Staff were great. Given there was a lot of dancing in a full room, it didn't feel like the AC was on at all. It was very humid and hot, and many people kept leaving the room to get fresh air. It didn't seem like it could handle a sold out crowd. The women's bathroom floor was even wet from the humidity (It had fully open doors) and the mirror was fogged up at one point. They gave out free ice cold bottled waters which was really necessary, and they let us go outside as long as we were stamped to get back in. I'm not sure I would go to another event there, especially if sold out, but it was fun, the venue was small (compared to other music venues) but good, and staff were friendly including security which kept making sure we were okay. I'm not sure what the reasoning was, but we also waited outside about 40 minutes to be let in after the event start time, so those of us with exposed legs were getting bitten by mosquitoes while waiting.

This last time, we (2 of us) were in early and sat at the same 2nd row table we sat at before. Shortly after, we were told to move because the table was for 4 people. A lone gentleman was nice enough to slide so my wife and I could sit on the end at the back side of the stage. But traded for the Oscar NY strip....BOMB. It came with asparagus beets in the crabmeat. I don’t even know how to explain the flavor in the party in my mouth! But definitely a must try if you plan to visit. It definitely made up for any concern I had about the lamb. My mom had the Chimichurri steak frites. They came up very tender and juicy. Not quite as flavorful as the New York strip, but still really good. For sides (yes, they are à le carte) we had the mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Both really good! Those are probably some the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in my life! Not sure if that’s a thing, but for me that night it was. Only issue that I had with that was they don’t seem to have enough sides. I took pictures of the menu, so you’ll see what I mean. Again, not enough menu options, and the few items that were there didn’t really spark my interest. It’s a multi-level space with several bars, lots of character, and what looks like a pretty solid food menu. However, I will say: if the show is sold out, expect it to feel cramped. Concert etiquette was kind of out the window—lots of pushing, no personal space, and very little room to move around. Honestly, I think they could’ve sold 25–30 fewer tickets and still had a packed, but much more comfortable, experience. All in all, we were thrilled to see some of our favorite artists in such an intimate space, but the experience as a whole felt a little chaotic. With some tweaks to crowd control and sound, DC9 could be a killer venue. For now, I’d say it’s worth going—but maybe not for a fully sold-out show.

I am by no means a Shakespeare aficionado or enthusiast but this entire collection was so well curated and easy to navigate I didn’t want to leave. The walls are covered in recreations of illustrations, the lighting is dim but still light enough to read. And… It’s not just Shakespeare! Seriously a vast collection. All the docents were pleasant and so knowledgeable. There is also a theatre with performances daily. Would and will return! Can’t wait to tell everyone I know to visit!

We absolutely loved the food. The charcuterie had a delicious orange compote, Parmesan and Brie cheese and 3 different types of meats (shared between 5). I had the brunch burger which was delicious and i loved the side potatoes, very crispy and packed with flavor. For wine I had a house made blanc de blanc which was fabulous. Overall, I would totally come back. Services charges always just make me question the integrity of the business. Raise prices if needed but if your prices are competitive just pay your employees fairly, versus charging your customers after they’re already paying a higher end for your services/food.

Because 1/2 of our guests can't tolerate spice and the other 1/2 can't tolerate not having something to set their mouth on fire, they served dishes with a side of diced chilies which several guests said was an amazing touch. Chef Nicholas even took time to hang out with us in the bridal suite while everyone was at cocktail hour and we were changing from our ceremony to reception outfits. That meant a lot. Sydney was our dedicated server for the reception. My husband asked if he could have a sugar free Redbull and she said the venue doesn't carry that. He said, "no problem." We got up from the sweetheart table to say hi to people and were back less than 10 mins later. We saw a SF Redbull can and wondered where it came from. Sydney literally ran down the block, went to Harris Teeter, bought SF Redbull and brought it back just for him. I have never seen or heard of that kind of service in my life!
