Their bread, donuts, and buns are consistently fresh and superb in taste. Whether it is a butter cake or their soft, fluffy donuts or their redbeans-packed buns, everything is made just right...not overly sweet, yet rich in flavour. One of the few places I would revisit when I’m back in town. Though the prices are slightly higher than other bakeries, you really get what you pay for as the quality of their baked goods is simply unrivalled in Kuching! The sweet potato bread loaf is so good it can be eaten just as it is, no need for any butter or jam!!

Was scam by the cashier. Bought 10 of layer cakes on 3/6/25 at around 5pm. 9 for the price of RM 12 and 1 RM15 However she said I have taken premium cake so all the price suppose was RM123 but she charged me RM136. At 1st never realised that I have overpaid thought because of packaging she charged extra. When my cousin checked , no charged actually for the packaging (after I have paid). Then she said I have taken Premium cakes. Since it has been packed in the box, I have no chance to check again my cakes. When calculated back home, seem it was not right. Then we checked the video that my cousin taken each of the layer cakes and price and confirmed that none of it was a premium. Nevermind, will not buy at this scamming shop. My daughter cake watery don't know why compared to Warisan cakes that was given free by Tourism Kuching far more better quality.

A sarawakian friend brought me here. The shop prepares some testers for the customer. I don't know what it's named but the red and black layer cake is so delicious.

The kek lapis was average, and the service was just so so. I came based on online recommendations but didn’t find anything particularly special. However, you can try samples freely and there’s no pressure to buy, though the staff didn’t seem very attentive.

Great place for souvenir, cakes can stay 4 days without fridge and 2 weeks in fridge. There’s a tasting tray you can try and buy the flavor you like. Great place!

One of the busiest layer cake house in Kuching, it offers wide array of flavoured cakes. As the house is constantly busy with visitors, chances that you get old cakes are slim as they always restock the cakes due to high sales volume. Numerous flavors are available for purchase starting at RM10.60 per piece. The bigger the cake, the more it will cost you. The best part is that you can take a small boat crossing the river from the waterfront to reach the house.

Came across this "hidden gem" when walking at carpenter and gave it a try. Definitely worth it, the place is chill and the food is giving the "homemade" vibe. Flavour is there, seasoned well and good portion. The price is okay maybe around RM30 per per person with drinks. The environment is great, is chill, quiet and tons of arts which i love. But bare in mind they close kinda early. But overall great food and experience there.

I’ve always enjoyed this place and have ordered the cold soba many times. However, this visit (around 2pm today) was really disappointing. I ordered the ubilicious Tempe and cold soba, which used to be my favorite. Sadly, the portion of ubilicious tempe has become noticeably smaller. The worst part — the soba noodles were overly soft and soggy, almost as if they had been sitting in water too long. I couldn’t eat it at all. I gave feedback and was told it was a kitchen mistake, and they offered to remake it. After a long wait, the second bowl came… and it had the exact same issue. Again I gave feedback, and again was told it was a kitchen problem. No resolution was offered besides another apology. Honestly, it ruined my mood for the day. Really hope they improve consistency and kitchen quality, because this used to be a go-to spot for me

This charming café is a fantastic supporter of local small businesses. The staff are not only friendly but also very knowledgeable. It's an amazing art café with a diverse selection of food and drinks. I was delighted to discover a kefir lassi on the menu! Their roti quesadilla is absolutely fabulous. My friend and I came here for lunch and got the high protein and low carb vegan sharing dish. Local dishes but with a healthy style. It was absolutely incredible. The food was so delicious. The food was high quality. The staff were so friendly. It was a great place to chill and enjoy for a few hours. We really enjoyed it. They had many food and drink options. There are meat options if one wants vegan and other is a meat eater.

This café is run by several ladies as a cooperative, serving healthy, traditional food, while showcasing and selling local artwork. Cooking classes are also offered. The café is fairly small with limited outdoor seating, and half a dozen or so tables in the rear. The modest chairs and tables are clean and add to the charm of the place. When we ate here, we were pleased to see a group of 8 locals enjoying a hearty meal. The menu offers individual plates, or combinations, and caters for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. We ordered the beef rendang sharing platter and the chicken masak mereh. Both the beef and the chicken were delicious, made even better by authentic home-made sauces. One small negative observation would be the extensive use of microwave ovens to reheat the food. I totally understand that some of these dishes can take hours to prepare and so they need to be reheated prior to serving. In the case of the chicken, though, this led to a number of both hot and cold spots in the meat itself. Reheating gently in a pot instead would likely achieve a more even heat distribution. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed the rich, authentic flavours of the food. The overall price of the meal was very modest too and our hosts were really pleasant too.

I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional the cashiers are at this place. Every time I come to check out, the cashier is busy chatting endlessly with the customer ahead — not just small talk, but full-on personal conversations that delay the whole line. This isn’t a social club, it’s a store. People have places to be. It’s incredibly disrespectful to the customers who are waiting. We’re all standing there wasting time because the cashier thinks it’s okay to gossip during work hours. I don’t care about your weekend or your friend’s birthday — just do your job. If management doesn’t fix this, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Other stores manage to move lines efficiently without turning the counter into a coffee shop. You seriously need to train your staff on basic professionalism. I’ve started to notice a pattern — every time I come in, the cashier treats me like I’m invisible. Maybe because I’m younger, they think I won’t complain or speak up. But that’s no excuse for completely ignoring basic customer service. Just because I’m not making a scene doesn’t mean I don’t notice. I’m paying like everyone else. I deserve the same level of respect and efficiency as any other customer. This is not the first time, and I’m sick of it. Stop underestimating your younger customers. We notice. We remember. And we do speak up. Big store, poor standards. Fix your frontline staff before your reputation goes downhill. 🤮

Good store with reasonable prices and good layout. Customer service is all right, I know the teller girls work hard at trying to please their customers. Trying to find parking was almost impossible and the crowd in the store was challenging. You really needed to be an American football tackle player to break through the throng. But if you're brave enough to go in, there are plenty of good deals for members. I believe it's held yearly in Oct. Update Wed. April 17, 2019 too many times have items not in stock that I look for. They also seem to push the small cup yoghurts and the larger, much more expensive ones. Why not stock the shelves at night like they do in the west? Gets to be a pain trying to get past all the boxes and baskets when there are many shoppers in the store.

Really disappointed with my experience. Cake arrived damaged and when I reached out, the only response I received was a simple “sorry” with no effort, responsibility or offer for a resolution especially noting that this is a Mother’s Day cake. I asked if they can provide a replacement and no reply whatsoever. For a business that relies on presentation and customer service, I expected much better. This was a special occasion, and the lack of accountability was incredibly frustrating. Really embarrassing for this sort of customer service from a prominent bakery like this. Given how poorly this was handled, I won’t be trusting this bakery for any important cakes or special occasions going forward.

Alot of variety of buns and cakes. Sometimes cannot decide which one to buy. All seems very nice. Service was good but need to learn to smile to customer more. I was recommended to this page by a colleague. Tried the Ondeh Ondeh cake and I have to say it's really good. The cake comes in a plastic see thru box, not the usual paper box which is impressive. A nice cafe in a rather quiet apartment building but next to a busy road. Limited parking space. Limited seatings. On weekends and peak hours - need to wait up to perhaps 20-30 mins for a table. Food was nice but the table was too small for 3 people. And each square table is supposed to accommodate 4 people. There’s no plain water free flow like many other cafes. This shop has more pastry but limited cakes. Some cakes were sold out, some cakes had alcohol. Overall not bad but if you are a cake person this might not be the best place for cake.

Second time visiting, first time visit during the night. Got shocked at the entrance thought the place is close cause inside too dim. Stop by for dessert and tried the weekend only special - peach banana crumble. Quite sweet with hint of cinnamon but I still feel like something is missing. Maybe try add cream or ice cream? Hot dark chocolate is light and so-so for me. I love the toilet, very considerate. 3 basins with ample space and distance. A stool for kids to wash hand, sanitary pads and flosser. But, i still think the interior lighting needs improvement. Maybe in terms of privacy for each table and short term staying is okay, cause sitting there for 20mins already make my eyes uncomfortable.

My little niece, reached out for her drink on the low three legged coffee table. The table tipped and the drink glasses fell off the table. They made us pay for the breakage (PAID RM50). 2 glasses, unfancy and not unique. Is this daylight robbery 😖 A staff came with a ‘cleaning’ cloth and plonk it on the table and left expecting us to clean the spill. 🤯 Will I want to come back again???

The food and ambience were great. I just wanted to share a small feedback — the waiter dimmed the lights without informing me while I was still working on my laptop. I initially thought the section was closing, but upon checking, he said it wasn’t. I assume it might have been to set the dinner atmosphere since it was around 6 p.m. It would have been more considerate to inform customers who are still working before adjusting the lighting.

Came here to buy the pandan chicken floss bun pastry. The shop has a place in Pandungan road coffee shop history. About the bun. Chicken floss filling wrapped with a pandan flavoured paste baked in a layered pastry outer. Chewy to the bite with a savoury sweet taste of the fillings after. RM1.60 each.

This Shop is a nice quiet relax place behind The Sarawak Security Building which is a quiet lane. Like it for it's isolation but pity not many choices of Food. One outlet selling Pastry the other outlet is a coffee shop.

The sandwich is taste good and come with few flavours: Plain, Charcoal, Milo, red grain. Definitely a good place for tea break and light breakfast.

Had an enjoyable afternoon with my parents here. We came for their Medovik cake, which they only had one slice for left by the time we arrived around 4pm. The Medovik slice costed RM17, which can be considered pretty steep, but on the bright side it tasted great. The honey taste was nicely prominent and complemented the cream cheese filling well. We also got the Pavlova (RM12) which was rich with whipping cream and topped with plenty of fruits. For mains, we got the Buttermilk Chicken Rice (RM20) and the Salmon Rice Bowl (RM23), each were pretty decent as well. The atmosphere was great, and the interior was nicely furnished and clean - although just a personal preference thing; I'd prefer the cafe to use less fragrance spray so that the aroma of the food can be stronger. Also, I do think that more spoons and forks should be provided. The bakery is also Halal and has muslim staff, making it muslim-friendly to the public. Overall, my time at Violette Bakery Cafe was pretty enjoyable, and I would recommend it as a nice hangout spot every once in a while for friends and families.

Food was great especially the beef lasagna and the Medovik Cake.

Price = Quality Food. Love the tuna sandwich, the lasagna is yummy, the salted egg pasta is delicious and I mean it's worth the price you're paying for... And they have sinful, mouthwatering cakes too & you don't want to missed their pastry; croissant & cinnamon rolls are my favourite...

Pretty cafe, suitable for chill time but not so much for the food. A few tables only, 4 tables along a narrow vertical space. No others when I was here. Food tasted so-so. My mum didn't like the vietnamese spring roll. Pastries were alright. A slice of cake for about RM15 or so. Here you can get buns, cupcakes, cakes, pies, coffee, pasta etc.

Small cafe with 4 tables inside and 2 outside. Wasn't event greeted when I entered, and have no idea is it self service or not. Never mind of that I went to the cashier and placed my order - Medovik cake (RM16) and salted Egg Yolk sauce Pasta (RM24). Cake was alright, but pasta is overpriced by a lot, only a few beef bacon bits sprinkled on top of the pasta and that's it! It's also a very oily pasta noticed after I finished the dish, taste wise was ok but not worth the price definitely. Below average waiting time though only 2 tables occupied.

Mostly people think that this beautiful Cafe belong to Non Muslim. No you are wrong, this Bakery Cafe is belong to 100% Muslim peoples. Just dine in yesterday the food there mervelous, serving more like western style...fill relex your mind when you were here.

Nasi Ayam Pak Harris is the best served with 3 types of sambal. Chicken very crunchy and you need to be early so many people there.

The place is quite customer friendly. They provide tester for every cake flavour. The cake is quite good as well. Not too sweet or buttery. The cake is definitely delicious to be eaten when served cold directly from the fridge.

The place is thoroughly clean and has perfect air conditioning to keep other items in perfect state. There are also a lot of choices to see and buy kek lapis and since it is quite near to UNIMAS, it is a perfect souvenir to buy and take back when the semester breaks started.

The staff is not too friendly. The shop is very nice. It is like home. They provide tester for customer for each of the cake they sell. Not bad at all. It is a bit expansive but sure it is value for money. I recommend this place.

If you think kek lapis sarawak is all about coloring, think again. At Di Wanie Kek Lapis it is definitely more than color. Its about pure butter and genuine quality. They offered authentic kek lapis just like the one u get at Malay Sarawakian houses during hari raya. And u can feel and taste that the cake is certainly beyond coloring. If you happen to drop by do try Lapis India. It has coconut and cadbury chocolate in between the layers. The company uses pure butter (Anchor brand), and they offered samples located next to the cake chiller. The shop interior and work area is spotless, which I love. They have friendly staff and said delivery is available. The price is slightly more expensive than Dayang's or Mira's but being in cake industry, this is an indication of premium ingredient being used. On top of that each cake is individually boxed. So, if you want kek lapis next time, head on to Di Wanie in Satok!

I texted and asked if there was any cream puff left. They said they still had mix cream puff, so I ordered one. They replied OK and sent me the store location. I was in Tranquility area and was driving to find the shop. 2 minutes later they told me that they sold it to walk-in customer. Why did you say OK then give everything to walk-in? I was literally one minute away from your shop. Very very unhappy

Lovely people running a lovely cooking class! Were able to cater to vegetarian and non-vegetarian at the same time. Fun market tour learning about all the local produce, then on to the kitchen to make four, and watch a fifth, very flavourful Sarawak dishes. There was great aircon and fans to keep the heat down while cooking, and a cute bookshop and art gallery attached to have a look through after the class. One person in our class had the foresight to bring an extra person to help them eat the banquet prepared. So much food, was a shame to waste all the rest we couldn’t eat. Definitely bring a hungry companion or a container to take your leftover efforts away in!

Excellent tour of Sarawak cultural village. Our guide, Lucian, was both knowledgeable and polite. We had a lovely day, with lots of insight to native culture. The show at the end was fantastic - thoroughly recommend! Had a great day overall!

Lucian picked us up from the hotel and took to the park, he answered all the questions with perfect English, knew al about the culture, frogs, orangutans, Sarawak, history. It was raining 3 times and didn't bother us because of the frogs we saw. He written down all the species names and it was more than 50 frogs we saw. He even knew the sex and age of frogs, but was looking for insects, spiders, lizards and mammals also. We saw the leopard cat!!!!! Seeing how happy he was you can truly see how much this hobby/ job means for him

We felt lucky to be with Lucian for our day at Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary. He is very knowledgeable about the plants and animals of Borneo, as well as the culture. He helpfully communicated ahead of time all the things we should bring to the park via Whatsapp. He took the time to show us around the park, including a nature trail and museum display. He went above and beyond to make our day great!

A must-go, when visiting Kuching. We had an amazing adventure and saw a lot of animals. Lucian is a great host!

Great day trip with Lucian. He picked us up from our hotel and first took us to Semenggoh park for the morning feeding. We where we were lucky to spot two orang utan! Then off to Annah Rais long house for a guided tour and a home cooked lunch on site (checked with us for diet restrictions, nice touch!). We finished the visit of the long house with a private masterclass by musician Arthur Borman - a true passionate that carries on the legacy of Pratuokng, a beautiful bidayuh instrument! Super happy with this day trip. I had a similar package few years back when I first visited Sarawak but that one is another level. Lunch and music introduction is a really nice addition to the trip, 100% recommended!

Lucian is an excellent guide. We went with him to Semenggoh, Bengoh Dam waterfalls and Kampung Sting. Besides hikings were really nice and enjoyable, he guided us splendidly. I highly recomend him. Very professional, kind and reliable.
