Doha in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Doha, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Qatar's capital has transformed from a small fishing village in the desert to a bustling oasis in less than a century. Because of its oil reserves, Doha is often referred to as the "City of White Gold". Here you will find one of the world's largest mosques, shopping malls the size of football stadiums, and the Middle East's first seven-star hotel. Explore Souq Waqif, the oldest neighborhood in the city, where you can experience life as it was centuries ago.
With favorites like Mashawi Al Arabi, Villaggio Mall, and Torch Tea Garden, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Torch Tea Garden and Three Sixty Restaurant - 360° so you can get the best taste of Doha while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Villaggio Mall in Doha is a unique Italian-themed shopping destination that offers more than just luxury retail stores. Families with children will find it particularly appealing, as the mall features Gondolania Indoor Theme Park, the largest family entertainment center in Doha. This park includes a variety of attractions such as a Ferris wheel, bowling alley, bumper cars, roller coaster, go-kart racing, billiard tables, 4D theater, free-fall drop tower, and more.
Very nice mall! Not very crowded. Indoor gondola, kids rides and arcade, ice rink, great food, and more. Also a good place to park your car too if you want to take the train downtown.

Villagio Mall is by far my favorite mall in Qatar — it’s simply amazing! The interiors are stunning, with beautiful Venetian-style architecture and vibrant decor that makes every visit feel special. One of my favorite features is the indoor canal with boat rides, plus a fun mall bus ride that kids absolutely love. For those who enjoy sports, the ice skating rink is a must-try and adds so much fun to the visit. The mall also has a wide variety of stores, from luxury brands to casual shopping, and plenty of cafes and restaurants to relax and enjoy. The ambiance, combined with all the entertainment options, makes it perfect for a full-day outing with family or friends. Overall, Villagio Mall isn’t just a place to shop — it’s an experience. Every visit is memorable, and I keep coming back because of the shopping, rides, and overall vibe. Highly recommended!
Zain K — Google review
Visited Vilaggio Mall and love it's asthetic beauty. It was Friday, a weekly holiday here in Qatar so it was full of visitors. Also took a small bus ride inside the mall and recorded many videos. All international big brands have their outlets and also there so many restaurants. A must visit place if you are visiting Qatar.
Khatib K — Google review
Villaggio Mall is definitely worth a visit when in Doha. It offers all the well-known international brands along with some charming local shops that give it a nice regional touch. The interior design is inspired by Venice, complete with a cute indoor canal where visitors can enjoy a gondola ride — a fun and unique experience for both kids and adults. The mall also features a large food court with a wide variety of dining options to suit any taste. Right next to it, there’s a full-sized ice-skating rink, which adds to the lively atmosphere and makes it a great spot to spend an entire afternoon. Overall, Villaggio Mall combines shopping, dining, and entertainment in a beautifully themed setting — a must-see destination in Doha.

Villaggio Mall is such a fun and beautiful place! The design feels like you’re walking through Venice with its painted sky and canals. Definitely one of the best spots in Doha for shopping, dining, and having a great time with family and friends. Gondola 10QR x person.

We visited the Villagio Mall at Doha, Qatar. The mall is wonderful experience. The mall is located near the torch tower. The interiors of the mall is wonderful and breath taking. It has been designed in Venice style. The water channel the boat ride is one of its kind experience.
Suku S — Google review
Unbelievable place in Doha – Villaggio Mall feels like stepping into Venice inside a shopping center. There are canals with real gondolas, painted sky on the ceiling, and even a full-size ice rink where they play hockey games. Shops range from luxury brands to regular stores, and the whole atmosphere is just unique and worth seeing.
Jura B — Google review
Villaggio Mall is a stunning fusion of elegance and entertainment. From iconic fashion houses like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Mont Blanc to its breathtaking Venetian-inspired interiors, every corner exudes luxury. The highlight? A serene indoor canal complete with gondola rides, offering a whimsical escape right in the heart of Doha. Whether you're shopping for high-end brands or simply soaking in the ambiance, Villaggio delivers a world-class experience that feels both opulent and unforgettable.

Nature & Parks
Aspire Park, the largest in the city at over 80 hectares, is a stunning green space featuring a lake, fountains, and playgrounds. Nestled behind the Villaggio and Hyatt Plaza, this expansive oasis offers a 1.6-kilometer jogging track and diverse aquatic life in its large lake.
Aspire Park is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend a visit. Beautifully kept gardens, lush green grass, lots of different trees, lots of shade and peaceful picnic spots. It doesn't feel like you are actually in a dessert country when you are at Aspire Park. Large man made lake with pedal boats for hire. Water fountains. Our favourite is the water bridge to walk through for a refreshing cool off. There are bike tracks all around the park, Jungle gyms, a skate venue and other outdoor equipment to enjoy. We love the fact that it's a save home to lots of birds, ducks, squirrels and we even found a tortoise. In the summer, because of the heat, the boat hire and little shops are closed during the day, and opens 4pm daily. But entry to the park is FREE, and it's amazing to enjoy the peace and space if you don't mind the heat during the morning. Lots of shady trees and the water bridge is great! At night it's a different experience with all the lights. Great visit either way.
Christel — Google review
Aspire Park NOT RECOMMENDED I visited the park as a solo male traveler. As I was entering, a security guard came up to me and said the park was for “families only,” and that I wasn’t allowed to enter alone. I tried to joke with him, saying, “I’m my own family,” but let’s just say he didn’t find it funny haha. In the end, I pretended to walk away, then sneaked in through another path — successfully. The park itself is… well, just a park. Lots of open space, some trees, kids playing football, and families picnicking everywhere. Security and staff were all over the place, and it felt quite crowded. I walked around and explored every area, then left through the same path I came in — passing the same guard who stopped me earlier. I stared him dead in the eye as I walked out. Felt so good 😂 Clarification: Who’s allowed to enter freely: • Adults with kids • Solo females • Males wearing sports attire (looks like they’re going to exercise) Who’s not allowed: • Groups of males • Solo males who don’t appear to be entering for sports Remember guys, even if they don’t let you in, just do it. Don’t be a wuss

Fantastic park to jog and do brisk walks in the morning, specially at this season ... lots of green trees, green, green grasses are well maintained... benches and shades available everywhere to have some rest in between. Beautiful sceneries to watch as well, if you're bored. You can watch the ducks swim in the lake, too...

I like walking and do picnics here in early morning or noon at autumn. But now so many birds and ducks here and their 💩 is everywhere. But it's still nice to come here.

A huge park with a lake and a lot of ducks. It’s a good place where you can have a walk and relax away from the city and its a safe space for kids to play.

Really nice park right next to Villagio Mall. There is a small lake/pond where you can hire a paddle boat. There is a bridge with a water fountain. Plenty of places to eat (food trucks).

Khalifa International Stadium, located in Doha, Qatar, is a renowned 40,000-seat open-air arena that has been hosting iconic international sporting events since its establishment in 1976. As the country prepares to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, this stadium will take center stage as one of Qatar's premier football venues with a capacity for 68,000 spectators.
This review is basically for the 3-2-1 Olympic museum. Really cool place for enhancing knowledge on sports and olympics. Also the games section will give you a solid forearm workout 😂. Awesome overall.

Modern, Comfortable & Iconic Khalifa International Stadium is a standout venue in Doha. Its sleek dual-arch design is both modern and iconic. Inside, the temperature is comfortably cool, thanks to advanced cooling systems. The stadium is easily accessible via the nearby Sports City Metro Station, making it convenient for fans. Whether you're attending a football match or an athletics event, the atmosphere is always electric. A must-visit for sports enthusiasts in Qatar.
Mohamed A — Google review
The view from the stands isn’t the best — I think it’s because the stadium used to have a running track that was later removed. As a result, you’re quite far from a clear view. However, the atmosphere is good and the lighting is excellent. The situation is disastrous if you go by car, and when I preferred to use the metro, it was even worse — the capacity was far below what was needed to handle the crowd.
Mohsen A — Google review
The architecture of the stadium is top notch. It is one of the largest stadium and easy accessible from Doha city. Located next to the Aspire zone, this stadium has ample parking facilities. The music system surrounding the stadium is very good. The seats are decent and the illumination inside the stadium is very good. The stadium is equipped with the refreshment stalls
Surya N — Google review
A must see in Qatar! Brilliant open-air stadium with 40,000 capacity. Came here during the Asian Cup. Staff organised the crowds well, the food stores within the stadium were fast and efficient, and the stadium was very clean overall.
Bradley M — Google review
1) It's near to train @ metro station (Sport City Station) which only 5 to 10 minutes away from the stadium. 2) There's a prayer room for the Muslim. 3) There's air-conditioning inside the stadium (yes, even it's an open seats area). 4) At night the stadium and the surrounding become more beautiful as the night lightning make the surrounding more colourful at night. 5) Overall it's indeed a World Class @ World Cup Stadium.
Mio N — Google review
Was lucky enough to watch the Qatar WC 2022 3rd place match here. The atmosphere inside and outside the stadium was mind blowing and sets a very festive vibe all over. The stadium is also air conditioned which helps the spectators during summer to enjoy the game well. Definitely a one of a kind experience.
Sumesh S — Google review
This is the most beautiful place I've ever been... It's a five star stadium located at the heart of a city. The security here is very high and safety is the number one priority. The segregation of the locations of different sporting activities is also well done. The rooms are well labelled and the staffs working here are friendly and experienced. I enjoyed being here. Next time I'll update photos with how the field looks like whenever there is a game.

Al Mirqab Mall is a luxurious shopping destination in Doha, Qatar, offering a blend of brand-name stores, restaurants, and entertainment options. Situated on one of the city's oldest shopping streets, the mall combines modern amenities with Qatari traditions. Its open-air feel is achieved through large glass windows and promenade entrances within air-conditioned spaces. The stunning architecture includes a glass roof that allows ample natural light to showcase the mall's design.
Al Mirqab Mall is one of the best malls in Doha. It has many shops, great restaurants, and fun play areas for kids. The cinema is excellent, and the mall is always clean and well-maintained. Perfect for shopping, eating, and spending time with family.
Taskeen B — Google review
The mall has a great and lively location, however the mall is surprisingly empty, it has few stores and restaurants compared to the huge space. Last week I went, I asked about some stores and they all closed. The bathrooms also are very old and a mess, it’s not up to the level that we see in other malls in Qatar. I don’t why this mall is neglected like this while it has huge potential.
Sou K — Google review
It’s nice but extremely quite. Lots of showrooms are either closed or under renovation. Few nice cafes are here.
Muhammed A — Google review
It was a very nice looking mall. Old school yes, but it was clean, it’s a shame that it looks like it might be about to close with all the stores that are already gone. hopefully some new investors come along and revitalize this place
Edwin S — Google review
It's an air conditioned Mall. Good for kids. Kids are provided some free activities for drawing. Painting and learning by volunteer groups who are always welcoming. The fountain is a speciality with the kids. There is carfour. Daiso, and many restaurants. Good place to spend some nice time with family. There is kids play area which needs opinions from kids themselves
Lijo G — Google review
It’s a quiet mall with less shopping options but good number of dinning options. Fountain is nice and dancing fountain show also runs frequently in evening hours.

Landmark mall has diverse dining and shopping, with clean, spacious walkways perfect for families. Great selection of shops & food court, though the variety isn't huge. A range of stores, from a variety of well-known brands and high-end products to more basic retail offerings. variety of restaurants, cafes, and food courts. Clean, open space with good family facilities. Finding parking is difficult during peak time and weekends
Kamal K — Google review
Landmark Mall in Doha has a calm and organized layout that makes it easy to move around, but overall, my experience felt quite ordinary. The mall seems to serve its purpose as a neighborhood shopping center, but it doesn’t offer much in terms of excitement or variety. The retail mix is decent, with a combination of local and international brands, though I didn’t come across anything particularly new or engaging. Some sections of the mall felt a bit quiet, almost too quiet, even during regular hours. It gave the impression that the place isn’t as lively or dynamic as some of the newer malls in the city. Dining options are limited to the usual fast-food and casual spots. While functional, they don’t offer much appeal for those looking for unique or upscale food experiences. The presence of a cinema and a few entertainment options for kids adds some value, but nothing that makes the mall stand out. One good thing is that parking is hassle-free and the mall is clean and well-kept. In the end, Landmark Mall is a decent place for quick visits or essential shopping, but not a place I’d go to if I wanted something memorable or exciting.

One of the oldest shopping mall in Qatar. If you are looking for a quiet and not crowded mall to shop this mall is a great option. There is a big parking space for visitors. The only downside is the limited shops available.

Dear Landmark mall Management, I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint about the unacceptable conduct of your security staff. Recently, my cousin was bullied directly in front of your security team, and they failed to take any action whatsoever. Shockingly, when my other cousins arrived to check on the situation, your security guards threatened to ban us instead of addressing the harassment taking place. One security guard even went so far as to threaten to physically harm my cousins, which is completely unacceptable behavior for anyone in a position of authority. Additionally, the individuals harassing my family were recording my aunt and staring at her inappropriately, yet the security staff did not intervene, did not stop the recording, and did nothing to protect her dignity and safety. It is evident that your current security staff are not fulfilling their duty to ensure the safety of visitors. They appeared more interested in protecting their own jobs than in protecting vulnerable patrons. This situation is completely unacceptable, and I urge you to immediately review your hiring standards, training, and oversight for your security team. My family deserves an apology, and the individuals involved must be held accountable. Please respond promptly with the actions you intend to take to ensure this does not happen again. Sincerely, A concerned visitor

Perched on the 21st floor with a stunning view of Aspire Park, Torch Tea Garden in Doha is not just any ordinary restaurant. It's a haven for tea lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This trendy eatery offers an exclusive array of teas, mocktails, fresh salads, sandwiches, classic cheese fondue, miniature sweets, and homemade snacks. It has transformed from a regular bakery into a chic tea lounge where guests can indulge in delectable cakes and refreshing beverages.
Located on the 21st floor of Aspire Tower, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of Doha and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot to sit, relax, and have a good conversation. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. I had the fish and chips, which was a bit oily but still tasted good and fresh. The fresh orange juice was good. Overall, the food was good, and the experience was enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice, quiet place with great service and views!
Emad M — Google review
Overall the experience wasn’t pleasing, the staff weren’t that welcoming, I noticed the attention and treatment differs from 1 table to the other which was quite bad as you need to treat all of your guests the same. There was a delay in service, only 2 staff members and they were rushing to cover all tables, for 1 cappuccino and 1 milkshake, we waited over 20 minutes, good thing we had a nice view to enjoy while waiting. The drinks were good, they made up for the delay. The cheesecake was disappointing, it lacked taste, it would’ve been better if it’s served with chocolate sauce. The view is very nice, the place is nice if you need a time for relaxation with the low lighting and the nice view.

A perfect sundowner spot 🌅 — the tea garden on the 21st floor of the elegant Torch building didn’t disappoint. Whether you’re into afternoon tea or just looking for a cozy sip and a bite, there’s something for everyone. I highly recommend the refreshing hibiscus tea and the soothing lemongrass blend. The views were spectacular and our server Grace made the experience extra special 🌸.

If you’re chasing sunsets in Doha, there are a few spots that promise a view but Torch Tea Garden at Aspire Zone offers one of the most beautiful panoramas I’ve experienced in the city. Perched high up with a wide, open view of the skyline and Aspire Park below, the setting alone makes this place feel special. I recently went for a late afternoon visit, hoping for a relaxing high tea with friends, and while the atmosphere was lovely, the overall experience had a few misses. Let’s start with the good: the view is absolutely gorgeous Time it around golden hour and you’re in for a real treat. The terrace faces just the right angle to catch the sunset as it spills over the city, casting a warm, golden light across the entire tea garden. With the Aspire Tower glowing in the background and soft music playing, it’s easy to just sit back and lose track of time. The ambiance is calm, elegant, and undeniably picturesque. This spot is clearly designed for lingering and Instagram. The interior is also beautifully designed. It’s modern, chic, and minimal without feeling cold. But of course, most people (ourselves included) were out on the terrace for that view. We came specifically for the high tea experience which visually looked promising when it arrived served on a tiered stand with a selection of sweet and savory bites, and a pot of tea of your choice. But unfortunately, the taste didn’t quite match the presentation. The sandwiches were fresh but basic think cucumber, smoked salmon, egg mayo but they lacked any real flavor punch or creativity. A couple of them felt a bit dry, as though they’d been prepared too early. The pastries and mini desserts were decent, with the scones being the best part served warm with clotted cream and jam, they had that buttery, crumbly texture you'd expect. However, the rest of the sweets were more style than substance. They looked great on camera but didn’t stand out in flavor. The tea selection was decent, and the rose tea I ordered was fragrant and calming, but again, nothing particularly memorable. someone’s attention when we first arrived, and even longer to have our order taken. We had to follow up twice to get extra cutlery, and the tea took surprisingly long to arrive considering the place wasn’t overly busy. There’s a sense that the staff is trying to maintain a certain luxury standard, but the execution just didn’t quite meet the mark. A bit more attentiveness and smoother coordination would go a long way in elevating the overall experience especially at a venue with such a premium location and concept. That said, if you’re looking for a quiet place to relax with a view, Torch Tea Garden delivers. It’s peaceful, the music is soft and elegant, and the crowd is generally quiet and well-mannered. It’s the kind of spot where you can bring out-of-town guests for the view alone, or enjoy a solo unwind moment with a book and a pot of tea. It’s also worth noting that the location inside The Torch makes it feel a bit like a hidden gem not something you’d stumble upon unless you knew it was there, which adds a touch of exclusivity. Would I come back? Yes but more for the view and the ambiance than the high tea itself. It’s the kind of place you visit when you want to slow down and take in the skyline, not necessarily when you’re craving a next-level culinary experience. If they can improve the food offerings and step up the service just a notch, Torch Tea Garden has all the potential to become one of the top high tea spots in Doha. For now, it’s a great place to catch the sunset, sip some tea, and enjoy the serenity but don’t go in expecting a flawless fine dining experience.

We had afternoon tea at the Tea Garden restaurant, located on the 21st floor, with my colleagues. The reservation process was smooth and straightforward; just one call, and they will reserve a spot for you with an excellent view. The place was spacious and beautifully decorated, perfect for enjoying the scenery, including the Villaggio Mall and Aspire Park. It is recommended to visit before sunset to capture stunning pictures of the setting sun. The food was delicious, and we used a My Book voucher for the main course, which you can try as well. The welcome drinks were also very good. I would like to thank Christina for her excellent customer service; she was very kind. Mark also appreciated their hospitality.

Nevertheless, the servers were accommodating and even took into consideration any food allergy. However, the couch was not that comfortable and quite low and I felt quite uneasy while eating.

Restaurant
The Three sixty restaurant is a high-end eatery that offers luxury Mediterranean cuisine from its rotating 68-seater dining area. Enjoy panoramic views of Doha's skyline from the restaurant's 47th floor perch. It is open on weekdays from 6pm to 10:30pm and weekends from 12pm to 3pm and 7pm to 10:30pm.
Three Sixty Restaurant is truly one of Doha’s most unique dining spots, located high on the 47th floor with a revolving floor that offers breathtaking, 360-degree views of the city. The setting is romantic and elegant, making it perfect for celebrating special occasions. It’s also an incredibly Instagrammable place — the skyline view alone is worth the visit. The restaurant even has a smoking room, which some may find convenient. However, while the ambience and location are outstanding, the menu options are quite limited, leaving fewer choices than expected. Overall, it’s an unforgettable spot for the view and experience, especially for a celebration.

Great place to start for maybe if you have friends in town and they maybe want to see the sites. The food was okay, we didn't try the steak so maybe that would have been better. The customer service was excellent and they were all very nice. Drinks were great! We enjoyed seeing the drinks being made in front of us. The view is amazing as well as the atmosphere. I'd come again, only for like a business trip or if friends were in town. I recommend visiting at least once!
Pam C — Google review
This place is truly a masterpiece an experience that feels nothing short of enchanting. The restaurant moves at a gentle, unhurried pace, allowing guests to take in the breathtaking panoramic views in their entirety. I was utterly captivated, if not obsessed, with the beauty of this setting. The atmosphere is serene, never noisy, with perfectly chosen background music that enhances the entire experience. The staff exude warmth and genuine hospitality, elevating the visit from delightful to unforgettable. While the menu may lean toward the pricier side, every bite justifies the cost without question, it is worth it a hundred times over. A particularly touching moment was when, upon ordering dessert, the waiter kindly asked if I would like to write something a gesture that struck me as uniquely thoughtful and deeply memorable. The restaurant itself is immaculately maintained, from the dining area to the washrooms, which reflect the same standard of elegance and care. My heartfelt thanks to Nair, who attended to my table with a radiant smile and remarkable kindness. Your gracious service made my evening truly extraordinary. I am sincerely grateful for your presence tonight. A grateful guest at Table 4 ♥️

Three Sixty Restaurant is easily one of Doha’s standout for dining. Sitting high on the 47th floor, the revolving setup gives you a full panoramic view of the city — it’s the kind of view that instantly makes the visit feel special. The ambience leans towards romantic and elegant, making it a great choice for celebrations, date nights, or any moment you want to make memorable. The interiors are deligent, the lighting is warm, and the overall atmosphere is calm and relaxing. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy the moment, and take in the beautiful surroundings. The menu features a mix of international and Middle Eastern dishes. I tried the chicken and shrimp items along with desserts, and everything was nicely made and flavorful. While the menu isn’t huge, the dishes they do offer are well-prepared. All in all, Three Sixty delivers a great dining experience with its stunning views, friendly service, and comfortable ambience. If you’re anywhere near Villagio Mall or looking for a spot to celebrate something special, this place is definitely worth checking out.

The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel truly welcomed. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented and full of flavor. Every course, from starters to dessert, was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and excellent servic

Had a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the warm hospitality from Rabab and Doha. They were attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. Their exceptional service added a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

The restaurant مشاوي العربي in Doha is a popular choice for those looking for delicious shawarma. It provides an enjoyable dining experience, with a well-lit dining area that allows you to see the full action as they prepare your meal. The food was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.
The kababs Shwarma were amazing — perfectly spiced, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portion size was just right. Highly recommend for kabab lovers

I just had the most amazing shawarma at this place! 😋 The flavors were incredible, and the service was really friendly. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! 🚗💨 #shawarmalover #googlereview

I have tried their regular shawerma was perfectly cooked. Yet I tried the kabob and kofta and i can go with the shawerma it is way better
J A — Google review
I ordered a Large shawarma today from here and to be honest it not like before. Paid 14 Qar for the large shawarma and all i could taste was bread. Very less chicken and the bread was folded multiple times, it was very dry and very thin. Served me a snack and not a meal. Honestly i saw all the bloggers post about this but its not worth 14 bucks. There are many places where the shawarma is much better and for a cheaper price. Totally do not recommend

First, looking at the reviews I was impressed with their monster shawarma, and after reaching there soon I learnt there was no such thing as monster shawarma. Now, have a look at their shawarma quality. The brunt and hard-to-chew bread ruined the meal 😔. When it torn down to the real ingredients, just check how much oily it is, let alone any sauce inside. Overall, very ordinary, dry and extremely oily shawarma. I recommend don't squander your money and most importantly your health. Extremely disappointed, and will never visit again. PS: The other two photos are of the next day, after making it hot for lunch.

Tried this spot on a friend’s recommendation for shawarma. Honestly, it was average- didn’t feel very fresh, though portion size and service were decent. Prices are good, but the food was only okay overall. Seating is more suited for a small group (around 4 people), not ideal for larger gatherings.
Huda C — Google review
Perfectly done! One of the best shawarma places here in Doha. Dining area allows you to see the full action. How they prepare the meals and how they cook it as well. It was a nice experience.
Ervin ( — Google review
This is truly a taste of the basic Turkish style # shawarma found in Doha. The kitchen is right next to the guests tables where we can watch how the staff make each shawarma. It's not an everyday scene, but many restaurants are much more conservative than we think, so they wouldn't do this without their skills and confidence. The flavour, with chilli mayonnaise sauce and just the right amount of cabbage, was balanced and nice. The name of the restaurant was written on the wrapping paper, which I felt was a source of pride. I'm not sure why, but I feel like the taste of shawarma wrapped in paper is better than that wrapped in aluminium foil.
