I recently dined here for dinner during a week day. Uni sushi and geoduck sashimi were quite fresh and tasty. However, the sushi and sashimi platter and the fish roe fried rice was just ordinary so does the spicy stir-fried clams, which was highly recommended by the waiter, claiming it was a must-try. Unfortunately, as someone who grew up by the coast, I found this dish didn’t quite match my expectations in terms of flavor. On the positive side, the service was friendly and attentive, which made the dining experience pleasant. While some dishes were a hit and others a miss, I appreciate the effort and hospitality of the staff.

I live in Woodbridge and have passed by Koganei on Hwy 7 almost every day—now I regret not coming in sooner. The food here is spectacular. Out of all the sushi places I’ve tried (and I’ve been to many great ones), my favorite roll is right here—it’s called “Woodbridge.” Absolutely amazing. The first time I tried wagyu beef was also at Koganei, and while I can’t compare it to other wagyu, I can confidently say it’s better than any steakhouse I’ve been to. Tender, rich, and unforgettable. The oysters? Hands down the best I’ve ever had—big, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish I’ve tried so far has been excellent. Also discovered a new favorite beer here—Orion, a Japanese beer I’d never tried before. Smooth and refreshing, perfect with the food. Highly recommend this hidden gem—don’t wait as long as I did to check it out!

By far the best sushi in the GTA. Authentic and amazing. Our family has been coming here for the last 20 years and it has always been consistent and doesn’t compare to any other place in my opinion. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh and taste amazing!

Another excellent lunch experience at Koganei where food and service always rank top. The server was attentive and knew the restaurant menu well. The manager Sarah was very friendly and welcoming. The quality of the food was very high and we enjoyed our meals. I had the Sashimi Donburi and my friend had the crab roll.The fish portions were generous and well assorted. We look forward to be back soon!

I had an amazing experience at Koganei Japanese Seafood! The sushi was of exceptional quality—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding; the staff was incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. When we arrived, the table I had booked wasn’t ready as it was still being cleaned, but the team handled it well and even offered to move us once it was ready. However, the spot we were seated in was perfectly fine, so we stayed there. One unique highlight was their own line of green coffee, which I found really cool. I picked up a 4-pack to try, and it’s pretty good! Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Still the best Japanese seafood and sushi restaurant in Vaughan. Been coming for years and it only gets better. Had dinner last night with my wife and daughters and food was fantastic and we were treated especially well as always. Highly recommended if you want the best quality.

I came for AYCE during lunch time, and it was quiet and relaxing. I had a great time ordering food and there were so many options (even for vegetarians like me) to pick from. The dishes arrived in 2-3 minutes which was very fast, while the staff was attentive and friendly. I paid with cash and they even gave me a discount for that, which I appreciate. The taste was great and the portion size was also reasonable (not too much and not too little for AYCE). This place would be great for groups of 2-4 people since I didn’t see a very large booth when I was there. Also, I really really appreciated that the music was not loud and people could hold a good conversation here. For all sushi lovers I recommend this gem right on the side of Highway 7 in Vaughan!! PS. I'm not sure why my review didn't upload. I've been having so many problems with my reviews not posting properly. 😒 I visited this location three or four months ago with my bestie Ryan. We enjoyed the AYCE menu and had some Sapporo beers to compliment our meal. The sushi and sashimi were so fresh . The service was incredible. I've never had food arrive so quickly to my table, in all our years of sushi dates. I loved every dish I tried. I will 100% return to this location .

Best sushi I've had so far. The volcano roll was our favorite. The food was delicious and fresh! We also had the fried rice and pad thai which were equally delicious and flavourful. Lots of options on the menu with something for everyone. Kids enjoyed it too! The service was good and the restaurant was clean. Overall, great experience!

Last week I had the opportunity to visit this amazing establishment with my best friend! The atmosphere was wonderful, food was amazing, as well as probably the quickest service I have ever had in any restaurant.The staff were kind and friendly. We enjoyed every minute here. By far my favourite dish was the general Tso chicken hands down. I will definitely be visiting again in the near future, and recommend to anyone in the area who wants all you can eat sushi to stop by here!

Let's start with what ever happened to this place went from thriving to omg. First charging a 2 year old $12 to eat who ig you ah e kids k ow they don't eat much... the salmon sashimi had a weird taste. The making rolls are so tiny and the shrimp tempura rolls can definitely tell you not real shrimp very tough. Not to mention the steamed broccoli coming out black moldy stains on it. This place needs a serious health and safety to come visit

Worst experience ever. I been going to this place from past 3 years as it’s been my go to sushi place. I definitely do not recommend this place no more since staff is very rude. There’s one thing called having a bad day but another just being disrespectful. Me and my best friend met after so long as came here for all you can eat. First we ordered appetizers and then we got judged for ordering just bunch of items because the moment we went for the iPad and ordered mains as in sushi, the lady came to us saying if you don’t finish what’s on your plate we will charge you. And she said this very rudely. She was judging us and how much we are eating. We were being watched the whole time while eating. Also they speak to us rudely and honestly I told all my friends and family to come here. All my relatives and family only came here because of me but now I will tell them not to come here. They will be losing so much business because I felt very uncomfortable and so did my best friend. This not how you treat customers, don’t open a business if you can’t be polite…

Great vegetarian options. We tried veggie explosion, mango and a fried sweet potato rolls. The taste was really good, one star less for the service we experienced. The guy was in such a rush that he couldn’t wait to hear our full order. Asked for a beverages menu and it came in so late that we decided not to order anything to drink. Taste was good though.

We ordered a sushi set from this restaurant expecting a high standard, based on the reviews and reputation. The presentation was nice, the fish tasted fresh, and the variety was solid. However, we were quite disappointed by the very small portion sizes, especially the nigiri and rolls. The slices of fish were thin and shorter than usual, and the rice portions were also minimal. This didn’t feel like the experience we expected from a restaurant — more like a budget takeaway set. For the price and the image of the place, we expected more generous and traditional sizing. Hopefully this was just a one-time issue, but it definitely affected the overall impression.

Came for Omakase dinner. The experience is fenomenal!! The sashimi was fresh and sweet, sea eal was tender and juicy. Definately coming back again!

This rating is specifically for the "crispy" beef we got in our delivery order. Thinnest slivers of meat in thick, dripping grease, soggy batter with a side of nondescript dipping sauce and heartburn. I wouldn't be so disappointed if I didn't have a decades-long otherwise always happy connection with this place. Something has changed

I came here with a girlfriend SUN AUG 3, 2025 for lunch. I had a salmon bento box. It was very good and flavourful. The waitress we had was very kind, warm and fulfilled and catered to us with a warm and friendly attitude. She only works on Sun and Mon. I didn't ask for her name. I will surely go back as the inside was cozy, food is great and it's hospitable.

Nasty staff. See photo of Uber eats order. It includes free spring rolls. They refused to give them to me and messed up my order by swapping ribs for BBQ eel 🤮 Rude staff threw in ice cream and it had soy sauce in it. The food was as disgusting as the attitude of the woman working there who I guess is the owner. Will NEVER eat there again.

Been here few years ago, I remember I liked the place. Things went downhill a bit like some of the reviews mentioned here. As a professional reviewer of AYCE shops, I have no choice but lower the stars, and I mostly give 5 stars even for a ton of imperfect restaurants. The Cons (why lost 3 stars): - The 1 thing I disliked most in a Jap AYCE happened here: LARGE "rice to ingredient" ratio. This is a malpractice to scam patrons into getting full with rice quickly, especially for newbies. Even my children could sense it, saying this place puts way too much rice. My pix can't do justice of that as I stopped taking pix in the worst half of the dinner, mood was gone. - Child hurt his tooth by chewing on a hard string (see pic) mixed into the Ramen. (likely used to prepared pork belly) Disregarded. - Very low craftmanship and accuracy in sushi. (See comparison picture) Ichiki make roll looked great on display, but it came out: 1) Without the torching 2) Without the avocado and green onions 3) A fully cooked salmon instead of a charred salmon 4) Worst, "cut corners" on salmon 5) I can ignore the very bad spread - All of the above signifies a struggling kitchen with owners that cut corners. - Despite being very below average compared to its competitors, this place still charges the same upscale price. The Pros (why i added an extra star): - The staff were nice - The variety is decent, it's not fully common anymore to find ramen, and also with a nice (but too tiny) pork belly inside. - The veggies options are nice, and not as badly submerged into starchy sauce as some other places. It even has grilled price mushrooms which was nice. - The speed is good - The maki with mango was refreshing - Despite us leaving a ton of rice out on the plates, no complaints from staff. *** I would wish to re-evaluate this to a 5-star one day, when I hear they decided to cut down rice ratio by half, and actually spend time putting the rightful ingredients and steps back correctly. This location has so much potential.

Good selection for a la carte and all you can eat

Pretty decent spot to grab some Japanese and Thai food! The staff were patient and willing to help you at any time. The food was good and came out fast so we didn’t have to wait too long. They have some unique items on the menu that other places don’t have. However, the reason why this place is not a 5/5 in my eyes is because the quality of some of the food is okay (not bad but not great) and I’ve definitely had better elsewhere (such as the Takoyaki). Overall, I had a good time here and will definitely come again soon.

Been here multiple times for the AYCE and the food is always fresh and tasty. I do find the menu a bit limited especially the desserts, all of them contain dairy or wheat. Would be great if they changed up the menu and included more options to accommode those with allergies.

We chose this restaurant for a last minute lunch and we are so glad we found this gem! We had our kid with us and they were very accommodating with children. The food was so delicious and the service was fast and friendly. We have tried other all you can eat sushi places and they haven’t really met our expectations, this place definitely exceeded expectations! We will definitely be coming back!

Great all you can eat buffet. Tasty appetizers. The torched and flamed sushi, short ribs, beef, tempura vegetables, salad… the taste was spot on. The hot and sour soup could be better however overall this place is worth going back. Lastly their customer service, the ladies were responsive and kind.

While most of the sushi was fresh and flavorful, a couple of rolls didn’t quite hit the mark, lacking the complexity I expected. However, the overall experience was fantastic, with great presentation and a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the attention to detail and the variety on the menu. I had such a great experience at Kyoto Sushi in Vaughan! Tiffany took care of us and she was incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout the entire visit. She made sure everything we needed was taken care of and checked in on us with a smile. On top of the amazing service, the food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The combination of great food and Tiffany’s outstanding customer service really made the experience memorable. You get what you pay for Tried this all-you-can-eat sushi spot recently. The price is definitely cheap, which is great if you’re just looking to fill up without spending much. But in terms of quality, it’s pretty average. The sushi rice was on the hard side and lacked that fresh, slightly warm texture you’d expect. The fish and other items were okay—not bad, but nothing memorable either. It wasn’t busy when I went, so service was fast, but the overall atmosphere felt a bit dull. If you’re on a budget and not too picky, it might be worth trying. But personally, I wouldn’t go back unless I was really just craving sushi on a tight budget.

We ate here for the first time, and it was great just like any other AYCE sushi restaurant. I loved the tempura dishes and this place had my favourite type of strawberry ice cream that not any other sushi restaurant had. The sashimi was thin, possibly the thinnest I’ve ever seen, but I assume it’s bc we ordered AYCE. If you got these sashimi portions for a la carte then it’s not worth the money lol. Service was fast and friendly! It wasn’t busy when we got there and it was quite cold where we sat.

Was greeted by a kind young waitress as soon as we walked through the door, was seated fast and attended to quickly, we ordered on a piece of paper and our food didn’t even take 5 minutes to come out, talk about great customer service, they came to our table to check in many times (in a good way lol) and the food was hot and fresh! Wayyyy better than the mandarin and definitely worth the recognition. I definitely recommend the mango ice cream, best ice cream I’ve tasted, tastes like Melona ice cream but better! Top favs there are their salmon sashimi, shrimp tempura & beef teriyaki. Definitely worth visiting <3

Good value for the price, and great quality for an All You Can Eat spot. While they have high quality, there are minor opportunities with the service. The foods don’t come out of the kitchen quickly, and the quantity might not match your initial order. Also you get kicked out right st the closing hour mark. Overall, I would definitely go back.

My overall experience today at Shogi was good, but given my choice of All You Can Eat Sushi in the area, I would probably choose somewhere else. It is a small location and when we arrived there was a couple just leaving. We ate mostly in an empty restaurant with 2 additional tables sitting about halfway through our meal. Not what I was expecting for 12:00 pm on a Saturday. The food itself was okay with a couple of items that I felt were really well done (Beef soba noodles and the deep-fried gyoza). The noodles were cooked well, nicely firm with great bite and flavor. I also liked the hand rolls simply because they were big. It was filled with stuff and not too much rice. My was just the regular Salmon Hand Roll. On the downside, the rice was cold and too firm. It did not taste fresh like it had just come from the rice cooker. Perhaps the rolls were pre-made and kept in the fridge, then cut to order? I won't speculate as I wasn't watching, but if the restaurant reads this, the rice let the rest of the food down. The service was good. The servers were pleasant, and the food came out quickly. Given that we were the only ones in the restaurant, I wild expect fast service, but even the hot food came quickly.

I recently visited this cozy Japanese restaurant and tried their sashimi bowl The presentation was impeccable: delicate slices of tuna, salmon, and possibly hamachi, all nestled on a bed of finely shredded daikon and fresh greens, with a slice of lemon for brightness. The fish was undeniably fresh — soft, clean-tasting, and expertly sliced. Each bite melted in the mouth, especially the buttery salmon. Portion-wise, it’s on the smaller side, which makes it perfect for a light lunch or as an appetizer to share.

I think we found our new go-to sushi place! Huge (seriously huge!!) rolls with tons of fish and it tastes amazing! The service is also great! Zion was super friendly and attentive. We are definitely coming back for more!

I recently visited Aroowha and was really impressed with the quality of the food. The sushi was fresh, and the fish portions were very generous compared to the rice — exactly how good sushi should be! Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, and the overall dining experience was great. I’ll definitely be coming back — this is a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. This is our favourite sushi place. We come every Friday and order the lobster roll and salmon avocado roll. The best part about their specialty rolls is that they are massive. There is a ton of filling, and less rice. The rolls are very generous. They also make the best miso soup. Everything is very fresh here. It’s all made fresh to order. They also make a yummy sashimi salad with a spicy sauce that is out of this world. The staff are all very friendly, they make us feel special because they always remember our order. It’s always the little things that are appreciated.

This is a great sushi restaurant. The salmon was fresh and tasted great. The portions were good. The flavour of the spicy salmon was good. Miso soup was an average miso soup, I care more about the sushi quality anyways when I'm at a sushi restaurant. I will come back to try the tuna and other options next. The place itself is a bit small and needs more ventilation, and that is my biggest complaint which isn't much of a negative. If you drink green tea, you have to ask for it, and we were given just a cup and not a pot until we asked for a pot. Come eat here if you live at all nearby

We love this place! Thank you, guys! The best Japanese restaurant in our neighbourhood for sure. We always have ordered take-out, and today, we got amazed at how nice the food can look. We love spicy crispy. We came late at 8:50 pm, right before closing, but got a chance to eat.

I am so surprised by how good and fresh the sushi was, I have been in that plaza so many times but never noticed the place. Went for lunch and had a family boat for two, it starts with extremely delicious miso soup and edamame..for starters we got yam tempura since I am allergic to shrimp, it was surprisingly tasty. You also get seaweed salad and a pop each. For the mains you get two rolls and an assortment of sashimi and nigiri, all of which are the chef's choice. You also get an option of bulgogi or teriyaki beef/ chicken..went for teriyaki beef which was tender and flavorful. Overall the meal was filling and delicious. Will recommend the spicy tuna roll and the salmon nigiri. Definitely going to visit again!

My first time trying sushi and I'm glad I had it from here! I ordered the Crispy Spicy Salmon special roll and Chicken Katsu Bento from the lunch specials. Both were delicious and the plating was beautiful! I will definitely come back to try out other items from the menu. This place serves you two things. One of the best sushis on the planet and the best attitude ever. I have been their customer from the day they have started and to this day they just get better. Joseph ( the owner) is one of the best guy I have ever met in my life and I learn a lot from him (you probably don’t know what I am talking about unless you go and see him).

Picked up their $45 "chef's choice" sushi platter today and got a full box of cucumber, avocado, sweet potato and fake crab meat. I could barely find any fish. I have been a loyal customer to Sushi Wa for years and this is totally unacceptable. I requested refund immediately and I claimed if they don't refund it I will never go there again. The waitress explained the situation to the boss and all I can hear is:"this is not our fault" and the boss yielding "go ahead (not visiting our restaurant again)". Fine. I guess this is my fault going to your restaurant. If you see this and insist on going there, god bless you.

What a horrible dinner experience. My fiance and I decided to go out for sushi. We ordered 12 rolls containing avocado in all, and as we were eating it, she noticed little dots on her avocado. After opening up the sushi roll we discovered that all of the avocados were spoiled, rotten, brown, grey, and disgusting. It made us feel sick to our stomachs and made us lose our appetite. We made it clear to our server, who also agreed it was disgusting . Her explanation was that they got a bad shipment of avocados and told the sushi chef to be more careful when making sushi rolls. If the avocado is rotten, that does NOT mean it is safe to use. If you received a bad shipment, why is it being served to customers? The server still made us pay for one person which equated to $50. We will never be ordering or coming to this place again. For people who do come here, watch what is being served in your food.

We always go to this restaurant, however today when my daughter and i went we for lunch and we found fish bone in my eel hand roll which I told the server and she apologized and then i found plastic on my salmon sashimi. I just didn’t say anything after but i really felt like the food are being rushed to come out of the kitchen.

My usual go to place to eat sushi with friends and family when I'm in the area and never experienced any issues. Came on Monday civic holiday to eat all you can eat buffet and one of the meat dish didn't taste good but tasted more like freezer burn and we waited more than 30min for our foods to come, to which majority never came in our last order for mains. The servers made us feel rushed to get out and pay when we only ate there for an hour, it wasn't busy that majority of all tables were occupied and not close to closing time at all. The server rudely placed the pin pad machine on the table when we asked for the bill. Won't be coming back.

Family and I went to this restaurant. We had a reservation for six people. We were sat down immediately to our grill station. The service was good. We all got our appetizers then the cook came out and started the show. Overall, the food was good. They have Sriracha sauce to kick up spicy for your rice. Because the rice is not spicy originally. This restaurant is a good for a one time experience because it is a little pricey. Great for birthdays for special occasions. They also have some sushi options for appetizers. Dynamite rolls are highly recommended for appetizers in my opinion. The fried ice cream was the least favourite it tasted like pre-portioned, frozen dessert slightly heated not fried. Good place. Nice show and great service. Well done staff 👍🏻👍🏻

Came here on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday, we were a group of 8 and 2 kids under 3. The servers/ cooks everyone we spoke to was nice. The food however was terrible, and such a low quality especially for the price you’re paying. The rice is so dry and there is 0 flavour, steaks has 0 flavour and the salads were soggy. The utensils your served with are disposable plastic. We wanted to order more appetisers and wanted to ask for some extra stuff but there is no waitress/ server that came around after our order was taken. It also wasn’t busy at all I believe it was us and 2 other tables. Our bill came up to about $580 for 8 people. Would definitely not recommend unfortunately.

Reservations for 9 and it started off with an onion volcano fire. Great show allowing chefs to perform culinary skills. The lobster tail was a hit. Worth coming back. Wonderful service. We had lots of food on the plate. You can ask for hot sauce to make it spicier.

We had an amazing experience! We had a large group party, and over 12 individuals attended. Our server Cherry was wonderful. She demonstrated professionalism and patience. Even with such a large group; bills were split accordingly; having not one issue/concern by any of the guests, which is very commendable. I look forward to bringing my family there to share the Hibachi experience with them, too.

Drove by this place so many times and never knew what we were missing. It looked too expensive to be honest, but very glad that we were wrong. Finally decided to give it a shot coming back from some Ikea shopping, and it was quite an experience. We did not do the whole cooking performance thing, but I'm sure that would have been great as well. Special mention to our waitress, "Som". She was super attentive and took really great care of us when we were there. We don't find that quality often when we eat out, so our thanks for looking after us.

Very cool to have a chef cook in front of you! The performance itself was not very impressive, but it's easy for me to say that when I'm not the one doing it. We shared the table with another family, which was fine. It was amusing to see the kids equal parts ecstatic and worried about getting singed eyebrows (no eyebrows were singed, btw, but broccoli were caught. That part was cool!). The chef's cooking tasted wonderful. I went with some friends, so we were able to try a bit of everything. I got the chicken yakisoba, and it came with lots of noodles. The chicken and vegetables were delicious. I was certainly full by the end of it. I didn't like the spicy miso though. It lost all the taste that I associate with miso soup. Mild regrets getting it instead of sticking with the one that comes with the meal. The cold salad was nice and crunchy for me, but not for my friend, so it varies. The price is comparable to meals of a similar portion that I get elsewhere, and you even have the added experience of the chef, so I would say it's a pretty good deal for special occasions. I would take out-of-towners to this place.

We had a great experience. It is a bit pricy, but for the experience and atmosphere, a bit of a premium is to be expected! We were pleasantly surprised that all the food was so flavourful and cooked to perfection! We all got the Deluxe combo which was $58 for filet mignon, lobster, salmon and chicken. I ordered the chicken yakisoba for my kids and it was delicious - highly recommend! Overall happy with service and ambience and would return!

This is a great spot for sushi and poke - literally get them both together if you can! I definitely should have taken better photos 😅 but the food is so good. We had the salmon and tuna poke bowl with the torched unagi. They were both delicious, and didn't leave us feeling bloated. This place is efficient, creative, and has great options. Definitely looking forward to trying the rest of the menu ✅

This is my go to sushi place! Ingredients are fresh and the flavour is amazing! Honestly would not be able to tell you what's my favourite thing from the menu is but definitely not a fan of the black caviar as it tastes like metal. Amazing presentation and quick service! 2 items and you'll definitely be full!

This place is not kidding when they say that they offer premium fish and fresh ingredients!! Some of the best sushi I’ve had and it keeps its taste even for takeout. The dining area inside the restaurant is pretty small so if you have a party of more than two, I would strongly recommend you consider take out options as they don’t do reservations and there’s no guarantee that you will have space. The packaging is extremely high-quality and elevates the entire experience 5/5 stars

Great ambience, delicious and high quality food! Attention to details (packaging etc) and presentation is incredible! It was also quite fast although there were a lot of orders to dine in and take out.

The sushi here is so fresh and perfectly seasoned. We got the two people tasting platter and two rolls on top of that and it was so much food. I would saw the two people tasting platter can be enough for 3 people. After eating a bunch of the torched sushi it does get a bit greasy but the flavours are really well made. After you order, they give you a buzzer and the wait time is around 20 minutes so there is a bit of a wait.

The sushi is fresh and tasty and always beautifully presented from the food to the packaging. The wait can be a bit if you come during peak hours but can always order ahead of time. I got the tasting box and I loved it - has a little bit of everything and so yummy!

Excellent sushi and poke bowls! 😋. They can get quite busy, and the seating is limited. I see more people doing takeout here. The staff are friendly and work really hard to move the line. Definitely recommend.

The service is amazing and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The positive energy is felt the second you walk in. The food is delicious! Amazing for seafood lovers. THE FLAN IS TO DIE FOR! Amazing flavour and really fresh ingredients. I ordered the Birria Plate to go and had about a 20 minute drive home. It was still perfectly hot and the meat was so tender. I definitely recommend visiting this place to dine in or out!

Might be a new fave spot! Ordered the Rock Shrimp - crunchy, crispy, spicy and creamy sauce! Outstanding! Tiger Roll- full of flavour and great crunch! Luigi Roll was exceptional and something I have never tasted before! Our server gave us all these as recommendations and they all hit the spot and were on point! Decor and atmosphere authentic! Can’t wait to check out the patio this summer !

Had a dim sum craving but didn’t want to drive too far, so we stopped by Szechuan Szechuan at Vaughan Mills for a quick fix. We were on a bit of a time crunch, and unfortunately it took over 40 minutes for the dim sum to come out. That said — when it finally arrived, it was so worth the wait! The har gao and siu mai was perfect and totally hit the spot. If you’re not in a rush, definitely give this place a try. 😊

We ordered quite a bit of food for four people and had enough to take home. Our order included 2 Satay Chicken (6 skewers total), shrimp & avacado hand roll, Hot and Sour Soup, Chicken Corn Soup, spicy salmon roll, Crispy Ginger Beef, Basil Chicken and Szechuan Fried Rice with Chicken. Everything was very tasty (5/5) and although the chicken corn soup could have used a touch of salt. My only issue was that the order took a very long time - it was about a 30 minute wait for our food. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. All in all it was an enjoyable family experience after a day of walking the mall. I would certainly return to the mall simply to eat there.

I was exploring Vaughan Mills while visiting from Vancouver. At first, I wanted to go to the food court but nothing excited me. I suddenly craved for noodle soup, so I went into this place. At first, I was a bit confused as there was a drink stall and a sushi stall in front of this “restaurant.” Then I purchased a braised beef noodle soup and was given a ticket. It looked like a mini food court inside where you could get your own water. Looking at the ticket, I realized I was in their “fast dine” area, basically it was a section separated from the restaurant to allow customers eat their take out food. Noodle was put in a take out bowl, while the broth was put in another take out soup tube. The amount of beef and vegetables was generous, even though I preferred more noodles 🍜 The broth was flavourful. You could also get extra soy sauce or hot sauce like getting your own take out if needed. The place was not perfectly clean, but was acceptable. I was there at 4:40 pm in a Tuesday afternoon, so there were not many other customers and I could take my time. Meanwhile, quite a few people came in for take out, I assumed this was quite a popular spot. I saw two boys came in just to get some water. The staff saw it but did not say anything. It was surprisingly kind of them.

Hands down the best chinese cuisine I have tasted in Canada. We were in Vaughan Mills and wanted to try this place, surprised didn’t go in before, cause Now anytime I am there shopping, will probably only eat from here. We ordered the Veggie Fried rice and Crispy Ginger Beef for lunch, the dish served was more than enough for the 2 of us. The rice was great and the beef was too good. Great service from the servers, highly recommended!

do not come here!!! the food is okay, but a BIG red flag is they hover over you while paying and will comment on the amount your tipping/ put it in for you. a couple times i have been before they include the tip unknowingly, then proceed to watch you add an extra 15 percent.

It is alright. Large venue, nicely decorated. The food is not gourmet but not bad at all, the portions are meant to be shared, the prices are reasonable. 2 entrees and an order of fried rice are more than enough for 2 people. There're not too many restaurants in Vaughan Mills so if you don't feel like eating at a super busy food court, this is the place to go.

We ordered the soft shell crab, which was perfectly satisfying, and a bowl of sashimi that’s great for sharing among four people. Every dish we tried was exceptional, from the sushi selection to the beautifully presented beef and chicken teriyaki. Whether you're dining solo, with friends, family, or a special someone, this spot is perfect for celebrating and hanging out. We walked in without a reservation and were quickly accommodated. Great value for the quality—highly recommended!

The host put us in a booth near the back by the washroom and then we were forgotten, and no waiter ever came to us until we went out to grab a waiter. The waiter took our order then again we never saw them again, no water, no tea, no appetizers, nothing. After about 25 minutes we again went to grab a waiter, they brought us the tea, water, soup, salad and sushi all together. It was very unpleasant waiting so long for the food and drinks then getting it all at once. The table took up too much room in the booth, it was difficult to get around the table to sit down. After we left the restaurant and got home we both had to run to the washroom. I will never go to this restaurant again.

Our family has been meaning to visit this spot for quite some time now, but with their operational hours, we found it difficult as on many occasions, we wanted to come by but they weren't open. Finally, we managed to come by on a Sunday around 7 pm. There was a good number of customers with the dining room filling up more and more as the night went on. They were never at full capacity though, so no waits for tables. When we arrived, we notified them that we were a table of four and got directed to sit in a corner booth area. We really liked his spot as it felt private yet still in a good spot to be seen when we needed to wave someone down for service. The employees were very friendly and we were always served with a smile, alongside responsiveness and politeness. Once seated, we were offered tea or water, as well as menus. With our order, we were served complimentary miso soup and salad. We opted for their medium sushi and roll platter which was beautifully plated on a wooden boat. The pieces were average-sized, fresh, and beautiful for the eyes as well as tasty for the tongue. The ratios of rice to fish/other toppings were good. I especially enjoyed the unagi sushi which was very flavorful, as well as the spicy salmon maki which had a nice kick and crunch to them! They were not stingy with the ginger or wasabi, but the wasabi was lacking on flavor - it really didn't taste like anything regardless of the amount you add. The other dish we ordered was their Philadelphia rolls which were also well made with a good amount of salmon and cream cheese. The decor is minimal but appropriately themed with little ceramic details and even a (fake) cherry blossom tree. Overall, the place was clean. Their washrooms were also okay and decently spacious which was good. The staff really made sure to greet us on the way out which was really nice.

My first time eating and doing take-out delivery with Kibo Sushi House - Woodbridge through DoorDash delivery was an absolute fabulous experience! My delivery arrived within 10 minutes of me placing my order. Excellent service, indeed! I ordered the Teriyaki Bento box, which was $19, but the choice of protein in which I chose the bulgogi beef, added on another $2. So, in total, it was about $22. My order contained white rice with black sesame seeds and seaweed sprinkles on top, a side of soba/ japchae noodles, very flavorful bulgogi beef with some stir fried veggies underneath, , as well as salad and soup on the side. To my surprise, when I had opened my delivery package, I noticed I was gifted with a FREE fried chicken box, plus 1 fried veggie mandu, and 1 fried broccoli, with a “Thank you” note on top of the box! This lunch was the highlight of my day, to be frank! I had such a delightful experience with Kibo Sushi House - Woodbridge, and would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for pleasant Japanese food! Hands down of the bestest restaurants I’ve ever eaten at 👏 10/10 ! The only minor thing that I would improve would be the miso broth, as it quite plain to be honest and is lacking umami, but other than that, the food was awesome and the portions are even better in real life than online! There were more veggies and carbs than there were of the salmon that I even had to add in leftover tofu I made the night before to add more protein to the meal. Also, this time around, I didn’t get free chicken like before, but I understand they need profit, so it makes sense. However, I’m wondering if the Uber Eats receipt stating that I paid less made them act this was or not. Because I didn’t pay $18.31 for this lunch nor got special offer , but I paid the full $21.92 for it. I wonder if this price miscalculation on Uber Eats part made them react this way or lessen the quality of service. Because for $21.92, I’m expecting a bit more salmon. I probably won’t be ordering here again, but if I do, then I’ll just order the beef only as the beef was more of a generous portion.

I always enjoy visiting Kibo Sushi in our neighborhood. Sushi tastes fresh and portions are huge. The rolls are really tasty. Prices are reasonable and orders are quick. It’s no wonder this spot is so popular. There’s a great variety of rolls and combos to try each time I’m here for a quick bite.

10s!!!! I still think about the sushi I had till this day.. prob top 3 in GTA 😍 they got a $33 deal for 3 diff types of sushi and it’s more than enough for two people - depends on hm u eat but the quality is top tier.

Me and my family often get takeout here but I sat in store for the first time. Their food is as always gorgeous, and their store is more of a takeaway place atmosphere wise but still provide very friendly and nice service for dining in. We came for lunch and they have some amazing lunch deals, but we opted for our favourite rolls. Highly recommend the spikon roll with soft shell crab topped with salted egg yolk! If you’re a fan of uni, the uni here is VERY fresh and not fishy at all. My favourite sushi place in vaughan and definitely stands out from the other all you can eat places in the area

Some items are hit or miss here, I would say this sashimi rice box is my favourite. It’s always fresh when I order and the rice is perfectly seasoned.

This is the best sushi spot in Vaughan! I’m a regular customer and I’ve been eating here for years now. The owner is super friendly and always greets you with a smile. Feels like home every time I visit. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and they package the sushi in cute little boxes! Would highly recommend the sushi sets

Great experience. The restaurant inside was clean and the layout was so different. The quality and detail that the sushi chefs put into the presentation of the sushi was astonishing. The taste is always good, texture made each bit more and more enjoyable. I would definitely return for more and recommend.

The sushi here is so high quality. Every single grain of rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. Such a delicious menu!! The sushi is also huge and worth it for the price. If it days 8 pieces, you’ll be pretty much get a 16 piece portion. We love the salmon!

The fish has strong fishy taste I don’t really like it. Besides that, the fried rice was really really delicious and also the dessert bar. Servers are friendly and helpful.

I visited 168 Sushi in Vaughan for their weekday lunch special, and it was an outstanding experience! For just $24.99, the all-you-can-eat menu offered a vast selection of fresh sushi, maki rolls, and even unique items like spicy salmon pizza and torched wagyu sushi with truffle and caviar. The ordering process was seamless with their iPad system, and the service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. It’s a fantastic deal for sushi lovers looking for quality and variety. Highly recommend! 

I had a great experience here, the food was delicious, the staff was nice, the interior is so aesthetic and overall everything was great! The food took a little long to come but that was good for us because it gave us time to recharge our stomachs lol, i didn’t have time to try all the food and desserts because we came late and restaurant was closing at 9:30 but it was still time and money well spent!

Service and time limit was very good we didn’t feel like we have to be in a rush. But the quality of food was under quality even for a AYCE. The sushi ,especially the raw fish slice. It was warm and soggy. The shrimp tempura the top pieces was hot and fresh but bottom pieces was cold. Most likely from extra orders. Not a good practice in my opinion.

The food was great ! Lots of variety. I’m someone who doesn’t enjoy most sushi - but I found myself branching out a bit here. The cheese wontons and veggie spring rolls are so yummy! We tried a bit of everything and for the price of $39.99 each person, it was so worth it. Definitely recommend.

The 168 Sushi Buffet was delicious! What makes this restaurant unique is that your server is a robot. Overall, this all-you-can-eat sushi buffet is a great place to dine with friends or family. The dishes are scrumptious and definitely worth the money.

The food was mediocre at best. We enjoyed the potato side dish. The staff are well trained, but the service we received could be better. Since we were a big group, our table was not prioritized. The tea was rarely refilled, and our order took a long time to arrive. I bought Gal’s Special, the total came to around $21 after tax, and $25 after tips. Note, this was for either 8 or 10 pieces of sushi. Taste wise, the food was mediocre at best. Price wise, it’s also not the most friendly. But they can accommodate seating for large groups. They also allow you to pay with separate bills and credit.

A Korean run establishment offering both Japanese and Korean food. The food was tasty and some of the dishes had a unique visual presentation. The wait staff were polite and attentive. Go earlier if you don’t want to wait for a table.

Lots of selection. Food very good & tasty. Very noisy place, small 4 seater tables. Bench seats have no lumber support. Lots of parking in underground, but very narrow entrance and small parking space. Ground floor parking always chaotic. If you park underground, you need to enter from backdoor.

Gal sushi has been around for long time. I'm visiting in person after a very long time and it did not disappoint. I got their sushi lunch bento. It's not premium if it's very good quality and excellent value for the price you paid. We also got the pork bone soup (forgot to take pictures) which is great as well. I noticed they have a premium sushi set, will come to try again some day.

We have been coming here for many years, and thoroughly impressed by the quality of food, the quantity, affordability, friendliness of the staff and overall cleanliness. Today, we were over the moon when they surprised us with a valuable that we accidently left here one month ago. They returned this item to us a few minutes after we sat down. To the staff at Gal's Sushi, thank you so much for keeping it safely over the past month and returning this item to us today! We are very thankful and you made our day 😊

Had an amazing meal here while in town for work. The gyoza, sushi, glass noodles and potatoes were a stand out. We also had fantastic service 10/10 recommend! We ordered the gyoza, A2 sushi platter miso soup, house salad, sesame glass noodles, potatoes, and edamame with hot tea.

The food is okay, it's nothing special but the atmosphere of the restaurant and service of the staff is amazing. If you're looking for a place to grab a late dinner, hang out with friends with decently priced sushi. This is your spot, came here to wait for a concert at Lee's Palace, it was a fun dinner. All in all a fun time.

Second time eating here! My friends and I wanted all you can eat but unfortunately they didn’t have that option! But! Ordering the combos and the bento was more than enough hahaha we had to pack some of the food home cuz it was too much! The sashimi was sooo good! Fresh, soft and huge pieces! The sushi was also great, full of fillings and it they comes with salad, miso soup and ice cream!! The food taste so delicious and the sashimi are so fresh n staying at a chill temperature. The servers are super friendly with excellent service. Good atmosphere and it’s perfect to have a party or friends gathering there. But you need to make an reservation ahead and they will prepare the rest and the best for you. Honestly, I can’t find anything that need to be improved and it’s perfect. This is my first time to write a review on a restaurant. I am so lucky that my friends have invited me to try this amazing sushi restaurant.

When I first went here years ago the food was great and so was the service. Now the food is good and the service is almost nonexistent. I shouldn't have to wait from a reservation at 7:30 until 8:20 to have the food start. Nobody came to check if we needed other drinks or a refill on our water. So many places expect a tip and you barely get service this is one of those places.

Tried the All you can eat buffet. Was really worth the money. It was my first time trying a sushi place and I didn't know how to properly handle a chopstick. Better YouTube ahead and learn the basics. The staff were really polite and courteous. The orders were placed thru a tab and they started serving instantly. The service was really lightning fast. As I said earlier this cuisine was new to me but I really enjoyed it. They had a ton of options to choose from and ull surely get confused. Must try ! (P.S. they charge extra if u waste food.. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Every item came out so fast and made-to-order. The staff are very nice, polite and hospitable. The patio was open and had a roof in case it rains. A lot of parking spots available. Overall everything was very good.

This was my first Teppanyaki experience and I am in complete awe and utterly speechless. I am very happy, pleased, satisfied and entertained, it was so much fun! I'd pay anyone who gives good service since it's hard to find these days. Definitely coming back! Was very much worth every dime, penny and dollar.

The all you can eat isn't worth it. They don't have much of a variety and the only thing that changes is whether they add cucumbers or avocados with different sauces. The rolls they give you has Soo much rice. It feels like they put so much rice to try and fill you up faster.

It looks like sushi from supermarket and I can get it from Loblaws for $15🤣 This demonstrates how important the store location is - it's smart that they choose this area where competition is less. You can see the Japanese style in there. I remembered the old movies in my childhood. We ordered a boat with 40 pieces, and we enjoyed it. The price was fair. Regarding services, they were late taking our orders because there was a staff shortage. I went to the front desk to say we were hungry! The rest of the meal was great. I recently visited Gonoe Sushi and overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience that I’d gladly recommend to sushi lovers looking for authentic flavors and good service. This restaurant is awesome. I had almost given up on sushi in Toronto - there aren't a lot of spots that I enjoy anymore. Everything here just hit the spot, from the service, to the environment, to the sushi. It looks non-descript outside but there is more than meets the eye. We ordered the small sushi and sashimi boat ($59). It came with around 40 pieces - 6 maki rolls, around 15 sushi pieces, and the remainder sashimi. There were various types of fish, my favorite was the tuna. Some of the fish tasted more fresh than others, but I wasn't too bothered by that. I would definitely reccommend this boat - the presentation is top tier and the price is reasonable. We also ordered a chicken karaage as a starter, which I didn't 100% enjoy - it was tasty but not what I expected. The outer shell is a bit hard for my liking and there wasn't enough sauce. I'd get something else next time. Also appreciated the free edamame to start. Overall it was a very fullsome meal and ended at around $100 including tax and tip for two people. Pretty reasonable in Toronto, and the meal could have been done for cheaper if you ordered a dinner set each or skipped on the fancy presentation. Definitely recommend!

A hidden gem of a restaurant, excellent quality food, lovely atmosphere, in a simple setting. Good for families, has private booths, and takeout is popular. Reservation is recommended as it does get busy. There are lots of other Sushi 🍣 places in the area, this restaurant's food tastes much better and has better service. I would definitely come here again! Dine-in for large groups is too small and recommend contacting them first. Limited parking available and is free.

Great atmosphere, we asked to be seated outside on their patio and it was really pretty. Presentation of the food was on the fancier side, something you would get at sushi places that cost $100+ but it leaves you feeling like the quality of the fish should at least match the presentation. Staff was friendly, they offer a discount if you pay in cash.

I’ve done takeout order from this place twice. Both times they have served raw fish and put it on top of all hot items in one bag. If you were handling raw fish, then you know that you have to bag that separately only with cold items. If you’re gonna put it into a bag with hot items, then you put the hot items on top of the cold fish Because hotter rises. This is how you kill somebody with food poisoning. I’m going to be calling the health inspector for this area tomorrow and making sure that somebody gets in there and explains this to them before they kill somebody.

First time trying this sushi spot.I've been driving by here for years, and I finally tried it. Met my friend for lunch we ordered a salon poke bowl and sashimi tray. I didn't realize how affordable the menu was until I got home. Wish I had paid more attention to the menu, but my friend and I were just chatting too much. The serves as good. Very quiet even though we went for 12 pm wasn't too busy. Urber orders were busy as I saw people doing their pick-up. The food was amazing! Fresh and we didn't have to wait to lobg for our food. I will definitely go back for some other items on the menu.

How did this place pass the inspection?! Decore: Waitress asked us to sit in a room that could have been a storage room! The wall was taped with a plastic bag, I guess under construction, and then a fish tank that was covered with plastic and empty! Everyone was cramped into that small room, even though the entire restaurant was empty! The kitchen from outside looked untidy and dirty! Food: The waitress cleaned our table with a dirty rag, and the table smelled like stinky socks! The soy sauce plates had already dry food on it! The food was not anything close to being fresh, and the beef teriyaki was cold! They brought our dipping sauce in a cracked little bowl! EVERYTHING about the food was disgusting! Feedback: We have rated their service right in their tablet and advised their waitress about ALL of these comments I made here! She said she will pass it to the owner. IF the owner cared anything about their business, they would not let the situation get to this LOW! I don't want any discount nor I ever asked and will never return! This place should either clean up their act or close down. The one star was for the sweet and attentive waitress!

This place just isn’t the same as it was a few years ago when I first came here. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark this time. Our waiter barely checked in on us—I didn’t have water for most of the time we were there, and it was never refilled. For an all-you-can-eat spot, they give you an iPad to place your order, which is fine, but the food took forever to come out. We were intentionally ordering in smaller portions to space things out, but nothing was arriving. It wasn’t even busy, so it was strange. We were on a time limit and had to leave within the hour, but after waiting quite a while, I had to ask the server what was going on. She made it seem like we were being impatient, but after speaking to the kitchen, it turned out they hadn’t even started preparing our food—they hadn’t noticed the order on the screen for the past 20 minutes. When the food did finally come, it was underwhelming. The sushi just wasn’t great and definitely not the same quality it used to be. And to top it all off, both my brother and I got very sick that night. We had terrible stomach aches and what felt like mild food poisoning. Overall, this was a big letdown and not the same place I remember. I won’t be returning.

We went for the dinner AYCE which costs about $30 per person (pretty standard price in my opinion). Order through an iPad, great service - food comes out very quick, staff is very nice and joked around with us even though I'm sure it was a long day for them. Food was great for AYCE! He was really nice and got us everything we needed really quick. Food/Menu/Pricing? We ordered off an Ipad. It is all you can eat and it's around $30/person. There is a lot of cool options to choose from here. The food comes out really fast - so fast you feel like they just pre-made it and it's been sitting out awhile before they gave it to you :/ It was good nonetheless and I would recommend the crispy squid, the garlic beef, and the salmon sashimi! The mushrooms on a stick was pretty good too. Didn't love the ice cream, the deep fried banana, the beef tataki, or the Sichuan beef.

We love the sushi party tray we ordered and salmon teriyaki. We ordered it by Uber eats but the delivery man forgot the sushi. Manager called me and delivered it by himself. Very nice service. Their sushi is okay, but they don't give you nearly enough soy sauce for what you order. And they ignore special instructions on UberEats. Soy sauce isn't on the UberEats menu, so I added spicy mayo to my cart and asked for extra soy sauce instead... I really hate to write a negative review, but honestly this sushi was horrible... I've had better sushi from the grocery store for a fraction of the price. My "bbq eel" roll literally had a sliver of eel in it and the rest was just avocado and cucumber? The sushi rice was dry and honestly just tasted like regular steamed rice, and only half of my spicy whitefish rolls had spicy mayo in them... The chirasi don was ok; not exactly possible for them to skimp on the fish when it's sashimi, but again, the rice was dry and was basically just steamed rice and the tobiko was missing. Also the "salad" that came with my order? 2 pieces of iceberg lettuce. Literally I would've rather them saved the waste of styrofoam and given me nothing. I'm all about supporting small businesses, but for this price and horrendous quality, go and support literally any other sushi joint.

I actually ordered here twice. We got red curry rice twice (beef and chicken), pad thai twice (beef and chicken), spicy chicken skewers, and takoyaki. The curries are cooked really well. The meats are not dry at all. Pad Thai is great too. Those dishes will fill you up. You can even split it with someone because there's just so much. Oh, and chicken skewers were delicious. The takoyaki is my problem. On both the menu and UberEats menu, there isn't a quantity. No one has posted photos of it or a review. My review of them (and my bro's): could be worse. There's no flakes or garnish like most takoyaki. There is 5% squid in it. And one order has 6 takoyaki balls. Oh well, lesson learned - get skewers instead! They're great.

A few days ago, I visited Sano Sushi in Thornhill, Toronto, and had an absolutely amazing experience. The quality of the food was outstanding — from the tender and flavorful rib steak, to the fresh and colorful salads, and the perfectly crispy, light tempura. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you could tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and professional. Sano Sushi is a great quiet spot for AYCE in the area with a calm atmosphere and good quality cuts. I especially enjoyed the fresh sushi over their rolls and the rice was perfectly seasoned with great flavor. The torched sushi was a little heavy and the miso soup did not have as much flavour as other places, but the dragon rolls were tasty. Service can be a bit slow bringing dishes out but the staff are friendly, accommodating and create a relaxed, ambient dining experience. Perfect if you are not in a rush and want to savor your meal.

We visited Sana Sushi last week. I usually go to Mandarin because I really appreciate their quality, variety, and especially the way they treat customers with respect and friendliness. Sana Sushi offers decent quality and a fair variety of food, but my last visit was disappointing mainly because of the staff’s attitude. The people who served the food were very cold and indifferent, showing no sense of welcome or respect. One lady in particular was wearing a mask that completely covered her face, and she didn’t smile or show any friendliness, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. Another issue was their unusual pricing policy — they charged $16 for a child under three years old, and the same adult price for a child under eleven, which is not reasonable at all. Finally, despite leaving a generous tip, I didn’t even receive a simple thank-you from the staff. Because of these reasons, I’ve decided not to return to this restaurant in the future.

Better than expected. We didn't go for the all you can eat but just ordered off the menu. Pleasantly surprises with the sashimi slices, nice and thick. All-round, fresh and decently priced. We hadan 18 piece, an 8 piece, a crab salad, 5 pieces of sashimi and 2 drink for about 50 dollars. Would go again.

Food is delicious , very friendly staff, we went there and ordered seaweed salad and found a hair in it, they don’t wear hair net in the kitchen. We ordered milky mango pudding but it wasn’t fresh and it tasted sour. But the verity is good. And one of the good sushi places in town.

Never brought us our Agadashe Tofu. Food is alright here but the service felt as if they wanted us gone when the spot was half full. Kinda like a glorified Panda Express but with much better sushi rice. If I could leave a 3.5star review I would have done that.

$5 for a few barely-there slivers of avocado that are thinned so much that I could barely lift it with chopsticks. Then there’s these 8 sad, tiny pieces of iceberg lettuce. This offering is a disgrace! First time ordering here and won’t come back. Most sushi restaurants give triple the amount of avocado and way more lettuce. I don’t know how any restaurant owner can take pride in this dish. Dressing was a joke. Watered down, weak ginger flavour and overall clumsy and unappealing.

I never ordered japanese takeout from a buffet before. I was always concerned about the quality. But there was no issue from Aji Sai. Sushi and sashimi was fresh and delicious. Only issue ordering takeout is that the deep fried tofu and gyoza lose their crispness during delivery. I used the skip the dishes app, also for the first time. Very easy to use, and will order from there again. *grapes and beer in pic were not from Aji Sai

Out new choice for AYCE sushi!! Lunch was fabulous with fresh sushi rolls, kalbi, udon and tempura, but no options for sashimi. The grilled fish and grilled eggplant was good as well - perfectly done. We wrapped up with perfect closers- green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream!! It's definitely a decent value, considering that the other closest AYCE option on Yonge Street is more expensive and not that good in terms of quality. Will visit again for dinner next time!

Our first visit, we live nearby but there are also 71 AYCE Sushi places in this North Toronto / Hwy 7 radius. Competition. Thursday night, was 80% full but no wait. Im a sashimi guy; Mackerel, and other stuff was nice. #Caviar sushi? Nice. Wasabi Octopus (Ceviche-like with a fresh kick) big winner, many creative small items to try. You can order ONE item at a time, an AYCE secret. I’m and old married business traveller but with two to three people you can kriss kross this 100 item menu. ❤️ Kitchen items always on point especially the SOUP. Piping hot delicious Wonton Soup and a more delicious ( older restaurant style not buffet ) Hot and Sour? We tried several ice creams, Strawberry was the winner. Chocolate was the loser? Lots of fun on this menu, very fast and warm staff. I’m a GenX with kids man I don’t want downstairs washrooms so bonus for seniors, Moms and mobile users - main floor no stairs barrier free washroom Will be back to try weekend extras, could they add that much value to the price? We shall see.

The sushi here is decent, I’d give it a solid 7.5/10. Nothing very fancy, but it hits the spot if you’re craving sushi without breaking the bank. It’s all-you-can-eat, so you definitely leave full. But we have just two, so we got the regular combo for two, which cost $37.30 (tax included), and it’s a great deal with a good variety (see the picture). Service was quick, and the place is clean and casual.

Great service and cleanly kept place and washrooms. The tempura sauce lacked flavour which is frustrating because it tasted like flavoured water, and no amount of dipping or soaking my tempura would help. The rice in the sushi and in the bento box was stale, but my mom liked it. Nice selection of things to eat though, and the tempura was nice and crispy. Bought a la carte, and service was fast. I’ve been here a lot because I like the foods, but now not anymore. I was very unhappy to most of my food I had orders. They looked like unprofessional make it , when I was these I don’t hungry anymore. Hopefully you can improve

Absolutely amazing! Sushi and fish is always fresh, and the staff is friendly. Everything tastes really, really good. I actually drive 30 km just to come here, because no other sushi spot in GTA compares!

Food quality and portion are way below my expectations. How can they use a takeout container as a bento box. Will not visit again.

My kids visited the sushi place AKITA for the very first time, and they absolutely loved it. The staff and waitresses were super friendly, which really made them feel at ease trying something new. The food was amazing, and what really stood out was how attentive the staff were - they kept checking in to see if we wanted refills on our drinks. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. It was great to see my kids try different kinds of food and enjoy them so much. Plus, the prices were really reasonable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I think AKITA sushi place is definitely worth checking out.

They add on tips without asking you first. Be careful when you buy from here and check the total bill before you pay. Why would I tip for a takeaway? The only reason I'd tip for a takeaway is if you have a conversation with me and help me select my order. I'm not not paying a tip for you to pack the food and hand it over the counter. That's your job! Otherwise we'll have to start tipping everywhere starting from the grocery checkout counter!

The end of day discount makes this place an appealing choice for a quick and light snack. The crunchy spicy roll was good but not spectacular by any means. The inarizushi had a peculiar flavor that made it taste funny. The soy sauce was balanced and came with a hint of sweetness. Overall, it is what you expect of sushi that is served in plastic to-go containers.

Well my sons will eat this food! It looks fresh and the two gentleman were so very kind. The right kind of a snack on a hot day

I have patronized this establishment a few times well. I have enjoyed the quality of their sushi and would have continued to purchase their product if it had not been for the awful experience I had during my visit about 1 week ago. As I arrived about to select my sushi of choice from the display, I heard the guy behind the counter say hi. I thought the greeting was to directed to me so I replied hello but he was acknowledging another customer who had gotten there right after I did. The man behind the counter proceeded to ask the customer if he would have his usual order. I took my prepackaged sushi rolls and proceeded to the cashier thinking the guy would make his way over however, he totally ignored my presence and started preparing the next customer’s order. After a couple minutes of waiting, and still no acknowledgment, another gentleman appeared from the kitchen who I assumed would have come to cash my order however, he also did not acknowledge me and proceeded to acknowledge the other customer, and started assisting his colleague with the customer’s order. I was in total shock and disgust at how they blatantly ignored me. I placed my order back onto the display and left. I will never visit this establishment again!

Good place to get sushi bundles many good choices. I enjoy the crunchi sushi roll. Nice workers too.

Got takeout from this restaurant and had diarrhea and food poisoning an hour later for the rest of the day

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times for lunch, and their lunch specials are fantastic—the food is always fresh and delicious, with a perfect rice-to-fish ratio (their rice is seriously amazing!). The fish is so fresh it really stands out. Yesterday, I finally went for dinner and ordered a small party tray, and wow—it was incredible. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. I’m so glad I’ve finally found my go-to sushi spot in the area!

My work is few minutes walking to this restaurant, so today after finish work I decided to come here to try. I asked for takoyaki and unagi donburi. The takoyaki was delicious!!! I needed to repeat. But the unagi was the star today!!! Its literally the best unagi I ate!!! It was really worth to come here, and to get even better, its extremely beautiful and cozy inside, also Anna was so attentive and friendly with me!!! I’m truly looking forward to come back here.

Been here many times over the years. Their sushi is always good. Service is fast. Recently went for a quick lunch. Ordered salmon rolls and the tempura meal. The takoyaki and agedashi tofu were a little overfried.

We came here for dinner just before the Kevin Hart show. They were packed. Luckily we came before the rush so we were able to get a table without reservations. We ordered tempura and beef sashimi as appetizers, and unagi don (grilled eel on rice) and chirashi don (assorted sashimi on rice) as our main. The portions were pretty generous. Came with free miso soup and salad. There are some areas for improvements such as the beef sashimi is sliced a bit too thick and a bit too cooked, so it was a bit chewy. The unagi don was on a bed of sushi rice, which I wasn't too used to. Generally it should be on a bed of unseasoned rice, at least so I thought, so the vinegar taste of the rice contrasted a bit to the eel. The chirashi came with a pretty good selection of assorted fish, so that was definitely a bonus. Overall, it was a decent meal, some areas of improvements would elevate the dining experience, but I do appreciate the atmosphere and friendly service. This restaurant has been around since my college days some decades ago, so it's a staple in the area. I'm glad they are still around.

I recommend this place. Service was good. We were there around 3 pm. on Saturday. Not too busy inside, but they have a lot of takes out orders. I like decorations inside. Fish was fresh and tasty. We had Philadelphia rolls, which were big and tasty.

Update in 2025: the price went up a lot but the dish is getting smaller - they cut the sashimi to half to make it two! Below was from two years ago : The food was good and near by. I like the sashimi dinner. It provides more salmon and also tuna and smaller portions of other items.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish, everything we got was delicious. Happy to leave a great review for them especially since we needed the service to be quick to make it to a concert and they listened and served us quickly! Would love to go back next time I’m in the area.

This place is pretty overpriced. The food's taste really does not justify the prices charged, as I found the food to be very average. Service was not bad, and the restaurant did have some atmosphere and was quiet.

We’ve lived here for years in the area and decided to give them a try as we were craving sushi. Never again. The salmon was bad smelling and warm and had brown spots. The tuna looked rotten. It looked like corn beef. It was disgusting. Never again.

This place should have higher stars. We always order the assorted maki tray and it's amazing. They make it within 20 min always and the food is fresh. Also to mention, the people picking up the phone are very nice and they've never messed up our order. This is our favorite sushi spot.

This place has gotten much better recently. Their fish was extremely fresh. And served very nicely. Hot food came well seasoned and HOT. The kids loved the food, so we ordered more. Had a dinner for two plus some extra salmon and tuna rolls. They do the cucumber rolls the way my son likes them, too, which is quartered instead of finely sliced, so he was extremely happy. Overall, I'd say we paid the average of what we usually spend on a sushi dinner with the family. $100+tip for all 5 of us. Overall value for price is on par or better than most places. Good quality food. Good quantity for the price. The service started out well, but as the night went on, more tables were seated, and service got slower. They also got slammed with takeout and delivery orders. There were less than 10 tables total, but I guess for a Thursday, they aren't usually so busy. If you're not in a rush, and it gets busy, you'll be fine. We just happened to have kids, so we had to get moving. The service was very pleasant overall, very polite and helpful with the food.

Fast and affordable sushi with good service. This place is always very quiet and empty but it’s really not that bad. Everything is quite affordable and the sashimi and handrolls were good! We went on a weekday for the all you can eat dinner and the 5th person eats for free. It’s definitely a cheaper option than other restaurants in the area but you can get good value for the price.

I was not aware that if one person orders all you can eat everyone at the table must do the same. Manager was extremely rude and told me I should know the rules …….i will never set foot in this place again I would like to extend my sincere apologies for the misunderstanding of our evening last night it was not my intention to be a difficult client I was unaware that I was not able to sample the food even though my chicken was the delicious and my husband mango salad and his rolls were also…. I made an error in judgement and I sincerely apologize 💌

Great place for your sushi and sashimi needs! The fish was very fresh and you could tell it wasn’t frozen. Nice soft bite to that slightly cool fish. The salmon which many people are the most fondest of was amazing! Loved every piece of salmon we had. Amazingly silky and just such a nice texture! Service was great and loved the wood decor of the place. Definitely a nice find just off the Yonge st north york corridor! Great job overall! We wanted to grab a late lunch at sushi moto on Yonge, but the restaurant was closed so we fell upon Ichiban off of yonge. We were not disappointed, in fact we are much better and for much cheaper than sushi moto. Our server was extremely friendly and kind. Went with a friend who is extremely picky and demanding with her orders and the server never flinched beyond friendly and accommodating service. We ordered a selection of sashimi and rolls, seaweed salad, tofu tempoorah and edamame. Delicious jasmine tea and miso soup. Will definitely come back.

We came here and ordered the Couple Sushi set which included sushi and sashimi. As appetizers, they brought us complimentary hot tea, what seemed to be a mini cup of cold noodles in soup, edamame, miso soup, and a salad. These were just okay. The sushi combo was served on two massive plates. I was quite surprised by the wide variety of fish used in the sushi set. On the sushi plate, there was one sushi roll with crab and avocado. As for the rest, it was all nigiri sushi and the fish used included tuna, salmon, surf clam, some sort of fish roe, octopus, shrimp, tai (sea bream) and some other fish that I didn't recognize. The fish were really fresh. Each nigiri sushi also had a dab of wasabi so you don't have to add it yourself.

I’ve order spicy Salmon and Californiana and yam maki rolls and my food was very fresh. They brought us Edamame and green tea and it was complimentary. Their food is a bit pricy but I think it’s fresh and good. They are nice and friendly too. The only thing which is not very important is their decoration is not very nice and it’s cheap. Overall I like the place

In 1995, renowned Master Sushi Chef Roger Shim started one of the first Sushi restaurants in Toronto. It has involved into a destination for Sushi connoisseurs for outstanding delicious offerings. My wife has tried many newer Sushi places with a lot of disappointments. Now it's allows Master Chef Roger's place or nothing

Fast service, really great deal on their dinner special and tasty sushi. What can i say, i got a big stomach and it satisfied me very well. Bang for the buck!

Sushi is good, other items are average. The butterfly appetizer is really good. Service is slow but acceptable when you place your first order. Sitting is comfortable and parking is available.

My girlfriend and I order from here a lot and usually only stick to the sushi which is normally fresh, decent portion and reasonable priced. Today I ordered the shrimp and Broccoli and noticed it tasted a little strange. Then I look at all the shrimp and notice none of them are deveined which is why I think it tasted off. The shrimp were not cleaned. See photo for reference. Disappointed.

I decided to give this restaurant a try after seeing decent reviews on Google, (ordered take out). Prices are about the same as other sushi restaurants in the area. I ordered 2 maki rolls: Spicy salmon and Black dragon which comes in 8 pieces each. In comparison with other sushi restaurants, I found each piece to be rather small. The quality was ok. They offer 10% off with cash payment. If you are looking for better quality sushi, drive a little further east to Richmond Hill/Markham. *review based on an Asian palate who is an avid sushi lover*

Super slow service. Went in for dinner, 25.99, order food through tablet. Waited 40 min for second round of food with 3 people, myself included, in the restaurant. They spent the whole time doing takeout and delivery orders. I saw 7 come and go before i got the food. Food was good. Wouldn't come back.

Nice neighborhood sushi restaurant. Quality of ingredients is excellent but I'd say the rolls are about average. There is nothing mind blowing or incredibly innovative about this place but the food is always as expected. In my book this is a good thing! There is no hit or miss with this place it's always as expected. I cannot comment on other reviewers issues with slow service as I've only ever picked up takeout from this place. It's always been ready on time.

The service was horrible, we had to wait forever for our food and it was good, but not delivering it as it comes out took away from the freshness factor.

Ordered chicken karaage. I was served burnt chicken scraps instead. No idea what it tasted like because it was not edible.

Ordered sushi and it was gross. The fish smelt horrible and the other sushi dishes were also bad. The atmosphere is uninviting as they use the front of the restaurant to store boxes and other miscellaneous items

The customer service here is awful. For this reason alone I will never come here again for sit down. I think their sushi is ok, but the regular food is terrible. Pictured is their “poutine” with cheese that isn’t even melted properly at all. Extremely disappointed. We will never come back.

I ordered fetuchini Alfredo on Uber Eats the whole dish tasted like nutmeg no other flavors. The sauce was slupy tasted pareve. I think it was the worst fetuchini Alfredo I ever had in my life!

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Terrible costomer service. The cashier was absolutely disgustingly rude to us, and when we didn't want to give a tip (bc he didn't do anything for us, and were broke students) he couldn't believe us and actually got mad at us. When I said fine ill give a one dollar tip, he refused it and said "take it for the ttc". I will not be coming back, and that cashier should be fired.

The restaurant just did some renovations. Food is amazing as always. Sushi is always my daughter's favourite and my son's go-to dish is poutine. I ordered a fish tacos this time and they are amazing. Fish is crispy and comes with tasty tartar sauce, top with fresh mango salsa. It is a very refreshing meal for a hot summer day!

This restaurant offers some very yummy and creatively unique menu items (along-side some the staples of what you expect to find in a milchig sit-down place.) The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly. This restaurant is clean and tidy and is always a pleasure to frequent. You always leave with a smile. Well worth a visit!

We really enjoy the food at D’lites and take out large amounts of food ($150-$200) every week. The Manhattan Sushi, Greek Salad and sandwiches, onion soup and pastas are all delicious! Our one complaint concerns the inconsistency of portion size for the pasta. Lately the portion size has shrunk. We called to discuss this with the owner as well as a couple of issues with the Gyoza. The owner took our number and said he would look into this. I don’t know what was done after that. Today our delicious macaroni and cheese filled less than half of the container (2 orders with both containers one third full)... I can’t decide if this is worth the $16. We won’t stop going but may avoid the pasta dishes. By the way, Moshe does a great job organizing our orders!!

I've been wanting to try SU&BU's sushi burger ever since they first opened their downtown locations but never got around to it. So I'm super happy that they've now opened this location north of Toronto. On my visit, I had their sushi burger of course, which did not disappoint. The rice bun was hot and crispy, the fish and other ingredients tasted fresh, and overall it was very tasty. For $9.99, I thought the price was reasonable too, especially since the burger itself is pretty filling. The place itself shares a space with Yogurty's, and has a decent amount of seating. I only wish they had somewhere to wash your hands after, as eating the sushi burger can get a bit messy. :P Overall, a great first visit and I will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

I ordered a build your own bowl for dinner and the bowl looked very yummy! The menu had quite the selection. The toppings looked super fresh and it actually tasted even better. Will definetly be back again.

Came here a couple of days ago and the food was great! Tasted really fresh. Ordered on Ubereats last night and it was done very quick. Will order again!

We ordered a sushi burrito and a poke bowl. The burrito was cold. Not sure it came out from a fridge or not. The poke bowl didn't have mayonnaise so it was lacking flavor especially the vegetables.

This location is combined with a Yogurty’s (frozen yogurt), which is pretty cool. The interior is a bit strange, the Yogurty’s seems to take up majority of the shared space; Su & Bu is stuffed in a small corner. They have a huge area with tables and seats. Upon entering it was empty, besides the 2 employees behind the counter. The staff were very helpful and patient, they suggested sauces and toppings. The food was delicious; very fresh and sauces complimented the meal nicely. I gave them 4 stars because of the wait; I was the first / only customer upon entering and waited about 10-15 minutes.. Also, the employee didn’t remove his gloves when packaging / handing off the food.. this left the containers very sticky and grimy. UPDATE: it seems the quality has gone down. The ingredients are not as fresh and portions are questionable. I ordered 2 bowls, received a LOT of rice and a tiny amounts of each ingredient. The bowls were still left sticky and grimy due to employees not removing their gloves when handing off the containers. I didn’t even bother eating the lettuce, it was browned and looked very old. Ive been here several times and after this last visit, don’t think I will be returning. NOTE: the photo of browned lettuce attached is the portion from 2 bowls.

It's so good! I love the sushi nachos and the gringos delight. The nachos get soft from all the toppings so make sure you eat them quick! 🤤

A decent Japanese restaurant with fast service. The staff are great; food is delicious - a bit pricey though. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant; however, there are more parking spots available at the back.

It is a stylish Japanese restaurant. Their menu isn't a big menu but it does have dinner set, a la carte and combo. Their sashimi is very fresh, the food portion is regular size but the cost is lean on the high side.

Had a delightful experience. The sushi was top quality and us eating every last piece from the plate. If you’re looking for the best restaurant in Thornhill, slide through to Yorokobi!

Authentic Japanese Sushi Restaurant. The menu and ordering food is off of their website which is interesting. The miso Soup was pretty good. I ordered a Vegetarian Combo and it was pretty good. The portion sizes are good. Not over filling.

Hands down, the best sushi selection I’ve seen ion a menu. The menu is so diverse you can hardly choose. Everything tasted great, from the rolls to takoyaki to karaage . Would go again for sure!

Had an amazing time, the food was very delicious. You could taste flavor in every bite. We didn't try everything on the menu, but so far the crab fried rice is my favorite. Decor was good and the restaurant was clean and spacious.

I ordered takeout from Sparkly Japanese and Thai – Vaughan and was really happy with the experience! As a vegetarian, I really appreciate when places have good options, and they did not disappoint. I got the vegetarian Pad Thai and spring rolls, and both were delicious. The Pad Thai had great flavor and the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, while the spring rolls were crispy and fresh. The portion size was generous, and the packaging kept everything warm and intact. I would’ve loved to see a few more vegetarian options on the menu, but overall, a really solid spot for takeout. Looking forward to trying a few more dishes next time!

Great dinner at Sparkly this evening. The variety of foods, the different choices and all you can eat menu made it a wonderful experience. It was priced moderately and the service was accurate. I wish the cocktails would have been a full glass and I did feel a little rushed to order, to eat but I understand they had to clean up for the night. Water was always topped up, meat was cooked nicely and not dry and ice cream offered at the end of the meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in after being intrigued by the on-line reviews and photos. Representative. Snappy jazz vibe hits you when you walk in. Very friendly staff. Here’s the hint: Hit the all you can eat…prepared fresh (bonus). Perfectly set up for large groups…wish I had a full crew in TO to bring here…put this one on the list… Food as crisp as the jazz trumpet on the speakers. A definite place to save and return to!

Excellent food with lots of flavour. A La cart was amazing. Great customer service by Fanny. Love all the Thai dishes and sushi was really fresh. Spicy soups are spicy hot so be careful. Love the garlic shrimp, pepper beef, hot and sour soup, Tom Yum soup and pad Thai. We enjoyed it all. Came back Cici was amazing waitress too. Very accommodating restaurant.

Had pretty high expectations after reading all the great reviews, but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The service was friendly and efficient, and parking was very easy to find. We were a group of three and got seated right away, which was a plus. However, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The only dishes we really enjoyed were the salmon and oil fish sashimi, as well as the torch sushi — those were fresh and well-prepared. On the other hand, the fried calamari, spicy eggplant, beef tartar and several other dishes were underwhelming. Not really worth the price.
