Bla Bla Bla is a unique Chinese restaurant with a Bali-inspired natural green concept. The use of wooden tables and chairs creates a romantic and comfortable dining atmosphere. The menu features dishes like Sayur Midin, Ayam Pandan, Itik Peking Pancake, Cakur Manis, and delectable Western cuisine that have received top ratings from visitors.
A hidden gem in Kuching, wasn't expecting much from this restaurant but ended up being super satisfied. We enjoyed each of the dishes we had, and the ambiance was nice. Be noted that the portion size of the foods are quite a lot. Besides, staffs were very friendly and helpful. Great experience overall.

Four of us couldn't finish the big portion of 1-pax fried rice and veggies. The Mango duck was nice and tasty, this dish was served with 8 spoons of mango and duck.
Happy W — Google review
the food is superb, so far the best meal I've had in Kuching. looking forward to be back at this restaurant again in the near future.
Henry Y — Google review
We had originally intended to eat at a nearby Thai restaurant only to discover upon arrival that it was permanently closed. Bla Bla Bla was virtually next door and based on typically good reviews we decided to eat here instead. Access to the restaurant upstairs is via a number of paving slabs set over water, ahead of the stairs. The layout of the restaurant is relatively simple, but airy thanks to the airconditioning. Various alcoholic beverages feature on a very extensive menu that offers all manner of Asian fusion food. We ordered the black pepper beef, Thai style crispy chicken with mango, and a midin salad. The first observation about the portion sizes is that they are quite large. We probably could have ordered just the one main course between us as we struggled to eat everything that was brought out. The black pepper beef had an intense, but not overwhelming, flavour and the beef was tender. The chicken dish had quite a chilli kick to it that was moderated by the mango, and this combination worked well. The overall price of the meal was somewhat higher than in similar restaurants in Kuching, but this was probably more a reflection of the quite large portion sizes.
Richard W — Google review
A rather nice atmospheric spot, although the service could be better and the food as well for the price. The signature cashew nut prawns are unfortunately not worth it. Ask them for unshelled option (and pay 8 MYR more), if you desperately must have them. We could have chosen better in Kuching. 🤷‍♂️
Aleš K — Google review
The stir fried Midin/fern and the Pandan chicken was amazing! The rice/noodle dishes say they are for one person but the portion is huge, so I think they mean portion for one if you’re not getting any other dish.
Wanzhen X — Google review
The food is nice and big portion but the price is abit pricey , don’t expect too much about their service .
Vinie C — Google review
The environment downstairs was good with water and stone. The food portion really big. Some of the food taste is good and some so so. What I don't like was that it took them an hour plus to cook me the food. I waited for hour plus, yet the table beside who came later than me already been served. I called the waiter and he was very unhappy and ignore my calling. What kinda service is this? If you're not happy with too many of customers please set the limit of customers to dine in. I can wait for half an hour but not an hour plus. Don't do ur business like this. Never go back.

Madam Tang's A Taste Of Sarawak is a popular spot known for its award-winning Sarawak Laksa, made with fresh ingredients like coriander and topped with a half-boiled egg. The Nasi Lemak stands out with its unique rendang, featuring a strong black pepper flavor while still retaining the traditional taste. The laksa is flavorful but not overpowering, making it a great choice for a satisfying meal. The restaurant offers efficient service and easy parking.
A local friend took us there for lunch. We ordered premium beef noodle, Sarawak Laksa, homemade meat rolls, fried wonton and 2 honey lemon. All food is delicious and I like Madam Tang’s Laksa rather than the other laksa in Malaysia because it’s not fishy at all but tastes so good. I will try to eat one more time before I go even we stay here 3 nights only😊
Hody M — Google review
We ordered a drink and a few dishes. As we sent our order we realized there were two other tables waiting for their orders. Our orders then slowly trickled out. The last one was the dry wonton. Not sure why so slow. The restaurant was not even busy at the moment. Out of a few things that we ordered the beef rendang was the best. The taste was just right. Everything else was too salty for us.

This place offers Laksa, Beef Noodle, Mee Siam, Wonton Noodle, Snacks (Banana Fritters, Homemade Meat Roll, Fried Dumpling, Fried Chicken Wing, etc) Toast (Peanut, Curry Chicken, etc.), etc. Prices below not yet include Service Charges and Tax. Atmosphere: 4.25🌟 Was told that they have renovated. The place looks clean and new with air conditioning so its quite comfy. However, there's limited number of seats as the shop isn't too big hence gaps between tables isn't too big. The tables and chairs are solid though. Service: 3.75🌟 Though, we did do booking earlier and apparently another group just seated down and not sure what happened and they didn't ensure to check the seats are reserved for correct group. They managed to help us to combine tables so all of us can be seated together so that is appreciated. Another problem is one of the food (Mee Siam I think) came very late so everyone has to wait for the 1 person eating. Not sure if they forget the order or something but I think they can do better to manage the servings. Food: Sarawak Laksa Special 4🌟 Honestly, even though I didn't try a lot of Sarawak Laksa back in KL and only tried 1 hawker stall in Kuching, I can feel the gap between them surely. The broth has the distinct Sarawak Laksa taste which personally I'm not that much of a fan of it. However, the taste of this bowl does make you feel Sarawak Laksa indeed has its place within the good curry flavored broth soup in Malaysia. It also has very nice aroma and flavor along with it in the broth and this makes this bowl a standout for me compares to the rest of the Sarawak Laksa. The special version comes with 3 big prawns that size is hard to find in KL. Priced at Rm 14.80++ Snacks: Banana Fritters 3.5🌟 Its good and its different than the usual flakey crunchy fried bananas. The banana is wrapped fully with a layer and it looks nice, clean and still pretty crunchy. Still, not as crispy/crunchy as most flakey types. Drinks: Flavored Fruit Tea 3.25🌟 I had Strawberry Mango which taste quite good and it comes with this chia seed thingy. Priced at Rm 2.50++

Friendly staff, very cozy atmosphere, lot of variaty of food, after order, the food come very fast, taste was very good, Lot of Local menu like Kolo mee, Nasi lemak, Laksa and soon, the price are affordable, Must Try when visiting Kuching.

This modern spot has a good selection of classic Malaysian favourites, including one of the best Nasi Lemak we had in our six weeks in Malaysia. Their half-boiled eggs and kaya toast set (with coffee) was a solid choice as well. We also enjoyed their beef noodles. You can’t go wrong with this spot. Definitely recommended.
Culinary S — Google review
We were a bit disappointed with the food we ordered — it was salty. The coffee wasn’t good, and the service was lacking. I hope they improve them.
Shirley T — Google review
Lame Laksa and Beef Noodle Soup; nothing like one's accustomed to in taste.
Swee C — Google review
wow, the nasi lemak is really good. rendang is not the usual peninsular style. this one has stronger black pepper taste but still retains the core rendang taste. Laksa is definitely on the stronger taste side for a sarawak laksa, but no where near malacca nyonya laksa heavy taste. really enjoy it, its a go to place for a quick comfort meal. service was efficient and parking is easy.

When exploring the culinary landscape of Kuching, one cannot overlook Poh Lam Laksa at Chong Choon Cafe, a true gem for lovers of Sarawak Laksa. Nestled in a cozy corner of this bustling coffee shop, this stall may be easy to miss but is certainly worth seeking out. Unlike its counterparts from Singapore and Penang, Sarawak Laksa here boasts a unique flavor profile reminiscent of prawn mee soup.
Poh Lam Laksa is my go-to spot for a Sarawak Laksa fix whenever I visit Borneo, specifically Kuching in the prosperous state of Sarawak Maju Makmur. The stall is nestled among many others inside Chong Choon Café, which was previously located across Abell Street back in the 90s until around mid-2015. This is one of the few stalls that still serves an authentic Sarawak Laksa, with shrimp shells perfectly simmered in the laksa paste to impart a deep, savory aroma of shrimp balanced with the creamy sweetness of coconut milk. The resulting broth evokes a sense of warmth and comfort, making it irresistible and mouthwatering from a hundred meters away. A small bowl of Sarawak Laksa is served with rice vermicelli, generously topped with peeled boiled prawns, omelette strips, bean sprouts, chicken slices, and a sprinkle of chopped coriander leaves. Kudos to the stall owner for consistently preserving the original flavors since I first tasted them in 2011. On that note, the stall owner of deserves a solid 5 out of 5. Food: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5 Service: 3/5 This is perhaps the golden standard for Sarawak Laksa, the Kuching version. Even without additonal whistles and bells, in the absence of fancy ingredients or an attractive venue, this laksa stall shows up consistently as one of the top laksa in town. My usual place for a laksa fix when in town. The laksa broth is rich, prepared from a strong prawn stock, spicy laksa paste, perfectly balanced with the natural sweetness of coconut milk. It is served in small bowls with minimal standard toppings, as authentic as it can be. I usually have a bowl of kolo mee to accompany my Sarawak laksa whenever I can, enjoying the best of both worlds. #foodphotography #foodhunter #foodie #foodreview #foodblog #foodblogger #foodreview #foodiegram #foodies #delicious #deliciousfood #goodfood #singaporefoodie #malaysiafood #kuching #kuchingfood #sarawakcuisine #sarawaklaksa #laksa #pohlumlaksa Check out my food reviews on my Instagram page for more! If you're visiting Kuching and haven't tried Sarawak laksa, you're missing a vital part of the city's culinary soul. And when it comes to finding one of the best bowls in town, Poh Lam Laksa at Jalan Abell should be right among the tops of your list. This local institution is no hidden gem — the secret's long out. When we arrived, the entire kopitiam was packed to the brim, with a snakelike queue weaving its way out the door. Despite the 20-minute wait, the moment we were seated, service was lightning fast. Our bowls arrived steaming in no time, and every second spent queuing melted away with the first spoonful. The laksa itself? A masterclass in balance. The broth is mildly spicy with just the right touch of heat, allowing the complexity of the spice blend to take center stage. Creamy yet feather-light, the coconut milk adds body without overwhelming the senses — a comforting warmth without heaviness. What really makes it shine is the depth of umami. The prawn-based stock, likely enriched with dried shrimp, delivers a bold savoury punch, while a gentle squeeze of lime cuts through with a refreshing tang that keeps each mouthful lively. Topped with shredded chicken, fresh prawns, soft omelette strips, bean sprouts, and herbs, it's a textural and flavourful symphony that lingers in the memory long after the last slurp. Rightly recommended ‘
Merryheart — Google review
One of the most famous Sarawak Laksa stalls in Kuching. Locals will tell you about which other places they prefer, but they come here and queue for this anyway. Absolutely delicious and my favourite form of laksa over the Singaporean and Penang ones.
Ryan H — Google review
One of the most famous Sarawak Laksa in town. Some may say it doesn't taste as good as before but for me it is still the best Laksa in Sarawak. Whenever I am back to Kuching I never miss it.
Min T — Google review
Must try when you are in Kuching. Small bowl is RM 8, big bowl is RM 10. Close at 11.45am and every Tuesday.
Iwan S — Google review
I would say over-rated as one of the best don't quite get the hype. 3 small prawns, few small pieces of shredded chicken and some beansprouts, no eggs for RM10 (Sept 2023). Mild broth not too salty and small portion. Go elsewhere if it's packed and need to line up, definitely not worth the wait. If this is your first time eating Sarawak laksa as a tourist then you would think it's really good. But honestly go to any other shops/foodcourt they all taste the same, and probably cheaper with more ingredients. Not to mention they give you less than half teaspoon of sambal to go with you laksa!

Choon Hui Cafe in Sarawak has gained iconic status, especially after being praised by Anthony Bourdain for its Kuching Laksa. This dish is a flavorful blend of shredded chicken, fresh prawns, and bean sprouts in a rich and spicy soup. Another must-try is the mee kolok at Kak Bedah Cafe, known for its Halal version of the dish.
One of the best spots I’ve tried for Sarawak Laksa! The broth is rich, fragrant, and packed with authentic flavor — perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. The prawns and shredded chicken were fresh and generous too. I also had their 3 Layer Tea — super refreshing and not overly sweet, with a good balance of milk, tea, and gula apong. Cozy environment and friendly staff. A must-try if you’re craving true Sarawakian taste!
Kw L — Google review
If you’re into Sarawak Laksa, most people will point you to Choon Hui. In my humble opinion, they make a tasty bowl of laksa but not necessarily the best bowl. Apologies to my Kuching friends but I truly believe the best bowl of Sarawak Laksa is to be had in Petaling Jaya at Lao Mao Cafe in Megan Rise Mall. To be fair, it’s not an apples to apples compare as the bowl of Sarawak Laksa at Lao Mao cost slightly more than twice that charged by Choon Hui. So the quality of ingredients and spices used in the broth are at a different level. For the price that they charge, I have no complaints about what Choon Hui delivers. A simple delicious bowl of noodles. Had the Kolo Mee here too. Think the noodles are too soft and the dry mix is a little bland and needs the vinegared chillies to provide some complexity.
Whisky D — Google review
Choon Hui Cafe in Kuching is a popular stop for tourists. The Sarawak laksa here is delicious, with a rich broth and well-balanced toppings that make it very satisfying. However, what stood out for me the most was the popiah — fresh, packed with flavour and served with a tasty dipping sauce that really elevates it. A great place to enjoy some authentic local favourites.
Joseph K — Google review
This place opens and closes very early. We came around 1015 and the place was still packed. The kolo Mee shop was already closed for the day. We got the Sarawak laksa and a porridge. The food was ok. Nothing too outstanding. By the time we are done, the laksa have finished even before their closing time of 11am. Parking is a huge issue as there really was very limited parking.
Sharon T — Google review
The laksa sarawak is nice, took the small bowl and the portion is nice and cost rm8 The only issue we had no cash🥲 They dont accept card and QR. Probably will be more convenient if they have that service. Even the drinks guy-doesnt have QR code Had to run to nearby bank across the road to withdraw money. Nice place to try,but pls carry cash with you.
Shan S — Google review
The laksa wasn’t quite to my liking. The broth was creamy but lacked the strong prawn flavour I expected, so it didn’t feel very balanced. Prawns were fresh, but the noodles were slightly overcooked, and I unfortunately found a strand of hair in the bowl. The kolo mee, on the other hand, was better - a bit on the dry side, but the shallot aroma was fragrant and flavourful. I also ordered Teh C Special, but it came with ants. They did replace it, though the second cup still had ants around the rim. Service was polite, but overall the experience could be improved in terms of quality control. it
Parsley W — Google review
I think this is one of the more popular and touristy coffeeshops in Kuching recommended in quite a number ot social media sites. Visited on a weekday morning and didn't expect this place to be so crowded. I was also recommended this place by a friend and decided to come here to try the popiah and laksa. Managed to get a table after a few minutes, but I didn't waste time and I ordered the laksa while waiting for a table. Could see they were busy but it didn't take long for the food to be served. Had a try and it was not bad, I didn't try a lot of laksa here but I thought it was one of the better ones. Couldn't see the popiah stall so I asked someone and apparently it wasn't opened. Disappointed. Then ordered the special teh c and decided to get the toast as well. The teh c was good and the toast was even better. It exceeded my expectations as it was so crispy and the kaya was light. Not a bad place for breakfast do expect crowds and hope I get to visit again and try the popiah. There's a kolo mee stall too if I remember correctly so its a place where you can try most of the local specialties. Recommended.
Matthew L — Google review
Breakfast at 645am, no wait of cause, parking was easy that time. Its has very limited parking space, maybe 8-9x max. The laksa was good. Sin Chuan Choon laksa still the best in KCH. At city center.

If you're on the hunt for an authentic culinary experience in Kuching, look no further than Woon Lam Cafe 1999. With a rich history spanning over 34 years, this beloved eatery is renowned for serving up some of the finest Kueh Chap around. The owner takes great pride in sourcing only the freshest ingredients, making daily trips to the market each morning to ensure quality.
A cafe (or coffee shop) that serves local delight. Staffs are friendly and atmosphere is good and easy to fins seats. Vedge Veggie serves a variety of vegetarian main dishes such as minced meat rice, nasi lemak, chicken rice, western burger, etc. A pity that i didnt get to try their kolo mee, which seems delicious 👍🏻 They also serves vegetarian char kueh and popiah in this coffee shop. Char kueh is of local flavour and the popiah serves with generous filling.
James A — Google review
Tried that three layer lo bak was quite salty. Just tasted average.
Yalun H — Google review
Came for breakfast. Ordered a popiah and fried cha kway. The popiah was average but it was cold. Realized that this is how people here sell and eat popiah. The fried cha kway is like fired carrot cake but it is not tasty as the kway is luke-warm and dark sauce is uneven spread.
Steven L — Google review
The Kuey chap broth is not that thick and tasteless and price for RM9 (Small) Not my favourite place for Kuey chap and portion too small. Popiah is good and the ingredients are thick. Western breakfast is acceptable too and price is much cheaper. But Char kueh is recommended as it taste good.
B L — Google review
An old coffee shop that has been operating for a number of years but not as what it was in its heydays as some of the stalls have changed hands. But still one of the better ones, where you will be able to find most of Kuching local food for breakfast.
James S — Google review
1st meal here and tried a few dishes which I concluded with my taste buds are average. It tastes local. The hot coffee tastes weird.
Bro O — Google review
👍🏻 1) Cha Kueh is truly out of this world 2) Friendly services at the Cha Kueh 3) Fast services 4) Kolo Mee also tasty, good services 👎🏻 5) beverage is below par 6) Prices for the beverage, is comparable to the small portion of food price 7) Warm, ideally to dine and leave ASAP
Samuel T — Google review
I would say most people come here for 2 extraordinary food. The vegetarian fried carrot cake and the kueh chap. Of course the cafe offers more varieties than the mentioned 2 popular dishes. I tried some of them they are good as well. The only draw back is the crowd, limited parking space.

If you're exploring Kuching, make sure to stop by Mohammad Lim Cafe, a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This family-owned establishment has been serving up delicious handmade mushroom noodles for over a decade. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for enjoying a hearty meal at any time of the day, especially in the evening when it opens late.
Been coming here since >10 years ago. If you want to have a hearty bowl of delicious handmade mushroom noodles, this is your go to place. The price is super reasonable. I also recommend the Tauhu Soup bursting with umami flavours. Price for a normal bowl is RM 6, for the special is RM 8. It is a family owned business and am really happy that from a stall, they finally have their own restaurant. Do give this place a try. I always order Handmade Mushroom Noodles with extra mushrooms. Parking might be a bit difficult during weekdays but go during the weekends if possible. Nevertheless, its still worth the try.

Had mee sapi for breakfast. Taste is just okay. Portion is quite big. RM9 for the small bowl.
Shazli T — Google review
This one is halal restaurant in Kuching. The specialty here is Mushroom Mee. The sauce have unique taste different with common Kolokmee that you can find in Kuching [ for me it's taste good ]. Chicken and mushroom sauce was good. The noodles portion is quite a lot. The price also good. Worth to try !
Ian S — Google review
Interesting halal twist on kolo mee, and it’s actually kolo mee. Most halal “kolo mee” is actually beef noodle but this one actually serves theirs with chicken charsiew. And the charsiew actually tastes pretty good. The other toppings were meh and the mushroom was on the sweet side, like very sweet that it kinda ruin the dish. The complimentary soup was deceptively full of flavor, super sour and spicy, but definitely an acquired taste. Be careful with that thing. Parking is limited, especially on weekdays.
Koakumanao — Google review
Staff are friendly and easy to locate. Served with chicken with no pork and lard, and sweet sause alittle unfamiliar flavour in comparison to the original. Would recommend if you do not eat pork in your diet.

Many people hyped about this place. And it is disappointing at least for me. Have tried it twice. With kampua red and white and both is meh tastewise. And for rm6 per plate i thought the taste gonna be better? Have been eating kampua since forever so i know that there are plenty of other places in kuching where you can get cheaper and more delicious than this. Hype does not equal good. My opinion.

When it comes to laksa, Sarawak Laksa deserves a spotlight of its own, rivaling the more famous varieties from Penang and Johor. What sets this dish apart is its unique broth, enriched with prawn shells that lend a delightful depth of flavor. The spicy yet tangy soup is paired with rice vermicelli and topped generously with ingredients like peeled prawns, omelette strips, bean sprouts, chicken strips, and fresh coriander leaves.
BY BURNING SOUL!!! The Sarawak laksa is very good. 🍜🍜🍜 For classic laksa kosong (plan) is RM 4 while big bowl is RM 10. 🍜🍜🍜 I ordered a bowl with cheese and chicken nuggets in my bowl is very nice. 🧀🍗 Like putting cheese on top of the instant noodle you can also add cheese on top of your laksa (ADD ON WITH CHEESE IS RM1). 🧀🧀🧀 The owner is very kind and it is now looking for new staff to work for them. 100% recommended for the laksa with cheese. 🧀🍜 We will come back again!

Chinese noodle restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful noodle experience in Kuching, look no further than Noodle Descendants. This beloved eatery has been serving up delicious dishes since 1957, making it as historic as Malaysia itself. The menu features simple yet flavorful offerings, including their renowned mix pork soup noodles that come with a variety of noodle options like mee and bee hoon. Each bowl is accompanied by a savory clear pork offal soup that bursts with umami goodness.
Old fashion restaurant run by seniors (slow steady service). Noodles is fresh, chewy and bouncy. Vinegar flavored mee pok is unique & nice. Soup is homely flavored (not msg imo). Expect to wait 20-30 mins for orders to be filled 😂
Shun — Google review
Is it good? Yeah. Is it worth the off-peak wait? Eh So how this works is as such — you queue for a table, then wait for the old lady to ask for your order. Even though i didn’t rush her (I just kept looking around to see if she had noticed me), she came over to scold me to “Wait” Even though I showed up in the late morning with no queue for a table, I still had to wait for 45 min before my order was taken (soup & kosong), and it took yet another 15 min before I was served. The noodles were incredible but the soup was really only alright, where the liver was definitely overcooked. Skip this unless you’re ready to lose 2 hours; I’m sure there are equivalents that are just as good
Deborah C — Google review
Sorry, it’s really not worth the wait. 30 minutes just to get a seat and another 30 minutes to get the food. If you’re hungry, better not come here, because you might even get gastritis while waiting. When the food was finally served, the konlo mee was indeed delicious, but the mixed soup was just average. Nothing special, just some seaweed added into the soup. Really not worth it. They only speak Chinese, so if you don’t know the language, it’s quite difficult to place an order. All staff are elderly. To improve their service, they need to hire younger workers to handle the noodles and soup section. They should also add more preparation stalls so that the preparation work can be done faster. They also need to wear head covers and gloves when preparing or handlings food. Prioritising cleanliness when handling food is very important. Price is ok. Happy tummy happy customer 😊

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Authentic Taste! Had breakfast at Noodle Descendants, Padungan — one of Kuching’s true local gems! The noodles were smooth, springy, and perfectly seasoned, topped with crispy fried shallots for that nostalgic homemade aroma. The soup was rich, flavorful, and packed with tender pork slices, fish balls, and seaweed, giving a comforting, well-balanced taste. Despite the queue, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere felt authentically local — simple, clean, and full of Kuching heritage.
Harry H — Google review
I decided to drop in at Noodles Descendents, after I was told that this is one of the many famed Kolo Mee houses in Kuching that locals patronise. Depending on what you perceive to be Kolo Mee (the crinkly curly wheat noodle type), in my opinion as a tourist, Noodle Descendants does not serve Kolo Mee. For me, Noodle Descendants serve what seems to be a local (traditional) version of the Hokkien or Teochew Bak Chor Mee 肉挫面... Wheat noodles with pork and pork offal and innards. Regardless, I ordered mine to come with the thicker, wider Mee Pok 面薄 noodle rather than the typical Mee Kia 面仔noodle commonly used for Kampua Noodles or Wanton Noodles. And, it has vinegar too, which if you dislike, you need to tell the chef beforehand. Overall, the noodle and accompanying soup I had is very similar, if not the same, as the ones I had at Kim Joo in Chinatown, Kuching. Although similar, both are unique by their own standards. Both noodles at Noodle Descendants and Kim Joo were simple and traditional (that I was told), but not mind-blowing---with the use of pork lard and fried onion oil combo, black vinegar, soya sauce and probably MSG as the noodle base, with slices of lean pork, minced pork, Char Siew pork, pork innards and offal to accompany. The soup, whether offered as a side or purchased additionally was surprisingly bland... 🤔 The significant difference between Noodle Descendants and Kim Joo was that Noodles Descendants gave slithers of pickled mustard greens, whilst Kim Joo gave bean sprouts (Dao Gey 豆芽). Service was relatively good, although the older lady whom I believe is the co-owner was rather loud when she spoke, but it's simply because she aged and probably now harder in hearing. Overall, although not extraordinary or mind-blowing, I did enjoy Noodle Descendants' noodles after putting in some light soya sauce and cut chillies. If I am within the vicinity, and crave for such type of Teochew/Hokkien noodles, I'll definitely drop in.

Tried this famous restaurant in kuching and ordered their kolo mee. Actually it's good, but not that special for me. And considering the services, which is really slow, and the place itself was really hot, i dont think I will come back to this place again.
Kenny K — Google review
Sorry but really not worthy of the long wait... Don't order the normal in soup in the pic as it's bland and not very tasty although the mee tai mak is chewy. The other soup with kosong is much nicer and flavourful but still I don't think I would want to wait again...
Michaela T — Google review
This shop is located in a very crowded place. Parking is quite a challenge. Coz you may need to park far a way. However if your hotel is in surrounding area that will not be a problem. It is within tourist area too. It has established since 1957. It’s a family business, they maintain their technique and way of preparing the noodles in a very special. Most important it is to my liking. It’s like eating at home. Below here are my observation results and things that I like: - the noodle is cooked properly (very hot) so till the end of your meal, the noodle is still warm - the sauce is just right - the soup is to my liking: i don't like internal organs, so mine has only meats, sliced fish cake, fish ball and minced meat. You can have the soup with rice, bee hoon, mee pok or kwe tiaw. Their system is like this: - come and queue for empty table - when it’s your turn, the waitress will assigned you the table. - you wait the drinks waitress to take order your drinks - there will be another waitress who takes your noodle order - then you wait till the food is come. ^_^ it's not super fast but not super slow (depends on the crowdness). - you eat after finish then you can pay directly to the cashier at the back or ask the cashier to come to your table. (better you go to the back)

Saigon Fusion Vietnamese Cuisine is a delightful gem located on Main Bazaar in Kuching, perfect for those craving authentic Vietnamese flavors. This restaurant offers a variety of traditional dishes, including the beloved pho bo (beef noodle soup) and crispy spring rolls that transport you straight to Vietnam. While prices may be slightly higher than what you'd find in Saigon, the quality and taste make it well worth it. One standout dish is the dry rice noodles paired with succulent pork chop—a match made in culinary heaven!
Serve very authentic Vietnamese foods, must try. Love their foods so much.

Place is small....a bit dusty...food was however not so bad...low salt is a definately good thing nowadays...vietnamese coffee was quite sweet so if u want low sugar tell them beforehand as they use condensed milk

A pale shadow of what it used to be. Pork Pho... key is the broth... but a huge letdown... diluted taste. Missing was the ubiquitous pungent flavour and taste of fish sauce. Can't the meat be sliced through? Instead of hanging off each other for dear life? Oh dear...
Michael W — Google review
My favourite dish here was the dry rice noodles with pork chop. The pork chop is superb and perfect match with the vermicelli.
Liz P — Google review
Ordered takeaway. Pho was not great. No herb fragrances from the soup. Sauce combination for vietnamese spring roll is not good either. Roasted meat so stiff and taste abit like metal, it's difficult to bite and swallow. Overall, not authentic, not pleasant. Dishes I've tried, all lack of herbs. Alot of unnecessary plastic usage that can be cut down.

There were some cockroaches going around. The place was depressing. The fried noodles with beef was really bad, the beef was cooked on the street with propane or whatever gas and it was tasting like gas. The spring rolls tasted only so so. Not more to say, we barely finished and went to the restaurant on the side to have a nice dinner.

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Kuching, Kopi O Corner is a charming café that beautifully marries local flavors with an unexpected twist. While primarily known for its array of traditional Malaysian dishes and snacks, this laid-back spot has made a name for itself by serving authentic Nasi Arab that resonates well with the local palate. The presentation may differ slightly from what you might expect elsewhere, but it adds a unique touch to your dining experience.
Came here by walking from the kuching waterfront, around 2KM. Kuching is a walkable city and I like it. Ordered Mi Kolok & Laksa Sarawak. Both tastes great! The waiter was friendly. The shop environment was also nice to chill and lepak with your friends.

Worst place to have breakfast. Karen waiter and manager. Laksa sarawak tastes so bad. Roti canai planta is just planta and so bad. Mee kolok is just so so. Slow service. Rude waiters. Nasi goreng ikan terubok took so longgg to serve. Overall is just a very worst and bad experience with worst and rude workers tq :)

Kopi O Corner in Kuching offers a variety of local dishes like Mee Kolok, Laksa Sarawak, and Mee Jawa in a cozy atmosphere. While many patrons appreciate the prompt service and cleanliness, some have noted a decline in food quality and customer service over time. Prices are reasonable, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
Khai H — Google review
The restaurant’s quality has really gone downhill. The service was just okay. I asked the waiter to wipe the table again, but they used a smelly cloth that made the table worse and ruined my appetite. They also forgot part of my order. The food wasn’t great either, it was much better 8 years ago The atmosphere was bad too :) there was dust and cobwebs on the ceiling, walls, lamps, and even the bike decor. It looked messy, like a haunted house, and the dust triggered my allergies. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience this time!

Sanga Japanese Food is a restaurant in Kuching that offers a fantastic Japanese dining experience. The ambiance is great with its Japanese-style interior design, and the staff are friendly. While some find the food to be decent, it may not be considered authentic by those familiar with Japanese cuisine. The portions are satisfactory, and the presentation of dishes often exceeds expectations. The service can be slow at times, but the overall dining experience is pleasant.
Must go when I’m in Kuching. Super fresh sashimi! 4 stars for atmosphere as there was a small fly circling our table the whole meal…
Haze F — Google review
This restaurant offers some decent Japanese food. We've been dining here for years and have always enjoyed their dishes, especially the potato salad. The service is okay, though they did try to squeeze 11 of us into a small table once despite our reservation. Overall, still a good spot!
Rin — Google review
A dependable Japanese dining spot in Kuching for those who appreciate fresh seafood, traditional preparation, and a calm atmosphere. The sashimi here is fresh, with a clean, melt-in-your-mouth texture that shows good ingredient sourcing. Their sushi rolls are well-balanced, never overloaded with sauce, and the rice is seasoned just right. The grilled items — especially the salmon and unagi — come with a beautiful char and rich flavour. The unagi was tender, glazed perfectly with a rich, sweet-savory sauce, and had a smoky aroma that paired beautifully with a squeeze of fresh lemon. Tofu is a little too hard to my liking and the chawanmushi, we think it is tasteless but it is silky and smooth.
Charmaine B — Google review
One of the best sushi outlet in the city. Plenty of parking spaces and the food served is real fresh. You can order a full salmon course (sushi, sashimi, fried rice , skins ) and able to accommodate for 10 person. Food is moderately priced and reservation is recommended.

Yeow Kee Kopitiam is a bustling coffee shop that offers a variety of delicious dishes and drinks. In the morning, it hosts numerous hawker stalls, while in the evening, it serves simple home-cooked meals from its back kitchen. The place is always packed, especially during mornings and weekends, making parking a challenge. However, visitors can enjoy good value for money with their individual dishes like tomato noodles and bee hoon. The staff is known for being friendly and humorous.
This is one of the best non-halal kopitiam chinese style nearby Tabuan Heights. It is always packed with humans & always crowded, so don't try it if you are impatient person. If you still wanna try, don't go during peak hours. It is full of super tasty, fast service and small food stalls. You can find a variety of stalls inside this kopitiam, foo chow noodles, homemade noodle, ding bian hu, popiah, nasi ayam or babi, dumpling etc. The beverages service is a bit messy & unorganized but the service is quick and fast though. A must try menu here are the dumplings, popiah & homemade noodle (front area). They accept cash only for most of the stalls.
Lisa E — Google review
Yeow Kee Kopitiam is always bustling with customers and it can be quite challenging to find a table, especially during morning breakfast hours — waiting for a spot is almost expected here. One of the must-try dishes is their pork meat dumpling soup. The dumplings are delicious, with a smooth texture and no trace of pork smell, making the soup light yet flavorful. Another popular choice is the laksa which is rich and tasty, served with a generous portion of ingredients and bee hoon. The prawns and toppings give it a satisfying balance of flavor and substance.
Joseph K — Google review
Tried a few dishes from Pang Onn and while most were just okay, the fried rice was a huge letdown. As you can see from the photo, it was way too mushy—almost like sticky rice. Definitely not what we expected. Prices were also on the higher side, which made the whole experience a bit disappointing.
Rin — Google review
I was having a national day breakfast at this kopitiam. Order teh c ice drink but is surp sweet with no teh taste. Despite reminded on the drink required. Food roti is nice with butter n kaya toasted. The “ 水餃「 is nice at RM10 per plate but very big piece. As for laksa is nice but the chicken meat is tasteless. Hope can be improved. Kampua is nice will come back again.
Ing N — Google review
Tried the homemade noodle stall just in front of the shop. Taste is not bad. Also tried the pork paste “Wanton”, tastes is not bad. Personally, I preferred the normal Wanton with mince pork.
Martinus L — Google review
This place is always crowded and hard to find a parking especially in the morning until noon. So, I would like to choose the evening time. And I like to order the ginger pork with rice and lady finger which are very delicious and good taste. Their food price is reasonable. The staff is nice and humorous.
Yalun H — Google review
Has a good selection of food but it is often crowded. The chairs are stool style so it is best to dine in quickly rather than lepak for a long time at this kopitiam. The laksa has a huge portion but the flavour is very mild, almost diluted, so it was tough to finish. The dumplings were pretty good and tender, one of the most famous dishes here.

Just a short nine-minute stroll from Noodle Descendants, it's an ideal place to unwind with some delicious treats. While the food is generally well-received—especially their affordable chicken pies that have become a weekend favorite for many families—the service has seen better days.
The best and cheap chicken pies i found here. My daughter love it and we kept coming here in weekends. Sometime I takeaway. Variety of pastries we can choose from. Ala carte menus are also not bad. Just some of the ingredients not available although we come early morning. Food serving is very slow because we came early. I’m sure the chef isn’t ready by the time they open the cafe. The food menus are simple and good price.

Honest review....its no lonher as good as what it use to be. Not worth the money we pay for. Prices of pies almost as Secret Recipe's pie price. Apple pie taste so bad. For Food: I like the chicken cheese and beef cheese pies, its recommended to have than other pie. For smoky hot beef pie, i don't know if there's difference taste with the beef cheese one, for me, same taste. The lasagna ok, like awam taste, nothing special. the cottage pie ok nothing special, it just that day i got a bit burnt on top of it but still ok. Next, the lamb pie, its somehow taste/smell hanyir from the meat they used, so i dont really like it, also i dont think its exceed the dates from its made it just the meat itself, smell hanyir. so, for people dont really care about the smell, the taste is still ok 5/10, but the meat. For pastries, apple puff and banana cheese puff too sweet. if blueberry puff its sweet and just nice to eat. it is more balance than the other 2 puff. next, matcha cheese tart, the matcha taste is ok not too strong but the red bean combination is not suitable for me. it kacau the taste of matcha with cheese itself. i prefer matcha cheese itself without red bean. blueberry cheese tart i love it just nice and balance. Lastly, for muffin, both double chocolate and vanilla, the taste/smell of vanilla extracts (i think) too strong. and if you eat them time sejuk, the muffin rasa kering, and when you eat it, akan rasa muak and rasa haus after eat it. Overall, the pies, if makan time dah sejuk, rasa still ok same goes to the pasta. For the service, the staff are okay and mesra, still be polite, recently there's only one staff work, a bit hectic there but still can serve customer with patiently. For the atmosphere, a bit kotor, the lantai the meja. 2 last week i came, i sit at one table ada like crumb bread. there's 3 or 4 staff there, i don't remember. and for the toilet, ok, xda horsepipe but weird the toilet tissue got all wet when i used the toilet.

We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our stipulated booking time. Upon entering, we were greeted demurely by one of the waitresses. We were ushered to our table and the menu was brought out soon after. They offer a huge range of dishes that should placate most of your cravings, from poultry to seafood or even some Middle Eastern cuisines if you fancy some. We ordered the lamb and chicken chop. When the dishes arrived, we were taken aback by the portion, it was HUGE! For those of you who are cost savvy, you'll love the amount they provide here. The food itself was positively delectable. The chicken was cooked to a nice juicy crunch while the lamb, tender and flavourful. The only letdown was the mashed potato. The texture was far from smooth and flavour wise, it could use a bit more butter and salt. My beloved and I will definitely come back here for another bite when there's a special occasion. Those of you who love Western food should definitely give this place a try.

At first I was a bit skeptical to go here as some said the food isn’t that nice. Food was delicious and yummy and somewhat didn’t have to wait too long for the food either. Lovely ambience, not too busy. Lots of food and drink choices. All the food that we ordered were yummy except the marination for the lamb chop was a bit too much and too sweet for me. We came for lunch on Saturday. It was the best lunch-out I ever had with my family - we were the only customers from arrival till departure! Felt like having lunch at home but with a different kind of cozy environment, and romantic 80's-90's ballads playing softly in the background. I like the portico lamb chop the most, even though it looked unappealing at first glance. The meat was tender, juicy, and none of that typical 'lamb meat odor' that often puts people off lamb. Same goes to the chicken chop- tender and juicy throughout without being dry. Kids really loved the pizza and the crunchy chicken nuggets. Drinks were okay, nothing special as we only had iced milo, ribena longan, and hot latte.

Good parking. Ok Ambience but the bell to attract a waiters attention is annoying and destroys the atmosphere .Staff are ok .The roast chicken was almost inedible .The chips/fries were cold, the salad doused in bottled cocktail( thousabd Island) sauce .The chicken leg had been frozen, and the meat and bone was dark brown .It did not have a good taste .The gravy was good .

Restaurant
Kolo mee Red is a traditional Sarawakian dish featuring dry egg noodles blanched and seasoned with shallot oil, pork oil, and vinegar. It's then topped with sliced char-siew (barbecued pork), minced pork or beef, leafy greens, prawns, cuttlefish, pork balls or wanton dumplings. This iconic dish reflects Kuching's culinary heritage while adapting to modern tastes.
Red kolo mee sold by an elderly man and woman, located on the corner side facing Electra House. Despite the name it’s not spicy, and comes tinged with a hint of red. It’s tasty with springy noodles and worth it for RM5 for a small bowl. The food court was pretty quiet on a Saturday 11:30am with many empty seats and stalls. Maybe it’s more active during other hours.

Actually it is open in the morning and noon by his brother. Taste are identical. I love drop by after visit Indian street. Love it! ( Review on 6 jul 2025 10am )

Open Air, one of the legend spot in Kuching. This is one of my go to Kolo Mee. The special about this Kolo Mee is they used straight noodle instead of Sarawak signature Q (curl) mee. Got mee pok as well. The red one taste slight sweet like the cha sau sauce but slight. Noodle is well cook and the taste always maintain the same. If not mistaken day time is usually the elder brother thats cook and at night is the famous uncle that cook the kolo mee.

Quite a lot of customers. Overheard the kolok noodle owner said some people tapao the noodle to KL and UK. For me, the taste is not bad. As per the siew bee, it does not suit my taste. Soya bean taste nice. The place is very windy

I ordered the twisted noodle red kolo mee. The noodle was al Dante and the sauce mixture tasted really good and not too sweet. So far this is one suit my tastebud. Service is fast and staff are friendly too. It is near the Indian lane at the food court (red color roof)

Came across mini food centre during evening stroll. This is among few stalls open in evening. Noodle is served with red sauce, not spicy. Cooked just right. Ordered the big portion with different ingredients. good taste but a bit pricey at rm18
Christopher T — Google review
Wanted to try the red noodles after the other day was passing by. Normally in hawker centers and street food when they specialize is because they are really good at their single or limited offerings. So this is the case, the cook controls the noodles to perfection so you get this kind of sweet taste red noodles spot on. They look spicy but they are not.

Nestled conveniently on the way back to your hotel, John's Place is a beloved dining spot among locals in Kuching. This charming restaurant offers a delightful array of Western cuisine and baked rice, but it's particularly renowned for its fish head bee hoon—where you can savor both fried and boiled options. The cozy atmosphere extends beyond just the food; John's Place also doubles as an affordable hotel with warm-hearted owners and diligent staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay.
Their cafe is one of my fav hangout lunch spots when I'm in Kuching. It's really so underrated. If you wanna eat like a local and still get amazing food, John's place is for you. Try their Ayam Penyet. The chilli is amazing. Also, their John's special fried Bee Hoon. You just can't get the same quality in Peninsular Malaysia. If you like herbal tea, try Sarawaks Peppermint drink. Basically their version of herbal tea. Really enjoyed it. Or the frequent tourist fav 3 layer tea.

Johns place is exactly what I love, eating with local people cooked by locals , family food , Im from Spain and my Squid 🦑 dish was cooked perfectly with plenty of spice , been here 4 times never disappointed, if your European like me or even worse American, don’t come here then write a negative review it was 3 star for your 2 dollars , stay away from eating at local places for local people that want to enjoy authentic food, keep to your tourist trail , if you don’t have nothing nice to say , say nothing at all 💃 or call yourself Boss Man 😂👿

April 2024 : Cantonese Mee RM10 portion is a lot, nothing to be upset about but I cannot think of anything special to say. I can taste the MSG but it is not too bad, just acceptable. The ingredients are boiled well. The egg drop could have been better. Good friendly polite service. SPay and DuitNow are accepted. I wanted to try the laksa, three times, no luck, two times close, today not available. I do not mind coming again. I finished my meal.

The rooms were cozy and tbh, this so called "John's place" is one of the best budget hotel in the city. The owner both were nice and warm and they still are! The staffs were hardworking and helpful in so many ways. Will definitely visit again. And ohya, they too, have fine little cafe that serves varieties of scrumptious dishes and the prices were reasonable! And don't forget their 2nd budget hotel nearby called "kuokpin hotel" a few blocks away. Such a great experience in my honest pov. Thank you John's place!

Borneo Asian Food by SugarBun is a delightful culinary destination that has garnered a loyal following thanks to its impressive menu, particularly the soups. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere with modern aesthetics and friendly staff, making it a comfortable spot for diners. Among the must-try dishes are the mushroom soup and Sabah giant garoupa soup, both served warm and bursting with flavor. The generous portions ensure great value for money, especially when paired with their tasty fried rice.
Super fast and friendly service. Accepts credit card, DuitNow and cash. There’s additional seating upstairs, and the whole place was clean and comfortable. Was here on a Friday evening and it wasn’t packed. Noticed lots of GrabFood delivery riders too - looks like this place is really popular for deliveries.

Firstly, the food is good and service not too bad. But today, (16/3/24, around 3.35 pm), my husband and I walked in to take away our food to break fast (berbuka). Usually, I’ll check my orders before I leave. Sadly, I didn’t do it today. We ordered 3 pieces of chicken and we thought we would at least get 1 thigh or meaty one, but instead all 3 chickens were so small. Disappointed. Guys! Please check your food before you leave. Avoid getting disappointed when you’re hungry.

A more modern take on an old local favorite, Really nice & clean aesthetics, friendly staff and good atmosphere, small but not necessarily confined , still comfortable. There are numerous places in Kuching where one can find delectable Bak Kut Teh. However, allow me to present Lao Zhi Hao Bak Kut Teh, a renowned stall that has been serving this dish for over two decades. This establishment is known for its exceptional dry Bak Kut Teh, which is widely regarded as the finest in Kuching. Additionally, they offer a wide variety of condiments to enhance your dining experience.
Came here around 11:50am Food served very fast & efficient. The boy waiter is very cute & very polite 👍👍👍 Bak kut Teh soup 👍👍👍 Mixed pork special (small) Rm21 Rice / oil rice Rm2 each per bowl. Needle mushroom Rm5 per bowl Sabah vegetable Rm9 per plate. Total: Rm39 After 20 min, more customers, almost full house. Both of us didn't order drink.

June 2025 We came back after passing through this 肉骨茶shop several times. Good flavor and generous portion. Served many great cool drinks with the soup. I’m also happy I can purchase other food from the stores in both side. By the looks of the crowd, this location has many loyal customers. Both dry and soup were flavorful. Will love to revisit if we are nearby.

Toby D — Google review
Generous servings of spare ribs with bits of peripheral pork belly, stomach and placenta for the soupy ones. The dry variety has all the cuts from the pork leg. Not as much selection as other places, however, the broth does a decent job.

MUST eat the meat with garlic, delicious. The garlic will boost up the taste. Must eat yoo tiao with the bak kut teh. Dip the yoo tiao in the bak kut teh sup (yum). Price not cheap but not too expensive. RM31.30 for 3 bowl of rice, 1 bak kut teh with sup, 1 dry bak kut teh and 1 bowl of taufu. The store close early when I visit today. 7.30pm already no more, so need to come early.

When exploring the culinary delights of Sarawak, one cannot overlook the iconic Tomato Mee Kampung Stampin Baru. This dish is a delightful twist on a Cantonese classic, featuring crispy pre-fried noodles topped with a rich tomato sauce that makes it an irresistible comfort food for locals and visitors alike. Often referred to as "mee dawai" or wire noodles due to its unique presentation, this dish combines crispy noodles with egg gravy and an assortment of seafood and shredded chicken.
Ordered the Tomato Crispy Mee with Wantan and also tried the Tomato Wantan and both were satisfying. The portion & price is reasonable. The tomato flavour is well-balanced, not too sweet or sour, just nice. The crispy noodles stayed crunchy for a while even with the gravy poured over, and the wantan was tasty and fresh. There are plenty of seats available and ample parking, which is always a plus. The waiting time however was a bit long, likely due to the high number of orders, but the service was excellent~ friendly and efficient staff. They also accept QR pay, which adds convenience. The only downside is the limited drink selection, but the food definitely makes up for it. Recommended if you're craving a good plate of Sarawak-style tomato mee.

One of my favourite hometown foods would be crispy noodles and crispy fried wontons. The best time to come for dine in probably around 630pm-8pm is not too crowded and you may parking front of their house or opposite shoplot parking 🅿️. There’s no menu shown here but you may check it out yourself for the foods that on other customers table. Is extremely hot here without any fan provided for dine in, you can bring your own portable fan if you do have kids together.

The tomato mee and kolo mee are the favorites here at this residential house converted to an eatery. Popular among the neighbourhood families for dinner and you may need to wait for an hour during weekends. They have good fried kuey tiaw with aromatic wok hei too. The house is located below the flight path of planes landing and taking off from the nearby airport. Also, there is no washroom for customers.
Wai L — Google review
Homey (literally) kopitiam at a big corner house with classic Sarawakian dishes. Crispy tomato mee and kolo mee are among their top dishes, but they also have other noodles and fried wonton. The drinks are canned or packed (fruit juice) as they don’t brew fresh drinks.

Mui Xin Laksa @ Lau Ya Keng is a popular food stall located in Carpenter Street's Lau Ya Keng, which has been transformed into a lively food court featuring Sarawak's iconic street food. The laksa served here is highly praised for its delicious flavors and generous portions. Despite being situated in a local food court, the quality of the laksa surpasses expectations.
Am back here again after 2 years. Am a loyal fan. This time I will try to 'ta pau' - takeaway to bring back home. Let's see if it survives the plane ride. Lady owner was pretty obliging and will try her best to bungkus it properly. Rm9 for a normal bowl. Opens from 8am to 4pm (or while stocks last). Very authentic, very pretty, very aromatic. Best Sarawak laksa in the world!!!
Helen H — Google review
I came to visit this place to try it out because I read about it on social media. Visited on a weekday lunchtime and it wasn't crowded at all and there weren't other customers. I ordered a small bowl of laksa and sat down. The female staff didn't take very long to prepare and served it to me at my table. A small for a price of 9RM I thought was rather reasonable looking at the amount of ingredients in the bowl. Quite surprised its a hawker setting but the dish was so well plated. Finished the laksa and didn't feel satisfying to be honest. It was a decent bowl but there is nothing to rave about it. Very average bowl. I had to order some satay to complete the meal. Satay was not too bad either and I thought the combination was not bad and felt more contented. Reasonable price for a normal bowl of laksa with relatively big portion but its just overall very average. Worth a try, it was my first bowl of laksa in Kuching.

I love this place. Along the beautiful lane of Chinatown. The vibe is awesome. In that area there's lot of Sarawak food to choose from. Mi Kolok, Laksa, buffet of breakfast. I tried Laksa Special. Finished it down to the very last drop.

It's just a basic Malay style food hall with a Laksa stand in the middle on the right. I came here to try the highly recommended Sarawak Laksa and was not disappointed! I had the basic Laksa for 10 MYR and it was great. A simple good value local dish. I will come here again for laksa
Ahn W — Google review
It’s a small area with about 6 food stalls with one specialising in pork satay (they were delicious) shop beside fish ball soup (again delicious especially with the chilli sambal condiment) and then the Sarawaken special laksa which I had a few days ago. The broth is the key here. Not spicy at all however you can add chopped chillies if you like (I did near the end) Comes with seafood- a few scallops, plenty of prawns. Set the bar high as far as laksa’s are concerned
Michael S — Google review
Shared tables with other stalls in Malaysian style. The Sarawak laksa was delicious (i tried the classic one), among all the ones I tried in Malaysia, it was the best! Nearby there was also a satay stall, but unfortunately they had run out. Still, they looked really good!
Mattia A — Google review
It's a food stall in a local food court so don't expect much about service and atmosphere. The food, however, is amazing. Downright the best laksa I've had in Kuching. Hot broth at the right consistency, you can taste the individual herbs in it, prawns are fresh and the chicken meat was succulent. What else you can ask for? Seriously this place is really worth the try. Pair it with jus kedondong from neighboring drinks stall and you're good to go. We also ordered pork satay from another stall nearby. All good. Happy belly and happy traveler.
Anissa S — Google review
The best Laksa in town 😋🤤. I love the rich flavour of the soup, I can smell and taste the herbs but it's not that strong. The one I ordered is the medium one , perfect size for me (I skipped lunch after that 😄) Avoid coming here during lunchtime or on the weekend, not easy to get a table .

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Beef Noodle / Ding Bian Hu at Jong Hua Kopitiam. This unique dish features flat rice noodles that are skillfully prepared by spreading batter around the edges of a hot wok while simmering flavorful broth in the center. The result is a deliciously rich and aromatic soup that perfectly complements tender slices of beef, making it an ideal choice for families and those seeking comfort food.
This is probably my family’s favourite place for beef noodles and ding bian hu. The broth was so sooo delicious and had so much flavour to it. The boss and lady boss were so friendly and generous with the serving of beef and broth. The yummy beef was so soft and very easy for my elderly dad to chew.
