St. Thomas Church is a Gothic church in Leipzig, Germany, where Johann Sebastian Bach served as cantor for 27 years and conducted the famous St. Thomas Choir. The church has a rich musical history, with notable figures such as Richard Wagner, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and Clara Schumann leaving their mark on its legacy. Construction of the church began in 1212 and it has undergone several renovations over the years.
As the church bells rang slowly, I looked up at the silhouette of St. Thomas Church and truly felt that I was in the city of music, Leipzig. Listening to Bach’s music in a place so deeply connected to his life felt like stepping into a time machine. I visited last year and again this year, and each time, the experience brought new meaning and a deep sense of resonance. If you also visit the Bach Museum right next door, it will enrich your understanding of both the music and the man behind it. Located right in the city center, the church is easy to reach, and there are plenty of inviting spots nearby to explore and relax.

Beautiful church with stained glass windows. We had the pleasure of attending a musical showcase with the Thomanerchor Leipzig. This was such an amazing experience. When visiting remember to also look up at the domed roof and admire the small intricate designs.

Bach's church where he worked and lived, and is buried. This is a must-see If you are in Leipzig. The interior is beautiful with stained glass and various carvings and ornamentation. The church and connected buildings are very large. I saw a couple school groups here.
Margaret L — Google review
Seeing Bach's church was the reason we came to Germany and it didn't disappoint, at least according to my Bachophile son. It was easy to buy tickets at the door and you could easily see the whole thing in 30 minutes. But very contemplative and it's fun to imagine history's greatest composer walking those same steps. I'd recommend bringing some headsets and Bach albums (although the museum next door had ample samples) as it was silent when we were there. There's a few interesting artifacts from Bach.
Mark C — Google review
I visited this church in March, 2025. I was deeply moved to visit this church, so rich in history and positive energy. Moreover, I felt the timelessness of Bach’s notes resonating throughout the space. It was truly thrilling! 💖
Save A — Google review
Beautiful church with excellent comprehensive guide in English. Don't miss the Bach artefacts in the small room on the right of the main entrance. Interesting stained glass and contemporary Bach organ. For those following Martin Luther, there's a window of him with Frederick the Wise and Melanchthon.

st. thomas church (thomaskirche) in leipzig is famous for its music. it's where j.s. bach worked for 27 years and is buried. it's also home to the legendary st. thomas boys choir (thomanerchor) – try to catch their weekly performances (motets) if you can. it's a beautiful, historic church and a must-see for any music fan in leipzig

This is one of the must see places in Leipzig. The place is temple for music and prayer. The art work and high gothic domes and the vibe is positive. It’s great to see that this was a great place for Leipzig music history.

St. Nicholas Church is an important architectural monument with interiors influenced by French classicism and distinctive palm-shaped columns. The church played a significant role in the events of 1989 in Leipzig, which led to the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe. Following the reunification of Germany, Leipzig experienced economic challenges but has since undergone significant revitalization, including the restoration of historical buildings and the development of new industries and modern infrastructure.
Small church but very beautiful. Specially the ceilings. There was Christmas market when we visited.
Steven C — Google review
An absolute must see if you are visiting Leipzig. The beautiful ceiling alone is worth the trip. There are interesting displays on the role the church played in the demonstrations in 1989.
Ellen — Google review
Very pretty church inside, and amazing cold-war era history to it. In fact I think one of the Stasi has been working in the Church since the wall came down judging by his manner when I visited a few weeks ago. OK so I was taking a photo (apologies as I never realised that taking a picture of a building that is dedicated to a make-believe figure is disrespectful, and I don't remember seeing Thou Shalt Not Take Pictures In My Holy Buildings in the commandments when Charlton Heston brought them forth from high upon a Hollywood hill somewhere), but this guy was just plain self righteous and rude. Be polite, and treat us mere mortal sinners as human beings. We make mistakes so why not forgive us our trespasses. Hmmm....where have I heard that phrase before?
David G — Google review
This church is deeply intertwined with history, offering a unique glimpse into the past. A must-visit for anyone interested in architecture and cultural heritage!
Asli Z — Google review
If you're visiting Leipzig, St. Nicholas Church is an absolute must-see. While it's historically and religiously significant, it's also an incredibly meaningful place in the history of music—making it especially memorable for those who love music and the arts. I’ve visited two years in a row to attend performances during the Bach Festival, and each time was a rich and unique experience thanks to the world-class music and the special atmosphere that only this venue can offer. Located right in the city center, the church is easily accessible and surrounded by plenty of other attractions and dining options within walking distance.
Just ! — Google review
For a people like mine, who have long yearned for recognition and self-determination, the story of the Peaceful Revolution that began here is incredibly moving. To think that these very walls, once a place of worship, became the cradle of a movement that brought down a regime without a single shot fired... it's a powerful reminder that change, true change, can sprout from the most unexpected places.
Ali G — Google review
While it feels strange to “rate” a church, I choose to do so in order to help maintain awareness of the importance of this church both as a place of worship and with its important place in music history. This is, after all, the church where Johan Sebastian Bach’s masterpiece, the St. John Passion, was first performed. During his many years of tenure in charge of the liturgical music for all of Leipzig’s churches at the time, Bach would have performed, directed the choir and written music for this church on numerous occasions.
Reginald W — Google review
It’s a highly historical place for the German reunification. It’s the place where protests were located and German people in the GDR gathered to stand up against the socialist regime. It’s a must see when in Leipzig! It’s free to visit but 3 Euro for pictures. It’s wonderfully renovated and colourful. Sometimes you even have the possibility to listen to concerts.

The Bach Museum in Leipzig is a celebration of the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach, showcasing interactive musical displays and original manuscripts. The museum offers a unique experience, with exhibits and artifacts displayed in the home of the composer's former neighbors. Visitors can explore different aspects of Bach's personal and professional history through cutting-edge research, interactive galleries, and original instruments owned by the illustrious family.
🍉The accoustic design must have been a big challenge. In the moderate space of the msueum packed with stories of family and music lineage, the curators have to fit in different types of music and narration. Sometimes, the same room, the size of your own living room, would have multiple sound stations. They got really creative in there! 🍉The graphic design and data visualization is also top notch. We spent a good two hours in there and wished we had more time. A must for music buffs.
Handan B — Google review
We love the museum— informative, fun, beautiful— especially the room where you could compose a song and the orchestra room. The young lady staff member inside the museum was lovely. The only downside was when we purchased the ticket. The old lady was incredibly grumpy and rude. How can you put a person like that as the first tourist touchpoint!?!
Soonyata M — Google review
The museum isn’t very big, and that’s exactly what makes it so enjoyable. What makes this museum especially fun are the interactive elements. You’re not just a spectator, but also a participant. There are installations you can try out or listen to, which makes the experience more vivid and personal. For anyone who loves classical art and culture, this place is truly worth a visit.
J ( — Google review
Such an amazing venue to learn about the timeline of one of the best composers of all time. The house is quite big with detailed description of Bach's musical stories. Interactive listening session is available inside. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Bach's music!
Barry L — Google review
We enjoyed our visit very much. The museum is light, bright and well laid out. The exhibits are engaging and varied and we learnt a lot about Bach and Leipzig. I couldn't ask for more from a museum.
Da S — Google review
Amazing museum definitely recommend for Bach and music lovers in general!
Gavin S — Google review
Wonderful, not to be missed museum on J. S. Bach's life and musical career. And it was free with English audio guide! The highlight for me, and I suspect other classical music lovers was the original and only remaining organ that he sat and played at next door St. Thomas church (which also must be seen). Quite sublime to think about.

Brilliant. A great overview of the great man and his stay in Leipzig. Definitely recommend the audio guide as it adds a lot of context to the exhibits and it's not too wordy. Highly recommend a visit here.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Zoo Leipzig is a top destination in Germany, offering an immersive experience for visitors to observe 850 different animal species in habitats that closely resemble their natural environments. From watching elephants swim through an underwater glass wall to encountering black howler monkeys and playful penguins, the zoo provides a diverse range of experiences. Visitors can also explore themed areas such as the tropical Gondwanaland, home to Germany's only Komodo Dragon, and the unique Pongoland featuring various primate species.
Absolutely worth recommendation. ZOO is quite large, 6 different world's to visit (I was first time and didn't see them all) We were looking rather slowly, enjoying the view and taking our time. All of animals have plenty of room and designed worlds mimic pretty well natural environments. All animals seems to be taked care of. One of the nicest attractions is slowly flow on a bout down the river, when you can observe exotic birds and plants. If you wondering if it's a good idea to spent time at this place? Do not think more. It's absolutely worth it.
Grzegorz D — Google review
Leipzig Zoo is hands down the best zoo I’ve ever been to – just go! The area is massive and beautifully designed, with tons of space to explore. The animals are surprisingly close, and there’s an amazing variety – I saw species I’d never even heard of before. There are plenty of spots to grab food or a drink along the way, which makes the whole visit super chill. The highlight for me was the tropical hall *Gondwanaland* – a huge indoor rainforest with its own climate. It’s seriously impressive and makes the whole experience feel really unique.
Kyrylo S — Google review
This Is the most amazing zoo I've ever been to. It's so big with the kids. We could only see a portion of it, but the jungle experience especially with the boat ride was so cool. All of the exhibits are wonderful. I would highly recommend to anyone to visit the zoo. Easily one of the best zoos in the world.
Ben — Google review
Beautiful zoo with a rich variety of animals and habitats! Especially Gondwanaland was amazing giving you the feeling of actually being in the jungle!( don’t forget to get on the little boat trip, super cheap and worth the experience). Love, Greece!!!🇬🇷❤️
Mouso — Google review
Leipzig Zoo is one of the best zoos I‘ve ever visited. Large enclosures. Many events throughout the day. Amazing infrastructure (you can find maps, sign posts, and directions for a tour that leads you through the entire zoo everywhere). They also don’t solely focus on the animals as mere entertainment but seek to inform kids in playful ways about preservation/biology/even physics in the aquarium. Leipzig Zoo also provides a variety of restaurants and snack bars that are evenly distributed across the entire Zoo. I wholly recommend visiting, whether alone or with friends and family. It’s an amazing and informative experience!
Aleksander — Google review
This zoo park was fantastic. I would recommend this to everyone. There is so much to see and you should have water with you because food and water prices there is too expensive. WC is free which is very good. And I suggest you guys to go early there, zoo opens at 9 am and closes at 7pm. As I mentioned earlier there is lot to see so you probably will need some rest. And one good thing about this zoo park is that you see animals without any borders and it is kind of crazy but it is safe. So enjoy with your trip everyone.
Lizi K — Google review
Zoo Leipzig is a great place to visit with kids. The grounds are very clean with almost no smell, and there are nice play and climbing facilities for children. A fun and family-friendly zoo experience!
David C — Google review
I went to Leipzig zoo with my family (kids aged 12, 15 and 16) with the very reasonably priced family ticket. The breadth of animals is brilliant and they were all housed in appropriate and spacious enclosures. We all loved the tropical area, a particular highlight was the giant otter feeding. It was a very busy day in the Summer holidays and some areas did feel quite busy but we still had a fantastic day, definitely one of the best zoos I have ever been to. There was only one issue and that was the number of people smoking all over the zoo, particularly in busy areas where there are lots of children it would be much better to have designated smoking areas and ban smoking in other places

Leipzig Botanical Garden is a historic and expansive university garden, boasting a diverse array of plant collections and greenhouses. Spanning 3.5 hectares, the garden showcases themed areas representing various global regions, including Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Beautiful place with lots to see. I highly recommend if you’re a plant lover, and they often have exhibits on exotic plants and animals as well. Staff is very friendly and speak English if you need that!
Kyle — Google review
Beautiful place, very peaceful and offers a lot to see. You can also pay a small fee and visit the greenhouses, where you can see plants from different ecosystems (tropical, Mediterranean, mangroves) and of course don't forget the butterfly house.
Khalil T — Google review
Stunning place and so well taken care of. Enjoyed the butterflies as well as the greenery. My partner and I just got engaged there, and it will always be a special memory 💜
Paige — Google review
For only €3 student entry this is an experience that you must go to whilst in Leipzig. All of the greenhouses were beautifully maintained and we got to see a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis which was a very special moment.
Harriet R — Google review
The hothouse where the butterflies are is quite small, and quite warm (especially since we visited on a summer day) but you can see the butterflies up close. I kind of expected more variety, but anyway, you do get to see some beautiful creatures.
Elena R — Google review
A pleasant afternoon activity 😊 would highly recommend 👌
Bamboo Z — Google review
Beautiful butterflies and exotic tropical plants in the glass house as well as some interesting cacti and succulents. Also had some cool plants for sale if only I'd not been flying so couldn't bring any home. Maybe a little expensive at €5 since quite small area but I guess you don't get a lot for €5 these days.

The Monument to the Battle of the Nations is a 91-meter-high memorial in Leipzig, commemorating the 1813 battle where Napoleon was defeated. It features a viewing platform and a history museum. Leipzig offers diverse attractions such as the Leipzig Book Fair, Bach Festival, cultural events, green spaces like the Riverside Forest and botanical gardens, and landmarks including the Bach Museum and St. Nicholas Church.
The Monument to the Battle of the Nations (Völkerschlachtdenkmal) is an absolute must-see in Leipzig. Towering at 91 meters, it commemorates the historic 1813 Battle of Leipzig, one of the largest conflicts in European history, where Napoleon’s army was decisively defeated. This striking monument is not only a symbol of resistance and unity but also a masterpiece of early 20th-century architecture. Surrounded by a tranquil reflecting pool and parkland, the monument offers an awe-inspiring exterior and an equally impressive interior. Visitors can ascend to the top for panoramic views of Leipzig and explore the solemn halls, giant warrior statues, and crypt-like chambers that leave a lasting emotional impact. Its grand scale, peaceful atmosphere, and deep historical significance make it one of the most important landmarks in the city. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply a curious traveler, this site offers a unique and unforgettable experience. Clean, well-maintained, and accessible, the Völkerschlachtdenkmal is more than just a monument—it’s a place of memory, reflection, and beauty. If you're visiting Leipzig, this iconic site belongs at the top of your list.
Alazani V — Google review
This amazing monument is a powerful reminder of the past and history. You can really feel the strong emotions when you’re there. Be prepared for lots of staircases—there are more than 350 steps, and some of them are in narrow, tiny hallways. It’s definitely not for claustrophobic people, but there’s an elevator that takes you up part of the way, though it doesn’t reach the top. It’s a great place to visit during the summer or spring when the weather is nice!
Sava F — Google review
A stunning monument that witnessed through its history empires, kingdoms and republics coming and going…. A must see by everyone who loves history! Fabulous views to the city as well as relaxing beautiful park!
Sorin S — Google review
Great experience with a rich history. I chose a non audio self tour and would highly recommend this. It's a place of reflection and would rather go undisturbed. The staircase to the top is steep though. Just so you know 😉
AA. A — Google review
If you had only one thing to do in Leipzig, please visit this place. This monument is the tallest in all of Europe and it commemorates the war that broke Napoleon. No tickets required
Paul T — Google review
This intense and impressive monument is a MUST SEE if you are in Leipzig. The scale is stunning and is reminiscent of the Mines of Moria in Lord of the Rings. There are multiple lifts but if you want to get to the top viewing area, you have to use the stairs and it is a little walk. No bad, but most people emerged a little winded and sweaty. The sweeping views of Leipzig are great and, if you go on a sunny day, you can see many miles/kilometers in every direction. Highly recommended.
Chad T — Google review
A really impressive monument. It really makes you feel the enormity of the event being memorialized much like the World War I monument in Kansas City. There was a feeling of heaviness about the monument and it made me feel retrospective. A very nice visit. A stroll through the cemetery nextdoor is also warranted.
Ike I — Google review
It's really a great memorial of history and the way the people looked at history more than hundred years ago. The museum isn't very big and informative, but the battle miniatures are quite interesting.

Leipzig's Gewandhaus is a renowned concert hall that houses the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. The city offers a diverse range of cultural experiences, from the Leipzig Book Fair to the annual Bach Festival celebrating Johann Sebastian Bach's legacy in the city. Visitors can also explore landmarks such as the Bach Museum, Town Hall, St. Nicholas Church, and Old Stock Exchange.
The exterior may look a little brutalist but at night when lit it's a completely different experience and glimmers. A true joy to experience Beethoven's 9th here. The Gewandhaus Orchester and choir were incredible. Wonderful acoustics and no bad seat in the whole hall. Easy access and quick service at the buffets and cloakroom. Excellent
Paul — Google review
Haven’t been to a concert yet so will update this weekend but our first experience of the organization was one of getting an issue resolved with our tickets. The staff responding online as well as the staff on the premises both worked hard and efficiently to get an issue with our seats resolved. Very impressed. Having now attended one concert at the Grand (Grosse) Hall I can attest to its great acoustics. Appearance is a matter of personal taste but I also like its appearance. Some of the artwork on display may dismay—indeed distress—some folks but I’m happy to see tribute paid to more than just the august members of the elites of classical composers and performers.

Listened to Lord of the Rings here. The seats were good, There were plenty of bars and the drinks we pre-ordered worked well. The queues for the Garderobe were long, both before and after the concert.

One of the best orchestra in the world. I came to Leipzig mainly to have one experience with Gewanhaus Leipzig Orchestra. Under the baton of Maestro Andris Nelsons, Bruckner symphony #8 was so affection. The acustic and layout of the concert hall is nice.
Sumpun T — Google review
I had heard many positive rumors about the excellent acoustics of Gewandhaus and the outstanding performance skills of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and it truly lived up to the expectations. I could feel the vibrations of the sound with my body, and the artists' playing skills were exceptional as well. Thanks to this, I had a wonderful end to the year. The Memorial Museum in the 'Round Corner' is located in a former secret police building and offers audio tours and displays on the Stasi and life in East Germany. The museum is situated in the former alternative command center of the Leipzig district administration for state security, built in 1968. It served as a headquarters for around 100 full-time employees during times of tension and mobilization.
Today a museum, yesterday a power center for spies with bureaucratic charm. Anyone who's ever wanted to know what life was like between a bug and a vote of no confidence can immerse themselves in the world of the Stasi in true style here. There are recreated officers' quarters, an exhibition about canned scents secretly taken from unsuspecting citizens, a wig exhibition, and content about GDR postal lawbreakers. From operational psychology to the death penalty, there's everything a paranoid or history-loving heart desires. There's even football memorabilia, if you still want to believe in BFC Dynamo amidst the decomposition and surveillance. It feels like Big Brother's playground in the middle of the former welfare state.
Tilman B — Google review
The information was interesting, but none of the signage, pictures or captions had English translations. Entrance and audio guide included is 5 euro per person. The overview in the audio is good, but just that an overview. We used Google translate a lot to read captions and the materials on the wall. It could have been so much more interesting.
Lolly J — Google review
An absolute must visit if you're interested in Cold War history. The fact that former Stasi station serves as a museum with a lot of the rooms still the way they used to be was surreal. You can rent an audio guide in various languages to interpret the different rooms and the artifacts. There is also a recreation of a prison cell that the Stasi would have used. These sites are so important to remember this history and educate about the dangers of dictatorship.
Sean B — Google review
A very interesting museum about the secret police and espionage of East Germany. Entry is free, and the audio guide costs 5 euros (available in Spanish as well). There are plenty of fascinating facts and stories — and important lessons that should never be forgotten or repeated.
Manuel B — Google review
Walk in thinking the visit was free but it is not! It is €5 and if you want the audio guide is included! It helps with the explanation of the items as all is in German but not all is explained. The museum is pretty interesting one, with spies items! The building is a bit hot. There is a bathroom available too!
Virginia L — Google review
Interesting small museum that is coordinated by volunteers. The location is incredible, as the original setting of the Stasi headquarters in Leipzig is preserved very well! Most of the information is only in German, although audio guides are available in many languages which provide the main story. If I had to mention an improvement point: maybe make the translated texts available online or in an app. For now, however, Google Translate works well. As is still custom in many parts of Germany, only cash payments are accepted (5 euros per person, including the audio guide).
Niels G — Google review
The history of the building itself is very interesting, for what purposes it was used. Unfortunately, the museum itself is done in an old-fashioned way: a lot of text on the walls. The entrance fee was 5€, including an audio guide with very long and detailed explanations.
Janette G — Google review
A fascinating experience. I know there may be people that would say the exhibition style is too low-tech, but I say they should not change a thing as it perfectly channels the drab banality of the DDR and administrative cruelty that the offices were used for. Multi lingual audio guides are great

Belantis Theme Park is a vibrant amusement destination that promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Open from April to October, this park features over 60 exhilarating rides and captivating shows spread across eight distinct themed areas. From the thrilling roller coasters that will get your heart racing to charming kiddie rides perfect for younger guests, Belantis offers a delightful mix of excitement and family-friendly fun.
What a big amusement park. Absolutely recommended. Price is not expensive in comparison to what you get inside, specially Fluxht der Pharao…..hamer….if it was in West Germany, you had seen huge crowd but I guess in east Germany Belantis is best adventure/Theme park .

A best place in Germany to spend time with family. And one of the best for a day trip from Leipzig. It definitely do require to spend a full day to see the park completely. One less attractive thing is the less number of activities for the small children under 7 years and specially under 3 years. Park is very large and have very nice scenic views. One of my favorite ride was red rollercoaster. Those who love slushy drink will get a lot here and you need a full day to sit on all rides. Enjoy your visit

We went there today and I should say I’m quite disappointed because I was having high expectations. I knew they opened yesterday but there was too many technical issues which they should check before opening we went to pyramid one first it wasn’t working and small roller coaster weren’t working after we spend some time other side of the park they worked but it shouldn’t even happen. When we finished we went to souvenir shop my bf wanted to buy souvenirs we waited in the queue for payment then they said they system got broken. We couldn’t buy the souvenirs as well. Overall I’m disappointed, I don’t think I would visit there again.
Aurora — Google review
The park not very good. Old, cracked. Atrractions old and not designed to ride well because you got a lot of shaking. Hurricane would be so good, but ot was shaking so much i was hitting my head over and over again all over the rollercoaster.. Its not so cheap for this kind of park also. But if you wasnt anywhere but here your first park, it ok
Elzbieta J — Google review
The biggest issue in our opinion is the price. 90€ for two tickets, 5€ parking, 30€ two meals of frozen food, a mini waffle 3,50€, two slushies 15€. If you'd cut everything in half we still wouldn't rate it super high, but then it becomes much easier to stomach. There simply isn't enough "love" in the park. The attractions aren't very modern, many going back as far as decades ago. That in itself would be fine, if there would be new attractions to make up for it. I think the park is decent for families with children though, since they do have mostly attractions for that demographic. Adults are probably going to have a hard time (only 3 roller coasters) All in all this makes it a very tough sell, because you have many alternatives that are either priced much more competitively, or ones with a better reputation, being bigger and better. The big highlight was the pyramid. That was definitely worthy and beautiful to look at. Unfortunately the fact that you had to pay to get dried after the water slide of the pyramid left a bitter aftertaste. After all the expenses paying an additional 3€ just to get dried because the water slide completely left you wet and cold is just pure greed. Another positive experience was the castle rollercoaster, that one is beautiful, fun, although a little short. However that wasn't the most egregious thing that happened during our visit. We paid a decent bit more because of the Halloween season, despite that some of the Halloween attractions required additional pay? We've visited many amusement parks and we are aware of the cost of food, drinks, mini games where you can win plushies, there is plenty of that here in Belantis as well, but the fact that you have to pay additional money for seasonal attractions is extremely scummy behavior. Our last point, before coming to an end is about the logistics. We got lost multiple times with the entry to the attraction not being close to the attraction or for whatever illogical reason on a completely different side, quite far away from it.
Alex C — Google review
Honestly, I was told to lower my expectations when coming here. As a result, I came to the park with very little expectations, but all my fears were for nothing. The park is very open, and there is nice theming for most of the attractions. I especially like the pyramid water ride, it’s quite unique. Staff is very friendly and even spoke English! (Was not expecting that to be honest). Pricing is on point too. Food-wise they can still improve. We took the pasta, and the adult portions seemed like they were meant for children. (They weren’t, we checked). Still, we had a great time here. I hope they try to water their grass a bit more, it would make a big difference and make everything seem a bit more green. Fun park though.
Thomas — Google review
Pleasantly surprised by this amusement park! It has a great variety of roller coasters for the whole family and not crowded at all - despite a public holiday and a beautiful weather. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the Halloween theme. The only area for improvement could be the food offering. It was unfortunately too poor quality for such a price and too little variety. But overall highly recommend it as a one-off family experience.
N W — Google review
I like this amusement park. My kids love this. If you visit here more than twice, I recommend you to purchase annual ticket. Annual tickets also provide discounted price for food in the restaurant.

A good, well stocked bar. Breakfast is continental, sadly none of the thinly sliced cheese on offer has any flavour, but the bread is good. The room was comfortable and you can open the window. The shower was very effective, too.

Excellent: very clean, nicely decorated and well organized rooms. Great bar atmosphere, day or night. Very good breakfast. Perfect services. Right in the heart of Leipzig.

Nothing can beat the location of the Hotel in the old city center, depending on the room one can even get quite a good view. The staff was friendly but didn’t seem like they tried to find solutions for problems. The rooms are quite nice with a modern interior and a spa like atmosphere.

Stayed for four nights, August 2024, and couldn't fault it. It's a very good hotel right in the middle of Leipzig city centre. Clean rooms, good breakfast, lovely staff. Rooms are on the small side, basic, but who stays in them except to sleep. Go out to one of the very good bars or restaurants.

Hotel Motel One is a nice, clean, modern hotel in a very central location of Leipzig. The rooms are modern but a little more basic than I thought they would be. It’s a comfy stay if you’re just exploring the city.
Carlos U — Google review
Overall good value for money and great location. Unfortunately we were unlucky - one of the two lifts was out of order (3rd floor was manageable for those able to take the stairs) and the nearby construction noise starting before 8a on a Saturday morning was unacceptable. In addition it was mentioned (only in the hotel after arrival) that there would be construction work from 9a from the garage - the drill hammer noise starting sharp at 9 was the final straw to downgrade the rating. So if you plan to book I would recommend to check beforehand about the construction work and other issues that might impact your stay. Next time we will try one of the other two Motel One hotels nearby.
S M — Google review
This seems to be a hotel focused on lower pricing but in this case well positioned in central Leipzig. Accordingly, the rooms are small and minimalistic. Bed are good and the place is quiet. Good breakfast. People at the front desk are friendly and helpful.

Teahouse Leipzig, located within the historic Old Town Hall, offers a delightful afternoon tea experience that perfectly blends tradition with elegance. This remarkable venue is not only celebrated for its exquisite tea offerings but also for its stunning Renaissance architecture, which stands as one of Germany's most beautiful buildings. Overlooking the bustling market square, it provides an ideal spot for people-watching while immersing yourself in the rich history of Leipzig.
Great selection of tea and gifts despite being a very small shop. Nice staff too.

(Translated by Google) ☕️💚 Here, tea enjoyment is lived with heart! For me, the Tea House Leipzig is much more than just a shop – it's a place where tea, enjoyment, and well-being come together in a wonderful way. As soon as you enter, you sense the loving atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. I'm always particularly impressed by the expert and personal advice. Tea isn't just sold here – it's lived here. They take their time, listen, and give honest recommendations, and I've always found exactly what suits my taste. Tastings I've enjoyed outside of the shop have only enhanced the charm of the whole experience. All of these experiences are true highlights for me and have allowed me to see and perceive tea with completely different eyes. Whether for myself or as a gift – every tea from the Tea House Leipzig was a hit. Quality, variety, and attention to detail characterize this special place. Not only is tea served, but also enthusiasm and a genuine connection to the product. A true Leipzig gem for all tea lovers, and even those who aren't yet – highly recommended! 💚☕️

Spinnerei BetriebsgesellschaftmbH is a historical wool factory that has been transformed into a vibrant hub for the arts. It now houses thirteen galleries and provides workspace for around 100 artists, who often showcase their work through temporary exhibitions. The space also serves as a trendy hangout spot, featuring a coffee shop and a small cinema that screens movies on film. Additionally, visitors can enjoy snacks from the nearby deli in the former soup canning factory.
It’s a historical place: a wool factory 🏭 and now it turns into a place for arts where many artists gather to stay and show their work through temporary exhibitions. Most of them also use the space as their workshops. Since it’s a temporary exhibition spot, there are always different artists and exhibitions in every period. When I went there, most of them are contemporary arts, few of them doing other stuff such as jewelry, pots, etc. There’s a big art supply store in the middle of the factory site and a very nice coffee shop & restaurant nestled at the beginning of the site located at the front gate. Usually there are many artists, art students, & visitors enjoying lunch or a cup of coffee here. Almost all the exhibitions are free. The only part requires a fee is the transportation exhibition (4€/person and €2/student). It’s an interesting place for art enthusiasts.

Given all the hype this place this place has gotten it’s a huge disappointment. Yes it has potential but that’s a long way off. But it has a lot of potential and it's nice that they're trying to use the area in a variety of ways. Restaurant
Auerbachs Keller is a renowned landmark restaurant in Leipzig, Germany, dating back to 1525. It gained fame as the place where Goethe wrote part of Faust and featured it in his play. The restaurant comprises three distinct spaces: the vaulted Grosser Keller offering hearty Saxon dishes, the Historische Weinstuben for upscale fare and set menus, and the Mephisto Bar serving coffee during the day and cocktails at night.
The atmosphere is wonderful, with beautifully painted walls that create a unique vibe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed both the garlic soup and the main course, you can truly feel the quality in the food. The prices are a bit on the high side, but it’s definitely worth trying at least once. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience!
Mohammad — Google review
We found it on the Google Maps and give it a go! The restaurant itself was underground and it was beautiful, lots painted walls and painted columns! The food itself was not really that great but is pretty good with portions. The lamb shoulder I ordered was pretty bland. We were going to order some dessert but our waitress was no where to be found for 10 minutes. We lost the appetite when she finally shows up!
Steven C — Google review
I've always wanted to visit this famous place, and today I finally had the chance since I was out in the city for some errands and decided to have lunch there. We visited just before 2 PM, and since it was a quiet time with fewer customers, we were able to get seated immediately. The peaceful and calm atmosphere made for a relaxing meal and good conversation. Thanks to that, we didn’t have to wait or make a reservation, which was very convenient. However, after being shown to our seats, it took about 10 minutes before we could place our order. The appetizer (soup) was served approximately 25 minutes later, and the main dishes arrived about 30 minutes after that. Altogether, from being seated to receiving our main courses, it took nearly an hour. Fortunately, we had plenty of time today, but if you’re on a tight schedule, I recommend planning accordingly and arriving with extra time. The staff was polite, the food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. The interior had warm colors and a clean, well-organized feel, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

This is an old German restaurant in the heart of Leipzig. According to urban legend, it's mentioned in Goethe's immortal Faust. It's advisable to make a reservation, although we were able to find a seat. I really liked the ambiance and service, but the food could have been better.
Anar — Google review
I went there based on the reviews. Honestly the food portions are huge me & my wife ordered 2 veal schnitzel plates and I believe one was enough with an appetiser perhaps. Now the atmosphere inside was quite chic and the waiters were quite nice however, it was definitely over priced and there was a rusty smell inside that would not make you comfortable to stay for long. Keep in mind you would pay for almost anything. I paid 2€ for tap water for 2 cups !! and 2€ to take the leftovers as takeaway which was completely weird for me !! And to top it off using the bathroom was 0.5€ per visit can you imagine this !!!. I would honestly think there are way cheaper places to try the same dish in Leipzig than this one, definitely a touristic trap!!
Khaled A — Google review
The boar steak, the Blauklaut and Knodels were absolutely delicious. Also the atmosphere and themes are breathtakingly memorable. If you are in Leipzig, you must visit here!

We do not recommend Auerbachs Keller's vegetarian dishes to vegetarians. The main courses were a big disappointment! We were very curious based on the reviews and to try the restaurant. We did not have a reservation on Saturday evening, but after a few minutes of waiting we got a free table. We knew that mainly meat dishes "go" in the restaurant. However, there were some vegetarian main courses on the online menu, so we were happy to try them. The employees were very nice. The soups were delicious (but extremely overpriced - a small cup is 9-9.50 Euros). Ok. So be it! The cellar is nice! But for the 23 Euro vegetarian main courses to be just stewed greens with a little pasta or cream? Outrageous and underrated! German vegetarian cuisine is much more than that! This visit was a bad gastronomic experience and a waste of money for us. There is no service, if the food is bad!

The review is not about Asisi himself, the son of Iranian parents – his works are brilliant. But a panorama like this without an elevator? I don’t know what the full bus of retirees thought when they arrived just as I was entering. The whole point is to see the artwork from above – that’s how the artist intended and designed it. You don’t really experience it properly from below. I’m glad I didn’t bring my mother – she would have struggled with all the stairs. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful piece of work, although I found Asisi’s installations in Berlin and Dresden even more impressive.

5 Stars less 1 star because of not much to see inside. Exceptional structure and similar to Russian Ethnicity. Always good to see shining under blazing Sun. The top of this Kirche is golden and below it's soothing white, provides a mix of great eye-catching frame. Fine sculptures and Arc in the gate in upstairs silently say lots of thing about this old church. Scriptures and wall emblems will also amaze you. Inside of this church entrails very less for visitors. But lovely paintings surely attract much attention. Be careful while crossing the streets as the church is sitting in a juncture of three main lanes. Follow the signal and feel the beauty from a closer distance. The tiny garden in front, with seasonal blooms gives a perfect mixture of love and happiness. One of the hidden gems in Leipzig.

State park
Nestled in the heart of Leipzig, Richard-Wagner-Hain is a charming oasis that beautifully blends history and leisure. This picturesque area not only boasts a rich musical heritage—being associated with legends like Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as choir director at the nearby church, and Richard Wagner himself—but also offers a vibrant space for relaxation and recreation. In summer, visitors can enjoy various activities such as Frisbee throwing or volleyball games while soaking up the sun by the water's edge.

School
Nestled in a historic Lutheran church, the Music School Johann Sebastian Bach is a treasure trove of musical heritage. This venue was once home to the legendary composer himself, who served as choir director from 1723 until his passing in 1750. The school fosters a strong sense of community among its students and hosts various high-quality events that celebrate music. While securing a teaching spot may not always be guaranteed, the camaraderie and engaging activities make it worthwhile.

The babies always had a lot of fun. The course is very freely designed. If a child would rather crawl, walk or play with another child, that's no problem at all. The babies have a lot to discover and always have fun. The prices are good. It is important to know that the music school also runs the baby course after the school holidays in Saxony. You book the course for six months, but there is not a course every week. It's no problem if you're missing. The course hours do not build on each other. So you can easily get into the process at any time. (Original) Wir waren beim "Babysingen". Stay away at all costs. Completely appalled with my experience here. This business will lie in their responses in google reviews just to make them sound better. They have an alarm in the back that can be triggered if you even try touch a book on a shelf (what’s the point of being bookstore then) near it then will accuse you of trying to enter an office. I’d steer clear. They also expect the customer to do the first greeting at the beginning with a simple nod not cutting it so they won’t greet you. Lying in google reviews is not ok, don’t trust businesses that accuse people of false actions.

Big shoes store in central old city Leipzig. Shoes for men, women, kids, sport, casual and elegant. Fare prices, the service is in german language, but workers were so polite so we managed the language barrier
Avital A — Google review
Terrible! All my reviews have been positive but due to terrible service not this one. I do not like writing bad things. But do not shop at Schuhhaus Zimmermann OHG I bought sandals made by Duckfeet. Because the shoes were of high quality material and costly I wore them for a few days. After the second day it was clear the shoes were faulty. I had blisters, open-wounds, and a bleeding toe. At one point the shoes hurt so much, I had to take them off and walk home barefoot. Thank god it is summer. Because I thought this was a store with only quality shoes I walked in them longer than I should have (700 meters or so) over two days thinking things would get better. But flat sandals should not give a person blisters and make their toes bleed. When I went to the store five days after purchasing the shoes with the receipt and having worn the shoes for a few hours for two of those days the two employees refused to provide a switch, money back or any alternative. They "believed me", they had no choice because they saw my toes, but because the shoes were worn they said, they could do nothing. Yes the shoes were worn but not overly, what one would except when breaking in new shoes over a two days for a few hours each day. Because this was not a cheap low quality store I thought it was reasonable to assume that the costumer should try out the shoes. I do not like writing bad things but the two of them merely agreed with each other and clearly were not willing to provide any solution other than I could rub oil on the shoes to soften the leather. One seller proceed to massage the leather with some tool, which made the shoes further broken down and less returnable. Oh, and they also recommended a shoe repair person. After spending a good amount of money on a a pair of sandals this does not seem fair. I also did not raise my voice or demand good service. At the same time, the pair stonewalled me and only reassured me that they would do nothing to come to a workable solution for us as group confronted with a problem. Also the shoes came with no instructions that the buyer would have to massage the leather to ensure their feet would not hurt let alone bleed. Some shoes have care instructions and when they do I do no buy them because as a busy professional I do not have time to worry about these sorts of things. I will also let the manufacturer know. I am sure they are not in the business of the selling faulty shoes. This really too bad I almost bought two more pairs the day I was in. I thought I would form a long term relationship with this store. I will not go again and will recommend to everyone I know that they shop else where.

Doctor
Miss Dr. med. Catrin Demandt is a dedicated pediatrician who has been providing care for children for about 7 years, with a special focus on the well-being of her young patients. She is known to be sensitive, attentive, and always there for both the children and their parents. The practice where she works ensures that even in situations where telephone accessibility may be limited, the staff prioritize essential care for sick children. This commitment to patient well-being reflects Dr.
(Translated by Google) I am shocked by the negative reviews here. We have been with Dr. for 8 years. Demands treatment. First with one child, now with three children. She is a very competent pediatrician. She worked at St. Georg for a long time, where she still enjoys a good reputation today. She is also a pediatric cardiologist, which saved us a long wait for a specialist appointment with our third child and we were able to receive competent professional care. It's true that the practice is sometimes difficult to reach, especially on Monday mornings for acute consultations, but I don't give you any deductions for that. What does that have to do with your professional competence? I've also never been turned away with a sick, feverish child. Especially since the practice uses Doctolib, it's easy to reach them by message. I've even had a video conference twice via this portal and had to do so because of e.g. B. If you have a skin rash, do not go to the practice. Ms. Dr. Demandt always takes her time and explains everything in detail. If she doesn't know what to do, she's always willing to refer you to specialists. Even if there were findings that we were waiting for, she always called after consultation hours and evaluated them with us. Personally, I think it's very good that Dr. Demands emergency services 1. Dear parents, in an emergency we should be happy that such doctors exist. 2. I know that she knows what to do in an emergency. It is also additional training, so it is well informed and always up to date. There is always a substitute doctor on their website, and we have never been sent away. She is super friendly with the children and so far all of our fears and concerns have been taken seriously. I have three children and she even suggested that I take a mother-child treatment when she had the impression that I wasn't feeling well. What I mean by this is that she also keeps an eye on the parents and cares about their well-being. We feel very well looked after here and I can't confirm any of the bad reviews.

(Translated by Google) I also cannot make any negative statements about the treatment, Dr. Demandt has always been very competent, takes a lot of time and calmly answers all questions. I liked her very much. Recently, however, I drew attention to the lack of accessibility to the practice in a review here, after personal contacts came to nothing... No one can ever be reached by telephone, I have already sent faxes out of desperation (welcome to... 21st century) and begged for me to be called back, which worked about 60% of the time. During our last visit I was asked to delete my review; they had "printed everything out and could take action against it," that's what they said, and that was only because I mentioned the name of a sister who - out of necessity because I couldn't be reached - Every time you visit the practice unannounced, you are warned not to come by unannounced (huh?). Long story short, I think that if you look at these disastrous reviews, it makes no sense to ask everyone to delete their review, but rather you should work on the cause, which is always the same in 99% of the reviews . We changed pediatricians and - there are WORLDS of differences. We wish Mrs. Dr. and all the best to the team.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, I can never reach the practice by phone, let alone have an email address, e.g. to ask for findings or something similar... there are numerous matters that could be clarified more easily... I'm now writing here. I belong to the working population, like many others, and do not always have the opportunity, or sometimes no opportunity at all, to collect a report that another doctor sent to our pediatrician (Dr. Demandt) to give to us. If it's time to drive to the practice to pick it up, the doctor is either on emergency duty or the practice is closed. Currently due to illness… which is completely understandable. Unfortunately, despite all of this, the practice is not even represented by the nurses to be able to make an appointment, get prescriptions, etc. Feel free to prove me wrong, but these are my experiences and have been for 7 years. Nobody in the team has ever been unfriendly to us, we have always been treated kindly. My main concern is the lack of accessibility! I really hope that this finally changes.

That's what Dr. Demant for my 2 children for about 7 years and has also been there intensively for my youngest daughter for almost 3 years. Sensitive, correct and concerned with the child's well-being. Just as it should be. She is also always there for me as a parent. Sometimes you feel insecure and Dr. Demant takes away your worries in every respect. So dear parents, just ignore the telephone availability and go there. (Translated by Google) I can't say anything bad about the doctor's treatment. However, the reliability and accessibility of this practice leaves more than to be desired. Promised calls to communicate important laboratory results are not kept despite multiple arrangements. Trying to get someone on the phone is abysmal. After 87!!!!! Trying to surrender at some point. An answering machine or other contact option, for example by email, is not offered. You also wait in vain for calls back. If you are now sitting at home with a sick child who you can only come to the practice with by prior appointment, you are lost. Such conditions are underground and despite several similar complaints (see reviews), there is no improvement. (Translated by Google) If I could, I wouldn't give a single star. Unfortunately, almost all pediatricians are no longer accepting patients. That's why I was happy that I stayed here and that the practice was close to us. Unfortunately, this practice is permanently closed because Dr. also drives as an emergency doctor. Either there is a replacement for an hour or no replacement at all and then you are left with your sick child and don't know where to go. If there is a replacement, you will be turned away because the practice is too full. You then have to see how you can somehow get your child over the weekend. Appointments are also canceled due to emergency doctor service and you then have to arrange a new appointment yourself. If you have an appointment for the U-examination, you have to wait a long time between all the sick children. I then left again and asked for a new appointment. But 30 minutes were enough for my child to become infected. The practice can never be reached by telephone. Either it's constantly busy or no one answers. I'm glad we found another pediatrician now.

My daughter's acute middle ear infection was not diagnosed. End of story, emergency service and a ruptured eardrum, less than 12 hours after the appointment with her in the practice. We will change and advise against it. The journey here, driving from Marktplatz Leipzig is impossible. Both Google maps and Tesla Navigation didn’t work to bring us to the venue. Lots of road closures and rerouting. The Catholic Church in front of the Protestant Town Hall is a very interesting sight. The position of the church is strange, but it still looks very nice. The members of the church were very friendly towards me and showed me around their church.
A beautiful city church in the center next to a putztei church. I really enjoy going to this church. Have the holidays or in between. Let's just take this beautiful church in the center with us. This prostate church is a great big cherry, all students near and far, rich and poor, come here to the beautiful city limits at the church in here the model cherry which is just really beautiful. It's been 10 years, that's exactly right. The church is very beautiful. There are a lot of people over a large area, 300 people maybe 500, not all guests can stay well and celebrate good holidays well into the time.

Visited Leipzig 3-5.11.17. The staff, congregants, and Father Philip made this tourist feel most welcome! Participated in Friday evening (18:00) mass. I was so happy to be able to receive Holy Eucharist on the first Friday of the month. I was worried it would not be possible, but the location of the church, a ten minute walk from my hotel, was a true blessing. Lovely experience. Then on Sunday, I was able to return for the 09:30 Family mass. The energy was super. And the Holy Spirit was present. I was also able to receive confession from Fr. Philip. An unexpected request from me, graciously accepted from him, made me most grateful. I am very thankful and recommend the church to all Catholics visiting. To non-Catholics I also can recommend the opportunity to see the inside and sit in peace.

Please It was very humiliating for me a catholic who is nigerian but was a student from Ukraine, to have come here to seek for food only to be told that food was for Ukrainian citizens. Please whoever is in charge of this, should correct this oversight with immediate effect. Food should be given to anyone who shows that he came from Ukraine, no division. Thank you.

The Peterskirche in Leipzig is an impressive evangelical church built in the style of French cathedral Gothic. It is often called 'Old St. Peter' due to its age and is close to several universities, making it a significant inner city church. The stained glass is remarkable and the smell of wood is not fresh, implying that construction or renovation has taken place for some time. The overall vibe feels stable, which can be attributed to its history and architecture.
most beautiful church in Leipzig. Great gothic style in outside but inside is not that good
Metin T — Google review
Nothing about this art is holy or divinely inspired. There is a dark, cold, inhumanness to each silhouette. Their giant size making them all the more imposing. Like something from a nightmare. Who decided this was appropriate for a house of God?
Daniel C — Google review
Remarkable, beautiful, unique, It's remarkable how the processes of ongoing restoration and construction impact the atmosphere in the St Peter's Church. Other churches are dominated by a hushed reverence or a meditative stillness. Only children dare break the subdued silence. Here, the artisans are at work. They make conversations, they communicate about the run of the cables, their tools and bustle create a very relatable tapestry of sound. Where other places of worship are sometimes sterile, seemingly devoid of life and warmth, merry even slightly forbidding, here, the fact that you can see a very day-to-day life unfolding invites you to a very different, very humane meditation.

Lutherenkirche or peterkirche is situated between two streets, Reimanstraße und Schletterstraße. And fairly 25 meters walk from Café Waldi. This is what I believe a neglected church in Leipzig. It's dirty and a dumpster is widely open in front of the entrance. I personally like this church and it's minute Gothic descriptions. Nothing much to say about this.

Nestled in the charming area of Schönefeld, now part of Leipzig, Saxony, the Gedächtniskirche Schönefeld stands as a testament to history and community spirit. Originally constructed in 1816 after a fire destroyed its predecessor, this Lutheran church was later named a memorial for fallen soldiers in 1916.
