Bakery
Mita Cake House - Satok Branch has recently relocated to a larger space, now offering a cafe and bakery. Their French-Japanese style baked goods, including bread, cakes, and pastries, are freshly made from the finest ingredients daily. The shop has expanded its range of flavors over time, with colorful kueh lapis being a highlight. Visitors can sample the flavors before purchasing. The butter cheese cake is highly recommended and often purchased as a souvenir for its delicious taste and aroma.
Best Cheesecake ever. I will drop by whenever I come to Kuching to bring it back to Singapore. A must, yes it is a must for everyone to try their cheesecake. Eat it during your tea break 👍
Azlan K — Google review
Their butter cake is really good! It’s packed with flavour! It has a nice buttery and cheese fragrance. It’s unlike any butter cake I’ve tasted before. It really gives the “wow” factor
JJ — Google review
If you're looking for the perfect buah tangan from Kuching, look no further than Mita Cake House. Their famous Butter Cheese Cake is a crowd favourite. Soft, rich, and packed with buttery goodness that melts in your mouth. It's a simple treat, but one that never fails to impress. The moment you step into the shop, you're instantly greeted by the irresistible aroma of freshly baked cakes. It's truly tempting and hard to walk out empty-handed! Prices here are reasonable, so if you're trying to cut costs, buying directly from the store is your best bet. That said, if you're short on time, the good news is you can still grab their cakes at the airport shop. Just expect to pay a bit more for the convenience. Whether for yourself or as a gift, Mita’s Butter Cheese Cake is a delicious slice of Kuching you’ll want to bring home.
Amelda Y — Google review
I would say Mita Cake house is a must visit! Once you enter the shop, the smell of butter milk cake fills the room and it makes me feel excited to eat it! The cake itself is so moist and sweet (can be too sweet for someone who doesn’t like sweet stuff) Please give it a try 😋
Syakirah I — Google review
Butter cheese cake and cream cheese cake alike is good, but cupcake is bad. It's like really dry and crumbles easily. 9/10 for cake 0/10 for cupcake.
Nur S — Google review
The butter cheese Mita cake it dabomb guys! Go there buy a loaf and than when your about to leave Kuching, buy 10 boxes! Haha! They’re not too expensive around $rm18.90 I think less than $20 rm. this is the first thing I got when I reached Kuching! Definitely the best ever butter cheese cake by far. They have a few branches around Kuching! Go try them it’s a must when ur at Kuching!
Andy Y — Google review
The bun 6 pieces red bean rm5.3, creamcheese rm5.4 very nice. The bread is very soft
LEE L — Google review
Mita Cake House has several branches around Kuching, but the Satok outlet remains my favourite mainly because it is conveniently close to home, plus the quality never disappoints. Their bread, donuts, and buns are consistently fresh and superb in taste. Whether it is a butter cake or their soft, fluffy donuts or their redbeans-packed buns, everything is made just right...not overly sweet, yet rich in flavour. And if you are after something a little more indulgent, their cakes are fantastic. Moist, well-balanced, and beautifully decorated. Just perfect for any celebration or just to treat yourself. The service is also friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for those who are not on strict diet like me 😃

Bakery
Pie shop
Aloha Delicatessen Bakery is a delightful gem in Kuching, known for its expertly crafted baked goods that are as flavorful as they are visually appealing. Their cupcakes boast clever names like Dark Secret and Zest You Up, which perfectly capture the essence of their delicious vanilla cake with citrus frosting. While prices may be slightly higher than average, the quality of their offerings justifies every penny spent.
Worth the money. Love the cheese tart. Of course their chicken pie
Diana M — Google review
I like their cheese tarts, just the right sweetness and richness in the cheese filling, albeit a tad steep for affordability in Kuching. The rest of the pastries tasted alright. I'd note that their baked goods are smaller per serving and come at higher price points. Two chicken pies+ a cheese tart+ a cheese cookie+ two mixed fruits minis= RM19
Michelle N — Google review
“Best bakery in Kuching- fight me on this if you can🕺🏻” Everything is freshly baked and prepared. Highly recommend their Pullman loaf, sweet potato loaf and chicken tarts. Yes, the prices are higher than average but what you pay is what you get!!!

Many choose of bread, awesome chicken pie and cheese cake😍
CHIEW O — Google review
The famous chicken pie is as good as they say. Other than that, the other pastries are great as well. Good quality pastries.
Mike C — Google review
One of the top bakery in Kuching. Their bread is of high quality though pricey. Have you tried their different types of delicious bread? I tried their wholemeal & potato bread, tasty & filling your stomach. Give a try & you'll love their multiply of bread.
Marco P — Google review
I likes chicken pie here. Birthday Chocolate mint no bad too.Only 1 things outside the shop looks like untidy because of the throw out boxes supermarket.
Hui T — Google review
One of the few places I would revisit when I’m back in town. Though the prices are slightly higher than other bakeries, you really get what you pay for as the quality of their baked goods is simply unrivalled in Kuching! The sweet potato bread loaf is so good it can be eaten just as it is, no need for any butter or jam!!

Boss very generous ..gave us free 1 if u purchase 10 pieces..each time..but also depend on your luck ...
Benjamin L — Google review
Brought by a Sarawakian friend to visit this place which has most choices of layer cakes and other types. The must buy for souvenirs when visit Kuching. There are tester samples to try. I still love the prunes, original flavor.
R O — Google review
Was scam by the cashier. Bought 10 of layer cakes on 3/6/25 at around 5pm. 9 for the price of RM 12 and 1 RM15 However she said I have taken premium cake so all the price suppose was RM123 but she charged me RM136. At 1st never realised that I have overpaid thought because of packaging she charged extra. When my cousin checked , no charged actually for the packaging (after I have paid). Then she said I have taken Premium cakes. Since it has been packed in the box, I have no chance to check again my cakes. When calculated back home, seem it was not right. Then we checked the video that my cousin taken each of the layer cakes and price and confirmed that none of it was a premium. Nevermind, will not buy at this scamming shop. My daughter cake watery don't know why compared to Warisan cakes that was given free by Tourism Kuching far more better quality.
Norhazni N — Google review
Cake good with reasonable price, have a tester for all the flavour of kek lapis, can have a look and try it, recommended kek lumut
Chaiting T — Google review
A sarawakian friend brought me here. The shop prepares some testers for the customer. I don't know what it's named but the red and black layer cake is so delicious.
Local G — Google review
The kek lapis was average, and the service was just so so. I came based on online recommendations but didn’t find anything particularly special. However, you can try samples freely and there’s no pressure to buy, though the staff didn’t seem very attentive.
美食大豆尔晴 — Google review
Great place for souvenir, cakes can stay 4 days without fridge and 2 weeks in fridge. There’s a tasting tray you can try and buy the flavor you like. Great place!
Celinemy — Google review
One of the busiest layer cake house in Kuching, it offers wide array of flavoured cakes. As the house is constantly busy with visitors, chances that you get old cakes are slim as they always restock the cakes due to high sales volume. Numerous flavors are available for purchase starting at RM10.60 per piece. The bigger the cake, the more it will cost you. The best part is that you can take a small boat crossing the river from the waterfront to reach the house.

Indah Cafe is a charming spot located in a historic shophouse on Carpenter Street. Since 2014, it has been serving up Sarawak-inspired dishes like Nasi Lemak Daging Hitam and Ayam Kuah Satay Sandwich. The cafe also doubles as an art gallery and event space, offering cooking classes that include a local market tour to explore and taste regional produce. Customers have praised the friendly staff's flexibility in accommodating dietary preferences and scheduling for the cooking classes.
cute little restaurant and "art-cafe" with amazing food and very friendly staff. They have very good vegan and vegetarian options, which I loved. (They even had a very delicious vegan chocolate cake!). The food is fresh, healthy and authentic. I highly recommend visiting this place, during your time in Kuching. They also sell some local arts and crafts there and they also have a very nice homemade sambal you can buy, to take with you.
Luca K — Google review
Came across this "hidden gem" when walking at carpenter and gave it a try. Definitely worth it, the place is chill and the food is giving the "homemade" vibe. Flavour is there, seasoned well and good portion. The price is okay maybe around RM30 per per person with drinks. The environment is great, is chill, quiet and tons of arts which i love. But bare in mind they close kinda early. But overall great food and experience there.
Odell A — Google review
I’ve always enjoyed this place and have ordered the cold soba many times. However, this visit (around 2pm today) was really disappointing. I ordered the ubilicious Tempe and cold soba, which used to be my favorite. Sadly, the portion of ubilicious tempe has become noticeably smaller. The worst part — the soba noodles were overly soft and soggy, almost as if they had been sitting in water too long. I couldn’t eat it at all. I gave feedback and was told it was a kitchen mistake, and they offered to remake it. After a long wait, the second bowl came… and it had the exact same issue. Again I gave feedback, and again was told it was a kitchen problem. No resolution was offered besides another apology. Honestly, it ruined my mood for the day. Really hope they improve consistency and kitchen quality, because this used to be a go-to spot for me

This charming café is a fantastic supporter of local small businesses. The staff are not only friendly but also very knowledgeable. It's an amazing art café with a diverse selection of food and drinks. I was delighted to discover a kefir lassi on the menu! Their roti quesadilla is absolutely fabulous. This is definitely a must-visit spot in Kuching! 😍
Claire B — Google review
My friend and I came here for lunch and got the high protein and low carb vegan sharing dish. Local dishes but with a healthy style. It was absolutely incredible. The food was so delicious. The food was high quality. The staff were so friendly. It was a great place to chill and enjoy for a few hours. We really enjoyed it. They had many food and drink options. There are meat options if one wants vegan and other is a meat eater.
Jarryd N — Google review
This café is run by several ladies as a cooperative, serving healthy, traditional food, while showcasing and selling local artwork. Cooking classes are also offered. The café is fairly small with limited outdoor seating, and half a dozen or so tables in the rear. The modest chairs and tables are clean and add to the charm of the place. When we ate here, we were pleased to see a group of 8 locals enjoying a hearty meal. The menu offers individual plates, or combinations, and caters for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. We ordered the beef rendang sharing platter and the chicken masak mereh. Both the beef and the chicken were delicious, made even better by authentic home-made sauces. One small negative observation would be the extensive use of microwave ovens to reheat the food. I totally understand that some of these dishes can take hours to prepare and so they need to be reheated prior to serving. In the case of the chicken, though, this led to a number of both hot and cold spots in the meat itself. Reheating gently in a pot instead would likely achieve a more even heat distribution. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed the rich, authentic flavours of the food. The overall price of the meal was very modest too and our hosts were really pleasant too.
Richard W — Google review
Warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff and incredibly fresh and tasty food. The cooking class was a delight, I learnt so much about the traditional cuisine and the portions were considerable!

FARLEY SUPERMARKET (KOTA SAMARAHAN)華利百貨 is a well-organized store with reasonable prices and a wide range of products, from groceries to electronics and clothing. The customer service is generally good, with friendly and helpful staff throughout the store. However, the store can get quite crowded at times, especially during special events like Customer Appreciation Day. Some customers find it challenging to navigate through the crowds and struggle with parking availability.
Very convenient to shop groceries from fresh produce to toiletries and utensils. The staffs very helpful and the shop is spacious. The most important thing cheaper compared to other supermarkets.
TS A — Google review
Limited parking space. Park a few block away then walk for about 3 minutes to Farley. Systematic item arrangement. Quite a lot of choice.
JW L — Google review
I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional the cashiers are at this place. Every time I come to check out, the cashier is busy chatting endlessly with the customer ahead — not just small talk, but full-on personal conversations that delay the whole line. This isn’t a social club, it’s a store. People have places to be. It’s incredibly disrespectful to the customers who are waiting. We’re all standing there wasting time because the cashier thinks it’s okay to gossip during work hours. I don’t care about your weekend or your friend’s birthday — just do your job. If management doesn’t fix this, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Other stores manage to move lines efficiently without turning the counter into a coffee shop. You seriously need to train your staff on basic professionalism. I’ve started to notice a pattern — every time I come in, the cashier treats me like I’m invisible. Maybe because I’m younger, they think I won’t complain or speak up. But that’s no excuse for completely ignoring basic customer service. Just because I’m not making a scene doesn’t mean I don’t notice. I’m paying like everyone else. I deserve the same level of respect and efficiency as any other customer. This is not the first time, and I’m sick of it. Stop underestimating your younger customers. We notice. We remember. And we do speak up. Big store, poor standards. Fix your frontline staff before your reputation goes downhill. 🤮
Rebecca 1 — Google review
Good store with reasonable prices and good layout. Customer service is all right, I know the teller girls work hard at trying to please their customers. Their cafe is always clean with friendly staff. Plenty of choices. Oct. 26, 2018, Customer appreciation day. Wow! What a zoo. Trying to find parking was almost impossible and the crowd in the store was challenging. You really needed to be an American football tackle player to break through the throng. But if you're brave enough to go in, there are plenty of good deals for members. I believe it's held yearly in Oct. Update Wed. April 17, 2019 too many times have items not in stock that I look for. They also seem to push the small cup yoghurts and the larger, much more expensive ones. Why not stock the shelves at night like they do in the west? Gets to be a pain trying to get past all the boxes and baskets when there are many shoppers in the store.

Taka Patisserie offers a wide variety of full and sliced cakes, including traditional options like Tiramisu, Red Velvet, Pecan Butterscotch, and Mango Cheese. They also have indulgent chocolate cake options such as Indulgence and Mixed Chocolates, along with Brownie Hazelnut and Tiny Choco for chocolate lovers. The event space at Taka Patisserie is accommodating and the staff are helpful in arranging events, providing useful tips and advice.
Taka cakes never make me disappointed. The cake very moist and doesn’t left your throat dry. Moist and not too sweet. It also have a lot of choices. Everything looks nyummy to me. Get one and you will not regret it.

Really disappointed with my experience. Cake arrived damaged and when I reached out, the only response I received was a simple “sorry” with no effort, responsibility or offer for a resolution especially noting that this is a Mother’s Day cake. I asked if they can provide a replacement and no reply whatsoever. For a business that relies on presentation and customer service, I expected much better. This was a special occasion, and the lack of accountability was incredibly frustrating. Really embarrassing for this sort of customer service from a prominent bakery like this. Given how poorly this was handled, I won’t be trusting this bakery for any important cakes or special occasions going forward.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Taste of Art and Heart at Taka Patisserie, Sarawak Taka Patisserie in Sarawak completely took my breath away! This is far more than just a bakery — it’s a vibrant, elegant space where local culture, culinary artistry, and heartfelt hospitality come together beautifully. The open-window kitchen gives you a full view of the pastry chefs in action, and it’s mesmerizing to watch. Their creations are not only delicious but true works of edible art. Everything is beautifully displayed behind glass with perfect lighting — truly an appetizer for the eyes before you even take a bite! My sister and I happened to be there on my birthday, and when we casually mentioned it, they surprised us by playing the Happy Birthday song when serving our pastries. It turned an ordinary moment into a truly special celebration. We felt seen, valued, and celebrated — and that’s rare. The staff are exceptionally friendly, fast, and organized. The whole place runs like clockwork, with a clear sense of leadership and pride in their craft. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. One of the most beautiful things I noticed is how much the local community supports this bakery. It’s not just tourists popping in — it’s a beloved spot for locals, yet it has the feel and standard of a world-class international patisserie. To everyone working at Taka: Thank you. You are creating more than food — you’re creating experiences, memories, and joy. Keep going. You’re doing something truly special.

Alot of variety of buns and cakes. Sometimes cannot decide which one to buy. All seems very nice. Service was good but need to learn to smile to customer more. Maybe the staff can be proactive to close the glass cover before anything fly in. Or maybe customers need to be inform continuously to close the glass cover. Maybe can put a signage. Bought a birthday cake for my daughter. All my kids love it. Thank you.

This evening I bought a small dino cake at Taka Pattiserie Tabuan and when I got home, I opened the box, I saw there were black spots on the cake. I don't know what it was. It was like dust. I didn't eat it. I hope Taka Pattiserie not only Taka Tabuan, but all outlets maintain cleanliness to prevent poisoning or unwanted things from happening. thank you.

Went here on my 1st day and bought the cakes On my second last day. The 1st time there i went by boat.. rm1 to go and rm1 to come back. The boat is located near the waterfront just behind the gloria’s coffee. The second time we drove there.. The owner didn’t disturb the customers while they choose. Some of the personal shoppers there did help by stating how to keep the cake after buying them. The cheapest cake lapis around.
Athirah F — Google review
One of the popular place to buy Sarawak’s souvenir Layered Cake, or Kek Lapis in local Malay language. The shop is within a residential house in a Malay village, across the waterfront. There are many flavours and definitely will confuse first time buyers. Luckily there’s free tester provided so you can simply choose what you like. The cake is largely divided into cakes that use margarine and those that use butter, with differing price tags. Cake with butter - more expensive, need refrigeration. RM25 Cake with margarine- cheaper, stored at room temperature. RM10

Best pure butter kek lapis in Kuching. Hidden gem. Butter kek lapis was rm25/pc. Buy 4 butter kek Lapis free 1 normal kek lapis. Service was very good. The only bad thing is limited parking.

Among the best kek lapis manufacturer in Kuching. They provide postage service to outside Kuching. Serve varieties of kek lapis using marjerin and butter. Price for marjerin cake is rm10 (buy 10 loaf free 2 loaf). Price for kek lapis using butter is rm25 per loaf (buy 4 loaf free 1 loaf). Butter cake is more tasty then the marjerin cake. Highly recommended to buy this products as they provide taster of the cakes.

Their offerings extend to unique cake varieties such as coffee, sesame, pandan, and hazel chocolate. Whether you're sending a sweet surprise to loved ones or treating yourself, Yummi Hero ensures a seamless online ordering experience.
Was looking for a cake shop offering delivery in the city. As this is my first time placing a cake order for someone, and also via a website, it was a relief that the interface of the website is user-friendly, and the process from browsing, to selecting the cake, and making payment during checkout was straightforward. This was especially a lifesaver for me, as I was making the order from overseas. After the order was placed, they reached out to me acknowledging the order, and also provided consistent updates up to the point of delivery. Great customer service overall, not just during the initial stages of the purchase, but also in the after-sales service. The cake ordered was the Chocolate Mousse Cake. In addition to being very rich in flavour, the presentation and decorations were very pretty, while also simple enough so that it is not a hassle when eating. Will definitely choose Yummi Hero for future cake endeavours as well! 💖🌸

I live in UK and wanted to send lovely cake to my relatives who live in Kuching but I am unfamiliar with shops around the area. I ordered online via YummiHero a chocolate crepe cake and the service was hassle-free, efficient and friendly. My aunt & family love the cake - they say it was tasty, not too sweet and it looks wonderful (as advertised in website photo). The delivery service was great too as the beautiful cake arrived in great condition. Highly recommend 👍🏽👍🏽 Will order mooncake next! ☺️

I was recommended to this page by a colleague. Tried the Ondeh Ondeh cake and I have to say it's really good. The cake comes in a plastic see thru box, not the usual paper box which is impressive. The cake is fragrant, the sweetness is just right and everyone enjoyed it. They deliver right to my office too. Thumbs up!

I recently had the pleasure of savoring a heavenly delight called the Mango Crepe, and I must say, it was an absolute treat for the senses! From the moment it was served until the last bite, every aspect of this dessert left me wanting more. The first thing that struck me was the impeccable presentation. The crepe itself was thin, delicate, and perfectly folded, allowing the vibrant colors of the mango slices to peek through. It was a feast for the eyes even before I took my first bite. Now, let's talk about the taste. As soon as I tasted the first forkful, I was transported to a tropical paradise. The sweet, juicy mangoes burst with flavor, and the combination of their natural sweetness with the slightly tangy crepe was a match made in dessert heaven. Each bite offered a delightful contrast of textures, with the softness of the crepe blending seamlessly with the succulent mangoes. It was like a symphony of flavors dancing on my taste buds. What truly impressed me about this Mango Crepe was the balance of flavors. The crepe itself was not overpowering, allowing the mangoes to take center stage. The simplicity of the dish highlighted the natural sweetness of the fruit, making it a refreshing and satisfying treat. In conclusion, the Mango Crepe was a sensational culinary experience. Its outstanding presentation, mouthwatering taste, and perfectly balanced flavors make it an absolute must-try for any dessert enthusiast. Whether you have a sweet tooth or simply appreciate the wonders of fresh mango, this delightful treat is sure to leave you enchanted. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of paradise in every bite!

Bakehouse by Breadsman is a must-visit for croissant and sourdough enthusiasts, offering a wide selection of freshly baked bread and pastries daily. The charming French-style design and spacious seating provide an excellent ambiance for a relaxing afternoon tea. The attention to detail in the design and comfortable seating create a delightful atmosphere, complemented by friendly staff who enhance the overall experience. While some patrons found the Dacquoise filling disappointing, others praised their delicious pastries at fair prices.
Such a lovely place, with the most amazing service and absolutely delicious food that made my day! The roast beef sandwich was tender and had the right balance of mustardy sweetness in the sauce, matched with caramelized onions! The plain croissant is light and fluffy with a crunch when you bite into it! Will definitely be back should I be in Kuching.

A nice cafe in a rather quiet apartment building but next to a busy road. Limited parking space. Limited seatings. On weekends and peak hours - need to wait up to perhaps 20-30 mins for a table. Food was nice but the table was too small for 3 people. And each square table is supposed to accommodate 4 people. There’s no plain water free flow like many other cafes. This shop has more pastry but limited cakes. Some cakes were sold out, some cakes had alcohol. Overall not bad but if you are a cake person this might not be the best place for cake.
Ky Y — Google review
Second time visiting, first time visit during the night. Got shocked at the entrance thought the place is close cause inside too dim. Stop by for dessert and tried the weekend only special - peach banana crumble. Quite sweet with hint of cinnamon but I still feel like something is missing. Maybe try add cream or ice cream? Hot dark chocolate is light and so-so for me. I love the toilet, very considerate. 3 basins with ample space and distance. A stool for kids to wash hand, sanitary pads and flosser. But, i still think the interior lighting needs improvement. Maybe in terms of privacy for each table and short term staying is okay, cause sitting there for 20mins already make my eyes uncomfortable.

Been there for few times, even though it is quite far from my house. Love their food and atmosphere. The only drawback is the sourdough loaf always sold out..

A great cafe with cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Coffee is good and plenty of seating. Location is a bit out of the way but that's also it's positive point as the place isn't crowded nor noisy. A perfect place for work or gathering with close friends.

Is this Amazing service?? Guess it didn’t reach my expectation with what ppl call this place ‘bougie’. Had a very unpleasant experience this afternoon. My little niece, reached out for her drink on the low three legged coffee table. The table tipped and the drink glasses fell off the table. They made us pay for the breakage (PAID RM50). 2 glasses, unfancy and not unique. Is this daylight robbery 😖 A staff came with a ‘cleaning’ cloth and plonk it on the table and left expecting us to clean the spill. 🤯 Will I want to come back again???

The food and ambience were great. I just wanted to share a small feedback — the waiter dimmed the lights without informing me while I was still working on my laptop. I initially thought the section was closing, but upon checking, he said it wasn’t. I assume it might have been to set the dinner atmosphere since it was around 6 p.m. It would have been more considerate to inform customers who are still working before adjusting the lighting.

Had an enjoyable afternoon with my parents here. We came for their Medovik cake, which they only had one slice for left by the time we arrived around 4pm. The Medovik slice costed RM17, which can be considered pretty steep, but on the bright side it tasted great. The honey taste was nicely prominent and complemented the cream cheese filling well. We also got the Pavlova (RM12) which was rich with whipping cream and topped with plenty of fruits. For mains, we got the Buttermilk Chicken Rice (RM20) and the Salmon Rice Bowl (RM23), each were pretty decent as well. The atmosphere was great, and the interior was nicely furnished and clean - although just a personal preference thing; I'd prefer the cafe to use less fragrance spray so that the aroma of the food can be stronger. Also, I do think that more spoons and forks should be provided. The bakery is also Halal and has muslim staff, making it muslim-friendly to the public. Overall, my time at Violette Bakery Cafe was pretty enjoyable, and I would recommend it as a nice hangout spot every once in a while for friends and families.

Pretty cafe, suitable for chill time but not so much for the food. A few tables only, 4 tables along a narrow vertical space. No others when I was here. Food tasted so-so. My mum didn't like the vietnamese spring roll. Pastries were alright. A slice of cake for about RM15 or so. Here you can get buns, cupcakes, cakes, pies, coffee, pasta etc.
Veteran O — Google review
Small cafe with 4 tables inside and 2 outside. Wasn't event greeted when I entered, and have no idea is it self service or not. Never mind of that I went to the cashier and placed my order - Medovik cake (RM16) and salted Egg Yolk sauce Pasta (RM24). Cake was alright, but pasta is overpriced by a lot, only a few beef bacon bits sprinkled on top of the pasta and that's it! It's also a very oily pasta noticed after I finished the dish, taste wise was ok but not worth the price definitely. Below average waiting time though only 2 tables occupied.

If you think kek lapis sarawak is all about coloring, think again. At Di Wanie Kek Lapis it is definitely more than color. Its about pure butter and genuine quality. They offered authentic kek lapis just like the one u get at Malay Sarawakian houses during hari raya. And u can feel and taste that the cake is certainly beyond coloring. If you happen to drop by do try Lapis India. It has coconut and cadbury chocolate in between the layers. The company uses pure butter (Anchor brand), and they offered samples located next to the cake chiller. The shop interior and work area is spotless, which I love. They have friendly staff and said delivery is available. The price is slightly more expensive than Dayang's or Mira's but being in cake industry, this is an indication of premium ingredient being used. On top of that each cake is individually boxed. So, if you want kek lapis next time, head on to Di Wanie in Satok!

Sarawak Private Trips & Cooking Class @ Indah House is a charming cafe in Kuching that offers a unique experience for art lovers and food enthusiasts. The cafe not only serves authentic Sarawak dishes like laksa and mee kolok but also provides cooking classes to learn the secrets of Sarawakian cuisine. Visitors can enjoy the artistic ambiance with local silk paintings and handmade jewelry available for purchase.
It was a few days at the end of a business trip to sight-see and having Lucian around made that short stay really worthwhile. He was very good at listening to our wishes and gave good advice on the feasibility of our requests - e.g. the likelihood of seeing the Orangutans if it was raining (as it did a lot on our days); on other opportunities to enjoy - visiting a Longhouse, taking a cooking course - and he was really patient and guided by wanting to see we would enjoy the experience. The cookery course was with Indah house and we were lucky that places were available last minute. It was great fun meeting the other participants and the chef, chopping and sauteing away together - maybe beer was needed in that warm kitchen - 😉. The cafe itself is a lovely place - small but with a strong sense of community, wanting to promote artists in the area as well as the sights. They sell art created by local artists - pictures, paintings, trinkets, postcards etc, and the staff are very warm and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Kuching. We were very happy with Lucian's professionalism and his kindness and friendliness. There were other things we weren't able to do - visit the National Park, see the frogs - but I'd be very happy to head back and he'd be first on my list of people to contact when there. Thank you

Lovely people running a lovely cooking class! Were able to cater to vegetarian and non-vegetarian at the same time. Fun market tour learning about all the local produce, then on to the kitchen to make four, and watch a fifth, very flavourful Sarawak dishes. There was great aircon and fans to keep the heat down while cooking, and a cute bookshop and art gallery attached to have a look through after the class. One person in our class had the foresight to bring an extra person to help them eat the banquet prepared. So much food, was a shame to waste all the rest we couldn’t eat. Definitely bring a hungry companion or a container to take your leftover efforts away in!

Excellent tour of Sarawak cultural village. Our guide, Lucian, was both knowledgeable and polite. We had a lovely day, with lots of insight to native culture. The show at the end was fantastic - thoroughly recommend! Had a great day overall!

Lucian picked us up from the hotel and took to the park, he answered all the questions with perfect English, knew al about the culture, frogs, orangutans, Sarawak, history. It was raining 3 times and didn't bother us because of the frogs we saw. He written down all the species names and it was more than 50 frogs we saw. He even knew the sex and age of frogs, but was looking for insects, spiders, lizards and mammals also. We saw the leopard cat!!!!! Seeing how happy he was you can truly see how much this hobby/ job means for him

We felt lucky to be with Lucian for our day at Semenggoh Orangutan Sanctuary. He is very knowledgeable about the plants and animals of Borneo, as well as the culture. He helpfully communicated ahead of time all the things we should bring to the park via Whatsapp. He took the time to show us around the park, including a nature trail and museum display. He went above and beyond to make our day great!

A must-go, when visiting Kuching. We had an amazing adventure and saw a lot of animals. Lucian is a great host!

Great day trip with Lucian. He picked us up from our hotel and first took us to Semenggoh park for the morning feeding. We where we were lucky to spot two orang utan! Then off to Annah Rais long house for a guided tour and a home cooked lunch on site (checked with us for diet restrictions, nice touch!). We finished the visit of the long house with a private masterclass by musician Arthur Borman - a true passionate that carries on the legacy of Pratuokng, a beautiful bidayuh instrument! Super happy with this day trip. I had a similar package few years back when I first visited Sarawak but that one is another level. Lunch and music introduction is a really nice addition to the trip, 100% recommended!
