Bar
Vodkaria is a cozy bar and kitchen located in the heart of Leipzig, offering an extensive selection of over 700 different vodka varieties from around the world. The bar celebrates Russian drinking culture and provides a relaxed atmosphere for vodka enthusiasts. Founded by Torsten Junghans in 2000, Vodkaria aims to bring something unique to the city's social scene. Guests can enjoy familiar Russian dishes alongside lovingly mixed cocktail creations while immersing themselves in the diverse world of vodka.
Very cool place with amazing selection of vodka. I believe 300 kinds. Don't miss the chocolate infused, yes, it's amazing.

Was visiting on vacation from the US and was served by Elaine, who is probably the best human in the world. She was extremely friendly, was happy to explain the large menu in English to me, and was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were killer. I’m booking my flight back now just to come drink here for a week.
Noah S — Google review
The food is excellent and the drinks are fantastic. I really enjoyed the video the host made about himself and his restaurant, it plays on a loop and adds a fun, personal touch. The waitstaff are generally very friendly and attentive. However, the biggest disappointment is that despite having plenty of outdoor seating, the restaurant doesn’t serve guests outside, even on a beautiful, sunny September day. That alone is enough reason for us not to return.
Kwame Z — Google review
This was an experience! The Vodkaria bar is a bar that puts a specific focus on Vodka drinks and coctails. The selection is amazing and extremely broad, the menu is informative and funny, staff is friendly, atmosphere is unique and quality of service is awesome! It is sometimes hard to find unique bars with a character, this was one of them. Next time i visit Leipzig, this place will be a go-to place definitely. There is also food available but we were there just for some drinks so cannot comment on that.
Zeynep B — Google review
On holiday in Leipzig from England with friends, stopped for a beer and ended up getting another 5 rounds and food. The place has a massive selection of vodkas and vodka cocktails, with Nordic and Russian food to complement. If you don't fancy that then the beer is pretty good too. Atmosphere was great the whole evening, the staff were all really friendly and made the night. Will definitely be back next time we're in the city

The meat in the Solijanka Soup was tough but the soup was tasty. We ordered Pelmeni with Tomato sauce and Wareniki with Dill cream. We got Wareniki with Sour cream and the tomoto sauce was so bad that it tasted like it was directly from a can (very watery, no salt, no herbs). I told the waitress that it is embarassing for a cook/restaurant to serve such a sauce and the cook should first taste the food before it goes out. We then got a new plate of Pelmeni with DILL cream. Besides the tomato sauce fiasco, the Pelmeni and Wareniki were delicious and the waitress very friendly.

What a great place, huge selection of Vodka. Food menu is interesting, I had the cabbage soup it was tasty, the steak was cooked with strawberries, nice presentation. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Bar
Restaurant
Bar Cabana Dachterrasse in Leipzig offers a stunning rooftop experience right in the heart of the historic center. With views of iconic landmarks like the town hall and Thomaskirche, it's an ideal spot for enjoying drinks, especially at sunset or during winter when heated bubbles create a cozy atmosphere. The Mediterranean flair, chill beats, and panoramic cityscape make for a memorable evening.
We have been to this bar 2 times. There's a great view of the city. They brought us delicious steaks and excellent cocktails. The staff is friendly and welcoming

Terrence in the middle of Leipzig. Great vibes especially in the summer. Live Music. The prices are however on the expensive End. Overall recommended
Jawad A — Google review
Nice rooftop view for Leipzig. We came on a rainy night, but the waitress is helpful enough to replace the outdoor sofa with dry cushion. It is really cool to have a "fire place" nearby the seat. Waiter speaks good English and the environment is cozy and lively.

Rooftop terrace of bar cabana it's amazing, you can get one of the best views of Leipzig, and workers are always taking care of you. Amazing food, amazing prices and amazing ambience.

Very well service (especially from Papula) i enjoyed my drinks, taste nice! and dj is also cool 😎

View is great, but the staff very rude and inattentive. One of the waitresses broke my full wine and water glass and spilled everything over the table and my clothes. She did not even offer to bring new ones. I had to bring the incident up to several other waiters / bar managers before receiving a "replacement". I also ordered a burger, which should be of great quality for the price, but was swimming in oil and very greasy. Definitely room for improvement.

German restaurant
Restaurant
Auerbachs Keller is a renowned landmark restaurant in Leipzig, Germany, dating back to 1525. It gained fame as the place where Goethe wrote part of Faust and featured it in his play. The restaurant comprises three distinct spaces: the vaulted Grosser Keller offering hearty Saxon dishes, the Historische Weinstuben for upscale fare and set menus, and the Mephisto Bar serving coffee during the day and cocktails at night.
The atmosphere is wonderful, with beautifully painted walls that create a unique vibe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed both the garlic soup and the main course, you can truly feel the quality in the food. The prices are a bit on the high side, but it’s definitely worth trying at least once. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience!
Mohammad — Google review
We found it on the Google Maps and give it a go! The restaurant itself was underground and it was beautiful, lots painted walls and painted columns! The food itself was not really that great but is pretty good with portions. The lamb shoulder I ordered was pretty bland. We were going to order some dessert but our waitress was no where to be found for 10 minutes. We lost the appetite when she finally shows up!
Steven C — Google review
I've always wanted to visit this famous place, and today I finally had the chance since I was out in the city for some errands and decided to have lunch there. We visited just before 2 PM, and since it was a quiet time with fewer customers, we were able to get seated immediately. The peaceful and calm atmosphere made for a relaxing meal and good conversation. Thanks to that, we didn’t have to wait or make a reservation, which was very convenient. However, after being shown to our seats, it took about 10 minutes before we could place our order. The appetizer (soup) was served approximately 25 minutes later, and the main dishes arrived about 30 minutes after that. Altogether, from being seated to receiving our main courses, it took nearly an hour. Fortunately, we had plenty of time today, but if you’re on a tight schedule, I recommend planning accordingly and arriving with extra time. The staff was polite, the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. The interior had warm colors and a clean, well-organized feel, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

This is an old German restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. According to urban legend, it's mentioned in Goethe's immortal Faust. It's advisable to make a reservation, although we were able to find a seat. I really liked the ambiance and service, but the food could have been better.
Anar — Google review
I went there based on the reviews. Honestly the food portions are huge me & my wife ordered 2 veal schnitzel plates and I believe one was enough with an appetiser perhaps. Now the atmosphere inside was quite chic and the waiters were quite nice however, it was definitely over priced and there was a rusty smell inside that would not make you comfortable to stay for long. Keep in mind you would pay for almost anything. I paid 2€ for tap water for 2 cups !! and 2€ to take the leftovers as takeaway which was completely weird for me !! And to top it off using the bathroom was 0.5€ per visit can you imagine this !!!. I would honestly think there are way cheaper places to try the same dish in Leipzig than this one, definitely a touristic trap!!
Khaled A — Google review
The boar steak, the Blauklaut and Knodels were absolutely delicious. Also the atmosphere and themes are breathtakingly memorable. If you are in Leipzig, you must visit here!
Hyung K — Google review
Food was cold and overall Atmosphere was below expectations. Price performance wasn't appropriate. Service personel was very kind.
Hasan A — Google review
We do not recommend Auerbachs Keller's vegetarian dishes to vegetarians. The main courses were a big disappointment! We were very curious based on the reviews and to try the restaurant. We did not have a reservation on Saturday evening, but after a few minutes of waiting we got a free table. We knew that mainly meat dishes "go" in the restaurant. However, there were some vegetarian main courses on the online menu, so we were happy to try them. The employees were very nice. The soups were delicious (but extremely overpriced - a small cup is 9-9.50 Euros). Ok. So be it! The cellar is nice! But for the 23 Euro vegetarian main courses to be just stewed greens with a little pasta or cream? Outrageous and underrated! German vegetarian cuisine is much more than that! This visit was a bad gastronomic experience and a waste of money for us. There is no service, if the food is bad!

Bar
FALCO The! Heavenly Bar is a sophisticated and contemporary venue located on the 27th floor of The Westin Leipzig Hotel, offering breathtaking city views. For over a decade, it has been led by renowned chef Peter Maria Schnurr, known for his creativity and culinary experimentation. This restaurant has earned two Michelin stars and is considered one of the best dining destinations in Saxony and Germany.
The question of whether we should go in there didn't arise from the start because when I looked at the floor with my eyes I saw that I was wearing my Gucci pants. With these pants I'm always in a spending mood. So we walked past prominent rascals like J**g P****a up to the top floor and immersed ourselves in the world above Leipzig. There were cocktails that I hadn't even heard of in the land of milk and honey. A professional, disciplined, serious bartender mixed me a great tasting Mint Julep. Unfortunately he was out of fun and certainly couldn't do as much with my flippant comments as I could with his delicious drink...
Tilman B — Google review
We visited the restaurant in 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed the 2 Hat Restaurant but unfortunately it closed. We returned to the "Heavenly" bar but unfortunately other than the view, the uniqueness, the ambience, the Falcons... have all been replaced by a disinterested, soulless, employee that seems to have made it to the top floor by lottery rather than talent or personality. Obnoxiously loud music and lack of any atmosphere meant we spent several minutes only before deciding to adjourn to the Lobby Bar where we enjoyed excellent service, quiet background music and a nice selection of drinks.

WHAT A NIGHT ! • Phantastic Food / 5 course Delicious cocktails / try the one with rum Flor de Caña Wonderful wines / thx to the sommelier The dessert was not of my taste - but besides: 👌 • Pls go there and enjoy the stunning view and the incredible hospitality & communication between the owner / the team & the bar manager Lars ♻️☀️🤝 • Thank you very much! • Check it out (reservation is a must!) when you are in the area
Benjamin B — Google review
I ate there on 22/10/2020. Half of the dishes were very sour and not enjoyable. On top of that, it is extremely expensive (and I've dined in 3 Michelin starred restaurant in Paris before). At first, it seemed like at least the service was good, but as the evening went on the crew got less and less talkative and caring up to a point where I felt they don't really care about me as much as expected. Overall, I left the restaurant with a really bad feeling, like I was scammed. The guy who walked me outside barely said bye and thanks even though I left a 10% tip which is not the standard in Germany and which was 30€. To make things even worse, the cab driver also ripped me off. I don't recommend you going to this restaurant unless you want to go back to your hotel feeling like you want to cry.
Barak N — Google review
Good service, nice view, and somewhat confusing food. It's good and is cooked perfectly, but sometimes there is too much confusion in the dish, with too many different flavor, making it hard to read the dish.

For a special evening I recommend this place !!

Total disaster, we wanted to get to the bar and they simply blocked the elevator. I guess no interest in paying customers, for whatever reason. Don’t go there.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the vibrant Sudvorstadt district along Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse, Café Puschkin is a must-visit for anyone looking to start their day on a delicious note. This lively café boasts an eclectic retro decor that transports you to another era, making it an inviting spot for breakfast enthusiasts.
Outstanding place for a breakfast. Kind staff and excellent Price for the portions served. This is your Sunday breakfast place.
Albert G — Google review
I want to like this place but every time i ordered something there was much left to be desired. The coffee was very badly made and not good (had cappuccino, pic included). The cococa on top is an "icing on cake" :D. The burger, well, what can i say. Not very tasty, pretty mid, but was not bad. It just felt like something you make home when you buy 1 loaf of bread and a bit of ground beef, put most basic mayonese and some salad on it so it looks healthy. It wasn't bad, but it was just lazy. For 10 euros (only burger, fries were extra 5 euros and that was also disappointing) i'd expect a bit more. The staff is amazing, lovely, helpful. The place is magical, both outside and inside. I just wish i could get my money worth here, but i can't say i did.

I’ve been here a few times for a coffee. The biggest plus for me is the interior. Wow, just wow! Another big plus is that they have plugs to charge your laptop, which means it's a good alternative to Starbucks, especially if you also consider that it's much less crowded during the day. I think next time I’ll try the food and perhaps a milkshake and if they are also impressive, I’ll give it a 5.

Brick's is a popular cocktail bar with over 200 different drinks to choose from. The atmosphere is upscale and stylish, perfect for winding down after a night out. The cocktail menu is rotating weekly, so you'll never run out of new options. Brick's is well hidden downstairs in the street corner, but the staff and clientele are super friendly and welcoming.
Here you can find the best cocktails in town. The ambience captivates everyone.

We were on a companytrip and had an amazing time here during the first night in Leipzig. Cocktails were good, music was very good. We left with a 250€ bill, and we decided to go back there with more people than sunday on our last night. It clearly depends on who’s serving that night, because one of the two guys wasnt happy at all when we came in. Really did everything in its way to make it clear we were not welcome. When we decided to go for another round of cocktails - the bartender must have misheard what we said because he thought we asked to pay for 7 cocktails (even though we had 9, so i don’t know why he only accounted us for 7) but we really asked for 7 more. He refused to serve us so we had a bit of a discussion at the bar, and we decided to leave it before it got to heated. We -obviously- payed for the 2 cocktails we still had to pay for and left. We won’t come back here again - that bartender cost you a lot turnover that night because we were there with 10 people and a company expense card. Might have been your best tuesday night yet.

One of the best bars in the city !!! Great variety of Cocktails and other drinks ! The atmosphere is always positive, the waiters are very friendly and attentive. Also in the bar smoking is allowed! and music between the 80s and 2010 with video clips make the Bar UNIQUE in the city ! I LOVE It !

We were eager to try the cocktails at this place. As we descended the steps down to the underground local, we noticed a heavy, dense and unconfortable atmosphere. We were led to a table and quickly discovered the reason: several customers were heavlily smoking. I find this a no-go for a place which, appparently, takes pride in the taste of their creations.

Great experience arrived in the morning, no wait, friendly staff. Probably the last party at this legendary location.

Amazing place (and dj sets, especially on the room downstairs), they even have food trucks on the outside. We came around midnight on a Friday night waited for 1h but it was definitely worth it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Don’t forget to retrieve some cash before coming (mandatory for the entrance)

best club in town. impressive saturday raves. save for everyone, dance as you like, everyone‘s welcome here. LOVE IT!
Setzels — Google review
In March of this year, I visited Distillery. It was my first time clubbing alone. I queued for about 40 minutes in a line for those with tickets because it was shorter than the no-ticket line, even though I didn't have a ticket myself. A bouncer asked to see my ID and ticket. I showed him my ID and explained that I hadn't bought a ticket yet. He was friendly and let me in anyway. The dance and music were very good. But, unfortunately I began to feel too much and unwell due to my own stupidity. I approached a young woman staff, and she took me to a small room where one or two guests who wasn't feeling well was also present. I was feeling quite unwell and started talking nonsense. The staff member calmed me down and talked with me. Other guests only stayed there for a few minutes and then left, but she was incredibly patient with me and assisted me for 3 hours! I feel bad for putting her through this because of my stubbornness. She had kindly suggested that I should go home, but I was stubborn about going back to the dance floor despite not feeling well. I'm grateful that she took care of me instead of kicking me out immediately. It was a big lesson for me, and I won't repeat the same mistake again. Many thanks to Distillery and the entire team. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a good and safe techno club in Leipzig. The music, sound system, and awareness team are perfect! My only complaint would be about the cleanliness of the toilets, but I think it's quite average for a techno club in Germany
Nabila C — Google review

Killiwilly Irish Pub is a lively bar in Leipzig offering a wide selection of tap beers and creative, massive burgers with various toppings. It's not your typical workspace, but they offer unlimited Wi-Fi upon request. In addition to the Irish vibe, the pub also serves German dishes and provides a variety of drinks including Guinness. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, making it a great place to spend time with friends or enjoy a chill evening outdoors during the summer.
I go to this bar with my friends all the time. I really love the atmosphere there, especially the beer and the affordable food. By the way, the food is also really delicious. You can watch football there, have a conversation, and just enjoy yourself. Overall, I highly recommend it and will keep coming back again and again with my close friends.

Excellent traditional Irish pub with great food, friendly staff and a lively atmosphere. We had their burger and fish and chips, washing everything down with some Guiness and absolutely loved everything!

Amazing food, their Schnitzel was amazing with some really delicious gravy. Prices are quite reasonable.

I would have given 4 starts for the food and friendly staff but a friend of mine had ordered A cottage pie and it was served like a soup. There was little bit disappointment there. Plus, the kitchen was overly busy so we got our food after more then 1 hour. We were told before hand about the delay still it wasn’t the best experience. Hence the 3 stars. The food and drinks were good.

Nice classic place! A bit too busy sometimes, but c'est la vie. I wish they had negroni sbagliato on the cocktails menu

Nice bar with very friendly personel. Definitively worth a visit when you are in town, the neighbourhood is also very nice!

The interior and the music is nice. The burger is good, but the meat should be twice as big considering the price. I really like the Deep Fried Mars Bar dessert. The staff is mixed. There are people very cool and kind and people extremely rude. If you have personal issues, please figure them out and don't bring them to work.

Fine craft pub. Offers tap beer as well as bottled craft beer from a number of foreign breweries. Stronger drinks also available, e.g. Krsch, Leipziger Allasch or Beer liquor. Plus very friendly staff.

My favourite bar in Leipzig so far, with an exquisite selection of most interesting craft beers (including non-alcoholic ones) of all styles, varieties and tastes. Staff is very welcoming and attentive, and always ready to advise. The bar is easy to get to by public transportation and located just around the corner of the HTWK. Highly recommended to anyone! :)

The flavors range from chili chocolate to salt caramel and blueberry lavender with white chocolate. Visitors rave about the rich taste of the ice cream and commend the friendly staff who offer great recommendations with a warm smile. (Translated by Google) A narrow, beautifully decorated, enveloped and cellophane-wrapped Easter tree cake ring with a handwritten use-by date of May 8th, 2025, probably at a retail price of over €20, was a big disappointment after it was opened yesterday and started eating in a small coffee group: cheap chocolate, including old, very firm, tasteless, dry tree cake, parts of the partly colored Easter decorations on the chocolate tasted soapy. Price-performance? W.Hentze Addendum; The 3 stars were wrong - there shouldn't be any at all because of the poor quality. A nice spot for a good meal. The food was well-prepared and tasted great, with fresh ingredients and good portion sizes. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. While it wasn’t an extraordinary experience, it’s definitely a solid choice if you’re looking for a reliable restaurant to enjoy a pleasant meal in the centeral square.

Pretty nice view, BUT the service was insanely terrible. A lady our server ignored us after she said that she would be right with us , 20mins laters not a check back 30 mins in the restaurant in the evening not even a drink on the table for us. This place is too busy just to have little servers. We were also told the food wait was 1hr which is kinda crazy. 2 stars.

Horrible service! We waited 25 minutes for someone to take our order and they did only because I asked twice. We waited another 35!!!! minutes for an Aperol Spritz. I asked a young guy and he rolled his eyes at me and didn’t even come to the table to hear me out. He was rolling his eyes and pointing at the main waitress. He has brown hair and a silver necklace. Disgusting.

Popped in to try the local Leipzig beer. Waiters kindly pointed out that it can be a bit sour so offered a taster before ordering. Seemed friendly and helpful service. Very happy to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We went inside - no friendly faces from the personel. We sat down and waited to order. No one looked at us and the place was not fully booked. I am ok with waiting not with “no interest”. All in all a very rude experience we left again without ordering.

Location, Location! It is in the heart of the city and always full! Hard to miss it! We sat upstairs, which is somehow cool but little bit too tight to be comfortable ,especially if you want to eat. It is very good decorated with a vivid atmosphere. The service is friendly but stressed, but of course we totally understand this cause it was FULL!!! But even so they were fast and efficient. Thumbs up for this!!! We were there for quite some time. The coffee isn't the best to be honest. Cocktails are good. Food was tasty and the prices also good! For sure we are coming back:-)

Firstly on Sunday night for drinks (reasonable price), great location by the market square overlook the opposite old town hall. Tuesday morning came here for breakfast (Egg Benedict on baguette, Salmon breakfast with salad & bread - all delicious) and on the square were a happening market with local sellers & citizens. A waiter/tress gets your order but some other sends it, I guess this system is opted cause there are many tables, so just wave to a waiter if you have not been served.

Was walking around looking for a late dinner bite after watching a concert at Gewandhaus Orchester. Thankful to spot this place - there were many people eating and chatting at the al fresco area. We ordered Spizz Special Burger €13.50 and Fruchtiges Hahnchencurry (fruity chicken curry) €13.90. Service was good and fast (the waiter who took our order and bill was pleasant, polite, responsive; another waiter who served our food was also pleasant and polite), food also came quite quickly in 10-15mins. Food was tasty and portions good, although the burger was only slightly warm instead of hot. Would have also liked if the chicken curry with basmati rice came piping hot. We chose to sit outside as we enjoy the cool natural air, and took our chances with other diners smoking.

Phenomenal Japanese Cabbage pancakes! Great vibes, cocktails (although the duck in bath tub is unnecessary) and great food, great staff (most) highly recommend

I recently visited Imperii Leipzig for dinner and had a generally enjoyable experience. The place itself is nicely decorated, creating a stylish and modern ambiance. The staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure we had a good time. The food was also a highlight, with each dish tasting great and showing attention to quality and presentation. However, it’s important to note that Imperii leans more towards a bar atmosphere, which means it’s quite lively and can get loud. If you’re looking for a quiet place to focus on your meal and conversation, this might not be the best setting. That said, if you’re in the mood for tasty food and a vibrant, energetic environment, Imperii is a solid choice. Ideal for those who want to enjoy a meal amidst the buzz of a lively bar scene.

Cocktails are very special, and pretty fancy presentation. I can imagine if some of them are designed for competition. The cheif bartender was very friendly and I feel sorry for him that I have to leave this bad review. The people doing the service outside really ruined the night! I felt that one of the waiteress was already drunk, and at certain point there was even an "employee party" outside. Not sure if this is the vibe your team want to create, but I certainly don't appreciate it. Maybe better to have a policy that prohibits your emplyees from drinking too much during the shift?

Impeccable service and food. We had a few plates to share. Would recommend the garlic prawns and Japanese cabbage pancake and the fish was delicious. Couldn’t fault anything and the service was great. The waitresses spoke English and gave us a menu in English.

Very nice place to have some unusual cocktails and a not that big but good menu. Ok they missed my reservation but luckily there was still a table available and it was a bit confusing to have a waiter who only spoke English. Fine for me but sure not for everybody. The cocktails are really interesting and the food delicious and definitely 5*. Only the waiter was a little bit too fast in asking you what you want to order. Makes a bit feeling like being in a rush. Nevertheless I ll come back and try different things from the menu.

Had a business lunch with "all you can eat" option for 12,9 euro per person. Quite good. Not perfect but I will check again later to create a full picture. Drinks are not included in "all you can eat". There is a choice between chicken, pork, fish (baked in egg). They have rice, Pommes, vegetables (also with cheese). Four salads to choose from. Two kinds of soups. Bread. Different sauses. Personal are friendly.

A pleasant restaurant located on a narrow street between similar places. The staff were very nice and friendly, although there was a slight misunderstanding because we didn't speak German and the staff didn't speak English. We chose dishes from the seasonal menu featuring chanterelle mushrooms. The quality and presentation of the dishes deserve high praise. The price is average, roughly in line with the class of the establishment.

Great breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options and very professional service. 100% recommended!

The first thing I noticed when walking in was the background music, which was mostly inaudible, apart from the bass line. Some people like this, so not a complaint, rather an observation. We ordered two burgers, and drinks. My coke was flat, so I asked for a replacement. The replacement was also flat. I guess it came from the same bottle. The burgers arrived and were cold. I ordered a smashed burger, but what arrived was a limp slop of minced beef, and it was cold. The other burger was a regular cheeseburger, and that too was only lukewarm. Unfortunately we cut our visit short then and there, paid €16 for two drinks which we left and went somewhere else.

In the vibrant city of Leipzig, there are several dining options that cater to different tastes and preferences. Despite its unassuming appearance, this restaurant surprises diners with a menu featuring inventive dishes such as stuffed Mezzelune, birch water jelly, and linguine in vermouth-bergamot cream.
Eating at Zest today was extraordinary. It's way more than regular food. I can only recommend that everybody give it a try. It's for sure one of best meals I ever had (note that I don't said "best vegan meals"). Mad respect for you guys

Zest is not the place to come, if you want to fill your empty stomach. It is to experience a new level of creativity which is rare to see in Leipzig. This vegan restaurant is quite far from center, but it is worth the ride and worth the price. Exquisit vegan restaurant that offers a great selection of starters, main dishes, desserts, home made lemonades, ice cream, wine and cocktails. We sampled only a small selection but found each and everything well balanced, containing a multitude of different tastes and nuances of haut cuisine. For sure a place with going to and have a vegan dinner date. I'm so happy to have found this little gem and will have it on my personal shortlist for Leipzig any day.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The service is welcoming and friendly, the food in sensational and it’s a lovely venue. It’s not cheap but I think for the quality of the food it’s actually great value - a similar experience in any other big European city would cost so much more. Well worth a visit. They have two dining slots, one from 5pm and one from 8pm. We arrived at 5 and spent a very pleasant 3 hours enjoying the food and wine on a sunny summer evening on their pavement tables. A must try in Leipzig, I can’t wait to return!
Jon B — Google review
Absolutely fantastic food, deserts and wine selection. Worths every cent!
Gregory K — Google review
The food was 5/5, there is no question about that. The service should have been better for the money. You have to wait long to order, no explanation about what you are eating, not asking for new drinks. We were in between two seatings of people and we noticed that they had issues getting everybody seated on time, which lead to the restaurant being full with standing/waiting people. The atmosphere was good and comfortable, however the door towards the toilet leads you outside first. So together with the front door it created a lot of cold air. Something that was pretty uncomfortable.

The ELSTERARTIG Restaurant, Bar and Club is a great place for students to hang out. It has live music and DJ sets every Wednesday night, and the bar opens at 18 o'clock sharp. If you're looking for some good entertainment, this is definitely the spot for you! The bands play regularly on the small stage near the bull head, so be sure to drop by if you appreciate good music!
Great place. Welcoming to respectful tourists
Alp C — Google review
I visited Leipzig to see a friend, and we decided to check out this club, expecting a fun night. We’re both good-looking, and we waited in line for about 20 minutes before the guard stopped us and the first question was if I spoke Arabic. I found that odd and said yes, even though I’m half French, half Algerian, not Arab. He then switched to Arabic and told us that the club was 'full of guys' and that we’d need to be with girls to enter. I explained that we didn’t know anyone in the city and were just hoping to have a good time before I left. Still, he insisted that 'those were the rules.' Such a disappointing experience—I’ll never go back
Moh A — Google review
Great music, solid vibes – worth a visit! Had a fun night at Elsterartig! The DJ was 🔥 the music kept the energy high all night, and the transitions were smooth. If you're into dancing, this place delivers. The crowd was a nice mix, and the dance floor really came alive as the night went on. It's definitely one of the better spots in Leipzig for electronic and house beats. The club isn't massive, but it has character. Lighting and sound were on point you can tell they care about creating a good atmosphere. Only downside: the bar can be slow when it's packed, and it does get crowded fast. But if you're coming for the music and dancing, you’ll probably enjoy it as much as I did. Would go again especially for the DJ sets. Just come ready to dance.
Koorosh P — Google review
Shortly after I entered, an employee came to me and forced me to take off my jacket and give it to the cloakroom. I have been to many clubs in Europe, but this was the first time I experienced something so ridiculous and rude. When I asked an English-speaking employee why they wanted this, he said it was a rule. From this perspective, they can make up rules for everything and call it a rule for those when someone asks why. I felt like I was robbed.
İbrahim S — Google review
This place refused me entry simply because I am a Turkish citizen. First, they asked if I was alone, then after looking at my ID, they told me that I couldn’t enter because I was alone. If I were a citizen of another country, would I have been allowed in despite being alone? Even the security guard at the door, who was also a foreigner, displayed this discriminatory attitude. This place clearly has a bias.
Ali Y — Google review
This establishment enforces a code which prohibits single men entry. "Are you alone?,then No" It must be noted that it is only enforced against dark skinned people. The bouncers ..largely of Arab descent enforce this enthusiastically which is actually funny if you think about it. There is one German bouncer who is just plain racist. The wait time is very long ..2 hrs sometimes standing outside in the cold. The music is acceptable but never changes. If you are a person of color, seek other options.
Andrews D — Google review
This place treats their costumers really bad. We were a group of 15 and they didn’t let us in because of the pants of one of our friends. The bar was empty, the do not like to have people in. Bad service
Maria L — Google review
Gave this club a try on its re-opening on a Thursday night. The queue at the entrance was pretty long and messy organized: add grids and have security not only watch the entrance. Inside it was pretty fine even if it was packed. The pricing here is a little bit off: while a cuba libre is sold at 6 EUR a single shot is sold at 3,00+ EUR in general and Jägermeister even 4,50 EUR - are you serious?!? 2 stars deduction as for queue handling and prices on shots.

The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, making it the perfect spot to unwind. It's highly recommended as one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Schleussig, boasting outstanding service and excellent food selection. Situated right by the canal, this lovingly decorated venue is filled with delightful details to discover.
I came to this restaurant to celebrate my son's birthday and my daughter's first year of school. We were recommended this place by my mother-in-law. When we arrived, the lady who welcomed us was very nice and hospitable. They have several menus to choose from, including a kids' menu. I ordered the bruschetta, and it was very delicious 🤤. The view by the lake is really good; if you're lucky, you'll get a table by the lake and can watch the boats and kayaks passing by.

Beautiful place. That's what drew us there. I went with my mom and partner. Only my food was decent (not great). For the price I was expecting something really good. I don't understand where the good reviews come from. The staff, even though they seem like nice people, are kind of clueless about what they are doing. I think it's a problem of logistic and organisations, definitely a managerial problem and not the fault of the waiters/cooks. You need a better system, perhaps digitalised. Our table numbers was confused several times and they didn't even know what we ordered. Our drinks arrived after half an hour and our food after one and a half hours. My mom and partner couldn't finish their food, the meat was not good and the rest flavourless. I ordered the salmon which was at least decent, but not good for that price. Will not go again or recommend to anyone.

I recommend visitors to be patient. Two beers, two coffees and a tea took 20 minutes to get to our table. The ashtray never came (had to get up and walk to the adjacent table to take it myself), and a children's portion of fish sticks with mashed potatoes arrived 1 hour after ordering in a tiny plastic plate. Don't come here unless you're ready to chase the staff and pay too much.

Nestled in the vibrant Sudvorstadt district of Leipzig, Beyerhaus is a charming tavern that exudes an old-world charm reminiscent of a vintage theater. With its stunning chandeliers and wall murals, this spacious venue offers a unique atmosphere perfect for gathering with friends or enjoying a game of billiards. The menu features hearty pub fare like burgers and Balkan pie, catering to both large groups and casual diners alike.
It’s a great place to gather with friends. The bartenders were a blast - very friendly and attentive. Great times with friends happen in this place!

Very large and often very busy beer hall, popular with students. We were thrown that smoking is accommodated here, so be warned. Service terribly slow, good range of drinks but just one guy serving behind the bar on a Friday night and some patrons are prone to pushing in.
Christopher F — Google review
The place is really nice. Unfortunately, however, we have to breathe cigarette smoke every time and our hair smells like smoke afterwards. As a non-smoker, I don't spend any more time there. From my view, it would be much appreciated if they implement a rule that smoking is only allowed outside.
Mariana P — Google review
The attention of the man at the checkout and the woman is horrible. They made my order wrong. I asked them to correct my order and they did not want to do it, a typical German response. It's the worst cheeseburger I've ever eaten, full of fat. Best of all, I will not return to this place. There are other great places in Leipzig to go instead of this.
Claudio S — Google review
Nice place, lots of students come here. Prices are cheap and there are some pool tables. A lot of people smoke inside, so take that into account
Fons R — Google review
Lots of tables in the open space under the very high ceiling. Good to place for drinking. Can't say about the food, because have not ordered. In the menu: burgers, salad, balkan pie. Nice, that they have beliard.

Good food and beer, nice atmosphere with pool tables

The interior reminds of an old theatre - with chandeliers, wall murals, vintage posters and a bar where the stage is supposed to be. The very high ceilings allow for smoking inside, there are billard tables, it's self-service, rich choice of alcohol, especially if you're looking for craft beer, but there are no desserts. Be sure to make a reservation as it usually gets crowded in the evenings.

Wine bar
Nestled in the vibrant Sudvorstadt, Renkli is a charming wine bar that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike since its opening in late 2016 by Fatih Demirbas. Known for its unpretentious vibe, this cozy spot features an inviting atmosphere where every detail reflects a passion for wine and hospitality.
For a delightful Saturday evening, 'Renkli' was an excellent choice. It was a spontaneous plan, and arriving around 6 pm ensured we got a table, but within a couple of hours, the place was fully booked. Opting for a bottle of wine, we indulged in a tasting session beforehand, and the wines were delightful. We ordered a cheese platter, accompanied by a small appetizer of olives and olive oil. Everything was incredibly tasty, especially the fresh and flavorful bread. Besides, the staff were also very attentive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time—a place suitable for both friends gatherings and romantic dates.

Excellent homemade fresh and tasty fruit drinks. Great ambiance and personnel. Haven’t tried the food (vegan) yet but seemed yummy !
Lucien — Google review
I will say that if you are looking for a good place for wine, you are in the right place. It’s good, they have a lot of choice and they take the time to explain the wine. But don’t go for the pizza. We took a vegetarian pizza which was not good (definitely not homemade and not tasty) for 14€ ! It’s expensive for a pizza that cost 3-4€. A bit disappointing
Gaëlle — Google review
One of my favorite Leipzig bars! Fantastic service, servers who really care, awesome vibe, great wine. FYI there’s no wine menu but they’ll recommend something based on your tastes. €8.25 per glass which is quite expensive, but you’re paying for the experience which in my opinion is worth it!
Amanda — Google review
It was my first time to be in Leipzig and my first time at Renkli but I absolutely love it!! The staff was very welcoming and really showed their expertise. The wine and the atmosphere is amazing. I also tried the Tatar which was one of the best Tatars I ever had. I can highly recommend this place
Christina W — Google review
We spent the most amazing evening in Renkli. The bar staff was very friendly and let us taste different wines before giving us both a glass of a wine we liked. The cheese platter was immense and tasty! We even got some chocolate from people at the table next to us because they couldn't finish it by themselves. The atmosphere is sweet, romantic, intimate, even when you sit at the bar.

Restaurant Cáo is a Vietnamese restaurant with a wood-accented dining room serving up burgers. It's popular amongst German locals, who call it Das Drallewatsch. If sitting outside under patio heaters enjoying some Hemingway Sours sounds like your thing, then this is the place to be in Leipzig!
The kitchen of this place is a snack-powerhouse. They have perfected their snack dishes. Flawless. Try it, you’ll love it. The whole theme is very artistic and feels special. Definitely a top place for taking the person you are in love with.

Great tasting food. The beef in the Pho Bo was very tender. Summer rolls were tasty, too. Fantastic overall experience. I subtract one star because even though the price is appropriate, it’s not a bargain anymore. Also the ambiance is a little let’s just say „minimalistic“ and „down to earth“.

A decent spot for cocktails near city centre. All drinks that I have tried here are delicious. You can just tell the batender your preferences and he will make you a super nice personalized cocktail. In the pic is a Tiramisu Martini 💕
Mai P — Google review
Had the vegan pho (soup) and the home made ice tea, which was absolutely delicious! I loved the music that was playing, and the ambiance in general. The waiter was very polite, too. Good place for groups as well as couples. Also fits for more formal gatherings, since the interior is rather upscale. This place has a bar, too, so it might be a good place to just have a drink (however I do not drink any alcohol so I don't know much about that). All in all it's a cozy place you should definitely stop by if you're in Reudnitz. Price range is average (~10€ for one dish + soft drink).
Hannah K — Google review
My partner and I come here all the time and get the drink called "Linda's Unschuld," it's like a creamy alcohol-free pina colada, super yummy! The baos are delicious, impossible to not get. Cao is really good at balancing authentic Vietnamese cuisine with modern western tastes and aesthetically presents all platters. The interior is chic and elegant with tasteful neon lights and contemporary accent furniture. Definitely a perfect place for large groups or a cozy date night. Cao is a hidden gem, not too far from the city centre and much-needed in Reudnitz. The staff are very professional and polite, multi-lingual, with great attention to detail. I recommend Cao to anyone who is visiting Leipzig or lives in the city.

Cute coffee place in Leipzig. They also have some snacks and cocktails. People there are super friendly. Unfortunately some of the workers do not know how to make a proper italian coffee. Do not expect Barrista quality. The best about the place is really the place itself: It is beautiful. Unfortunately I almost stoped going there since the coffee isn't good which is kind of a shame. PS.:I would appreciate more vegan food choices like vegan sandwiches or Burgers 😀and much better trained workers (regarding the coffee) The food is mostly mediocre as well.

Noch Besser Leben, located along Karl-Heine-Strasse in Leipzig, has been a hub for bands and artists since 2006. This alternative cultural house offers a mix of art, music, theater, and dining. The venue features an upstairs music/stage area and a hip downstairs bar with outside street seating. It's known for its chilled-out atmosphere that attracts a diverse crowd. During summer months, it becomes a popular meeting point for the local scene.
Visited here over our four nights spent in Liepzig, a very good pub , friendly staff and locals , one downside for us coming from the UK where no smoking in pubs , was getting used to the smokey atmosphere. Maybe an extractor fan required . Two excellent draft beers Pilsner Urquell one of them. Loos are up the stairs and the cubicle is shared .

"Zum Wilden Heinz" is a charming beer garden nestled under beautiful trees, offering reasonably priced draft and bottled beers along with a small variety of pizzas and burgers. However, the self-service system can lead to long waiting times even when it's not crowded, and the staff may not be very friendly. Additionally, visitors should be prepared for compost toilets that require them to dispose of used toilet paper in a plastic bag.
Delicious outdoor bar

It was an okay experience. We were there to support a friend for a theater piece and that was fun. The food was mediocre and the beers were warm. The toilet was kind of disgusting, as it had no flush rather something like cat litter. There was some bottles outside to wash your hands so there's that. Service was also traditionally cold to indifferent

Really nice beer garden under neath lovely trees. Well priced beer on tap (just two types), €3.70 for a half litre and a selection on bottled beer. Small selection of pizzas and burgers. The only two downsides are: long queue for the beer; compost toilets (if you use toilet paper, you have to take in a little plastic bag to put it in).

Musical club
This night club is located in a basement and is known for its techno music. It contains resident DJs and has a non-snobby, music-centric crowd. Occasionally famous DJs like Ellen Allien and Carl Craig make an appearance. The drink prices are reasonable, making it an affordable option for partygoers. The club has a cool, living room feeling with occasional family events taking place in between DJ sets.
Great experience arrived in the morning, no wait, friendly staff. Probably the last party at this legendary location.

The night club L1 Club & Event GmbH is a place where the beautiful people can go to meet other beautiful people and do beautiful things. It has blue upholstery, giving it a sort of classy strip club vibe. There are several floors with different types of music, so anyone can find what they're looking for. There are also lounge areas where people can drink cocktails and take a break after dancing all night long.
DJ was super nice- love the music and dance night. Also it’s free entrance for girl and there was small stripe club show. Me and friends enjoyed the night with lots of dance and fun here.

Was there just once. Really crowded, the music was so loud that it hurt my ears. The people seem to be very young, like average age around 20. Many many pretty young girls all dressed up, so for guys good I guess ;-). But it was a "my boyfriend´s not in town" party with a strip-show. So maybe that´s why. But the music I didn´t like. Liked the smoking area upstairs. I am not going to come back but maybe its worth a try, so check out for yourself.

DON'T BOTHER. I followed the rules, presented all my documents, dressed well, followed the indications from the staff, and reserved with anticipation. After waiting in the line, the bouncers denied me the entrance just because I spoke English. This place doesn’t know how to treat good customers. If you are international, avoid it or better go to Berlin and party all the weekend. Spend your money smartly, it’s just one hour and 50€ for the train ticket. Disappointing that in 2021 this place has a small village mentality. All in all, I don’t recommend this place to the international student community.
John D — Google review
First bar of the night after work. Went to L1 wearing shirt with collar, jeans and dress shoes. Door guy said he didn't like our pants and shoes...fair enough...but while asking dress code for next time, 6 young guys with Capri jeans and tennis shoes walked in without being asked questions. Turns out after questioning the bouncer did not like Americans (even though we're Canadian). Seen more pictures inside shirtless than clothed, so can't be dress code. Never been this appalled at the world.
Derek E — Google review
The club's bouncer acted intimidating for no reason when I tried to get in. After that, he told me that my attire was too casual for the club. That day they played American rap and they expected me to wear a suit or something like that. The people who are allowed in must be real gangsters who can relate to American hip hop ...
Sebastian F — Google review
Overly elitest as I was first refused and then offensively looked up-and-down before allowed in by the security- and looking around the club- it apparently wasn't because of the way I was dressed! I paid 8 Euros at the door but had to leave before the main act because I was not having a good time. On one night i went, It was at least 80% men, on another night, about 50/50, so maybe it's hit and miss. Yet I felt like I went to a club where I was definitely not 'part of the club'. The sound system is good and the lighting is decent, so I rate them "good" on Atmosphere. There is practically no decor to speak of, so I consider yet I consider them good as it is well kept and at a fairly good standard all around aesthetically. There is one large screen by the bar which shows the same image of New York City and some other city over and over, which is boring if not annoying- but you would not see it from most places. There is some cool laser-based lighting in the round interior space, which adds to the decor. The service, as mentioned, was less than welcoming, so I consider them "poor" on this count. I should add that I have been to this club on more than one occasion and there have been good acts- otherwise I'd give them "poor" on Atmosphere. It is centrally located which is a plus, but this club is known to be a particularly elitest club- which is not my thing. If you go, I'd suggest going very late when the main act comes on. Or- check out another club.
