２００９年ですが２週間、カーリガート（死を待つ人々）にお世話になりました。 現地に直行しても構いませんし、マザーハウスでチャイ・バナナを頂き、歌を歌ってから行くことも出来ました。 英語を話せないということはやはりコミュニケーションが取れないので、英語は必須だと痛感しました。 死を待つ人々と名前がついているので覚悟して行きましたが、案外元気な人もいてトランプなどされていました。 作業内容は、 ・ご飯を食べさせてあげる ・薬をあげる ・身体を洗ってあげる（２人がかりで風呂場に運びます） ・マッサージをしてあげる ・洗濯物の手洗い、足洗い、干す などでした。 ボランティア最終日は、送り出す人のために歌を歌ったりし、撮影も最終日のみオッケーでした。 日本ではまず体験出来ないことでしたが、戦前などはこういう生活をされてきたのだろうと思いました。 世界中から色んな国の人々と関わることが出来て貴重な経験をしました。 マザーハウスの施設には色んな場所があるので、ここでなくても我が子にも１度は経験してもらいたいです。

コロナの影響で入ることができないと思っていましたがタイミングよくマザーテレサのお墓へ参ることができシスターのお話をお伺いし感無量です。ご丁寧な対応ありがとうございました。マザーテレサのお墓ではドネーションをし、お願いごとを紙に書きお祈りさせていただきました。世界から争い事がなくなり、みなが平和に暮らせる世の中になりますように。
