to give the brunch or lunch menu a try in hopes of a better experience.

Erling Jensen The Restaurant is a hidden gem located on an East Memphis side street, offering a refined take on classic seafood and beef dishes in a modern dining space. Chef Erling Jensen's globally inspired and classically executed approach to cuisine showcases the freshest seasonal ingredients, resulting in high-quality meals that evolve with the changing seasons. While rooted in French tradition, the menu reflects a commitment to healthy, imaginative, eclectic, and ethnically diverse culinary experiences.
Erling Jensen is one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy, and I’ve done quite a bit of traveling. It’s an experience complete with creative dishes that inspire your own creativity and the best service in town. I highly recommend the tasting menu if you can get it. My husband and I got married at brunch, and after a quick rest, our first married stop and treat for ourselves was Erling Jensen’s tasting menu and wine pairing. You will spend a pretty penny but it’s worth every bit and more. Memphis is lucky to have Erling.

Absolutely wonderful. When I tell you I don’t like carrots but his carrots so flavorful , the texture was out of this world, and cooked to perfection I mean it. That’s just the carrots. That is the level of detail, love, passion, and care that goes into every bite. They were conscious of any dirty requests or restrictions. Really the best the Mid South has to offer Sunday is Special is phenomenal. You get the chefs menu, a 3 course meal, for less than you would pay for any regular items . I love how they are making fine dining more accessible and not compromising quality. If there was one thing I would say that would take it up even on tier higher, and it has nothing to do with the food, it would be to elevate the interior decorations. Nicer artwork, not just standard prints, and maybe some nice soft music and it would take this place next level. I highly recommend it

Erling is Memphis’ celebrity chef. Always willing to come out and make an appearance for your special occasion. No other restaurant or chef comes close in Memphis. Food is always outstanding. Never had a bad meal, ever. Always gives back to our community. Hopefully, the good lord will continue to bless him with good health.

This was an amazing dinner. The walnut bread is very tasty with a nice crust and soft interior. I highly recommend the fried quail and crab cakes. Make sure to try the daily specials as well, the pheasant was a pleasant surprise. Finally, leave room for dessert, the raspberry souffle was the best of what we ordered.
Kirby T — Google review
Just an okay experience. The atmosphere is great and the location is in a good spot for parking but they also offer valet. The service was okay, he wasn't very friendly and just seemed to be hasty. The escargot was cooked well but really needed more bread and more butter in the murky broth. Maybe this is more authentic prep, but I've had it many times and it wasn't my favorite. The scallops were large but overcooked. My husband said his was just okay. Overall not that impressed and not sure I'd go back.

Restaurant
Nestled within the grand Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis, Chez Philippe has been a beacon of refined dining for many years. The restaurant's lavish main dining room exudes opulence and is complemented by impeccable service. Executive chef Andreas Kisler crafts an inventive menu that showcases classical French cuisine with a modern twist, featuring dishes like poached lobster with black-eyed pea brulee and herbed escargot with fried quail egg.
It’s been a long time since a restaurant has blown me away! This is more than incredible food to amaze the palate. It was so incredibly done that even my picky husband couldn’t get enough. He’s told everyone about the Elk cooked to perfection. The flavors paired with the wine choices were such a perfect match. The thought and talent that went into every detail was truly outstanding!! It’s more than just eye candy on a plate is truly art. It’s more than just another evening out on the town. It is a whole experience the everyone should be so blessed to enjoy. This city is so lucky to have Chef Keith and his incredible team showing up to perform, to perfect, to create, and to give every thing they have into giving you the experience of a lifetime. Get your reservation!! I promise you- you’ll thank me.

This place deserves more than five stars. Located just behind the lobby bar inside the Peabody. Venue only has a dozen tables available. Staff are all very attentive and personable with conversation. After being seated I was blown away with the small gesture, they brought me a black napkin instead of the standard white to match my outfit. That set the bar for the evening. The attention to every detail in service by Joshua, presentation and taste of the food was wonderful. We came for a birthday celebration and it was the highlight of the trip. We had the seven course, everything tasted better than the last, by the end we were so full we had to get our desserts to go. Mid course we were privately invited to the kitchen by chef Keith for an intermezzo. I took my phone to secretly record but I guess Joshua our waiter, thought I wanted a photo with the chef and I didn’t have the heart to tell him that was not my intention. Chef Keith was very personable as well and provided a list of other local eateries he thought we might enjoy. We were gifted cookies, a yuzu candle and there was a list of farm to table sources. All around wonderful experience.

As soon as my husband and I checked in we asked the concierge if there were any possibility of getting a last-minute seating for their tea experience. She was doubtful, but told us to go across the lobby and ask directly. Hallelujah, they had room for us and it was amazing, starting with our adorable and perky server. She described each item for us, then left us alone to enjoy the deliciousness. Attentive service without hovering, very well done! Suffice it to say, everything on the table disappeared quickly, accompanied by each of our tea selections. It's not inexpensive, but less so than other places I've been. Perfect for a lovely quiet afternoon!

I haven’t yet had the opportunity to dine at Chez Philippe due to time constraints during my recent visit to The Peabody. However, I did have the pleasure of stopping by. It was clear that Chez Philippe is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant. The ambiance is refined, with beautiful decor that sets the tone for a luxurious dining experience. Even without dining, I could tell that this is a place where attention to detail and high-quality service are paramount. I look forward to planning a proper evening here on my next visit to The Peabody at Memphis. If you’re looking for fine dining in a stunning setting, Chez Philippe should be on your list!

My husband and I had the most AMAZING experience at Chez Philippe. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary this past weekend and everything about our experience was above and beyond. As we were paying, our sweet waitress brought us a gift with banana bread, a candle, and an anniversary card signed by all the waiters. We were absolutely blown away with the customer service. We will definitely be returning in the future!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff catered to me with such attentiveness and care that I truly felt valued and welcomed. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a fine dining experience. Every detail contributed to a night that was not only pleasant but truly memorable. I couldn’t be happier that I chose this restaurant — it exceeded my expectations in every way.

I wish to give a million stars, I had the 7 course tasting menu along with the wine. I was greeted by Maitre d Glenn very warm inviting establishment. My waiter was Josh very knowledgeable, professional, friendly. The decor was fabulous and historic, like the painting in the opera box were watching. Food very flavorful, whimsical and attention to detail. Chef Keith is a true master and his team, wonderful people. I will mention Lexi,James and Will and apologize if I left anyone out. Chef came to my table to introduce a course and then I was invited back to the kitchen for a surprising treat. It was truly an honor and privilege to meet all the fine people. I highly recommend this place, make a reservation if you skip this place you will miss out of an amazing experience. The plates and plating were amazing. Thank you for an impeccable experience. I loved the elk never had it but now will search for it. I just refer to menu for adequate descriptions.

My experience at Chez was disappointing. Upon entering, I saw the party I was attending already seated. As I approached them, a woman intercepted me, making me feel uncomfortable and out of place. She did not appear to be a hostess, so her actions were confusing. My friend waved at me, and the woman smirked and walked away. This interaction made me uncomfortable, especially since I was the only Black woman in the restaurant. Our party was initially for six, but one person became ill and couldn't attend. When the server asked, we informed him of the situation. However, we were still charged for the sixth person without any accommodations, just a single scone for $85. Additionally, we had a child with us and were charged full price for them. When we inquired about this, the server said we should have mentioned the child when making the reservation. This information was not requested during the reservation process, and it was unreasonable to expect otherwise. The advertised price for afternoon tea is $59 per person, which seemed reasonable, even with the automatic 20% gratuity. However, state, city, and liquor taxes were also added to our bill, resulting in over $160 in taxes alone. This information should be clearly stated on the website for transparency. Overall, it was a experience.

Amelia Gene's, situated near Caption by Hyatt, brings a touch of French cuisine to its menu. The restaurant offers an array of unique small bites and starters, including Lemon Arancini and Tuna Crudo. Guests can also enjoy pasta options and dinner entrees such as elk short rib and a $110 domestic Wagyu Filet.
What a fantastic establishment. High end restaurant with an incredible industrial touch. Kelsey made our evening so delightful and refreshing, answering any questions and even helping with suggestions. The foods is absolutely delicious and chef Nate pays attention to detail of each plate along with everything going on his the restaurant. Starting off with the amazing biscuits is a must! Then there was the tempura squash blossoms, outstanding dish and one of my favorites of the evening. Final favorite was the carrot cake. Words alone cannot begin to describe the next level they have taken this cake to. Be aware that some the tastings are very small and just that, a taste. The wines are fantastic but a little on the pricey side.. but not a deal breaker.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Memphis. It's fine dining, but not overly complicated or intimidating. The menu is straightforward, which I appreciate. I’ve sat at the bar on my last two visits. The first time, Antonio and Elbee made the experience top-notch. My last visit, Antonio did not disappoint again, and Mackenzie was just as great. All are extremely knowledgeable about cocktails and made great recommendations. Service was fast without ever feeling rushed, and the food was excellent—flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and bartenders who truly elevate the experience makes this place stand out.

My wife and I were born and raised in Memphis and currently reside in Piperton about 45 min from downtown Memphis. We went to Amelia Genes last night for the first time and were blown away by the atmosphere, service and food! This restaurant is one of the best, if not the best restaurant in Memphis and it’s surrounding areas. Our waitress was outstanding. I had the monk fish and my wife had the filet. Can’t brag on this place enough!

Fantastic experience. I believe it is currently the best fine dining in Memphis. Highlights for me were the black seabass, the egg yolk ravioli and the duck, but everything we got was excellent. Very, very attentive staff as well.

I was in Memphis for a work event and we had the pleasure of eating at Amelia's and it was an amazing experience and the food was top notch, I would travel all the way back from Michigan just for the perfectly cooked buttermilk biscuits with an amazing butter sauce and an apple sauce as well. Only suggestion would be to add a sausage gravy sauce as well! Service was outstanding couldn't ask for a better wait staff!

Amelia Gene’s is truly most beautiful and modern restaurant in downtown Memphis with professional and friendly staff to ensure the best dining experience. The roasted carrot soup as the amuse bouche was delicious. Simmered with whole peppercorn and puréed to a thick pulpy soup. We ordered the Black Seabass and the Dry Aged Prime Bone in New York strip steak with beef grease popovers. Both entrees were decent with flavor profile and a reflection of a small town charm and interpretation of fine dining. Just would have preferred a higher quality steak with darker color and flavor for its steep price point. Would be delighted to return to try their appetizers and pastas next time.

Sorry about the half eaten food pics. It was so good I forgot to take pictures. The main theme here is balance. Sweet, sour, spice, meatiness are all there as well as all the textures to make every bite something new. The Short Rib is the best I’ve ever had. The sauce and roasted garlic were perfectly balanced. The strawberry shortcake desert was well balanced and full of flavour. The biscuits are outstanding. Keep a few crumbs to sop up the Short Rib juice. The Californian wines were excellent. The Cakebread Chardonnay was excellent with the strawberry shortcake desert and the Caymus Cab Sav was perfect with the Short Rib. That Cab Sav is as good as Bin389, perhaps even better, which saying a lot. Full of flavour. The Cakebread would be fantastic with spicy food. The Gimlet Cocktail was also very good. Very well balanced. The best part was the service. Ms Flowers and the other staff hit the balance of casual and professional, understood the menu very well and really understood customer service. Overall a fantastic experience. This place should have a star or two.

It’s A Calming Atmosphere And Very Calming Music. The Tea Is Amazing And Relaxing. I Bought The Citron Calm Tea. It’s Very Calming And It Definitely Relaxes And Calm You Mind. I Would Definitely Recommend Anybody To Try This Place Out. Great Atmosphere, Great Employee, Great Service.

Super cute place and yummy assortment of pastries and sweet treats! I got a lemon macaroon, gold flavor but quite sugary. I liked the hot lattes but my iced strawberry matcha could've used more strawberry syrup, the taste was kinda average. I'd go here for a tea date with the girls!

Come to spill your tea in a good ole-fashion way. Delicious (but little too sweet) semolina cake with yogurt frosting was full of flavor. My Cup of Joe was strong and hot. Plenty of choices to satisfy a sugar cravings. I felt welcomed. Clean bathroom. Fresh flowers on tables. Located at the small shopping plaza with a walk in courtyard with plenty of wooden chairs to sit.

Absolutely LOVED our cake!! I’ve never had a cake that tasted like this, seriously such a unique cake. The perfect amount of sweetness, and the cake was so fresh. We ordered the 8” wedding cake for our anniversary and couldn’t believe how good it was, better than our wedding cake on our wedding day. It made our anniversary super special and memorable.

I have been here before for the macarons and coffee which we have always enjoyed. Yesterday 6 of us came for the afternoon tea and we all agreed this experience is just not a good overall value. Presentation is stunning with the beautiful dishes and gold tiered trays but the food and experience could be improved. For $30 for kids and $40 for adults, you have to share a pot of tea per couple, so you have to hope you have the same taste. The serving is one tiered tray with a couple savory options and several sweets. The menu is same for adults as it is for the kids but there is not enough for each person to have one of everything. Because it's all blended together on one tray it's confusing. The savory sandwiches taste like basic deli turkey kid sandwiches and then a unique cucumber sandwich which most of us did enjoy. Everything comes out super fast so it feels rushed. Having been to the Peabody's high tea several times, the cost for adults is $10 more at $50 and the cost for kids is the same at $30 but there you get 3 courses with several options, your own pot of tea, and a more prolonged experience. I think this tea experience could be improved with at least another course, their own tea pot of choice and ensuring that each person gets to try everything.

Looked all over for the perfect macaroons for a birthday cake for my child, little macaroon connoisseur. This place saved the day. Macaroons were bigger than all the other places we had stopped. Store was very clean and the owner friendly. Thank you!

This adorable shop in Overton Square has delicious macarons and other French pastries. They also serve Stumptown coffee and make their own delicious syrups for lattes with interesting flavors like orange blossom and rose cardamom. The homemade marshmallows are a must; the lavender ones are my favorite. They also host pop ups in the that give the place a real community feel. You should put 17 Berkshire at the top of your to do list next time you’re in midtown Memphis!

Hive Bagel & Deli is a charming bakery known for its delectable croissants, bagels, and baguettes. The establishment has recently introduced soft serve ice cream served with local honey, adding a delightful treat to their menu. Situated near the U of M Law building, the deli offers special deals for law students. While the space is limited and primarily for pick-up orders, visitors can witness the bakers crafting their renowned croissants on-site.
Was looking for a spot close to the hotel to grab a little bite before heading to the BBQ festival. This ended up being exactly what I was looking for. The place itself is aesthetically beautiful. the bagel, croissant, and cold brew I got were delicious! I got the honey butter croissant and cinnamon raisin bagel with onion and chive cream cheese. Stellar. Loved that the cream cheese has huge chunks of red onion and green onion. Will def stop by one more time before we head out.

Very small shop has outdoor seating available. So many beautiful pastries and breads available. The lox bagel was so good and piled up with meat and cream cheese. When ordering you can request type of bagel and cream cheese. The breakfast sandwich was also very generous in portions size and very good. Latte did taste burnt but honestly the homemade bagel blew everything out of the water! Parking is limited to street parking only

Highly recommended! We were recommended to give it a try for a late lunch and we enjoyed it so much we went again for breakfast the next day and enjoyed it just as much. The Elvis bagel was a delicious mix of banana, bacon and peanut butter. The breakfast bagel was great too. Well worth

Loved everything about my visit to Hive! The bagel with salmon was incredibly fresh and packed with generous portions of salmon,so satisfying! Pastries were excellent!! Loved the croissant. Very soft and airy on the inside. Son loved the cinnaswirl bun. They were great with service and everything was quality but they were out of several ingredients with only being a couple hours into the day. I had ordered a grilled cheese but ended up with a Veggie club...it was pretty good considering it is not a typical order for me.

Hive is easily one of my favorite spots in town! The coffee is amazing and the pastries are one of the best I’ve had. The bagels and sandwiches though tend to be a bit bland and under-seasoned especially the egg avocado bagel. Staff are always friendly and the owner is super attentive and cares about providing a great experience for their clients! Would love to see them expand and offer more indoor and outdoor seating.

Best bagels and pastries in the city. I wish this place would have been open on Monday and Tuesday so I could have gone here everyday of my trip. I appreciated the amount of toppings on my lox bagel, and the baklava tart and pain au chocolat were to die for. The bagel itself had some room for growth, but everything else made up for it
