I would put this at the bottom of the list. Wait time is long, food portions are little (I get it, sushi, supposed to be little, but why the long wait time). The table next to us waited about 30 min for their appetizer. Food quality was also poor and boring. I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the sushi, I can probably get similar grade sushi at my nearby sushi restaurant. The presentation is underwhelming. I suppose is restaurant week, the affordable menu and so no need to put thoughts into the dish. There is just nothing that jumps out and wow us except for the hoji-cha pudding dessert. Silky smooth and the aroma of the hoji-cha was perfect. I did pairing and the dessert goes well with the green tea plum wine.

Out of all the omakases I’ve tried, this was pretty a pretty subpar experience. While the fish was extremely fresh and high quality, and every bite was truly delicious, the positives end there. One was essentially a California roll with a bit of seared salmon on top for $20, just felt like a mismatch. I wish I had done the chefs nigiri or more hand rolls. Regular dining: We are frequent consumers, and have enjoyed every dish we have eaten. The fish is fresh. If you get the regular sushi, itMs good quality but what we adore about this place is their creativity and variety of fish. Not all sushi/sashimi is the same, experiment while at this place cause you can. The wait staff have excellent recommendations. Some dishes are better eaten at the restaurant and don’t do well taken out such as the tempura and some of the raw fish appetizers (mostly cause the plating is such a part of the experience). Well arranged tables in the main dining area, large bar areas at front and at kitchen as well as more private tables in back. The service is outstanding, our last visit was very professional... attentive and informative without being swarmed by an array of servers filling your glass after every sip. The menu is unique, sushi and non-sushi items are outstanding.

Charshu was mild flavoured decent pair but makes you wonder if charring before service would enhance it? Overall Good bowl of ramen that’s really common to get in Asia, probably classic and nothing special. However you question, is it worth the wait for a single item menu? Less than 50 covers before us, around 30 seats per service and yet still have to wait 15-20 mins after our order was made to arrive. As soon as we walked in, I could see that the floor was unswept and hadn't been cleaned...in a while. It takes some time for that sort of grime to build up. It didn't get any better when we were sat next to the window, where we could admire dead flies on the inside window sill. Although we were the only table in at the start of the night, our server seemed distracted and rushed every word out of their mouth. First impression of a real Maryland style crab cake was delicious and tender! The autumn salad had a VERY leafy and bitter taste which is unusual and welcomed; loved. Sashimi and steak were exquisite. Shrimp tempura was fresh and crispy. Salad came with seaweed salad which added more flavor and went well with their house dressing. This review is for their brunch. When I think of Nobu, I think of very high quality. I had my expectations high for their Sunday brunch. This sadly missed the mark by a long shot. Seeing videos online of brunch at other locations, the DC location seemed extremely limited in available items. The meat section was a huge let down. But today I was in the mood for something different, something a touch spicy so I looked up their menu and decided on their Curry Tofu Katsudon and I have now found a new favorite spot. The dish was well packaged and presented. Quite a novel packaging of the dish. Included were chopsticks and napkins! Including napkins is a big thing for me and it is amazing how many food establishments don’t include them with their takeout orders. But back to the food: Delicious! The seasoning of the curry was flavorful with just enough spice and heat. The rice was well cooked and in no way mushy. The pickled vegetables were a fine complement to the other flavors. We ordered the pink lady sushi roll and king of sea, and both rolls seemed like they didn’t have fresh ingredients. The flavor profile was also dull. The presentation was nice. The shrimp used in the Pink Lady seemed tough and not fresh, and the King of sea was pretty, but the dried chips seemed stale and didn’t have any flavor so all it really did was add a crunchy texture to the roll. Service was kind and professional. Atmosphere was good, but didn't have that "wow" factor. We got the all you can eat (AYCA) for $35/person, and I feel like it was reasonably priced. I think the standout dishes to me were the mochi desserts, which were 5/5.
