Brought by a Sarawakian friend to visit this place which has most choices of layer cakes and other types. The must buy for souvenirs when visit Kuching. There are tester samples to try. I still love the prunes, original flavor.

Was scam by the cashier. Bought 10 of layer cakes on 3/6/25 at around 5pm. 9 for the price of RM 12 and 1 RM15 However she said I have taken premium cake so all the price suppose was RM123 but she charged me RM136. At 1st never realised that I have overpaid thought because of packaging she charged extra. When my cousin checked , no charged actually for the packaging (after I have paid). Then she said I have taken Premium cakes. Since it has been packed in the box, I have no chance to check again my cakes. When calculated back home, seem it was not right. Then we checked the video that my cousin taken each of the layer cakes and price and confirmed that none of it was a premium. Nevermind, will not buy at this scamming shop. My daughter cake watery don't know why compared to Warisan cakes that was given free by Tourism Kuching far more better quality.

A sarawakian friend brought me here. The shop prepares some testers for the customer. I don't know what it's named but the red and black layer cake is so delicious.

The kek lapis was average, and the service was just so so. I came based on online recommendations but didn’t find anything particularly special. However, you can try samples freely and there’s no pressure to buy, though the staff didn’t seem very attentive.

Great place for souvenir, cakes can stay 4 days without fridge and 2 weeks in fridge. There’s a tasting tray you can try and buy the flavor you like. Great place!

One of the busiest layer cake house in Kuching, it offers wide array of flavoured cakes. As the house is constantly busy with visitors, chances that you get old cakes are slim as they always restock the cakes due to high sales volume. Numerous flavors are available for purchase starting at RM10.60 per piece. The bigger the cake, the more it will cost you. The best part is that you can take a small boat crossing the river from the waterfront to reach the house.

I like their cheese tarts, just the right sweetness and richness in the cheese filling, albeit a tad steep for affordability in Kuching. The rest of the pastries tasted alright. One of the few places I would revisit when I’m back in town. I would say Mita Cake house is a must visit! Once you enter the shop, the smell of butter milk cake fills the room and it makes me feel excited to eat it! The cake itself is so moist and sweet (can be too sweet for someone who doesn’t like sweet stuff) Please give it a try 😋

The butter cheese cake is amazing. Once back in KL, we reheated the cake (and this made the whole place smell like a bakery) and topped it with vanilla ice cream. Sooo good. Note: kek lapis was from Mama Su.

this was our family childhood favourite which was best in Kuching, but we had no longer ate their baked bun for a very long time, I recently came and buy their siew paw which the ingredients inside was totally different from the pass, the meat used now are mince pork which before was small little sliced of pork meat with darker juicy sweet sause in it, now the taste was terrible the recipe has just totally change.

Chong Chon Biscuit in Kuching offers a unique experience with their yam pastry and siew pao handmade on the spot by a friendly, chatty old grandma. The size of their pastries is humongous compared to West Malaysian versions. While the taste is alright, I found the pastry skin thick and it’s also quite oily, which wasn't to my preference. Overall, it's worth a try for the authentic experience and generous portions.

Yam puff but doesnt have yam taste(added meat and taste badly like doesnt fresh). Tried yam puff & siew pao not worth for this price. If you are looking for best siew pao and yam puff i would recommend opposite there(TONG KEE, taste good 100% so the price is reasonable)

The best siew pau in town! I also personally love their curry puffs & yam puffs too ! Love their buttery pastry and fillings. You won’t want to miss it.

Not the same as West Malaysia's siew pau, this one is Kuching's traditional siew pau with over 90 years history.

Traditional Siew Pow from Kuching, Sarawak which is different from Seremban Siew Pow. The pork meat is white unlike the caramelized pork from West Malaysia. The meat is well marinated. Tasty with thin pastry. You can choose from original Siew Pow $5, Yam Siew Pow and Century Siew Pow (consist of minced meat, yam paste and century egg) $7. Loving the Century Siew Pow combination. Get to know this store from a local grab driver on the last day of visit. Wanted to get more to bring home but the store already closed at 4.55pm.

Delicious sweet & salty SiewPau and yamPuff!

Came across this "hidden gem" when walking at carpenter and gave it a try. Definitely worth it, the place is chill and the food is giving the "homemade" vibe. Flavour is there, seasoned well and good portion. The price is okay maybe around RM30 per per person with drinks. The environment is great, is chill, quiet and tons of arts which i love. But bare in mind they close kinda early. But overall great food and experience there.

I’ve always enjoyed this place and have ordered the cold soba many times. However, this visit (around 2pm today) was really disappointing. I ordered the ubilicious Tempe and cold soba, which used to be my favorite. Sadly, the portion of ubilicious tempe has become noticeably smaller. The worst part — the soba noodles were overly soft and soggy, almost as if they had been sitting in water too long. I couldn’t eat it at all. I gave feedback and was told it was a kitchen mistake, and they offered to remake it. After a long wait, the second bowl came… and it had the exact same issue. Again I gave feedback, and again was told it was a kitchen problem. No resolution was offered besides another apology. Honestly, it ruined my mood for the day. Really hope they improve consistency and kitchen quality, because this used to be a go-to spot for me

This charming café is a fantastic supporter of local small businesses. The staff are not only friendly but also very knowledgeable. It's an amazing art café with a diverse selection of food and drinks. I was delighted to discover a kefir lassi on the menu! Their roti quesadilla is absolutely fabulous. This is definitely a must-visit spot in Kuching! 😍

My friend and I came here for lunch and got the high protein and low carb vegan sharing dish. Local dishes but with a healthy style. It was absolutely incredible. The food was so delicious. The food was high quality. The staff were so friendly. It was a great place to chill and enjoy for a few hours. We really enjoyed it. They had many food and drink options. There are meat options if one wants vegan and other is a meat eater.

This café is run by several ladies as a cooperative, serving healthy, traditional food, while showcasing and selling local artwork. Cooking classes are also offered. The café is fairly small with limited outdoor seating, and half a dozen or so tables in the rear. The modest chairs and tables are clean and add to the charm of the place. When we ate here, we were pleased to see a group of 8 locals enjoying a hearty meal. The menu offers individual plates, or combinations, and caters for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. We ordered the beef rendang sharing platter and the chicken masak mereh. Both the beef and the chicken were delicious, made even better by authentic home-made sauces. One small negative observation would be the extensive use of microwave ovens to reheat the food. I totally understand that some of these dishes can take hours to prepare and so they need to be reheated prior to serving. In the case of the chicken, though, this led to a number of both hot and cold spots in the meat itself. Reheating gently in a pot instead would likely achieve a more even heat distribution. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed the rich, authentic flavours of the food. The overall price of the meal was very modest too and our hosts were really pleasant too.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff and incredibly fresh and tasty food. The cooking class was a delight, I learnt so much about the traditional cuisine and the portions were considerable!

Visited Zero O’clock Café recently and completely fell in love with the atmosphere. The space feels calm and welcoming — minimalist decor, soft music, and a really cozy vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Tried their signature drinks, main course, snack and a few desserts — everything was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! 🍰💛 It’s one of those cafés where you can unwind, get some work done, or just chat with friends over a good cup of coffee. Staff were super friendly and attentive too — really added to the overall experience.

It is hard to find restaurant in Kuching that operate until midnight which sell non-alcoholic drinks..Zero O’Clock deserves 5 stars as it sell variety of food, snacks and drinks. Their main dishes are - Croffle - Waffle - Eggwich Well, I gonna highlight that their ramyeon and cakes are yummy and recommended to y’all.😋 Boss and staff are friendly as well👍👍

I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional the cashiers are at this place. Every time I come to check out, the cashier is busy chatting endlessly with the customer ahead — not just small talk, but full-on personal conversations that delay the whole line. This isn’t a social club, it’s a store. People have places to be. It’s incredibly disrespectful to the customers who are waiting. We’re all standing there wasting time because the cashier thinks it’s okay to gossip during work hours. I don’t care about your weekend or your friend’s birthday — just do your job. If management doesn’t fix this, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Other stores manage to move lines efficiently without turning the counter into a coffee shop. You seriously need to train your staff on basic professionalism. I’ve started to notice a pattern — every time I come in, the cashier treats me like I’m invisible. Maybe because I’m younger, they think I won’t complain or speak up. But that’s no excuse for completely ignoring basic customer service. Just because I’m not making a scene doesn’t mean I don’t notice. I’m paying like everyone else. I deserve the same level of respect and efficiency as any other customer. This is not the first time, and I’m sick of it. Stop underestimating your younger customers. We notice. We remember. And we do speak up. Big store, poor standards. Fix your frontline staff before your reputation goes downhill. 🤮

Good store with reasonable prices and good layout. Customer service is all right, I know the teller girls work hard at trying to please their customers. Their cafe is always clean with friendly staff. Plenty of choices. Oct. 26, 2018, Customer appreciation day. Wow! What a zoo. Trying to find parking was almost impossible and the crowd in the store was challenging. You really needed to be an American football tackle player to break through the throng. But if you're brave enough to go in, there are plenty of good deals for members. I believe it's held yearly in Oct. Update Wed. April 17, 2019 too many times have items not in stock that I look for. They also seem to push the small cup yoghurts and the larger, much more expensive ones. Why not stock the shelves at night like they do in the west? Gets to be a pain trying to get past all the boxes and baskets when there are many shoppers in the store.

This review is not for farley but the MOMOYO which operates infront. I can’t see the girl name clearly “Angel” something, if she don’t want to work pls don’t go to work. I haven’t finish my order and she just left me like so disrespectful behaviour with the long face until there’s one muslim girl who was friendly with me finishing my order 🗿 I try to google Farley Samarahan Momoyo branch but I can’t find it. I hope I will never be serve by that staff again

Really disappointed with my experience. Cake arrived damaged and when I reached out, the only response I received was a simple “sorry” with no effort, responsibility or offer for a resolution especially noting that this is a Mother’s Day cake. I asked if they can provide a replacement and no reply whatsoever. For a business that relies on presentation and customer service, I expected much better. This was a special occasion, and the lack of accountability was incredibly frustrating. Really embarrassing for this sort of customer service from a prominent bakery like this. Given how poorly this was handled, I won’t be trusting this bakery for any important cakes or special occasions going forward.

Alot of variety of buns and cakes. Sometimes cannot decide which one to buy. All seems very nice. Service was good but need to learn to smile to customer more. Maybe the staff can be proactive to close the glass cover before anything fly in. Or maybe customers need to be inform continuously to close the glass cover. Maybe can put a signage. This evening I bought a small dino cake at Taka Pattiserie Tabuan and when I got home, I opened the box, I saw there were black spots on the cake. I don't know what it was. It was like dust. I didn't eat it. I hope Taka Pattiserie not only Taka Tabuan, but all outlets maintain cleanliness to prevent poisoning or unwanted things from happening. thank you.

Went here on my 1st day and bought the cakes On my second last day. The 1st time there i went by boat.. rm1 to go and rm1 to come back. The boat is located near the waterfront just behind the gloria’s coffee. The second time we drove there.. The owner didn’t disturb the customers while they choose. I was recommended to this page by a colleague. Tried the Ondeh Ondeh cake and I have to say it's really good. The cake comes in a plastic see thru box, not the usual paper box which is impressive. Wide selection of delicious pastries and cakes, 10stars for that but 0.3/5 stars for service. No one is willing to attend the cashier. The curvy lady is unwilling to serve cashier. I think you may consider a self check out kiosk there so we don't have to deal with this kind issues.

Green Tea Red Bean Roll - not bad. I like. Blueberry filling bun - Feel cheated. There's no fillings inside and yet u wrote blueberry fillings. There's only small dab of blueberry jam on top and bottom of the bun but not the middle? 😂

Came here to buy the pandan chicken floss bun pastry. The shop has a place in Pandungan road coffee shop history. About the bun. Chicken floss filling wrapped with a pandan flavoured paste baked in a layered pastry outer. Chewy to the bite with a savoury sweet taste of the fillings after. RM1.60 each.

A popular place for breakfast and hi-tea. The charcoal grey sandwich and kaya ball are two of their famous dishes. Fresh homemade soyabean and local herbal tea are also available. Nice and clean environment.

This Shop is a nice quiet relax place behind The Sarawak Security Building which is a quiet lane. Like it for it's isolation but pity not many choices of Food. One outlet selling Pastry the other outlet is a coffee shop.

The sandwich is taste good and come with few flavours: Plain, Charcoal, Milo, red grain. Definitely a good place for tea break and light breakfast.

Had an enjoyable afternoon with my parents here. We came for their Medovik cake, which they only had one slice for left by the time we arrived around 4pm. The Medovik slice costed RM17, which can be considered pretty steep, but on the bright side it tasted great. The honey taste was nicely prominent and complemented the cream cheese filling well. We also got the Pavlova (RM12) which was rich with whipping cream and topped with plenty of fruits. For mains, we got the Buttermilk Chicken Rice (RM20) and the Salmon Rice Bowl (RM23), each were pretty decent as well. The atmosphere was great, and the interior was nicely furnished and clean - although just a personal preference thing; I'd prefer the cafe to use less fragrance spray so that the aroma of the food can be stronger. Also, I do think that more spoons and forks should be provided. The bakery is also Halal and has muslim staff, making it muslim-friendly to the public. Overall, my time at Violette Bakery Cafe was pretty enjoyable, and I would recommend it as a nice hangout spot every once in a while for friends and families.

Food was great especially the beef lasagna and the Medovik Cake.

Price = Quality Food. Love the tuna sandwich, the lasagna is yummy, the salted egg pasta is delicious and I mean it's worth the price you're paying for... And they have sinful, mouthwatering cakes too & you don't want to missed their pastry; croissant & cinnamon rolls are my favourite...

Pretty cafe, suitable for chill time but not so much for the food. A few tables only, 4 tables along a narrow vertical space. No others when I was here. Food tasted so-so. My mum didn't like the vietnamese spring roll. Pastries were alright. A slice of cake for about RM15 or so. Here you can get buns, cupcakes, cakes, pies, coffee, pasta etc.

Small cafe with 4 tables inside and 2 outside. Wasn't event greeted when I entered, and have no idea is it self service or not. Never mind of that I went to the cashier and placed my order - Medovik cake (RM16) and salted Egg Yolk sauce Pasta (RM24). Cake was alright, but pasta is overpriced by a lot, only a few beef bacon bits sprinkled on top of the pasta and that's it! It's also a very oily pasta noticed after I finished the dish, taste wise was ok but not worth the price definitely. Below average waiting time though only 2 tables occupied.

I was staying not too far from this place and I saw as recommendation from social media and decided to give it a try. When I was at the shop, I saw the bread and the sizes were almost double from typical bread, and the price was also almost the same as well! Bought a few to try, hoping there would be a traditional taste to them. To be honest, not really a fan of them, it doesn't suit my personal taste but its different for every individual. In general, the bread and the bun are quite thick and dense and dry, and there isn't much filling in them. Felt hard to swallow had to down it with a drink. The butter bun wasn't how I expected it to be, was hoping it to look more lava rather than being so dry. Same for the red bean bread as well. The one which might be more passable was the char siew soh. Taste of the meat was okay but the crust was quite hard as well. Sizes are big and prices are reasonable, too bad didn't go well with my palate. Definitely subjective for every individual, as can see from previous reviews that many actually liked it.

They are sells steamed bun and breads. Try the butter and garlic bread just like the other people recommend. The garlic size was quite big and tasted good. But for the butter it's average size and taste. At least the price was right and it's fresh baked.

Love the overall old school vibes of the place. I got a butter bun and a coconut bun - but I wish the buns were a tad more fluffy. Coconut bun was better though with the light sweetness of the coconut!

Like the more solid bun here, unlike those soft bun feel like eating air. Chicken & butter milk taste nice. Red bean paste taste super, more dense, not too sweet. The fillings are sufficient for those main focus is to eat nicer bread instead of the fillings.

My first time trying cha sio puff. It's out of this world. It's like curry puff but better. You could actually taste the meat in it. Make sure to come early. Perfect for breakfast or snack through out the day. But the place close just after lunch time. So stock up for afternoon tea time.

The beef burger was huge, tasted average. Carbonara is ok. Matcha latte is average, does not taste like high grade matcha. Nicely decorated cafe. Ample parking spot at the back. Ambience ok. They serve cakes too.

A good place to chill. With wifi and electrical outlets, you can bring your laptop to work too. Has elaborate Gundam, Transformer figurines. Food price is great. The 'Salmon Alfredo Pasta' I had was only RM20 with huge chunks of salmon. Portion was huge, I couldn't finish. Western food taste suited to local appetite. I took an updated version of the menu, as attached. (+) Quiet. Great value for money. Friendly and fast service. Fast wifi with electrical outlets. Plenty of carpark spaces. (-) The reusable straw, albeit environmental-friendly, has turned brown. Suggest to use stainless steel? Tips: Gotta bring my own straw next time. 10/10 Would love to visit again to chill.

A lovely restaurant with a cosy setting both indoors and outdoors. Food was decent with a satisfying portion. Price is slightly lower comparatively. Overall a pleasant experience.

For those who’s wondering, this cafe is Muslim-friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portion was big too. Definitely worth the price. This place deserves more recognition and customers for their food quality and cozy environment.

Prices here are cheaper than other places & the food is alright (based on the Butter Herb Salmon Rice that I had). Not crowded at all. Will be back to explore more of their other menu items

one of the staff is being rude towards my cousin. she pushed my cousin. I know it's my cousin's fault because she was blocking the staff way but the staff shouldn't push her that hard. other than that, the service is also worse. me and my cousin wait like one and half hours for our food. overall the food tastes good but next time please improve the service.

First at all, the food of this cafe are very delicious for me. The favourite food I like is fried rice egg normal. It is only needed RM5 and the amount of the rice is enough for me as a man. The service needs to improve because sometimes there are too many customer, so it may cause the neglect of the new customers. It also cause the food come out late. The atmosphere is okay. It is also clean and tidy but there are many bird if sit outside.

First & the last..service is very very very slow. Have to wait half and hour to get your drinks only. Food serving is the worst...the waitress came to our table 4 times to informed that what we ordered is finished...we just wasted our time for an hour there. Please improve your service and know how to estimate when you preparing your food .

Honest review....its no lonher as good as what it use to be. Not worth the money we pay for. Prices of pies almost as Secret Recipe's pie price. Apple pie taste so bad. I don know how its called apple pie when there is no taste of apple in the filling. Pastry of chicken pies so chewy and filling taste bad. Really hope changes can be made.

This place has a very cosy environment. Had spaghetti here and it tasted good. Portion was large and prices were reasonable. This place has a large variety of pie's. Bought 2 pie's for tea also. Definately recommended for pie lovers!! 😊😊 Will come back again to try other dishes on the menu. 👍🏻👍🏻

For Food: I like the chicken cheese and beef cheese pies, its recommended to have than other pie. For smoky hot beef pie, i don't know if there's difference taste with the beef cheese one, for me, same taste. The lasagna ok, like awam taste, nothing special. the cottage pie ok nothing special, it just that day i got a bit burnt on top of it but still ok. Next, the lamb pie, its somehow taste/smell hanyir from the meat they used, so i dont really like it, also i dont think its exceed the dates from its made it just the meat itself, smell hanyir. so, for people dont really care about the smell, the taste is still ok 5/10, but the meat. For pastries, apple puff and banana cheese puff too sweet. if blueberry puff its sweet and just nice to eat. it is more balance than the other 2 puff. next, matcha cheese tart, the matcha taste is ok not too strong but the red bean combination is not suitable for me. it kacau the taste of matcha with cheese itself. i prefer matcha cheese itself without red bean. blueberry cheese tart i love it just nice and balance. Lastly, for muffin, both double chocolate and vanilla, the taste/smell of vanilla extracts (i think) too strong. and if you eat them time sejuk, the muffin rasa kering, and when you eat it, akan rasa muak and rasa haus after eat it. Overall, the pies, if makan time dah sejuk, rasa still ok same goes to the pasta. For the service, the staff are okay and mesra, still be polite, recently there's only one staff work, a bit hectic there but still can serve customer with patiently. For the atmosphere, a bit kotor, the lantai the meja. 2 last week i came, i sit at one table ada like crumb bread. there's 3 or 4 staff there, i don't remember. and for the toilet, ok, xda horsepipe but weird the toilet tissue got all wet when i used the toilet.

They have lots of pastries and bread to choose from but their drinks menu is pretty limited. Tried their blueberry cheese which was lovely but their croissant was average. Drinks were decent. Plenty of seats in the cafe and it has a very nice ambient to do work/study.

Uji matcha latte- grainy, more milky taste than matcha. Milk wasn’t well steamed. Wasn’t smooth and silky. Royal chocolate- it is okay, the flavour was monotonous. Pistachio- tasted monotonous as well. Very dense, the texture was not exciting. For that price tag, it was a huge let down. The service girl was very cold and abrupt. Cafe atmosphere is great.

The Viennoisserie here was superb: light and crispy, warm and not too sweet and Coffee was solid and balanced...good beans(Earthlings) but I did really miss a decent non plastic-y cup! I find the interior is a little unpleasant, dark and depressing, and with the vibrating bass music, more like a club or bar which I do not associate with bakeries or patisseries and deterred me from wanting to stay longer. The interior could definitely do with a little bit of a makeover, for sure.

First time here and I had a really good experience. The cashier was very friendly and recommended the sourdough cheese. I tried it and it was super yummy, fresh and flavorful. Definitely a nice place to stop by, and I’ll be coming back to try more from the menu

A lot of choices of kompia, there's both sweet and savory. Best thing though is their burnt cheese cake. For RM8, it's better than most cakes you get for a higher price. Underated bakery that deserves more recognition.
