Maison Weibel is a renowned establishment that has been serving artful French pastries, tarts, tea, sandwiches, and breakfast since 1954. The patisserie is known for its expertise passed down through generations and its commitment to detail and quality. Visitors can savor their pastries, calissons, artisanal ice creams, and chocolates in the elegant setting of their tearoom or opt for takeout.
Weibel is my favorite patisserie in Aix en Provence. Their morning pastries were very good and I tried multiple pastries each afternoon during my visit. You can select few mini pastries to try more. My favorite was Paris Brest and Frasier- since strawberries were in season. Excellent people watching .

Very nice place for lunch. Good croque and great pastries. Coffee was nice as well as the citron pressée 🍋 Café is centrally located so easy to use as a quick pit stop for lunch or a snack.
Hannah — Google review
One of the best pastry and lunch spot in town. Whenever I visit Aix en Provence, I have to pass by this little place. Always crowded and sometimes you will have to wait from 10-15min to order, but trust me it’s worth it ! The only thing I don’t like about this place is that it’s just too narrow, so when it’s crowded, you don’t really know where to stand. But beside all that, love their pastries and the food ! Definitely should try at least once !
Nguyen T — Google review
A very pleasant experience and loved that the citronnade and iced tea had no sugar in allowing you to add to your taste. Attentive staff and the croissant was to die for. Recommend thoroughly!
Seb B — Google review
We have been here 2 times in a week. Super delicious the cakes and coffee to enjoy an lazy afternoon here. No other better option in this area.
Ricky L — Google review
Fresh, delicious, and beautifully made. Easily one of the best pastry shops in Provence.
Katy L — Google review
A very pretty and atmospheric spot in the old town. Their specialty is desserts - dessert menu is huge and really delicious! A perfect place for an afternoon tea or for a breakfast. I’m taking one star for the “mess” we have here often when sitting for food - some of the ingredients are sometimes missing and the quality of service could be improved. And be careful with planning a visit in a busy hour - the place is small and you may be unable to find a free table.

What a horrible place. Horrible service. Horrible food. Horror coffee. Just disaster (we are still overwhelming by the stuff's behavior, disgusting).

Pâtisserie Béchard, located on the prestigious Cours Mirabeau in Aix en Provence, is a renowned bakery that has been serving delectable pastries and sweets for over a century. Specializing in the famous Calissons d'Aix, a traditional candy made from ground almonds and preserved fruits, this elegant locale also offers an array of housemade chocolates, cookies, and edible gifts.
Love this place. Have been going there for years: best croissants in town - soft and layered on the inside and crispy on the top few layers and awesome cakes that you must pre-order. Their Royale (crunchy chocolate cake) is my favorite. Yummy!
Cali N — Google review
The shop is a delight for the senses and the pastries and tarts were delicious. Yet what made the biggest impression on me was the kindness of the lovely woman who waited on us. Despite a long line she took the time to ensure we knew the details of each item we purchased. I will remember her.
Dutchgrl1 — Google review
Totally in love with their calisson, my boss gave it to me last year and since then I kept ordering to everyone I know that went to Aix. Finally I went by myself there and tried their other variants! Really worth the price because there, it is sure that the taste and quality is unbeatable! ♥️♥️♥️
Gabriella N — Google review
I went twice a day every day that I was in Aix. It will one of the main reasons why I will return to Aix. The calisson, the fruit tarts, the mushroom quiche. Heavenly. They were also so kind to me. Now trying to figure out if they ship to India.
Aparajita B — Google review
A beautiful patisserie filled with delicious treats. The pistachio eclair was heavenly. This was the first place I ever tried some calissons and they were so fresh and flavourful. A must if you are in Aix!
Brigitte H — Google review
I was excited to try French pastry and Bechard's hit the mark! You're surrounded by delicious treats the moment you walk in the door. I particularly enjoyed the croissant and cream puff but honestly you can't go wrong. Highly recommended if you're in the area! The staff was friendly and helpful.
Michal S — Google review
If there's such a thing as a bad French bakery, I haven't found it. But Bechard's is truly at the top of the chart for beautiful pastries and chocolates. The variety is almost more than you can process. Everything from traditional pastries to chocolates to candied whole fruits and breads. The cookies are exceptional, as well. And everything is presented and packaged beautifully. Staff is friendly and patient. And when we wished the manager Merry Christmas he lit up with a huge smile and hugged us all.

Every time we stop in Aix we have a must see and buy in Bechard of excellent French pastries. This trip we took them with us and ate them with great joy and pleasure right on the bench by the promenade. Great

Dessert shop
Madeleines De Christophe since 2006 is a renowned establishment in Aix-en-Provence, evident from the daily long queues outside. The madeleines are freshly made at their workshop in Peynier and come in six flavors including nature, orange, almond, and chocolate. Customers highly recommend buying at least 20 due to their irresistible taste. In addition to madeleines, they also offer Cannele de Bordeaux which has received rave reviews for its texture and flavor.
The best madeleines I have ever tried! Nice crust in the outside while soft and moist inside. So buttery and rich. Will definitely come back for these lovely madeleines in my next trip to South of France 😋
Simon Y — Google review
Absolutely delicious, and such great value!! We tried 3 different types: chocolate, fondant and lemon and each madeleine was crispy on the edges, fluffy on the inside, and full of flavour!! The staff were also very friendly. 100% worth a stop here for some tasty treats!
Sarah G — Google review
I had high hopes for this exclusive Madeleine shop due to the amazing reviews. I love Madeleine's but I was really disappointed. They did not have a crisp outer layer, but we're chewy and stodgy. The Nature flavour was very sweet, covered in a sugar syrup or similar. I thought that as I had bought mine early in the day (c.10h00) they might need to be left to harden. I kept a couple to try later, but they were the same chewy consistency. The best ones were the Chocolat flavour. Less sweet than the Nature ones, weirdly. I found better ones in town. I found the staff friendly and helpful
Jessica E — Google review
loveeeee the madeleine so muchiiiiee soft on the inside and crispy on the edges ♥️ so yummy! Although it’s famous the wait is not too long and bearable! We try all flavors and our favorite is the praline one! (Chocolate) and the original and almond also nice! The almond have a strong and delicious scent 👍🏻
Mahira P — Google review
Omg! This is the best madeleine I have ever had! The freshly baked madelines were soooo fluffy! The outside was a bit crunchy and inside was so soft. Lemon flavour was so fresh and I can finish 6! The french butter was amazing! miss the madeleines when i was typing this!
Minnie ( — Google review
It’s worth the hype. Go! They told us in the morning they have 7 flavors. We went around 3pm and they only had three flavors left: plain, almond, and lemon. All excellent! Worth the wait in line as well. You will not regret going!
Sophie — Google review
Madeline’s de Christophe is a must visit in Aix en Provence. There is almost always a line but it moves fast and is worth the wait. They have several varieties, personally the Citron and Orange are my favorite. Definitely lives up to the hype, I highly recommend taking the time to visit if you’re in Aix.

Les macarons de Caroline Bouc Bel Air are a delightful creation brought to life by the talented duo, Caroline and Damien. After honing their skills in prestigious restaurants across cities like Dublin, London, Geneva, Saint Rémy de Provence, and finally Aix-en-Provence, they decided to focus on crafting exquisite macarons. Their passion shines through as they experiment with flavors that range from classic favorites like pistachio and chocolate to unique combinations such as strawberry-basil and tiramisu.
Delicious macarons!! Highly recommend.

(Translated by Google) I'm giving it 5 stars because these macarons are the best I've ever eaten. However, the service isn't the same person anymore. This one isn't welcoming, not a smile, and feels like she's bothering you more than anything else. It's a shame.
Mar L — Google review
(Translated by Google) We've been loyal customers of this shop since its opening, but we've noticed a marked decline in the quality of their products since the change in management. The ganaches no longer have any flavor; they're too thick and sticky. The fresh fruit macarons (strawberry and raspberry, purchased today) are more than marginally fresh. The shells have a marzipan flavor that sticks to the palate, crumbles, and doesn't hold its shape. We ordered a wedding cake for our daughter's first communion in December; everyone was disappointed with the taste (the presentation was okay, though). We tried it again today for our daughter's 10th birthday (a tradition since her birth) and it was another disappointment. Even those from Picardy have a more recognizable taste. And what about the welcome... the saleswoman is barely polite. We feel like we're literally annoying her. In short, I bitterly miss the time of Caroline who served us with all her good heart and passion. Not sure we will try the experience again. I don't like to criticize but this really is more in line with the reputation of the past.

The oldest, most authentic calisson and sweet maker in Aix. Worth a visit just for the beautifully decorated building and warm welcome from the very friendly staff. But taste the chocolates, candied fruit, and other goodies and you wont be disappointed. All hand made with traditional methods to very high standards. In the summer they make the best artisanal ice cream in Aix. A must if you want to visit and taste the real Provence.

Takeout Restaurant
Crêpes à Gogo is a popular creperie located on Victor Hugo Avenue, near the Rotonde roundabout in Aix. Despite its unassuming location in an underpass, it consistently draws long queues due to its excellent crepes. The interior may not be impressive, but the crepes are considered the best in town and offered at fair prices for both sweet and savory options. Customers can enjoy their crepes on benches nearby at Parc Jourdan or while walking around.
Friendly staff and absolutely DELICIOUS crepes. Soft, fluffy and delicious! Highly recommend! The store is in the passage under the square. The staff is friendly and sweet,

I come here multiple times a week. Delicious crêpes, consistent quality, so many options, and for a great price! The women working are always very kind as well.
Meredith M — Google review
Best crêpe I've had! So many options to choose from. I had a savoury crêpe with 2x fillings. They are a good price (especially for a tourist), quick, and fulling! Perfect for a brunch or lunch...especially on the go or as you roam the streets of Aix. Crêpes a gogo is a go-to since 1979! You go down into Le Passage which is just an old underground pass to cross the road.

Crepes a gogo is my go to quick lunch spot in Aix en Provence. The crepes are delicious and very reasonably priced. No where to sit down but you can take your crepe up yo the rotonde and eat while you watch passers by.
Kelly B — Google review
Literally the best crêpes in Aix ! It may seem like a sketchy place (since you need to go under the road) but it is totally not. The lady at the counter is always nice. They have an extensive selection of choice and you can even buy raw dough. They have milkshakes in the summer. Completely recommend that place, so worth it!!
Syrah — Google review
So many options - sweet or savory. Highly customizable. I like the ham, cheese, and egg one a lot - very filling too so perfect for lunch on the go. Service is fast and you can watch the master crêpe-maker (?) at work. Plus you can eat and walk around at the same time... not very french but very efficient. In a very unexpected place in an underground passageway but don't be put off by that.

Do you like eating out for breakfast ❓ I used to, back when life was cheaper but, most of all, back when I was not a father. Now that I have a kid, leaving the house can take ages 😓 and it would be often too late to have breakfast. So my breakfast changed into brunches. But when I'm in a place where I know I can find good pastries 🥐 (I mean France 🇫🇷, of course 😜), I love a good breakfast at a café or a salon de thé. And I like it even more if it's an excuse to meet up with my friends, like a few weeks ago, in Aix-en-Provence, when we went to Riederer, Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. 😀 Our friends are not too fond of breakfast but they still had a drink: the 5 of us ate and / or drank something (I even had 3 items ❗) and we paid €20 in total, which I find pretty fair, given that we were in the center of one of the most expensive cities in France and given the quality of what we had. 👍 Cause, without being the best pastries ever, they were still better than most pastries I've had in the last few years. 👏 The place itself was kind of disappointing though. We sat in the corner, which allowed us to enjoy some kind of semi-private area, but the sitting and the lighting were quite uncomfortable. In fact, the shape of the place is weird in general and that contrasts with the look of it from the outside. 😔 The service was kind of slow, even if the staff was nice and accommodating. I wouldn't mind being back there with my friends right now, though. ☺️ Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 8/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 8/10

Amorino Gelato - Aix Foch is a popular spot in Aix-en-Provence for delicious and Instagram-worthy ice cream. The gelato is crafted into beautiful flower shapes, and despite being a bit pricey, you can enjoy up to three flavors in a small cone. The staff are friendly and accommodating, even allowing for multiple flavor choices. Whether you visit in the hot summer months or during the cooler seasons, the smooth texture and wide variety of flavors make it a delightful treat.
We went after dinner and it is way less crowded than the other branches. We had a lovely relaxed time and we were able to sit. The Inimitable + Vanilla + Tiramisu Macaron is a winning combination. I don’t even like macarons but this one was so good. They don’t sell in scoops here. I stead you choose the size of the cup or cone and they try to fit as many flavors as you like in it. For example, if you get the small cup, they can try to fit until 3 flavors if you want.
UnDiplomatic W — Google review
This gelato shop was absolutely delightful! I got to choose six different flavors, and they crafted the gelato into a beautiful flower shape—such a lovely touch. I don’t speak French, but Isabella, who helped me, was incredibly kind and spoke great English, which made the whole experience even better. Unfortunately, before I even had a chance to taste it, the macaron on top fell to the ground. Later, when I went back inside to grab some napkins and throw away my trash, Isabella greeted me with a warm smile and asked how I liked the gelato. I told her her recommendation was perfect, but sadly the macaron had fallen. Without hesitation, she gave me a new one for free! Excellent service, kind staff, and great communication in English—Isabella truly made this place stand out. Highly recommend

Lovely ice cream, even in November I couldn’t resist it! One of the particular reasons why I like them is because you can have a few flavours in your beautiful flower not the standard two flavours! The staff are well trained and very happy to serve you with the smile even when asking for 4 different flavours. Amorino catches me in few places! 🍦🍦🍦

I’ve spent one entire week in France this June/July having ice creams every day from multiple places with our family and friends ons vacation. This is clearly the best one - the clear winner. Best ice cream I’ve had in France.
Ricardo A — Google review
Ice cream is very good. The workers are lazy. There were no customers. Three of them just huddle in a corner, talking to eachother, checking their phones, and grabbing tastes of ice cream for themselves while the sitting area was dirty and disorganized.

The staff took very good care of me and my friend. Tiramisu ice cream is worth trying! I will stay in Aix-en-provence for 10 more days and I plan to come here again and again.

Great ice cream (the lime and basil flavor is fresh and highly recommended!) and great service. The two-flavor cone ice cream costs €5.50, it's expensive but it's really hard to find it cheaper elsewhere. Also you can eat inside the place and it has air conditioning.

Tried flan and baguette here, the flan texture was a bit dense, not so creamy. Baguette was also different from the traditional, it wasn’t crusty outside but baguette is baguette. It was good 😊

Discovered this little ‘hole in the wall’ bakery. Breads are so fresh and baguettes were crispy. We ate in and we saw locals constantly coming in to buy their daily baked goods. Will definitely book mark this place and return again when I’m ever back in France.

The shop features a variety of seasonal options and special flavors, along with cold tea. Customers can enjoy the delightful desserts at small tables inside the lovely shop or take them to go.
Excellent service and excellent mochi. The yuzu citron ice cream mochi is the best in my opinion. Absolutely charming flavour! They also have daifuku of the month special flavours and we got the giant clementine and almond one. It was huge! The mochi itself is very good - like how it is in Japan. The daifuku is solid. There are smal tables inside to sit on and enjoy. No wifi.

I tried a macadamia and a gianduja cookie. Unfortunately I was not happy with the quality of the macadamia one as it was very gritty meaning the dough was not mixed well. The gianduja was better, decadent, but not too interesting. Staff were nice and there is some seating outside.

Chocolaterie de Puyricard is a family-owned chocolate factory located just outside Aix en Provence, known for its exceptional chocolates that are worth the journey. The factory offers an excellent tour experience, starting with a short film about its history and the chocolate-making process, followed by a 1.5-hour tour showcasing the traditional production of calissons and chocolate. Visitors are impressed by the old-school methods used in crafting the chocolates.
Excellent visit to the chocolate factory! Fun for the whole family. The tour starts with a short film about how Puyricard came to be and some information on what goes into making the chocolate. Then the actual tour is around 1 and 1/2 hours. You get to see first hand the making of calissons and chocolate. Super impressive that everything is done the old school, traditional way. The tour guide was fantastic and asked and answered questions. You also get to taste 4 or 5 different types of goodies during the tour. Afterwords there is lots of chocolate treats to taste. Then you can shop and taste test in the boutique, too. Don't miss this. You will not be disappointed! Tours in English are available just call or email to ask for one. Only downside, but understandable, no photos in the boutique or during the tour.

(Translated by Google) As regulars at the great pastry shops, especially Lenôtre, we tried the ones at Pâtisserie Victoire. They are truly delicious and refined. However, the price of over €6 for a single pastry, which isn't Michelin-starred, is excessive. The service at this establishment isn't up to par. The service, however, is professional. There's little choice, and the dining room lacks comfort. The tables outside were dirty when we enjoyed our cake...you shouldn't be too greedy and adjust the prices. The Yule logs look very nice, but when you cut into them, they're mousse and gelatin. At around forty euros per log, you'd expect something better and more elaborate. In addition, the taste was very sour. It's a real shame because we came when they opened three years ago, and everything was very good and high-quality, from the individual cakes to the pastries. (Original) Très déçus! Nous avons commandé des bûches pour Noël, et grosse déception pas de génoise que de la gélatine aromatisée et colorée. Nestled in the heart of Aix En Provence, Chez Biscote & Biscotte is a charming patisserie that beckons with its delightful offerings. This quaint spot features an intimate atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a sweet treat or two. Visitors rave about their exquisite calissons—one flavored with coffee and another rich chocolate—ideal for savoring after dinner. The standout star here is undoubtedly their chocolate croissant, which has won hearts through blind taste tests thanks to its buttery texture and indulgent filling.
Bought a croissant and bread, both very satisfying! Especially the sourdough wheat bread we really like!

I did a blind taste test of all the available chocolate croissants in Aix. Biscote & Biscotte was the clear winner. They deserve a higher score for their patisserie because their croissant was buttery and has very tasty rich chocolate.

Waste of money and time. The lady has very bad attitude, 2 cappuccino, 1 quiche, 1 toast with cheese and ham and a mini dry savory thing €20! Asked for napkins and she counted exactly 2. Seat down to eat it all and was cold, went back inside and she is about to throw in the microwave, I asked for oven which she claimed to be broken and when I asked for the money back the oven magically start working. Worst place for breakfast!

Poor service - worse coffee. Overpriced and not a place I would recommend.

It is horrible here. There was hairs in the Madelines and everything is very poor quality and dry.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful patisserie along the central streets of Aix En Provence. We bought some calissons to take away for after dinner. One with coffee which was very good and one with chocolate. The environment is small and intimate but there are also tables outside.

La Tarte Tropezienne is a must-try delicacy originating from Saint Tropez, France. This delectable treat consists of a sponge cake filled with creamy goodness and has an intriguing history. Created by a Polish soldier using his grandmother's recipe, it has become immensely popular among locals and visitors alike. The soft and creamy texture combined with the light and tasty cream makes it an absolute delight.
(Translated by Google) Excellent Tropezian tart; a real treat! The lady in the shop is very helpful and friendly. I also bought the anchoïade and the black olive tapenade, which were very popular with my guests. I highly recommend for the pleasure of good things ;-) (Original) Tarte tropézienne excellente; un vrai régal ! La dame de la boutique est très serviable et sympathique. J’ai acheté également l’anchoïade et la tapenade olives noires, très appréciées par mes invités. Je recommande fortement pour le plaisir des bonnes choses ;-)

(Translated by Google) Excellent tropéziennes, soft and creamy with a light and tasty cream! The best baguette in Aix-En-Provence (I had to go to 8 or 9 bakeries before finding one this good!) Quality pastries, worthy of the best pastry chefs in France! I really recommend this establishment! (Original) Des tropéziennes excélentes , douces et onctueuses avec une crème légère et gouteuse !
