Restaurant
Don Kichot is a Turkish eatery in the U.S. known for its unique take on baked potatoes, or kumpirs, which are loaded with various toppings including veggies. The place is always bustling and offers decent yet affordable food such as wraps and kumpir. Customers can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating while savoring the wide variety of toppings available for their stuffed potatoes. The portions are generous, simple, and delicious, making it a cool spot to visit when in Leipzig.
Very nice place! The food very tasty and fresh, the music good. And you have different options to decide what to eat, including beverages. I recommend this place for sure!
Valentina F — Google review
Great Kumpir with options for every taste – I went for the signature "Don Quixote" and it was excellent. The other dishes behind the counter and on neighboring tables looked really appetizing too. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the prices have gone up quite a bit over the past year. Also, keep in mind – this isn’t exactly fast food. I waited around 20 minutes for just one Kumpir, so plan accordingly. Still, a tasty experience overall!
Dmitrij S — Google review
Amazingly tasty kumpir, and very fast service! I highly recommend the Sancho Pancho. One thing to keep in mind is that they do not accept card, so bring at least 20€ in cash, per person, to pay, to cover your bases.
Rhys A — Google review
really nice kumpir. as a Turkish I would say the best in leipzig. atmosphere also nice. negative parts: for turkish tea you need turkish tea glasses. this place only accept cash.. welcome to 1980..
Metin T — Google review
➕ We ordered a portion for two because it was very large, simple and delicious. The nachos came with two sauces, a big portion. The staff is friendly, so is the atmosphere:) ➖ Problems with the hood, strong smell of food in the ordering room
Monica M — Google review
The fact that it's always crowded here, speaks for itself. It's decent food, nothing fancy, just wraps and kumpir (that's basically a mashed potato in a bowl with whatever you choose, vegetables and/or meat or even cheese or yogurt) But it's all fresh, tasty and very cheap, prices vary between 5 and 7 euros.
Ludo R — Google review
It was quick and delicious. The Kumpir is fairly priced but the plates are too expensive, only 4 pieces of falafel for more than 10 euros. I recommend Orient Kumpir, best Falafel I had in a long time. Sancho Panza also good.
Pietro P — Google review
The food is amazing, good people, very friendly! Try the tuna kumpir, so tasty

Takeout Restaurant
Pub
Thüringer Hof is a historic restaurant in Leipzig, dating back to 1446 when it was a dormitory before becoming an inn. It gained popularity after being taken over by Dr. Ing. Heinrich Schmiedeberg in 1515, with Martin Luther reportedly being a frequent diner. The restaurant offers traditional German cuisine cooked from old-fashioned recipes and is known for its Thuringian-style sausages, sauerkraut, and wild boar dishes.
This German restaurant offers a delightful experience for anyone looking to enjoy traditional dishes. The menu features hearty options like sausage, meat all prepared to perfection and bursting with authentic flavors. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with rustic decor that adds to the charm. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a fantastic spot for a satisfying meal with friends or family.
Konstantinos K — Google review
Absolutely wonderful. Delicious traditional fare, perfectly cooked. We had the duck and white cabbage roll, and greatly enjoyed both. In addition, our server was great fun. Highly recommended!
Sophie L — Google review
Dishes are overpriced for what you get. They look like they were microwaved. As a rule we do not add any dessert. Nice place, of course.
Jaume E — Google review
A wide range of food and beer on offer. The food was very good as was the service, although one waiter was dressed in a tee shirt and baseball hat which was a bit out of keeping with the rest.
Rupert B — Google review
This restaurant has the old time Esat German feel, lots of tables in an austere atmosphere, but worth experiencing. The food was traditional, hearty and filling and at a reasonable price. We had the sausage with sauerkraut and the pigs cheeks. The service was brisk and clinical, but nothing to complain about. The beer was cool and refreshing.
Lee C — Google review
Very excellent Thuringen cuisine along with fantastic beer 🍺 on tap. Service is so friendly and helpful with great ambience of a Keller. This is the restaurant that Martin Luther had his meals at. Just imagine that. My strong recommendation to try this place. 👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺😋😋😋
Edward R — Google review
Food was great, service was terrible. When I called, I was told it was fully book for the whole day. When we tried to go there, we could easily book a table. We had lunch with half restaurant empty :/ Plus I found a piece of plastic in my dish and the reaction of the waitress was “ah ok”. At least the food was nice

Planerts Restaurant, located in Im Oelssners Hof auf der Ritterstrasse, offers a modern dining experience with an international menu and seasonal dishes. The restaurant prides itself on its casual fine dining atmosphere, where guests can create their own personalized menus or order dishes a la carte. The warm and welcoming ambiance of the restaurant complements the exceptional and exquisite monthly offerings from the international cuisine.
From the moment I entered till I left, I felt welcome. To be honest, I am not a salad person, but I enjoyed every bit of mine (the starter) and would order it again. The main dish was not spicy enough for me, but I appreciate that this was due to the style of cooking. Yet again, I left a clean plate. The dessert was perfect!! It's definitely worth a visit.

Unpretentious, excellent cuisine. Oustanding value for money & attentive staff. Great job! We had lunch and the main course from the evening menu.
Bruno A — Google review
Excellent food, elevated delicate and delicious flavors. Nothing to fault , simply an excellent meal. Most visit for fine dining.
Ruben — Google review
The first place I dined upon arriving in Leipzig was not disappointing at all. The waiter was welcoming and knowledgeable about food and wine. While the menu wasn't extensive, quantity does not always equate to quality. We were thoroughly pleased with our choice. My entrée was a salad with roasted avocado. I could easily be persuaded to become a vegetarian. The suite was just as delicious.
Michelle R — Google review
Excellent service. They explain to you the food as well as the wine. Speaks English and also offers menu in English. Love the modern homey environment of the restaurant. Food is nicely presented and taste good as well.
Jon R — Google review
Very well cooked nice ingredients warm and helpful stuff.
Nien H — Google review
I’m not giving 5 stars for the food is because their beef tartare is way too salty. I went there twice. The menu were the same even if it’s a year a part between my visits. The beef tartare is the same too salty. The service is very good. The price is almost at Michelin’s level.
Lou I — Google review
This restaurant has high ambitions, but for our Friday night dining, they unfortunately fell short. It was a very quiet night, with maybe 3 or 4 tables filled, and two staff in the kitchen and one doing service. Contrary to their website and the ad on the door, they only opened at 19 instead of 18 o'clock. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and the interior tasteful. Unfortunately, we were somewhat cold, and even after the waiter said they'd turn up the heat, this was not resolved. The food is ambitious, and overall above average. But it does not match their ambitions or their price range: the mustard overpowered the avocado, and the tuna almost a non-entity. The quail egg was fried too long. The same flavor imbalance was obvious in the dim sum, where the semi-dry cherry tomatoes overwhelmed the otherwise interesting, I dare say fascinating, combination of fresh herbs entirely. The associated soy-tomato sauce was thin and weak. The soup was solid, even if the baked rice served an unclear purpose. The most disappointing dish was the Thai curry with halibut. The fish was not just firm, but downright dry and clearly too long in the pan. Fish should not be brittle! And the curry sauce strangely reminded me considerably of the soup before. My company had the duck however, and that was well executed, cooked to the point, and tasty. The dessert was very good. While the cream cheese foam was just slightly grainy (my guess: the white chocolate wasn't well tempered?), the passion fruit, dark chocolate mousse and milk chocolate mousse, and the outstanding cassis coconut layers were very well done indeed. Service was very friendly and professional. Overall, my best guess is that we hit either an unlucky day or the quality has declined since the ratings were awarded.

Pata Negra is a cozy tapas spot on Karl Liebknecht Strasse, perfect for a warm summer night. The menu offers delicious options like fried bread crumbs and chicken in honey sauce. While the atmosphere could use some background music, the variety of drinks and authentic food make up for it. The restaurant also accommodates families with small children and offers vegetarian options as well as frozen cocktails.
The tapas and drinks are amazing! The vegetarian options are plentiful. Particularly recommend the frozen cocktails.

best tapas in leipzig! great service and location can really recommend the garlic mushrooms, spinach croquettes, gratin feta and aioli!

We went there as a whole family and had a nice dinner there. We ordered Tapas and we could choose from various different options. It would be great to have a few Tapas menu suggestions to simplify the ordering process :) Also the atmosphere could be improved a bit with a bit background music. I assume that they have this every now and then? Overall, I can recommend the restaurant. Give it a try!
Karsten L — Google review
Had dinner and we were very disapponted. Very expensive dish and the food wasn't tasty, dry meat, forgot some of the plates and brought in the end. Only the dessert was good. Also waited a longggg time because there was only one waitress for a lot of people and one cook. Heard good reviews but will not return. There are better places.
Yifat S — Google review
Very solid night of tapas. I spontaneously went for a walk on the Karl Liebknecht Straße just to get a little bite, and „Pata Negra“ was just was I needed. As it was a very warm summer Night, I really got some southern vibes. The food is just right - I can recommend the fried break crumbs, and the chicken in honey sauce. Altogether a satisfying experience. Check me out for more reviews @kino.ah (tiktok/Instagram)

We came without reservation and got a good table with a baby chair for our small daughter. Great variety of drinks, delicious authentic food - you won't leave hungry. A small delay with our order was compensated with a tasty dessert from the manager. We loved the food, "ambiente" and service, will be back♥️

Viet Village in Leipzig is a bohemian eatery that offers a chill atmosphere and showcases Asian fusion dishes and drinks. The restaurant is known for serving the best street food and delicious specialties, ranging from curry to Vietnamese delicacies. Guests can enjoy their meals on the terrace while soaking in the relaxed ambiance.
What a jewel I found. This Vietnamese restaurant has great pho. The broth was so good - not too sweet, salty, or oily. Vietnamese iced coffee was so delicious and rich. They don't speak English well, nor do they have the English menu. You can still find the menu online and Google does the translation for you. It was the perfect comfort food to have on a chilly winter day in Leipzig.
Joon P — Google review
The food was delicious, I had chicken curry and rice with lemonade/ bitter lemon. Their service is great and they are nice. The place is aesthetically pleasing and it was in a great Atmosphere.
Kadi O — Google review
The food had flavor but the meat was in scarceness and chewy. Mushrooms were bland and raw and had no purpose in the curry. Overall, worth visiting if you are around in Sudvorstad.
Srdjan G — Google review
Unfortunately the quality of the food has significantly declined recently. Having eaten here over 20 times over several years I typically get the 43B, with a smooth semi-sweet red curry sauce. Recently the sauce is basically just coconut milk with red oil floating on top and lacks flavor. The meat quality has also declined, with the beef being very fatty and overly chewy. On the most recent visit, we attempted to sit outside on a gorgeous spring day only to be told we wouldn’t be served outside because only three servers were working. The restaurant inside was almost empty, leading me to believe othered have noticed the decline in quality too. There are numerous Vietnamese restaurants in Leipzig and unfortunately I’ll need to start exploring others as Viet Village has disappointed me too much recently.
An T — Google review
Delicious with good quality. They prepare the food very quickly. You can try Asian food there. Nice staffs but the toilet was not very clean. The atmosphere is nostalgic as you can see many old stuffs there:)
Akb — Google review
****leider ein nicht hundefreundliches Restaurant**** ****not dog friendly**** We visited the restaurant after a while with our dog and we were not welcome. The reason was our dog! The funny thing is that a while ago we had sat with our dog inside as well as in the past with another group who also had a dog. We are also customers outside but we also take food home. When we asked why, they told us that they have a problem with the other customers. The funny thing is that we are also customers and we pay to eat. We also suggested that since we do not want to create a problem, we sit at a table far away but they still did not accept it. It was also raining a lot and we had come from far away to eat! No polite treatment.. I should emphasize that we are talking about a small dog. But again, this is not a reason not to allow you to eat in a restaurant. When the person in charge no longer had an answer to what we mentioned, he told us that one of their employees is allergic to dogs! Really Funny!!!!!that is, they drive away customers who will leave money and who will recommend the store to other friends because an employee is allergic! I leave this to everyone to evaluate as they wish! At that moment they drove away another couple with their dog and they left, of course, disappointed like us! Really sad!!!Of course, after this incident, we went to another Vietnamese restaurant, which of course welcomed us kindly with our dog and our mood improved! It is understandable that not everyone loves dogs! And it is acceptable for the store's policy not to be dog-friendly. Not that the other customers don't want them!!! We are all customers!!! We have never had a problem in a restaurant with our dog! On the contrary, the customers are very happy to see him! Note* it is the only restaurant we have encountered with this policy... Year 2025...too bad....
Amy T — Google review
Very tasty and promptly served Vietnamese food and other southeastasian dishes with a good price-performance ratio. To us, it was more a place for a good dinner, but rather not to hang out for a few drinks afterwards, especially because the big room (where most of the tables are) is somewhat noisy and its not too comfortable to sit.
Dunja R — Google review
Food was wonderful! Nice decorations and quick serving. It's not a cheap Asian restaurant. You can have a 8-12 euro lunch and the amount of food was perfect!

Mexican restaurant
Gallo Negro in Leipzig is a Mexican restaurant that offers modern and delicious Mexican cuisine. The place has received mixed reviews, with some praising the high-quality food and friendly service, while others have criticized the small portion sizes and slow service. Despite some drawbacks, many customers are willing to give it another chance due to its unique concept and tasty dishes like Tacos Pastor. Overall, Gallo Negro seems to be a promising spot for those seeking authentic Mexican flavors in Leipzig.
Great authentic Mexican place. Tacos were superb (4 instead of 3 on Tuesdays), and the margarita pitchers we tucked into were excellent. Hard to not order more! 4 of us shared some proper Nachos (none of the cheap crisps with some cheese sprinkled on top rubbish) and 5 types of taco (perfect for splitting on Taco Tuesday night!)… plus a couple of beers and two margarita pitchers for €40, which was decent. One of our party spoke Spanish with the waitress, which was cool, and the owners are actually Mexican, and service was good for a relaxed Tuesday.
Michael W — Google review
Super Mexican restaurant , the service is really nice They did a cocktail without alcool for us wich was really tasty The food quality is really good Super nice place for drinking with friend or enjoying some tapas We had a really great moment
Meryem M — Google review
I'll start with the good. The atmosphere was great, with good/chill music and lights. It's a comfortable place to have some drinks and catch up with friends. I ordered a Quesadilla Polo with chicken and a cola zero. The food was a bit average taste wise. Please have a look at the picture attached. The consistency of the cheese showed that it may not have been fresh, with similar microwaved cheese consistency. However, the guacamole on the side was okay. After eating, I asked for the bill, and the waitress came back and said it was 20 euros but didn't present a receipt showing the cost breakdown(1st red flag). She further asks if I'll pay with cash or card. I paid with a card plus a 7% tip. Thereafter, I asked for the receipt because I suspected something was off, and I needed to confirm the actual price. She took a while before coming back, and eventually said that she apologised for the mix-up that my bill was actually 16 euros, according to the printed invoice. Quesadilla Polo- 12,5 euros, and Cola light 3,5 euros. She therafter returns 4 euros. This may have been an honest mistake or a very dishonest attempt to get more money from a non-german speaking person. Nevertheless, I'll advise you to ask for a receipt whenever you visit this establishment and cross-check what you're paying for/ change you receive.

As we entered the restaurant, there was immediately a Mexican vibe to it. Place is cozy and the staff is polite and present. We ordered nachos and quesadillas and both were really good. We also gave a chance to a mexican beer but we didn’t like it for 6.5€ 😀 Overall a nice authentic mexican restaurant and definitely recommended.
Neha B — Google review
Really happy about this place. Starters are a little expensive, but the Tacos are worth their money. And the staff is super friendly. Of course we had Micheladas, but they call it Clamato here.
Daniel M — Google review
Way to expensive for the portion sizes also took a bit long. The food was good but not worth the price, also based on the area it’s located in
Tim W — Google review
A cosy environment: very friendly service stuff and the owners themselves. Better to reserve as it might be full. Enjoyable music: salsa, cumbia, pop etc. A small variety of dishes which should be "authentic" and taste really well (due to my Mexican friends). Margarita cocktail with tamarind was what I loved the most. Prices are really high: around 10 euros for pretty small portions. Insight: the restaurant produces it's own nachos and tortillas for tacos (a big "+")!
Valeriia T — Google review
Service was wonderful! The Tacos Pastor were really tasty, but sadly breaking quite easy. It should be double tortillas. A little overpriced for the small portion aswell. Nonetheless, I would eat here again. Play out your strength by being one of the only Taco places in town!🙏🏽

The fast food restaurant Frittz is popular for its tasty food andreasonable prices. The compositions are well thought out andtasty, but it can be too salty for some people.
It’s hard to call it “fries”, when you basically have an entire dinner on top of them! Great spot, the best choice in takeaway food in Leipzig! The amount of food was huge, I could barely eat the whole thing. And the taste - unremarkable! I can’t wait to come back some day!
Lenny F — Google review
I've eaten there couple of times. Generally, the composition is well thought and very tasty but it is definitely too salty. On one occasion the beef was low quality with a lot of fat tissue. At other times- perfect, but that salt...
Jarpen E — Google review
I really enjoy the flavors they have to offer. The portions are big and the fries are really good! Even tho they are fried you don’t feel the heaviness of the oil at all. Only minus... it’s quite pricey
Skin C — Google review
Okay saw their billboard and it looked good. I order the pull pork on French fries, onions and parsley. It was covered in BBQ Sauce. The BBQ sauce is thick, spicy and has some heat. It was a decent meal for €6.90 euro and cheaper than BURGER King. But I will definety request sauce on the side in the future.
G L — Google review
Very tasty takeaway fries or you can sit on the few benches outside. Overall we enjoyed our experience, but cannot give 5 stars due to the cost, not enough seating, and order was mixed up. Still would go back, just with managed expectations.
Allison W — Google review
Surprising good. A great place for fries. It was very affordable and very fast as well. I would return here
Steve T — Google review
When the person behind the counter is so rude I even don't care about the taste and quality anymore. He was apparently in rush to close the shop and go somewhere, so he thought he can behave however he wants. When we asked him for a fork, he shouted and told us he doesn't have time for that. I call it racist, my friends say he is rude in general. I'll never come here again when he's here.

Choose from various styles and top them off with delicious toppings such as chili, jalapenos, camembert, tomatoes, lingonberries, or tortilla chips. You won't be able to resist ordering seconds or even thirds!
Small place with several hot dogs. Great price, but you have to get a bit more and maybe share at some point. Nice service, pleasant atmosphere, great hot dogs. Cash only.

This cute hotdog place took me by surprise, I had no expectations so I was blown away. The menu is simple and to the point, a few hotdog sandwiches with different styles to choose from like Mexican, American, unique ones with a twist. There all classic toppings available as well like fried onions, relish, pickles, also avocado's and tortillas. The hotdog has a perfect size and isn't overpriced. I also liked the atmosphere and the guy who made our sandwiches made sure they were extra and was very inviting and friendly. Next time you are around the area and not sure what to have for a quick lunch or snack, give them a try
Loay — Google review
My mom doesn't make hot dogs but the hot dogs at this place felt like my mom's hypothetical hot dogs. Warm on the stomach and has you craving for more. Absolute gem.
Donkey S — Google review
Came for one, stayed for two. Can't imagine a better place to eat hotdogs in Leipzig. Shout-out to the IKEA comment dude, IKEA hotdogs don't come near this!!! I had the classic hotdog. The guy? So friendly and chill.
Agata L — Google review
Great (also vegetarian!) Hot Dogs, a few options to choose from, really liked the version with cheese sauce and tortillas. You can sit inside or outside, though place is quite small but with a great interior 🌭
Berlin F — Google review
Had the hot dog with brie cheese, crispy onions, and berries for lunch. Delicious! One hot dog is not enough though. Sadly the Santiago could not be offered that day.
Peter M — Google review
Tiny inside, no bathroom, decent prices and interesting hot dogs. Not the place to go if you’re looking for much beyond a casual eat.
Peter P — Google review
Great atmosphere and music in side, tasty hotdogs and hot spicy sauces awesome! Love it;)

CÀ PHÁO is a charming Vietnamese restaurant located in Leipzig, Germany. It offers classic Vietnamese street foods in a cozy setting with sidewalk seating. The restaurant has received positive feedback for its great food, welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Customers have praised the generous portions and flavorful dishes such as yellow coconut curry and glass noodle salad. The menu features a variety of options including meat and vegan dishes.
Our German friend recommended this place, and it did NOT disappoint. I got the yellow coconut curry, and it was so incredibly flavorful. My friend got the glass noodle salad, and it was so fresh, crisp and delicious. The service was fast, and the portions were generous. Would definitely come again. To the amazing server we stiffed: I’m so sorry, it was my husbands first day in Germany. He had heard that it wasn’t culturally appropriate to tip at a restaurant. Our German friend corrected him. You were amazing 💜you deserve a five star review.
Chelsea D — Google review
The food was amazing. I thought the peanut sauce for the summer roll was one of the bests I had so far. I tested the food from the Japanese and Vietnamese, and both were very good 😊👍🏽 Hope if you decide to come, that you also have a pleasant experience!
Priscilla T — Google review
food is ok, but pricy. bun cha was decent, the spring rolls weren‘t vietnamese but the typical take out-egg rolls.
Markus P — Google review
Best Asian restaurant in Leipzig. All the dishes are so good and the small garden makes us feel like a romantic poem.
Huong T — Google review
Good presentation of the food and tasty. Staff was really helpful, but kept a bit waiting even though it was pretty empty. Pho cap were a bit bland and could've used more herbs/spice.
Friedemann F — Google review
Fantastic food great taste and very hot The best in leipzig

Food was really good, prices fair and service pretty nice, the only problem was they forgot our drinks entirely; but we were so deep into the food we honestly forgot 😅 I had the pepper beef btw

Great place and lovely staff! Good music, taste Paella and nice atmosphere. It could be easy to become a regular there.

We shared the Caracan sampler platter for a light meal and it was delicious and well-seasoned, and reasonably priced. The beer was very fresh and the atmosphere was casual, fun, and family-friendly. It felt like discovering a well-kept local secret.

Great and authentic Spanish food, fresh of the real coal grill inside the beautiful "wildpark"

The food was nice, the aperol spritz as well, but the Negroni I would not recommend.

Really nice place!!! Friendly staff always!!! Cheap prices good grill!! Cold beer!! Nice music!! You can play football Ping pong and beach volley. The only that I can say is missing is a nice playground for kids... Unfortunately only a place with sand

Small place to enjoy music outside and drink beer as well. It was hard to discover what is going on each day so maybe here’s a suggestion to improve the propaganda

I cannot rate this place highly enough. High-end food, served by super-friendly staff, cooked by incredibly talented chefs, in a fun and casual atmosphere, surrounded by cool people with smiles on their faces. Once you go Paps, you always go back!

Great smashed burger, very juicy and tasty, love it so much. And the “Radler” also good, it’s mix bier and lemon juice, a kind of special drink in Germany. However, there’s homemade pommas is not crispy enough and made me felt frustrated. But I still recommend Paps! For high quality food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. And you also can pay by credit card👍
JAMES F — Google review
We are here in Leipzig for 3 days, this is definitely one of the best meal we had. Everything was on point, pork belly was juicy and the wanton was prefectly spicy but not too oily. Love the owner there, friendly and welcome 🧡 hope they get lots of customers!
