Zoo

Tallinn Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal enthusiasts, offering a wide variety of animals in both traditional and modern habitats. It provides an opportunity to appreciate remarkable creatures from different species, including wild and predatory animals as well as birds. The zoo also features a captivating aquarium showcasing the lives of numerous aquatic animals. This attraction perfectly reflects Estonia's cultural identity by blending history with modernity, making it an essential stop for visitors looking to explore Tallinn's rich heritage and contemporary culture.
Best zoo we have been in several countries in Europe. Nice open space with a huge variety of animals including polar bears, tropical animals, fishes, snakes, etc. The polar bear is the number 1 highlight. The price for a family of 4 is only 21 euro. Free parking. Several cafes and toilets inside. Highly recommended.
York S — Google review
It is a pretty good zoo, but aesthetically not too pleasing. The animals enclosures are very big, which is a huge positive, just not for your legs as you need to walk quite a lot in the zoo to see everything. For most of the zoo, there's not much of a theme, so it mostly feels like you're randomly stumbling upon an animal enclosure instead of it feeling like a zoo. But, the polarium, the rainforest and the tiger enclosure are really cool and themed. In general it's definitely worth the price to come and visit here, but it's not perfect either
Jonatan R — Google review
Decent zoo, the enclosures are very big and the animals look well taken care of. If the polar bear isn't out when you pass, come back later and you'll be able to see. The tiger enclosure is a bit of a maze, definitely take a photo of the map before you set off. It's quite spacious and spread out, so be prepared to rack up the steps. There's also a cool petting zoo where kids can pet goats. It's also included in the Tallin card, so definitely recommend getting that 😀
Tyler L — Google review
one of the best zoos i‘ve been to! The animals had alot of space and they have a variant of animals like tigers and polar bears. Every animal looks really happy and comfortable. 👍 had a great time with my family.
Emily T — Google review
The enclosures seem big and the animals well taken care of. Some areas are being renovated and some enclosures are still old, but there are signs saying they're working on improving and renovating it all. Rainforest area was so well done, and what surprised me most was the tiger enclosure, which was huge, with spaces for climbing, swimming, hiding etc and signs explaining how they mentally stimulate and train the tigers. Signs and maps were clear. Most houses and restaurants close at 7 pm in summer, though the zoo itself closes at 8. Definitely recommend a visit - the newer enclosures make it one of the best zoo's I've been to, modern and enjoyable. Worth the money! I especially loved the bisons, my favorites, who came close to the fence and were curious about visitors 🤍🐮
Red — Google review
I love the variety of animals they have kept there. Moreover, I am so touched by how they design a dedicated indoor area that imitates the humid and warm rain forest only for my home country, Indonesia, plants and animals. They explain really well about the Wallace line that divided the typical animals into three regions. Apart from that, I can't give a full good rating for this zoo because I felt so sad that some animals were kept alone in their cage. What is the reason? By living with one or more companions, animals would be less stressed and more lively. And for the polar bear, I just had a gut feeling that it was running in anxiety to the visitor behind the glass wall.
Nat F — Google review
Really great zoo, you can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the planning. Only ten minutes from the city centre via taxi and a very reasonable €12 for an adult ticket. If you have a longer trip to Tallin it’s well worth a visit, lots of open space to wander as well as lovely gardens in between enclosures. The Polarium was a personal favourite!
Crécy B — Google review
Really worthy to visit. In my opinion one of the best I’ve seen. They have an excellent immersive experience and a lot of animals from many different places in the world. I loved to see the polar bear. Was cheap, not crowded and very spacious. With places to do trekking

Nestled in the scenic Rocca al Mare area of Tallinn, the Estonian Open Air Museum is a captivating destination that transports visitors back in time to experience Estonia's rich rural heritage. Spanning an impressive 72 hectares, this immersive museum showcases a stunning array of authentic buildings from the 18th to 20th centuries, including charming farmhouses, windmills, and village schools.
I would gladly give the place 6 stars. There is plenty to see and try out. It's set in a forest, so a pleasant walk in between buildings. There is a cafe with good food at a reasonable price. And as with most open-air museums, it's the volunteers and special events that bring the place to life. We saw a group of dancers dancing various traditional dances and they also got quite a few of us dancing along at the end. The volunteers in the rooms were enthusiastic, the old lady teaching us how to use stilts was especially enthusiastic.
Feldgasse F — Google review
An excellent place to visit. The old buildings are well preserved. It spread across a huge area so be ready to walk and be ready to spend a lot of time. It's little far away from the old city and downtown. Bus connectivity could be availed on weekdays. But during weekends it's better to book a cab since public transport runs on a reduced interval. There is a nice cafe in the middle of the museum. Serves delicious cake and coffee
Dheeraj J — Google review
This is a good 7km walk amongst the forest filled with original Estonian buildings from the 1800s, inc some windmills, farms, fisherman cottages & more… Definitely worth a visit! They also had an original Soviet building complex set up to show the changes through the years, which was very interesting.
Nick S — Google review
A really good and quite large open air museum, showcasing Estonian rural buildings from all corners of the country. Definitely worth visiting! In october many of the buildings were closed (maybe 1/3 were open), so you could only see them from the outside - still managed to spend over three hours here. So take your time and enjoy - beside the houses, the whole area is nice. There are animals grazing etc. And the historical cafe/restaurant is really lovely - it is a roadside tavern from 19th century! Takes about 30 minutes to come with the public bus from city centre.
Henri ( — Google review
1 | A beautiful open-air museum located right by the sea. The area is fairly large and contains rural buildings from the 18th to 20th centuries, brought here from different parts of Estonia. As a visitor, you get a very good idea of how people of various professions used to live, cook, and work. It’s a great weekend destination for families with children. 2 | The open-air museum includes rural houses, animal enclosures, windmills, a café, a souvenir shop, and other buildings. I especially liked the playground — Estonians are really good at shaping public spaces and working with wood. 3 | The summer season runs from April 23 to September 28, and the winter season from September 29 to April 22. A regular ticket in the summer season costs €18, and in the winter season €14. A family ticket costs €38 in summer and €30 in winter. For an additional fee, you can ride a horse or rent a cart or a bicycle. 4 | If you plan to visit the museum outside the main season, I recommend checking in advance which buildings are open. Some of them may be closed. 5 | There is a parking lot right in front of the museum (free for visitors), or you can arrive by bus. The journey from the city center takes about 30 minutes. 6 | The museum is very well maintained. All buildings are restored and accompanied by information boards. We explored the museum quite thoroughly and spent about an hour and a half there.
Petr N — Google review
Great place to wander around, giving a great insight of how people in Estonia lived in the past. The little tavern served delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and other delicacies.
Ton D — Google review
Enjoyable location for the family. My kids (8,5,1) really enjoyed themselves. Cost €28 to enter during the winter. Some things were locked, but we still had plenty to explore. I would imagine this being a brilliant place to visit when there is snow!
Ryan J — Google review
The Estonian Open Air Museum offers a remarkably comprehensive overview of rural life across different historical periods, and the kolkhoz complex constitutes one of its most intellectually stimulating sections. Far from being limited to architectural reconstruction, this part of the museum provides a nuanced interpretation of the Soviet-era collective farming system and its social implications. The exhibits successfully illustrate the tension between collectivist ideals and the realities of everyday rural existence, highlighting the profound transformations that shaped Estonian society in the mid-20th century. The museum as a whole is vast and diverse, but the kolkhoz area stands out for the depth of its historical narration and the subtlety of its museographic design.

The Tallinn TV Tower is an impressive 314-meter communications tower in Tallinn, Estonia. It was built in 1980 to enhance broadcasting services for the Moscow Summer Olympics. Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction with a glass-floored viewing platform on the 21st level that offers stunning panoramic views of Tallinn and its surroundings.
Very cool they've done a great job with it. You go 360° around it on the inside and then on the outside they have a quarter balcony that's attached to the restaurant which is also very good and not very expensive. The food is amazing. I had the schnitzel with the sauce and fries which were great!
Greg A — Google review
Be aware!!! For €19 per person you get a lift to 21st floor - where you can buy other “experiences” like silly pictures or VR whilst sitting on the chair. There apparently is some history exhibitions but it was unfortunately closed on the day of our visit and nobody bothered to tell us beforehand. Still full price ticket. They are showing “art” of a lunatic and you can buy an espresso for €3.50 at 22 floor. So for €19 you are taking a lift to see dirty carpet, dirty toilets and not working floor windows (except 1) - absolutely pathetic. Now I know why they do not accept ICOM cards - they would have to be ashamed for what they are actually selling. Absolute SCAM - as those places are everywhere in the world free - when you are having a restaurant or cafe in the top where you can spend your money ((
Natália — Google review
Very big disappointment! So many things are wrong about this place. When you buy a single full admission ticket online it’s 18 euros, same ticket on the spot will be 19 - cashier didn’t give heads up about it while selling the tickets. There’s almost no exhibition, really just several photos and fun facts, all looked old and used, and seemed that designed for children, not adults. There’s a small exhibition on the 2nd floor, also auditorium, then on the floor 21 there’s 360 degrees observation spot (not impressive, same old and used) and on the floor 22 - restaurant and small part of the open terrace where you can walk behind the wire fence. Overall, really overpriced place, and I cannot understand why do many positive reviews… We do not recommend it!
Olha K — Google review
The TV Tower offered good views and a simple layout for exploring the upper levels. The outlook across the city was impressive and worth the trip, but the experience itself felt limited. Beyond the observation deck, there was not much in terms of interaction or engaging features, and it could easily be developed further to make it more memorable. Staff were polite and efficient, and the tower was well maintained, though the overall visit felt short. It was worth seeing once for the view, yet the tower itself could make more of its space and history to improve the experience.
Omer M — Google review
The Tallinn TV Tower is a very interesting and modern place to visit. The highlight is the edge walk — you can even take photos sitting on the edge, which is such a unique experience! Our guide Annika made the tour really fun with her great explanations about Tallinn. Definitely worth it!
Andej B — Google review
The Tallinn TV Tower is an absolute must-visit! The views from the top are breathtaking – you can see the whole city, the coastline, and even far into the distance on a clear day. The exhibition is very well designed and gives you a fascinating insight into Estonia’s history and the tower’s role. The glass floor sections add a fun thrill, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A perfect mix of culture, history, and adventure – highly recommended!
Stefan M — Google review
Got a combined family ticket for botanical gardens and tv tower - 39 euro. Not expensive and nice way to spend a relaxed afternoon
Rob — Google review
The price was decent for the attraction. Staff were friendly. There are different attractions at the tower but still found the tower uneventful. However, the views from the tower are spectacular. So much green everywhere. Really highlights the beauty of Tallinn.

The Energy Discovery Centre, situated in a 102-year-old power plant in Tallinn, offers an electrifying experience for families. With over 130 interactive displays and unique lightning demonstrations, it provides an educational yet entertaining journey through science. The center's virtual planetarium adds another dimension to the experience. It is a popular destination for school trips and individual visits due to its hands-on exhibits on electricity, optics, and other branches of physics.
A lot of fun for adults, young people, kids and toddlers. Basically for everyone! Interesting things to see, but also hands on acitivities.
Jarmo J — Google review
Awesome place for both kids and adults. So many stuff to play with. Having a lot of interactive thing sis really a plus point. You can see how does a Tesla coil work and there is a tiny planetarium too. They announce before they start a show. Unfortunately it is delivered only in Estonian. Therefore, you many miss the show if you don't understand the local language. Wide range of practical scientific experiments in a compact place. Walking distance both from the old town and the harbour. Staff is also very nice and friendly. You have free of charge locker facilities if you want to leave your bags or stuff in there. I saw that many kids were having a real fun in this place. Also, adults even have so many things to learn. Especially for science enthusiasts at ANY age. Highly recommended.
Rehan M — Google review
We got the family ticket 43 eur for 4 of us, which was a bit better than a single ticket. Found it very interesting, and boys enjoyed all these interactive games they had inside. Spent a good 2 hours inside and also saw the lightning show the employee Triin showed us. She was wonderful. Thank you very much for the tour and explanations of the plant and the machinery inside :)
DIANA E — Google review
Unpleasant experience Most of the expositions did not work, pretty much all apart from those where you press a button to read a text I remember how it used to be before: loads of hands on expositions that worked, and you could try different things and learn from them. I took a picture of the 2 things that worked (even for the car we had to go back to the reception to ask to turn it on🥲) Extremely sad that they got to this point. I wish that if most things don’t work the ticket price could have been discounted
Anja S — Google review
Very informative and fun museum for kids and adults to learn about energy production now and throughout the year. The museum is in a former electricity plant and the setting contributes to the learning opportunity. Lots of information on the solar panels, tap water in Estonia, energy sources, and old style generators. Visitors can try their luck to turn on the light while cycling or using different methods. Very informative. The shows are also impressive with a large faraday cage. Some additional ear coverings for little ones could be useful (or to encourage adults to provide for children). The basement level has several toys to keep children engaged (Duplo, wooden train, hot wheels, ball drops, etc). Some exhibits were super useful to understand physics while some photo/ video montages linked to the skull were a bit out of place. All in together as of August 2025 most experiments work well. The little kids play room could use a deep cleaning or revamp entirely. Adults entrance fee is 15€. Planetarium not included - which seems to excessive. We will return !
Allanah — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing! It’s a good half a day exploration package with 3 floors full of cool interactive stuff for kids. All the signs are in Estonian, English, Russian and Finnish. There’s a planetarium, lots of information about the history of Estonia’s energy industry and more. We were particularly impressed with the invisible harp and of course all the electric spheres. They also do an electric lights show which is fun for kids.
Rosana E — Google review
Definitely one of the more boring science museums we have visited. Exibitions are a bit worn and not that interesting compared to other similar science museums. Maybe OK for a rainy day with children, but otherwise best skipped.
Brian H — Google review
Fascinating museum! It has a lot of interactive, educational, and entertaining things. I especially liked how they also tried to explain why it's important to know how things work. Feels like a lot of effort was put into designing this center and its exhibits. Definitely recommend visiting. You will not be disappointed.

Nature & Parks
Kadriorg Park is a historic city park in Tallinn, Estonia, established in the 18th century and home to the impressive Kadriorg Palace. The park features formal gardens, museums, and monuments. Visitors can explore a wide range of museums within the park, including art museums like Kumu Art Museum and unique ones such as the Estonian Health Museum and Soviet Statue Graveyard.
Kadriorg Park is a true gem in the heart of Tallinn. Beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of history. The flower gardens are stunning in summer, and the autumn colors are magical. Perfect for a relaxing walk, a romantic date, or a family picnic. The Swan Pond, Japanese Garden, and elegant palace architecture make it feel like a fairy tale. Great place to escape the city noise without ever leaving it. One of my favorite spots in Estonia — always worth a visit!
Stiven D — Google review
It’s a nice park, pretty big in total, even if it’s cut up by a road. A few playgrounds for kids, but they looked a bit worn down. The real downside is that they’ve really kept down the number of trees. They’re very sparsely planted, so you almost always see the surrounding city. Never any sense of being in a small forest. Also not a lot of variety overall. It mostly looks the same across the whole park. Except for a small area where there’s a Japanese inspired garden. I’ve for sure seen nicer parks, but this one is fine for a stroll. Not too crowded, even on a nice Sunday afternoon.
Robert I — Google review
A beautiful park in the city center, accessible by tram No. 1. A place to enjoy the scenic views, relax, enjoy the beauty of nature, and gain peace of mind.
Khalil B — Google review
Beautiful park and easily reachable with public transportation. It has really nice walkable paths and hosts several museums. It's a must for a several days itinerary in Tallinn. With gloomy weather this park gives Irish/Scottish vibes.
Valentino I — Google review
Nice park with well maintained gardens behind the palace art museum. Lots of museums scattered through the park as well! There was a cafe and a few (pay-to-use) bathrooms as well.
Sian C — Google review
Very nice and spacious park area with both Kadriorg castle and the presidential residence. Ran into the president himself by chance. Great place for a run
Paul O — Google review
**"Kadriorg Palace and its gardens are an absolute gem in Tallinn. The palace itself is stunning – a beautiful example of baroque architecture, with elegant halls and ornate details that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Inside, the art collection is well-curated and offers a great glimpse into Estonia’s cultural heritage. The gardens are just as impressive. Perfectly landscaped, with colorful flower beds, fountains, and tree-lined paths, they are a peaceful escape from the city bustle. I visited in summer, and everything was in full bloom – it felt like walking through a living painting. Even if you’re not into art, a stroll through the gardens alone is worth the visit. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, enjoy a coffee in the nearby café, and simply soak in the beauty. Definitely a must-see when in Tallinn
Maria C — Google review
Kadriorg Park in Tallinn was created in 1718 by Russian Tsar Peter the Great as a summer residence for his wife, Catherine I – its name means “Catherine’s Valley.” The park was designed in Baroque style by Italian architect Niccolò Michetti, featuring symmetrical paths, colorful flowerbeds, fountains, and the Swan Pond. Today, it remains one of Tallinn’s most beautiful green spaces, home to the Kadriorg Palace, Kumu Art Museum, and even a Japanese Garden, blending history, art, and nature in perfect harmony.

The Kiek in de Kök Museum and Bastion Tunnels is a restored 15th-century cannon tower that now serves as a museum with exhibits and guided tours of secret tunnels. The museum, located in Tallinn, offers an interesting look into the city's history. The limestone bastion passages, which were used to conceal soldiers' movements, have recently reopened with new video and sound effects.
Spectacular and expansive museum with a lot of interactive entertainment for kids and interesting information for adults. Great the views from the tower tops as well as from the wall bridge and pleasant the cellar walk. Lovely to catch a break with a drink and a snack at the bar.
Tony B — Google review
It was a really impressive and interesting museum. Both offer historical information and interactive parts. You can climb the walls, the towers and go down the tunnels. The last tower is a cafe museum which showcases different chairs and bar chairs from around the historical cafes of Tallinn. Tunnels are a must but since they end outside I would recommend for you to go inside the towers and the museum first.

After going to that Da Vinci rip-off exhibition, we came to this museum to kill some time before our flight. We were actually surprised by it. You walk around the fortress wall and the towers enjoying some nice views and then down in the long tunnel watching some historical videos which were quite interesting. I think the museum did a good job making it interesting.

1 | Kiek in de Kök is a museum of the city’s fortifications, presenting the defense of Tallinn from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century. From the upper floors, there is a nice view of the entire city, including the harbor and the Old Town. The name Kiek in de Kök refers to a 15th-century artillery tower built as part of the city’s defenses. During the visit, you can also explore the tunnels beneath the city. 2 | What we liked most were the views and the authenticity of the place. The museum includes chairs from various cafés from different historical periods, which I found interesting. “Kiek in de Kök” in Estonian literally means “peek into the kitchen.” 3 | The ticket price is €16 per person, and on the first Sunday of every month, the museum can be visited for free. We spent about an hour here. 4 | At the time, it was one of the strongest artillery towers in the entire Baltic region. The tower had 27 gun embrasures and 30 for small arms, with some walls reinforced up to 4 meters thick. In some parts of the wall, you can still see stone cannonballs fired by the troops of Tsar Ivan the Terrible in 1577. 5 | During World War II, some of the tunnels served as gas-tight air-raid shelters with ventilation and reinforced doors. In the 1950s, the corridors were renovated with electricity, telephone lines, water supply, and toilets. Three-story metal bunks were brought in, allowing the corridors to serve as an emergency nuclear shelter for the city’s residents.

Really amazing museum, you get the most incredible views of the city, but also the historic exhibits are incredible. The underground tunnels are really cool, but the entrance to them is really moist and slippy, so be very careful as I nearly ended up flat on my back. This is included in the Tallin card you can get from the Tourist information shop, highly recommend getting one.
Tyler L — Google review
A very good museum, especially because the tunnels (bastion) beneath the castle are so interesting. It's well presented, the views from up top across parts of Tallin are good. Take your time there. You easily need 30mins plus just for the tunnels. And don't scrunch up your ticket. You need the barcode to go through auto gates to enter the tunnels. You pay just for the museum or for the towers or for the tunnels included. I recommend doing the lot.

Admission 16 for the adult Among total of three tower that you can climb up. This museum contain four towers that are all link together and an underground tunnel you can go in. It may take you roughly two hours or more. If you like history of Tallinn wall and mediaeval era. There are also a cafe loceted in one of the tower without at admission fee.
Tommy L — Google review
A very engaging museum for a topic (defense/city planning/firemen/etc) that is often done so poorly and dryly in other places. Great to be able to clamber through the restored areas -- do note that I do not see this being as an accessible museum for people with mobility struggles. There are a lot of steep stairs to go both up and down! *also there are manikins throughout the bastion tunnel -- creeper me right out! Take a buddy and a warm layer and you'll be fine though, just pre-warning so you avoid my initial jump scare at the bottom of the stairs down!

Located in Tallinn's Old Town, the Estonian Health Museum, established in 1924, offers a permanent exhibition focusing on anatomy and Estonian healthcare. The museum also serves as a training facility with interactive displays. One of its exhibitions is dedicated to the value of sleep in reducing stress and recuperation. Additionally, it features a virtual exhibition about dreams. Visitors can explore human anatomy and physiology through models and real organs while learning about healthy eating and complex body functions via interactive exhibits.
Great way to entertain the teens when it’s a very cold, snowy day! They provided a family ticket for the 5 of us, and we spent about 2 hours there. We could have spent more, but so much to see in Tallinn. Great afternoon and lovely staff.

Went Friday afternoon, no wait and mostly empty. Reception was very friendly and forthcoming. The interactive displays are so much fun! Would recommend for all ages, but I imagine children would have the most fun. Lots to see and read and do. Would recommend to set aside about 2 hours to really immerse yourself.

If you are interested in Medicine or medical history this is the place to go. The were several children visiting the museum at the same time and the fun and awe they experienced was clearly visible.

An absolutely great museum, with many interactive exhibits and a huge amount of educational and useful information on all aspects of human health and life. Topics include human evolution, the functioning of organ systems, health issues, and the history of consumer items and hygiene products throughout the development of civil society. I was impressed by the number of artifacts, the detailed information provided, and the comfortable atmosphere for absorbing everything on display. The security staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Ivan K — Google review
A well-organized and informative health museum! It offers great insights into the human body and its evolution — an engaging and educational experience for both kids and adults. A must-visit spot if you’re in Tallinn, especially with children.
R U — Google review
Visited the museum yesterday. Liked that it has many interactive things, it made me feel really involved. I like how you interact with the museum topics in various ways: eg via screen, by trying something on, by touching, smelling, checking your own abilities. I also liked the child- and teen-friendliness and supportive way of communicating about health, sexuality, and medicine, which was also really visual and easy to grasp thanks to this. I would advise a visit to this museum for people for who it might be hard to accept something about their body or mind. I think this museum normalizes the variability of humans and human experiences and also the fact that sometimes we may become sick, chronically or only for a while. The topic of death and grieving is also part of the museum and the supportive manner of telling about this might help those experiencing such events.

A rare experience - no one in the family was bored at any point during the visit, and the 2 hours we spent there flew by. A good example of a museum that is able to capture the attention of young and old; field professionals and passers-by. We visited on a weekday morning, and it had a fair amount of people, but not too crowded - not sure how busier times affect it, but at this point we didn't have to queue for any exhibits.

Tallinn Botanic Garden is a must-visit 300-acre park in Tallinn, offering open-air and greenhouse collections of diverse plants and flowers. It's a top tourist destination due to its abundance of perennial and rare trees, providing an ideal opportunity to immerse oneself in nature. The garden also features greenhouses with a variety of plants requiring specific atmospheres, making it a valuable experience for visitors.
A peaceful oasis just outside the city! The Tallinn Botanic Garden impressed us with its wide variety of plants, beautiful greenhouses, and well-maintained paths. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing walk in nature. We especially enjoyed the tropical house and the lovely outdoor areas. A great escape from the hustle and bustle – calm, green, and full of beauty.

Affordable option for hands on museum for kids. The kids will be interested as touching and trying is an invitation for them in this museum. We spent about 90 min before the kids felt they had done all, keeping in mind they don’t speak Estonian. 16€ per family Some exhibits were more engaging (eg modular blocks, kitchenette, treadmill, etc) while some are more for looking simply. It would be interesting to have more building or toy experience (eg assembling a wooden train instead of only looking at a model train circulate), magnatiles or ball drops to build. While it can be a nice rainy day activity, the outdoor playground would be lovely in a nice weather. On a weekday, we had the museum to ourselves from 10 am to approx 10:40am. Great time to visit is early on. Well adapted to small kids with small toilets and outdoor stroller parking.
Allanah — Google review
I was unsure whether to visit this museum or not, because, unfortunately I do not have any kids of my own as yet. Yet some business travellers come with family, and I could never tell whether the museum is good or not. Summary: I was very positively surprised, because it was super lovely. ;) There are many interactive details, and the children I witnessed were all incredibly immersed and happy. I also found a detail I will come back for a YouTube video. But I digress.. There are multiple rooms in which children can experience various jobs hands-on, like an atelier, a post office and a grocery store. There is a skiing slope one can ski on, and a place where kids can feel the textures of various fabrics. Outside there is a huge rock to climb and many "chalk" floor games. I also caught a naughty pirate eating pancakes in the cafe. Ok- she was a bit older than the usual crowd but very cool this outfit. ;) The 🏆 the museum presents at the reception: my declared favorite was the museum rat (muuseumi rott). Also: Their trash bins look like caterpillars and the children's trash bins talk! (Unfortunately they speak only Estonian..) Further down the hall, some amazing (and some pretty creepy) drawings by former, small guests. The shop has affordable water bottles (!) And super cute bags and accessories.

St Olaf's Church, a Baptist church in Tallinn, was built in the 14th century and features a 124-meter tower that has survived multiple lightning strikes. The church offers a narrow observation platform at the top of the tower, providing breathtaking views of Tallinn's Old Town and the Gulf of Finland.
Grand looking church from the outside, trip up the Tower is recommended but stairs are steep and spirally, bit dodgy if passing people too. View from the top is worth the effort . There is a €5 to €8 charge depending on age to climb the Tower though the church is free.
Peter M — Google review
If you want a great view of the cit, pay the 8 € fee and climb the stairs. It is a narrow, winding staircase that takes you up about 250 steps to get a view of the city from about 60 meters above street level. The same staircase is used for going up and down so sometime you have to step aside to allow people to squeeze past you.
Gard K — Google review
Great view of the Tallin city. 360degree Free entrance to the church Tower ticket 8 euro In the 1500s, (if i am not wrong)It used to be the tallest building in the world, ship use the church as a preference guide. Therefore, the thunder hit the church quite some times. It was burn and rebuild several times. Very worth of climbing up for a good view of the harbor and the city itself.
Tommy L — Google review
Impressive church inside but it's all about the view from the tower for me! It's a narrow staircase to the top, I didn't have to pass anyone but I'd imagine it's awkward, there are a couple of seats half way up should you need a rest, but the view is very much worth the trek upwards
Keri B — Google review
I visited St. Olaf's Church during a day of sightseeing in Tallinn. I paid 8 Euros for admission to the tower. It's quite a hike, and to be completely honest, I found the top a little scary (it's quite safe though) in the moment. You can buy a ticket there, and the church can process card payments for the tickets, but if you want something from the giftshop, you'll need cash. Beautiful views!
Bryan S — Google review
The entrance for the St. Olaf’s Church is free unless you want to climb to the tower which is supposed to provide you with an amazing view of the city. We preferred not to climb to the tower of St. Olaf’s church due to it’s stairs and due to the fact that St. Nicholas church has an elevator going up to its tower which is really close to St. Olaf’s. The interior of the church has a gothic style and the walls are mostly empty. The most striking thing about the church is how high it is.
Ece H — Google review
A tough climb but so worth it. The stuff (in the ticket booth) was so kind and friendly. The 270 stairs are medieval and as such very hard to climb, even though there is a resting place half way with 4 chairs. But if you have enough will power, it won’t be a problem. Up stairs, it’s not for the faint of heart as the platform is narrow, high up and very “solid”. It’s probably the best view of the city, and I’ve climbed most of the towers there!
Elon S — Google review
Everybody has her or his favourite attraction in the old town of Tallinn. For me, it's St. Olav's Church. The church itself isn't maybe the most beautiful church in Tallinn, but what makes it special, is the possibility to climb up to the tower where there is an observation deck. You can see there all around old and modern Tallinn. The entrance to the tower is 8 euro and it's a heavy trip to clamber to the observation deck but absolutely worth of it, especially if you don't get a heart attack by climbing there up.

Tallinn City Museum, housed in a medieval merchant's home, offers a comprehensive look at the city's history from prehistoric times to its independence in 1991. The museum features high-quality displays showcasing various aspects of medieval society and 20th-century life, including turbulent wars, Soviet occupation, and Estonian independence. Additionally, the museum includes a notable porcelain collection along with exhibits on puppetry arts and age-appropriate activities for children.
A cool museum which shows how people lived in Tallinn hunreds of years ago. It looks tiny but inside it is rather spacious. I enjoyed all the exhibitions and a tour. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions. The museum will be closed for almost a year, so I am looking forward to visiting a reopened museum.

Wooow💖💥👌🤩🎶Tallinn is a beautiful and unusual city where you will enjoy every moment of your stay. Feel like you've stepped back in time to an incredibly vibrant and colorful medieval city. Due to the preservation of a large number of buildings dating back several centuries, Tallinn looks like an open-air museum in which there is a lot to see. Apart from the well-known attractions that should not be missed in Tallinn, the Estonian capital should be visited in length and breadth, because there is something interesting on literally every corner of the Old Town, from beautiful back alleys to authentic restaurants...💖

Smallish and varied. Very interesting all about Tallinn. Only really worth it if you buy the Tallinn Tourist Card and do 3 or 4 museums a day. Great friendly staff. Special, naughty temporary exhibition on the top floor! Spent about an hour here because it was our third day of non-stop sightseeing, to get value out of the Tallinn Tourist Card, so had museum fatigue! The building itself is super cool, with winding stairs and interesting windows. It was quiet on a Monday afternoon.

Tallinn City Museum is located in the old part of the city. It depicts the history of Estonia's capital, showcasing artifacts, exhibitions, and interactive displays that bring the city's past to life: city boundaries and fortification, maritime transport, everyday life and dwelling, royal family belongings, exquisite collection of bags from 1900s. On the top floor is the 18+ section named the Indecent Tallinn.
Nino K — Google review
A nice little gem for history lovers. Very unassuming when you walk in, but the museum has four floors of exhibits. Don’t miss the basement or the top floor for 18+. It was very educational. I particularly enjoyed the section on guildsmen and how the old guild systems work. Now I know where the title “journeymen” comes from. 🤔
Chad T — Google review
You can tell the museum has made decent efforts. A total of 5 floors. The first floor offers a fairly comprehensive look of Tallin history - the brochure in English is very useful. Don’t miss the exhibition on top floor - Indecent Tallin - about sex, which is sort of mind blowing.

The Estonian Museum of Natural History is a captivating destination for families and nature enthusiasts alike, nestled in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town. Visitors can marvel at the remarkable 2.9-meter Atlantic sturgeon, the largest fish ever caught in the Baltic Sea, alongside various forest creatures like wolves and lynxes, as well as birds and marine mammals.
It was a lovely visit although as an Estonian I did not see many English signs there. It has to be mentioned that within the next 6 months they will renovate the place and move to Noblessner. Then I would go again. If you are a foreigner or local reading this review then PLEASE check out “muuseumikaart”! It costs around 60€ and you are welcome to visit most of the museums in Estonia. Cultural bang for the buck!

Thought the museum was interesting but it's a very narrow small building with a lot of stairs. Not many rooms to see but what there is there is wonderful. The animals and such were in both estonian and English however the text for the exhibits were only in Estonian
Rebecca H — Google review
This is a tiny museum with a nice exposition on the estonian flora and fauna. They provide various prepared specimen and a lot of derails. The target group seem to be kids and young people from Estonia as most of the texts are provided in estonian language. Luckily, they also provide some website with audio guides in english. Hence, don't forget your headphones and earbuds if you are not an native speaker. Due to the small size of the museum with 3 different floors and 2 rooms at each floor, one to two hours are sufficient for a full walkthrough. Enjoy
Philipp G — Google review
A very informative museum. Using an audio guide to translate to English is a great idea! I can't give a perfect score, sorry, as we the wifi didn't work and we had to use data for all the audio files.

A small, lovingly curated museum that highlights the flora, fauna and ecosystems of Estonia. Sadly, most of the exhibitions is not translated into English, so you need to use an app. For some rooms, English text folders are available.
Alex — Google review
The temporary mushroom exhibit was truly wonderful. And I greatly appreciated the free English audio guide to find out more. The rest of the museum defintiely caters to Estonians, particularly families with younger kids. I appreciate that they have a strong museum culture. But if you don't understand Estonian, you won't be reading much, as all the posters are in Estonian. But the audio guides (available in English, Finnish, Estonian and Russian) was a great help. The displays are done beautifully and I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of fauna and flora. For 10 eur, I think it's a fair price to pay.

This theater is a place where you can enjoy both puppet shows and productions aimed at young adults. It has undergone a lot of changes since it was founded in 1952, and its interior is modern and attractive. It's also a great place to learn about puppetry, as it has an extensive repertoire of plays and musicals.
Went there while on tour in Tallinn. This museum is actually a very beautiful gem. As a dance company touring a family show (in a different theatre sadly), we were very curious to know more about the famous connection between the country and the art of puppetry, as well as their work with young audiences. I was really astonished by how much work had been produced in this theatre and the museum is a great vitrine of everything that has to do with the legacy of this theatre and the impact of puppetry. The museum is very well designed for everyone to enjoy, to experience puppetry, see the technical but also magical aspects behind this art. The people who made this museum really poured all their passion in building it and it makes the expenrience of it really great. From reading the review, we expected a very small museum (as in 2 rooms) but it has way more to offer with loads of interactive activities. In my opinion, only a few point have room to be improved: - the screen to watch the productions in the Time machine room could really be bigger - audio guide would be a very good plus - signalling could be made more obvious (we skipped an important bit at the beginning only to notice it at the end) A MUST-SEE in Tallinn!!!

This is a must visit if you have children. My nine year old wasn’t thrilled about visiting a puppetry museum, but he soon changed his mind. It’s very interactive, with lots of opportunities to try different types of puppets. Everything is displayed beautifully, and there’s a lot to see even if you’re not familiar with some of the characters. The woman at the ticket desk was very helpful, and told us to be sure to check out the bathrooms, which were gorgeous. My children came out totally inspired. Can’t recommend enough.

The Estonian Maritime Museum is where history sails right into fun ⛵⚓. From ancient shipwrecks to a full-size submarine you can actually walk through, it’s like stepping into a time machine—only way cooler and less risky. Located in a massive tower of the old town wall, they have exhibits of cogs ( including the original wreck of a medieval cog hanging from the ceiling), sailing ships, steam ships and modern motor ships on four stories. The Estonian History Museum, located in the Great Guild Hall in Tallinn's Old Town, is a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that showcase Estonia's rich historical narrative. The museum, founded in 1802, offers a diverse collection spanning from ancient times to the present day. Housed within the historic Great Guild Hall, visitors can admire the blend of medieval and modern architecture as they explore engaging displays.
Must visit! Great museum, nice exhibition, absolutely lovely history, interactive will be interesting for kids, a large collection of weapons and money from different centuries.

Top floor is not great, kind of gimmicky, and has a bunch of relics and imitations of relics that are irrelevant to Estonian history or not related to the plaque they’re under. It tries to answer why Estonia didn’t become a monarchy, but then features a throne where you can take tourist pictures as a king and queen…? I will say however that there is one very worthwhile thing on the top floor and that is the video that auto plays in the first room. Very educational and well done. Underground exhibit is much better and feels like an entirely different museum. There’s also weird sound effects and music that start playing when you enter the restrooms. That being said, if you’re in Tallinn, it’s still worth visiting the museum.
Indie G — Google review
The Hansa exhibition was my main interest and I must say, the standard of curation was exceptionally good; both academic and with creative interactive games for children. The exhibition flowed well and my dream to be a little bit as good as for Rīga! Not as massive as Lübek, which is a permanent dedicated museum, but has to be said, a gem! Well done!!!
Aija P — Google review
Interesting, but much more a set of modern exhibits versus a visit to renovated historic building. Various exhibits have different stations and all have English explanations. You can also get an audio guide. There’s a little something for everyone, but I don’t think you need to see it all to enjoy the experience.
Cynthia C — Google review
I really loved the museum, it was definitely one of my highlights during my trip to Tallinn. It was a good decision to start with it to get an overview over the history of Tallinn (also since the City Museum was closed). The exhibition about the Old Hansa was phenomenal. I learnt so much about Estonian history and how it has been occupied for centuries. The exhibition was very informative and still humourous. Even better that the museum is in this historical building.
Rebecca R — Google review
If you get the Tallin card, it's worth stopping by here. However, I wouldn't have paid for it separately. The exhibits were cool and the building itself is stunning, but there are many better more interactive museums in Tallin
Tyler L — Google review
Really interesting museum in a superbly restored historical building. Across multiple floors, many fine and unique artifacts are on display here, including findings from the Viking and pre-Christian ages, hidden treasures, and tombs of ancient Estonian wealthy and mighty people ,-) However, it's worth noting that for just a few days, it was possible to observe ancient artifacts confiscated in 2018 at the Russian-Estonian border. After restoration, they are now expected to return to Ukraine.

Pirita Adventure Park in Tallinn is a thrilling destination for families seeking an active day out. Nestled conveniently within the city, this park offers an exhilarating experience among tall pine trees and a sandy beach. The park features six high adventure trails open from April to September, catering to various skill levels. Visitors can enjoy zip-lines and rope courses while testing their bravery and agility. With trails suitable for all ages, it's a great place for both kids and adults to spend the day.
It's my first time here. There are 7 different trails located near the beach. The view is totally stunning! The trail starts from easy to high-hard level. Before I start there is an instructor to guide us on how to use the equipment for our safety. The last part of every trail is my favorite! Recommended to try! All of the staff are nice and helpful.
Opallpyp — Google review
Had a great time on September 1, 2024 - the team supported and motivated us from time to time while we were on the trail. Will definitely go back to take on the hardest trail - didn't have the strength to pursue the challenge after the beach trail. 😜 The team trusted us to go for lunch - the park usually doesn't allow leaving the grounds and coming back later as per their policy. That made the day pleasant - we got to accrue some strength from the Pizza Kiosk pizzeria near by.

A wonderful place for great memories, especially with the family! 7 levels available, innovative safety equipment and pleasant view to the sea. Definitely a place I would recommend! And gloves as well...
Ivan P — Google review
Very fun for most ages. Cool obstacles. Only thing is there were multiple holdups, up to 30min long, where some small kids who were scared would keep everyone waiting while the workers yelled encouragement from below. Nothing wrong with coming here with kids, but I doubt that the screaming 5 yr olds actually wanted to be there.
Matvei P — Google review
Great Park, 7 trails, you go one by one 1,2,3,4,5, "beach trail" , and the last is no.6. Each next trail is more difficult than previous, the last one (no. 6 - also colored as "black") is the most difficult, you have to be in a good shape and I think doesn't suit for kids and adults lower than 150 or even 160 cm tall. I suggest the park team to place some notes regarding suggested height and age for each trail. In any case it was great adventure.
Alexander K — Google review
Lovely place with friendly stuff and beautiful adventure paths, some of them are quite challenging. We were there with a company of adults only and that was fun. Refreshing air filled with the smell of pines - priceless. The price for the park was 24eur

Great place for kids and adults as they have trails for all ages and u can spend a full day there as ticket valid for a day. Also this park is located in convenient proximity to the beaches and there are few coffee or restaraunt around. There is free parking close to the place but it maybe very busy after 11am.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an impressive orthodox landmark located on Toompea Hill in Tallinn, Estonia. Built at the end of the 19th century in a flamboyant Russian style, it was funded by public donations. Despite past controversy due to its association with Russian occupation, the cathedral has been restored and holds a special place in the hearts of the city's residents since Estonia regained independence in 1991.
This building is a stunning example of Russian architecture in Estonia. It stands out against the skyline. The insides are nicely decorated, though not as elaborately as the exterior. It is free to visit. There is a well stocked religious shop inside the building. There are some cobbles in the area, but on the whole, the cathederal is accessible to people who use a wheelchair. Ramps are used to aid with access.

Absolutely stunning building! You can see it from most places in old town, but it's lovely to go inside too. They don't let you take photos inside though just a heads up, but it's still worth visiting.

The beautiful cathedral is certainly worth a visit. Its exterior is quite lovely, and entry is complimentary. While the interior may not be grand or expansive, it is still worth taking a moment to appreciate.

This church stands amid centuries of various leaders wanted to tear it down. The most recent was 29th century when the government did not have the money to do do. The church has several candle stations to various saints. Beautiful design.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is one of Tallinn’s most striking landmarks and a true masterpiece of Russian Revival architecture. The ornate domes, detailed mosaics, and peaceful interior make it a breathtaking stop while exploring Toompea Hill. Even if you’re not religious, it’s worth visiting for the history, craftsmanship, and quiet sense of reverence inside. A must-see for anyone visiting Tallinn’s Old Town!

Hotel Viru & KGB Museum, located in Tallinn, was one of the first foreign-owned hotels during the Soviet occupation. It is known for its association with the KGB, who allegedly wired every room to eavesdrop on guests. The museum showcases artifacts such as uniforms, cameras, and spy gear used by KGB agents during that time. Visitors can explore two rooms that have been preserved since the 70s and 80s, featuring bugging devices and officer uniforms.
Book a tour on the website or make a reservation with the front desk. Meet up in the lobby about ten minutes before your tour. You're going to take an elevator ride up to the top of the hotel to learn about it's unique history as a means for the KGB to spy on foreign visitors. It's an hour tour and a thorougly enjoyed it. About 20 people on the tour and the guide leaves ample time for you to take pictures of the rooms. Great conversation and great views of the city too!

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour from Mart, whose dry sense of humour, personal experience and bank of knowledge made it a good all-round experience. I considered it good value for money but be prepared to digest information at a fast pace as Mart speaks quite quickly! He answered all my questions in between stops, which I was very thankful for. A great way to spend an hour and learn more about a very interesting time in Estonia. Would recommend.

Very interesting tour, a little on the expensive side, but I didn't mind paying for it. The tour guide is great, very knowledgable, you visit a couple of secret rooms on the floor that didn't exist and you also get to use both balconies facing in opposite directions to get a good view of the city. I don't think it said in the booking that the meeting place is the left side of the hotel lobby, there's a desk with the google map marker and the word "here"
Keri B — Google review
Our guide was excellent…. Very interesting and sincere. She shared her personal experiences in the Soviet Union in Tallinn, which made the experience much more meaningful. I wish that more of the hotel had been preserved for the tour.
Pam G — Google review
This was my second time visiting the museum for the guided tour and it was a really great experience. Our guide Pasha was really good at explaining and making it a fun and interesting tour with the use of dry wit and humour to make the stories come to life. You need to book your tour in advance and they get filled up fast since it's only for small groups so if you want to go make sure you book your tickets early! Keep in mind that the museum is only available with the tour at their specific times but it is really worth it even for Repeated visits!
Renate S — Google review
Honestly speaking, I’ve expected to see a bit more artefacts and equipment, but the museum is basically only two rooms on the rooftop of Hotel Viru. However, our guide Rene is an absolute legend with a lot of insight and knowledge about the history of this place, and how the KGB operated back then. Him alone was worth the price of admission. Fun way to spend an hour in Tallinn.
Antun T — Google review
Very interesting tour of old KGB offices inside of a historic hotel. Pasha [Pavel], our guide, had a fantastic sense of dry humor. The museum is quite small, but it was an interesting tour. The views from Floor 22 are a highlight.
Melissa M — Google review
Interesting experience, though a bit pricey for a 1 hour tour. Totally low-tech - the value is in being in the actual KGB spaces, hearing the stories, seeing the artifacts and photos up close. Bonus excellent views! The guide was informative, with a very dry sense of humour. Small tour group, so booking in advance is recommended.

The Hellemann Tower and Town Wall Walkway is a well-preserved 13th-century defense system in Northern Europe, featuring 1.85 km of wall, 26 defense towers, and two gates. Visitors can explore parts of the wall and several towers offering views of the Old Town and Toompea. The Fat Margarets Museum showcases a 700-year-old trading shipwreck, while the walk begins at the Viru Gate near the Hellemann Tower.
If you're visiting Tallinn, Hellemann Tower and the Town Wall Walkway is an absolute must-see. We visited during a one-day stop from a cruise, and this ended up being one of our favorite experiences in the city. Climbing the tower and walking along the preserved medieval wall gives you a truly unique perspective of Tallinn’s stunning Old Town. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — you get to look out over the red rooftops, church spires, and cobblestone streets in every direction. It’s also one of the best spots to really appreciate the layout and charm of the walled city from above. Definitely bring your camera — the photo opportunities are incredible! The tower itself is well maintained, and the narrow, slightly uneven stone steps add to the authentic medieval feel. The walkway stretches a good distance along the wall and connects a few different towers, with information panels along the way that offer some historical insight. It's not overly crowded (especially in the morning), and it’s very reasonably priced — making it one of the best value attractions in Tallinn. If you’re up for a bit of a climb, the panoramic views alone make it more than worth it. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to soak in the atmosphere, history, and unmatched views of one of Europe’s most charming medieval cities!
Celine L — Google review
This place is amazing. Entrance fee is €4 per person, and it’s totally worth it. Once you go up the stairs you have access to the top of the wall which gives you access to a great view of the city. Also, you have the option to explore the interior of the wall which has rooms with old pictures of Tallinn. Staff did not speak English when I visited, but they are nice to you. Many restaurants and bars around as well.
Vinicius P — Google review
Construction of the tower and walkways began in the fourteenth century and ended some three hundred years later. All these years later, we can still climb the tower and wander the walkways. Entry is very cheap, but cash only. It is not possible to buy tickets in advance. The first set of stairs is modern, but further up, you are walking the original stairs. These are narrow, steep, and uneven. Views are not great. As the city has modernised around the medieval section, it has become hemmed in. There is no disabled access due to the age of the building.
Shelley C — Google review
A pleasant place. A walk along the wall allows you to feel the atmosphere of the past. Beautiful views of the old town. Several interesting exhibitions and high attention to safety. Reasonable price.
Wojciech C — Google review
Nice walk on top of a portion of the wall and great views from the middle tower. Stop for an excellent cappuccino at the bar at the entrance !
Tony B — Google review
It is a fascinating historical site in Tallinn’s Old Town, offering a glimpse into the city’s medieval past. Climbing the tower and walking along the restored section of the town wall provide fantastic views of the city and surrounding area. The narrow passageways and ancient stonework truly transport you back in time. While the climb may be steep for some, the views and sense of history make it worth the effort. However, the experience had its downsides. Entry costs €4 per person, which isn’t expensive, but they don’t accept cards, which was inconvenient. There’s also no option to book tickets online. We didn’t have cash on hand and had to withdraw money from an ATM, which added an extra €3 in fees. If you plan to visit, be sure to bring cash!
Highway V — Google review
CASH ONLY! There is an ATM down the road to the right of the entrance. An absolute must visit. There are lots of stairs, I’d imagine no wheelchair access. The place smells of old castle stone – lovely. Lots of signage explaining the architecture and history of the tower and wall. The walkway is great, offers a lovely view of the quaint rooftops of the old town and the streets below, and one can imagine themselves guarding the city wall a few centuries ago

The Ferris wheel itself offers a nice view of the city, but the customer service really let the experience down. The staff at the reception/shop seemed completely uninterested and unwelcoming. Can't say I recommend this to everyone. The view that it offers is not as good as it's quite far from the city center. It goes around 3 times. The ticket price is 10 eur. And in summer it's quite hot inside as the glass boxes are heating up like saunas. Maybe it's worth doing it once.

This was an amazing ferris wheel ride, we saw the whole dang city! It went around a few times and it was really amazing 🤩
Laura H — Google review
The ride cycles 3 rounds from start to end. I would have liked that it went a little more slowly or have more rounds. The facilities are new and modern although the cabin is not heated and can get very cold. The views are nice. You can see the expanse of the city and the sea. Choose a clear day to go to enjoy better views. Bring a coat on cold days. There is a cafe at the lounge but it was not opened when we visited.

Ride was really nice, 3 times and around 12 minutes long. Luckily we did not have to speak to girl working in shop - cause there are ticket self service kiosks. Historical landmark
Fat Margaret is a historical cannon tower located in the Old Town. A short walk from this landmark will take you to another significant tower called Kiek in de Kok, which was built by the Swedes and served as a bomb shelter during World War II. The name of the tower translates to 'peek into the kitchen,' as it was believed that one could see into the kitchens of grand houses in the lower town from its top floor.
Fat Margaret is a fascinating historical gem in Tallinn, rich with stories of the city’s maritime past. This massive, round tower, part of the city’s medieval fortifications, was originally built in the 16th century to defend Tallinn from sea attacks. Now, it houses the Estonian Maritime Museum, which makes it a perfect stop for history enthusiasts and anyone curious about Estonia’s seafaring heritage.
Wisanu T — Google review
We visited Tallinn for just one day while on a cruise, and Fat Margaret (Paks Margareeta) was our very first stop — and what a great way to kick off our visit! It’s located just a short and easy walk from the cruise port, making it the ideal starting point for anyone arriving by ship. The building itself is impressive — a massive, round tower that once served as part of the city's sea gate defenses. As you approach it, the structure immediately captures your attention with its size and character. Inside, it houses part of the Estonian Maritime Museum, which was a pleasant surprise. The exhibits are well-organized, informative, and beautifully displayed. From old ship models and navigation tools to full-scale vessels and interactive displays, there’s something for everyone — history buffs, kids, and casual visitors alike. One of the highlights of our visit was climbing to the rooftop for the panoramic views of Tallinn’s Old Town and the harbor. Absolutely worth the few flights of stairs! The contrast between the medieval stone structure and the modern ships in the harbor below really gives you a sense of how far this city has come over the centuries. We spent about an hour and a half exploring the tower, which left us plenty of time to enjoy other parts of Tallinn. If you’re in town for a short visit, especially by cruise, don’t skip this spot. It’s a great introduction to the city’s rich maritime and architectural history, and being so close to the port makes it super convenient. Highly recommend as a first stop in Tallinn!

This turned out much better that expected. The build is very impressive from outside and inside. A bonus is that it hosts the Estonian Maritime Museum. Loads of model ships, history of ships and shipping. Great interactive exhibits. Nice cafe on top of roof with great views as well . This was our first visit to Tallinn. We were on a cruise in the Baltic Sea and Tallinn was one of the stops. We spent the day on our self guided walking tour and were able to see most of the famous historic sites. When we first found Fat Margaret, we were a little surprised that it was rather short. Thought it would be a bit taller. Built in the 1500s . Very unique round design. Very nice to see. One of the most popular spots to take pictures. Very crowded.
Perry H — Google review
To be honest, I was quite underwhelmed by the Maritime Museum. There wasn't much to see inside, and I found the exhibits lacking in depth and variety. However, I must admit that the rooftop offered beautiful views of the old town and the sea, which was the only highlight of my visit.

The Super Skypark trampoline and play centre is the size of a soccer court and offers active leisure and pure fun all year round. Both to adrenaline-hungry adults and youngest members of the family. The major attraction, of course, is our trampoline area consisting of two arenas on a total of 1500 m2. For the first time in Estonia, trampoline basketball and dodgeball are available on our courts. Discover your superpowers – do a double-flip dunk or dodge your opponent’s shot by a backflip. Your fantasy is the limit!

Generally nice place. Has space, semi-safe climbing area and separate jumping areas with 5D movie theater (didnt go there). However, few things agitated - the whole place has obviously underperforming ventilation/air conditioning, so its stuffy and smelly a bit. Toilets should be cleaned more often and also the staff could take a more proactive stance and tell older kids to behave I was there with a bunch of 3-4 year olds and didnt feel too safe with some 10 year olds running around like crazy and also using foul language.

Lennusadam, also known as the Seaplane Harbour Museum, is a maritime museum housed in a 16th-century tower and a remarkable hangar built under Peter the Great. It boasts a submarine and a sunken ship from the 1560s. The museum offers an immersive journey through maritime history with over 200 authentic items, interactive activities, simulators, and a big aquarium. It is considered one of Europe's biggest maritime museums and is popular among history enthusiasts.
One of the best museums I’ve ever visited! Definitely worth checking out, especially with kids. It’s full of informative and interactive exhibits related to maritime history. There’s a real submarine you can enter and explore in detail. You’ll also find various ships, sails, maps, cannons, and seaplanes. Two seaplanes let you sit inside and try a basic but fun flight simulation. There’s also a remote-control boat activity where you can steer small ships, and a computer game where you rescue someone at sea. A small submarine theater shows a lovely cartoon about the importance of sea life and keeping the Baltic Sea clean. Kids can try rope climbing up a mast (extra fee) and enjoy a small playground. There’s so much to see and do—highly recommended! 😄

This is a fantastic museum, I only really wanted to go for the sake of going inside submarine. However, it turned out to be so much fun. It's very interactive, lots of exhibits for you to play around with. You can go in a flight simulator, drive toy boats, climb netting from a ship mast & much more. Out the back, there's also boats you can see/go on with your ticket. Be careful trying to climb inside the submarine though, it's not an easy feat 😂. Simply put one of the best museums I’ve been to. It’s like no expense was spared when building this place. They have a beautiful building which houses a huge submarine that you can fully explore. They have lots of interactive exhibits including a flight and boating simulators. And outside there were at least four boats or small ships you could go on. I would highly recommend vista if museum if in Tallinn.
Jay K — Google review
Wonderful naval museum! They have an original mine laying submarine from the 1930s as the centerpiece; also a very interesting section about the Estonian Navy; plus the remains of an medieval boat; plus a large section about sea mines; plus so much more. And they have lots and lots of activities for kids, like two bi-plane simulators, some boat simulations, a harborbwhere you can steer your own ship .., it is just a marvellous place if you are interested in maritime things. And there also is a very nice café on a terrace overlooking the museum. A clear highlight of any visit to Tallinn! There is ample parking space around the museum, but you have to pay with the Snabb-App, since the parking is managed by this company. And beware - they are diligently checking, if you have paid ...

Superb museum. This is how items should be displayed in a 21st century museum. Fantastic lighting, interactive displays and interesting artifacts. No dusty cabinets here. Highly recommended and don't forget to go outside and go on the boats as well, they are included in the entrance fee but this wasn't made clear when we arrived 😁

Lennusadam is one of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited 🚢✨. Housed in a stunning seaplane hangar, it combines history, technology, and hands-on fun in the best way. Walking through a real submarine, seeing historic ships up close, and exploring interactive exhibits makes it an experience for all ages. The building itself is breathtaking, and the harbor views outside are just as beautiful. A perfect mix of learning and adventure—this isn’t just a museum, it’s a full journey into Estonia’s maritime past.

Best museum I have ever been to! Plenty of great exponents. Everything very well preserved, everything very interesting. There is a lot of attractions, plenty for everybody. Getting into a submarine - memory for life. But for me most impresive was walking into engine rooms of old steam icebreaker. Worth going to Estonia just to visit this place.

The Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom in Tallinn delves into Estonia's 20th-century history, spotlighting the effects of Soviet and Nazi occupations. The museum showcases personal accounts, artifacts, and multimedia presentations to offer a profound insight into the struggles endured by Estonians during this tumultuous period. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring personal testimonies, historical documents, and interactive displays that illustrate the resilience and perseverance of the Estonian people.
Very well make exhibition about the resistance and suffering of the Estonian people over the years until the country became liberated. Makes it easy to understand and is moving.

A very insightful museum about the lives of everyday Estonians and their struggle for freedom during the Second World War under the Nazi and Soviet occupations...and the eventual oppression from the USSR until their independence in 1991. This experience will throw you into the lives of the people who lived and died through these terrible times of terror and persecution. The stories are sad, but full of hope and positivity to be able to eventually live in a free and independent Estonia. Definitely worth a visit if you love your WW2 and Soviet era history...it's a must! Easy 5 stars!

A very meaningful museum that I recommend everyone to visit, highly interactive and is a labour of love to offer an insight into the pain and suffering Estonian people have ensured and persevered.

Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom in Tallinn offers a detailed and engaging look into Estonia’s history under various occupations. The exhibits are well-curated, providing both educational insights and personal stories that make the history come alive. Walking through the museum, you gain a deep appreciation for the resilience and courage of the Estonian people. Overall, it’s a highly informative and moving experience for anyone interested in history and human perseverance.

Excellent museum with great audioguides. Some of the explanations can go on for 20 minutes which is a bit long, but you can skip.

An amazing modern museum with a great variety of interactive exhibits telling stories about people who suffered from the loss of freedom during times of occupation, both as a country and on a personal level when imprisoned or sent to exile. Here, you truly understand the price citizens had to pay to keep their country free and independent. The museum features a very nice headset system that allows visitors to explore information on every item or story in thematic rooms spread across multiple floors. During my visit, there was also an exhibition of posters by the famous Estonian/Ukrainian artist Nikita Titov in the entrance to the gallery.

Very interesting, but also very dark. It's a good place to get to know more of the darker history of Estonia's occupied decades, but also a lot of tales of resilience. Would really recommend a visit, but don't expect it to be an uplifting experience.

The Kalev Marzipan Museum Room is a small museum located within the Maiasmokk Cafe in Tallinn, Estonia. It showcases hundreds of marzipan figurines and painted models, offering visitors a glimpse into the art of marzipan painting. The museum is dedicated to Georg Stude, who started manufacturing marzipan in the building where it is housed. Visitors can watch artists create marzipan figurines and purchase sweets at the on-site shop.
Flagship store-slash-cafe of Estonia’s most well-loved Kalev marzipan brand. Cafe’s huge and comfortable — great spot for a quick hot choco break from all the walking around in the cold. Store’s also stacked with all sorts of marzipan flavors you can bring home.
Sheila C — Google review
Both a store and a cafe. You can see how they make their famous marzipans and how they color them, give them shape. It was nice to watch it and see different figures on display. The cafe was really crowded and it is pretty hard to find a place to sit.
Ece H — Google review
The marzipan displays here are very minimal with only two display cabinets. It is still interesting to see and worth seeing but it isn't possible to spend more than 10 minutes here as there isn't much to do. The paint at home marzipan kit is very cool and worth trying. While it is pricey, I did enjoy painting my marzipan cat and bunny! I didn't think the prepainted marzipan was too steeply priced, and it would make for a very cool present.
Emily A — Google review
Hard to call a museum. Most of the loose sweets on sale aren't even marzipan (only berry ones). Boiling hot as, rather amazingly, they've put aircon outdoor units indoors at bottom of stairs (so blasts hot air _into_ the rooms).

It's more a café than a museum but at that, it's quite nice. Coffees were great and the treats were excellent. There is a shop at the front to get more treats to take home. See the picture of the marzipan bar... they're delicious.

Water & Amusement Parks
Atlantis H2O Aquapark is a popular water and adventure park located just 30 minutes north of Old Town, easily accessible by public transportation. It offers a variety of attractions for both kids and adults, including swimming areas, slides, and inflatable pools. While some visitors noted minor maintenance issues such as broken floors and narrow spaces, the overall experience was enjoyable. Families particularly appreciated the half-deep pool for swimming and paddling with inflatables.
We visited this aqua park on a Tuesday and were very impressed. The atmosphere was relaxed and not overcrowded, the pools were clean and inviting, and there was a wide variety of slides suitable for all ages. The staff were attentive and welcoming, which created a pleasant experience from start to finish. Overall, a wonderful place to combine fun and relaxation.

Main area/pool; Not my favourite part but for sure fun for families and kids. Everything around there is designed for them. Spa & Sauna Area; I've never enjoyed going to the sauna as much as I did there. Many varieties in temperatures, scents, programs and etc. Saunas are mixed and with bathingsuits and no towels. Still a lot of kids running around but I didn't mind. The smoothies and garlic bread there are TOP !!!! There are some Jacuzzis, 1 normal bigger relax pool and a sporty pool. There's also a 18+ area I didn't try so not much to say. Overall everything was quite good.

Spent a full day here with two kids in summer 2025. It was raining, so the place was packed, but we got in fast with no issues. The slides and pools were fun, and people were super friendly. That said, the park is about 20 years old and really feels outdated now. It’s still the only big water park in Pärnu, but it could use a serious refresh.
Nicolas S — Google review
Disappointing condition despite a fun concept Kids love the slides, but the place feels quite worn out and unclean. The floors and corners around the pool area were dirty, and I’m fairly sure I even noticed some mold. The water didn’t seem very clean either, and the next day my child developed a noticeable skin rash and irritation. The lighting is poor and the whole environment feels damp and neglected. I really like the concept of H2O and it could be such a great family spot, but it’s definitely time for a proper renovation and better hygiene standards.
Helen K — Google review
We went to a spa with the family on July 13th to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The receptionist left a bad impression—she was serving us with an arrogant attitude, handed (or rather threw) the key without a word. We didn’t hear a “please” or “thank you” either. Overall, an unpleasant experience.

Nice beach in Tallin just 10 minutes from city center. Can easily uber/bolt here for €5-7. They sold ice cream, drinks and food at the beach. Also option to rent surf equipment and paddel boards. Playground for kids and beach volleyball on the beach also. Sand wasn’t super clean, but ok. In the water sand wasn’t nice and water looked clear and clean. Had to walk out for a bit before it got deep enough to go in.

1 | A beach on the edge of Tallinn that is easy to reach by bus. There is some basic equipment for beach volleyball and changing cabins. The beach offers a good view of downtown Tallinn. 2 | The beach is fairly dirty and the water even more so. It’s better for a walk than for swimming. My impression of the beach wasn’t very good, but that may be because I visited in autumn.
Petr N — Google review
All along the beach there are signs saying that swimming there is hazardous to your health. The water has a brown color and the further north you walk along the beach the browner the water becomes. No one is swimming but some children are splashing in the surf. To me the water looks heavily polluted.

Restaurant
Restoran Olde Hansa in Tallinn offers a unique dining experience that takes visitors back to the medieval era. The restaurant's ambiance is set with candlelit tables, tapestry-filled walls, and live traditional music played on instruments like loots. The menu features Baltic delicacies such as sauerkraut and game sausages made from bear, wild boar, and elk.
First of all - come hungry. No, seriously, skip lunch. And maybe even breakfast. We had the feast for 2 and those three courses were more than enough food - and my wife and I are hearty eaters. The quality of the food was excellent - and we can tell, because one of our hobbies is medieval role play and so we've had many expertly prepared feasts in the last 20 or so years. But be warned - they used different spices in medieval times and while many dishes may look familiar, the taste can be special. But for us, everything was just delicious. The service was great, too. It started by a servant washing our hands and every piece of the meal was later explained in great detail. You can also order as much of everything as you want, if you run out of something (which happens to us with the wonderful dark bread ...). The atmosphere is very cozy - the only light sources are candles on the tables. It can be tricky to read the menu (to decide which beer or wine to have), because the room is only very dimly lit. The whole experience is not cheap - feast for 2 people, with drinks and tip was 160 Euro. But it was worth every cent.
Axel T — Google review
Definitely a wonderful experience, but do not count on the food as a meal for the day especially if your from the Arab region. We ordered the deer dish to share just to be cautious and we never finished it! I recommend coming in just for the experience and maybe try something out of curiosity but don’t count on the food flavors too much. The bathrooms were absolutely terrible and overall I believe the place could be maintained better than its current status (unless its part of the intended atmosphere) The staff were the highlight of the experience, they are so into character with their gestures, language, and overall spirit. Would not come back again but would recommend visiting at least once.
Thyma E — Google review
Even though this looks like a textbook tourist trap, and the dishes are rather expensive, this was an overall good experience for me. The restaurant looks interesting, and the waiter was pleasent and quick. I ordered a meat tasting plate (as it was one of the rare cheaper options), and was surprised at how tasty it was. I really enjoyed it. The downside is that if you are very hungry and also short on money, this place is better to be avoided as the full course for lunch would cost a fortune.
Ji J — Google review
This is my dream restaurant. It's fully lit by candles and has a medieval theme. It's super spacious - 3 levels. Attention to detail is well appreciated. The bathrooms especially! At first I couldn't find the toilet paper and soap! 🤣 Yes it's slightly pricey but worth it in my opinion. Staff are incredible ! After all, this is a whole experience in itself. Best birthday feast ever.
Dorian R — Google review
This restaurant offers a delightful setting reminiscent of bygone eras, and the cuisine similarly reflects traditional practices. While the food may present a different flavor profile than what we, as Asians, are typically accustomed to, it is not necessarily a negative reflection, simply a distinct experience. The true highlights are undoubtedly the restaurant's ambiance and the staff, who are elegantly attired in traditional clothing.
Tony C — Google review
An unforgettable, immersive medieval dining experience! The moment you enter, the middle-age atmosphere is palpable and truly impressive. It's not just the decorations; the food taste also contributes significantly to the feeling. I highly recommend the tender deer fillet, the distinct honey beer, and the hearty dark bread. Although the cuisine isn't Michelin-level perfection, it absolutely nails the authenticity of the medieval theme. The service was phenomenal. Waiters and waitresses in traditional clothes were always helpful, patiently introducing the menu, and making personalized recommendations as if they were dining with you. P.S. A special shout-out to the unique design of the men's room—worth a peek! 🤣
Jorvik Z — Google review
We loved this restaurant! Fresh mushroom soup, fresh bread and Glögi (hot spiced wine) Delicious! The staff were outstanding, fun and personable. The period clothing and the medieval atmosphere were intriguing. Definitely stop in when you're are in Old Town Tallinn.
Postcards S — Google review
The main thing about this restaurant is the old world charm. They have created a great experience with retaining the decor, the food to follow and good service. However, since Tallin is mainly catering to tourists, this was the only place during our trip to Finland-Tallin, the server asked us for a tip. Food is overpriced for sure, but I suppose if you are looking to experience something different and eat some unique meat like deer and bear, this is the place to visit

Tallinn Town Hall is a Gothic building located in the center square of the medieval Old Town. It has a rich history dating back to the 13th century and offers concerts and tours for visitors. The area surrounding the town hall is filled with narrow streets and various historical landmarks, such as the Old Thomas weather vane atop the building since 1530.
Visited with hubby and teenage daughter. Spent longer in there than we thought we would. Found it interesting but we're history nerds. Others, probably nipped round quicker. Good view across old town square from top floor. Didn't climb the tower - too many stairs!
Paula S — Google review
The Tallinn town hall is your typical museum setup. Info about the old town since the 1300s. Not much to say about that. The tower was pretty cool though. Got to go up to the bell and see the city from there. Not sure if the €20 was worth it.
Chad C — Google review
A top stop! Lovely preserved old building with cool stuff and good descriptions in English. Plenty to see, it’s not just a reading experience. The floor just under the roof is super cool. If you’re up to it, climb the tower for a unique view. Note the climb is very steep, can be very crowded and may have a long.
Cynthia C — Google review
Most people only talk about the Tallinn Town Hall for its beautiful building, but there is so much more to it. Can you imagine that it has a museum inside? I didn’t know until I went there. I like the museum because it talks about a special street, the “Pikk Street”, in Danish this would translate to “dick street”. Good thing Estonia isn’t Danish anymore. But funnily enough this reminded me of all the Dicks Streets back in Luxembourg. A strangely comforting thought. There are many places to sit down in the museum, which is a criteria I always use to rate the visitability of a museum. Especially because I have a friend who loves to sit down. The more my friends can sit, the happier I am. We also found out about the Estonian fascination with weather vanes. They’re not just regular weather vanes, they are enormous. You can really not miss them on top of churches or in this case inside the museum. Now coming back to the start, people may admire the view of the building but from the museum you have a beautiful view onto the city. It really is a must visit.
Baptiste J — Google review
This old town feels like stepping straight into a fairy tale – except instead of a dragon, you’re most likely to bump into a tourist wielding a selfie stick. Narrow cobblestone streets twist between colorful medieval buildings, and no matter which way you go, the town hall finds a way to peek at you from somewhere – like it’s playing hide and seek, and always winning. The atmosphere takes care of itself. While you're sipping coffee or nibbling on a local pastry, a horse-drawn cart might gently roll by, and someone in medieval costume could pop around the corner. For the tourists? For fun? Or maybe just a lost time traveler. Who’s to say. Town hall itself is a Gothic masterpiece from the 14th century, and it still holds court with pride. If Tallinn does one thing exceptionally well, it's blending history with charm. And if you find yourself taking photos of the same tower from every imaginable angle… trust me, you’re not alone. This place does that to people.
Michael N — Google review

Beer House is a renowned brewpub in Tallinn, Estonia that has been crafting its own unique non-filtered and unpasteurized beers since 2002. The establishment uses high-quality raw materials to create their seven distinct beers, with Austrian malt and German yeast and hops. The interior of the pub resembles an Austrian bierkeller, featuring long wooden tables and large beer glasses. Despite the tourist-heavy atmosphere, the beer is highly praised, especially the Medovar Honey amber ale.
The decor makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with an interesting display of stuffed animals at the entrance. There was no host, so we just chose a table and the waitress brought us menus. We ordered the herring and egg sandwich, the salmon plate, and the ribs — the salmon and ribs were my favorites. The hamburger was huge. Overall, everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

After a long day of driving, we ended up here for a beer and some dinner. The atmosphere is great, and I love all the eclectic items on the wall and placed around the room. The food was pretty good and I highly recommend you try their darker beer.

Town Hall Square is a historic square in Tallinn, dating back to the 15th century. It is a vibrant hub hosting markets, concerts, and the annual Christmas tree festivities. The well-preserved medieval square is surrounded by charming independent shops and outdoor cafes, making it a perfect spot for open-air concerts and festivals such as Old Town Days.
Town Hall Square (Raekoja plats). Total heart of the Old Town. Cobblestones, colorful medieval merchant houses, the giant Gothic Town Hall itself it's pure storybook stuff, especially in winter with the massive Christmas market and tree. Perfect for people-watching from a cafe terrace (though drinks are pricey). Gets packed with tourists midday and in summer – can feel a bit like a theme park. Worth braving the crowds though. The atmosphere is unique, especially early morning or late evening when it's quieter. Look for the dragon waterspouts on the Town Hall and the weathervane Old Thomas. Essential visit. Pure medieval charm is undeniable. Grab a coffee, soak it in, imagine the centuries of history. Just expect crowds and tourist prices at the cafes. Don't miss it, but maybe avoid peak hours.

Nestled within the charming Kadriorg Park in Tallinn, the Mikkel Museum is a hidden gem that showcases an impressive collection of over 600 art pieces. Established by Estonian collector Johannes Mikkel, this museum stands out as Estonia's only state institution dedicated to a private collection. The exhibits feature Western graphic art and exquisite Chinese porcelain, all gathered during a time when private ownership was frowned upon under Soviet rule.
can't say a lot about the museum, however Ülo Sooster exhibition was quite cool. It would be there until beginning of 2025z. Take your time and visit the place

Middle size miseum with privat collections excibitions. First floor was for temporary excibition and second floor was for permanent one. Permanent excibition consists of art, furniture, gravure, glass and porcelain collections. Highly recommend to buy combined ticket with Kadriorg palace and Kumu art museum.

The Estonian Theatre and Music Museum is a small but well-done museum with information on Estonian musical, literary and cultural heritage. The staff were very nice and the guide invited on an express tour was very useful. The museum is great for adults and children to get a general understanding of how theatre and music are important in Estonia.
Interesting executions, beautiful historic place.

Interesting to learn about famous Estonian musicians and theatre performers. Favourite parts: Tallinn and Helsinki Theatre Actors annual football match, some hybrid musical instruments made by some ingenious inventors. Don’t miss the walk up the tower. There’s a combo ticket with Estonian History Museum in the Great Guild Hall so if you’re planning on both it works out better. 18 euros for both when I went.

It is a wonderful museum! This is so well presented, really interesting and the staff are really friendly. Thank you for allowing me to try your beautiful piano!

Had a nice time inside. The place is small, but you can play with different instruments. If you know how to open and play a piano, you can use the Estonia concert piano in the exhibition room.

Really great use of an older building repurposed for conferences, workspaces and events. Super fun and interesting atmosphere, and a really great space for literally any activity.

Was here for the TCBW (Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend), and the venue was one of the best I have ever been to for a beer festival. The stands and organization could have been better, but that is with the organizer themselves. The venue is amazing!

Fantastic place for conferences. The halls are spectacular, vintage energy building converted into a conference center. Very convenient layout, seems compact but accommodates many people. Probably the best conference center I have been in many years.

Modern and cool location for hosting different events. Been here multiple times, but over the years it has expanded and improved significantly. There are multiple floors and plenty of area to host hundreds of people. It has everything for any types of events, but it maybe difficult to navigate for some people. The only downside is that there is no free parking for a car, but there are plenty of paid parking options.

Mustamäe Elamus Spa, situated in Mustamae, Estonia, is the largest spa and sauna center in the country. With 13 unique saunas to explore, it offers a day of relaxation and wellness. The staff at the reception are friendly and accommodating. The 21+ ticket includes a bathrobe and towel for convenience. Guests can enjoy food and drinks at the bar using their wristbands.
We arrived right after opening on Monday and it was perfect timing. The place was really quiet and relaxing. Later the place received the normal volume, but you still had plenty of space in the pool area and in the over 20 saunas. I would highly recommend this spa to everyone!
Markus — Google review
We visited this spa with our family on Sunday evening around 7-9 pm. It was very crowded. Despite this, for instance, the food queue in the spa area was short, and we received our food quickly. However, all the pools and saunas were quite overcrowded, so we couldn’t really relax, and the saunas weren’t hot. Since we have visited both before and after the renovation (when the children’s area was upgraded), I’d say the situation was better before. The children’s area is now quite cramped with little space. For those seeking a more peaceful spa experience, it might be worth considering Ring Spa in Õismäe.

You must go❣️ The sauna rituals are very unique, a bucket list experience✅️ The slides are great to feel like a little kid again, try the dual one, super cute with a friend🤝 The 21+ side is very nice and relaxing with an awesome pool area 👸🥂

A truly fantastic spa with an incredibly diverse selection of saunas and pools. Children have also been taken into account in the wonderful children's area with three larger water slides. The food was also really good and high quality. What I liked most about this spa is that everyone has been thought of here and there is definitely something for everyone here.
Ritva L — Google review
Great spa, has wonderful food, different activities to do, has three sections, the big pool, mostly reserved for sport and wellness swimming. The main area, with most of the saunas, the outside area for relaxing, kids area, and the eating zone, and then the 21+ area, reserved for adults and perfect for anyone that just wishes to relax in peace. Prices are a bit high, but still affordable, and you are accommodated with anything you'd need. Great for both families and couples alike!

Great for kids and family. You can spend whole day there. They have many rooms for picnic. Very good facility. Many great activities available for kids. Mostly suitable for 3+ years old. Mine was 2+ and he was able to take benefit of the entire facility. But great indeed.
Siddiqui A — Google review
Place was great, facilities were fun and clean. Only problem was a lot of unsupervised kids (by their parents) causing some disturbances like cutting lines or jumping in front of other people.
Alia E — Google review
Very average trampoline park. My kids love to visit local trampoline parks as we travel. They had high hopes for this one listed as the largest in Europe. Not sure who is measuring, but it doesn’t feel particularly large. Nor is there anything particular special about this. Just a standard trampoline facility. A bit crowded on a rainy, summer Tuesday. Didn’t see any staff monitoring.
Katie N — Google review
The place was decent. I sprained my ankle there 3 weeks ago and I was given little support, just some ice. My friends had to bring me away from the trampoline sections by lifting me, the staff called the ambulance in the end but still, if I was there alone it would have been much harder to get help. Don't jump with others in the same trampoline if you are not athletic. Aside from that part i had fun.
Giuseppe A — Google review
Nice to be here with children who find many interesting activities, namely all kinds of trampolines, climbing hills, and grounds. There are multiple tables with hockey or football settings. If you order a room for celebrating a birthday, it's possible to order on-site pizza, twists of bread, or a mix of fruits/vegetables. The superior view of the city from the 4th floor is a great bonus. However, it's advisable to bring tea or coffee packs, as the coffee machine at the cafe might be broken for an indefinite time. At least in the rented rooms, electric kettles are available.
Ivan K — Google review
My child’s favorite playground, and as a result I have visited it repeatedly. When it first opened, with its variety and the different climbing and jumping opportunities it offered for children, it was a fantastic place to visit. On rainy days it is extremely crowded. There are many unsupervised children who often do not consider others and do not respond when asked to behave. Unfortunately, there is no staff in the hall to maintain order. Sadly, the place is always dirty, both because of careless visitors and the lack of cleaning effort from the staff. By now it is quite worn out and tired, and would need a proper renovation (or deep cleaning).
Raido H — Google review
If only this had existed when I was 10. For €6, a 3-year-old and 30-year-old had 2 hours of non-stop fun today. We came in at 13:40 so we pretty much had the place to ourselves and we liked everything from the trampolines to the ice cream to even the bathrooms.
Lauri E — Google review
Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun day! You can buy tickets at the counter or online. They have All-day ticket too, so you can play all day long 😆 come early! This is a great place for kids and adult. (Would be much more fun if adult come by group) A bit disappointed for the Bang Bang car section. The photos show in the official Webpage is a big space but when we get there, it's so small and the battery of the car feel like not charge full enough. #Because you can feel the car was fast and powerful when the game start, but after 2mins, you can feel the battery like getting low and the car is slower than before# Well, its still fun but would be better if they improve the battery quality or the charging hours. The place is big and clean. The playground is a good one too. 👍 Trampoline section is so much fun. Highly recommend that. You can also arrange birthday party or annual party here too. They have so many rooms and great view from windows too. There is a counter which selling some hot foods and beverages. And clean spaces lockers room too. Well, looking forward for great improvement ,that's why I rate 4 stars for now. Definitely will come back for more fun.

The Estonian Film Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of film-making in Estonia. It has a decent permanent exhibition about the process of filmmaking, and also has interactive exhibits with various film props and costumes. There is also a shop inside with books and DVDs about film-making.
I was not sure about visiting this museum as I know nothing about Estonian films. However, I had a bit of time to waste, so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did as it was actually quite interesting, and the artifacts themselves were worth a look even though the film link meant nothing to me. Some exhibits were interactive, which was fun. You can purchase a ticket just for this museum or a joint one to Maarjamae Castle. It is free to enter with a Tallinn card. There was a small cafe and a small souvenir area next to the ticket desk. The museum is wheelchair accessible.

A Saturday afternoon visit to the Estonian Film Museum and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a nice exhibition with lots of interactive stages and it is set up in a very logical way. The student tickets are 6€ and adult 8€ and also has a wheelchair access. There is also a small cafe and a free wardrobe. The only bit that could be improved is the parking, as there is not much room. The visit took us almost 2 hours, but if you are up for more, then right next to it is the Estonian history museum.

City Sightseeing Tallinn Hop on Hop off is a great way to see the city and its attractions. The tours are well organized and include a variety of interesting commentary. There is also a double decker bus which makes it very convenient for travelers with children.
Exploring Tallinn by hop-on hop-off bus was a great experience. The routes cover both the medieval Old Town and the modern parts of the city, giving a well-rounded impression. Everything was easy and convenient – clear timetables, punctual buses, and plenty of interesting stops. The audio guide added lots of facts we wouldn’t have known otherwise. A very enjoyable way to see the city. Good value for the money – there are two different routes: one about an hour long and the other almost about 75 minutes.
John S — Google review
The red line bus was a few minutes late which was okay, it did go its in intended route as well. The ride was interesting with plenty of interesting views, but the windows rattled loud, it was bumpy and uncomfortable; let alone pretty chilly! The price was far I suppose too, would still recommend!
GuyWithACameraNJ — Google review
We took the red line from terminal D and paid 30€ each for 24h. It started about 9:00 in the morning and one round was finished about 9:45 am. We wanted to change to the green line but it only has two or three times on that day… very cumbersome so we could only go with the red line. I learned something with the audio, the pronunciation regarding German, English and Chinese is good, however the technique is the cheapest you could get: you select your language but you hear all other language (softly) in the background (crosstalk). I think that is pretty weird. Summary I took these hop-on-hop-off branded busses in other cities (Athens, Barcelona) and was satisfied with the service. Changing between lines in other cities was always smooth. Here in Tallinn as described above. Here I think that 30€ is too little value for the money. P.S.: Receipt for reference and the lawyers that will try to delete this opinion.
Michael K — Google review
It was Saturday, 17/08/2024. On the timetable there were 3 times for each stop during the day. I couldn't see much because of the time pressure. However, not a bad way to see the city quickly from the top of the bus as the weather was nice 🙂
Alaa S — Google review
The biggest tourist trap in town. Pricy ticket with very few rounds of bus everyday. If you are in Tallin for a day trip, chances are you would only take it once, or you calculate the timetables while have no fun enjoying the city/food. We ended up take Bolt three times to hit all the sites afterwards and the taxi money combined are way less than what we paid for the two ppl one-day tickets. Do not buy unless you have entire day to kill and in no hurry to go back to the cruise.

One notable building is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a stunning Russian Orthodox church constructed during Estonia's time under the Russian Empire. Cafe Maiasmokk, a historic coffee house dating back to 1910, is a must-visit in Tallinn's Old Town. Its classic charm reminiscent of Vienna's coffee houses makes it an institution in the city. The cafe is famous for its hand-painted marzipan angels and adjoins a renowned chocolate shop that should not be missed.
Really liked the atmosphere and the vintage setting they have got going on. The menu was limited but there was a good selection of cakes. Service can get a little slow on rush hours or if there are a lot of tourists but otherwise it's calm and well maintained. Was good to see the history of the place still being respected. As far as the actual food goes, nothing really remarkable, but it was definitely delicious. Overall a visit worthy place

Visited Kohvik Maiasmokk, Tallinn's oldest café, established in 1864. The atmosphere is steeped in history, with a beautifully preserved interior that transports you back in time. The coffee, while a bit lighter than what I'm accustomed to, aligns with local preferences. It's smooth and pairs well with their selection of pastries. A unique feature is the Kalev Marzipan Museum Room, offering insights into the art of marzipan making and its history. If you're in Tallinn, Kohvik Maiasmokk offers a delightful blend of history and flavor, making it a must-visit spot.

A Sweet Slice of History in Tallinn I had the pleasure of visiting Café Maiasmokk during my trip to Tallinn, and it truly felt like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, with beautiful historic décor that makes you want to linger. I ordered a slice of cake, and it was simply delicious—light, fresh, and full of flavor. The Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is a significant cultural site in Estonia, where every five years, thousands of singers from numerous choirs come together to perform traditional anthems. This event has been a part of Estonian culture since 1869 and has grown into a major cultural gathering. The festival takes place in a sprawling grassy bowl with a modernist shell-like structure designed by Alar Kotli in 1959, providing an impressive setting for the performances.
I went for a concert and the place is beautiful! It's huge but there's a slope so you can see the stage from anywhere. There are also paved passages that people keep free until the main concert so it's easy to go to get drinks/food even after securing a good spot. The only downside is that for events with lots of people there aren't as many toilets as there should be so there are long queues. The food selection has a bit of everything and they check really well jackets and bags and even pat down to make sure no one brings food/drinks in.
Laura R — Google review
Had honestly the best concert experience of my life here. The facilities are just absolutely on par. Everything looks very clean and well kept. The street food vendors catered to everyone and loved the separate DJ canteen section with the outdoor seating. The food was delicious. By far the best and freshest churros I have ever had in my life. The selection of drinks were okay too. I’d maybe add one more vendor specializing in just customised sodas and soft drinks. I loved also that the concert towers were people of all ages and whilst still being so polite in the crowd. There was a lot of smaller children and I think this venue I a great place for the entire family to have a fun live music and food experience. You can also walk from the city center along the waterfront path which is amazing. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone that loves live music and street food.

Went to see ACDC in July 2025. Nice venue but they oversold the concert by a good 10,000. The audience was packed and there were hundreds to thousands watching from behind the trees. Wait time for beer and merch was 45 min. Totally mismanaged.
Edward W — Google review
Good organization of events and very helpful staff. During my visit it was super rainy, but stuff was helpful and helped me to find hot coffee and food! It helps a lot. Sound are powerful, big screens helps to see everything even if you far away from stage!

Great place in terms of location and facilities. 65.000 spectators were served well in ACDC concert. In addition, this place has a major symbolic role in Estonia's independence from Soviet regime.

The grounds were well laid out and signposted. Even the toilets were good quality and well managed. It had been raining for days, so very soggy underfoot. We sat in benches close to the stage. They were labelled clearly with space between to walk. Overall well managed area with personnel helping to move lots of people through quickly.

One of the most culturally significant spots in Tallinn is the Song Festival Grounds, or Laulupidu. I've had the pleasure of visiting this place in both the summer and winter, each time discovering a unique charm. It's a symbol of Estonian national pride, and I can only imagine the electric atmosphere when 15,000 singers and 100,000 spectators come together to sing and dance. Plus, it's conveniently located near Kadriorg Park and the scenic coastal walk path leading to Pirita. The cultural richness of this visit is genuinely something to be appreciated—a place to visit.

Big open festival grounds. Was there on the 24.07.2025 to see ACDC. Great effects and good sound. I don't know if the band has any say on it but the water fountains had way too long lines. The bag storage also seemed really primitive and unsafe. Still had fun thanks to ACDC, but not my favorite place.

The Danish King's Garden, located on the slopes of Toompea Hill, is a small and picturesque area that holds historical significance as the birthplace of the Danish flag. The garden features haunting statues of faceless monks, Ambrosius, Claudius, and Bartholomeus, who are part of a legend about divine intervention during a battle. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy stunning city vistas and observe medieval town walls and defensive towers.
Really convivial space thanks to the busking guitarist. Great views and history. Signage all around explaining the significance of the architecture! I will say the statues are rather creepy 🤣
Felicity A — Google review
This is a beautiful Garden with many points of interest. It is the place to climb part of the old city wall, though it is a bit pricey. It also has 3 cool looking statues reminiscent of lords of the rings ghosts. This is also the place that one can walk down to the lower town area. There are many interesting stages to explore. Overall, it is a great place to visit.
C N — Google review
Such a beautiful place, easily one of my favourite spots in the city, especially now with the lovely autumn colours. A guided tour through Tallinn is recommended so that they can explain you the meaning of the faceless monks’ statues 😉
André M — Google review
Peaceful and charming spot with a touch of history. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the lovely view of the old town walls. A nice place to take a break while exploring Tallinn.

Beautiful spot near the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Worth checking out!

I visited it as part of a walking tour, very nice, the place where the first danish flag appeared. Definitely worth taking a guided tour to learn the history of the place

The place is known as Danish king garden. This also has a nice view. Nice garden to sit peacefully.

Beautiful viewpoint of the city, with stunning walls and towers, very peaceful area to sit and relax in the tranquil setting, with seat to chillout and relax and take in the views old and new of Tallinn.

Martsipanigalerii Marzipan Gallery is a charming and unique cafe located in the old city of Tallinn. Despite its small size, it offers an authentic experience showcasing the history of Tallinn Marzipan through various displays and sweet treats. Visitors can witness experts creating marzipan masterpieces using edible paint, purchase a variety of marzipan-based foods, and even try their hand at making their own marzipan creations.
Super high quality marzipans, they have marzipan sculpting workshops for group activity, museum section is well worth a visit. A mini wonderland for kids and adults alike.
L.R. H — Google review
I recently tried the marzipan from this company and I must say, I was blown away! The texture was perfect - not too dry or too moist - and the almond flavour was just right. Each piece was beautifully crafted and looked almost too good to eat. I appreciate that they use high-quality ingredients and take pride in their products. I will definitely be a returning customer and highly recommend this company to any marzipan lovers out there!
Denis M — Google review
This place is a combination between a cake shop, museum, and a martsipan workshop. We signed up with the kids for a workshop on making figurines from martsipan - which was a fun experience for the whole family. The people who run it are quite knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. We also ended up getting a box of sweets after the workshop.
E K — Google review
The Marzipan museum in the basement is impressive. The young lady who was selling Marzipan was very polite and gentle. You could taste all flavors before buying. Everything was excellent.
Kyriakos M — Google review
This place should be called as museum, not that kohvik in city center. And it’s for free. In the cellar there is a room with different marzipan masterpieces, on the first floor a little coffee with a shop and master-class for learning how to work with marzipan. Very interesting. Also staff will offer you to try different tastes of marzipan for free (classic, pistachio, Christmas with spices and classic but with 40 or 60% of marzipan and less of sugar).
Gin G — Google review
Fun place. Check out the free marzipan room downstairs that has all kinds of cool marzipan figures in miniature to life size. Our family (2 young teens) did the workshop and made our own marzipan figures for 6 euros.
C W — Google review
This is the best marzipan shop in Tallin. You can taste them before bying
Didier S — Google review
Seems Estonia is famous for their marzipan. This little gem allows patrons (mostly pediatric possibly with parents) to mold and paint their own edible marzipan. Their basement, especially, has marzipan creations including a bust with a striking resemblance to American comedian Eddie Murphy and the current president. They offer samples of their marzipan and even have an individualized chocolate covered orange flavir that is out of this WORLD! I'll need to visit earlier in the day as they were sold out of the undipped orange "blocks" of orange marzipan.

The Viimsi Open Air Museum, located just 20 minutes from Tallinn by car, offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of a historic coastal village from the 19th century. This open-air museum preserves an 1820s farmhouse and fishermen's cottages, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the daily life of villagers from that era. It's a perfect blend of history and modernity, reflecting Estonia's cultural identity while embracing contemporary culture.
Seaside, Goats. Old Houses, what else shall we ask for? Definitely recommend visiting. You can learn about Estonian traditions. You can also touch the animals.
Huixin Z — Google review
Small museum, beautifully situated directly at the shore of the Baltic Sea. About half a dozen houses from the early 19th and 20th centuries, representing the living conditions of the coastal folk of the area in that time period. Many small fishing boats in various conditions, and also many fishing and seafaring tools. And they have four sheep that calmly graze between the houses = and actually they make socks and mittens out of the sheep's wool, which they sell in the lovely gift shop. Surely not the most spectacular museum in the world, but if you are interested in how people lived a couple of hundred years ago, thi place is well worth the visit. Oh, and the people there are awfully nice and will have a chat with you (in English) and explain everything you want to know.
Axel T — Google review
Ticket is cheap, maybe because the place is rather small and remoted. However the atmosphere was so peaceful and non-touristic. Learned a lot about the area’s history and lifestyle. This is a great place for kids and alternative travellers.
Minh L — Google review
Great Museum under open air situated on the coast with an awesome view of the Tallinn Bay. Multiple buildings of a fisherman's village from the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are perfectly restored. An accurately restored and well-preserved fisherman's/merchant's wooden boat from the 18th/19th centuries, on which many generations sailed across the Gulf of Finland, is a unique exhibit of this museum. The stories of families that lived and worked hard here centuries ago are very educational and inspiring.

A well-organized open air museum, €3 for entrance, 40mins from Tallinn city center by bus, not big but definitely worth a visit🥰

Fantastic , unrealistically beautiful spot in Viimsi . You can just feel how the world slows down and you can just take a moment to feel the beauty of Estonia. Specially if you catch the perfect sunset with live music happening at the same time. 👌🏻

The museum was actually a real village place at the sea, as opposed to Rocca Al Mare Open Air Museum. The area is pretty small, so there's not as much to see. Not worthy to drive so far to see this little.

Military Museums
Eesti Sõjamuuseum / Estonian War Museum offers a fascinating exploration of Estonian military history and conflicts. The museum features comprehensive displays of weaponry, vehicles, and uniforms, allowing visitors to interact with some exhibits. It provides entry-level information for those new to the subject as well as in-depth insights for enthusiasts. Located within easy reach from the city center, it also houses a separate section showcasing vehicle displays.
An excellently curated museum focused on the wars/conflicts affecting the area of Estonia and around about, from the Vikings to today. There is the option to superficially scan the exhibits or spend time reading the more detailed write ups which are in Russian, Estonian and English. There is also a nice audio guide for the smart phone that works well (well it did on mine). On the ground floor there is also an audio visual display (again in various languages) that gives you a synopsis of the four historic periods of conflict in the Estonian region. There is also a nice display of military kit from clubs to modern day fire arms etc.
Seymour F — Google review
Interesting museum with insites of the military history and the wars, occupation that the Estonians had to endure the past centuries. If you know nothing about this part of history and want to know more it is a good place to visit. During my visit bus 174 took me there and back to the centre of Tallinn. The last Russian military finally left in 1994.
Martin S — Google review
This is such a great way to spend the day. There is so much to see, but the high light for me . Is the submarine. I was a 8 year old child again. Will be coming back with my friends just to visit the museum.
Gerryc I — Google review
Very interactive with a lot of stuff to try on and a lot of vehicles to sit in! If you‘re into the history of war and tanks you should definietly check it out! I had an amazing time, one of the best days in my time in Tallinn!
Pablo R — Google review
Great historical exposition, all is in English too. A must in Tallinn.
Nahuel I — Google review
Was a great experience and friendly staff. Also really enjoyed vehicles hangar that had tanks, vehicles and artillery from various time periods included in the pass. Hangar was about 5 minutes walking from museum, but not a problem.
Ild N — Google review
A thoroughly interesting museum, covering Estonian military history and other conflicts further afield. Even for those not particularly interested in military history, plenty of the displays had entry level information, with more detailed information for those more versed in the subject. Can get to the museum with two bus connections from the city centre, which was easy enough. The main museum is located where it says, but they also have a second part with vehicle displays nearby. It's under ten minutes up the hill with a slight incline.
Tom ( — Google review
Such a great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the museum informative and easy to follow. The items displayed were interesting and the overall experience just magnificent. I recommend this museum to everyone, I myself took a foreign friend there to introduce him to our history and the museum left a great impression to him.

Historical landmark
St. Catherine's Passage is a charming and picturesque alleyway in Old Tallinn, named after the adjacent old church. Lined with medieval buildings, it connects Vene to Muurivahe street and offers a magical stroll through centuries-old architecture. The passage is home to workshops and studios where artisans create ceramics, glassware, leather goods, and textiles. Along the path, visitors can admire ancient tombstones that once belonged to various historical organizations.
St. Catherine’s Passage in Tallinn is a captivating slice of medieval charm, and walking through it feels like stepping back in time. This narrow, cobbled street, nestled in the heart of the Old Town, is lined with beautiful stone arches and historical buildings, making it one of the most picturesque spots in the city. What makes St. Catherine’s Passage especially unique is the presence of artists’ workshops tucked along the walkway. Here, local artisans work on traditional crafts like glassblowing, ceramics, and textiles. Visitors can watch the artists at work and pick up one-of-a-kind souvenirs that truly reflect Estonia’s cultural heritage.
Wisanu T — Google review
This is a street that is reminiscent of the medieval merchant street. The beautiful structures and architecture are well preserved to serve as the backdrop for numerous medieval movies such as the 3 Musketeers. The tombstones are also well displayed here on the street walls. A wonderful experience as one stroll through this part of the lower old city.
C N — Google review
It was nice to walk through this picturesque street with stone arches. When we walk here there were lots of people posing so it was hard to take photos. The street is not that long so it is worth walking through here. But I'm not sure that this has to be the first place to stop by in Tallinn.
Gard K — Google review
Has such a ‘wow’ factor. You can really see the history of the place. You simply can’t miss this passage and the surrounding attractions if you’re visiting Tallinn.
Felicity A — Google review
Cool passage through the old town. Recommend stopping by The Headless Chicken for a beer as well.
