A Peaceful Green Escape in the Heart of the City
Audubon Park is a beautiful oasis in New Orleans — the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. I took the streetcar out and walked through the park on my way to the zoo, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the day.
The wide paths are great for walking, running, or biking, and the canopy of trees offers plenty of shade — which was especially appreciated on a warm June afternoon. It’s peaceful, scenic, and full of charm, with locals and visitors alike out enjoying the space.

Wonderful urban park situated at the back end of the garden district, yet feels rather remote and distant from the roar of traffic and city life.
This park was lovely, and had a very relaxing feel to it, unlike city park which felt more like a location one goes for activities such as golf, football practice or disc golf. The path was very nice, wide enough for pedestrians, dogs and cyclists alike, and runs parallel to a lovely stream.
Forget your woes and come down and enjoy this lovely little breath of scenery.

What a beautiful park! Well-manacured, serene trails, delightful fountain. I spent more time here than I thought I would.
The park is directly across from Loyola and Tulane, yet many families with young children were enjoying themselves. There were several walkers, bikers and joggers but the park wasn't crowded or noisy.
Just a great stop off the St Charles streetcar line!

Oh what a wonderful world
A wonderful little world housed just outside of the French quarter of New Orleans. This quiet little haven of peace serves as a public green space, equipped with sculptures, plaques and more honouring the late founder of jazz. Though I would say it’s potential has been let down by its custodians.
The park has some quaint little walkways and bridges which personally I enjoyed. This included a wooden bridge over a small beck, within which turtles can be spotted.
We pondered on whether the turtles are natural or placed by man.
I can’t help feeling like this park isn’t lifted to its full potential, due to the abundance of scaffolding and heras fencing, and the colour of the water. This could be a truly magical place but does feel somewhat uncared for. I understand there has been discussion about whether the adjacent parking lots may be incorporated into the park at some point.

Louis Armstrong Park has the appearance of a public space designed in the Lyndon Johnson era. Stark looking concrete bridges over concrete ponds seemingly without intent or direction. I can't quite figure out what seems so odd about the park. The rarely used Mahalia Jackson Theater is on the property as well as a very large abandoned building, the Municipal Auditorium whose intent is unknown to me, but is in great need of rehabilitation. I find an Executive Order from the Mayors office setting up a committee to study its redevelopment. Hopefully something is in the works. There is also an older historic building complex in the middle of the park, fenced off. Don't know what that is. The stark concrete bridges would be a lot more pleasing to the eye if they were faced with brick. Anyway, it does serve as an outdoor space for events and gathering spot for walking parades. I'm not sure whether they even have bathrooms in the park. There are some nice statues.

It’s an amazing place to visit if you are ever in New Orleans. They have beautiful exhibits and interesting free programs. The museum is spacious and exhibits are easy to navigate. The New Orleans Museum of Art is such a hidden gem. The rotating exhibits are always something special and worth checking out each visit. So much beautiful and dramatic art to view. The museums provides info of the time period, meaningful symbolism and history behind lot of it the pieces of art. Definitely a must see when you come to New Orleans and I love how the botanical garden and the sculpture garden is close by. Staff was friendly and helpful and restrooms were clean!

Beautiful park set on the edge of the river. From there, you can watch the boats float by and the sunrise ripple on the water. The place is quiet in the early morning with just a few joggers and walkers. A nice stretch of riverwalk lets you stroll for quite a while, and the whole area is pretty clean and cared for. If you go further north/east along the water, you can find some beautiful murals. All in all, sunrise there was one of my favorite parts of a day in New Orleans.

This was a nice park. I didn't see much of the park itself because I was attending the French Quarter Festival. The waterfront view of the park was really nice as well as being able to take a stroll in the boardwalk. If you're waking a dog or just out for a leisurely stroll this would be a great place to get away and enjoy. If you're visiting the area and need a break from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street this could be a great opportunity to take the trolley or even take a walk and get a little peace and relaxation with a view of the ships and other scenery.

The first thing which struck me about this brilliant little free attraction was the diversity in sculptures. Each crafted by a different creative mind, using varied raw materials in unique and perplexing ways.
The sculptures provoke an array of personal thoughts and feelings, sometimes due to the way they move and sometimes due to their curious topologies.

What a rush! I absolutely LOVED the Sculpture Garden, it was quirky and unique and beautiful and weird, it was amazing. And to see my 5 year old grandson so intrigued by the sculptures made the visit even more fabulous. We visited on a Tuesday and the crowds were light, so we were able to really enjoy without rushing. We visited the New Orleans Botanical Garden today, and it was such a lovely experience. The gardens are really beautiful and full of charm. One of my favorite parts was the kitchen garden with all the vegetables growing—it was so unique and fun to see. The rest of the gardens were just as wonderful, especially the live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. They added so much character and that classic New Orleans beauty.

It kind of curves a bit so it would be better if they could have straightened it out but oh well I guess that's part of being here.
There's a dog run, but it's fairly small.
When I was there the place was lousy with clowns but they were kind of hot so, when they chased me on their roller skates it was oddly traumatic yet stimulating.
I guess the best way to describe this would be that when I recall this memory "I will find it difficult but not impossible...".
There's a very small chance that if you me running to clowns here so if you don't like clowns or don't want to be put in a situation that would cause you to not like clowns in the future, perhaps you should steer clear.

There are tables toward the Piety Wharf side where you can sit to have a picnic lunch. We ate our sandwiches from the nearby Frady's One Stop Food Store, Roast Beef PO Boy and a Muffuletta sandwich on one of the tables while admiring the view of the river. Absolutely love this park. They open the gates promptly for 6a. I lead a free workout group, open to all - community oriented (come join us!). But point is we are there every Tues/Thurs at 6a and Sat at 7a, and we've never had a problem!
It's always clean, always safe, and always beautiful. The views are awesome. Fun fact - the park is EXACTLY one mile (if you know where to start) in length. Which is awesome for our Saturday timed miles. I promise this is not a shameless workout post (despite what it seems) just authentically want to share that for our use it's an absolute treat. I love Couturie Forest; it's such a serene, lovely place to walk! The forest is beautiful, and I enjoy walking and birding here. I also really like the signs and education given here to help people of all ages learn the importance of forests, and what kinds of wildlife live in them!
I spotted White Ibises, Mallards, Snowy Egrets, Downy Woodpeckers, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Blue Jays, Northern Cardinals, and several more here; it's a lovely forest and also a lovely place to see where the wetlands meet the forest, and you can also catch glimpses of grassland birds that roam around across the water. :)
I have been here (at least) twice, and I would absolutely go again. It's a lovely place to walk and enjoy nature. :)

My god I love this place. HUGE. When you walk over an into the forest there’s a trail to the left middle and right. It is so big that after finishing one day I went back another day and saw areas I didn’t see the first time. - was able to see 2 bunnies, a red cardinal, and lord of butterflies. My only complaint is there’s no trash cans. But at the very entrance so if you have a poop bag or bottle of water you finished you must hold it the whole entire walk. To refrain from littering. I did see a few poop bags littered. It upset me because I wouldn’t want to be penalized for them as far as dogs being welcomed. So I def think atleast one trash can in the middle could totally help.

We frequent Confetti Park often as my husband teaches at a school nearby. We have children from age 2-10, and they all find ways to enjoy our time there. We are homeschoolers, and we sometimes bring our workbooks with us when we visit because there are several picnic tables available. The kids can alternate playing and working on their lessons. We can easily spend 2-4 hours there on a nice day. I love how much "yard" there is for the kids to run around and explore.

While visiting new orleans, we researched that confetti park on algiers point (confetti park organization) had a children mardi gras parade. we had the best time, my family took the ferry over to the island and by chance met the dance boy of the parade, while waiting for the ferry. we had know idea what his duties were or what to except from the parade. confetti park had a neighborhood vibe, with a welcoming atmosphere. an amazing brass band of youth, lead the music of the parade, while the dancing boy energetically lead us down the neighborhood's streets. homemade floats, bikes, scooters and roller skates followed the music. wonderful time, and we are grateful for the experience.

This place was amazing. We went as soon as they opened on a Saturday morning and the kids were able to do everything they wanted to do.
They had sunblock dispensers at the entrance and hand sanitizer placed throughout.

jogging, rollerblading/rollerskating, running, skateboarding through, and walking. There are some nice grassy areas for picnicking. Nice tall trees that serve as functional decor shielding from the sun rays. There are also some wrought iron benches throughout the small square. I’ve been wanting to dine at Cafe Navarre for a really long time and finally got the chance on a weekday morning. It’s street parking only but I found a park easily. I imagine it would have been more of a challenge on the weekend. When we entered, we were able to sit wherever we wanted and chose a table in the elevated section of the restaurant. The biscuit was sliced open, buttered, grilled and most importantly, it was on point! I wasn’t a fan of the grits but the other guest loved them. The omelet was decent, maybe slightly overcooked, but had good flavor. I’m definitely glad that I tried this place, but think there are better options around.

We came here based on the strong reviews, but the experience didn’t quite match what we expected. The food was standard breakfast fare—nothing exceptional. The manager or owner was friendly during the initial greeting, but our assigned server provided very minimal service.

A true neighborhood restaurant! This adorable Cafe is the perfect place to get great food with great service. The staff know the menu and give great recommendations. They also know their customers, I over heard so many warm greetings and catching up after travels.
The food was very good! I got the pest chicken sandwich and my partner got the turkey avocado. Both were great and the sweet potato fries are so good! We also got a bowl of their shrimp corn chowder, a little heat and lots of shrimp!
I can't wait to go back for breakfast or the happy hour soon!

We had breakfast and bloody marys, which were delicious. The biscuits are so light and fluffy. The bourbon caramel pancakes were decadent. Nice place, no permanent bathrooms yet, but they makeup for it with porta potties and a nice semi well kept trailer bathroom that has AC, running water and plays music inside.
The park itself has some nice views of the surrounding lake including the causeway. Has a nice pier that goes out into the water which I saw some fishing at. Good view of some local ducks and various birds. Also some little gasping fish that come up to the pier and you can hear the little pops their mouths make as they swim up.
A fun place to relax after a day of work, there was also a playground for the kids.

I haven't been by the boat launch in years (35 years) and I took a ride with my neighbors the past couple of weekends. The Bonnabel Boat Launch has changed so much since I was a teenager and we used to hang out there. LOL It is absolutely amazing. People are actually using it as a boat launch as it should have always been used as! I love seeing this! They did a great job upgrading it. I loved seeing the baby ducks and all the people and an actually bike and walking path! Great job Jefferson Parish! It looks beautiful!

As far as the playground goes it is a great spot for family to go to. As for me, I came to try out the track and I just finished doing my training at Pontiff, and I don't think it is a good track to train on. Dirt tracks are just so hard on the legs and leads to shin splints. I also was doing a dynamic warm up which requires the ground and the dirt will makes me really dirty. Last thing, the track isn't maintained well there are grass on it and footprint divots which makes me feel like I'm going to roll my ankle on. The only thing that is nice about the track is that there is good shading because of the trees.

They have a lot of construction going on right now and that's fine doesn't bother me. But one area of the parking lot wasn't clearly closed off because there was space for cars to pass. Some times cones aren't completely blocking off areas. Sometimes they're directing traffic or limiting areas. So I asked the park workers am I allowed to park here. Which is fine if I am not. The playground was nice, but the table area has not been kept up. The best part about the play area is the amount of shade. There are lots of trees to keep yourself cool and away from the direct rays of the sun. There is also a walking trail and a few swings for young children and babies. There isbpletny of room to run around or bring blankets. You don't get the nice scenery though so it you are looking for a scenic view this isn't the place, but if you need a place for your lids for just go and burn energy take them here.

Great course, pretty simple with a couple of mildy tricky shots through those big trees! Very fun to see all the dogs. Most people seem to walk nearby with them off leash, but all the dogs were well behaved, so that's good! All the tee pads are well marked, and the course layout is fairly intuitive, though it was nice to have udisc to navigate a couple times. Best to park at the softball field and then walk up towards the first hole or just park on the side of the road nearby.

Pick yourself up some frisbees from Joe at Nelson Bay Beads then head on over to a wonderful, highly adaptable course with a number of well-signposted tee pads and baskets (gold and blue).

Having been to the GA aquarium my expectations are fairly high. This aquarium does have plenty of fish and things to see but doesn't have any wow factor fish until the end of the exhibit. 2019 review: The employees here are passionate about their work. I came as a single person and was welcomed into the planetarium ($8 for an adult) and it was great. The planetarium is geared to kids, but the gal doing the show was just lovely. I was not aware that the 2nd Saturday of each month is a farmers market, so that was a nice surprise. Everything else is free of charge. I walked part of the trails, and they were well maintained. I look forward to coming back and bringing friends with me.

Options for boardwalk or dirt trails are available. The boardwalk trails have built-in benches at turn-around points perfect for those who require recovery after short distances. The Interpretive Center is only open 10am - 2pm Thurs - Sat but is worth planning your trip around if you would like to make this an educational visit or have small children to wow. Walked up and Sarah the park ranger gave me all the info on the trails and the exhibits they have to offer. I enjoyed walking the nature trails and seeing the gator. The trails are elevated so kid friendly and there is another trail that is longer but the high water has it temporarily closed. I will visit again when that part reopens.

Perspective is everything. To my seven-year-old, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park provided two hours of fun running from ride to ride. They sell pizza and ice cream. Kids love this place. (At least my seven-year-old did. However, in a few years, she'll outgrow the rides.)

Amusement park at City Park reminds me so much of Central Park in NYC. If you’ve kids, there’s nothing like it in New Orleans ‘heaven’. I bought the Family season pass for 4 for $265 and have no regrets. Babies absolutely love it. If I could leave a 0 star I would. I’m so disappointed with how this turned out. We are from Florida and visited this amusement park on a Saturday. We showed up and were told only 2 rides were open: the carousel and the bumper cars. However the entry fee was still the same $25 each! When we got in, there were tons of employees walking around but nobody was running the two rides that were “open”. When we asked for help, they said “I don’t know who’s running this ride, this isn’t my ride, and they aren’t supposed to leave their ride” but yet nobody helped or got someone that could help. One guy even told us they were closed to the public and only open to birthday parties? But the front of the park didn’t say that and we paid.
What a waste of time. What a waste of a Saturday. It was bright and sunny out, yet no riders were even running.

I love this location and so does my son as there usually is plenty of other children to play with. There are a lot of benches so adults can rest while their kiddos are playing. Unfortunately there is no bathroom and part of the playground isn't gated to keep the rambunctious kiddos away from zooming traffic.

It's nature, there are bugs, there are gators, there are snakes... Think before you go and you won't have an issue. Some of these comments are wild, yes there is trash but it's not nature's fault. If you see trash, pick it up if possible. If you have a problem cleaning up after people just think of it as cleaning up FOR nature. We saw about an 8ft gator right off the bat. The trail is pretty narrow as long as you keep an eye out for snake and gators you should be fine. I can't believe some of these people commenting and giving bad reviews because they saw a gator. It's the swamp dude, some people pay for that 😂.
We walked the twin canals trail, not at the visitor center, about 2 miles past it.

However they are still beautiful and the gardens that are 'unkempt' to you, might actually be designed to look like that.
Also, "As it is, at $3 more per person than the far superior botanical garden 10 minutes away, I do not feel I received good value for my money." somebody said this in a review. If you feel that way then just go there. As I have volunteered at Longue Vue before, we have a lot of staff and a lot of land that we need to work to keep it how it was previously.
Also y'all understand what weathering is correct. Old things do get dirty and it is hard to get to everything. Don't be shallow as an adult.

Friends of the Library had discounted books for purchase there ranging as low as 50 cents. Make sure to bring your shopping bags to free up your hands, a wide brim hat for sun protection and shades. There are a few sitting areas depending on the time of arrival. The swings need to be fixed. Only one working swings. Hard to see kids waiting for 15 minutes to use the swing. Also the red spinning seat needs WD-40, it barely spins.

I'm a kid who likes to ride my scooter around, but I lacked any action with stuff like ramps, bowls, & other people to interact with that has the same interest. Since this was the only skatepark around, I tried it. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed with so many options to take my ride for a spin. I first went on the big open area with small ramps and bars and whatnot. Later, I went to the ramp playground. It was my favorite! Then I rode in the bowl. With much room for riding but not completely empty. Also very clean.
The sound of I-610 may sound like too much to handle, you will get used to it. There are no mean or rude people and I had no problem of anyone else.
There were no fees for playing, even for like 4 hours of nonstop playing! The only con is a lack of a bathroom (at least for me).

Where's the bathroom?
Can you replace the wood blocks in the big open area? I got some splinters.
There's a open part beyond the fence into a forest. What is it?
Is the pool permanently closed or does it open during the summer?

This park is really cool. It’s like NOLA’s own Burnside or something. Reminds me a bit of Washington St. park back in San Diego as well. They’ve got a really cool snaking vert section and bowl, as well as a great quarter pipe/pyramid/ledge run underneath the freeway. On the outer edge of the park there’s a large assortment of different-sized fun boxes that makes for a good grind-line section. There are some cracks in the floor, and it is is DIY, so some areas are a bit rough around the edges, but all-in-all Parisite is one of the most legit DIY parks I’ve ever been to. Be careful coming late at night — the homeless sleep next door and will lob rocks over the fence.

This playground has the potential to be amazing. The kids are always out there playing basketball & football enjoying themselves but the play area is horrible and the lights are hardly working. It's a very small park, but rather pretty. There is a small set of bleachers, a basketball court, benches, a small playground area for children and a few trash cans for convenience. All that being said, there is a large grass area, which is perfect for picnics. There are also a few large trees which make for lots of awesome shady spots. This park isn't the best I've ever been to or even the best I've ever seen, but it's a cute little park. It's usually quiet and there usually aren't too many people around. Also, it has a beautiful view of the high-rise buildings on Canal St, which makes for great photography opportunities.
