Park
Nature & Parks
Kadriorg Park is a historic city park in Tallinn, Estonia, established in the 18th century and home to the impressive Kadriorg Palace. The park features formal gardens, museums, and monuments. Visitors can explore a wide range of museums within the park, including art museums like Kumu Art Museum and unique ones such as the Estonian Health Museum and Soviet Statue Graveyard.
Kadriorg Park is a true gem in the heart of Tallinn. Beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of history. The flower gardens are stunning in summer, and the autumn colors are magical. Perfect for a relaxing walk, a romantic date, or a family picnic. The Swan Pond, Japanese Garden, and elegant palace architecture make it feel like a fairy tale. Great place to escape the city noise without ever leaving it. One of my favorite spots in Estonia — always worth a visit!
Stiven D — Google review
It’s a nice park, pretty big in total, even if it’s cut up by a road. A few playgrounds for kids, but they looked a bit worn down. The real downside is that they’ve really kept down the number of trees. They’re very sparsely planted, so you almost always see the surrounding city. Never any sense of being in a small forest. Also not a lot of variety overall. It mostly looks the same across the whole park. Except for a small area where there’s a Japanese inspired garden. I’ve for sure seen nicer parks, but this one is fine for a stroll. Not too crowded, even on a nice Sunday afternoon.
Robert I — Google review
A beautiful park in the city center, accessible by tram No. 1. A place to enjoy the scenic views, relax, enjoy the beauty of nature, and gain peace of mind.
Khalil B — Google review
Beautiful park and easily reachable with public transportation. It has really nice walkable paths and hosts several museums. It's a must for a several days itinerary in Tallinn. With gloomy weather this park gives Irish/Scottish vibes.
Valentino I — Google review
Nice park with well maintained gardens behind the palace art museum. Lots of museums scattered through the park as well! There was a cafe and a few (pay-to-use) bathrooms as well.
Sian C — Google review
Very nice and spacious park area with both Kadriorg castle and the presidential residence. Ran into the president himself by chance. Great place for a run
Paul O — Google review
**"Kadriorg Palace and its gardens are an absolute gem in Tallinn. The palace itself is stunning – a beautiful example of baroque architecture, with elegant halls and ornate details that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Inside, the art collection is well-curated and offers a great glimpse into Estonia’s cultural heritage. The gardens are just as impressive. Perfectly landscaped, with colorful flower beds, fountains, and tree-lined paths, they are a peaceful escape from the city bustle. I visited in summer, and everything was in full bloom – it felt like walking through a living painting. Even if you’re not into art, a stroll through the gardens alone is worth the visit. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy a coffee in the nearby café, and simply soak in the beauty. Definitely a must-see when in Tallinn
Maria C — Google review
Kadriorg Park in Tallinn was created in 1718 by Russian Tsar Peter the Great as a summer residence for his wife, Catherine I – its name means “Catherine’s Valley.” The park was designed in Baroque style by Italian architect Niccolò Michetti, featuring symmetrical paths, colorful flowerbeds, fountains, and the Swan Pond. Today, it remains one of Tallinn’s most beautiful green spaces, home to the Kadriorg Palace, Kumu Art Museum, and even a Japanese Garden, blending history, art, and nature in perfect harmony.

The Tallinn TV Tower is an impressive 314-meter communications tower in Tallinn, Estonia. It was built in 1980 to enhance broadcasting services for the Moscow Summer Olympics. Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction with a glass-floored viewing platform on the 21st level that offers stunning panoramic views of Tallinn and its surroundings.
Very cool they've done a great job with it. You go 360° around it on the inside and then on the outside they have a quarter balcony that's attached to the restaurant which is also very good and not very expensive. The food is amazing. I had the schnitzel with the sauce and fries which were great!
Greg A — Google review
Be aware!!! For €19 per person you get a lift to 21st floor - where you can buy other “experiences” like silly pictures or VR whilst sitting on the chair. There apparently is some history exhibitions but it was unfortunately closed on the day of our visit and nobody bothered to tell us beforehand. Still full price ticket. They are showing “art” of a lunatic and you can buy an espresso for €3.50 at 22 floor. So for €19 you are taking a lift to see dirty carpet, dirty toilets and not working floor windows (except 1) - absolutely pathetic. Now I know why they do not accept ICOM cards - they would have to be ashamed for what they are actually selling. Absolute SCAM - as those places are everywhere in the world free - when you are having a restaurant or cafe in the top where you can spend your money ((
Natália — Google review
Very big disappointment! So many things are wrong about this place. When you buy a single full admission ticket online it’s 18 euros, same ticket on the spot will be 19 - cashier didn’t give heads up about it while selling the tickets. There’s almost no exhibition, really just several photos and fun facts, all looked old and used, and seemed that designed for children, not adults. There’s a small exhibition on the 2nd floor, also auditorium, then on the floor 21 there’s 360 degrees observation spot (not impressive, same old and used) and on the floor 22 - restaurant and small part of the open terrace where you can walk behind the wire fence. Overall, really overpriced place, and I cannot understand why do many positive reviews… We do not recommend it!
Olha K — Google review
The TV Tower offered good views and a simple layout for exploring the upper levels. The outlook across the city was impressive and worth the trip, but the experience itself felt limited. Beyond the observation deck, there was not much in terms of interaction or engaging features, and it could easily be developed further to make it more memorable. Staff were polite and efficient, and the tower was well maintained, though the overall visit felt short. It was worth seeing once for the view, yet the tower itself could make more of its space and history to improve the experience.
Omer M — Google review
The Tallinn TV Tower is a very interesting and modern place to visit. The highlight is the edge walk — you can even take photos sitting on the edge, which is such a unique experience! Our guide Annika made the tour really fun with her great explanations about Tallinn. Definitely worth it!
Andej B — Google review
The Tallinn TV Tower is an absolute must-visit! The views from the top are breathtaking – you can see the whole city, the coastline, and even far into the distance on a clear day. The exhibition is very well designed and gives you a fascinating insight into Estonia’s history and the tower’s role. The glass floor sections add a fun thrill, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A perfect mix of culture, history, and adventure – highly recommended!
Stefan M — Google review
Got a combined family ticket for botanical gardens and tv tower - 39 euro. Not expensive and nice way to spend a relaxed afternoon
Rob — Google review
The price was decent for the attraction. Staff were friendly. There are different attractions at the tower but still found the tower uneventful. However, the views from the tower are spectacular. So much green everywhere. Really highlights the beauty of Tallinn.

St Olaf's Church, a Baptist church in Tallinn, was built in the 14th century and features a 124-meter tower that has survived multiple lightning strikes. The church offers a narrow observation platform at the top of the tower, providing breathtaking views of Tallinn's Old Town and the Gulf of Finland.
Grand looking church from the outside, trip up the Tower is recommended but stairs are steep and spirally, bit dodgy if passing people too. View from the top is worth the effort . There is a €5 to €8 charge depending on age to climb the Tower though the church is free.
Peter M — Google review
If you want a great view of the cit, pay the 8 € fee and climb the stairs. It is a narrow, winding staircase that takes you up about 250 steps to get a view of the city from about 60 meters above street level. The same staircase is used for going up and down so sometime you have to step aside to allow people to squeeze past you.
Gard K — Google review
Great view of the Tallin city. 360degree Free entrance to the church Tower ticket 8 euro In the 1500s, (if i am not wrong)It used to be the tallest building in the world, ship use the church as a preference guide. Therefore, the thunder hit the church quite some times. It was burn and rebuild several times. Very worth of climbing up for a good view of the harbor and the city itself.
Tommy L — Google review
Impressive church inside but it's all about the view from the tower for me! It's a narrow staircase to the top, I didn't have to pass anyone but I'd imagine it's awkward, there are a couple of seats half way up should you need a rest, but the view is very much worth the trek upwards
Keri B — Google review
I visited St. Olaf's Church during a day of sightseeing in Tallinn. I paid 8 Euros for admission to the tower. It's quite a hike, and to be completely honest, I found the top a little scary (it's quite safe though) in the moment. You can buy a ticket there, and the church can process card payments for the tickets, but if you want something from the giftshop, you'll need cash. Beautiful views!
Bryan S — Google review
The entrance for the St. Olaf’s Church is free unless you want to climb to the tower which is supposed to provide you with an amazing view of the city. We preferred not to climb to the tower of St. Olaf’s church due to it’s stairs and due to the fact that St. Nicholas church has an elevator going up to its tower which is really close to St. Olaf’s. The interior of the church has a gothic style and the walls are mostly empty. The most striking thing about the church is how high it is.
Ece H — Google review
A tough climb but so worth it. The stuff (in the ticket booth) was so kind and friendly. The 270 stairs are medieval and as such very hard to climb, even though there is a resting place half way with 4 chairs. But if you have enough will power, it won’t be a problem. Up stairs, it’s not for the faint of heart as the platform is narrow, high up and very “solid”. It’s probably the best view of the city, and I’ve climbed most of the towers there!
Elon S — Google review
Everybody has her or his favourite attraction in the old town of Tallinn. For me, it's St. Olav's Church. The church itself isn't maybe the most beautiful church in Tallinn, but what makes it special, is the possibility to climb up to the tower where there is an observation deck. You can see there all around old and modern Tallinn. The entrance to the tower is 8 euro and it's a heavy trip to clamber to the observation deck but absolutely worth of it, especially if you don't get a heart attack by climbing there up.

Restaurant Manna La Roosa is a unique cocktail bar and restaurant located in an old wooden house near the Viru Gates. The building, dating back to 1872, has a fascinating history, having served as a Russian Market and later as a pharmacy run by a Sicilian lady selling natural remedies. The bar is named after her. The interior is an eclectic mix of Russian orthodox iconography, street art, anarchist posters, fake flowers, Indian wall hangings, and vintage glamour photos.
Fantastic venue. Very good atmosphere and decorated to perfection. We went very early as we have small children. (1730). We had some drinks a starter and main. The food was very good, definately recommend. Greetings from the Netherlands
Harry B — Google review
We were there on Friday. The food and cocktails were good, but there were no entrance checks, and the lack of security seemed odd for such a venue. Later that night, people started entering with plastic bottles of drinks. The decor was magnificent, and you were confused about which way to look.
Buse T — Google review
Such an amazing concept and location! Super stylish interior, down to the last detail. Very cool mix of lounge, restaurant and cocktail bar, fancy but nothing extreme. Food and cocktails are amazing and the price is really fair for such a nice place. Service was more than excellent, from the host who's seating you, to the service staff who was so friendly and made you feel welcome. Would probably recommend making a reservation beforehand (especially for groups).
Sarah K — Google review
Very cool interior and atmosphere! Great service. Food is good, but nothing mind-blowing.
Mark V — Google review
A fabulous restaurant with great food, amazing cocktails, friendly staff, and a good music selection playing. We had the Tenderloin Steak, and the accompanying cherry sauce was a unique twist we had never experienced before and was lovely. It is an absolutely beautiful place inside and out. If we ever return to Tallinn, we will be sure to return here again.
Chris T — Google review
Came for a 7pm dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant is very large but only 5-6 other tables were occupied so it felt a bit odd. We were seated at a high table right at the back on the side which wasn’t too fun. The restaurant was completely out of beer which was unfortunate as that was what we felt like. Service was ok - found it hard to get the attention of our waitress even though there were many staff working. Most seemed only interested in making cocktails or just standing around. Would not go back sorry.
Craig F — Google review
Excellent place to drink or eat! The staff has been absolutely great, the location is easy to reach and see and the interior is a real work of art, period! Food quality is very nice, good quantity, pricing is reasonable and in line with the area - maybe a little less than the overcrowded touristic places around! Definitely, definitely, definitely worth a visit!

Specialty Museums
Nestled in the scenic Rocca al Mare area of Tallinn, the Estonian Open Air Museum is a captivating destination that transports visitors back in time to experience Estonia's rich rural heritage. Spanning an impressive 72 hectares, this immersive museum showcases a stunning array of authentic buildings from the 18th to 20th centuries, including charming farmhouses, windmills, and village schools.
I would gladly give the place 6 stars. There is plenty to see and try out. It's set in a forest, so a pleasant walk in between buildings. There is a cafe with good food at a reasonable price. And as with most open-air museums, it's the volunteers and special events that bring the place to life. We saw a group of dancers dancing various traditional dances and they also got quite a few of us dancing along at the end. The volunteers in the rooms were enthusiastic, the old lady teaching us how to use stilts was especially enthusiastic.
Feldgasse F — Google review
An excellent place to visit. The old buildings are well preserved. It spread across a huge area so be ready to walk and be ready to spend a lot of time. It's little far away from the old city and downtown. Bus connectivity could be availed on weekdays. But during weekends it's better to book a cab since public transport runs on a reduced interval. There is a nice cafe in the middle of the museum. Serves delicious cake and coffee
Dheeraj J — Google review
This is a good 7km walk amongst the forest filled with original Estonian buildings from the 1800s, inc some windmills, farms, fisherman cottages & more… Definitely worth a visit! They also had an original Soviet building complex set up to show the changes through the years, which was very interesting.
Nick S — Google review
A really good and quite large open air museum, showcasing Estonian rural buildings from all corners of the country. Definitely worth visiting! In october many of the buildings were closed (maybe 1/3 were open), so you could only see them from the outside - still managed to spend over three hours here. So take your time and enjoy - beside the houses, the whole area is nice. There are animals grazing etc. And the historical cafe/restaurant is really lovely - it is a roadside tavern from 19th century! Takes about 30 minutes to come with the public bus from city centre.
Henri ( — Google review
1 | A beautiful open-air museum located right by the sea. The area is fairly large and contains rural buildings from the 18th to 20th centuries, brought here from different parts of Estonia. As a visitor, you get a very good idea of how people of various professions used to live, cook, and work. It’s a great weekend destination for families with children. 2 | The open-air museum includes rural houses, animal enclosures, windmills, a café, a souvenir shop, and other buildings. I especially liked the playground — Estonians are really good at shaping public spaces and working with wood. 3 | The summer season runs from April 23 to September 28, and the winter season from September 29 to April 22. A regular ticket in the summer season costs €18, and in the winter season €14. A family ticket costs €38 in summer and €30 in winter. For an additional fee, you can ride a horse or rent a cart or a bicycle. 4 | If you plan to visit the museum outside the main season, I recommend checking in advance which buildings are open. Some of them may be closed. 5 | There is a parking lot right in front of the museum (free for visitors), or you can arrive by bus. The journey from the city center takes about 30 minutes. 6 | The museum is very well maintained. All buildings are restored and accompanied by information boards. We explored the museum quite thoroughly and spent about an hour and a half there.

Great place to wander around, giving a great insight of how people in Estonia lived in the past. The little tavern served delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and other delicacies.
Ton D — Google review
Enjoyable location for the family. My kids (8,5,1) really enjoyed themselves. Cost €28 to enter during the winter. Some things were locked, but we still had plenty to explore. I would imagine this being a brilliant place to visit when there is snow!
Ryan J — Google review
The Estonian Open Air Museum offers a remarkably comprehensive overview of rural life across different historical periods, and the kolkhoz complex constitutes one of its most intellectually stimulating sections. Far from being limited to architectural reconstruction, this part of the museum provides a nuanced interpretation of the Soviet-era collective farming system and its social implications. The exhibits successfully illustrate the tension between collectivist ideals and the realities of everyday rural existence, highlighting the profound transformations that shaped Estonian society in the mid-20th century. The museum as a whole is vast and diverse, but the kolkhoz area stands out for the depth of its historical narration and the subtlety of its museographic design.

KUMU, the Estonian Art Museum, is a renowned 7-story museum that opened in 2006 and features an extensive collection spanning two centuries of Estonian art. It is part of the Art Museum of Estonia's five branches and boasts a wide range of exhibits showcasing Estonia's rich history and culture. As the largest museum in the Baltics with comprehensive collections in Northern Europe, KUMU has quickly become a must-visit for art and culture enthusiasts.
Great museum showcasing Estonian art throughout the centuries. Also very impressive building with beautiful interior and exterior architecture. Definitely recommended for art fans and for those who would want to get a glimpse at Estonias finest.

Superb galleries with so much beautiful art. We could have stayed much longer. This place has an incredible collection and very well presented - we learnt a lot about Estonia from the descriptions too.
Eleanor S — Google review
Must visit if you are in Tallinn and enjoy art. The building is amazing and the collection is very comprehensive. A great way to understand Estonian history through the different artistic eras.
Spyros B — Google review
The Estonian Art Museum is located in an extremely interesting building in the middle of a beautiful park. Its art exhibition is split among 3 levels with level 5 currently being in renovations. Level 3 hosts incredible and stunning art pieces including the heads of multiple known people and their voice in a choir. Level 4 also hosted nice paintings however the last part of the exhibition was utterly horrifying. It included absolutely disgraceful, disgusting and unsettling displays of humans running around naked. As well as other terrifying displays which make you feel sick (black liquid coming out of a mouth of a human etc). It was gore and uncomfortable for a normal human being. I been to many modern art displays before and nothing ever compared to what I have seen there. I do not recommend bring children to the last part as it will leave them with scars for life.
Piotr R — Google review
It is big, beautiful. The art from old times is especially beautiful. You can put Your stuff/backbag in the free compartment boxes and then have free hands to enjoy art.

Telliskivi Creative City is a vibrant hub in Estonia, housed in a former factory complex near Tallinn's Baltic train station. It boasts around 250 businesses, including studios, galleries, theaters, cafes, bars and cultural event spaces. The site features an outdoor art gallery with changing exhibits every two months and striking mural art throughout. Renovated industrial areas nearby offer diverse dining options from Estonian to international cuisine and craft beer bars.
This was one of my favorite areas to visit on our Baltic Sea Cruise. It's about a 25 minute walk from the bus drop off area in Tallinn. Lots of beautiful art to see and take pictures with. There was a huge market area, like Estonian Whole Foods with all the fresh fruits and vegetables and all the healthy products. Also an indoor marketplace with all sorts of artisan products from driftwood stuff to soaps and clothing and home products. Lots of restaurants and bars too. Also a game/card store.

We enjoyed a few hours strolling through the Creative District with up eat sounds of music from venues, cafes, eateries, and exhibits. The street art including wall murals and 3D displays show the works of many native and local artists. The Photograpy Museum offers a great museum with relaxing coffee shop, gift shops with ingenious photo gifts. The central area offers an outdoor free exhibit of framed modern works. We enjoyed a wine and end-of-day 50% off sale on some gluten free options, including a chocolate gluten free cake. Enjoy strolling, snacking. and appreciating art. Accessible venue.

Pudel is a craft beer bar located in the vibrant Telliskivi Loomelinnak Creative City, a former factory complex turned into a hub of entertainment. The bar offers a wide selection of craft beers, with ten ales on tap and over 200 rare bottles from around the world. Visitors can enjoy sitting on the terrace and sampling from the dozen rotating draft choices, which showcase brewers from Northern Europe such as Mikkeller and BrewDog.
Nice bar with many different type of beer from many countries in the world. The bar has a wonderful atmosphere and vibe, plus the posters were so cool in retro style.

pudel – estonia’s first craft beer bar a one-of-a-kind experience unlike anything else in tallinn or estonia since 2013, pudel has served some of the finest craft beers from around the world - many of them unique and appearing in estonia for the very first time🤩☝️ small-batch brews from world-renowned breweries stand alongside distinctive creations from local estonian brewers ‼️the bar also offers estonia’s first (and only) cask ale it’s more than just beer - it’s great vibes, music, quiz nights, sports screenings and a welcoming atmosphere✨ you are free to bring your own food and most importantly - it is dog friendly too!🐶

Nice pub situated at the hip area called Teleskivi, inside an old industrial warehouse with high ceilings. Plants are placed here and there with the glow of the odd red neon light giving this place a warm feel to help relax and prepare you for some nice beers and social conversation. They have a vast collection of drinks to choose from too. However I'm not a beer snob, so I usually go for the main house beer on tap and if it proves pleasing I'll stick to it. This time it was called Anderson's and it went down well. I will need to return some day to get a regular view as there was an important football tournament on tv this time (Euros on the big screen!). But on this occasion it was a nice place to spend an hour or two.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an impressive orthodox landmark located on Toompea Hill in Tallinn, Estonia. Built at the end of the 19th century in a flamboyant Russian style, it was funded by public donations. Despite past controversy due to its association with Russian occupation, the cathedral has been restored and holds a special place in the hearts of the city's residents since Estonia regained independence in 1991.
This building is a stunning example of Russian architecture in Estonia. It stands out against the skyline. The insides are nicely decorated, though not as elaborately as the exterior. It is free to visit. There is a well stocked religious shop inside the building. There are some cobbles in the area, but on the whole, the cathederal is accessible to people who use a wheelchair. Ramps are used to aid with access.

Absolutely stunning building! You can see it from most places in old town, but it's lovely to go inside too. They don't let you take photos inside though just a heads up, but it's still worth visiting.

This cathedral is beautiful to look at from the outside. You can also get a very nice view from the Kiek in de Kök museum. The cathedral is of typical Russian style. Entrance is free.

The beautiful cathedral is certainly worth a visit. Its exterior is quite lovely, and entry is complimentary. While the interior may not be grand or expansive, it is still worth taking a moment to appreciate.

This church stands amid centuries of various leaders wanted to tear it down. The most recent was 29th century when the government did not have the money to do do. The church has several candle stations to various saints. Beautiful design.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is one of Tallinn’s most striking landmarks and a true masterpiece of Russian Revival architecture. The ornate domes, detailed mosaics, and peaceful interior make it a breathtaking stop while exploring Toompea Hill. Even if you’re not religious, it’s worth visiting for the history, craftsmanship, and quiet sense of reverence inside. A must-see for anyone visiting Tallinn’s Old Town!

III Draakon, a medieval theme bar located in the historic Town Hall of Tallinn, offers an elaborate theatrical experience. The dark candlelit stone wall cellar is staffed by waitresses in medieval costume who serve tankards of ale and traditional Estonian schnapps along with elk soup, pies, and jerky. Guests can even fish for pickled gherkins from a large barrel.
That was amazing experience. Counter is a humorous and interested woman. Order is wonderful tour if you don’t know which you want to eat, and even when you chose your food already, getting pickle is totally adventure for me.
Haruca P — Google review
I give 5 stars for the atmosphere and the team members there are in the character of a middle age tavern. I tried the cabbage pastry, it's amazing, some other customers loved the elk soup, but I found it a bit salty, overall still 5 stars for the experience. If you are not too keen on the food, I guess you can just order a beer to soak in the atmosphere.
C — Google review
Tucked away in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town, III Draagon is a truly unique dining experience that takes you back to the Middle Ages. The moment you step inside, you’re transported into a medieval tavern — dimly lit rooms, rustic wooden tables, and servers dressed in authentic medieval costumes. The atmosphere feels both cozy and mysterious, as if you’ve stepped into a different century. The restaurant offers a small but memorable menu. One of the highlights is their bone soup, a rich and flavorful broth filled with lentils, carrots, and pieces of bone marrow. It’s not only delicious but also fun to eat — or rather, drink — since it’s served in a clay bowl without a spoon, so you sip it directly, just like in the old days. The portion is generous, and for just 5 euros, it’s an excellent value. To accompany your meal, you can enjoy a pint of beer for 7 euros, along with freshly baked bread. There are two cozy rooms inside, each with 4–5 tables, and four outdoor tables that can seat around 20 people. The ambiance is peaceful, especially in the evening when the lights are low. The tavern also provides separate restrooms for men and women; they’re free for guests, but there’s a small fee (€1) for outsiders. Payments can be made in cash or by card. Overall, III Draagon is a must-visit for tourists seeking an authentic and entertaining medieval experience in Tallinn. It’s not just a meal — it’s a journey through time.
Anton N — Google review
The restaurant is small, decorated in a nice medieval style, in the main square of the town. You must know that entering the restaurant you are going to roleplay a tiny bit of medieval life, being in a tavern after a long trip on your horse. The lady plays a very good role, speaks perfect english, and feels like she is a maid of another era, kudos to her. The ox rib is amazing: soft meat on a big bone. If you love meat, take that and it will be enough as a meal. The ambiet is really nice: dim lights with real candles. You can even catch your own pickle from a barrel by stabbing it with a wooden stick, pretty fun! Whoever does not understand the roleplay should not post bad reviews. The waitress is not rude, she is playing a role, and very fun to talk with if you roleplay back! The medieval style is all around the city, many other vendors dress like old fashion times.
Valerio C — Google review
Amazing, authentic place – right in the heart of the old town! Everything is arranged in such an original way – the dishes, the waitresses, everything! The food is delicious, and you eat without any cutlery! You even have to bring your dishes back yourself. A really fun part – you get to fish out your own pickled cucumber from a barrel! In short, 10 out of 10 for the experience!
Aurelija A — Google review
We visited III Draakon while exploring Tallinn’s Old Town and it honestly felt like stepping back in time. The little tavern is cosy and atmospheric with flickering candles, wooden mugs and staff dressed in medieval style. We ordered the famous elk soup which was hearty and full of flavour, just perfect for a cool day. We also tried the Ox sausages and the Ox rib steak and both were delicious. Since I do not eat pork I asked about the ingredients and the staff kindly checked everything for me to make sure it was suitable. Their attentiveness really made me feel welcome. Overall it was a memorable stop with authentic Estonian flavours at a very reasonable price. I would recommend III Draakon to anyone visiting Tallinn who wants to try something traditional in a unique setting.
Sonia S — Google review
Paid €20 for a small bowl of pickled veggies and minced meat that had clearly been pre-packed and just squeezed into the bowl after ordering. I'm definitely paying for the medieval vibes here rather than the food itself 🤣
Mingchen L — Google review
Location: convenient location right inside the town hall, in the old town of Tallinn. Inside the medical decor is very detailed and lets the eye go around and get lost in time. I personally appreciated details such as the pickles being in a big barrel as part of the scenery. Menu: slightly confusing menu when ordering (maybe due to the lack of English everywhere). You order at the counter and the staff is very happy to suggest. We had the wild boar with cabbage, pig tail (very recommended), the deer pie and the dark beer. Service: the staff at the counter was very in character, making you feel you stepped into a medieval age tavern. For the complete experience, remember to ask for a coke. Other than that there is not really a service and you have to bring your own food to the table and bring back the cutlery at the end (but this is part of the experience) Cost: the boat with cabbage was a bit pricey considered the portion provided, the rest we felt was correctly priced considering the location and the experience overall.

Beer House is a renowned brewpub in Tallinn, Estonia that has been crafting its own unique non-filtered and unpasteurized beers since 2002. The establishment uses high-quality raw materials to create their seven distinct beers, with Austrian malt and German yeast and hops. The interior of the pub resembles an Austrian bierkeller, featuring long wooden tables and large beer glasses. Despite the tourist-heavy atmosphere, the beer is highly praised, especially the Medovar Honey amber ale.
The decor makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with an interesting display of stuffed animals at the entrance. There was no host, so we just chose a table and the waitress brought us menus. We ordered the herring and egg sandwich, the salmon plate, and the ribs — the salmon and ribs were my favorites. The hamburger was huge. Overall, everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

After a long day of driving, we ended up here for a beer and some dinner. The atmosphere is great, and I love all the eclectic items on the wall and placed around the room. Especially love the animals carrying beer in a old wagon when you went to the front door. The service was slow and a little cold, but not horrible. The food was pretty good and I highly recommend you try their darker beer.

Hell Hunt, also known as The Gentle Wolf, is a popular pub in Tallinn that offers a quiet escape from the typical tourist spots. Established in 1993, it claims to be the first Estonian pub and boasts an extensive selection of over 60 beers at reasonable prices. The ambiance is described as open and comfortable with a tough sense of style that attracts both locals and knowledgeable tourists.
A visit to Hell Hunt never disappoints. There’s something about the atmosphere—relaxed, unpretentious, and genuine. Now that the outdoor seating is open, the experience gets even better. Whether you drop by alone, with friends, or as a wandering tourist in the Old Town, you’re met with a smile and attentive service that doesn’t miss a beat. The food delivers, the beer is cold, and the staff strikes that perfect balance between efficiency and friendliness. Hell Hunt is simply a safe bet—every single time.

Nice place with a great atmosphere. They have their own beers on tap and they were great. I had a couple lagars and my wife had a couple IPAs. Both were exceptional. We just had snacks... so we didn't have the full menu experience... but the garlic sticks and the pork dumplings were both great! The service was was quick and friendly. We really enjoyed this place. You should give it a try.

The oldest Pub in Tallinn - since 1993. Not the cosiest atmosphere, many tables in basically one big room, without any nooks and crannies. Food is ok for a regular Pub - the portions are on the small side, but quality and taste are good. The house beer, on the other hand, is quite remarkable. I had the dark type, which could be compared to Guinness - although I find it a bit more tasty.

Visited Hell Hunt in Tallinn and was very impressed. The service was outstanding – it took only a few seconds after my beer was empty before I was asked if I wanted a refill. The staff were friendly, attentive, and created a very welcoming atmosphere. Prices were reasonable, especially considering the great selection of both drinks and food. The menu offered something for everyone, and the quality was excellent. Highly recommended for a relaxed evening with good food, great drinks, and top-notch service.

Old school but fun beer bar that's well worth a look. Good house beers complimented by three taps from local craft breweries and a substantial bottle list. Feels like more of a winter place, as it's got a dark German beer hall sort of vibe!

Posa B — Google review
Can't really say much about food as we didn't have any dishes - but the atmosphere and flair within the bar was pretty inviting. Their beer is good, but nothing to write home about and the service is professional, though nothing overly spectacular. It is housed in an industrial-looking warehouse with graffiti-ed exterior and moody lighting, adding to its unique charm. Food was excellent! We were 6 and everybody was happy with one's orders. Music was a bit too laud for an old ear, but that's how it is. The young were happy. The building was a beautiful old industrial hall. But then for the best thing. Our waiter was first class! What speed and devotion. Beautiful work!

A cool place with a rustic atmosphere, plenty of seating area both inside and outside. The pizzas from their pizza menu were really tasty and when i asked to remove something from mine, they were open to customisation :).

Fantastic food spot in Tallinn. First of all, the staff and the place deserve alone 5 stars. The lady that welcomed us managed to find us a table for 2 even if they were pretty full and the guy serving us was really friendly and helpful. About the place, it has an incredible urban vibe. From what I read, it was an old factory that is now transformed in this place. Really great vibe and great music too. In the 15 minutes wait for our table, we ordered the mint mocktail that was surprisingly really tasty. The food choices are really interesting. Originally we wanted to take one portion of dumplings and one of loaded fried but then, looking at the pizza menu, we ordered also a beetroot, green onions and goat cheese pizza. Generally we don't really like beetroot, but the flavour here was subtle and enjoyable. The pizza choices in general were really unique and loaded with toppings, making it also a nice value for money. About the taste, it was all really nice, just everything slightly salty, but not too much to ruin the taste. F-Hoone is absolutely suggested for a dinner out and try their pizza, they're tasty and with interesting toppings.

Visit to F-Hoone, Telliskivi tn 60a, 10412 Tallinn. The place is located in the Telliskivi area, known for its art and creative atmosphere. We managed to get one of the few tables that wasn’t occupied or reserved. My choice was easy – Pizza Nduja with extra chili. My son chose the smashed burger with sweet potato fries. Both the pizza and the burger were good, and the service was fast and friendly. A small minus for the poorly cut pizza. What wasn’t good, however, was the toilet – the door needed a lock.

Housed within the historic Great Guild Hall, visitors can admire the blend of medieval and modern architecture as they explore engaging displays.
Must visit! Great museum, nice exhibition, absolutely lovely history, interactive will be interesting for kids, a large collection of weapons and money from different centuries.

Top floor is not great, kind of gimmicky, and has a bunch of relics and imitations of relics that are irrelevant to Estonian history or not related to the plaque they’re under. It tries to answer why Estonia didn’t become a monarchy, but then features a throne where you can take tourist pictures as a king and queen…? I will say however that there is one very worthwhile thing on the top floor and that is the video that auto plays in the first room. Very educational and well done. Underground exhibit is much better and feels like an entirely different museum. There’s also weird sound effects and music that start playing when you enter the restrooms. That being said, if you’re in Tallinn, it’s still worth visiting the museum.
Indie G — Google review
The Hansa exhibition was my main interest and I must say, the standard of curation was exceptionally good; both academic and with creative interactive games for children. The exhibition flowed well and my dream to be a little bit as good as for Rīga! Not as massive as Lübek, which is a permanent dedicated museum, but has to be said, a gem! Well done!!!
Aija P — Google review
Interesting, but much more a set of modern exhibits versus a visit to renovated historic building. Various exhibits have different stations and all have English explanations. You can also get an audio guide. There’s a little something for everyone, but I don’t think you need to see it all to enjoy the experience.
Cynthia C — Google review
I really loved the museum, it was definitely one of my highlights during my trip to Tallinn. It was a good decision to start with it to get an overview over the history of Tallinn (also since the City Museum was closed). The exhibition about the Old Hansa was phenomenal. I learnt so much about Estonian history and how it has been occupied for centuries. The exhibition was very informative and still humourous. Even better that the museum is in this historical building.

If you get the Tallin card, it's worth stopping by here. However, I wouldn't have paid for it separately. The exhibits were cool and the building itself is stunning, but there are many better more interactive museums in Tallin

Really interesting museum in a superbly restored historical building. Across multiple floors, many fine and unique artifacts are on display here, including findings from the Viking and pre-Christian ages, hidden treasures, and tombs of ancient Estonian wealthy and mighty people ,-) However, it's worth noting that for just a few days, it was possible to observe ancient artifacts confiscated in 2018 at the Russian-Estonian border. After restoration, they are now expected to return to Ukraine.

If you enjoy just watching people stroll by and enjoying a drink this is a fun place to visit. The drinks we had (2 different wines and 2 ciders) were of okay quality but nothing special. Price vs. quality isn't the best if that's what you're after.

Nice and cozy place with a cool “balcony”. Cocktails were good both alcoholic and non-alcoholic one. Waitress was nice and didn’t kick us out even when we ran out of cocktails. It was raining outside, so was even more enjoyable to be partially outside but safe from getting wet.

Tops is a trendy and friendly bar located in Tallinn's Kalamaja neighborhood, away from the touristy areas. The bar exudes a Soviet chic vibe with its retro 1980s decor, including vintage teacups and glasses. Customers can select music from a collection of vinyl LPs or enjoy live performances while sipping on unique drinks like the Kurgijook cucumber liquor.
Really nice and cozy place. Little bit empty in the afternoons but crowded during the evenings. They have many drink variations, especially beers on the tap. Recommend!

A cozy and enjoyable place to spend time – whether you're catching up with friends, relaxing with a book, or just taking a break. Warm atmosphere, inviting design, and a perfect spot to unwind.

Honestly the best bar in Tallinn. Prices are good and the staff is super duper nice. And the quality of the drinks. Unrivalled. Recommend to any local or tourist. Just don't cause trouble. The security might as well be the second coming of Chuck Norris. 11/10

Bar
Labor Baar, located in the trendy Telliskivi district of Tallinn, is a popular hangout for both locals and visitors. The bar's decor is inspired by a laboratory, with drinks served in test tubes and Erlenmeyer flasks. The extensive menu features science-themed shots and cocktails to suit all tastes. On weekends, the basement transforms into a lively club with free entry.
Amazing bar, decorated brilliantly and drinks menu is great and very affordable prices. Drinks and shots also presented in lab equipment which really tops it off. There is also a smoking room in the back. Have visited twice on my trip so far and when I'm back in Tallinn I'll also be back to Labor. Highly recommend!
Pollyanna E — Google review
We went for gin and tonics to this nice bar after dinner. The whole block around is full of bars and restaurants. Labor bar is decorated in a theme that matches its name. Drinks can also be purchased in test tubes. The bar itself is very nice and full of different places to sit, although the air conditioning is quite cool. The price level is reasonable. The service in the bar was quite slow, mainly due to the large number of people. Until next time.
Heikki K — Google review
All style, zero substance. The design and theming of the place is flawless - the art gorgeous, the lighting quite evocative. I loved the tables that light up when you touch them - a gimmick really, really done well. Sadly, the concept falls apart a bit at the drinks menu. Whilst the drinks still go with the theme, it's all the sort of things you think are great when you're twelve and not supposed to be drinking yet. Cheap spirits mixed with crappy sodas, to make what effectively amounts to rebranded long drinks. At least the drinks are cheap, but that doesn't necessarily make them better. I'm probably rating this lower than I would be if it didn't feel like there was a bunch of wasted potential for an actually cool cocktail bar here.
Jan S — Google review
What a great contrast to all of the other bars in Old Town Tallinn. Three of us went there for drinks, and nothing could prepare us for what hit us. Instead of ordinary drink choices, they have a special menu of drinks from weak to strong. Moreover, the drinks are served in test tube. One drink order consists of 10 test tubes. We ordered nitromethane and urine samples. I think both were vodka drinks with various juices. What a memorable time.
Jim M — Google review
This is more of a youth center where someone with a little more demand for drinks should stay away from. The decor is quite fun but unfortunately the place is not more than that. The drinks are served in plastic cups, are lukewarm and don't taste very good
Rasmus P — Google review
The design of the bar is very unique. The cocktail itself wasn't very special, but the tubes. There is a dancing area downstairs.
Andrew S — Google review
Yeah but of a weird one. The whole style and vibe is top notch really - they nailed it. It’s the drinks menu where they fell a bit short. Drinks didn’t really taste like much of a cocktail as they did like a mix of cheap juice with a hint of spirit. Can’t comment on the shots but they did look cool. I mean I’d say come for a drink or two as it’s relatively inexpensive but not worth staying for much longer

Cocktail bar
Nestled in the historic streets of Tallinn, Whisper Sister is a secret speakeasy cocktail bar that pays homage to the Prohibition-era underground bars run by women. Although not truly a secret now, it remains elusive to find. The bar offers an extensive menu featuring both classic and innovative cocktails, such as the intriguing Mushroom Mary made with black trumpet mushroom-infused Stolichnaya.
A solid speakeasy experience — stylish, atmospheric, and well-hidden in the best way. What really stood out was how hospitable the host was. After bringing us in, Riin gave us a quick walkthrough of the space, introducing the different rooms and giving us a feel for the place before we settled in. It made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming.
YORK Y — Google review
Visited in Sep 2025 As per my experience, Whisper Sister is undoubtedly the best cocktail bar in Tallinn/Estonia, maybe even in the Baltics. The entrance to the bar is via a door which has a phone number written on it (very small size near the door key hole). You have to call the number for someone to come out and open the door. Once inside you are led down to the fantastic speakeasy bar. There are multiple rooms in the bar where you can choose to sit in. Ordered 4 cocktails, and each one of them was absolutely fantastic. My favourite cocktail was the Kuro Dragon and I would strongly recommend trying this. Among the other drinks I ordered, the “Prayer to Mayahuel” was a nice easy cocktail, and the “Velvet Bond” was a fabulous sprit forward cocktail. Service was brilliant. I did not have a reservation but was able to get a bar counter seat immediately as I walked in. But I visited on a weekday where crowds might be low. Maybe it’s best to do a reservation. All in all, this bar is a must visit if you’re in Tallinn. 100% the best cocktail bar in Tallinn.
Avijeet S — Google review
If you’re into hidden little cocktail bars, you’ll love this spot. They make it a little tricky to enter and you must earn the experience. Once inside, the service is warm, inviting and elevated. I had the Velvet Bond and Foreplay. Both were delicious. It was a Sunday eve so it was mellow. I enjoyed this as it gave me a chance to chat with the bar staff and get their local recommendations. Worth the effort and the visit!

Whisper Sister is a real gem in Tallinn. The speakeasy vibe is spot-on, intimate, stylish, and full of character. The cocktails were very fancy, beautifully crafted, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is amazing, with just the right mix of mystery and comfort, making it feel like a special night out. Perfect place if you’re into creative drinks and a unique, hidden-bar experience.

Best place I've ever been to. Went there several days a row because the experience was something you get nowhere else.. in a good way obviously. What a great experience! Both staff were amazingly helpful, gave us suggestions on what to get based on the flavours we like. They really made us feel like we were in their home. Great selection of cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress also gave us a list of places she recommends us to visit. One again it shows how much the staff care for us to enjoy our visit to Tallinn. After here we we to one place she recommended, Rataskaevu 16. Again, we had the perfect night! Restaurant
Restoran Olde Hansa in Tallinn offers a unique dining experience that takes visitors back to the medieval era. The restaurant's ambiance is set with candlelit tables, tapestry-filled walls, and live traditional music played on instruments like loots. The menu features Baltic delicacies such as sauerkraut and game sausages made from bear, wild boar, and elk.
First of all - come hungry. No, seriously, skip lunch. And maybe even breakfast. We had the feast for 2 and those three courses were more than enough food - and my wife and I are hearty eaters. The quality of the food was excellent - and we can tell, because one of our hobbies is medieval role play and so we've had many expertly prepared feasts in the last 20 or so years. But be warned - they used different spices in medieval times and while many dishes may look familiar, the taste can be special. But for us, everything was just delicious. The service was great, too. It started by a servant washing our hands and every piece of the meal was later explained in great detail. You can also order as much of everything as you want, if you run out of something (which happens to us with the wonderful dark bread ...). The atmosphere is very cozy - the only light sources are candles on the tables. It can be tricky to read the menu (to decide which beer or wine to have), because the room is only very dimly lit. The whole experience is not cheap - feast for 2 people, with drinks and tip was 160 Euro. But it was worth every cent.
Axel T — Google review
Definitely a wonderful experience, but do not count on the food as a meal for the day especially if your from the Arab region. We ordered the deer dish to share just to be cautious and we never finished it! I recommend coming in just for the experience and maybe try something out of curiosity but don’t count on the food flavors too much. The bathrooms were absolutely terrible and overall I believe the place could be maintained better than its current status (unless its part of the intended atmosphere) The staff were the highlight of the experience, they are so into character with their gestures, language, and overall spirit. Would not come back again but would recommend visiting at least once.
Thyma E — Google review
Even though this looks like a textbook tourist trap, and the dishes are rather expensive, this was an overall good experience for me. The restaurant looks interesting, and the waiter was pleasent and quick. I ordered a meat tasting plate (as it was one of the rare cheaper options), and was surprised at how tasty it was. I really enjoyed it. The downside is that if you are very hungry and also short on money, this place is better to be avoided as the full course for lunch would cost a fortune.
Ji J — Google review
This is my dream restaurant. It's fully lit by candles and has a medieval theme. It's super spacious - 3 levels. Attention to detail is well appreciated. The bathrooms especially! At first I couldn't find the toilet paper and soap! 🤣 Yes it's slightly pricey but worth it in my opinion. Staff are incredible ! After all, this is a whole experience in itself. Best birthday feast ever.
Dorian R — Google review
This restaurant offers a delightful setting reminiscent of bygone eras, and the cuisine similarly reflects traditional practices. While the food may present a different flavor profile than what we, as Asians, are typically accustomed to, it is not necessarily a negative reflection, simply a distinct experience. The true highlights are undoubtedly the restaurant's ambiance and the staff, who are elegantly attired in traditional clothing.
Tony C — Google review
An unforgettable, immersive medieval dining experience! The moment you enter, the middle-age atmosphere is palpable and truly impressive. It's not just the decorations; the food taste also contributes significantly to the feeling. I highly recommend the tender deer fillet, the distinct honey beer, and the hearty dark bread. Although the cuisine isn't Michelin-level perfection, it absolutely nails the authenticity of the medieval theme. The service was phenomenal. Waiters and waitresses in traditional clothes were always helpful, patiently introducing the menu, and making personalized recommendations as if they were dining with you. P.S. A special shout-out to the unique design of the men's room—worth a peek! 🤣
Jorvik Z — Google review
We loved this restaurant! Fresh mushroom soup, fresh bread and Glögi (hot spiced wine) Delicious! The staff were outstanding, fun and personable. The period clothing and the medieval atmosphere were intriguing. Definitely stop in when you're are in Old Town Tallinn.
Postcards S — Google review
The main thing about this restaurant is the old world charm. They have created a great experience with retaining the decor, the food to follow and good service. However, since Tallin is mainly catering to tourists, this was the only place during our trip to Finland-Tallin, the server asked us for a tip. Food is overpriced for sure, but I suppose if you are looking to experience something different and eat some unique meat like deer and bear, this is the place to visit

Tallinn Town Hall is a Gothic building located in the center square of the medieval Old Town. It has a rich history dating back to the 13th century and offers concerts and tours for visitors. The area surrounding the town hall is filled with narrow streets and various historical landmarks, such as the Old Thomas weather vane atop the building since 1530.
Visited with hubby and teenage daughter. Spent longer in there than we thought we would. Found it interesting but we're history nerds. Others, probably nipped round quicker. Good view across old town square from top floor. Didn't climb the tower - too many stairs!
Paula S — Google review
The Tallinn town hall is your typical museum setup. Info about the old town since the 1300s. Not much to say about that. The tower was pretty cool though. Got to go up to the bell and see the city from there. Not sure if the €20 was worth it.
Chad C — Google review
A top stop! Lovely preserved old building with cool stuff and good descriptions in English. Plenty to see, it’s not just a reading experience. The floor just under the roof is super cool. If you’re up to it, climb the tower for a unique view. Note the climb is very steep, can be very crowded and may have a long.
Cynthia C — Google review
Most people only talk about the Tallinn Town Hall for its beautiful building, but there is so much more to it. Can you imagine that it has a museum inside? I didn’t know until I went there. I like the museum because it talks about a special street, the “Pikk Street”, in Danish this would translate to “dick street”. Good thing Estonia isn’t Danish anymore. But funnily enough this reminded me of all the Dicks Streets back in Luxembourg. A strangely comforting thought. There are many places to sit down in the museum, which is a criteria I always use to rate the visitability of a museum. Especially because I have a friend who loves to sit down. The more my friends can sit, the happier I am. We also found out about the Estonian fascination with weather vanes. They’re not just regular weather vanes, they are enormous. You can really not miss them on top of churches or in this case inside the museum. Now coming back to the start, people may admire the view of the building but from the museum you have a beautiful view onto the city. It really is a must visit.
Baptiste J — Google review
This old town feels like stepping straight into a fairy tale – except instead of a dragon, you’re most likely to bump into a tourist wielding a selfie stick. Narrow cobblestone streets twist between colorful medieval buildings, and no matter which way you go, the town hall finds a way to peek at you from somewhere – like it’s playing hide and seek, and always winning. The atmosphere takes care of itself. While you're sipping coffee or nibbling on a local pastry, a horse-drawn cart might gently roll by, and someone in medieval costume could pop around the corner. For the tourists? For fun? Or maybe just a lost time traveler. Who’s to say. Town hall itself is a Gothic masterpiece from the 14th century, and it still holds court with pride. If Tallinn does one thing exceptionally well, it's blending history with charm. And if you find yourself taking photos of the same tower from every imaginable angle… trust me, you’re not alone. This place does that to people.
Michael N — Google review
Tallinn Town Hall has its own museum inside dedicated to both the building’s past and the city’s. It was interesting to learn that there were writings about the Town Hall from 1200s. Entrance fee is 20 euros but free if you have a Tallinn city card.
Ece H — Google review
Tallinn Town Hall is a stunning landmark that perfectly captures the spirit of the Old Town. The Gothic architecture, intricate details, and panoramic views from the tower make it well worth a visit. Inside, the exhibits give a fascinating glimpse into Tallinn’s rich history and civic life. Whether you’re exploring the square below or climbing to the top for amazing city views, the Town Hall is a must-see stop for anyone visiting Tallinn!

Hotel Viru & KGB Museum, located in Tallinn, was one of the first foreign-owned hotels during the Soviet occupation. It is known for its association with the KGB, who allegedly wired every room to eavesdrop on guests. The museum showcases artifacts such as uniforms, cameras, and spy gear used by KGB agents during that time. Visitors can explore two rooms that have been preserved since the 70s and 80s, featuring bugging devices and officer uniforms.
Book a tour on the website or make a reservation with the front desk. Meet up in the lobby about ten minutes before your tour. You're going to take an elevator ride up to the top of the hotel to learn about it's unique history as a means for the KGB to spy on foreign visitors. It's an hour tour and a thorougly enjoyed it. About 20 people on the tour and the guide leaves ample time for you to take pictures of the rooms. Great conversation and great views of the city too!

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour from Mart, whose dry sense of humour, personal experience and bank of knowledge made it a good all-round experience. I considered it good value for money but be prepared to digest information at a fast pace as Mart speaks quite quickly! He answered all my questions in between stops, which I was very thankful for. A great way to spend an hour and learn more about a very interesting time in Estonia. Would recommend.
Louis B — Google review
Very interesting tour, a little on the expensive side, but I didn't mind paying for it. The tour guide is great, very knowledgable, you visit a couple of secret rooms on the floor that didn't exist and you also get to use both balconies facing in opposite directions to get a good view of the city. I don't think it said in the booking that the meeting place is the left side of the hotel lobby, there's a desk with the google map marker and the word "here"
Keri B — Google review
Our guide was excellent…. Very interesting and sincere. She shared her personal experiences in the Soviet Union in Tallinn, which made the experience much more meaningful. I wish that more of the hotel had been preserved for the tour.
Pam G — Google review
This was my second time visiting the museum for the guided tour and it was a really great experience. Our guide Pasha was really good at explaining and making it a fun and interesting tour with the use of dry wit and humour to make the stories come to life. You need to book your tour in advance and they get filled up fast since it's only for small groups so if you want to go make sure you book your tickets early! Keep in mind that the museum is only available with the tour at their specific times but it is really worth it even for Repeated visits!

Honestly speaking, I’ve expected to see a bit more artefacts and equipment, but the museum is basically only two rooms on the rooftop of Hotel Viru. However, our guide Rene is an absolute legend with a lot of insight and knowledge about the history of this place, and how the KGB operated back then. Him alone was worth the price of admission. Fun way to spend an hour in Tallinn.
Antun T — Google review
Very interesting tour of old KGB offices inside of a historic hotel. Pasha [Pavel], our guide, had a fantastic sense of dry humor. The museum is quite small, but it was an interesting tour. The views from Floor 22 are a highlight.

Interesting experience, though a bit pricey for a 1 hour tour. Totally low-tech - the value is in being in the actual KGB spaces, hearing the stories, seeing the artifacts and photos up close. Nestled in a quaint alley next to the Niguliste art museum in Tallinn's Old Town lies Põrgu, a unique pub that feels like a hidden gem. This cellar-like establishment boasts an impressive array of over 14 tap beers, making it the city’s top spot for beer enthusiasts.
Nice quality food with the great beer selection. We ate here dinner: starters, main and dessert. First we took cheese balls, garlic rye bread chips and plate with snacks. All were very good. Then we had duck with potatoes and it was also very good. Dessert portion was chokolate cake with almonds, and it was a perfect end for the meal. We also tasted a lot of different beers, which was one of the main reasons to come here. One minus thing here is that the place is very loud just because the floor and walls are stone and all bench movements and sounds are disteibuted to everywhere. Still recommendations from here!

I ate the chicken filet with mashed potatoes and broccoli, it was delicious ! The sauce had very mushrooms in it and the fillet was perfectly cooked. They have a huge menu for beers, so if you are a beer lover you won't be deceived. I personally took the witbir from the place itself and it was delicious. Price are on the average of Tallin and the food is above average 😊 The ambiance was great. Even for just a drink, I recommend this place.

This place has a really wide selection of beers, there is a number of pages dedicated to bottled beers and a number on tap as well. And it tastes good! Since it is in the town centre it is also quite touristy, especially in the in-out kind of way. The meals were delicious here and especially the garlic bread starter tasted good. The place itself has a unique vibe. The waitress was nice and actually recommended the starter to us.

Cafe Maiasmokk, a historic coffee house dating back to 1910, is a must-visit in Tallinn's Old Town. Its classic charm reminiscent of Vienna's coffee houses makes it an institution in the city. The cafe is famous for its hand-painted marzipan angels and adjoins a renowned chocolate shop that should not be missed.
Really liked the atmosphere and the vintage setting they have got going on. The menu was limited but there was a good selection of cakes. Service can get a little slow on rush hours or if there are a lot of tourists but otherwise it's calm and well maintained. Was good to see the history of the place still being respected. As far as the actual food goes, nothing really remarkable, but it was definitely delicious. Overall a visit worthy place

Visited Kohvik Maiasmokk, Tallinn's oldest café, established in 1864. The atmosphere is steeped in history, with a beautifully preserved interior that transports you back in time. The coffee, while a bit lighter than what I'm accustomed to, aligns with local preferences. It's smooth and pairs well with their selection of pastries. A unique feature is the Kalev Marzipan Museum Room, offering insights into the art of marzipan making and its history. A Sweet Slice of History in Tallinn I had the pleasure of visiting Café Maiasmokk during my trip to Tallinn, and it truly felt like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, with beautiful historic décor that makes you want to linger. I ordered a slice of cake, and it was simply delicious—light, fresh, and full of flavor. Great service and very welcoming atmosphere. We were a group of 7 people and our waitress Onnalise (not sure if it’s written correctly, sorry) did an amazing job! The snacks and the beef salad were delicious, pork tacos and seafood pasta were average, but overall we really enjoyed our evening, thanks!

Seemed to be really nice small cafeteria! I visited just to have something to take away and got some really tasty bruschettas. One with strawberries and brie cheese and another with mussels, shrimps and caviar. Would be nice to visit this place another time!

Bar
Located in the Old Town of Tallinn, Drink Bar & Grill is a popular spot among locals, expats, and tourists. It played a significant role in introducing craft ales to the area, offering an impressive selection of international small-scale brews alongside local Estonian representatives. With 100 bottles and 13 taps, patrons can enjoy a wide variety of draft and bottled beers from around the world as well as new offerings from local microbrewer Veldi & Daughters.
We came here three days ago, and this place was definitely worth a second visit before leaving Estonia. The atmosphere is very nice, but above all, the staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The food menu has a good variety of offerings, and the craft beer selection is the best we found in Old Town. The cocktails are also refreshing. The overall experience both times was delightful!
Douglas W — Google review
Drinks and service are not bad, but the food completely sucks. The soggy and cold fries are absolutely disgusting, the rest of the food is also 50/50. You can try it yourself, but apparently i had unlucky experience
Lauri-Emil L — Google review
Seen bad reviews about the food but cannot comment on these but good collection of quality beer and tvey taste fresh from the draft meaning they clean it often like a proper bar should do.

Nice and cosy UK style pub. The only place in Tallinn to get cask ciders. But they offer solid choice of local craft beers and make cocktails as well! Beside pub menue they offer daily meals as well with a reasonable price.
Janno I — Google review
Good selection of beers, friendly service and all around nice place. Extra points for the outdoor seating - granted, it only has three tables, but the surrounding is very nice and old-towney. Basic selection of snacks and foods, special mention to the rye bread snacks with garlic dip, absolutely heavenly.

The service was great, very nice ambiance and polite staff. I wanted to try craft beer and they had a variety of options and were keen on telling me which was which and what they had. Very cozy place.

Nestled in the vibrant Hipster district of Telliskivi Creative Centre, Fotografiska Tallinn is a captivating extension of Stockholm's esteemed photography museum. This cultural hotspot seamlessly blends art, gastronomy, and entertainment. Visitors can explore stunning photographic exhibitions while enjoying a Michelin Green star restaurant that champions sustainability with its zero-waste philosophy and fresh local ingredients. The venue also boasts versatile event spaces, including an expansive hall perfect for seminars or performances, alongside a cozy café and courtyard ideal for receptions.
I went here with a friend one wet afternoon to get out of the rain, and it was worth the visit! There were 3 different photographers on show, but I was mostly interested in Elliot Erwitt's images. I very much enjoyed seeing his work up close as it's a style of photography I myself am in to. It's definitely worth a visit while this photographer's shots are still on display here. :)

A very positive experience at Fotografiska Tallinn! Loved the exhibitions. Every moment was interesting, and the quality of the works was outstanding. It was great that the place wasn't crowded. I could really take my time and enjoy the art.

We enjoyed a break here for a glass of wine and Kate in the day 50% off pastry so I chose an apple tart. Yummy. Service excellent. This cafe is set in the base of the museum, a charming gift shop with prints by famous recording artists, art books, and more. The indoor seating is accessible and we choose accessible outdoor seating amid the vibe in the creative district with street murals, cafes, artists displays.

Been to the Stockholm Fotografiska years ago, and once i had the chance to see Tallinns - my expectations were high - and I was not disappointed. Nested in a beautiful reclaimed building, the exhibitions were spot on and how they were highlighted was world class. Also great modern eatery and cafe on the ground floor. Overall great experience!

When I was here there was only 2 of 3 exhibitions open so the price was reduced which was very nice! Small shop with a lot of books and other stuff.

Exhibition of Elliot Erwitt was excellent. They have 2 floors of exhibitions and ground floor have restaurant, shop and rest rooms. It’s about 15-20 minutes walk from old town but was worth it. The neighborhood is upcoming as many industrial buildings and warehouses are being converted into residential and restaurants.

Entry fee 17€ is very expensive. But the three exhibitions worth it. Als the cafe. Nice. Don’t miss to go depoot food trucks and the bazar next door.

Depeche Mode Baar, also known as DM Bar, is a unique establishment in Tallinn that pays homage to the English electronic band. It was originally opened by an Estonian Depeche Mode fan club and has since become a staple of the town's alternative bar scene. The bar features non-stop Depeche Mode music and serves an extensive selection of drinks. It has a spacious side room for those seeking a quieter atmosphere.
Great theme bar in Tallinn. All focused on Depeche Mode, and exeptionally on Depeche Mode. One rarely can experience something like that, so check it out!
Gerald S — Google review
Definitely don’t ask to hear any Def Leppard at this bar. You will see scorn like you’ve never seen scorn. Skip this place, unless you’re suicidal. This is a good last stop. At least you can go out with some drinks. I’m sure both of this band’s fans like this place and its music.
Tom T — Google review
This is a cool bar, especially if you're a fan of the music. It's a little pricey, a pint of lager was more than 7 euros, but you're paying for the experience. The gent behind the bar was really sound & you can tell he loves the band!
Tyler L — Google review
As a Depeche Mode fan, I had to visit this place. It was fairly empty at 10pm, the staff weren’t friendly and the vibe was flat. The drink selection was standard. I watched DM on a big screen while I drank my drink. No one socialised and it felt like a waiting room. It would be cool if they served DM themed drinks.
Scott — Google review
Great place to go if you are a Depeche Mode fan. Everything in this place oozes DM. Been here twice and love it.
Mathias B — Google review
Place has everything - great vibes, great staff, great music (obviously) and the crowd that's really chill to hang with. Made a whole bunch of friends through years in there and always glad to visit. Can highly recommend
Maxim E — Google review
Great place for Depeche mode fans. The reason I gave only four stars is because I asked politely for a song and they asked for money to fulfill my request. It is not like I asked for something impossible or to play Pet Shop Boys. There are many other delicate ways to handle these kind of situations, instead of asking for money. 😃
Jay B — Google review
Superb. It's absolutely a must for every DM fan. Don't be afraid to try the canned stuff in the fridge. The IPA was much nicer than the bog standard lager. Was kind of hoping for a decent cider selection so I could 'Enjoy the Ciders'.

Nestled in the lively city of Tallinn, the Sigmund Freud Bar offers a unique and captivating experience that stimulates both the intellect and the taste buds. This establishment is an intriguing addition to Tallinn's nightlife scene, blending psychological allure with delightful flavors. Inspired by Freudian concepts, the bar's main artwork features the silhouette of the famous neurologist, while its cocktail menu draws from psychoanalysis and showcases creative mixology.
Really nice place for an evening out. Loved the atmosphere - cozy but with a good energy. The menu is super fun and creative! Definitely try the lychee shots - they were a standout! Drinks are a bit on the pricier side, but honestly worth it for the experience. If you are in Tallinn and enjoy good cocktails, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
Krishnan S — Google review
Visited in Sep 2025 Sigmund Freud Bar is the most popular bar in Tallinn, as all online searches listed it as the best bar to visit in the city. It is a nice establishment with a decent cocktail menu. Few of the drinks have very nice gimmicks in terms of drink presentation. I enjoyed my time here but I do feel this place is a bit overhyped (personal perspective). Make no mistake, this is a nice bar, but it definitely wasn’t the best cocktail bar I visited in Tallinn. That would be Whisper Sister.
Avijeet S — Google review
Cool bar and I’d say substances matches the style. Bar staff were nice and attentive. If you’re into cocktails, this place will be for you as it certainly shines in that area. Bit more expensive than you’re regular but it’s an experience so why not go?

Club Hollywood is a popular and fashionable club located in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town. It's known for its lively atmosphere, crowded dance floor, and energetic vibe. The club is housed in an ancient Baroque building with a large central dance floor and raised platforms. On Wednesdays, entry is free for girls and drink prices are reduced, making it a great option for those looking to have fun without breaking the bank.
great place for relaxing with drinks and popular edm music, cool design, free entrance hour after opening 23 - 00

Staff should also be taught to speak politely. There should be more polite security personnel in such a place. He physically pushed me because I couldn't find the ticket I had just bought. The sales person at the next table preferred to just watch even though she knew I had bought a ticket from her a few seconds ago. Luckily, I found the ticket after 10-15 seconds. The inside is quite spacious. There are smoking rooms upstairs. The music was fine. (Saturday, around 1- 1.30am).
Hakan O — Google review
1. Gender equality is not respected. Only 10 men can enter at a time. 2. The sound system is terrible. I think the speakers are faulty.
Fatih B — Google review
A very nice night at Hollywood club. We enjoyed it. Good music and good mood. Unfortunately I had a very bad experience when, at 3am, I went to the wardrobe to say hello to a friend and the personnels (the ticket and security officers, both of them) didn’t permit me to come back, nonetheless I paid the entry (as well as severals expensive drinks) and having a good habits of corse. I preferred not to start a controversy, but the staff were rude due to their lack of willingness to listen to me. Reason why for the 3 stars instead of 5. That’s too bad.
Diego C — Google review
Very bad club, only Estonian songs, which are foreign to foreign visitors. The staff was very bad, when buying the ticket the price was not known at all, when buying the ticket the saleswomen just talked among themselves and did not pay attention to the buyer, I felt that they were trying to cheat me. I was cheated out of 50 cents when buying a drink, the cocktail cost 9€ but I was made to pay 9,50€. Entrance to the club was 20€ and it was not worth paying that money. There are pictures on the internet of interesting shots in test tubes that attracted attention, but it turns out there never were any. Fraud will not be a club, please do not choose to go there. This one star is actually 0 because everything there was bad and unacceptable.
Līva B — Google review
Very rude service!!! First, when entering the club, when you hand over a jacket, the cloakroom staff is not interested in accepting outerwear. Second, when you enter the club itself, there is no indication that you should pay for the entrance, and the staff sitting behind the counter spoke to other people in Estonian, which suggests that there is no staff, while when you walk past this staff, no one is interested in talking or addressing you, but a security guard is immediately called, who grabs your hand and reproaches you for not paying. When you approach these ladies, having realized that the visitors speak English among themselves, they continue to speak in Estonian, do not say PRICES and very quickly put the terminal down so that the visitor does not see the price! Third, the music they play is only Estonian music, not international music, therefore, there is nothing for foreigners to do here. I do not recommend visiting this institution, where people are cheated, the attitude of the staff is beyond criticism.
Nita S — Google review
I visited this place with my friends on Saturday. This place simply is terrible. I would never recommend this place for anybody. There was only 3 toilets in such a large nightclub witch has over 300 customer capability. Security was extremely rude to customers and the entrance fee was too high (12e) including not having permission to go outside take a break.

Fine night club with a good atmosphere! I went here on a Saturday night, without any special theme night. The music quality is good and the drinks are affordable. €6,- for a 40cl tap beer or an harkf an liter German white beer. No grumpy and unfriendly staff either, which is not always the case!

A decent nightclub with a good atmosphere. I went on a Saturday evening (no special theme night) and the music quality was fine. Drinks are reasonably priced – about €6 for a 40 cl draft beer or half a liter of German wheat beer. Staff were polite and not unfriendly, which makes the overall experience pleasant.

The dance floor was not big enough. The main issue was the party. I think I was in wrong party high possibility but the crowd old, almost everyone might be 40+. The music was very good, from selection of songs to remixing was perfect. Drink was expensive then all the usual clubs
Mihir P — Google review
As a person who clubs in NYC I would say this is certainly different. It is like “Throwback Thursday” on a never ending loop. If you are trying to find good club music here(techno/house/recent edm hits) it is not going to be it.The crowd is a quite pushy and rude, not your typical vibing crowd. If you are fall down drunk you will probably have a decent time listing to some throwbacks. We went on a Friday night for this show, Sky Plus After Party with DJ Andi Raig and DJ Bad J…not on throwback night.
Rachael S — Google review
Night club with paid entry. The DJ doesn't care about the visitors. There are 80 people in the club and only two on the dance floor because the music is terrible ? Not a problem for him, he continues with what only he likes, despite multiple demands to change the music. Place to be avoided.
Bmxerv — Google review
terrible nightclub. We went in with 6 people, also paid for 6 tickets. The gentleman thought he counted 7 people, so the last one had to pay double. Tried to explain that we are with 6, but he was incredibly rude and contemptuous. did not want to listen to us. Paid one ticket too much and terrible staff. Not recommended!

A nice and cozy little pub in Telliskivi area with Põhjala beer selection. My visit was just before Christmas time so the weather was quite cold and rainy, but during the summer time there is a really nice terrace, (which was also open in December) which might be the best place to spend time with local beer. The location was quite hard to find when it was dark outside, because it wasn't so well marked, but in daytime it was clearly visible.

This place is phenomenal and I highly recommend it to all who visit Tallinn! Their blini / pancakes are large and delicious, and their ciders are also really good. I ordered the blini with cold smoked salmon and cheese and loved every bite. I would definitely return to this restaurant many times!

Pancake was flavorful, soups were nice as well. We arrived at 16:45 and waited about 5m to get a table. After that hour, it's pretty crowded with a long line. Price of pancake is just ~7euro, it's huge, enough for two.
Trần T — Google review
A legendary pancake place where there’s almost always a queue. We waited about 10 minutes to get in (visited at 8:30 PM, they close at 10 PM). We ordered: smoked salmon pancake perfect, my personal favorite; chicken in cream sauce pancake not for everyone, a bit dry for my taste; ham with cheese sauce pancake; beef with pickles pancake - delicious if you like pulled boiled meat; sweet pancake with strawberries and ice cream top choice, tender and well-balanced; sweet pancake with cherries and vanilla sauce - a bit unusual because of the coconut flakes (I’d skip them), but my friends loved it. Portions are huge and generously filled — one pancake can easily be shared by two. The staff speaks multiple languages, and Milan was friendly and attentive.

We came to Tallinn on a whim for the Midsummer weekend, and unbeknownst to us it was also graduation week. Even though it was a busy Friday night, the hostess at Pegasus took us as a walk-in and sat us immediately. The patio is right on a lively main walking street and made for great dog-watching :) Our server, Artur, was a friendly young gentleman — knowledgeable about the menu and able to make a few great recommendations. He worked the room like a pro and we were quite impressed when he mentioned it was his first week at the restaurant. The food was superb. We had a bunch of appetizers, the whipped feta and tartare were real standouts. All the flavors were so well thought out, completely balanced — nothing out of place. The basque cheesecake had a delicious pistachio sorbet with lots of seeds for a little crunch, as well as a tart cherry compote and espresso foam. Again, so well thought out. A perfect dessert. Overall, our visit to Pegasus was 10/10 and we will definitely be back!

Amazing food and drinks in Tallinn - no trip to this city is complete without making a trip here! Interesting and considered menu, and as a vegetarian there were great choices. Plant forward and flavourful dishes. And the team are super friendly and kind!

We were very pleased with this place. I'd especially like to mention and thank our waitress, Josefiine, who made our evening wonderful. She was very sweet and attentive. Despite being busy, she gave us the attention we deserved. Overall, I can recommend this place, even though the dish I ordered (tartare) wasn't the best. The design and atmosphere in the restaurant are very warm and perfect for warm gatherings.

Viru Gate, dating back to the 13th century, is a significant entry point to Tallinn's Old Town. The gate consists of two large watchtowers covered in ivy and serves as a major sightseeing attraction in the city. Originally part of a defense system, it once guarded the bustling market square beyond. The gate leads down to the city center from the castle and offers incredible views from the top.
I loved everything about that place. I lost my card and I found it untouched. I felt safe... I don't know if it actually is but I did. Beautiful and calming energy. I walked around at night so not lots of people either. Magical. I'm in love
Miyurin — Google review
There truly are a lot of gates in old town and out of all of them this is the best one. There are also some nice flower shops right outside the gate. I also suggest going to the park next to the gate like an upper level of the gate viewing area for some better photos and less crowds. It’s rare that the better photo spot also has less people

(Translated by Google) A beautiful medieval well-preserved place! You don't need a ticket to enter Tallinn Old Town or to explore the city gates. The two towers are a fairytale entrance with some flower shops at the local market which are great for taking pictures and you can also buy souvenirs there! Basically, it is very photogenic and many people look at it every day. Great to stop by and explore, highly recommend!

The Viru Gate in Tallinn is a captivating entry point to the city's charming Old Town. The well-preserved medieval gates offers one a glimpse into Tallinn's rich history and serve as a picturesque backdrop for exploring the cobblestone streets and historic landmarks beyond. Whether admiring them from afar or passing through to explore the Old Town, the Viru Gate is a must-visit destination you can’t miss when in Talinn

Nestled at the entrance of Tallinn’s enchanting Old Town, Viru Gate (Viru värav in Estonian) is a striking portal that ushers you into a world where medieval charm meets vibrant modernity. This iconic structure, often the starting point for exploring Tallinn’s historic heart, promises more than meets the eye for those who take the time to delve beyond its impressive facade. Historical Background Built in the 14th century as part of Tallinn’s formidable city defenses, Viru Gate originally featured a more extensive structure, including walls and additional towers, which were part of the city’s protective system. Over time, much of these fortifications were dismantled as the city expanded, leaving the gate as a historical remnant. The two round towers that stand today are remnants of what was once a more complex entrance to the city, serving as a reminder of Tallinn’s medieval past. Unique Features and Hidden Gems 1. Medieval Tower Secrets The gate’s twin towers are more than just picturesque landmarks; they house narrow, winding staircases that are often overlooked. While not always open to the public, during special events or guided tours, you might get a chance to explore these hidden stairs. If accessible, they offer a fascinating glimpse into the architectural ingenuity of medieval Tallinn and provide a unique vantage point for viewing the surrounding area. 2. Floral Market At the base of Viru Gate, you’ll find a bustling flower market that brings a burst of color and life to the stone structure. This market is not just a delightful photo opportunity but also a testament to the gate’s role as a gateway to everyday local life. The flowers here are fresh and vibrant, often changing with the seasons, and browsing the stalls offers an intimate experience of Tallinn’s local charm. 3. The Secret Passageways Just beyond Viru Gate, tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the Old Town, are several less-trafficked alleys and courtyards. These passageways, some of which are remnants of old defensive routes, offer a quieter, more intimate exploration of the city’s medieval architecture. Look for the small plaques and signs that tell stories of past residents and historical events. 4. Nighttime Enchantment Viru Gate takes on a magical quality after dusk. The gate and its surroundings are beautifully illuminated, casting a warm glow that accentuates the medieval architecture against the night sky. Visiting after dark allows you to experience a different atmosphere, less crowded and more serene, with the added charm of the gate’s dramatic lighting. Tips for Visiting • Best Time to Visit: Early morning or late evening to avoid the crowds and enjoy the gate in a quieter setting. • Exploration: Take time to walk through the small alleys just beyond the gate for a more authentic Old Town experience. • Photography: Capture the gate’s charm both during the day and at night to appreciate its full character. • Local Interactions: Engage with the flower sellers at the market for a bit of local interaction and perhaps pick up some Estonian blooms.

Kadriorg Art Museum is located in a stunning Baroque palace built by Tsar Peter the Great for his wife Catherine. The museum is dedicated to foreign art and features a permanent collection of around 10,000 works including Dutch, Italian, Russian, and German paintings from the 16th to 20th century. Additionally, visitors can explore special exhibitions and admire sculpture, graphic art, furniture, porcelain, and glass.
Cool palace with nice cafe. We got lucky with the sunny weather when we went there. The palace entry fee is quite hefty however and there isn't too much to see inside for that price. I would recommend just sticking to the outside as well as the surrounding gardens which are all free.

Would definitely recommend everyone to go there. It’s like a heaven inside the city. Both the park and the museum are incredibly beautiful. Most of the museum was closed as of August due to a new installation coming up. The halls, paintings, rooms all depict the gothic style. The sculpture room which can be easily missed has some really important sculptures and if you have time you can listen and learn about their historic background.

Wonderful little chalet with an impressive art exhibition. We were there at the special exhibition about flowers in art, and the paintings were stunning. Lots of Breughels, and dozens of other paintings from old Dutch masters. They also have a very interesting "Wunderkammer", with all kinds of curiosities, like the skeleton of a mermaid, or a two-headed chicken. Also, the architecture of the building itself is quite beautiful, inside and outside. There also is a courtyard in the back, where in summer lots and lots of flowers will bloom. And in front of the chalet, there is an extensive park.

1 | The museum is housed in the Baroque Kadriorg Palace, which was built in the early 18th century by the Russian Tsar Peter I for his wife Catherine I. The museum specializes in European and Russian art from the 16th to the early 20th century, featuring foreign collections that have no equivalent elsewhere in Estonia. 2 | The adjacent garden and park are worth visiting even if you’re not interested in paintings or don’t plan to go inside. The garden in particular is truly beautiful and deserves great admiration. Entrance to it is free. 3 | The museum ticket costs €15 (October 2025), and you can pay by card.

Went as a group tour. Enjoyed walking through the grounds and park approaching the museum. Undergoing some structural work so scaffolding in place. Quite busy inside. Good to see a group of young school children visiting.

This is one of the best art museums I have visited. There was a lot of good artwork, and the pieces were very well displayed. The building itself is beautiful, so even if I had not enjoyed the art, I would have enjoyed the decoration of the rooms. You must leave bags in the lockers. These are free to use. There is a small cafe. There are toilets. These were in a clean condition. There was a small souvenir shop. My only complaint is that when purchasing one of the beautiful cards, I was not provided with an envelope to go with it. I did query this and was told they do not have any to fit the card, so now I have a card I cannot post. The cashier was also rude. You have to buy tickets to enter. There is a ticket desk or a machine in the main entrance. The last Wednesday of each month has a reduced ticket price. You get free entry with a Tallinn Card. There is partial access for people who use a wheelchair. There is a lift, and portable ramps are used for some steps. The Russian art collection on the third floor is not accessible. There are accessible toilets There were tactile plans in the museum.

St. Nicholas' Church and Museum in Tallinn, Estonia, is a historic 13th-century church originally established by German merchants. Dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors and fishermen, it has been an integral part of the city's maritime heritage. The church suffered damage during World War II but has since been restored and now serves as a museum and concert venue.
Beautiful church. Entrance requires a fee but definitely worth it. Important to note that you cannot enter the church with a water bottle. The view from the rooftop is amazing and the Death Dance painting should be seen. You can use the lift to reach the rooftop.
Ece H — Google review
The church and museum contain religious artifacts, including a stunning macabre painting. Apart from the macabre, I found it all a bit boring. It was also crowded with a tour, which made it hard to appreciate the building as a whole. You are able to visit the different floors in the tower by lift or stairs, of which there are 233 steps. The lift took a long time due to the number of people using it. I gave up and used the stairs. The top floor has stunning views over Tallinn and is definitely worth a visit. The outside of the building is beautiful. As a note, there is a small children's playground behind the building. You need to buy a ticket to enter. The Tallinn Card is accepted here. There are toilets, these were clean. There was, also, a souvenir shop. Bags need to be left in lockers. These were free to use. The building is wheelchair accessible. There are disability toilets. They have put guideways in for sight impaired people at the ticket desk, cloakroom, and disabled toilets.
Shelley C — Google review
The highlight of the visit was the view of the Old Town from the viewing platform which can be reached by a lift within the church ( or take the steps). Some of the exhibits were interesting but you probably won’t spend too long here. There’s part of a canvas-painted work depicting the Dance of Death, some homeless bells and a fabulous modern stained glass window.
Carole ( — Google review
St. Nicholas’ Church is a must-visit for anyone interested in history or art. Beautifully restored after wartime damage, it now serves as both a church and an art museum, showcasing remarkable medieval religious art, including the famous “Dance of Death” painting. The Gothic architecture is breathtaking, and the acoustics make it a popular venue for concerts — a truly special experience if you get the chance to attend one. Peaceful, inspiring, and full of history — St. Nicholas’ Church captures the heart of Tallinn’s cultural heritage.
William O — Google review
Better than expected. There could be more items to show, but now the space can be seen better. Stairs to heaven, I mean to tower, were wonderful, but I took the lift down. Extra exhibitions (Estonian books, lego history of Estonia) were good addition. Price was little steep.
Teemu M — Google review
This is a cool Church to go inside and the viewing platform gives some lovely views. I wouldn't have paid for this separately, but it's included in the Tallin card you can buy from the Tourist information shop, really excellent value for money & I'd highly recommend. The lift can only take 5 people at a time, so the queue doesn't go down that quickly, so plan in some extra time for your visit.
Tyler L — Google review
Very impressive ex-church with a great view from the tower. The lift is entirely glass but very slow so not scared - the attached video is 2x speed
Keri B — Google review
There’s a lift - you don’t have to climb to the top as there’s a lift, and there’s an amazing 7 metre scroll of part of the dance of death, plus displays and a 500 year of books presentation. It’s tastefully done and the church is peaceful

Restaurant & Bar Kolm Sibulat in Kalamaja offers a unique fusion-confusion dining experience, blending international cooking traditions from around the world. The menu features a diverse range of dishes, including Mediterranean, Korean, and Middle-Eastern cuisine. From coconut seafood curries to pork belly kimchi flatbread to chicken schnitzel and homemade durum noodles with various protein options, there's something for everyone.
Kolm Sibulat is a hidden gem in Tallinn. The setting is simple and unpretentious, but the food is truly exceptional every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, and I was especially impressed by their attentiveness to my gluten intolerance. They adapted the menu with ease, making the whole experience feel thoughtful and seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food and genuine hospitality.

I love the tiramisu! Must try🥰The food is really good. I think the service could be even better, we need to give some food to the baby and ask the kitchen to warm them up. They were like we don’t have microwave. I feel my need wasn’t about having a microwave but get the baby some food to eat so he can be quiet and content in the restaurant. I think the food can as well be warmed up in the warm water since this is a restaurant. I am hoping they could help more and make the service stands out but it is okay, at least the food was good.

A restaurant worth checking out. We went for dinner during the week and enjoyed the experience. The menu is nicely limited, the portions are carefully thought out and prepared, for example the baby octopus was cooked really well. Had a nice bottle of Primitive with food. Extra thanks for the good and attentive service :)

We chose this restaurant for its convenient proximity to our hotel. Our meal began with a delightful selection of starters: porcini mushrooms and sea trout. As we settled in, freshly baked bread and butter arrived, followed shortly by two exquisite culinary creations. The fried mushroom balls, nestled in a luscious cheese sauce, boasted a crisp crust and deep, satisfying flavor. The sea trout, beautifully presented, was accompanied by a silky avocado purée, vibrant passionfruit sauce, and fresh strawberries—a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Our chosen wine, a Grüner Veltliner, complemented the dish’s bright acidity perfectly. With such a promising start, our expectations for the main course—the crispy carp fish—were high. The attentive waitress provided impeccable service, ensuring every detail met our preferences. The dish itself was divine, a masterful symphony of textures and flavours, flawlessly orchestrated. A true delight, both visually stunning and exquisitely balanced for the taste buds. The wine selection further enhanced the experience, creating a perfect pairing. For dessert, we indulged in fresh strawberries and Basque cheesecake, accompanied by a delicate glass of Sauternes. This final touch rounded off our meal beautifully, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. Thank you for the dedication poured into the menu, the thoughtfully curated wine list, the impeccable execution, and the warm, attentive service. From start to finish, we felt at home in every way.

Town Hall Square is a historic square in Tallinn, dating back to the 15th century. It is a vibrant hub hosting markets, concerts, and the annual Christmas tree festivities. The well-preserved medieval square is surrounded by charming independent shops and outdoor cafes, making it a perfect spot for open-air concerts and festivals such as Old Town Days.
Town Hall Square (Raekoja plats). Total heart of the Old Town. Cobblestones, colorful medieval merchant houses, the giant Gothic Town Hall itself it's pure storybook stuff, especially in winter with the massive Christmas market and tree. Perfect for people-watching from a cafe terrace (though drinks are pricey). Gets packed with tourists midday and in summer – can feel a bit like a theme park. Worth braving the crowds though. The atmosphere is unique, especially early morning or late evening when it's quieter. Look for the dragon waterspouts on the Town Hall and the weathervane Old Thomas. Essential visit. Pure medieval charm is undeniable. Grab a coffee, soak it in, imagine the centuries of history. Just expect crowds and tourist prices at the cafes. Don't miss it, but maybe avoid peak hours.

This was our first visit to Talin. We were on a cruise in the Baltic Sea and this was one of the stops. We were easily able to see all the major historic sites on our self guided tour using google maps and my own research. It is a beautiful old city. We walked into the town hall square and found wonderful collection of old buildings including the Town Hall Building built in the 1200s I believe. Lots to see here.

Quite a beautiful part of Tallinn, could be straight out of Austria or Bavaria. Plenty of public seating to enjoy the architecture, although it's a little unfortunate the city has allowed all the tourist trap restaurants to sprawl out onto the square. Nonetheless, well worth a visit.

Tallinn’s Town Hall Square is absolutely vibrant and full of life! The cobblestone streets add so much charm, making every step feel like walking through history. Surrounded by countless bars, cafés, and restaurants, it’s the perfect spot to relax, people-watch, or enjoy local flavors. The views are stunning – from the iconic Town Hall itself to the surrounding churches and seasonal shows that bring extra energy to the square. Whether by day or night, this place feels magical and is truly the heart of Tallinn.

HoriSont is a five-star restaurant and bar on the top floor of the Swissotel Tallinn, which offers an incredible panoramic view of Tallin’s Old Town and the Baltic Sea. The cuisine is based on regional specialties but presented in a way that stands out internationally.
Decent restaurant with a very professional service team, offering quality service. Food is good & well displayed, served at the right rhythm and temperature. Except some cries from a child a few tables away, the overall atmosphere is quite good.
Jacqueshk — Google review
There’s no doubt that Horisont is aiming for a Michelin star—and rightly so. A quick look into the head chef’s background, with silver and gold medals from the Chef’s Olympics, already sets high expectations. The service was impeccable—attentive, smooth, and professional, and you were never left waiting or unattended. That said, it did feel a bit too restrained at times. A slightly more relaxed, open, and engaging approach from the service team would make the experience feel warmer and more personal, especially in such a high-level setting. As a wine enthusiast, I did feel slightly let down by the wine glasses, which didn’t quite match the quality of the wine list or the overall experience. With such a carefully curated and impressive selection, this detail matters—and I consider this serious, constructive criticism that I hope is taken into account. When it comes to food, it’s clear that attention to detail, visual artistry, and technical precision are central to the kitchen’s philosophy. Most dishes were beautifully balanced and enjoyable, though there were a few moments where the palate felt slightly off or a component was a touch overcooked. That said, I have no doubt any inconsistencies were already addressed that very night—because what impressed me most was that the chef personally visited our table to ask for feedback. Not as a formality, but with genuine interest and humility. He took the time to listen and discuss, showing that this is far more than a job—it’s his passion and calling. The setting is another star in itself—located on the 30th floor, with a mesmerising view over Tallinn. It truly adds to the experience. Overall, I highly recommend Horisont—whether for a romantic dinner or a business meeting (once those wine glasses are upgraded!). With its clear ambition and sincere dedication, I wouldn’t be surprised if they earn their Michelin star very soon. So if you’re thinking of going—go now, before they have a well-earned reason to raise the prices. 😉

My go-to venue for excellent cocktails, atmosphere and views of the City. I’ve been to Horisont Bar numerous times and never disappointed — the quality of cocktails, snacks and the service really make this a special venue. The awesome views of Tallinn City Centre are an added bonus and make the experience even more memorable. For cocktails, I’d recommend the Espresso Martini and the Riki-Tiki (special). Sending my best regards and looking forward to seeing you shortly, Sten

We went here before the mentioning in Michelin guide and it has always been good. Now they have stepped up the game and this may be a star in the future. We took the tasting menu for 98 euro and wine pairing for 89 euro. I would say it’s good values for money. The sommelier has had a challenge when one of the starters had wasabi but the pairing excellently performed and great food and wine. We will come back again and maybe then a star on the wall ⭐️

An exceptional dining experience! The meticulously crafted tasting menu with perfectly paired wines was a true celebration of flavor and presentation — each dish a lovely masterpiece. The service struck the ideal balance between professionalism and warmth, with staff who clearly love what they do. A personal tour of the venue (30th floor of Swissôtel) offered nearly 270° panoramic views over Tallinn, crowned by a breathtaking sunset in the bar next to the dining area. An enjoyable and unforgettable evening shared with friends.

11.10.2025 visited Horisont Restaurant & Bar at the Swiss Hotel in Tallinn. This #michelinbibgourmand restaurant did not disappoint. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were worth the money. Compared to some of the other restaurants, this one could be considered better than some of the Michelin 1 star restaurants. The lady that was responsible for taking care of our table was really service minded, nice and charming. We wanted to give her tip, but when we were to pay with cards, we weren't able to put in extra tip like in Norway. Maybe you need to write down in advance if you would like to give tip, or maybe they just don't expect tips in Estonia. We don't know 🤷‍♀️

A nice restaurant, with a good price-performance ratio. You get some pretty good views and the bar next doors has some great drinks. The food came relatively quick and tasted fantastic. The overall presentation was very nice as well. I personally disliked some of the furniture and especially the lamps. We felt a bit being alone in the restaurant, because there were just two other guests. But that might be an exception and presumably not the restaurants fault.

Boheem is a charming crepe shop located in a traditional yellow wooden house in the Kalamaja district of Tallinn. While they offer an array of crepes, salads, and desserts throughout the day, Boheem is renowned for its healthy and delicious breakfast options. The little terrace in front of the building provides a perfect spot to observe the bustling morning activities of locals during summer while savoring a leisurely meal.
I hadn't been in years, so it was nice to pop back and have a late lunch with some friends. I chose the crepe (€11.50) which gives you the option of 4 toppings. I went with blue cheese, spinach, bacon, and wild mushrooms. It also came with a sour cream dipping sauce and small side salad, which needed to be seasoned more as it was quite bland. The crepe itself was very nice, though, and the wild mushrooms especially hit the spot for me along with the bacon. The service was friendly and welcoming. I like the interior in this place as it feels like you're in someone's living room and/or dining room. It's definitely worth a visit if you're a tourist in the city! :)

This place is pretty good, food was fresh and tasty. Eclectic atmosphere with tons of separate rooms, almost felt like a maze; but fun and vibey. Staff was nice and very…standard. Loved the banana mint milkshake; a must try.

This place is very cozy, atmospheric and beautifully decorated with antiques, paintings and unique details. The space feels a bit like a maze with multiple rooms. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, the menu was quite limited, especially for vegetarians, vegans and pescatarians. I chose the shrimp pasta in creamy chili sauce with marinated paprika and blue cheese since it was the only option I liked. My friends tried the Caesar salad, dumplings (note that they are quite spicy) and nuggets with fries. All food was decent but nothing special. Regarding drinks, the house wine was good, but the Tequila Sunrise had almost no distinct flavor. Overall, this place is more about the atmosphere and experience rather than the food or drinks.
Vladyslava S — Google review
The design of the cafe is very interesting, but a cafe remains a cafe, probably only drinks and light snacks can be good. We visited for a birthday dinner and were disappointed. We ordered soup and main dishes, they brought drinks first, then soups and then main dishes, which got cold while we were eating soup, who does that? The creamy soups were really not creamy, we tried two different ones, the milky soup with curdled cheese is far from being creamy, the vegetables in the soup were just from a set of frozen vegetables, the tomato soup was also not creamy, it blows people's minds. The main dishes were greasy and at really high prices, for which you expect a more aesthetic image on the plate. Dried buckwheat with mini shrimp that were overcooked rubbery, chopped smoked salmon, all mixed with tomato sauce and topped with one half of a not-quite-ripe tomato when August is tomato season. 55 euros were received for such a dinner. Only vermouth and spritz cocktail was tasty. It's a shame that we decided to have dinner here.

Been here many times and ate quite a lot of different dishes. Overall, rather simple food. Atmosphere is okay, but ventilation in the kitchen is not efficient enough and there is a super strong cooking/frying smell everywhere.
Anton P — Google review
Good nice simple food. Service a bit slow at first but picks up.
Jarmo S — Google review
We had lunch with my daughter, buckwheat with salmon and shrimps in tomatoe-basil sauce, pasta with chicken and Boheem pomegranate lemonades. So delicious! There was no dairy free pasta on the menu so the waitress arranged a special meal for my daughter. Super friendly service and very relaxed atmosphere. Also, we got our meals very quickly, portion size was good for a lunch. Definitely recommend!

The latte is now just normal/average, and the staff is not as friendly as I expected. Service can be slow, and you may need to wave to get the attention. Nonetheless, the atmosphere remains pleasant.

The KGB Prison Cells in Tallinn are located in a prominent Art Nouveau building that once served as the headquarters of the NKVD and later the KGB. The basement of this building was used as detention cells, making it one of the most feared prisons in the area. Today, the building functions as a residential space, but its basement has been transformed into a museum that commemorates the crimes against humanity committed there.
We visited the KGB Prison Cells during our time in Tallinn, and it was a deeply moving and thought-provoking experience. The exhibition is not very large, but it is powerful. Through original prison cells, personal stories, photographs, and detailed information panels, it gives a haunting insight into the dark chapter of Soviet repression in Estonia. The atmosphere is intentionally stark and unsettling — which makes the history all the more tangible. It's not an easy visit emotionally, but it's an important one. If you're interested in history and want to better understand the impact of the Soviet era on Estonia, this place is definitely worth seeing.
Chris — Google review
Very interesting and informative museum, only a small space in the cellar of the residential building down a side street , but the cells give an eerie atmosphere of the conditions suffered by the prisoners, brief video too in one of the cells. If you are interested in modern history the museum is well worth a visit. I visited Tallinn for the day from Helsinki and this was my first port of call.
Peter M — Google review
It was a very interesting museum and seeing the cells, being able to go inside was a different experience. The information provided in the museum was really informative. It might be easy to miss this museum from the street since the entrance is fairly small

Visiting the KGB Prison Cells in Tallinn is a deeply moving and haunting experience. The preserved cells, interrogation rooms, and stories reveal the harsh realities of Soviet oppression. Walking through the building gives you a powerful sense of the fear and suffering endured by countless people. It’s not an easy place to visit, but it is an essential one—offering important insight into Estonia’s past and a reminder of the value of freedom and resilience.
Arnab — Google review
A stark reminder of the brutality of humans towards each other. The museum is small, so it does not take very long to go around. It relies heavily on information boards. While these were interesting, particularly the personal stories, they only gave a surface insight into what occurred. When I first entered, it was very crowded, so hard to appreciate what I was viewing. The staff was very welcoming. You can buy a ticket just for the cells or a joint ticket for another museum. You get free entry with the Tallinn Card. There was a toilet. There is no wheelchair access to the building.
Shelley C — Google review
A must see! Time goes by, and people forget. This place is a stark reminder of the suffering Estonia and many other countries went through on the road to independence. It doesn't take long to see it, but it is well worth the visit. I guarantee, it will have an emotional impact on you!
Paul C — Google review
I visited the KGB Cells in Tallinn today with my museum card (really recommend it if you want to see lots of museums for a good price). The place is small but surprisingly interesting. The solitary confinement cell left a strong impression on me – it’s so tiny that I honestly can’t imagine anyone spending days there. Definitely worth a visit, and next time I’d love to join a guided tour.
Diana T — Google review
Very interesting, if not depressing history, place. The displays were clear and they did a good job with keeping temperature and air flowing. This would be an awful place to be interrogated. Glad they're using it to ensure we never forget.

NoKu Klubi is a cozy and welcoming spot for local artists and bohemian types, located on Pikk Street. The bar offers mismatched furniture, affordable drinks, and a simple menu featuring items like nachos, pork tenderloin, and spicy mushroom pasta. Originally a members-only club catering to Tallinn's cultural scene, NoKu has now opened its doors to the public.
The bartender Gloria was very attentive and friendly, I wish there were more people like her!

WERE KICKED TO THE OTHER ROOM AND WERE DENIED TO TAKE ANY GAMES TO THE OTHER ROOM! AVOID THE PLACE AT ANY COST AT Mondays! Went there just to chill, to play some games. Most of the good games were in se large room to se side, but when we sat down and ordered our drinks, a guy came up to us and said that the whole room was reserved (basically kicked us to the other room). Then when we went to the a look at the games there, they said that the games were only for that room, but we were welcome to join any table. We were a group of 5 and the room wes packed, so at end we couldn't play any of the games we wanted. Also a bottle of house wine is 30€... Also the tables were incredibly sticky and nasty. And the toilets were out of toilet paper... Don't recommend. If you want good beer, go Põhjakonn.
R. K — Google review
Located in Old Town, this place requires a door code, easily accessible through their Facebook page or a quick online search. Offering a cozy atmosphere, it's perfect for a casual drink and snack. Prices are reasonable, and they even host board game nights.
Muge B — Google review
Special place for those that are into drinks, great company and board games! But it's not for me. The place has quite a unique and interesting atmosphere. There are board or other games you can pickup and enjoy with your friends. The drinks selection is vast and I think everyone can find something they like. They also do cocktails with their own unique versions. Sometimes these come with extra protein bites of midges that are all over the place here especially on the restroom walls. There is not much to choose for food as only a basic selection of snacks is provided. I tried their fries and mozzarella sticks and they were ok. Restroom was clean, but there were no paper towels to dry your hands with. Water tap didn't work well the stream wasn't strong enough. There was only one waitress that did everything - served customers, made snacks, made cocktails, served beer, checked COVID certificates and everything else you can imagine. Poor thing no wonder she looked so tired 😟 There are free stickers though 👍 Overall it's not for me.

Fantastic hidden bar. Look out for the blue and red door on the Main Street - you have to press and hold the doorbell to get in. Quiet, cozy, and very friendly staff. Great selection of beers, fairly cheap for its location, and quirky decor. Highly recommend, but please don’t come in large groups that might be quite loud.
James N — Google review
One of the coolest cafes/bars in Tallinn. Although it is located in the old town and in a street often crowded by tourists, the place has a different, unique style. Nice decoration, good music and tasty dishes at low prices. It may be a little difficult to find, as the entrance on the street is closed and you have to dial a password to open it.
Nikolas B — Google review
This is a cool place for those, who enjoy the old/hister vibe. Lowkey this can be named as hidden gem of the old Tallinn. You need to know the secret code to get there. Overall the atmosphere is cool, but 5eur per small cider bottle felt too pricy (that cider was tasty tho) Toilet room felt dirty. So, good, but not perfect.

Art Museums
The Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design is a must-visit destination in Tallinn, showcasing the rich tapestry of Estonia's cultural heritage through its applied arts. This museum stands out as one of the largest and most popular in the city, offering visitors an insightful glimpse into both historical craftsmanship and contemporary design. Nestled among other artistic venues like Kumu Art Museum and Kadriorg Palace, it beautifully reflects Estonia’s unique identity while celebrating innovation.
Great exhibition! On the first floor the museum has a temporary exhibition, and on the 2nd and 3rd are permanent ones. A lot of nice exhibits.
Evgeny G — Google review
I have got the museum card which allows me to visit museums all over Estonia. This museum has been on my list for too long and I finally went there. This is a great museum for art lovers. It is located in the heart of Old Town. Looks small outside but it is rather spacious inside. I liked the fact that it was open on Sunday until 6PM. The exhibitions are attractive and you can literally look at them from all the angles. Amazing! There are 3 floors and the third floor is dedicated to the history of design. I enjoyed it because I am a millenial and I found many things which reminded me of my childhood. I recommend it to everyone. The fee is 8 EUR but it is worth it.
Julia M — Google review
This is a not-so-little gem of a museum. If you want to understand the remarkable scope of Estonian designers, across various disciplines, this is a delightful learning experience. Well curated, lit & staffed, this is well worth a few hours of your time, & the museum will likely surprise you in its scope, too. Check it out!
Leslie K — Google review
Really nice experience, the permanent exhibitions are very clear and detailed. There are many places to sit throughout the museum if needed. The downstairs temporary exhibition was beautiful!
Aaricia — Google review
This museum is a hidden gem. The main collection houses furniture, textiles, ceramics, glass, jewelry and more, mainly from the 20th century. Estonia has a very impressive wealth of artists and designers in the decorative arts, most of whom were previously unknown to me, so I found it very educational. On a summer day when the city was influxed by cruise ship visitors, this museum remained quiet and we practically had the place to ourselves. Highly recommend a stop here for lovers of design.
Tamara H — Google review
Spend 2 hours here you will learn lots about Estonian’s design past and craft masterpieces. The curator did a splendid job: tracked lots women contribution historically.
Skye M — Google review
An amazing contemporary art museum featuring many unique exhibits by designers — including delicately crafted glassworks by Vello Soa, ceramic dishes by Adamson-Eric, and large collection of jewelry made from precious metals and minerals. In addition to refined pieces, there are also fascinating contemporary artworks made from everyday or improvised materials — glass, scrap metal, or even an old steel hoe shaft repurposed into a machete, crafted using items found in a garbage pit near a public campfire site. The museum also showcases everyday objects from earlier eras, including the pre–World War II republic period: furniture, textile carpets, and more. The staff is highly professional and welcoming — a truly enriching experience overall.
Ivan K — Google review
Stunningly well-curated museum. It tells such a compelling story through its artifacts which are really playfully arranged. I loved exploring the different levels of the exhibits (in physical space), and really enjoyed that half the museum was dedicated to more artistic objects and the other to more functional ones, but in both areas there was a real wit and charm to the design. Definitely recommend a visit.

Von Krahl is a multifaceted establishment that includes a bar, restaurant, and avant-garde theatre. It offers an alternative to the mainstream atmosphere of tourist-heavy bars in the Old Town. The bar provides a space for intellectual conversations and artistic mingling, often frequented by theatre patrons and artists. With a concise yet reasonably priced menu, guests can enjoy live music while sipping on their chosen drinks.
Such a lovely, cozy and warm cafe! I loved the simplicity of food, the quality was fine and it did the great job on a cold afternoon. The menu offers both meaty, vegetarian and vegan food, even if the selection is not huge, there are still options available for everyone. Staff is friendly and helpful, the interior is wonderful and stylish. I really loved that this place works also as a home for different kinds of artists, since in the spacious rooms of this cafe-theater we saw young people practicing their singing, dancing or just enjoying their time together and sharing their ideas. I will definitely come back!

Only saw the first area, let's call it the band venue. Seating is uncomfortable and it gets cold quickly in autumn because entrance opens directly to that area. Bar is so-so.
Martin K — Google review
I think it's excellent. The atmosphere is quite unique, interesting design elements are used in the interior. Lovely and quiet place to be if you want to chill and chat with a special one. The food is great, loved their vegan burger, although it's not quite identical to meat it did taste better overall compared to what some restaurants offer with real meat. It's an interesting take as bun is made of pita bread. It's very tasty and combination of sauce and vegetables play well together. Their kimchi was also good, not as spicy and good side addition to any meal. Tea selection is very good as well. Prices are ok for off season. Place is clean and service was good.

The snack plate for 3 people was good, good sauces good snacks. For main course I had the steak, while usually I get asked how would I like the steak , medium, well done etc. This time I didn’t so the steak came well done. Sure I should have been the one pointing it out as well that I want it medium but it happens. Also was expecting a little bit larger steak for the price but all in all. A good experience!

Came to eat in with a group of 6 for dinner on a Sunday. It had a lovely view of the sea and looked really fancy. The service was also quite good. I was suprised that the prices were relatively on the cheaper side - the portions were big, visually appealing and tasted really good. So I’d say it’s a great spot for a family dinner or a brunch with friends. Only big minus thought was the music. Halfway through our dinner they turned on the music (which I guess they forgot earlier😅) and it was some tasteless tiktok 100 playlist with some of the songs being really inappropriate. Also it was really loud to the point that it was hard to have a conversation and even hear eachother. I felt bad for the tables next to the speakers….So if the music was quieter and maybe more fitting to the vibe of the restaurant I would have liked it more.
Linnea S — Google review
The tables and couches next to the windows have a really nice view. The general atmosphere is nice albeit a slight clash of decor. I liked their Tom Collins cocktail and the set discount on their house drinks is generally very appealing. However the service felt like it could've been a little friendlier and forthcoming. I asked if the goat feta cheese in Cesar salad could be replaced with the hard cheese from the other Cesar salads and was told they won't do it. I know they don't have to, but would've been an extra point in my book. In any case it was a good experience and I won't mind giving it another visit.
Olga S — Google review
I have been here twice and had one good and one bad experience. The food is good and I really enjoy the atmosphere. But once when I went to eat with my parents I decided to order online instead of through the waitress. What happened was that you could write a note for your food (for example I ordered without tomatoes and certain vegetables, due to allergies). However, I was served the food with both tomatoes and vegetables, and the waitress said that the chefs do not see the note that is written when ordering online. Which defeats the purpose of having having the note all together! She actually started arguing with me, which felt really unfair, but eventually gave me a new dish. The shrimp on my pasta was cold (So they probably just re-purposed them). Not the best experience, will definitely not be using the online order function again.

Hipster vibes, good cocktails, smiling staff, big terrasse, clean toilets. Not the biggest fan of the music that night, but the dj were good in their style. Nestled in the vibrant harbor area of Tallinn, Uba ja Humal is a must-visit destination for craft beer enthusiasts. This unique establishment serves as both a taproom and bottleshop, offering an impressive selection of local and international brews. The ambiance may lean towards the industrial side, but it adds to the charm of this cozy spot. With its proximity to the ferry terminal, it's an ideal place to unwind after a stroll along the sea or before embarking on your journey to Finland.
Uba ja Humal used to be my go-to place in Tallinn for buying beers. It was a beer store with a great selection of Estonian and international brews. It's been many years since my last visit, and now it seems to have transformed into something even bigger. I was surprised by how spacious it is and the impressive selection of beers on tap. It's more of a bar than a beer store now. While it was quite busy and noisy on a Saturday evening, it was still a good spot to sit down and enjoy some beers.

We find this place by accident when walking around the area as tourists and loved it so much that we had to return within a week. The guys behind the counter were very kind, very professional, gave very good recommendations on what to drink. The local ciders are very refreshing and brilliant alternatives for gluten intolerant ppl like my wife. Great and wide options of beers from various countries. We will definitely return here in the future. Thank you guys!

Great choice of various beers for reasonable price! Cosy pub atmosphere. Large choice of board games! They don't have own kitchen but you can order food from neighbour restaurant. Must visit this place!
Dmitri D — Google review
Uba ja Humal — the name may be hard to pronounce after a few drinks, but trust me, it’s worth the effort. This place is a paradise for craft beer lovers and a black hole for your ability to choose just one drink — the tap list is gloriously long and dangerously tempting. The vibe? Think hip but not hipster, chill but not boring. Staff are friendly and know their hops from their barley, which is always a good sign. No kitchen here, but don’t panic — you can grab a kebab from nearby and bring it in like a seasoned beer bar pro. Nothing says “living your best life” like sipping a hoppy IPA while unwrapping a late-night döner. In short: great beer, great people, no food — but who needs food when you have liquid bread and kebabs around the corner?
Valeri K — Google review
Always try to hang on here for a while when I can. The favorite place, the best choice, and the price policy is understandable as well. I know staff personally and love to have a small talk regularly, that is quite rare for cool and closed bar culture in Tallinn.
