I went for Dim Sum today at GreenTown Dim Sum in Ipoh, and it was a really great experience! What makes this place special is that it’s pork-free, so it’s perfect for halal eaters or anyone who avoids pork, including many Indian diners. They offer a wide variety of tasty options made with chicken and prawns, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. If you’re in Ipoh and craving Dim Sum, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The food at this restaurant is really good and worth trying, but I think they need to take better care of the place. The aircon is quite weak, which makes it uncomfortable at times. Service should be faster, and the staff need more training to be better organized. They should also serve all plates at the same time instead of one by one, to give a better dining experience. With some improvements, this place could be excellent.

Finally made it to one of the first halal chinese owned dimsum houses in Ipoh. Not sure how it was when it first opened, but now although they do serve acceptable dimsum and dishes, it is just managing a passable rating with hits and misses. The fillings are sometimes delicious but then let down by the skin, as exampled by the siew mai that had its snow skin broken. I think this can be summarised by the ‘lokek’ in the ingredients, whereby if they do not stinge the food would be over the top. Imagine chinese noodles without any seafood, even a couple of shrimps would have sufficed, and you would get my meaning . Overall, a good place for someone who just started to try out halal chinese yum cha, but for those with an already developed taste would be better to look elsewhere in town. I keep saying my chinese boys in Ipoh would be complaining loudly if they dined here during the meal.

Went to the restaurant around afternoon on Saturday. Not too crowded. We were seating outside at first but the staff quickly suggested a table inside when they saw our baby in stroller. Food: 10/10 We ordered some dim sums, stir fried radish, & cantonese noodle. The dim sums were big compared to other dim sum that i had before and the fillings were really delicious! All other foods were also in big portions. Price: Affordable Personally i think the price was quite cheap compared to other dim sum places. We ordered a lot but the price came at less than rm100. Overall, it was a really great experience dining here! We most likely will come again when we visit ipoh or maybe we will come just to dine here!

Cozy place with big bougainvillae tree, very nice Food : ordered nasi beriyani with fish curry head, sotong, ayam bawang and sayur Taste delicious nasi beriyani, buttery with minimal garam masala's spices, fish curry has spiciness to it, fish head was fresh Sotong a lil bit liat, usual mamak taste Ayam bawang was moist and flavourful, SEDAP LOVE IT!

I had lunch here with my family, but to be honest, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Personally, I feel the nasi kandar I’ve had in Penang is much better .The kuah campur here was quite watery compared to what I’m used to. Maybe it just didn’t suit my taste. The service wasn’t great either. What confused me most was that almost all the tables were marked as reserved, yet no one showed up for hours, and the names on the reserved signs seemed more like jokes. Overall, it just wasn’t a pleasant experience for me.

Just suka suka trying another Salim outlet but maybe my tastebud prefer the other outlet near Yong Suan more. But still good comforting food 😇 After all very clean restaurant, orders also very quick and workers are friendly too. Maybe too small so if come with larger pax may need to reserve table.

There are a few Nasi Kanda in Ipoh. This is probably one of the good one. This is not my first choice actually. But, there isn’t much queue during lunch time, so I will just go for it. Ordered mutton, fried fish, cuttle fish fried chicken and papa. Mutton is tender, fried chicken & fish not too dry, cuttlefish is good. Well flavoured curry complete the meals! $28 with a drink, consider average?

Outstanding! Great food, great service, kind owner. Ate here 6 years ago and it was amazing, ate last week (multiple times), still amazing. Family loves the Roti Cenai and chicken lollipops. Very clean, good prices, you won't miss on this one. 10/10!

Food ie. Fish Curry exquisite. A bit sad that the fish was only half of a fish head . Price of food was considered a bit expensive as it is only half a fish head but it was ok. It was kepala ikan kerapu. Service was good too. Used plates were taken away as soon as we finished using them. Ambience was fine, calming and surrounded by greenery of plants. Restaurant cannot be seen as the entrance is mostly covered by plants, trees.

I love chicken rice and am very much a Chicken Rice enthusiast but I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here. Plate of chicken rice was RM9, extra rice RM4. The chicken rice was not good, below average. Rice and soup was very distasteful, luckily chicken was good. The biggest redflag was the cleanliness. My table was beside stacks of dirty plate and food waste. Stacks of dirty plate and heaps of food waste also literally in middle of restaurant and right next to the clean plates and food area. Table, floor and wall also dirty, took a peek at the kitchen behind and it looked like a workshop. The guy cutting the chicken didn't wear a sanitary head cap, his hair might fall into the chicken. The rice cooker pot wasn't close and exposed to air. Staff were so disorganised and looked like they didn't wanna be there, not attentive and not friendly. Finished my food quickly so I could leave asap, restaurant was so sad, need renovation, so gloomy. How la Muslim do business like this, as Muslim also am ashamed.

This place came in as among the best food in Ipoh in some website. Not so sure why they emphasized the "halal" there, is hard to get halal nasi ayam in Ipoh? I'm from klang valley and as a person who like to eat nasi ayam especially hainan style, the taste is definitely below average compared to some nasi ayam in KL with a much cheaper price. The rice is tasteless and overcooked until its "kembang". The chicken is dry and a bit hard. The soup taste overloaded with ginger. The soy souce is so so. Its quite disappointing and it doesn't make sense this restaurant end up in some food review sites. If you are coming from KL and know the taste of nasi ayam chee meng or nasi ayam hailam, this is far from that. The star given only because the service was fast (maybe no other customer at the time i arrived) and also because of easy parking in front of the shop.

It appear in suggested food in Ipoh for 2022 in website. But sorry to say this is not the best chicken rice. The chicken is dry, rice is dry, and soup is tasteless. Cannot represent for Ipoh Perak state. Chicken is significant every state in Malaysia, like Malacca you will find rice ball chicken rice. In Klang Valley you can find crispy chicken rice. Ipoh is famously hainanese chicken rice and its bean sprouts. Why is recommended food in Ipoh???

This is my childhood restaurant, my go-to restaurant. But today i am a bit dissapointed of the service i had and the ayam. The chicken of mine a bit small like half of the usual serving. And the service have a lot things to improved such as greet the customers and please smile often!

Nice nasi ayam in ipoh, indeed legendary.. Run back earlier modern perak, tastinees keep well since then.. Always ask for double chicken portion, goes well with chilies provided.. Ask also kaki ayam soup, always hotsell here...

Quite a long queue but not so long waiting time. The environment was good, the ambience and the lighting were great not to forget about the fast and approachable staffs (some quite friendly too✋🏻🤚🏻). Talking about the food; I had NG Kampung which was SO GOOD and I didn’t not expected a good fried rice from this kind of place. The homemade fries were delicious and fresh, lychee kang was amazing too. Pizzas topping were great but the base could’ve been better I suppose. The only complaint was for fried chicken set which was expensive yet tastes so disappointing, even had better from mere pasar malam. Overall rating is 8.5/10 definitely worth it and would recommend 👍🏻.

Doesn’t seem like welcoming because staff kinda ignored us. Being arranged at outdoor seating area but place was hot and quite a number of mosquitoes. Chairs were not comfortable. Food just mediocre. Quickly left after finished our food as the experience here was not good.

The Chocolate Float didn’t really hit the spot, kinda disappointing. The Green Tea was just okay, nothing special. The Nasi Goreng Kampung was alright, not bad. But the star of the night? The Grilled Chicken Full Platter — portion and taste were spot on. Worth a repeat? Yeahhh Tip: come early to avoid waiting and the long queue.

quite a lousy experience. the food was not worth the wait or the price, had to wait for almost 30 minutes. the chicken grill tasted off, portion was small and very dry. the black pepper sauce was too strong, completely overpowered everything and honestly killed the mood to eat. the chicken katsu was also disappointing, using instant flour, very dry and paired with the same sauce that didn’t taste good at all. at the very least they should serve it with mayo or chili sauce. the pizza was the only thing that turned out okay. staff were not attentive. overall, not worth the price and the waiting. definitely not a place i’d come back to, though maybe the pizza is worth trying once.

1st time try dine in here for dinner. Everything good and great just a little bit crowded due to coffee event at the premisses. The food really tasteful with affordable price. Next time will try other dishes especially their western and pizza.

A halal fusion restaurant. Tried their pizza and it was ok. Son liked the fried chicken chop. But I think the best was Nasi Goreng Kampung. Flavorful with spicy feel. May be a bit spicy for some. Mee goreng mamak was nice too. Price was affordable too. Nice atmosphere whether indoor or outdoor. I prefer indoor as it tends to rain in the evenings.

I think this is the only good place in Ipoh but very crowded and their service is very slow, ordered at 8pm received food around 8:45 pm. They said pizza menu is not available anymore but I could see other people coming after us and getting pizza :(

Tried Assam House Ipoh for dinner. Honestly, the food was just okay. I had high expectations for their curry assam fish, but it turned out pretty average. Some of the other dishes were decent, but overall the taste didn’t really stand out. The restaurant itself is comfortable with plenty of space, and service was fine. I’m not too sure what the concept is here. It feels like a mix between Thai and Nyonya. Still, it’s not a bad spot for a casual meal, just not as impressive as I expected.

A beautiful hidden gem of Ipoh that's been around for decades. Halal and very delicious food. Everything on the menu is superb. Service is very friendly, patient and swift. Warm and welcoming environment. Love the art wall decors. Easy parking. Becoming a regular spot for us.

The restaurant is quite easy to find. Ample parking space and the ambience inside the restaurant is also good. The foods are really scrumptious. The waiting time is just nice. The service and explanation from the waiter/waitress are also nice. Recommended if you come to Ipoh😊.

Lamb chop 1/10, fish and chip 5/10, creamy butter chicken 7/10. The worst is lamb chop because it's very dry and not delicious at all. The creamy butter chicken is okay but too sweet for me. I am very disappointed with all the food however the service and environment are the best.

Dropped by Pak Cik Wong for lunch around 12:30pm. The place wasn’t too crowded at that time, which was nice, and my food was served pretty quickly. Taste-wise, it was alright nothing to shout about, just your standard meal. What stood out (in a not-so-great way) was the floor staff. They seemed more focused on chatting among themselves in one corner rather than attending to customers. Prices were reasonable, though. Just a heads-up: parking might be a bit of a hassle during office hours. Overall, a decent spot if you’re nearby and need a quick bite, but don’t expect anything too impressive.

Tasty simple food in Cool, Clean environment away from the heat outdoors. 2 Rice with 1 piece of chicken and 1 vegetable side dish each, 1 kasturi lime asam boi drink. Total RM18.80. One Wall decorated with ‘tudung makanan’ and small light green painting. Space well compartmentalised; Drinks Section, hand basin, giving a clean and structured look. Feel comfortable to eat here. Forgot to take photos as busy eating.

Good as always. Price has increased of course but that’s acceptable to keep up with the inflation. Still one of the cheapest in ipoh town. Full of flavour, the spices just spot on. Since most people eat with hands, hand soap usually doesn’t last. They even have big surau for the men.

Tried nasi vanggey for the 1st time and it was great. The kuah is just nice and sedap and my sensitive tummy can tolerate it 😅 Went there early sunday morning being the 1st customer of that day. Had regular breakfast there while waiting for the nasi to be ready. Price is still reasonable. Overall this is the highlight of my Ipoh trip with my siblings. Large eating area. The taste is just like the original with it's chili sambal trademark. Just that during our time there at noon, the ABC and cendol not available. Parking also easy at shop lots opposite of the restaurant.

For Chinese dishes offer here … not tasty cannot compare to standard elsewhere. A classic old-school Chinese kopitiam with great local food at affordable prices. The atmosphere brings back memories — simple, nostalgic, and full of character. Tried the chee cheong fun, char kway teow, loh bak and curry mee — all were excellent. It’s no surprise this place is so well-known. A must-visit if you want to experience authentic Ipoh vibes.

Super popular coffee shop. My favorite food got to be prawn noodles soup, laksa and lor bak. Char kwey tiao also delicious. Coffee is good also but must request less sweet. Prawn noodles aunty is pretty and very friendly.

I’ve visited this spot for breakfast twice, both times around 8 am, and it was not too busy, so we simply walked right in. The service and atmosphere here is typical of casual eateries (kopitian) in Malaysia. Please note when I left there were a few families lining up to get in. During my first visit, I tried the Asam Laksa. It may have looked plain (I didn’t take a picture), but it was bursting with flavor! I couldn't resist coming back for a second visit to sample the Hokkien Mee (also known as prawn mee or mee udang). This time, I made sure to snap a photo before diving in. What’s great about this Hokkien Mee is that it’s made with our Muslim friends in mind, so there’s no pork in it. I genuinely think the flavor competes with some of the best I've tasted in Penang (I am from Penang)! The portion size was generous, and it looked fantastic too. Overall, I had a lovely experience at this place. Thanks for reading about my breakfast adventures!

This kopitiam really got the Malaysian feel, can see Chinese, Malay, Indian all sit together makan, very happening. The chee cheong fun quite nice, laksa also not bad got that pineapple taste, curry mee ok-ok la, quite lemak. Only thing a bit turn off is the drink price, small teh panas already RM2.80, a bit mahal.

This is the only place where you can find food from all kinds of cuisines — Chinese, Indian, Malay, and even Western, all in one spot. No need to queue this time; we got a seat right away. Today I ordered prawn chee cheong fun, fried kuey teow with egg, spicy pan mee, and two hot teas. The taste has stayed the same over the years — only the prices have changed, of course. Went here on 27/2/25 Good and affordable place to hang out. However, we felt a bit uncomfortable upon arrival—not sure if it was staff or not. Service was minimal, but that’s expected for a roadside stall. Overall, it was okay. The cashier was friendly and helpful with menu recommendations.

My mom and I went, and let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed! The Mee Kicap here? Spot on. It's got that perfect balance of savory and slightly sweet, with bouncy noodles that hit just right. My mom, who's a tough critic when it comes to traditional dishes, gave it her full seal of approval, which means it's legit! It's definitely become one of our go-to places for Mee Kicap, and we'll be back for more. If you want a comforting, authentic plate of Mee Kicap that even your mom would love, this is the place! We heard this restaurant is really famous in Ipoh, so we came. Parking wise, you have to park a little far away.Small shop with limited seatings. If you come on weekends or public holidays, I suspect hahh you will have to queue to order and makan. We came during weekday, the shop had just opened so there was no problem ordering. The foods were ok, mi kicap was bit salty.We ordered yong taufu (it was sedap)mi kari kerang,mee wantan special and mi kicap.

I gave one star because I didn't like the attitude of the staff. I waited 45 minutes for the food to be served. So I asked the staff what took them so long to serve the food while it was just mee kicap and yong tau foo. The staff answered sheepishly 'banyak order. satu orang order 5-6'. I probe further and he said, 'abang pergi lah tengok sendiri kat tempat sedia makanan tu'. No doubt there were many people at the shop, but from my observation it was because everyone was waiting for the food and the kitchen kept tapau food for grab or food panda and leaving behind the customer at shop. Had they have proper order system and kitchen preparation the problem could be quickly fixed. So, if you have impatient personality, it would be better for you to find some other place to eat. On the quality of the food, the mee kicap was average. The mee kicap was served together with some kuah kari. The Yong tau foo sauce was quite good.

Our meal here was really tasty and the service was fast and friendly. Very quiet when we eat here around 6pm but the setting was very pleasant. The nasi kambing pedes and nasi milky stew were both great

I didn't expect much going into the restaurant as i was looking for a light meal. Surprised to find soup menu to be eaten with mantou bread. Ordered the Buttermilk chicken n the taste was heavenly. Laced with curry leaves, accentuated the flavor. I end up filling full that I had to cancel my plans to eat later in the night. Waitress was great n the atmosphere cozy. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Ipoh. Keep it up guys.

The portion is big with reasonable price. Nice food with cozy environment. Seafood lovers must come here and try their lobster🤤 and very very special is “Nasi Ayam Penyet”. SUPERBB DELICIOUS. The serving size and the variety the serve on your plate will wow you. The dishes are reasonably priced. I love the fact that this place is open late and can maintain great and helpful service until the last minute. Good vibes all round and even though it is not your typical Ipoh-style food, it is worth a visit.

My family and I had a celebration and we ordered the King Crab(with sambal). It was superr delicious! You can have the meat from the crab and hold them like chicken drumstick. Good service. Worth it!

Has visited Eight Miles burger previously and wanted to repeat eating their chicken chop, but disappointed with my visit this round. They have their menu written somewhere in the wall of the shop. For that menu, it is written for all menu what kind of meat we prefer to choose, yet was not written anything for the chicken chop menu. We had to order using the QR Code provided. I ordered chicken chop and they serve me with meat (beef) patty. Upon request, the workers did not even bothered about it and walked away. Hope the shop owner and staff can be considered when it comes to non muslim walking in to their shop, and what to serve and not to serve them upon receiving their order. Will definitely not going there again due to their poor services and food tasted average.

The lamb chop was a bit tough and hard to chew, probably overcooked. However, the black pepper sauce was quite good — flavorful and rich. If the meat was more tender, it would have been perfect! The restaurant’s atmosphere was nice, and the service was decent.

This was my first time trying the Spaghetti Carbonara at Eight Miles. Based on the taste, I think the carbonara sauce might be homemade, which I really appreciate. However, as a big fan of spaghetti carbonara, I felt a bit disappointed because the sauce was too watery and the texture tasted quite floury instead of the usual creamy, rich carbonara flavor. When combined with the spaghetti, it felt heavy on the palate rather than smooth and creamy. To be fair, I asked my husband and mother in law to taste it too just in case it was only my preference but they shared the same opinion. Another thing, I requested chili flakes but was given fresh red chilies instead. For me, western dishes like carbonara usually pair better with chili flakes, which would enhance the flavor more appropriately. On the positive side, the price is very affordable, and the portion is generous with sausages, meatballs, and mushrooms enough for 1–2 people. That’s a big plus! Maybe in the future, the restaurant could refine the sauce recipe to get that creamy carbonara texture. Overall, it’s still a nice place with good value, and I might come back to try other dishes like their lamb chop.

Simply one of the best western restaurant around. The atmosphere is calm, with musics softly played behind. The presentation of foods is great. Love the black paper sauce flooding the burger. The price is above average, but not way to expensive. I've set my mind to come again for other kind of dishes.

An average restaurant that serves typical mamak food. Operate 24/7. Absolutely not my first choice. The food is pricey and service is slow. I don't know about other branches but here in Ipoh this restaurant is overrated.

Rather underwhelming visit despite the hype and crowd. The Mi Goreng was unfortunately quite bland, lacking the usual punchy flavours one would expect. To make matters worse, the service was slow including our drinks order. A disappointing experience overall, especially considering the Pelita name usually carries a stronger reputation.

The owner-Zul Yahya is very friendly, the customer service from also good. Only the food service is a bit slow however explained by Zul it is due to shortage of staff and he already apologised for it. The food taste is 4/5 only the bawal fish is overcooked, very dry. So far may be next time can come again for the steamboat.

Reasonable pricing of RM32 per person for adult. Food selection was abit less but it was super fresh. Definitely, I love the steamboat package where I can get the variety of steamboat things, fried rice, noodle, pasta, nasi lemak, ice cream and a lot of drinks' choices. My favourite steamboat gravy is tomyam. The tomyam is so nice. Not too spicy and not too sour. The staff also easy to communicate.

came here for dinner during CNY 2022. The late service was really obvious as the order arrived 30mins after. Maybe it was because holiday season yet the customer should take note on this. Service very bad. Food served really late. Staff lack of some basic servicing. We came at noon for Nasi Bajet, Mee Bandung and Ayam Penyet. Staff should explain what are their menu. We're not from here or repeat customer. Mee Bandung and Ayam Penyet taste so-so. Waiting time almost half and hour eventhough not really crowded with other customer. But, Nasi Bajet (Daging Masak Hitam) really delicious and tasty. Value for money. (See picture). Deserved 5 star for taste, price and portion. Customer service need to be improved. Menu booklet also need to reorganize. I giving 2 star because bad experience on customer service and waiting time.

The owner and the workers are super friendly and nice. It’s located near the flats in Ipoh town. A lot of ppl will come during lunch hour, and the nasi kandar next door crowd was just so-so. It’s famous by the locals and chinese. A lot of chinese dines in there. There’s a variety list of dishes available. For me, the taste was just okay, not that great. BUT everyone has different preferences. I prefer other curry mix. The nyior sambal is spicy. That gives the kick. The curry is not thick, it’s light. The rendang is different than normal malay rendang. Total price for the dish and sirap limau is RM16. You should try different types of nasi kandar in Ipoh, cause none taste the same and everyone has different preferences.

Personal I think it’s worth to visit. Food taste is to my liking. I was so surprised that stall owner speak very well Cantonese.👍🏻 . I will definitely come back again to try their curry fish 🐟 head!

One of the best nasi kandar in Ipoh. Delicious ayam rendang and ayam madu. The owner, he himself is the joki of the restaurant. A friendly and nice person indeed.

Came here on a Sunday morning at 1030am. Already long queue even though it was delayed in opening their shop. About 1040am it opened and queue started moving and got my food after 10-15 minutes. The seating is very cramped and people with families book the seats by sitting there while someone queued. But the shop staff can always find a place to sit as the customers eat and leave, don't linger around. I ordered half rice, fried chicken and sliced fish curry, kuah campur, 3-types vegetables (taugeh-timun-bendi) and sirap limau, total price RM15. Payment by both cash and online transfer (QR code) accepted. Taste wise, curry is mild, no MSG taste, food all fresh, special is their coconut sambal. Customer service is good, don't worry, everyone just enjoying. Be patient.

I especially loved the mango in the curry. It is unique and special. It taste similar to mango chutney Indian style. The ayam rendang is spicy and really suited my taste. As its name, this shop mainly serves laksa sarang. There are few selection of laksa. The taste of fish broth is quite light, salty and watery. However the laksa taste is still there. The portion served match the price. They also serve local and western food. Their staff s are responsive!

Came here on a weekday so not many patrons. The dishes n drinks were quick to arrive. Although the kuah laksa itself was a bit cair, everything else were good. Big portions, kuah was tasty n I loved it, plenty of condiments added n all of these were served in a clay pot bowl. Price too seemed reasonable. My 4 years old daughter had food poisoning after consuming the food over here. Not suitable for children below 12 years old. Anyhow the cheese naan is exceptional. Its really awesome. One and only must try in this shop.

Been visiting this stall for the last 35 years and the taste has been the same. Make sure the try their Mee Goreng with extra Tafu and keropok and the Thick Mee Rebus.

What I like about mee goreng mamak is the wonderful blend of texture and flavour that complement each other, making the dish so satisfying to eat. This is one of the best in town and the secret lies in the special sauce they use to fry the noodles. The thing that strikes me first is the nice aroma of the fried mee. Noodles have that al-dente texture and a fusion of nutty sweet, savoury + spicy flavour with a hint of smokiness. The other ingredients of fried tofu, bean sprouts and boiled potatoes add another dimension of texture to the dish. Squeeze a bit of that sliced lime for a zesty taste. The seller had previously operated from a stall in the coffee shop across the road. Nothing much to describe about the dining space except that it is made for fast food where people come to eat and go. There is hardly a vacant parking spot along the busy road in front of the restaurant. But there are some vacant ones at other roads 50-100 metres away.

My favourite go to for real mamak mee goreng. I mean real when they make it with the actual sauce - which is part of the mee rebus gravy. Someone said the owner chef no more frying but everytime I pass by or makan here for sure it is him and his wife. The staffs are quite friendly and the drinks sedap. The service at Cathay Mee Stall is very slow. Attended the stall today 7 Jul 25. Stall was not even one quarter full and there were not many take away customers. It took 50 minutes for our mee goreng to arrive. This is unacceptably slow. The taste of the mee goreng is not as good as it used to be when the stall was obe third the size. Mee goreng was too wet and parts of it was burnt. All in all not a pleasant experience.

Mee goreng was excellent as expected. Rojak was tasty too. Best to try at odds hours like we usually do, otherwise if you visit during peak hours you will have to wait quite a while as even getting a table was quite a challenge. Parking might be bit of a problem if you visit during peak hours.

A great mee goreng uncle!! The mee goreng were juicy & super delicious because the uncle put some secret sauces. Please come here if you are craving a delicious mee goreng. The taste is the best in Malaysia. But the downside is the cleanliness. The lady boss collect money [cash and coins] with the same pair of hands and use these same pair of hands to handle food without first washing her hands. The boss shall look into better food safety and food hygene. The same pair of hands also used to gorek kepala and gorek hidung. If cleanliness is put as their top priority, I will give a high 5.

Coming down here because we are a big fan of Shellout meal and today is my mother's birthday. I ordered a Shellout meal for 2 and a Sotong Bakar and to our disappointment all of the seafood that we got are old and smelly plus they didn't cook our food right and we can and might get food poisoning. When they take it back, we thought they are going to change it but no, they just heat it up and we are not okay with it. This is the first time for me to drop review here & first time ever cannot tolerate about some food. First time try & definitely last time ! Bihun tomyam not taste tomyam at all because they put some chilli you know that chilli you blender to masak cabai nasi lemak tu? OMG. sucks. Then come asam pedas pari me & my husband sharing. At first he tried, seriously I didn't get what he meant with "pelik la rasa dia". When I try, wahhh that taste ah you can't even swallow. Dah lah tak ada rasa asam pedas langsung kuah dia. Rasa dia pelik because of that claypot hangit ! Macam tak basuh bersih pun ada. When complaint, didn't get any apologize at all. Such a terrible restaurant I'd ever come.

Probably the worst pari asam pedas that I ever tasted. The pari is obviously an old stock that the meat color has change dark and it taste like fridge. Asam pedas does not taste like asam pedas, it sweet but it did has that masam and pedas taste lmao. Not recommended at all.

Loved the aesthetic ambiance and the service was great. I had the rice with chicken, but it didn’t really suit my taste – it was quite bland 🥲. The rest of the dishes were just okay, but the drinks were the highlight! I loved the Watermelon Lychee so much I ordered it twice. As for the price, it’s on the higher side compared to similar restaurants.

Everyone recommended that I try Plan B in Ipoh. I am glad I did. They have been responsible for the gentrification of the area. The restaurant is a warehouse converted tastefully and has a modern feel to it. They only serve Carlsberg beer. Happy to say it was really chilled and felt great after a hike. The salad with seaweed was interesting and flavourful. Though I feel it could have had a few more leaves and ingredients.

The menu is quite nice, big choice of snacks bite western style, pasta styled menu and of course Malaysian dishes. Food was really good and tasty, the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth to stop by!

Food definitely overpriced with the taste We ordered this snack and one sizzling chicken chop Unfortunately I don’t have habit of taking photo so took 2 pieces of pop corn chicken before I decided to take one for review keeping The pop corn chips was RM20 before tax I was thinking it might be the thick cut and filled with pop corn chicken Instead we have normal fries + 4 and half popcorn chicken. Kids took 2 and I took one small tiny pieces before I took this photo And the sizzling chicken chop Unfortunately chop. Just chips and some beans sitting next to each other. Nothing more than one smaller than palm size chicken. RM36 before tax, sauce is super salty I wonder if they tasted their food Ambiance was good I think that is only reason still attracting people come by

We had dinner at Plan B Ipoh on Saturday around 6–7 PM. We ordered the buttermilk chicken spaghetti and the korean burger for my husband. I shared the spaghetti with my elder son. Unfortunately, not long after, we experienced diarrhea and bloating. My son's condition worsened and he had to be admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with rotavirus. It's such a shame because the place is beautiful and has a great vibe. Hopefully, the management can look into hygiene practices more closely or maybe do a quick spot check and ensure staff are consistently practicing proper handwashing. I’m not writing this to bring down the business, but when it involves health, especially my son, I feel responsible to share our experience. Hopefully this can be taken as constructive feedback for improvement. Would love to come back if things improve. Tq

It's great that they stay open in the afternoon, which is super helpful since many other eateries in Ipoh close around 3PM! The menu is pretty straightforward, and while the prices are a bit on the higher side along with the tax 😅, it’s still a nice option to have. The place has a pleasant vibe, the service is quick, but I found that the taste didn’t quite match the price tag. Still, it's nice to have a spot to grab a bite!

Sunday 12pm Parking was not easy. You have to drive and park at the end of the block. It was easy to get a table within Yong Suan and the order was promptly noted by the staff. Food was served relatively fast because they have a system in place to cope with high volume dine in and takeaway customers. They now occupy the side late with canopy for customers to dine in. So there is adequate seating. Coffee shop drinks also take order very fast and serve fast. Too bad the price is inflated and the coffee sucks big time. Nasi Ganja is good because of the gravy and condiments. Unfortunately the chicken of fried till it is too dry. Chicken is also undersized!! Payment after the meal was seamless. Just present the slip of paper that the waiter slips onto your table while you are eating. They accept both cash and QR code payments. Slight deterioration in the food probably due to the high volume. They have to maintain good standards or customers will slowly find better alternatives.

Kena dengan selera.. Came to try the famous nasi ganja as everyone seems to recommend it. It was a corner shoplot on a busy street, and was full of people wanting to try the delicious food. But service was quick, and the price was reasonable. And the food was so, so good! And the portions were HUGE!

Tried the famous Nasi Ganja in Ipoh, but overall, the experience was quite average. The mutton we received was mostly bones with very little meat. When we mentioned it to the staff, they casually said, “It’s like that.” Thankfully, a kind Chinese uncle at the cashier noticed and asked, “You kasi semua tulang, macam mana mau makan?”—which really spoke for us! Eventually, the server did give us an additional piece of mutton, which we appreciated. Taste : NORMAL The fried chicken was quite hard and not very enjoyable. The squid was okay, probably the best among the dishes we tried. The fish egg, unfortunately, wasn’t nice. The rice and curry were OK, and the place was busy, but overall, it didn’t quite live up to the hype. Worth trying once for the experience, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it again.

I did a take away and ate in the comfort of my office and here is my conclusion. AVERAGE. I may try again eating on site to confirm this but the only thing I was impressed with was the lime juice. The best lime juice anywhere in the world! I found the fried chicken curry boring and the use of breast meat made it hard and tasteless. The rest of the curries all tasted the same and I tired to use the papadum to add crunchy but it was just a monotanous pile of curry with rice. The prawn and the beef curry did not inspire. I guess people love this place for its history and nostalgia and my good friend In Ipoh ate this from childhood.

True to its name (Ganja translates to something "addictive" or "dope"), this place lives up to the hype! Nasi Ayam Ganja is seriously addictive and I really recommend it. Be prepared for the queue; the line is quite long, but it moves fast. It's common to share a table with strangers, which is part of the fun and atmosphere! The prices are very affordable, and the portion size is huge (banyak banget). You definitely get great value for your money here. It's Halal and you can request the non-spicy version if you prefer.

I love their nasi ganja! As someone who tried nasi ganja for the first time, I fell in love first taste ❤️ Price wise with that taste, very cheap! The restaurant can be quite crowded, but depending on your luck, the waiting queue wasn't that bad. On the day I went there, it took us only 5 mins to get a table, however still, I recommend to come during non-peak hour. Most importantly, don't forget to bring a fan with you because it is quite hot. Also, parking can be quite tricky.

The ambience is so great. The dining experience is good. It's halal restaurant. Food portion is great. Many types of briyani to choose. Parking is might the biggest issue but you can parked for RM1 at yik foong building beside this restaurant. The price tag is adequate to the food served.

Recommended eating spot in Ipoh! Been craving for a butter chicken dish for awhile now since Ipoh’s Kapitan closure. And Briyani King version one is superb! And it goes really well with their signature mozzarella cheese naan. ^^ Their mutton beriyani claypot also tasted good; flavourful with herbs and spices. A bit pricey for Ipoh standard. But still acceptable since the dishes tasted authentic and nicely served.

Bought them online and although it took long time but it was all worth it. Love the Lontong Special with Sambal Sotong and the Soto! If ever I come here again I will eat at the shop. The gravy is silky smooth and the sambal is just absolutely marvellous. Even the Nasi Lemak was delicious but ‘feels’ average if compared with the Lontong. Recommended!

If you are a lontong lover, this is the place in Ipoh that can cater you a very delicious original lontong. Plus Theres also other breakfast dishes such as nasi lemak and mee kari. The price is affordable.

A bit crowded during cuti sekolah. But the food is yummy. All drink range price rm2.50. The lontong is so sedap with sambal sotong paru goreng n fhe sambal kelapa. I was so excited since it was my first time step in to this beautiful modern style food restaurant However, after go through the menu and made order, i was inform that the food i have ordered already finish (it was only 9pm that time) Then i have request to cancel the order inclusive the beverages, but before i went out, the staff ask me to stay for the beverage. After waited for 20mins, i ask again whether the beverages are ready but the staff only ask me to wait without any further info. 10mins later i went off without a word. I have wasted my 30mins with no food & beverages, feeling hungry & my husband patiently, hungrily waiting for me. Not a good impression for first timer, kindly improve since the ambience & the food looks very good.

Fast service, didnt have to wait for long time until food arrived. Got indoor and outdoor dining table which is very convenient. Toilet also clean. As for the taste of food, quite delicious and affordable. Portion of food was not that big.

I’ve marked this eatery in my google maps for almost a year, finally managed to go last sunday. And it was so worth it. The place is crowded with customers but has plenty of tables and chairs. The foods are aplenty with soo many choices to be made. From fishes to chickens to beef, lamb, udang galah if it’s your lucky day, to the veges, kerabus, and eggs. Even the drinks tastes soo good. The price? RM 48 for two pax (kami makan banyak). So worth it. Will come again! Price- 100/10 Cleanliness - 10/10 Selesa? Yes, open air but tak panas. Rasa? Sedap ikut tekak sy. Tak manis, which is to my liking. Daging dendeng tu ja yg tak berapa dendeng. Star of the show? Kerabu daun mengkudu. I can have it with nasi panas and ikan goreng pun dh cukup. Allll day. My usual place to eat every Sunday. Delicious and not expensive. You can take your own drinks at the place provided and put the amount of ice you want. I prefer this way bcos i dont really like ice so i just add water to my drink. You'll get me if you go there yourself. Too many menu to choose from which is a good thing! It has lots of table so can cater lots of people at one time. At noon the place is a bit hot and too crowded. Come early before 12 noon is what I suggested.

Alright I will make it straight to the point. Curry and Rice - Curry, Fried Chicken, Onion Chicken, Lamb Shank and more. Tasty, and I would suggest "peria goreng" For curry and sauce- ask that anney to mix all together but don't add too much and for last, ask them to add "kuah manis" Bread-all kinds of indian bread I think but I just came here to try nan cheese. Everything is fine except the place is always busy, packed and you will find a hard time to get the parking if you go on weekends or maybe dinner time. Nan cheese is available at 4.00 pm I think. Please say to mamak, I'm suggesting this place.

Good food, my family and I went here for breakfast in Ipoh on the 31st of August as every shop in town is either closed or has no parking nearby due to the merdeka celebration. Luckily we found this stall and ordered their mee kari udang. Its pretty good and with good portion. I got around 4 tauhus and 3 prawns. We also ordered their roti telur goyang, and my sister ate their nasi lemak. Would love to go here again if I go back to Ipoh.

Best mee curry. Compliment with the chilly sauce ..so yummy. Service tip top. Variety of foods too like puri, capati, roti canai, murtabak, sizzling mee, nasi lemak, satay dan kuih muih. Recommended to come early...close at 12 noon. Customer since 80an... U can also tapau the chilly sauce n fish cakes. Lets try👍👍😄

Best curry noodles at Ipoh. Everyone should try this at least once if u come to Ipoh. Home made noodle and fish cake/ ball. Nice and love it. Highly recommended!

A nasi campur restaurant particularly during lunchtime. Can be crowded. The restaurant occupies two shop lots including the end lot near PETRONAS station. Huge selection of food - grilled, masak lemak, asam pedas, ulam etc. Very tasty food. Price is slightly above the market. Hygiene of the restaurant needs improvement.

Flagged the female staff again. She came and said my order is not in the system. That’s all. I asked if she did something. Place my order? Ask the kitchen to quickly do my order. She said “ nope. Coz not in the system”. Frustrated, I told her that she had gone to the kitchen twice. Didn’t she check? It’s been too long. And she rudely responded to me making a rude face too. Food was good but THE STAFF needs improvement. SO RUDE.

So many people come here. They have many types of food to choose. They also provide some english breakfast in the morning. Enjoy the malay food they prepare with mixed vegetables and dishes. They have delicious drinks and dessert too. Suitable for everyone but need to come early since too many people around. The environment was great with clean and tidy restaurant. Real Malay cousine serves here everyday. Food are full of varieties and most important thing is SEDAAP or YUMMY. Desserts and drinks are marvelous and big size... Finally but not least, prices are insanely fair where beggars and tycoons can eat here. This is what we called it "making the food, "BARAKAH" or blessed... Alhamdulillah...

I tried this place 3 times (twice takeaway, once dine-in) and did what I could do to give them a chance because everyone raved about it. Sadly, it's just not up to the hype. Firstly, the food is... OK. Not spectacular. The biryani rice is not very fragrant nor fluffy. The roti was not freshly made and that's understandable during lunch time but at least let me know it's pre-made during morning. The bawang (onion) chicken was so dry and tough and not warm. Granted, the gravy and curry were very delicious. Secondly, the drinks are overly sweet despite reminding them several times to kurang manis (reduce sweetness). Thirdly, the environment and atmosphere were not the cleanest nor tidiest. Flies everywhere is an indicator of bad hygiene and it's enough for me to not come back again and hence this review score. There are many many more other places that offer heaps better food quality and newer furnishings.

Tried their crispy apung served with coconut milk (tosai and coconut chutney) and the Indian donuts (medu vada) also served with unknown sauces. All tasted good, unique flavour different from the usual mees and cakes. Will come again for their unique foods.

Ate nasi briyani here with family the price is very expensive plus they charge separately for boiled egg! When ask at counter the person don't bother to answer! Poor service!

This is the worst mamak in Ipoh. very2 slow service. i come here for having breakfast. i come at 8 am after taking order i must wait for almost 30 minutes. only my teh ais is coming, my roti canai did't come. i asked the waiter and he said the food is making. but i see the person who makes roti canai just relaxing chit chat with another waiter. they did'nt do anything. i so frustrated and decide not having breakfast that morning because i already late to work. i just pay for teh ais and just go.

Very poor quality and service. The waiter fails to understand the order and delivers another instead of real order. People ask for vegetarian and not spicy ,they will give the exact opposite. Such useless service. Provides food poisoning the best.

Best Nasi Kandar in Ipoh with reasonable price and its recommeded by local.Fried chicken,mutton curry,ayam bawang are among their specialty dish.Not have much variety of dish…but definitely will be satisfying for tummy as it taste like homecooked meals. Highly recommended.

My go to Ipoh Kandar since 2010. It doesn't taste like any other nasi kandar, the ayam masak merah is to die for. Get it while it's hot and fresh. It's not like typical nasi kandar banjir, it's unique and not overly berempah. The chicken is very crispy. The staff are still the same as 15 years back. But I feel it taste better last few years. Either way, this restaurant has a special place in my heart. Don't forget to pay your parking or you will get summoned.

Had the opportunity to try one of local favourite lunch spot, hidden right behind Masjid Negeri Perak (Masjid Sultan Idris Shah II) located along Jalan Dato Sagor. It was quite pack when arrive (around 1.10pm) and this place have limited seats but were lucky enough since some of the customer about to finish their lunch. Ordered nasi kandar with ayam bawang, kari kambing, telur sotong plus mixed vegetable, fresh green chili and okra accompanied by their sambal kelapa. Tasty and flavourful, honestly it was really delicious especially if you're an avid nasi kandar, nasi campur goers - it's worth a visit to Gerai Makanan dan Minuman Rahamath or it's locally known as Nasi Ali. Will come back next time to try their Briyani for sure.

This is the place that offers the best nasi kandar in Ipoh, I swear!!!😋😋😋 Located immediately behind the State Mosque, this stall has been passed through generations of operators, all within their family, but the excellent taste had been carefully maintained. From the front entrance, it doesnt look like much, for it still humbly remained as a "stall"..But dont be surprise to see people queing up from the front steps, way out onto the street, especially during peak lunch times..The honey chicken and mutton curry are among their specialty menu, and they start cooking early in the morning, to make sure that all the dishes would be finished within the same day before 3pm, with no leftovers and no recycle food whatsoever... Our family and friends have a special name for this outlet, "Cencurrr..", named after a certain four legged rascals who might or might not have been frequent visitors here..Regardless of that fact, we are still none the wiser!!🤭🤣🤣🤣

Coming from a non nasi kandar lover, I have to admit I love this place so much. Tastes so good. The chicken was perfectly cooked, succulent meat and juicy. If you pick the ayam madu, go easy on the sauce. It's sweet and may over power the curry. The shop is behind a shop lot. Parking can be found easily.

Location - easy to find. Next to State Mosque. Came with Grab so can’t comment on parking but lots of cars parked by roadside. Old-school small restaurant. Capacity 50 pax-ish. Clean. Now the important part. Food. Superb. Sambal nyiok (kelapa) is to die for. Masin2 and pairs well with the kuah campur. Size of chicken piece is quite large. Cooked well. All in all, definitely a must visit if in Ipoh. Price also reasonable. 2 pax nasi with lauk ayam goreng, ayam bawang, kari kambing and teh o ais limau cost around rm36. Value for money definitely.

One of the best laksa and bee Hoon soup Utara in Ipoh. It reminds me of the laksa from Perlis and the MeeHoon from Kedah. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back.

I'm Indonesian and I was here in November 2023. At first, I tried some of their food for dinner and surprisingly everything was SO GOOD! We decided to go back the next day and try other dishes and nothing disappointed. I love their lobak and we even ordered more for a take away haha. This is a halal chinese restaurant and they served a big portion The owner came to our table and we talked for a few moments. He asked about the food and mentioned that he has visited several cities in Indonesia. He's so nice and the service is excellent. His wife is also very kind. I'd love to come back here once I visit Ipoh again. See you again uncle!

Went to have breakfast with my big family of 15 people. Food were great, the atmosphere was refreshing. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and they made us feel like going to a relative house for rumah terbuka. They also took some time to chat and share interesting places in Ipoh.
